- 1:34- Welcome to the divine five one five podcast.
- 1:38- Here is today's prayer.
- 1:45- Hello, and welcome to divine five one five
- 1:48- daily prayers with the power of worship.
- 1:51- Today's
- 1:52- prayer focus is
- 1:53- praying when someone else is hurting.
- 1:56- Scripture text comes from Romans twelve fifteen
- 1:59- that says, rejoice with those who rejoice,
- 2:01- mourn with those who mourn.
- 2:04- And I want to start the conversation
- 2:06- by
- 2:07- saying that
- 2:09- this is a very
- 2:11- special
- 2:12- scripture
- 2:13- for me as of, of late, because we
- 2:16- recently lost our family pet. And,
- 2:21- any of you who are, pet owners know
- 2:24- that,
- 2:25- those cute little mascots,
- 2:28- on four legs, are just like, family. Right?
- 2:31- And,
- 2:33- they demand our attention, just like our children.
- 2:37- And,
- 2:37- they eat up the snacks just like our
- 2:39- kids and everything else. Right? And so when
- 2:42- we lose them, it is so devastating.
- 2:45- And so as I was stating before, we
- 2:47- had recently lost our our our,
- 2:50- family pet, which was a dog,
- 2:52- and,
- 2:54- it was so heart wrenching.
- 2:56- And I remember
- 3:00- just being in in shock, just, you know,
- 3:03- crying and and going on, and everyone in
- 3:06- the family was impacted by it.
- 3:08- And
- 3:09- the sweetest thing about this moment,
- 3:12- as I remember, is that one of my
- 3:15- our dear friends
- 3:16- not only prayed with us but went with
- 3:18- us when we had to end up putting
- 3:20- our our our head down.
- 3:22- And
- 3:23- the other
- 3:25- dear friend and her husband
- 3:27- ended up buying us a plaque for the
- 3:30- for the dog.
- 3:32- And I cannot tell you how much those
- 3:36- sweet sentiments meant.
- 3:38- Right?
- 3:39- It it's as if
- 3:40- they stepped right into where we were and
- 3:44- experienced the pain with us.
- 3:47- And
- 3:48- that love
- 3:49- is what helped us get through those difficult
- 3:52- times.
- 3:53- And likewise,
- 3:54- when something
- 3:56- exciting would happen, they were right there to
- 3:58- rejoice and celebrate with those moments too.
- 4:01- And so sometimes
- 4:03- we don't know what to say when someone
- 4:06- we love is hurt,
- 4:08- Especially if it's,
- 4:10- a loss like the, the loss of a
- 4:12- loved one.
- 4:14- Sometimes it's it's almost better to not say
- 4:17- anything at all because it's not anything that
- 4:19- you can say really that's gonna bring comfort
- 4:22- to the person. The person doesn't necessarily need
- 4:25- a word. They just need the comfort of
- 4:27- your presence.
- 4:28- But oftentimes, we worry about finding the right
- 4:31- words when often
- 4:33- the greatest
- 4:34- gift we can offer is
- 4:37- bringing them before God in prayer.
- 4:39- So
- 4:41- wherever you are on that spectrum, whether you're
- 4:44- in a season of rejoicing or in a
- 4:46- season of mourning,
- 4:49- know that
- 4:52- there's someone there that can come and minister
- 4:55- to you when you're hurting.
- 4:57- And
- 4:58- when you're in a good place, remember to
- 5:01- minister to others who are hurting.
- 5:03- Your prayers are powerful
- 5:07- and can often be the greatest gift someone
- 5:10- can can get.
- 5:13- That being said,
- 5:14- let's pray.
- 5:16- Father God, teach us
- 5:19- to carry the burdens of others with compassion.
- 5:22- When someone we care about is hurting, help
- 5:25- us to respond with prayer before advice.
- 5:29- Fill us with wisdom,
- 5:31- sensitivity, and love as we support those around
- 5:34- us.
- 5:35- May our prayers become a source of comfort,
- 5:38- strength, and hope for those who are struggling.
- 5:41- And thank you for allowing us to partner
- 5:44- with you through prayer.
- 5:46- And we bless you. In Jesus' name, amen.
- 5:52- Always remember that one prayer can change someone's
- 5:56- day.
- 5:57- One faithful prayer
- 5:59- can change
- 6:00- a life.
