- 0:01Goes on like we said it seems like such a simple letter, but
- 0:05if you go line by line you analyze it really holds our
- 0:09entire existence and what it makes to be means to be a the
- 0:12client who we want to be so we started with a person should
- 0:16talk softly and that'll save you from anger.
- 0:19He's very strong about how how difficult anger is how he uses
- 0:23the word gay. Now when a person allows anger
- 0:25to take hold of his life at all, then he's really allowing a lack
- 0:30of control. And that can lead to the worst
- 0:32things is your rights. And then he says when you go the
- 0:35office away, when you save yourself from anger as you read
- 0:39last week and you move over to a very positive zone with the less
- 0:43anger we have, the more humility we have.
- 0:46Now, these things don't directly relate in our own minds.
- 0:49How does anger management as they call it?
- 0:53How does controlling our anger bring us to you nude?
- 0:58Let's see the words first 'cause she Internet salesman are cost.
- 1:01When you are seeing some anger talea Libra MI dot anava you're
- 1:05going to have in your heart. It's elevated the strength of
- 1:10your nudity shahimi dot tovao Nikola MI dot tovot which is the
- 1:16number one positive trait the person can have.
- 1:20Is you Moody? We talk about this all the time.
- 1:22It's a number one thing a person can have.
- 1:24It's not spoken about enough. In my opinion, it's the best
- 1:27thing. It's the most impressive me da.
- 1:29It's the most important me da. And how does a person get there
- 1:33according to their own button? He gets it through controlling
- 1:36his anger. Now we have to figure that out.
- 1:39How does control of anger lead to your mood?
- 1:43And then we'll talk about why he mood is so special.
- 1:45How does one lead to the other? It's one thing to be, you know,
- 1:48I don't get angry, OK? I make sure to avoid getting
- 1:50riled up. I calm myself down.
- 1:52I avoid the situations, I hold my tongue.
- 1:55I don't get angry. I got it.
- 1:56Beautiful. I'm an easier person to be
- 1:58around, that's for sure. No one's nervous.
- 2:01I'm going to say. No one's nervous how I'm going
- 2:02to react. All right, But how does that
- 2:05hold you back? How does that develop you
- 2:07actually, to becoming a humble person?
- 2:10What do you think then? You can't.
- 2:17Control, so I'm not controlling. OK, you're a snide direct carry
- 2:23over, we said. Anger was really.
- 2:24Close those songs gets respect. Right.
- 2:26OK, good. Ask for respect.
- 2:29That good, the big trigger of anger.
- 2:31And then if you look at this, if I didn't and they came out even,
- 2:33you'll find a lot of correlation between two things.
- 2:38And I'll add a third. A lot of correlation between
- 2:41anger and arrogance. Anger and arrogance are directly
- 2:45related. The mindset is very simple and
- 2:47I'll show you a third one in a second.
- 2:48The mindset is when a person gets anger, it's as I just said,
- 2:52it's because a lack, I was feeling a lack of respect.
- 2:55Ultimately a person gets triggered because they say you
- 2:58said that to me. You don't mess with me, you
- 3:00don't do this to me. You know who I am.
- 3:01All those terms, all different ways of saying I don't deserve
- 3:06to be disrespected. So anger is directly related to
- 3:12be feeling arrogant. And the mindset that he's
- 3:15telling you is, is that when a person tell themselves I'm in
- 3:18control and they work backward, which is if they control the way
- 3:22they react, what they're in a sense saying is you break it
- 3:25down. How do you control anger?
- 3:27I've never been to an anger management class, but I'm
- 3:29assuming you tell the guy, breathe in, breathe out, all
- 3:32that type of stuff. All right, pause, pause, walk
- 3:35away, right? Pause, pause.
- 3:36Fair. So you control anger with pause
- 3:39the way you totally control anger.
- 3:41That's and the reaction everything that was the reaction
- 3:43issue. The way you get beyond that,
- 3:46which is not only to not have the reaction that really be
- 3:48upset in the first place, which is a whole nother level is when
- 3:52you tell yourself I don't have a reason to be angry.
- 3:55I don't deserve. I don't have a right every time
- 3:57someone says something to feel like it's going at me.
- 4:00Certain people, they're in a room, they hear a conversation,
- 4:02they feel like these daggers going at them every time.
- 4:05Not always is someone talking to you.
- 4:06Not always does someone need to hurt you and even if they do not
- 4:10always is that's considered the biggest sin of all time, right?
- 4:14If you change your mindset to your reactions, not only, as you
- 4:18said, pause, which is probably #1 if you get beyond that, which
- 4:22is you tell yourself, I don't really have a right to get anger
- 4:25every time. Not always do I have the the
- 4:28purpose and the and the right, as you say, to demand more
- 4:32respect and you'll be less angry because anger really comes.
- 4:36I'm a sense that I deserve a lot, and the less I feel I
- 4:40deserve, the less angry you get. I know that I've said this
- 4:44before, in before I was in a any sort of leadership role,
- 4:48whatever you call this, I got angry much less right, vicious,
- 4:59vicious out vicious royal range to be thankful, right?
- 5:04Good, very good. Exactly.
- 5:06So before this role, I got angry much less in this role in the
- 5:09beginning, for sure. There's a mindset of you know
- 5:12what I mean? I asked you to do something you
- 5:14didn't do it that type of head, right?
- 5:16I'm sure when you run a company and you have an employee and
- 5:19you're paying the guy, maybe overpaying the guy, right?
- 5:22You did him so many favors to help him out when he was doing a
- 5:24wedding, whatever else. And then they don't do what you
- 5:27ask them to do. There's a mindset out there,
- 5:28which is even if you're a very giving, caring, kind person,
- 5:34that sort of situation evaluated, they crossed you
- 5:38evaluated, they messed you over, and that triggers and the
- 5:41mindset has to be in. The greats have always showed,
- 5:44like I said, leadership. The great people have always
- 5:46showed they can be, they can be giving and then they give me
- 5:51someone can mess them over. I'm not saying they're going to
- 5:53be abused much. I say that they can be giving,
- 5:56then they can mess over and then tomorrow it's the same approach.
- 6:00They don't change your approach. They don't say, you know what,
- 6:03oh, I got, I got someone hurt me, someone wronged me.
- 6:06I therefore have to change how I do things.
- 6:08Maybe be a little bit more careful for your own sake.
- 6:11You got to be going to be wary and you know you cannot allow
- 6:13yourself to be stepped on. But overall, they'll do it again
- 6:17and they'll provide for the guy again because it's not about me
- 6:21and it's not about, oh, I'm in the giving position or I'm the
- 6:24leadership position. I'm the boss.
- 6:26And because then I have the right to say things the way they
- 6:28are. You do have the right to ask for
- 6:30certain things. But the anger, which means the
- 6:32fury and the smoke coming out of your nostrils, that scene is a
- 6:37mindset that's coming from a belief that I deserve.
- 6:41We don't want to ever be in a position of deserving because
- 6:45the reality is we don't deserve maybe Hakaratov, from his point
- 6:50of view, he should have Akaratov.
- 6:52You might want to teach him if you can be in full sense of body
- 6:56and mind to be able to be in control.
- 6:58You might want to teach that person to have Akaratov that
- 7:01yes, oh, a different state. You want him to have Akaratov,
- 7:05but you don't want to be the one who gets furious at him.
- 7:07There's a different state and this will lead to humility.
- 7:11Always. You want to end up by humility.
- 7:13How beautiful is next step is this?
- 7:15How beautiful is humility? Before I go forward, I want to
- 7:18make sure that point was clear and I'm sure it's accepted.
- 7:20What do you think about that last point?
- 7:23All right, What do you think? Worse.
- 7:24Makes sense. You think it makes sense.
- 7:26The rather he says something, you're doing a leadership role.
- 7:28And he asked somebody to do something and they don't do it.
- 7:32There's artification to reactions.
- 7:34There's nothing nothing to do with getting angry.
- 7:35For exactly. Absolutely somebody for not you
- 7:38have what a day job was supposed to do and you shouldn't feel
- 7:40guilty about fire or. Something absolutely 2
- 7:42completely different things to be in full control and to make
- 7:47mature decisions has nothing to do with anger.
- 7:50The The confusion that we have is that we always imagine that
- 7:54you're fired scene and the the reactionary is seen as the
- 7:58moments that you know, people make decisions.
- 8:00That's wrong. You shouldn't make a decision in
- 8:02that moment of costing that fit of rage.
- 8:05You should make a very mature decision.
- 8:06Absolutely you should find absolutely you should be
- 8:09efficient and you know what? If you're not efficient at times
- 8:12you might be hurting somebody else, someone else who could
- 8:14have got a better job. Someone else deserves A
- 8:15promotion, maybe your family who deserves that money.
- 8:19All those things are in play as well.
- 8:20You have to be mature, had to be cooled down and to be calm.
- 8:24This is the mind, Sir. All right, You have to know what
- 8:26the stuff, that's for sure, But we're trying to avoid even
- 8:30getting there. And when you get there, you
- 8:31definitely have to know when to stop.
- 8:33Now what's? So beautiful about humility.
- 8:36What's a bit of ability humility?
- 8:37What makes it so an attractive we da the number one one that
- 8:41Hashem once. What's the idea All right, so
- 8:45again, it's very similar to what we just said.
- 8:46No, he's a good. Person, he has a good.
- 8:48Heart. When a guy is humble, he opens
- 8:51himself up to so much more of life on your home.
- 8:57Everything changes for you when you have a level of humility.
- 9:00Actually how many things you can.
- 9:02People can deal with you more, You can do other people more.
- 9:06You have 1000 times more. You're not shamayim on your hum
- 9:11because when you're humble, you have the ability to recognize
- 9:13Hashem's existence. When you're not humble, you're
- 9:17constantly seeing yourself and where do I fit in and where are
- 9:20people going to say about me? What are they saying about me?
- 9:23What's happening to me? All right, Lack of humility
- 9:26literally fills up your world, I think.
- 9:30So your ability to be the most productive person, with
- 9:32humility, you shrink yourself down and now you have room for
- 9:36everything else, everybody else, everyone else, including God.
- 9:41So humility is an ability to be your lean self when you're
- 9:47arrogant. When a person's arrogant, then
- 9:49all they're seeing their entire life is how do I fit in what's
- 9:54happening to me? What's so and so saying about
- 9:56me? What are they thinking about me?
- 9:58How do they look at me? Right?
- 9:59Is all the natural mindset that we have, right?
- 10:01You walk into a wedding myself, me, myself and I exactly, you
- 10:04walk into a wedding and there's 1000 people, an arrogant person
- 10:08and this is very normal. An arrogant person or a
- 10:11self-conscious person is thinking that the 1000 people,
- 10:15how are they looking at me? And it's normal.
- 10:18You're going to a wedding. Do you know what's very funny
- 10:20thing? All they're thinking about all
- 10:22those people is themselves or maybe nothing.
- 10:26Then definitely not all thinking about you, right?
- 10:28You've been the other side of the corner.
- 10:30You see a million people. You think about all of them.
- 10:32You care what they look like that much.
- 10:33It makes such a big difference to you.
- 10:34Every person you see by the wedding, every person you see in
- 10:37shul, you think you're you're sizing them up every minute.
- 10:40No, right. Are you?
- 10:43I don't think we are. So if we're not doing to others
- 10:46and they're not doing to us, so we're confusing ourselves and
- 10:50we're wasting our time and our existence by being arrogant and
- 10:55self-conscious. Humility is waking us every
- 10:57morning and being thankful to Jeff.
- 11:00Humility is simply, and you know what?
- 11:02It's 100% right? And with humility, you enjoy it
- 11:05all. You're thankful.
- 11:07How can I talk? As you said before as well, Miss
- 11:08Tessa, how can I talk Tov level of appreciation of everything
- 11:14that's going on and you're living, I'm telling you,
- 11:17arrogance, self-conscious, all those mindsets are not living.
- 11:21All they're doing is destroying their life because they're
- 11:24thinking about other people saying about them.
- 11:26And a person who is humble, a person who is thankful, a person
- 11:30is appreciative, a person who's just here, not busy with
- 11:34everything else, he's living. He's the full person.
- 11:38It seems the opposite. You look at the other guy who
- 11:40was a big deal and he looks like he's the one who's larger than
- 11:43life figure. A larger than life figure
- 11:45normally is literally larger than life.
- 11:48They don't have life, a small life.
- 11:50Individual people like what we try to be, people who are just
- 11:53living day in and day out and enjoying themselves.
- 11:56They are living it up while the other guy is really not.
- 12:00And that's the contrast between arrogance and humility.
- 12:03You want to be lean. You don't want to be busy with
- 12:05your bloated self. You want to just be yourself and
- 12:09you're blessed. He blessed with so much more.
- 12:11And this is the mindset that I'm Bond is telling his son.
- 12:13He's telling his son in his letter that I want you to become
- 12:17a humble person and extremely humble person that I'm Bond
- 12:19rights. We've said this before. 1 midah
- 12:23that a person should take all the way home is the midah of
- 12:27humility. My old my old a person should be
- 12:31very, very humble. Don't save anything else.
- 12:36And in America today, the mindset is being overly humble,
- 12:39me being taken as advantage of. No.
- 12:42That's neos those. People can't be happy.
- 12:44That's a chaos it's not even arrogance the whole the world,
- 12:47but humility is just being yourself that next to the middle
- 12:51Lord more double very. Did you say that that being
- 12:56humble is looked at as we right in America today.
- 12:58Being humble is like that as we because they misconstrued
- 13:00humility is humility. I was is, is not this guy.
- 13:04That's not a humble guy. Sometimes you find the guy was a
- 13:06very proud person, but he's really humble because he's OK
- 13:09with life and he's OK with other people and he's not really
- 13:12self-conscious and he's not arrogant and he's not yelling
- 13:15and he's not talking down to people.
- 13:17He's just living his own beautiful, wonderful life.
- 13:22And that's a very humble person and he's fully in control for
- 13:25sure. What about a guy that fights
- 13:27back? Teddy.
- 13:28What are the guys that fights back?
- 13:29They attack him, attack him, attack him and he fights back.
- 13:32He doesn't accept it. OK, there's something else in
- 13:34America which is a different head, which is his mindset of
- 13:37not being taken advantage of, which is something that has to
- 13:41be applied in few and far between cases.
- 13:44There are is there is a situation where a person has to
- 13:47say, I'm not being taken advantage of.
- 13:49I'll give you a side conversation that we had
- 13:50recently was kids when they get, you know, hit, what should they
- 13:55do back? Should they punch back?
- 13:57Should they run to a teacher? And it's a serious conversation
- 14:01that has many ramifications. And it's a real 1.
- 14:03So some say punch back, some say push back, that people are
- 14:08afraid if their kids run away, then they're going to display
- 14:10more bullying. And it's a real conversation
- 14:12that's a few and far between the situation.
- 14:14You have to be very careful. You don't want to allow
- 14:17bullying. You don't want to allow a world
- 14:19of being taken advantage of. At the same time, you don't want
- 14:22to develop a MIDA of a fighter. That's a very serious
- 14:26conversation as a separate conversation.
- 14:28But overall got a. Situation that when my son
- 14:31Morris was in fabric he was a young kid and he comes home and
- 14:35he says dad this guy is cagging me bullying me you know and then
- 14:39good what you do is he keeps throwing it to me I says you
- 14:43know why then Simon does it to you poncho and if the teacher
- 14:48does anything to you I'll come up I'll.
- 14:50Come back. This is passes, not just some
- 14:51limitations. OK, OK.
- 14:54You've. Never had a.
- 14:55Problem with. It's very funny, OK?
- 14:57It's a big question. This is a big question that I
- 15:00don't know the full answer on. I'm scared to tell my children
- 15:04to punch him because. Because, you know we're in my
- 15:06girls, right? Refalias I tried that same piece
- 15:09of my real children. And stops, right, exactly
- 15:14because we have a hey we don't like exactly.
- 15:16It's a heart. For my, for my father, Shalom,
- 15:18that if somebody, if somebody steps on you, you're on your
- 15:21toe, then you break his leg. So I tell you, this is a real,
- 15:28I'm telling you this isn't a real challenge.
- 15:30This is the real debate. But that's again, that is not
- 15:33the common case. People like to believe you don't
- 15:36ever see a guy that shit, you're messing with me, you're messing
- 15:38me. They go like and they're jumping
- 15:39on you and like, what's up? What just happened?
- 15:41Someone drove. I heard of you.
- 15:42Like what happened then just like I overdid that mindset.
- 15:47So yes, it does come up few and far between cases a couple of
- 15:50times out of a life, a year, whatever you decide.
- 15:53But overall, the regular go to approach in a daily life is
- 15:57emoting the regular approach. You should not have fits of
- 16:01anger daily. You should not have situations
- 16:04where you feel people crossed you all the time.
- 16:06If that's happening all the time, it's in your head or you
- 16:09have their own structure of life.
- 16:11But see me should not be happening all the time.
- 16:14Typical day should include the fact that you could, you're
- 16:17happy, you settled, you're OK and you find and that's all
- 16:22because you've adopted a level of humility that tells you I'm
- 16:26myself. I'm very comfortable myself.
- 16:29I'm very proud of myself. Actually.
- 16:31A humble person is actually a super confident person.
- 16:33You know that a real humble person is very confident.
- 16:36He's very good in his skin. I don't think that every time an
- 16:40arrow flies over there, it's coming at me.
- 16:42I don't think every word that said in my presence is
- 16:44considered a diagram me. They weren't always hinting at
- 16:46me. That's another major and
- 16:48arrogant self-conscious mindset. Instead, I'm good, I'm
- 16:52comfortable, I'm happy and because of that I'm blessed
- 16:56person when I'm humble and response other people around you
- 17:01love you. The reality is when you're
- 17:03humble, you have a degree of hand, have a degree of
- 17:07likability. There's no one is self-conscious
- 17:09in your presence. That's the final straw of
- 17:12humility and it's a great blessing because no one thinks
- 17:14what is he going to say about me?
- 17:15What are they going to say when I leave?
- 17:16What are they saying behind my back?
- 17:18That's all comes When you're arrogant, this is what they're
- 17:20thinking. When you're humble, they're not
- 17:22thinking that at all. Stop with this.
