  Steelers. No intro, no outro, raw reaction from

  this move right now. I understand that Art Rooney

  wants to win. I understand that he's been devoid

  of experiencing winning a championship and playing
• 0:33
  deep in the playoffs. I understand that. I want

  that just as much as everybody else. But the

  way that you go about it is wrong. Why in the

  world would you make this move knowing, knowing
• 0:45
  that you had better options available? You had
• 0:49
  Brian Flores. You had Nate Shieldhouse, Anthony
• 0:53
  Weaver, Chris Shula. So why would you go with
• 0:55
  Mike McCarthy? A move that in some ways just
• 0:58
  showed that you're just complacent with where
• 1:01
  you are right now. For all intents and purposes,
• 1:04
  you should have just tried to convince Mike Tomlin
• 1:06
  to just go one more year. Getting Mike McCarthy
• 1:08
  doesn't mean that Aaron Rodgers is going to join
• 1:11
  the team again. Getting Mike McCarthy doesn't
• 1:13
  mean that he's going to have the eye for the
• 1:15
  next franchise quarterback for the Steelers.

  Getting Mike McCarthy doesn't mean that this
• 1:19
  offense is going to be top five, top ten, or
• 1:22
  top three next year. You know what it means?

  You know what it shows? I, Art Rooney II, am

  the most basic, impatient owner in all of the

  NFL. I have no patience. I want what I want right

  here, right now. And it also shows that the Steelers

  fan base is the most toxic fan base in all of

  football. Better yet, in all of sports. All you

  have is just a bunch of championship hungry,

  I want to beat my chest every single season fans

  that just can't stand losing all the time. You

  go through a stretch where your team isn't playing

  good football, and now everybody wants to say,

  get rid of Mike Tomlin. Mike Tomlin's got to

  go. We're just so sick and tired of having the

  same outcome year after year after year. I'm

  make sure I serve you Mike McCarthy on a silver

  platter. Now everybody's saying Art Rooney is

  the worst owner in the world. Art Rooney needs

  to go sell the team to somebody else. The Pittsburgh
• 3:06
  Steelers are a mediocre franchise. What are we
• 3:09
  going to do now? We're so screwed. But this is
• 3:12
  what you wanted. But here's the similarity between
• 3:14
  Mike McCarthy and Mike Tomlin. Both of them haven't
• 3:18
  won a playoff game. So essentially, you got Mike
• 3:21
  Tomlin all over again, but except he does offense
• 3:25
  instead of defense. See, the real reason why
• 3:28
  people were tired of Mike Tomlin was because
• 3:30
  of his approach to the game. He didn't want to
• 3:33
  change over his coaching staff. He didn't want
• 3:35
  to change over his approach to free agency or
• 3:38
  the draft or even game planning for games. Instead,
• 3:42
  he was under the belief that I believe in my
• 3:45
  players and we're going to out tackle you. We're
• 3:48
  going to out physical you. We're going to play
• 3:50
  our brand of football, not even realizing that
• 3:53
  you needed to evolve your brand of football.

  Everybody has evolved. Andy Reid has evolved.

  Sean McVay has evolved. Sean Payton has evolved.

  But the one person that hasn't evolved is Mike
• 4:06
  Tomlin. And that's the reason why they're not
• 4:10
  playing competitive football anymore. But we
• 4:12
  also have to talk about their bad drafting and
• 4:15
  bad free agent moves. See, everybody just wants
• 4:18
  to blame Mike Tomlin, but nobody wants to bring
• 4:21
  up Kevin Colbert. You can't bring up Kevin Colbert
• 4:23
  because if you do, oh, the boogeyman might come
• 4:25
  out. He might beat you with a moldy primiti sandwich.

  No. Kevin Colbert deserves just as much blame
• 4:32
  as Mike Tomlin. Those past few drafts were horrible.

  How many of those first -rounders are still on
• 4:38
  this team right now? How many of those first
• 4:41
  -rounders were able to get a second contract
• 4:42
  with the Steelers? None of them. So when you

  factor all those things in, of course you're
• 4:49
  not going to be successful. Of course you're
• 4:51
  not going to be playing in February. But see,
• 4:54
  this goes back to everything I've been saying
• 4:56
  on different social media platforms. The Steelers
• 4:58
  need to stick with the model. What is the model?

  Hire a defensive head coach. I understand everybody
• 5:05
  wants an offensive head coach because they see
• 5:07
  how many points they put up and how well the
• 5:09
  quarterback does and the running back and the
• 5:12
  wide receiver and the tight end. But guess what?

  The model that you have is not broken. Bill Cowher
• 5:18
  won a Super Bowl. Chuck Knoll won Super Bowls.
• 5:21
  Mike Tomlin won a Super Bowl. All of them defensive
• 5:24
  head coaches. You could have brought in Chris
• 5:27
  Shula. Every single year that Chris Shula has
• 5:29
  been a defensive coordinator for the Rams, somebody
• 5:32
  has a breakout year. And on top of that, what
• 5:35
  people don't realize, he's coached every single
• 5:38
  position. That's somebody that you want on your
• 5:41
  team compared to getting someone like Mike McCarthy,
• 5:44
  who his schemes are okay, but I just don't believe
• 5:48
  he's a head coach at this point. If you make
• 5:50
  him maybe an offensive coordinator or maybe an
• 5:53
  assistant head coach, maybe. But to just give
• 5:56
  him the keys to the kingdom? No. But now I'm
• 5:59
  curious to see who else is going to be added
• 6:01
  on this staff. I want to see who the defensive
• 6:04
  coordinator is going to be. Because if I'm Brian
• 6:07
  Flores, I'm going back to Minnesota. There's
• 6:09
  no point in me staying here. If I'm Anthony Weaver,
• 6:11
  I might just go with John Harbaugh again. Or
• 6:15
  try to see if I can get a job with the Bills
• 6:17
  or the Raiders or the Cardinals. But this is
• 6:20
  a trend that we've been seeing for the past few
• 6:21
  years. The Steelers are impatient. They want
• 6:25
  what they want right there, right now. You drafted
• 6:28
  Kenny Pickett, and then the next year you have
• 6:30
  Bryce Young, you have C .J. Stroud, you have
• 6:32
  better options. You wanted a left tackle oh so
• 6:35
  bad. You draft Broderick Jones and then next
• 6:37
  year you have a slew of tackles. Better tackles
• 6:42
  than Broderick Jones. This is a trend that we
• 6:44
  continue to see year after year when it comes
• 6:47
  to the Steelers. And at this point, nobody else
• 6:51
  deserves blame than Art Rooney. Because all you've
• 6:54
  been complaining about is, I want to win a playoff
• 6:56
  game. Oh, so bad. I'm willing to do anything
• 6:59
  to do it. Do you want my McCarthy? Yes, if it
• 7:02
  means I'll win a playoff game. Give it to me.

  And now look, so for every person that wanted

  this move, congratulations, you played yourself.

  For every person that chanted fire Mike Tomlin,

  congratulations, you played yourself. So for

  every person that was just tired of just the

  same old, same old, congratulations, you played

  team and I'm just done with this fan base. As
