- 0:22Speaker 2: Good morning everybody.
- 0:23Speaker 3: It is November seventh, and it is a Friday as
- 0:29Speaker 3: we end the week, and I got a lot of
- 0:31Speaker 3: stuff going on this weekend. But first let me say
- 0:34Speaker 3: hello to one and all.
- 0:36Speaker 2: There you are Kno, yes, I'm here, Yes you are.
- 0:41Speaker 2: And Nilstir good morning.
- 0:43Speaker 4: Hey. Willie wolf Esquire, Yeah.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Amy, what did that? That hoodie is sweatshirt?
- 0:51Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 0:51Speaker 6: Oh?
- 0:52Speaker 2: Have you been to Canterbury?
- 0:53Speaker 6: I have.
- 0:54Speaker 2: He's very excited. The archbishop is there.
- 0:56Speaker 3: I got a great Archbishop of Canterbury story, which I'm
- 0:58Speaker 3: not going to get into it.
- 0:59Speaker 5: He did not run into the archbishop.
- 1:02Speaker 2: Uh huh, I have.
- 1:04Speaker 5: We did have a tailor too, though.
- 1:07Speaker 2: They what you had a tailor?
- 1:09Speaker 4: Two?
- 1:10Speaker 3: Oh a Taylor two. I'm sorry, got it. I just
- 1:13Speaker 3: didn't hear that. I thought you said Taylor. I'm going
- 1:16Speaker 3: what does a tailor have to do with the Archbishop
- 1:18Speaker 3: of Canterbury really make chocolate? No, that's where they don't. Anyway,
- 1:24Speaker 3: she's talking about Chaucer. She's talking about in Canterbury.
- 1:27Speaker 6: Tales.
- 1:28Speaker 3: Yes by Wait, when you think about the walking the
- 1:32Speaker 3: Canterbury Tales as the church people walked from is when
- 1:36Speaker 3: the foul Way or the eleven twelve hundred when they
- 1:39Speaker 3: walked from Canterbury and this whole group of pilgrims to Lendon.
- 1:42Speaker 3: It's sixty miles. It's basically three days and you're done.
- 1:46Speaker 3: And everybody thinks it's much longer than that. But it's
- 1:48Speaker 3: a little bit of history. I thought I'd throw out
- 1:50Speaker 3: you for absolutely no reason. Okay, Will good morning, Good
- 1:52Speaker 3: morning Bill. NFL shirt number one I can't quite.
- 1:56Speaker 4: See here is Joe Montana number go.
- 2:00Speaker 2: Yeah, that was an boy that was a dynasty for
- 2:03Speaker 2: a while. Yeah. And then let me see everybody there.
- 2:07Speaker 2: Yeah and uh and good morning Anne. Good morning though.
- 2:10Speaker 3: Okay, real quick story about Anne. Uh and uh and me.
- 2:14Speaker 3: Yesterday Uh so Lindsay came in and we went to breakfast.
- 2:18Speaker 3: Uh and met the mother in law of this kid,
- 2:23Speaker 3: a Dawn, who had been telling you about who was
- 2:26Speaker 3: picked up by ice and it's it's an incredible story
- 2:30Speaker 3: and we're gonna have her on next Wednesday. As a
- 2:32Speaker 3: matter of fact, talk about this insane story of being
- 2:35Speaker 3: picked up by ice. So after breakfast, everybody hugs everybody.
- 2:40Speaker 3: Uh you know, Lindsay knows Jeannette for years, and uh,
- 2:43Speaker 3: Anne hugs everybody. So it just left me and Anne
- 2:46Speaker 3: staring at each other. So, Okay, I guess we have
- 2:48Speaker 3: to hug. You know, It's just one of those things
- 2:50Speaker 3: where there was Yeah, I just had to do it.
- 2:52Speaker 3: So I hug Anne and in the middle of the hug,
- 2:56Speaker 3: we're awkwardly hugging, and for some reason I I grab boob.
- 3:00Speaker 2: Somehow it became it was a mistake. It was a mistake.
- 3:04Speaker 3: I mean, you didn't know what I'm perfect Anyway, I turned,
- 3:09Speaker 3: I did because we were hugging and squeezing, and then
- 3:12Speaker 3: I turned and I looked at it and and I go,
- 3:14Speaker 3: did I just shine bomb you?
- 3:16Speaker 2: And she haven't?
- 3:18Speaker 3: We have a new verb now to shine bomb the
- 3:21Speaker 3: story of the president? Exo, we got who got shine bomb?
- 3:26Speaker 6: What?
- 3:27Speaker 4: Did we just become witnesses?
- 3:28Speaker 6: Do?
- 3:29Speaker 4: Are we gonna have to go to court? Now?
- 3:30Speaker 3: No, I'll tell you why because it wasn't done during
- 3:33Speaker 3: the course of employment. So, uh, there is nobody in
- 3:38Speaker 3: HR that Anne can call. Actually, there's nobody in HR
- 3:40Speaker 3: that can can call because there's nobody in HR. But
- 3:43Speaker 3: is that a legitimate HR complain complaint. I don't think
- 3:47Speaker 3: it is, because it's outside of a breakfast establishment, not
- 3:51Speaker 3: in the studio.
- 3:52Speaker 5: I think it would still work.
- 3:53Speaker 2: I can't do it.
- 3:55Speaker 6: I don't think so.
- 3:56Speaker 3: First of all, I can't deny it because it's now
- 3:58Speaker 3: on the radio that you did well. Yeah, but I
- 4:00Speaker 3: can certainly say it was a mistake. And then you
- 4:03Speaker 3: would look at me and you said, yes, it was
- 4:04Speaker 3: a mistake. Of course you're going to lie about that,
- 4:06Speaker 3: aren't you, that.
- 4:07Speaker 2: You did it?
- 4:08Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 4:09Speaker 3: So anyway, and and I have a new relationship. I
- 4:13Speaker 3: have shine bombed her.
- 4:14Speaker 6: Oh my god, did she Did she step on your testicles? No? No,
- 4:19Speaker 6: she did.
- 4:19Speaker 3: She ignored it for a moment because it was a
- 4:21Speaker 3: little bit awkward. And then I looked at her and
- 4:24Speaker 3: I said, did I just shine bomb you?
- 4:26Speaker 6: And she said yes, how when you're hugging, I mean
- 4:30Speaker 6: it just it was a it was a weird squeeze
- 4:33Speaker 6: and I was trying to astraction.
- 4:35Speaker 2: I know it was. It was like it was just weird.
- 4:37Speaker 5: I mean, was it when you were separating from the hugging?
- 4:40Speaker 3: No, it was No, it was when between my like
- 4:44Speaker 3: my arm and my side and his hands.
- 4:48Speaker 7: Kind of got stopped and grabbed it and just kind
- 4:50Speaker 7: of squeezed.
- 4:51Speaker 6: Yeah, I grabbed it. Yeah, And I was like, wow,
- 4:57Speaker 6: I just got felt up by Bill Handle.
- 5:00Speaker 4: Welcome to the club's sister.
- 5:02Speaker 2: I do feel interesting.
- 5:05Speaker 6: Oh my gosh, a little side boob. Yeah, Bill, you
- 5:08Speaker 6: still got it, buddy.
- 5:09Speaker 2: Yeah, I still do and I still had the top
- 5:12Speaker 2: of it.
- 5:12Speaker 3: We'll see if I'm still working here next week, when
- 5:15Speaker 3: I will be working here next week. Because the good
- 5:17Speaker 3: news about iHeart. Like many other corporations, they don't know
- 5:20Speaker 3: how to spell HR anymore.
- 5:22Speaker 6: There's there's no such thing as HR. I think there is.
- 5:26Speaker 3: But is that one person I think in New York
- 5:29Speaker 3: is the HR department.
- 5:31Speaker 6: In a Q in a while that I had to
- 5:33Speaker 6: deal with them for management. But yeah, I think they
- 5:37Speaker 6: were in New York.
- 5:38Speaker 2: Yeah, we used we used to have an HR person here.
- 5:40Speaker 6: I think her name was Diane.
- 5:41Speaker 4: She was great.
- 5:43Speaker 3: She was she thought all the stupidity of the stuff
- 5:47Speaker 3: that people were complained about. We've got, oh man, We've
- 5:50Speaker 3: got stories that were absolutely her. We had was it
- 5:53Speaker 3: one of our editors who was absolutely hilarious On May
- 5:57Speaker 3: the fifths, every single to Mirow. She would come in
- 5:59Speaker 3: with this, the biggest sombrero you have ever seen in
- 6:02Speaker 3: her in your life. And she she was a white lady,
- 6:07Speaker 3: and uh, there was another white lady who had left
- 6:09Speaker 3: the station subsequent to that and was screaming racism and
- 6:14Speaker 3: how offended she was. Yeah, but you're white. Do you
- 6:17Speaker 3: understand you are white? It doesn't matter. I don't care.
- 6:21Speaker 3: Sombreros offend me. I guess some bears on people. Some
- 6:25Speaker 3: breras are only good for if you're working in a
- 6:28Speaker 3: mariachi band and you're in a Mexican restaurant.
- 6:30Speaker 4: Mexican. There's no Mexicans offended by that. It's only white.
- 6:34Speaker 2: There are no Mexicans that wear sombreros.
- 6:36Speaker 3: It's only white people another or not not, if you know,
- 6:39Speaker 3: if you know, if you're not playing in a bad
- 6:41Speaker 3: Mexican restaurant, a mariachian, you've.
- 6:44Speaker 6: Got to wear the sombrero. Otherwise you look silly sitting
- 6:46Speaker 6: on the fake donkey. Yeah, or I'm then gonna go there.
- 6:51Speaker 6: I'm not gonna I'm not.
- 6:53Speaker 4: Even gonna call the fake donkey you weirdo?
- 6:55Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 6:56Speaker 4: Okay, old Alvera Street reference.
- 6:59Speaker 6: Yes, I know.
- 7:00Speaker 3: Those were great. They took a little pony and uh no,
- 7:03Speaker 3: it was a donkey. It was a donkey that with
- 7:05Speaker 3: the paint stripes on it, so it looked like a zebra.
- 7:11Speaker 3: Well I have some picture though somewhere in there. Okay,
- 7:13Speaker 3: so why don't we do it?
- 7:15Speaker 6: Guys?
- 7:16Speaker 3: It's Friday, which means it's foody Friday at eight o'clock
- 7:20Speaker 3: ask candle anything at eight thirty and then tomorrow Neil
- 7:23Speaker 3: and I are going to be doing that event in
- 7:26Speaker 3: the Glenagel which I tell you about the rock the show.
- 7:28Speaker 6: Okay, Hey, why don't we call it felt Up Friday
- 7:30Speaker 6: because yesterday.
- 7:31Speaker 5: You know what that's come by and Bill will fill
- 7:34Speaker 5: you up.
- 7:34Speaker 6: Yeah you want to side boob hug, Yeah, you can
- 7:38Speaker 6: be okay that you can be filled up and felt up.
- 7:43Speaker 6: It's a tomorrow if you come by to our event,
- 7:46Speaker 6: guna Neguel, it'll be a fill and felt event.
- 7:49Speaker 2: Okay, let's move on.
- 7:51Speaker 3: It's time for Handle on the News with Amy, Neil
- 7:55Speaker 3: and me Lee. Sorry down well, starting today, as Amy
- 8:01Speaker 3: said during the news, the FAA has already ordered flights
- 8:06Speaker 3: to scale back two of the top I think five airports.
- 8:11Speaker 2: They're being affected at.
- 8:13Speaker 3: Lax and Burbank, which I wouldn't think Burbank. I think
- 8:19Speaker 3: Burbank's only regional airport that has been affected, if I'm
- 8:22Speaker 3: not mistaken. But it's going to start to hurt any
- 8:25Speaker 3: we're flying well. Veterans Day of course is going to
- 8:28Speaker 3: be affected. Now it's going to go through Thanksgiving, of
- 8:30Speaker 3: course not. I mean, can you imagine if this went
- 8:32Speaker 3: through Thanksgiving? So if anybody's flying out there, enjoy yourself.
- 8:36Speaker 3: I hope you like camping out it at the airports.
- 8:40Speaker 7: I think it is interesting to note, though they're starting it,
- 8:42Speaker 7: it's an incremental so it's not starting out with ten
- 8:45Speaker 7: percent today, It's starting out with four percent, and then
- 8:48Speaker 7: incrementally they're increasing it.
- 8:50Speaker 3: Let me here's a question I have. How much of
- 8:52Speaker 3: this is political? And not making the accusation it is political.
- 8:55Speaker 3: I mean, certainly the shutdown is political, but I'm talking
- 8:59Speaker 3: about the order to decrease the number of flights that
- 9:02Speaker 3: are going to be allowed, because I know what the
- 9:04Speaker 3: FAA and what Sean Duffy says, and he came up
- 9:07Speaker 3: with a b C D E and it made sense
- 9:09Speaker 3: by the way what he produced made a lot of sense.
- 9:12Speaker 3: I wonder if there is any political move because well,
- 9:17Speaker 3: actually the easiest, notaricular airports or something. Yeah, your areas.
- 9:21Speaker 3: I know LA has been hit. I mean California has
- 9:23Speaker 3: been hit pretty hard with Burbank, Ontario, San Francisco. I mean,
- 9:28Speaker 3: I I don't even know. Are the number of airports
- 9:31Speaker 3: relative to the size of the area that are effected. Yeah,
- 9:37Speaker 3: that's the first thing. Yeah, that's what I thought about it.
- 9:39Speaker 3: It may not be it, by the way, I'm not
- 9:40Speaker 3: making the accusation. I'm just saying that I would look
- 9:45Speaker 3: at it.
- 9:46Speaker 7: Duffy specifically said it was not based on politics, that
- 9:49Speaker 7: it was no numbers, and it was basic.
- 9:52Speaker 2: It was no I.
- 9:53Speaker 5: Understand on that.
- 9:54Speaker 6: No, I understand.
- 9:55Speaker 3: And by the way, we believe anything the administration says,
- 9:58Speaker 3: for example, christin Home, there are only arresting the worst
- 10:00Speaker 3: of the worst. Wait till next Wednesday. What I bring
- 10:03Speaker 3: Janette to the show? Yeah, you're going to shake your
- 10:07Speaker 3: head about the worst and the worst. Okay, moving on.
- 10:11Speaker 7: Well they're trying sort of. Senate Democrats had signaled that
- 10:15Speaker 7: they were prepared to block plans to force a Friday
- 10:19Speaker 7: vote to reopen the government until they get more commitments
- 10:22Speaker 7: on dealing with rising health care costs. So Senate Republican
- 10:26Speaker 7: leaders had said that they had been in discussions and
- 10:30Speaker 7: that they would hold votes on a newly drafted bill
- 10:33Speaker 7: to reopen the government, which had been written with input
- 10:35Speaker 7: from some Democrats, but it apparently didn't have the commitments
- 10:39Speaker 7: the Democrats wanted to resolve the expiring Affordable Care Acts subsidies.
- 10:44Speaker 7: Senate Majority leader John Thune said that in the deal,
- 10:47Speaker 7: they did promise that they would address the health care issue,
- 10:50Speaker 7: but apparently that wasn't enough.
- 10:52Speaker 3: Yeah, well, they don't believe them. The Democrats don't believe
- 10:55Speaker 3: soon and the Republicans on this. If you look at
- 10:56Speaker 3: the history, the part that I find the most interesting
- 10:59Speaker 3: about this is that the Republicans are still getting blamed
- 11:03Speaker 3: more so than the Democrats for this shutdown, even though
- 11:07Speaker 3: the Republicans have said, just let's just open the government
- 11:11Speaker 3: so people can get paid and then we'll talk about
- 11:13Speaker 3: the expansion of the temporary which we want to make
- 11:18Speaker 3: permanent expansion of Obamacare, and the Republicans saying you got
- 11:23Speaker 3: to eat, and the Democrats are saying it's too important
- 11:26Speaker 3: for medical care. And man, I would think the Democrats
- 11:30Speaker 3: are getting nailed more so than the Republicans. They're not,
- 11:33Speaker 3: and I find that fascinating. I'm sure that's gonna be
- 11:36Speaker 3: a whole lot of discussion prior to the shutdown, shutting down.
- 11:40Speaker 3: They're going to shut down the shutdown, which means they're
- 11:42Speaker 3: going to be open at some point, and that makes
- 11:43Speaker 3: a lot of sense.
- 11:44Speaker 6: Thank you very much.
- 11:46Speaker 4: Get paid. That's how I solve these things.
- 11:49Speaker 2: Yeah, no, that's true. That's true.
- 11:51Speaker 3: Conversations I have with An We put the show together,
- 11:55Speaker 3: just a little inside baseball here. We put the show together,
- 11:58Speaker 3: and then in the course of the show, I'll look
- 12:01Speaker 3: at something that's two segments. There's no way I want
- 12:04Speaker 3: to do this in one segment. So sometimes then we
- 12:07Speaker 3: put it aside. And that's what I'm gonna do with
- 12:10Speaker 3: a segment we just did, or we are going to
- 12:12Speaker 3: do about manufacturing here in the United States. It's fascinating
- 12:16Speaker 3: the history of manufacturing since World War Two and how
- 12:19Speaker 3: it relates to what's going on. So in the meantime,
- 12:22Speaker 3: Anne now has to look for another topic during the
- 12:24Speaker 3: course of the show, and we're playing around that. She goes,
- 12:27Speaker 3: how about this one. Four people have died at Disney
- 12:30Speaker 3: World recently. I went, oh yeah, death of Disney.
- 12:35Speaker 6: Oh yeah, man, we're.
- 12:37Speaker 2: Grabbing that one, aren't we.
- 12:40Speaker 6: Here's the bottom line, not salacious, but people here okay, right,
- 12:47Speaker 6: here's the bottom line.
- 12:49Speaker 3: You go to Disney and Neil will tell you. You
- 12:51Speaker 3: go to Disneyland or Disney World, you are going to die. Okay,
- 12:55Speaker 3: it is that simple.
- 12:56Speaker 4: You're stupid.
- 12:58Speaker 6: And you know what's really weird after you guys touched
- 13:01Speaker 6: each other yesterday during the hug because now it's one, Hey.
- 13:06Speaker 2: Babe, yeah babe, we need a new spot.
- 13:11Speaker 5: Honey money do you like the storry?
- 13:13Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 13:13Speaker 4: Sugar?
- 13:14Speaker 2: Okay, why don't we move on?
- 13:16Speaker 4: It's the dynamic has changed.
- 13:17Speaker 3: It is and is Anne was so jealous of me
- 13:20Speaker 3: having that kind of relationship with Neil she decided to
- 13:22Speaker 3: jump into it. Okay, okay, more so does Neil more
- 13:27Speaker 3: handle on the news with Amy and my little cupcakes.
- 13:35Speaker 3: It's Friday, guys, It's Friday, Amy, Neil and me.
- 13:38Speaker 4: He never hugs me like that at home.
- 13:40Speaker 6: All right, So President Donald Trump unveils a new deal
- 13:44Speaker 6: fatty fatty two by four, Neil might get through the
- 13:47Speaker 6: kitchen door because zep bound and Wagov might be cheap.
- 13:52Speaker 4: These glp ones that.
- 13:54Speaker 6: We know so much about now it was has been
- 13:57Speaker 6: all the rage originally for diabetes. These pills or shots
- 14:02Speaker 6: as the case, maybe help you lose weight, but they're
- 14:08Speaker 6: expensive as hell, not anymore.
- 14:10Speaker 4: Trump.
- 14:11Speaker 6: Trump unveils a deal to expand coverage and make people
- 14:14Speaker 6: pass out during press conferences to lower the cost. Oh yeah,
- 14:18Speaker 6: that's a great that's a great video.
- 14:19Speaker 3: And Robert Kennedy bailing out of there as quickly as possible.
- 14:23Speaker 3: We'll probably talk about that. But this is you can
- 14:26Speaker 3: catch fainting. That's true, that's very funny. This is Trump
- 14:29Speaker 3: at his best. I must tell you. Every other president
- 14:32Speaker 3: has tried to take on big pharma and has failed miserably.
- 14:37Speaker 3: And Trump came to the table and he basically took
- 14:40Speaker 3: the position of the presidency, which he does across the
- 14:43Speaker 3: board and crammed it down Eli, Lilly and Novo, Nords, Nordisk.
- 14:48Speaker 3: And he's done it. I mean, good for him.
- 14:50Speaker 6: He is the only president in recent memory in history
- 14:53Speaker 6: has been able to take on big pharma for the
- 14:56Speaker 6: benefit of the consumer.
- 14:57Speaker 4: I thought Biden was doing that before he.
- 14:59Speaker 6: Learned that, Like, but nothing like this, Oh ConA did Cono.
- 15:04Speaker 4: ConA just looked at me like jdie Vance.
- 15:07Speaker 3: Nothing I did. This is Biden did, but it was
- 15:10Speaker 3: only Medicare. It was Yeah, it was only Medicare, and
- 15:14Speaker 3: it was only it was going to be one hundred drugs,
- 15:17Speaker 3: and it was mainly diabetes diabetes medication. But this one,
- 15:22Speaker 3: this one is for everyone. I got to give them
- 15:25Speaker 3: credit on this one.
- 15:26Speaker 4: I really do. This may make it moot to need
- 15:29Speaker 4: the diabetes drugs.
- 15:30Speaker 3: Yes, well not really, but people still have diabetes me
- 15:34Speaker 3: not as a result of weight gain type too.
- 15:37Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:39Speaker 5: Watch out for ice or is it Ice?
- 15:43Speaker 7: The FBI is warning about people who've been impersonating ICE agents.
- 15:48Speaker 7: The bulletin by the FBI sites several examples in which
- 15:51Speaker 7: criminals have targeted victims after identifying themselves as immigration agents.
- 15:57Speaker 7: Some of them are wearing shirts or jackets with an
- 16:00Speaker 7: ICE label on them. There have been reports of threats, robberies, kidnappings,
- 16:04Speaker 7: even sexual assaults. The FBI says the impersonation scams make
- 16:08Speaker 7: it really hard for the community to distinguish between legitimate
- 16:11Speaker 7: and illegitimate immigration enforcement practices, even.
- 16:15Speaker 3: To the point where the folks at the Los Angeles
- 16:19Speaker 3: Ice Company are being asked not to wear their clothing
- 16:22Speaker 3: they're jackets. I just that didn't work at all, Not
- 16:25Speaker 3: even close Icy. Yeah, but one of the there you go,
- 16:29Speaker 3: it's the Icy's flag, right, it's the ICES flag.
- 16:33Speaker 5: This ICY is like an ICY you get it, like
- 16:36Speaker 5: a slurp novel.
- 16:37Speaker 2: I missed that, Okay, I missed that.
- 16:38Speaker 3: In any case, this is one where you know, ICE
- 16:41Speaker 3: does not readily put on their jackets and uniforms like
- 16:46Speaker 3: the FBI always has. FBI or police saw that they
- 16:49Speaker 3: make themselves known to everybody that this they are, this
- 16:52Speaker 3: law enforcement agency.
- 16:53Speaker 2: ICE doesn't do that.
- 16:54Speaker 3: Sometimes, as matter of fact, they do have jackets, don't
- 16:58Speaker 3: they They say ICE on the back, yeah.
- 17:00Speaker 6: Or they have bulletproof or the you know that have
- 17:03Speaker 6: the belcrow labeling on them and yeah.
- 17:06Speaker 3: But in this case, there are a lot of instances
- 17:10Speaker 3: of ICE not doing that, which means the impostors can
- 17:13Speaker 3: come in and do their craziness and take advantage. That's
- 17:16Speaker 3: and that's what this story is about. And the FBI
- 17:19Speaker 3: is saying that people are impersonating ICE ations. But how
- 17:22Speaker 3: do you know if the I Sation is not wearing
- 17:25Speaker 3: a jacket that clearly discerns that's a discernible that can
- 17:29Speaker 3: say that that person's I Sation.
- 17:31Speaker 6: I don't know the answer other than forcing the issue.
- 17:35Speaker 6: Catch you making id of any law enforcement?
- 17:38Speaker 3: Oh yeah, in the middle, yeah, in the middle of
- 17:40Speaker 3: a demonstration, You're being pushed against the wall, Rocks are
- 17:45Speaker 3: being thrown, pepper gas is being thrown.
- 17:47Speaker 2: Excuse me, officer, can I have your ID please?
- 17:49Speaker 6: I don't know that that's when these people are doing it.
- 17:52Speaker 6: My impression is that they're going to homes or going
- 17:54Speaker 6: to places of business or something. And that may be
- 17:56Speaker 6: the case.
- 17:56Speaker 3: But even but even even if that's the case, you
- 18:00Speaker 3: are looking at an ICE a potential or amputative ICE
- 18:04Speaker 3: agent who is not treating you well. Because that's another
- 18:06Speaker 3: story of the way ICE is treating people. You would
- 18:09Speaker 3: think that would be something to do, and that is
- 18:12Speaker 3: very legitimate. The circumstances don't allow it, not even close.
- 18:17Speaker 3: And by the way, you're supposed to be warned about,
- 18:20Speaker 3: I say, or people impersonating ICE agents.
- 18:22Speaker 4: Now what do you do? Yeah?
- 18:25Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, So I have someone who in front of
- 18:27Speaker 3: me may or may not be an ICE agent.
- 18:29Speaker 6: Now what do I do as I'm being thrown to
- 18:32Speaker 6: the ground or handcouts as an ICE agent? I put
- 18:34Speaker 6: you out and see what happens. All right, So the
- 18:38Speaker 6: Supreme Court apparently meeting behind closed doors today. I'm not
- 18:44Speaker 6: sure why you'd reconsider this, but it looks like they're
- 18:47Speaker 6: considering this long shot bid to overturn decades old same
- 18:52Speaker 6: sex marriage precedent.
- 18:54Speaker 3: And we don't know if they're going to accept this
- 18:58Speaker 3: just it's one of several cases. First they sit down
- 19:01Speaker 3: in meetings and decide whether.
- 19:02Speaker 2: They're going to hear these cases, and.
- 19:05Speaker 6: This one just to refresh people's memory. It's not like
- 19:07Speaker 6: they're just like going, hey, who do we want to
- 19:09Speaker 6: f with today. This all goes back to that pending
- 19:12Speaker 6: appeal that came from Kim Davis, who was that former
- 19:15Speaker 6: county clerk from Kentucky. She refused to issue marriage licenses
- 19:21Speaker 6: after the Supreme Court and its blockbuster twenty fifteen decisions.
- 19:25Speaker 6: So she's saying the time has come for course correction.
- 19:31Speaker 6: And yeah, that's what they's why they're looking. It's not
- 19:34Speaker 6: like they're flipping through a book now.
- 19:35Speaker 3: No, No, what would they do is they actually do
- 19:37Speaker 3: horse trading in terms of which cases are important to
- 19:40Speaker 3: which Supreme Court justices because they have different interests. So
- 19:43Speaker 3: they sit there, There's Clarence Thomas and Amy Barrick Cooney
- 19:47Speaker 3: and Clarence you give me two environmental ones and I'll
- 19:50Speaker 3: give you one. I'll give you one. Same sex marriage,
- 19:54Speaker 3: I'll give you a trade one. You give me two
- 19:56Speaker 3: of these.
- 19:56Speaker 4: They play poker.
- 19:59Speaker 6: And Clarence Thomas does anybody want to coke? And everyone
- 20:01Speaker 6: goes no, that's funny. I think anybody will remember the reference.
- 20:06Speaker 2: That's that's funny. Canna coke?
- 20:08Speaker 6: Okay.
- 20:08Speaker 3: But anyway, So, if I had to guess, I don't
- 20:10Speaker 3: think they're going to hear it.
- 20:11Speaker 2: That's just my guess. I may be dead wrong on
- 20:13Speaker 2: this one.
- 20:14Speaker 5: Why would they Why would they hear it? I mean,
- 20:18Speaker 5: it's settled law, Well, so was v.
- 20:21Speaker 3: Wade, And I think you have enough of a conservative
- 20:25Speaker 3: bent on that and not court that it's going to
- 20:27Speaker 3: look at these what are considered progressive moves by the
- 20:31Speaker 3: previous court.
- 20:32Speaker 2: Court used to be wildly liberal.
- 20:35Speaker 3: I mean the liberal part of the United States doesn't
- 20:38Speaker 3: remember that, you know, I mean screaming about conservative court.
- 20:42Speaker 3: It was wildly liberal. And hey, go ahead and bitch
- 20:46Speaker 3: all you want. You know, the president was electedn't look
- 20:49Speaker 3: at the constitution. That's just how it works.
- 20:53Speaker 7: Score one for the Trumpster. The Supreme Court has allowed
- 20:58Speaker 7: the administration to move ahead for now with a policy
- 21:02Speaker 7: that requires Americans passports to reflect the passport holders sex
- 21:07Speaker 7: at birth. The court said that it's basically the same
- 21:11Speaker 7: as putting down what the country's the person's country at
- 21:15Speaker 7: birth was.
- 21:16Speaker 2: Do you have to put that male or female on passport?
- 21:19Speaker 2: I don't even know.
- 21:23Speaker 5: You must have to.
- 21:24Speaker 6: I guess I should put my passport.
- 21:26Speaker 4: It's an id. Why would you not have to.
- 21:29Speaker 3: Because there's plenty of places refused to state. You can
- 21:32Speaker 3: do governmental not an official legal document.
- 21:35Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 21:37Speaker 3: Don't change a birth certificate, that's right, you can't still
- 21:41Speaker 3: do that, and that's the official document.
- 21:42Speaker 2: You're abslutely right about that.
- 21:43Speaker 3: In birth certificates are changed all the time, but step
- 21:46Speaker 3: parent adoptions are changing adoptions that sort of thing. The
- 21:49Speaker 3: question is you know whether the Trumpet, well, the Trump
- 21:52Speaker 3: administration is given that ability. Now it's what your gender
- 21:59Speaker 3: was at worth. They're saying. Here's the argument made in
- 22:01Speaker 3: front of the court is that this is merely a
- 22:04Speaker 3: historical statement. It has nothing to do with politics. It's
- 22:08Speaker 3: it's who you were and to give information. I don't
- 22:10Speaker 3: buy that because if you're coming in as a woman
- 22:13Speaker 3: and there's your passport, that says, you're male and you're
- 22:15Speaker 3: going to another country. Uh, don't you think you're at risk?
- 22:19Speaker 3: Not physically, not being arrested or anything, but just being
- 22:22Speaker 3: harassed in some countries you might be. That's exactly my point. Physically,
- 22:28Speaker 3: you know that's yeah, but that's my point. And so
- 22:30Speaker 3: I don't get the logic.
- 22:32Speaker 6: I don't you draw the line when you change your
- 22:34Speaker 6: plumbing when they go through this? Yeah, I agree, but
- 22:39Speaker 6: let me ask you who you are. But what if
- 22:40Speaker 6: you what have you done a partial change of your plumbing?
- 22:44Speaker 6: I know that there are there are men who become
- 22:47Speaker 6: women who do They don't do a full dichotomy.
- 22:52Speaker 3: Uh, they do a partial one. In other words, balls
- 22:55Speaker 3: are removed, No, the balls. Seriously, the balls are removed,
- 22:59Speaker 3: and they keep their ons. That's called the shwonse ectomy.
- 23:03Speaker 3: By the way, that really is a thing. It was
- 23:06Speaker 3: weird they do that.
- 23:08Speaker 2: They keep their they keep their junk, and yet they're
- 23:09Speaker 2: still women.
- 23:10Speaker 3: I don't get it. No, that's called marriage to you,
- 23:14Speaker 3: that's true. Yeah, where they still keep a penis. It
- 23:17Speaker 3: doesn't listen if the bike has a kickstand. I just
- 23:21Speaker 3: think that it causes complications. Anyway, This is basically this
- 23:25Speaker 3: is a win for the Trump administration with a very
- 23:27Speaker 3: conservative court.
- 23:28Speaker 2: That's the bottom line.
- 23:31Speaker 4: Well, good luck Conum.
- 23:33Speaker 6: All right, So Tesla, uh this they announced big general
- 23:38Speaker 6: meeting that they had in Austin, Texas. Shareholders approved CEO
- 23:42Speaker 6: Elon Musk's big pay package.
- 23:44Speaker 4: And what a package it is. Could reach one trillion.
- 23:49Speaker 6: Yeah, but it's the overall copenci But he has to
- 23:53Speaker 6: meet trillion, I know.
- 23:54Speaker 3: But he has to meet where Tesla would have to
- 23:57Speaker 3: become as a corporation, and the profits and the market share,
- 24:02Speaker 3: which is dropping by the way, would be so astronomical.
- 24:05Speaker 6: This is not.
- 24:07Speaker 4: After the results of this were announced.
- 24:09Speaker 3: I'm not arguing that people still believe in Tesla Car.
- 24:13Speaker 3: I had a Tesla Car.
- 24:14Speaker 2: I had. It lasted two weeks as far as I'm concerned.
- 24:17Speaker 4: Oh, they're beautiful machines, they are.
- 24:19Speaker 3: I never liked it. I never liked my Tesla. I
- 24:21Speaker 3: thought it was tenny. I didn't. I simply just didn't
- 24:24Speaker 3: like the way I drove. So I took a huge
- 24:27Speaker 3: hit on that Tesla too, A huge hit because I
- 24:30Speaker 3: bought the Tesla and then literally one week later, must
- 24:36Speaker 3: drop the price by twenty percent. That special, isn't it?
- 24:41Speaker 3: I got nailed on that car purpose. Yeah, you certainly
- 24:44Speaker 3: didn't either, real quickly. Tomorrow afternoon, two to five, please
- 24:50Speaker 3: join Neil and Me at his broadcast at the Wild
- 24:53Speaker 3: Fork Store in Laguna.
- 24:57Speaker 2: Miguel is thanks Grilling.
- 24:59Speaker 4: There'll be a lot some meat.
- 25:00Speaker 3: And grilling and free samples and giveaways, and Zelman's will
- 25:04Speaker 3: be there and giving out samples and what and they
- 25:07Speaker 3: have some show, some radio events.
- 25:11Speaker 4: Just great.
- 25:11Speaker 6: So please join us tomorrow afternoon from two to five
- 25:13Speaker 6: in lagun and Miguel.
- 25:15Speaker 3: Back we go more Handle on the News. We actually
- 25:17Speaker 3: finished Handle on the News with Amy Neil and Me.
- 25:19Speaker 5: No drugs still deadly.
- 25:22Speaker 7: Remember that semi truck driver who caused a allegedly caused a
- 25:26Speaker 7: chain reaction that killed three people in Ontario on the
- 25:29Speaker 7: ten last month. Well, he initially was going to be
- 25:33Speaker 7: facing DUI charges because prosecutors had said he was under
- 25:37Speaker 7: the influence of drugs. But now those DUI charges have
- 25:42Speaker 7: been dismissed against Josh and pret Singh. He's a twenty
- 25:45Speaker 7: one year old from Yuba City. Still he's facing vehicular
- 25:49Speaker 7: manslaughter charges because three people were still killed.
- 25:52Speaker 6: Yeah, he'll be deported to prison. He is deemed or
- 25:58Speaker 6: a story as he is ill illegally, You're not here illegally.
- 26:03Speaker 4: All right?
- 26:03Speaker 6: Bats shoot, Dozens of bats have been found in Los
- 26:07Speaker 6: Angeles County this year that have rabies, and the county
- 26:12Speaker 6: health officials caution residents and in case they come across one,
- 26:16Speaker 6: and you've got the Department of Public Health here in
- 26:20Speaker 6: LA County confirmed sixty one rabbid bats have been recorded
- 26:26Speaker 6: so far in twenty twenty five, and that's the second
- 26:28Speaker 6: highest since twenty twenty one, which is sixty eight rabbit bats.
- 26:32Speaker 3: Do you find a number of very small? I do,
- 26:34Speaker 3: but it could be simply the number that have been caught.
- 26:38Speaker 3: There must be zillions.
- 26:40Speaker 6: I have a calculation that if they come across a number,
- 26:43Speaker 6: then it means this many are a percentage or something.
- 26:46Speaker 6: But yeah, they maybe they use Nielsen ratings for bats.
- 26:49Speaker 4: If you find out one to many.
- 26:52Speaker 6: No, but when you go up to Big Bear like
- 26:55Speaker 6: at dusk, you can see them all over the place.
- 26:56Speaker 4: It's beautiful.
- 26:57Speaker 6: I love bats, but you know, I don't ever, Yeah,
- 27:01Speaker 6: not since I was a kid have I come close
- 27:03Speaker 6: to them, you know.
- 27:04Speaker 3: And the authority to say if you're in the same
- 27:06Speaker 3: room as a bat or you're near a bat, you
- 27:08Speaker 3: immediately go to the emergency room and you start getting
- 27:11Speaker 3: treated for rabies. Prophylactically, you get treated for rabis because
- 27:16Speaker 3: by the time symptoms happen, you're dead.
- 27:19Speaker 6: All right.
- 27:20Speaker 7: Oh, the airlines say, no flight, no problem. So United
- 27:25Speaker 7: Airlines CEO is promising to refund customers who don't want
- 27:29Speaker 7: to fly during these flight restrictions imposed by the FAA.
- 27:35Speaker 5: The Kirk Scott Kirby's the CEO.
- 27:37Speaker 7: He said that any customer is eligible for a refund
- 27:39Speaker 7: while the reductions are in effect, even if the flight
- 27:42Speaker 7: isn't impacted, and the offer does include non refundable and
- 27:46Speaker 7: basic economy tickets. Good for them, yes, and I think
- 27:50Speaker 7: a couple other airlines have said that they're gonna do
- 27:52Speaker 7: that too.
- 27:52Speaker 2: Good for them.
- 27:53Speaker 3: Now, what happens if you fly and you get food poisoning,
- 27:57Speaker 3: which happens regularly on these airlines. It does not I know,
- 28:01Speaker 3: although the food is not wonderful, you have to admit
- 28:05Speaker 3: airplane food is not spectacular.
- 28:07Speaker 5: I had a really great sandwich the other day on
- 28:09Speaker 5: the flight.
- 28:11Speaker 2: That's because you had a cold in your taste.
- 28:12Speaker 4: Budes Roth, no force for you.
- 28:17Speaker 6: A federal judge in Shytown, Chicago said yesterday that they're
- 28:24Speaker 6: putting in an extensive injuct injunction rather restricting federal agents
- 28:29Speaker 6: and their use of force. So this is dealing with
- 28:33Speaker 6: border patrol agents, ice and the like, and the district
- 28:38Speaker 6: judge said that they see little reason for the use
- 28:41Speaker 6: of force that federal agents have been currently using.
- 28:50Speaker 7: Business is booming at Airbnb. Airbnb has logged another quarter
- 28:55Speaker 7: of sales growth. Travel demand strengthened in the third quarter
- 28:59Speaker 7: of this year continued on into October. Customers apparently are
- 29:03Speaker 7: booking their travel further in advance, which is a turnaround
- 29:08Speaker 7: from last year when everybody's kind of waiting till the
- 29:10Speaker 7: last second because of economic uncertainties.
- 29:12Speaker 2: Have you have you booked airbnbs? I haven't. I've never
- 29:15Speaker 2: booked one.
- 29:15Speaker 4: Oh yeah I have Italy, I have in many places.
- 29:18Speaker 5: I haven't done that internationally. That freaks me out, but
- 29:20Speaker 5: I know a lot of people do it.
- 29:22Speaker 3: Oh no, it was great. I have never done that.
- 29:25Speaker 3: I always do overseas. It's always hotels.
- 29:28Speaker 2: That's good. You like to be pampered, Yeah, if you.
- 29:34Speaker 6: Pick the right one, it can be really really yeah,
- 29:37Speaker 6: but it's you know, you go to an Airbnb.
- 29:38Speaker 3: You're going into a house, right, Yeah, but then I
- 29:42Speaker 3: assume may give you a procedures manuals. Here's how to
- 29:44Speaker 3: work the TV, how to work Yeah, I see, I
- 29:47Speaker 3: have to learn a house, and it just it takes
- 29:50Speaker 3: a while. I mean, you're hours just figuring out how
- 29:52Speaker 3: things work.
- 29:53Speaker 6: Often have libraries and all kinds of things, and coffee
- 29:57Speaker 6: makers and the whole bit.
- 29:58Speaker 3: I know, but even learning how to a coffee maker.
- 30:00Speaker 3: There are coffee makers, and I you have to wear.
- 30:03Speaker 4: It's somebody with general brain power.
- 30:08Speaker 6: Hey, uh with Burger one of my favorite joints coming
- 30:12Speaker 6: to uh Dodger Stadium. I love Habit Burger and grilled
- 30:15Speaker 6: they do wonderful food. But they're going to have a
- 30:18Speaker 6: concession stand. They're at Chavez Ravine, They're going to be
- 30:21Speaker 6: in center Field Plaza, and they're going to grill them
- 30:25Speaker 6: over an open flame, which is fantastic.
- 30:28Speaker 3: Yeah. Last time I went to a Dodgers game, and
- 30:30Speaker 3: now we're talking a million years ago, it was Dodger
- 30:33Speaker 3: dogs and peanuts and soda and beer. Well that and
- 30:36Speaker 3: this now yeah, yeah, now the food has gotten pretty impressive,
- 30:43Speaker 3: insanely expensive.
- 30:44Speaker 5: I would think Dodger dogs are still like eight bucks.
- 30:49Speaker 3: Okay, so that's not bad. It's Bucks, yeah, Costco. It's
- 30:53Speaker 3: a buck fifty including a drink for a not so
- 30:58Speaker 3: Dodger dog. Okay, we're done. KF I am six p forty.
- 31:03Speaker 2: You've been listening to The Bill Handle Show.
