Latest / Sidekick's What Just Shipped / Design a landing page in Claude, send it to HubSpot | Shipped Aug 2026
Transcript
- Dana (AI host): You describe a landing page in a chat, Claude designs it, and one click later it's sitting in HubSpot as a draft. Rob (AI host): HubSpot says Claude even pulls in your products and brand context while it designs. Dana (AI host): Stay for the one habit that decides whether your edits ever reach HubSpot: press Send, don't just ask. Narrator (AI voice): This is Sidekick's What Just Shipped, presented by Sidekick Strategies. Narrator (AI voice): Your hosts, Rob and Dana, are AI. Narrator (AI voice): The voices are synthetic, the research is real, and humans check every claim before it reaches you. Dana (AI host): Full disclosure up front: Rob and I are AI hosts talking about another AI tool. Dana (AI host): We haven't built a page with it, and we're reading HubSpot's help articles on Claude Design and on the Claude connector. Rob (AI host): Which makes me the human in the room, sort of, and today I'm playing the entire marketing team at a small credit union, and I build every campaign page myself. Dana (AI host): Then you're the target listener. Dana (AI host): HubSpot's August product updates say you can build landing pages in Claude Design using your HubSpot context, then push them to HubSpot as a draft to review and publish. Rob (AI host): Claude Design is what, exactly? Dana (AI host): It's a design space inside Claude. Dana (AI host): HubSpot's help article says you open Claude on desktop or at claude dot A I, and click Design in the bottom left. Rob (AI host): And what does it actually know about our credit union? Dana (AI host): HubSpot says Claude references your products, brand context, and existing content when it generates designs. Dana (AI host): So you're not starting from a blank template. Rob (AI host): Okay, that's a better start than my usual. Dana (AI host): The draft part matters too. Dana (AI host): After you send a page, it shows up in HubSpot as a draft, where you review it and publish it. Dana (AI host): Nothing goes live on its own. Rob (AI host): What do I need before any of this works? Dana (AI host): Two things. Dana (AI host): You need the HubSpot connector for Claude set up, and you need a Claude Pro, Max, Team, or Enterprise plan. Dana (AI host): HubSpot's August post says the integration requires a paid Claude plan. Rob (AI host): So my free Claude account is out. What about the HubSpot side? Dana (AI host): The connector help article, updated in October, is marked for all products and plans. Dana (AI host): You need an active HubSpot user account and an active Claude account. Rob (AI host): Can anyone on our team connect it? Dana (AI host): Super Admins, and users with App Marketplace Access permissions, can connect it without prior approval. Dana (AI host): Everyone else needs a Super Admin to approve the connector first. Dana (AI host): During approval, the Super Admin picks which data it can reach and who can install it. Rob (AI host): Good. That's a real gate. Dana (AI host): So walk through it with me. Dana (AI host): In Claude Design, you create a landing page and make your changes. Dana (AI host): When it's ready, click Share in the top right, then More formats and apps. Dana (AI host): Next to HubSpot, click Send. Rob (AI host): And if HubSpot isn't on that list of destinations yet, because nobody connected it? Dana (AI host): Pick the option labeled Connect more destinations, then link the HubSpot connector for Claude. Dana (AI host): Then the page goes to HubSpot as a draft. Dana (AI host): Review it there, and publish when it's ready. Rob (AI host): Can I keep tweaking after I send it? Dana (AI host): Yes. Dana (AI host): Keep editing in Claude Design, then use the Send button again to update the page in HubSpot. Rob (AI host): Does it work from the Claude app on my phone? Dana (AI host): The connector itself works on Claude's web, desktop, and mobile versions. Dana (AI host): But the Design steps HubSpot lists begin in Claude on desktop, or at claude dot A I. Dana (AI host): Here's a hypothetical. A made-up marketer, Tasha, needs a page for a fall home loan webinar. Dana (AI host): She describes the audience and the offer, adjusts the headline in Claude Design, sends it, and her manager reviews the draft in HubSpot before anything is public. Rob (AI host): Nice, no copy and paste. Dana (AI host): And because it lands as a draft, her manager can still read every word in HubSpot before it goes public. Dana (AI host): One more fine-print note: everything Claude does through the connector is subject to HubSpot's API usage limits. Dana (AI host): Why it matters: every handoff between a design tool and your website costs time, and that's where pages slip. Rob (AI host): Who gets the most from it? Dana (AI host): Our research points to small marketing teams without a designer, demand generation marketers running lots of campaigns, admins who want fewer tools, and agencies building pages for clients. George B. Thomas (AI voice clone): Hey, it's George B. Thomas from Sidekick Strategies. George B. Thomas (AI voice clone): Full honesty, this is my AI voice clone, made with my permission. George B. Thomas (AI voice clone): Your team designs with AI now, and your buyers ask an AI assistant about you before they ever talk to your team. George B. Thomas (AI voice clone): Our Agent Readiness work makes your website readable and quotable by the AI assistants they already use, while a human still makes the decision. George B. Thomas (AI voice clone): We built it on our own site first, so you can test it before you trust it. George B. Thomas (AI voice clone): It's under services at Sidekick Strategies dot com. Rob (AI host): Dana, before I try this, what are the rules? Dana (AI host): Three of them, straight from HubSpot's help article. Dana (AI host): First, landing pages are the only supported asset type. Not emails, not blog posts. Rob (AI host): Second? Dana (AI host): Updates travel through the Send button in Claude Design. Dana (AI host): If you ask Claude in chat to update the page, those changes won't reach HubSpot. Rob (AI host): Oof, that's a sneaky one. Dana (AI host): Third, if you've already published the page in HubSpot, sending again from Claude Design creates a new version instead of overwriting the published one. Rob (AI host): So finish editing before I publish. Dana (AI host): Right. Treat publish as the finish line. Dana (AI host): After that, every new send makes another version in HubSpot. Dana (AI host): Right. One more from the connector article. Dana (AI host): When Claude reviews your landing pages, only published pages have performance data. Dana (AI host): For drafts, it only sees the page metadata. Rob (AI host): Did our August write-up get anything wrong? Dana (AI host): It holds up well against HubSpot's article. Dana (AI host): One stretch: it says these pages live in Content Hub and inherit your domain settings, reporting, and A/B testing. Dana (AI host): HubSpot's article doesn't say that, so check the draft's settings yourself. Rob (AI host): So the rest holds up? Dana (AI host): It does. Dana (AI host): The steps, the paid plan requirement, the Send button rule, and the new-version rule all match HubSpot's article. Rob (AI host): Okay. Give me the first week. Dana (AI host): Step one: ask your Super Admin to approve the HubSpot connector for Claude, and check which data it can reach. Rob (AI host): Step two: confirm you're on a paid Claude plan, not the free one. Dana (AI host): Step three: build one low-stakes page and send it as a draft. Rob (AI host): Step four: make every edit in Claude Design, then press Send, not chat. Dana (AI host): Step five: review the draft in HubSpot, check its settings, and only then publish. Rob (AI host): Credit union verdict: I'd use it for first drafts of campaign pages, as long as a human approves every draft before it goes live. Dana (AI host): Here's your homework: find out who approves Claude connectors in your HubSpot account. Rob (AI host): Both HubSpot help articles, the August update, and our research are in the show notes, plus more at Sidekick Strategies dot com. Dana (AI host): Thanks for listening, and enjoy that first draft. Rob (AI host): Design in Claude, press Send. Narrator (AI voice): Sidekick's What Just Shipped is presented by Sidekick Strategies, with AI hosts Rob and Dana and AI-generated music. Narrator (AI voice): We're independent, and not affiliated with HubSpot. Find our research at Sidekick Strategies dot com.
