- 0:00Speaker 1: Mister New York Mark Simone wr wa Hey a lot
- 0:10Speaker 1: to get through this hour. So our crazy mayor, crazy
- 0:13Speaker 1: mayor Mom Donnie targeting billionaires. He targets Ken Griffith. Everybody,
- 0:18Speaker 1: Ken Griffin, everybody just thought it was the creepiest video,
- 0:23Speaker 1: especially Ken Griffin. Where Mom Donnie stands outside of Ken
- 0:26Speaker 1: Griffin's house tells everybody where he lives, makes him a target.
- 0:30Speaker 1: You know, this is a couple of blocks from where
- 0:32Speaker 1: the healthcare CEO was shot by Luigi Mangione. Griffin finally
- 0:39Speaker 1: fights back and argues about how creepy it was, how
- 0:42Speaker 1: awful it was for a mayor to take a private
- 0:45Speaker 1: citizen and target him and demonize him. And this is
- 0:50Speaker 1: Ken Griffin who spent about the three billion in taxes
- 0:53Speaker 1: here and in addition to paying three billion in taxes,
- 0:57Speaker 1: gave to charity here in New York, donated to charities
- 1:00Speaker 1: just here in New York about seven hundred million. He's
- 1:04Speaker 1: building a new project fifty second in Park. It's going
- 1:07Speaker 1: to be a big skyscraper, six thousand construction jobs for
- 1:11Speaker 1: the next five years and then fifteen thousand permanent jobs.
- 1:17Speaker 1: So this kind of guy you want your city. In fact,
- 1:19Speaker 1: if you're the mayor, he should be calling this guy
- 1:21Speaker 1: saying anything we can do to help, thank you for
- 1:23Speaker 1: building this here, What can we do to help? That's
- 1:26Speaker 1: what you're supposed to do. So now we're not sure
- 1:29Speaker 1: if this project's going to continue. Ken Griffin saying that
- 1:33Speaker 1: he may scale down New York's stuff and make more
- 1:38Speaker 1: stuff in Miami. They did this to him Chicago. A
- 1:41Speaker 1: crazy left wing mayor demonized him, targeted him, and he
- 1:44Speaker 1: closed down every business, everything he had in Chicago, that's
- 1:47Speaker 1: where he lived. He closed it all up, moved it
- 1:50Speaker 1: to Miami, and he himself moved to Miami. So Mom,
- 1:53Speaker 1: Donnie finally responded to Ken Griffin.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Now I want all New Yorkers to succeed. That includes
- 1:59Speaker 2: business owners and entrepreneurs who create good paying jobs, who
- 2:03Speaker 2: make this city the economic engine not just of our state,
- 2:06Speaker 2: but frankly of our country. And that also includes Ken Griffin,
- 2:09Speaker 2: who is a major employer in our city. That does
- 2:13Speaker 2: not negate the fact, however, that our tax system is
- 2:16Speaker 2: fundamentally broken. It rewards extreme wealth while working people are
- 2:20Speaker 2: pushed to the brink. It is a status quo that
- 2:23Speaker 2: is unsustainable, that is unjust, and if we want the
- 2:27Speaker 2: city to be one that working people can actually afford
- 2:30Speaker 2: to live in, then we need meaningful tax reform that
- 2:33Speaker 2: includes the wealthiest New Yorkers paying their fair share.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Now, everything he's saying is totally erroneous. He's just full
- 2:40Speaker 1: of crap. And it's not that he intends to lie.
- 2:43Speaker 1: He's just like a goofy college kid. He's a college
- 2:46Speaker 1: kid on the college debating team. You know, a kid
- 2:48Speaker 1: who's never worked in the real world, never had a job,
- 2:51Speaker 1: never run anything, never managed anything. And the part about
- 2:54Speaker 1: our tax system rewards the wealthy not at all. In fact,
- 2:58Speaker 1: under our tax system the way it's set up, though
- 3:00Speaker 1: wealthy pay waight beyond their fair share. They pay all
- 3:03Speaker 1: of it. You know, the top one percent pays like
- 3:07Speaker 1: forty percent of our taxes. The top one percent pays
- 3:11Speaker 1: like forty percent of our taxes. You know, if you're
- 3:14Speaker 1: a billionaire in New York, you're paying like fifty six
- 3:17Speaker 1: percent in taxes between federal, state, local. It's actually unethical,
- 3:23Speaker 1: immoral to take fifty six percent of anybody's money for
- 3:27Speaker 1: any reason. Why taxes should be ten percent thirty percent
- 3:31Speaker 1: for everybody, ten percent thirty percent for a billionaire there's
- 3:35Speaker 1: no way on earth you should ever be justified in
- 3:38Speaker 1: taking fifty six percent of somebody's money. And that's why
- 3:42Speaker 1: is Steve Moore reported last hour here that so many
- 3:47Speaker 1: people have left New York and they've moved to, you know,
- 3:50Speaker 1: tax fre estates. They've moved to Florida and Texas. And
- 3:54Speaker 1: as he pointed out, the Blue States have lost two
- 3:58Speaker 1: trillion dollars to the Red States. Two trillion has left
- 4:04Speaker 1: the Blue States and gone to the Red States. Now again,
- 4:09Speaker 1: Democrats don't follow the science. Just look at the science.
- 4:13Speaker 1: Look at what they do in these red states. They
- 4:14Speaker 1: have no state income tax. They make it up with
- 4:16Speaker 1: property tax and other kinds of tax. But they're flourishing,
- 4:20Speaker 1: they have budget surpluses. Their budgets do much better than
- 4:25Speaker 1: our budgets. When you do these crazy tax they're rich things.
- 4:28Speaker 1: You not only destroy your economy, but you got no
- 4:31Speaker 1: income coming in the revenue. Good drops down. It's just
- 4:34Speaker 1: simple science. We've experimented on it thousands and thousands of times.
- 4:38Speaker 1: All you gotta do is look at it. Then you
- 4:41Speaker 1: got the other problem with Mom Donnie. As we mentioned before,
- 4:45Speaker 1: the Parky synagogue targeted by violent radicals anti Semitic violent radicals.
- 4:51Speaker 1: The police did what they could, but Mom Donnie let
- 4:54Speaker 1: it go on and on. These guys did the same
- 4:56Speaker 1: thing in Nasa County. Bruce Blakeman sent the police to
- 4:59Speaker 1: stock them and the whole thing was over in fifteen minutes.
- 5:02Speaker 1: Mam Donnie not only didn't do that, he defended them
- 5:05Speaker 1: as I mean some kind of some kind of rights
- 5:07Speaker 1: under international law, even though there is no such thing
- 5:10Speaker 1: as international law. But when it comes to Jews, Mom Donnie,
- 5:15Speaker 1: he'll try to say that he's not anti Semitic, he's
- 5:19Speaker 1: clearly anti Israel. But well, here he is.
- 5:22Speaker 2: And we have to ensure that Jewish New Yorkers are
- 5:26Speaker 2: safe in this city, and frankly, that the threshold is
- 5:29Speaker 2: not just out of safety, but that they are celebrated
- 5:31Speaker 2: and cherished just as any other New Yorker.
- 5:33Speaker 1: Is that means I'm violent. Thugs show up at the
- 5:37Speaker 1: synagogue to terrorized Jews, and Mom Donnie does not arrest
- 5:41Speaker 1: them and carry them away. So there's another billionaire, Steve Roth.
- 5:45Speaker 1: He's one of the great builders in New York. He
- 5:47Speaker 1: built a lot of stuff all over New York, all
- 5:50Speaker 1: over the place. He's got to build huts and yards,
- 5:52Speaker 1: among other things. So he is jumping in to defend
- 5:56Speaker 1: Ken Griffin. Hopefully these guys all band together and do
- 5:59Speaker 1: something about Mom Donnie. But Steve Roth pointing out the
- 6:03Speaker 1: way he targeted Ken Griffin and the way he targets
- 6:07Speaker 1: billionaires and the way he talks about him, with the ugly,
- 6:11Speaker 1: sneering way that he talks about these billionaires is equivalent
- 6:15Speaker 1: to a racial slur. It's bigotry. It's not like these
- 6:20Speaker 1: guys don't pay taxes. They pay more taxes than they should.
- 6:23Speaker 1: They pay more taxes than anybody. Again, the top one
- 6:26Speaker 1: percent pays forty percent of our taxes, thirty eight percent
- 6:30Speaker 1: actually of our taxes. It's insane to go after them
- 6:33Speaker 1: like that. But it's out and out bigotry. And you
- 6:36Speaker 1: know Democrats, when they come up with a narrative, they
- 6:39Speaker 1: just go crazy and they'll give you that, well, we
- 6:44Speaker 1: never said Trump is Hitler. Yeah you did? You call
- 6:46Speaker 1: Trump and Nazi Hitler? A million times they make up
- 6:49Speaker 1: this narrative. It becomes a chance. Here, take a listen,
- 6:51Speaker 1: here's democrats. These are all major famous Democrats.
- 6:54Speaker 2: Comparing the tactics of Donald Trump to Mussolini and Hitler.
- 7:00Speaker 3: That's a very legitimate thing.
- 7:02Speaker 1: Donald Trump's got this big rally going at Madison Square Garden.
- 7:06Speaker 1: There's a direct parallel to a big rally that happened
- 7:09Speaker 1: in the mid nineteen thirties at Madison Square Garden.
- 7:11Speaker 2: We have a Timu Hitler in the White House right
- 7:14Speaker 2: now that thinks that he is going to become the
- 7:16Speaker 2: dictator of the United States.
- 7:19Speaker 1: This goes on for like twenty minutes. I don't need
- 7:20Speaker 1: to play the whole thing for you. You remember that when
- 7:22Speaker 1: they did a rally at Madison Square Garden. If you're
- 7:25Speaker 1: coming to the middle of New York, Manhattan, you want
- 7:27Speaker 1: to do a rally, what more logical place? Where else
- 7:29Speaker 1: would you do it? Well, you could do it at
- 7:31Speaker 1: Radio City. Madison Square Garden makes more sense, but it's
- 7:34Speaker 1: more seats. But they said, well, that's because the Nazis
- 7:38Speaker 1: had a rally there in nineteen thirty eight, that you're
- 7:40Speaker 1: obviously a Nazi. Everybody had a rally at Madison Square Garden.
- 7:44Speaker 1: The Clinton's everybody, you know, the Democrats twice, two different times,
- 7:48Speaker 1: held their convention at Madison Square Garden. Billy Joels at
- 7:53Speaker 1: Madison Square Garden. He was there every month. I make
- 7:55Speaker 1: him a Nazi. I mean, it was absolutely ridiculous. This
- 7:58Speaker 1: stuff that concoct drill into people's heads. So when you
- 8:03Speaker 1: can't believe you're democratic, friends, the crazy things they spew,
- 8:07Speaker 1: Remember they're just watching MSNBC, CNN all day, reading the
- 8:11Speaker 1: New York Times. They hear all this crazy stuff and
- 8:13Speaker 1: they start to believe it. Speaking of which, we lost
- 8:18Speaker 1: the founder of CNN, Ted Turner, who was a great guy.
- 8:22Speaker 1: He was when he created CNN. He was a conservative
- 8:27Speaker 1: and he wanted it totally neutral. And when he created CNN,
- 8:30Speaker 1: he kept it totally neutral. When it started, it was
- 8:32Speaker 1: just straight news. But it's interesting before CNN, all of
- 8:38Speaker 1: our news, from the networks, from the New York Times,
- 8:41Speaker 1: all of our news was controlled by the Northeast establishment,
- 8:45Speaker 1: who were pretty much liberals. The Northeast establishment controlled every
- 8:50Speaker 1: bit of our television news and most of our magazine
- 8:53Speaker 1: newspaper news. So people got crazy with Ted Turner because
- 8:57Speaker 1: here's a guy from the South who they thought was
- 9:00Speaker 1: a conservative. He wasn't slightly to the right of center.
- 9:03Speaker 1: He was a conservative, but they went nuts the idea
- 9:06Speaker 1: of somebody outside of the Northeast establishment putting together a
- 9:10Speaker 1: news organization they tried to stop him, they attacked him,
- 9:13Speaker 1: they badmouthed him. And for many years CNN was a
- 9:16Speaker 1: pretty legitimate news organization. It was pretty fair and balanced.
- 9:19Speaker 1: But in the beginning, Ted Turner got all this flack,
- 9:24Speaker 1: so he hired a CBS News legend, Daniel Shore, CBS News.
- 9:29Speaker 1: He had to go hire Daniel Shore, a liberal CBS
- 9:32Speaker 1: News guy, to be one of his top guys, to
- 9:35Speaker 1: reassure people it wasn't going to be a conservative from
- 9:39Speaker 1: the South. Now, you know, a lot of people point
- 9:41Speaker 1: to CNN going bad. For most of the time, it
- 9:45Speaker 1: was pretty down the middle, pretty straightforward. It went so
- 9:49Speaker 1: far to the left. One of the peak things people
- 9:52Speaker 1: point to is CNN came from Atlanta. It was done
- 9:56Speaker 1: from Atlanta. They had a New York operation, new York
- 9:59Speaker 1: studios New York had, but probably the majority of it
- 10:02Speaker 1: came from the Atlanta studios in headquarters. And that made
- 10:06Speaker 1: a difference because the CNN people, the executives, the writers,
- 10:09Speaker 1: the broadcasters, the report they were in Atlanta. They were
- 10:12Speaker 1: in the middle of America. They were in the heartland.
- 10:15Speaker 1: They weren't in left wing DC and left wing Manhattan.
- 10:20Speaker 1: So when they closed down that Atlanta Bureau and just
- 10:22Speaker 1: did everything for Manhattan. It definitely took a big, big
- 10:26Speaker 1: turn to the left. But Turner, he's been in bad
- 10:30Speaker 1: shape the last few years. He's said dementia and other things.
- 10:34Speaker 1: So I don't think he knew what really happened to
- 10:36Speaker 1: CNN and how bad it got. But I can't imagine
- 10:41Speaker 1: he would have wanted that. He kind of got pushed
- 10:43Speaker 1: out of everything. CNN became part of Time Warner, and yeah,
- 10:48Speaker 1: Time Warner bought it, and then Time Warner became this
- 10:51Speaker 1: big conglomerate, and then they wanted to buy AOL. I
- 10:55Speaker 1: think Turner didn't like the AOL deal, but by then
- 10:58Speaker 1: he had been pushed out, just shoved him out of
- 11:02Speaker 1: the company. Here, as you know, I've.
- 11:04Speaker 3: Kind of been squeezed out a Time Warner, out of
- 11:07Speaker 3: management roll over the last years.
- 11:09Speaker 1: I don't know why they did it.
- 11:10Speaker 3: I think I was still performing pretty well.
- 11:12Speaker 2: We were making our budgets.
- 11:14Speaker 3: We made him billions. They they threw it away with AOL.
- 11:17Speaker 1: But that wasn't completely my fault. It pushed him out.
- 11:22Speaker 1: He was married to Jane Fonda. That was like the
- 11:25Speaker 1: love of his life, Jane Fonda.
- 11:26Speaker 3: For me, it was love at first sight. So we
- 11:33Speaker 3: got married and had a great marriage for ten years.
- 11:37Speaker 3: At least I thought it was great.
- 11:39Speaker 1: Yeah, and then he did a lot of us at movies,
- 11:41Speaker 1: Hollywood all that stuff. This is a hoot for me.
- 11:44Speaker 3: I'm really excited about it.
- 11:46Speaker 2: Uh.
- 11:47Speaker 3: You know, I didn't get it get here for by
- 11:50Speaker 3: acting ability, even though I had a cameo appearance in
- 11:53Speaker 3: both Gettysburg and and Gods in Generals.
- 11:56Speaker 1: Yeah. Ted Turner, who was also let's not forget the
- 12:01Speaker 1: sports side of Ted Turner. You know it was a
- 12:02Speaker 1: great sportsman. He was a big sailor. He was always
- 12:07Speaker 1: I think he won too, the America's Cup Race, the
- 12:09Speaker 1: sailing race, big part of his life. And then when
- 12:12Speaker 1: he made a fortune with everything, he bought the Atlanta
- 12:15Speaker 1: Braves and he bought another team, but didn't the Atlanta
- 12:18Speaker 1: Braves win the World Series I think under Ted Turner. Yeah,
- 12:22Speaker 1: so got to give him credit. How many guys buy
- 12:25Speaker 1: a team, a baseball team and then win the World Series?
- 12:29Speaker 1: Steve Cohen, how many guys do that? It's not easy
- 12:32Speaker 1: to do. But he was just an amazing guy. Dead
- 12:35Speaker 1: yesterday at the age of eighty seven. Also, it should
- 12:38Speaker 1: be pointed out phenomenal philanthropist gave away I think like
- 12:42Speaker 1: one point four billion in his lifetime. The only one
- 12:46Speaker 1: I didn't like re membery gave that ridiculous amount of money,
- 12:49Speaker 1: hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of millions to the UN.
- 12:54Speaker 1: But outside of that, there were pretty good donations. Hey,
- 12:57Speaker 1: they're always looking for revenue everywhere in New York and
- 13:00Speaker 1: they want to tax people. You know what you got
- 13:03Speaker 1: to do. Just tax every bicycle, every electric scooter. Just
- 13:09Speaker 1: tax them. You know they just drive around with no
- 13:11Speaker 1: license nothing. Make them get licenses. You can charge money
- 13:16Speaker 1: a yearly renewal for the license. Start ticketing them. That's
- 13:20Speaker 1: what I mean by tax them. Just ticket them. They're
- 13:22Speaker 1: always up on the sidewalk, they're always going through lights,
- 13:24Speaker 1: they're always in the wrong lane. Just start ticketing them.
- 13:27Speaker 1: The other thing is those stupid petty cabs. Actually just
- 13:30Speaker 1: get rid of those things or restrict them to Central Park.
- 13:33Speaker 1: But these New York City petty caps are a traffic nightmare.
- 13:38Speaker 1: They're always blaring that loud music. New York state of
- 13:42Speaker 1: mind is always blaring out there driving by their mostly
- 13:45Speaker 1: illegals running those things. But the city is now talking
- 13:49Speaker 1: about actually the city Council is looking at cracking down
- 13:53Speaker 1: on those petty cabs because they're also robbing people left
- 13:56Speaker 1: and right. They're just outing out. I can't say all
- 13:58Speaker 1: of them, but many of them are out and out crooks.
- 14:02Speaker 1: City Council's trying to put together legislation to beef up
- 14:05Speaker 1: the oversight require meters. Do you know sometimes they charge tourists.
- 14:10Speaker 1: A tourist gets in, you know, another country that barely
- 14:13Speaker 1: knows the language, and they end up charging them a
- 14:15Speaker 1: thousand dollars. They menace them and demand one thousand dollars.
- 14:19Speaker 1: It's been going on all the time, and there's about
- 14:23Speaker 1: they say there's about eight hundred and fifty of them licensed.
- 14:26Speaker 1: There's eight hundred and fifty licensed petticaps, but they believe
- 14:32Speaker 1: there's another fifteen hundred unlicensed operating all over Manhattan. That's unbelievable.
- 14:39Speaker 1: So you want some revenue, go after these guys. If
- 14:41Speaker 1: they're charging people one thousand dollars, go after them. Hey,
- 14:45Speaker 1: if you're a pizza lover or bagel lover. A lot
- 14:49Speaker 1: of people got very upset at this story that came
- 14:52Speaker 1: out yesterday. The is it also the city council? Yeah,
- 14:56Speaker 1: the City of New York wants to ban and a
- 15:01Speaker 1: couple ingredients that are used in all bagels and all pizza.
- 15:05Speaker 1: They feel it can cause cancer. New York state lawmakers
- 15:09Speaker 1: want to ban this ingredient. It's in every pizza and
- 15:13Speaker 1: in every bagel. It's potassium bromate. Now, I've asked pizza makers,
- 15:21Speaker 1: bagel makers. They all say it shouldn't affect anything. They
- 15:24Speaker 1: don't believe it'll change the taste of anything. It's used
- 15:28Speaker 1: to help the flower rise, so unless they find a
- 15:32Speaker 1: suitable replacement, it could affect the texture. But these guys
- 15:35Speaker 1: don't think it's going to affect the taste. And let's
- 15:37Speaker 1: be honest, did you ever order a pizza and ask
- 15:41Speaker 1: for give me extra potassium bromate? Nobody even knew it
- 15:45Speaker 1: was there, So don't be so panicky. They say it
- 15:48Speaker 1: won't affect anything. Hey, we'll take some calls. Next. Eight
- 15:51Speaker 1: hundred three to two one zero seven ten is the
- 15:54Speaker 1: number eight hundred three to two one zero seven ten
