- 0:00[SPEAKER_05]: We spend our whole lives going after this thing and we forget to identify who we are in the process.
- 0:07[SPEAKER_01]: But if I could just and all of this struggle, focus on this temporary.
- 0:12[SPEAKER_01]: Eventually, my mindset will start to support the outcome that I desire.
- 0:16[SPEAKER_05]: Be careful as you're building and attaining the stuff that you want.
- 0:20[SPEAKER_05]: Be careful that you don't lose who you are and forget your sense of
- 0:29[SPEAKER_05]: I'm trying to figure that out now when I spend time with my kids when I have to travel.
- 0:34[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I crawled my way out.
- 0:36[SPEAKER_01]: There was no man to help me.
- 0:38[SPEAKER_01]: There was no look that I clawed my way out of struggle and debt and lack.
- 0:45[SPEAKER_01]: And so no, it's not super easy, but we've got people now that I've seen.
- 0:50[SPEAKER_01]: They've got to go through so much red tape.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_01]: They've got to be given permission.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_01]: We get to give ourselves permission and shift the narrative and say, I'm going to do something different and it might not be easy.
- 1:00[SPEAKER_01]: It might in fact be hard, but either way is hard.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_05]: Welcome to the social group podcast.
- 1:08[SPEAKER_05]: We're here, Donnie.
- 1:09[SPEAKER_01]: We are in this thing.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_01]: Man, we just came from Toronto.
- 1:13[SPEAKER_01]: We did.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_01]: What the heck?
- 1:15[SPEAKER_01]: What?
- 1:16[SPEAKER_01]: Yo.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_01]: What was that about?
- 1:18[SPEAKER_05]: Shout out to Toronto.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_05]: One thing we missed that.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_05]: We've missed calculated.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_05]: And they even think about.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_05]: Didn't think about.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_05]: The y'all know, for those that's in the United States, the y'all know,
- 1:30[SPEAKER_05]: the tarot, not just Canada, but people are afraid to travel, see the most days.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, people in other countries are like, no, we'll wait that out.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_01]: Like, so David and I are on tour.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_01]: We're on tour and we do this thing at the end where we invite people to come and work with us and part of that package includes them having like this VIP mastermind day with us.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_01]: They get two tickets VIP to the podcast summit like they literally get four intensive days with working in our environment together for the whole ski.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_01]: for the low ski like it's a crazy small amount of money and they're like excited they're pumped up and all the things and then they come up and not everybody but the majority of people that we talk to said I would love to do it like if this was like a virtual thing but I'm not traveling to the United States right now.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_01]: Now, Davis on one side of the room, I'm on the other side of the room, and I'm hearing this he's hearing this, but we didn't realize it was a thing until we get in the car together, and we're like, yeah, people don't want to come to the United States.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, we're like, how do I know nobody took off?
- 2:38[SPEAKER_05]: Not one human then took off?
- 2:40[SPEAKER_05]: What is going on here?
- 2:42[SPEAKER_05]: And now I'm thinking it's just a couple people that told me like, all right, well, I don't know, I want to go to the States and I'm like,
- 2:48[SPEAKER_05]: Why not, you know, you know, this is beautiful.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_05]: And then we get in the car and we can say you get the same experience.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_01]: I say I get the same experience and then we ask our driver.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_01]: Now our driver is a Canadian resident, but he's originally from somewhere else.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_05]: I've wasn't at the event, so he doesn't know us from a can of pain.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't know who we are.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_01]: And we're like, hey, is that like a thing right now?
- 3:11[SPEAKER_01]: Are people from Canada not wanting to travel to the United States?
- 3:14[SPEAKER_05]: No, no, the way I asked the question was like, yeah, you comfortable going to the United States.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_01]: That's exactly what you said.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_05]: It wasn't leading or nothing.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you said, are you comfortable going to the United States right now?
- 3:23[SPEAKER_01]: And he said, no.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_01]: And we're like, why not?
- 3:28[SPEAKER_01]: And he's like, because you all have a lot going on right now, like between ICE and Customs and TSA and all the things.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_05]: He said it's dangerous, he said it's dangerous.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_01]: It's dangerous.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like, wow, and you could hear his accent.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_01]: You can tell that he's not from Canada.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm like, where are you from?
- 3:43[SPEAKER_01]: I forgot where he asked.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like, is this just the Canadian thing?
- 3:46[SPEAKER_01]: He's like, no, my family, back home.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_01]: Nobody wants to go to the United States.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like, well, what do you mean about it being dangerous?
- 3:55[SPEAKER_01]: And he said, it's not that he necessarily feared for his life.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_01]: It's just all the extra stuff that he may have to go through, traveling into the United States.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_05]: He said he had a family member that was detained for hours at the airport.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_05]: And it made me think, because you hear this stuff about, yo, he's in a place that you shouldn't travel to, whether, you know, now this is, I don't know if it's now, but Mexico they're like, the car tells taking over, hey, don't go to Mexico or
- 4:21[SPEAKER_05]: There might be a high-end risk in, you know, certain places, right?
- 4:24[SPEAKER_05]: There's like these red zones, I'm like, who's, that ain't that's crazy.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_05]: Can't even travel to those countries.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_05]: And now we're one of the countries.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_05]: We're on the list.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_01]: We're on somebody's list.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_01]: That's a no travel zone right now.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_01]: He literally said it's dangerous.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_01]: He talked about his family member who had been detained for hours.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_01]: And he's just like, it's not worth it.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_01]: Like I could imagine it not being your dream experience.
- 4:46[SPEAKER_01]: I want to go to the United States.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_01]: I want to see the big Apple.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_01]: I want to go to Atlanta for Fife and other things.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_01]: It's like FIFA.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_01]: It's like a dream vacation.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_01]: Some people from other countries only get one time to come to the United States because it's a little bit more difficult for them to travel to us.
- 5:02[SPEAKER_01]: And it is for us to travel to them.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_01]: And imagine you finally get to the United States.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_01]: And you get detained in the airport.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_01]: You're in the airport for 12 hours trying to prove your legitimacy.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_02]: All right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all
- 5:44[SPEAKER_06]: And that turns into a business.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_05]: Listen man, that turns into everything.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_06]: They would you go and do, man.
- 5:49[SPEAKER_06]: I thought podcast summer was two days of talking about microphones.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_05]: Well, some people come to learn how to start a podcast.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_05]: Some people come to learn how to grow a podcast, but everybody's gonna leave knowing how to build something.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_05]: No more questions.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_06]: Wait a minute.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_06]: Oh, can you show me how to start it from scratch?
- 6:10[SPEAKER_06]: Can you show us how to stop from scratch?
- 6:15[SPEAKER_06]: So it's not about the views.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_05]: People used to risk their lives to come to America.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_05]: This was a premier place to live, the land of the free.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_05]: And now it just seems like things are going to hell in a hand basket.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, quickly.
- 6:31[SPEAKER_05]: Yo, um, another thing.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_05]: Remember we did the Massamine before the event.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_05]: We did the Massamine for the VIPs at the table.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_05]: We're talking about the difference in building here and building there.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_05]: And there's definitely a difference in being an entrepreneur.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_05]: We're blessed here as an entrepreneur.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_01]: We're super blessed here and I remember a very similar, that's why I knew so much about it because of my clients that I had in Trinidad and clients that I had in Bermuda.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_01]: Like I'm giving them like, oh, just do this and just do that and they're like, oh, it's not that easy for us here.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_01]: I can't just run an ad that says this or I can't just, you know, have an event that says that.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_01]: And so, like in Canada, they are basically governed.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_01]: Every little move they make.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_01]: They have to register everything.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_01]: There has to be a paper trail for it.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_01]: And it's a very similar experience in Bermuda.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_01]: It's a very similar experience in Trinidad where the government basically micro-manages your ability to be an entrepreneur.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_01]: And so things are very different.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_01]: We have to cut through a lot of red tape before they can even get started.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_01]: And here,
- 7:35[SPEAKER_01]: you can just go on the internet and register an LLC.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_05]: Right, an LLC is a hundred dollars in Georgia.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_01]: And it's a hundred bucks.
- 7:45[SPEAKER_01]: A hundred bucks, whereas they have to have certain permits and certificates and it's a lengthy process.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_01]: I can remember clients that I worked with in Bermuda that we ended up not working together anymore because
- 7:59[SPEAKER_01]: it took so long to get the permits like it that we can't even make a move like it just doesn't even make sense for us to continue this relationship right now in this way because you can't execute on any of the things that I give you until these part in and it was months like months.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_05]: Shout out to Alex Whipfield for bringing us out there, just rolled out the red carpet force, it was incredible.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_05]: My realization was I always wondered
- 8:26[SPEAKER_05]: Why when people come from different countries, they come to Atlanta or not in Atlanta, but they come to the United States, and they build these multi-million, not they become billionaires, and they just come into a foreign land, and they just go crazy.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_05]: Like foreigners, they, when they come here, they're willing to work and they will go to the top, they'll build businesses, build stuff for their family, make all this money, send money back.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_05]: The realization I had was, because I don't have a whole lot of internet, national experience like that, but when you come here because they're coming from a place with so much red tape, but then we were at the table, it was like, yo, they're going to take 50% of your money off rip as an entrepreneur in Canada.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_05]: That's what they were sharing.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_05]: But because you have so many of these guardrails and there's so many things working against you when these other countries, when you come to the United States, I guess they're thinking it's themselves.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_05]: Brother, this is all I gotta do to make some money.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_05]: Oh my gosh, it's like training with ankle weights.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_05]: Your whole life playing basketball.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_05]: And eventually you take the ankle weights off and you can fly and be like, yo, how do you fly?
- 9:35[SPEAKER_05]: So how do you run so fast?
- 9:36[SPEAKER_05]: It's like yo, add ankle weights on this side.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_05]: I train this side develop.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_05]: So if you're in one of these countries where it's not as accessible, brother, you can have an idea.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_05]: Start a company, get it registered today, find somewhere to get a whole set.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_05]: First off, you can find one of these credit gurus and they can get you funding $20,000 credit card so tomorrow.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_05]: I've seen it live at events where life...
- 10:03[SPEAKER_05]: It's five minutes.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_05]: Five minutes.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_05]: This blew my mind.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_05]: It's like a few years ago.
- 10:07[SPEAKER_05]: This before Smithy was popping.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_05]: He did something so amazing.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_05]: We had him come speak at an event.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_05]: And he's like, yo, I'm about to... We about to see how many people get $10,000, $20,000 right now.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_05]: I'm like, how you did that, bro?
- 10:19[SPEAKER_05]: So he goes to his stuff and he's showing you where to go.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_05]: We're to apply, he said, door to your phone.
- 10:25[SPEAKER_05]: Raise your hand and just shout out what you get when you get approved.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_05]: All right, 10,000, 7,500, 20,000.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_05]: I'm like, right now.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_05]: Give me the link, give me the link, give me the link, give me the link, give me the link, give me the link, give me the link, give me the link, give me the link, give me the link, give me the link, give me the link, give me the link, give me the link, give me the link, give me the link, give me the link, give me the link, give me the link, give me the link, give me the link, give me the link, give me the link, give me the link, give me the link, give me the link, give me the link, give me the link, give me the link, give me the
- 10:43[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I think we've become entitled, we've become entitled to the freedom that the land allows, like we have been born with certain birth rights.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_01]: And so when people come who are not born with those birth rights, who are not born with that access and that ease, they come here and they really think that we are
- 11:04[SPEAKER_01]: taking advantage of these like not taking advantage rather of these opportunities.
- 11:08[SPEAKER_01]: They think that we're being very passive and that's one of the reasons.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_01]: Not the only reason, but that's definitely one of the reasons why they come over here.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_01]: And when I say they, I mean foreigners, why foreigners come over here and they just take off because it's already easy for them.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_01]: They're already starting from a head.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_01]: Like they don't have to go through all of these government agencies.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_01]: They don't have to worry about becoming too popular or you know, you've got an agency or an organization that's going to threaten their lives because now, not only do you have to pay the government tax, you've got to pay that gang or that organization tax as well.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_01]: Like they get to build
- 11:44[SPEAKER_01]: as much more freely than we do here.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_05]: Right.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_05]: I can start a serial company that's somewhat of a like a science project with all kind of like chemicals that make up a flavor and I can slap it on a cereal box and sell that joint to people in the United.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_05]: A lot of this, the food we eat.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_05]: is banned in other countries.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_03]: It's poison.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_05]: Oh my gosh.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_05]: But we, I could have a poison filled product and get it on the shelves.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_01]: It's a lot of money.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_05]: It's only got to be real true.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_01]: No FDA approval required.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_01]: It's just a waste of time.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_01]: It's just a waste of time.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_01]: It's just a waste of time.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_01]: It's just a waste of time.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_01]: It's just a waste of time.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_01]: It's just a waste of time.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_01]: It's just a waste of time.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_01]: It's just a waste of time.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_01]: It's just a waste of time.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_01]: It's just a waste of time.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_01]: It's just a waste of time.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_01]: It's just a waste of time.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_01]: It's just a waste of time.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_01]: It's just a waste of time.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_01]: In other countries, these same companies can exist with a whole totally different set of ingredients.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_01]: McDonald's is not McDonald's in Paris is not McDonald's in Atlanta.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_01]: Or anywhere in the United States for that matter, we're just, we're letting it slide.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_05]: But we're doomed, bro.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_05]: America is doomed and I don't think there's, what are we doing about it?
- 12:52[SPEAKER_05]: What are we doing about it?
- 12:53[SPEAKER_05]: And that's complaining.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_05]: And then it's getting worse because we got my man in office that's doing all kind of wild stuff.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_05]: Where he'll tweet or he'll tweet something like, hey, we're gonna totally obliterate this country tomorrow.
- 13:07[SPEAKER_01]: Tomorrow.
- 13:08[SPEAKER_01]: If you don't comply by 332 p.m. today, consider the country gone.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_05]: Day, big word.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_05]: Chill, bro.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_05]: Chill, kill it.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_05]: I be by my money by Friday, Donald, go for it.
- 13:23[SPEAKER_05]: What do we, what have we done?
- 13:24[SPEAKER_05]: Should we go somewhere else?
- 13:26[SPEAKER_05]: But then it won't be as simple to build what we're building.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_05]: If we go to another place, so the luxury that we have is also working against us as a, as a, not even as a people as a country, as a country, as a, as a nation, bro, this is tough.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_05]: We need to stop me as so entitled.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_05]: and go after it family, I know it's super easy and a social media has allowed us to believe that because it's easy to get the LLC and to get the company and it's so bad, you can upload a design to a website and have a full fleet of products in minutes and as many people lazy and I was on the morning meal with the gentleman ladies morning and she started selling her product.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_05]: This earlier this month, and sold five of them, and she's, oh my gosh, I can't do this.
- 14:17[SPEAKER_05]: I need to sell more.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_05]: Do I just shut the company down?
- 14:19[SPEAKER_05]: I said, bro, it's been a month.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_02]: It's been a month.
- 14:22[SPEAKER_05]: He's sold five already.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_05]: How are you?
- 14:24[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, there's five people that are willing to buy.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_05]: How long is it?
- 14:27[SPEAKER_01]: I've never driven any crazy stuff.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_05]: Well, let's all 15, next small, not about that.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_05]: Let's just, but the way it's designed in this country is we do something and we need immediate gratification and it doesn't work like that.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_01]: It does not work that way, but it's also,
- 14:47[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, things are hard, but like you choose your heart.
- 14:49[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 14:50[SPEAKER_01]: And it doesn't have to be hard as the mindset.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_01]: The hardest thing to overcome, I was just talking about this on an ACACEO call last night when I was talking about, you know, the journey to success.
- 15:01[SPEAKER_01]: And someone commented and said, well, it's not that easy.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_01]: And then somebody else said, because if it was that easy, everybody will be doing it.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_01]: Now everybody wouldn't be doing it for sure.
- 15:11[SPEAKER_01]: Like if you go to another country, you begin to learn just how much easier we have it.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_01]: And that is not to overlook or negate the fact that we have some real obstacles and challenges to overcome.
- 15:24[SPEAKER_01]: But if we see people overcoming it, then the first thing that we have to say is that it's possible.
- 15:30[SPEAKER_01]: And so many people who are looking at the hardship behind becoming an entrepreneur or even just getting themselves in a better situation, it usually starts with what you're thinking every day all day.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_01]: Like you're thinking it's so hard, somebody else is coming from a third world country over here and they're like, this is the land of the free.
- 15:50[SPEAKER_01]: I can do anything.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_01]: You mean to tell me I can just get a product and stand on the street and start
- 15:54[SPEAKER_01]: doing it, like selling in Atlantic Station at the corner of 17th Street in Spring Street right outside of Atlantic Station.
- 16:03[SPEAKER_01]: There's a gentleman who has been there for like two or three years and all he does is juggle.
- 16:09[SPEAKER_01]: He juggles bowling pins.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_01]: That's all he does.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_01]: He juggles bowling pins every single time the light changes.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_01]: He's juggling these bowling pins.
- 16:16[SPEAKER_01]: People are going crazy because he's throwing them through traffic over cars running around catching them and he's getting paid.
- 16:22[SPEAKER_01]: This is what he does every single day.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_01]: This is what he does.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_01]: And so I go on walks and one day I walk past them and I stop and I speak and I'm like, would it be easier to get a job?
- 16:35[SPEAKER_01]: like now that you're getting this money like you know because I'm a coach and I'm I'm always trying to coach people through and I'm like okay so what are you doing with the money that you're making how much do you earn out here and he's like sometimes it could be $200 in a day.
- 16:50[SPEAKER_05]: Make sense.
- 16:52[SPEAKER_01]: $200 in a day so I'm like well what are you doing with the money do you think maybe if you're earning this kind of money you could go and grab an outfit and clean up and use a day to do some job interviews and he's like
- 17:04[SPEAKER_01]: Like sometimes I make $200 a day or you listen in to me, why would I go get a job?
- 17:09[SPEAKER_05]: I'm sure.
- 17:09[SPEAKER_05]: This is what I do well.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_01]: This is what I do well.
- 17:11[SPEAKER_01]: This is my job.
- 17:12[SPEAKER_01]: This is what I do.
- 17:13[SPEAKER_01]: And there's no government official that's coming to say, hey, let's calculate these tips and figure out what you owe us on that.
- 17:20[SPEAKER_01]: Let's figure out the taxes.
- 17:21[SPEAKER_01]: The hardest part of his day is maybe having to move corners, but this man has been there consistently for three years.
- 17:29[SPEAKER_05]: Hmm.
- 17:29[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, so what are you doing that scenario?
- 17:33[SPEAKER_05]: The problem is, I think, based on the answer, he's comfortable doing what he does, juggling out in the streets.
- 17:43[SPEAKER_05]: He takes it to my hundred.
- 17:45[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know.
- 17:46[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know the brother or sister, whatever it is.
- 17:48[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know the person, so I don't know how they're managing their money.
- 17:53[SPEAKER_05]: But that's a comfort level right there.
- 17:55[SPEAKER_05]: It's easy.
- 17:56[SPEAKER_05]: I know this, I do this.
- 17:58[SPEAKER_05]: This is what I do, it may be hard to elevate because maybe this is easy succeeding.
- 18:05[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and that's what success looks like to him, right?
- 18:09[SPEAKER_01]: And I think oftentimes we're saying, so it's success easy, no.
- 18:17[SPEAKER_01]: Struggle also isn't easy.
- 18:19[SPEAKER_01]: So now if we're looking at two hard things, we have to pick which heart we want to stay in, right?
- 18:26[SPEAKER_01]: And if I stay in the hard box that of hardship,
- 18:32[SPEAKER_01]: That means that I'm stressed out.
- 18:34[SPEAKER_01]: I'm staying in an environment of stress and overwhelm and lack and not having enough and barely making ends meet.
- 18:41[SPEAKER_01]: And that's what my mind, that's what my thoughts are around every single day.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_01]: How do I write Peter to pay Paul because I'm choosing to stay here if I'm not choosing to do anything about it?
- 18:50[SPEAKER_01]: Like, and I end up in the middle of the day,
- 18:52[SPEAKER_01]: Before I get attacked, and people say it's not that easy.
- 18:54[SPEAKER_01]: It's not a choice like, one, you're talking to somebody who's been through so many.
- 18:58[SPEAKER_01]: So, so much of the thick of it, right?
- 19:00[SPEAKER_01]: From recovering from sickness and bankruptcy, foreclosure, losing my home, you know, being without a home, sharing meals with my daughter, just to be able to eat, like, pouring water in the back of the toilet, just being able to flush, I've, I've, I've experienced a lot.
- 19:16[SPEAKER_01]: And.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_01]: At the end of the missed of those experiences, I had a choice.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_01]: This is hard.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_01]: This is really, really hard.
- 19:25[SPEAKER_01]: But if I wake up every day and that focus on how hard it is to be broke, chances are, I'm creating more opportunities to stay that way.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_01]: But if I could just, and all of this struggle, if I could just focus on this is temporary.
- 19:41[SPEAKER_01]: If I could just focus on, there's light at the end of the tunnel.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_01]: If I could stay focused on,
- 19:46[SPEAKER_01]: The devil only attacks powerful things.
- 19:50[SPEAKER_01]: And I didn't even know if I believed that at the time it's just what I kept hearing.
- 19:53[SPEAKER_01]: So if I choose to believe that, believe that, believe that, eventually, my mindset will start to support the outcome that I desire.
- 20:01[SPEAKER_01]: Eventually, if I'm like, okay, Donnie, the devil is only attacking something powerful.
- 20:05[SPEAKER_01]: What does that mean?
- 20:06[SPEAKER_01]: That means that I'm powerful.
- 20:08[SPEAKER_01]: What can I do?
- 20:08[SPEAKER_01]: That's powerful today.
- 20:10[SPEAKER_01]: I go to the bookstore.
- 20:12[SPEAKER_01]: I used to go in Barnes and Noble Dave and I couldn't afford to buy the book.
- 20:16[SPEAKER_01]: I would sit in there and write down everything.
- 20:20[SPEAKER_01]: I'd sit on the floor of the shelves of the aisles and Barnes and Noble because there were no more tables.
- 20:26[SPEAKER_01]: They only had a couple.
- 20:27[SPEAKER_01]: I would sit on the floor.
- 20:28[SPEAKER_01]: I have pictures of this and I would write all the notes.
- 20:33[SPEAKER_01]: When my camera phone got real good, when I upgraded my phone, I take pictures of the pages and then I study these things like over and over and over again and figure out what pieces I can do.
- 20:45[SPEAKER_01]: So for example, when I decided to open a clothing store, I didn't have money to put inventory in it.
- 20:50[SPEAKER_01]: what I could do though was go and get some blank t-shirts and get a one color logo put on it.
- 20:57[SPEAKER_01]: I could do three colors.
- 20:58[SPEAKER_01]: I could do four colors that's more expensive, but I could go get one solid color t-shirt and put one white or black bunny on it.
- 21:04[SPEAKER_01]: Those are my options.
- 21:06[SPEAKER_01]: That's all I got.
- 21:07[SPEAKER_01]: And so we went to that clothing store.
- 21:09[SPEAKER_01]: We sold out of that t-shirt.
- 21:10[SPEAKER_01]: Now what do we do?
- 21:11[SPEAKER_01]: We still can't afford inventory.
- 21:12[SPEAKER_01]: This is hard.
- 21:14[SPEAKER_01]: But not let me not think about the fact that we're sold out.
- 21:16[SPEAKER_01]: And this is so hard.
- 21:17[SPEAKER_01]: And we can't get inventory.
- 21:19[SPEAKER_01]: Let me think about we sold out of this one round of t-shirts.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_01]: We got like $1,000 or so in profit on our hands.
- 21:25[SPEAKER_01]: What can I do?
- 21:25[SPEAKER_01]: The devil only tax was powerful.
- 21:27[SPEAKER_01]: What would be the powerful decision here?
- 21:29[SPEAKER_01]: Powerful decision would be to have something for sale.
- 21:31[SPEAKER_01]: What can we do with the $1,000?
- 21:33[SPEAKER_01]: How do I take it and flip it?
- 21:34[SPEAKER_01]: We went to Ross.
- 21:35[SPEAKER_01]: We went to TJ Maxx.
- 21:36[SPEAKER_01]: We went to Marshall's.
- 21:37[SPEAKER_01]: Everything on the clearance rack that we could afford that looked good.
- 21:40[SPEAKER_01]: We bought it.
- 21:40[SPEAKER_01]: Came back flipped it.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_01]: We're still in hard.
- 21:43[SPEAKER_01]: Do I choose to think positively in this heart?
- 21:45[SPEAKER_01]: Do I choose to think negatively in this heart?
- 21:47[SPEAKER_01]: When I was without a home, I'm in hard.
- 21:50[SPEAKER_01]: How do I get myself out of it?
- 21:51[SPEAKER_01]: When my water got cut off, I am in hard.
- 21:55[SPEAKER_01]: How do I choose to get?
- 21:56[SPEAKER_01]: How do I think my way, the only thing I don't have the money?
- 22:00[SPEAKER_01]: I don't have access to people who can give me money.
- 22:02[SPEAKER_01]: The only thing that I'm in control of right now is my mind.
- 22:05[SPEAKER_01]: Think, Donnie, think, Donnie, think.
- 22:07[SPEAKER_01]: That's how I made it out of these situations.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_01]: Think, think, think.
- 22:11[SPEAKER_01]: Don't let yourself all too low.
- 22:13[SPEAKER_01]: I tell the story all the time about how when I finally decided to move back in with my mom.
- 22:17[SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't a decision.
- 22:18[SPEAKER_01]: It was the only option.
- 22:20[SPEAKER_01]: She's walking past my bedroom one day.
- 22:21[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm in the bedroom and I'm laughing at something.
- 22:24[SPEAKER_01]: And she walks past my bedroom on her way to the kitchen.
- 22:28[SPEAKER_01]: And she doubles back.
- 22:29[SPEAKER_01]: And she says, I don't understand why you're laughing.
- 22:32[SPEAKER_01]: Like your life is in shambles.
- 22:34[SPEAKER_01]: You should be trying to figure this out.
- 22:36[SPEAKER_01]: And I said,
- 22:39[SPEAKER_01]: Would you rather me worry?
- 22:40[SPEAKER_01]: Hold on, let me try that for a second.
- 22:42[SPEAKER_01]: Let me worry.
- 22:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 22:44[SPEAKER_01]: Let's see what worry is going to fix, right?
- 22:46[SPEAKER_01]: Let's see what me thinking negatively is going to fix.
- 22:48[SPEAKER_01]: Like, no, it was because I kept this intact that I had at least a blank slate to think.
- 22:55[SPEAKER_01]: And most of us, if we can just think ourselves out of a situation, if we, if we can stay in control and in possession of the positivity, even though it's hard, it's hard, it's hard, but you can have two thoughts.
- 23:06[SPEAKER_01]: You can have a negative thought or a positive one.
- 23:08[SPEAKER_01]: Let me, let me try to stay focused on this one because when we're in that space, then it creates breathing room for us to just think.
- 23:15[SPEAKER_01]: So, okay, I'm here.
- 23:17[SPEAKER_01]: What can I do?
- 23:18[SPEAKER_01]: I'm making a, I can't find a job.
- 23:22[SPEAKER_01]: Temp agency.
- 23:23[SPEAKER_01]: Let me go to a temp agency.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_01]: They need people every single day.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_01]: Y'all don't have a permanent role.
- 23:27[SPEAKER_01]: No problem.
- 23:27[SPEAKER_01]: I'll take every day that you can give me.
- 23:30[SPEAKER_01]: Fill me up with every day that you can give me.
- 23:32[SPEAKER_01]: Some of those jobs.
- 23:33[SPEAKER_01]: I went to and only made enough money to put gas in my car.
- 23:37[SPEAKER_01]: But it's okay because I'm going to go and I'm going to do an outstanding job and hope that they ask me to come back tomorrow.
- 23:42[SPEAKER_01]: Hope that they ask and that's what happened.
- 23:44[SPEAKER_01]: and you dig and you think, okay, great.
- 23:46[SPEAKER_01]: Now I'm about to get this $83 and $84 paycheck.
- 23:50[SPEAKER_01]: What can I do with this?
- 23:51[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, I got a feed day just this week.
- 23:54[SPEAKER_01]: We're gonna have spaghetti.
- 23:55[SPEAKER_01]: $20 is gonna have to be enough for gas right now.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_01]: $30 is gonna have to be enough for gas right now.
- 24:01[SPEAKER_01]: I got about $40 left.
- 24:02[SPEAKER_01]: What can I do with this $40 to maximize it?
- 24:06[SPEAKER_01]: Can I go now and take this $40 and spend $25 on something that I can put on eBay and flip for double?
- 24:12[SPEAKER_01]: Like I cropped my way out.
- 24:14[SPEAKER_01]: There was no man to help me.
- 24:15[SPEAKER_01]: There was no look that like I,
- 24:18[SPEAKER_01]: clogged my way out of struggle and debt and lack.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_01]: And so no, it's not super easy, but we've got people now that I've seen.
- 24:28[SPEAKER_01]: They've got to go through so much red tape.
- 24:30[SPEAKER_01]: They've got to be given permission.
- 24:32[SPEAKER_01]: We get to give ourselves permission and shift the narrative and say, I'm going to do something different.
- 24:37[SPEAKER_01]: And it might not be easy.
- 24:38[SPEAKER_01]: It might, in fact, be hard.
- 24:40[SPEAKER_01]: But either way is hard.
- 24:43[SPEAKER_01]: Let me choose the hard that is going to produce the most positive outcome.
- 24:47[SPEAKER_05]: You know what will probably fix that hard for you in that moment more money more money millions Mm-hmm, but let's look at another heart and the only reason I'm bringing it up is because she's been a very public with it Daniel Leslie.
- 25:01[SPEAKER_05]: Uh-huh.
- 25:03[SPEAKER_05]: Her she wrote a book called Confessions of a broke millionaire.
- 25:07[SPEAKER_05]: Is that it?
- 25:08[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, it's a broke millionaire.
- 25:09[SPEAKER_05]: And she's chronicling the story of how she made $25 million.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_05]: and her who are hard to climb for Starbucks or something, right?
- 25:19[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 25:19[SPEAKER_05]: I thought I saw it.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_05]: We think that money is going to solve all the problems.
- 25:26[SPEAKER_05]: We're struggling.
- 25:27[SPEAKER_05]: You are kind of like doing your best to feed your daughter.
- 25:32[SPEAKER_05]: Like if I can only get some money, but there's actually a millionaire.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_05]: Multi-millionaire is going through the same life is hard.
- 25:42[SPEAKER_05]: I don't care if you're single, you're married, man, woman, rich, poor, life.
- 25:50[SPEAKER_05]: is extremely, extremely difficult.
- 25:52[SPEAKER_05]: Now I can't wait to see this book of, like she's telling all the stories of like, yo, you can make all this money.
- 25:58[SPEAKER_05]: And I think I think what she was like on stage getting recognized for the money she made, right?
- 26:03[SPEAKER_01]: She was at a conference being recognized.
- 26:06[SPEAKER_01]: And at that same conference, there were two people, I believe, one of them was Terry Ijima and the other one may have been Tara Reed, don't quote me on her, but for short, Terry Ijima and these two ladies gave her so much credit about how they had gone through her programs and the reasons that they had made $10 million and $8 million.
- 26:29[SPEAKER_01]: I'll give you her name.
- 26:30[SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't her retar, I'm sorry.
- 26:32[SPEAKER_01]: How they had been able to build eight figure companies by using her framework, right?
- 26:38[SPEAKER_01]: And Danielle is feeling really proud and she's on stage and she's been honored and I believe she's the keynote speaker and she does this fantastic outstanding job.
- 26:46[SPEAKER_01]: And then the very next day, she goes to a coffee shop.
- 26:51[SPEAKER_01]: And the server comes over to get her payment.
- 26:58[SPEAKER_01]: She didn't realize it had gotten so bad that she couldn't even pay for coffee and she said she sat there and wondered, what if those people who I just spoke in front of and just made them believe in themselves and all the things knew that I'm in a coffee shop in my card to climb and she had to call her then I believe boyfriend and ask him to transfer money to her account so she could pay for this coffee, you know, what's interesting is somebody
- 27:27[SPEAKER_01]: that, oh, Danielle, lost everything so she's no longer qualified to teach me.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_01]: She's more qualified.
- 27:35[SPEAKER_01]: She's more qualified than anybody right now where then many people right now to teach you.
- 27:39[SPEAKER_01]: They'll say, oh, she, she, yes, she had it, but she lost it like I'm seeing the comments.
- 27:43[SPEAKER_01]: I'm seeing the threads of people saying, oh, that girl, the course course creator who did X, Y, and Z, see, they don't ever keep it.
- 27:51[SPEAKER_01]: When did you ever have it?
- 27:54[SPEAKER_01]: You never even had it here.
- 27:57[SPEAKER_01]: When did you ever actually have it?
- 28:00[SPEAKER_01]: And here's the thing, she had it and made decisions with it.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm not sure all of the decisions that led to her.
- 28:09[SPEAKER_01]: losing this wealth that she amassed, but I would imagine that there was some maybe some living above the means.
- 28:16[SPEAKER_01]: If I'm having a guess, then yeah, you know, I love you, but if I'm having to guess, I would imagine that maybe we were living above, I mean, it's a little bit maybe there was some financial irresponsibility, maybe maybe there, you know, things that will cause that to happen people could be stealing from you inside your company or you're just not paying attention to your money, you can lose it and she didn't just
- 28:36[SPEAKER_01]: have 25 million dollars at one time.
- 28:38[SPEAKER_01]: She amassed this wealth over a period of 10 years.
- 28:42[SPEAKER_01]: So there's that.
- 28:43[SPEAKER_01]: And if you're not monitoring that carefully, things like taxes and other debt will begin to catch up with you taking, you know, see money or investor money.
- 28:51[SPEAKER_01]: These things will begin to catch up with you.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_01]: I know that she also went through a divorce.
- 28:55[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if that, you know, had anything to do with it.
- 28:58[SPEAKER_01]: But
- 28:59[SPEAKER_01]: I see the comments in the threads of people who were saying, I wouldn't listen to our talk.
- 29:02[SPEAKER_01]: I'll not listen to them.
- 29:04[SPEAKER_01]: Did you see the part where she said just the day before?
- 29:07[SPEAKER_01]: There were two Dominique Broadway.
- 29:10[SPEAKER_01]: Dominique Broadway was the second person.
- 29:12[SPEAKER_01]: There were two women, Teria Giouma and Dominique Broadway, who were on the stage that said, because of your framework, I went and built eight figure companies.
- 29:22[SPEAKER_01]: But you're on thread as one to argue whether or not she's qualified to teach, or if she were ever legit.
- 29:29[SPEAKER_05]: You have no idea what it's like to make this type of money, and anxiety around being able to keep it.
- 29:37[SPEAKER_05]: It's almost like it's better to not have had success than to have success and then fall from grace and have everybody point at you.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_05]: That's hard.
- 29:49[SPEAKER_05]: It's harder to become successful and in fall.
- 29:54[SPEAKER_05]: because there was there was such an expectation, there's such a pedestal, such an, it's an extra layer of almost embarrassment.
- 30:03[SPEAKER_05]: And someone that hasn't accomplished anything, you're trying to get it, because nobody has that expectation of you anyway.
- 30:08[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 30:08[SPEAKER_05]: Bro, this is,
- 30:10[SPEAKER_05]: Look at the title is Confessions Expo.
- 30:13[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, I don't know.
- 30:13[SPEAKER_05]: It's called a memoir sharing I had $25 million ended up in debt divorce and developing a benign breast tumor We're still led to a mistake to me in 2023 Confessions exposes the cost of pursuing money The cost of pursuing money marriage and success before you know who you are without them
- 30:34[SPEAKER_05]: She brought this.
- 30:37[SPEAKER_05]: This is so powerful.
- 30:38[SPEAKER_05]: She made this post said I made money before I knew who I was without it.
- 30:43[SPEAKER_05]: I entered into a relationship before I knew who I was without it.
- 30:47[SPEAKER_05]: I built the business before I knew who I was without it.
- 30:50[SPEAKER_05]: I built the brand before I knew who I was without it.
- 30:52[SPEAKER_05]: I had she status before I knew who I was without it.
- 30:56[SPEAKER_05]: Who am I without the money relationship business?
- 30:59[SPEAKER_05]: And brand who are you and we spend our whole lives going after this thing and we forget to identify who we are in the process You don't know who you are could just make a whole life chase a money and when you get the money and money makes you know happier Now what do you do where do you go and you try to kind of ease?
- 31:20[SPEAKER_05]: Or reward yourself with stuff that you think is going to make you feel better and it just doesn't make you feel better The house and the cars and you get this big building and you get a staff and you got all this overhead now To impress the people who already hold you to a certain standard and you've got to keep that up But nobody knows what it's like to be trying to figure out
- 31:45[SPEAKER_05]: how to get something paid when you're supposed to be to super successful person.
- 31:49[SPEAKER_05]: Pinkie Cole's same thing.
- 31:50[SPEAKER_05]: She's going through this publicly.
- 31:52[SPEAKER_05]: Bruh, you have no idea what it's like to be worth $100 million.
- 31:56[SPEAKER_05]: Or even what that means it looks like.
- 31:59[SPEAKER_05]: You don't know what it's like to have a bunch of employees and a bunch of restaurants and having all this popular.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_05]: You don't know, you don't know.
- 32:06[SPEAKER_05]: It's difficult.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_05]: I'm telling everybody, be careful as you're building and attaining the stuff that you want.
- 32:12[SPEAKER_05]: Be careful that you don't lose who you are and forget your sense of purpose in this life You're gonna be like where who are you?
- 32:21[SPEAKER_05]: I'm I'm I'm trying to figure that out now when I spend time with my kids when I have to travel away from my kids I'm thinking to myself who
- 32:31[SPEAKER_05]: Who am I?
- 32:32[SPEAKER_05]: Am I as person that goes out to the money and my question is, but I have enough money to not travel as much, and I have enough money and enough things set up to where I can spend more time with my kids.
- 32:43[SPEAKER_05]: I'm in a place right now, where I could live a really okay life, I can get my bills paid, we can eat every day, and like my soul is building,
- 32:58[SPEAKER_05]: and do any other stuff, and I didn't have pay roll.
- 33:03[SPEAKER_05]: I do believe based on like investments and stuff.
- 33:07[SPEAKER_05]: I think I could be making a cool amount of money to stay home every day.
- 33:12[SPEAKER_05]: We can't take a whole bunch of trips.
- 33:13[SPEAKER_05]: Not doing vacations, but I can just be with my kids at peace and like learn more and dive deeper spiritually.
- 33:23[SPEAKER_05]: If I'm being 100% honest, that is something I've been struggling with for like the last year or so.
- 33:29[SPEAKER_05]: The reason you're here is because I decided to start a podcast.
- 33:32[SPEAKER_05]: So did I can have engaging conversations with people by the way, this video will be monetized.
- 33:37[SPEAKER_05]: I'll make money off of it.
- 33:38[SPEAKER_05]: You need to start a podcast too, so you can have engaging conversations like this one.
- 33:44[SPEAKER_05]: Okay, which means you need to be a podcast summit 20, 26 for the price of a cheap date with somebody that you don't even like like that.
- 33:52[SPEAKER_05]: You can learn how to start a podcast, grow your audience, build your business, or use a podcast to build your brand to build your business.
- 33:59[SPEAKER_05]: Check this out.
- 34:00[SPEAKER_06]: The podcast summit has been nothing short of a base.
- 34:03[SPEAKER_02]: And there's no better place to learn how to have a podcast than podcast summit.
- 34:10[SPEAKER_06]: It's more than just like a podcast conference.
- 34:12[SPEAKER_06]: It's a community of people who actually want to learn and get better at entrepreneurship.
- 34:18[SPEAKER_05]: Why keep going after more and it's not even that I have this big lifestyle where I need to do the things with the more like I got this big goal to travel to world and live in a mansion.
- 34:29[SPEAKER_05]: I only had a desire for stuff.
- 34:30[SPEAKER_05]: Why do I keep going after stuff?
- 34:33[SPEAKER_01]: What are you coming up with?
- 34:35[SPEAKER_05]: Nothing.
- 34:36[SPEAKER_05]: No answer other than I've I've convinced myself and I don't know if I can convince myself or it's real but I love the game
- 34:46[SPEAKER_05]: you love what I love the game I love having an idea and building it I love it and I don't love the part to where you got to like really make big decisions and do you got to like double down and invest more and feels like it's not going to work but I love the game so much it's either that or because I've been in the game and I've been an entrepreneur my whole life maybe I've convinced myself that that's what I want because that's what I've always done I don't know.
- 35:15[SPEAKER_01]: And then I do believe that some of us are just marked for greatness.
- 35:21[SPEAKER_01]: Are we?
- 35:21[SPEAKER_01]: Some of us are just marked for what is greatness.
- 35:24[SPEAKER_01]: Well, whatever God says it is like you're done when he says and I believe that some of us have been selected for extraordinary work and that doesn't always look like all the money like you said that you want to learn more and dive deeper spiritually like
- 35:39[SPEAKER_01]: God could be positioning you for to be the next major philanthropist like who knows where you just have a freedom with finances that you can do more than you can travel but you're traveling for mission trips and you're traveling and helping your safe and communities like your dumb one guy says and when you don't know is because it's not it's not you're doing.
- 36:00[SPEAKER_05]: or God could be like, yo, why don't you do us stuff?
- 36:03[SPEAKER_05]: He could do us stuff.
- 36:04[SPEAKER_05]: But you never know.
- 36:05[SPEAKER_01]: You'll find out, you will find out.
- 36:10[SPEAKER_05]: God, Lee, life is a challenge.
- 36:13[SPEAKER_05]: But I do think while we're here, we should be as productive as possible.
- 36:17[SPEAKER_05]: And with the money that I make, I do it.
- 36:19[SPEAKER_05]: I can for, you know, like my church, and, you know, like helping other people, things that I need just so I think I'm good there's not like,
- 36:26[SPEAKER_05]: I do, I am blessed that I don't have the greed of never being satisfied with not enough money.
- 36:34[SPEAKER_05]: You know what I'm blessed in that way, but it's like it's always a growth process and a figuring it out and a lot of people that haven't really made any money never really relate to this, because you don't have the experience, you hear these rich people saying, oh well, money's not everything.
- 36:49[SPEAKER_05]: Well, we're just splitting chicken nuggets with your daughter.
- 36:52[SPEAKER_05]: Money was everything.
- 36:52[SPEAKER_05]: Money feels like it's everything.
- 36:53[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, when I had to find the extra three pennies in the car because that person at the window was really doing their job.
- 36:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I come on, come on, come on.
- 37:00[SPEAKER_01]: Come on, it's three pennies.
- 37:02[SPEAKER_01]: Like I'm flipping carpets over digging in the middle of season, going through her book bag to see if please have a penny in here.
- 37:08[SPEAKER_01]: Like money becomes everything in that moment.
- 37:11[SPEAKER_05]: So what do we do?
- 37:13[SPEAKER_01]: make money.
- 37:14[SPEAKER_01]: You go out and figure out how to make money.
- 37:17[SPEAKER_01]: Listen.
- 37:18[SPEAKER_05]: I'm into that answer.
- 37:19[SPEAKER_01]: I'm in, you go out and you figure out how to make money.
- 37:22[SPEAKER_01]: And I believe that is relevant in a lot of circumstances.
- 37:26[SPEAKER_01]: Like,
- 37:27[SPEAKER_01]: You just go out and make more money.
- 37:29[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?
- 37:29[SPEAKER_01]: You need something.
- 37:31[SPEAKER_01]: You got to figure out how to go and make more money.
- 37:33[SPEAKER_01]: I used to be the queen of the flip.
- 37:35[SPEAKER_01]: Like I'll take that hat on your head right now and I'll have that thing on eBay and sold in the next two or three hours and I'll take my $13 and my $13 profit or whatever that is.
- 37:45[SPEAKER_01]: And then I was off to the next place.
- 37:47[SPEAKER_01]: If I got $13 and I got to feed my daughter with $5 of those dollars, what can I do with the other $8?
- 37:53[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to go and figure something out.
- 37:55[SPEAKER_01]: below all day every day, customize and something like I remember going and getting warm clothes from the thrift store like tennis shoes and customizing these tennis shoes and selling them until one day a cheerleading team, a youth cheerleading team said, hey, can you make the shoes?
- 38:12[SPEAKER_01]: And in the beginning, I didn't have enough money to even buy the materials.
- 38:16[SPEAKER_01]: So I said, yeah, if you guys go ahead and buy the shoes and bring them to me, then I can make the shoes.
- 38:21[SPEAKER_01]: And that was like a really big break.
- 38:23[SPEAKER_01]: And I had more than $8.13 profit, like I made a couple hundred bucks, you know, doing that.
- 38:28[SPEAKER_01]: And I would just go and do that.
- 38:30[SPEAKER_01]: And then I started looking around the house.
- 38:33[SPEAKER_01]: I don't wear these scarves anymore.
- 38:34[SPEAKER_01]: Let me see if I can sell them.
- 38:35[SPEAKER_01]: And I take these scarves and I sell them for $5.7.
- 38:37[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, we overlook the small wins.
- 38:41[SPEAKER_01]: But those small wins got me in position to make big wins.
- 38:45[SPEAKER_01]: It's also the reason that I'm able to think outside of the box.
- 38:48[SPEAKER_01]: It's also the reason why I'm able to pivot quickly.
- 38:51[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I'll take the small wins.
- 38:53[SPEAKER_01]: You said you posted something.
- 38:54[SPEAKER_01]: I think it was yesterday.
- 38:55[SPEAKER_01]: I saw it yesterday, though.
- 38:59[SPEAKER_01]: Let y'all know a little secret.
- 39:01[SPEAKER_01]: My speaker rates are very negotiable.
- 39:05[SPEAKER_01]: They're very negotiable if you're local and I didn't have anything to do anyway and I think that some people are sitting on time Where they're not doing anything anyway.
- 39:15[SPEAKER_01]: Go make some money.
- 39:16[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 39:16[SPEAKER_01]: Go figure it out tell somebody.
- 39:18[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, I see you're doing an event I am good at this.
- 39:21[SPEAKER_01]: I just hadn't had my big break.
- 39:22[SPEAKER_01]: I will come and speak for $500.
- 39:24[SPEAKER_01]: I'll come and speak for a hundred dollars I'll come and speak for grocery money for the week.
- 39:28[SPEAKER_01]: I humble myself in that way.
- 39:30[SPEAKER_01]: What do you need?
- 39:31[SPEAKER_01]: I served before I sold
- 39:34[SPEAKER_01]: I served before I was able to get paid.
- 39:36[SPEAKER_01]: I showed up and was hoping that if I just served my way through, maybe somebody shoot me a couple of dollars.
- 39:42[SPEAKER_01]: And those are the things that, that was my journey.
- 39:45[SPEAKER_01]: And I understand that's not everybody's journey, but when we start talking about hard, when we start talking about who we don't have to support, I had no support.
- 39:53[SPEAKER_01]: I had to go and find strangers.
- 39:55[SPEAKER_01]: I had a couple of, and then when I found those strangers, and I started to make some movement, then I had a couple of people,
- 40:01[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I did know that was like always knew you'd be somebody who then wanted to come and start supporting.
- 40:06[SPEAKER_01]: But I had to go out and find strangers.
- 40:08[SPEAKER_01]: I had to trust like, you know, friends that I wasn't sure about the, like, do this with me.
- 40:13[SPEAKER_01]: I did whatever it freaking took.
- 40:17[SPEAKER_05]: I think I think, and this is me thinking, okay?
- 40:21[SPEAKER_05]: I think I'm going to be, I'm going to feel really, really free.
- 40:26[SPEAKER_05]: of our sell a company for $400 million and I just have the like 50 or 60 just there you think I think I feel really good to just not do nothing and just go like be a monk and develop myself and I think I think that's going to be satisfactory for me.
- 40:47[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 40:48[SPEAKER_05]: There's still a lot of pressure of building something like stuff got to work.
- 40:52[SPEAKER_05]: We're in a point where you could just try something that don't work.
- 40:55[SPEAKER_05]: Is that it?
- 40:56[SPEAKER_05]: No.
- 40:56[SPEAKER_05]: No, no, no.
- 40:57[SPEAKER_05]: I don't want anybody to think.
- 40:58[SPEAKER_05]: I'm just the super trillionaire.
- 41:00[SPEAKER_05]: Okay.
- 41:01[SPEAKER_05]: I still struggle.
- 41:02[SPEAKER_05]: Okay.
- 41:03[SPEAKER_05]: I still struggle.
- 41:03[SPEAKER_01]: I think it doesn't work out.
- 41:05[SPEAKER_05]: Still trying to figure this thing out.
- 41:07[SPEAKER_05]: But I think if we can get to that point.
- 41:10[SPEAKER_05]: where I can have, I can have like 50, 40, 30 even.
- 41:16[SPEAKER_05]: I think I'll feel a lot better about myself.
- 41:21[SPEAKER_05]: But then you get to that point that you realize.
- 41:23[SPEAKER_01]: I can't board.
- 41:24[SPEAKER_01]: You lack fulfillment, like I think that you, I think we are a part or people who will always have to be involved in something is just that some of the pressure is reduced
- 41:40[SPEAKER_05]: I saw the Michael Jackson movie, my man going to the little sick kids and just like hanging out with him, spinning mad time with these sick kids.
- 41:48[SPEAKER_05]: I like, oh, that looks cool.
- 41:51[SPEAKER_01]: I'd love to be able to sit around.
- 41:52[SPEAKER_01]: Did you see it?
- 41:53[SPEAKER_01]: Individend, do whatever I want to do.
- 41:55[SPEAKER_01]: You went outside yesterday, right?
- 41:56[SPEAKER_05]: Inside notes, the movie's made.
- 42:00[SPEAKER_05]: the movie itself is extremely mid.
- 42:02[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 42:03[SPEAKER_05]: I didn't look at like this is a great movie.
- 42:05[SPEAKER_05]: We pretty much was we dance the whole time.
- 42:07[SPEAKER_05]: Like, you know, you're, you're, you're, you're, when a bottom on, I don't know how it grows so much because a movie that grows a lot is based on word of mouth like, yeah, you're gonna come see.
- 42:16[SPEAKER_01]: Because Max Michael Jackson has the fans and the fans status.
- 42:21[SPEAKER_01]: that will support him in anything, even if it's me, it's hitting the box office, his fans are going.
- 42:29[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I'm sorry.
- 42:29[SPEAKER_05]: I was selling the side note, but it was super net.
- 42:31[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 42:32[SPEAKER_05]: Any, any, what is your, what is your, like, if you could pay not on life, what would it look like?
- 42:40[SPEAKER_01]: Um, it changes by the day, honestly, it changes by the season, not by the day.
- 42:45[SPEAKER_01]: Well, today.
- 42:49[SPEAKER_01]: I would love to walk into a 50,000 square foot office with a team that I've built that's like running something really important.
- 42:58[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not sure what that is yet, but it's like really important.
- 43:03[SPEAKER_01]: And then other days it's, I don't think I want to do that, right?
- 43:07[SPEAKER_05]: I don't have a whole bunch of humans in my vision.
- 43:10[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, like I don't, I don't think I'm like, oh, oh, but I see myself creating job opportunities
- 43:19[SPEAKER_01]: I want somebody.
- 43:24[SPEAKER_01]: And we've done this, but I at scale, I want to help some people find financial freedom, like real financial freedom.
- 43:33[SPEAKER_01]: I would love to run a company where I'm able to pay a seven-figure salary, where baseline of six figures working here, like this, this is what you do.
- 43:42[SPEAKER_01]: People can achieve like dream life outcomes, working for me.
- 43:46[SPEAKER_01]: I would love to do that, and then maybe sell the company, but
- 43:49[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's a part of my path.
- 43:50[SPEAKER_01]: I really want to help set some people free and train them and teach them and be mentors to them.
- 43:56[SPEAKER_01]: But I don't think there's a life for me where I'll just do nothing.
- 44:01[SPEAKER_01]: Even with all the money, like I'm busy, I'm curious, I move around, I wanna do stuff, but that said,
- 44:09[SPEAKER_01]: There are days for me that I want to do nothing.
- 44:13[SPEAKER_01]: There's days today that I choose nothing, right?
- 44:16[SPEAKER_01]: But I do foresee that I want to be able to still create impact.
- 44:24[SPEAKER_01]: But
- 44:25[SPEAKER_01]: leisurely, but intentionally, if that makes sense.
- 44:28[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I'm not out here stressing about how much money this makes me, but I just get to do things.
- 44:34[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I want to be the person who, like, Tyler Perry hurt what was going on with TSA, and he just pulled up to the airport.
- 44:40[SPEAKER_05]: I want to super cool.
- 44:41[SPEAKER_01]: I want to do that.
- 44:42[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I just want to do that.
- 44:44[SPEAKER_01]: Even when I didn't have a lot of money,
- 44:48[SPEAKER_01]: In the midst of that, I created two non-profits.
- 44:52[SPEAKER_01]: And one of them is called Warm For The Winter.
- 44:54[SPEAKER_01]: The other is called Smart Kids Club.
- 44:57[SPEAKER_01]: And I went through a season where, like, I remember having to rely on other people to create, like, I framed it as, Deja made her back to school list.
- 45:07[SPEAKER_01]: Not, I need help, y'all.
- 45:09[SPEAKER_01]: It was like, Deja made her back to school list.
- 45:10[SPEAKER_01]: And everybody else was able to really contribute in.
- 45:13[SPEAKER_01]: get her some things.
- 45:14[SPEAKER_01]: There was maybe two years that that's what it had to be, right?
- 45:17[SPEAKER_01]: Um, but I've always had this strong affinity for homeless people like just seeing them and wanting to help and it's like I can seek out the ones that really have a story versus the ones that are just out here hustling because there are some homeless people who choose homelessness.
- 45:37[SPEAKER_01]: I'll
- 45:43[SPEAKER_01]: And this guy asked me this homeless guy asked me if I had some money.
- 45:46[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like, I don't have any army, but you can follow me up here to the bank.
- 45:51[SPEAKER_01]: Dumb is thing to do.
- 45:52[SPEAKER_01]: I never do that today.
- 45:53[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, follow me to the bank.
- 45:55[SPEAKER_01]: And so he follows me to the bank.
- 45:57[SPEAKER_01]: And I take out 20 bucks for him.
- 45:59[SPEAKER_01]: And when I take out the 20 bucks and give it to him, he gets in the line.
- 46:04[SPEAKER_01]: Wait, what you doing?
- 46:07[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, oh, oh.
- 46:07[SPEAKER_01]: He's depositing my $20 in his bank account.
- 46:11[SPEAKER_01]: I said, you have a bank account and he's like, yeah, I got a bank account.
- 46:14[SPEAKER_01]: I have a debit card, I have all the things.
- 46:16[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like, you know, at that time you had minimums and I'm sure you do now, but you had like a minimum to keep your account open without the fees.
- 46:23[SPEAKER_01]: And I said, well, what about the fees and, you know, all the things and he said, oh, I got money in my bank account and he showed me he had a couple thousand dollars in his bank account, right?
- 46:31[SPEAKER_01]: He had a couple thousand dollars and he told me in that moment that one he didn't keep cash on him because he got robbed.
- 46:36[SPEAKER_01]: You know, at night he'd go to sleep and they still is stuff.
- 46:38[SPEAKER_01]: So he put his money in the bank.
- 46:40[SPEAKER_01]: And then he said, like, this is my hustle.
- 46:43[SPEAKER_01]: I choose to be homeless.
- 46:45[SPEAKER_01]: That's what he said.
- 46:46[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to work for anybody.
- 46:47[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to subscribe to Payem bills and taxes and all the things.
- 46:52[SPEAKER_01]: I'd rather just do this.
- 46:53[SPEAKER_01]: I'm happy doing this.
- 46:55[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, wow.
- 46:57[SPEAKER_01]: Now I want it my 20 bucks back.
- 47:00[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't, I'm just joking.
- 47:01[SPEAKER_01]: But those, that's not, that's not the avatar of person that I necessarily want to help in that way.
- 47:08[SPEAKER_01]: But those who have gone through something, those veterans of the war who came home disabled and their support ran out.
- 47:15[SPEAKER_01]: Their, their resources ran out.
- 47:18[SPEAKER_01]: I want to I want to be able to help I want to be in a position to help freely and I don't care how much I help.
- 47:23[SPEAKER_01]: I just did it because it feels good to me.
- 47:26[SPEAKER_01]: When Tyler Perry went and just handed out money, I'm like, that's the human that I want to be.
- 47:32[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I think that would be in my, my little vision for myself.
- 47:36[SPEAKER_05]: And I think it continues to be refined every day.
- 47:40[SPEAKER_05]: What I want, it's definitely, I don't see myself owning a building with a whole bunch of people that work there.
- 47:47[SPEAKER_05]: Because it seems like more stress.
- 47:49[SPEAKER_05]: Like I like a small teen people here.
- 47:53[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I have a small teen now and I love it.
- 47:56[SPEAKER_01]: I don't, I don't, I don't want to manage these people every day.
- 47:59[SPEAKER_01]: I don't, I don't want that I want to own something amazing.
- 48:03[SPEAKER_01]: What if I was the emigree, the Donnie Wiggins that own scams?
- 48:08[SPEAKER_01]: Like I would love for that to be my thing.
- 48:11[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not in the office every day and I'm not managing it, but I am, I'm the brand.
- 48:16[SPEAKER_01]: I built this.
- 48:16[SPEAKER_01]: I did this like through my leadership, your motivated, your mentor, your served in.
- 48:21[SPEAKER_01]: There are people who are being served free.
- 48:23[SPEAKER_01]: I don't, I don't want to work in any office today or future where I have to be there every single day.
- 48:28[SPEAKER_05]: I'm for sure be doing this though.
- 48:30[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, for whatever that looks like, I just really deeply am connected.
- 48:35[SPEAKER_01]: Like I have been saying, since I can remember that my desire is to be the voice of hope, so you can go out and build your life by your own design.
- 48:43[SPEAKER_01]: And whatever that looks like to me, I feel fulfilled having an impact or some influence on somebody living their life by their own design.
- 48:53[SPEAKER_05]: Side note doesn't have a whole lot to do with anything that we're talking about right now, but you read me something.
- 48:58[SPEAKER_05]: I thought was super interesting that yes does have to do with money, where the guy that was on read it.
- 49:09[SPEAKER_01]: So this guy, I don't know him, you know, and threats people that you don't follow pop up.
- 49:14[SPEAKER_01]: And so shout out to also Lucius, this is not luscious.
- 49:19[SPEAKER_01]: It's also Lucius.
- 49:21[SPEAKER_05]: Is that the guy?
- 49:22[SPEAKER_01]: That's his name.
- 49:23[SPEAKER_01]: That's his name on thread.
- 49:24[SPEAKER_01]: I have a friend named Lucius.
- 49:26[SPEAKER_01]: So I know that that's how you say this.
- 49:29[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 49:30[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, so Lucius says, so I've always wondered what type of rich shit women I've dated, women I date have experienced.
- 49:38[SPEAKER_01]: Last night I got a taste of what I imagined.
- 49:41[SPEAKER_01]: So Dave's like, what does he mean by that?
- 49:43[SPEAKER_01]: And I imagine that, you know, women who have these standards, like, I'm used to luxury, I'm used to this.
- 49:48[SPEAKER_01]: He's wondering, well, what kind of stuff are y'all out here?
- 49:50[SPEAKER_01]: Experience this.
- 49:51[SPEAKER_05]: Sure, you guys, you guys, take you out wine and then die for you.
- 49:54[SPEAKER_05]: I don't chat to all that.
- 49:57[SPEAKER_01]: Mm-hmm.
- 49:57[SPEAKER_01]: Mm-hmm.
- 49:58[SPEAKER_01]: So then he says, he goes on and he says, my date was about to request an Uber home and I offered to take her instead.
- 50:05[SPEAKER_01]: I figured we could use that time to connect even more.
- 50:08[SPEAKER_01]: I had no idea she lived in a mini mansion.
- 50:11[SPEAKER_01]: We walk in and my mind is blown.
- 50:13[SPEAKER_01]: The most beautiful decor.
- 50:15[SPEAKER_01]: It was like walking into a movie set.
- 50:17[SPEAKER_01]: We roll up and step onto the patio.
- 50:19[SPEAKER_01]: My mind is blown up pole and a hot tub.
- 50:22[SPEAKER_01]: Huge backyard.
- 50:23[SPEAKER_01]: No kids, no husband.
- 50:25[SPEAKER_01]: We step into her bedroom.
- 50:26[SPEAKER_01]: Her computer set up costs more than my car.
- 50:29[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not counting.
- 50:29[SPEAKER_01]: Pock is or anything.
- 50:30[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just extremely observant.
- 50:32[SPEAKER_01]: She shows me her signed poster from the meat and
- 50:38[SPEAKER_01]: Huge jacuzzi with jets.
- 50:41[SPEAKER_01]: This was the very first time in my life.
- 50:43[SPEAKER_01]: I felt like I had nothing to offer a woman, but peace, love, and kindness.
- 50:47[SPEAKER_01]: I can see why insecure men get intimidated by successful women, but I'm not about to play my role.
- 50:53[SPEAKER_01]: This ain't no competition and I don't believe in gender roles.
- 50:56[SPEAKER_01]: I do laundry and rub feet.
- 50:57[SPEAKER_01]: Judge me and argue with your auntie.
- 51:00[SPEAKER_01]: I can finally see how women are attracted to what a man has built and or his output.
- 51:06[SPEAKER_01]: That's never happened to me before.
- 51:08[SPEAKER_01]: I was really impressed and inspired plus she's gorgeous.
- 51:12[SPEAKER_01]: All right, you might have gotten one.
- 51:13[SPEAKER_01]: He might have gotten one.
- 51:14[SPEAKER_01]: She might have got her one.
- 51:15[SPEAKER_05]: Have you experienced men being intimidated by your success?
- 51:19[SPEAKER_01]: Gosh, I don't want to talk about that.
- 51:24[SPEAKER_05]: that's tough though.
- 51:26[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's tough.
- 51:27[SPEAKER_05]: And walking is like, and because I guess a man is supposed to provide.
- 51:32[SPEAKER_05]: I had a guy right before.
- 51:33[SPEAKER_01]: I had a man write me a seven page letter.
- 51:37[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, wow.
- 51:38[SPEAKER_01]: About how much he liked me and wants to be with me and asking me in that letter.
- 51:46[SPEAKER_01]: Like we're telling me in that letter.
- 51:48[SPEAKER_01]: Like this was somebody who had previously been up.
- 51:51[SPEAKER_01]: like they were successful financially.
- 51:53[SPEAKER_01]: And he went through a hard time, his career changed everything shifted.
- 51:56[SPEAKER_01]: And he wrote me a letter to say, like, I'm not even comfortable dating you like this.
- 52:04[SPEAKER_01]: And for clarity, we dated when he was up, like back in the day.
- 52:09[SPEAKER_01]: And then we lost contact.
- 52:10[SPEAKER_01]: And then maybe like 15 years later, we reconnect on social media and we go on a date and it's very different.
- 52:20[SPEAKER_01]: like he's he's very different is very different from what I was used to and not used to but very different than how I experienced him the first time the first time he lived in like this mansion drove the luxury car and had a great career was the vibe different or not for me like the vibe was the same and so back then because of his career and where it was taking him I won't say his career but because of his career and where it was taking him and because of me you know and
- 52:46[SPEAKER_01]: really prioritizing my daughter and not being able to move like him, like we weren't able to make that work, right?
- 52:52[SPEAKER_01]: But then here's later we end up connecting on social media and it's no longer like the mansion in the house.
- 52:58[SPEAKER_01]: In the cars, it's now he's driving, you know.
- 53:02[SPEAKER_01]: of probably an older model, very average car, and he lives at home with his parents because he's in transition.
- 53:11[SPEAKER_01]: He's back living at home with his parents and he's trying to figure, he's trying to get his business off the ground, but really no extra money to do a whole lot.
- 53:21[SPEAKER_01]: And so we connect on social media and he's like, let me take you to breakfast.
- 53:24[SPEAKER_01]: And we go to breakfast and it was like, we had not had that distance.
- 53:28[SPEAKER_01]: It was like, oh my God!
- 53:29[SPEAKER_01]: I missed you so much, it was amazing.
- 53:32[SPEAKER_01]: And I really, I would have married that man.
- 53:37[SPEAKER_01]: but he could not get past the fact that I had elevated to this level.
- 53:42[SPEAKER_01]: I wasn't this version of me back then.
- 53:45[SPEAKER_01]: He walked in my apartment and you got all the things.
- 53:48[SPEAKER_01]: I know what you're used to and the kind of dates that I'm taking you on, like going to the cafe or going to the grab breakfast or taking you to get ramen.
- 53:57[SPEAKER_01]: That just wasn't suitable for him because of how he dated me before.
- 54:01[SPEAKER_01]: And no matter how many times I told him, like, I don't care about any of that.
- 54:05[SPEAKER_01]: In him I saw somebody I could build with and him I saw evidence of hard work.
- 54:10[SPEAKER_01]: He could not shake it.
- 54:11[SPEAKER_01]: He could not shake leaving my house to go back to his parents' house and he wrote me this really, really, really long letter.
- 54:18[SPEAKER_01]: And I was really disappointed that he let the insecurity win.
- 54:25[SPEAKER_05]: Something like that can pierce your ego, man.
- 54:28[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, especially when you describe you like super up, as soon as you say your liver does parents, I said, oh man, not that it's a terrible thing, but I can imagine what that's like for him.
- 54:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 54:40[SPEAKER_05]: They have been that person.
- 54:42[SPEAKER_05]: They're in like, yeah.
- 54:43[SPEAKER_05]: And take you to breakfast because we're not doing dinner.
- 54:46[SPEAKER_01]: We're not going to dinner.
- 54:47[SPEAKER_05]: So much you can spend.
- 54:47[SPEAKER_01]: And we're going to the bar and grill.
- 54:50[SPEAKER_01]: We're not going to the boutique.
- 54:53[SPEAKER_01]: restaurants and I get it because I was told by another man that you got to let a man you got to let that kind of man grow when they're in a season like that.
- 55:02[SPEAKER_01]: You got to let them grow so they're free to grow and that's kind of what I did.
- 55:06[SPEAKER_01]: I wasn't going to push the issue but you know at the same time you know I desire to build with somebody.
- 55:13[SPEAKER_01]: I don't require that they come to the table with all the pieces figured out.
- 55:16[SPEAKER_01]: I just require that they come with some pieces
- 55:23[SPEAKER_01]: struggle with that, and he was probably more of a man who didn't.
- 55:31[SPEAKER_01]: I think that if I didn't make as much money as I did, and I said, hey, hey, let me help you build this.
- 55:37[SPEAKER_01]: He would have taken it.
- 55:38[SPEAKER_01]: But because I was in the position that I was in, and I'm like, let me help you build this, even though I didn't mean money, I meant, like, let me stretch your ideas.
- 55:46[SPEAKER_01]: Let me connect you to some people.
- 55:47[SPEAKER_01]: Let me help you figure this out because the roles were now reversed financially.
- 55:53[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, but he could also be like, Prince, I came on coming to America.
- 55:59[SPEAKER_05]: He couldn't really still be up and then orchestrating this, let me step my parents to see where you at.
- 56:06[SPEAKER_05]: And he still got bread, but he's like, trying to listen.
- 56:09[SPEAKER_01]: I wasn't the person who didn't, you know, was the solution.
- 56:14[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we're cool, we're cool.
- 56:16[SPEAKER_01]: And he's moving his way back up.
- 56:18[SPEAKER_01]: Like he's stable again, he's doing this thing.
- 56:21[SPEAKER_01]: So is there a, you know?
- 56:22[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know because now like what if he goes down again, right?
- 56:25[SPEAKER_01]: No, no, no, no, no, and I don't mean it that way.
- 56:28[SPEAKER_01]: What if what if what if life happens?
- 56:30[SPEAKER_01]: And I mean this seriously, I have to, what if life happens?
- 56:34[SPEAKER_01]: and his finances are challenged again.
- 56:36[SPEAKER_01]: Do you start to treat me differently?
- 56:38[SPEAKER_01]: Do you want to end the marriage?
- 56:39[SPEAKER_01]: Do you, you know, do you, can you handle it?
- 56:42[SPEAKER_01]: Does it suffocate you again?
- 56:43[SPEAKER_01]: Like the way people handle adversity in hard times?
- 56:47[SPEAKER_01]: It's very telling.
- 56:48[SPEAKER_01]: It's very telling.
- 56:49[SPEAKER_05]: It's a terrible word if they'll die.
- 56:51[SPEAKER_01]: No, it happens.
- 56:53[SPEAKER_01]: Look at Danielle Leslie was up 25 million.
- 56:57[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, but look, you might find some of us up now and they all get together and life happens.
- 57:02[SPEAKER_05]: The way it happens.
- 57:02[SPEAKER_05]: It will first fall.
- 57:04[SPEAKER_01]: He's moved.
- 57:05[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't live in the city anymore.
- 57:06[SPEAKER_01]: He lives far, far away.
- 57:08[SPEAKER_01]: So though we can still communicate, we don't really.
- 57:12[SPEAKER_05]: Really.
- 57:13[SPEAKER_01]: We don't really, not that far, we don't really communicate.
- 57:17[SPEAKER_01]: And not only does he live far, the work that he does requires him to be gone often.
- 57:22[SPEAKER_01]: So you live far and you're always somewhere else that could be in the country out of the country.
- 57:26[SPEAKER_01]: I support him, he's valuable.
- 57:28[SPEAKER_01]: I just wish he knew his value, his value, then.
- 57:31[SPEAKER_05]: I feel like I feel like, man, I'm so glad I'm not in this piss and fester dating pool.
- 57:36[SPEAKER_05]: It seems really difficult.
- 57:37[SPEAKER_05]: It seems really, especially at this level
- 57:42[SPEAKER_05]: And so when I met my wife, it was 2018, 2017.
- 57:47[SPEAKER_05]: And I had a little something, I had enough to impress her.
- 57:50[SPEAKER_05]: You know what I mean?
- 57:50[SPEAKER_05]: A little something like, now was driving a 2001 suburban, and that's when... Dang, it was tan, wasn't it?
- 57:58[SPEAKER_01]: I remember that suburban.
- 57:59[SPEAKER_05]: I have a lot, but I also had a little lexist though.
- 58:02[SPEAKER_05]: The suburban was paid off though, but I would drive that one.
- 58:05[SPEAKER_05]: So I didn't have a whole lot, so it's not like...
- 58:08[SPEAKER_05]: We were probably making the same amount of money.
- 58:11[SPEAKER_05]: She worked the job and you know, had some good money and I lived in this one bedroom apartment.
- 58:16[SPEAKER_05]: I was paying maybe 750 a month if you're a hundred miles a month and she liked me.
- 58:23[SPEAKER_05]: But now where I'm at, I, I'm, I'm just so blessed that I found my queen, but because I couldn't imagine somebody like me, you don't know why people,
- 58:35[SPEAKER_05]: are into you.
- 58:36[SPEAKER_05]: And if you meet them here and something happens, it's like, I don't know if I like this anymore.
- 58:43[SPEAKER_05]: And I think that's a real, it's not even like being a gold digger.
- 58:46[SPEAKER_05]: It's like, this is what I'm here.
- 58:49[SPEAKER_05]: I'm enjoying this experience.
- 58:51[SPEAKER_05]: If you can't give me those experiences anymore.
- 58:54[SPEAKER_01]: And even even as women, you have to at any financial level, you really have to be
- 59:02[SPEAKER_01]: Cauchas about why people want you, you know, when you don't have any money, they want you for your beauty, they want you for your looks and as soon as something happens, you know, that's over with, but when you do have some money.
- 59:13[SPEAKER_01]: men out here really be gold diggers really yeah or or opportunists or opportunists like I dated I went on some dates with somebody who was just a clear opportunist and and that's one of the things so dating is hard but again you choose your heart right I meet great guys just as much as I meet not so great guys and honestly I don't really meet a whole lot of nice not so great guys but y'all out there we know one that's out there right now I meet some not so great guys
- 59:40[SPEAKER_01]: And there will be people that really date you for who you are.
- 59:45[SPEAKER_01]: And in that particular situation, I believe that it was that.
- 59:49[SPEAKER_01]: Like this person was aware of me before I was aware of them.
- 59:52[SPEAKER_01]: And they're an opportunist and it's like, let me position myself next to this person who can introduce me to a whole bunch of people that can create opportunities for me.
- 1:00:00[SPEAKER_01]: I believe that happened and you have to be careful.
- 1:00:04[SPEAKER_01]: I remember one time I was on like Tinder hinge.
- 1:00:07[SPEAKER_01]: I'm still on those dating apps by the way.
- 1:00:10[SPEAKER_01]: People always DM me on Instagram like no people always let me see I want to see no Why not people DM me why can't I see the profile they'll DM me often and say somebody made a fake profile of you on you know this app and I'd be like oh it's me and then they'll go back and like it and absolutely not I need to see I want to see your profile I can probably help you no so help me in real life
- 1:00:36[SPEAKER_05]: I need to see your profile.
- 1:00:37[SPEAKER_01]: I need to see what you got on.
- 1:00:38[SPEAKER_01]: You don't need that profile to see.
- 1:00:40[SPEAKER_05]: Yes, sir.
- 1:00:41[SPEAKER_05]: My perspective of what I'm looking at will help me to help me on the dating app.
- 1:00:48[SPEAKER_01]: I want you to really put your thinking cap on and say, who do I, who do I know in real life?
- 1:00:53[SPEAKER_01]: But here's the thing.
- 1:00:54[SPEAKER_01]: So, I remember being on this dating app and at the time,
- 1:01:00[SPEAKER_01]: I was trying to be like inconspicuous.
- 1:01:02[SPEAKER_01]: So my name was just D, my real pictures, but my name was D. And I'm chatting with this guy, and, you know, he cute, I'm cute, and I have a bad habit of matching with people.
- 1:01:11[SPEAKER_01]: I think I'm a people watcher, like, I never really taken off of the app, right?
- 1:01:15[SPEAKER_01]: But this one guy, finally, somebody, I'm gonna take it off the app.
- 1:01:18[SPEAKER_01]: So we're chatting back and forth in this D, D, D, D. And so I give him my phone number.
- 1:01:23[SPEAKER_01]: And we get on the phone and this man like I say something funny because I'm pretty funny and he is laughing his butt off and he was like Donnie girl, you so funny and I'm like That's funny.
- 1:01:40[SPEAKER_01]: I said what you just call me?
- 1:01:44[SPEAKER_01]: He said Donnie.
- 1:01:46[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, okay, yeah, so, obviously I know something about you.
- 1:01:53[SPEAKER_01]: And...
- 1:01:55[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm not a celebrity.
- 1:01:57[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not on that like influencers stuff.
- 1:01:59[SPEAKER_01]: I know that I'm influential, but I don't lead with those titles, but I'm aware that I'm popular.
- 1:02:04[SPEAKER_01]: And people know who I am.
- 1:02:06[SPEAKER_01]: And so when we had been chatting in the app for like two weeks, whole time you never mention anything, you're asking me questions as if you have absolutely no idea who I am.
- 1:02:15[SPEAKER_01]: We get on the first phone call and you use my name.
- 1:02:19[SPEAKER_01]: Like you're like, wow, that's so interesting.
- 1:02:21[SPEAKER_01]: Can't wait to meet you.
- 1:02:22[SPEAKER_01]: Can't wait to do this, that any other, all the things.
- 1:02:25[SPEAKER_01]: I just felt like, you know, you lucky pretended like you didn't know who I was, and I don't know how to feel about that.
- 1:02:32[SPEAKER_01]: We can't talk anymore.
- 1:02:34[SPEAKER_01]: Like, to me, that's a girl behavior.
- 1:02:36[SPEAKER_01]: Like, that's that stuff.
- 1:02:38[SPEAKER_01]: Women do.
- 1:02:38[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, no, I don't know that you're Chris Brown.
- 1:02:41[SPEAKER_01]: Where have I been all these years?
- 1:02:43[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't know that you played for the Dallas Caput, like that stuff guys do.
- 1:02:47[SPEAKER_01]: And so I felt like he had won up on me and he could have been
- 1:02:54[SPEAKER_01]: he could have been communicating with me based on all these other things that he already knew because he knew but he he wanted to sound perfect but you don't sound you're watching the podcast or you're on my social media whatever it is that you know and you're saying the things that you know what fit my personality we're not together trying to get to know each other versus if he had said if we had matched because this has happened
- 1:03:16[SPEAKER_01]: What's up, Donnie?
- 1:03:17[SPEAKER_01]: Like I know exactly who you are familiar with what you do.
- 1:03:19[SPEAKER_01]: I think you're dope.
- 1:03:20[SPEAKER_01]: Like I'm glad we matched.
- 1:03:22[SPEAKER_01]: I'm with it.
- 1:03:23[SPEAKER_01]: Cool.
- 1:03:23[SPEAKER_01]: But pretending and then slipping up and saying my name.
- 1:03:27[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 1:03:27[SPEAKER_05]: What kind of one do you like, man?
- 1:03:29[SPEAKER_05]: Somebody just got a personality, this ambitious entrepreneur, somebody that maybe isn't afraid to get her voice out into the work.
- 1:03:37[SPEAKER_01]: Well, and that's exactly what it was.
- 1:03:40[SPEAKER_01]: Like we're literally chatting in some voice notes, and he's like, you know, these guys out here today, you know, I just think we're missing the mark on love, man.
- 1:03:49[SPEAKER_01]: Men are so concerned about strong women being strong, and you need a strong woman.
- 1:03:54[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like, wow, he's one of the one who gets in.
- 1:03:57[SPEAKER_01]: He's not just episode right there.
- 1:03:58[SPEAKER_01]: You're watching the podcast.
- 1:04:00[SPEAKER_05]: I definitely run this and I got you.
- 1:04:02[SPEAKER_05]: I got somebody that, you know, if they got a kid, it's fine as long as they're a little older.
- 1:04:07[SPEAKER_01]: He said like he's he's just given stuff and I'm just thinking like wow like he really gets it we're on the app we're talking about friendship and you know he's like I value friendship friendship is so important to me you know I'm not I'm not one of those guys that's insecure even about opposite sex friendships like you know I dated a girl who had a male best friend I'm totally cool with it
- 1:04:27[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, okay.
- 1:04:28[SPEAKER_05]: All right.
- 1:04:32[SPEAKER_05]: Fuck you.
- 1:04:32[SPEAKER_05]: No.
- 1:04:32[SPEAKER_05]: No.
- 1:04:32[SPEAKER_05]: No.
- 1:04:33[SPEAKER_05]: No, that's funny.
- 1:04:33[SPEAKER_01]: So I just, I felt, I felt played.
- 1:04:36[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
