- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with our radio. Hello everyone, welcome to the Almost same
- 0:08Speaker 1: As podcast. Today I have a special guest host, Ari
- 0:12Speaker 1: lion Dike is here. Welcome him. Everyone. Hello, Ben is traveling,
- 0:17Speaker 1: so Ari's filling in and we're going to talk all
- 0:19Speaker 1: about the episode and then we have some special guests on.
- 0:23Speaker 1: We'll get to that in a little bit. Hey, Ari,
- 0:25Speaker 1: how's life right now? You had a whole month? Was
- 0:28Speaker 1: it a whole month in Hawaii? Yes? I was in
- 0:31Speaker 1: Hawaii for a month. It was not all that, but
- 0:33Speaker 1: I don't have to say it was pretty awesome. Um.
- 0:35Speaker 1: First off, thank you guys for having me. I feel
- 0:38Speaker 1: very honored. So Ben, wherever you are, thank you, brother.
- 0:42Speaker 1: This is really cool to be on with you, and
- 0:43Speaker 1: I'd love I can't wait to chat about the episode. Actually,
- 0:47Speaker 1: full disclosure, this is the first episode I've watched in
- 0:51Speaker 1: two years. What I thought you guys used to do,
- 0:53Speaker 1: like YouTube recaps two seasons to see two seasons? Ye?
- 0:57Speaker 1: So since um your season? Okay, so yeah, it's been
- 1:02Speaker 1: a while. So you didn't watch Clarentatious season? Oh? I
- 1:06Speaker 1: watched the first part of Claire's season. Did not watch
- 1:09Speaker 1: season is that because you felt like you you know
- 1:12Speaker 1: Claire better. No, I just got a bunch of kids,
- 1:15Speaker 1: and I got a lot of kids, not a lot
- 1:20Speaker 1: of time. That's awesome. So I guess if I ask
- 1:22Speaker 1: you how you feel about Katie Thurston and Blake Boyn's breakup,
- 1:26Speaker 1: you don't have much to say, zero to say. I mean,
- 1:29Speaker 1: I didn't watch her season. Um I feel bad that
- 1:31Speaker 1: they broke up. You know, that's not not what we
- 1:34Speaker 1: want to see out of an ending. But yeah, I
- 1:36Speaker 1: didn't watch our season, so I don't know how much
- 1:38Speaker 1: input there. Well, I guess I have to give my
- 1:40Speaker 1: two cents on it. Um. Ben did talk about it
- 1:43Speaker 1: briefly in yesterday's mini episode, and I guess, like I guess,
- 1:47Speaker 1: I didn't see them going the long haul. I mean,
- 1:50Speaker 1: as horrible as that is to say, like there was
- 1:51Speaker 1: just like something missing a lot with them either on
- 1:56Speaker 1: after the final rows during the proposal, it just seemed
- 1:59Speaker 1: like he was a little bit hesitant to propose. I
- 2:02Speaker 1: don't know there was something missing there, but I didn't
- 2:04Speaker 1: think they would break up this fast, Like that's only
- 2:07Speaker 1: like four months as boyfriend and girlfriend or fiance as
- 2:10Speaker 1: I suppose. Yeah, I mean that is quick. Um, you
- 2:13Speaker 1: think they would have like hunging out a little bit
- 2:15Speaker 1: to do I don't know, some appearances together and have
- 2:18Speaker 1: some fun travel. I mean that beginning stage is just
- 2:21Speaker 1: a whirlwind. So it's kind of they must have been
- 2:23Speaker 1: pretty incompatible, I know. And to think back on the
- 2:28Speaker 1: last few episodes and the fact that Greg was seemingly
- 2:33Speaker 1: going to be her final pick, and I just wonder
- 2:36Speaker 1: if watching that back in the drama between the two
- 2:39Speaker 1: of them just dented something for Blake and just made
- 2:43Speaker 1: him never be able to think about her, never be
- 2:47Speaker 1: able to think of himself as her number one pick, honestly.
- 2:51Speaker 1: And that is a thing like when you watch the
- 2:54Speaker 1: season back with your fiance, it is really really tough,
- 2:59Speaker 1: Like you and I are like the last thing like
- 3:01Speaker 1: that we can't even speak because first off, Jared didn't
- 3:04Speaker 1: pick me a lot Lauren at the end, I know
- 3:08Speaker 1: I didn't. You can't get over it. So that's probably
- 3:16Speaker 1: wasn't That probably wasn't their biggest issue. I remember. I
- 3:20Speaker 1: think Jordan and Jojo like didn't watch their season until
- 3:23Speaker 1: years later. And I feel like that is a good
- 3:25Speaker 1: piece of advice. Probably maybe if you're the last one
- 3:29Speaker 1: standing and you have the ring. I just don't watch,
- 3:32Speaker 1: you know, don't do it. Don't do it. Uh. And
- 3:35Speaker 1: then in other Bachelor news, Oh my gosh, Chris Harrison
- 3:38Speaker 1: and Laurence Zema got engaged. Now this is something I
- 3:41Speaker 1: did see coming. I actually thought that they like got
- 3:45Speaker 1: engaged in April. If you remember that picture, she was
- 3:47Speaker 1: like in a white dress. They were at a wedding
- 3:49Speaker 1: and there was like some very romantic caption. I was like,
- 3:51Speaker 1: oh my god. So seeing this one, I was like, Okay,
- 3:55Speaker 1: so here it is. I'm so happy for them. I
- 3:58Speaker 1: find them to be such a compatible couple. They're both
- 4:01Speaker 1: so um, They're warm, and they are so witty, like
- 4:06Speaker 1: I can only imagine like the back and forth yes
- 4:09Speaker 1: and private. Yeah. I'm really happy for Chris obviously, you know,
- 4:14Speaker 1: tough going last six months from so for him to have,
- 4:18Speaker 1: you know, this happy moment between him and Lauren, it's
- 4:20Speaker 1: really cool. I'm really happy for him. I feel like
- 4:22Speaker 1: all of Bachelor Nation is happy for him. So good
- 4:25Speaker 1: to see all that love and support from everyone on
- 4:27Speaker 1: his post. Yes, yes, yes, And she just seems to
- 4:30Speaker 1: be like a great support system for him throughout this,
- 4:33Speaker 1: you know, six seven months. Yeah, anyway, Okay, So like Ari,
- 4:38Speaker 1: I know we talked to you back I think in
- 4:40Speaker 1: July when we first announced that I was pregnant, and
- 4:43Speaker 1: um you yeah, yeah, well you were the one and
- 4:49Speaker 1: almost Um we are an ascarrow now and it's all
- 4:54Speaker 1: because of you. I messaged Ari and I was like, seriously,
- 4:58Speaker 1: the HD Chief podcast that we did with Gap Home,
- 5:03Speaker 1: he said something that was like so inspirational that we
- 5:05Speaker 1: hadn't heard from any real letor and it was that
- 5:09Speaker 1: your money sitting in the bank is like kind of
- 5:12Speaker 1: vulnerable to inflation, but the money that you have in
- 5:18Speaker 1: the house is far more secure. And we were like,
- 5:21Speaker 1: oh my gosh, that is brilliant. And then we started
- 5:25Speaker 1: looking at houses again and we found the only house
- 5:28Speaker 1: we've seen in you know, we casually have been looking
- 5:31Speaker 1: for nine months, you know, sometimes more seriously than others,
- 5:34Speaker 1: and we found the one house that we were like, yeah, okay,
- 5:37Speaker 1: this is worth it. We think this is worth it.
- 5:39Speaker 1: So it's kind of a house that we imagine ourselves
- 5:41Speaker 1: in for like three years, definitely like a first kid,
- 5:43Speaker 1: maybe like second baby in the house. Um yeah, but
- 5:47Speaker 1: we're we're excited and it's really all because of you.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Thank you. Thanks and then okay, but like you guys,
- 5:58Speaker 1: just with the twins, I I and more mind boggled
- 6:03Speaker 1: every day about how you do it, like three kids
- 6:07Speaker 1: under the age of three? Yeah, and like what's what's
- 6:13Speaker 1: your life? Like? How how do you do it? Do
- 6:16Speaker 1: you ever like break down and cry? Is it always
- 6:20Speaker 1: worth it? I mean, I'm definitely getting va sect to me,
- 6:29Speaker 1: but I mean, no, it's worth it. It is worth it.
- 6:31Speaker 1: It's just I think this is kind of like, uh,
- 6:34Speaker 1: I feel like a lot of parents they say this,
- 6:37Speaker 1: this little term called like a season of life, Like
- 6:39Speaker 1: this is just a very difficult season of life. I
- 6:42Speaker 1: love them so much and there it's just when we're
- 6:45Speaker 1: away from them or even when they go to bed,
- 6:46Speaker 1: we're on her phones looking at pictures of them. So
- 6:48Speaker 1: we're obsessed obviously, but it is a very difficult season
- 6:52Speaker 1: to get through. The late nights and sometimes they don't sleep,
- 6:57Speaker 1: and it's just you never really can have a solid plan.
- 6:59Speaker 1: You have to be adaptable all the time so that
- 7:02Speaker 1: you can handle it. You know, some nights were crying.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Some nights I want wine, but I can't because I
- 7:08Speaker 1: know I'm gonna get up seven times. The Norman nights
- 7:11Speaker 1: have to be ready. I don't know, it's just a
- 7:13Speaker 1: different Uh, it's just a different life. But it's I
- 7:16Speaker 1: wouldn't take it back, and I think it's um as
- 7:18Speaker 1: a new parent of twins, it's really it's it's tough.
- 7:22Speaker 1: Like I never realized how how tough it would be,
- 7:25Speaker 1: but it's tough for sure. Okay, so when we travel
- 7:27Speaker 1: with our dog, yeah it's enough, like just with our
- 7:31Speaker 1: dog in the carrier. I can't imagine having three kids
- 7:35Speaker 1: to joke around. So how did you do Hawaii? Well,
- 7:38Speaker 1: you know, we have a YouTube channel and I wanted
- 7:41Speaker 1: to document like traveling, like how to travel. But you
- 7:44Speaker 1: need to do you need all the hands you can get,
- 7:46Speaker 1: so like there was no way to this. Okay't blogging
- 7:51Speaker 1: I need I need a hand to be able to blog. No,
- 7:54Speaker 1: it's um. Yeah, there's like a bunch of little tips.
- 7:57Speaker 1: You know, you can just check everything you can becase
- 8:00Speaker 1: we had so many check backs. I think we had
- 8:02Speaker 1: twelve check backs and uh, but strollers and car seats
- 8:08Speaker 1: don't count, so like kids stuff doesn't count towards the
- 8:10Speaker 1: check back. Now, that's like the kindest thing the airlines
- 8:13Speaker 1: have ever done. I know, really, I mean normally they're
- 8:16Speaker 1: just like taking your take your money out every return,
- 8:18Speaker 1: but that is nice. Um yeah, I mean it was
- 8:22Speaker 1: just it was exhausting, but they all did really good.
- 8:26Speaker 1: They did better. Just prepare for the worst and then
- 8:28Speaker 1: if it's not terrible and a complete nightmare, then you'll
- 8:32Speaker 1: be like, oh, we did it and it was wasn't
- 8:33Speaker 1: that bad. Now you have one, you know, two girls
- 8:39Speaker 1: and a boy. What are the difference between sexes? Oh?
- 8:45Speaker 1: Girls are so much more work really, Okay, so this
- 8:48Speaker 1: is good news for me. Our boy locks he's so
- 8:51Speaker 1: easy and sweet and he's like sleeps and eats and
- 8:56Speaker 1: that is it. I mean, he's just very chill. Our
- 9:00Speaker 1: girls and it's just like wants to be held all time.
- 9:03Speaker 1: She cries more, she just is. But she's like full
- 9:06Speaker 1: of life and it's like very interactive with me. Um.
- 9:11Speaker 1: But just more work. I don't know why. I don't
- 9:14Speaker 1: know if it changes when they start running around, but
- 9:17Speaker 1: I heard boys are easier in the beginning and then
- 9:19Speaker 1: harder when they get to be like toddlers. Okay, okay,
- 9:22Speaker 1: I can see that. And just Lauren's belly, this is
- 9:26Speaker 1: this is what I've been wondering for the past couple
- 9:29Speaker 1: of days, I've like definitely I met six months. Now
- 9:33Speaker 1: I'm at that point where like I'm feeling like some pressure.
- 9:36Speaker 1: My belly button is starting to pop out, which I
- 9:38Speaker 1: thought for some reason I was going to be immune to.
- 9:41Speaker 1: But like now it's like there. And I was thinking
- 9:44Speaker 1: about Lauren and how she carried two kids on her
- 9:47Speaker 1: tiny frame, Like how uncomfortable was she those last three months?
- 9:53Speaker 1: She actually was, I would say more uncomfortable with a lessie.
- 9:57Speaker 1: And I don't know why. It's because she knew what
- 10:00Speaker 1: to expect the second time around. But yeah, her, Yeah,
- 10:05Speaker 1: I don't know. I think that would be more of
- 10:07Speaker 1: a question for her. But she she's like super mom.
- 10:10Speaker 1: I don't know, she's she does pregnancy in a way
- 10:13Speaker 1: that's just beautiful. And I think she looked gorgeous the
- 10:17Speaker 1: whole through way throughout. Um, the sleeping at the end.
- 10:21Speaker 1: It is just was really hard for her and that
- 10:22Speaker 1: it was about kind of the big thing that's stuck out,
- 10:25Speaker 1: you know, Well bless her. That is very nice. Uh
- 10:31Speaker 1: My last question for you are before we get into
- 10:34Speaker 1: the episode, Uh, is about your vosecto mate? Is it planned?
- 10:37Speaker 1: Because that's a great headline. Okay, um, yeah. I mean
- 10:43Speaker 1: we were in Hawaii and it was really challenging because
- 10:47Speaker 1: Hawaii doesn't have Postmates, they don't have grocery stores that
- 10:50Speaker 1: are open late. They basically it's like going back in
- 10:55Speaker 1: time thirty years. I don't know what. It was hard
- 10:58Speaker 1: with the twins because there was just less like help
- 11:01Speaker 1: like you did, like right now. It's like I don't
- 11:03Speaker 1: want to cook dinner. I just order Postmates. There you
- 11:05Speaker 1: have to go to a mergery store, which for us
- 11:06Speaker 1: was like a twenty minute drive, and it was like
- 11:09Speaker 1: very difficult. And this is when you decided, yes that
- 11:12Speaker 1: at that point, we're like this is it, this is
- 11:18Speaker 1: starting here to help, you know. We just like we
- 11:20Speaker 1: just felt a little bit like overwhelmed, and so we decided,
- 11:25Speaker 1: I think as a couple that three's enough. I think
- 11:29Speaker 1: we're we're so happy because we have our boy, we
- 11:32Speaker 1: have the two girls, and I am already forty guys,
- 11:36Speaker 1: I can't be having kids and any later than this
- 11:39Speaker 1: in life. I want to be like an active dad.
- 11:41Speaker 1: So I think I think three is okay. Yeah, I
- 11:44Speaker 1: think three is great. All right, Well we are going
- 11:48Speaker 1: to take a quick break and then we're going to
- 11:50Speaker 1: get the musical guests from this week Caroline Jones on
- 11:54Speaker 1: the podcast and ask her all about the chemistry between
- 11:59Speaker 1: j A, Me and Michelle. Alright, guys, we have Caroline Jones,
- 12:13Speaker 1: a country music singer and songwriter and radio host. Her
- 12:17Speaker 1: most recent album, Bear Feet, was released in March two, eighteen,
- 12:21Speaker 1: and she just made an appearance during last night's Date
- 12:25Speaker 1: with Jamie and Michelle. Hello, Caroline, Welcome to the podcast.
- 12:31Speaker 1: Hi Ashley, how are you. I'm so good. How are you?
- 12:34Speaker 1: I'm really good? Thanks? Great? So are you a Bachelor
- 12:38Speaker 1: fan by any chance? I am? Um, not quite as
- 12:43Speaker 1: much as my sisters, who I've been kind of trailing
- 12:46Speaker 1: behind for the past few years. But yeah, it's very exciting.
- 12:49Speaker 1: It's been something that we've watched together before. So amazing.
- 12:53Speaker 1: So first of all, I want to say that you
- 12:55Speaker 1: did incredible. I loved your performance. Such an amazing voice.
- 13:01Speaker 1: Um was it? How different was it singing in front
- 13:05Speaker 1: of them and being sort of in that I guess
- 13:08Speaker 1: production space instead of being you know, in a typical setting. Yeah,
- 13:13Speaker 1: on stage in front of a crowd, right, You're really
- 13:16Speaker 1: performing for um, someone's very intimate moment, which is also
- 13:22Speaker 1: being you know, filmed. So It's a very unique circumstance.
- 13:26Speaker 1: I've never done anything quite like that, and I'm a
- 13:29Speaker 1: super romantic person by nature. Um, and so for me
- 13:34Speaker 1: it was very heartwarming. It was very exciting because we
- 13:37Speaker 1: we sound checked a lot before um before they came in,
- 13:41Speaker 1: so we were kind of ready to go, and they've
- 13:43Speaker 1: been on their date and he'd gotten the rows and
- 13:45Speaker 1: so it was a very very special moment for them,
- 13:48Speaker 1: I know, and obviously for for me and my band.
- 13:52Speaker 1: You sang the song chasing Me, which yes, just like
- 13:55Speaker 1: is that. I loved it and it comes off of
- 13:59Speaker 1: your new album, Antipods, which was released last Friday. So
- 14:02Speaker 1: what's the timing on that? Like? Wow? How great? I know? Well,
- 14:07Speaker 1: actually we announced the album last Friday. The full alt
- 14:10Speaker 1: Antipoties will be out November twelve. Well, so I'm really excited.
- 14:16Speaker 1: This song is really really special to me. I wrote
- 14:18Speaker 1: this song a few years ago about the kind of
- 14:21Speaker 1: love that I always envisioned for myself and the kind
- 14:24Speaker 1: of man that I always wanted, and the kind of
- 14:25Speaker 1: romantic values that I was raised with that I really,
- 14:28Speaker 1: um still believe in. I'm a little old fashioned that way,
- 14:32Speaker 1: And actually it's funny when the song first came out
- 14:35Speaker 1: was almost three years ago. Um, and I remember talking
- 14:41Speaker 1: to my sisters and trying to manifest getting it on
- 14:44Speaker 1: The Bachelor. A perfect song, yeah, because it's He's chasing
- 14:48Speaker 1: me and all those values and all those kind of
- 14:51Speaker 1: romantic dreams and fantasies. Um, it's all encapsulated in this show.
- 14:56Speaker 1: So it's just so cool that that dream came true.
- 15:00Speaker 1: It's amazing how long I've been singing since I was
- 15:04Speaker 1: like ten years old, really young, and um, I've been
- 15:07Speaker 1: singing professionally since I was you know, out of high
- 15:10Speaker 1: school into college, um, and writing my own songs and
- 15:14Speaker 1: producing my own records and just slowly building a grassroots
- 15:18Speaker 1: career in country pop. And the past few years, um,
- 15:22Speaker 1: I've been able to get a lot more of a
- 15:24Speaker 1: platform and a lot a lot grow my fan base
- 15:27Speaker 1: quite a bit thanks to Zach Brown Band and Jimmy
- 15:30Speaker 1: Buffett and Kenny Chesney and Faith Hill and to mcgrawn
- 15:33Speaker 1: and folks have taken me on tour and really like
- 15:35Speaker 1: taking me under their wing and introduced me to their audiences.
- 15:38Speaker 1: So hopefully this sort of gives you a whole new
- 15:42Speaker 1: audience now that they've seen I know, it's very exciting.
- 15:47Speaker 1: It's a it's a very real phenomenon Bachelor Nation. You know,
- 15:52Speaker 1: it's a very dedicated fan base. Um, and so I
- 15:56Speaker 1: feel very honored to have that kind of platform to
- 15:59Speaker 1: share my music, you know, which is my heart and soul,
- 16:01Speaker 1: just like Michelle's bearing her heart and soul um on
- 16:04Speaker 1: this show. I love that year, just like a true
- 16:07Speaker 1: romantic and that you manifest and you manifested it to
- 16:11Speaker 1: be on the Bachelorette. And then it was so how
- 16:15Speaker 1: is that? It's so cool? How was the d Like
- 16:19Speaker 1: was it the date that you always imagine the song
- 16:22Speaker 1: to be played? Too? Like? Did they have the chemistry
- 16:26Speaker 1: that you were hoping they'd have? Yeah? And the set
- 16:30Speaker 1: that they created was so beautiful, Like I remember walking
- 16:32Speaker 1: into it way before. This was like hours before Michelle
- 16:36Speaker 1: walked into it. But um, it was just so beautiful.
- 16:40Speaker 1: I mean, the the art team there and the like
- 16:42Speaker 1: the sex that they create and the ambiance they create
- 16:45Speaker 1: is so magical. And um, and then you know, we
- 16:49Speaker 1: we you don't know when they're coming exactly because um,
- 16:52Speaker 1: they're obviously on a date and their dinner went a
- 16:55Speaker 1: really long time and so we're all there in action
- 16:58Speaker 1: it was really sweet. Yeah, I loved it. Wait you
- 17:01Speaker 1: didn't answer the question though, we need to know. Was
- 17:03Speaker 1: there was there chemistry? Did you feel their love for
- 17:06Speaker 1: each other? Did you feel it? Well, it is the
- 17:09Speaker 1: second episode, so I'm not sure if love is the
- 17:14Speaker 1: right term yet. But I definitely felt some sparks for Absolution.
- 17:19Speaker 1: There was definitely chemistry there. They were definitely sparked there. Um,
- 17:24Speaker 1: and they're both very very sweet. Did you get to
- 17:27Speaker 1: chat with him afterwards? Yeah? I did. I got to
- 17:30Speaker 1: chat with them a little bit, and they're both great,
- 17:33Speaker 1: and um, I saw Michelle actually earlier in the day.
- 17:36Speaker 1: It was it's like a very interesting filming process and dynamic. Um,
- 17:42Speaker 1: because of COVID you had we had to be really
- 17:45Speaker 1: careful coming in and quarantining and because they're like a
- 17:47Speaker 1: real bubble, you know. But I did get to see
- 17:50Speaker 1: her earlier in the day, and um, she's great, she's
- 17:53Speaker 1: really smart. I really like her. Amazing. I think you
- 17:56Speaker 1: touched on the art team and for and how they
- 18:01Speaker 1: create such an amazing um scenario and amazing set and
- 18:07Speaker 1: an amazing I guess the place you have a sphere
- 18:10Speaker 1: to fall in love and it is it is interesting.
- 18:12Speaker 1: I think seeing that from behind the scenes, you don't
- 18:15Speaker 1: realize how much work is put into that side of
- 18:18Speaker 1: the show. Um. And they are really like the unsung
- 18:21Speaker 1: heroes to make the Bachelor look and feel romantic as
- 18:26Speaker 1: it is, and just having your music laid on top
- 18:29Speaker 1: of that, it's just like thing on the cake. You know.
- 18:31Speaker 1: It's really cool. Yeah, it is. And when they were there,
- 18:34Speaker 1: they'd also put together a whole amazing pool party, and
- 18:39Speaker 1: I mean they pull out all the stops for this
- 18:42Speaker 1: show and it it really, like you say, adds the
- 18:44Speaker 1: experience of the contestants and obviously of Michelle Um, but
- 18:48Speaker 1: it really added to my experience too, because to perform
- 18:51Speaker 1: and a setting like that is just puts you in
- 18:53Speaker 1: the right space. You know, lots of fans ask if
- 18:58Speaker 1: performing is awkward at all for the two people. We
- 19:02Speaker 1: kind of touched on this before, but is it weird
- 19:05Speaker 1: just like watch two people kiss in front of you
- 19:08Speaker 1: as you sing? Not really, it wasn't really. I think
- 19:12Speaker 1: I'm just so romantic because I think it was. It
- 19:14Speaker 1: was a little I'll say this, the only moment that's
- 19:19Speaker 1: a little bit I wouldn't say awkward, but a little
- 19:22Speaker 1: bit jarring. Is like when they first walk in, like,
- 19:25Speaker 1: oh my god, you remember when you were in church
- 19:28Speaker 1: and you're like, oh my god, what if I just
- 19:29Speaker 1: burst out laughing or like scream or something, you know
- 19:31Speaker 1: what I mean, Like I have that kind of feeling.
- 19:33Speaker 1: I was like, because it's like the moment that they're
- 19:35Speaker 1: building up too. And then they walk in and there's
- 19:37Speaker 1: the reveal and you're playing your song, and I was like,
- 19:40Speaker 1: what have I just great character? Like? Um? But it
- 19:48Speaker 1: was great. It was at once they got in and um,
- 19:52Speaker 1: you know, got cuddly on you know, during the song,
- 19:56Speaker 1: and it was it was very sweet. I loved it.
- 19:58Speaker 1: And they've been on a really I mean, as you
- 20:01Speaker 1: see on the show, they've been on a great date
- 20:02Speaker 1: that whole day. So they were really um in a
- 20:07Speaker 1: in a special kind of vibe together. Now. I don't
- 20:11Speaker 1: know if you've seen the episode yet, have you no? Okay, Well,
- 20:16Speaker 1: towards the end of the episode, Jamie is a little
- 20:18Speaker 1: bit vilified. So I gotta know if that surprises you,
- 20:23Speaker 1: just based on a little bit you got to know
- 20:25Speaker 1: of him, it actually does survive me because you seemed
- 20:28Speaker 1: so sweet. Um. But I don't know, I'll have to
- 20:33Speaker 1: I'll let you know after I see it tight. They
- 20:34Speaker 1: won't let me see it ahead of time, so as
- 20:36Speaker 1: soon as I see it, I will I'll get back
- 20:38Speaker 1: to you, all right. Well, Caroline, thank you so much
- 20:41Speaker 1: for being here. So if people want to get the
- 20:43Speaker 1: song that you performed on the show Chasing Me, is
- 20:46Speaker 1: it available on Spotify and apples? That Chasing Me is
- 20:50Speaker 1: available on all platforms. The music videos on YouTube and
- 20:54Speaker 1: it starts Cody Walker. That's a very romantic video. If
- 20:57Speaker 1: you're if you're a Bachelor our Nation member, you would
- 21:01Speaker 1: like that video. And yeah, it's all available and you
- 21:05Speaker 1: can pre order my only antipathies now. Thank you so
- 21:07Speaker 1: much for being here. Thank you guys, what a pleasure. Bye. Alright, Ari,
- 21:22Speaker 1: it is my favorite time with the podcast. Time to
- 21:25Speaker 1: break down the episode. We've got episode two, and I
- 21:30Speaker 1: thought it was so much better than episode one. Praise, praise, praise,
- 21:35Speaker 1: But you didn't watch episode one. This is the first
- 21:37Speaker 1: episode you're watching here. But the thing is like the
- 21:40Speaker 1: first episodes never like no, you have to get through
- 21:46Speaker 1: the first one and need everyone to build sort of
- 21:49Speaker 1: the I don't know, build up to the second one.
- 21:53Speaker 1: The second episode is always when it kicks off. For me,
- 21:56Speaker 1: at least are kind of like, I don't know to formulaic.
- 22:02Speaker 1: They need to they need to mix it up. I've
- 22:05Speaker 1: even told the producers to their face, I'm like you, guys,
- 22:08Speaker 1: night one, you need to read, you need to redo something. Yeah,
- 22:13Speaker 1: Jared has a good idea for a future season to
- 22:17Speaker 1: have fifteen cast members, to just have fifteen, but like
- 22:21Speaker 1: for them to be like the prime ones, so we
- 22:23Speaker 1: don't have anybody forgettable, like anybody that you just know
- 22:27Speaker 1: is going to be eliminated in the first few episodes. Yeah,
- 22:30Speaker 1: you really get to know everyone anyway. Okay, so let's
- 22:33Speaker 1: get in to part one, which is basically the first
- 22:39Speaker 1: group date, and that is a classroom simulation kind of
- 22:44Speaker 1: similar to what like Jared and I did on Tatious season,
- 22:47Speaker 1: but this makes even more sense because you know she's
- 22:49Speaker 1: a teacher. They do math, they do spelling, they do
- 22:53Speaker 1: little chemistry, and the big the drama storyline in this
- 22:59Speaker 1: is the pizza preneur. Peter is apparently also like a
- 23:05Speaker 1: little bit of a drama queen slash narcissist. According to
- 23:10Speaker 1: um what's his name? Who Who's called him? In narcis
- 23:14Speaker 1: When he held the sign that said what's spelled narcissist Peter. Yeah,
- 23:19Speaker 1: I forget his name, but that was that was funny.
- 23:21Speaker 1: I thought it was funny too. I thought Peter in
- 23:25Speaker 1: the first episode was really entertaining, and now I just
- 23:28Speaker 1: see he's like kind of a dick. Yeah, what's your
- 23:31Speaker 1: take on him? Yeah, I feel like he has a
- 23:34Speaker 1: villain vibes. He's gonna stick around for a couple of
- 23:36Speaker 1: episodes because he's gonna make the show interesting. I think,
- 23:41Speaker 1: is there anything else that stood out to you about
- 23:43Speaker 1: that that scene that date? Yea, the scene not really.
- 23:46Speaker 1: I mean I feel like he did come across like
- 23:49Speaker 1: over aggravated and I don't know, defensive um. But I
- 23:56Speaker 1: feel like the date overall was really cool. I thought
- 23:58Speaker 1: the kids were really switched on and funny. I feel
- 24:01Speaker 1: like fifth graders are way smarter than I remember, and
- 24:06Speaker 1: I would have totally bonded on the spelling as well.
- 24:08Speaker 1: The spelling was with protein. I was like I before
- 24:14Speaker 1: e I'm like, okay, yeah, okay, that is how you
- 24:16Speaker 1: spell protein. Um. Then that drama between the two of
- 24:24Speaker 1: them kind of carries onto the night section of the date.
- 24:27Speaker 1: Michelle ends up hearing the fight and then she pulls
- 24:30Speaker 1: Peter aside and says like, hey, if that's how you
- 24:33Speaker 1: deal with drama just by like yelling, like I don't
- 24:37Speaker 1: know if this is going to be if you're like
- 24:39Speaker 1: the kind of person for me, She kind of gives
- 24:41Speaker 1: him a slide. But the big standout towards the night
- 24:45Speaker 1: portion was Brendan, who he's like Mr suave right, like
- 24:53Speaker 1: very smooth. Can't spell that he smooth? Yes, he doesn't
- 24:58Speaker 1: have like a lot to say and like the flirty lines.
- 25:01Speaker 1: I can't say how I really know the guy, but
- 25:04Speaker 1: he um, he's he's um wooing her. Yeah, you could
- 25:09Speaker 1: tell that she was feeling him. One thing I noticed
- 25:12Speaker 1: throughout the episode which I picked up on her, she's
- 25:15Speaker 1: a very she leans in during all the conversations, which
- 25:19Speaker 1: is like very inviting for men. You know, she's not
- 25:23Speaker 1: sitting back or sitting straight or proper. She's like very engaged. Yes,
- 25:27Speaker 1: I felt like she could kiss the guys at any moment,
- 25:31Speaker 1: like they had the invitation. Yes. I was like, is
- 25:34Speaker 1: she like leaning in and You're like no, I think
- 25:37Speaker 1: she's just talking that way. And then I was like
- 25:40Speaker 1: I felt like she wanted to kiss everybody there. Me too,
- 25:42Speaker 1: Me too. Rick with somebody who I was actually surprised
- 25:47Speaker 1: that she was down to kiss. He showed up last
- 25:50Speaker 1: week in a room service tray and his face was
- 25:54Speaker 1: like in a salad plate. You probably you may have
- 25:57Speaker 1: seen that. No, so, like, I don't know that his
- 26:02Speaker 1: entrance is night one was like the sexiest thing to her.
- 26:06Speaker 1: But then they played mad libs and then she went
- 26:08Speaker 1: in for it or he went in for it, and
- 26:10Speaker 1: she was cool with it. Yeah, I mean kudos, you know.
- 26:14Speaker 1: I like it. I like it as a former kissing bandit.
- 26:18Speaker 1: I like it. There's one guy who we didn't see
- 26:21Speaker 1: a lot of in this group date who I think
- 26:25Speaker 1: might have like an ego thing, like he thinks he
- 26:27Speaker 1: should have been seen a lot during the group day.
- 26:29Speaker 1: And that was Romeo. He he um said something about
- 26:34Speaker 1: having his his degree from Harvard and mathematics. I think
- 26:39Speaker 1: that guy just I think he uh, he just thinks
- 26:42Speaker 1: that he's the cats meout. I like. I like the
- 26:46Speaker 1: contestants that just kind of fly underder the radar, that
- 26:48Speaker 1: are like confident but don't like make too many waves.
- 26:52Speaker 1: Those are usually the ones that make it far, you know,
- 26:56Speaker 1: just quietly confident. No, I agree with you. There there
- 27:00Speaker 1: is a couple of guys that I just that they
- 27:04Speaker 1: they seem to really not want to involve themselves in drama,
- 27:08Speaker 1: as if they've actually watched the show before. Like these
- 27:11Speaker 1: guys are like, I'm not going to spend my time,
- 27:14Speaker 1: uh talking about that? Are confronting so and so like
- 27:17Speaker 1: I'm here for Michelle. I'm like, oh, these guys know
- 27:20Speaker 1: what they're doing this season? Yeah, well, I mean you
- 27:24Speaker 1: watch enough of it you kind of yeah. Alright. So
- 27:28Speaker 1: the first one on one is with Jamie, and Jamie
- 27:31Speaker 1: definitely made an impression on night one. Jamie's whole story
- 27:38Speaker 1: arc during this episode was kind of fascinating to me.
- 27:41Speaker 1: It kind of made the episode. So when he first
- 27:45Speaker 1: gets the one on one date card, everybody starts kind
- 27:49Speaker 1: of like hating on him. They put the scary music
- 27:51Speaker 1: behind him because he says something like I've got to
- 27:54Speaker 1: figure out whether Michelle is compatible for me, whether she
- 27:58Speaker 1: could do my lifestyle. And the eyes are like, what
- 28:02Speaker 1: why would you ever question such a thing? You should
- 28:05Speaker 1: be worshiping her? And I was like, hey, I may
- 28:08Speaker 1: not be getting the greatest vibes from him, and maybe
- 28:11Speaker 1: I'm susceptible to the music. I try not to be
- 28:15Speaker 1: but this is a fine thing to contemplate and a
- 28:18Speaker 1: fine thing for you to go into a day trying
- 28:20Speaker 1: to figure out. That's probably healthy. It's healthy to take
- 28:24Speaker 1: that way too. That's how you would think in a
- 28:26Speaker 1: regular situation. So for him to have those questions, I
- 28:30Speaker 1: think it also would lead to a more normal conversation
- 28:34Speaker 1: between two people. You know, you don't want to put
- 28:37Speaker 1: someone on a crazy pedestal and then try to live
- 28:40Speaker 1: up to them. You want to see if you're a match. Yeah,
- 28:44Speaker 1: it's a good approach. I was like, this guy is
- 28:47Speaker 1: just being normal. I like it. Then they go on
- 28:50Speaker 1: the day to Joshua Tree. They climb. They climb. That
- 28:54Speaker 1: looks hard, That looks like a very tough physical date. Yeah,
- 29:00Speaker 1: look cool. Yeah, Michelle is in such good shape and
- 29:03Speaker 1: she's so freaking pretty and I could like just like
- 29:07Speaker 1: look at her all day. But that's a different note.
- 29:09Speaker 1: And they get to the top and they're really feeling.
- 29:13Speaker 1: They're feeling each other. They Jamie says, like doing things
- 29:18Speaker 1: or what relationships are all about. He's helping her climb,
- 29:22Speaker 1: he's being a good guid um. Michelle just like likes
- 29:25Speaker 1: the way that he's like handling the date. Like as
- 29:29Speaker 1: a as a great support system. Yeah, anything else to say.
- 29:34Speaker 1: Normally I have to be the one to to I
- 29:37Speaker 1: don't know, boost lead the date. Yea, he took lead
- 29:41Speaker 1: and took the lead on it, so yeah, that's cool. Yeah,
- 29:44Speaker 1: so I'm like, okay, okay, they like each other. And
- 29:46Speaker 1: then I continue to feel the chemistry over dinner and
- 29:51Speaker 1: even though like, Okay, I don't know what it is
- 29:53Speaker 1: about him, but I like have some red flags in
- 29:56Speaker 1: like weird feelings, do you Yeah, like I did at
- 30:00Speaker 1: that point, and I was like, why am I feeling this?
- 30:04Speaker 1: He's not really letting anything on to warrant it. Maybe
- 30:08Speaker 1: just because he dropped like a huge bomb on his
- 30:11Speaker 1: back story and it was like no, but it was
- 30:13Speaker 1: before the conversation. Don't you think maybe he's like had
- 30:17Speaker 1: that in the back of his mind, Like so he
- 30:20Speaker 1: like to you the viewer, maybe he thought he was
- 30:23Speaker 1: withholding something he was just like scared to like reveal
- 30:29Speaker 1: you know, what makes him him and his past could
- 30:31Speaker 1: be could be okay. So I don't know, I remember,
- 30:34Speaker 1: I don't know. I remember when I was a contestant.
- 30:36Speaker 1: I feel like that first date, you know, producers are like, Okay,
- 30:39Speaker 1: you're gonna tell, you know, tell him your whole life
- 30:42Speaker 1: story because this could be the last time you have
- 30:45Speaker 1: dinner with her, and and that whole build up is
- 30:49Speaker 1: a kind of tense, you know. I don't know, I
- 30:51Speaker 1: didn't get that. Okay, well that's good. No, I like
- 30:53Speaker 1: like different perspectives, especially with him in his storyline right now. Okay,
- 30:58Speaker 1: So yeah, they sit down and they talk about how
- 31:01Speaker 1: she just had the best upbringing and like great relationship
- 31:04Speaker 1: role models, and then he says that he had the
- 31:07Speaker 1: complete opposite. You know, his dad wasn't exactly in the picture,
- 31:11Speaker 1: and his mom was so hands on, so great until
- 31:13Speaker 1: about twelve or thirteen, when she kind of got hit
- 31:17Speaker 1: by a mental health issues and eventually lad for him
- 31:23Speaker 1: to like not always be at school, him and his
- 31:26Speaker 1: sister like trading off having to take care of the
- 31:29Speaker 1: mom and be home like basically on suicide Watch. Turns
- 31:32Speaker 1: out she ends up committing suicide when he's twenty four.
- 31:36Speaker 1: It's just like the most heartbreaking story, Like I just
- 31:38Speaker 1: was very like goes on a plane and just like
- 31:42Speaker 1: my hands are on my head, just like, oh my gosh,
- 31:45Speaker 1: this poor guy was terrible, so sad, so sad, it's
- 31:51Speaker 1: just really like, I don't know, it's like where do
- 31:55Speaker 1: you go after that conversation? Go home and cry? You
- 31:58Speaker 1: know what I mean? I don't know, Like it kind
- 32:00Speaker 1: of ended. It was like a very somber I mean,
- 32:03Speaker 1: obviously it's somber, but it was almost too heavy. Like
- 32:06Speaker 1: I know, there's always always like heavy backstories and you
- 32:10Speaker 1: want to spill your guts on that first day. But
- 32:11Speaker 1: I'm like, dang, I could have waited a little longer
- 32:14Speaker 1: for that conversation. That was a heavy one. Michelle says
- 32:18Speaker 1: that she was proud of what he's come through and
- 32:21Speaker 1: to carry all that weight as a young person, and
- 32:25Speaker 1: she's amazed about how he's been able to navigate through
- 32:27Speaker 1: all that. She says she's beyond impressed, and he says
- 32:31Speaker 1: that he loves that. She didn't say like I'm sorry,
- 32:35Speaker 1: but like sees how it impacted the man that he became. Uh.
- 32:41Speaker 1: But then after that, we we go into they do pivot.
- 32:47Speaker 1: They get out of that tragedy. Wait, what was the
- 32:50Speaker 1: more tragedy? The next step The next is a group day,
- 32:54Speaker 1: but the leading is talking about how the coach. Yeah,
- 32:59Speaker 1: so now you're going from one sad thing I was
- 33:03Speaker 1: so sad in the middle of the episode because just
- 33:05Speaker 1: one from one sad thing to another sad thing. Yeah,
- 33:09Speaker 1: eat up to the group date, and I was interested
- 33:13Speaker 1: at the fact that they let him be on the
- 33:16Speaker 1: phone with his mom. How do you think that went down?
- 33:19Speaker 1: Because one, of course, the guys don't have phones, which
- 33:22Speaker 1: means that the mom would have had to reach out
- 33:25Speaker 1: to a producer. And did you ever give your parents
- 33:29Speaker 1: or family member producer info before leaving? Yes, I did too,
- 33:36Speaker 1: And I remember I called my dad on his birthday
- 33:39Speaker 1: that too. Little things like that, but not a lot
- 33:42Speaker 1: of communication, very limited, always with the producer next to me.
- 33:46Speaker 1: But I feel like if there's a dapt to someone
- 33:48Speaker 1: who's very close to you, I feel like that's kind
- 33:50Speaker 1: of like we gotta let them know, you know. Yeah,
- 33:53Speaker 1: I totally agree. Yeah, I could see how they how
- 33:57Speaker 1: they you know, okay, gave him the phone to be
- 34:01Speaker 1: able to talk to his mom about that. Yeah, that
- 34:04Speaker 1: was that we're talking about Joe, and Joe is the
- 34:07Speaker 1: guy that Michelle had d m about a year or
- 34:11Speaker 1: so ago because they both were very involved in the
- 34:13Speaker 1: basketball community in Minnesota. And then of course it leads
- 34:17Speaker 1: into a basketball date. I mean how did that even?
- 34:21Speaker 1: How did that even happen? Because these dates are planned
- 34:23Speaker 1: in advance. I mean, there are no coincidences in back
- 34:28Speaker 1: to the World. I'd feel like they were like, we
- 34:32Speaker 1: gotta do a basketball date, right, They're like, let's make
- 34:35Speaker 1: a court. Maybe I'm a conspiracy theorist, but they're like,
- 34:39Speaker 1: we gotta get a basketball date, so now we can
- 34:42Speaker 1: have this tie in amount. So now we get to
- 34:46Speaker 1: the basketball court and we see Joe and Michelle hitting
- 34:50Speaker 1: it off immensely on like the warmups. Right, It's like
- 34:56Speaker 1: nobody else is in the room because they just want
- 34:58Speaker 1: to talk about Minnesota, ask of all, and they just
- 35:01Speaker 1: want to play one on one. Mm hmm, yeah, yeah.
- 35:05Speaker 1: I feel like the date was I don't know. Like
- 35:07Speaker 1: I said before, I'm a little bit of a conspiracy
- 35:10Speaker 1: conspiracy theorist, and I'm like, I feel like they just
- 35:13Speaker 1: put that together last minute. I don't know. It was
- 35:16Speaker 1: all for Joe, Like even if the coach didn't pass
- 35:20Speaker 1: away that week, they wanted Joe to be the star
- 35:25Speaker 1: of the group date, and I wanted Joe to be
- 35:27Speaker 1: the star of the group day. So it worked out.
- 35:29Speaker 1: You know, why why did you want to start? Because
- 35:32Speaker 1: because he was having a bad, sad time. Why not,
- 35:35Speaker 1: you know, if he's a good person, and you know,
- 35:38Speaker 1: I think that's it, just as a nice little put
- 35:41Speaker 1: a little bow on that whole little group date, you know.
- 35:44Speaker 1: And you didn't even know that the two of them
- 35:46Speaker 1: d m and then he ghosted her. No, I didn't
- 35:49Speaker 1: know that I might formulate it. I would have formulated
- 35:52Speaker 1: in a different opinion at that point, because what would well,
- 35:57Speaker 1: then I wouldn't be so stoked that he you know
- 36:01Speaker 1: what I mean that he got the time and got
- 36:03Speaker 1: the basketball day and then got the group date Rose. Yeah,
- 36:07Speaker 1: you know, yeah, I see both sides. I think it's
- 36:11Speaker 1: I think that he has a couple of little red
- 36:13Speaker 1: flags there. But I also feel like she likes him
- 36:18Speaker 1: too much for like us to say she shouldn't go
- 36:24Speaker 1: with her feelings. There's something like kind of desk in there.
- 36:29Speaker 1: I don't know, there's something in there. Yeah, there's something
- 36:31Speaker 1: something there, all right. So they play you know, group
- 36:35Speaker 1: on group basketball Blue team verse red team, and the
- 36:39Speaker 1: red team ends up losing even though Joe is on
- 36:43Speaker 1: that team. The blue team wins, and so therefore they
- 36:47Speaker 1: get to go to the after party. But of course,
- 36:50Speaker 1: because Joe must be the star of the group date.
- 36:54Speaker 1: There's a little exception. He's m v P of the
- 36:56Speaker 1: day and the m v P gets to go to
- 36:58Speaker 1: the nighttime portion of the date. And I don't think
- 37:02Speaker 1: in real life, I don't think the m v P
- 37:04Speaker 1: has ever. Yeah, I know that's what the guys are
- 37:07Speaker 1: pointing out. That guys are like, this doesn't add up,
- 37:11Speaker 1: Like this doesn't add up. So Joe and Michelle have
- 37:15Speaker 1: their little romantic sit down one on one time, and
- 37:19Speaker 1: they talked about how basketball was their first love, and
- 37:22Speaker 1: Joe ends up talking about how we found out that
- 37:25Speaker 1: day that his coach had passed away, and you know,
- 37:28Speaker 1: he says that I feel like you understand this in
- 37:30Speaker 1: a way that a lot of people wouldn't, And she
- 37:32Speaker 1: does understand that the um impact that a coach can
- 37:36Speaker 1: have on a player's life, like on and off the
- 37:39Speaker 1: court had Did you ever have a coach like that?
- 37:44Speaker 1: Do you replace some with with Nascar? Yeah? There anything
- 37:48Speaker 1: you don't really have. I mean no, because I didn't
- 37:52Speaker 1: really play too many like ball and stick sports, But
- 37:55Speaker 1: I can see how a coach, especially many young persons life,
- 38:00Speaker 1: can be hugely inspirational and obviously, like a father figure
- 38:05Speaker 1: in a way. Um, so I could see that, but no,
- 38:08Speaker 1: I haven't had that experienced myself. Well, you feel the tension,
- 38:12Speaker 1: but like the sexual tension between them. They end up kissing, uh,
- 38:15Speaker 1: and then you just kind of know that he's definitely
- 38:18Speaker 1: going to be getting this group date. The other guys
- 38:21Speaker 1: that are worth mentioning about the group date is probably Nate,
- 38:26Speaker 1: who got the first impression rose last week. Uh, they
- 38:29Speaker 1: just kind of have it. He says that he's happy
- 38:32Speaker 1: that he's there and that opposite attract since he's bad
- 38:37Speaker 1: at basketball. Uh. And he says that he feels like
- 38:40Speaker 1: not a lot of the other guys have the connection
- 38:42Speaker 1: that him and Michelle have. He thinks he's getting the rose,
- 38:46Speaker 1: but we all know you don't get the first impression
- 38:48Speaker 1: rose and then go on to get the next group
- 38:51Speaker 1: date rose. And he felt a little slighted too when
- 38:55Speaker 1: they panned over to him his He was like kind
- 38:57Speaker 1: of surprised. Yeah, yeah, I love looking at the other
- 39:01Speaker 1: guy's faces when they don't get the rose and they
- 39:04Speaker 1: expected to. Yeah, I do hate how I don't know
- 39:08Speaker 1: if she did this, but there's like when you're the bachelor,
- 39:13Speaker 1: or you know you're kind of asked to go around
- 39:17Speaker 1: the room and say like, actually, you're great to pay
- 39:21Speaker 1: you know. But you know, but if you've never been
- 39:26Speaker 1: on a group date, the first person you talked to,
- 39:29Speaker 1: they think they're going to get it. So maybe she
- 39:32Speaker 1: was like, you know, Nate, I really feel connection with you.
- 39:38Speaker 1: You did great today, and then she went around the room.
- 39:40Speaker 1: You know what I mean, Because that's like one of
- 39:43Speaker 1: those things to get those awkward reactions on camera now
- 39:46Speaker 1: looking back like hindsight, you know, and then they just
- 39:52Speaker 1: kind of how they want. But it's always the reactions
- 39:55Speaker 1: are always the best. But that sort of leads in
- 39:57Speaker 1: and that's why you get those re actions too. Sometimes.
- 40:01Speaker 1: I never thought of it like that, but that's so true.
- 40:05Speaker 1: You know. If you're I've never been on a group date,
- 40:07Speaker 1: you don't know you think the first person I'm gonna
- 40:08Speaker 1: talk to you is gonna get it? You know. Yeah.
- 40:14Speaker 1: The only other guy I think to talk about during
- 40:17Speaker 1: this group date Rose is possibly Martin. Martin is the
- 40:22Speaker 1: guy with the bleach blonde hair. You give anything to
- 40:25Speaker 1: say about him. He's got awesome hair, Like I dyed
- 40:31Speaker 1: my hair during COVID. You know, we're still kind of
- 40:34Speaker 1: in COVID. Maybe I'll die again. But I just thought
- 40:37Speaker 1: like his hair was like the perfect amount of bleach
- 40:40Speaker 1: in there. The haircut was on was fire. He's got
- 40:45Speaker 1: a great barber, that guy. That's all I really have
- 40:47Speaker 1: to say that. I think I dig his style. Yeah,
- 40:50Speaker 1: he's kind of like the token commentator, like he'll be
- 40:53Speaker 1: around to like say things, but there won't be any
- 40:56Speaker 1: intense chemistry. All right, guys, we're gonna take a quick
- 41:02Speaker 1: break and we will be back with all the thoughts
- 41:06Speaker 1: on the row ceremony and cocktail party where all the
- 41:10Speaker 1: drama went down. Alright, So cocktail party, ari, this is
- 41:25Speaker 1: when it was dramatic because we see Jamie quickly become
- 41:31Speaker 1: I won't say a villain, but maybe have a villainous streak.
- 41:36Speaker 1: He he hears that Joe had had prior communication with Michelle.
- 41:45Speaker 1: He also heard, in which we're not super sure that
- 41:49Speaker 1: it's related, that she was seen with a basketball player
- 41:54Speaker 1: around Minnesota, and I thought, my, like, my my interpretation
- 42:01Speaker 1: of that was that they were the same person at first,
- 42:04Speaker 1: that Joe and this basketball player would have been the
- 42:07Speaker 1: same person, and that he was thinking like, oh, maybe
- 42:10Speaker 1: it wasn't just d m NG. Maybe like they actually
- 42:12Speaker 1: had a relationship before she got on the show, and
- 42:14Speaker 1: this guy is like totally advanced in this process. But
- 42:18Speaker 1: he also says he goes to the guys, he's I
- 42:23Speaker 1: want to know if anybody has like a leg up here,
- 42:26Speaker 1: and then he goes in tells Michelle, I don't care
- 42:30Speaker 1: if anybody else's like that's a leg. But yeah, he's like,
- 42:37Speaker 1: because I feel secure in our relationship. But the other
- 42:39Speaker 1: guys they want to know. I'm like, oh, okay, Jamie,
- 42:46Speaker 1: um interesting, Yeah, So how do you know? How do
- 42:51Speaker 1: they know that Joe has talked to her through Instagram before?
- 42:57Speaker 1: How do they know that? How do the guys? How
- 43:00Speaker 1: does anyone know that? How did you know it? Okay, Well,
- 43:03Speaker 1: they talked about that. So during the intro, during Joe's intro,
- 43:07Speaker 1: she turned, he walks away, and she goes, is your
- 43:11Speaker 1: name Joe? And he says yeah. And then later in
- 43:14Speaker 1: the episode, she reveals to like the audience and she
- 43:18Speaker 1: and Joe have a conversation about how she reached out
- 43:22Speaker 1: to him on Instagram and they had a very brief
- 43:26Speaker 1: back and forth, like she said, it's like two messages before.
- 43:28Speaker 1: He just didn't really say anything else, but because of
- 43:32Speaker 1: you know, there their involvement in basketball in Minnesota. Like
- 43:37Speaker 1: she'd always kind of like known of him, and she
- 43:40Speaker 1: was like a little intrigue, which is why she reached out. Ah, yeah,
- 43:45Speaker 1: she's banger alled over him a little bit. A little bit.
- 43:49Speaker 1: He did reply, but then he gave a lame excuse
- 43:54Speaker 1: an episode one about why he like didn't make more
- 43:59Speaker 1: of an effort there. He said he kind of blamed
- 44:04Speaker 1: He kind of blamed like the George Floyd movement and
- 44:09Speaker 1: just living really close to the epicenter and just feeling
- 44:13Speaker 1: all these emotions that he couldn't really sort out. And
- 44:16Speaker 1: she was like, if you didn't think that anybody would
- 44:19Speaker 1: didn't don't you think that that's something that I would understand? Like,
- 44:22Speaker 1: that's just kind of that's just like not an excuse
- 44:25Speaker 1: for me. Yeah, that's what I mean. Red flags with him.
- 44:29Speaker 1: I think like that because she's like, you're just you're
- 44:34Speaker 1: gonna ghost me, but you're not gonna like be been
- 44:36Speaker 1: sure enough to have a conversation about that anyway. Um, Okay,
- 44:40Speaker 1: So then during this conversation between Jamie and Michelle, she says,
- 44:45Speaker 1: is it to the point where these guys aren't respecting me,
- 44:49Speaker 1: and then he said, yes, it's getting there. But really
- 44:55Speaker 1: it was only like two or three guys that kind
- 44:58Speaker 1: of knew that there was something going on with Joe.
- 45:03Speaker 1: It was not the mass population of men. And then
- 45:07Speaker 1: when and then she gets super emotional about this, leaves
- 45:12Speaker 1: the cocktail party, it comes back, says to the guys,
- 45:15Speaker 1: you know, I just want to clarify what happened between
- 45:18Speaker 1: me and Joe. It was like literally two d ms.
- 45:22Speaker 1: We've never met in real life. I've never met any
- 45:24Speaker 1: of these men in real life, like, never communicated with them,
- 45:27Speaker 1: like voice to voice or anything like that. And if
- 45:30Speaker 1: any of you are like doubting me, um, and you're
- 45:36Speaker 1: then like, I'm not cool with that and then walks away,
- 45:41Speaker 1: and then all the guys are like, um, what just
- 45:44Speaker 1: happened there? First off? Yeah, first off, had no idea anything,
- 45:50Speaker 1: but had prior happened with Joe. And secondly, who's talking
- 45:54Speaker 1: about this? Who's doubting her? Who's disrespecting her? And all
- 45:58Speaker 1: the guys start asking getting like who was that? Who
- 46:01Speaker 1: would have possibly said that to her? And Jamie does
- 46:05Speaker 1: not face up. And what I found interesting about this
- 46:11Speaker 1: is that normally, and like I only I don't want
- 46:14Speaker 1: it to come out wrong, but normally somebody who has
- 46:17Speaker 1: a sad story is relatively protected by the show for
- 46:22Speaker 1: a little while. But with this, we hear a sad story,
- 46:26Speaker 1: we get emotionally invested into Jamie for a while, and
- 46:29Speaker 1: then you know, yeah, isn't that? Is that? That was?
- 46:35Speaker 1: I found that a fascinating component of this episode. Maybe
- 46:39Speaker 1: it's because he isn't there for very long, so it's
- 46:42Speaker 1: interesting for us right now. But then maybe in two
- 46:45Speaker 1: weeks will be like, you know, he's gone anywhere. That
- 46:49Speaker 1: could be it, or he could linger for a long
- 46:52Speaker 1: time and she never she never sees anything bad about him.
- 46:57Speaker 1: All right, well then, uh, they skipped the rest of
- 47:01Speaker 1: the cocktail party. There's one thing I do need to
- 47:04Speaker 1: talk about, though, and that was the hilarious moment between
- 47:09Speaker 1: her and is it rod I don't know no names. Okay,
- 47:16Speaker 1: we're still trying to figure out the names. I feel
- 47:18Speaker 1: like it's like episode four, you're exactly what was that
- 47:23Speaker 1: guy's name? Again, I'm not investing myself into learning your
- 47:26Speaker 1: name until I know you're sticking around for a while.
- 47:29Speaker 1: It was Rodney, and he was a guy Ari, which
- 47:32Speaker 1: last week showed up and he said he was a
- 47:36Speaker 1: Granny Smith apple, but he was wearing a red apple costume,
- 47:40Speaker 1: and she was just like, this is not okay. You
- 47:43Speaker 1: obviously don't know you're the differences between apples, and there's
- 47:46Speaker 1: a huge difference between apples. I think I may have
- 47:49Speaker 1: said on the podcast last week, but like, I find
- 47:52Speaker 1: Macintosh should be absolutely repulsive. And I grew up with
- 47:57Speaker 1: my mom only buying McIntosh apple, so I therefore thought
- 48:01Speaker 1: I didn't like apples, but I do. I just hate Macintosh. Yeah,
- 48:08Speaker 1: how do you know? How do you not know your
- 48:09Speaker 1: apples if you show up to the Bachelorette as an apple?
- 48:13Speaker 1: I know? Wait, what's your favorite apple? Uh? The one
- 48:17Speaker 1: that's mixed between red and green? FIGI is good? Gala's
- 48:23Speaker 1: gala A is good. I like Honey, chrisp Honey Christmas definitely. Yeah. Yeah,
- 48:30Speaker 1: I think you're going to go in the fridge and
- 48:31Speaker 1: get one right after this. Anything but Granny Smith and
- 48:34Speaker 1: Macintosh in the spectrum Okay, okay, yeah, So anyway, what
- 48:40Speaker 1: she does is hilarious because she has some apples cut up.
- 48:45Speaker 1: She's feeding him apples with the blindfold on, and she
- 48:48Speaker 1: also like feeds him pizza and he has no idea
- 48:52Speaker 1: what's in his mouth. The guy like things that it's lasagna.
- 48:56Speaker 1: He thinks that like the green apples a red apple,
- 48:59Speaker 1: and the red apples a green apple, and like it's
- 49:01Speaker 1: just a hilarious moment. I just I was laughing out
- 49:04Speaker 1: loud on a plane and I loved it. Backstory, this
- 49:07Speaker 1: guy just had COVID two weeks ago. Can't taste anything
- 49:12Speaker 1: now that would make sense. Alright, Well, at the end
- 49:17Speaker 1: of the so we'll get to the rose ceremony because
- 49:20Speaker 1: the rest of it was canceled and she sends home
- 49:25Speaker 1: Daniel p j Alec And I mean, we didn't know
- 49:30Speaker 1: any of them so deep. Yeah, so okay, the guys
- 49:36Speaker 1: that we had in question, like the pizentrepreneurs. No, he's
- 49:42Speaker 1: stuck around because of course he did, because he's drama. Yeah, exactly.
- 49:46Speaker 1: So we all have the people that we are invested in,
- 49:50Speaker 1: either in a you know, good or bad way. They're
- 49:53Speaker 1: still here, so we'll have to wait and see. Yeah.
- 49:56Speaker 1: I feel like she did an amazing job the entire episode.
- 49:58Speaker 1: She's a great bapstorress. She's such a good bachelorette. The
- 50:03Speaker 1: ratings are kind of low right now, and I want
- 50:06Speaker 1: them not to be for her. I think she deserves
- 50:09Speaker 1: people to see how well she handles this role. Do
- 50:12Speaker 1: you feel like it's because she's gone second, because there
- 50:16Speaker 1: is Katie and then Michelle. Yeah. Do you think it's
- 50:19Speaker 1: just too much Bachelor? Yes? Yes, yes they do. And
- 50:24Speaker 1: I really wish that she would have had Katie spot.
- 50:27Speaker 1: I really do, but you know, what are we gonna do?
- 50:30Speaker 1: But I do think a lot of its Bachelor fatigue.
- 50:32Speaker 1: There's been a lot of seasons in a row. Yeah, okay,
- 50:36Speaker 1: I'll tell everyone to go watch okay, and then you
- 50:39Speaker 1: have to go watch more. Do you have any final
- 50:42Speaker 1: takeaways from this episode? Um? And what you hope to
- 50:46Speaker 1: see in the future for Michelle anybody that you think
- 50:49Speaker 1: like is a standout? Oh my gosh, don't don't do
- 50:52Speaker 1: that to me this this soon. Um, I won't pick
- 50:56Speaker 1: a front runner and just yeah, I will say that
- 50:59Speaker 1: she's doing any credible job. Um. This is the first
- 51:02Speaker 1: episode of Scene with Chris Harrison on hosting, and I
- 51:05Speaker 1: felt like they also did a great job. Tastia is awesome. UM,
- 51:10Speaker 1: so you know, I think it's it's worth the watch.
- 51:13Speaker 1: I will watch the next episode and then I will
- 51:15Speaker 1: give you my thoughts. I gotta watch the least two
- 51:19Speaker 1: to pick somebody into root for that right now, it's
- 51:22Speaker 1: a little bit of a mixed bag. Okay, all right,
- 51:25Speaker 1: Before we sign off, I gotta give you the Bachelor
- 51:28Speaker 1: bracket rule of the week. Ready for it? Here it
- 51:32Speaker 1: is Batch Bracket Rule of the week is plus ten
- 51:36Speaker 1: points if a contestant raises a glass and initiates a
- 51:40Speaker 1: toast or says cheers. All right well, Ari lined Ike,
