- 0:16What's going on everybody? We are back for another episode
- 0:19of Not Cool in High school. I'm going to be doing a movie
- 0:21review here in a moment and I'm going to I'm going to take up
- 0:24the screen right now, but then very soon I'll be adding in my
- 0:27Co host who's getting ready, doing their own content while we
- 0:30film this. So we're recording A2 album
- 0:34reviews that are going to be two separate episodes for you guys
- 0:36to check out. But the first one we're
- 0:38recording is Chapel Roan, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest
- 0:42Princess. I don't really know much about
- 0:46them. I just before the show started,
- 0:48I was kind of reading up and learning some things.
- 0:50I'm very impressed by a lot of it.
- 0:52So I'm going to kind of pull from Wikipedia a little bit.
- 0:55And I was listening to some interviews with them.
- 0:57So I will pull from Wikipedia, which I know is factual because
- 1:01we all know Wikipedia cannot be an amazing source all the time.
- 1:03But The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Quit Princess is
- 1:06released in September 22nd, 2023.
- 1:08It was recorded between 2018 and 2023.
- 1:11It's a pop dance, alternative pop and Electro album.
- 1:14It's 49 minutes and 8 seconds. The label is Amusement and
- 1:19Island label producers. I'm not going to go through all
- 1:23that because I don't even know that stuff.
- 1:25I'm not that in depth when it comes to music and movies.
- 1:27I'm not like a producer all that.
- 1:29Maybe one day I'll change, but who knows.
- 1:32Some of the singles from this album Naked in Manhattan My
- 1:35Kinkus, Karma, Pheromone, Casual Kaleidoscope, Red Red Wine,
- 1:40Supernova, and Hot to Go with the most recent addition I guess
- 1:44being the Pink Pony Club which is blowing up.
- 1:47But I don't think it was a single.
- 1:48I don't think it was released as a single.
- 1:49These are all released as singles.
- 1:52It has pretty decent reviews. 7 out of 985 out of 100, four or
- 1:58five stars here between all these different places.
- 2:00It's it's up for tons of awards that we'll get to at the end.
- 2:04So a little bit about the album itself, ish.
- 2:07It was released in 20 September 22, as we talked about by
- 2:10Amusement and Imprint records. But when she first started, she
- 2:14was actually assigned to Atlantic Records and if she was
- 2:1718 years old, got pulled from her house and moved to Los
- 2:20Angeles, start doing all of her stuff and it was like full
- 2:23cleaning project. But when when she started
- 2:25working with the new producer and, and doing singles like Pink
- 2:29Body Club and all that stuff, it changed its identity.
- 2:31And she was actually end up dropped from her label during
- 2:35the pandemic because it was one of those times where if you
- 2:38weren't making money at that point in time, you just they
- 2:40didn't keep you. And she had to move back home.
- 2:43She had to get a job back at like at her local drive in.
- 2:46So she went from like signed music label artists to kind of
- 2:51restarting over, which is kind of inspiring because now she's
- 2:54super young and has a pretty decent head on her shoulders and
- 2:56she's killing it. And I think she's she's going to
- 2:58kill it. She's going to do really well
- 3:00when it comes to that. Because I think once you kind of
- 3:02hit the bottom and then come back up, it's a different
- 3:04experience. But from Missouri.
- 3:07And so around that time to the, the album kind of inspired her
- 3:12when it came to her own journey of self discovery.
- 3:15It it it navigated love, heartbreak and in the embrace of
- 3:18her own sexuality, sexual identity.
- 3:20I'm sorry, things that would become central to the record.
- 3:23Ronan stated that the rise and fall of of a Midwest Princess
- 3:27allowed her to come up with the concept and and come come to
- 3:29acceptance of her queerness and that her stage name and personal
- 3:33personal is a character compared to like a Ziggy Stardust or a
- 3:36David Bowie. So will she remain Chapel Rone
- 3:40or was this character changed throughout the course of her
- 3:42career? Possibly because that's kind of
- 3:45what she was inspired when it comes to this.
- 3:47But yeah, like I said, oh, for tons of awards, which we'll get
- 3:49back into more at the end of this.
- 3:51So we're going to go through each song.
- 3:53I'm not going to play the music here, obviously, because I'm not
- 3:56allowed to, but we're going to listen to a song and then kind
- 3:59of cut back in and talk about what we thought of that song.
- 4:04I'm going to keep the recording going the entire time.
- 4:06The ending on this is going to be a nightmare because Lily's
- 4:10video is going to just go continuously and it's going to
- 4:13be more inspired by the her makeup look.
- 4:17So we're going to take her whole footage from this podcast and
- 4:19time lapse and give it to her for her content.
- 4:21So make sure you go follow her on Witchcraft by Lily.
- 4:23And that's pretty much it. We're going to I'm going to let
- 4:26turn my camera off here and restart and then bring Lily's
- 4:28camera in and we're going to talk about this album, why we
- 4:31picked it and all that great stuff.
- 4:33So give us one second and we'll be right back.
- 4:36We're back. Not cool in high school.
- 4:38Lily has now joined me on screen already.
- 4:42I my my my camera looks insanely blue.
- 4:44I don't know how I like. I don't, I don't.
- 4:46I don't if it already did. It I put the pink lights on.
- 4:49I know it just I don't know if this camera's just bugging out
- 4:52because of the color, but we're going to rock with it.
- 4:54We're going to rock with it. So the we're going to be doing
- 4:59Chapel Rd. the Horizon fall of a Midwest prices.
- 5:02We're going to be on a track by track.
- 5:03We're going to cut the music out so you guys don't hear that and
- 5:06I don't get flagged, but we can't really read a trailer on
- 5:09it. We, I, I listened some
- 5:11interviews by her. I have heard some songs.
- 5:14So you're my first what what? What's your first take or our
- 5:17first take on her as an artist without listening to her full
- 5:21album based on the stuff you've heard?
- 5:23OK, so here's what I'm going to say is I know that the song came
- 5:26out or this album rather came out a few years ago.
- 5:30Hot to go was huge and it to me was overplayed.
- 5:34I was like, Oh my gosh, I don't know who this Chapel Rd. is, but
- 5:37like it was catchy, but it was like it got I felt like it got
- 5:41overplayed to the point where I was like, I don't even want to
- 5:43listen to the rest of her album. And that was bad on me.
- 5:47Because now here we are two years later and I'm like, OK, I
- 5:51need to listen to this. And I actually, I'm very excited
- 5:54about it now, now knowing more about her.
- 5:57Yeah, I, I've heard how to to go, but mine kind of I'm going
- 6:00to go in with my first take of I, I think she's very talented.
- 6:03I think I probably have listened to Pink Pony Club more than I've
- 6:06ever listened to how to go, to be completely honest.
- 6:09And I I think it's fine. Like I know I said we talked
- 6:12about in the car where like Lily was like, oh, she's the next big
- 6:14thing. This is unbelievable.
- 6:16She's just right and I'm like, she's a young 1819 year old
- 6:20girl, maybe young or older now, I don't know.
- 6:22She's. Like 25 now.
- 6:23She's what? She's like 25. 20 in her 20s and
- 6:26I'm like it happens all the time.
- 6:28They bring in a new face, they get them ready and then they
- 6:31fucking discard them when they no longer are are use.
- 6:34It's it's hard to in today's in anything entertainment sports to
- 6:39have longevity because if you're not performing right then and
- 6:42there, you're gone. And and and that's and it's even
- 6:45worse now than ever because money is so crazy where if they
- 6:48don't make money immediately, they just they abandoned ship.
- 6:51I think she's very good. I think her voice is very good.
- 6:55From what I heard of Pink Pony Club and taught to go.
- 7:00I don't know. For me going in first hand, and
- 7:04I don't know if it's much of her voice that's compelling.
- 7:08I think she has a great voice, but I don't think she has a
- 7:10voice that like if you listen to, you're like, oh, that shout
- 7:12will roll. Like to me anyway.
- 7:14I don't think I've listened to enough of her that I can pick
- 7:16her voice out of a lineup. I think after after you listen
- 7:19to this, sure. Yeah, because I consume more.
- 7:21But also I I will say that I think what makes her allure
- 7:27better is her style is her art and her songwriting.
- 7:29I think her songwriting is probably her best attribute to
- 7:33her as a musician. And I think I, I said this, we
- 7:36were talking, you were saying we talked a little bit about her in
- 7:39the car because I was like, I'm, I'm really very quickly falling
- 7:42in love with her. I think she is the next Lady
- 7:44Gaga. I think that she's very much on
- 7:47that same level where she is talented in, in multiple
- 7:51different facets. And I think she's, whether she
- 7:55is as Chapel Roaner or something else in the future, I, I still
- 7:58think she's going to be a huge, she's going to be a household
- 8:01name. She is a household.
- 8:02Name absolutely unless I want that for her like I I'm never
- 8:04going to sit here and say I don't think an artist should
- 8:06deserves anything or I think people are are like everyone
- 8:09consumes art differently and just because an art isn't for
- 8:12you, it doesn't mean it's bad. It just means it's not stuff
- 8:15you're into and and and I think I'm going to challenge myself by
- 8:18listening to more out movies and and watch more things and take
- 8:21in new things and review things that are out of my comfort
- 8:23zones. I think that makes you a better
- 8:25rounded person as well. So when did you first hear about
- 8:29this and how? I'll start off, I first heard
- 8:32about this at drug shows. This is where I consume Chapel
- 8:35Row. We went to see a Miss Misprint
- 8:37show and hot to go play it. And then we went to another drag
- 8:40show and hot to go play it. And then we went to Pride and
- 8:43hot to go play. It was like that year's Pride
- 8:45anthem. It was it was, it was the dance.
- 8:48The, the, the, the, the, the, the, the.
- 8:51I thought it was like the gay. It was a gay or YMCA.
- 8:55TT Yeah, OGO like the G. The Village People made a gay
- 9:00anthem, but then don't claim their game.
- 9:02Like they don't claim it is a gay anthem.
- 9:05And then they went and toured the world with Donald Trump.
- 9:07Not trying to make this about that but like now there's like a
- 9:09new. There's a new.
- 9:11Better there's a gay or YMCA and it's hot to go and I don't think
- 9:14that's a I'm not saying that in a negative way.
- 9:16I think that's beautiful. I don't use gay.
- 9:18So here's the thing. I don't use gay anymore as a
- 9:20negative connotation. Like I think it describes
- 9:23something, but I don't think it is It's AI don't think it is a
- 9:25negative. I hope that I hope, I hope I
- 9:28have the power to say that, but you don't use it as a it's not
- 9:32as I'm not making it demeaning or lesser than when I say it's
- 9:35gayer. I think people who still use gay
- 9:38in a negative connotation will in a.
- 9:40Non ironic. Way I think they'll think I'm
- 9:42doing it that way, but I'm not. When I say something's gay, I
- 9:46mean, oh, that's, that's definitely queer culture.
- 9:48Wrestling is. Gay wrestling is so gay.
- 9:50Like ghost is gay. Ghost is super gay and I love
- 9:53it. It's, it's just, yeah, exactly
- 9:56like you said, it's the culture. Yeah, or even if it's.
- 9:59I don't know if Ghost would identify as gay, but I think
- 10:02they're definitely allies. No, absolutely.
- 10:05But I don't know, no. I'm not saying that Tobias Forge
- 10:08is gay. I'm saying that the concept of
- 10:11Ghost overall is very like, It's very theatrical.
- 10:14It's very dramatic. It's very.
- 10:16Devil. And he also the devil.
- 10:17See, Jesus may not like the gays, but the devil loves you.
- 10:20Come home. Yeah, but yeah.
- 10:24So that's where I kind of heard about it.
- 10:25What about you? I'm sorry about what?
- 10:28How do you first learn about chaparral OR?
- 10:30Oh I'll be honest, I think the first time I heard chaparral was
- 10:33probably TikTok. Like what?
- 10:36Huge on TikTok. It's a good.
- 10:37That's a good and. That's probably why I thought it
- 10:40was so overplayed was because it was just like you couldn't go
- 10:43more than like to skipping through 22 videos that it would
- 10:47be another Chapel. Road.
- 10:48Yeah, like. Themed thing.
- 10:50Yeah, we're going to get into it.
- 10:51The first song on this album is called Pheromone.
- 10:53I hope I'm going to say that, right?
- 10:55No, it's Farrah Minionum. I'm probably saying that, right?
- 11:00I don't. You're not helping me out here.
- 11:02We're not prepared with your phone.
- 11:03Phenomenal, isn't it? No.
- 11:06Is it like it looks like femme? It might be phenomenon I'm an
- 11:10idiot. It might be that I'm dumb.
- 11:13Sometimes dyslexia kicks in and I have a hard time pronouncing.
- 11:16Sometimes. Hold on, I'm being open and
- 11:17honest. I struggle with that.
- 11:19I struggle with speech sometimes as a podcaster and the color on
- 11:22this camera is driving me fucking crazy.
- 11:25It keeps going from purple to I'm just.
- 11:28Going to it's feminominon. All right, Feminominon.
- 11:31OK, I probably didn't say that right again.
- 11:33All right. You did.
- 11:34You got it that time all. Right, so we're going to go to
- 11:36the first song. This one has 253,000 plays on
- 11:42Spotify. It is 3.
- 11:43It's 3 minutes and 39 seconds. So yeah, we'll be right back.
- 11:49I'm going to and and talk about this song once we're done.
- 11:54All right, we're back. Feminominon, we're back.
- 11:59What do you think? I love it.
- 12:01I'm over here like have. You heard that song before?
- 12:03Yes. Well, so this Full disclosure,
- 12:05I've listened to this whole album.
- 12:06I downloaded it maybe about a month ago and I've been
- 12:09listening to it under repeat. So I'm excited that.
- 12:12We're So what do you get out of this song?
- 12:14I, I think it's very much like get ready because we're coming.
- 12:19Like I think it's the, I'm not going to say like you're, you're
- 12:23trying to silence us, but like for being the opening song of
- 12:26the album, it's like that you, you know fully what to expect
- 12:29from the album. OK, so I, I get a few different
- 12:34notes on this and I my perception of what I feel is
- 12:37probably not right and but it is what how I feel and that's what
- 12:40we're here for, right? I'm ABJ, you fucking love me.
- 12:43You're here for my takes. So my take is I get Barbie movie
- 12:47with this song, like I feel like for real, realistically, I feel
- 12:51like there's been a more of a woman, a new woman, hear me roar
- 12:56fucking we can do it movement that I think really started and
- 13:00I know this this album was made kind of in that time frame, But
- 13:03for me, when it really caught on was like the Barbie movie where
- 13:07I feel like women really like stood up and and I actually let
- 13:11me take it back. I think women really started
- 13:13saying go fuck yourself with the overturning of Roe V Wade and I
- 13:17and I that. So let me start with that.
- 13:19That's where the fucking movement we're like, you know,
- 13:21we're we're in a situation where we could be silenced here.
- 13:24And and it wasn't just women, it was the culture, it was gay
- 13:27culture, it was LGBTQ. It was this this administration
- 13:31really said like no, you're going to be silenced.
- 13:33And and, and women and people of the culture and and allies are
- 13:36like all said no, no. And I feel like this movement,
- 13:40this feminominon is like this the Barbie, like I get Barbie
- 13:44movie notes, but I also this song that opened up where was
- 13:47like, oh, she's a she's a Taylor Swift.
- 13:48She's going to be very poppy. And listen, I've been I've been
- 13:52proven wrong with Taylor Swift too.
- 13:53I thought Taylor Swift was made for little girls and made for
- 13:56kids. And Taylor is not about that
- 13:57too. She'll talk about sex and
- 13:59everything like that and and adult content.
- 14:01And I think chaperone kind of hits you in the beginning with
- 14:04that really, really soft. We were first young and like
- 14:10that very Taylor Swift ish, like innocent vibe.
- 14:14And then she's like play a fucking beat.
- 14:16And then she start talking about getting guy, making it hot and
- 14:19all these other stuff. And it's like, I think it really
- 14:21sets a tone of like, I'm not I may be young.
- 14:24I may be. I think she's talking about a
- 14:28girl she's been about being with a girl like.
- 14:32Well, she said multiple times in the song he and news.
- 14:34Yeah, but she's talking about like the differences, I feel
- 14:37like between going with a guy and then going with a girl.
- 14:41Yeah, yeah. But I don't know.
- 14:44I just think she really opens up and she's letting you know that
- 14:46she's younger, but she's not. It's not a it's not a bubble
- 14:49gum. Just because she's young doesn't
- 14:51mean she's innocent. Yeah, and she's not, she's not
- 14:53catering to a younger demographic or younger crowd,
- 14:57you know what I mean? I think she is.
- 14:58She's singing and I think she's ahead of her time when it comes
- 15:01to where she is mentally, of who she is as a person and finding
- 15:03herself. That's where I'm at.
- 15:05I gave it a 3.5. I think it's a really good song,
- 15:08I thought. We were going to do like a
- 15:09overall album. Or do track by track and then we
- 15:11can see how it makes us feel. We can come back to you.
- 15:16Come back. All right, all right.
- 15:18Next song on the list. And I, I was reading the lyrics
- 15:20there too. Like I follow along with the
- 15:21lyrics. Yeah, like so so baby, let's get
- 15:27freaky, get kinky. Let the bed, let's get the bed,
- 15:30get squeaky, baby, come on over. Why don't you come on over Red
- 15:33wine Supernova and fall Falling into Me, which is another song
- 15:36later, right? Red.
- 15:37Wine supernova is the next. Song, really, because she ends
- 15:42with those two lyrics. Red wine Supernova fall right
- 15:44into me. No, the next song is after
- 15:48midnight. Sorry, sorry.
- 15:50Let me go back. Make sure we're not skipping it
- 15:53is red wine supernova. All right, here we go.
- 15:56Next song, Red wine supernova. So that's interesting.
- 15:58The lyrics for the fun song lead into the next.
- 16:01I like that. That's clever.
- 16:03Here we go, red wine. Grateful Dead, I said.
- 16:06How very Grateful Dead. I'm not a huge Grateful Dead
- 16:08fan. I didn't know they did that
- 16:09either. Anyway, Red Wine Supernova
- 16:13441,000,000 plays. Yeah, and over, over.
- 16:20It's just crazy numbers and this is insane. 3 minutes 12 seconds.
- 16:23Let's get into it. Red wine supernova.
- 16:26All right, we're back after that song.
- 16:28So I I was wrong the last. Song pulled the Grateful Dead
- 16:31now. No, the last song did not end
- 16:33with those lyrics. Correct.
- 16:35I said how Grateful Dead of you because and I'm laughing because
- 16:38of the lyrics of the song. I don't care that you're a
- 16:40Stoner because I feel like you just got too stoned and started
- 16:43really reading the lyrics from the next.
- 16:45Song. Yeah, the next song already
- 16:46started and I was looking through and stuff and yeah, so I
- 16:50I made that mistake, I mean. I, I just, it was funny.
- 16:53So what do you think of Red Wine Supernova?
- 16:55What do you get from it? I so OK, so first of all, I
- 17:00think this is where I kind of pull that Lady Gaga where I say
- 17:04she she gives that Lady Gaga for me for the song You and I, where
- 17:09it's kind of like starts out as kind of an almost country song
- 17:13and then goes into more of like a pop ballad.
- 17:15OK but I I love this song. I I I I I If if there's any
- 17:21question if the first song was about a guy, the second one's
- 17:24totally not. 1000% about a. Girl, yeah, this one's
- 17:27definitely about a girl. So I think this is definitely
- 17:29she's showing maybe her, her sexuality is changing and she's
- 17:32thinking about other things or having experiences where she's
- 17:35definitely, definitely finding her queerness, which is, which
- 17:39is interesting. I like in the hook when it like
- 17:43the beat is there, but then they replace the beat with an
- 17:45acoustic guitar. You kind of hear it faintly in
- 17:47the background, like the damn it, like the strumming.
- 17:50I thought that was really cool. Yeah, it's, it's a banger.
- 17:54I I'll give this one. It's also a 3.5.
- 17:56I guess I protect that 4 fours for me are 5.
- 17:59So if I hear me saying 3.5, that's not that's like that's,
- 18:02that's a really, really good score on my five scale.
- 18:06But I like it. I think it's a bop.
- 18:07I, I, it's definitely a song that I can see drag Queens
- 18:10performing and dancing too, and not just leaning into the hit
- 18:13songs like I think this is this I.
- 18:14Think this entire album. Can be performed, yes.
- 18:17OK, I I, I so far, I would say Red Wine Supernovas I like more
- 18:22than a feminomenon, but I but I think they're both good songs,
- 18:25but they still are the same score.
- 18:28Anything else you want to add to this one?
- 18:31Nope. All right, well, let's get to
- 18:32the next one, which is going to be after midnight, all right?
- 18:37This is after midnight for me. This I get like, she's out party
- 18:43and she's exploring. She's fighting herself.
- 18:45She's becoming now like socially active is where I'm getting with
- 18:48this one. And when she's out there, she's
- 18:50really finding out. She maybe is bisexual,
- 18:53pansexual, whatever, whatever that may lie into.
- 18:57Yeah, she's just partying. She's being young, She's living
- 19:00free. She's finding herself finding
- 19:03who she is maybe, but I know she kind of talked about maybe I
- 19:06have a little bit of a more insight on this because she
- 19:08talked about this song on an interview we listened to where
- 19:11after midnight, nothing good happens after midnight.
- 19:13But for her, it was like some of her best times.
- 19:15And I know the people, some people might think, well, that's
- 19:18debauchery and the craziness, but that's part of living and
- 19:21growing up and experiencing the world and experiencing life.
- 19:24And I don't know, I think it was a cool.
- 19:26I think it was a cool song. I'm also trying to like, I'm
- 19:29taking notes as I do this and I don't know how to erase on my on
- 19:33my when I'm drawing on my notepad.
- 19:35So that that's fun. So yeah, after midnight.
- 19:40What do you think? I think it gives very it's
- 19:47almost like I don't want to, I don't want to compare her to
- 19:50other people, but it's a very disco E song.
- 19:52I got disco as well. And almost like I feel like Dua
- 19:56Lipa is in the same vein. It's a very Dua Lipa E song.
- 20:01It's. It's got that it's got that
- 20:04rhythm that wants to like it's very catchy, but I it's also
- 20:07very easy to just kind of find yourself dancing to it.
- 20:11And I think that the other thing I really like about the song,
- 20:16like you were saying, like she's exploring, but she's I think
- 20:19she's kind of like not even just exploring, but she's saying
- 20:22like, oh, again, not, I guess not putting words.
- 20:26But how I take it is like, Oh, you think I'm I want to be with
- 20:30a guy. Well, let me switch that up on
- 20:32you. I'll go be with a girl now.
- 20:34Oh, you think I'm going to be with a girl?
- 20:35Well, let me switch up on that too.
- 20:36And I'll go be with a guy now. Like it's I'm going to do me.
- 20:40Whether you're thinking about me in this way or whatever way
- 20:43you're thinking about me, it doesn't really matter.
- 20:45I'm going to do me. I will say this, if someone came
- 20:47up to me at a bar and said, Hey, can I kiss your girlfriend?
- 20:52If you don't mind or came up to you and say, can I kiss your
- 20:55boyfriend? That would be my new favorite
- 20:57purse. I was like, what?
- 20:59All right, let's party. No, I thought it was fun.
- 21:02It I definitely get that club vibe and I don't go to a lot of
- 21:05clubs, but that's just I don't know where I'm at.
- 21:08It's a cool, it's a fun, it's a little fun little banger.
- 21:10I'm into it. I'm also the 3.5 of this.
- 21:14I didn't hate this song. If it came on, I wouldn't, I
- 21:16wouldn't mind it. So far we're three songs in and
- 21:19I wouldn't mind if if this album played like this all the way
- 21:23through, like there's not a song like I think it's a low moment.
- 21:25I will say this, I, I, I get a little dual leap of what you're
- 21:28saying there. I still get a lot of Taylor
- 21:30Swift when I hear her right now. As of now.
- 21:34Do you mean in her voice? Her voice and style, because I
- 21:37think she's very folk poppy. I don't.
- 21:40I don't. No.
- 21:45I'm not saying it's a bad thing, I'm just saying I think that
- 21:48they are. I think it's still very
- 21:51different. I could see how I can see where
- 21:53you're coming from. But at the same time, I think
- 21:55that when you listen to the lyrics and stuff, like I think
- 21:58that Taylor Swift does talk a lot about a heartbreak, but a
- 22:02lot about how to be independent. Whereas I think Chapel Roan is
- 22:05very like, I'm not going to talk about all the sadness.
- 22:09I'm just here to be like, this is who I am.
- 22:12But yeah, I think I think she's ahead of the curve when it comes
- 22:14to putting herself out there to the public quicker than Taylor
- 22:17Swift has been. Yeah, but I I definitely think
- 22:20their style and their voice style and structure is similar
- 22:22to me. OK Yeah.
- 22:25All right, next song. Coffee.
- 22:28All right, coffee. Just plain I'm.
- 22:31Always like this close to being done with whatever color I'm on.
- 22:34Let me start again. Yeah, this is definitely not a
- 22:41tailor vibe. You know how I get this one?
- 22:43Billie Eilish. No Adele.
- 22:45Oh, I get Billie Eilish. Yeah.
- 22:48But I mean I I still love Adele too.
- 22:52So this this is your first maybe breakup.
- 22:54Maybe the guy in the first song is her, is her love interest,
- 22:58her guy, her normalcy to the human world where it's a guy
- 23:02versus girl. Comfortability.
- 23:04Well, I'm going to say societal norm 2 words like oh you're a
- 23:07girl, you should be with a guy. The whole 9 where it just feels
- 23:09like everything, but maybe she has a little bit of a sexual
- 23:11side when she's with him. But then the second song, she
- 23:14kind of goes to the club, finds her own sexuality, tries girls,
- 23:17tries guys and maybe has a different experience with women
- 23:20that maybe guys don't. And then this guy just seeing
- 23:23like maybe a lot of their relationship was more sexual
- 23:26charge instead of like more mentally connected.
- 23:29They were more physically connected where every time they
- 23:31go to hang out, it's it kind of always leads to sex instead of
- 23:36conversation or feeling like she's wanted or accepted.
- 23:39And that's kind of what I get out of this song.
- 23:41But also like I think guys are, and I'm not defending dudes
- 23:44here, but I'm maybe giving perspective from the dude.
- 23:47But like if a dude is maybe a very sexual person or a very,
- 23:51we're, we're like Cavemen. Like we, we want steak, beer and
- 23:54sex. Like it's not, we're not hard
- 23:56creatures to figure out. Like, you know what I mean?
- 23:59Like I, I think at the core, we're very dumb and simplistic
- 24:02where women are not. And I think especially if, if
- 24:07you cater to what a guy normally likes and then they don't know
- 24:11how to rewire that and they think that you enjoy that and
- 24:14they don't know how to express themselves.
- 24:16Because also we're dumb simplistic creatures, but also
- 24:18we don't, we're not in touch with our emotions as we should
- 24:21be and we're not in touch with how it makes other people feel.
- 24:24So I think there is guys who are monsters and I think there's
- 24:27guys who just aren't, they don't have themselves figured out and
- 24:30they, they project that onto a lot of females where that, you
- 24:33know what I mean? Like, I don't think, I don't
- 24:35think we overthink it as much. And, and, but I definitely from
- 24:39a, from a female perspective, I think coffee sums up that thing
- 24:43of like, hey, sometimes maybe chill out with the physical
- 24:45contact, chill out with the, it doesn't have to be sex all the
- 24:48time. Like learn about her, feel about
- 24:50her, understand where she's at, be more there for her.
- 24:53And I think coffee is a great way of conveying that.
- 24:56I don't disagree with that. I'm not I first of all, I love
- 25:00that everything pretty much that you just said because that that
- 25:03is very much you know, I've already been in that situation.
- 25:06So like that is very much like, you know, the situation I was in
- 25:11rather. So the that situation was the
- 25:14first person who came to my mind when listening to this song.
- 25:18So I do think that it's very much that feeling of like, why
- 25:22can't I just be more than having sex with like, like why can't?
- 25:26Well, can I, can I kind of not put you out there, but maybe I'm
- 25:30just saying I, I think you've had a lot of coffee experiences.
- 25:33Well. I think that I think that not
- 25:36even just I don't I don't I disagree with that.
- 25:38I don't think I've had a lot of coffee experiences.
- 25:40I think that I've had a few, but I think that I I get a lot of
- 25:47friendship, coffee, things where it's like I don't even man, I'm
- 25:55trying not to get emotional. Just like from when we first
- 25:58started dating, you had a lot of guys who were still hitting you
- 26:00up and talking to you and that's.
- 26:01Because I got this BPD, you know?
- 26:03What you're saying, you're saying BPD, but these guys maybe
- 26:09at that point in time really enjoyed this physical
- 26:13connection, maybe looked at you differently because of the
- 26:16industries you were in, the things you were a part of.
- 26:18But I. Think that you're so far wrong
- 26:19too, that the person that this, this that, that the situation
- 26:24that you know about. I was never in a sexual industry
- 26:27when that happened like that. My point is that when I'm not
- 26:32even talking about my situation anymore, going back to the song,
- 26:35I feel that everyone has had that feeling of of.
- 26:39It's not even just, hey, you can't meet me at this level.
- 26:43It's I had so much more feeling for you and I expected more.
- 26:47And I know that if I put myself out there again, I'm just going
- 26:50to get hurt by you again. And I can't trust you.
- 26:52I think she says that in there. Maybe if I trusted you, but
- 26:55like, I can't trust you with that part of me again because
- 26:58I've, I've given that to you and you've burned me so many times.
- 27:01Yeah, yeah, totally, totally. And I think this is a, a thing
- 27:04that I once again, if a guy is understanding and touching
- 27:08himself, understands other people, has feelings and
- 27:10emotions and not always block out their own because that's
- 27:13fellas, that's a toxic trait we have that I think more guys
- 27:17would be receptive to this conversation.
- 27:19But I think a lot of a lot of dudes out there, I know.
- 27:22And I don't think it's going to get any better with the climate
- 27:24we're in right now, unfortunately.
- 27:26But I think I think it is healthy to learn about yourself
- 27:29and learn about just not you or how you can how you conduct
- 27:32yourself to other people around you, but also being
- 27:34understanding of your women. And I think more women should be
- 27:37heard and understood. And I.
- 27:39Feel like you feel. I feel like you're not sure this
- 27:42is such a straight thing. And I don't mean that in a bad
- 27:44way, but I mean it. Is.
- 27:45I mean, I'm coming from a straight perspective.
- 27:47Absolutely. But like.
- 27:49Real quick, but I think that. Everybody should learn about
- 27:52their partners, not just. Not just when I'm just coming
- 27:55from listen, this song is very girl power.
- 27:57This song is very It is, but it's.
- 27:58Also very not. It's very much we're not
- 28:00talking. I just get a thought out real
- 28:02quick. I'm sorry, I'm just saying this
- 28:03song and this album represents sexuality.
- 28:06This album represents bisexuality, community,
- 28:09womenhood. And a straight dude 9 times of
- 28:1210 is not going to listen to this album because it's not
- 28:14their cup of tea. It's not what they want to hear.
- 28:17But I'm saying as a straight dude who's open minded, who
- 28:19wants to learn about things, who have put himself in situations
- 28:22to learning about the community and, and lists, actually
- 28:24listening to women and and hearing what they go through.
- 28:27And I'm just, I'm trying to get the perspective from the other
- 28:30side of the coin. That's all I'm doing.
- 28:34Go ahead, finish what you're saying now.
- 28:36I don't think anywhere in here did she say he.
- 28:40Yes, 100. Percent and all I'm saying is
- 28:42that like, I think the point here is that like anybody can
- 28:45hurt you. And that's what I'm saying like
- 28:47even in a in a friendship way of like, well, I'm not saying that
- 28:50it's not sexually charged or anything like that, but in the
- 28:55in the vein of I I'll meet you here, I'll do these things with
- 29:00you because I know that this is where I feel safe with you.
- 29:03And like I feel that same way with friendships.
- 29:05Like hey, I'll go hang out with you in a public setting, but I
- 29:09don't want to hang out with you at your house like I.
- 29:12And I sound corrected you. She did not say he in that song.
- 29:15My brain just went to he. And that's that's why I was like
- 29:18your turn and I didn't mean this.
- 29:19And that's why I was saying I don't mean it in a nasty way,
- 29:21just that I, like I said, the first time I heard that song, I
- 29:25did initially think of the person that hurt me in that same
- 29:28way in a sexual innate. It was a man who made me feel
- 29:31like it was all about sex. And and like I said, not saying
- 29:34that this isn't sexually charged because it definitely is.
- 29:37But listening to me, the more that I listen to it, the more I
- 29:41connect it with other relationships as well, not just
- 29:45that's fair a sexual relationship.
- 29:46Four out of five. I have my first four.
- 29:49This one honestly brought me to tears the first time I heard it.
- 29:51I would give this one a full 5. Yeah, good song.
- 29:53All right, next one up is going to be casual.
- 29:56All right, casual, casual. I'm sorry maybe my straight
- 30:02friend, but this once again feels like.
- 30:04AI think this ties into the last one.
- 30:05Though Yeah dude I I see this as a as a straight relationship
- 30:10with guy girl. No, no, no.
- 30:13I see this as like almost like a in the closet, like let's just
- 30:18keep this on the down low. But I still want everything that
- 30:21like comes in a relationship, but I don't want everybody to
- 30:23know about it. And I was, I was trying to put
- 30:25myself there too of maybe this girl brings her around, brings
- 30:32her in almost like a girlfriend, but is not willing to tell her
- 30:34family that she is with this girl.
- 30:36Here's a straight dude question right here because of the lyric
- 30:40that says I fucked you in the bathroom where you went when we
- 30:42went to dinner. Yes, I would still say I fucked
- 30:44a girl even if I didn't have a penis or a strap on.
- 30:47So that's where my straight brain kicks in.
- 30:49If I went in, I. Knew that that's exactly what
- 30:51you're going to ask. I would so I would still say
- 30:54like. If I went into the bathroom, we
- 30:55went to the bathroom and we just did.
- 30:57Like for a guy fucking a girl is using your Dick right?
- 31:02But in other relationships, even gay ones, not every dude, I
- 31:06don't think every gay dude considers.
- 31:08I have had. I have.
- 31:09Had penetration to a orphan, so. So if I've if I've been naked
- 31:14with a girl and she didn't have a strap on and we've been doing
- 31:19stuff and both of us come to climax.
- 31:22He fucked. But I didn't use a dildo or I
- 31:24didn't use that. That's what I mean like.
- 31:27My straight brain. That's how I say it.
- 31:28Like, yeah, like me and her hooked up, we fucked like, yeah,
- 31:30whatever. Even if I'm whether I'm, you
- 31:32know, penetrating her. Yeah, penetration, we're talking
- 31:36about that on the podcast Yeah, I like I like this song.
- 31:41I once again, I think there's a lot of communication.
- 31:43Maybe, maybe there is the element of the dude where he
- 31:46doesn't know if he wants that commitment and she or kind of
- 31:49wants the commitment and, and that's the whole thing there.
- 31:51Or on the other side, we talked about how it can be with, you
- 31:54know, maybe the girl is not open to being gay in front of her
- 31:57family and. What if I, what if I flip this
- 32:00around on you like the way that I read this or originally
- 32:04listening to it? Because I did, like I said, I
- 32:07didn't really listen to her straight out the gate.
- 32:09I kind of got to know more about her.
- 32:11And then I was like, OK, I'm going to give this a second
- 32:12shot. I feel like she wrote this not
- 32:16saying that she did, but I almost put myself in the
- 32:19perspective of like, what if she was with the girl and this was
- 32:22the girl writing this, this note to her as like, you need to come
- 32:26out now. And so like, you need to just,
- 32:29you know, I'm sitting here introducing you to my family and
- 32:32everything, but we're just keeping it casual.
- 32:34And like, I think that her writing this song was kind of
- 32:37like getting it out, you know what I mean?
- 32:39What? What are we ranking?
- 32:39Casual? I would give this song.
- 32:43I give this one like a four, like I'm I'm listen this overall
- 32:47album. I know we're going to do this
- 32:48later, but if I could, I would give every.
- 32:50I give everyone of these A5. Yeah, I think this song is a
- 32:53four. I'm going to go.
- 32:53This is going to break the four for me as well.
- 32:55I I think she is a brilliant songwriter.
- 32:58I think when earlier I was reading that she was getting
- 33:00into like folk music. You can tell that because like a
- 33:03lot of folk, people write some deep ass shit.
- 33:06She's Midwest. You know she's from Missouri,
- 33:08right? Yeah.
- 33:10Very good songwriter. She kind of has that like, yeah,
- 33:12the the tones of like the the Midwest.
- 33:14And there's there's lyrics in her songs too that are very
- 33:17explicit and she's unapologetic for it.
- 33:19But she doesn't make it a big deal when she's saying it in the
- 33:22song. So it doesn't come off as a big
- 33:24deal, but like it's not leading me out.
- 33:25It's not like when somebody says like, fuck right and they're
- 33:28like fuck like they got to put the emphasis on it.
- 33:31She just kind of is a casual. Yeah, it's very, it's very.
- 33:36It's just second nature. It's not like, let me put the
- 33:38emphasis on it. This is just me talking.
- 33:41All right, well, we're we're we just hit 5 songs in.
- 33:43We're at song 6, which I is close to the halfway point of
- 33:46this album. There's 14 songs total.
- 33:48So let's get into the next one when it's super graphic, ultra
- 33:51modern girl, so super graphic. I'm excited to hear what the
- 33:55fucking lyrics of this one's going to be.
- 33:58Also on this album, by the way, the last coffee only 61 million
- 34:05plays, which I know is like, oh, only right.
- 34:08But like compared to red wine supernova and then after
- 34:10midnight has 136 million coffee to only have 61, I think is a
- 34:15criminal. I think more people should
- 34:16listen to that song. I know maybe some people don't
- 34:20because I think it's maybe some people should hear it.
- 34:22And that's that's usually where it comes into your art where
- 34:24like the good stuff with substances and I was going to be
- 34:27consumed. But casuals that back up to the
- 34:28big numbers with 360, 366 million super graphic ultra
- 34:34modern girl, it's going to be at 150 million plays, which is
- 34:37still fucking amazing. Every song has over 1,000,000
- 34:39plays. That's bonkers good for her.
- 34:41All right here we go super graphic ultra modern girl.
- 34:46All right, super graphic ultra modern girl.
- 34:50I feel attacked. I feel attacked in the song as a
- 34:52straight white dude, because when I get out of this song, and
- 34:54I don't mean that as I'm actually offended, but what I
- 34:56get out of this song is we're normal Society of man woman
- 35:03relationship and he has to be conservative and so do you.
- 35:06Well, we have to be more status quo.
- 35:08And she's young and she doesn't want to be that and she's
- 35:12spinning herself and discovering herself and discovering who she
- 35:15is. And she wants to go to the gay
- 35:17club and fucking pop some drugs and get fucked up and just let
- 35:20her inhibitions go and go on the dance floor and just be in a in
- 35:24a HIB in in inhibitedly herself where this guy was kind of just
- 35:30like dressed like me, just in jeans and AT shirt and doesn't
- 35:32want to dance on the floor because dancing is not for me.
- 35:35And maybe I'm holding her back on her experience.
- 35:39Our that guy is holding her back in that experience.
- 35:41I've been that guy. That's how I that's what the
- 35:45song gets to me. And I just see her on the dance
- 35:47floor having a good time and just being she doesn't have to
- 35:51check in with somebody. She doesn't have to make herself
- 35:53feel like she's making other people uncomfortable by being
- 35:56herself. And she's out there having a
- 35:58fucking blast. And this this the song where I
- 36:00said, here's all that. Here's the Gaga where I feel
- 36:02like the Lady Gaga like we're she's becoming empowered.
- 36:05I feel like, I feel like this is a this for me.
- 36:08This is where shaple just like switched.
- 36:11She broke out of she's out of Hurricane Coon and she's she's
- 36:15finding herself and and this is a dope ass song and I think the
- 36:19bass and the club banger and all that stuff is really, really
- 36:21good. I'm not a four for the four for
- 36:24this as well. Yeah, I would give this one a 5.
- 36:26It's a 5. Anything you feel about it?
- 36:30I love this song. I feel like it is very, like you
- 36:33said, just kind of very empowered, like very like, I'm
- 36:36me. I don't care if you want to sit
- 36:37in the corner, sit in the corner, but I'm going to be over
- 36:40here doing my thing. The lyric is we're going to
- 36:42leave Earth and you can't come. I took that as their ball
- 36:45popping something. And if and if you don't want to
- 36:47be a part of that, fine. But we're leaving and see you
- 36:49later. Yeah, yeah.
- 36:50Absolutely. Like if you don't want to, if
- 36:52you don't want to be here, good 'cause we don't want you here,
- 36:54Don't bring our mood down. Yeah, maybe it's not technically
- 36:56taking something, but maybe. Just like we're.
- 36:59We're opening themselves up by being on the dance floor and
- 37:01we're. Not even just that, just like
- 37:03just like saying like I'm enjoying myself and if you want
- 37:06to sit there and be a negativity, be a negativity, but
- 37:09do it away from me because like I'm I'm here to.
- 37:11Have fun and that's that vibe too, like when you go to the
- 37:14club and you go to the bar. I I try to let you do that.
- 37:17Like if you want to go on the dance floor and have a good
- 37:18time, like I don't, it's not my thing, but please go do that.
- 37:21I want to. I want I'd love to see you in
- 37:22that in that light, but we're for me when it comes to my
- 37:25content and wrestling shows or I go to the bar or I'm hanging out
- 37:28my friends or I'm at a dot Like for me, I just like to bounce
- 37:31from person to person to person, and it's always hard to maybe
- 37:34bring someone with you or your partner to all bounce around
- 37:37with you. So in in those situations where
- 37:40for sometimes I offended past relationships, our girls, our
- 37:44people, or even just friends I bring out when I'm in public, I
- 37:47am AI just like to and I just don't want to feel everyone's
- 37:50energy. I want to talk to everybody.
- 37:51I want to say hi to everybody. I usually I have multiple people
- 37:54that I care about one location and they may not all be in the
- 37:57same group of friends. Or maybe they're, I'm not saying
- 37:59they're not all friends, but they like everyone kind of goes
- 38:01to their own corner. And I like to bounce between the
- 38:03corners of people because I like everyone there and it's hard to
- 38:06always have someone tag along. So I think the best way is like,
- 38:10that's my version of being on the dance floor and being myself
- 38:13and like not tagging somebody along, if that makes sense.
- 38:16Yeah, but you're trying to do that as a loner, though.
- 38:18I don't think that's the same thing.
- 38:20What do you mean? Well, I'm not saying that you're
- 38:21trying to do that as a loner. Like this is saying, like all of
- 38:23my friends and me, we're going to go do like we're we're
- 38:26leaving Earth and you can't come is like because you want to be
- 38:29by your like you're saying I go and I'd rather do it by myself
- 38:33than bring people. Well, no, because I always I
- 38:35know it makes people feel weird too.
- 38:36Like for me, if I'm hanging out with somebody, if I go hang out
- 38:38with you and a group of your friends and, and you guys have
- 38:4110 years of friendship experience and you guys like to
- 38:44reminisce and talk about that. And you're, I'm kind of sitting
- 38:46there like, oh, I have no idea. You guys are talking about,
- 38:48that's cool, you know what I mean?
- 38:49But I'm also a conversationalist who will learn more about the
- 38:51situation where some people are afraid to interject in the
- 38:54conversation and then they feel left out of everything.
- 38:56And so I kind of just like, well, instead of you being left
- 38:59out, I'm going to go do my thing and you go make your own friends
- 39:01and we'll kind of meet in the middle.
- 39:02You know what I mean? That's just how I feel.
- 39:04I don't know if that's the right way.
- 39:05I. Just say that's like the
- 39:06opposite of what the socks. I'm just saying for me, this is
- 39:10what I get out of it. I'm not saying I'm right or
- 39:11wrong. Saying that you're wrong, I'm
- 39:13just. There it goes.
- 39:18All right. Anything else with this one?
- 39:20Nope. All right, let's go to our next
- 39:22one. It's going to be.
- 39:25I don't know if we ever heard of this one.
- 39:26This one has six, 626 million plays.
- 39:30It's called Hot to Go. I don't know if you ever heard
- 39:33of it. It might be a popular one.
- 39:37Hot to go. All right, when you listen to
- 39:41music, do you visually like a music video in your head of like
- 39:44them performing it? So here, yes, and let me tell
- 39:47you why. Because I haven't watched a
- 39:49music video. I haven't watched MTV or VH1
- 39:51since I was in high school. I don't even know what music
- 39:53videos look like anymore but I always just imagine people
- 39:56dancing things out. Yeah, you know where I
- 39:58immediately went in my head to this, where I feel like this is
- 40:00the modern day version of a song.
- 40:02And the Macarena. No no, it has a creepy vibe to
- 40:07it. Bum bum bum bum bum bum bum.
- 40:10It sounds like old horror but like funky horror that that
- 40:14like. Kind of like.
- 40:16A like a you know where I get a visual this and like and I just
- 40:22think I think shuffle with the bright red hair and the white
- 40:24face. Rocky Horror Picture show.
- 40:27This is like the Time Warp where it's upbeat, fun, kind of sexy,
- 40:32but like I could just see a room full of misfit drag Queens and
- 40:37weird dress and like fashion and like people just being them.
- 40:42And Chapel Row is like Doctor Frankenfurt do it like kind of
- 40:46conducting the people dancing. I don't know.
- 40:47But it hasn't that that bass line kind of gives me like a old
- 40:50horror vibe. That's just me.
- 40:53I'm probably the only one who thinks that.
- 40:54But like I feel if you take this music and put it over top of
- 40:57Rocky Horror Picture Show. Horror though, like, I mean,
- 40:59yes, I guess I don't. Yeah, yeah, I don't know.
- 41:03I, I, it makes me think of the song differently.
- 41:05Hot to go, I'm going to give that a 3.5.
- 41:08I think it's a good song. I understand why it's as popular
- 41:11as it is, but those those songs are fun, but they're they're not
- 41:14as they don't speak to me as much as like Ultra, Ultra Hot
- 41:18Modern girl and coffee and Casual where it's like there's
- 41:22some feeling there, you know what I mean?
- 41:24Where you at with Hot to Go? What do you think of it?
- 41:26I. Like I said, I think this was
- 41:30the one that was like overplayed for me.
- 41:31Yeah. And I would agree that it's more
- 41:33of like a simpler 1 and as far as like depth of feelings go.
- 41:38Yeah, it's still a fun song. Yeah, it's fun.
- 41:40Still very catchy. My kink.
- 41:42I dance to a lot more now than I than I did when it first came
- 41:45out, yeah. My Kink is My Karma is our next
- 41:48song track #8 we are, we're, we're kind of flying through it
- 41:52here, this one here. 232 million plays.
- 41:56No, no features on this album either.
- 41:59Not one collaboration, not one feature.
- 42:01So maybe I'll take a quick break here and, and, and open up a
- 42:04little dialogue with you while you're now covering your mouth.
- 42:08Now that I'm almost finished. Yeah.
- 42:10Who would you want to see chaperone and collaborate with
- 42:13and make music with? Like, I think the obvious ones
- 42:19is like Gaga, right? You would want to hear her, hear
- 42:21her Gaga collaborate her Adele, I think would be fun to
- 42:26collaborate and make music together.
- 42:27I think her and Billy Eilish should be really fun to make
- 42:30music to like. I think all those powerful women
- 42:33who are in the scene now, Pink, I think her and Pink would be a
- 42:36fun collaboration. What was the other one you said
- 42:40earlier? The the girl that you said just
- 42:44giving your vibes with Doja Cat like her and Doja, her and Megan
- 42:48like the stallion. I think that'd be a fun
- 42:50collaboration. I.
- 42:52Mean I don't know when I said Doja cat with.
- 42:54Her, was it not Doja? You said somebody else, like a
- 42:57different musical artist, that that song gave you vibes of that
- 42:59person. I thought it was Doja Cat.
- 43:01Maybe I'm not, I said. Billie Eilish on the last.
- 43:05One. Yeah.
- 43:05Is there any other people out there you want to see her
- 43:07collaborate with? Ashniko.
- 43:14I've seen reading here and it's the Reading Festival, so that's
- 43:17definitely not one that we're going to be near.
- 43:23So right now she's overseas touring.
- 43:27Right. Yeah.
- 43:31So that's not anything coming up close to us anytime soon.
- 43:34All right. Anything else you want to add
- 43:36before we go to our next one collaboration wise?
- 43:40Ashniko, I said I heard you OK. No, that's it.
- 43:44You said pretty much all of them.
- 43:45Yeah, interesting. To make a hit album with no
- 43:49features is I think in the newer generation people are like, oh,
- 43:52you're better because you didn't have to have a feature.
- 43:53But I mean, I like when people collaborate.
- 43:55I'm not saying that I don't like when people collaborate, but I
- 43:57think that I like her music because it's not dependent on we
- 44:02don't need 2 great people. I think that it's it's very much
- 44:05like her whole, her whole thing is me just being me.
- 44:08And I don't need anybody else to just be me.
- 44:11OK, I can see that. I just I like I I wish musics
- 44:17the only genre for me that I feel like they don't collaborate
- 44:22as much. But I think there's that that
- 44:23stigma of collaboration sometimes of like, oh, you have
- 44:26to do a track with someone to get popular.
- 44:28That's like, I don't I think music is held to a different
- 44:30standard. I think more like I take a dream
- 44:32match up, right? So wrestling.
- 44:33I want to see two people wrestle who I think would be great
- 44:36chemistry together. I think the same way of music.
- 44:38Like it depresses the fuck out of me that Nicki Minaj and Cardi
- 44:42B hate each other because I think if they made an album
- 44:45together it would be fucking amazing.
- 44:48Absolutely. And even throw Megan the
- 44:50Stallion in there. If we got Nicki, Megan and
- 44:52fucking Cardi on a track, that fucking album would be the
- 44:57greatest thing of all time. Fucking throw a little Kim in
- 45:00there. Like I think it happens more
- 45:02with rap because of the beefs get too crazy but rock bands get
- 45:05beef weird beefy too. Everybody gets beef.
- 45:07Yeah, it's, it's interesting. Swifties versus like like it
- 45:11happens in every genre of music. Give me two seconds here.
- 45:14We'll be right back. All right, we're back and we're
- 45:16going to play our next song #8 on the album is going to be my
- 45:22kink is my karma. All right, my kink is karma.
- 45:29Where you at with this one? Here's your Taylor Swift song.
- 45:31Yeah, 100%. And it's, I'll say it's the
- 45:34Taylor Swift song, but it's also the Taylor Swift song after a
- 45:39hit song on the album. Like when you have a song that
- 45:42you know, when you identify with and then they hit you a song
- 45:44after, which is still a good song, but it doesn't grab you as
- 45:47much as the hit that it was on the album beforehand.
- 45:50So like, hot to go get you like, oh, I know there's one.
- 45:52Then it hits you with something like this.
- 45:54And I'm not saying it's a bad song, but I think it's like a
- 45:56filler song for the next, like to keep the album out pace
- 46:00moving. OK, that makes sense.
- 46:04Yeah, I hope I described that properly.
- 46:07I don't hate the song, but it it didn't stand out like the
- 46:09others. If I if I had my low moment of
- 46:11the album so far or the song that's my least favorite, it
- 46:14would be this one. This is my least favorite song
- 46:16on the album on the entire album.
- 46:18So I'm not off base when I say that.
- 46:19No, yeah, I gave this a three out of five.
- 46:22I give this one like a 2. Yeah, I don't think it's bad.
- 46:24I think this. I think I still think it's OK,
- 46:26but I still think the songwriting is really good.
- 46:28But the I feel like I've heard this song before.
- 46:32Does that make sense? Yes.
- 46:33That's not I'm not being hateful what I say.
- 46:34No, it's just, it sounds like a well.
- 46:36So it's very, it's not, you've heard the music already, you've
- 46:42heard the melody already. You've heard the rhythm, the
- 46:44cadence of it. It sounds familiar.
- 46:47So it's harder for me to for me myself to go, OK, let me listen
- 46:50to the words that are here instead of me going, hold on,
- 46:53let me sing the songs from the other song that I know that has
- 46:55the same rhythm. And I get like the two
- 46:57storylines mixed up, so to speak.
- 46:59Definitely. So anything else with this one
- 47:01before we move on? I think that was that was it,
- 47:06yeah. All right, next one picture you.
- 47:11Picture you. What do you think of this one?
- 47:14This is another song that's very high on on the list from like
- 47:18for the album. For me, I I think it's like
- 47:22reminiscent, but like not in a reminiscent kind of way.
- 47:26Like it's like like it's letting someone know how much they think
- 47:31about them, but not in just AI used.
- 47:34I used to think about you like I still think about you, OK?
- 47:38I like it, like tell me you're king.
- 47:40So I go to the library and fucking research them and shit.
- 47:42Like, I don't know. I think it's a cool song.
- 47:44I love the way it's composed. I love the acoustic guitar with
- 47:47the heavy bass bass line and the bass coming in and it gives me
- 47:50that Adele funk vibe a little bit too.
- 47:54I think this almost gives me more of like a 50s like a like a
- 47:58stay with me, like yeah, like that kind.
- 48:00Of it has like that old, that old school like dum dum dum dum
- 48:04dum dum dum dum dum dum dum. Like I like it.
- 48:07This is my favorite song on the album.
- 48:09I'm going five out of five on this.
- 48:10One. Yeah, this one's very high on
- 48:11my. List yeah this is a really I
- 48:12really like that that might that that's the song to beat for me
- 48:16track 9 is the track to beat for me when it comes to my favorite
- 48:19song on the. Only five more to go.
- 48:21Can it get bumped? #10 where where we got we got
- 48:25five more after this four more after this and this is called
- 48:29Kaleidoscope. Real quick cut back in picture
- 48:37you 113,000,000 plays Kaleidoscope at 57,000 plays.
- 48:42My kink is my karma at 232. Picture you another one.
- 48:45I think it's criminally low on the plays, with almost the
- 48:51second lowest. The second lowest track on the
- 48:54album is Kaleidoscope, but with plays.
- 48:56So I'm interested to see how it translates to us, to how the
- 49:00world views it because it. Is I think it's actually very,
- 49:03it's very telling of who we are as people.
- 49:06Because even like when you look at like not cool at high school
- 49:08in, in general, a lot of the movies or that people think are
- 49:12trash are the ones that we are more into.
- 49:14Because I think it's more on a not on a developmental level,
- 49:18but on a understanding level. And I think we are understanding
- 49:21people and we reach for those deeper meanings where a lot of
- 49:24people just take things at surface level.
- 49:26Yeah, so my two favorite songs so far on like Picture Me is
- 49:30still 113,000, which is really, really good, but Coffee is like
- 49:352061 thousand, which is the third lowest on the album.
- 49:38With this leading into this kaleidoscope, as I'm saying,
- 49:41let's see what this one's what falls for us.
- 49:46All right, Kaleidoscope. What?
- 49:48Do you think I want your opinions on this first because I
- 49:51have an idea of like what this means to me.
- 49:55So it's going to be weird because Kaleidoscope makes me
- 50:00want to up my score on track 8 for my kink is my karma because
- 50:05I think my kink is my karma. Picture you in Kaleidoscope or
- 50:09like chapter 1-2 and three. OK.
- 50:12Like I think, I think I don't know, I just think they they
- 50:16tell a story there and I think they all blend together very
- 50:19nice. And I think it puts a nice bow
- 50:21on this little section of the album where I feel like you're
- 50:24kind of telling a little bit of a story.
- 50:25I think this is the song, even though it's a second least
- 50:28played on the album, This is the song.
- 50:30I feel like if you're doing a music competition or if you're a
- 50:32karaoke or you're going to do like a solo guitar or a solo
- 50:36piano player, I think this has that very Beatles, Hey Jude,
- 50:40imagine John Legend, John Lennon, where it's just a simple
- 50:43piano and just really, really test song structure and your
- 50:47vocal abilities. And I think this is the song
- 50:50that I think in over the test of time of this album will be a
- 50:54song I think will stand stronger than any other thing on this
- 50:57album. Because I think it's that song
- 50:58that you're like, I want to be a musician.
- 51:00I want to learn how to sing. I want to invoke emotion and
- 51:02sing a really powerful ballad, but I only need a simple piano
- 51:05to do it. And I think Kaleidoscope nails
- 51:08that for a song. Like I think if when I hear
- 51:11American Idol or The Voice in the next 10 years, I think this
- 51:15is going to be a song that people sing that is like, it's
- 51:18simple, but it's powerful for it.
- 51:21So now for meaning. Yeah, it just it seems like
- 51:26there's very confused of the relationship and are they going
- 51:30back to being friends kind of like pitcher you like, you know
- 51:32what I mean? Like are they going to be remain
- 51:33friends? Are they going to be together?
- 51:35Love is a mysterious thing that you don't understand, but like
- 51:38love physically maybe doesn't have to end, but you can still
- 51:41remember be friends. But it just it's it's a
- 51:44whirlwind. It's very confusing on what love
- 51:46can be, especially when you're someone who can love, I guess
- 51:50multiple genders at once. I can't relate to that.
- 51:52You know what I mean? Like I can relate to that
- 51:55because love to me is different than I think I deceive, deceive,
- 51:59love, perceive love differently. Like I can love.
- 52:03I'm, I'm, I'm pansexual when it comes to mental connection, when
- 52:08it comes to like, not physically, physically I'm very
- 52:10heterosexual, but mentally I think I'm very pansexual, you
- 52:13should say. Platonically.
- 52:16I I'm I'm just using terms that I don't know.
- 52:17Platonic means with friends. Sure, platonic most platonically
- 52:21I'm pansexual where I can genuinely loves anyone and
- 52:26really get to know them and truly love them for human
- 52:29beings. But when it comes to physical
- 52:31love, I'm very halosexual. I, I, I sorry, I don't know.
- 52:35I'm not sorry. But like, yeah, but yeah, love
- 52:39is a kaleidoscope because like I said that for me, like love is
- 52:42like, there's a lot of people I love.
- 52:44I love a lot of people on really deep levels.
- 52:47And when people hurt you, even on a friendship level like that
- 52:51offends me or how it hurts me as because I love hard, I do love
- 52:55my friends, I do love who I care about.
- 52:57And when I get done dirty like it, it's almost like a breakup.
- 53:00Like it really bothers me in those wells where I think some
- 53:03people don't connect to people that way and the only thing they
- 53:05do feel is that physical connection.
- 53:07So maybe I perceive this song differently than others just
- 53:09because I I look at love differently, But go ahead.
- 53:12OK, so I look at this as a song of I don't know who I am.
- 53:20Not that I don't know who I am, but very much like you don't
- 53:23need to understand it. No go back to where you were cuz
- 53:26I wanna go into those lyrics that you were just at.
- 53:29Nope. In the chorus, she says when you
- 53:33turn, hold on, but turning to the left or to the right, color
- 53:38shining in your eye and even upside down, it's beautiful.
- 53:41Somehow I feel like that's very like, either you have to be this
- 53:44or you have to be that. And love isn't just straight or
- 53:48gay. There's so much in between and
- 53:50all of it's beautiful. But not even just that.
- 53:53Love being a kaleidoscope like I feel like it and, and maybe this
- 53:58is me from a not straight perspective.
- 54:00I think that there are, I wouldn't say so much phases.
- 54:03It's not a phase, but I think that love can change so much
- 54:07like I can I I would say that at one point in time I was a
- 54:12bisexual. I only wanted to be with men and
- 54:14women, but then the more that I learn about things, the more
- 54:18that I'm like, I'm maybe I fit more into this group or fit into
- 54:20that group. But at the end of the day, it
- 54:23being this very big spectrum of love is love.
- 54:26And you don't have to understand what every single color is or
- 54:29what what shape there is to it. Love can look in so many
- 54:33different forms and just it being that it shouldn't matter
- 54:38what my love is or what it looks like, just know that I love you.
- 54:42Yeah, there is no wrong way to look at a kaleidoscope.
- 54:45And everyone looks at a kaleidoscope differently.
- 54:47And each image that you turn that dial is going to give you a
- 54:50different version of art or different feelings or emotions
- 54:53or invoke different things. And everyone's going to feel
- 54:56something different. Like, there's a million
- 54:57different ways to look at a kaleidoscope, and everyone's
- 54:59going to see it in a different. Way So when she's saying whether
- 55:01you're looking at it left, right or upside down, it's still
- 55:03beautiful. And that's like that
- 55:05kaleidoscope. You change it even just a little
- 55:07bit, it's going to look completely different from when
- 55:09I'm holding it to when I hand it to you.
- 55:12Even that shift, it's going to change, and that doesn't make it
- 55:15any less beautiful. I think I think too like if you
- 55:17want to perceive or using an analogy of a kaleidoscope, it's
- 55:20like the world, see the world wants to be a certain way.
- 55:23They want they want a face image.
- 55:25Color wheel. And it's the perfect color wheel
- 55:27and that's all. And everything has to be
- 55:28identified by that's red, that's yellow, this is this.
- 55:31You can't play in this color with this color.
- 55:33And kaleidoscopes like, no, we're going to smash everything
- 55:35together. And I think just when you're a
- 55:37person, you can change who you are and how you feel and how you
- 55:41love. And there's nothing wrong with
- 55:43that. Because I think people think
- 55:46that you need to nail down how you feel or how you're going to
- 55:49be at a young age. And that's how you have to be.
- 55:51And you can't change and you can adjust and you can't be
- 55:54something different or change your look or your style or the
- 55:57way you conduct yourself or you're allowed to change.
- 55:59Change is part change is part of human nature.
- 56:02Like I was kind of like last night when I was out.
- 56:05I, and I'm not trying to bring up a past relationship, but
- 56:08people kept asking like, oh, well, what happened?
- 56:09What's going on there? And I was like, listen, like at
- 56:12the end of the day, I don't know.
- 56:13I don't know how they feel. I don't know how they coped, how
- 56:15they bonded. I, I generally hope they find
- 56:18happiness and it goes for anybody past friendships,
- 56:20anything. I generally just look at things
- 56:22now of like, I can't hold on to resentment because you're no
- 56:24longer in my life. Like I hope you found happiness.
- 56:27If I've done something wrong to hurt you, I apologize.
- 56:29I, I, I, I'm, I'm still to this like the last two years for me,
- 56:33I've bettered myself. I think I've explored more, I
- 56:35found who I am more how to adjust things more, how to
- 56:38approach things more. And it's just like, like maybe I
- 56:42lost track here what I'm saying, but it's like it's OK to change.
- 56:45It's OK to be something different.
- 56:46It's OK to want something different.
- 56:47It's OK to feel a dirt different way, love a different way,
- 56:51respond a different way. Like it's.
- 56:53All part of growth. Yeah, growth is important and,
- 56:56and, and there's no right or wrong way to do it.
- 56:59There's no blueprint. And if you're doing something
- 57:01different with your art or chasing your dreams or finding
- 57:04love or being who you are or loving how you love differently
- 57:07than you did three weeks ago, there's nothing wrong with that.
- 57:09Lean into it. Find out where it takes you, but
- 57:11also still kind of understand that every other person in your
- 57:15universe is all still looking at their own kaleidoscope, and
- 57:17maybe they're not seeing it the same way you're seeing it, which
- 57:21doesn't make them necessarily a bad person.
- 57:23Unless your views are hurting people because you are actively
- 57:26trying to close their kaleidoscope, then go fuck
- 57:29yourself. But have more understanding of
- 57:31people, of how they handle situations or how they want to
- 57:34love or how they want to adjust. And maybe the person you're
- 57:36attaching yourself to isn't attaching them to yourselves to
- 57:39you anymore. Like this.
- 57:40It's a lot and it's a lot to take in.
- 57:42It's a lot of different things and it's understanding,
- 57:44compassion and just change is good.
- 57:47We've probably got way off base with that, but all right, next
- 57:50song #11. Wait a minute, what's your score
- 57:54on that? One that one I gave a four.
- 57:56That's that's my favorite one on the entire album.
- 57:58I. Don't think it's better than a
- 57:59picture of you, but I think I think you're wrong.
- 58:01I think I think it's really, really good.
- 58:03All right, the next one here is going to be another another
- 58:06popular one. This is going to be the the hit
- 58:08song. This is going to be the the song
- 58:10that we end the night with, but we're not going to right now.
- 58:13But I think if you've seen her live, she probably, I'm going to
- 58:17guess this is what do you think? This is the closing song Pink
- 58:19Pony Club. Do you think this is the how she
- 58:21ends the show? I think this is how she just
- 58:23would open the show. Open with Pink Pony Club, what
- 58:25do you think she ends with Hot to go.
- 58:28Probably, yeah. Send everybody home happy.
- 58:30Yeah, it's either Hot to Go or Pink Pony Club.
- 58:32I think she opens with pink pony club.
- 58:34I would say like pink pony club is more.
- 58:36So Hot to Go is her welcome home.
- 58:37Let's just listen to it. Hot to Go is her welcome home.
- 58:40Actually let's I want to do some real quick.
- 58:45What's her name of her tour? I don't know.
- 58:55Oh, we're going to Google this real quick and not Google, but
- 58:58so Spotify does this cool thing where you can, you can find, so
- 59:09I don't know if this is it. That's probably not it.
- 59:12You could find like if your favorite person's on tour, you
- 59:15can go look at the playlist and people make playlists of how the
- 59:19tour, like what the tour's doing and it kind of gives you the set
- 59:22list. And and that's I think that's
- 59:25kind of fun. I wouldn't do it on the way to a
- 59:28concert. I think I did that once and that
- 59:31was always a bad move. All right, so she opens the show
- 59:38with Phenomena. Femme Nomenon is how it's
- 59:43according to this this this the 2004 Chapel Rd. setlist. 2004
- 59:48Yeah. Was she born yet?
- 59:49Huh, 2024 sorry the 2024 setlist It it Hot to Go is the 6th song
- 59:58on the setlist. They did a Bad Romance cover.
- 1:00:04So where's Pink Pony Club on it? It ends the show.
- 1:00:06It's, it's the closer, yeah. Let's go all.
- 1:00:09Right. So we were close.
- 1:00:12One of those two are going to be it.
- 1:00:13But here we go. Pink Pony Club.
- 1:00:17All right, Pink Pony Club Banger.
- 1:00:22Banger. Banger, banger.
- 1:00:23Banger banger song. Now that you've read the lyrics
- 1:00:27with it, do you get where I because I kind of gave you my
- 1:00:30interpretation of this before listening to this?
- 1:00:33I have AI have a different interpretation that may not be
- 1:00:37with other. Once again, I'm trying to also
- 1:00:39relate to music. That really is it.
- 1:00:43It's not made for me. Right.
- 1:00:44It's not made for you. Yeah.
- 1:00:45But I think, I think I understand what they identify as
- 1:00:49a Pink Point club. It's like the club, it's the
- 1:00:50drag shows, it's where it's community, it's the party scene,
- 1:00:53it's where everyone can be themselves.
- 1:00:56Where if you're gay, straight band, pie pan, trans, whatever
- 1:01:01it may be, everyone's allowed to be there and everyone's allowed
- 1:01:03to feel happy and they could be club and and they can show
- 1:01:06express themselves any way they possibly can.
- 1:01:08And it's just acceptance. It's where you feel comfortable.
- 1:01:10It's what you love that maybe other people may not be into,
- 1:01:14you know? So I'll say this, you know what
- 1:01:16My Ping Pony Club is? Wrestling.
- 1:01:18I was going to say the cult. Like, I feel like it's not so
- 1:01:21much. Yeah, yeah, like pro wrestling.
- 1:01:23It's too. It's like a it is.
- 1:01:25I feel like it's not so much actually a club and we're not
- 1:01:28talking about going to the game club.
- 1:01:30It is that, yeah. It's a sense of community.
- 1:01:32It's where you can go and be yourself and be unapologetic.
- 1:01:35And have a group of your peers that are accepting of you and
- 1:01:39supportive. Of you 100% and you can let your
- 1:01:41freak flag fly. You can, I mean.
- 1:01:43It's almost like I. Think one of clubs that we go to
- 1:01:46where I feel like you can like the clubs that we go to are kind
- 1:01:49of you're accepted however you want to be.
- 1:01:52You can present yourself wherever you want to be.
- 1:01:54You can do whatever you want to do.
- 1:01:55There's, you know, I mean like that's like that's I could be
- 1:01:58another version exploring your sexuality of like the club like
- 1:02:02that too. Sure.
- 1:02:03Yeah. I don't know how to say it
- 1:02:06anymore. God.
- 1:02:07It's a ping pong club or wrestling.
- 1:02:09That it was what you were saying.
- 1:02:10I'm sorry. No, I was saying like, like, oh,
- 1:02:15so I was saying that like also another part in there that she
- 1:02:18was saying or that the the lyrics that she brings up are
- 1:02:20like, I want to leave Tennessee to go to Santa Monica.
- 1:02:23And then in the second verse she says like, I'm I still see you
- 1:02:26Tennessee, but Santa Monica, you've been so good to me.
- 1:02:29And I feel like it's more of not necessarily where she, obviously
- 1:02:32she's not actually from Tennessee, but like, but what I
- 1:02:36mean is that like, it's that sense of that community and they
- 1:02:41don't care about where you're from or like what people thought
- 1:02:43about you back then. You can be here now and be with
- 1:02:46us and we're still going to support you no matter where you
- 1:02:48came from or where you're going. We got you here.
- 1:02:52Is there a location on the earth that you have been or that you
- 1:02:55want to go that you feel is drawing you like you want to go
- 1:02:58to that area and just kind of you just feel drawn to it?
- 1:03:02You mean like like Hollywood like that?
- 1:03:04Like that feeling of like I. Want a location?
- 1:03:08I really, I really, really, I think that it's, it's going to
- 1:03:12sound so wild, but I think that like Transylvania like is huge
- 1:03:17for me. Like I really want like I want
- 1:03:20to go see Spain, like where my family came from and all the
- 1:03:23stuff like that. But I feel like there's always
- 1:03:25been something like not just like on a vampire level, but
- 1:03:29there's always been something that's like I've seen the
- 1:03:32castles there and just the scenery and the nature and
- 1:03:35everything around it. Like I feel like I could fully
- 1:03:38immerse myself there and just be my little goth sad person
- 1:03:42without being like judged on like, oh, why are you so
- 1:03:46negative all the time? I'm not.
- 1:03:48I mean, maybe I am, but but I mean like, it's kind of just
- 1:03:52that. Yeah.
- 1:03:54I acceptance. I feel like when people say I
- 1:03:57want to go to the West Coast or the East Coast, or I want to go
- 1:03:59to New York or I want to go to Florida or I want to go to
- 1:04:02Hawaii or I want to go to Hollywood or, you know, San
- 1:04:06Francisco for me, I've always felt that way to the UK.
- 1:04:09And when I finally got there, like it's, it's gloomy, it's
- 1:04:13rainy, it's everything, but it's it's, but also there's beauty in
- 1:04:17it. There's there's history, there's
- 1:04:19blue collar nest, there's royalty, there's fashion,
- 1:04:22there's queer culture, there's punk, there's rock.
- 1:04:26They're like everything about London.
- 1:04:28Like drew me, I was like, man, if I ever go there, I feel like
- 1:04:30I would fit in so well. And then I went and I was like,
- 1:04:34I would fucking live here. Like now that Jackie lives there
- 1:04:37and Jane lives there, I'm like, man, I just, I, I being there
- 1:04:41for a week was perfect for me too.
- 1:04:43Like if I only went for two or three days, I don't think you
- 1:04:45would feel that. But being there for a week and
- 1:04:47just walking the streets and just walking through
- 1:04:49neighborhoods and towns, I just, it's everything I love about
- 1:04:52small town Pennsylvania, but having a bigger vibe of a New
- 1:04:55York where there's so many different cultures there too.
- 1:04:58And I loved it. Like that's how she was saying
- 1:05:01I'm being drawn to Santa Monica. I feel that in the song with
- 1:05:03like the London to me. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:05:06A public like you don't need a car.
- 1:05:08You don't have to rely on things.
- 1:05:09You can just go and get on a train and go.
- 1:05:12Maybe that's a big city vibe too that I would like.
- 1:05:14But where I maybe live I. Would like just freaking.
- 1:05:16Public transportation would be nice.
- 1:05:18You know, I want to hang out with my friend today but my car
- 1:05:21sucks or I don't feel like driving.
- 1:05:22No, I mean like we don't. Even get on a fucking train.
- 1:05:25We can't even. Get on a bus where we live.
- 1:05:27I know it's there's. No bus.
- 1:05:29Yeah, but even like getting on the train, like you're kind of
- 1:05:32people watching and you can meet new people and have a spark up
- 1:05:35conversation of like London has the big city feel of like a New
- 1:05:39York I would feel. I've never been in New York
- 1:05:41City. But also have that they're not
- 1:05:43afraid to have a conversation with you or they're not afraid
- 1:05:46to stop and have a chat. You know what I mean?
- 1:05:49We're like New York. Everyone's kind of like, get the
- 1:05:51fuck out of my face, you know what I mean?
- 1:05:52Like those bigger American city vibes are like, I'm only worried
- 1:05:56about myself. Like London, I was there and
- 1:05:58people were like, I want to learn about you.
- 1:06:00And I was like, I like that feeling.
- 1:06:02Like I thought it was really cool.
- 1:06:03I can't say. I've really ever experienced
- 1:06:05that. 4.5 out of five, I'm not going to give it a full five.
- 1:06:09I'm not going to give it a four. It does.
- 1:06:11It definitely meets in the middle.
- 1:06:12I think it's it it's the poppy hit song that it needs to be,
- 1:06:16but it also has a meaning that people should understand too.
- 1:06:20So I think it has that good crossover of like picture you
- 1:06:24realness, coffee realness, but also blends in that hot to go.
- 1:06:29But there's a real meaning here. But it still has that bop feel
- 1:06:33to it. Yeah.
- 1:06:35It's a dancey like Hey ya, Hey ya is like a really good song
- 1:06:39where it's like, oh, there's. Something.
- 1:06:39And that's a real serious. But also, we're going to dance
- 1:06:42to it, you know what I mean? Like a pig.
- 1:06:45Pony Club gives me that vibe, too.
- 1:06:46What about you score? It gives me more of a this song
- 1:06:50specifically has like more of an 80s vibe for me, but like AI
- 1:06:56feel like the guitar in it gives me almost like a guns and Roses.
- 1:06:59OK. I think at the beginning of the
- 1:07:01song, it's very much more Bohemian Rhapsody, like the the
- 1:07:05very slow opening and like the like not alluding to their mom,
- 1:07:09like leaving their mom behind. And obviously it's not the same
- 1:07:12situation, but kind of that like making it from a ballad to like,
- 1:07:17OK, and now we're going to go in.
- 1:07:18Yeah, it definitely does change tempo a lot.
- 1:07:20I like it. It's a banger.
- 1:07:22I think it's one of those songs I think is people like, it's
- 1:07:24overplayed, but I like fuck it, overplay it.
- 1:07:26I think the world needs it. Pink Pony Club.
- 1:07:29Love you naked in Manhattan. I go first to this one.
- 1:07:35You've been sorry. You want.
- 1:07:37No, I mean, like, you're good. Go ahead.
- 1:07:39I was expecting you to. I I get maybe it's just
- 1:07:44Manhattan and New York and the whole 9, but I get like a sex
- 1:07:46and the city vibe like so am I envision like she's with the
- 1:07:50girl and she's having that like girl best friend girl vibes, but
- 1:07:54she has more feelings for the girl that maybe the girl has for
- 1:07:57her and she's like, am I are we just girlfriend?
- 1:08:00I think girls have the this ability that they can be like
- 1:08:05naked around each other or do things with it around each other
- 1:08:07and nobody really fucking cares. Like you're more comfortable
- 1:08:09with your own body that you can like you go to the bathroom
- 1:08:12together or like stuff like that or like over trying out offlets
- 1:08:14and like not being. Naked.
- 1:08:15All right, I'm about. To say, let me say something
- 1:08:17real quick. Hold on.
- 1:08:18No, like I get what you're. Saying like, I feel like girls
- 1:08:20have a better connection when it comes to guys where they can do
- 1:08:23I think guys can too. I I think also like where guys
- 1:08:26like who, who would Dick bro? Like there's weird like I don't
- 1:08:29know, I'm going to say something.
- 1:08:29So there could be crossover tension.
- 1:08:31But if you're also someone who is into girls, but maybe your
- 1:08:33girl sees you as just her girl early, but not her, like she's
- 1:08:37not into girls in that way. I feel like there's confusion in
- 1:08:39this song when she's like, I I really like you as a friend, but
- 1:08:42also like I can fuck you. Like, I don't know, like that's
- 1:08:47where I kind of see this song. I hope I probably butchered that
- 1:08:50in my analogy, but go. Ahead.
- 1:08:51No, I get what you're saying. I think that here's my
- 1:08:55controversial pic. I think guys could do that too,
- 1:08:57but guys are much more judgmental where guys are like
- 1:09:00just hey, just be you. Like I feel like now don't get
- 1:09:03me wrong, girls are girls worst enemies at the same time, but
- 1:09:08when you're when you feel comfortable around something
- 1:09:10like I don't go to my to the bathroom with my girlfriend so
- 1:09:13that I can watch them pee. It's it's going to sound like, I
- 1:09:16don't know, maybe this is just me and my anxieties.
- 1:09:18But when I go with someone to the bathroom, it's because I
- 1:09:20don't know what could happen on the like, especially at a club
- 1:09:23scenario. I don't know what could happen
- 1:09:24on the way to the bathroom, on the way back.
- 1:09:26So I take my girls with me. But also as far as the song
- 1:09:31goes, like, yeah, I would say that this is like we're trying
- 1:09:33to go off these blurred lines of like, are we are we just
- 1:09:37friends? Are we something more?
- 1:09:39As far as the Sex and the City thing, I I would agree that it
- 1:09:42has kind of that that vibe, but it's also to me, it's very M83.
- 1:09:51I don't know if you if you wouldn't know them, but just by
- 1:09:54their name, but like the song Midnight City, it's giving it
- 1:09:59gives a lot of those same vibes of like we're here.
- 1:10:03We're here to have fun. Maybe we could have more fun,
- 1:10:06but like let's just see where the night takes us.
- 1:10:08Like I I'm cool with it going for more.
- 1:10:11I'd like it if we went for something more, but if it's not,
- 1:10:14I'm still here to vibe with you have.
- 1:10:15You ever been in a situation where you had a situation where
- 1:10:20like you're into a girl but you're just friends?
- 1:10:22She just sees you as a friend, but you're obviously she doesn't
- 1:10:25know you're. In love with my best friend
- 1:10:26before so like. Where you wanted more physical
- 1:10:29and then you knew that that wasn't what they were about at
- 1:10:32all. She is very, very straight.
- 1:10:34Like she, I mean, she is very, very straight, but there's,
- 1:10:37she's gorgeous to, to begin with.
- 1:10:41We're not really as close as we used to be, but I vibed with her
- 1:10:46so hard as a, as a person. And then like, I mean, yeah,
- 1:10:50like I said, she was my best friend, but I felt like a lot
- 1:10:52mentally we connected. And like, I talk.
- 1:10:56First of all, you're an amazing partner.
- 1:10:59So I don't want this to be taken out of context, but I felt like
- 1:11:01she could look at my face and just be like, OK, we're dropping
- 1:11:06everything right now. What's going on?
- 1:11:08Like you. I try to do that and I get
- 1:11:11fucking met with the war of. OK, do you want to if you want
- 1:11:15to go into that, you get met with the war of Satan because
- 1:11:18I'm usually over stimulated. Let me rephrase that.
- 1:11:21She could tell when I'm over stimulated and say OK, let's
- 1:11:23stop. You're like, let's I have to be
- 1:11:26watching a YouTube video while I'm listening to music while I'm
- 1:11:28also trying to edit things. And I can't have you bug me
- 1:11:31right now. So if you're gonna have a
- 1:11:32breakdown about something that's trivial, you need to tell me why
- 1:11:34and you need to tell me now. And I'm like, well, fuck you.
- 1:11:37I'm already over stimulated and you're trying to get me to just
- 1:11:39that's fair. Like I can't like it's not.
- 1:11:41I'm not saying that that you do that purposefully or
- 1:11:44maliciously, but usually when I'm at that point already and
- 1:11:47you're like, what's wrong? I'm like fucking nothing.
- 1:11:50Yeah, because I want to be like. Fucking every my DHD is locked
- 1:11:53in and I see you need help and I'm like can we just get the
- 1:11:56Cliff notes and fix you quicker? It's more on me and not on you.
- 1:12:00I'm not saying that it's on you, but we definitely more think of
- 1:12:03things. I'm not meeting you at your
- 1:12:04level because I'm more thinking about I'm being selfish.
- 1:12:07I don't think you're being selfish.
- 1:12:09I think that we just handle things differently.
- 1:12:10We don't. I when I want to sit and talk is
- 1:12:13when everything's quiet and we can focus on what I want to sit
- 1:12:16and talk about. And you're someone.
- 1:12:18Who my quiet time is, I want to be quiet.
- 1:12:19I don't want to talk at that point.
- 1:12:21OK, So what I was saying though was how you handle things is is
- 1:12:25and, and everything that you do is very much.
- 1:12:27I can do 17 things at once and my brain is like I can do 1.
- 1:12:31So if like I know this isn't, I'm not going to say that this
- 1:12:35bothers you, but something that I think bothers me in general is
- 1:12:39like when I go out to hang out with friends, like I feel like
- 1:12:42I'm not giving you enough attention, but I'm incapable of
- 1:12:45having a conversation with someone and texting someone at
- 1:12:47the same time. Yeah, I know.
- 1:12:48I. Cannot do that.
- 1:12:50No, I want that like go do your. Thing no, but I mean like you
- 1:12:53can sit and have a conversation with someone and be texting
- 1:12:56somebody else about something else and talking to this person
- 1:12:58about the podcast and talking to this person about the wrestling
- 1:13:00show that's going on next month or two months from now and
- 1:13:04editing stuff and watching wrestling at the same time.
- 1:13:06And then I'm like, hey, really quick, can you look at this?
- 1:13:09And you're like, I'm in the middle of stuff.
- 1:13:11You get, I overstimulated too. But then when you're like, hey,
- 1:13:15like, or if I start like freaking out or something,
- 1:13:17you're like, OK, well, you want to talk about it.
- 1:13:19No, not when all this shit's going on like I can't focus on.
- 1:13:22It, but again, it was a weird detour from your girlfriend.
- 1:13:24Way far detour, but my point being with her I did.
- 1:13:28I do feel like there was a best friend that I had that I could
- 1:13:32easily see. Like you were my soul mate.
- 1:13:33Like you, if you ever wanted to be with me, if you ever wanted
- 1:13:38to try out lesbianism or or be with a girl, like please call me
- 1:13:44first because you're perfect for me.
- 1:13:48But. And it didn't end up being like
- 1:13:50she was just like, yeah, no, that's straight up not me.
- 1:13:52But I felt I had that connection with her like a couple of months
- 1:13:55into meeting her and we had a friendship that was really
- 1:13:58strong and like, like she went with me to pride events.
- 1:14:01Like she was my go to for for like she was the first person I
- 1:14:04called for pride and she just wanted to go to have fun and
- 1:14:06like she very much was an ally, but that just wasn't her thing.
- 1:14:09But it I was always very much like, I'll be your second
- 1:14:13straight. I'll be your side playing, you
- 1:14:15know, if you just whatever, I I just want to be in your
- 1:14:18presence. I want to be with you.
- 1:14:20Like I feel like I could be that way with other females too,
- 1:14:22where you're like, I could be your homie, I could be friends,
- 1:14:24we could be cool. I could be your crying shoulder.
- 1:14:26I vibe with you. If you want to make a physical,
- 1:14:28I'm down with that too. But it doesn't.
- 1:14:30We're not going to cross. We're not.
- 1:14:32Going to cross a line of like you can still go be physical
- 1:14:35other people and do your own thing and live your life.
- 1:14:36Like our physicality. I hope it doesn't change our
- 1:14:38friendship. I don't want on my end but I can
- 1:14:40see how it make you feel on yours type deal.
- 1:14:43Yeah, but I mean, I'm not even I, I, yes.
- 1:14:48But if you would not pressure would have gotten physical, it
- 1:14:50wouldn't you wouldn't have been like.
- 1:14:51I'm not even talking about that though.
- 1:14:52I mean, like, yes, I am, but I'm saying that like that was never,
- 1:14:57it was never on the table. It wasn't like, hey, I'm hanging
- 1:15:00out with girls that are that fuck guys.
- 1:15:02I was trying to hang out with a girl that fucks guys that I was
- 1:15:04trying to like, not that I was trying to, but I wanted her to
- 1:15:07be interested in a woman. Like if she was interested in a
- 1:15:10woman, like I never had a chance.
- 1:15:11I never had that chance. The only chance that was ever
- 1:15:14there was that we're ever going to be friends.
- 1:15:16And I'm not saying that that's not a possibility for you with
- 1:15:19with female friends, but I mean, like there is still kind of a
- 1:15:22chance that you're hanging out with a straight girl that she
- 1:15:24might want to fuck. I got like have a Dick in her.
- 1:15:26Whereas like if I'm hanging out with a straight girl, there's
- 1:15:29there's pretty much I couldn't get her to kiss me when she was
- 1:15:32drunk. Like it was such a far no for
- 1:15:35her. Yeah, that's fair.
- 1:15:37I'm I'm the I'm the the dude version of that girl.
- 1:15:41Sorry. You're like, I'm trying to put
- 1:15:43myself in the situation of being her of like if it was a dude
- 1:15:46with me. Yeah, like a gay dude with me.
- 1:15:48Like I let you're I like you. You're attractive.
- 1:15:50I would I liked your vibe. I would be with you but like.
- 1:15:53I'll be your best friend. I'll I will never be with you.
- 1:15:55But it's never going to happen like that.
- 1:15:57You're like. OK.
- 1:15:59Yeah, that's that's that's a shitty feeling, but also.
- 1:16:03But, but I mean, again, as far as this song goes, I think this
- 1:16:05is I, I, I enjoy this song. A lot too.
- 1:16:08But that is the vibe of like, please, I want you, but if you
- 1:16:12don't want it from you, it's OK. Like I still just want you to be
- 1:16:14my friend. Like I still want you in my
- 1:16:16life. You still mean a lot to.
- 1:16:17Me another. Another queer culture struggle,
- 1:16:19I guess. Yeah.
- 1:16:20Yeah, I'll. Give it that one.
- 1:16:21All right. Next, Oh, next song.
- 1:16:25California. Now, we've already learned that.
- 1:16:28Definitely that West Coast is where Chapel or what do they
- 1:16:33call her Chappie or something nice.
- 1:16:34I heard the one interview kind of shorten it.
- 1:16:37I haven't. I'm not cool with her on that
- 1:16:39level. I'm not gonna give her a name
- 1:16:40that she doesn't. Can I say one other thing really
- 1:16:42quick? So we went.
- 1:16:43You asked me before about collabs and the last song she
- 1:16:48says, what is it? Do you want to listen to Lana or
- 1:16:51you're listening to Lana and I'm like Lana Del gay.
- 1:16:54Yes, I need I need a chaperone with Lana Del Rey, but also I
- 1:16:58think with Halsey, the last song.
- 1:17:00I think that would be a great Halsey for to Halsey be with
- 1:17:03her. And then two other people that
- 1:17:07were coming to mind while listening to the album were
- 1:17:10Bishop Briggs, Like a river. Do you know the song Like a
- 1:17:14river? I think she would That would be
- 1:17:15another good one. And hear me out on this one hot
- 1:17:20take. Paris Paloma.
- 1:17:23She does feminist songs, but they're very much done in a more
- 1:17:26serious note. And I think that her and Chapel
- 1:17:29could like song write together, but I feel like Chapel would
- 1:17:33make it to where I'm not saying that it's it's more it's more
- 1:17:37easily digestible, like where people put it on and be like,
- 1:17:41oh, this is catchy da da da. And then when you're listening
- 1:17:43to the lyrics like you're. I want to, I want to dive into
- 1:17:45this, but I think it'll give away something later in the
- 1:17:47podcast when we do the wrap up. So I'm going to, I'm going to
- 1:17:49hold off on my thought with that.
- 1:17:50But I see where you're coming from.
- 1:17:52I do know there's one other person or two other people I
- 1:17:54would want her to collaborate with, but they're more of not
- 1:17:57her generation and I think. It would be Sarah Perales.
- 1:17:59Yeah, yeah. All right, California.
- 1:18:03All right, California. What do you think?
- 1:18:08I think this is very the grass isn't always greener on the
- 1:18:12other side that like the like I wanted it to be all of this and
- 1:18:18I was so close to getting there and I failed.
- 1:18:22And maybe it's not everything that I dreamt it would be, but
- 1:18:26it still got me somewhere. But I miss where I miss my
- 1:18:28roots. But I also feel like knowing her
- 1:18:33story now, like I think that's exactly what the what the piece
- 1:18:38is about that like I had it and I had to give up on all of it,
- 1:18:41but like I still at least got to experience something out of it.
- 1:18:46Yeah, yeah, I, I said in the beginning I said, oh,
- 1:18:50California. We've she's been attached to
- 1:18:52that place for a while. I wonder how the song plays out
- 1:18:54because it seemed like everything you've been hearing,
- 1:18:56like I can't, I love California, I love here, I love Santa
- 1:18:59Monica, I love Hollywood. And then she makes a song call
- 1:19:03California. You think it's be upbeat,
- 1:19:04positive about California. It's like now it was fun.
- 1:19:07I had some good things. Everything there, I'm attached
- 1:19:09to everything I love is there. Everything I want is there.
- 1:19:11But I, I, I miss home and I thought that was a cool song.
- 1:19:14I gave it a 3.5. I think it's it is lower on the
- 1:19:17plays when it comes here. This is where this the album
- 1:19:19really I guess Peters out. And I guess when you make an
- 1:19:22album you want that you want, you will only want to start,
- 1:19:24start hot, have a little dip, but keep everything going and
- 1:19:27then just ease people out with the end of the album.
- 1:19:29And I think California is the way to do it.
- 1:19:31The next song, Guilty Pleasures, is going to be the lowest played
- 1:19:33song on the album. I don't think California's a bad
- 1:19:36song. I gave it a 3.5.
- 1:19:38Same. Same with Naked in Manhattan,
- 1:19:39where you do see it kind of trickle down here at the end and
- 1:19:42it it the good pacing of an album.
- 1:19:45And yeah, I thought California was really good.
- 1:19:47Anything you want to add before we close out with Guilty
- 1:19:49Pleasure? I think that the other thing I'd
- 1:19:51like to say about I can't remember the name of the artist,
- 1:19:56but the song California, California.
- 1:20:01Here we come. Right.
- 1:20:03Oh, I was thinking California resting.
- 1:20:06That's. For Hot Chili Peppers, I would
- 1:20:07know who that is, but I mean that that California of like
- 1:20:10here, I'm coming to it and it's almost like that soft ballad.
- 1:20:13I feel like this is almost a reprise to that of like
- 1:20:15California, like I had all these dreams for you, but Take Me Out
- 1:20:21now, like the the Take Me Out. Take Me Out of California or
- 1:20:24come get, get, come Get Me Out. Come get me.
- 1:20:26Yeah. Come pick me up.
- 1:20:27Come get me Mom. Yeah.
- 1:20:29All right, guilty pleasures, guilty pleasure.
- 1:20:34She's found someone, she's into the person, and they're teaching
- 1:20:37her a whole new fucking side of kinks.
- 1:20:40Here's one for you. Are they or does she want to?
- 1:20:43Maybe, maybe a little bit of both.
- 1:20:46I, I think that song shouldn't be that lowly played.
- 1:20:48I think that's a good song. That's that's a banger.
- 1:20:51I I gave that a four out of five.
- 1:20:53I don't think that should be at 40,000,047 million plays.
- 1:20:56I think that holds true with the rest of the album and I thought
- 1:20:59it was a good song, liked it. Very, very Gaga.
- 1:21:04I got a lot of Gaga on that. I get, oh, I can't think of what
- 1:21:11it's called. What do you want me to be?
- 1:21:13It's like the 80s song. You're in my obsession.
- 1:21:17Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:21:23Yeah, yeah, I'm trying. To see what else is here.
- 1:21:27All right, there's no other no other bonus tracks.
- 1:21:31There's no deluxe editions for this.
- 1:21:33Yeah, so. Albums coming out soon though.
- 1:21:35Though all those pictures at the bottom that you were just
- 1:21:37looking at are from the new album.
- 1:21:39This. Yep, that.
- 1:21:40The construction worker. The dentist.
- 1:21:42So there's new stuff coming. Yeah, she so she said she was
- 1:21:45taking off from November to May to be to work on it.
- 1:21:49OK, so the song that she's releasing is There's Good Luck
- 1:21:53Babe was a single. Oh, has she already dropped
- 1:21:55them? So there's a yeah, there's a
- 1:21:56song called Good Luck Babe single, and then there is a song
- 1:22:00The Giver. The Giver.
- 1:22:01Yeah, that just came out a few days ago, I think.
- 1:22:03OK. So yeah, they're on tour.
- 1:22:05The Giver is going to be the name of the new album.
- 1:22:07Well, the the OK, well, the the song is called The Giver too.
- 1:22:11OK, 27 million plays so far. It'll be interesting see where
- 1:22:17they where they go, people. So some people that say if you
- 1:22:21like Sabrina Carpenter on this list, Charli XCX.
- 1:22:24Yeah, Lady Gaga, Loli Young, Gabriel Gracie, Abrams Dolce.
- 1:22:33Gigi Dolce. Sorry.
- 1:22:35Gigi Perez. Doja, Gigi, Addison, Ray.
- 1:22:40Hosier, Billy. Eilish, Paris, Paloma.
- 1:22:43That's what I said, Paris. Paloma Tate McRae The Bleachers
- 1:22:47Olivia Rodrigo Raven Raven Lynnae.
- 1:22:52She has beautiful hair BIA doa Doo bee oh I.
- 1:22:58Don't know. It's a Asian girl.
- 1:23:01I can't see what. Ogman Heap, which looks pretty
- 1:23:04wild, but yeah, these are all the people that you like.
- 1:23:06If you like Doja, you would like these other people too.
- 1:23:08You would like Doja? If you like Doja, if you like
- 1:23:10Chapel Rodin, that. So just to kind of pull up real
- 1:23:15quick reception. This album is a critically
- 1:23:19claimed response according to reviews and Metacritics.
- 1:23:24It happened have received universal acclaim based on the
- 1:23:26weight and average score of 85 out of 100 from 7 critic scores.
- 1:23:29Olivia horn from Pitchfork called the album bold and
- 1:23:32uproars introduction. What else we got?
- 1:23:36It has 1 alternative press, Best of 50 albums, best, best of 50
- 1:23:42albums of 2023, Billboard. Trying to see what else it won.
- 1:23:49The music award for best international artists, Danish
- 1:23:51Music Awards for best album of the year, Grammys pop album of
- 1:23:54the year nominated and best vocal pop album nominated.
- 1:23:58But I don't think they won, which is I think a a bummer.
- 1:24:06Trying to see what else we got here.
- 1:24:07It's pretty much all I got. Peak position for Argentina.
- 1:24:12So like all top 50, all top 100 US billboards ranked #2 for a
- 1:24:18while there. Yeah, it's, it's it's doing
- 1:24:22really well. Really popular when it comes
- 1:24:25from me to this album. When we kind of go back to my
- 1:24:27other set of notes here, Favorite parts are things you
- 1:24:31liked throughout the album. I think we talked about that
- 1:24:35when it came to music and songs as we went.
- 1:24:38Overall impressions hasn't changed, I guess.
- 1:24:42Has it changed for you? I mean, you're, you're a fan,
- 1:24:44you're a fan of of them. I would say that I don't think
- 1:24:48that, well, I mean, I would say that it changed from prior to
- 1:24:53listening to the album to me actually sitting down and
- 1:24:56listening to the album. Not this time, but I mean, the
- 1:25:00first time I actually sat down and listened to it, I was like,
- 1:25:02wow, I really connect with her more than I thought I was going
- 1:25:05to. OK, this is an artist for me
- 1:25:08that I came in knowing 2 songs. One was like, it overplayed how
- 1:25:12you said, very poppy. The other one is just kind of
- 1:25:14now popping off now. And I listened to and I was
- 1:25:17like, it's fine. Like I don't hate it.
- 1:25:19But like I said, listening. So we had a conversation in the
- 1:25:22car. I said I, I, I think people are
- 1:25:25treating her like the next Madonna.
- 1:25:26I'm treating her like the next Cher, the next Lady Gaga.
- 1:25:29I'm not sure if she's there yet. And I said, like, for me, I
- 1:25:32don't think vocally she stands out like any of those other
- 1:25:35people, but I will say songwriting wise, I think she's
- 1:25:38up on that par. And I think after listening now
- 1:25:40to an entire album, I think vocally she's very solid.
- 1:25:43I think she's very, very good. One of the people I, I said
- 1:25:46collaboration wise, I think of Madonna.
- 1:25:48I think she can be the next Madonna, the next Lady Gaga, the
- 1:25:51next I, I think she can be that next cultural icon.
- 1:25:54I, after listening to this album, I have a new respect for
- 1:25:57her. I think she's very, very
- 1:25:58talented and I'm excited to see the rest of her career and how
- 1:26:01she develops and grows as an artist and as a person.
- 1:26:04I think as an album, I think it was paced very well.
- 1:26:07I think it told it a story of struggling with your sexuality
- 1:26:11and moving across the world and chasing your dreams and being
- 1:26:15homesick and discovering yourself and partying and
- 1:26:18exploring drugs and sex and rock'n'roll.
- 1:26:22I think that's all there too, of chasing art and dreams.
- 1:26:25I think as an album, I'm going to give this a 4A4 out of five.
- 1:26:30I want to give it that 4.5 out of five.
- 1:26:32Is that good? That's.
- 1:26:33Where I would. Get I'm I'm I'm between a four
- 1:26:36or four, 4.5 out of five. I think it's a fantastic,
- 1:26:40fantastic, fantastic album and I'm glad I reviewed it.
- 1:26:43I'm glad I consumed it. I'm glad I know more now about
- 1:26:46Chapel Row. I am.
- 1:26:47Too. Yeah, I'm really glad you
- 1:26:49listened to it because like I think I, I brought it up to you
- 1:26:51a few weeks ago that like. Oh, cuz I think so.
- 1:26:55We usually just throw on whoever is driving the other person puts
- 1:26:58their phone on to listen to music.
- 1:27:00And nine times out of 10, like, I mean this so respectfully, but
- 1:27:05if it's a song you don't like, you're like, OK, put this on,
- 1:27:07put this on, put this on. And I just threw on my, my
- 1:27:10soundtrack of like, or my library of songs that were on
- 1:27:13there. And I'm like, OK, I know this is
- 1:27:14Chapel Rd. and it's not really your jam, but we're gonna listen
- 1:27:17to it because I've been listening to her.
- 1:27:19And I think that you should like, give it a shot.
- 1:27:21And I feel like that was myself the the advice that I wish I
- 1:27:26would have taken like a year ago when she was popping off
- 1:27:28everywhere that like, just give it a shot.
- 1:27:30Yeah. I, I'm kind of a nightmare when
- 1:27:32it comes to consuming new content because I want to
- 1:27:34consume it here in this platform with you all.
- 1:27:37So when we're laying in bed at night and I'm like, she's like,
- 1:27:39I want to put this movie on. I'm like, I want to watch that
- 1:27:42with a camera in front of me. I know it sounds stupid and
- 1:27:44silly, but like if I want to be a content creator and I want to
- 1:27:47talk about it, I want that genuine authenticity of
- 1:27:50experiencing it, turning the camera on and talking to you
- 1:27:52about it. This isn't something I pre
- 1:27:55thought of, an idea of how my perceptions are going to be.
- 1:27:57Like I'm consuming it and being straight to honest to you of how
- 1:28:00I feel and I don't want to watch something and then come back
- 1:28:03later and do that. I think it loses what I want to
- 1:28:05do as a content creator and how I want to present my content to
- 1:28:09people. So I hope let me know in the
- 1:28:11comments if you guys listened along with us.
- 1:28:13If you listened to this and then went back and listened to the
- 1:28:15album. If you listened to the album and
- 1:28:16then came and joined us, I think we should have said in the
- 1:28:19beginning, you probably should go track by track and then hang
- 1:28:21out with us. But maybe we'll do that in the
- 1:28:23future. Maybe we're still finding
- 1:28:24ourselves as how we're going to do reviews when it comes to
- 1:28:26movies and music. I enjoyed it.
- 1:28:28I hope you guys did too. Let us know in the comments of
- 1:28:30some music or some albums or artists that you should that we
- 1:28:34should check out or movies in general.
- 1:28:36So we're going to be bouncing between movies and music here on
- 1:28:39the Not cool in high school. Maybe some other things too.
- 1:28:41But well, thank you guys so much for tuning in.
- 1:28:43I'm not looking forward to editing all the music aspect out
- 1:28:45of this, but I was like I said, I'm going to be as honest and
- 1:28:48authentic as I can. Lily, where can people find and
- 1:28:51support you? OK.
- 1:28:52So we're going to go with the business side of things.
- 1:28:56I think from here on out. I just because of personal
- 1:29:00things and personal things getting crazy, I'm going to
- 1:29:02stick to all of my links being on my business page.
- 1:29:05So you can find me on Facebook at witchcrafts by Lily or
- 1:29:08fighting with fashion on Facebook and Instagram.
- 1:29:12Witchcrafts by Lily TikTok is witchcrafts by Lily 13 all one
- 1:29:16word and or you can find me on, you know, a bunch of Abjs
- 1:29:21podcasts I pop in frequently. We do Blazing Buds together and
- 1:29:25you know, reviews here and there so.
- 1:29:27Yeah, a lot of recent content she's been joining me on I, I'm
- 1:29:31not saying I'm kicking her off or you're not going to see it
- 1:29:33all the time, but there is sometimes where I do want to
- 1:29:35stand on my own as a content creator.
- 1:29:37I do like vibing off of her and talking to her and chatting with
- 1:29:39her and I love having her a part of it.
- 1:29:41But there may be sometimes where maybe they're not on camera.
- 1:29:43I don't think anything weird of it.
- 1:29:44It's just I still want to stand on my own as a solo person, but
- 1:29:48a lot of the stuff you're going to see, we will be with Lily
- 1:29:50because we're always together and we we are exploring this art
- 1:29:53together. The next album is something that
- 1:29:55was picked out. I picked out Chapel Roll, Chapel
- 1:29:58Roll. That's that was Chapel Roan.
- 1:30:00That was something I picked out. The next one we're going to be
- 1:30:02reviewing album wise is going to be the search by NF.
- 1:30:06It has been requested by a lot of people to me that I should
- 1:30:09listen to NF, that I would like him, that I would be into it.
- 1:30:13So we're. Taking a little bit of a turn
- 1:30:15here from Chapel Roan to NF. So this is something Lily
- 1:30:18picked. That's going to be the next
- 1:30:19album review we're going to do. If you see us wearing the same
- 1:30:22clothes, it's because we did it the same day.
- 1:30:23A lot of content, a lot of. We don't have a lot of free time
- 1:30:26and especially with weekends coming up, we were actually not
- 1:30:28supposed to even be home this weekend.
- 1:30:31But you know, cancels and changings and financials and
- 1:30:35money, which is all changing soon with our jobs and stuff,
- 1:30:37which is exciting. But this is like that kind of
- 1:30:39first weekend where we maybe shot ourselves a little too far
- 1:30:42ahead before we could of saying we're going to go to a city and
- 1:30:44go do our thing. The car is not the greatest
- 1:30:46right now. We're trying to really, really
- 1:30:49be careful and we are slowly doing a trip in two weeks to
- 1:30:52Philly. So maybe not doing 2 trips
- 1:30:54back-to-back when smarter. And we just kind of played it
- 1:30:57off. We're bummed that we did miss,
- 1:30:59you know, great shows and great events, but I think was for the
- 1:31:02best this time around until we get more on our feet.
- 1:31:05But a lot of content will be coming.
- 1:31:06Thank you guys so much. But we clam.
- 1:31:08We try to clamorate clam a bunch in one day and then have it
- 1:31:11spaced out throughout the month. So we have like a day we just
- 1:31:14sit down and consume a bunch of stuff, which I think it's fun.
- 1:31:16And we're going to do that today with music, 2 music albums and
- 1:31:20probably a couple movies because it's going to take a quick break
- 1:31:22here, then record the next. But it's like almost 2:00 and we
- 1:31:25still have a lot of daylight left and a lot of day people are
- 1:31:28hammering in the background. I hope you guys won't pick that
- 1:31:29up, but we'll see you on the next one.
- 1:31:31Not cool in high school. We're out of here.
