- 0:33Hamster with a blunt pen knife, we're doing quicker.
- 0:36Welcome back to a hamster with a blunt pen knife.
- 0:39We're still here. We're deep in the undergrowth
- 0:42screaming our heads off. And I'm Dylan Rees.
- 0:45And of course, I'm joined by Joe Ford.
- 0:48Joe Ford, how are you? You know, when you was younger,
- 0:51Yeah. Did your dad have a euphemism
- 0:53for like lady jungles? Lady.
- 0:59My dad used to call it a growler.
- 1:02That's quite a That's a nickname.
- 1:04That is. That is universal.
- 1:06Yeah, sorry, you just said we were so deep in in a.
- 1:09That's what the that. Came to me.
- 1:13A lady jungle. Yeah, that's why.
- 1:16You've never seen one, have you? No, there was this one time,
- 1:20right? Oh my God.
- 1:22I went down. Yeah, just one time.
- 1:24I did it. Yeah.
- 1:25And I was, I was moist afterwards.
- 1:28I think she has some sort of infection or something.
- 1:31Anyway, I'll never went there again.
- 1:34What a beautiful story. And we're also joined by Luke
- 1:39Malloy, who has apparently got a review to share with us that's
- 1:43not anyone's genitals. No, this is so Mark Campbell's
- 1:47Doctor episode guide. This is a very famous book, I
- 1:50think amongst Doctor Who fans. It's always ends up in the works
- 1:54for night in IMP OH. I've got that, my dad found it
- 1:57in the charity shop and sent it me.
- 1:59Yeah, it's got what you'd call the sort of stereotypical Doctor
- 2:05Who verdicts in reviews. So that definitely the ones from
- 2:09my 80s and 90s. So you your Graham Williams here
- 2:12is going to be shot on Hinchcliffe High.
- 2:16And McCoy, he gives Ghost Light 15% out of 100 do.
- 2:21You know what the most I remember the most surprising one
- 2:23in here? He gives Just Bear with two
- 2:27seconds. He gives the invasion about 12%
- 2:31out of 100. Like I'm like, what are you
- 2:33watching? OK, little little quiz for you.
- 2:36So this is the verdict. You can guess the episode though
- 2:40lifted wholesale from Sapphire and Steel.
- 2:43These are some very effective horror moments and the story is
- 2:47satisfyingly structured. 8 out of 10.
- 2:50It's a new series episode and it only goes up to The Runaway
- 2:54Bride this book. Sapphires.
- 2:56Oh, the idiot's Lantern. No.
- 2:59Oh. I can't remember anything about
- 3:03sapphire and still. Tell us, Luke.
- 3:06Fear her. And he goes like 15%.
- 3:11I mean, there it is if. I ever see this man, I'm going
- 3:13to slap him around the face. But anyway.
- 3:16Right behind you. He's with Marinus.
- 3:18This is this is the verdict from Campbell, which I think a lot of
- 3:22people took quite biblical back in the day.
- 3:24But here's the verdict. I think so.
- 3:27That's the. Cunts, aren't they?
- 3:29Survivor Guy. The series is first Turkey.
- 3:33This is a badly written, badly realised homage to old film
- 3:37serials with very shoddy production values.
- 3:40I can't really argue that there are effective moments, but not
- 3:44many. 3 out of 10. I'm going to all.
- 3:48The way off. I'm going to contrast.
- 3:50From Mark Campbell. With a review from Doc O Ho of
- 3:55Doc O Ho reviews because I'm so ashamed of this now.
- 4:00Is this docoho pre or post lady garden?
- 4:04This is post Lady Garden but pre Mark obviously seduced me to the
- 4:11ways of Keith and Marinus Android invasion and all those
- 4:14terrible stories. Mark who?
- 4:15Seduced you to the snows of terror.
- 4:19He's seduced me in many ways. Are you ready for this?
- 4:22The Keys of Baroness would have made a far better 4 parter since
- 4:25the 1st 2 episodes set up the story quite nicely.
- 4:28The last two episodes are the most interesting, but the middle
- 4:31episodes are over long, amateurish, and stretched the
- 4:34budget far beyond its limits. Oh it goes on a bit.
- 4:37I'll just skip to the end. Fun to watch as a hokey slice of
- 4:4160s nonsense, but lacking substance and sparkle and at
- 4:44times feels like it isn't taking itself entirely seriously. 5 out
- 4:49of 10. Oh, what a.
- 4:50Prick. I used to like that guy.
- 4:52Docko ho. More like Docko, no?
- 4:56He's right. He's so right.
- 4:58Although we're about to hit one of the middle episodes, so maybe
- 5:01we'll all be bored shitless. No so much jungle sort of
- 5:05frothing around Barbara in this. Let's go, shall we?
- 5:08In a lady jungle. This one is slower than the
- 5:11other two. Yeah, I'll agree.
- 5:13No, but think of it as an escape room, like I said.
- 5:16Yeah. But not everything, not
- 5:18everything has to be like packed with substance.
- 5:20Does it like think? Of it as an escape room.
- 5:22Who are you, Emily Cook? She's got a career.
- 5:28Let's go 321. Go.
- 5:33We mentioned it in the first one about about if Marius wasn't
- 5:38here, it would just unbalance the season because you don't
- 5:41have that almost palate cleanser, even though it's still
- 5:45doing stuff. I've just it's it's nice, it's
- 5:48clear, it's simple, it's fun. It's a nice halfway house.
- 5:52Can I ask when you guys see the titles of William Hartnell and
- 5:56it says Doc, oh ho do you think of me?
- 6:01Constantly, yes. I'm already thinking of you.
- 6:03I'm never not thinking of you. Because you're used to talking
- 6:07about books or something. Yeah, that's fair.
- 6:11Dylan's misses was like, will you shut that man up?
- 6:14You're here far too much for. That man's.
- 6:16Voice oh, Luke Malloy has been lost in the snows of terror.
- 6:21It's completely frozen. He's.
- 6:22Frozen. I'm back.
- 6:24Oh yeah, your face. Ain't.
- 6:26Moving. I know you.
- 6:27Are you're the froze for me? We thought you were stuck in a
- 6:30block of ice then. I was, I was about about the
- 6:36unbalance. I think I was thinking if you
- 6:38moved Terry the Zygons, the season 12 as it as it was meant
- 6:42to be and put hand to fear at the end of season 13 as it was I
- 6:46think meant to be. Look how weird season 13 is that
- 6:50suddenly it's just a bog standard season.
- 6:53Yeah. Oh, I see what you mean.
- 6:54Yeah, it's something about beginning and endings really add
- 6:57to a season anyway. But in this one, it's the middle
- 7:00of the season, right? That's where the gold.
- 7:02Is, and this is, I think if you put space babies in the middle
- 7:05of season 1, that's nowhere near as contentious.
- 7:08Just put it in the fucking bin mate.
- 7:10I shut up. Yeah, I have a fact.
- 7:13Again, I don't think this is on the commentary in front of me,
- 7:16but this is the first episode of Doctor Who ever to be broadcast
- 7:20on BBC One because when Doctor Who started there was only one
- 7:25channel called the BBC and BBC Two launched on this week.
- 7:29So this is the first Doctor Who episode.
- 7:31That is a genuinely great fact. I'll just say that the.
- 7:35Glory of the grill. I just glanced at my phone.
- 7:38I've got a text message from Rachel 5 minutes ago.
- 7:41Are you talking about My Lady Jungle on a podcast?
- 7:47No. I knew she'd be involved in one
- 7:50of these one day. Would she come and do a podcast
- 7:53with us? Maybe she wouldn't do it on
- 7:57black and white Doctor Who though, no.
- 8:00Would you be more embarrassed to show her this or scream with a
- 8:03shout car? I wouldn't be embarrassed to
- 8:09show her this. She just like it just wouldn't
- 8:12even go. It wouldn't even reach.
- 8:14You know, they're bullets in Dalek that just melt before they
- 8:17even hit that. That's what this would be.
- 8:19But what episode only? Oh no we get the first season
- 8:22move, the bullets melt, don't know.
- 8:23Then after that they just spark off.
- 8:25Yeah, it's like in the 1st in Rose, the Sonic scudge.
- 8:29I was a little blue Funnel, Yeah, rather than getting that.
- 8:32They realize they couldn't afford that effect.
- 8:35Looks good though. Do you remember for one story
- 8:37when the Cybermen could run really fast?
- 8:40Yeah, and that gets dropped halfway through that story.
- 8:45Terrible. Oh, poor Susan.
- 8:47Look, she's having a terrible day.
- 8:50She's on her hands and knees now though.
- 8:51Why don't leave me, Bob? Oh, look at those creepers
- 8:54moving seats of doom. If Susan and Barbara swap places
- 9:00in a couple of stories, Susan would just be dead and we'd all
- 9:02be happier. She's the most intolerable, I
- 9:05think, in The Reign of Terror, which is another Hartnell
- 9:08favorite of mine. But she is intolerable.
- 9:11In that, that bit in the cell where the wolf is coming in and
- 9:14Barbara's just going shut up, Susan, like, come on, let's dig.
- 9:18I for someone that's not big on historicals, I love the rate of
- 9:21terror, but it is partly due to Hartnell absolutely pumping
- 9:24someone with a shovel. Just what I was going to say, he
- 9:29goes. Are we coming back to do Reign
- 9:33of Terror in a few months time? Yes, of woah, let's do it.
- 9:39That kid who goes, excuse me, Monsieur, in the most cockney
- 9:43French accent you've. Ever heard?
- 9:45Is it the most accurate depiction of France ever been on
- 9:49screen? I think so are.
- 9:50Things as a model, yes. Do you know if this was Vicky,
- 9:55right, they wouldn't have to be looking after her like this, you
- 9:58know, she's cuddling Susan and stroking her arms and she's
- 10:02waiting like a. Badge.
- 10:03That's not Caroline Ford's fault.
- 10:05No, no, I know, I know. They got the characterisation
- 10:08wrong. Partly wrong.
- 10:11Like when Vicki comes along in her first story, I'm not talking
- 10:14about a rescue. Now she's like, come on, doctor,
- 10:16let's go to Rome. And then they find a bloody body
- 10:19down the street and she goes, oh, what conspiracy?
- 10:21How exciting that was, Susan, Can you imagine an awful body?
- 10:27Oh, what would we do? Susan a piss on her knickers
- 10:30when she found it, wouldn't she? She would.
- 10:33Oh look and have a bloody statue that moves.
- 10:36Yeah. Now I don't know whether you
- 10:38know this. And no production notes needed.
- 10:41Those are not stone hands there. Really.
- 10:45Do they have a bit of a grope like is, is there a scene hand
- 10:48being a little bit, you know? Inappropriate.
- 10:52It did get me to thinking, you know, that could have been the
- 10:54USP of the Weeping Angels. What the?
- 10:57They just grab people's asses. Yeah, it's a bit dodge, but you
- 11:04know, you, like you said, it's not the dodgiest thing in this
- 11:06story. No, absolutely not.
- 11:08As they're trying to sort of figure out what they can and
- 11:11cannot do, and gropie statues is a no.
- 11:15I mean Barbara. 'S sort of gropes the statue
- 11:19rather than the FRA round. The hands belong to someone
- 11:22called Ben Bob Hadlow, who was an extra, not a stagehand.
- 11:28He was getting his fate that day, wasn't it age?
- 11:30Hands. Oh, Bob had her.
- 11:33Look at it. And so she has to climb up
- 11:37because they realised that she the hands wouldn't reach around
- 11:40her if she was stood on the floor.
- 11:41She was supposed to be on the floor.
- 11:43Well, they'd reach somewhere, but.
- 11:45Do you remember Dylan? You're not pulling someone
- 11:48around by the tips. You're you're far too young to
- 11:51remember this, But Dylan, you might remember this.
- 11:53Do you remember when Sky TV did that Doctor Who weekend?
- 11:57Yes, you mean BBC choice? Oh no BS.
- 12:02BBSB and they were doing like ad adverts of Doctor Who's stories
- 12:06was like funky disco music over it and lots of black and white
- 12:09clips and Barbara going help me. It was so desperate to watch
- 12:15those sort of wait. But I begged her please will you
- 12:17go out and buy Avhs Player and I got one as well.
- 12:21So have you seen the whole weekend?
- 12:22I've never seen the whole thing. I had to take loads of it.
- 12:25Yeah, I think I've still got the cassette somewhere.
- 12:27I'll dig them out. Oh, excellent.
- 12:29Come into too hot for TV near you?
- 12:3214 hours worth of commentary. Wonderful.
- 12:36I, I love the, the structure of Marinister.
- 12:41I like how people pop in and out like the doctors.
- 12:44The doctors are going to go, these are about to pop on to
- 12:46next week. The pop in that it is structured
- 12:48like flux, and it is. It does feel like quite a modern
- 12:52thing to do, but this is 19. 64 fucks off for the middle of the
- 12:56season, just like Shooty Gatler does in his first season.
- 13:00But like the different location everywhere, people join in,
- 13:03popping back in, leaving, I mean.
- 13:06It is great, but. It is fluxy and it is just feel
- 13:09modern I think. I think making it so simple, the
- 13:14quest to making it clear and simple does help over say the
- 13:18flux thing of just being wildly like flux is ambitious.
- 13:25I'll give it that. But if it had a clear simple
- 13:28questi thing, it might help all these other bits that are flying
- 13:32in and out of it because. I don't think a clear, simple
- 13:35quest necessarily works on television.
- 13:37Maybe not the modern, I definitely like the idea of
- 13:40people popping in and out on different locations every week,
- 13:45but it'll all be in part the same thing.
- 13:48Although in terms of sort of motivation and friendship, Luke
- 13:52say Dylan had just gone into, you know, got on top of that
- 13:57statue and it had grabbed hold of his sumptuous ass and he was
- 14:00away in that wall. Yeah, screaming his head off.
- 14:03And then you turn around to me and said, well, I'm going to go
- 14:05off to the next area now. All right.
- 14:07I'll leave you to deal with this.
- 14:08I don't think Dylan would be too happy with you.
- 14:11Yeah, it's true. It is quite strange that they
- 14:13all go, especially when they when they find out this is not
- 14:16the right key now and then he's like, just go on, I'll sort this
- 14:20out. That is quite strange.
- 14:22That had to be done at some point, didn't it?
- 14:24Fake key, yeah. But when I was in Old born and
- 14:27that fake Nick Briggs, the last is Andrew my I didn't see
- 14:31usually to the rescue. Oh, Joe's choking.
- 14:40It was so funny, that's why. Let me let me repeat fake Nick
- 14:43Briggs. I have never seen Luke look so
- 14:46more scared ever. Oh, thank you.
- 14:50Can you not do that when I'm drinking, please?
- 14:54Where are we going? Something.
- 14:56We've been to Old Born. Where's our next meter?
- 14:58It's a shame there's no Mariners really for us to go to, no.
- 15:02Time Warrior castle. Time Warrior Castle.
- 15:06We could always find a lady jungle for you to visit, Jeff.
- 15:09Yes, please. I'd like to go to the stone
- 15:11circle from the Stones of Blood. Yeah, that'd be good to know.
- 15:15The the the what? You call it like the mill from
- 15:22Mark of the Irani or Ultimate Foe.
- 15:24One or the other. But the one by Ultimate Foe?
- 15:26That's right, by Mikey Smith's house.
- 15:27Oh. There we go.
- 15:30Oh, Mikey. Hi.
- 15:31Yeah. Did you, did you notice how that
- 15:35stagehand or extra it still didn't say it did?
- 15:38Not grab. Ian's also his hands were a lot
- 15:41lower. And look at this knight in
- 15:45shining armour, the statue that's about to try and twat
- 15:48Ian. That looks like a person as
- 15:49well. Are these androids saying what
- 15:51are they? No, I think it's just a trap.
- 15:54Or maybe it's a Gundam robot. It is that they're traps to to
- 15:59stop forward getting in. I would say that this episode,
- 16:04no, not the next one that's got the attempted rape in it, but
- 16:07this episode especially is absolutely geared for kids.
- 16:11Yeah, for kids to be going all the way in behind you, you know,
- 16:14like a panto. It's also like it's doing this,
- 16:20the sea to doom thing that the triffids thing, you know, it's
- 16:24creepy, creepy plants and stuff like that.
- 16:26It's quite a classic sci-fi tale.
- 16:29They do it in Out of the Unknown as well.
- 16:30You mean aggressive rhubarb Dylan?
- 16:33Yes, quite. Poseidal gooseberries.
- 16:35Oh exactly. That's what I call my balls.
- 16:40Oh, I love big balls. Oh, please move us on.
- 16:45I think this is the point where Ian being a kimono starts to get
- 16:48really funny. Does he take it off before the
- 16:51end of the story? I.
- 16:53Don't think he does. What's after this?
- 16:57Is it the Aztecs? Yeah.
- 16:59Oh, he wears some fabulous clothes and that's a huge helmet
- 17:02he's got with the feathers on him.
- 17:04William Russell's huge helmet. Do not go in that door.
- 17:08No good will come of you going in that door, all right?
- 17:14And every. The whole set wobbles as he hits
- 17:17that door. Yeah, yeah, the the Roman column
- 17:19just wobbled there. Well, exactly.
- 17:21Do you feel it's like escape rooms?
- 17:23Have you ever done any? I've never done one but it
- 17:25doesn't feel like something I'd like.
- 17:27I did the Time Lord Victorious 1, you know, the one with the
- 17:29Dalek in the spaceship. So fucking boring honestly.
- 17:34I did my best to escape Time Lord Victorious in general so.
- 17:38It was the only. Time I collected all of it.
- 17:41I ever saw Mark angry like you. Can you ever imagine Mark being
- 17:44angry? He was properly angry in there
- 17:46because he didn't think they were adequate instructions for
- 17:49each of the puzzles. All cat weasels just shown up.
- 17:55Go on I. Was going.
- 17:57To say I haven't done an escape room but I did do the Crystal
- 17:59Maze like the the interactive experience.
- 18:03That you get to go in the big Dome at the end with all the
- 18:06gold and silver tokens. Is that, is that where Peter
- 18:09Purvis and more, you know, Brian are going next?
- 18:12No, I think that I'd probably finish them off.
- 18:15How badly does Peter Purvis come across in that?
- 18:18I turned it. On hanker sexist old man he
- 18:21comes across as. Yeah, I mean, that's him.
- 18:24Oh, Barbara's been killed by a net.
- 18:26That's a net, not. Somebody called the net.
- 18:29Oh, look at this. Cheap.
- 18:30Spikes. When when Darius turns.
- 18:35Up BBP now to me. When Darius turns up, my first
- 18:39thought is is just that sort of who the fuck's that?
- 18:42And it does sort of make you sit up.
- 18:44I don't know, like you're just not expecting anyone to be in
- 18:46this jungle. All the traps Ian's behind bars
- 18:49now as well. Loads of knives are descending
- 18:53from the ceiling. The plants are alive.
- 18:55This is high octane action. These are so wobbly.
- 18:59Look at these. Yeah, these are.
- 19:01These are. They look like they're
- 19:03descending to give her a right good tickling still.
- 19:07Be it. Oh dear.
- 19:10Here he comes. That's it.
- 19:11Bend those bars, Ian. You're a true hero.
- 19:13But he's trying really hard not to bend the bars because they.
- 19:16I don't think that those spikes go much longer.
- 19:19That's why they're going down so slowly.
- 19:23They're a bit like this sort of thing.
- 19:24He's sick in a snowman for arms, aren't they?
- 19:26Yeah. What I think you'll pick out
- 19:28mate from our teeth with you know they.
- 19:34Are no wobble enough? Again, on board watch, this guy
- 19:37says that he suspects Barbara of being a board, so they must look
- 19:42like. So who is this man?
- 19:44Darius. Bit more, bit more.
- 19:50That's why when he said that I was, I didn't realise he was in
- 19:52this. But.
- 19:55Has he been sent by Arbitan as well?
- 19:58Now do you know who that is though?
- 20:01Tell us. Peter Cushion.
- 20:03It's Edmund Moric. It's not barely imperceptible
- 20:08from the real thing. He does look like Cat Weasel
- 20:13though, doesn't he? He wears robes similar to those
- 20:16of Arbitan or whatever it's called.
- 20:20Does he not have a washing machine?
- 20:22Those robes are filthy. He's a dirty, stinky old man.
- 20:25Imagine what his knobs like. Oh yeah.
- 20:28OK, so Arbitan has sent him. How many people has he sent to
- 20:32his to their deaths? Loads, apparently, yeah.
- 20:38Just think of all the people that didn't make it.
- 20:41Yeah, Oh dear, that bar. Yes, this is.
- 20:44This may be. The cheapest episode as well.
- 20:46Yeah, or Darius has been. Strangled by the plants now.
- 20:51And I don't think he likes it. It's he's not going out like
- 20:53Michael. Hutchins auto asphyxiation,
- 20:57yeah, I can't imagine how that would ever be pleasurable.
- 21:02Help him for. Say come out of mine, I'll show
- 21:07you. You look like a good strong man,
- 21:11you know. I use my Tom Baker scarf Ian
- 21:16needs. To be careful.
- 21:17Did you see him cutting that vine with that he nearly he?
- 21:20Nearly cut his ear off. He wouldn't care.
- 21:22Yeah, that's true. No, but Darius was almost doing
- 21:25a van golfing for a second. Is his name really Darius?
- 21:29Yeah, don't hurt Darius, OK? Now he dies in a second because
- 21:34he. I was forgotten, yeah.
- 21:36And then with his dying, I don't.
- 21:38Remember any of this? With his dying breath, he says
- 21:40like DE 3. Rather than go in that jar over
- 21:45there. Yeah, it's like that dreadful
- 21:50Blake Seven episode, I know if it could be any one of them, but
- 21:53where the woman spells out in blood the name Sara.
- 21:59Yeah, because she's trying to identify the the person who's
- 22:02killing people, but they go 545 S or something like that.
- 22:08They think it's a code for. It's just terrible, this shit.
- 22:10Still goes on though. Have you ever seen The Batman
- 22:14with Robert Patterson? No.
- 22:17The Riddler is putting out all these riddles that are the most
- 22:19basic riddles and everyone's going.
- 22:21I just don't know what that means.
- 22:22We're all going to die and I don't know.
- 22:23And they're the most Googleable answers to any riddles.
- 22:26It's like everyone's going. It's a fucking bat, you idiot.
- 22:29It's like, I don't know why people.
- 22:31All the Doctor just writing birds into the sand in the
- 22:36greatest episode of all time. Yeah, no, that's this.
- 22:41To be. Fair though Darius and Ian and
- 22:46Barbara didn't have Google so that's try and figure this out
- 22:48between them you know? That's very true, but Edmund
- 22:50Warwick could have said it's that jar over there but the one.
- 22:55Oh, Dylan is is totally serious. He's deadly serious.
- 22:58Did you? Just see how how Darius died.
- 23:00He just sort of gently lowered himself down and shut his eyes.
- 23:04It's kind of how I'd like to go, especially with Ian and Barbara
- 23:07cradling me. Dying in the arms of Ian and
- 23:12Babs. There's there's only certain
- 23:14people I'm happy to spend an episode with when the doctor's
- 23:17not in it. He got Ian and Barbara, Elton,
- 23:20Pope and and Lindy. Pepper, I thought you were going
- 23:24to say else. Then I thought you were leading
- 23:26up to a compliment. No.
- 23:30I I only really like BBV so I'm all about doctor stories without
- 23:33the doctor in them. Yeah.
- 23:36Or sort of fake Poundland doctors.
- 23:38Yeah, yeah, yeah. Wish.com.
- 23:41Doctor Who. That's right.
- 23:42And there those are coming to a hamster near you, you know?
- 23:46Oh yeah, this is some crazy logic, you know, to it's like
- 23:50D3O2. So that means turn it three
- 23:52times and then. Fucking science teacher.
- 23:56Could he not figure out it was one of these formulas on the on
- 24:00the? You know, I've got a degree in
- 24:02science. I've never heard of DE3O2.
- 24:05I'm not sure my mind. Science.
- 24:09Yes, you kept that under a rock, didn't you?
- 24:12He's mentioned it like a triangular rock.
- 24:15OK. No daily chance get a bit back
- 24:18on me because it was because it was panopticon jokes.
- 24:21Who wants to use this? I could.
- 24:23I could feel it, no. Never.
- 24:24I would never try and get a bit back on you.
- 24:26I'm above you. Oh, let's be honest, we've all
- 24:30got running jokes on each other. That's true.
- 24:34One more person mentions my fucking editing, all right?
- 24:39Oh, welcome back to. OK, now let's look in the books.
- 24:43OK, maybe this is a little devoid of instant.
- 24:46This. This, Yeah, this one is slower
- 24:48than the other two. It's probably the worst of the
- 24:50six, I would say. Probably the best of the six.
- 24:53But it looks good, you know what I mean?
- 24:55Like it's still visually interesting.
- 24:58And Ian and Barbara are doing their best to sell it, you know,
- 25:01and keep us interested. And you're getting a different
- 25:03monster every week. So you've had you've had bored
- 25:06no brains and jars, plants, plants.
- 25:09You get robot things next week. The lush, aggressive vegetation
- 25:13starts coming through those slats in a minute.
- 25:15I think it looks rather good, actually.
- 25:17Yeah, it feels, it feels claustrophobic.
- 25:19No, you did a good. Job.
- 25:22The trouble is they're sort of waiting it out now, aren't they,
- 25:24until their plants attack. Oh, he just said look, if you
- 25:27could just speed up everything. Yes, please.
- 25:32Oh, to be fair, there's only two minutes left again, so they the
- 25:35plants will have to attack. Them just like smashing
- 25:37everywhere trying to find it. That's my approach, Yeah.
- 25:42There's only like 10 things in that room.
- 25:47You think about that done, couldn't they?
- 25:4924 hours? That's done.
- 25:51But if things start coming down from the singly and I can't
- 25:53remember, I just remember. It's really funny.
- 25:58OK, Looking through books. Yeah.
- 26:01Barbara's yawning. This was after lunch.
- 26:08It's no wonder it feels sort of pacey when Hardell comes back.
- 26:13But you can tell how does that two weeks off holiday.
- 26:16Yeah, it is just I'm back, baby. Basically, what's that you think
- 26:20you're good enough for this show?
- 26:21It's mine, baby. It's great.
- 26:25That must be what Susan Hirsch what's causing it?
- 26:28Come on now. Bring on the plants.
- 26:30Bring on the plants. Barbara does have a fabulous
- 26:35bouffant haircut, doesn't she? Obvious to say, but oh, here we
- 26:41go. Great cardies, great hair.
- 26:43Look at that front. Oh, that looks like a rotto.
- 26:49It just hasn't trimmed. Trimmed this year.
- 26:51Do you imagine this is all on poles and strings?
- 26:54I think that was someone's hand. Not a game, was it?
- 26:58Was it Ben or Bob? Whatever he's got.
- 27:01Bob yeah, getting his money's worth.
- 27:03Coming after Babs for another thing.
- 27:05Shit in hell, those plants are smashing that place to pieces.
- 27:09Yeah, look, Jesus Christ. They are smashing Darius's back.
- 27:14Doors and there's Bob. No, no.
- 27:16It's around her legs. It's astonishing, you know, when
- 27:18you're in a situation of extreme peril, the house, suddenly the
- 27:21clues that you've been given all kind of come to short focus and
- 27:24you get the solution. My God, it must have been.
- 27:28They were talking about a formula.
- 27:29Do her do the trousers have elastic bits that go around
- 27:32their feet? I'm not sure.
- 27:36That's what I just noticed. Have we learned something there?
- 27:40Have we actually learned a bit of science?
- 27:42I don't think definitely. I feel like the the theatre is
- 27:47not. Please put that degree of yours
- 27:48to good use. You do get a bit of education in
- 27:51Episode 1 where they approach the temple because, you know,
- 27:54the original remit and they sort of go, Ian goes, oh, I wonder
- 27:58how they built it. And then they start talking
- 27:59about how the Egyptians built things and.
- 28:03I just don't think DE3O2 is a real thing.
- 28:06Maybe it's John Gori's post code.
- 28:09John Summer Gori. That was the sort of clue that
- 28:12was in that time. Lord Victorious.
- 28:15Of course. GE3O2 you just carry it doesn't
- 28:18make any sense. And here we are.
- 28:20It's not. It's not.
- 28:22Styrene's phone. The snows of terror.
- 28:25This is very strange, isn't it? Like they instantly arrive and
- 28:28then it's just, oh, I'm so cold I can't move, I'm just going to
- 28:32die. Have you ever stood in a
- 28:34Blizzard in just that tiny little jump bar?
- 28:37They've. Got shoes on?
- 28:38But neither of them. I think I think I would move a
- 28:41bit. Yeah, I'll be like, we should
- 28:43really find somewhere right now. Yeah, it's that Ice Warriors
- 28:47music as well that just comes in right at the end.
- 28:50It sounds very similar but I think every 60s thing that had
- 28:55the tundra in always used like. Do you know what though?
- 29:00Right, That's the. Sound of ice.
- 29:01Episodes 1-2 and three all got 9 billion viewers.
- 29:05No one ducked out of the first 3 episodes, and then 40 got 10
- 29:10million. More people came for the rape.
- 29:18I'm surprised Doctor Who didn't do more of this afterwards.
- 29:20They're like, well, that's what. This is what?
- 29:22People did. Did you watch the Ty Meddler?
- 29:25Yeah. Poor old Enid.
- 29:27He did. He did whatever.
- 29:30Mark's favorite? Oh boy, boys.
- 29:33Well, that's three down. There's three to go that.
- 29:37Honestly flew by it. Does, doesn't it?
- 29:40I could watch him again. I'm not sure about episode 3.
- 29:45I don't want to watch that one again too though I think is
- 29:49absolutely glorious. But actually now I'm
- 29:53reconsidering and I think maybe 5 and 6 might be my favorite
- 29:56because Lady Painful turns up at the end of the story.
- 29:58Doesn't. She Yeah.
- 29:59She's an evil bitch in this too. I never knew that was her.
- 30:03Nice. Never say Fiona Walker's
- 30:05typecast. She is.
- 30:07I wouldn't. She's denied.
- 30:11I'm not sure. Is she going to turn up in the
- 30:1375th anniversary? I'll find out.
- 30:16She was there at the start, she was there at the 25th.
- 30:18Did she do anything at the 50th? She might have been under one of
- 30:21the clothes in the under gallery.
- 30:25I mean, we didn't know it was definitely Colin Sylvester and
- 30:29Peter Davison inside those monster costumes in Reboot, did
- 30:33we? Well, we definitely know.
- 30:35Oh. No, that's why I'm asking you
- 30:37do. What I don't know they.
- 30:39Said it. They said it wasn't them in the
- 30:42in the thing. And who's Doctor Phil?
- 30:47Fiona Walker's still alive but she's aged 80 so I don't know
- 30:49whether she's making the 75th anniversary.
- 30:52But who would she play like another aged harridan, the.
- 30:57Time that's. She could have been Tectayoun.
- 31:03She could have, but then, you know, would have been robbed of
- 31:07That's true. Any thoughts on Tecton Luke?
- 31:12Who's that I'll? Cut it, I'll cut it there.
