- 0:15SPEAKER_01: What's going on, big ballers?
- 0:17SPEAKER_01: It's your boy MJG coming at you with another episode of the Fantasy Fumble.
- 0:22SPEAKER_01: Today, we are coming at you with the first week of football finally behind us.
- 0:28SPEAKER_01: Man, was it exciting?
- 0:30SPEAKER_01: Uh, we had a lot of action and also a lot of injuries, uh, which we do expect in fantasy.
- 0:36SPEAKER_01: Do we expect it the first week?
- 0:38SPEAKER_01: Not so much, but hey, you gotta adapt and you gotta move on and hit that free agency uh waiver wire.
- 0:45SPEAKER_01: And Joe, uh, how the hell are you doing today, brother?
- 0:48SPEAKER_01: How was your week?
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: Not a bad week.
- 0:51SPEAKER_00: Great to just be sitting back on the couch watching football.
- 0:55SPEAKER_00: Um, I actually let my son choose one of my fantasy teams this year and they're doing really well, so he's excited about that, watching football together.
- 1:04SPEAKER_00: I went three and three.
- 1:05SPEAKER_00: I'm in six leagues.
- 1:06SPEAKER_00: I went three and three, but going into Monday night, I everything was up in the air.
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: I thought I was gonna go 0-6, and Monday night really turned things around.
- 1:18SPEAKER_00: And in one of those leagues, I had McCaffrey, but luckily I had Jordan Mason.
- 1:21SPEAKER_00: But yeah, good good finish, rough start, but good finish.
- 1:25SPEAKER_00: I was really happy to go three and three, um, just because it was not looking good.
- 1:30SPEAKER_01: I think that losing isn't so bad in the first few weeks, guys, because obviously you get to get first priority on that waiver wire, right?
- 1:39SPEAKER_01: So if you were somebody that was hurting at tight end, you know, you had the opportunity to probably pick up, you know, some pretty key players, right?
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I mean, you know, I saw you grabbed Isaiah Likely, and uh, you know, everyone was looking for him, so that was a good move.
- 1:55SPEAKER_01: There's another tight end, too, Colby Parkinson, uh, for the Rams.
- 1:59SPEAKER_01: He looked like he was getting a really good uh workload over there.
- 2:03SPEAKER_01: I think he was five for seven.
- 2:04SPEAKER_01: Um, so he was getting some targets.
- 2:06SPEAKER_01: And when when I actually watched the game, he actually looked pretty fluid and um some good route running out there.
- 2:13SPEAKER_01: So I could see him running the Tyler Higbee role in the Rams offense.
- 2:17SPEAKER_00: There it was, as you just said, a lot going on in week one.
- 2:21SPEAKER_00: So I'm gonna run through some news and notes, some injury updates, and then some possible waiver ads.
- 2:35SPEAKER_00: Now we're gonna kick things off with running back.
- 2:38SPEAKER_00: Obviously, everyone knows that Christian McCaffrey was a last-minute scratch on Monday night.
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: Really disrupted a lot of things for a lot of people, and it's not looking good for this week either.
- 2:52SPEAKER_00: Uh right now they're talking about not just a calf strain, but an Achilles strain.
- 2:59SPEAKER_00: Some kind of soreness in his Achilles, some kind of a tendonitis that's probably gonna keep him out of week two.
- 3:07SPEAKER_00: So hopefully you have Jordan Mason or another option.
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: Um a lot of questions right now about Christian McCaffrey if this is serious or not, but plan accordingly.
- 3:19SPEAKER_00: Miami Dolphins running back, Sraheem Most has been ruled out for week two.
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: And Devon Achan, his ankle, I believe it's a a mild ankle sprain, but right now they're treating it as a game time decision against Buffalo.
- 3:37SPEAKER_00: And we we were talking before we started rolling about Jeff Wilson or Jalen Wright.
- 3:43SPEAKER_00: Who's who's the right choice there?
- 3:44SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 3:45SPEAKER_00: I believe there's a lot to be seen from Jalen Wright, but people are talking about him big time.
- 3:51SPEAKER_00: There's a lot of buzz around Jalen Wright.
- 3:53SPEAKER_00: So when I had the option, I grabbed Jalen Wright in a couple leagues.
- 3:58SPEAKER_00: A lot of people, he was already on their radar, so they already had him rostered.
- 4:02SPEAKER_00: Um, but I know you grabbed Jeff Wilson Jr.
- 4:04SPEAKER_00: So, you know, that's that's yet to be seen about who's gonna be the better play if Devon Achan does not suit up this week.
- 4:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I think I think for that uh situation, so uh I think anybody for Jalen Wright, he was on anybody's radar who ended up picking a Miami running back.
- 4:24SPEAKER_01: Because if you pick Raheem Oster or Devin Achan, you needed to handcuff him, right?
- 4:29SPEAKER_01: And Jalen Wright was a logical choice for that.
- 4:33SPEAKER_01: But watching like the uh parts of the Miami game, I don't know if I watched the full thing because obviously it was uh NFL red zone, right?
- 4:40SPEAKER_01: So you're not gonna see the whole thing.
- 4:41SPEAKER_01: Um, but watching that there, um I was able to see some pretty good drives from them.
- 4:48SPEAKER_01: And Jeff Wilson came out there and he had a couple really big runs, and that reminded me of the Jeff Wilson that has fresh legs.
- 4:54SPEAKER_01: So when Jeff Wilson comes out, he's fresh for a couple games and then he starts to wear down and then he breaks breaks down, right?
- 5:01SPEAKER_01: So I I think as far as long-term play, obviously Jalen Wright's your pickup all day long.
- 5:06SPEAKER_01: He should not even be on your waiver wire period.
- 5:10SPEAKER_01: Uh, but if you're looking for uh a spot start for the next game, maybe two, Jeff Wilson wouldn't be a bad flex.
- 5:18SPEAKER_00: And and that's a perfect way to put it, is that it it really feels like that is pretty much his MO is Jeff Wilson will have a couple awesome games, like very impressive games, and then it's just like the wheels fall off and you have to make an adjustment.
- 5:32SPEAKER_00: But you're you're right, that's the way it's always been when he was on the Niners, it was the same story.
- 5:37SPEAKER_00: And I completely agree that if you're just looking for a couple weeks, and I am real the leagues where I have Jalen Wright, I'm very deep at running back, so he is more of a bench stash.
- 5:51SPEAKER_00: But if you just need someone to fill in for a couple weeks, the better move probably is Jeff Wilson.
- 5:56SPEAKER_00: Uh, one last running back to keep an eye on.
- 6:00SPEAKER_00: You and I both haven't rostered in a couple leagues is Kenneth Walker.
- 6:06SPEAKER_00: There's um a lot of uncertainty going into week two, and he looks like a game time decision, too.
- 6:12SPEAKER_00: If he does play, he's clearly going to be limited.
- 6:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah, hopefully you got Char Renee uh when you first did the draft because he was on most people's radar.
- 6:22SPEAKER_01: And when Charbonnay took over late in this last game, too, he had actually a pretty good performance.
- 6:27SPEAKER_01: So, and he's always looked good when he does play.
- 6:30SPEAKER_01: So um if he if he's playing another spot start, boom, you're getting, but you're actually getting a full workload out of a charbonet.
- 6:38SPEAKER_01: You're not getting a 15-point game.
- 6:39SPEAKER_01: I'm I'm thinking like a 20 to 25 point game uh from him in a PPR league because he could catch out of the backfield as well.
- 6:49SPEAKER_00: Now, at wide receiver, Jordan Addison did not practice.
- 6:53SPEAKER_00: If he does play, he will definitely be limited.
- 6:56SPEAKER_00: I wouldn't start him in any format.
- 6:59SPEAKER_00: T Higgins did not practice, don't expect him to play this week.
- 7:03SPEAKER_00: Now, two Chicago Bears.
- 7:05SPEAKER_00: So there's the chances are DJ Moore is gonna have a big day.
- 7:09SPEAKER_00: But Keenan Allen did not practice, keep an eye on that, plan accordingly.
- 7:13SPEAKER_00: And Rome Adunzi uh with the knee injury did not practice either.
- 7:19SPEAKER_00: He shouldn't be in your lineup either way, not right now.
- 7:22SPEAKER_00: So, again, could be a big day for DJ Moore, uh, yet to be seen what happens with Keenan.
- 7:28SPEAKER_00: Um, but I I expect him to actually play and just be limited.
- 7:32SPEAKER_00: But that's the thing with Keenan Island, he goes into every week.
- 7:35SPEAKER_00: That's for his entire career, he goes into every week with a Q next to his name, and he just comes out, plays like a monster.
- 7:43SPEAKER_00: So you never put anything past him.
- 7:46SPEAKER_00: Uh Marquise Brown, he was trending towards playing earlier this week, but uh probably not going to.
- 7:54SPEAKER_00: And uh if he does play, he's not gonna do anything for you.
- 7:57SPEAKER_00: So he's not in your lineup.
- 8:00SPEAKER_01: No, play Xavier Worthy, guys.
- 8:02SPEAKER_01: Oh, for sure.
- 8:05SPEAKER_00: Now a tight end, man, what a shit show.
- 8:09SPEAKER_00: Jake Ferguson did not practice today, but he is expected to play.
- 8:13SPEAKER_00: Now it it's real hard to say.
- 8:16SPEAKER_00: I mean, that that injury actually looked worse than it was, but if he is gonna play, he'll he'll probably be limited or on a snap count.
- 8:25SPEAKER_00: But at tight end, what are you gonna do?
- 8:28SPEAKER_00: You know, if if he's your only option, you kind of have to play him.
- 8:32SPEAKER_00: Uh David Njoku ruled out for week two.
- 8:35SPEAKER_00: Not sure how long he's gonna be out, but that sucks because he was like the only good part of that offense right now.
- 8:41SPEAKER_00: At least Amari Cooper hasn't really done much yet.
- 8:44SPEAKER_00: Dalton Schultz did not practice today, Wednesday.
- 8:48SPEAKER_00: We're we're recording on Wednesday for Thursday.
- 8:51SPEAKER_00: But again, I I don't know what to tell you because there's so there's so few options at tight end.
- 8:58SPEAKER_00: I don't really know what to tell you to do.
- 8:59SPEAKER_00: If right now he's questionable, I guess have a backup plan, but but what's your backup?
- 9:04SPEAKER_00: You know a quarterback, Jordan Love, gonna be out for a few weeks.
- 9:10SPEAKER_00: And with that situation, I would say you can lean heavily on Josh Jacobs.
- 9:18SPEAKER_00: You are going to expect Green Bay to do nothing but run the ball.
- 9:22SPEAKER_00: And if you do have Josh Jacobs, you're gonna probably have a big day with him.
- 9:27SPEAKER_00: But I would stay away from every Green Bay receiver because without Jordan Love, who knows what to expect?
- 9:34SPEAKER_00: I understand that Jaden Reed had an unbelievable or Jordan Reed had an un or is it Jaden?
- 9:40SPEAKER_00: Jaden Reed.
- 9:40SPEAKER_00: It is Jaden.
- 9:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah, right.
- 9:42SPEAKER_00: Jaden Reed had an unbelievable week, but completely different quarterback, completely different game now.
- 9:49SPEAKER_00: You can't rely on him.
- 9:51SPEAKER_00: Even if Jordan Love was playing, you can't expect that again.
- 9:54SPEAKER_00: But um I would you know have my fingers crossed for double digits from any of the Green Bay receivers at this point until Jordan Love gets back.
- 10:04SPEAKER_00: Now that wraps up our news and notes, and we're gonna get into our hot matchups, cold calls, big balls calls, and of course the shit calls.
- 10:13SPEAKER_00: But first, a word from our sponsor.
- 10:16SPEAKER_01: Hey there.
- 10:17SPEAKER_01: My name is Manny James Gonzalez with PRB, and I'm a real estate agent here in Central Florida.
- 10:23SPEAKER_01: I'm a U.S.
- 10:23SPEAKER_01: Navy veteran, military relocation pro, and big supporter of 2A and veterans' rights.
- 10:29SPEAKER_01: My specialty is VA transactions.
- 10:32SPEAKER_01: I'm also experiencing all parts of real estate.
- 10:37SPEAKER_01: I've been living in Florida for over 20 years, and I can tell you we still believe in freedom down here.
- 10:43SPEAKER_01: One of the greatest job markets, excellent economy, and no state income tax.
- 10:48SPEAKER_01: When it comes to an agent, you want one that's gonna be honest, not afraid of a fight, and most importantly, you're willing to do the things that some agents aren't willing to do.
- 10:57SPEAKER_01: And what's that, Manny?
- 10:59SPEAKER_01: Chew straight, Dan.
- 11:05SPEAKER_01: If you ever consider buying in Central Florida, you need somebody you can trust, and I got your six.
- 11:10SPEAKER_01: I'm Manny James Gonzalez.
- 11:12SPEAKER_01: Find land for the free and home for the brave.
- 11:21SPEAKER_01: Oof, it's getting hot in here.
- 11:23SPEAKER_01: It's time for today's hot matchups of the week.
- 11:29SPEAKER_01: Right for my hot matchup, I ended up going with the Rams versus the Cardinals this weekend.
- 11:39SPEAKER_01: It's a divisional game.
- 11:41SPEAKER_01: It's in Arizona.
- 11:42SPEAKER_01: It's gonna be good weather.
- 11:44SPEAKER_01: Um, both have really good offenses.
- 11:46SPEAKER_01: Last week the Cardinals struggled a little bit on offense.
- 11:49SPEAKER_01: I I don't think the Rams' defense is that that great this year without Aaron Donald.
- 11:54SPEAKER_01: So I expect um there would be a lot of scoring on the Cardinals side because I already know for a fact there will be a lot of scoring on the Rams side.
- 12:03SPEAKER_01: Doesn't matter who's catching passes over there.
- 12:05SPEAKER_01: Matt Matty Ice is out there throwing it to everyone.
- 12:08SPEAKER_01: Man, Tyler Johnson's out there catching passes.
- 12:11SPEAKER_01: Uh DeMarcus Robinson, obviously Cooper Cups, back to his MVP form from two years ago, right?
- 12:18SPEAKER_01: So, like, uh I mean the the Rams are gonna run, and then Kyron Williams in the backfield.
- 12:22SPEAKER_01: So I think it's gonna be a really fun game.
- 12:25SPEAKER_01: I'm super excited for it.
- 12:27SPEAKER_01: I got a lot of stock in uh the Rams team, I would say, more than Cardinals, but um definitely either way, gonna be fun to watch.
- 12:36SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah, and I'm looking forward to that game big time.
- 12:39SPEAKER_00: You know, from everything we heard during preseason, it seems like that first game was just kind of a fluke, and that Kyler Murray and Marvin Harrison will be fine.
- 12:50SPEAKER_00: I expect this game to be a big bounce back for everyone on that offense, and on the other side of the ball, like you just said, Cooper Cup back in prime form, and Stafford spreads the ball out a lot, and then of course you've got Kyler um in the back, or I'm sorry, um Kyron.
- 13:08SPEAKER_00: Kyron, I'm I'm struggling today with names, but then you've got Kyron in the backfield, and you know, I dropped Blake Quorum in in like the three leagues I had him, which might have been a little premature, but since he didn't touch the ball, it seems really clear that Kyron Williams is gonna be the dude that's running the show back there, and um, I expect another huge day from him, too.
- 13:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that'd be awesome.
- 13:34SPEAKER_00: Now, for my hot matchup, I have the Buccaneers versus the Lions.
- 13:43SPEAKER_00: Baker Mayfield looked incredible in week one with nearly 300 passing yards and four touchdowns.
- 13:49SPEAKER_00: Mike Evans had two touchdowns, Chris Godwin had one touchdown.
- 13:53SPEAKER_00: And although he couldn't find the end zone, Rashad White played really well and finished with over 100 yards.
- 14:00SPEAKER_00: The Lions are a great team all around, but they allowed over 300 passing yards against the Rams last week.
- 14:08SPEAKER_00: So I expect a similar flow against the Buccaneers this week.
- 14:11SPEAKER_00: They're just going Baker Mayfield is just going to be passing all over them.
- 14:15SPEAKER_00: And when he does need a little dump off to Rashad White, all day.
- 14:19SPEAKER_00: So expect a lot of offense on both sides of the football field.
- 14:24SPEAKER_00: And then, of course, um the Lions on the other side.
- 14:28SPEAKER_00: Despite pulling off an overtime win last week, they didn't look that great through the air, unless your name was Jameson Williams, uh, who was incredible with over 100 yards and a touchdown.
- 14:39SPEAKER_00: But Amon Ra and Sam Laporta had a quiet day, and then David Montgomery and Jameer Gibbs combined for over 150 yards and two touchdowns.
- 14:47SPEAKER_00: So the run game looked incredible.
- 14:50SPEAKER_00: But I think uh Jared Goff and his receiving core is gonna back bounce back in a big way this week, and you're just gonna see a shootout.
- 15:00SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 15:00SPEAKER_01: I definitely agree with that because uh Amon Rod to have you know the yards he did and Sam Laporta, they both got shut down.
- 15:08SPEAKER_01: Uh, they weren't getting any looks.
- 15:10SPEAKER_01: Um, and and that wasn't how either of those guys like to go out.
- 15:14SPEAKER_01: So you're gonna see a lot of attitude this week, a lot.
- 15:17SPEAKER_01: And then the Bucks always bring attitude because Baker is cocky, so they're gonna match that attitude.
- 15:23SPEAKER_01: Mike Evans is a fiery guy too, so he's gonna catch a couple bombs.
- 15:28SPEAKER_01: So this will be uh a really fun shootout.
- 15:31SPEAKER_01: I'm excited to see it because uh at the end of the day, I do have some stock in some lions, of course.
- 15:36SPEAKER_01: Uh, not I got a couple stocks in running backs for the Bucks, but uh, you know, at the end of the day, I think either way, they're both great teams, and that's gonna be a fun matchup.
- 15:46SPEAKER_00: Absolutely, and I got a lot of stock in both.
- 15:49SPEAKER_00: Again, as we said many, many times, we're Detroit Lions fans here at Sports Mines, and we're heavily invested in that team every fantasy year, and you know what time it is now, Manny.
- 16:08SPEAKER_00: It's time for the cold matchup of the week, and I'm gonna kick things off with the Browns versus the Jags.
- 16:21SPEAKER_00: It doesn't get much worse on offense than the Cleveland Browns.
- 16:26SPEAKER_00: I'm not even sure where to begin.
- 16:28SPEAKER_00: I guess we can start with Deshaun Watson, who is possibly the biggest bust in NFL history.
- 16:35SPEAKER_00: Um, David Njoku is out with an ankle sprain, and their best wide receiver, Amari Cooper, only had two catches for 16 yards last week.
- 16:45SPEAKER_00: Now, that probably says more about Deshaun Watson than Amari Cooper because it was nine targets and two catches, but still, the situation is really bad.
- 16:55SPEAKER_00: And Jerome Ford is the only player that I would start from the Browns this week.
- 17:01SPEAKER_00: Now, on the other side of the ball, the wide receiver core in Jacksonville is so muddled it's hard to trust any of them on a weekly basis.
- 17:09SPEAKER_00: It's one thing when you have three studs in Houston, you know, Tank Dell, Stephon Diggs, Nico Collins.
- 17:15SPEAKER_00: You start those guys with a smile on your face.
- 17:17SPEAKER_00: But with the Jaguars, you're crossing your fingers and just hoping for 10 to 12 points.
- 17:24SPEAKER_00: Now, ATN, a must-start every week, no question.
- 17:28SPEAKER_00: So it's a similar situation as Jerome Ford.
- 17:31SPEAKER_00: It's like you got a running back on the Browns and you got a running back on Jacksonville.
- 17:36SPEAKER_00: Other than that, you're staying away from this game.
- 17:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah, anytime you have a defensive game, you're always playing the running backs on that team because the defense is going to keep the the offense off the field from the other side.
- 17:50SPEAKER_01: So that means that the uh team that's struggling is just gonna run the ball and pound it a bunch of times.
- 17:55SPEAKER_01: So definitely always a good recipe for volume.
- 17:58SPEAKER_01: Um, so you will definitely, I agree with you, it could definitely be a low-scoring game.
- 18:04SPEAKER_01: Um, I wish the Jags could get their stuff together and be a little bit better, but you know, unfortunately, they still haven't addressed that O-line the way they should have.
- 18:14SPEAKER_01: So they're about to play a really good Browns defense.
- 18:17SPEAKER_01: On the Browns side, you're right.
- 18:18SPEAKER_01: Deshaun Watson is a nightmare.
- 18:20SPEAKER_01: I don't think he's a bust, though.
- 18:22SPEAKER_01: Three years, he played great for the Texans.
- 18:25SPEAKER_01: You know, would I put him above Jamarcus Russell?
- 18:28SPEAKER_01: No, absolutely not.
- 18:29SPEAKER_01: Jamarcus just totally stunk up the Raiders, right?
- 18:33SPEAKER_01: At least Deshaun gave these uh Houston Texans fans some highlights, right?
- 18:37SPEAKER_00: I was talking more about for the Browns, it was the biggest bust ever.
- 18:41SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah, for the Browns with that deal they gave him, you know.
- 18:44SPEAKER_00: Oh that guarantee.
- 18:45SPEAKER_01: It was a horrible deal.
- 18:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but they put that on themselves, nobody was given that kind of money.
- 18:50SPEAKER_01: The Browns wanted that talent, they knew there was a scandal going on, and guess what?
- 18:55SPEAKER_01: They they wanted to try to cash in during a scandal, and that's what they get.
- 18:59SPEAKER_01: You know, for karma just bit them in the ass.
- 19:02SPEAKER_00: Another thing as as you're just talking about their defense, uh Browns D is a good start.
- 19:08SPEAKER_00: If you got them for sure, you're gonna play them.
- 19:10SPEAKER_00: They should put up a lot of points this week.
- 19:16SPEAKER_01: Well, my cold call, I have the Chargers versus the Panthers.
- 19:25SPEAKER_01: Even Vegas thinks it's gonna be a horrible game.
- 19:27SPEAKER_01: They have the overall point spread at like 39 overall.
- 19:31SPEAKER_01: So that means they think that it's gonna be like one of the lower games.
- 19:34SPEAKER_01: I don't think it was the lowest slate on the slate.
- 19:37SPEAKER_01: I'm not a betting guy, so I don't know what all that stuff means.
- 19:40SPEAKER_01: Don't ask me, guys, but um, I know what a spread means, and I know that's what they think they're gonna score.
- 19:46SPEAKER_01: And so at the end of the day, uh they think it's gonna be low scoring, and the Panthers are kind of a disaster until they get Jonathan Brooks.
- 19:53SPEAKER_01: They're just really gonna be struggling to provide a run game with uh Miles Sanders and Chuba Hubbard.
- 19:59SPEAKER_01: Uh wide receiver core, Adam Thielen's not gonna be able to replicate that magic from last year.
- 20:04SPEAKER_01: He's a year older and he's in his mid-30s now.
- 20:07SPEAKER_01: Um, and then of course, um Xavier Leggett is good, but the problem may be Bryce Young.
- 20:14SPEAKER_01: Who knows?
- 20:14SPEAKER_01: Maybe that O-line.
- 20:16SPEAKER_01: So just don't think that that team's ready the second game in.
- 20:19SPEAKER_01: And then the on the Chargers side, um, they had a good week last week.
- 20:23SPEAKER_01: They may build upon that.
- 20:25SPEAKER_01: So Chargers may be the side that you do want to play, um, but that's gonna be most of the points in the game.
- 20:31SPEAKER_01: There's not gonna be much on the other end on the Panthers side.
- 20:35SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think that the large chunk of the scoring will come from the Chargers.
- 20:40SPEAKER_00: And JK Dobbins, what a nice surprise.
- 20:42SPEAKER_00: Of course, he's on my bench.
- 20:44SPEAKER_00: Um, but you know, I'm gonna play him this week, and I'm looking forward to that.
- 20:57SPEAKER_01: Now, for my shit call of the week, um, I gotta eat crow on Mr.
- 21:02SPEAKER_01: Sam Darnold, man.
- 21:04SPEAKER_01: I was bashing this guy left and right for the last couple weeks as far as like he's he's terrible, he's not he doesn't he couldn't dump the ball off to uh Christian McCaffrey.
- 21:15SPEAKER_01: I think he heard me, you know, because he he played on fire.
- 21:19SPEAKER_01: I mean, the guy went 19 for 24, 208 passing yards and two touchdowns, which is not like a stud fantasy quarterback at all.
- 21:29SPEAKER_01: Uh but it was a stud fantasy quarterback this week in fantasy because uh it was not a high score in fantasy week, it was a terrible one.
- 21:38SPEAKER_01: So my shit call was a combination of that as well.
- 21:42SPEAKER_01: So uh thanks a lot, guys.
- 21:44SPEAKER_01: You really let me down.
- 21:46SPEAKER_01: So I'm just kidding.
- 21:48SPEAKER_00: I don't think I don't think anyone saw that coming.
- 21:50SPEAKER_00: What you know, I have mentioned a few times before that I feel like Justin Jefferson is quarterback proof, but that that was nice to see.
- 21:59SPEAKER_00: Um Um that Sam Darnold actually was playing pretty respectable football.
- 22:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 22:07SPEAKER_00: He dumped it off pretty well.
- 22:09SPEAKER_00: Now for my shit call, I'm kind of going the other direction.
- 22:14SPEAKER_00: I was talking up Drake London a lot during preseason, even before preseason.
- 22:19SPEAKER_00: And he finished the day with two catches for 15 yards.
- 22:24SPEAKER_00: I mean, a lot of that, maybe most of that, was on Kirk Cousins, but I was also talking up Kirk Cousins a lot.
- 22:30SPEAKER_00: You know, the guy was such a stud last year before he got injured.
- 22:35SPEAKER_00: But I think it's going to take him a little longer than we thought to settle into that Falcons offense and just get past that Achilles injury.
- 22:44SPEAKER_00: So maybe temper your expectations on Drake London for a couple more weeks because I think it's going to be a little bit longer before he puts up those respectable numbers that we are hoping for.
- 22:56SPEAKER_00: So that was my shit call, man.
- 22:58SPEAKER_00: I was just really high on Drake London.
- 23:00SPEAKER_00: Surprisingly enough, he didn't fall to me in any drafts.
- 23:04SPEAKER_00: So I actually don't have him on any of my fantasy teams.
- 23:07SPEAKER_00: But I was really high on him.
- 23:09SPEAKER_00: I still am high on him.
- 23:11SPEAKER_00: Um, but I expected him to come out with a bang, and I expected Kirk Cousins to be feeding him the ball all day, and that is not what happened at all.
- 23:21SPEAKER_00: So hopefully he rebounds this week.
- 23:22SPEAKER_00: But if he doesn't, give it a couple more weeks.
- 23:25SPEAKER_00: Don't overreact and trade him just yet.
- 23:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I definitely um I agree with uh him bouncing back a hundred percent just because Kirk Cousins didn't have an off-season, man.
- 23:36SPEAKER_01: He tore his Achilles, you know, he was rehabbing the whole you know offseason.
- 23:42SPEAKER_01: He's trying to get back in shape just to get back into the team.
- 23:45SPEAKER_01: And uh, you know, he might have rushed his rehab.
- 23:48SPEAKER_01: So now he's not feeling probably a hundred percent.
- 23:51SPEAKER_01: He's out there, you know, playing with brand a brand new group of guys, and he still has to get those rep in, those reps in with those guys.
- 24:00SPEAKER_01: So until he gets all those practice reps in, it's not gonna be like uh a clear-cut connection, and that would take some weeks to get that chemistry.
- 24:08SPEAKER_01: So I I definitely agree.
- 24:10SPEAKER_01: Buy buy low on Drake London now, um, because if he does have his blow up game this next game, he's gonna go right back to where everyone else valued him.
- 24:21SPEAKER_01: So I was actually successful.
- 24:22SPEAKER_01: I think you saw that I pulled off a trade for Drake London in one league.
- 24:27SPEAKER_01: So you know, I'm I'm very high on him now as far as his value.
- 24:31SPEAKER_00: And to kind of piggyback on that same idea, Kyler Murray did not come out hot like a lot of people expected.
- 24:41SPEAKER_00: And and you know, this was my reservations with him, which is which is why I didn't have him in our top 15 quarterbacks video, because I was just a little hesitant on how long it was going to take him to get back, how long he was gonna fall in sync with his offense.
- 24:55SPEAKER_00: And I think now is the time, and it's probably unlikely, but if you can get Marvin Harrison Jr., now is the time because two, three more weeks, I expect them to be fully in sync with one another and him have some explosive games.
- 25:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I don't think anybody's selling low on Marvin Harrison.
- 25:17SPEAKER_01: Probably not.
- 25:17SPEAKER_01: They got him in the back end of the, you know, for back end of the front end of the second round, they're probably not giving him up.
- 25:24SPEAKER_01: I said he's the middle.
- 25:25SPEAKER_00: Similar to where Drake London fell, though.
- 25:27SPEAKER_01: So yeah, yeah, similar.
- 25:32SPEAKER_00: Let's get into our big balls calls of the week.
- 25:49SPEAKER_00: All right, boys.
- 25:50SPEAKER_00: Let him hang.
- 25:52SPEAKER_00: Let him swing.
- 25:53SPEAKER_00: Time for the big balls call of the week.
- 25:56SPEAKER_00: Now, my big balls call is that Mike Evans has another two touchdown game against the Lions this week.
- 26:05SPEAKER_00: The Lions secondary last week struggled a lot, and Baker Mayfield is going to exploit that again.
- 26:12SPEAKER_00: The game script is perfect for Mike Evans to have another big day and possibly two touchdowns.
- 26:20SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, that would be a big day.
- 26:23SPEAKER_01: And you know what?
- 26:24SPEAKER_01: If he does have those two touchdowns, they're probably gonna be 40, 50 yard plus touchdowns, so they'll be big bonus points.
- 26:31SPEAKER_01: That would be awesome, yes, sir.
- 26:33SPEAKER_01: Uh, pretty big balls call there, Joe.
- 26:36SPEAKER_00: Well, you hit on your big balls call with two touchdowns last week for Xavier Worthy, and I mean that's a much bigger balls call because you're talking about a rookie's debut in the NFL.
- 26:48SPEAKER_00: So give a round of applause for that one.
- 26:51SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
- 26:52SPEAKER_01: Even a blind squirrel gets a nut every once in a while.
- 26:54SPEAKER_00: I mean, that was that was a huge balls call, not just a big balls call.
- 26:59SPEAKER_00: But who's your uh who's your big balls call this week?
- 27:03SPEAKER_01: All right, for my big balls call, I'm gonna take a bounce back performance for a gentleman that only had 48 rushing yards last week, Mr.
- 27:11SPEAKER_01: Jonathan Taylor.
- 27:12SPEAKER_01: The reason why he only had 48 is because the passing offense was so you know explosive that they just kind of went through the air.
- 27:19SPEAKER_01: Um, but my big balls call is that he's gonna have 100 uh yards rushing, 150 all-purpose yards, uh, so that means 50 receiving yards, and he's gonna have two touchdowns uh this week for his bounce back week.
- 27:33SPEAKER_01: They're playing against Green Bay.
- 27:35SPEAKER_01: Uh Green Bay, as you know, got shredded by the Eagles rush offense, which it was Saquon Barkley, granted, but I think that Jonathan Taylor is also an elite back.
- 27:45SPEAKER_01: And um when it comes to the passing off uh defense, Green Bay is much better on the passing defense, so they're gonna shut it down with Jared Alexander in the backfield, and so that's gonna open it up for a rushing game.
- 27:58SPEAKER_01: So you're gonna see a lot of Anthony Richardson uh quarterback options to JT, and it's just gonna be a really fun game to watch, old school hard knows.
- 28:08SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah, and I mean Saquon was unbelievable last week, but that's such a great point.
- 28:13SPEAKER_00: And yeah, JT's JT, he could easily exploit them for two touchdowns this week, no doubt.
- 28:19SPEAKER_01: They have a good O-line, so I mean, definitely possible.
- 28:27SPEAKER_01: Well, ladies and gentlemen, we really appreciate all of your support.
