I think we've got tape speed. We're rolling. Oh, my goodness. What d- what does that mean? I have no idea. Uh, that means it's time for, uh, Full Spectrum Cycling's podcast number five. And it's the holiday show.
• 0:15
Yay, holiday show. Hey, yes, because we'll be on next time- Day-... after holiday... d- day after, uh, Christmas, I think is the next one. Exactly, exactly.
• 0:27
So welcome to Radio Land, our, our per- person, our one listener. [laughs] We love you. Yeah, thank you for We love you. So what do you got going over there, JK? Oh, by the way, it's Sven and JK. Hello.
• 0:41
And, uh, Carlos is, um, lurking in the studio, but probably won't- Does this thing work? Does... Here, let me... Is this thing on? Hello? [laughs] Hello. Hey. Hey. I'm on the freaking radio, man. [laughs] Let's go.
• 0:56
He's in your ear now. Carlos is an interloper. By the way, Carlos is a, a multiple Schlick bike owner. Amen. He was one of our- I got, like, six. [laughs] Maybe five.
• 1:06
[laughs] It's a competition with Tony Burger to see who has the most Schlick Cycles out there, or me because obviously I have more. [laughs] I think you got, like, 100? Uh, not anymore. [laughs] That's a good thing.
• 1:20
Some of those should probably go away. If anybody needs a bike, we got some Schlick stuff. Don't worry about it. [laughs] For sure, for sure.
• 1:27
Yeah, so we're, uh, we're in the bike shop/studio again here on, uh, Locust Street in River West. And finally kinda drying out from the, uh, moist- Moist... Santa Rampage. Oh, yeah.
• 1:41
That was a- It could've been delightful if it were snowing. It wasn't- But it wasn't- [laughs] But it wasn't snowing... snowing. My gosh. Um- And the Scotchgard failed [laughs] on my Snuggie.
• 1:54
[laughs] I, I was fortunate enough, A, to miss most of it because I left the shop at w- afternoon and tried to catch up with it, so I, I did ride a lot, but I didn't really stop a lot. Fair enough.
• 2:06
And I had my, uh, my rain stuff underneath my Santa, uh, suit, which did indeed become a 30-pound anchor. Yes, that would make sense. But, uh- I didn't make sense. [laughs] All in all, I...
• 2:20
There was a lot of people out there for such a crappy day, and that was- I was surprised... really good to see. I was surprised. I was very surprised.
• 2:26
I thought it was gonna push a lot of people out, but- Coulda been six inches of snow. That would've been- Oh... very delightful. That would've been fun. [laughs] Fun, fun, fun, fun. Hey, there's always next year.
• 2:34
Ah, you have to... Well, it, it reminded me of, like, what was it, like, 10 years ago, almost identical conditions, windy, crappy. That's when they actually had the, the route. Yep.
• 2:46
It's the same thing you get in, uh- Ugh... March for St. Patrick's Day. You could have a snowy day, a 70-degree day- Mm-hmm... or this, which we had- Oh, yeah... which was- It just reminded me-... 35 degrees and rain...
• 2:55
of the different... Yeah, yeah. It, it gets you ready for the season. And that's the next- Oh, for sure... two weeks of weather here before Christmas too, folks.
• 3:00
I don't even know if we're gonna have a white Christmas here in Wisconey. Yeah. But, uh, yeah, so Rampage rampaged. Um,
• 3:08
one thing I'm gonna try and do is get Chewy to call in maybe next time and talk about his event in Rochester. They did a Santa Rampage. Oh, yeah. Yeah, I saw some pictures of that. Yeah.
• 3:17
There's also one coming up this weekend in Decorah, Iowa. Thanks to Lee Hackman, our Milwaukee picture gets more- [laughs] Right... more Facebook time because he used it for their, um, page.
• 3:29
[laughs] But, uh, you know, speaking of calling, our call-in line is now actually working again. Dun-da-da-da. I mean, you can't actually call in yet, but you can call [laughs] and leave a message. Um- [laughs] Yeah...
• 3:43
the new number- This is like a smoke signal. Yeah. [laughs] But it, it just works like the old one on the old, uh, on the old Dear Weekly Dose of Fat. Same thing, same place. Back when, back when the phones had tails.
• 3:52
Yeah. You know? [laughs] It's now just a new number. It's 717-727-BIKE. Once again. 717-727-2453. Hey, call us and leave a message, and I'll, I'll throw it in the show.
• 4:07
Um, hopefully by next episode, we can actually have some folks calling in and hassling us and giving us something to do besides talk to each other. Right on, yeah. 'Cause that would be a good thing.
• 4:16
'Cause I keep looking over at Carlos and... 'cause it's been moving. I'm like, "All right." I, I've got nothing to spin. [laughs] [bell ringing] Top of the hill. Top of the hill. Top of the hill. Beer break. Oh.
• 4:29
[can opening] Good thing we got beer today. Timing is everything. It's gonna make the show so much better. Well lubricated machine. Yep. Today is- Lubricated...
• 4:37
it's Founder's All Day IPA, as it will be for most shows if it's me bringing [laughs] the beer.
• 4:42
[laughs] So that way you can drink more and be a little bit less stupid by the time you're done with as many as you're gonna have. Indeed, indeed. That's thinking. Set the bar on the bar. [laughs] Yeah, exactly.
• 4:57
[laughs] So yeah, um, I don't know. There's some stuff, uh... You wanna talk about local stuff, or you wanna talk about cycling stuff? What do you wanna, what do you wanna talk about first? Uh, I don't know.
• 5:08
Let's, let's recap some stuff besides, uh, Rampage. What else went on around here? I know there was some- Oh, there was a, a, the Bike Bazaar, little expo. Oh, yeah.
• 5:16
That's a big deal over to, to the Riverside High School- Yeah... benefits the Milwaukee Mountain Bike Club or some such- Mm-hmm... entity of that nature. I was unable to attend- [laughs]... due to issues.
• 5:30
[laughs] I was unable to attend due to lack of wanting to spend any money at all at that. You know- Well, I know, I know... but I wouldn't spend money, but- Yeah, yeah, yeah... it's a spending money thing.
• 5:37
I, I mean, I've, I've, I, I'm still rolling with, uh, that, uh, handlebar bag from... I got a Banjo Brothers for five bucks. Boom. Yep. It's a, it's a big bike swap, folks.
• 5:47
[laughs] It happens every year about this time here in Milwaukee. You can probably stop by there next year. Yeah. I would recommend it if you're in the area. And it, it all goes for a good cause. Right. Best laid plans.
• 5:57
Mm-hmm. Yeah, Krampusnacht happened and- We were supposed to have Tony Burger come in and talk about it 'cause he was there, but guess what? He was, he was still reeling from all the whips. [laughs] No problem.
• 6:09
And he has a colonoscopy tomorrow. Well, there's a reason for that. So he's, so he couldn't come in today. [laughs] Hey, Tony, we're giving your medical history out right there. Don't worry about it.
• 6:16
[laughs] Everything's good. You, you can talk about it next time. Tell us how it went. Hope everything comes out all right. Ba-da-bing. [imitates drums] [laughs] Oh, Lordy.
• 6:26
[laughs] I, I wanted to bring the Krampus knock [imitates keyboard] up just 'cause it had Krampus in it. Oh.
• 6:31
It, it re- it reminds me to remind everybody that we're a Surly dealer now, so if you want a, if you want a Surly in the Milwaukee area and/or the surrounding 10 or 12 states, give me a shout. We can do that.
• 6:41
You are in touch with the intergalactic mothership? Well, we're not an intergalactic dealer. That's only re- people who do lots more business than us. Oh. We're just a dealer. Ah. So- Satellite... or will be.
• 6:51
We're not actually even a dealer yet. We can just get 'em. I guess that makes us a dealer. All right. [laughs] It really seems like a very nebulous description of- [laughs]...
• 6:59
what it is, but the fact of the matter is, if you want a Surly bike, you can get one here now. Thank you very much. Come again. [laughs] And on a more serious note. [laughs] Oh, my goodness.
• 7:10
[laughs] Hey, how about some real cycling news just for a minute, and then we can get- All right... back into the stuff that nobody wants to hear. All right. Um, this kinda s- struck me a little, little hard.
• 7:20
  I don't know why.
• 7:21
Um, Paul Sherwin, who was one of the two main voices of the Tour de France and almost every other major European cycling coverage on, uh, the television device, uh, passed away at a very young age of 62. Hmm.
• 7:37
Which led me to look in a little bit into him, 'cause, you know, he's a voice and he's a talking head, and, you know, it was obvious he had some past experience racing.
• 7:46
I didn't realize he'd actually been in, uh, seven tours. I don't think he finished them all. He might have finished five.
• 7:51
But, um, he was a domestique and a guy that knew, knew the tactics and knew how to talk about cycling and did so for 33 years after his, uh, career on the bike ended, and, um, was one of, you know, two guys along with Phil Liggett that if anybody's ever watched any cycling coverage, you, you probably would have recognized and, uh, maybe even appreciated the man.
• 8:13
This is a bummer he's gone. Let's raise one for him. Well, yeah. There you go, Paul. Vinde domum, Paul. I was about to cry. [laughs] Yeah, I, you know, there's just...
• 8:23
I, I, I honestly didn't realize that, um, he li- he's lived in Uganda since age of seven. I thought he was a Brit. Oh. Thought he was a... You know? I guess he's a colonist then. Ah. There, yeah. Apparently.
• 8:34
[laughs] But, uh- Time traveler... you know, I mean, besides being the guy that was, you know, yammering on the air about cycling that very few Americans actually care about- [laughs]...
• 8:42
um, he, he did a lot of good stuff for cycling in Africa, including Paul's Peloton and a couple other initiatives to get people on bikes in Africa and, uh, probably around the world for all I know, but, uh- Oh, yeah...
• 8:53
there's a guy that you go, "Well, how'd that guy have so much time in his life to do all that good stuff?" 'Cause, you know, pretty much I do none of that stuff. [laughs] And that's just the way it's gonna be.
• 9:04
And now for something completely different. Hey- What's happening this weekend? [laughs] What is happening this weekend? Uh, Shel- Well, Shell Track's happening this weekend for sure. For sure.
• 9:16
Which for anybody in our, uh, tri-state area is one of the longest running fat bike races in, in this area on the shores of Lake Michigan. Uh, it's probably gonna be 38 degrees and raining, but you know what?
• 9:29
[laughs] That just makes it that much more fun. Right, to volunteer. [laughs] And it's very sandy. [laughs] Yeah. It's a super sandy course mostly. You're not really gonna- Well, we're...
• 9:39
I'm just speaking for myself on this one. [laughs] You might wanna race. You never know. I know. I might. [laughs] Probably not, though. Right.
• 9:46
[laughs] Um, but yeah, I'm gonna go up there and do some, uh, the old, uh, photo snappy thing and, uh, check it out and- That's, that's how you get out of the racing...
• 9:54
that's how I get out of the racing and out of the shop, too. You know what? I'm telling you. I'm sorry. This, this Saturday- [laughs] I, it's not like- [laughs] I don't think I'm gonna be here.
• 10:01
I might come back later, or we'll be open Sunday instead or something. Who knows? [laughs] It's not like anybody's coming through the door yet anyway, so it's all good. [laughs] Hey, folks, the doors are open, though.
• 10:09
You can come in if you want. Yes. Come. Uh- Come on in. Yeah, yeah. Hey, you know what we- All are welcome here... don't have that on air sign out there yet. Yeah. Well, that could be, like, a blessing/curse one.
• 10:22
On air, don't touch it. Don't go in. I'm just remembering going, "Ooh, on air. Don't go in the studio." It's kinda like a dark room, you know? When the light's on, you don't wanna go in there. Right. Yeah. Ooh. Hmm.
• 10:35
Uh, maybe it should just say all are welcome. Come in. Yeah. [laughs] All are... Please. Then you- Amen. [laughs] But that's more like a church, then. Isn't it? Yeah. Well, it is a church.
• 10:43
[laughs] It's the church of two wheels, folks. Dun, dun, dun, dun. You got that right. [laughs] All right. We talked about Paul.
• 10:51
Hey, here's some more cycling news for you folks that are into the cycling news in the United States of America, uh, and actually from around the world because people come to this thing.
• 11:00
Uh, there will be no Interbike in 2019. Where is that, was that normally held? Well, it was normally held in Las Vegas for lots and lots of years and- That's what I thought...
• 11:09
then for some ridiculous reason they moved it to Reno, and I think about half the people showed up. I didn't bother going because, well, Reno, come on. You know? Yeah.
• 11:19
If you're, if you're gonna take a vacation and go to a show, why not go to Vegas and see a couple other shows? [laughs] Um, I, I, I- Is the next stop gonna be Branson?
• 11:28
[laughs] Well, there's, you know, there's- Hollywood... there's rumor, rumor that it's gonna be back in 2020, but I don't know.
• 11:34
With any momentum that they had, they lost by moving, and then they lost it again by not having it. And if they never start it again, I don't know if anybody'd cry that much. Hmm.
• 11:42
Um, there's all this talk about them kinda rolling in the bike stuff with all the other bigger shows like Outdoor Retailer, and it's like, well, we'll just relegate those guys to the back of the, the Dick's Sporting Goods store or the Big 5 or whatever and, you know, just, like, devalue cycling just like everybody else does, so.
• 11:59
Mm-hmm. Um, let's hope that doesn't happen, but- I think maybe taking up the gauntlet a little bit are the folks at CABDA that's sort of sprang back to life after being dormant for, like, at least 15 years.
• 12:12
Um, probably four or five years ago, and it started out small, and it's been gathering steam, and I would not be surprised if it would gather a lot more steam for
• 12:20
the f- maybe not this one, 'cause it's coming up so quickly, but it's in February, which is also a way better time for a show than September.
• 12:27
[laughs] 'Cause most shops are still doing business in September, and then you gotta take a week off in the middle of the busy season- Right... to go to a show. It's like, what the hell? Mm-hmm.
• 12:34
You're gonna lose 30, 40, 50, 100 grand. I don't know, big shops. Not us, we'd probably lose, like, 10 bucks, but- [laughs]... um,
• 12:41
you know, uh, when you have a show in February when nobody in any upper third of the country is doing any bike business at all really, it's the perfect time to go spend a week just outside of Chicago in whatever it is, Cicero or
• 12:55
Bumble, whatever. [laughs] I don't know. It's not Chicago proper, it's, it's outside of Chicago, but you're at least within spitting distance of culture and, and- Yeah [laughs]... events and whatnot.
• 13:05
So, uh, I'm, I'm curious how much that will increase their, their attendance this year versus also even next year, because with no September show, you know, everybody needs to... They, they gotta see the new stuff, man.
• 13:18
The internet isn't, isn't good at showing it. Yeah. It just shows pictures. Yeah, tactile. Yeah. Tactile. Can't- I want to touch it... touch the stuff.
• 13:24
And then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and, uh. See, that's me touching your ear hole. [laughs] Stick that finger right in that ear hole. Whoa.
• 13:32
[laughs] Well, anyway, so I, I would hope it would go back to Las Vegas where it belongs, 'cause it's really- 'Cause Vegas is better. I mean, it could go back to- [laughs] Vegas is for fun. I mean, come on...
• 13:43
well, it, it could go back to Anaheim, which when I first started- Well, yeah... going to Interbikes, that was in the '90s.
• 13:48
It was in Anaheim, and it was a lot of fun, because you're not far from the coast, so you can go to the, you know, you can go to the surf spots and hang out. You can go to a lot of good places around the LA area.
• 13:57
[smacks lips] And, um, w- when we went to the, uh, the bar for one of the parties, talking to one of the bartenders, he said, "Oh yeah, this Interbike show, they drink more beer than any other trade show that ever comes through town."
• 14:08
I'm like- [laughs]... "Well, of course we do. We burn it all off when we're riding our bikes." Exactly. Beer- Thank you very much, Anaheim... beer a mile. We're here all year. [laughs] It's, it's, it's just my safe math.
• 14:19
[laughs] We were walking from- One beer a mile... I think our hotel was on one side of Disneyland, and the hotel where Diamondback or somebody had a big party with, um, Susan DeMattei and whoever was- Emma Ebo...
• 14:31
and, and, uh, yeah, she was a, you know, an Olympic racer at the time, and, um- Oh, different. Well, the- I'm thinking Diamond Head. Yeah. [laughs] Or how- My bad. [laughs]... how about King Diamond maybe?
• 14:41
[laughs] A little of both. Yeah. [laughs] Well, it's just like this three or four-lane wide, I gu- you call them expressways out there.
• 14:49
They're not really freeways, 'cause they have stoplights and stuff, but they're pretty far apart. Yeah.
• 14:52
Like, maybe a mile or half a mile, and there was all these cones just sitting on the side [laughs] of the road, which were kind of begging to be put back out into traffic [laughs] whi- which happened somehow.
• 15:04
[laughs] I don't know how it happened, but, uh, yeah, there was quite a traffic jam there for a little while. I didn't have anything to do with it. [whooping] We can blame it on Ralph now that he's passed away.
• 15:12
That's probably his idea. Fiends. Long live Ralph. [laughs] Hey, one more shop-related thing real quick. Right on.
• 15:22
Um, we just got Chumba USA as one of our frame providers, so we can build custom-ish bikes for people who like custom-ishy things, machiny things.
• 15:31
And, um, they w- had a s- fantastic fat bike made in the United States of 'Merica, uh, titanium, beautiful. Some famous Tennessee factory where you probably know all titanium in the United States comes from mostly.
• 15:45
And, um, he had a few of them left, and I said, "Well, you know, what if I bought them all? Like, how, what, what can you do me for on those?"
• 15:51
'Cause, you know, up here in the Midwest, we sell a few fat bikes, and they're down in Texas, and, eh, not so many down in Texas. Yeah. And, um, so we made a deal, so I've got the remaining stock of those.
• 16:02
And, um, man, if you're ever looking for a titanium fat bike, you should probably at least take a look at these. They're as, uh, they're at the same price or less than stuff that's made overseas now.
• 16:13
You got your fancy Paragon sliding dropouts on them, which everybody needs, 'cause it gives you a bunch of options on what you can run on the, the hub side of your wheel. And, uh, hey, take a, take a look.
• 16:23
Don't buy one if you don't want to, but, uh, at, at least take a look. Keep it in the conversation. 'Cause actually, I'd like to keep them all myself. Like, of all the bikes I build- [laughs]...
• 16:30
I, I really never wanna sell a bike. I just wanna kinda keep them in the gallery and look at them- [laughs]... and ride them periodically and
• 16:37
never polish them like all those dirty bikes over the, against the wall over there. Tony Stark or- [laughs]... here's the Mark 90. [laughs] Right on. Uh, I don't know. What's going on around here? What do you got going?
• 16:53
What's happening? I don't know. I heard about a Madison event or, uh, fat bike series. Kinda looked kinda fun. Yeah. Big Cheese, I believe it, Big Cheese Fat Bike Series. Yeah, I don't know who's- Uh, like-...
• 17:08
who's behind it. I just saw something about it, too. It's, uh, in Verona somewhere or something, right? Yeah, yeah, the first one's in Verona, and then it's like, oh, eh.
• 17:16
I bet if you went to, uh, fatbike.com and looked at the event calendar or some- They might have something... some, so you pro- they probably know something about that,
• 17:23
uh, being that they're all fat bike oriented and whatnot. Or wait, we're, 'cause we're on fat [laughs]... Well, we're all fat bike oriented- We're all-... and stuff.
• 17:30
[laughs] Um, let's find out what we got going here at Big Cheese Fat Bike Series. [gulps] But let's not lose the fact that it's the holiday season, or we're not gonna talk to you until after the holiday season, so. Yeah.
• 17:43
Hey, happy holidays. Happy holidays, everyone. Are you going anywhere? Oh, no. [laughs] Not, not even locally? You're just gonna stay home and- Oh, no, I'm gonna hit some places. It'll be...
• 17:55
There's some, like, cool events, [smacks lips] like, uh... There's brain farting. [laughs] Like, drizzly in front of you. Like, uh- [laughs]... let me, let me have a beer and, and, and think about that.
• 18:10
[laughs] One Top of the Hill again. Oh, wait. I have a new sound. [bells ringing] It's kind of a, a more- Jingly... jingly sound. No, it was... Okay, now I got it.
• 18:26
[laughs] I lost my brain there for a second. No, um, like, the Sunday before, um, [smacks lips]
• 18:32
Christmas over at Tonic, uh, Cactus Brothers, Jeff Hamilton, Jonas are gonna be, like, the backing band for a whole bunch of other front people, performers doing a nice, cool holiday matinee.
• 18:47
Is it a holiday-themed thing or is it just a- I think so... just an, an event in and of itself? Uh, well, it, it, yeah, holiday. They, they put holiday on the event thing. [laughs] Fair enough. So I'll assume that.
• 19:00
[laughs] And yeah, uh, it'll be a good, groovy time on that one. For you Milwaukee peeps, that's a, a thing worth checking out probably.
• 19:09
There's all kinds of fun stuff around Milwaukee, you just gotta look out and- Yeah, if you, you know, come from far and wide, you know, look us up.
• 19:16
We probably know something that's going on somewhere that's most likely worth doing. Exactly. Or know of. How's that for a bunch of qualifiers? Yeah. We're traffic cops.
• 19:24
[laughs] We might not know the answers, but we know where to direct you to the answers. Riding bikes is fun. [laughs] We are going into our third year of fat bike races in the Madison area.
• 19:35
Oh, this is back to the- Oh, wow [laughs]... Big Cheese. I just, I just, I just, I just pulled it up here, so, so- Wow. There. I was like, wow, [laughs] we- And finally, our series has its own name.
• 19:42
Previous operated under Snowshoe Scurry and Fat Bike. I'm pretty sure that doesn't matter at all. It's the Big Cheese Fat Bike Series. You're correct, sir. Uh, that said, um- Hmm... check out the race schedule.
• 19:57
That I will do. [laughs] So, hey, look at that, they had, they picked Saturday, December 15th for their winter kickoff, which is the same day as Shell Track and also Frost Bike, I think.
• 20:07
[laughs] Now, why would you schedule a race at the same time as another guy in the same state? It doesn't seem very smart. Uh, sorry, guys. Uh, race two- [laughs]...
• 20:16
January 5th, Pleasant View Golf Course, Middleton, and ch- race three, Saturday, January 12th, Walking Iron Park, Mazomanie, Wisconsin. Wow, race four, race five. All right, I'm not gonna go through all these. Yeah.
• 20:28
[laughs] This is into February, folks. Sure. [laughs] We'll probably talk about these later. I know, that's why I only said the, the first one- Okay, yeah... 'cause it was between those events.
• 20:33
No, I was, I was gonna r- just do the three that I thought were in the series, but- I was like, "Dude, what's going on this week?" Eh. Oh. That's what I said. Okay. [laughs] So that one's happening this week.
• 20:41
Yeah, great. So I guess if you don't wanna leave Madison, um, sh- shut up, Meg, um, you could, uh- Just-... go to Verona or wherever that one is, and, you know, don't go to George's race, which is the best race in,
• 20:54
on the East, you know... What is that, the East Coast or West Coast of [laughs] Lake Michigan? Uh, it's the west. I guess it's the West Coast looking east.
• 21:02
It's the west coast of Lake Michigan on the east side of- In Manitou-... Wisconsin... in Manitou shingles up there in the, at the far north, not quite. Manitowoc.
• 21:12
Did you see the, the, the, there's a place right across the street from the park that has $5 buds and burgers after the race? I did see that. This is a reason to go up there just in and of itself. Yeah.
• 21:21
Except anytime I go up there, I always miss the turn- Ah... into the park. Yeah. You come in from the south, so you're actually still going north to get to it? Yeah. Okay. And it drives me nuts.
• 21:33
Well, because the first sign you see is, like, US Army Reserve. Right, right. Yeah, I don't wanna go into a- Yeah, you do-... army-... but you do wanna go in there. Yeah, but I don't want- [laughs]
• 21:43
No, logic says I don't wanna go into an army barracks. You do, you do that every year, though. [laughs] Yeah. That's right, Sanders.
• 21:53
[laughs] Hey, I, I think, uh, I know Dave asked if they were gonna have gravy for his fries, so. [laughs] My name's Davey. I like my fries- With gravy... with gravy. Um, so apparently that's gonna be a request.
• 22:08
I'm not sure they'll fulfill it because what do they care? We don't know how this is gonna work out. The gravy is hard. Yeah. So, or more with the Shell Track and bringing it back into the, uh, conversation, so.
• 22:19
[laughs] Hey, what's the deal with that Seinfeld show? [laughs] It's still on, isn't it? Yeah, it's on in reruns. I, I just- Every time I see it...
• 22:31
how many times, how many times have you looked at that Klein with the fork on backwards and gone, "The hell are they doing?"
• 22:36
There's a Klein hanging in the, in the doorway or on the wall behind a lot of the scenes, a Klein old school mountain bike with the fork rotated backwards. That he never rides. Well, yeah, or he stores it stupidly.
• 22:47
I'm not sure which. [laughs] Oh. I, but it's like, why is that, what's wrong with that thing? Now I have to rewatch. It's another reason not to watch Seinfeld. There, okay.
• 22:56
Which I didn't really need another reason, but- But it's a show about nothing... which, in this case, it's about something, 'cause that fork is on backwards and that's stupid. [laughs] It's a little bit like your show.
• 23:06
[laughs] Yeah, pretty much. Hey, thanks for that zinger, Carlos. That's just the thing that does- I'm, I'm turning your microphone off now. [laughs] I don't know. [laughs] And Carlos just left the room. Thanks very much.
• 23:17
[laughs] Um, yeah, I don't know. We didn't have a whole shit ton of stuff to talk about today, did we? No, but we- Seemed like it was a lot more when I looked at the list. Yeah.
• 23:27
It's, when you, it happens when you type it up. Yeah. No. Yeah. No. No, man. No. It takes time. Yeah. It's- It takes more time to type it than it does to yammer it on the, on the airwaves. Write it down and-
• 23:41
And there you go... it doesn't make any sense anyways. So, um, well, I mean, you know, this isn't one of those deals where we gotta kill a whole hour either, right? Right on. I don't think we're gonna do that today.
• 23:51
I don't think we're even gonna come close. No. Matter of fact, why don't we, uh, talk about what's going on tonight after you leave here, and, uh, wrap this puppy up and come back to you on the 26th of December.
• 24:03
Right on. Yeah, I'm gonna be heading on out over to the Jazz Estate. Jerry Gorillo, who's gonna be doing his holiday show, crooning and serenading kind of the The old school Frank school...
• 24:17
yeah, and it's Frank Sinatra's birthday. I didn't know if those two events were done by design. I doubt it, but I don't know. Guy's clever, he might have known that part. Hey- I don't know. I'll bring it up.
• 24:31
I'm just, I'm curious. I'm, I'm just saying. I'm just curious. Ask him if we can throw a song of his on after the show. Yeah. 'Cause I think he has original songs. Oh, yeah. They're not all just, um, covers of- Oh, no...
• 24:40
of the old school. He's definitely got his own. Yeah. Yeah, actually he's premiering, like, a, an original Christmas song. Yeah, probably stop down over there. Ain't got nothing better to do tonight anyway.
• 24:49
It'll be, um, a good jam. Uh, Ewan, he's in a band. McCarthy from, uh, Whiskey of the Damned. He's down at, uh, Tonic tonight, which- Again with the Tonic. Well, well, no. Do you have any, do you have any gin with that?
• 25:02
No. Yeah. But, but man, they, yeah, they, they just all good shit. [laughs] And, uh, yeah, he was doing his thing. I got another Gerry thing I just thought of. Uh-oh. Completely at random. Oh, yeah.
• 25:16
[laughs] Which is sort of a pun, because At Random is a, is a supper clubby bar joint that has been around forever, and the owner, I don't know if he was there for 40 or 50 years. He was there forever.
• 25:28
And, um, he recently sold it, and it has been re-conflagurated into something more along the lines of what it was 30 years ago. And, um, Gerry's, like, a featured artist there.
• 25:40
But I, I think it's a spot that if people visit Milwaukee, we probably ought to have a ride that goes to At Random. Oh, sure. At, at random times we should go there, 'cause it's a good spot. Oh, yeah.
• 25:50
That sounds of the plan. Again with the Gerry. Well, and well, those... Yeah, we'd ac- have to have a couple mile burn between drink, or between stops, because- Between sets, even...
• 26:03
well, between stops, because you got to burn. Those are high-powered. Oh, yeah. [laughs] They're gonna be high-powered. That's a one drink stop. [laughs] Right on.
• 26:15
Okay, folks, I'm sure we wasted enough of your time today again. Um, reminder, we got our call-in line, now actually an answering service temporarily, 717-727-BIKE.
• 26:26
Call up and tell us, uh, you never want to hear us again, or you appreciate what we're doing. And, um, you know, we got a Facebook page and all that malarkey that you probably already know about.
• 26:35
And, uh, we'll try to be a little more professional, probably not though, next time we do this. And, um- You never know...
• 26:41
please, callers, you know, w- we're way better when you call, and you're the s- part of the show that we really enjoy, rather than just us talking about stuff. Because heck,
• 26:51
this is kind of a- That's what those awkward pauses were... yeah, that's supposed to be where a guest calls in. [laughs] So you guys haven't done your job. We've done our job. I mean, this is heavy lifting.
• 27:00
Next time I'm sure you can do it, too. [laughs] Happy holidays- Yeah, bye... everybody. Okay, bye. Blah, blah, blah. [outro music]
