- 0:00Speaker 1: Are we kicking LSU out of the SEC? Cole, what's
- 0:02Speaker 1: going on around here, man?
- 0:03Speaker 2: Ah, boy.
- 0:04Speaker 3: Okay, so now we have a ruling that comes into
- 0:06Speaker 3: motion by Commissioner Greg Sankey that says that we are
- 0:10Speaker 3: going to potentially have a meeting because we had a
- 0:13Speaker 3: lawsuit filed last week after the judge ruled that we
- 0:18Speaker 3: were going to allow two former NFL players to join
- 0:20Speaker 3: a roster. We are now having a compliance to where
- 0:22Speaker 3: the school presidents and the athletic directors will meet to
- 0:27Speaker 3: have a discussion of kicking out LSU permanently from the
- 0:31Speaker 3: Southeastern Conference. I personally think this is a power move
- 0:34Speaker 3: by Greg Sankey.
- 0:35Speaker 2: That's all this is.
- 0:36Speaker 3: This is our final resolute of, guys, we set a
- 0:39Speaker 3: rule in motion. You want to break it because of
- 0:42Speaker 3: what is going on with everything behind closed doors of
- 0:45Speaker 3: what a TRO allows you to do and that a
- 0:47Speaker 3: judge is not to follow our same bylaws, so therefore...
- 0:50Speaker 3: With the TRO in motion, you get to break the rules.
- 0:53Speaker 3: We are going to make sure that if you really
- 0:55Speaker 3: are all about this, that you are fully into bringing
- 0:59Speaker 3: in players when we have told you specifically, don't do
- 1:02Speaker 3: this one damn thing. Then at this point, we have
- 1:05Speaker 3: no other ruling, but we have to kick you on out.
- 1:07Speaker 3: And we know that we're going to be fine because
- 1:09Speaker 3: we're the Southeastern Conference, and somebody will take that 16th spot. Now,
- 1:13Speaker 3: we have heard, as of last night, two new roster
- 1:17Speaker 3: spots were filled by LSU. that were not for Daquan
- 1:20Speaker 3: Wright and for Xavier Harris. So therefore, the 105 roster
- 1:24Speaker 3: spots are all filled. Those two players will not be
- 1:26Speaker 3: a part of LSU.
- 1:28Speaker 2: Up to this point.
- 1:29Speaker 3: The question is, this is more than just the fact
- 1:32Speaker 3: that LSU was going out and adding in players in football.
- 1:36Speaker 3: Let me remind everybody, this is not just a Lane
- 1:38Speaker 3: Kiffin thing. And I know that everyone's going to say,
- 1:41Speaker 3: what about with Kentucky? What about with Texas? What about
- 1:44Speaker 3: with UCLA going out and adding in all these players?
- 1:47Speaker 3: I understand exactly what you're saying. This is not an
- 1:50Speaker 3: LSU Lane Kiffin thing. This is an LSU grand scheme thing.
- 1:54Speaker 3: Their soccer team has two former professional players that played
- 1:57Speaker 3: in a match earlier this month. The basketball team is
- 2:01Speaker 3: basically trying to build a G League underneath Will Wade
- 2:04Speaker 3: of roster players that have spent time outside of the
- 2:06Speaker 3: NCAA regulation. So the ruling is more so in the
- 2:10Speaker 3: grand scheme of the Southeastern Conference for this season. Lane
- 2:14Speaker 3: may have done everything wrong and then finally said, you
- 2:17Speaker 3: know what, it's not worth it and did this part.
- 2:19Speaker 3: And it may be too late because if you have
- 2:21Speaker 3: to get other people on board, Will Wade, Kim Mulkey,
- 2:25Speaker 3: if it happens in baseball, which it won't, but Jay Johnson,
- 2:28Speaker 3: all these other names have to be on board for
- 2:30Speaker 3: saying we are not going to be breaking these bylaws
- 2:32Speaker 3: or these regulations. Therefore, It could be a done deal,
- 2:36Speaker 3: and they'll stop staying in the conference. The way I
- 2:38Speaker 3: would describe this is that this, in my humble opinion,
- 2:42Speaker 3: is like being the owner of a country club. You
- 2:44Speaker 3: allow your patrons to make conversations and suggestions on the
- 2:48Speaker 3: rules that you want for your country club, and they
- 2:52Speaker 3: may be put into effect.
- 2:53Speaker 2: But at the end of the day.
- 2:54Speaker 3: You have the higher-ups, the president, and those who are
- 2:57Speaker 3: making the decisions come up with the rules that you
- 2:59Speaker 3: are invited to follow by. You get all these amenities
- 3:02Speaker 3: and all these perks and all these things that help
- 3:04Speaker 3: boost up your status because of what's in that club.
- 3:07Speaker 3: But if you want to break and not follow protocol
- 3:10Speaker 3: with these rules, eventually they will say, your money, as
- 3:14Speaker 3: much as we will miss it, It's not going to
- 3:16Speaker 3: make us feel that disappointed and we're not going to
- 3:18Speaker 3: lose that big of a dent. We will find somebody
- 3:20Speaker 3: to replace you with the resources and the funds that
- 3:22Speaker 3: you'd be funneling on in for your benefits per month
- 3:25Speaker 3: because they will learn how to follow the rules.
- 3:27Speaker 2: That's where I think this is.
- 3:28Speaker 3: I think to a certain degree, Lane Kiffin and LSU,
- 3:32Speaker 3: really LSU in general, not Lane Kiffin, kind of bent
- 3:34Speaker 3: the knee and said, we are done with this conversation.
- 3:37Speaker 2: Let's go ahead and focus in on football. That's where
- 3:39Speaker 2: I'm at.
- 3:40Speaker 4: Yeah, it very much, Tom, feels like that power move, right?
- 3:45Speaker 4: And I, listen, to give some, the LSU fans are
- 3:49Speaker 4: not going to hear this the way they should, but
- 3:51Speaker 4: I promise you, they were not going to out-leverage the SEC, right?
- 3:58Speaker 4: There is one program in this country that feels like
- 4:03Speaker 4: it can do things on its own and out-leverage anyone
- 4:07Speaker 4: it wants. And that program just happens to reside in
- 4:10Speaker 4: South Bend, Indiana. I don't think there's, listen, I don't
- 4:15Speaker 4: think Ohio state.
- 4:16Speaker 1: Could out leverage the big 10.
- 4:18Speaker 4: Like it might be more of a conversation, maybe Alabama
- 4:23Speaker 4: at its very peak.
- 4:24Speaker 1: With Saban could have gotten closer with the sec. It
- 4:28Speaker 1: LSU was not going to out leverage the sec in this.
- 4:33Speaker 4: And much like, again, very different situations, much like the
- 4:36Speaker 4: Brendan Sorsby thing. When your conference steps in and says, hey, buddy,
- 4:40Speaker 4: this is where the rubber meets the road, you tell
- 4:44Speaker 4: me what you want to do, but we will dance
- 4:46Speaker 4: if you would like to. LSU, I don't know if
- 4:51Speaker 4: they were truly planning on adding those two guys that
- 4:53Speaker 4: were injured during the summer last night before all the
- 4:56Speaker 4: news dropped, but I do know the timing lines up
- 4:59Speaker 4: pretty well with them saying, all right, boss, we heard you.
- 5:03Speaker 4: We'll step back in line. And we talked about this
- 5:06Speaker 4: with LSU. Like, was the juice worth the squeeze? Probably not.
- 5:09Speaker 4: They're probably a playoff team. And you just had this
- 5:12Speaker 4: huge win against Clemson and beat their brains. Like, it
- 5:15Speaker 4: just became time for things to be done. So, no,
- 5:18Speaker 4: I don't think the S. Now, I think there is
- 5:20Speaker 4: a path where the SEC would have maybe done something
- 5:23Speaker 4: if LSU continued to push back. I don't think the
- 5:26Speaker 4: SEC liked the brashness as much as I liked hearing
- 5:30Speaker 4: Lane Kiffin talk.
- 5:32Speaker 1: In that interview with Holly Rose, say what he said,
- 5:33Speaker 1: because they hated it. They, they hate that, man. They
- 5:36Speaker 1: don't want to be, they don't want to be shown up.
- 5:38Speaker 4: It's one thing to disagree, but go to Florida state
- 5:42Speaker 4: and Clemson, like Florida state's like Mike Norvell wasn't doing interviews.
- 5:46Speaker 4: Dabble wasn't doing interviews at halftime of the show saying,
- 5:49Speaker 4: that's why we want to get out of this shithole.
- 5:50Speaker 4: You know, like there's a little bit of like decorum
- 5:53Speaker 4: that needs to happen. And so I think the sec
- 5:54Speaker 4: got very blood hurt about that, whether that's deserved or not.
- 5:57Speaker 4: And they just said, okay, if we got to take
- 5:59Speaker 4: this to, uh, If we've got to threaten to pull
- 6:02Speaker 4: one out, we will. LSU said, no thanks.
- 6:07Speaker 5: We don't want to dance anymore. Tom?
- 6:09Speaker 6: I've always been a fan of people or entities that
- 6:12Speaker 6: find loopholes.
- 6:14Speaker 5: Maybe not break the rules. I certainly don't approve of that.
- 6:16Speaker 6: But there's gaps, obviously, in this current era of college football.
- 6:22Speaker 6: So part of me looks at what LSU has been
- 6:24Speaker 6: doing in a multitude of sports, as Cole laid out.
- 6:26Speaker 6: And they're looking at the playing field and they're seeing, okay, well,
- 6:29Speaker 6: right now this is legal, so I can pursue this
- 6:32Speaker 6: to the best competitive advantage that LSU can have. So
- 6:36Speaker 6: while I don't approve of it, there was nothing blatantly
- 6:40Speaker 6: illegal about it. It was more ethical and moral that
- 6:42Speaker 6: we were coming after LSU. To be clear, I don't
- 6:45Speaker 6: approve of it. I don't think professional players should be
- 6:47Speaker 6: playing college athletics. But LSU was like, hey, let's push
- 6:50Speaker 6: this up until the 11th hour because no one has
- 6:53Speaker 6: said that we can't do this or at least put
- 6:54Speaker 6: it in writing. And then when it is put in writing,
- 6:56Speaker 6: we've gone to court, then yeah, we'll back off. I
- 6:59Speaker 6: was posing this question to you guys in.
- 7:01Speaker 5: Our group text.
- 7:02Speaker 6: Would it really be so bad if LSU went independent?
- 7:07Speaker 6: Could LSU handle itself?
- 7:08Speaker 5: And the answer is yes. Probably.
- 7:10Speaker 6: LSU absolutely could handle itself. Do they want to do
- 7:13Speaker 6: it in week two of the college football season?
- 7:15Speaker 5: Absolutely not.
- 7:16Speaker 4: Hey, guys, I'll get right back to the clip of
- 7:17Speaker 4: the power two here on College Football Addiction. But first,
- 7:19Speaker 4: we picked all of these. more or less options on
- 7:22Speaker 4: our live show, The Power 2. You can go check

- 7:39Speaker 4: $ 150 in lineups if they win. I've heard from several
- 7:41Speaker 4: of you who've already done this. A lot of fun
- 7:43Speaker 4: lines this week. Go check them out. We appreciate PrizePix
- 7:46Speaker 4: for their support. I took the more in just about everything.
- 7:48Speaker 4: I got the less in Arch Manning's total, Go check
- 7:51Speaker 4: out the PrizePix app. We appreciate them for their support.
- 7:54Speaker 5: If you're going to do this, you want to do
- 7:55Speaker 5: it on your own terms.
- 7:56Speaker 6: You don't want to be ejected midseason and have to
- 7:58Speaker 6: be kind of figuring things out, maybe from a media
- 8:01Speaker 6: rights deal. Maybe ESPN just already owns that. I don't
- 8:04Speaker 6: understand all the legalese, so that might be something else.
- 8:06Speaker 6: But you're telling me Lane Kiffin isn't chummy enough with
- 8:09Speaker 6: the people at ESPN who are practically living in his
- 8:12Speaker 6: house for the past year in Oxford, Mississippi? to the
- 8:16Speaker 6: point that he's like, hey, we might be just done
- 8:18Speaker 6: with the SEC. We can make a boatload more money
- 8:21Speaker 6: as an independent program. And if anything, if you were
- 8:24Speaker 6: to compare Notre Dame as an independent to LSU as
- 8:27Speaker 6: an independent, which one's the more coveted job? Which one
- 8:30Speaker 6: has more resources? Which one has more access to players?
- 8:34Speaker 6: Which one has a better pipeline in terms of recruiting?
- 8:36Speaker 6: Which one has more money to play with in terms
- 8:38Speaker 6: of the transfer portal? Oh, by the way, which one
- 8:40Speaker 6: has a whole state government behind it because emotion governs
- 8:44Speaker 6: college football? This is a fascinating subject. I don't think
- 8:48Speaker 6: LSU is going to push this so far that they
- 8:51Speaker 6: get ejected from the SEC this week. But I can
- 8:57Speaker 6: see why they pushed it right up into the goal line.
- 8:59Speaker 4: Well, not just Notre Dame. but BYU did fine as
- 9:04Speaker 4: an independent too. And it launched them into getting a
- 9:06Speaker 4: big 12 spot.
- 9:07Speaker 5: You guys are doing great right now, guys.
- 9:09Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 9:10Speaker 4: The, I mean, it's been a long time and we
- 9:13Speaker 4: obviously think the way we think about the ACC right now,
- 9:16Speaker 4: and it's a lot different, but yeah, Florida state did
- 9:18Speaker 4: really well as an independent.
- 9:19Speaker 1: Now that's a different T that's a different time, right?
- 9:21Speaker 4: Like I understand that that was back, but they Florida
- 9:24Speaker 4: state would go play anybody anywhere.
- 9:25Speaker 1: And you want to know why they have such a
- 9:27Speaker 1: big brand now?
- 9:28Speaker 4: Cause they went and played in the big house three
- 9:29Speaker 4: times and they wouldn't play to Ohio state like four times.
- 9:32Speaker 4: They wouldn't play Nebraska up there a ton of times
- 9:35Speaker 4: in their heyday. They would play Penn state. They'd play
- 9:37Speaker 4: all the sec schools. They go look at Florida state's
- 9:40Speaker 4: record against the sec. They've played more sec schools, not
- 9:42Speaker 4: just because they play Florida every year than anybody else.
- 9:44Speaker 4: Cause Bobby was like, yeah, we'll play anybody put us
- 9:46Speaker 4: on TV. Let's go, let's go play. And that's why
- 9:49Speaker 4: they are a national brand now. And so, yeah, I
- 9:53Speaker 4: LSU could certainly do it. I don't know. I think, yeah,
- 9:58Speaker 4: that's where I think it's two conversations is I don't
- 10:00Speaker 4: think the, if the SEC, if, if LSU went to
- 10:02Speaker 4: him and said, Hey, we're, we're leaving. I think the
- 10:05Speaker 4: SEC would say, fine, we'll be fine without you. And
- 10:07Speaker 4: I think LSU would be fine on their end too.
- 10:09Speaker 5: Like both parties would be fine. Yeah.
- 10:11Speaker 4: I don't think it's like, Oh man, LSU would wander
- 10:13Speaker 4: in the desert of independence for, 30 years trying to
- 10:16Speaker 4: crawl their way back.
- 10:17Speaker 1: No, I think they'd both be fine. I think they'd say, yeah,
- 10:20Speaker 1: we will keep being the SEC.
- 10:21Speaker 3: Let me ask you guys, percentage-wise of LSU fans that
- 10:25Speaker 3: would welcome the chance to be independent.
- 10:27Speaker 2: What do you think it's at?
- 10:28Speaker 1: Say that again?
- 10:29Speaker 3: What do you think the percentage-wise of LSU fans who
- 10:33Speaker 3: hear that they are now being forced to bend the
- 10:36Speaker 3: knee to the mighty Greg Sankey and the SEC, and
- 10:39Speaker 3: they hear that there's an option about being independent, how
- 10:41Speaker 3: many of them do you think would actually agree with
- 10:43Speaker 3: that sentiment?
- 10:44Speaker 5: Probably 50-50.
- 10:45Speaker 4: Yeah, I was going to say a little less than
- 10:47Speaker 4: half because a lot of your traditionalists won't want to.
- 10:49Speaker 2: I go 70-30 in favor of it.
- 10:51Speaker 5: In favor?
- 10:52Speaker 2: I do.
- 10:53Speaker 4: I think, here's where I'll push back on that. I'm
- 10:56Speaker 4: good disagreeing. I think that we, because of what we
- 10:59Speaker 4: do and where we live, the space that we're in
- 11:03Speaker 4: is very social media heavy. I'd say it's 70-30 on
- 11:07Speaker 4: social media, active, crazy people like this.
- 11:10Speaker 1: I think your old school.
- 11:12Speaker 4: traditionalist conservative boosters, it's probably the opposite.
- 11:16Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 11:17Speaker 4: The comparison I'll make is everybody for the last year
- 11:20Speaker 4: on social media has been firing Mike Norvell. And then
- 11:22Speaker 4: all the old rich people in Tallahassee were still going
- 11:24Speaker 4: to games at the end of the year last year.
- 11:26Speaker 5: After losing it.
- 11:27Speaker 4: So that's where I think the split is. I think
- 11:29Speaker 4: your younger, that's just me guessing. I'm not going to
- 11:31Speaker 4: pretend that I have a complete reading on the Baton.
- 11:34Speaker 1: Rouge fan base.
- 11:35Speaker 4: I think your younger people, your younger inundated folks would
- 11:37Speaker 4: be like, F them, let's go. And your older conservative
- 11:41Speaker 4: booster type, you know, they probably would be like, guys,
- 11:44Speaker 4: we're a founding member. My grandfather was in this car,
- 11:46Speaker 4: you know, like they like the history and stuff. So
- 11:48Speaker 4: that's where I think the split would be.
- 11:49Speaker 3: The thing that I would say that you fight back
- 11:51Speaker 3: on is Notre Dame, with their revenue and what they
- 11:54Speaker 3: bring on in per year in annual distribution, would be
- 11:57Speaker 3: still significantly higher than LSU. I've heard some LSU fans
- 12:00Speaker 3: come out of their way and say, oh, well, we
- 12:02Speaker 3: think that we can hold our own and make just
- 12:04Speaker 3: as much money as Notre Dame.
- 12:05Speaker 2: I don't think that whatsoever. I can't see that scenario.
- 12:09Speaker 2: But I do think that you would be.
- 12:10Speaker 3: Able to function as an independent program.
- 12:13Speaker 2: I think you'd be able to make a schedule.
- 12:14Speaker 3: I think more specifically, because if you wouldn't have to
- 12:17Speaker 3: worry about the rulings that come from the outside of
- 12:20Speaker 3: what needs to happen with 5-5 and TROs and whatnot.
- 12:24Speaker 2: you would be able to govern.
- 12:25Speaker 3: Yourself to where you could allow these players to join
- 12:28Speaker 3: your team, and maybe teams won't schedule you, and that's
- 12:31Speaker 3: on their business, but you could make it work for yourself.
- 12:34Speaker 2: I just don't think.
- 12:35Speaker 3: I think the LSU would make more money staying in
- 12:37Speaker 3: the SEC, but they wouldn't be barren at the bottom
- 12:41Speaker 3: of the cupboard begging for change on the side of
- 12:43Speaker 3: the street for matchups, because.
- 12:44Speaker 2: If it's still LSU.
- 12:46Speaker 3: Their entire environment is completely different than anywhere else in
- 12:50Speaker 3: the sport. I've told you guys this multiple times. I've
- 12:52Speaker 3: said it here multiple times. I think the greatest job
- 12:55Speaker 3: when run properly in the country in college football is LSU.
- 12:58Speaker 2: Because it's just different down there.
- 13:01Speaker 3: We make fun of them because of, oh, they're just
- 13:03Speaker 3: all about the boondocks and living in the woods.
- 13:05Speaker 2: It's like, guys, you don't understand.
- 13:08Speaker 3: Baton Rouge is not a real place, but it is
- 13:10Speaker 3: to those people and they embrace it. The people of
- 13:12Speaker 3: Louisiana are not real people, but they are real people
- 13:15Speaker 3: to their environment. They would be able to thrive on
- 13:18Speaker 3: their own. It just wouldn't be at the same level
- 13:20Speaker 3: of what we witnessed. And I think that you brought
- 13:22Speaker 3: up a good point with BYU. BYU is profiting now
- 13:26Speaker 3: more in.
- 13:27Speaker 2: The Big 12. It didn't mean that they weren't profiting
- 13:30Speaker 2: though as an independent.
- 13:32Speaker 1: Correct.
- 13:32Speaker 4: And you think about with LSU, the one thing I
- 13:35Speaker 4: would say is I think that, to Cole's point, they
- 13:40Speaker 4: would be able to govern themselves. And then you brought
- 13:43Speaker 4: up the counterpoint to that. You look at Notre Dame.
- 13:47Speaker 4: Notre Dame doesn't go rogue the way that I think
- 13:50Speaker 4: LSU fans would want the folks in Baton Rouge to
- 13:53Speaker 4: go rogue. where it's like, hey, we're just going to
- 13:55Speaker 4: play whoever we want. These will be our rules, and
- 13:58Speaker 4: a judge will rule in our favor. Because then I
- 14:00Speaker 4: do think you get into a scheduling problem. Shoot, you
- 14:02Speaker 4: almost had Texas Tech running. You had people canceling Texas
- 14:05Speaker 4: Tech series in softball because of what they were doing.
- 14:08Speaker 4: So I do think LSU would need to be careful
- 14:10Speaker 4: with that. There's always an aspect of like, yeah, you
- 14:14Speaker 4: might be the biggest bully on the playground, but And
- 14:17Speaker 4: if you go so rogue that people just won't play
- 14:20Speaker 4: with you, then yeah, I mean, it's going to be
- 14:21Speaker 4: tough to, I mean, you're going to have 12 by games,
- 14:24Speaker 4: you know, like where you just played 12.
- 14:25Speaker 1: No, but like people will stop playing if they left
- 14:28Speaker 1: the sec. Okay. Here's a question.
- 14:30Speaker 4: If they left the sec, say it was for next year.
- 14:33Speaker 4: does Greg Sankey let any SEC program schedule them next year?
- 14:37Speaker 4: Or does he put a rule in that says you're
- 14:39Speaker 4: not scheduling them? And would any of the presidents, even
- 14:42Speaker 4: if there wasn't a rule, would any of the presidents
- 14:43Speaker 4: do it after voting them out?
- 14:45Speaker 2: Right.
- 14:46Speaker 5: It's a great point.
- 14:47Speaker 6: The second that you are one of those schools that
- 14:49Speaker 6: votes for LSU to be ejected from the SEC, that's
- 14:54Speaker 6: a whole thing. I think from a macro standpoint, LSU
- 14:57Speaker 6: should stay in the SEC, despite the things I was
- 14:59Speaker 6: just outlining. If I'm Lane Kiffin, I'm also like, hey,
- 15:02Speaker 6: I wanted to push the boundary, push the envelope, but
- 15:05Speaker 6: I didn't want to deal with all this. If you're
- 15:08Speaker 6: talking about taking a job the caliber of LSU, Lane
- 15:11Speaker 6: Kiffin's like, yeah, I want to go coach there. And
- 15:13Speaker 6: then if a couple months later they're like, hey, would
- 15:15Speaker 6: you like to lead an upheaval that will lead us
- 15:18Speaker 6: out of the SEC? Lane is probably like, no, I
- 15:21Speaker 6: just wanted to coach at this school ultimately. And then
- 15:25Speaker 6: long term, the name of this show is The Power 2,
- 15:28Speaker 6: the Big Ten and the SEC. We know at some
- 15:31Speaker 6: point in the future, The NCAA is going to get
- 15:33Speaker 6: pushed out, and it's going to be the SEC and
- 15:35Speaker 6: the Big Ten dictating terms within the greater world of
- 15:38Speaker 6: college football, either together or against each other. You want
- 15:41Speaker 6: to be in one of those two houses. So Notre
- 15:44Speaker 6: Dame might be on the outside looking in five, ten
- 15:46Speaker 6: years down the road. I don't think that's going to
- 15:48Speaker 6: be the case. LSU would be wise to stay within
- 15:52Speaker 6: the SEC. And as I said, if they want to
- 15:54Speaker 6: leave in X amount of years, whenever they're able to
- 15:57Speaker 6: on their own accord, Well, great. Then you set up
- 15:59Speaker 6: a nice runway for yourself from a business standpoint. That
- 16:01Speaker 6: makes way more sense than making an emotional decision on
- 16:04Speaker 6: September 9th.
- 16:06Speaker 3: I just, when you said that Lane doesn't want to
- 16:09Speaker 3: lead an upheaval of departing the SEC, I fight back
- 16:13Speaker 3: because of Lane.
- 16:14Speaker 2: I just, I don't know if he wants to do that,
- 16:16Speaker 2: but Lane's not afraid to talk Matt smack.
- 16:19Speaker 3: Lane, at a halftime, DeHolly Rowe said, imagine if we
- 16:22Speaker 3: had NFL players, and in the bylaws that was sent
- 16:25Speaker 3: in by the lawsuit, they threw that line in.
- 16:27Speaker 2: They're like, Lane, shut up with this stuff. Like, it's
- 16:30Speaker 2: getting annoying.
- 16:31Speaker 5: At this point.
- 16:32Speaker 6: But, Cole, he's not afraid to talk smack, but we've
- 16:34Speaker 6: seen a number of times now in this process that
- 16:36Speaker 6: when the rubber meets the road, so to speak, when
- 16:39Speaker 6: it comes to a.
- 16:40Speaker 5: Point where the SEC is like, hey, knock it off,
- 16:42Speaker 5: he knocks it off.
- 16:44Speaker 2: He's going to have to at this point.
- 16:45Speaker 5: He took this job, what, nine months ago? Ten months ago?
- 16:50Speaker 6: For them to be like, hey, we think so much
- 16:52Speaker 6: of ourselves after murdering Clemson. We think we're going to
- 16:56Speaker 6: leave the SEC. Lane, are you cool with that? Maybe
- 16:58Speaker 6: Lane is the adult in the room, and we have
- 17:01Speaker 6: no idea.
- 17:01Speaker 2: Can you imagine if he's there?
- 17:04Speaker 6: You have senators talking about LSU saying, oh, well, what
- 17:08Speaker 6: we do is we go to court.
- 17:09Speaker 5: That's what we do in this country. It's like, this
- 17:11Speaker 5: is insane.
- 17:12Speaker 3: Well, my favorite part is that Jeff Lange goes from,
- 17:15Speaker 3: we will see you in court, Greg Sankey, to Monday morning.
- 17:18Speaker 2: Can we just play football? Really? Can we just play football?
- 17:22Speaker 3: We could have played football until you guys made this
- 17:25Speaker 3: a giant. I apologize for the language.
- 17:27Speaker 2: I don't really care. A giant shit show at this point.
- 17:30Speaker 3: That being said, I'm not going to put all the
- 17:32Speaker 3: blame on LSU because the main villain in all of this,
- 17:35Speaker 3: which has been the main villain from the very get-go
- 17:38Speaker 3: in everything that goes wrong in the world of sports,
- 17:40Speaker 3: is the NCAA not having.
- 17:42Speaker 2: Its act together.
- 17:43Speaker 3: This falls back on them as the priority culprit of everything. Now,
- 17:48Speaker 3: LSU is not doing itself any favors. But before I
- 17:50Speaker 3: point all my fingers down in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, I'm
- 17:53Speaker 3: at least pointing to it the headwigs up in the NCAA.
- 17:56Speaker 2: Because if you could have solved all this last year,
- 17:59Speaker 2: you didn't.
- 18:00Speaker 3: You put yourself in this position, and now you're sitting
- 18:03Speaker 3: in a world where we are living in a timeline
- 18:06Speaker 3: of football games are legit going on.
- 18:11Speaker 2: And what? We're still arguing who's going to be playing
- 18:14Speaker 2: this year.
