- 0:02Speaker 1: Life Audio. Hey Nathan, thanks for joining me.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Thanks for having me, man, this is awesome.
- 0:08Speaker 1: Nathan Gamble, I'm best known for his roles in Dolphin Tail,
- 0:12Speaker 1: Marley and Me. The Dark Knight has a new movie now.
- 0:15Speaker 1: I'm excited about this one called Bad Counselors. It follows
- 0:18Speaker 1: two frat brothers who pose as counselors at a church
- 0:21Speaker 1: camp at a church youth camp to fulfilled court ordered
- 0:24Speaker 1: community service. Comes out July twenty second. I love that plot, Nathan.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Before we turn to Bad Counselors, you started acting at
- 0:32Speaker 1: such a young age, and so many fans still know
- 0:34Speaker 1: you as Sawyer from Dolphin Tail. Looking back on that
- 0:38Speaker 1: role today, what did that mean for your career? And secondly,
- 0:42Speaker 1: what is it like to be an actor who is
- 0:45Speaker 1: known for something that maybe you would wish everybody else
- 0:50Speaker 1: would know about your other stuff as well?
- 0:51Speaker 2: You know?
- 0:53Speaker 1: Wow?
- 0:54Speaker 2: Great one two punch questions. Well, I'm gonna ask this
- 0:57Speaker 2: second one. First, I don't get any recognition for or
- 1:00Speaker 2: the anti smoking commercial I did in two thousand and five.
- 1:03Speaker 2: That kid who was coughing on the couch, that was me.
- 1:06Speaker 2: I don't think I've had anyone come up to me
- 1:07Speaker 2: and say Hey, can you sign my vape or sign
- 1:10Speaker 2: my cigarette? But maybe one day, no, I think. Man,
- 1:15Speaker 2: I've been so blessed, unfortunate to be a part of
- 1:17Speaker 2: so many, so many cool projects, and being Sawyer and
- 1:21Speaker 2: Dolphintale has been really the gift that keeps on giving
- 1:25Speaker 2: because I look very different than I did in that movie.
- 1:29Speaker 2: I'm a little blonder, a little older, definitely a little blinder,
- 1:34Speaker 2: and yet there are still people who are recognize you, like, hey,
- 1:37Speaker 2: are you the kid?
- 1:38Speaker 1: Are you dolphin boy?
- 1:39Speaker 2: That's usually the go too, are you dolphin boy? My
- 1:42Speaker 2: parents call me dolphin boy. So it's just a part
- 1:44Speaker 2: of my that'll be on my tombstone, I'm sure. But
- 1:48Speaker 2: I get to see that these people who were inspired
- 1:51Speaker 2: by the movie as a kid are now having their
- 1:55Speaker 2: own kids and they're showing their kids that movie. So
- 1:59Speaker 2: it really isn't to be a part of a movie
- 2:01Speaker 2: that really feels generationally loved.
- 2:05Speaker 1: And that's all an actor ever really.
- 2:06Speaker 2: Wants to do is be a part of someone's I mean,
- 2:10Speaker 2: even on my TikTok when people come in, they're like,
- 2:12Speaker 2: because of this movie, I wanted to become a rem riologist,
- 2:15Speaker 2: And that's there, It is there, we go. We inspired
- 2:17Speaker 2: someone to do something that they are are passionate about,
- 2:20Speaker 2: and that's worthy work. So that I mean, I'm I
- 2:24Speaker 2: can talk about dolphin till all day and I'm not
- 2:26Speaker 2: like cringed out. People always ask like, is it kind
- 2:28Speaker 2: of cringe that you're like talking about it? Like almost
- 2:31Speaker 2: Let's see that was twenty ten, sixteen years later, and
- 2:36Speaker 2: to me, I go, no, this is awesome. I love
- 2:40Speaker 2: talking call me dolphin boy, I don't care typecast me
- 2:43Speaker 2: is the one who swims with dolphins.
- 2:45Speaker 1: I don't care.
- 2:46Speaker 2: I love working on both those movies Dolf until one
- 2:49Speaker 2: and two and seeing kids who are inspired by it,
- 2:51Speaker 2: seeing adults who are inspired by it, and having just
- 2:54Speaker 2: a little sliver of the pie in regards to how
- 2:58Speaker 2: the impacts and why people love it so much is
- 3:01Speaker 2: such an honor. And then in regards to like what
- 3:04Speaker 2: I want to be wrecked another thing to like, I
- 3:07Speaker 2: wish I was recognized by I. I was in this
- 3:10Speaker 2: really cool random movie called The Whole, which was directed
- 3:13Speaker 2: by Joe Dante. I think it still is like my
- 3:16Speaker 2: most fun I had on set. I fought like a
- 3:19Speaker 2: gesture marionette clown. It was like a goosebump style horror
- 3:22Speaker 2: film for kids, and I think it only aired or
- 3:26Speaker 2: it only was in Europe, but people there's like kind
- 3:30Speaker 2: of a cult following behind it because Joe Dante did
- 3:33Speaker 2: Gremlins and so anything that he touches people people really
- 3:37Speaker 2: cling to. But I love that movie so much. I
- 3:39Speaker 2: can't wait to show my my kids that one that
- 3:42Speaker 2: re turned like ten eleven like a good fun creepy
- 3:44Speaker 2: movies is a good time for a kid.
- 3:48Speaker 1: But so many people do. So many actors and actresses,
- 3:51Speaker 1: you know, have full careers and never even strike gold
- 3:54Speaker 1: like you struck with with Dolphin Deel. So it's pretty
- 3:56Speaker 1: cool to do that, even if it's early in life,
- 3:59Speaker 1: and you know obvious it was a screingboard for your career,
- 4:02Speaker 1: wasn't it.
- 4:02Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean I had done some things before that.
- 4:05Speaker 2: I think The Mist with a Stephen King movie directed
- 4:10Speaker 2: by Frank Derbon. I did that one, but a lot
- 4:12Speaker 2: of the stuff that I did was supporting roles. And then,
- 4:14Speaker 2: of course the biggest little part I've ever had is
- 4:18Speaker 2: in The Dark Night. I played Commissioner Gordon's son, and
- 4:21Speaker 2: that is the role I think I forget about the
- 4:28Speaker 2: most because of how much.
- 4:30Speaker 1: I love that movie.
- 4:31Speaker 2: Like, I'll show people that movie and they'll be like,
- 4:34Speaker 2: you just want me to see you in this, and
- 4:36Speaker 2: I go, I promise you, I promise you. That is
- 4:39Speaker 2: not the reason. It's because this is one of the
- 4:41Speaker 2: greatest movies ever made. I forget that I'm in it.
- 4:44Speaker 2: I love it so much. But yeah, nothing too Big
- 4:48Speaker 2: Tail Dolph until happened, and then that sort of open
- 4:52Speaker 2: the floodgates in a way of like, hey, this guy
- 4:55Speaker 2: can this guy could be you know, number one on
- 4:57Speaker 2: the call sheet and not completely tank it.
- 4:59Speaker 1: So yeah, Nathan, you're a person of faith, of course,
- 5:05Speaker 1: and Hollywood can be a difficult place if you are
- 5:07Speaker 1: a person of faith. How have you been able to
- 5:08Speaker 1: stay true to your beliefs and build a career?
- 5:12Speaker 2: Great question, Michael. Most of my career I was not
- 5:17Speaker 2: a believer. My parents were.
- 5:19Speaker 1: They love the Lord.
- 5:20Speaker 2: My mom prayed for me all the time. I knew
- 5:23Speaker 2: all the rhythms of being a Christian because they took
- 5:25Speaker 2: me to church every Sunday. I got confirmed or Lutheran Church,
- 5:30Speaker 2: and I got baptized as an infant. I didn't think
- 5:32Speaker 2: I knew the creed and I did all the things,
- 5:35Speaker 2: but it was all head like. It was all like, Okay,
- 5:38Speaker 2: this is just for my parents and just to appease
- 5:40Speaker 2: them because I love them so much and I still do.
- 5:42Speaker 2: And I didn't have anything in my heart for it though,
- 5:46Speaker 2: Like it was all acting in a way, and so
- 5:52Speaker 2: most of my career I wasn't. Until I turned nineteen,
- 5:55Speaker 2: I was living by myself, classic case of fresh out
- 6:01Speaker 2: of school thinking you know everything when really you know
- 6:04Speaker 2: absolutely nothing. I moved out of my house, I moved
- 6:08Speaker 2: to La lived by myself as an eighteen year old,
- 6:11Speaker 2: terriable choice by the way, horrible because I was working
- 6:15Speaker 2: a lot, but I had no community, I had no friends.
- 6:19Speaker 2: Isolation is the devil's playground. And then that's when I
- 6:22Speaker 2: hint a true all time low rock bottom considered ending
- 6:27Speaker 2: it all, and then through a friend of a friend
- 6:30Speaker 2: of a friend of a friend, I met this dean
- 6:33Speaker 2: of a Bible college and he's like, hey, you should
- 6:34Speaker 2: give us a whirl, and I was like, no, thanks, though,
- 6:39Speaker 2: but then eventually I just my heart softened towards the
- 6:42Speaker 2: idea of it because I started interacting with the students
- 6:44Speaker 2: there and the other faculty members, and they were just
- 6:47Speaker 2: so genuinely joyful, which I've never experienced before. I experienced happiness,
- 6:52Speaker 2: but this joyfulness and I didn't really know what it
- 6:55Speaker 2: was at the time, but this joyfulness that they had
- 6:57Speaker 2: was something higher than I had experience before.
- 7:00Speaker 1: So that I said yes to.
- 7:01Speaker 2: Go to the Bible College, not believing, and then two
- 7:04Speaker 2: weeks into it got saved. And yeah, most of my career,
- 7:08Speaker 2: in the last seven years, I haven't been working, but
- 7:10Speaker 2: I have been a very strong believer. Gung ho for
- 7:15Speaker 2: the Kingdom, gung ho for the Great Commission.
- 7:18Speaker 1: I'm all in two follow up questions, this is intile.
- 7:22Speaker 1: I didn't know this story. This is a intrible story.
- 7:24Speaker 1: How old were you when your friends started reaching out
- 7:27Speaker 1: to you about their faith and wanting you to explain.
- 7:31Speaker 2: I was nineteen. I was nineteen, and I think they just,
- 7:34Speaker 2: you know, there are no coincidences when it comes to
- 7:37Speaker 2: like God's will, and I think they were just maybe
- 7:40Speaker 2: not even aware of it. They were just being kind, right,
- 7:42Speaker 2: They were just like, Hey, if he's living on him
- 7:44Speaker 2: by himself, we should invite him to some of our
- 7:47Speaker 2: like small groups or some of our just hangs on
- 7:49Speaker 2: the beach in Ventura, that's where the Bible College was
- 7:52Speaker 2: and man, it does, it does. I think people think
- 7:58Speaker 2: the Gospel and the Great commission is I need to
- 8:00Speaker 2: find someone who's not saved and tell them everything that
- 8:02Speaker 2: Jesus has done for them, which is true.
- 8:04Speaker 1: There were sometimes that that happens.
- 8:06Speaker 2: But also I think the great commission is loving people
- 8:10Speaker 2: like Jesus loved them in their season, in their situation,
- 8:14Speaker 2: meeting them where they are, and eventually they're going to
- 8:17Speaker 2: get a whiss that you are operating differently than the
- 8:20Speaker 2: world operates, and they're gonna be like, hey, what do
- 8:22Speaker 2: you have, what's the secret sauce behind what's going on
- 8:25Speaker 2: with you? And they'll initiate it. And that's what happened
- 8:28Speaker 2: with me. Where they were like I wanna say, I
- 8:31Speaker 2: knew they're at Bible College, but they weren't like talking
- 8:33Speaker 2: about Jesus.
- 8:33Speaker 1: The entire time.
- 8:34Speaker 2: We're talking about a whole bunch of other stuff. But
- 8:35Speaker 2: they were so happy and joyful, and they were broke
- 8:39Speaker 2: college students, and yet they had this hope and this
- 8:43Speaker 2: peace which I had never experienced and never experienced peace,
- 8:47Speaker 2: and I wanted that. So I was the one who
- 8:50Speaker 2: initiated and it was life changing. And I think that's
- 8:55Speaker 2: how it is. That's how it should be. And whatever
- 8:57Speaker 2: missions shield that the Lord has called you to, whether
- 8:59Speaker 2: it be Africa or here in the States, at your
- 9:02Speaker 2: job with your friends, you love those people how they
- 9:06Speaker 2: need to be loved at that time, and they will
- 9:08Speaker 2: be like, hey, why are you like this?
- 9:11Speaker 1: And there you go.
- 9:12Speaker 2: You're set up for the perfect anentwer, which is I
- 9:14Speaker 2: wouldn't be like this as it wasn't for what happened
- 9:16Speaker 2: two thousand years ago at cavalry with.
- 9:18Speaker 1: Jesus Amen my goodness. And so did you enroll in
- 9:22Speaker 1: this Bible college?
- 9:24Speaker 2: Did? Yeah? I did, not knowing really what I was
- 9:26Speaker 2: getting into. I was just like, I want to make
- 9:28Speaker 2: some friends. I was so lonely and I wanted some
- 9:32Speaker 2: healthy people in my life. And then by proxy, I
- 9:35Speaker 2: just was like, you know, I I believe this stuff.
- 9:38Speaker 2: I believe in everything that I'm learning. About two weeks
- 9:41Speaker 2: in and yeah, I kind of kept it under wraps
- 9:43Speaker 2: that I was kind of a wouldn't lukewarmon Christian meaning
- 9:48Speaker 2: that you still believed. I kind of did, but it
- 9:50Speaker 2: was I had no root. I had no root. Again,
- 9:54Speaker 2: it was all had knowledge.
- 9:55Speaker 1: I had a lot.
- 9:56Speaker 2: Of understanding of what the Bible was before I even
- 9:58Speaker 2: went there because of how I raised.
- 10:00Speaker 1: But I thought, if there is a god.
- 10:03Speaker 2: Man, he's he's a meniad he's not nice if he
- 10:07Speaker 2: does exist. But then I fully jumped in into the
- 10:12Speaker 2: water literally, you know, metaphorically. I started realizing that the
- 10:17Speaker 2: Lord is he is definitionally a good father.
- 10:23Speaker 1: Your testimony kind of parallels a little bit of the
- 10:26Speaker 1: plot of Bad Counselors. I'm laughing at Yeah, I thinking
- 10:28Speaker 1: about this.
- 10:29Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean it's it's not a perrect parallel, but no, yeah,
- 10:33Speaker 3: you kind of got into college not as a syled
- 10:36Speaker 3: out believer, and these guys, you know, of course, I
- 10:39Speaker 3: think they were far more lost than you work.
- 10:41Speaker 1: But yeah, let's talk about bad counselors though, because this
- 10:44Speaker 1: is a really cool movie coming up July twenty second
- 10:47Speaker 1: and made by some filmmakers included Chris Stalling. You have
- 10:50Speaker 1: made some of my favorite inspiring faith family movies of
- 10:53Speaker 1: all time. How did you get into this and why
- 10:55Speaker 1: do you like the story?
- 11:06Speaker 2: Well, at the end of the day, is it a
- 11:10Speaker 2: Christian movie? Is it faith based? Does it have its
- 11:12Speaker 2: sprinkled Jesus on it? Yes, But at the end of
- 11:16Speaker 2: the day, we want to entertain We want to tell
- 11:19Speaker 2: a compelling story. We want to make the audience laugh.
- 11:22Speaker 2: We want to captivate them with a hero's journey with
- 11:27Speaker 2: the two main characters of being lost and then understanding
- 11:31Speaker 2: that they're actually found in him, but in a subtle
- 11:35Speaker 2: way where it's not over bearing or preacher bashing you
- 11:39Speaker 2: over the head with it. And that's what captivated me
- 11:43Speaker 2: so much. I read the script and it is a
- 11:47Speaker 2: page turner. I was laughing, and it was one of
- 11:51Speaker 2: those things where at the time I was my wife,
- 11:53Speaker 2: but we were dating at the time. I said, I
- 11:56Speaker 2: just read this script, this Christian movie, and she kind
- 11:58Speaker 2: of crinkled her face a little bit because we've experienced
- 12:01Speaker 2: a lot of Christian movies that are kind of garbage,
- 12:06Speaker 2: and I said, this script rules. She's like, wait why.
- 12:11Speaker 1: I was like, it's funny.
- 12:13Speaker 2: It's fun The character that I would play if I
- 12:16Speaker 2: got it, God Willing, is antagonistic but also kind of
- 12:20Speaker 2: charming too.
- 12:21Speaker 1: He's kind of this.
- 12:22Speaker 2: Weird mixture and bad counselors. Is your Christian film where
- 12:28Speaker 2: you could I mean a lot of people say you
- 12:30Speaker 2: can bring your own believers. You're a nunbeliever, friends, and
- 12:32Speaker 2: they'll enjoy it, and then it's you know, mostly Christian
- 12:37Speaker 2: Christianese that you would have to know the insider baseball
- 12:41Speaker 2: into why they're saying this Christian stuff in order to
- 12:43Speaker 2: get any anything from it.
- 12:45Speaker 1: But with Bad.
- 12:46Speaker 2: Counselors that kind of twisted it on its head and goes,
- 12:49Speaker 2: we're actually going to be on the side of the
- 12:52Speaker 2: nun believer. And how weird it is where if you're
- 12:54Speaker 2: not a believer and then people are using Christianese, it's like, wait, what,
- 12:59Speaker 2: I don't know, actually don't know what you're saying. And
- 13:01Speaker 2: it's genius. That's such a great premise. I mean, like
- 13:04Speaker 2: you're saying that the elevator plot is two frat guys
- 13:06Speaker 2: in community service hours so they act like Christians at
- 13:09Speaker 2: a counselor Christian camp. That's a great premise. That's an
- 13:14Speaker 2: awesome premise that immediately grabs you in. And the movie
- 13:17Speaker 2: does that really well. Like you said, Chris Dowing, he knows,
- 13:22Speaker 2: he knows storytelling and he knows the heart moments too,
- 13:25Speaker 2: and Bad Counselors has a great story and then what
- 13:27Speaker 2: it is time to get that heart moment to really hit.
- 13:32Speaker 2: It hits. It's effective and yeah, I'm really happy to
- 13:37Speaker 2: be a part of it. And I already said, but
- 13:39Speaker 2: I want to say it again so it drills into
- 13:40Speaker 2: people's minds. July twenty second through July twenty seventh, get
- 13:43Speaker 2: your tickets as soon as you can, because they are
- 13:46Speaker 2: they're sound like hotcakes.
- 13:48Speaker 1: I know that Chris Doaling was telling me spoken to
- 13:51Speaker 1: about a week with Joego. He was telling me how
- 13:54Speaker 1: him and so many other filmmakers kind of cringe. I
- 13:57Speaker 1: guess this is the word when they hear the phrase
- 14:00Speaker 1: faith based movie, because so many people brush it off
- 14:03Speaker 1: and won't even watch it if they hear that phrase.
- 14:07Speaker 1: And so I understand what you're saying. He was saying, Ow,
- 14:10Speaker 1: it's more like a marketing tool. It's just so that
- 14:13Speaker 1: people who are of faith will know this is, you know,
- 14:16Speaker 1: a friendly movie, right, But there's a there's another side
- 14:20Speaker 1: of that where people who just hate all of them
- 14:23Speaker 1: won't even give it a shot. So it's a double
- 14:26Speaker 1: edged sword there. I know what you're saying. I don't
- 14:27Speaker 1: know if you have any thoughts on that.
- 14:29Speaker 2: No, it's a great perspective I think when it comes
- 14:31Speaker 2: to bad counselors, though, is it's got speaking of a
- 14:35Speaker 2: double edged sword. It's got enough edge. And again it's
- 14:39Speaker 2: not like it's a PG thirteen movie because people are
- 14:42Speaker 2: holding red solo cups basically, like that's the only reason
- 14:45Speaker 2: why it's PG thirteen. But it's got enough social commentary
- 14:49Speaker 2: edge on it that even like when we showed Bad
- 14:53Speaker 2: Counselors to non believing colleges like USC and got their
- 14:59Speaker 2: Jennie and feedback, it got like a ninety percent by
- 15:03Speaker 2: people who aren't even believers because the movie is so
- 15:06Speaker 2: fun and it does gently poke fun and is self
- 15:11Speaker 2: deprecating and like, yeah, sometimes Christian Christians can be a
- 15:14Speaker 2: little silly with how they talk. It kind of brings
- 15:17Speaker 2: down the guard that is inevitably put up. If you're
- 15:21Speaker 2: not a believer and you're watching a Christian movie, right,
- 15:23Speaker 2: your immedioractions across the rounds like all right, what is this?
- 15:27Speaker 1: But when they're already being.
- 15:28Speaker 2: Like, hey, we're aware that at times we can be
- 15:30Speaker 2: a little silly and say some strange stuff, their guard
- 15:35Speaker 2: is down. They're like oh okay, and then their heart
- 15:37Speaker 2: becomes soft towards the message and you go, whoa, this
- 15:41Speaker 2: is working. This is a little seed that now has
- 15:44Speaker 2: been planted, which is another form of the Great Commission
- 15:48Speaker 2: and being a part of that is an honor.
- 15:51Speaker 1: And then to that, let's talk about your future in
- 15:54Speaker 1: this industry. What kind of stories are you trying to
- 15:57Speaker 1: get involved in now? And I asked that knowing that
- 16:00Speaker 1: this is not the only one that you're involved in,
- 16:02Speaker 1: So yeah, well what are you what are you looking
- 16:04Speaker 1: to do now?
- 16:05Speaker 2: So one, I have a movie that is most likely
- 16:09Speaker 2: coming out next year early next year called a Miracle
- 16:11Speaker 2: on the Precipice with Jen Gottsen and it's and Sean
- 16:16Speaker 2: Patrick Flannery. It's a fun tale of kind of a
- 16:21Speaker 2: retelling of the Pilgrim's Progress, modernized pilgrims progress, and it's
- 16:26Speaker 2: going to be a blast. And then the one I'm
- 16:28Speaker 2: working on right now currently as I sit here in
- 16:31Speaker 2: la is a show that I co created called The
- 16:34Speaker 2: Bible College or I use I wrote it all of
- 16:38Speaker 2: my Bible College knowledge of everything that I experienced during
- 16:42Speaker 2: my time not just being in Bible College, but being
- 16:45Speaker 2: in the area when the years of the College were
- 16:49Speaker 2: continuing and helping out with teaching and stuff. It's going
- 16:53Speaker 2: to be a fun show. It's going to be a
- 16:56Speaker 2: very serious show with elements of comedy as well, and
- 17:01Speaker 2: I think it's gonna be a I think it's gonna
- 17:03Speaker 2: be something that people are gonna be talking about for
- 17:05Speaker 2: a while when it eventually comes out. But we're shooting
- 17:07Speaker 2: it right now, so be on the lookout for it.
- 17:10Speaker 1: I'm glad you got involved with Jen Gotson. She's a
- 17:12Speaker 1: super talented pil laker.
- 17:15Speaker 2: Yeah, all roads lead to either Chris Dowling or Jen Gotson.
- 17:20Speaker 2: Every single person who is even a little bit involved
- 17:24Speaker 2: in the faith based world, yeah knows those two people.
- 17:27Speaker 1: I know. I know her and I know him as well.
- 17:29Speaker 1: So yeah, I'm glad. Yeah, I'm glad you're in that circle.
- 17:32Speaker 1: So this is kind of the realm you want to
- 17:33Speaker 1: stay in, I'm assuming is to stay in these types
- 17:36Speaker 1: of films that broadly speaking, shine light is that you agree.
- 17:42Speaker 2: I My heart is wherever the Lord has for me today.
- 17:47Speaker 2: So obviously I wouldn't put my name on something that
- 17:51Speaker 2: is completely counter to his messaging or you know, blaspheming
- 17:57Speaker 2: it or degrading it. But I don't want to put
- 18:01Speaker 2: myself just into like, hey, I'm only going to do
- 18:03Speaker 2: faith based stuff because I want to be on sets too,
- 18:05Speaker 2: where I can just be a light like I was
- 18:07Speaker 2: saying before, I don't need to be like looking around
- 18:09Speaker 2: seeing like okay, who's sitting who needs to hear the gospel?
- 18:12Speaker 2: I just need to. My dad gave me three really
- 18:16Speaker 2: good pointers on how to be successful, not just an actor,
- 18:20Speaker 2: but just successful. Is show up early, not on time.
- 18:25Speaker 2: Memorize people's names, memorize your lines. Basically, just be prepared
- 18:30Speaker 2: for it. And in doing those three things, I'm loving
- 18:34Speaker 2: on people. By knowing their names, I'm showing that I'm competent.
- 18:38Speaker 2: And another way of loving them by like honoring what
- 18:40Speaker 2: they're paying me to do, is by showing up early.
- 18:43Speaker 2: Same with memorizing your lines. Hey, I'm honoring what you
- 18:46Speaker 2: have given me by learning my lines. These are all
- 18:49Speaker 2: Biblical principles, like doing everything unto the Lord. That's what
- 18:53Speaker 2: I want to do, is that if that's on a
- 18:55Speaker 2: set that's more secular, all right, that's what we're having currently, Lord,
- 19:01Speaker 2: like I trust you. Or if it's on a movie
- 19:04Speaker 2: where it's faith based, awesome. If it's a show that
- 19:07Speaker 2: I'm creating, awesome, Whatever you have for me, my hands
- 19:11Speaker 2: are open and I'm I'm ready. Like I think I
- 19:14Speaker 2: used to have a perspective and some people are, which
- 19:18Speaker 2: I don't want to come across as like I'm disregarding
- 19:21Speaker 2: those opinions and people just want to do faith based stuff,
- 19:23Speaker 2: which is fine, But I was there and I had
- 19:27Speaker 2: a skewed perspective on those things because again, I was
- 19:31Speaker 2: on those secular sets. I needed to hear the gospel.
- 19:34Speaker 2: So why should I limit the types of projects that
- 19:40Speaker 2: I want to be a part of just because it's
- 19:42Speaker 2: not inherently a faith based thing.
- 19:46Speaker 1: So that's kind of what my perspective was. A long
- 19:47Speaker 1: win it enter amen everything you said, Hey, yeah, well listen,
- 19:51Speaker 1: you were you were the the movies that you're known for.
- 19:54Speaker 1: I mean, the Dolphin Tail that's not a faith based film,
- 19:57Speaker 1: but it's certainly family friendly, and there's yeah, there's so
- 20:00Speaker 1: many of those. There have been some this year. Project
- 20:02Speaker 1: Till Mary was, I mean, I know, a very expensive movie,
- 20:05Speaker 1: but and it was it was kind of in the
- 20:07Speaker 1: family friendly realm, And how.
- 20:09Speaker 2: Can you not watch that movie and also think like,
- 20:12Speaker 2: I feel like there's some faith based elements here, like
- 20:15Speaker 2: even if they're not even aware of it, when people
- 20:18Speaker 2: write a principle that is inherently biblical, like sacrificing yourself
- 20:24Speaker 2: for another person, I mean we have the greatest example
- 20:27Speaker 2: of that in Jesus. Then they're treading into something that
- 20:30Speaker 2: again they might even be aware of. Maybe they are,
- 20:33Speaker 2: but that does become a faith adjacent, faith inspired project.
- 20:38Speaker 2: Same with did you see Sheep Detective?
- 20:41Speaker 1: I was about to tell you about that? Yes, yes, Lord,
- 20:44Speaker 1: that's a great movie. Amazing, amazing, It's on Fame Movie,
- 20:48Speaker 1: It's on Prime Video now. In fact, I think Project
- 20:50Speaker 1: Tell Mary is as well. So everybody check out those
- 20:53Speaker 1: two men. Yeah, all bad counselors to pay.
- 20:56Speaker 2: And Dolly's gonna get mad if I'm playing other movies.
- 20:59Speaker 1: At July twenties. Second. Yeah, ad counselors. Absolutely, Nathan, great
- 21:03Speaker 1: talking to you, Buddy thinks. Yeah, super good talking to
- 21:04Speaker 1: you as well.
- 21:05Speaker 3: Peace.
