- 0:20Speaker 1: Unfortunately, we're not actually sponsored by Stop that Train, but
- 0:24Speaker 1: that will not stop us from listening, umping for.
- 0:27Speaker 2: It, and from listening all twenty shit all twenty six
- 0:31Speaker 2: cast members. Sorry to the Virgins that you heard a
- 0:33Speaker 2: loud thump by just I'm knocked over the mic because
- 0:35Speaker 2: I was so excited about Stop That Train theaters June twelfth.
- 0:40Speaker 2: I have I made a prediction, and that is that
- 0:43Speaker 2: Stop that Train will have a bigger opening weekend than
- 0:46Speaker 2: Barbie and Oppenheimer combined. Yes, and I actually and will
- 0:50Speaker 2: be more culturally relevant when I tell you that without
- 0:54Speaker 2: any irony. I hope I'm just a justice, thank you.
- 0:59Speaker 2: I hope that Stop that Train is a global box
- 1:05Speaker 2: office phenomenon.
- 1:06Speaker 1: I just I want it to be the Airplane of
- 1:09Speaker 1: our time.
- 1:10Speaker 2: Yes, oh my god.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Literally mean it literally is airplane.
- 1:14Speaker 2: Snakes in a plane, but RuPaul on a train, It
- 1:17Speaker 2: sluts on a train. Well, it's the movie Airplane literally Yeah,
- 1:21Speaker 2: well I've actually never even seen it, but I know
- 1:22Speaker 2: and understand the presence and the kind of absurdist John
- 1:26Speaker 2: Waters the in humor if you will, Yeah.
- 1:29Speaker 1: Airplane airplane is very funny, and I'm I want that
- 1:34Speaker 1: train to drive right into my.
- 1:38Speaker 2: Actually right up in my yes, not into the urethra
- 1:44Speaker 2: like one of.
- 1:44Speaker 1: Like one of those fish that, like, you know how
- 1:47Speaker 1: they always warn you, like if you're in a lake
- 1:49Speaker 1: or something, you shouldn't pee because some of the fish
- 1:52Speaker 1: will like swim up your piss stream into your dick.
- 1:56Speaker 2: Imagine having a sounding fetish like a sound in kink,
- 2:00Speaker 2: but not likely fish. Yeah, no metal bars that go
- 2:04Speaker 2: the urethraa it's just live fish, tiny fish. Imagine that
- 2:08Speaker 2: was my my king.
- 2:09Speaker 1: I actually saw an Instagram reel of a guy who
- 2:12Speaker 1: was walking around Ikia with the sounding rod in what. Yeah,
- 2:18Speaker 1: I don't know if it was a joke or if
- 2:20Speaker 1: it was real. It's kind of like, do you know
- 2:21Speaker 1: that guy? Do you ever see that guy who loves
- 2:24Speaker 1: to make like tiktoks and reels about getting bred at
- 2:28Speaker 1: home depot?
- 2:30Speaker 2: If it's the guy that I mean, not at home depot, No,
- 2:34Speaker 2: but he was a home depot employee, and he would
- 2:36Speaker 2: get functioned the parking lot and probably think of a
- 2:38Speaker 2: different guy. Yeah, there's this guy who's always got fired
- 2:40Speaker 2: from I think he got fired from Home Home. There's
- 2:42Speaker 2: this guy who's always making content about how he's taking
- 2:45Speaker 2: loads in Home depot. Gag. It's hot.
- 2:49Speaker 1: I mean it's his number one cruising spot. Well, to
- 2:52Speaker 1: be honest, it's like that blue collar dick. Then it's
- 2:56Speaker 1: like absolutely cruising spot. But also it's kind of like
- 3:00Speaker 1: not it's not sexy to me.
- 3:02Speaker 2: I don't know why. Maybe it's because I don't really
- 3:03Speaker 2: like home DOOPO have a bit of a trauma around it. Okay,
- 3:07Speaker 2: explain And by trauma, I mean I didn't like going
- 3:09Speaker 2: there as a child, but I liked it was one.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Of those stores that you got dragged to with your
- 3:14Speaker 1: parents that wasn't fun, Like it was like that Sears. Yeah,
- 3:19Speaker 1: and in theory it actually should be fun.
- 3:21Speaker 2: There's like chandeliers. Yeah, there's extreme makeup. We know Sia babes,
- 3:25Speaker 2: we know Siyah extreme homemakeover. Okay, we're gonna be covering
- 3:29Speaker 2: a couple things in this episode that we have already
- 3:32Speaker 2: even touched. We've already touched on, among them, the most
- 3:37Speaker 2: recent and perhaps best episode of Hacks, the lesbian episode.
- 3:41Speaker 1: Although it's kind of hard to call one particular episode
- 3:45Speaker 1: of Hacks the lesbian episode when it was a show,
- 3:49Speaker 1: you know, sort of engineered for lesbians. On Twitter, by
- 3:53Speaker 1: and for by and.
- 3:54Speaker 2: For and starring, We're gonna be talking about if All
- 3:58Speaker 2: Stars Drag Race Allstar Ours Season eleven is worth watching.
- 4:02Speaker 2: We're gonna be talking about John Waters. We're gonna we're
- 4:05Speaker 2: doing a little preview, yeah, topics exactly. We're talking about
- 4:08Speaker 2: the autopsy of Jane Doe and pretty woman Rose and
- 4:12Speaker 2: I are here on Sparkling Fire Island.
- 4:14Speaker 1: Beautiful, freezing cold Fire Island.
- 4:17Speaker 2: We are so happy to be here. Something for all
- 4:20Speaker 2: of the virgins to know is that we, as you

- 4:30Speaker 2: a little burb completely for free. That is sickening. You

- 4:54Speaker 2: of the old format of our show where we deep
- 4:55Speaker 2: dive on a single cultural object, but our weekly episode
- 5:00Speaker 2: in the RSS feed, which will only be temporary. We're
- 5:03Speaker 2: not doing this forever. Yeah, you're gonna put them back
- 5:05Speaker 2: behind your guest.
- 5:06Speaker 1: We're, you know, teasing the girls to get them to
- 5:10Speaker 1: join us over on patreons.
- 5:11Speaker 2: So if you like what you hear, go and subscribe
- 5:14Speaker 2: independent creators, creators. I was about to say journal or
- 5:17Speaker 2: trans art. Yeah, yeah, support trans are protect queer art.
- 5:24Speaker 2: Do what do we want to talk about first, all stars, No,
- 5:26Speaker 2: let's talk about Hacks. Okay, yeah, let's get it out
- 5:28Speaker 2: of the way. So if you're you're probably familiar with
- 5:32Speaker 2: the show Hacks, Emmy Sensation, everybody loves a show. They
- 5:36Speaker 2: recently came out with an episode that.
- 5:39Speaker 1: Which is which is airing its final season right, which
- 5:43Speaker 1: is important.
- 5:43Speaker 2: I think to what the stakes of this episode felt like.
- 5:47Speaker 2: We called it the lesbian episode, but there are actually
- 5:48Speaker 2: so many lesbian episodes. I'm thinking about the one where
- 5:50Speaker 2: they go on to lesbian Cruise.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Or the one where where Ava almost hooks up with
- 5:56Speaker 1: fucking Chustina Hendricks. Right, and she wants to piss on her.
- 6:00Speaker 1: She's like, you were not gonna pee on me? Yes,
- 6:02Speaker 1: I was.
- 6:03Speaker 2: I forgot about Christina Hendricks the Republican, the lesbian Republican. Amazing.
- 6:07Speaker 1: So the premise of this episode, the season so far
- 6:11Speaker 1: has been following Debra as she's preparing to do this
- 6:15Speaker 1: big Madison Square Garden show coming after the end of
- 6:18Speaker 1: her gag order, and so she decides in the most
- 6:22Speaker 1: recent episode that she absolutely needs to wear Carol Burnett's
- 6:28Speaker 1: final look from her show. She decides this because she
- 6:32Speaker 1: has a dream in which she appears naked on stage
- 6:36Speaker 1: and like had a kind of crazy body double. It
- 6:39Speaker 1: was full puss out.
- 6:41Speaker 2: Yeah, it was giving, kind of like Jimbo. It was
- 6:45Speaker 2: giving like Jimbo, full body trusthetic.
- 6:49Speaker 1: It was very boobs for Queens dot com. It was
- 6:51Speaker 1: boobs for Queens dot com dot org. And then her
- 6:54Speaker 1: teeth fall teeth falling out, classically assigned like the most
- 6:58Speaker 1: common dream anyone, which is like a sign for anxiety
- 7:01Speaker 1: go figure instead. But instead of think realizing what it
- 7:04Speaker 1: actually means, which is that she needs to you know,
- 7:07Speaker 1: work on her material, she decides that she needs to
- 7:09Speaker 1: work on material aka fashion so she calls her psychic.
- 7:14Speaker 1: She is I love the psychic. The psychic is one
- 7:16Speaker 1: of my favorite characters. She's just kind of this, I mean,
- 7:19Speaker 1: she sounds unhealthy. She's kind of like she sounds like
- 7:21Speaker 1: she's been smoking ten packs a day for the past
- 7:24Speaker 1: thirty years.
- 7:24Speaker 2: Exactly. Yes, and she has to must procure this. Bob
- 7:29Speaker 2: Mackie and let me tell.
- 7:31Speaker 1: You, Oh my god, Bob Mackie cameo.
- 7:33Speaker 2: Bob Mackie cameo in this episode was so fire.
- 7:36Speaker 1: He was like, I can't make you address, like, I
- 7:38Speaker 1: make one for you. And then all of a sudden,
- 7:40Speaker 1: Sabrina Carpenter's standing outside my house with a sewing machine
- 7:43Speaker 1: and a gun.
- 7:45Speaker 2: A really good joke. Also, like I I would say
- 7:50Speaker 2: that Debra Vance is like sow me, I am the
- 7:53Speaker 2: girl that's like, I have so much real material to prepare,
- 7:58Speaker 2: and instead of using the last thirty minutes wisely, I
- 8:03Speaker 2: will use it to like do my makeup and my hair,
- 8:05Speaker 2: yes that I look good.
- 8:07Speaker 1: Absolutely trying to find the actually least important thing that
- 8:11Speaker 1: you need to do and focus on that instead of
- 8:14Speaker 1: the actual big important.
- 8:16Speaker 2: Thing you have. So relatable. And so Debra Vance finds
- 8:18Speaker 2: out that this Bob Mackie Carroll like number that Carol
- 8:22Speaker 2: Burnett that was made for Carol Burnett exists in Cherry
- 8:27Speaker 2: you know one Cherry Jones hands. She's playing a Ellen
- 8:31Speaker 2: DeGeneres like very famous rich lesbian comedian who also has
- 8:37Speaker 2: her own Porschia to Rassi as it were played by
- 8:40Speaker 2: I can't remember her name.
- 8:41Speaker 1: Her name is Leslie Bibb. Iconically from the most recent
- 8:44Speaker 1: season of The White Lotus. She has the County Bob
- 8:47Speaker 1: and she I am number one on her Emmy campaign
- 8:52Speaker 1: for guest star for this episode, she is pitch perfect.
- 8:57Speaker 2: We should have the entire thing. We need to host
- 8:59Speaker 2: f why see events or Leslie Bibb.
- 9:02Speaker 1: Like unofficial, unauthorized like she keeps dming us like girls.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Please stop, please stop, please stop hosting these FOYC events.
- 9:10Speaker 2: They're non compliant with the Academy.
- 9:12Speaker 1: Please stop tagging me and please stop sending me new
- 9:15Speaker 1: Please stop threatening OSCAR voters would not actually a lesbian.
- 9:20Speaker 2: Yeah, which would be a lie. She's a lesbian.
- 9:23Speaker 1: So there's this great scene where where Deborah you know
- 9:30Speaker 1: invites invites Kelly Kirkpatrick is her name in an episode
- 9:34Speaker 1: invites Cherry Jones's character out to lunch at her apology
- 9:37Speaker 1: table at Spago, which I love the idea that she
- 9:40Speaker 1: has an apology table.
- 9:41Speaker 2: That's really smarts.
- 9:43Speaker 1: I feel like I should have an apology table.
- 9:45Speaker 2: Where would it be the coffee.
- 9:47Speaker 1: Shop across across the street from my house or the
- 9:49Speaker 1: cheesecake factory. Cheesecake factory would be great because you have
- 9:53Speaker 1: that positive association association of the cheesecake factory paired with
- 9:57Speaker 1: the responsibility of what you have to do at this table, yes.
- 9:59Speaker 2: Yes, and to have free bread.
- 10:02Speaker 1: So, because Ava comes to give Deborah her phone, and obviously,
- 10:09Speaker 1: like their dynamic, the lines are so blurred. Cherry Jones
- 10:13Speaker 1: assumes that Deborah is actually a lesbian and that's why
- 10:15Speaker 1: Deborah was so mean to her when she came out,
- 10:18Speaker 1: thus starting this feud between them, and so she invites
- 10:22Speaker 1: Deborah and Ava to spend the weekend with her and
- 10:25Speaker 1: her wife in their beautiful Montecito house.
- 10:28Speaker 2: And under the presumption that Debra Vents and Hannah Inminder
- 10:33Speaker 2: what's her character's name, Ava, Ava are lesbian lesbians, they
- 10:40Speaker 2: must spend this weekend together, and it obviously very immediately
- 10:43Speaker 2: becomes like swinger vibes. It's clear that Cherry Jones and
- 10:45Speaker 2: her wife are swingers. I don't know swingers.
- 10:48Speaker 1: They're open. It's not that they all wanted to have sex,
- 10:53Speaker 1: It's that the wife wanted to have sex specifically with Ava.
- 10:56Speaker 2: Kind of maybe the reason I choose the term swingers
- 10:59Speaker 2: over like kind of group sex polyamory is like swingers
- 11:02Speaker 2: is polyamory for heterosexual couples. Like it's like what quote
- 11:08Speaker 2: unquote being open is for heterosexual couples. And they give
- 11:11Speaker 2: more het vibes structurally to me, which is.
- 11:16Speaker 1: Why I'm like, I see what they see where you're
- 11:18Speaker 1: coming from.
- 11:18Speaker 2: Because of their their generation, because of their wealth status,
- 11:22Speaker 2: and their lack of access to culture, a culture of
- 11:24Speaker 2: polyamory and open relationships, my mind would say that they
- 11:28Speaker 2: would use the term. They seem like the kinds of
- 11:29Speaker 2: people that would use the term. Yeah, we swing, but
- 11:32Speaker 2: they do say open. Anyways, we won't tell you like
- 11:35Speaker 2: the entire details of the episode, but but it is
- 11:38Speaker 2: it is the best episode of Hawks, and it's like,
- 11:41Speaker 2: hands down, and you think the incredible premise of the
- 11:45Speaker 2: of the episode, which is like the delicious kind of
- 11:48Speaker 2: like hijinks situational comedy that you like want out of
- 11:52Speaker 2: the show. That's when the show really thrives, is paired
- 11:55Speaker 2: with something that happens halfway through this, like I mean
- 11:59Speaker 2: kind of at the end episode of the climax that
- 12:01Speaker 2: is so shocking and simultaneously devastating, I would say, and
- 12:08Speaker 2: also hilarious and also like complex and like rooted in
- 12:13Speaker 2: the real life experiences of these characters, and like Deborah
- 12:16Speaker 2: and Ava's relationship together. It was so genius.
- 12:20Speaker 1: It just kept the whole episode kept getting better. Every
- 12:24Speaker 1: time I thought it had topped itself, it just got
- 12:27Speaker 1: better and funnier and like more emotional. Yes, it really,
- 12:32Speaker 1: Like I know that. You know, some people might say, like, oh,
- 12:35Speaker 1: you can't really call this the best episode of HACKS
- 12:37Speaker 1: because it's missing so much of what makes HACKS special,
- 12:39Speaker 1: And like I agree. You know, there's no mixed Aalter,
- 12:42Speaker 1: no Jimmy, like all the kooky characters. But the show
- 12:46Speaker 1: at its core has always been about Deborah and Ava,
- 12:49Speaker 1: about their relationship. Yes, and this is a perfect exploration
- 12:53Speaker 1: of it. And I like that it like really it
- 12:57Speaker 1: it is fan service.
- 12:58Speaker 2: In the best way.
- 12:59Speaker 1: Yes, Like, yeah, we know that you want to see
- 13:01Speaker 1: Debrah and Ave a makeout, so we're going to give
- 13:03Speaker 1: it to you, but it's going to be in a
- 13:05Speaker 1: way that still drives the story, the story forward and
- 13:08Speaker 1: makes sense for these characters.
- 13:10Speaker 2: And when I that's when I went going into this episode.
- 13:13Speaker 2: I really thought it was going to be delicious fan
- 13:16Speaker 2: service and like brilliant and that was it, and it
- 13:19Speaker 2: really was so much more than that. I was gagged. Anyways,
- 13:23Speaker 2: love the episode, so go watch it.
- 13:24Speaker 1: Go watch it, Go watch it.
- 13:25Speaker 2: If you've never seen a single episode of Hacks, go no.
- 13:28Speaker 1: I truly believe you could watch it out of context. Yeah,
- 13:32Speaker 1: like a short film.
- 13:33Speaker 2: Prestige television. Okay, speaking of prestige television, All Stars is back,
- 13:39Speaker 2: All Stars is back. I was like, hmm, should we
- 13:42Speaker 2: All Stars came out a couple of days ago, All
- 13:44Speaker 2: Stars Season eleven. Should we watch it? And Roast was
- 13:46Speaker 2: like no, and I was like, you're right, no, And
- 13:49Speaker 2: then I was like, no, actually we should watch it
- 13:51Speaker 2: and then decide we should just tell the virgins whether
- 13:54Speaker 2: it's worth watching. So like, we watched it. Excuse me,
- 13:57Speaker 2: we watched it for you, so you don't have to
- 13:59Speaker 2: You're welcome. This is repeating the structure of like the
- 14:05Speaker 2: insanely complicated like sports brackets system. God it's so complicated.
- 14:10Speaker 2: It's basically like three mini seasons of the show, like
- 14:13Speaker 2: three gribbings.
- 14:15Speaker 1: Yeah, and the top two queens from each bracket then
- 14:18Speaker 1: move on to the semifinals.
- 14:20Speaker 2: And we will honestly go down the line and we'll
- 14:23Speaker 2: talk about almost every queen. So some of them aren't
- 14:27Speaker 2: really worth well, there's only six of them. There's only
- 14:29Speaker 2: six of them.
- 14:30Speaker 1: So my immediate favorite was Akiria Davenport. She loved her
- 14:35Speaker 1: her original season. She is even more pumped. And you know,
- 14:41Speaker 1: her teeth are whiter than I don't like they're the
- 14:46Speaker 1: whitest thing in existence.
- 14:47Speaker 2: Maybe they are blinding. They are like fluorescent like and
- 14:52Speaker 2: not in a bad way. She looks immaculate, gorgeous out
- 14:55Speaker 2: of drag. She looks immaculate in drag. She is is
- 15:00Speaker 2: easily like the best runway on the season. And I
- 15:04Speaker 2: include Don in that, Like, yes, Don maybe like a
- 15:07Speaker 2: scoch behind her, but like her runway is immaculate, like she.
- 15:12Speaker 1: Yeah, that look she made in the second episode.
- 15:15Speaker 2: Was crazy crazy. So would you say she's your number
- 15:19Speaker 2: one pick for this bracket? I think so, okay, I
- 15:22Speaker 2: would say that. I would also I believe put Akiria
- 15:26Speaker 2: as my number one in this bracket. I would literally,
- 15:30Speaker 2: no jokes, sister put for second. Morgan McMichaels, okay.
- 15:35Speaker 1: Morgan McMichael h. Morgan McMichaels. That's a drag queen's drag queen.
- 15:40Speaker 2: That is a drag queen's drag queen, that is, and
- 15:42Speaker 2: also that is drag queen's name. Morgan McMichaels. She is
- 15:47Speaker 2: forty five years old and doing a thirty handspring off
- 15:51Speaker 2: of a box.
- 15:52Speaker 1: And I know what, she's kind of hot out of drags,
- 15:55Speaker 1: a little bit hot out of dragon in a specifically gay,
- 15:58Speaker 1: very kind of methy floridaway. Yeah, like she kind of
- 16:01Speaker 1: looks like Justin Bieber. Yes, but it's working.
- 16:06Speaker 2: Literally like the tan the bleached hair, I think immaculately groaned,
- 16:12Speaker 2: but you can still see her agg I couldn't tell
- 16:13Speaker 2: if her hair was bleached or if it was just gray.
- 16:16Speaker 2: I think it was bleached for sure. For sure. Well,
- 16:18Speaker 2: she like literally, I mean, I think she's just such
- 16:21Speaker 2: a kind of similar thing that I love about Akiria.
- 16:24Speaker 2: A professional, a workhorse, a classic.
- 16:28Speaker 1: She's gonna show up. She's gonna show up, do three
- 16:30Speaker 1: sets of shows. Yes, you know, be there, be there
- 16:33Speaker 1: on time, stay until the minute she gets paid.
- 16:36Speaker 2: Get out, classically classically trained queen, like purebred horse, like
- 16:43Speaker 2: absolutely die for her. She's fab Yeah, she's just like well,
- 16:49Speaker 2: she's just like she's just like the kind of queen
- 16:51Speaker 2: that comes from the generation of queens that were here
- 16:54Speaker 2: before it all capital.
- 16:56Speaker 1: Well, she's an old bitch, that's what That's what we're
- 16:59Speaker 1: really saying is you know, like when the most recent
- 17:02Speaker 1: season of drag Race came, the most recent main season
- 17:05Speaker 1: of drag Race, we were all so like, oh, thank god,
- 17:08Speaker 1: there's actually older queens this season, right, but they were
- 17:11Speaker 1: all like in their early to mid thirties. Yes, I
- 17:15Speaker 1: need to see bitches who were in their forties and
- 17:20Speaker 1: fifties on drag Race and sixties. I want to see seventies.
- 17:23Speaker 2: Bitches that were there slinking mud with rue when they
- 17:27Speaker 2: were building the pyramids. Like I literally like, and okay,
- 17:31Speaker 2: you say like old queen, like to an old queen.
- 17:34Speaker 2: Can it's like a classically trained queen, a queen that
- 17:37Speaker 2: we want to watch. That obviously is not true. We
- 17:39Speaker 2: would get Missty Summers, who is like maybe a little younger,
- 17:43Speaker 2: but honestly like Morgan Michael's makes her look older, like
- 17:46Speaker 2: she feels kind of like.
- 17:47Speaker 1: Well, it's mudgeony. It's just kind of crazy that her
- 17:50Speaker 1: whole narrative is that she was on the show season two.
- 17:55Speaker 1: She's sort of like helped make Untucked a thing. And
- 18:00Speaker 1: most importantly, she's had this insane, you know, body transformation.
- 18:05Speaker 1: She's lost all this weight and yet she looks crazier
- 18:10Speaker 1: than ever. Her drag, particularly the makeup, particularly her color
- 18:14Speaker 1: contacts are OOKI spooky, jump scare, demonic vibes. In her confessional,
- 18:21Speaker 1: I'm sorry, I'm sorry. In her confessional, she is wearing
- 18:25Speaker 1: like an underarmor material quarter zip polo shirt, huge huge
- 18:35Speaker 1: like glow up judge glasses.
- 18:40Speaker 2: They're very, they're very, a.
- 18:42Speaker 1: Snapback baseball hat and waterline electric blue eyeliner, crazy underry.
- 18:52Speaker 1: Like it's just the craziest anyone has ever looked.
- 18:56Speaker 2: She looks in a confession. She looks like a gay
- 19:00Speaker 2: a man that works for an insurance company who forgot
- 19:03Speaker 2: to clean the makeup off from the night out she
- 19:06Speaker 2: just had and only does like two times a year,
- 19:10Speaker 2: like like she gives like she I will say, okay,
- 19:14Speaker 2: I need her on television.
- 19:15Speaker 1: Oh yeah, she's incredibly TV TV. She's so insecure and
- 19:19Speaker 1: weird and so honestly bad at drags. She's not gonna drag.
- 19:23Speaker 1: Looks she made for the like weird, like wonder Woman,
- 19:30Speaker 1: so strange.
- 19:31Speaker 2: I love the breakdeck and dancing looks were kind of
- 19:33Speaker 2: bad except for Dawn actually hers also, I think that
- 19:36Speaker 2: was the only look she did that I actually really loved.
- 19:38Speaker 2: She just wasn't wearing every well. She wore the long
- 19:40Speaker 2: blonde box braids, like really long.
- 19:42Speaker 1: I also like I liked that in the in the
- 19:45Speaker 1: like walk around. When Rue came to talk to them
- 19:48Speaker 1: during the design challenge, she said, too mystique. She was like,
- 19:53Speaker 1: so you've been campaigning to get on All Stars for years? Yes,
- 19:57Speaker 1: I was like, okay, bitch, Like, so I see your
- 20:01Speaker 1: really that she really twisted their arms to get back
- 20:04Speaker 1: on the show.
- 20:04Speaker 2: And uh is it worth it? Actually, yes it is.
- 20:08Speaker 2: It is welcome back, Misteke.
- 20:11Speaker 1: Then, of course we have morphine love Dion. Pussy Fold
- 20:17Speaker 1: Doll had no idea that she was in this horrific
- 20:20Speaker 1: car accident and had to get essentially like her entire
- 20:23Speaker 1: face reconstructed.
- 20:25Speaker 2: I wonder if she can still like split kick dip
- 20:28Speaker 2: it's a real, real travesty.
- 20:30Speaker 1: And she did. She did in the in the right yeah,
- 20:35Speaker 1: the box dancing, the break Dancing challenge. Well, she said
- 20:39Speaker 1: that she did the Vegas show right after the accident.
- 20:43Speaker 2: Okay, right, okay, so she is like up and running.
- 20:47Speaker 2: This is a spoiler. Virgin's absolutely disappointed that Morphine did
- 20:52Speaker 2: not lip sync at all, like Don lip syncing in
- 20:56Speaker 2: these two lipsync some of the two episodes that were
- 20:58Speaker 2: released from the season. I was just like, that should
- 21:01Speaker 2: be Morphine in that place. We need to watch Morphine lipsying.
- 21:03Speaker 2: Don is a bad lipsyner.
- 21:05Speaker 1: She is a bad lipsinger, but she did do better
- 21:07Speaker 1: in those challenges.
- 21:09Speaker 2: I don't think she did better in the break Dancing challenge.
- 21:12Speaker 2: I think I would give it to Morphine first.
- 21:14Speaker 1: Sorry, I actually really agreed with the judges on Morphine,
- 21:17Speaker 1: which is that her look was very distracting and it
- 21:19Speaker 1: distracted from her being the best dancer of all them.
- 21:23Speaker 2: I just wanted the producers to produce and just be like,
- 21:25Speaker 2: actually it's Morphine, and because we want to watch you lipsying,
- 21:28Speaker 2: but maybe there's.
- 21:28Speaker 1: You know, they might be doing that in the way
- 21:31Speaker 1: it's like, oh, this would be good TV because Morphine
- 21:33Speaker 1: is going.
- 21:33Speaker 2: To be plucked. Yeah, morphine is and she was and
- 21:36Speaker 2: is plucked.
- 21:38Speaker 1: She plucked I when Lucky Stars did not give her
- 21:42Speaker 1: that point. Girl, she is so mean. She and Don
- 21:47Speaker 1: are the meanest mean girls to Lucky Stars. And don't
- 21:50Speaker 1: get me wrong, Lucky Stars deserves it. Yeah, because she
- 21:54Speaker 1: should retire from drag immediately.
- 21:57Speaker 2: She's not a drug queen. She's the club kid. No shade,
- 21:59Speaker 2: no shade. I see it on top, look, yeah, see
- 22:02Speaker 2: you it on top.
- 22:03Speaker 1: Go back to Holy Mountain where you belong.
- 22:08Speaker 2: Yeah. Sorry, Paul's dolls. The has done boots. I really
- 22:13Speaker 2: my heart breaks for Lucky Stars. Sometimes. I think that
- 22:17Speaker 2: she did thrive with her Piana and I Doughnut look
- 22:19Speaker 2: like she got. I think she is proven that she
- 22:22Speaker 2: she has artistry. It's just not artistry when we want
- 22:25Speaker 2: to look at.
- 22:26Speaker 1: She's what she is thankfully good at. And I think
- 22:29Speaker 1: the fact that they're there for this entire run of
- 22:32Speaker 1: episodes is helpful. Is that she is leaning into being
- 22:35Speaker 1: dumb and she's making Rue laugh.
- 22:38Speaker 2: Yeah, She's making Rue fucking laugh, which is like the
- 22:40Speaker 2: most important thing to do. Uh. And I would say
- 22:44Speaker 2: that she's kind of almost getting she's like kind of
- 22:46Speaker 2: getting into the drama. She's adjacent to the drama. Something
- 22:49Speaker 2: that I said to you kind of we were watching
- 22:51Speaker 2: the first episode. It had been on for like ten
- 22:54Speaker 2: or twenty minutes, and I turned you and I was like,
- 22:57Speaker 2: it feels like watching old drag race, like classic traditional
- 23:01Speaker 2: like at the at the the cusp of Untucked kind
- 23:05Speaker 2: of drag race.
- 23:06Speaker 1: Because we have some old bitches up in there.
- 23:08Speaker 2: And frankly, the last season of drag Race that just
- 23:12Speaker 2: came out like a couple, you know, seconds ago, we
- 23:15Speaker 2: thought that was gonna be the old school Queen's like
- 23:18Speaker 2: season where they're like doing the untucked thing and like fighting,
- 23:22Speaker 2: but like they're on this season, it's a little it's
- 23:25Speaker 2: pretty subtle, like no one's like, you know, taking their
- 23:27Speaker 2: earrings off. But it's like real drama.
- 23:30Speaker 1: It's more drama than we usually get outside of Untucked. Yeah,
- 23:33Speaker 1: the drama's actually on the main show.
- 23:37Speaker 2: It made me want to watch Untucked. Honestly. Is there
- 23:40Speaker 2: an Untucked for All Stars? I think there is. May
- 23:43Speaker 2: we'll investigate later, but yeah, no, that's how I That's
- 23:46Speaker 2: how I felt about the show and.
- 23:47Speaker 1: General should should you tune back in?
- 23:50Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 23:51Speaker 1: That's kind of up to you. Where I stand on
- 23:53Speaker 1: it is. I'm not gonna get I'm not gonna subscribe
- 23:56Speaker 1: to Paramount Plus to watch it. No, but you know
- 24:00Speaker 1: the next time I come over to your apartment.
- 24:01Speaker 2: Yes, I'll catch up on it exactly, And I would say.
- 24:05Speaker 1: Or actually, can I use your paramount logan? Yeah?
- 24:07Speaker 2: Yeah, you yes you can. It's but I'm like, I
- 24:12Speaker 2: feel like we should. I need to make you watch
- 24:14Speaker 2: it together with with me. Like maybe I'm just gonna
- 24:18Speaker 2: make I can't commit to that weekly. Yeah. Well, I
- 24:22Speaker 2: totally agree with my colleague grows. I think it's like
- 24:24Speaker 2: watchable colleagues.
- 24:26Speaker 1: My colleague grows, Well, you are very professional right now
- 24:29Speaker 1: because you did put a top on to record. Yes, well,
- 24:32Speaker 1: we both we both were topless and decided to put
- 24:34Speaker 1: our matching Pines Pantruy merch on to record. Yes, so
- 24:38Speaker 1: that HR wouldn't have to be called this podcast should
- 24:41Speaker 1: be sponsored by the Pines Pantry. I would I would
- 24:44Speaker 1: let it be sponsored for free. I would be like,
- 24:46Speaker 1: you can have ad Pines presents like a virgin.
- 24:49Speaker 2: I literally let's pitch it to them. Anyways, Okay, Like, uh,
- 24:56Speaker 2: the thing about RuPaul and like, we're all this just
- 25:00Speaker 2: come from if you don't know, if you've been living
- 25:02Speaker 2: under the rock, is that it really really really all
- 25:05Speaker 2: derives from John Waters, among other other people, John Waters
- 25:11Speaker 2: Is it's like John Waters and ball It's John Waters Ballroom,
- 25:14Speaker 2: like classic movies like what Happened to Whatever Happened to
- 25:17Speaker 2: Baby J And like, yeah, I mean Airplane again, huge,
- 25:22Speaker 2: huge reference point, like group Paul's playing from so many places.
- 25:25Speaker 2: But yes, obviously like the the more kind of outrageous
- 25:30Speaker 2: you know camp that like borders on grotesque, that is,
- 25:36Speaker 2: you know, very firmly coming from that, that legacy. And
- 25:41Speaker 2: we bring it up because on Mother's Day, Rose and
- 25:43Speaker 2: I watched Serial Mom, with which neither.
- 25:46Speaker 1: Of us had ever seen, but actually was not on
- 25:48Speaker 1: Mother's Day. We watched it yesterday, which was the day
- 25:50Speaker 1: after Mother's Day.
- 25:51Speaker 2: I don't know what you're talking about. Time does not exist, liar,
- 25:55Speaker 2: You are fucking with my sense of time. Okay, we
- 25:58Speaker 2: watched it the day after mother Day. Cereal Mom is
- 26:01Speaker 2: about a mom that won't stop killing people, and that's
- 26:03Speaker 2: pretty much it. Yes, it's really good.
- 26:06Speaker 1: It's really good, starring Kathleen Turner, Scooby Doo, Matthew Lillard,
- 26:11Speaker 1: Ricky Lake, Suzanne Summers has a cameo playing herself. And
- 26:18Speaker 1: It's a movie that I've been wanting to watch forever,
- 26:20Speaker 1: and like I always used to see it up Blockbuster
- 26:22Speaker 1: as a kid, and like I would be intrigued, but
- 26:25Speaker 1: I don't know, like for for some reason, I just
- 26:28Speaker 1: never pulled the trigger and watched it. I've seen other
- 26:30Speaker 1: John Waters movies, you know, like I've seen Pink Flamingos
- 26:33Speaker 1: and Hairspray and cry Baby, but somehow missed Cerial Mom,
- 26:38Speaker 1: which I do think might be maybe one of his
- 26:43Speaker 1: more mainstream of films. It did, It did certainly look
- 26:49Speaker 1: like maybe like the budget was a little higher, like
- 26:53Speaker 1: talent wise, it had maybe a more cohesive storyline than
- 26:58Speaker 1: some of his films do, which like a lot of
- 27:00Speaker 1: times can just spiral into insanity, and here, like it
- 27:05Speaker 1: does spiral into insanity, but like the story is very
- 27:08Speaker 1: focused on this serial killer mom who wants to kill
- 27:13Speaker 1: everyone who pisses off her kids or interrupts her from
- 27:18Speaker 1: going bird watching with her husband.
- 27:21Speaker 2: His films do sometimes feel like a series of vignettes
- 27:25Speaker 2: or like montages. But yeah, this was like a highly
- 27:29Speaker 2: linear narrative. To me, the obvious like highlight of the
- 27:33Speaker 2: film was the courtroom spoof at the end. That was amazing, incredible.
- 27:38Speaker 2: I was like, I.
- 27:39Speaker 1: Didn't know it was going to keep going like to
- 27:42Speaker 1: the end, Like I kind of there were several points
- 27:44Speaker 1: during the movie where I was like, Oh.
- 27:46Speaker 2: This must be the end, and lo and behold it wasn't.
- 27:49Speaker 2: Loved it ten out of ten.
- 27:51Speaker 1: I love the love the random things that made serial
- 27:54Speaker 1: mom kill, Like the woman wearing whit shoes after labor day,
- 27:59Speaker 1: the woman not rewinding her videotapes.
- 28:02Speaker 2: The woman not brushing her teeth after dinner or something
- 28:05Speaker 2: like that. It was these little things that were kind
- 28:09Speaker 2: of like things that a mom would get mad about.
- 28:12Speaker 1: And I loved how she was just like she never
- 28:15Speaker 1: dropped her momness. Yes, like she was always the same bitch,
- 28:21Speaker 1: just sometimes she happened to be killing people.
- 28:24Speaker 2: Yes, the Kathleen Turner like does this brilliantly. I'd never
- 28:27Speaker 2: seen her in anything.
- 28:29Speaker 1: Yeah, I hadn't seen her in a lot. Namely, the
- 28:32Speaker 1: main thing I know her from as a child was
- 28:36Speaker 1: A Simple Wish starring Martin Short, a film that.
- 28:39Speaker 2: I'd never You had to describe it to me I mean,
- 28:42Speaker 2: is there what's the log line?
- 28:43Speaker 1: It's like about like an evil fairy godmother and a
- 28:48Speaker 1: good fairy godmother who's like bad at his job helping
- 28:51Speaker 1: Mara Wilson.
- 28:52Speaker 2: I believe love sounds kind of deranged, but like also
- 28:57Speaker 2: like like made watching serum on made me really want
- 29:03Speaker 2: to go into the entire John Waters catalog, which I
- 29:07Speaker 2: haven't actually done if I'm going to be honest. Okay, girl.
- 29:13Speaker 1: The other movie we watched last night, we watched a
- 29:16Speaker 1: scary movie. Yeah, The Autopsy of Jane Doe twenty sixteen,
- 29:22Speaker 1: which is about a father's son mortuary duo. They're like
- 29:27Speaker 1: the medical examiners in their small town and they are
- 29:31Speaker 1: tasked with finding the cause of death of this unnamed
- 29:35Speaker 1: woman who was found buried in the basement of this
- 29:39Speaker 1: house with a bunch of dead people in it, and
- 29:41Speaker 1: spooky things start happening. Girl, this movie was this one
- 29:46Speaker 1: is for the boys. So the boom is the way
- 29:50Speaker 1: Jane Doe is just serve it is just mogging down
- 29:56Speaker 1: for the entire far. There's one scene when they're doing
- 29:58Speaker 1: this autopsy where they cut her head open to like
- 30:01Speaker 1: get her to like look at her brain. They peel
- 30:04Speaker 1: her face down, and then when they're done, they just
- 30:07Speaker 1: like take her by the hair and snatch her face
- 30:11Speaker 1: back up, and she's still in perfect serving position. She's
- 30:16Speaker 1: literally like it's like Bella in Breaking Down Part one
- 30:19Speaker 1: when she's transforming into a vampire and her spine knits
- 30:23Speaker 1: together and she all of a sudden goes.
- 30:25Speaker 2: Like, Yes, she's giving like Puss Puss Girl's trip. She's
- 30:29Speaker 2: like mewing, except she can't mute because her tongue has
- 30:32Speaker 2: been cut out. Yes. Basically, as the like morticians start,
- 30:39Speaker 2: you know, doing the autopsy, they find increasingly disturbing things
- 30:45Speaker 2: about the body and the.
- 30:46Speaker 1: Like has a dick.
- 30:48Speaker 2: Yes, like the fact that she has a nine and
- 30:50Speaker 2: a half inch cock, which a really bold choice for
- 30:53Speaker 2: the filmmakers to do this.
- 30:56Speaker 1: In twenty sixteen, Well, you know, it was the trans
- 30:58Speaker 1: tipping point.
- 31:00Speaker 2: It was, Yeah, it was the trans tipping point. They
- 31:03Speaker 2: actually they cut they had to because it's an autopsy.
- 31:06Speaker 2: They had to cut the cock open and they inside
- 31:09Speaker 2: and when they cut.
- 31:10Speaker 1: The open side was the issue of Vanity Fair. Caylen
- 31:13Speaker 1: Jenner on the cover said, call me Kate, I was I.
- 31:18Speaker 2: Was going to see like a very tiny scroll with
- 31:21Speaker 2: the entire text of Kate Bornstein's gender Outlaws.
- 31:24Speaker 1: Oh that too, that was rolled up in the magazine.
- 31:27Speaker 2: Yes, exactly, yes, yeah, but anyways, the body they keep
- 31:31Speaker 2: finding like little like kind of messages and signs and
- 31:35Speaker 2: like kind of a cult thing. Yeah, like writings inside
- 31:38Speaker 2: the skin.
- 31:39Speaker 1: Of her her she swallowed her own tooth, yes, like
- 31:43Speaker 1: that was wrapped in like an ancient like and they
- 31:46Speaker 1: like knocked out her teeth. And there was also vaginal trauma.
- 31:51Speaker 2: Yeah there was. I mean, well she had but well
- 31:55Speaker 2: she like under her nine she has both. Yes, she
- 32:00Speaker 2: has both. There was alsoure trauma. There was there was
- 32:05Speaker 2: trauma they didn't examine. She was a whole yeah, she
- 32:09Speaker 2: said nobut stuff. Yeah, she's literally so pussed. I kind
- 32:15Speaker 2: of am sorry. Maybe maybe I won't like spoil the
- 32:18Speaker 2: whole movie. If you want to go ahead and watch
- 32:20Speaker 2: it came out ten years ago, I think we can
- 32:23Speaker 2: spoil it. Oh shit, okay, six let me tell you,
- 32:26Speaker 2: like I'm I'm shocked that she never anthropomorphised.
- 32:30Speaker 1: Well she yeah, she never.
- 32:32Speaker 2: She never came.
- 32:32Speaker 1: You never came to life. So what you find out
- 32:36Speaker 1: through kind of like a convoluted series of logical leaps
- 32:41Speaker 1: that the father and son make that she is in
- 32:43Speaker 1: fact a witch, yes, who can't die, and so the
- 32:50Speaker 1: the wounds that are inflicted on her body, she makes
- 32:52Speaker 1: other people feel them for her sort of sick revenge.
- 32:56Speaker 2: And they've conducted this entire autopsy like head to toe,
- 33:01Speaker 2: and she has been able to feel everything.
- 33:04Speaker 1: And she has she's been injuring the father like like
- 33:09Speaker 1: like remember last night, there's a point where he pulled
- 33:11Speaker 1: his shirt up and it was like like the most
- 33:14Speaker 1: bruised a human being could possibly be without dying. And
- 33:17Speaker 1: brand was like, oh, that doesn't look good.
- 33:20Speaker 2: It was so bad. It was Brian Cox does these
- 33:23Speaker 2: cuckoo horror movies. I don't know if you saw The
- 33:25Speaker 2: Parenting with Brandon Flynn, and I think, like why Parker
- 33:29Speaker 2: Posey was in it?
- 33:31Speaker 1: But I have seen The Ring where in which he
- 33:34Speaker 1: plays Samara's father. My wife was not meant to have
- 33:37Speaker 1: a child.
- 33:38Speaker 2: Right, He's in a lot of horror movies. Okay, this movie,
- 33:42Speaker 2: The Parenting is starring Edie Falco, Parker Posey, Brandon Flynn,
- 33:46Speaker 2: and Lisa Kodrew. Wow, that sounds really good. It was crazy.
- 33:51Speaker 2: It was like one half kind of like situational family comedy.
- 33:55Speaker 2: And then the other half was this like polsierguist story
- 33:58Speaker 2: and it was absurdist to the point that of comedy.
- 34:02Speaker 2: I do think it was a comedy. Question Mark you
- 34:05Speaker 2: saw it? Yeah, I saw it? And what Brian what?
- 34:08Speaker 2: What happened? What Brian Cox has to do at the
- 34:11Speaker 2: end of this film was like, I don't know, chaplain
- 34:16Speaker 2: level physical comedy in terms of like demonic possession. It
- 34:20Speaker 2: was crazy.
- 34:21Speaker 1: Are Brian Cox and Deborah Cox related?
- 34:26Speaker 2: I think they could be. Look what if they're like
- 34:28Speaker 2: long lost? What if they're like twice removed cousins. I'm
- 34:32Speaker 2: gonna I wonder if anybody's ever asked this before. No, Wow,
- 34:39Speaker 2: really surprising.
- 34:40Speaker 1: Okay, so you're just taking Google AI's word on that one.
- 34:43Speaker 1: Like with the Sex and the City.
- 34:44Speaker 2: Birthday chat, Oh my god, Rose and I got into
- 34:49Speaker 2: a well not an argument, but a discussion, a discussion
- 34:53Speaker 2: when I was like trying. I was like, oh, I
- 34:54Speaker 2: think we know the birthdays of like three out of
- 34:57Speaker 2: the four of the Sex and the City girls, and
- 34:59Speaker 2: so we know what signed they are. And Roses like wait, what,
- 35:02Speaker 2: like how would they know that? And I was like,
- 35:04Speaker 2: we have the dates of their birthdays. They're in this
- 35:07Speaker 2: screen rant article. I was like, well, I thought I had.
- 35:10Speaker 2: I had like looked up their birthdays before. And I
- 35:14Speaker 2: don't know if I read this screen rant article or
- 35:16Speaker 2: if I read another source of I read read it.
- 35:18Speaker 2: But this screen rant article, which claims to have the
- 35:22Speaker 2: exact birth dates of each Sex and the City character,
- 35:25Speaker 2: has no backing whatsoever, no sources, no sources, no journalistic integrity.
- 35:31Speaker 2: I literally thought it was real. And then I go
- 35:34Speaker 2: to Wikipedia, which has the exact same dates, mind you,
- 35:37Speaker 2: and no citation. So this is a disinformation campaign that
- 35:42Speaker 2: has convinced I would say, a pretty broad spectrum of
- 35:45Speaker 2: people that we know the actual birthdays of the Sex
- 35:48Speaker 2: and the City quadrant, and we do and we just don't.
- 35:51Speaker 2: We just don't. Yeah. I was like literally on Reddit
- 35:54Speaker 2: trying to figure it out, and I do not think
- 35:56Speaker 2: we have it. If you the Virgins have like an
- 35:59Speaker 2: actual credit source and.
- 36:01Speaker 1: Bythdays, here's what I'll accept of the source, right, Yes,
- 36:05Speaker 1: I will accept dialogue in the show that we're in,
- 36:09Speaker 1: either the original show, the movies range just like that, Yes,
- 36:14Speaker 1: that explicitly states the character, or like Carrie up in
- 36:18Speaker 1: paper or if we see a newspaper or an ID
- 36:21Speaker 1: and it has their date of birth on it. I
- 36:22Speaker 1: would accept that. What I will not accept is an
- 36:26Speaker 1: actor saying on a podcast or in an interview, I
- 36:29Speaker 1: think she's an Aquarius, or the date and episode aired
- 36:33Speaker 1: in which their first day happened. That does not count.
- 36:36Speaker 2: That is not textual, you idiots. Anyways, I need to
- 36:40Speaker 2: cite your work, cy your work, show your fucking sources. Anyways,
- 36:47Speaker 2: I really loved the Autopsy of I was gonna say,
- 36:50Speaker 2: Emily Rose Jane, Oh, yeah, I enjoyed it, like kind
- 36:53Speaker 2: of like.
- 36:53Speaker 1: I was glad to It's been on my horror movie
- 36:56Speaker 1: watch list for a while, and I was very.
- 36:58Speaker 2: Glad to not get off there. I would say four stars,
- 37:04Speaker 2: three and three and a half. I liked it a lot. Actually,
- 37:07Speaker 2: I didn't really have very many notes. It didn't need
- 37:09Speaker 2: to be super logical.
- 37:10Speaker 1: I'm gonna say like a solid three.
- 37:13Speaker 2: Yeah. Okay. Something else that is like really silly, but
- 37:20Speaker 2: like I kind of wanted to chat about, is the
- 37:23Speaker 2: fact that you and I we had been like kind
- 37:25Speaker 2: of watching TV for five hours and and we were like, okay,
- 37:32Speaker 2: it's time to go to bed. Should we like flip
- 37:34Speaker 2: something on to like, you know, before we go to bed, Like, Oh,
- 37:38Speaker 2: I don't want to watch a whole movie, you said,
- 37:40Speaker 2: And I was like, yeah, I don't want to watch
- 37:41Speaker 2: a whole movie either, And so we were looking at
- 37:45Speaker 2: this is on I'm pretty sure it was on Sunday
- 37:47Speaker 2: Movies for Moms. It was this last night.
- 37:48Speaker 1: No, it was on Sunday.
- 37:49Speaker 2: It was on Sunday. It was like the Movies for No.
- 37:52Speaker 2: We were on Netflix. Oh we were. I thought we
- 37:54Speaker 2: were on the in the Movies for Moms.
- 37:56Speaker 1: That's where we saw where we saw Cereal right.
- 37:59Speaker 2: Right, a Cereal Mom, Okay, And so you were like, oh,
- 38:03Speaker 2: put Pretty Woman on. And I put it on, thinking
- 38:05Speaker 2: like I'm gonna be a passive watcher. I'm gonna like
- 38:08Speaker 2: go to bed after twenty minutes.
- 38:09Speaker 1: Same as someone who has seen Pretty Woman upwards of
- 38:12Speaker 1: one hundred times.
- 38:14Speaker 2: Girl, I felt like a baby in a crib watching
- 38:17Speaker 2: a mobile like I was. It was like it was
- 38:19Speaker 2: like trans Coco Melon, Yes, transgender Coco Melon. Because this
- 38:24Speaker 2: is the tranniest movie, one of the traniest movies ever created.
- 38:28Speaker 2: If you did not know, I was just like, I
- 38:31Speaker 2: guess I haven't watched it in maybe like a year
- 38:34Speaker 2: or two, but it's a movie that I rarely sit
- 38:39Speaker 2: down and watch on purpose. It's always the kind of thing.
- 38:42Speaker 2: And I think I said this the other night, like, oh,
- 38:44Speaker 2: you kind of have to watch that, like when it's
- 38:46Speaker 2: on TV. Oh no, you said that about Twenty seven Dresses, right,
- 38:49Speaker 2: which we did watch, which we did also watch. They're
- 38:52Speaker 2: kind of similar any of those rom coms. It's like,
- 38:54Speaker 2: oh yeah, I'll catch it, like when I'm visiting my
- 38:56Speaker 2: mom's house and I'm like trying to find something on
- 38:58Speaker 2: cable at two pm on a Tuesday, But like, I'm
- 39:01Speaker 2: gonna watch Pretty Woman.
- 39:03Speaker 1: But it's so fucking good. They're so sexy, they're so
- 39:11Speaker 1: in love.
- 39:12Speaker 2: It's a satiating story. Why would you say it is
- 39:16Speaker 2: a transgender film. I'll start the wig that she wears
- 39:22Speaker 2: in the beginning of this film, Clocky te Shaw, paired
- 39:24Speaker 2: with the Mystic boutique outfit that she is wearing. This, like,
- 39:29Speaker 2: I guess unitar This cutout unitard with a hardware holding
- 39:34Speaker 2: the pieces together is so like Doll's first time out
- 39:42Speaker 2: on the town. Like it is so kind of like
- 39:47Speaker 2: three dollar bill coated in a way that is so
- 39:50Speaker 2: immediately apparent. I wish they had paid, Like just I
- 39:52Speaker 2: know it's supposed to be a shitty wig. I know
- 39:54Speaker 2: it's supposed to be a shitty wig, but they could
- 39:55Speaker 2: have paid like four or five more dollars for like
- 39:57Speaker 2: a slightly less shitty wig that was like not act
- 40:00Speaker 2: on her head.
- 40:01Speaker 1: Well all time, travel back to the nineteen eighties and
- 40:03Speaker 1: let them know about it.
- 40:04Speaker 2: And to be honest, obviously, all of the things that
- 40:06Speaker 2: anyone could say to be critical of this movie have
- 40:09Speaker 2: been said in terms of like the portrayal of sex
- 40:11Speaker 2: work and like what this character was like tasked to
- 40:13Speaker 2: do as a sex worker, which is basically be a
- 40:15Speaker 2: feral animal idiot, and Julia Roberts imbues so much humanity.
- 40:21Speaker 1: She's in this most charming person who's ever existed.
- 40:25Speaker 2: Yes, who's a bit in real life, but she literally
- 40:29Speaker 2: is so fab I mean it kind of reminds me
- 40:31Speaker 2: of like Glenn Close's portrayal of her character and Fatal Attraction.
- 40:37Speaker 1: I still haven't seen it.
- 40:38Speaker 2: We have to. We're watching it tonight. No, I know
- 40:41Speaker 2: it's a bit long. I'll watch it. It's a bit long,
- 40:44Speaker 2: but it's a script that it's like a script imbued
- 40:47Speaker 2: in misogyny, imbued in a certain kind of idea, of
- 40:50Speaker 2: a woman and she's so good at acting. Yes, it's
- 40:56Speaker 2: a shape woman might say she's so good acting that
- 41:00Speaker 2: the character becomes this like full fleshed human that transcends
- 41:05Speaker 2: the misogyny of the script. Also anyways, so it's very
- 41:10Speaker 2: very trainy. Also, sex work is like transsexual. If you're
- 41:13Speaker 2: right making a movie about sex work, it's transac.
- 41:15Speaker 1: It literally made me want to be a sex worker
- 41:17Speaker 1: when I grew.
- 41:17Speaker 2: Up, literally as a child. And that's true for a
- 41:20Speaker 2: lot of sex workers. Like this movie literally inspired a
- 41:23Speaker 2: lot of people to become sex workers. And we need
- 41:26Speaker 2: more films in this decade and TV shows and TV
- 41:30Speaker 2: shows about sex workers. We need more films that a
- 41:33Speaker 2: glamorous sex work grows.
- 41:34Speaker 1: Yes, we haven't had a good one in a while.
- 41:37Speaker 1: I actually, I think I asked you last night if
- 41:39Speaker 1: you had ever seen Secret Diary of a Call Girl
- 41:41Speaker 1: starring Billy Piper and everybody. That is another one that
- 41:45Speaker 1: really glamorized sex work for me, that I used to
- 41:47Speaker 1: love when I was you know, back in the day
- 41:50Speaker 1: when it was airing right.
- 41:52Speaker 2: Well, I'm I had never heard of it before. Now
- 41:55Speaker 2: it's on my list. I was trying to think of
- 41:58Speaker 2: famous movies about sex work, and there's really like what four,
- 42:02Speaker 2: there's like Tangerine, there's Honora, there's Pretty Woman, and then
- 42:07Speaker 2: I don't know, there's that COVID movie with Emma Thompson
- 42:09Speaker 2: that I can't remember the name of.
- 42:11Speaker 1: Never seen it, American Jigglow starring Richard gear.
- 42:14Speaker 2: Right, I guess Magic Mike technically. Yeah, like you could say,
- 42:17Speaker 2: like a stripper movie, like any stripper movie, I guess
- 42:20Speaker 2: you could say, but that's the only movie where it's
- 42:23Speaker 2: about the strippers, right, I've never seen strip Tea's our
- 42:25Speaker 2: friend John said it was very boring and not good.
- 42:29Speaker 2: But her body is fire in.
- 42:31Speaker 1: That her body is Tea.
- 42:33Speaker 2: But yeah, I don't.
- 42:34Speaker 1: Demi Moore, who supports AI, I guess ah what she
- 42:40Speaker 1: she says something that's like we have to learn to
- 42:42Speaker 1: work with AI.
- 42:43Speaker 2: Oh yeah, and her and like what was it? Like?
- 42:46Speaker 2: There was like one or two other A list celebrities
- 42:48Speaker 2: that had a very similar comment at the same time,
- 42:50Speaker 2: and it was like, did you all go to like
- 42:52Speaker 2: a seminar or something. Yes, that's like propagandizing like AI like,
- 42:58Speaker 2: but it's not even propaganda.
- 43:00Speaker 1: It it's like it's actually very I think kind of
- 43:04Speaker 1: master of well not masterful because it's not subtle, well
- 43:06Speaker 1: so obvious what they're doing, but like using the language
- 43:09Speaker 1: of like, hey, none of us like that it's here,
- 43:13Speaker 1: but it is here, so we have to figure out
- 43:15Speaker 1: how to work with it because they're they're trying to
- 43:17Speaker 1: they're trying to make it like harm reduction, and it's no,
- 43:21Speaker 1: we need to be absolutely, vehemently diametrically.
- 43:25Speaker 2: Opposed to AI. I cannot. It's like it's sorry, sorry,
- 43:30Speaker 2: I'm think I know this like feels like an extremely
- 43:33Speaker 2: but I think it's the same logic. If there was
- 43:35Speaker 2: a gun on this table, there is, well, there is
- 43:38Speaker 2: a gun on this table right now, there's a gun
- 43:40Speaker 2: on this table, And if I said to you Rose,
- 43:43Speaker 2: the gun is here, like everyone else is using guns,
- 43:48Speaker 2: like I know the guns are bad, but like we
- 43:51Speaker 2: can use this for good, and because we can use
- 43:53Speaker 2: it for good, we should use this gun right now?
- 43:56Speaker 1: Like what, why do you know what? I might degree
- 44:00Speaker 1: if you put it like that, girl.
- 44:02Speaker 2: It's like everyone else is using their guns, might as
- 44:04Speaker 2: well use this gun, like what? But I'm sorry, I'm
- 44:07Speaker 2: also like anti guns to that logic. I mean, this
- 44:09Speaker 2: analogy makes sense to me I'm also anti gun. Well well, okay,
- 44:14Speaker 2: so there's like an anti there's somebody who's like anti gun,
- 44:17Speaker 2: and there's also like somebody who's anti gun, but they're
- 44:19Speaker 2: like arm the dolls, and I'm like, actually literally not
- 44:22Speaker 2: like arm the dolls, you know what I mean, which
- 44:24Speaker 2: is like, really I think transgressive to say in a
- 44:27Speaker 2: Brooklyn circle. But I'm just like, no, we don't say
- 44:30Speaker 2: like more guns are the solution. Yeah, sorry, I went
- 44:32Speaker 2: like I was very right this, very seriously.
- 44:34Speaker 1: I like joking about guns, and I love dreaming about
- 44:38Speaker 1: a gun in my life, and I would maybe like
- 44:41Speaker 1: to do it again. But I don't think people should
- 44:43Speaker 1: own gun.
- 44:44Speaker 2: I want to shoot a gun. Let's go shoot guns. Okay,
- 44:48Speaker 2: do you think they have them here on Fire? Well?
- 44:50Speaker 1: Oh yes, people on this island definitely have guns.
- 44:55Speaker 2: I've never been more sure of.
- 44:57Speaker 1: And maybe that's what's in the pantry. That's why I
- 44:59Speaker 1: flocked to another It's the gun pantry.
- 45:01Speaker 2: But Pandria Julkin boosters Fire Island share is filled with guns.
- 45:06Speaker 2: Start spreading that. Do we have anything else to discuss?
- 45:10Speaker 1: No? I think that's it.

- 45:50Speaker 2: I've never seen Stallion to the Cimmarron. I feel like
- 45:52Speaker 2: I kind of need to see it. It's gonna be
- 45:55Speaker 2: a private journey for you, I know. Well, I think
- 45:58Speaker 2: specifically because the spirit the Stadion of the Cimarron is
- 46:03Speaker 2: extremely hot. And that's kind of the thing about the
- 46:06Speaker 2: film is that, like the standing of the Cimarron is
- 46:09Speaker 2: like really really hot, And so if I'm going to
- 46:11Speaker 2: watch that, I should watch it privately.
- 46:13Speaker 1: Yes, so you can jerk off.
- 46:14Speaker 2: Yes, I'm so excited. Literally, like gonna be a delicious

- 46:24Speaker 2: watch friend Gully today, I feel like I have a
- 46:26Speaker 2: lot to say about it.
- 46:27Speaker 1: So I'm looking at the notes right now. There's a
- 46:29Speaker 1: lot in there. Also, what is this? Why are you
- 46:32Speaker 1: highlighting random letters like you're like you're putting a serial

- 46:52Speaker 2: four letters because it helps with.
- 46:54Speaker 1: Adhd Oh, I didn't know that. Okay, I'm no shade.
- 46:58Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean honestly, I forgot that I have it
- 47:01Speaker 2: turned on. But anyways, we will be talking about I
- 47:05Speaker 2: mean for and goalie. Gosh, there's so much there anyway.
