- Week 9 Fantasy Football Starts & Sits: There's absolutely nothing worse in fantasy football than having one of your bench players go off, meanwhile the guy that you started put up an absolute goose egg. Today we're taking the guesswork out of your start sit decisions and we are going through every single matchup in week nine. We're talking quarterbacks, running backs, wide receivers, and tight ends, so let's get into it. Well, welcome back to Fat Daddy Sports. Hey, I am Craig, and today we're taking a look at every single matchup in the NFL here in week nine. Start sit decisions, who you should put in your lineup, who you should keep on the bench. Before we jump into it, we do need to mention the two teams that are on by this week, the Tennessee Titans and the Pittsburgh Steelers. I know there's not a ton of fantasy impact there with the Titans, maybe a couple players, but the Steelers do have some guys that are regularly in lineups for people. So If you have any Titans, any Steelers, make sure you get them out of your lineups this week. And let's jump into Thursday night football. The Jaguars and the Ravens. This one I would really, really like to see the Ravens at full strength because I think this would be an absolute awesome football game to watch. but nonetheless, over on the Jacksonville side, Trevor Lawrence is a start. Tootin and Rodriguez, whoever is the starter there, I want. Tutin got banged up a little bit with a foot and an ankle issue. Haven't heard a whole lot as of the recording of this. If he's out there, he's in my lineup. If he's not, then Chris Rodriguez is in my lineup. over in the wide receiver department, Parker Washington, I wanna start him. Jacoby Myers, I'm gonna sit. And then Brian Thomas Jr. I didn't include on this list. As of the recording, this there's been no news of a trade. He obviously scored in week eight. But I would expect them to ramp him back just a little bit. Don't want to risk any injury right before the trade deadline. So I'm going to keep him off this list. And then Brenton Strange, I think he'll have a bounce back week here against Baltimore. On the Baltimore side of things, Uncle Rico will be starting at quarterback or the Ravens. I don't actually know who's going to be starting. They've got a whole slew of guys that are just ho-hum. I don't really like any of them. I don't really like any of them for the value of any of these Ravens, but Derrick Henry. I don't feel good about it, but you probably have to start him. You probably don't have a better option. If you do, then so be it, and you have to make that call. Same thing with Zay Flowers. They're both just too talented. I would hate to have them on my bench and have them go off. But we will go ahead and sit Jacoby Lane and Mark Andrews. I think there's better options out there for both of those guys. It's just one of those situations where you have to make the call based on your lineup. If you've got Derrick Henry and maybe you picked up Jonah Coleman, that's a decision that I have in one of my leagues and I I don't know. I might go with Coleman in that one. It's gonna be very difficult to trust Derrick Henry without Lamar Jackson out there, without Snoop Huntley out there. We've seen what losing Lamar has done to Derrick Henry's value, and now losing Snoop Huntley, it's gonna get even worse, I think. So definitely one to make a tough call on this week. Sunday morning football, the Bengals and the Falcons. We will start Joe Burrow, Chase Brown, Jamar Chase, T. Higgins, and Mike Gasicki. Gasicki is on that touchdown tear right now, scored in the last five games. There's not many better options at the tight end position than Mike Gasicki right now. I know that's crazy to say, but it's true, and I want him in my lineup if I can. Chase Brown, he's got to turn it around at some point. I think better days are ahead on the ground game. He's got to get it turned around here at some point. So I'll keep him on my lineup. I probably like Derek Henry, I don't have better options. And he's on a very good offense. So there's always the chance of a touchdown there for Chase Brown. Over to the Atlanta side, last week was ugly. They played in that mud bowl against a Baker and the Buccaneers. But this week I think will be better days. Michael Penix, I'll put him back in my lineups. B. John Robinson has kind of been disappointing two of the last three weeks, maybe even all three of the last weeks. But he he can't come out of your lineup. You gotta keep Bijan out there. Drake London got banged up again, but he should be good to go, I think. Keep an eye on that, make sure that he is good to go. If he is healthy, he's active, he's in my lineup. And then Kyle Pitts will sit down this week. The Broncos versus the Panthers, Bo Knicks, and in this Broncos offense is resurging. they're coming back. Bo Nicks is coming back from that angle injury and getting better and better every single week. I'm gonna go ahead and fire him up this week. He's had a good, solid couple of last weeks, and I think he continues that here against the Panthers defense. In the backfield, I want Jonah Coleman in every league I can get. I am firing him up everywhere I can. J.K. Dobbins, I am staying away from. And then Jalen Waddell, I'll throw him in the flex if I can. He had an okay week last week against Kansas City. And I think this offense is going to continue to click and warm up and get better and better. And Jalen Waddle's days are going to get better. On the Carolina side of things, they have really nosedived since the beginning of the season. That first month was electric from the Panthers offense. cooled off a little bit, but we're gonna roll them all out there again, minus Darren Waller. I think that the pass catchers are very good, and Chuba Hubbard just gets so much work. I I want all of them out there. The Cowboys and the Colts, this one might be a stink fest, but for the Cowboys, I pretty much want everybody out there: Prescott, Javante, CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens, and even Ryan Flannoy. The Cowboys just lost their tight end, Jake Ferguson, and I think that's gonna open up more targets for Flannoy, who has already been running more routes, more snaps, more targets. he is really coming on. Maybe they get a deal done and they move George Pickens sometime in the next week. But for right now, I'll start all three of those wide receivers, the running back and the quarterback. For Indianapolis, Daniel Jones, we're not touching. Jonathan Taylor, I don't like it at all. I mean, he's Jonathan Taylor. You probably have to start him, but I I don't feel good about it at all. Josh Downs, Keenan Allen, don't even come near me with those two. And then Tyler Warren. He is so elite. He got 10 targets in his first game back last week and it resulted in basically nothing. This Colts offense is just terrible. Daniel Jones is terrible. I I'm probably starting Jonathan Taylor and Tyler Warren, and that's it, but I don't feel good about either one of those two guys. Over to the Jets and the Chiefs. This is a Jets offense that is really annoying to figure out this year. They're, you know, one guy goes off one week, the next week another guy goes off. We're gonna stick with what we know. We're gonna sit Gino and Brees Hall, as of the recording of this, is still injured. He is not back to practice yet. I'm sure this week maybe he will be back. That's what the reports are looking like. So if you have Brees Hall, keep an eye on that. If he is active, I'm probably playing him because he is just a a very talented football player. But in his absence, Braylon Allen has been dynamite. He is an automatic start every single week as long as Brees Hall is not in there. And even once Brees Hall returns, I think Braylon Allen's going to have good value going forward for the rest of the year. Garrett Wilson, I'm starting every single week. And then I look over at the wide receivers, Omar Cooper Jr. and Adnai Mitchell. They've been up and down. Omar Cooper had a couple good weeks. Now Adnai Mitchell had a good week. You're really just throwing darts at a wall there and hoping something sticks. I'm gonna lean with the guy that they took in the first round, and that's Omar Cooper Jr. I think he has a bounce back week this week. Last week was an ad nine Mitchell week, but I think this week against the Chiefs and their banged up secondary, I'll go with Omar Cooper a as a flex play, low end flex play, probably. I don't really feel great about any of those pass catchers. I just think the Jets don't play a a fast enough tempo. They don't run enough plays to spread the ball around enough for any of these guys to really go off. The running backs can get theirs just because of the run game and they could fall into the end zone. But as far as the passing game goes, they just don't throw enough passes for everybody to eat every week. So it's gonna be up and down the rest of the season. On the Chiefs side of things, Patrick Mahomes has been a disappointment lately and really has nobody to throw to. So I'm gonna keep him on my bench where he belongs right now. Kenneth Walker, I'm starting every single week. Rasheed Rice, I guess, is wide receiver one. He's he's not great, but he's getting, you know, double digit points. You could throw him out there as a low end wide receiver two flex play. And then Xavier Worthy, he is yeah, I don't know. His days are done. I think that they're gonna be moving on from him very soon here. As soon as they trade for somebody or somebody's, I I don't think Xavier Worthy is going to be in the fantasy conversation for much longer. and then Travis Kelsey, he is just old reliable, gets enough targets, gets enough work. He's gonna put up a decent number for you every single week. It's not the Travis Kelsey of old, but He's good to get out there and get you eight to fourteen points any given week. To the Lions and the Dolphins, Jared Goff and the rest of this entire offense. I want to start every single week. I say it every week, and nothing has changed. Give me every single Lions offensive player here in fantasy football. On the Miami side of things, Malik Willis has had a nice couple of weeks, but I don't necessarily like him in this matchup. Gonna go ahead and sit him this week. Ollie Gordon will fire up. Malik Washington will fire up. He's had a a quiet last month or so of the season. He's getting in those double digit points. We'll fire him up. The other two wide receivers will sit this week, and the tight end, Greg Dulcich, we will also sit. This Lions defense is starting to come around a little bit, playing a lot better football. And I think that this is one where you can look at it and say, well, it's gonna be a shootout. Miami's gonna have to score a bunch of points to stay in this game, which is probably true, but I just don't know that they actually do that in this game. Think Detroit goes down there and handles business. Over to the Browns and the Saints, you've got Deshaun Watson as a sit. Quinshawn Judkins is a low end running back, too, I guess. Start. Denzel Boston, Casey Concepcion. You're just kind of picking your poison there. If you've got either of those guys, they're flex plays, but you can fire them up. One of them will probably go off any given week. So Pick your poison there. and then Harold Fannon Jr. He's had a couple nice weeks in a row. We'll go ahead and fire him up at the tight end position. For the Saints, Tyler Shuck is a start. Alvin Camaro's a start. Chris Olave will fire up and Devon Vale. We will throw in the flex if we need to. I think that this passing game, you know, they got the bye week. They were a little injured. Tyler Shuck has both hands basically broken. I think the bye week came at a good time for the Saints team. They're going to get things turned around and get back to that good offensive football that they had playing before the bye. And I think that this is a game that could be a sneaky shootout. I think both offenses are good enough. I think both defenses have their holes. And it's played in the New Orleans in the dome. I could see it going back and forth the entire way. Hey, real quick, if you're new here, I drop these videos every single week. Waiver wire videos, start set videos, ranking videos, and other fantasy football nonsense. If you see anything that you like, be sure to hit that like button, drop a comment, and hit subscribe. Your support means the world to me. Let's jump into the next matchup here. The Giants and the Eagles, we've got JJ McCarthy as a sit. Cam Scadaboo will fire up. Devin Singletary. I think we'll get some work, but maybe not enough with only two teams on the bye to warrant putting him into my lineup. Malik Neighbors and Isaiah Likely, I'm starting. I'm obviously tempering expectations. I I don't know what to expect there. With JJ McCarthy, I don't know if he'll be up, he'll be down. We only saw him for that one game before the bye week last week. So against the Eagles secondary, it could be a tough task, but we'll find out. On the Eagles side of things, Tanner McKee playing okay football, but not good enough to get into my lineup. Saquon Barkley dealing with injuries all season, but if Saquon's out there, he's in my lineup. I mean, I don't probably have any better options, so I'll fire him up and hope that he gets into the end zone. Devonta Smith, we're still monitoring his issues with his hamstrings. If he is out again, I'm firing up Mikai Lemon every single week. I think that he will just continue to eat targets with Devonta Smith out of there, Dontavian Wicks out of there. I think Mikai Lemon could be a very good sneaky play for the rest of the year if he is the wide receiver one in Philadelphia. and then Dallas Goddard gets a ton of targets every single week. He is in my lineup every single week. The Rams and the Commanders pretty much want the entire Rams offense any given week. Blake Coram is really playing good football over the last month. I'll I'll fire up both running backs there. miss me with the tight ends for the Rams though. I don't really want anything to do with Tyler Higby. He has burned us so many times in a row. Terrence Ferguson should be back to practice this week, it sounds like. So keep an eye on him. Definitely if he is out there, available to be added to your team, scoop him up right now. I think he will be a good value going forward, at least until Devontae Adams is back in a few weeks. But Terrence Ferguson, Devontae Adams, I think once they get full strength again, this Rams offense is going to be humming. Matthew Stafford is dealing with a sore arm, they say. So keep an eye on that. But if you've got the Rams offensive players, the running backs, Puka Nakua, I'm I'm starting all of them. Jaden Daniels is a start. Rashad White, we can start as an RB two. Stephon Diggs, I think, is a wide receiver too. Antonio Williams, they like him. They want to get him more involved. He's getting more involved every single game. He's a good flex play, I think. And then Chiga Conquo. We saw this past week. He was involved, made some incredible catches, one handed catches. he can be started going forward. I think he'll see enough volume. Over to the Texans and the Chargers. The Texans playing some really good football right before their bye. I think they'll pick up right here again against an absolute dead football team in the Chargers. Stroud is a start. Woody Marks, Nico Collins, Marvin Harrison Jr., I think could be a sneaky flex play this week. I think they get him more involved here coming off of the bye. Had a couple week ramp up period there going into the bye, had that whole week to kind of learn a little bit more, get more incorporated, and now I think going forward he will be incorporated a whole lot more. On the Chargers side of things, Justin Herbert, you know what? We're gonna sit everybody on the Chargers. Lad McConkey is about the only one that I feel any sort of confidence throwing into my lineup. And even then, he's like a flex play at best. This is just an absolutely dead football team. They have no energy, they have no Reason to be out there. You can see it. They don't want to be out there. They're all unhappy. I just I'm staying away from the Chargers altogether. The Raiders and the 49ers, Kirk Cousins is currently a top five quarterback in fantasy football in the year 2026. He is in my lineups. Ashton Genty, not good on the ground, but he's getting a ton of pass game work. I'll fire him up. Mike Washington, I want to see it before I throw him in my lineup. Had a very good week, a lot of carries in week eight. I want to see it again though before I'm ready to trust it. Trey Tucker, Jalen Naylor, I don't really trust any of the wide receivers here. Only pass catcher I trust every single week is Brock Bowers. On the San Francisco side of things, you might have some guys injured. You might have some guys back, but Brock Purdy playing really good football this year, he'll be in my lineup. Christian McCaffrey, obviously, if he's out there, he's starting. If he's not back from his issue with his hamstrings, I think Calen Black is an automatic RB1 start for me. Mike Evans, I think will be back from his Achilles injury this week. But definitely keep an eye on that if you have him on your team. And then George Kittle playing very, very good football this year, coming off of his own Achilles injury. He is in my lineup every single week. For the Packers, give me that entire offense. Couple my couple injuries to monitor there. Christian Watson obviously left and went to the hospital in week eight, came back and finished the game. But if he's out there along with all these other guys, I'm putting them all in my lineup. On the New England side of things, it's quite the opposite. Drake May. I'm starting him. I don't feel great about it, but he has been playing very good football, scoring a lot of points over the last month and a half. Ramondre Stevenson, same thing. He's just getting the work and he's getting points for it. AJ Brown, keep an eye on that injury. Haven't heard a whole lot, but he obviously missed week eight with his knee issue. Demario Douglas, I know he is now kind of like the alpha wide receiver one, but he only saw three targets in week eight, and I am pumping the brakes big time on that. They should be getting Mac Hollins back here soon, so keep an eye on him. He could be somebody that gets some targets going forward, but nobody that I really love in this pass catching game. Hunter Henry, the guy that I was kind of favored on, he got banged up in week eight. It looks like he's gonna miss some time, so keep an eye on him if you have Hunter Henry as your tight end. For the Cardinals and the Seahawks, new quarterback in Arizona is Cars no, it's not Carson Beck. It's Gardner Minshew. I don't know why we're not starting our rookie. The season's already lost. Just move on. but we're going with Gardner Minshew instead, and he is not anywhere near my lineups. Tyler Algier, I'll fire him up though. He's got no competition. Jeremiah Love has been moved to IR. Bam Knight is dealing with concussion protocol. I assume that Bam Knight will be back. Usually you don't miss a game for that, but regardless, I'm firing up Tyler Algier. And then Michael Wilson got banged up, broke some ribs in week eight, was able to return. We'll see if that flares up again, what happens, but certainly keep an eye if you have Michael Wilson. and then Trey McBride, he is quarterback matchup proof. He is in there every single week. Sam Darnold, we'll fire him up. He's playing decent football lately. I don't feel great about it, but I think in this matchup he could have a really nice day. Zach Charbonnet and Jadarian Price. I don't know what to make of that backfield, so I'm staying away. I think. Jadarian Price is gonna run away with this job before the end of the year. Zach Charbonnet, he looked like a guy coming off of major knee surgery in week eight. He looked slow. He didn't look like he had that burst. But in the flip side, Jadarian Price did have that burst, and I think he's gonna run away and be the clear running back one there in Seattle before long. But this week in week nine, I'm staying away from both of them. JSN is an obvious start every single week. I don't care who they're playing, but especially against Arizona, he should go off big time in this one. The Buccaneers and the Bears on Sunday night football. This one could be a a really fun game. I know that the Buccaneers have a bad rap this year, but they've played good football at times, and I think that they could hang with the Bears. I don't know if they have enough to beat the Bears on the road, but it could be a very, very fun game. really the only guys I want to start in this one are Bucky Irving and Emeka Abuka, if Abuka is back from his injury. I know that in week eight, Kenny Gainwell got a lot of run, had a good day. But that was just the elements. Baker threw three passes in that game. And so obviously they're going to run and they're going to run multiple guys. I don't think that's going to continue. I'm not chasing that here in week nine. Certainly, if you have Kenny Gainwell, hold on to him and see what it looks like going forward. Maybe he will be more involved, but I think that was more of a just a matchup and game game script dependent last week. The other receivers, Chris Godwin and Ted Hurst, I I want nothing to do with. They make me sick every single week. I know last week. Baker, like I said, through three times, so it's not really their fault, but they just don't put up any numbers for me, so I am not ever putting them in my lineup at the moment. For Chicago, give me everybody. Kyle Manunga, we'll see if he gets back out there this week. He's been out with that turf toe, but he's one to watch. I mean, if he is out there on your waivers, I know there's a lot of leagues where he has been dropped. You need to scoop him up. He's gonna be a difference maker in the second half of the football season. You can already see the the season is starting to wear on DeAndre Swift. I know he's getting a ton of touchdowns right now, but you can see every time he gets tackled, it's like he is slower and slower to get up from the ground. So keep an eye on Kyle Manunga. Get him on your team if he's out there. and then the wide receivers, they each, you know, they rotate halves of who's gonna be good and who's not. I want both of them in my lineup as well as Colston Lovelin. And last but not least, Monday night football, the Bills and the Vikings. The last undefeated team falls last week, and that's the Vikings. They come in now this week hosting the Bills. And this should be a f a very fun game. I mean, you've got a really good defense in Minnesota, a really good offense in Buffalo. We'll see what what the other side of it looks like. I mean, you've got a not very good defense in Buffalo and not very good offense in Minnesota. It's either going to be a very high scoring or a very low scoring game. We'll see which side breaks first, but for me, Josh Allen is a start. James Cook, I know he got banged up in week eight, but he's a start as long as he's out there. DJ Moore, same thing. Comes back. Injured again. I don't know. If he's if he's active, he's in my lineup because he's gonna get passes. But keep an eye on that. Same thing, same drill with Keon Coleman. If Moore is out, Coleman is in. If Moore is in, Coleman is out. Khalil Shakir, I don't want anything to do with Dalton Kincaid, I think I'll fire him up. It seems that the games that The Bills are in close games. It seems like Dalton Kincaid is more involved. So I think this is this is a game that Kincaid could be very involved in. On the Minnesota side of things, that offense is ugly. I don't want any part of it. I've tried to stream Kyler a couple times this year thinking this was going to be the week, and I'm just staying away from him altogether. The backfield is going to be a very big headache going forward. I think Jordan Mason's going to take off with it. But last week they saw eight carries and five carries. So I I don't really know who their RB1 is and what the philosophy is going forward. I don't feel comfortable starting either of those guys. I don't even feel comfortable starting Justin Jefferson, but you have to. He is just incredible. But outside of him, TJ Hawkinson's about the only other one on that Vikings offense that I feel comfortable starting. And that's all I've got time for today, guys. That is every single matchup across the NFL this week. All the starts, all the sits. Let me know down in the comments some of the decisions that you are battling with, and I will try to get those answered. Thanks for watching.
