- 0:26SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 0:27SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 0:27SPEAKER_00: Uh, you know, why not?
- 0:29SPEAKER_00: Thanks for tuning in, your wireless.

- 0:37SPEAKER_00: We're forever grateful.
- 0:40SPEAKER_00: Um, so how's how's how's everything going for you?
- 0:43SPEAKER_00: What are you up to?
- 0:44SPEAKER_00: What's going on in your world?
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: Well, I don't know.
- 0:46SPEAKER_00: What am I doing when this airs?
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: God only knows.
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: I'm probably I'm probably in New Mexico by now.
- 0:53SPEAKER_00: I think that's a safe bet.
- 0:55SPEAKER_00: Well even though it's September and we're ruining the illusion.
- 0:59SPEAKER_00: Everyone knows there's no illusion.
- 1:00SPEAKER_00: It's early October when you're listening to this.
- 1:03SPEAKER_00: Uh yeah, so I'm out in New Mexico working on Jekyll and Hyde, getting ready for the holiday.
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:09SPEAKER_00: Nice, nice, nice.
- 1:10SPEAKER_00: I love that.
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: Um, but yeah, uh, we can just say we're recording this in September, and uh because that's always funny to also.
- 1:20SPEAKER_00: Well, I I let's be specific because I have a beef to pick.
- 1:25SPEAKER_00: A beef to pick?
- 1:26SPEAKER_00: Is that something people say?
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: I don't think so.
- 1:29SPEAKER_00: I have a what is the thing you pick?
- 1:31SPEAKER_00: I have a beef, is a is one thing.
- 1:34SPEAKER_00: You have some beef, you have a bone, you have a bone.
- 1:37SPEAKER_00: There's no beef.
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: There's no beef on the bone.
- 1:40SPEAKER_00: Maybe it's a beef, maybe it's a ham bone, maybe it's a pork chop bone.
- 1:43SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: You have a beef.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: You have a beef on the bottom.
- 1:45SPEAKER_00: We're actually we are actually recording this on September 22nd.
- 1:49SPEAKER_00: And my beef is this whole September thon that the marathon of September at Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind, which I am only well, and my friend Melissa, who is one of my fellow travel agents, well, she texted me last week and she's like, Yeah, once they announced that September was gonna run all day, she's like, We went ahead and booked our tickets and we're heading down.
- 2:12SPEAKER_00: I'm like, what?
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: What?
- 2:15SPEAKER_00: Well, wouldn't that be nice?
- 2:17SPEAKER_00: But I swear, I swear to you, we were there a few years ago on September 21st, thinking that they would play September all day, and did they?
- 2:28SPEAKER_00: They did not, sir.
- 2:29SPEAKER_00: They did not.
- 2:30SPEAKER_00: No.
- 2:31SPEAKER_00: Can I tell you?
- 2:32SPEAKER_00: Now I well, go ahead.
- 2:34SPEAKER_00: I was gonna say now it seems now it seems like it's becoming a thing.
- 2:38SPEAKER_00: Like they're starting to have like treats for the day.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: Like like uh, because there was like a Joffrey's coffee drink or something, and maybe a snack that was all about September, the song, and they played it all day.
- 2:52SPEAKER_00: Anyway, I I wanted to get that I wanted to pick that beef with you, sir, and not with you.
- 2:58SPEAKER_00: Well, I will pick the beef as well.
- 3:01SPEAKER_00: Here's my thing with this.
- 3:02SPEAKER_00: So can I tell you tell me if this is crazy?
- 3:05SPEAKER_00: So the song is do you remember the 21st night of September?
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: September, yes.
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: Right, okay, so that's right.
- 3:15SPEAKER_00: Shouldn't and tell me if I'm insane because I've been thinking about it all the time.
- 3:19SPEAKER_00: Well, you are, I don't know what the rest of the sentence is.
- 3:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you're right, but but we'll stop it there.
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: Shouldn't this shouldn't we play it on today, which is the 22nd?
- 3:30SPEAKER_00: Because you're remembering the night of the 21st.
- 3:33SPEAKER_00: So how can you remember the night of the 21st on the 21st?
- 3:37SPEAKER_00: I think you get I think it's like Christmas.
- 3:39SPEAKER_00: You're remembering last Christmas, you're remembering last September 21st.
- 3:44SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 3:45SPEAKER_00: I think.
- 3:46SPEAKER_00: Maybe, but also how insane is it?
- 3:49SPEAKER_00: And here's a Disney tie with Mr.
- 3:51SPEAKER_00: How with Mr.
- 3:52SPEAKER_00: Alan Mencken.
- 3:53SPEAKER_00: How insane is it that also in Little Shop you have on the 21st day in the month of September?
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: What is it about September 21st?
- 4:03SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 4:04SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 4:05SPEAKER_00: It's like not an it's not an equinox.
- 4:07SPEAKER_00: I mean, equinoxes are like well, it's the last day of fall, right?
- 4:10SPEAKER_00: Or first day of fall, last day of summer, first day of fall.
- 4:12SPEAKER_00: I don't is it right?
- 4:14SPEAKER_00: Isn't it 21st?
- 4:15SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 4:16SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 4:17SPEAKER_00: Maybe well that'd make it something, I guess.
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: Anyway, it was an important day.
- 4:21SPEAKER_00: It's an important day.
- 4:23SPEAKER_00: This is the 22nd.
- 4:24SPEAKER_00: We survived it, whatever it was.
- 4:25SPEAKER_00: I'm getting over my bitterness about missing because we have never gotten September on Garchy.
- 4:31SPEAKER_00: Um, I don't know that I have either.
- 4:34SPEAKER_00: Now that I think about it, I have to go back and look at my list.
- 4:37SPEAKER_00: Well, I would I don't know.
- 4:39SPEAKER_00: Anyway, my wife has, but I haven't.
- 4:41SPEAKER_00: But um maybe we should move on to the actual topic of today's show.
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: Anyway, uh, as it's October 8th.
- 4:48SPEAKER_00: Um, nice.
- 4:51SPEAKER_00: There's a nip in the air.
- 4:53SPEAKER_00: There is a nip in the air.
- 4:54SPEAKER_00: Honestly, probably not probably not in New Mexico.
- 4:57SPEAKER_00: No, probably not, and probably not here either, because it's fake fall right now.
- 5:00SPEAKER_00: So by this point, it's probably 80 degrees again.
- 5:03SPEAKER_00: Um 90 degrees, maybe.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: Anyway, what we're talking about is we need to both chill out a little bit, I think.
- 5:09SPEAKER_00: We do.
- 5:09SPEAKER_00: I I need to come a little over my upsetness of the 21st day of September.
- 5:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you were picking beef, and uh I was.
- 5:18SPEAKER_00: I had a beef to pick.
- 5:20SPEAKER_00: You had a beef to pick.
- 5:22SPEAKER_00: You had so much beef, and so like you're just the bone's not even clean.
- 5:26SPEAKER_00: That's how much beef you had to pick.
- 5:28SPEAKER_00: Like, most people are picking bones, not you.
- 5:30SPEAKER_00: No, no, no, no, no.
- 5:34SPEAKER_00: No one can combine odd sayings like I can.
- 5:38SPEAKER_00: No, you think it is a singular sensation.
- 5:42SPEAKER_00: Uh oh, just like chorus line.
- 5:44SPEAKER_00: But just like you're, you know, when I think people think of you, they think of chorus line.
- 5:48SPEAKER_00: Uh, you know, um, anyway.
- 5:52SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 5:53SPEAKER_00: So we're talking about Zen attractions.
- 5:55SPEAKER_00: We did this for Walt Disney World a while back, but we had not done it for the Disneyland resorts yet.
- 6:02SPEAKER_00: So we're gonna head up to the West Coast because I it's always on my mind.
- 6:06SPEAKER_00: I know it's on yours.
- 6:07SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and uh, I know you're heading back there real soon, actually.
- 6:11SPEAKER_00: I am heading back there soon.
- 6:12SPEAKER_00: I am heading back for Oogie Boogie's Bash, which I am very excited about.
- 6:17SPEAKER_00: Got those tickets, and the entire everything is sold out at this point, so um, I currently have no Disney World, Disneyland trips on my books.
- 6:28SPEAKER_00: I I think we have a Disneyland Paris.
- 6:31SPEAKER_00: I have I have started uh introducing my clients, hopefully, to the idea that you never really should go on vacation unless you know when the next one is.
- 6:41SPEAKER_00: It just takes the stress off.
- 6:42SPEAKER_00: It really does.
- 6:43SPEAKER_00: Like it is a you know, yeah.
- 6:46SPEAKER_00: I have many a thing coming up, uh, but not any time for the rest of this calendar year.
- 6:52SPEAKER_00: But yeah, but you know, you know there are things in store next year, and I know there are things in store next year, so yeah.
- 6:58SPEAKER_00: Okay, figured out, but anyway, we're gonna get Zen here and talk about Zen attractions at Disneyland.
- 7:05SPEAKER_00: What is your number five, sir?
- 7:07SPEAKER_00: What you got?
- 7:08SPEAKER_00: All right, my number.
- 7:10SPEAKER_00: Well, my number five is is uh also call your bookies.
- 7:16SPEAKER_00: How many are we gonna match on?
- 7:18SPEAKER_00: Don't know.
- 7:19SPEAKER_00: We don't know uh I'm I'm gonna go for three.
- 7:22SPEAKER_00: I bet at least three things are on both of ours, but sometimes we surprise ourselves.
- 7:27SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 7:27SPEAKER_00: My my number five is the sleeping beauty walkthrough of the castle.
- 7:33SPEAKER_00: Oh, that is a good one.
- 7:34SPEAKER_00: That's not on my list, but that's very good.
- 7:35SPEAKER_00: I I kind of figured that was maybe off the beaten path.
- 7:38SPEAKER_00: And I think, speaking of off the beaten path, I think some people don't even realize that's a thing.
- 7:44SPEAKER_00: No, they probably don't, yeah.
- 7:45SPEAKER_00: All that you all that really is there is if you look, if you're coming into Fantasyland and you look over on the left, the left, correct, is the entrance.
- 7:56SPEAKER_00: I think it is.
- 7:57unknown: Yeah.
- 7:58SPEAKER_00: But you know, it just has the little sign in the doorway.
- 8:01SPEAKER_00: And especially over the last few years, yeah, it's not showy, it's not fancy, but it is air conditioned.
- 8:11SPEAKER_00: And if it's hot, although it doesn't tend to get it doesn't get melt your face off hot generally, like it does in Florida, but it's just so cool.
- 8:20SPEAKER_00: And walking through and seeing the depictions, especially like the sp the spinning wheels burning.
- 8:27SPEAKER_00: And it's just it's not usually very crowded because people don't know or don't care.
- 8:33SPEAKER_00: But there's a couple of really cool effects at the end.
- 8:37SPEAKER_00: The dress changes color in the book, or is it a is it projected on the book?
- 8:44SPEAKER_00: I don't remember.
- 8:45SPEAKER_00: But I just thought, you know, I think that's a lovely sort of Zen kind of experience Disney, not not in a not in a stressful or fast-paced way.
- 8:58SPEAKER_00: I decided it was kind of Zen.
- 9:00SPEAKER_00: So it got my number five.
- 9:02SPEAKER_00: So my number five, uh, if we have listened to our previous, you'll know that this is on the list there too.
- 9:09SPEAKER_00: But it's Pirates of the Caribbean.
- 9:11SPEAKER_00: Now I oh right.
- 9:13SPEAKER_00: I recall this now because you apparently find cannon fire calming.
- 9:19SPEAKER_00: And like, listen, I know that it's an odd choice for a Zen list, but the attraction itself, uh, you know, it's a boat ride, which I always enjoy.
- 9:28SPEAKER_00: I find those relaxing.
- 9:29SPEAKER_00: And you, you know, you slowly drift through those scenes with the music and the water, and yes, the the cannonballs.
- 9:36SPEAKER_00: And the occasional cannonball firing next to and exploding and fire.
- 9:41SPEAKER_00: You know, a town on fire relaxes me.
- 9:44SPEAKER_00: And I heard who isn't calm when they see buildings ablaze.
- 9:49SPEAKER_00: I just I love cruising through a story.
- 9:52SPEAKER_00: So, like just stare at the flames and be taken in.
- 9:55SPEAKER_00: I just think, you know, listen, you're sitting in a boat, you're moving slowly through the dark, it's an immersive environment, it's dark, it's cold.
- 10:03SPEAKER_00: I dig it.
- 10:04SPEAKER_00: So I you're nothing if not consistent.
- 10:07SPEAKER_00: I think it's a fine way to take a break and and and relax a little bit.
- 10:12SPEAKER_00: So there you go.
- 10:12SPEAKER_00: That's my number five is Pirates of the Caribbean.
- 10:15SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 10:16SPEAKER_00: Well, now my number four, my number four is interesting because it can be very much not a Zen attraction.
- 10:25SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 10:26SPEAKER_00: And I think Savannah proves that in spades.
- 10:29SPEAKER_00: But I carefully said, if you choose a non-swinging Pixar Pal around cabin, that is a very Zen attraction.
- 10:40SPEAKER_00: So I I find it, and I guess it's that may well yin, yin and yang are a very different religion, correct?
- 10:48SPEAKER_00: You've got the yin and the yang on that Pixar pal around, but but the Zen, if you're if you're in the the non-swinging car, you you hear the screaming from from the other cars, obviously.
- 11:03SPEAKER_00: They're not soundproof.
- 11:04SPEAKER_00: And does it sound like people are being murdered?
- 11:06SPEAKER_00: A little, but that's that's kind of calming, like cannon fire and charm, you know, right.
- 11:13SPEAKER_00: And uh, but the view and and just the overall, you know, peacefulness at the top, because you do go a little higher in the attached cars because they're attached to the outer ring, and anytime you're in a swinging car, gravity is gonna pull you down away from the top.
- 11:33SPEAKER_00: So so I decided to go with the non-swinging Pixar Palaround cars as my number four Zen attraction at Disneyland.
- 11:43SPEAKER_00: All right, so I'm gonna go with my number four is Great Moments with Mr.
- 11:48SPEAKER_00: Lincoln.
- 11:49SPEAKER_00: I I truly I was like, ugh, I really wanted to put that slash Walt Disney and Magical Life on my list, and it's I did it didn't get there.
- 12:00SPEAKER_00: And I haven't seen you know the the New Disney show there, but I was really very moved by that, but also it was really cool to just sit down and like take in the show.
- 12:14SPEAKER_00: And I think never underestimate sitting in air conditioning in this.
- 12:18SPEAKER_00: Although uh the last time we were there, it was so cold, it wasn't about the air conditioning, it was about we need to get inside to get warm.
- 12:25SPEAKER_00: Um Great Moments of Mr.
- 12:28SPEAKER_00: Lincoln, I think, is so cool because we've talked about it, but it's like a theatrical presentation with this incredibly detailed audio animatronic, and it's it's such a different pace, and I think that's why I kind of look at it as a Zen thing.
- 12:44SPEAKER_00: And it's it's also dude, it's a chance to appreciate like Disney's history of storytelling, and it is, it is a very important piece of Disney history storytelling.
- 12:56SPEAKER_00: I just think it's a great place to recharge if you need it, and why not sure?
- 13:00SPEAKER_00: And it did not make my list.
- 13:02SPEAKER_00: Why not chill out with Mr.
- 13:03SPEAKER_00: Lincoln?
- 13:04SPEAKER_00: So there you go, my number four.
- 13:05SPEAKER_00: Maybe they should rename it.
- 13:07SPEAKER_00: Maybe they should just rename it chilling out with Mr.
- 13:09SPEAKER_00: Lincoln.
- 13:10SPEAKER_00: I like chillin' out with Lincoln.
- 13:11SPEAKER_00: It it'd give it a hipper vibe, maybe.
- 13:14SPEAKER_00: Living with Lincoln, you know?
- 13:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah, living with Lincoln, chilling with chilling with the 16th president.
- 13:22SPEAKER_00: That that's not good.
- 13:23SPEAKER_00: I wouldn't go with that.
- 13:25SPEAKER_00: But yeah, something.
- 13:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah, all right.
- 13:27SPEAKER_00: I like it.
- 13:27SPEAKER_00: I like it.
- 13:28SPEAKER_00: Alright, so we're up to my number three, are we?
- 13:30SPEAKER_00: We are indeed.
- 13:32SPEAKER_00: All right, this is definitely a Mongello.
- 13:34SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 13:35SPEAKER_00: Uh, because I included three things in this one, but they all fall under transportation.
- 13:42SPEAKER_00: So in my transportation banner, my bullet points are the monorail, okay, which is just now I say this having been highly irritated on at least two days of our last trip, that apparently the monorails get kind of hot in the middle of the day, so they stop running them.
- 14:05SPEAKER_00: There were a couple times we really wanted to hop on in Tomorrowland and ride to downtown Disney, and they were not available.
- 14:14SPEAKER_00: So uh that irked me a bit, but I do know from previous visits that that there's nothing more zen, I don't think, than the monorail.
- 14:24SPEAKER_00: It's it moves quietly, it takes you through the park on a unique vantage point.
- 14:30SPEAKER_00: So the monorail is my first one, and the other two are the rivers of America Transportation, the riverboat, and exclusive to Disneyland.
- 14:41SPEAKER_00: Well, actually, I guess the riverboat's exclusive to Disneyland these days, not to bring up a sore subject, but but I did.
- 14:50SPEAKER_00: Uh so the exclusive to Disneyland Riverboat, as well as the the Columbia, which is that's one of those things I go, when was the last time I rode the Columbia?
- 15:02SPEAKER_00: And I honestly can't tell you.
- 15:04SPEAKER_00: So I but I should.
- 15:07SPEAKER_00: And the next time I want to do like off-the-beaten track Disneyland attractions, I just I know it's Zen because you're on that river and you're making the journey.
- 15:17SPEAKER_00: And so that's that's my number three.
- 15:20SPEAKER_00: Are a Mongelloed version of transportation monorail riverboat Columbus.
- 15:26SPEAKER_00: Uh it's not the steamship Columbia.
- 15:29SPEAKER_00: Uh sailing sailing ship Columbia.
- 15:31SPEAKER_00: Is it sailing ship Columbia?
- 15:33SPEAKER_00: I know exactly what you're talking about.
- 15:34SPEAKER_00: Um, that's a lovely one, and I'm gonna allow you to Mongello that because that was lovely.
- 15:39SPEAKER_00: Uh your three.
- 15:40SPEAKER_00: My number three is Stoybook Land Canal Boats.
- 15:43SPEAKER_00: Um, all right.
- 15:45SPEAKER_00: That that's our first overlap, but it's higher in my book.
- 15:48SPEAKER_00: Okay, I just think it's one of the most peaceful experiences you can have in Disneyland.
- 15:52SPEAKER_00: Well, then why isn't it higher on your list?
- 15:54SPEAKER_00: Well, because there's other just two other things that are I find more peaceful.
- 15:58SPEAKER_00: I'll be interested to hear.
- 16:00SPEAKER_00: But you cruise through, I love those miniature versions.
- 16:04SPEAKER_00: Uh, they're so cool and detailed, and I don't know that there's something cool about everything so tiny and detailed.
- 16:10SPEAKER_00: And let's talk about the landscaping.
- 16:12SPEAKER_00: My god, the beautiful landscaping.
- 16:14SPEAKER_00: I'll let you just you know wax poetic out of the way.
- 16:16SPEAKER_00: But I have hired Mr.
- 16:17SPEAKER_00: Miyagi to bonsai those trees.
- 16:19SPEAKER_00: I say, yeah, yeah.
- 16:20SPEAKER_00: I just think it's the kind of attraction where you can just kind of take your time looking around, you know.
- 16:27SPEAKER_00: There's like no Yes, absolutely.
- 16:29SPEAKER_00: There's just no pressure on it, and I don't there's no big drop or dramatics at all.
- 16:34SPEAKER_00: You just simply enjoy the journey.
- 16:35SPEAKER_00: And I think the definition of a Zen attraction is a gentle boat ride, some beautiful landscaping.
- 16:41SPEAKER_00: And I, you know, maybe that's it's uh says a lot about me.
- 16:46SPEAKER_00: I love a boat, I love a good boat ride with some landscaping.
- 16:48SPEAKER_00: So there you go.
- 16:49SPEAKER_00: It's three nice storybook land canal boats.
- 16:53SPEAKER_00: All right, all right.
- 16:54SPEAKER_00: Well, my number two, and some people might quibble with this because I guess if you had well, I guess if you had a fear of heights, you also would quibble with my non-swinging Pixar Palaround car.
- 17:04SPEAKER_00: Sure.
- 17:05SPEAKER_00: And some people might argue that this is not necessarily Zen, but I find it really, really peaceful and freeing, and I'm choosing soarin' over whatever.
- 17:18SPEAKER_00: Oh, interesting.
- 17:19SPEAKER_00: Okay, which is I see where I see where you're going.
- 17:22SPEAKER_00: Which is not an soaring over whatever sounds a little like you know, I'm just saying whether it's soarin' over California, soarin' around the world, or soarin' across the across the United States.
- 17:34SPEAKER_00: Soarin over the US?
- 17:36SPEAKER_00: What's the new one?
- 17:37SPEAKER_00: What's what is its official?
- 17:39SPEAKER_00: America, right?
- 17:39SPEAKER_00: Is it America?
- 17:40SPEAKER_00: Soarin across America.
- 17:41SPEAKER_00: That sounds about right.
- 17:42SPEAKER_00: So it's a it's over California, around the world, and across America.
- 17:49SPEAKER_00: Yes?
- 17:50SPEAKER_00: I think so.
- 17:51SPEAKER_00: We could yes, someone, someone who is industrious will look those up, I'm sure.
- 17:55SPEAKER_00: And and my uh my research department has gone to bed, so I'm not gonna get that answer.
- 18:01SPEAKER_00: Uh but yeah, soarin over any of those things, I you know it lifts you up.
- 18:07SPEAKER_00: You are sit you are safely seat belted, your legs can swing freely, you're flying through the sky, a gentle breeze in your face.
- 18:16SPEAKER_00: That to me is then.
- 18:18SPEAKER_00: And and thus it is why I chose soaring over whatever.
- 18:23SPEAKER_00: I love that.
- 18:24SPEAKER_00: You know, I didn't even think about including that, but you're very right.
- 18:27SPEAKER_00: Well, I go, are some people gonna say that's that it's too like scary?
- 18:32SPEAKER_00: Do they consider that a thrill ride?
- 18:34SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 18:34SPEAKER_00: But and maybe I don't know.
- 18:36SPEAKER_00: And if they do, I I God bless you.
- 18:40SPEAKER_00: I put it on my Zen list.
- 18:44SPEAKER_00: Okay, I have no notes on that, actually.
- 18:46SPEAKER_00: I was just I was just thinking about it.
- 18:48SPEAKER_00: I was like, actually, I do kind of find that relaxing too.
- 18:50SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 18:51SPEAKER_00: So what's your number two?
- 18:52SPEAKER_00: So my number two is actually the Disneyland Railroad.
- 18:56SPEAKER_00: Um that is an excellent choice.
- 18:58SPEAKER_00: You took the one transportation that I don't think I covered.
- 19:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 19:02SPEAKER_00: Um it circles the park, giving you a chance to uh sit down, you know.
- 19:07SPEAKER_00: And that's and I remember when we did this, we were at a point where we had walked too much and we were like, we're done.
- 19:13SPEAKER_00: Can we just sit down for a little bit?
- 19:15SPEAKER_00: And so that's and and our last tour, it gave us a place to eat our beignets from a box.
- 19:20SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah, that's right.
- 19:21SPEAKER_00: Yes, yes.
- 19:22SPEAKER_00: I just think it's a great way to get from one area of the park to another without walking the distance.
- 19:28SPEAKER_00: Not that Disneyland's uh, you know, as big as Disney World, but um there's just some I love a good train ride in general, and you just get a very interesting perspective of Disneyland.
- 19:40SPEAKER_00: Plus, the Disneyland train has some really cool, you know, those interior scenes are really, really pretty.
- 19:46SPEAKER_00: And yeah, I don't know.
- 19:47SPEAKER_00: There's something about it.
- 19:49SPEAKER_00: Although I will say, did I did I mention did I mention that when we took the train last time, the dioramas, which is why we wrote it to show Kimberly the dioramas, were all blacked out, they're getting restored.
- 20:01SPEAKER_00: Oh no, and there were just there, there was like the occasional animal, which we were on, we were on the walk in waltz footsteps tours, and I said to the guide, it's like, why is it just the occasional animal?
- 20:13SPEAKER_00: And she said there's like an activity for kids where it talks about finding these certain animals in the diorama, and so they had to like put those animals somewhere.
- 20:26SPEAKER_00: So that's really funny.
- 20:28SPEAKER_00: Yeah, okay.
- 20:30SPEAKER_00: Uh, but okay, good one.
- 20:31SPEAKER_00: All right, so we're up to my number one.
- 20:33SPEAKER_00: Well, spoiler alert, I guess that's not really the correct term, but so my number one is the storybook canal boats, because I in my book, they are the most zen for every for everything you said, and even though Kimberly thinks that hookers hang out at the storybook landing, um which is not so zen, depend I guess depending on your philosophies, but but for every you know, other than maybe the giant duck in Hyde Park by the Peter Pan statue, that can be a little jarring to think that like there could be little Londoners that are gonna get squashed by a giant duck.
- 21:14SPEAKER_00: Um that's not a zen.
- 21:17SPEAKER_00: But but yeah, it is just and especially at night, I've said that more than once on this program, but but to ride that at night when everything is lit so beautifully, and it's just to me, it is the most Zen attraction.
- 21:33SPEAKER_00: But what what is the most Zen attraction for you at Disneyland?
- 21:37SPEAKER_00: Okay, so for me, uh if you need to slow down at Disneyland, I think the easiest place to do it uh is when you are uh on another little boat ride just gliding through a colorful celebration of children around the world, and it's a small world.
- 21:58SPEAKER_00: I it's so It's gentle and it's completely removed from like the hustle and bustle of like a theme park.
- 22:05SPEAKER_00: And I think there might there might be some naysayers out there who say that song is not Xan.
- 22:11SPEAKER_00: And like I it's obviously impossible to escape, but that is part of the experience for me.
- 22:19SPEAKER_00: I there's just something about a boat ride that uh automatically like soothes me.
- 22:25SPEAKER_00: And I think uh it's one of the best places at Disneyland to sit back and relax.
- 22:31SPEAKER_00: You know, despite the song being a crazy earworm.
- 22:35SPEAKER_00: I just think there's something about it's a small word, specifically at Disneyland, that yeah really, really does it for me.
- 22:42SPEAKER_00: So there you go.
- 22:43SPEAKER_00: That's my number one.
- 22:43SPEAKER_00: It's a small word.
- 22:44SPEAKER_00: As my friend Tristan says, no notes.
- 22:47SPEAKER_00: I think that's fair.
- 22:48SPEAKER_00: I know what a good little list though.
- 22:50SPEAKER_00: We really only overlapping one time.
- 22:52SPEAKER_00: That's pretty good.
- 22:54SPEAKER_00: That is that is just goes to show there's at least nine different things at Disneyland that we consider Zen.
- 23:02SPEAKER_00: I love it.
- 23:03SPEAKER_00: Um I'd be curious to see what our listeners uh think about that.
- 23:07SPEAKER_00: You should let us know in the comments what audio tell us.
- 23:12SPEAKER_00: Yes, yeah.
- 23:13SPEAKER_00: Um well, I love that.
- 23:16SPEAKER_00: That did nicely calm me down, actually, thinking about some of that stuff.
- 23:19SPEAKER_00: I am doing that.
- 23:20SPEAKER_00: So I am so much calmer after my September the 21st rant now having discussed things at Disneyland that Zen me.
- 23:30SPEAKER_00: I love it.
- 23:31SPEAKER_00: Well, hey, if somebody wanted to go to Disneyland, I bet you could help them out.
- 23:36SPEAKER_00: I bet I could.
- 23:37SPEAKER_00: Just go check out that of Mice and Main Street Men website that Tristan has so lovingly structured.
- 23:43SPEAKER_00: And there's a link there that'll take you to my travel leaders uh agent page, which says email me or call me, and I will I would love to talk to you about your next Disney trip or Universal or you know, Europe or wherever you want to go.
- 24:00SPEAKER_00: Wherever you want to go, be Zen.
- 24:02SPEAKER_00: I will help you get there.
- 24:03SPEAKER_00: That's right.
- 24:04SPEAKER_00: Those Disney cruises, those are Zen.
- 24:05SPEAKER_00: You could help them with that.
- 24:06SPEAKER_00: I know you could.
- 24:07SPEAKER_00: Oh, and a veranda?
- 24:09SPEAKER_00: Man.
- 24:10SPEAKER_00: Oh, nothing more than that.
- 24:13SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 24:13SPEAKER_00: I'm hitting two Disney cruises next year, and you sell bougie.
- 24:17SPEAKER_00: At least one time I'll have a veranda.
- 24:19SPEAKER_00: At least once.
- 24:20SPEAKER_00: The other time I have to the other time you'll be down in the hull.
- 24:25SPEAKER_00: I'll be down in the hull with the wife.
- 24:26SPEAKER_00: You'll probably be in Hooks Hovel.
- 24:28SPEAKER_00: Hooks Hovel, actually, yeah.
- 24:30SPEAKER_00: We will get to because we're doing back-to-backs, not to get into a spoke, but we're doing back to backs next summer on the adventure in Singapore.
- 24:37SPEAKER_00: And we are doing one of them.
- 24:39SPEAKER_00: We we are staying with Sav in her crew cabin.
- 24:42SPEAKER_00: She has a beautiful, beautiful cabin that I stayed in last year.
- 24:46SPEAKER_00: But then we will stay um as a guest as well, so we'll get to experience the ship from nice that it I don't think we we won't get a chances are we will not get a uh veranda on that because it's kind of wherever they want to put us.
- 25:04SPEAKER_00: But I am going with my family.
- 25:07SPEAKER_00: My brothers are all going on a cruise, and I'm going with them uh next fall, and I'm going to splurge for a veranda on that one, I think.
- 25:18SPEAKER_00: But a Disney cruise?
- 25:20SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and I you're gonna ask me which one, and I don't remember.
- 25:23SPEAKER_00: I see.
- 25:25SPEAKER_00: I might ask you to help me book it though, so I'll have to talk to you about that.
- 25:29SPEAKER_00: I'd be happy to help you do that.
- 25:31SPEAKER_00: Um but yeah, that's kind of you know, love love some zen in our world, and uh, we hope it brought you some zen as well.
- 25:40SPEAKER_00: And uh, you know, stick around next week.
- 25:42SPEAKER_00: We're gonna be doing some more of this Disneyland stuff, so stay tuned.
- 25:47SPEAKER_00: We're gonna amp it up a notch.
- 25:48SPEAKER_00: We'll go up a notch to family interactions, right?
- 25:52SPEAKER_00: That's right.
- 25:53SPEAKER_00: Just a notch.
- 25:53SPEAKER_00: But yeah, stick around.
