Oh my gosh. Achievement of Eagle scout. Yes. 00:00:51:14 - 00:00:52:09 MAK I loved that. 00:00:52:10 - 00:00:53:29 Courtney Congratulations. 00:00:54:01 - 00:01:06:21 MAK She's the one who did the project in sound, right? The walk, the walk. Walkway. Trail. Trail. It's called. Yes, I believe so. 00:01:06:24 - 00:01:11:01 Courtney And then Martin County fire rescue. 00:01:11:03 - 00:01:14:04 MAK I know they were. They honored someone too. 00:01:14:06 - 00:01:16:10 Courtney Yes. Heroic heart award. 00:01:16:12 - 00:01:25:01 MAK I think that's a new award for them. And I love how they're recognizing folks in the community. They're just doing some amazing stuff. 00:01:25:05 - 00:01:32:03 Courtney Yes. And so with that award, they recognize Madison. I'm going to mess this up, but I think it's Isler. 00:01:32:04 - 00:01:33:05 MAK Sure. 00:01:33:08 - 00:01:39:22 Courtney Esler I'm sorry if I messed it up, but she rescued a three year old from drowning at their apartment. 00:01:39:23 - 00:01:39:29 MAK Yeah. 00:01:39:29 - 00:01:40:22 Courtney They were all amazing. 00:01:40:23 - 00:01:45:20 MAK They were all the board meeting this past week, and it was really heartwarming to hear. 00:01:45:22 - 00:01:46:08 Courtney It was. 00:01:46:10 - 00:01:47:25 MAK Yep. 00:01:47:27 - 00:02:01:21 Courtney Okay. Up next, there also was a contract that was approved between us, the Martin County Board of County Commissioners and the State of Florida Department of Health for the operation of the Martin County Health Department. 00:02:01:22 - 00:02:16:18 MAK Yes, there are wonderful partner of ours. They do a lot of great work in the community, and we're often sharing the the information that they're putting out. That's just for the, you know, knowledge. Yeah, yeah. Health stuff. 00:02:16:21 - 00:02:17:11 Courtney Yes. 00:02:17:12 - 00:02:36:28 MAK Okay. We the we had a couple consent polls. We have a consent agenda. Right. And the board members can always pull an item for further discussion. And we had one of those was pulled. And then after the discussion. 00:02:37:01 - 00:02:39:18 Courtney Approved. Approved. 00:02:39:20 - 00:02:41:05 MAK Easy peasy. Just like. 00:02:41:05 - 00:02:42:05 Courtney That rate. 00:02:42:08 - 00:02:55:13 MAK Then there was information about a Pam, which is a preserve. Area management plan. Yes. And that was off of Cove Road, right. I think they did some updates to it and. 00:02:55:16 - 00:02:57:22 Courtney Following the LDR Martin County code. 00:02:57:23 - 00:02:59:07 MAK Yeah. What's an LDR. 00:02:59:10 - 00:03:00:20 Courtney A land development regulation. 00:03:00:22 - 00:03:04:24 MAK Wow. You're on fire today. 00:03:04:26 - 00:03:11:06 MAK Yes. What else did we do? Most utilities. No. 00:03:11:08 - 00:03:22:23 Courtney Not yet. That happened. Okay. But before utilities, the board also adopted an ordinance for a temporary interim planning period and moratorium on the submission. 00:03:22:25 - 00:03:23:15 MAK Say it again. 00:03:23:17 - 00:03:27:02 Courtney In acceptance of applications for large scale data centers. 00:03:27:03 - 00:03:57:04 MAK Right. And if you didn't get to watch the meeting, there was a lot of public comment. There was a lot of discussion for our board members between legal and the board members and everything. And I thought it was, I don't know. It's a big topic in a lot of communities. It is. And so I think people are happy that there's a planning period for for our staff to really learn more about the data centers and how they fit into communities. 00:03:57:12 - 00:04:05:02 Courtney Yeah. And now we can talk about the public hearing for the renewal of the utility water and wastewater rates. 00:04:05:03 - 00:04:18:00 MAK Yeah. So there was a good discussion about that. We had our utilities director here and some other folks, and they talked about its water and wastewater, and it's the rates and the fees and the charges and all of the stuff. 00:04:18:01 - 00:04:18:11 Courtney All the. 00:04:18:11 - 00:04:28:14 MAK Things, all the things that go with utilities. And the board adopted the resolution. Right? They did. And that's what I know about that. 00:04:28:17 - 00:04:37:00 Courtney Very well. The board also adopted the resolution approving the final site plan for the Martin County Operations Center. 00:04:37:02 - 00:04:39:01 MAK Yes. And this is super exciting. 00:04:39:02 - 00:04:43:19 Courtney This is exciting because if you see where they currently work. 00:04:43:21 - 00:04:44:11 MAK Yeah. 00:04:44:13 - 00:04:47:28 Courtney It's kind of like, hey, let's throw you here and see how it works. 00:04:47:29 - 00:05:10:23 MAK Yeah, the facility is going to be amazing. And that's that P3 process. It's a hardened facility. There's going to be space for all of the all of the field ops people. Yes. And I thought at the end it was funny. There was a very long discussion. And then Commissioner Heard says, can I ask you one more thing? And everybody kind of stopped. 00:05:10:25 - 00:05:23:21 MAK She goes, talk to me about the chicken coop. And so are public works director Jim Gordon explained the Sentinel Chicken chicken program that we have. Yes. You're familiar with. 00:05:23:22 - 00:05:24:09 Courtney Yes. 00:05:24:09 - 00:05:29:22 MAK And I thought I just thought it was it was a nice sort of lightweight. 00:05:29:24 - 00:05:30:11 Courtney Yes. 00:05:30:12 - 00:05:31:16 MAK Way to end that discussion. 00:05:31:17 - 00:05:38:08 Courtney And for those of you that don't know, the chickens go out into the field. They work there. 00:05:38:12 - 00:05:41:28 MAK They don't just fly out in the field. They're placed out in their place. 00:05:42:00 - 00:05:43:13 Courtney Yes. And they're. 00:05:43:16 - 00:05:45:24 MAK Because they're chicken coops in different areas. 00:05:45:25 - 00:05:57:02 Courtney Yes. And they actually can get bitten by a mosquito and see if it has any sort of disease that it could. 00:05:57:02 - 00:05:58:28 MAK Give to. They don't get the disease. 00:05:59:00 - 00:05:59:06 Courtney No. 00:05:59:13 - 00:06:00:16 MAK That's so cool about. 00:06:00:17 - 00:06:05:19 Courtney They have like immediate antibodies against it, which is so cool. I love that. So that's yes. 00:06:05:20 - 00:06:10:17 MAK So they're a really important part of our. Mosquito control. Yes. 00:06:10:18 - 00:06:11:08 Courtney Yeah, yeah. 00:06:11:10 - 00:06:12:04 MAK They're employees. 00:06:12:04 - 00:06:20:01 Courtney They are employees. And then this is something that's been going on a lot. Definitely. This week I was made to. 00:06:20:02 - 00:06:27:21 MAK Everywhere, like all up and down the eastern sea coast and even California. I saw. And everywhere they're having these record. 00:06:27:24 - 00:06:28:11 Courtney King. 00:06:28:13 - 00:06:33:21 MAK Tides like records since they've started keeping records. 00:06:33:25 - 00:06:35:03 Courtney Wow. 00:06:35:06 - 00:06:37:25 MAK Yeah, yeah. 00:06:37:27 - 00:06:39:06 Courtney Record breaking. 00:06:39:07 - 00:06:46:20 MAK It is. It is record breaking. But right here in our community, I know there's a lot of folks that are dealing with the tidal flooding. 00:06:46:22 - 00:06:51:27 Courtney Yeah. And so they do happen every year. 00:06:51:29 - 00:06:52:16 MAK This is the. 00:06:52:20 - 00:06:58:29 Courtney This is the time for them to happen. We still have two more time periods that they will happen up until December. 00:06:59:01 - 00:07:04:25 MAK But this was the highest one. Right. One sided with full moon. The rain. 00:07:04:26 - 00:07:06:12 Courtney The wind. 00:07:06:14 - 00:07:07:20 MAK Yes. It was. 00:07:07:23 - 00:07:08:12 Courtney Yes. 00:07:08:15 - 00:07:24:26 MAK So. And I thought it was interesting. I think Jim was talking about people were asking, well, can't you just put a pump there and, and pump out that water? Because that's what we usually do when there's, you know, a flooding issue. Do want to explain that to me. 00:07:24:28 - 00:07:31:23 Courtney Yeah. Well if it's a tidal flood right. You can't really put the water anywhere. 00:07:32:00 - 00:07:32:08 MAK No. 00:07:32:08 - 00:07:33:06 Courtney Because you can't put it. 00:07:33:06 - 00:07:39:06 MAK Back into the thing that's flooding is high. Right. So Yeah. 00:07:39:08 - 00:07:42:12 Courtney Yeah. Kind of just have to wait it out. 00:07:42:13 - 00:07:43:14 MAK Let it recede. 00:07:43:16 - 00:07:48:07 Courtney Yes. And just a yeah. For residents to. 00:07:48:13 - 00:07:56:02 MAK Had a conversation with him yesterday, and he gave us some, some good insight on what residents can do. 00:07:56:03 - 00:08:04:03 Courtney Yeah. So if the roads are flooded and you don't live on the road, try not to go through that roadway. 00:08:04:04 - 00:08:12:10 MAK I think what's happening is people are just driving down the roads, making big wakes, and that is actually flooding. 00:08:12:10 - 00:08:13:12 Courtney That could flood a home. 00:08:13:14 - 00:08:13:28 MAK Yes. 00:08:13:28 - 00:08:27:25 Courtney Property. Yeah. Because the water, if it's close to the home and you dress slowly and have a no wake. Yes, then it won't reach the home. But if you drive through fast and create a wake, it could flood someone's home. 00:08:27:25 - 00:08:30:23 MAK So no wake zones on our roadways, please. 00:08:30:24 - 00:08:34:27 Courtney Yes. During king tides? Yes. 00:08:35:00 - 00:08:38:09 MAK Also, you just should be careful and never drive through floodwater. 00:08:38:10 - 00:08:39:09 Courtney Because you don't know what's. 00:08:39:09 - 00:08:42:02 MAK Under it. It could be a snake. 00:08:42:04 - 00:08:44:28 Courtney Yeah, or something that could really mess up your car. 00:08:45:03 - 00:08:47:05 MAK Or it could just be deeper than, you know. Yeah. 00:08:47:06 - 00:08:48:02 Courtney Right. Yeah. 00:08:48:03 - 00:08:49:16 MAK Okay. 00:08:49:18 - 00:08:51:04 Courtney All right. I think that's. 00:08:51:05 - 00:08:52:04 MAK Is that it? 00:08:52:09 - 00:09:00:16 Courtney Yeah. That's it. Okay. I just want to give a shout out to our live audience today. I look up to George, but I didn't realize how tall he was. 00:09:26:19 - 00:09:27:22 Courtney I can stand on my tiptoes. 00:09:27:23 - 00:09:30:21 MAK No. It's okay.
