- 0:33Speaker 1: Hello.
- 0:33Speaker 2: You were heavily requested. Heavily heavily requested.
- 0:37Speaker 1: Well that's nice.
- 0:38Speaker 2: I asked who in aw other than John Moxley, would
- 0:41Speaker 2: you guys like me to have on the show, and
- 0:43Speaker 2: you were up at the top of the list.
- 0:45Speaker 1: Man, I'm like a top guy here.
- 0:46Speaker 2: I feel like you know a lot of our guys,
- 0:49Speaker 2: a lot of our fans sort of mixed with the
- 0:52Speaker 2: Ethan Page fans, so they've seen you on the vlogs
- 0:54Speaker 2: and they know that you're a toy guy.
- 0:56Speaker 1: You probably know that I'm friends with Dan Housen.
- 0:58Speaker 2: Friends with Dan Housen. You're one of us.
- 1:00Speaker 1: Really, yeah, I'm just like in disguise.
- 1:03Speaker 2: Yeah, yes, yes, for the general fan, but we know yeah,
- 1:07Speaker 2: and our fans know. So yeah, you heavily requested. So
- 1:10Speaker 2: let's just start. I mean, I got a lot of
- 1:11Speaker 2: questions from them. I don't even know if I've really
- 1:14Speaker 2: talked to you. What is the collection?
- 1:18Speaker 1: Uh? So I mean, this is like, this is a
- 1:22Speaker 1: hard question. So I am like a lifelong collector of
- 1:27Speaker 1: most things.
- 1:28Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:28Speaker 1: So my parents started me off young. My dad love toys,
- 1:34Speaker 1: love cartoons. I started watching He Man Ninja Turtles when
- 1:37Speaker 1: I was really young. Like there's family videos of me
- 1:39Speaker 1: like saying like, oh, I want he Man or Ninja
- 1:41Speaker 1: Turtles for Christmas. Is when I'm like three, and like
- 1:46Speaker 1: that kind of transpired into like my dad always like
- 1:49Speaker 1: had like a side hustle, and for a long time
- 1:51Speaker 1: they were doing an eBay store where they would sell toys.
- 1:56Speaker 1: Oh really, yeah, so they would they would go to
- 1:58Speaker 1: you know, Target and and all these places like early
- 2:01Speaker 1: in the morning when they're like unloading the trucks, breaking
- 2:04Speaker 1: the boxes and like get the Star Wars toys with
- 2:07Speaker 1: the you know, different lightsaber or like they knew all
- 2:11Speaker 1: the stuff.
- 2:11Speaker 2: It's what year would this like? Was this nineties?
- 2:14Speaker 1: Yeah? So this was probably late nineties, like ninety six
- 2:19Speaker 1: to like two thousand, so this was like, you know
- 2:22Speaker 1: before everything really started, Like the internet was still pretty fresh. Yeah,
- 2:28Speaker 1: so you kind of had to look a lot of
- 2:29Speaker 1: this stuff up in magazines and stuff. It's funny that
- 2:31Speaker 1: my parents were so like like kind of on the there,
- 2:35Speaker 1: you know, on the forefront, because it's toy collecting has
- 2:37Speaker 1: been forever, but like as far as like internet selling,
- 2:41Speaker 1: like absolutely, they were kind of like, you know, on
- 2:44Speaker 1: the forefront of that. And it's funny because they have
- 2:47Speaker 1: not kept up with technology at all, Like my dad
- 2:50Speaker 1: barely knows how to use iPhone. Oh really yeah, but
- 2:52Speaker 1: like they knew what they were looking for at the time.
- 2:55Speaker 1: My dad would take us to comic cons like we
- 2:58Speaker 1: I remember when we were when I was like eight,
- 2:59Speaker 1: we were just go to Santigocoma Con. You just go
- 3:01Speaker 1: on the day and buy a ticket like oh yeah,
- 3:03Speaker 1: it wasn't like it is now where it's you know,
- 3:06Speaker 1: sold out months and months in advance. But uh yeah.
- 3:10Speaker 1: So my bedroom growing up was just like carded figures,
- 3:14Speaker 1: like carded Star Wars figures, carded Marvel figures. Card Yeah,
- 3:19Speaker 1: like that was like my decoration in my room was
- 3:21Speaker 1: like carded figures.
- 3:22Speaker 3: Uh.
- 3:23Speaker 1: And then as I got older, like I sold off
- 3:26Speaker 1: my collection and then I would you know, I got
- 3:28Speaker 1: into like magic cards, So then I started collecting magic
- 3:32Speaker 1: cards and Pokemon cards, and then you know, I started
- 3:37Speaker 1: getting to music when I was in middle school. So
- 3:40Speaker 1: then I started collecting records and t shirts, and then
- 3:43Speaker 1: in my twenties I started collecting shoes. So it's like
- 3:47Speaker 1: it's always been, I'm always collecting something, and unfortunately I
- 3:52Speaker 1: thought that I was done with it, because you know,
- 3:54Speaker 1: I used to collect like like kid robot toys and like,
- 3:59Speaker 1: uh like final toys. But that fad kind of went out,
- 4:04Speaker 1: and I thought I was done collecting toys, and then
- 4:07Speaker 1: I hopped into a can I cuss on this? I
- 4:10Speaker 1: don't know? Sure, Okay, I have to do a fucking
- 4:12Speaker 1: toy vlog with Ethan Page that I convinced you to
- 4:15Speaker 1: buy that Luke Skywalker toy. And since then it's just
- 4:18Speaker 1: like now it's just yeah, it's all.
- 4:22Speaker 2: Back, Okay, Okay, Okay. So now, first of all, there
- 4:25Speaker 2: was no playing with the toys when.
- 4:26Speaker 4: You were little.
- 4:27Speaker 1: You just oh, I had a lot of toys. Okay, yeah,
- 4:30Speaker 1: I had a lot of toys to play with. But like,
- 4:32Speaker 1: I don't know, I just.
- 4:34Speaker 2: But you knew enough to maybe keep someone card.
- 4:36Speaker 1: And I don't think I knew like that they were
- 4:38Speaker 1: rare or not. I don't even know if they were.
- 4:40Speaker 1: I just like I've always liked I always buy doubles. Now,
- 4:44Speaker 1: I love how I want to pose a figure and
- 4:47Speaker 1: I want a figure on card because I think that
- 4:50Speaker 1: there is an art to the box, to the presentation
- 4:54Speaker 1: to everything, like and like I feel like that is
- 4:57Speaker 1: the purest form is supposed to be in and is
- 5:00Speaker 1: like when it's on card. But then obviously you want
- 5:03Speaker 1: to play with it too.
- 5:03Speaker 2: So yes, yeah, yeah, okay, all right. So then and
- 5:08Speaker 2: that we went to Happy eight in Milwaukee.
- 5:11Speaker 1: I believe it was it's Super eight or Happy eight. Yeah,
- 5:13Speaker 1: yeah something mate.
- 5:14Speaker 2: Yeah, and then uh oh, no problem, So we were there.
- 5:20Speaker 2: You you convinced me to buy that Luke. I got
- 5:21Speaker 2: a really good deal on it.
- 5:22Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:22Speaker 2: You also convinced me to buy a Han solo I
- 5:25Speaker 2: did later on. I actually you gotta got fired for that.
- 5:28Speaker 2: I got fired for that. I did talk about that
- 5:29Speaker 2: in the podcast. Pretty ridiculous. But I made a whole
- 5:32Speaker 2: display with both of those. So I have like a
- 5:35Speaker 2: it's in a prime spot in my room. The Luke
- 5:37Speaker 2: and the Han hung up, and I put the new
- 5:40Speaker 2: versions of those figures open in front of them.
- 5:43Speaker 1: You should, uh, you should get like a little devil
- 5:45Speaker 1: figure and then like.
- 5:47Speaker 2: You micro brawler in the Yeah.
- 5:50Speaker 1: So I'm glad that I could, uh you know, convince you.
- 5:53Speaker 1: I hope that I get to do that in the future.
- 5:54Speaker 1: But uh so.
- 5:56Speaker 2: Now you have if you just started within the year,
- 6:00Speaker 2: what are we talking, You got one shelf in the
- 6:02Speaker 2: office or something.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Yeah, right, So my I guess my toy collecting started
- 6:10Speaker 1: a little bit before that. What was it two years
- 6:14Speaker 1: ago whenever the Haslab Galactus came up for pre order. Yeah,
- 6:21Speaker 1: I was talking to Dan Houson about it and he's like, oh, yeah,
- 6:24Speaker 1: I bought two of them, like maybe I can resell
- 6:26Speaker 1: one of them and pay for the other one. I
- 6:28Speaker 1: was like, oh, that's cool. So I looked it up
- 6:30Speaker 1: and I was like, well, this figure is awesome, and
- 6:33Speaker 1: uh I've always had a thing for like big figures,
- 6:37Speaker 1: and I was like, well, I have to have this.
- 6:39Speaker 1: So I bought. I bought two of them as well.
- 6:41Speaker 1: And that was like before I started collecting toys again,
- 6:47Speaker 1: So that just kind of added into the collection. So
- 6:51Speaker 1: my collection is unique in the fact that it is
- 6:54Speaker 1: very just nostalgic for me. It's almost me like just
- 6:58Speaker 1: collecting toys that like spark a memory from my childhood. Absolutely,
- 7:03Speaker 1: so I have I have so much shit I haven't
- 7:09Speaker 1: like properly displayed at all. I'm in the I'm in
- 7:12Speaker 1: like the the midst of that right now.
- 7:15Speaker 2: I have fun of it. That's the new playing with
- 7:16Speaker 2: the toys I have.
- 7:17Speaker 1: Like, Uh, I went and got a bunch of those
- 7:19Speaker 1: like billy bookcases from Ikea. So I have like two
- 7:23Speaker 1: big ones and like three small ones and they're kind
- 7:26Speaker 1: of like curved in my office and uh, Galactus is
- 7:30Speaker 1: right in the middle with all of the heralds. Uh
- 7:33Speaker 1: what else do I have? So I've made.
- 7:36Speaker 2: Some fantastic four would be flying around them or.
- 7:37Speaker 1: No, no, I just got the heralds fantastic forest boring.
- 7:43Speaker 1: It's weird, but so my my collections are mainly Spawn.
- 7:52Speaker 1: I love McFarland toys.
- 7:53Speaker 2: The vintage or the new ones, so both.
- 7:57Speaker 1: I've collected all of the new spawns like that are
- 8:00Speaker 1: in Target right now because they are incredible looking. I
- 8:05Speaker 1: think that McFarland maybe over time, has had the best
- 8:09Speaker 1: figures of all.
- 8:10Speaker 2: Time away when I was a kid. Yeah, it's like,
- 8:12Speaker 2: doesn't even it wasn't even a toy.
- 8:14Speaker 1: So yeah exactly. I mean it might might have said
- 8:16Speaker 1: not a toy on the package. Yeah, yeah, but you know,
- 8:20Speaker 1: the spawn toys, the original ones I've gotten like the
- 8:24Speaker 1: first wave, and then like now I'm just collecting everything else,
- 8:27Speaker 1: which there's just so many. But they're cheap. They're super cheap,
- 8:33Speaker 1: Like I don't think there's a spawn toy that's over.
- 8:36Speaker 2: Twenty dollars, even the old ones, the old ones.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Especially, Wow. So like you can get any almost any
- 8:42Speaker 1: carded spawn toy for ten bucks, like in decent condition.
- 8:46Speaker 2: Wow.
- 8:48Speaker 1: You know they have like I think over the pandemic
- 8:50Speaker 1: they came out with like they did like a kickstarter
- 8:53Speaker 1: for these like crazy looking spawn toys. Oh yeah, those
- 8:56Speaker 1: were pretty pricey. Those were a couple hundred bucks. But
- 8:59Speaker 1: I mean as far as like collecting, like you're not
- 9:03Speaker 1: gonna break the bank collecting spon toys. They just look awesome.
- 9:07Speaker 1: So I went to home depot. I got a bunch
- 9:09Speaker 1: of like plastic tracking and if you if you double
- 9:18Speaker 1: face tape the tracking on the wall, you can slide
- 9:21Speaker 1: the card in and it holds. So it's like it's
- 9:25Speaker 1: kind of like a little cheap hack. I mean I
- 9:28Speaker 1: think it was. The tracking was it was really cheap,
- 9:31Speaker 1: so like fifty bucks for like an entire wall, and
- 9:34Speaker 1: then you slide the card and then it sucks because
- 9:36Speaker 1: some of the figures are heavy so it'll pull off.
- 9:39Speaker 1: But they're ten bucks. You just put a little bit
- 9:41Speaker 1: of tape on the back and stick it to the wall.
- 9:43Speaker 2: Okay, I like that.
- 9:46Speaker 1: Yeah, so I did that all around the TV in
- 9:49Speaker 1: my office. So now my wife calls it the spon Tron.
- 9:52Speaker 1: But there's like fifty carded spawn toys around that. It
- 9:55Speaker 1: started with one, and you can see that one that
- 9:58Speaker 1: I bought. It's on Ethan pages to vlogged from Happy eight.
- 10:01Speaker 1: I bought a widow toy and then they just kind
- 10:07Speaker 1: of blew up from there, and especially when you find
- 10:09Speaker 1: out how cheap they are. You go to a story
- 10:10Speaker 1: you're like, oh, these are all ten bucks, Like yeah,
- 10:12Speaker 1: by thirty of them.
- 10:13Speaker 2: So yeah, Ethan's talked before about enjoying the you know,
- 10:18Speaker 2: you start a collection and you sort of say, I'm
- 10:20Speaker 2: only going to buy this in a store because I
- 10:21Speaker 2: enjoy the looking for it. Because you could just literally
- 10:24Speaker 2: you could be sitting in gatering and buy every sponn
- 10:27Speaker 2: toy you need eBay. So what do you do both?
- 10:31Speaker 1: Or so I do both? I like to for certain things,
- 10:35Speaker 1: so for like the Spawn toys, I'm almost using it
- 10:37Speaker 1: as like a wallpaper. So I'm just kind of like
- 10:40Speaker 1: I've bought a couple of lots on eBay, but I
- 10:42Speaker 1: do like finding like the rare ones. You know, they
- 10:45Speaker 1: have like different color variants and they have different special
- 10:48Speaker 1: edition ones. I like finding those in the wild. But
- 10:52Speaker 1: so it kind of started with Spawn. I've always liked Marvel.
- 10:57Speaker 1: That's like always been my thing.
- 11:00Speaker 2: Are you doing the vintage or the if you got
- 11:02Speaker 2: into the legends.
- 11:04Speaker 1: I got a couple of Legends. I'm trying not to
- 11:06Speaker 1: get like too deep into that. I'm trying to like
- 11:08Speaker 1: limit it. So I like Daredevil, Punisher and Ghostwriter, and
- 11:13Speaker 1: I'm trying to I'm kind of bummed that has that
- 11:15Speaker 1: Ghostwriter didn't fund.
- 11:17Speaker 2: But did you get that new retro karting ghost ghost Writer?
- 11:21Speaker 1: Yeah, awesome. It's sick. So I try to like limit
- 11:25Speaker 1: some of my collections. Like the higher end stuff that
- 11:29Speaker 1: I collect is like Storm collectibles. I tried to stick
- 11:33Speaker 1: with characters that were also wrestlers, So I have like
- 11:39Speaker 1: I have the Suzuki, I have the Likeer, but I
- 11:41Speaker 1: also have like Zenggi from Street Fighter. There's a couple
- 11:45Speaker 1: other street Fighters guys that are also wrestlers I can't
- 11:50Speaker 1: remember off time. Yeah, yeah, he's a he's a sumo wrestler.
- 11:55Speaker 1: But then there's like a David I can't think of
- 11:59Speaker 1: the name right now.
- 12:01Speaker 2: I only played Street Fighter two anyways.
- 12:03Speaker 1: Yeah, but then like the Mortal Kombat figures are amazing,
- 12:07Speaker 1: like the Kintaro and then the one that I'm looking
- 12:09Speaker 1: for currently, which is my current grail, I guess is
- 12:12Speaker 1: to become a Goro bro with Ethan Oh yeah, Dane.
- 12:15Speaker 1: But it's like I refuse to buy it online, like
- 12:17Speaker 1: I have to find that in.
- 12:18Speaker 2: The wild, especially on a blog, would be great.
- 12:20Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly. So a couple Storm collectibles, some Super seven stuff,
- 12:28Speaker 1: like obviously this stuff is way priceier, so yeah, I
- 12:32Speaker 1: try to limit myself a little bit with that. Uh,
- 12:35Speaker 1: Turtles is like I would say, becoming my main thing.
- 12:39Speaker 2: So which ones the seven?
- 12:41Speaker 1: So I have a bunch of Super seven Turtles. I
- 12:44Speaker 1: have like Bebop Rock, Sady, Shredder, Sewer, Samurai Leo. I
- 12:50Speaker 1: just actually got all of the loose playmate figures of
- 12:55Speaker 1: those like complete, so I can like put them with
- 12:58Speaker 1: the Super seven Ultimates, which is pretty cool. But I
- 13:03Speaker 1: like the quarter scale Necca figures as well. Oh yeah,
- 13:07Speaker 1: Mecca Mecca I think overall maybe makes the best toy
- 13:11Speaker 1: lines currently too. Their licensings are like right up my alley,
- 13:16Speaker 1: Like they have Terminator, Predator Aliens and then Ninja Turtles.
- 13:21Speaker 1: That's all the things I like. But as far as
- 13:25Speaker 1: like having like the tune series stuff and then they
- 13:28Speaker 1: have the the movie stuff, it's amazing. And like everyone
- 13:33Speaker 1: at Mecca is like huge wrestling fans as well.
- 13:37Speaker 2: Yeah, did you meet oh man, what's his name? We
- 13:39Speaker 2: met him at Comic Con a bunch of times. Randy.
- 13:42Speaker 1: I haven't met Randy. Oh maybe I did me Randy.
- 13:44Speaker 2: He's a man.
- 13:45Speaker 1: I think I met him at New York Comic Con.
- 13:47Speaker 1: He loves Yeah, And but my friend Blaine works there,
- 13:51Speaker 1: and my friend Blaine has introduced me to everybody else
- 13:54Speaker 1: and they were all going to you know, they went
- 13:56Speaker 1: to Full Gear when we were there. Oh yeah, So
- 14:00Speaker 1: it was like it was cool to like have that
- 14:03Speaker 1: path client. It's like, oh, hey, I like toys, you
- 14:05Speaker 1: guys like wrestling. Let's talk. So you know, I have
- 14:09Speaker 1: a ton of neck of stuff. I actually just found
- 14:13Speaker 1: my grail last night, which was like my ultimate grail
- 14:16Speaker 1: and it's it's an interesting one because I couldn't even
- 14:20Speaker 1: find it online, Like I couldn't find it anywhere. And
- 14:23Speaker 1: it's the quarter scale Raphael and Disguise.
- 14:26Speaker 2: Oh so I didn't even know they had that.
- 14:29Speaker 1: Yeah, and I got it for like a really good price.
- 14:31Speaker 1: So I got a toy Vomit.
- 14:33Speaker 2: Yeah, I also got a Grail at toy Vomit.
- 14:36Speaker 1: Very he sold to me for like four hundred bucks
- 14:38Speaker 1: and like the cheapest I've seen it is like six
- 14:42Speaker 1: hundred on eBay and that's like a sold one. So
- 14:45Speaker 1: it's like, you can't even find this damn figure. And
- 14:47Speaker 1: then he sold it to me for a great price,
- 14:49Speaker 1: so I can't complain at all. And it's an awesome
- 14:52Speaker 1: looking figure. All of the quarter scale stuff, Like I
- 14:55Speaker 1: have Raff and Disguise, h Shredder, and then I have
- 14:59Speaker 1: a foot Soldier. Eventually I'm gonna have all of them.
- 15:02Speaker 1: But yeah, I really think that those are really well made.
- 15:06Speaker 1: They look awesome, Like Shredder's cape is incredible, like his
- 15:10Speaker 1: like his outfit is like Sparkles. It's their detail is amazing.
- 15:16Speaker 1: And have you been to Mecca like that?
- 15:18Speaker 2: Actually, so we keep talking about doing a lot.
- 15:21Speaker 1: I'm sure the next time we're in that area, I
- 15:23Speaker 1: can hit them up and probably get a tour again.
- 15:25Speaker 1: But it is like everything you know, I've been to
- 15:29Speaker 1: a couple uh, either toy or like I went to
- 15:34Speaker 1: has or I went to Wizards in Seattle and like
- 15:37Speaker 1: tour the Magic the Gathering facility and like they're like, oh,
- 15:40Speaker 1: you know, it's not as exciting as you think, like
- 15:43Speaker 1: and like there's a lot of artwork and there's some
- 15:45Speaker 1: there's cool stuff to see, but like the I mean,
- 15:48Speaker 1: it's just kind of an office. The same with Jazzuars.
- 15:51Speaker 1: Like Jazzuars has some cool stuff, but it's it's an office.
- 15:54Speaker 4: Uh.
- 15:54Speaker 1: Neca is like everything you wanted to be. Like every
- 15:58Speaker 1: desk that they like are sculpting or painting just has
- 16:01Speaker 1: like hundreds of toys that they've also sculpted and painted
- 16:04Speaker 1: around them. They have an entire wall of like predator
- 16:10Speaker 1: figures that they've produced. There's there's so many, there's macats
- 16:14Speaker 1: of like every sculpture that they've done. Like it's it's
- 16:19Speaker 1: all the that you want out of like a you know,
- 16:21Speaker 1: a toy fan, and like you're like this is awesome,
- 16:23Speaker 1: that's great. Yeah, So it's like, uh, you know, kind
- 16:27Speaker 1: of like Willie Walker's chocolate factory for toys. I can't.
- 16:31Speaker 2: I'm pretty blown away that you've just listed all that
- 16:33Speaker 2: and it just kind of started this year. But it
- 16:35Speaker 2: is so fun.
- 16:36Speaker 1: Yeah. So between the neck of stuff, Ninja turtles spawned
- 16:42Speaker 1: that those are like my kind of like my main things,
- 16:44Speaker 1: I guess, and then like I like some of the
- 16:46Speaker 1: Storm stuff, and then obviously some some of the Marvel stuff,
- 16:49Speaker 1: Like I just got, like the new Mojo that came out.
- 16:54Speaker 1: If it's a cool looking toy, I usually pick it up.
- 16:56Speaker 2: Oh, I know that Mojo is awesome. That's set or
- 16:58Speaker 2: did just the single?
- 17:00Speaker 1: Uh? Just the single?
- 17:01Speaker 2: Okay?
- 17:02Speaker 1: Yeah. But the thing I don't like about the new
- 17:05Speaker 1: Legend stuff. And I understand it's like for the environment
- 17:07Speaker 1: and stuff, but I don't like that the package.
- 17:09Speaker 2: You hate it.
- 17:10Speaker 1: It's like like I said, you know, I like to
- 17:14Speaker 1: see a figure and it's yeah proper when.
- 17:19Speaker 2: You're hanging a box, it sucks. It sucks. Yeah with
- 17:22Speaker 2: the box with the picture of it.
- 17:24Speaker 1: Yeah, I want to see the thing posed. I want
- 17:26Speaker 1: to see all the accessories, like.
- 17:28Speaker 2: Yeah, there's got there's got to be a way that
- 17:30Speaker 2: you can use less plaux this plastic or or even
- 17:34Speaker 2: the slip off so that you can have a box
- 17:36Speaker 2: with nothing, no plastic underneath. There's there's got to be
- 17:38Speaker 2: a way. But the way the ones that they have
- 17:41Speaker 2: now that you it's just like a box that you
- 17:44Speaker 2: open and the figures wrapped in a piece of paper.
- 17:46Speaker 2: That's terrible. Yeah, But there are versions where you can
- 17:49Speaker 2: like kind of slip out the cover and it's a
- 17:52Speaker 2: bare figure there, and it's a little scary because some
- 17:55Speaker 2: kids touching it or something and somebody's spitting on it.
- 17:57Speaker 2: I don't know who knows, But there's got to be
- 18:00Speaker 2: a happy medium somewhere.
- 18:01Speaker 1: Yeah. And you know the thing about the neck of
- 18:04Speaker 1: stuff that I don't like is the window box boxes open.
- 18:10Speaker 2: You just talking about that.
- 18:11Speaker 1: So the packaging is amazing, it looks awesome, but displaying
- 18:17Speaker 1: it sucks because like when you open it through the window,
- 18:21Speaker 1: like you're like, yeah, I would want to display like this,
- 18:23Speaker 1: but you can't. So I don't know if there if
- 18:27Speaker 1: anybody has an alternative to this, please let me know,
- 18:29Speaker 1: because I love the neck of box, I love the artwork.
- 18:32Speaker 1: I love the way that the figure looks on card,
- 18:35Speaker 1: but you just it's just fucking closed.
- 18:39Speaker 2: Yeah, I think in with if you only have a few.
- 18:43Speaker 2: For example, I have a shelf with the Super Shredder
- 18:46Speaker 2: ye in the box opened. It's signed by Kevin ash
- 18:49Speaker 2: that's sick, and then keeping the box open is a
- 18:52Speaker 2: loose version of it. So it's kind of like a
- 18:54Speaker 2: super Shredder things.
- 18:56Speaker 1: That's not bad, it's one.
- 18:57Speaker 2: But if you were going to display a bunch, you're
- 18:59Speaker 2: you're losing space with the open box.
- 19:01Speaker 1: With the money buy and all the devils.
- 19:05Speaker 2: Okay, last thing before we get to the fan questions,
- 19:07Speaker 2: what no wrestling?
- 19:10Speaker 1: No, I don't like wrestling toys. Well, I have a
- 19:14Speaker 1: bunch of aw toys because I like to collect my friends.
- 19:20Speaker 1: But yeah, I just think wrestling toys are boring, so
- 19:25Speaker 1: my figure will not be boring.
- 19:26Speaker 2: Yeah, so you have do you have uh Malachi? Do
- 19:30Speaker 2: you have the Supreme?
- 19:31Speaker 1: I do have the Supreme? Dude.
- 19:34Speaker 2: That's like that goes right with your spawn figures straight up.
- 19:37Speaker 1: Yeah. And you know that's kind of what the House
- 19:41Speaker 1: of Black does. It's like we always have in mind,
- 19:44Speaker 1: like what's the toy going to look like? What are
- 19:45Speaker 1: the pictures going to look like? Like we have all
- 19:48Speaker 1: that in mind when we're designing our gear, designing our
- 19:51Speaker 1: pay per view stuff, like we want them to be like, oh,
- 19:54Speaker 1: this has to be a figure every time. We want
- 19:58Speaker 1: them to be overwhelmed with like what do we choose?
- 20:00Speaker 1: You know, because you know, I was talking to one
- 20:05Speaker 1: of the Jazz Wars guys and he said, it's frustrating
- 20:08Speaker 1: when uh, you know, a wrestler be like, hey, we're
- 20:11Speaker 1: like when am I getting another figure? And they're be
- 20:14Speaker 1: like you haven't changed your fucking gear and a year
- 20:16Speaker 1: and a half, Like why would we make another figure
- 20:18Speaker 1: of you? It's like, if you keep it fresh and
- 20:21Speaker 1: if you keep it interesting, it's like, you know, we
- 20:23Speaker 1: do the face paint every once in a while, we
- 20:25Speaker 1: do different gear every pay per view, then they always
- 20:28Speaker 1: have something to work with.
- 20:29Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 20:30Speaker 1: I have new tattoos every every figure, so it keeps
- 20:34Speaker 1: it keeps the customizers on their feet too.
- 20:37Speaker 2: Have you been talking to them at all about the
- 20:40Speaker 2: tattoo situation? Like did you take a bunch of detailed
- 20:43Speaker 2: picks or yeah?
- 20:44Speaker 1: So actually here I'm going to show you to get
- 20:48Speaker 1: your reaction from it. But the people on the podcast
- 20:51Speaker 1: are going to have to wait. But I have some
- 20:54Speaker 1: photos of my figure.
- 20:56Speaker 2: Oh holy shit, this is.
- 20:59Speaker 1: Just the three D render. Obviously this is.
- 21:05Speaker 2: Oh my god, holy shit with the with the tattoos.
- 21:09Speaker 2: That is you're probably the most expensive figure of all time.
- 21:12Speaker 1: Yeah. Between me and Malick, I were really keeping on
- 21:14Speaker 1: our feet and then this is this will be the
- 21:15Speaker 1: alternate head.
- 21:17Speaker 2: Oh that is so cool? Yeah wow uh And now
- 21:21Speaker 2: you did have an FTC, right.
- 21:22Speaker 1: I did have an FTC, which I maintained that I
- 21:26Speaker 1: have the best FTC.
- 21:27Speaker 2: Okay, Okay, I don't know. I've never even seen it.
- 21:29Speaker 1: It's it looks like me, it's got.
- 21:31Speaker 2: The ski mask on. No, no, did it come with
- 21:34Speaker 2: the ski mask?
- 21:35Speaker 1: No? That's that's my biggest grievance is that I was like, hey,
- 21:39Speaker 1: can you put a ski mask in there, whether it
- 21:42Speaker 1: be a softgoat or whatever, and they were like, no,
- 21:44Speaker 1: we can't do it. But why not? Like this is
- 21:46Speaker 1: a fucking bag on my head?
- 21:47Speaker 2: Basically, is that why you got the brawler with the
- 21:49Speaker 2: ski mask? Yes, that's what I was thinking.
- 21:51Speaker 1: Yeah, so my first brawler sucked. Okay, Ryan, I guess
- 21:56Speaker 1: at the time that he said that they didn't they
- 21:59Speaker 1: couldn't do tattoos. So it's just like a weird version
- 22:03Speaker 1: of me in a vest with no tattoos I see,
- 22:06Speaker 1: which is like.
- 22:07Speaker 2: I know they've tried to They've covered people up when
- 22:10Speaker 2: they can so that they can.
- 22:11Speaker 1: Yeah, that's why my new brawler is wearing a jacket.
- 22:14Speaker 1: So it's that's like my Ring of Honor gear Brawler.
- 22:20Speaker 1: Eventually he's gonna have to figure it out because we're
- 22:22Speaker 1: gonna have an aw one. But yeah, I mean the
- 22:25Speaker 1: new Broler looks awesome. It has my like front piece,
- 22:27Speaker 1: it has a ski mask, you know it it looks awesome.
- 22:31Speaker 1: It looks like me. Yeah, my FTC figure also looks
- 22:35Speaker 1: like me. I took really detailed photos of it and
- 22:39Speaker 1: then they made like stickers for all my tattoos and
- 22:42Speaker 1: it has everything. Yeah, it looks great. It has and
- 22:44Speaker 1: it's funny because you can see like my tattoo journey
- 22:48Speaker 1: through my figures, Like my FTC figure has my original
- 22:51Speaker 1: chess piece which I then covered up and it'll be
- 22:55Speaker 1: you know, my AW figure will have my new tattoos.
- 22:58Speaker 1: Cool and but my first AW figure it doesn't have
- 23:04Speaker 1: a head tattoo. It doesn't have a couple other tattoos
- 23:06Speaker 1: I've gotten since then, So it's like it's a constant progression.
- 23:09Speaker 2: Yeah, that's true. Wow, And uh, there's what about did
- 23:13Speaker 2: you do you get like, do you get your tattoo
- 23:16Speaker 2: artists to like sign away for that you can put
- 23:17Speaker 2: it on a figure.
- 23:18Speaker 1: It's not a real thing. So that happened one time
- 23:21Speaker 1: with like the Randy Orton person. Yes, I don't know
- 23:23Speaker 1: how the fuck that even happened.
- 23:25Speaker 2: Like I think it was more of the video game,
- 23:27Speaker 2: to be honest.
- 23:29Speaker 1: Still, it's like I don't understand, you know, I don't know.
- 23:35Speaker 1: I feel like that was just someone chasing a bag
- 23:37Speaker 1: and you know, by all means whatever, they got it.
- 23:41Speaker 1: But if my tattoo artists did that to me, I'd
- 23:44Speaker 1: kicked the shit out of them. Okay, okay, it's like
- 23:48Speaker 1: I paid you for this, you put it on my skin.
- 23:50Speaker 1: I own it. Now, what are you gonna do take
- 23:52Speaker 1: it back? I don't think so true. It's like it's
- 23:54Speaker 1: not like I have like a Pablo Picasso piece on
- 23:56Speaker 1: my leg, you know what I mean?
- 23:57Speaker 2: Yeah? So yeah, all right, I get it. All right,
- 24:00Speaker 2: let's get some let's go to the fan questions here.
- 24:03Speaker 1: If we want to talk. What I'm collecting now is
- 24:07Speaker 1: I'm trying to find carded toxic Crusader toys, which is
- 24:12Speaker 1: maybe the hardest thing in the world to find. Toxic Crusader, Yeah,
- 24:16Speaker 1: so made by Playmates. Who's the main guy, Toxy Toxic Crusader,
- 24:22Speaker 1: the Toxic Avenger?
- 24:23Speaker 2: Oh yes, okay, so the Toxic.
- 24:24Speaker 1: Crusaders was the cartoon in the in the nineties, made
- 24:27Speaker 1: by Playmates. They looked like Ninja Turtle toys. They're incredible.
- 24:31Speaker 1: I actually have toxic tattooed on my thigh. But I
- 24:34Speaker 1: used to be Toxic at San Diego Comic Con for
- 24:36Speaker 1: many years for the Trauma booth. So yeah, I'm trying
- 24:40Speaker 1: to find toxic toys on card. If anybody out there
- 24:44Speaker 1: to give.
- 24:45Speaker 2: Me some leads, all right, guys, reach out to them
- 24:47Speaker 2: on Twitter. Okay, there's a ton of questions. Holy crap.
- 24:54Speaker 2: Uh all right, well we can talk about this. Chris
- 24:57Speaker 2: Clagg says, favorite metal.
- 24:58Speaker 1: Band, favorite metal band, uh, Cannibal Corpse.
- 25:10Speaker 2: Probably I can't even help you with this conversation.
- 25:11Speaker 1: I don't really know obviously, like subgenres and you know whatever.
- 25:16Speaker 1: You know. I like Metallica, Slayer, Cannibal Corpse.
- 25:20Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, Well, if you haven't heard Cannibal Corpse, guys,
- 25:23Speaker 2: listen to it. Uh, Andrew husfar favorite horror movies of
- 25:28Speaker 2: all time?
- 25:29Speaker 1: Oh, man, Like, these are always questions that I get,
- 25:32Speaker 1: and they're they're like so hard to answer.
- 25:35Speaker 2: Yeah, very hard.
- 25:35Speaker 1: It's like not only are you putting me on the spot,
- 25:37Speaker 1: but then it's just like there's so many Yeah, there's
- 25:41Speaker 1: different genres, there's different eras, like, uh, you know, the
- 25:48Speaker 1: original it was always like a big one when I
- 25:51Speaker 1: was a kid. Pennywise, That Tim Curry Pennywise is terrifying. Yes, uh.
- 25:58Speaker 1: I like, you know, a lot of like the It
- 26:01Speaker 1: Follows Your Next, The Guest, A lot of those are
- 26:07Speaker 1: like modern favorites of mine. I also just like, you know,
- 26:14Speaker 1: I like all of the Jordan Peele movies. Yeah, I
- 26:19Speaker 1: thought Nope was really good. I know it was very polarizing,
- 26:21Speaker 1: but it's a really cool monster movie in my opinion.
- 26:26Speaker 1: I also like really good practical effects movies, like I
- 26:29Speaker 1: love Cronenberg movies, body horror movies, so you know, like
- 26:35Speaker 1: The Fly and all of those movies where it's just
- 26:42Speaker 1: like really crazy practical effects, really gross.
- 26:46Speaker 2: Did you ever talk to the Blade about this stuff?
- 26:49Speaker 1: He's yeah, we we we've had we've been in a
- 26:52Speaker 1: group chet for years and it's just always like, hey,
- 26:55Speaker 1: have you watched this new horror movie. It's like, oh, yeah,
- 26:57Speaker 1: it sucked. But it's like, for the most part, you know,
- 27:01Speaker 1: Blade has a pretty good grasp on yeah, on great
- 27:05Speaker 1: horror movies. But yeah, I like a lot of like
- 27:07Speaker 1: sci fi psychological horror.
- 27:10Speaker 2: I would say, did you watch The Last of Us yet?
- 27:13Speaker 1: I have not watched Last of Us, so I'm not
- 27:15Speaker 1: a big zombie person. I don't like zombie movies. I
- 27:18Speaker 1: think that they're boring. But the Last of Us, I know,
- 27:22Speaker 1: it is really popular, really awesome. I never played the games.
- 27:26Speaker 1: Too scary.
- 27:27Speaker 2: I can't do it. I jump it's too much.
- 27:30Speaker 1: But yeah, I think my wife wants to watch it,
- 27:35Speaker 1: so eventually we'll get into it.
- 27:36Speaker 2: I'm only two episodes in. It's really good. But the
- 27:40Speaker 2: father daughter stuff gets me at having a daughter.
- 27:42Speaker 1: That, yeah, that I feel like that is going to
- 27:44Speaker 1: also get me as well.
- 27:45Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, the first episode was very tough. Okay, this
- 27:51Speaker 2: is a good one. Matthew Gilson says, when the House
- 27:53Speaker 2: of Black goes to Vegas for double or nothing, which
- 27:55Speaker 2: house wins the casino or the House of Black.
- 27:58Speaker 1: Blake, Well, Malachi is not a gambler. Okay, buddy. Buddy
- 28:06Speaker 1: says he's a gambler, but he doesn't get as deep
- 28:08Speaker 1: as I do. Oh yeah, so I'm straight edge, which
- 28:13Speaker 1: means that I'm an addictive gambler. That's my vice in life.
- 28:17Speaker 2: Yeah, but.
- 28:20Speaker 1: Yeah, so it really just depends on what the swings
- 28:23Speaker 1: are that weekend. You know, I've been up fifteen grand,
- 28:26Speaker 1: I've been down five, So really just depends on how
- 28:31Speaker 1: the slot machines are paying that day.
- 28:34Speaker 2: I guess I spent the entire week there and I
- 28:36Speaker 2: didn't gamble literally once.
- 28:38Speaker 1: That is not even a testament of yourself. I couldn't.
- 28:43Speaker 1: I Like, if I know that there's a casino within
- 28:45Speaker 1: ten minutes of me, it is like I have to
- 28:48Speaker 1: change myself to the bed to not go.
- 28:51Speaker 2: All right, Yeah, that's funny. I was just so mad
- 28:53Speaker 2: that I had to pay thirty bucks for a water
- 28:56Speaker 2: Chris Wayne, Which wrestler, besides yourself has the best tattoos?
- 29:03Speaker 1: Probably Malachi? Yeah yeah, but I have better tattoos than him,
- 29:08Speaker 1: So I have the best tattoos in wrestling beside yourself.
- 29:15Speaker 2: All Right, we already talked about all right, how did
- 29:18Speaker 2: you become good friends with with our good buddy don
- 29:23Speaker 2: well my enemy don?
- 29:24Speaker 1: Oh your enemy, don my enemy don? Everyone's enemy done.
- 29:27Speaker 1: You know, so Dan Housen is he grew up going
- 29:34Speaker 1: to punk and hardcore shows, so that already kind of
- 29:37Speaker 1: gives us like common ground. I guess I met him
- 29:42Speaker 1: through Butcher. Actually, Butcher's known him for quite a while.
- 29:46Speaker 1: I think probably since he started wrestling, and I met
- 29:50Speaker 1: him in Buffalo, kind of kept up with him through there,
- 29:53Speaker 1: and then when he started coming around Rick of Honor,
- 29:55Speaker 1: that's when he was like starting to become more popular
- 29:58Speaker 1: and U we did a couple of bits together and
- 30:02Speaker 1: we just kind of, like, I don't know, our friendship
- 30:04Speaker 1: just kind of grew from there, and we, like to say,
- 30:07Speaker 1: music with like sig.
- 30:08Speaker 2: Stuff as you heard, very similar interests.
- 30:10Speaker 1: Yeah, same yeah, comics, toys.
- 30:13Speaker 2: Movies, similar business practices.
- 30:16Speaker 1: Yeah, he's a little more than you know.
- 30:18Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, but he blows me away with his uh
- 30:22Speaker 2: his business savvy it.
- 30:25Speaker 1: Did you see what he's doing last night?
- 30:26Speaker 2: Last night?
- 30:27Speaker 1: Now, he did a whole whatnot on at toy Vomit
- 30:32Speaker 1: where he was just putting his seal of approval stickers
- 30:36Speaker 1: on toys and signing them and selling them. I could
- 30:41Speaker 1: never like nobody would buy it from me, but from him.
- 30:46Speaker 1: His signature is basically gold.
- 30:48Speaker 2: Now it's unbelievable. Chris Stanley says, what's your first memory
- 30:56Speaker 2: of going to hardcore shows? He says, note, I just
- 31:01Speaker 2: got God's Hate self title on vinyl and it hasn't
- 31:03Speaker 2: left my record player. Can't wait to see God's Hate
- 31:05Speaker 2: live at some point.
- 31:06Speaker 1: Well, that's that's awesome. I appreciate that. Earliest memories of
- 31:12Speaker 1: going to hardcore shows. So I started going to hardcore
- 31:14Speaker 1: shows when I was like fifteen, sophomore, freshman or sophomore
- 31:19Speaker 1: in high school. It was exciting, it was dangerous, it
- 31:25Speaker 1: was I don't know. Going to a hardcore show is
- 31:28Speaker 1: much different than going to a you know, a concert
- 31:31Speaker 1: at like the Forum, right, you go to a shitty bar,
- 31:35Speaker 1: or you go to a restaurant, or you go to
- 31:37Speaker 1: a you know, sometimes they're in storage units. Like it
- 31:42Speaker 1: just depends on wherever you can get it. Like, there's
- 31:45Speaker 1: gonna be fights, there's gonna be maybe more than fights.
- 31:47Speaker 1: Maybe someone gets stabbed at the show. I don't know.
- 31:49Speaker 1: There's always this era of danger and like unknowing, you
- 31:54Speaker 1: have to be aware of your surroundings. You know, maybe
- 31:56Speaker 1: my hid hit by somebody, it's somebody might jump on
- 31:59Speaker 1: your head, but it's always like it's just a great
- 32:02Speaker 1: release of aggression of energy. Whatever you got going on
- 32:08Speaker 1: in life.
- 32:09Speaker 2: And being I guess maybe being a straight edge guy
- 32:12Speaker 2: or straight edge kid. The teenager that was kind of.
- 32:16Speaker 1: Your Yeah, so yeah, I mean like I didn't drink,
- 32:20Speaker 1: I didn't do drugs, but I that was just a
- 32:23Speaker 1: violent little shithead and I needed to get it out.
- 32:27Speaker 1: And you know, that was like a Ethan Page came
- 32:32Speaker 1: to a hardcore show. He came to a got A
- 32:34Speaker 1: show a couple of months ago, and he basically said
- 32:37Speaker 1: it perfectly. He said, it is a safe space to
- 32:40Speaker 1: do very unsafe things, and that is like the perfect
- 32:44Speaker 1: encapsulation of hardcore.
- 32:45Speaker 2: Music and also wrestling. You described wrestling. Yeah, what what
- 32:53Speaker 2: are some of your I guess, I mean, your whole
- 32:56Speaker 2: body's covered basically, Johnny J Beasis. What are some of
- 32:58Speaker 2: your inspirations for your tattoo pie h all over the place?
- 33:05Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean usually it's me just finding an artist
- 33:09Speaker 1: that I like and then just having them kind of
- 33:11Speaker 1: do whatever they want.
- 33:13Speaker 2: Now, the first piece, did you feel like that had
- 33:16Speaker 2: to when you got that? Did they have to be
- 33:18Speaker 2: something very special or so where you were just like,
- 33:20Speaker 2: I know I'm gonna get a million, so we'll just
- 33:22Speaker 2: start with this.
- 33:23Speaker 1: So I always knew I was gonna get a million,
- 33:25Speaker 1: but my parents were not excited about that. So my
- 33:29Speaker 1: first piece is on my is my ribs, full red piece.
- 33:34Speaker 1: It says mother and father on it. It's like they
- 33:36Speaker 1: can't be mad about this, right, So it's like I
- 33:39Speaker 1: come on with this and they're just like, oh my god,
- 33:40Speaker 1: it's beautiful. And my dad's like, yeah, it's all right.
- 33:43Speaker 1: And then my dad always said, you know, only only
- 33:45Speaker 1: bikers and prostitutes have tattoos. It's like, well look at
- 33:49Speaker 1: me now, pop. But you know, if I wasn't completely
- 33:53Speaker 1: covering tattoos, who knows where I'd be. Who knows if
- 33:56Speaker 1: I would be in the position I'm in today.
- 33:58Speaker 2: So true.
- 34:00Speaker 1: You know, Now now I'm able to take care of
- 34:02Speaker 1: my parents and make their life a whole lot easier.
- 34:05Speaker 1: So up your dad.
- 34:08Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I'm sure he's okay with it now.
- 34:11Speaker 1: Yeah, he's great with it now.
- 34:13Speaker 2: Ronnie Burke, who's your favorite Ninja Turtle?
- 34:15Speaker 1: Raphael? Hands down?
- 34:17Speaker 2: Yeah? He Raphael you know goes to hardcore shows.
- 34:19Speaker 1: Yoh yeah, when you like, when you read the like
- 34:22Speaker 1: the descriptions of the turtles, it's like me reading a
- 34:27Speaker 1: biography of myself. When it's like Raphael, it's just like stubborn,
- 34:30Speaker 1: hard headed, like wants to be the leader, but isn't like, uh,
- 34:35Speaker 1: focused enough to really be the leader. It's like Leonardo
- 34:39Speaker 1: has the patience and everything, but he doesn't have the
- 34:42Speaker 1: aggression in size and power that Raphael has.
- 34:45Speaker 2: So that's great.
- 34:47Speaker 1: Yeah, Raphael's a man.
- 34:48Speaker 2: That's same like Dona Tello. He's the nerd techie guy,
- 34:51Speaker 2: you know.
- 34:52Speaker 1: Yeah, witty, funny.
- 34:54Speaker 2: Max Caster says, ask him if he likes me? Please? No, okay,
- 34:59Speaker 2: all right, Bobby Meshling, was there thought of changing your
- 35:03Speaker 2: ring name in AW?
- 35:06Speaker 1: So? Yes, you know, obviously coming into AW, I knew
- 35:12Speaker 1: that the name Brodie Lee Brody in general has a
- 35:16Speaker 1: you know, high standing, and obviously with his passing, I
- 35:19Speaker 1: didn't want to be disrespectful, so I got permission from Amanda.
- 35:25Speaker 2: Oh really.
- 35:25Speaker 1: Yeah, And you know when I had brought this up
- 35:28Speaker 1: to when I was talking to Chris Harrington about it,
- 35:33Speaker 1: he's kind of, you know, our in between contract guy.
- 35:35Speaker 2: Yep.
- 35:37Speaker 1: Turns out that Chris Harrington was like Brodie Lee's best
- 35:40Speaker 1: friend for twenty years, and it was like in his
- 35:42Speaker 1: wedding and vice versa. Yep, and he's just like, you know,
- 35:45Speaker 1: as somebody that knew him for this amount of time.
- 35:48Speaker 1: I don't think that he would have he he actually said,
- 35:51Speaker 1: I think Brody would have thought it would be funny
- 35:54Speaker 1: if there was two Brody's in aw Sure, so you know,
- 35:58Speaker 1: getting those approvals.
- 36:02Speaker 2: It was fine, exactly, Yeah, absolutely? What about?
- 36:08Speaker 1: What about?
- 36:08Speaker 2: Johnny Espinoza says, your favorite venue to play?
- 36:15Speaker 1: Uh or go to?
- 36:16Speaker 2: I guess.
- 36:19Speaker 1: I don't know. That's that's kind of hard. It's like
- 36:22Speaker 1: it differs by city, Like you know, there's always gonna
- 36:27Speaker 1: be different venues in different cities that are just like
- 36:30Speaker 1: better than others. I would say the midnight hour and
- 36:33Speaker 1: in San Fernando Valley is like that's my home base.
- 36:36Speaker 2: Okay, and you you still live in California?
- 36:40Speaker 1: No, okay, don't tell anybody.
- 36:42Speaker 2: Yeah, you won't be able to find him anywhere in California.
- 36:44Speaker 2: Will Baltello says he we already know the answer to this.
- 36:47Speaker 2: Did you ever end up finding the quarter scale raphinges
- 36:50Speaker 2: Guy's Footsolder movie from the Ethan.
- 36:51Speaker 1: Bidwell guess there you go, just found my grail.
- 36:57Speaker 2: Okay, I saw a good one.
- 37:00Speaker 3: Uh.
- 37:03Speaker 2: Philip Claycomb says, favorite tag partner of all time and
- 37:07Speaker 2: why so did you ever tag with don.
- 37:19Speaker 1: No? Okay no, that was an idea though. I pitched
- 37:22Speaker 1: that idea and a Ring of Honor actually, So obviously
- 37:27Speaker 1: me and Malick I have great chemistry. We're great friends.
- 37:31Speaker 1: I feel like our in ring style meshes very well.
- 37:36Speaker 1: I love being a tag team partner. So he is
- 37:40Speaker 1: absolutely one of my favorites. My other favorite would be
- 37:42Speaker 1: Tyler Bateman. He is a California guy from Oklahoma. He
- 37:50Speaker 1: basically taught me how to wrestle, so you know, I
- 37:55Speaker 1: kind of borrowed a lot of stuff from him. Like
- 37:59Speaker 1: the barking that I do in the ring is because
- 38:01Speaker 1: of him. Uh, it's kind of an homage to him.
- 38:04Speaker 1: He worked for Ring of Honor for a little while.
- 38:08Speaker 2: Uh yeah, I was gonna say, but yeah.
- 38:10Speaker 1: Now he trains guys at Santino Brothers Wrestling Academy in California.
- 38:14Speaker 1: I think he is one of the best wrestlers on
- 38:17Speaker 1: the planet and he's a great friend of mine. So
- 38:22Speaker 1: there's like a weird like, you know, obviously, teaming with
- 38:25Speaker 1: him was like teaming with my trainers, So it's hard
- 38:28Speaker 1: not to say him. Yeah, but obviously Malachi is like
- 38:31Speaker 1: me and him just kind of like really gel well together.
- 38:34Speaker 2: Yeah. I think it's great. Powerhouse fast guy works works perfect.
- 38:42Speaker 2: Let's try to find one more to a couple more
- 38:44Speaker 2: to wrap this up. How often do you put Tyler Atkinson?
- 38:49Speaker 2: How often you put beard oil in?
- 38:51Speaker 1: Never?
- 38:51Speaker 2: I'm not a beard oil guy.
- 38:52Speaker 5: No.
- 38:53Speaker 1: I put palmade in my hair, and then I put
- 38:56Speaker 1: whatever's left on my hands in my beard, and then
- 38:58Speaker 1: I comb it down.
- 39:00Speaker 2: Actually I started doing that too. They put the hair
- 39:02Speaker 2: stuff and then just a quick yep thing and the
- 39:04Speaker 2: beard Robert tamborrough. I uh, I think I know the
- 39:09Speaker 2: story behind this, but I'm not sure. What other body
- 39:12Speaker 2: hair do you plan on selling and whatnot? Did you
- 39:15Speaker 2: sell your beard? Is that true?
- 39:16Speaker 1: Yeah? So I cut like a little lock of beard
- 39:19Speaker 1: like from my under beard off and sold on whatnot
- 39:21Speaker 1: and someone pay one hundred dollars for it? Did you?
- 39:23Speaker 2: Did you wrap it up in a little hair.
- 39:25Speaker 1: Ty Yeah, put a little bow on it, put a
- 39:27Speaker 1: little bag. Uh.
- 39:31Speaker 2: Which Benny Angel says, which homie toy is your favorite?
- 39:34Speaker 2: Did you continue with that, because you were going nuts
- 39:36Speaker 2: about the Homies and you get the Homie shirt.
- 39:39Speaker 1: I didn't get the Hoby shirt. Charlie got the Homies
- 39:41Speaker 1: Charlie did y Yeah. Uh, I don't know which one
- 39:44Speaker 1: is my favorite. I just like Ellie. Look, I used
- 39:46Speaker 1: to have a lot of the stickers. Actually I did
- 39:48Speaker 1: not continue with that, but if anybody wants to give
- 39:51Speaker 1: me some Homie toys, I would accept them with open arms.
- 39:56Speaker 2: Okay, all right, two more? Uh, Tom Darvin, when are
- 39:59Speaker 2: we going to get a house of black toy hunt?
- 40:02Speaker 2: I know Tom Malakai. He is a big collector. I'm
- 40:07Speaker 2: not sure what he collects.
- 40:08Speaker 1: Massive toy collector.
- 40:10Speaker 2: Massive he's got like I know, he's got like Pewter
- 40:13Speaker 2: statues and like, uh, he's pretty deep into it.
- 40:16Speaker 1: And he is a heavy Transformers collector and uh, fighting
- 40:23Speaker 1: toys like storm collectibles. He has all of them and
- 40:27Speaker 1: like multiples of all of them. He's like he's like
- 40:30Speaker 1: the person where you never you would never expect how
- 40:34Speaker 1: deep he can go with like comic books, video games, toys,
- 40:38Speaker 1: and he's just like he's the young Cracked Vault. If
- 40:42Speaker 1: you guys get him on the podcast or if you
- 40:43Speaker 1: think you can get him on a toy hunt. That's
- 40:46Speaker 1: you're gonna be pretty mind blown on the knowledgy he has.
- 40:50Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, we gotta do it. I don't think Buddy cares,
- 40:52Speaker 2: does he? But he doesn't collect it?
- 40:54Speaker 1: Yeah? I think he probably collects his own toys. I
- 40:57Speaker 1: don't know.
- 40:57Speaker 2: Okay, Yeah, he's got a couple kind of an elite
- 41:01Speaker 2: all right. Last one, this is cool. Christy's Wood says
- 41:03Speaker 2: who would win in a fight? RoboCop or T eight
- 41:05Speaker 2: hundred hundred? Is Arnold?
- 41:07Speaker 1: Right?
- 41:08Speaker 2: Is that technically?
- 41:09Speaker 1: Yes? Yes, Uh, I'm gonna go with T Hunter just
- 41:13Speaker 1: because RoboCop is a cop.
- 41:15Speaker 2: But I agree, you know, there's no question about it.
- 41:18Speaker 1: And he like Moove's like real more robotic. He doesn't
- 41:21Speaker 1: have the articulation of the T Hunter. Yes, yes, so yeah,
- 41:25Speaker 1: I'm going I'm going to hundred all day. Yeah me too?
- 41:27Speaker 2: All right? What what would you like to plug here?
- 41:31Speaker 2: How can people follow along on your your collecting journey
- 41:34Speaker 2: in my journey?
- 41:35Speaker 1: Uh? In my collecting journey? Uh, I don't know, maybe
- 41:39Speaker 1: I need I'm so I in the can I have
- 41:43Speaker 1: an unboxing show with my son and that that is
- 41:47Speaker 1: hopefully going to take form at some point here in
- 41:51Speaker 1: the near future, Uh, it'll be the Dante and Brody
- 41:55Speaker 1: Show and it'll just be me and my son unboxing toys,
- 41:58Speaker 1: and that will be a way to obviously go with
- 42:01Speaker 1: our journey. But you know, my I feel like my
- 42:04Speaker 1: journey in toys, uh is heavily influenced by my kids.
- 42:11Speaker 1: Like I just bought them the giant sized re released turtles,
- 42:16Speaker 1: and like he has a Raphael, my daughter has Leonardo.
- 42:21Speaker 1: They both love them. They sleep with them at night.
- 42:23Speaker 1: But like, you know, I bought him Castle, Gray Skull
- 42:26Speaker 1: and a bunch of like he Man figures. But he's
- 42:29Speaker 1: so funny and he's so like energetic, So I feel
- 42:32Speaker 1: like people will get a good kick out of this.
- 42:35Speaker 1: And also seeing you know, big bad, scary Brodie King
- 42:39Speaker 1: opening toys with his sun is a is a good
- 42:42Speaker 1: uh juxtaposition.
- 42:45Speaker 2: What about your social media?
- 42:46Speaker 1: What do you so Brodie x King on Twitter and Instagram?
- 42:50Speaker 1: I don't really use Facebook and uh whatnot, Brody x King.
- 42:54Speaker 1: I'm live every week, usually on Thursdays, Thursdays at eight usually.
- 42:59Speaker 2: At eight on whatnot?
- 43:00Speaker 1: I I if not Thursdays, then it's Sundays.
- 43:04Speaker 2: I'm gonna pop in this week yeah, because apparently a
- 43:06Speaker 2: raid thing.
- 43:07Speaker 1: Did you know that I did. I don't know how
- 43:09Speaker 1: to use it though.
- 43:10Speaker 2: So Donovan asked me to do it after our show
- 43:12Speaker 2: because he went right after us on Monday. I tried,
- 43:15Speaker 2: my damn this dude, I'm sitting there for like five
- 43:18Speaker 2: ten minutes with it live, trying to help me and
- 43:20Speaker 2: I just go, guys, just go.
- 43:22Speaker 1: Watch got to his channel. Yeah. I don't know how
- 43:25Speaker 1: this stuff works.
- 43:26Speaker 2: But you know, yeah, well I'll pop in love what Yeah,
- 43:31Speaker 2: me too. It's great. They're a great company. It's really fun.
- 43:33Speaker 2: It's kind of like an extra show for us. We're
- 43:35Speaker 2: shooting the ship. We're talking about collecting and it's a.
- 43:38Speaker 1: Great just a great way to meet your your fans
- 43:41Speaker 1: and like build a community from there.
- 43:44Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 43:45Speaker 1: It's like, you know, I get stoked when I'm doing
- 43:46Speaker 1: a meet and greet and someone goes, hey, I'm you
- 43:48Speaker 1: know at so and so on whatnot. I'm like, oh shit, yes, yes,
- 43:51Speaker 1: it's like a regular that like comes in Tooxs. He's
- 43:53Speaker 1: like putting a name to a face is always fun.
- 43:55Speaker 2: We have we have Rocking with Dan is his name,
- 43:58Speaker 2: and we always sing rocking with Dan, Rocking with Dan
- 44:01Speaker 2: and then he showed up to the live show with
- 44:03Speaker 2: a rocking with Dan hat On. We knew exactly a
- 44:07Speaker 2: yeah song. It was great. So all right, man, well
- 44:10Speaker 2: I appreciate you doing this. Uh, like I said, heavily requested.
- 44:13Speaker 1: Well, I appreciate you having me and I appreciate being requested.
- 44:17Speaker 2: And we're gonna take a right now. We're gonna take
- 44:18Speaker 2: a walk over to this building, I.
- 44:20Speaker 1: Believe and beautiful Lexington, Kentucky right.
- 44:23Speaker 2: Across the street. Bro, Pies and pints. I know you're

- 44:50Speaker 3: It's like Instagram Live meets eBay. It's uh, it's the
- 44:54Speaker 3: next big thing.
- 44:55Speaker 5: And I'm not talking about rock Listener definitely.
- 44:58Speaker 4: We will actually be on there every week six thirty
