- 0:08Speaker 1: Terrible Advice. Hello, welcome to the Naughty but Nice Show.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Happy Christmas. Joining us today as our friend Delana Dixon.
- 0:20Speaker 1: M d Are you there? I am, Good morning, Mr
- 0:23Speaker 1: Schooner Christmas. I had a lovely day with your family
- 0:28Speaker 1: technical issues earlier in the week. I know you wanted
- 0:31Speaker 1: to say Happy Christmas to everybody. So let's jump in
- 0:34Speaker 1: with a very very special show. Hey, what time is it,
- 0:38Speaker 1: miss do you So? What we're planning to do on
- 0:42Speaker 1: this show is go over some of the biggest stories
- 0:44Speaker 1: of the year. These are not just stories Delane and
- 0:47Speaker 1: I have picked. There are also stories that have done
- 0:50Speaker 1: very very well on Naughty Gossip on our podcast. So
- 0:52Speaker 1: let's jump in. One of the biggest stories of the
- 0:55Speaker 1: Remember we are a celebrity gossip show, so we crosses
- 0:58Speaker 1: over a little bit. This one certainly affected everybody is
- 1:01Speaker 1: the coronavirus. So, if you remember back to the beginning
- 1:05Speaker 1: of the year, mistery, nobody seemed that phased by the
- 1:08Speaker 1: coronavirus at all, And then suddenly Tom Hanks and Rita
- 1:12Speaker 1: Wilson announced they had tested positive in Australia. That was
- 1:17Speaker 1: in March. Then a ton of celebrities followed Idris Elba
- 1:21Speaker 1: Member and Co and Madonna, Pink, Colton Underwood The Bachelor.
- 1:25Speaker 1: We haven't found out in March that Prince Charles had
- 1:29Speaker 1: got the virus and was self isolating in Scotland. Since then,
- 1:33Speaker 1: we've all come a long way. I'm so happy now
- 1:36Speaker 1: that there is some hope. Vaccines do look like they're
- 1:40Speaker 1: working really well, and I starting to roll out what
- 1:43Speaker 1: a year this has been, Mistery, I know, and so
- 1:47Speaker 1: many celebrities as you know, Sharon Osborne just announced that
- 1:51Speaker 1: she had been suffering from a coronavirus and had to
- 1:53Speaker 1: be hospitalized. I'm so happy that so many people recovered,
- 1:57Speaker 1: but I just want to mention that we did lose
- 2:01Speaker 1: some people, and one of the biggest ones was Broadway
- 2:04Speaker 1: star Nick Cardero, you know, got contracted the virus very early,
- 2:09Speaker 1: battled it extremely hard, was hospitalized for months, and then
- 2:13Speaker 1: lost his battle in July. And he was only one
- 2:16Speaker 1: years old. He left a wife and a little baby.
- 2:19Speaker 1: So I just want to say that this disease, it's
- 2:21Speaker 1: been very, very challenging. It's been very difficult, and our
- 2:25Speaker 1: hearts go out to his wife right right, Over three
- 2:28Speaker 1: hundred thousand Americans have died of this disease. It's turned
- 2:32Speaker 1: our lives upside down. For me personally, it's been a
- 2:37Speaker 1: really tough year. Having the show each day has been
- 2:40Speaker 1: a little bit of a lifeline. At the beginning of
- 2:42Speaker 1: the year, when we couldn't go to the iHeart studios anymore,
- 2:46Speaker 1: there was talk about a stopping and I said, please,
- 2:48Speaker 1: is there any way we can set up a microphone
- 2:51Speaker 1: in our apartments and with the co hosts and still continue.
- 2:55Speaker 1: And at first it was a challenge, Misteve, but I
- 2:58Speaker 1: think we've all risen to it. The technology, thankfully has
- 3:01Speaker 1: been there to help us. I think this will be
- 3:03Speaker 1: the biggest story of the Well, if we're going back
- 3:09Speaker 1: and we're remembering what happened. You remember that horrible college scandal,
- 3:13Speaker 1: and we found out so many people were bribing schools
- 3:16Speaker 1: to get their kids in and celebrities were no different.
- 3:19Speaker 1: So Laurie Laughlin of Full House fame and her husband
- 3:23Speaker 1: mos Mo Gaelli finally met their fate because they had
- 3:27Speaker 1: actually worked with a middleman trying to get their two
- 3:30Speaker 1: daughters into decent colleges in California. So I'm May twenty two,
- 3:35Speaker 1: the couple formally pleaded guilty for their roles in this
- 3:38Speaker 1: massive college scam. Um and uh, Laurie actually spent two
- 3:43Speaker 1: months in jail. Her husband was given five months. Uh.
- 3:47Speaker 1: So this was a really big story that celebrities got
- 3:50Speaker 1: pulled into this college scandal. What do you think, Rob,
- 3:53Speaker 1: It was a wild story when I knew it was
- 3:55Speaker 1: going to be big because it really plays in any
- 3:57Speaker 1: highlights rich people, people who are famous getting the way
- 4:01Speaker 1: with stuff. It's playing the system. And I think that's
- 4:03Speaker 1: why it made so many people so angry. They already
- 4:07Speaker 1: have so so much. They have so so much, and
- 4:10Speaker 1: they need to keep having more and more and more.
- 4:13Speaker 1: It is not fair. And I think this is a
- 4:15Speaker 1: perfect example why people get very very angry with celebrities
- 4:18Speaker 1: and Hollywood out there. Another massive story of the year.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Harry and Megan are now common folks. That's right. There
- 4:27Speaker 1: were shock waves around the world when Harry and the
- 4:30Speaker 1: Duchess decided to step back from the royal family. They
- 4:33Speaker 1: did that in January that they stepped back from their
- 4:36Speaker 1: senior roles of members of the royal family and worked
- 4:40Speaker 1: to become financially independent. April one was the official mixit
- 4:45Speaker 1: date when they broke their ties. Then they moved into
- 4:49Speaker 1: Tyler Perry's house, remember that mystery he lent them. Now
- 4:53Speaker 1: they have their own fourteen million dollar home in l A.
- 4:57Speaker 1: He had to step back to from his army career
- 5:00Speaker 1: and all his military appointments, which they said was very, very,
- 5:04Speaker 1: very painful for Harry. Also to they agreed not to
- 5:08Speaker 1: use their royal titles. He's her Royal Highnesses, so they
- 5:11Speaker 1: still have them, they just won't use them anymore. But
- 5:15Speaker 1: the future looks pretty good for them, misdoo. They've signed
- 5:18Speaker 1: two massive deals, one with Netflix one with Spotify. Do
- 5:22Speaker 1: you think next year is going to be a big
- 5:23Speaker 1: year for Harry and Megan? Would you think we'll get
- 5:25Speaker 1: over them? Oh? No, we will never give over Prince
- 5:28Speaker 1: Harry and Megan. And now that they're here in America,
- 5:31Speaker 1: and Harry has been hinting that he plans to become
- 5:33Speaker 1: an American citizen or at least get dual citizenship, we're
- 5:37Speaker 1: going to be all over that. Unfortunately, we probably will
- 5:41Speaker 1: not see them in their own reality show. They're not
- 5:44Speaker 1: going over to Netflix to do a version their version
- 5:48Speaker 1: of Keeping Up with the with the Sussssects. It's just
- 5:52Speaker 1: not going to happen. But it's been really interesting. You know.
- 5:56Speaker 1: One of the reasons that they left is because they
- 5:58Speaker 1: said they were under such screw me from the European press,
- 6:02Speaker 1: and it was really it wasn't the nicest press. Um.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Megan actually did an interview where she's she's an actress,
- 6:09Speaker 1: she knows about scrutiny, so they laughed. Um. But they're
- 6:12Speaker 1: here and we're so happy to have them, and I
- 6:14Speaker 1: can't wait to see what they bring to Netflix. People
- 6:16Speaker 1: have really strong opinions about Megan love or hater. I
- 6:20Speaker 1: think what she wasn't prepared for is the amount of
- 6:23Speaker 1: celebrity marrying into that family brings to you. Yes, she
- 6:28Speaker 1: was an actress, Yes she had walked red carpets. She's
- 6:31Speaker 1: arguably mad one of the most famous people in the world,
- 6:34Speaker 1: and that's a lot of pressure. So hopefully a little
- 6:36Speaker 1: bit of privacy, a little bit of stepping out of
- 6:39Speaker 1: the spotlight might do her good. Hey, we're sending you best.
- 6:43Speaker 1: What else is one of the biggest stories, mister you Well,
- 6:45Speaker 1: this was definitely a huge story. So if you remember,
- 6:49Speaker 1: on May, a black man named George Floyd changed the country.
- 6:54Speaker 1: George died after a white police officer penned him to
- 6:58Speaker 1: the ground, by kneeling on his neck. Now, many celebrities
- 7:02Speaker 1: were just so incredibly moved by this. So for weeks,
- 7:06Speaker 1: celebrities like Jamie Fox and Ben Affleck, Kristin Stewart and
- 7:11Speaker 1: they participated in the many peaceful protests that took place
- 7:15Speaker 1: across the country, begging demanding change. Now, several celebrities such
- 7:21Speaker 1: as Christie Tiagan, Seth Rogan Drake and more offered money
- 7:26Speaker 1: to help pay for people who are arrested for protesting,
- 7:29Speaker 1: and Jay Z took out a full page ad in
- 7:31Speaker 1: newspapers across the country dedicated to George. So this was
- 7:36Speaker 1: really one of the biggest stories. There's still so much
- 7:39Speaker 1: racial injustice in America, and many celebrities took the time
- 7:42Speaker 1: to say no more. We need to appreciate, we need
- 7:45Speaker 1: to be kinder to everyone and to ourselves. It was
- 7:49Speaker 1: certainly a massive story and a story that profoundly changed me.
- 7:54Speaker 1: I did not understand what Black lives matter really meant
- 7:59Speaker 1: until people like you, mistery, celebrities like Jamie Fox, Ben
- 8:02Speaker 1: Affleck really helped me understand it. All lives cannot matter
- 8:07Speaker 1: until black lives matter. It's not special attention, it's not
- 8:12Speaker 1: giving something away it's inclusive and I think it has
- 8:17Speaker 1: changed the world. I hope. So. Another very dramatic story
- 8:23Speaker 1: was the Bachelorrette to this year mry So. Claire Crawley
- 8:26Speaker 1: was the Bachelorette and probably she'll go down in history
- 8:29Speaker 1: now as the woman that quote blew the whole show up.
- 8:32Speaker 1: She was the oldest lady to ever ever be the bachelorette.
- 8:36Speaker 1: She started the season, however, the season ended with a
- 8:39Speaker 1: different woman. Claire found love very very quickly with Dale Mars,
- 8:43Speaker 1: who you've met MD, and in the early stages of
- 8:47Speaker 1: the show, she decided to call it quits. She found
- 8:49Speaker 1: the guy she wanted. She didn't want to go through
- 8:51Speaker 1: the motions. She's not going to hang out for six
- 8:53Speaker 1: weeks pretending to like anybody else. She made a pol
- 8:56Speaker 1: decision and off she went. So they brought in a
- 8:58Speaker 1: new lady. I think it ultimately worked out rather well.
- 9:03Speaker 1: It's tricky because also to the coronavirus meant the show
- 9:07Speaker 1: could not travel around the world, so it was much
- 9:10Speaker 1: more contained. I think under the circumstances, Missy, they did
- 9:13Speaker 1: a pretty good job. I enjoyed it. Where are you Yeah?
- 9:16Speaker 1: I think so. I actually watched to see how Claire
- 9:19Speaker 1: left the show right in the middle. I mean she
- 9:21Speaker 1: met Dale as I've as we've mentioned, I have met Dale.
- 9:25Speaker 1: He's extremely charming. There's nothing fake about this guy. He's
- 9:29Speaker 1: just beautiful from head to toe, inside and out. So
- 9:32Speaker 1: I can totally understand why she fell for him, and
- 9:35Speaker 1: I think tectatious season. It was messy and fun and
- 9:39Speaker 1: that's what you need. We needed a little escape, even
- 9:42Speaker 1: if we couldn't leave the compound where they shot the show,
- 9:45Speaker 1: and she definitely brought it. So, you know, they found
- 9:47Speaker 1: an interesting twist in the middle of a pandemic and
- 9:50Speaker 1: then gave us a little messy, messy drama. He was messy,
- 9:54Speaker 1: but it does make good reality TV. And then talking
- 9:57Speaker 1: about reality TV, Missy and of an Era, Oh my goodness,
- 10:02Speaker 1: I can't believe it when we all woke up that
- 10:04Speaker 1: morning in September and we found out the Kondashians were
- 10:08Speaker 1: ending their show. We're talking after fourteen years and twenty
- 10:13Speaker 1: seasons of keeping up with the Kardashians on e they
- 10:17Speaker 1: said next year will be our last, and I know
- 10:20Speaker 1: people were crying, how are we going to get our
- 10:22Speaker 1: Kardashian fixed on the regular? Oh? These ladies, they are
- 10:27Speaker 1: one smart bunch. So in December they sent out a
- 10:30Speaker 1: little social media All it said was Hulu, and what
- 10:33Speaker 1: we would find out is that they actually have a
- 10:36Speaker 1: multi year production deal with Hulu worth more than a
- 10:42Speaker 1: hundred and fifty million dollars. So those ladies, Yes, they're
- 10:45Speaker 1: leaving me, but they're not leaving us. They're coming to
- 10:48Speaker 1: Hulu in latee get ready. I know we love to
- 10:52Speaker 1: hate them, but secretly I love to love them. I
- 10:55Speaker 1: really do. They're so outrageous and naughty. They've gone a
- 10:58Speaker 1: little bit boring for a minute or two, but now
- 11:01Speaker 1: I think I'm excited about this Hulu deal. I'm not
- 11:04Speaker 1: sure they alone will make me sign up. I've got
- 11:07Speaker 1: so many subscriptions at the moment, but I do admit,
- 11:10Speaker 1: missd I know it's naughty that I'm happy they are
- 11:14Speaker 1: coming back in the world just the same. After forty
- 11:17Speaker 1: years of these annoying Kardashians, I think I think I
- 11:22Speaker 1: would miss them too much. So welcome back. Hey, don't
- 11:25Speaker 1: miss us, because we're going to take a quick break.
- 11:27Speaker 1: But like the Kardashians, we will be right back. Welcome
- 11:32Speaker 1: back to the Naughty but Nice Show. I'm your host,
- 11:35Speaker 1: Rob Shooter. It's a special, special, special Christmas Day episode,
- 11:39Speaker 1: and joining us is our friend Delena Dixon, Miss d
- 11:43Speaker 1: back Shooter. I couldn't miss you for this very special
- 11:47Speaker 1: Christmas show. Of course you're here. We had to have you.
- 11:50Speaker 1: So we're not We're not going to do our pole
- 11:52Speaker 1: results today because it's a special show. We're going to
- 11:55Speaker 1: jump right into the naughtiest of the day. We've actually
- 11:58Speaker 1: flipped these around because I wanted to end the show
- 12:00Speaker 1: on the nicest. I didn't want to end the show
- 12:02Speaker 1: on the naughtiest, not at Christmas show, so I'll do
- 12:05Speaker 1: the naughtiest of the day first. Naughty, Naughty, naughty, and naughtier.
- 12:09Speaker 1: Story of the year is Ellen DeGeneres, who championed being
- 12:14Speaker 1: kind on her talk show for a very long time.
- 12:16Speaker 1: Her brand was kindness, and then that was called into
- 12:20Speaker 1: question over the summer. Around August, there was claims by
- 12:25Speaker 1: members of her staff, former members of her team, that
- 12:28Speaker 1: she ran a toxic work environment. Three members of the team,
- 12:33Speaker 1: executive producers big bosses, ended up getting fired and Ellen
- 12:37Speaker 1: addressed this on camera, promise to do better, and at
- 12:40Speaker 1: first her ratings took a little bit of a dip,
- 12:42Speaker 1: but now they are back up. However, that wasn't the
- 12:45Speaker 1: end of Ellen's troubles. She just announced in December that
- 12:49Speaker 1: she has been diagnosed positive with COVID. Nineteens that have
- 12:53Speaker 1: canceled the show until the new year. I think it's
- 12:56Speaker 1: going to be a new day at Ellen. I hopefully,
- 12:58Speaker 1: I hope it is MISDID. This was a huge story,
- 13:01Speaker 1: wasn't it. It absolutely was, And at first we didn't
- 13:04Speaker 1: hear much from Ellen. I think she was taking it
- 13:06Speaker 1: all in, but we did hear that there had been
- 13:09Speaker 1: a memo passed around kind of privately. Of course we
- 13:11Speaker 1: got a copy of it that she said, my name
- 13:13Speaker 1: is on the show, so ultimately I have to take responsibility.
- 13:16Speaker 1: And one great thing that came out of this show
- 13:18Speaker 1: is that her sidekick, her DJ Stephen twitch boss, and
- 13:22Speaker 1: we all loved when we used to watch him on
- 13:24Speaker 1: so you think you can dance? Way back when it
- 13:27Speaker 1: was actually promoted to co executive producer, So she was
- 13:30Speaker 1: really trying to stand behind that. She was making changes
- 13:33Speaker 1: and bringing diversity behind the scenes as well as in
- 13:37Speaker 1: front of the camera. So I applaud her for that
- 13:39Speaker 1: and Ellen get better. I know this COVID it just
- 13:42Speaker 1: goes everywhere, I know get better. It is interesting here.
- 13:47Speaker 1: What happened at that show was awful. Nobody's defending that.
- 13:49Speaker 1: But what we all have a choice in our lives
- 13:52Speaker 1: is when something goes wrong, to fix it we do.
- 13:55Speaker 1: Now we have to say sorry, we have to acknowledge
- 13:57Speaker 1: the problem, and then we have to fix it. And
- 13:59Speaker 1: I think Ellen did a very very good job at that.
- 14:02Speaker 1: I'm told backstage at the show things are much much happier.
- 14:06Speaker 1: Ellen now knows the spotlight of the world is not
- 14:10Speaker 1: just on her show, but it's on her backstage area
- 14:12Speaker 1: as well, And I think I hope that kindness is
- 14:16Speaker 1: going to rule the day. Mister, who's the nicest of
- 14:21Speaker 1: the day, Well, our nicest of the day is the
- 14:24Speaker 1: biggest reunion of the year. Yes, that is a Brad
- 14:28Speaker 1: Pitt and Jennifer Aniston. They were actually photographed together. Now,
- 14:33Speaker 1: I gotta take you back to January nine, when Brad
- 14:37Speaker 1: won his award for his work and once upon a
- 14:39Speaker 1: time in Hollywood. The cameras actually cut to jen and
- 14:43Speaker 1: this was at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, who smiled
- 14:47Speaker 1: and clapped for him. But it wasn't over because Brad
- 14:50Speaker 1: was actually backstage when Jen won her award for her
- 14:53Speaker 1: performance in the Morning Show, and he said wow, very excitedly.
- 14:58Speaker 1: He then smiled the ear to ear while watching her
- 15:01Speaker 1: on the monitor. When told of Brad's reaction, Jen said, ah,
- 15:06Speaker 1: that's sweet. And these two, that was the only little
- 15:10Speaker 1: reunion they gave us. They actually did a reading together
- 15:13Speaker 1: of The Fast Times at Ridgemont High and they read
- 15:16Speaker 1: a sexy scene from the movie together. So rab the
- 15:18Speaker 1: question is are Jen and Brad getting back together in
- 15:22Speaker 1: one let it be? So they're not getting back together.
- 15:27Speaker 1: They're friends. They talk occasionally. I hit the phones. I
- 15:32Speaker 1: spoke to all my sources around this couple, and they
- 15:34Speaker 1: said they have really really deep love and respectable one another,
- 15:39Speaker 1: but it's almost like brother and sister. Now. It's not sexual.
- 15:43Speaker 1: They are not getting back together, and I think this
- 15:47Speaker 1: is a good thing. And that moment of them being together,
- 15:50Speaker 1: that photograph we saw of them backstage, it went around
- 15:53Speaker 1: the world, and I think it gave us all a
- 15:56Speaker 1: little bit of closure. We hadn't seen them together since
- 16:00Speaker 1: he left her for Angelina Jolie. They were part of Hollywood,
- 16:03Speaker 1: but they avoided each other like the plague. This was
- 16:06Speaker 1: the first photograph and to see them both smiling. I
- 16:09Speaker 1: think it made the whole world smile too, Misty. And
- 16:13Speaker 1: now if they can be friends, I think we can
- 16:16Speaker 1: respect it. Do you agree? No, not at all. I
- 16:20Speaker 1: want them back together. I want them to get married.
- 16:22Speaker 1: They're both single. Now they can slip a little ring
- 16:26Speaker 1: on her finger, they can do a very private ceremony.
- 16:29Speaker 1: I think they are so. I was always team jen.
- 16:32Speaker 1: I know, I'm sorry Angelina fans, but I just loved
- 16:35Speaker 1: him with Jennifer Aniston. So I want them to get
- 16:38Speaker 1: back together and live out their old aid together and
- 16:41Speaker 1: just be like, yeah, we always knew we'd get back together.
- 16:43Speaker 1: It was just a question of when they are single.
- 16:46Speaker 1: Dare I say, Misty, maybe it's you that wants to
- 16:49Speaker 1: get back with one of your ex is. Maybe it's
- 16:53Speaker 1: a little projection. Here is this somebody password not gonna
- 16:57Speaker 1: say any more. Christmas Show And now it's time for
- 17:02Speaker 1: a moment of rob. You get at today. Nobody gets
- 17:07Speaker 1: a rob. We all get a you. This show is
- 17:10Speaker 1: about you. I have no fancy remarks here. I have
- 17:13Speaker 1: no quotes from Princess Diana or celebrities. I have no
- 17:17Speaker 1: really really deep phrases. I just wanted to talk about you.
- 17:21Speaker 1: The reason the show is a hit is because you
- 17:24Speaker 1: listen to it. You've told your friends, you've left a reviewer.
- 17:28Speaker 1: The show is doing it extraordinary. Well it's been less
- 17:30Speaker 1: than a year. We're in the top ten on Apple's chart.
- 17:34Speaker 1: I can't believe it. And it's all because of you.
- 17:38Speaker 1: It's the greatest gift I've ever received in my life,
- 17:42Speaker 1: the joy I get doing this show five days a week. Yes,
- 17:46Speaker 1: bringing you the celebrity gossip. We're really good at it.
- 17:49Speaker 1: Some exclusives, Oh, yes, we're very good at those two.
- 17:52Speaker 1: It's nothing. What this show is really about is not celebrities.
- 17:56Speaker 1: It's about you and the friendship that we've created. What
- 18:01Speaker 1: do you think, mister, Oh, it's an absolute truth. I
- 18:05Speaker 1: was reading through the comments on your website yesterday or
- 18:09Speaker 1: your Facebook page, and one one of your one of
- 18:12Speaker 1: your lovely people, Jennifer, she suggested that I start my
- 18:15Speaker 1: own makeup show. She actually said she had a dream
- 18:18Speaker 1: about me. So it's really interesting. I love interacting with you.
- 18:21Speaker 1: As you know, I left my home, I left New
- 18:23Speaker 1: York City. I've been down in Georgia this entire year,
- 18:27Speaker 1: and this has really kept me connected to everyone. Just
- 18:30Speaker 1: reading all your comments. So thank you, Mr Shooter. You've
- 18:33Speaker 1: given me a great gift by allowing me to do
- 18:35Speaker 1: the show with you once a week. I love it,
