- 0:14royalty. Adam Cox.
- 0:16These recordings took place live from Adam's clinic in London's
- 0:19world famous Harley Street. This podcast features powerful
- 0:23hypnosis, so do not listen while driving or operating machinery.
- 0:27This recording is not suitable for those with epilepsy or
- 0:30severe mental health issues, so get yourself comfortable and
- 0:34enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:41Hi, it's Adam here. And in this hypnosis session,
- 0:44you're going to be listening to a pain reduction hypnosis
- 0:49session that actually uses a phenomenon called synesthesia as
- 0:55a key way to dilute and change certain sensations.
- 1:01Synesthesia is where you link one sensory modality to
- 1:06something else. So sometimes you will get
- 1:09musicians that can see sounds or hear colours, and that's an
- 1:15example of synesthesia. Some of the best memory experts
- 1:20that use mnemonics, they can recall everything that happens
- 1:24on any particular day and they use unconsciously synesthesia to
- 1:30give associations that enable them to map across modalities.
- 1:36So there's lots of evidence that synesthesia is exceptional in
- 1:41certain people, but almost everyone has it to some level.
- 1:45Most people, for example, if they're using sub vocalization
- 1:49to read if something's bold and in capitals, they tend to make
- 1:53it louder in their internal representation of that sound,
- 1:57almost like someone shouting. And if it's kind of almost small
- 2:01in lower case, it might sound quieter.
- 2:05So these things exist in all of us, but we can actually harness
- 2:10them to create change. And what this session does it it
- 2:15was very specifically calibrated to the individual.
- 2:18So this client, for example, felt that a texture that would
- 2:21be soothing would be soft, wet sand, and a sound that would be
- 2:25soothing would be lapping waves, but also a seagull.
- 2:29And that's quite unique because a lot of people would find a
- 2:32seagull sound to be quite an aggressive sound, but this
- 2:35client found it a soothing sound.
- 2:37So this kind of stuff is ideally done closely calibrated to
- 2:42certain things. This client felt that
- 2:45blue-green, aquamarine would be a very healing colour.
- 2:51A lot of the sessions that I do use the suggestion of healing
- 2:54white light. So you know, almost the dominant
- 2:57healing colour is white or you know, almost like a a pastel
- 3:02yellow. But this particular client found
- 3:04that it was Blues, Blues and greens.
- 3:06So there's lots going on in this session that were calibrated to
- 3:10the individual. So obviously it was designed to
- 3:12benefit them. But I would say it could benefit
- 3:16you because all of the suggestions are based on dialing
- 3:19down pain and increasing the ability to heal and restore.
- 3:25So if you are experiencing either current chronic pain
- 3:29where you're about to do something, maybe you're having
- 3:33dentist work or you're having as this client was physical therapy
- 3:38and you're worried that you might experience pain in that
- 3:39session. This will also help for that.
- 3:43But it will help much better if it's calibrated to colours that
- 3:47you associate with healing and soothing and calming and
- 3:51diluting. And all the words were very
- 3:53carefully chosen because they resonated with this particular
- 3:57client. So if you like the idea of
- 4:00working with me to help reduce pain entirely calibrated and and
- 4:05customized and bespoke for you, There will be a link in the
- 4:08description where you can schedule that free consultation
- 4:11call and we can have a chat about how we can make that
- 4:14happen. There's also lots of free things
- 4:17in there, free downloads, free courses.
- 4:19So if you're curious, check out the description and have a look
- 4:22at those. But right now, I would encourage
- 4:25you to listen to this. And it's not just a pain
- 4:28reduction session, it's also a pain reduction session that
- 4:32drifts into a sleep hypnosis session.
- 4:35The final suggestions are to drift into a healing,
- 4:39restorative sleep. So whether you want this for
- 4:42sleep or for pain, or a combination of both, find a
- 4:45quiet, comfortable place, perhaps, ideally your bed, Relax
- 4:50and enjoy the session. Take a deep breath in and as you
- 6:04breathe in, breathe in that resourceful feeling of calm and
- 6:09relaxation. And as you exhale, just allow
- 6:13your eyelids to close. And as your eyelids close, feel
- 6:20a sense of connection. Connection with yourself, your
- 6:26breath, but also the sound of my voice.
- 6:31That's it. Breathing in, relaxation,
- 6:36exhaling tension and just giving yourself permission to let go.
- 6:43To let go of any sensations, any thoughts, beliefs or worries
- 6:48that reduce the quality of your life and welcome those thoughts,
- 6:54feelings and ideas, then enhance it.
- 7:00And as you lie back now with your eyes closed, I'd like you
- 7:04to use the power of your imagination to imagine yourself
- 7:11at a place where you feel calm and connected.
- 7:16Perhaps on the porch, at home, gazing out at trees.
- 7:23And maybe there's the occasional soft rustle of the leaves when
- 7:27there's a breeze, or the sound of birdsong, even certain scents
- 7:36that come from certain flowers, or the warmth of the sun on your
- 7:42skin. And I want you to notice that
- 7:46you feel safe here. You feel protected here,
- 7:53supported and surrounded by calm and beneath the shade of the
- 8:02soft trees or the porch. Just imagine that very gentle
- 8:10breeze with a combination of a sensation on your skin but a
- 8:16certain scent connected to either a tree or a flower or
- 8:22something else. And I want you to get a sense
- 8:26it's the kind of breeze that seems to carry comfort with it.
- 8:32And in this moment, just begin to notice the weight of your
- 8:37body, the weight of your arms, your legs, and notice how it
- 8:43settles into stillness, almost like soft wet sand gently
- 8:51shaping to your form. I want you to think of those
- 8:58times that you've used a memory pillow, or perhaps one of those
- 9:05mattresses that change shape to mould.
- 9:09Just imagine that you are lying in a chair with that sensation
- 9:16of soft wet sand supporting you but matching your shape, and
- 9:28there is nowhere to go and nothing to do.
- 9:32Only this moment and your breath and every time you breathe out
- 9:39feel like you're letting go. And with every breath in,
- 9:45imagine yourself sinking deeper into calm.
- 9:51That's it. And because this is your
- 9:54imagination, we get to change things.
- 9:58Allow your physical body to stay in that chair, almost made of
- 10:05soft, wet sand. Keep your physical conscious
- 10:10body there. And allow your imagination to
- 10:12float to a massage table under a gazebo in your garden, still
- 10:19hearing the bird song. And I want you to get a sense
- 10:23that you feel relaxed on this table.
- 10:32And maybe you can imagine what it would feel like if there was
- 10:37a sky blue blanket weighted over your body before any physical
- 10:44therapy takes place, just to relax and comfort and soothe.
- 10:53And I want you to imagine that these cozy sky blue blankets
- 10:58with warmth and weight seem to melt away any tension, any
- 11:05stress, any rigidity. Just enable it to take you
- 11:12deeper and deeper. Relaxed.
- 11:15That's it, and the air is just the right temperature.
- 11:21And again, because this is your imagination, I'd like you to
- 11:25imagine beyond the border of your garden is the ocean.
- 11:33And I'd like you to imagine waves lapping at the shore and
- 11:38the occasional seagull squawking, all taking you into a
- 11:44wonderful place of ever increasing relaxation.
- 11:52And as the breeze dances through the leaves of the trees, I
- 11:59wonder if you could imagine an orchestra there in your garden,
- 12:07see the conductor, and in fact see an entire Symphony.
- 12:19I want you to see all of the musicians lined up, looking
- 12:26elegant and starting to play soft orchestral tones, slow and
- 12:36peaceful like the beginning of a sunrise.
- 12:41And I want you to imagine what it would feel like if there was
- 12:46a giant lamp over your garden, emitting the very colours of an
- 12:55early morning sunrise. Warm pinks, gentle yellows,
- 13:01hints of orange. And just imagine this is coming
- 13:09at every angle. You are not in the shade of the
- 13:13gazebo. I want you to imagine that from
- 13:17every sound and every location, light is emitting with the very
- 13:25colour of an early morning sunrise.
- 13:31And this colour and light dances across your skin and your body
- 13:36like a cleansing light. And just imagine that the power
- 13:41of this light has the ability to soothe, melt and dissolve any
- 13:50pain, rigidity, tension, stress, any preoccupation or worries.
- 13:57All of that melts away under the light of this soothing sunrise
- 14:05light. And in particular, focus on any
- 14:11parts of your body experiencing pain or could experience pain,
- 14:17that the moment the light touches that part of your body,
- 14:22pain no longer exists, only sensations.
- 14:29I want you to get a sense that something around that part of
- 14:33your body is beginning to melt. And if there's any discomfort
- 14:38there, you don't have to fight it.
- 14:41You simply allow it to be there, knowing that you are safe.
- 14:49And as you focus on that area, now the specific area begin to
- 14:55notice its qualities. And maybe there's a colour to
- 15:00it, a shape, a texture, a sound. But whatever the shape, the
- 15:07sound or even the colour is that represents unwanted sensations,
- 15:12I want you to feel that you have the ability to change them.
- 15:18So whatever it is, just notice it.
- 15:21No need to brace and no need to judge, but just decide that
- 15:26whatever it is can be changed. And I want you to imagine
- 15:30experiencing some kind of physical therapy where it could
- 15:35lead to those sensations. And as the sensations come,
- 15:41allow yourself to think of them in terms of colours and textures
- 15:47and shapes and motions, and then allow yourself to imagine
- 15:53changing it. If the colour red or black comes
- 15:58up, just imagine changing it, shifting it, evolving it into a
- 16:07blue-green Aqua, a marine, or a soft calming sky blue.
- 16:14And if it feels jagged or sharp, imagine it like an icicle
- 16:20melting away, or like a pointed wax object melting beneath the
- 16:28sun, softening, dripping, flowing away.
- 16:33And if it has a sound, maybe like a screech, you get to
- 16:40either turn the volume down or replace it with the sound of
- 16:44lapping waves and the occasional seagull or a bird singing just
- 16:50for you. Because if you imagine birdsong
- 16:54from that same location, pain becomes more difficult to access
- 17:00and the sensations become more and more manageable.
- 17:05And if it has a rhythm or tension, let it dissolve into
- 17:09the sound of a cello, or perhaps a harp or a piano, maybe the
- 17:18peaceful drifting of strings, a lullaby in orchestral form.
- 17:25And with each breath, that discomfort feels less personal,
- 17:31less important, more like a ripple in the distance.
- 17:38And imagine that healing sunrise light.
- 17:44Now imagine it flowing through your body, almost like a warm
- 17:49stream of liquid sunlight is now inside you.
- 17:55And imagine it flowing down your arm and surrounding your elbow
- 18:00or any other part of your body like a soft glowing cocoon.
- 18:07It doesn't rush, it simply rebuilds quietly, consistently
- 18:13and effectively. And every breath is like a brush
- 18:18stroke of restoration. And you don't even need to
- 18:24understand how the healing works, you just give permission
- 18:28to allow it. The more you allow it, the more
- 18:35your body finds its own rhythm, its wisdom, its capacity to
- 18:42repair and renew at a faster rate.
- 18:49And now, as this comfort begins to spread, you can feel yourself
- 18:56drifting even deeper into relaxation, almost as if with
- 19:03every breath you are floating further out onto a calm cloud of
- 19:12sleep. And each wave that laps against
- 19:17the shore takes with it the remnants of tension, stress or
- 19:23worry, and leaves behind silence, stillness and peace.
- 19:33And there is no need now to hold on to any unwanted sensations.
- 19:40And you don't need to brace or fight anymore.
- 19:46And any pain that was once sharp or intense or overwhelming is
- 19:53beginning to morph into a gentle warmth, fading now like the last
- 19:59colours of the sunset. The body is held safe and softly
- 20:06cradled in the sky, blue blankets of your imagination
- 20:13under the canopy of healing light, with nothing to disturb
- 20:19your rest. Whenever you choose to, you can
- 20:24take your mind elsewhere. And whenever you think of
- 20:28unwanted sensations, just imagine freezing them, turning
- 20:32the sensations into a block of ice, and imagine that ice
- 20:36melting away. And as you drift even deeper
- 20:41now, your mind may wander into dreams of healing places, of
- 20:50peaceful beaches and swaying trees, of orchestras playing to
- 20:57the rhythm of your breath and the speed of your healing.
- 21:03And your body is doing exactly what it knows how to do,
- 21:09repairing, recovering, and melting away anything that
- 21:15doesn't belong. Imagine an aquamarine glow
- 21:22around your elbow, or anything else, the combination of you.
- 21:28Imagine freezing any sensations that are unwanted.
- 21:34Imagine a colour, a bubble around those sensations.
- 21:37Perhaps a blue-green, aquamarine bubble around the sensations,
- 21:43like a force field. Just imagine shrinking that
- 21:47force field and melting that ice cube and just feeling that
- 21:52you're letting go of any sensations that are unhelpful
- 21:57and unnecessary. You've already understood the
- 22:01message that this is a sign that you're making progress and
- 22:07therefore the pain is not required.
- 22:10Just sensations to let you know that you're healing in the right
- 22:15area and your body is doing exactly what it knows how to do.
- 22:23Repairing, recovering, and melting away anything that
- 22:30doesn't belong. And now, if the time is right,
- 22:35you can fall asleep easily, deeply and safely because the
- 22:42work is already being done and you are already becoming
- 22:49stronger, calmer and freer. Drifting, dreaming and healing.
- 22:59And if the time is right to drift into a wonderful healing
- 23:03sleep, I will count from 1:00 to 10:00 and each number will take
- 23:08you deeper towards that journey into sleep.
- 23:13But if the time isn't appropriate for sleep and you
- 23:17wish to awaken, then when I arrive at #10 you can choose to
- 23:22awaken and open your eyes only if now is not the right time to
- 23:28drift into that wonderful, healing, restorative and
- 23:33rejuvenating sleep. Starting to count 123456789 and
- 23:5010. None.
- 28:22None. None.
- 31:52None. Yeah.
- 33:52Yeah. Yeah.
