- 0:26Speaker 2: Mario. Yes, I'm excited about this.
- 0:29Speaker 1: So what are you making us eat today on Eating wildber.
- 0:33Speaker 3: Look, usually this is something you would eat after your
- 0:35Speaker 3: a big meal, your dinner or whatever.
- 0:37Speaker 2: But I wanted to do something a little different. I've
- 0:39Speaker 2: seen some of your shows, which I love your show
- 0:41Speaker 2: by the way, thank it's a very moving show, is
- 0:43Speaker 2: very raw. I love that. Today let me give you
- 0:46Speaker 2: that sucker tuning up. You know what I'm saying.
- 1:12Speaker 1: I've never even heard of socket to me, and it's
- 1:15Speaker 1: really spelled socket to me, Yeah crazy, and it's I
- 1:20Speaker 1: never heard of it. And then I was like the
- 1:22Speaker 1: second I saw socket to me, Cake, I said, huh
- 1:25Speaker 1: and I said, let me google this. Yeah, and it
- 1:28Speaker 1: does exist, guys, it is.
- 1:30Speaker 2: It is Google. It's a real thing.
- 1:31Speaker 3: A lot of people don't know about it. In fact,
- 1:34Speaker 3: I was a kid when my grandmother used to make it.
- 1:36Speaker 3: And the fondest memories I have of soccer to me,
- 1:39Speaker 3: cake is fighting with my cousins over who's going to
- 1:41Speaker 3: get the bowl that had the last bit of battery.
- 1:44Speaker 2: Okay, and these right here, yes.
- 1:46Speaker 3: Like these, these could get you a black eye mouth
- 1:49Speaker 3: because the way she used to mix the battery and
- 1:51Speaker 3: get the whole it's just for so I don't know
- 1:54Speaker 3: if it's gonna turn like that today. But I don't
- 1:56Speaker 3: have her little special lists, she said.
- 1:58Speaker 2: But she did. She tell me some seat why you.
- 2:01Speaker 1: Know, just so you know a little side story, because
- 2:03Speaker 1: I am familiar with the blender tools. We all licked
- 2:06Speaker 1: them in our household too, especially don't let like chocolate
- 2:09Speaker 1: chip cookie though, don't forget it. But I saw on
- 2:12Speaker 1: these day actually have the new ones where it's like
- 2:15Speaker 1: not metal, it's like flat, so you can really get
- 2:17Speaker 1: a good lick, you can really, And we so this
- 2:20Speaker 1: right here, these actually used to be Remember the old
- 2:23Speaker 1: was that with just the lastick and it's rubber.
- 2:24Speaker 2: Yeah, and we used to go in there and we
- 2:26Speaker 2: used to go crazy.
- 2:27Speaker 3: So anyway, soccer tomic cake is like and she used
- 2:29Speaker 3: to make upside down pineapple cake, but that's a more popular, right,
- 2:32Speaker 3: But this is like, was my favorite dessert that she
- 2:34Speaker 3: would make. So I figured I would share here today
- 2:36Speaker 3: since the show is so raw and open.
- 2:39Speaker 1: And then, yeah, so what are the ingredients for the cake?
- 2:44Speaker 2: Ingredients?
- 2:44Speaker 3: We all know if we got the cake batter here,
- 2:46Speaker 3: we have eggs oil, sugar sold cream.
- 2:51Speaker 2: That's kind of like, why are you putting sour cream?
- 2:54Speaker 2: And I was like, what I said, the same thing.
- 2:56Speaker 3: I'm like, it's crazy chemistry, some water, and over here
- 2:59Speaker 3: we have some cinnamons and pecans, some it's figgas butter,
- 3:04Speaker 3: and then we're going to.
- 3:05Speaker 1: Be a milkyke mixed. So side note, you guys don't know.
- 3:10Speaker 1: You guys weren't here obviously, but every time Mario was
- 3:15Speaker 1: looking at the cinnamon, he was like questioning it a
- 3:17Speaker 1: little bit, and I was trying to get I was
- 3:19Speaker 1: trying to get him to lick it.
- 3:21Speaker 3: I was like, cinnamon mixed up with and it's crazy
- 3:24Speaker 3: because this is the brow sugar.
- 3:27Speaker 2: Obviously, is bigger grains. I had to smell it.
- 3:31Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, all right, so let's get to making.
- 3:38Speaker 1: So I'm gonna be your helper. So if you want,
- 3:42Speaker 1: we can either walk you through your wars, because I
- 3:44Speaker 1: see you have two different bowls.
- 3:45Speaker 3: So you're going to do that bowl over there, okay,
- 3:46Speaker 3: and I'm gonna do this, then you're going to do.
- 3:48Speaker 2: It's not really any specific order. You just want to make.
- 3:51Speaker 2: The The most important thing is once you get the better,
- 3:54Speaker 2: everything in the better is that you beat it up.
- 3:58Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying.
- 3:58Speaker 1: As long as you can okay, as long as you
- 4:00Speaker 1: can like well, as long as it's like really smooth.
- 4:04Speaker 3: You shouldn't see too many bubbles and like you know
- 4:07Speaker 3: what I'm saying. So I'm really bad at cracking eggs.
- 4:11Speaker 3: Ain't gonna lie to you.
- 4:12Speaker 1: I cracked.
- 4:12Speaker 2: But if you want you want to do that, I'm
- 4:14Speaker 2: gonna trying to try to hurry.
- 4:16Speaker 1: Bad at cracking an egg. I'm gonna tell you a
- 4:19Speaker 1: secret if you If you mess up, I'll tell you
- 4:21Speaker 1: what I think the secret is to crack in an egg.
- 4:23Speaker 2: Do you want to tell you before so they won't
- 4:24Speaker 2: waste no eggs?
- 4:25Speaker 1: No, I want to see you doing all right?
- 4:26Speaker 2: Cool, that's okay, it's perfect. A wait, do you have
- 4:32Speaker 2: to put it in here? All right, I'm resting.
- 4:36Speaker 1: Awesome that you seem like a g Okay, let's see
- 4:40Speaker 1: your next crack.
- 4:42Speaker 2: Let's see if it was just a good one.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Okay, you're good, no egg shell so far.
- 4:50Speaker 2: Probably because I'm not hesitating. I'm just going for it.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Yo, you're you're okay, you may be a professional.
- 4:57Speaker 2: Wait what's that right there?
- 4:59Speaker 1: That's a baby on pine?
- 5:01Speaker 2: Where is that that little black piece?
- 5:04Speaker 1: It's fine, it's just it's just we'll survive.
- 5:09Speaker 2: Let's go for it, all right. Cool that you did it.
- 5:13Speaker 1: Fantastic job cracking eggs. Just for you guys listening, My
- 5:17Speaker 1: secrets of cracking an egg is exactly how he did it.
- 5:20Speaker 1: The harder you crack it, the better it cracks.
- 5:23Speaker 3: It was telepathy for sure, because I usually don't go
- 5:27Speaker 3: like that just made me crazy.
- 5:29Speaker 1: Okay, So we got the eggs over the oil. Now, okay,
- 5:32Speaker 1: all right, this is this.
- 5:35Speaker 3: Is already like we already put the right the measurements
- 5:39Speaker 3: and we ain't just guessing, and then we got the
- 5:42Speaker 3: white sugar.
- 5:43Speaker 2: But it's crazy because like most people who can cook that.
- 5:45Speaker 2: I know. They don't even do measurements. They go off
- 5:48Speaker 2: of in state. That's how you go.
- 5:50Speaker 1: But I think that's most black people though. Right, Okay,
- 5:53Speaker 1: we got no you may there's a rubber one on
- 5:59Speaker 1: the other side. So now we got the sour cream.
- 6:02Speaker 1: Now I've never seen.
- 6:04Speaker 2: I used to love looking at this what we used
- 6:06Speaker 2: to crazy?
- 6:08Speaker 1: Now I have never seen sour cream going a cake.
- 6:11Speaker 1: So when I heard the ingredients, I t.
- 6:14Speaker 2: Of what the sour cream will be used for? Is
- 6:16Speaker 2: it compted consistency?
- 6:18Speaker 1: Is exporter textra makes it like all moist and nice? Okay, okay,
- 6:22Speaker 1: trust me. I did research because I was like, socker
- 6:24Speaker 1: to me. Then I called some friends, like sour cream
- 6:26Speaker 1: and cake, you should they didn't make a mistake, and
- 6:28Speaker 1: she's like, no, girl, it makes it all so nice.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Okay. Being a chef probably really makes you understand chemistry better.
- 6:37Speaker 1: I feel like I'm going to go on this side now.
- 6:39Speaker 2: Yeah it sure, wait, I gotta put this water in
- 6:41Speaker 2: here for oh yeah water?
- 6:43Speaker 1: All right, So there's all the ingredients for the sucking
- 6:45Speaker 1: to me cake. Now before Mario starts blending and us
- 6:49Speaker 1: having to send you to uh, it's a commercial because
- 6:53Speaker 1: no listener is gonna want to hear that blend. So
- 6:59Speaker 1: now I'm gonna to do so Soccer to me, has
- 7:02Speaker 1: it is interesting because what I had noticed you can
- 7:06Speaker 1: explain this, but it has like pecans.
- 7:07Speaker 2: And cinnamon, got pecan cinnamon inside. So what you get
- 7:12Speaker 2: with it?
- 7:12Speaker 3: You get this sweet, doughey yet still crunchy texture when
- 7:18Speaker 3: you write into it.
- 7:19Speaker 2: Right.
- 7:19Speaker 3: I personally like to eat mine and drink it with
- 7:21Speaker 3: almond milk, which is why.
- 7:22Speaker 1: Yeah, we're both we're both drinking almond milk.
- 7:25Speaker 3: But it's warm and it's it's amazing. You want to
- 7:27Speaker 3: eat it warm. You can eat it cold, but you
- 7:29Speaker 3: definitely want to eat it warm. Yes, just put the Yeah, put.
- 7:32Speaker 1: The cinnamon right, So cinnamon in the cake mix. We
- 7:36Speaker 1: have some brown sugar in the cake mix. We have
- 7:39Speaker 1: pecans in the cake and then we got.
- 7:43Speaker 2: To mix it.
- 7:44Speaker 1: Right, yet do we really put this to sugar? Okay,
- 7:48Speaker 1: we're gonna do it.
- 7:49Speaker 2: I'm following you.
- 7:50Speaker 3: That's again, that's the helps the Okay, we mix it.
- 7:54Speaker 3: And so what happens is we're gonna mix this first. Okay,
- 7:57Speaker 3: we're gonna put that inside.
- 7:59Speaker 1: Mario, Well, just finished blending the cake mix. It's officially done,
- 8:04Speaker 1: and now I made the topic. Well if this isn't
- 8:07Speaker 1: the top, and this is like the side of the.
- 8:09Speaker 2: Cake in between the cake.
- 8:10Speaker 3: I can't remember exactly how that part works because I
- 8:13Speaker 3: was always waiting.
- 8:14Speaker 2: For the batter, the batter booth.
- 8:16Speaker 1: Yes, let's get our little pants. I think I did
- 8:22Speaker 1: have butter, but I don't have the We'll just do
- 8:25Speaker 1: a kind of ghetto spread it over. I melted it
- 8:30Speaker 1: on the oven by accident, so we're gonna spread it.
- 8:34Speaker 1: We got our little pants. I'm so excited to to
- 8:38Speaker 1: try the cake. But I'm also so excited to hear
- 8:41Speaker 1: Mario being broke at some point and Mario being the
- 8:45Speaker 1: superstar that we know.
- 8:47Speaker 3: All right, cool, let me do this real quick because
- 8:49Speaker 3: it was a little scalpy in there. Okay, that's cool.
- 8:53Speaker 2: I'm gonna.
- 8:56Speaker 1: We got it, all right, So here we go. We
- 8:58Speaker 1: pour the battering. Can we test it? Can we? Are
- 9:01Speaker 1: we allowed to lick the little sticks?
- 9:03Speaker 2: This is yours like an ice cream. It's like your
- 9:05Speaker 2: little cake.
- 9:05Speaker 1: Col Yes, here we go, chairs here all right, let's see.
- 9:09Speaker 2: See this is why we used to go crazy. You say,
- 9:11Speaker 2: you get it, you get it.
- 9:13Speaker 1: I have had a siblings. Okay, this is what we
- 9:14Speaker 1: do siblings.
- 9:16Speaker 3: I got four sisters and three brothers. But that's on
- 9:18Speaker 3: my father's side. But I did grow up with most
- 9:21Speaker 3: of my ass and uncles and all my little cousins.
- 9:23Speaker 3: It was like eighteen of us living in the house.
- 9:26Speaker 1: I ate this.
- 9:28Speaker 2: This isn't deserved by itself.
- 9:30Speaker 1: Crazy the better it is fantastic. All right, So are
- 9:35Speaker 1: you getting in it?
- 9:35Speaker 2: I like it?
- 9:36Speaker 1: I like I like how you go bring Okay, so
- 9:39Speaker 1: pour your some. I guess you're pouring some of it
- 9:42Speaker 1: into like half of the batter.
- 9:45Speaker 2: Yeah, you gotta fill it up halfway. Oh wow, there
- 9:48Speaker 2: you go.
- 9:49Speaker 3: We make that ship it and we left this battery
- 9:52Speaker 3: here so that we can just we can see the
- 9:54Speaker 3: part of the experience. Like, yes, when I was a kid,
- 9:57Speaker 3: like we would literally argue over who was going to
- 9:59Speaker 3: get the batter, right, yeah, because it's like.
- 10:02Speaker 1: Well while we while we tried this batter. I want
- 10:05Speaker 1: to know a little bit more about you.
- 10:08Speaker 2: What do you what do you want to know? Where
- 10:10Speaker 2: would you? Like?
- 10:10Speaker 1: I want the story to start all with the batter,
- 10:13Speaker 1: So what was going on at the time, like when
- 10:16Speaker 1: you were fighting over cake batter? Like who were you
- 10:19Speaker 1: living with I want to know the whole backstory.
- 10:21Speaker 2: Well, we moved around quite a few times. When I
- 10:23Speaker 2: was younger. We grew up in Emison Village. What state
- 10:29Speaker 2: is that, I said, West Baltimore.
- 10:30Speaker 3: Okay, my mother was pregnant with me. She lived closer
- 10:34Speaker 3: to the projects, and then she moved around a lot.
- 10:37Speaker 3: And then when I was about I would say, ages
- 10:40Speaker 3: like four to five, I was living with my grandmother.
- 10:44Speaker 3: There was like eighteen of us living in a water
- 10:46Speaker 3: household between the eighties and like six and.
- 10:48Speaker 2: Ten years old.
- 10:49Speaker 1: Was your mom a single mom?
- 10:51Speaker 2: Yeah? She was. She was.
- 10:53Speaker 3: I saw my dad like once when I was younger,
- 10:55Speaker 3: and then as I guess time went on, it just
- 10:59Speaker 3: got more dissing than this.
- 11:00Speaker 2: But we're cloling down, But damn, mama was a singlema.
- 11:03Speaker 3: But I was like, we had one of those families
- 11:05Speaker 3: where everybody was raised by everybody, you know, so and so,
- 11:08Speaker 3: whoever was at the house was who's watching the kids.
- 11:11Speaker 2: But we had a lot of freedom.
- 11:12Speaker 3: As kids because our parents were all like this is
- 11:14Speaker 3: we're talking about the eighties and nineties.
- 11:16Speaker 2: Right, So our parents.
- 11:18Speaker 3: Were all like living their lives and kind of just
- 11:20Speaker 3: in the streets. Really, it was just it wasn't It
- 11:23Speaker 3: wasn't something that we knew to be abnormal. Yeah, to
- 11:26Speaker 3: be over your friend's house and your parents not know
- 11:29Speaker 3: where you are, or to be out until ten eleven
- 11:32Speaker 3: and no one's calling to see where you are.
- 11:35Speaker 1: So was your family primarily all in that city?
- 11:38Speaker 2: Yeah? Okay, okay, yes.
- 11:39Speaker 1: Because I know, like for me, like I have family
- 11:41Speaker 1: in you know, Chicago, Kelly, I'm from New York, but
- 11:45Speaker 1: like you know, different, So we didn't grow up like
- 11:48Speaker 1: a lot of people in one house. But you're saying
- 11:50Speaker 1: like eighteen people were in a house.
- 11:53Speaker 2: And it's like it, but it was. It was like
- 11:55Speaker 2: a revolving door.
- 11:56Speaker 3: Because again, I mean, I guess the closest thing I
- 12:01Speaker 3: could say is like you remember that scene to Minnie
- 12:03Speaker 3: Society when came first wake up in the house and
- 12:06Speaker 3: the party going on, the music's play.
- 12:09Speaker 2: That's like what I was, like, Saint God out it
- 12:12Speaker 2: was normal? Wow, I feel me So Yeah.
- 12:15Speaker 1: So just to fashion, you started in the industry at
- 12:19Speaker 1: what age.
- 12:21Speaker 3: I was, Well, I would say I started at over
- 12:24Speaker 3: You know, my first concert was in my liberal you
- 12:26Speaker 3: know what I'm saying, with my grandmother and my aunts
- 12:28Speaker 3: and my uncles and I was a kid that was
- 12:30Speaker 3: always singing everybody's birthday parties, right, So my mother would
- 12:33Speaker 3: make once she saw at four years old that I
- 12:37Speaker 3: had a talent or passion for music, she kept music
- 12:39Speaker 3: around me. She brought me this mic that tuned into
- 12:42Speaker 3: the radio when I was around four or five Christmas,
- 12:45Speaker 3: and I literally would wake up every morning and miss
- 12:48Speaker 3: Max Socks and me singing and tuning into the radio,
- 12:51Speaker 3: like trying to mimic everything. That's how it became I
- 12:54Speaker 3: think of good singing because I would try to mimic
- 12:56Speaker 3: everything I heard, from boys, some men, to you know Joe,
- 13:00Speaker 3: to the older music. My grandmother used to play Whitney Houston,
- 13:04Speaker 3: anything that had melody to it.
- 13:05Speaker 2: I would try to sing.
- 13:06Speaker 1: So your family in totality, like did they embrace it?
- 13:10Speaker 1: And were you the only singer in the family or
- 13:12Speaker 1: were there like other symbls like well, I could try
- 13:14Speaker 1: and compete.
- 13:15Speaker 3: I guess my mother was right. She played a piano
- 13:18Speaker 3: and she also just had a great ear form. She
- 13:23Speaker 3: also sang. On my father's side, he sang, but at
- 13:26Speaker 3: the time I didn't know that, and I think it
- 13:29Speaker 3: was just my family just had a lot of soul
- 13:32Speaker 3: and I went to church and was singing church every
- 13:34Speaker 3: Sunday from the ages of eight until I moved away
- 13:38Speaker 3: from Baltimore. So I had a lot of soul around me.
- 13:41Speaker 3: I had a lot of soulful people. I mean, my
- 13:44Speaker 3: grandmother cooked a lot. Like it was just very much.
- 13:46Speaker 3: So like throughout the week, you know, family members like
- 13:51Speaker 3: coming over, like everybody want to hear me sing.
- 13:53Speaker 2: If it was a birthday, I'm singing at the birthday party. Okay.
- 13:56Speaker 3: So it became a thing where I got my confidence
- 14:00Speaker 3: because of my family, and my support came from there.
- 14:03Speaker 2: My first talent show was.
- 14:05Speaker 3: Elementary school and we were in a group and we
- 14:08Speaker 3: sung I want to say, it was standard ray or
- 14:13Speaker 3: I Make Love to You by Boys Cemen. And after
- 14:16Speaker 3: that performance was a day I knew that I wanted
- 14:19Speaker 3: to do music.
- 14:21Speaker 1: Was that because of the crowd's reaction or what that was? That?
- 14:24Speaker 2: Right? It was the crowd's reaction.
- 14:26Speaker 3: But as a kid, like you're going to school with
- 14:28Speaker 3: kids that like don't like you, you know what a kid,
- 14:30Speaker 3: you go through a lot all of these things where
- 14:31Speaker 3: it's like you have a weird you know, relationships with
- 14:34Speaker 3: each other socially.
- 14:35Speaker 2: And then I do that and it's like everybody likes you.
- 14:39Speaker 1: Were you kind of bullied before, but it was just
- 14:43Speaker 1: it was just like everyone.
- 14:45Speaker 2: I was never really bullied. I was.
- 14:48Speaker 3: I got in a lot of fights, but I wasn't
- 14:49Speaker 3: bullied as a kid. I was just like I mean,
- 14:52Speaker 3: I grew up in a household where we was always
- 14:53Speaker 3: fighting with each other.
- 14:55Speaker 2: Clearly.
- 14:56Speaker 3: Yeah, my older cousins like we would like come on,
- 14:58Speaker 3: like you know what I'm saying, Like they was beating
- 15:00Speaker 3: us up, and we was always so it was outside.
- 15:02Speaker 2: I was like, all right, we're ready.
- 15:03Speaker 1: But you do the talent show and you see a
- 15:05Speaker 1: shift in your classmates right away? Or do you just
- 15:07Speaker 1: see a shift at the show.
- 15:09Speaker 3: I see a shift as everybody teachers, classmates, the whole school, Okay, Right.
- 15:13Speaker 3: As a kid, I was so I was very exposed
- 15:16Speaker 3: to so much, so I knew how to read human
- 15:17Speaker 3: behavior at a young age. So I saw the shift.
- 15:20Speaker 3: And as a kid, you're thinking about a better life,
- 15:23Speaker 3: like or like you're thinking about how.
- 15:25Speaker 2: To be the coolest in the school.
- 15:27Speaker 3: So it's like it automatically shot me from being this
- 15:29Speaker 3: little fat, chubby kid who could.
- 15:31Speaker 2: Say I was a fat kid.
- 15:32Speaker 1: I would never think that.
- 15:34Speaker 2: This battle I'll say that, celebrate them, I would Shelby
- 15:40Speaker 2: kid like she can pull it up in kid, I
- 15:46Speaker 2: didn't know that, you know what I'm saying. So like
- 15:48Speaker 2: as a fam you blow the roof off, go crazy, Okay.
- 15:52Speaker 3: And then my grandmother was right there in the first
- 15:54Speaker 3: A lot of it was seeing her, her excitement and
- 15:56Speaker 3: happiness for me, you know what I'm saying, Like having
- 15:58Speaker 3: heard there and my mom named there, like they were
- 16:01Speaker 3: like my biggest supporters as a kid, and like helping
- 16:05Speaker 3: me instore that confidence. Okay, Okay, So by the time
- 16:07Speaker 3: I got to talent shows. I'm gonna tell you about
- 16:10Speaker 3: this more later when we get to like the age
- 16:12Speaker 3: of like eleven, But like by the time I got there,
- 16:15Speaker 3: I had.
- 16:15Speaker 2: A lot a lot of confidence in myself that I
- 16:17Speaker 2: didn't had.
- 16:17Speaker 1: Before by the time because because of all the talented.
- 16:22Speaker 3: Party and the talent the family event like those, Because
- 16:26Speaker 3: singing in front of your family is hard. Yeah, Like
- 16:29Speaker 3: singing in front of people who you love and know
- 16:31Speaker 3: is like sometimes more difficult than singing in front of strangers.
- 16:35Speaker 1: Yeah, when I was a kid, I was fun. Fact,
- 16:39Speaker 1: nobody's gonna really know this except for my family. But
- 16:41Speaker 1: my family we had like a family band, someone like
- 16:44Speaker 1: the Jackson's. My mom was like worse than Joe Jackson,
- 16:47Speaker 1: except first she didn't get the Michael Jackson results right. Anyways,
- 16:52Speaker 1: one of the things I remember is the damn where
- 16:56Speaker 1: was I going with this?
- 16:59Speaker 2: Oh?
- 16:59Speaker 1: One of the things I realized as a childhood performer
- 17:02Speaker 1: was that it was always harder for me to perform
- 17:04Speaker 1: in front of one person. But if I had like
- 17:06Speaker 1: a hundred people or two hundred people, five hundred people,
- 17:09Speaker 1: a thousand killed it.
- 17:11Speaker 2: Wow.
- 17:11Speaker 1: But like if you put one person in front of me,
- 17:14Speaker 1: couldn't do it. And so so I think it's interesting
- 17:18Speaker 1: that you saying that in front of your family.
- 17:20Speaker 3: You were cool in front of my family. Now I
- 17:22Speaker 3: was saying in front of my family at one point
- 17:24Speaker 3: it was like nerve wrecking to like like grow knowing
- 17:29Speaker 3: that I had to get right, but singing that on
- 17:32Speaker 3: the spot at birthday parties and doing that type. So
- 17:34Speaker 3: now come on in here and when they're playing and
- 17:38Speaker 3: doing pillow fighting, little outside having a rock fight, and
- 17:41Speaker 3: then you get called in to sing a heavy birth
- 17:44Speaker 3: and you know, so it's like those types of things
- 17:46Speaker 3: help to build my coffee.
- 17:47Speaker 1: Okay, I see what you're saying, Okay, so you go
- 17:50Speaker 1: from being on the spot now your groom. You're slowly
- 17:53Speaker 1: morphing into the superstar because you start. The reason why
- 17:57Speaker 1: I keep bringing this up is because you were so
- 17:59Speaker 1: young when you started, and I want to see like
- 18:04Speaker 1: how it happened, Like what exactly happened, and how that translate.
- 18:11Speaker 3: Milestones in my younger life that led to being seen
- 18:15Speaker 3: by the right people. The molestone as what we're talking
- 18:19Speaker 3: about before the elementary school talent show. That talent show
- 18:22Speaker 3: was a milestone because the first time that it went
- 18:25Speaker 3: from everybody in my family knowing this kid has talent,
- 18:28Speaker 3: to my peers and the school I went to every day,
- 18:33Speaker 3: people now knowing like, oh, you know, just this is
- 18:35Speaker 3: not just a talent show.
- 18:36Speaker 2: We got dressed. I was in a group. We got
- 18:38Speaker 2: dressed for guys.
- 18:40Speaker 3: Matter of fact, I was in the group with Monique Sudden.
- 18:44Speaker 3: Monique from Baltimore, the comedian Wow put us because we
- 18:49Speaker 3: used to live down the street. She put us in
- 18:52Speaker 3: a group and we rehearsed in her basement everything and.
- 18:55Speaker 1: Was Monique as big as she was at the at
- 18:58Speaker 1: the time.
- 18:59Speaker 3: Wow, She wasn't unique yet, sure she was on her
- 19:02Speaker 3: like she And so that was a milestone because it
- 19:06Speaker 3: was now like, oh, oh, we gotta put this, we
- 19:09Speaker 3: gotta get help, we gotta you know what I'm saying.
- 19:11Speaker 2: So then after that.
- 19:12Speaker 3: I think I wanna said it was like elementary school,
- 19:14Speaker 3: old year, elementary school.
- 19:15Speaker 2: I was like like five to ten, right, I don't
- 19:18Speaker 2: know or whatever.
- 19:21Speaker 3: Anyway that age and from that point on it became
- 19:24Speaker 3: more of like a duty in the job because now
- 19:26Speaker 3: it's like, okay, practicing, well, I got out of the
- 19:30Speaker 3: group I'm talking about. Like with my mom, it was like,
- 19:32Speaker 3: this is it. This is the thing that's going to
- 19:35Speaker 3: keep my baby from turning into our other you know,
- 19:39Speaker 3: her cousins and jail and streets and six or seven.
- 19:42Speaker 1: Your mom in that decision worse.
- 19:44Speaker 3: She told me, Okay, she said she knew she had
- 19:46Speaker 3: to do that because she saw she knew growing up
- 19:49Speaker 3: in Bottomore. It it's because of my family history. It
- 19:52Speaker 3: was only nobody really did any I was. I'm the
- 19:56Speaker 3: first to like really leave the city and do something
- 19:59Speaker 3: amazing with this life.
- 20:01Speaker 2: Life.
- 20:02Speaker 3: Life life changes, like you know generationally, you know. So
- 20:21Speaker 3: my mother was actually a she had a scholarship playing
- 20:25Speaker 3: tennis in Kaytonsville, and she had an accident.
- 20:28Speaker 2: And so it was at the time, and so she
- 20:34Speaker 2: just wanted to see me do great things. And I
- 20:36Speaker 2: think that music.
- 20:37Speaker 3: When she saw that, it was like, okay, so what
- 20:40Speaker 3: the that is? You know, practicing talent shows? Oh you're
- 20:44Speaker 3: only ten, but you're.
- 20:45Speaker 2: You're doing a talent show with sixteen and seventeen year olds.
- 20:47Speaker 2: I don't care you're gonna do it. I don't want
- 20:49Speaker 2: to do it.
- 20:50Speaker 1: Like the other time, it smells like cake, smells like
- 20:54Speaker 1: so your mom like, and she she also like provided
- 20:57Speaker 1: a level of discipline and structure to your career.
- 21:00Speaker 2: Absolutely, it's forehead, all.
- 21:02Speaker 1: Right, But did you do you do it the chicken
- 21:05Speaker 1: and egg? Did your mom come to you and be like, Okay,
- 21:08Speaker 1: you're talented and we're gonna pour all this or were
- 21:11Speaker 1: you like, Mom, I really think I can do this?
- 21:13Speaker 1: And then she poured it into you.
- 21:14Speaker 2: Such a great question. And soon as you asked me that,
- 21:16Speaker 2: it took me to the sound way. She took me
- 21:18Speaker 2: to a barbershop.
- 21:19Speaker 3: And I can't remember how old it was, but as
- 21:22Speaker 3: I got older, she started taking me to the barbershop.
- 21:24Speaker 2: She used to cut my head and then she started
- 21:26Speaker 2: and she.
- 21:27Speaker 3: Had me sing for the guys in a barbershop, right,
- 21:30Speaker 3: and all of them gave me ten dollars each. So
- 21:32Speaker 3: I must have walked out of there with almost two
- 21:34Speaker 3: hundred dollars okay, right, And so that's the first time
- 21:37Speaker 3: I noticed that I can make money doing it, okay.
- 21:39Speaker 3: And I told I remember telling her. I said, my like,
- 21:42Speaker 3: this is I can make money singing.
- 21:44Speaker 2: She's like, yeah you can.
- 21:46Speaker 3: She's like, who's got to work hard, you know, and
- 21:49Speaker 3: believe in yourself. And so after that she started putting
- 21:51Speaker 3: me in talent shows and I did my first big
- 21:53Speaker 3: talent show that got me some recognition was a talent
- 21:57Speaker 3: show copa state hop and State College in Baltimore. And
- 22:04Speaker 3: I didn't win the show, but Drew Hill was there.
- 22:07Speaker 3: It was label Execs there.
- 22:08Speaker 2: It was a big thing. It used to happen like
- 22:10Speaker 2: once every three four months.
- 22:11Speaker 1: Did you know that those type of level of people
- 22:13Speaker 1: are going to be there?
- 22:14Speaker 2: Okay?
- 22:14Speaker 1: So you just came to oh mom, Okay, I didn't know.
- 22:19Speaker 1: And I have another question to go back to the
- 22:21Speaker 1: barbershop story. Do you think your mom knew that they
- 22:25Speaker 1: were going to give you the money or do you
- 22:27Speaker 1: think it was a pleasant surprise?
- 22:28Speaker 3: For both definitely a pleasant surprise, but she was just
- 22:30Speaker 3: bragging like almost us, saying he can he can go
- 22:34Speaker 3: right okay. And then she was like saying, so she's
- 22:36Speaker 3: always prominent the spot. And I used to hate it
- 22:38Speaker 3: because I'm just like I like to prepare my mind
- 22:40Speaker 3: for it. She used to make me do it because
- 22:42Speaker 3: I think she just she was proud, right, Yeah, I
- 22:44Speaker 3: would do that with my child, you know.
- 22:46Speaker 2: And and I also thought.
- 22:49Speaker 3: I think she just loved music so much as well,
- 22:51Speaker 3: so her passion for seeing me do what she loves
- 22:54Speaker 3: also was just immediate all that much more important to her.
- 22:59Speaker 2: And so now she just maybe and then they were like, hey,
- 23:01Speaker 2: little man, look like happened.
- 23:05Speaker 1: Just happened now before we go into like the tipping point,
- 23:09Speaker 1: I would like to say that the pre tipping point,
- 23:12Speaker 1: so just kind of circle back on you and your mom.
- 23:13Speaker 1: So it seems like and I could be off. Was
- 23:17Speaker 1: this like the music kind of also like this bonding
- 23:20Speaker 1: thing that you guys had or was it like it
- 23:22Speaker 1: was it became like the little glue between you or
- 23:25Speaker 1: do you guys? Did you guys have like an overall
- 23:27Speaker 1: well balanced relationship and this was just the toping.
- 23:29Speaker 3: Well I would say that our relationship got tighter as
- 23:34Speaker 3: I got older because I started to understand the importance
- 23:37Speaker 3: of it more as a kid. She was there, but
- 23:41Speaker 3: she also wasn't there in a lot of ways because
- 23:46Speaker 3: she was suffering from her with her or challenges of life.
- 23:49Speaker 2: And so music was definitely.
- 23:53Speaker 3: Something I never doubted between It was one thousand per
- 23:56Speaker 3: cent of bar we had. She played piano sometimes and
- 23:58Speaker 3: I would literally just I coulpays sing To this day,
- 24:01Speaker 3: it's something I love to do with producers and writer.
- 24:03Speaker 3: It's just because I used to do it with my mother.
- 24:05Speaker 3: So it's like a lot of songs start like that.
- 24:07Speaker 3: A lot of moments, a lot of great chemistry start
- 24:10Speaker 3: like that between creators. Because that's why I feel comfortable
- 24:13Speaker 3: breaking the ice. I might not even know how to
- 24:15Speaker 3: talk to somebody, we might never get it, but since
- 24:16Speaker 3: the music start, you know, and I think she is
- 24:19Speaker 3: still that in me of like helping me understand the
- 24:22Speaker 3: communication and music. How powerful it was in terms of
- 24:25Speaker 3: creating space to understand each other.
- 24:30Speaker 2: And there was definitely a glue. It was one percent
- 24:32Speaker 2: of glue.
- 24:32Speaker 3: She'd always play amazing music and she was one of
- 24:36Speaker 3: those people that she took everything when it came to
- 24:41Speaker 3: music and picking the right songs at the right time.
- 24:45Speaker 3: She just took it really seriously. She was always playing
- 24:48Speaker 3: music around out. She always had a car. Fully see,
- 24:51Speaker 3: when CDs came out, she had those booklets, you know,
- 24:54Speaker 3: those book with the CD just unlimited music, just music,
- 24:58Speaker 3: and I would take cart would steal it, honestly out
- 25:01Speaker 3: of her car and I would go put it in
- 25:02Speaker 3: my carrier machine. And the one I had, you could
- 25:05Speaker 3: put the CD in on one side and the cassetteide
- 25:08Speaker 3: and courge yourself sack.
- 25:09Speaker 2: So I would do that. Wou practice and pant practice.
- 25:12Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, so so she So she definitely played a
- 25:16Speaker 1: huge role in your music career. So going back to
- 25:20Speaker 1: this big performance at this college. So what happens you perform,
- 25:23Speaker 1: you get off stage, someone slides your card.
- 25:26Speaker 3: Let's before we even get there, Okay, all right, putting
- 25:30Speaker 3: you in this talent show. This conversation we happened putting
- 25:32Speaker 3: in this talent show. You know at the time, I
- 25:37Speaker 3: want to say, she was trying to go back to
- 25:39Speaker 3: college at the time, so she would we would leave
- 25:41Speaker 3: school and then go audition for stuff. She would always
- 25:43Speaker 3: try to get me in these things and shows and plays,
- 25:47Speaker 3: and we go to this audition and we meet this
- 25:49Speaker 3: guy who's running the talent show and I was the
- 25:52Speaker 3: youngest person on the show besides his niece.
- 25:54Speaker 2: How old were you would you say at this time?
- 25:56Speaker 2: It had to be like ten eleven.
- 25:58Speaker 3: Yeah, maybe too. And we get there and it's a
- 26:04Speaker 3: long line of people, right, so we're walking past. Little
- 26:07Speaker 3: do I know this is the audition line. It's the
- 26:10Speaker 3: audition line. But everybody I know. I don't see any kids.
- 26:14Speaker 2: I see groups.
- 26:15Speaker 3: I see guys out there dancing and they popping and stuff.
- 26:19Speaker 3: I see girls out there. I see all types of stuff.
- 26:22Speaker 3: And so we get inside and we're just waiting inside.
- 26:25Speaker 3: So we sat inside and he came in.
- 26:27Speaker 2: I went in.
- 26:28Speaker 3: No, I sat inside and there was somebody in there singing,
- 26:31Speaker 3: going crazy. She was singing like Whitney Houston or some
- 26:36Speaker 3: crazy incredible I heard it through the door.
- 26:40Speaker 1: Oh my gosh.
- 26:41Speaker 3: I'm sitting there the time listen listening to her sing,
- 26:44Speaker 3: and I'm like, I'm like, ma, I'm looking at her.
- 26:48Speaker 2: She's like, come on, you going to here. I'm like,
- 26:50Speaker 2: I don't. I don't want to do it. Started crying.
- 26:52Speaker 2: I got scared. She kneeled down. My mother was very
- 26:56Speaker 2: she was a capracr so she was very aggressive. And
- 27:00Speaker 2: it's like it wasn't even if she told her no,
- 27:02Speaker 2: she don't hear no. She don't. I don't think it's
- 27:05Speaker 2: possible for her to hear no. It was just impossible.
- 27:07Speaker 2: So I like her already, you know what I'm saying.
- 27:09Speaker 3: So like she was just one of those that that
- 27:11Speaker 3: type of energy, and I was very scared of her.
- 27:17Speaker 3: Please okay, please don't make me go in I don't
- 27:22Speaker 3: know this.
- 27:22Speaker 2: Man, Like, don't make me go ahead and sing if
- 27:24Speaker 2: it is bad.
- 27:25Speaker 3: And so I went in there and I sang and
- 27:29Speaker 3: but yeah he was.
- 27:30Speaker 2: He thought it was great whatever, And I got to
- 27:32Speaker 2: tell a show. So that's how that starts. Now.
- 27:34Speaker 1: Just see in the room when you were singing, like, okay,
- 27:38Speaker 1: did you feel extra pressure like you better?
- 27:39Speaker 2: Was it was? I was.
- 27:40Speaker 3: I left my body at that point. I wouldn't have
- 27:42Speaker 3: been able to do what I was just leaving. I
- 27:44Speaker 3: gave in, I gave up. I said, look, but I realized,
- 27:47Speaker 3: like looking back now, even as I'm telling a story,
- 27:50Speaker 3: I realized that everything that she was doing.
- 27:53Speaker 2: Was preparing me for these moments.
- 27:56Speaker 3: You know, So it came. It got to the point
- 27:57Speaker 3: where once I start singing, I.
- 28:00Speaker 2: Think I was madic because I know that space.
- 28:03Speaker 3: And I think anybody can relate to like having a
- 28:06Speaker 3: passion for something, no matter what's going on, when you
- 28:08Speaker 3: tap into that energy and you're in that vortex and
- 28:10Speaker 3: you're in that moment present, all your fears, everything goes
- 28:14Speaker 3: out the window and it's just you and God and
- 28:17Speaker 3: you know, And that's what that was. And I think
- 28:19Speaker 3: that was like one of the first moments where I
- 28:21Speaker 3: realized the power and what she was doing, and yeah,
- 28:26Speaker 3: it was powerful.
- 28:26Speaker 2: So I did that. And then I think the Talent
- 28:28Speaker 2: show was a week later or something.
- 28:30Speaker 3: We got got dressed, I put on I had a
- 28:32Speaker 3: jeans suit set on with some fake a fake silver chain.
- 28:38Speaker 3: She cut my hair at that time. I actually still
- 28:40Speaker 3: got pictures somewhere. I gotta find it.
- 28:42Speaker 2: I'm gonna say I got and we go to the
- 28:45Speaker 2: Talent show. I do this show.
- 28:48Speaker 3: I kill it, you know, And then her his niece
- 28:54Speaker 3: ended up winning, but I think he gave it to
- 28:56Speaker 3: it for the but it was a moment that I'll
- 28:59Speaker 3: just never forget.
- 29:00Speaker 2: I was backstage.
- 29:01Speaker 3: I was mad, I was frustrated at a loss and
- 29:03Speaker 3: then like Drew Hill came in there, Cisco came in,
- 29:06Speaker 3: there was like solo man, Jazz came in there, is
- 29:09Speaker 3: it was it was fire and it was like.
- 29:11Speaker 1: Yeah and they yeah, they was there and so it
- 29:17Speaker 1: was fire.
- 29:17Speaker 2: That was fire.
- 29:18Speaker 1: So then what happens after that?
- 29:19Speaker 3: So after that, my mother meets a agent slash manager
- 29:27Speaker 3: at the time, and they connect. It's like, yeah, I
- 29:30Speaker 3: think your son has talent, but this is stuff that
- 29:31Speaker 3: she's telling me, and yeah. They just stayed connected over
- 29:35Speaker 3: the years and years later he reached out to her
- 29:38Speaker 3: to put me in a group.
- 29:40Speaker 2: Years later, Wow, two years ago and two or three
- 29:45Speaker 2: years when.
- 29:45Speaker 1: You were doing solo at this time, I was just solo.
- 29:48Speaker 2: I was a solo artist.
- 29:49Speaker 3: I was singing in church. Mind you do all of this,
- 29:51Speaker 3: I'm singing in church. I'm like all of that, right,
- 29:53Speaker 3: And so.
- 29:55Speaker 2: I tried a group. Things that don't work out, and
- 29:58Speaker 2: then I ended up moving.
- 30:00Speaker 3: In New Jersey when I was like thirteen fourteen that
- 30:03Speaker 3: freshman year.
- 30:04Speaker 1: And high school and these are like, these cities aren't
- 30:08Speaker 1: like I would say, I would for lack of better word,
- 30:13Speaker 1: these aren't These are rough cities. Baltimore, but Jersey.
- 30:16Speaker 2: Also Jersey, where I lived, that wasn't it was it.
- 30:19Speaker 3: It was some of the kids that went to the
- 30:22Speaker 3: school I went to came from rough areas, so that's whay.
- 30:25Speaker 3: A lot of crazy stuff was going on like when
- 30:27Speaker 3: I got there. But like the Bregen County wasn't like
- 30:30Speaker 3: a super rough place, but it was.
- 30:33Speaker 2: It was.
- 30:33Speaker 3: It was spots, you feel me, like certain gangs or
- 30:36Speaker 3: certain culs. But it was nothing like I've never I've
- 30:39Speaker 3: never in my life been anywhere is as crazy as Baltimore.
- 30:42Speaker 1: Se And do you still go back to used to
- 30:45Speaker 1: go back time.
- 30:45Speaker 2: And time from time time, not a lot, but from
- 30:47Speaker 2: time to time.
- 30:48Speaker 1: So you and your mom just solo dolo to Jersey.
- 30:51Speaker 2: Well, I went, She said me, by myself. What do
- 30:54Speaker 2: you mean by yourself?
- 30:56Speaker 1: Just wait, I here's a plane ticket, by I mean,
- 30:58Speaker 1: here's let me.
- 30:59Speaker 2: I'm skipping something. I'm not.
- 31:01Speaker 3: Let me not do that because I'm let me go back.
- 31:03Speaker 3: All right, cool, fuck it, we're gonna go.
- 31:05Speaker 1: Now, we're gonna get by the way, yeah, you already
- 31:09Speaker 1: know we're gonna go over time. I saw, I saw
- 31:11Speaker 1: the mark.
- 31:12Speaker 2: We're going on get some cake.
- 31:14Speaker 3: So during this time, my family was falling a part
- 31:19Speaker 3: a lot, you know a lot of things where people
- 31:21Speaker 3: are getting older and things were changing.
- 31:23Speaker 2: It was a lot going on.
- 31:24Speaker 3: And I kind of got misplaced in that because when
- 31:29Speaker 3: my grandmother passed when I was twelve years old, that
- 31:31Speaker 3: took a lot out of me. That that changed my life,
- 31:33Speaker 3: That changed my perspective of everything I thought love was
- 31:37Speaker 3: life was.
- 31:38Speaker 2: My grandmother worked three jobs to take care of the family.
- 31:44Speaker 3: My great grandmother lived with us, her mother, And so
- 31:49Speaker 3: I watched my grandmother work tirelessly.
- 31:53Speaker 2: And take care of the.
- 31:54Speaker 3: Family while going through her own issues and sugar I
- 31:59Speaker 3: be like, I watched her kind of like deteriorate in
- 32:01Speaker 3: front of me because of stress and just life and
- 32:04Speaker 3: bad eating habits and you know, all of the things
- 32:07Speaker 3: that a lot of our grandmothers and uncle's didn't care
- 32:11Speaker 3: her worry about the time. Like if I knew what
- 32:14Speaker 3: I knew now about health and like the importance of
- 32:17Speaker 3: the frequency of your body and taking care of yourself
- 32:19Speaker 3: and the right fools out, would have been able to
- 32:21Speaker 3: save my grandmother for sure.
- 32:23Speaker 2: And I think about that so much, and I'm like.
- 32:25Speaker 1: Would you say she passed young? The word grandma her
- 32:31Speaker 1: late faifty ye does young?
- 32:35Speaker 3: And so that took a toll on my family. My
- 32:39Speaker 3: family kind of fell apart after that. You know, even
- 32:41Speaker 3: though we had our issues that every it was a
- 32:43Speaker 3: lot of toxic, crazy stuff going on.
- 32:45Speaker 2: We're still family. But she was like the bat. She
- 32:49Speaker 2: was themself. You know.
- 32:50Speaker 3: She was the one that everybody would call when they
- 32:53Speaker 3: had issues, if they needed money, if they needed whatever,
- 32:55Speaker 3: like you know, So when that happened, it it changed.
- 33:02Speaker 3: It made me numb as a kid, I was.
- 33:04Speaker 2: I was. She was. She was like my mom, Like
- 33:06Speaker 2: she was like really my mom.
- 33:09Speaker 1: To assay, when you say it made you numb, so
- 33:11Speaker 1: that means that you were like avoiding your feelings.
- 33:14Speaker 2: It made me that time to life.
- 33:16Speaker 3: It made me numb to like expectations, It made me
- 33:20Speaker 3: numb to anything, like there was no more light in
- 33:23Speaker 3: my life. I felt like she was my life, you
- 33:26Speaker 3: know what I mean? Like I was, I seen so
- 33:28Speaker 3: many crazy things. I've seen people overdose in our house.
- 33:31Speaker 3: I've seen police was raising our house every other weekend,
- 33:34Speaker 3: like stee feeling like.
- 33:35Speaker 2: I grew up like that, and it was like.
- 33:40Speaker 3: She was the She just made life seeing like everything
- 33:43Speaker 3: was gonna be okay.
- 33:45Speaker 2: It was like.
- 33:45Speaker 1: That that her passing made you numb. But then you
- 33:48Speaker 1: just name like other things that were like some some
- 33:52Speaker 1: most people like myself would be like that was super
- 33:55Speaker 1: level trauma, regular regular.
- 33:58Speaker 3: All of that was regular, you know what I'm saying, Like,
- 34:00Speaker 3: all of that to me was was a regularized seek.
- 34:03Speaker 2: Since I can remember, I was seeing things stuff like that.
- 34:05Speaker 2: You feel me.
- 34:06Speaker 3: My my uncle got killed when I was like four
- 34:09Speaker 3: or five years old. My mother's brother, like he was like,
- 34:13Speaker 3: you know, somebody in our family that everybody looked up to.
- 34:16Speaker 2: He got shot twice. You know, I remember being.
- 34:19Speaker 1: A kid, and so you were like you were knew
- 34:22Speaker 1: to death, you weren't new to overdose, you weren't new
- 34:25Speaker 1: to crime. But then your grandma passes and that because
- 34:29Speaker 1: to me, to.
- 34:30Speaker 2: Me, she was like I'd never seen my grandmother cry.
- 34:34Speaker 3: I never except way in church, like you know when
- 34:37Speaker 3: she was praising the Lord, like I never seen her.
- 34:41Speaker 3: I never seen her fail or give up or or
- 34:45Speaker 3: she never wanted anybody to see her in pain. So
- 34:49Speaker 3: when she started getting sick and I started seeing that
- 34:52Speaker 3: part of her manifest I was just like, wait, what
- 34:57Speaker 3: is life like?
- 34:58Speaker 2: What is this? What's really going on?
- 35:00Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying, so anyway, where she passed,
- 35:03Speaker 3: fell fell apart, and it was kind of like I
- 35:06Speaker 3: was a free agent.
- 35:07Speaker 2: It was like I was living with friends. I was
- 35:10Speaker 2: here's your mom.
- 35:11Speaker 1: What was going on with your mom?
- 35:12Speaker 3: Though at the time, I can't tell you exactly what
- 35:14Speaker 3: was going on where because I don't know, but I
- 35:16Speaker 3: know that she.
- 35:16Speaker 2: Was so you're her relationship.
- 35:19Speaker 1: She would like bob in and out your life, but
- 35:21Speaker 1: your grandma was your staple. That's that's what I'm getting.
- 35:24Speaker 2: One thousand percent. Okay, Okay, I'm not good at telling
- 35:27Speaker 2: this story.
- 35:28Speaker 1: No, No, you're doing a great job. I'm just because
- 35:31Speaker 1: it's so crazy, Like I love hearing your story, like, yeah,
- 35:33Speaker 1: this is.
- 35:35Speaker 2: And it's true. I'm not gonna lie. It's my truth.
- 35:39Speaker 3: Is the reason why I am the way I am today,
- 35:41Speaker 3: why i'm you know, still here even in this game,
- 35:44Speaker 3: and and just.
- 35:46Speaker 2: Like focusing on living up no matter how hard things get.
- 35:49Speaker 1: Like so, but you know you're in my opinion, like
- 35:53Speaker 1: the entertainment business has got to be one of the
- 35:56Speaker 1: hardest industries, especially in I'm going to say especially in
- 35:59Speaker 1: your position, because when you hit the I would say
- 36:03Speaker 1: you break the class ceiling right in an industry. That's like,
- 36:07Speaker 1: you know, constantly like okay, being pitched. Okay, what's the new,
- 36:11Speaker 1: what's the new, what's the new, what's the news.
- 36:13Speaker 2: I feel like it's helping me. Everything in life is alchemy. Alchemy, Okay, yeah.
- 36:18Speaker 3: I mean when you're dealing with when you're dealing with
- 36:21Speaker 3: something that has to do with giving people an expression
- 36:25Speaker 3: or an experience to have, it's all energy and it's
- 36:27Speaker 3: all ugly.
- 36:28Speaker 2: And that's how I've looked at it.
- 36:29Speaker 3: I'll save for the past six or seven years of
- 36:32Speaker 3: my life, like, Okay, how do I balance out all
- 36:35Speaker 3: these Are we burning that?
- 36:37Speaker 2: No? You're not burning it?
- 36:38Speaker 1: I don't think so.
- 36:39Speaker 2: Should we check though? We should check it real quick.
- 36:41Speaker 1: Really, it's only been like twenty minutes.
- 36:43Speaker 2: Is it all right? Cool? Fat?
- 36:45Speaker 1: It smells like it just smells good. But you know
- 36:47Speaker 1: what it smells. Okay, you know that's all. Pause for
- 36:52Speaker 1: a second and just check it out. Mario was like, yo,
- 36:56Speaker 1: I smell it burning and I was like.
- 36:57Speaker 2: No, it's not the first time. He was like, no,
- 36:59Speaker 2: it's good.
- 37:00Speaker 1: It's definitely it definitely burns. Because this is what happens
- 37:03Speaker 1: when Coleen tries to be a backwards chef. So col
- 37:07Speaker 1: we did burn it, but before we get coked, we're
- 37:09Speaker 1: gonna try it.
- 37:11Speaker 2: Let's try it.
- 37:11Speaker 1: I'm gonna try this, all right.
- 37:14Speaker 2: I'm gonna should we should we?
- 37:18Speaker 1: Are you gonna try it like that?
- 37:19Speaker 2: It's gonna it's gonna be hot.
- 37:21Speaker 1: There's more burn. Sorry, guys, I'm gonna try and I'm
- 37:25Speaker 1: going to try and put it on the plate, just
- 37:28Speaker 1: so you guys could see the inside of it. Is
- 37:31Speaker 1: it good?
- 37:31Speaker 2: Is it right? Is it okay? That's okay?
- 37:38Speaker 1: Is it because I messed with it?
- 37:40Speaker 2: Okay? I want to see the inside. Guys.
- 37:44Speaker 1: Look it looks like legit. Look at the inside, so.
- 37:49Speaker 2: You look cool if you look at it from next.
- 37:50Speaker 1: So look, we have the cinnamon in there. The cake
- 37:54Speaker 1: probably mad because I burnt his cake. I'm sorry I
- 37:57Speaker 1: burnt your cake.
- 37:58Speaker 2: I wish I would justin.
- 38:00Speaker 1: He was like I smelled.
- 38:01Speaker 2: I was like I knew it was going there. I'm like, yeah,
- 38:04Speaker 2: it's going there. So I was in the story.
- 38:07Speaker 1: So okay, So I'm gonna try this cake. Mario's already
- 38:10Speaker 1: digging in.
- 38:12Speaker 2: Crazy during even matter. Oh my gosh, I.
- 38:16Speaker 1: Don't see why they use this RB. It's super moist.
- 38:19Speaker 1: Is yours as good as mine. Hold up, let me
- 38:24Speaker 1: show you how gangster I am. Oh my god, this
- 38:29Speaker 1: creak is good.
- 38:30Speaker 2: All right, you gotta try with the almond milk dough.
- 38:32Speaker 3: So get a bite and then like right after they
- 38:34Speaker 3: drink some other it's gonna put anything.
- 38:36Speaker 1: Wait, I wanted to put some of the batter on it,
- 38:38Speaker 1: right because I'm gangster, all right, I know what.
- 38:43Speaker 2: Is batter like.
- 38:43Speaker 1: But look, it's gonna be like an icing okay here, yeah,
- 38:49Speaker 1: really that's what I was saying. If we put the
- 38:50Speaker 1: batter on top, that it's gonna take away the breath.
- 38:52Speaker 1: Oh is that what you're saying.
- 38:54Speaker 3: I was saying that when he came, he's trying, then
- 38:58Speaker 3: it would have all right, let's hold on, honest the
- 39:00Speaker 3: thing and it wasn't Prasey with the batter already.
- 39:03Speaker 2: He ain't eve gotta say that. Don't even say that, Ireny.
- 39:07Speaker 1: Tell me that I had wow mm hmm on the milk,
- 39:11Speaker 1: my milk, cheers.
- 39:30Speaker 2: Chers eat it. Where I broke broken, we ain't broke.
- 39:34Speaker 1: But what an amazing combo, you know what. I definitely
- 39:39Speaker 1: say the sweetness and almond milk, so the cake turned
- 39:41Speaker 1: out absolutely delicious. This took us like fifteen minutes to
- 39:45Speaker 1: like prep and make, and if you don't have me
- 39:49Speaker 1: in your kitchen, you probably won't burn your cake.
- 39:53Speaker 2: It's okay, but we made it work.
- 39:56Speaker 1: We put the batter as icing, totally hooked it.
- 39:58Speaker 2: Up in and it's still it's still like the tastes.
- 40:01Speaker 2: You still get what the you know what I mean?
- 40:02Speaker 1: So tom cake, Yeah, it's the cinnamon and the soft missing.
- 40:06Speaker 2: There's a certain custard that goes over the top. I
- 40:08Speaker 2: think that's what that's to use for mm hmm.
- 40:11Speaker 3: It's supposed to actually, it's actually supposed to have that
- 40:14Speaker 3: are on the top, but it's supposed to be a
- 40:15Speaker 3: different type of like an icing, like an icing.
- 40:18Speaker 2: I don't see. My grandma was a wizard in the kitchen. Love.
- 40:22Speaker 1: I crazy appreciate your grandma's contribution. So your life, because
- 40:28Speaker 1: now I can have Soccer to Me cake for the first.
- 40:30Speaker 3: Time, and you could and you could cook it more
- 40:33Speaker 3: often and get better at you know what I'm saying,
- 40:34Speaker 3: all right, and.
- 40:36Speaker 1: You can say that made Soccer to Me cake one
- 40:39Speaker 1: time on the show. I gotta drink this.
- 40:43Speaker 2: Milk, doesn't it add like the extra?
- 40:46Speaker 1: Like I'm surprised the cake isn't sweeter.
- 40:49Speaker 2: Honestly, we didn't put a lot of sugar in there,
- 40:52Speaker 2: but I thought those cake mixes come with sugar already.
- 40:55Speaker 3: I don't know kind of cake missile us because we
- 40:57Speaker 3: got the person to go there first. I don't know,
- 40:59Speaker 3: but it tastes good like the icent like this makes
- 41:02Speaker 3: it feel like it's sweeten than what it is.
- 41:04Speaker 2: So I love it.
- 41:05Speaker 1: I love it, and batter is going to be my
- 41:06Speaker 1: new icing.
- 41:08Speaker 2: Moving forward without the brac cake.
- 41:12Speaker 1: So your mom sends you to New Jersey after your
- 41:18Speaker 1: grandma passes, solo dolo. Now this is where I'm like,
- 41:23Speaker 1: where are you going?
- 41:26Speaker 2: Right?
- 41:28Speaker 3: I mean, familiar with with who she sent me were
- 41:34Speaker 3: at the time, and I'm young. But when I tell you, like,
- 41:39Speaker 3: I don't think you understand, Like I literally was numb
- 41:42Speaker 3: to all of it because the reason why I went
- 41:44Speaker 3: is because I was staying in a group home with
- 41:47Speaker 3: my best friend because his mom basically ran a group offs.
- 41:50Speaker 3: I was just staying there because we could do whatever
- 41:52Speaker 3: we were. You feel me, And it was just like
- 41:55Speaker 3: I was just I wasn't going to school, I was skipping,
- 41:57Speaker 3: so I got in trouble and see what happened. But
- 42:00Speaker 3: when the cops were looking for my mom. They like
- 42:04Speaker 3: I wasn't with my parents, and so well, we finally
- 42:07Speaker 3: caught up where it was like either I had to
- 42:08Speaker 3: live with my aunt or and so I ended up moving.
- 42:11Speaker 3: I live with my aunt for a little bit, but
- 42:13Speaker 3: I just kept I already got a taste of what
- 42:17Speaker 3: being outside was like, and so I just liked it, right.
- 42:21Speaker 3: I liked my freedom at the time, and there was
- 42:25Speaker 3: no one there to leave me down the right path
- 42:29Speaker 3: or up the right path, and so from when I
- 42:32Speaker 3: got in trouble, but I was like when she didn't
- 42:38Speaker 3: want to take on that responsibility and not be able
- 42:41Speaker 3: to take care of me, And so that's why that's
- 42:44Speaker 3: the real reason I ended up moving.
- 42:45Speaker 1: Okay, so you got to taste for the outside. You
- 42:48Speaker 1: were having all this freedom. Now were you saying freedom
- 42:51Speaker 1: and the sense of because like no curfews. Are you
- 42:54Speaker 1: saying that whatever.
- 42:56Speaker 2: I wanted to do it as a as a twelve
- 42:58Speaker 2: year old kid, Well, that's really young to have that freedom.
- 43:02Speaker 3: No, No, wait fourteen, because I was in high school.
- 43:06Speaker 1: Okay, but you were still doing music, but you were
- 43:08Speaker 1: running the streets.
- 43:08Speaker 2: I wasn't doing music at the time. I was I
- 43:10Speaker 2: mean I was still singing him, so I was still
- 43:12Speaker 2: I still love. Yeah, I wasn't actively. I hadn't been
- 43:16Speaker 2: in one studio in my life.
- 43:17Speaker 1: Yeah, but you were. You weren't participating in talent shows anymore.
- 43:20Speaker 2: Because I was over. In my eyes, that was over.
- 43:24Speaker 1: Okay, So you moved to Jersey and you're in a
- 43:27Speaker 1: group home that you're group.
- 43:30Speaker 3: The group of host thing happened in Baltimore, right, And
- 43:33Speaker 3: then when I moved to Jersey, that was like we
- 43:37Speaker 3: pretty much getting adopted really because I never went back home.
- 43:40Speaker 3: It was supposed to be for a weekend, but I
- 43:42Speaker 3: never went back to Baltima, okay, right, and so that's
- 43:46Speaker 3: when it turned into put.
- 43:47Speaker 2: Him in a group. The group don't work out.
- 43:51Speaker 3: Then when I when I was fourteen, I ended up
- 43:53Speaker 3: getting signed to J Records, Clive Davis's label.
- 43:57Speaker 2: Oh that's how that happened.
- 43:58Speaker 1: Okay, so you get signed. I think I didn't tell
- 44:03Speaker 1: you before that I taped to Neo and Neo had
- 44:06Speaker 1: told me how he had. Now was that the record
- 44:08Speaker 1: that Neo that wasn't even nice?
- 44:10Speaker 2: It was like I was fifteen at this time. Okay,
- 44:13Speaker 2: this was like two thousand and two, two thousand and one, right, okay,
- 44:19Speaker 2: I fly to La worked with Warren Campbell.
- 44:25Speaker 3: He had this song called Just a Friend that he
- 44:26Speaker 3: had recorded on Usher already. They felt like the record
- 44:30Speaker 3: was too young for Usher. They went with another record,
- 44:33Speaker 3: and I ended up cutting Just a Friend. Shout out
- 44:36Speaker 3: to Warren Campbell and Harold Lily and all my family
- 44:39Speaker 3: guys that I loved that helped me understand how to
- 44:42Speaker 3: tell stories.
- 44:44Speaker 2: Musically.
- 44:45Speaker 3: We did come on Break my Hair Just a Friend, Like,
- 44:49Speaker 3: those are records that I recorded as my first project. Wow,
- 44:53Speaker 3: And they were the records that introduced me to the
- 44:55Speaker 3: world and I was fifteen years old.
- 44:57Speaker 2: Oh wow, Yeah, so all of that happened. Money Run.
- 44:59Speaker 2: These peop really knew my story and where I came from. Yeah.
- 45:02Speaker 3: So it's like I had to break the ice with
- 45:04Speaker 3: them through sessions and stories.
- 45:06Speaker 2: And I Bring my Hair came.
- 45:08Speaker 3: About like just missing being home getting my hair braided
- 45:10Speaker 3: by my little girlfriend I had, Like that was what.
- 45:13Speaker 2: That's all I was about.
- 45:14Speaker 1: So you get pretty much catapulted overnight. Yeah, and what's
- 45:19Speaker 1: going on in your head? Mama made it. What's going on?
- 45:25Speaker 1: Are you seeing money or where you seeing money? Like
- 45:28Speaker 1: real money at the time, because I know I was
- 45:30Speaker 1: a kid.
- 45:30Speaker 2: I was. There was a basically like a trust set
- 45:33Speaker 2: up for me, but I wasn't.
- 45:35Speaker 1: Really you were like touching the money.
- 45:39Speaker 2: Yeah, I wasn't. But you were working absolutely, and we
- 45:42Speaker 2: were working. I was on promoto, I was touring the world.
- 45:44Speaker 2: And where's your mom doing all this? She was still
- 45:47Speaker 2: living in Baltimore, and.
- 45:49Speaker 1: She knows what's going on. She knows that you're traveling
- 45:51Speaker 1: and doing all this.
- 45:53Speaker 3: I think my year and my family they knew I
- 45:56Speaker 3: was doing my thing, but nobody in my family was involved.
- 45:59Speaker 1: Nobody was even trying to reach out at the time.
- 46:06Speaker 3: There were a few instances where family members try to
- 46:10Speaker 3: reach out, but it was done.
- 46:11Speaker 2: It wasn't rockets my mind.
- 46:15Speaker 1: Mike, can you give me an example.
- 46:16Speaker 2: I'm about to do. I'm not gonna I'm gonna give.
- 46:18Speaker 2: I'm just trying to, like figet it I wanted to
- 46:20Speaker 2: give you.
- 46:21Speaker 3: So that was an essens where one of my cousins
- 46:24Speaker 3: came up to Jersey with my mom and it turned
- 46:29Speaker 3: into like some real like yo, let us in or
- 46:33Speaker 3: else type.
- 46:34Speaker 2: Energy you feel me. They didn't understand the music you
- 46:38Speaker 2: feel me, and.
- 46:41Speaker 3: That that ended up being whatever I don't know if
- 46:44Speaker 3: something like change had happened, but that disappeared, and I
- 46:48Speaker 3: kind of was just like go with the riot because
- 46:52Speaker 3: I didn't know as a kid what was going on.
- 46:54Speaker 3: I didn't understand how things were set up.
- 46:55Speaker 1: I was then you probably were trying to like mess
- 46:58Speaker 1: it up either, right, I would imagine I was. I
- 47:01Speaker 1: was an autopilot still from your grandma, just in life.
- 47:04Speaker 3: Yeah, like imagine just like moving around so much and
- 47:07Speaker 3: not understanding where you're going and not understanding the purpose
- 47:13Speaker 3: behind everything. But I will say this, my grandmother on
- 47:18Speaker 3: her deathbed Northwest Hospital, she told me, she said.
- 47:25Speaker 2: This journey's gonna get really hard for you.
- 47:27Speaker 3: But she said your deskline for greatness in her own words,
- 47:31Speaker 3: but she said, your destline for greatness. Never give up.
- 47:33Speaker 3: I'm always with you, never give up.
- 47:37Speaker 2: And to this day, I.
- 47:39Speaker 3: Literally feel her with me everywhere, like it's a thing
- 47:42Speaker 3: where it's like no, I've gone through so many teams,
- 47:45Speaker 3: so many labels, so many and my own independent.
- 47:48Speaker 2: Label now like I do all my own business.
- 47:50Speaker 3: Now, I understand the business very well, good like life
- 47:54Speaker 3: is good.
- 47:55Speaker 2: But getting to this.
- 47:56Speaker 3: Point, every point in my life through the the belly
- 48:02Speaker 3: of the devil and the belly of the beast. I
- 48:06Speaker 3: always felt her walking with me, So I was I
- 48:09Speaker 3: never was a fearful kid, like I was never even
- 48:13Speaker 3: when I was moving around and I moved it I
- 48:17Speaker 3: was alone, but I always felt that with me, So
- 48:19Speaker 3: I never was like scared of anything.
- 48:23Speaker 2: Never scared.
- 48:23Speaker 1: But the fact that you're acknowledging like walking through the
- 48:25Speaker 1: belly of the devil, it's gonna make me wonder.
- 48:28Speaker 2: The belly of the beast.
- 48:29Speaker 1: Sorry, sorry, yeah, the belly of the beast. And now
- 48:32Speaker 1: I have to ask, like, can you share an experience
- 48:35Speaker 1: of what a belly of the beast walking through that is? Like,
- 48:38Speaker 1: can you give me an exact, actual example of like
- 48:40Speaker 1: the hardest time.
- 48:41Speaker 3: I would say this, when you are a person that
- 48:47Speaker 3: goes against the grain and you think for yourself and
- 48:52Speaker 3: you don't allow the energies around you to consume you
- 48:57Speaker 3: and your soul, then you have to face certain challenges.
- 49:02Speaker 3: I mean, it's hard to say exactly what because it's
- 49:05Speaker 3: so many different, but it's really like when things are
- 49:10Speaker 3: trying to condense your light through pulling access from you,
- 49:16Speaker 3: or taking away your voice, blackballing you, or like putting
- 49:23Speaker 3: you in a position where it's so much harder for
- 49:25Speaker 3: you to get to the next step or you push
- 49:27Speaker 3: through anyway. Yeah, but you still also.
- 49:30Speaker 2: Keep your composure, your integrity, keep your your your life.
- 49:35Speaker 3: You know, there were times where it got really dark
- 49:38Speaker 3: for me, you know, after having huge success in stepping
- 49:43Speaker 3: away from music because of what I was going through personally,
- 49:45Speaker 3: you know, and when I moved back to Boston at
- 49:50Speaker 3: eighteen years old, you know, when I was able to
- 49:55Speaker 3: have like be an adult and move around on my own.
- 49:57Speaker 2: I left Jersey and went back and this left and
- 50:03Speaker 2: how how long were you in Baltimore for like four years?
- 50:06Speaker 1: And this is when you're in a hiatus or the
- 50:09Speaker 1: peace of your career.
- 50:11Speaker 3: Let Me Love You came out in two thousands when
- 50:13Speaker 3: I was like eighteen years old, So it was like
- 50:15Speaker 3: right after that type of energy. But at the time,
- 50:18Speaker 3: it was so much going on. There's so many people
- 50:20Speaker 3: grabbing and pulling it. It was like and I was
- 50:23Speaker 3: having issues with the deal I was. It was like
- 50:25Speaker 3: a lot, and I just left and went back to Baltimore.
- 50:28Speaker 3: And so when I went back to Baltimore, there's a
- 50:29Speaker 3: whole other level of life to face because now you're
- 50:32Speaker 3: you're not in my mind, I'm still here, yeah, but
- 50:36Speaker 3: everybody else's mind I'm Mario. So I had to face
- 50:40Speaker 3: a lot of my own demons. I got to really
- 50:43Speaker 3: see who I was, meaning all the things that I escaped,
- 50:49Speaker 3: but that was still there, lingering.
- 50:51Speaker 2: When I moved back home. It was looking at like this, Can.
- 50:54Speaker 1: You give me an actual example, like Mario.
- 50:57Speaker 3: Like like where I'm from, But there's a lot of hope.
- 51:01Speaker 3: It's taken out of life for a lot of people.
- 51:04Speaker 3: You know, people wake up hopeless every day. You know
- 51:07Speaker 3: what I'm saying, It's fair even if you live in
- 51:09Speaker 3: a nice part of.
- 51:09Speaker 2: Baltimore, or like I had a playhouse downtown, like.
- 51:13Speaker 3: You five minutes away from things on every block. You
- 51:17Speaker 3: know what I'm saying, You five minutes away from getting
- 51:19Speaker 3: ribbed or shot or whatever. And I just never know.
- 51:23Speaker 3: Because I was from there, I never looked at it
- 51:25Speaker 3: like that, like I just was used to that. But
- 51:27Speaker 3: I was me living in those spaces, and so I
- 51:29Speaker 3: had a lot of energy coming from me from every
- 51:32Speaker 3: different angle.
- 51:34Speaker 2: While I would go and do a show, fans this.
- 51:37Speaker 3: And this and that, I'm going back to Baltimore and
- 51:39Speaker 3: so I'm living I saw myself kind of like at
- 51:44Speaker 3: eighteen years old, getting into things that Mario shouldn't be
- 51:47Speaker 3: getting into, you know what I'm saying, but nobody knows,
- 51:51Speaker 3: like what just like dealing with the wrong people, you
- 51:53Speaker 3: know what I'm saying, and just like really allow of
- 51:58Speaker 3: certain energies to be around me that that I was
- 52:03Speaker 3: comfortable with, but that wasn't healthy for me. And so
- 52:05Speaker 3: I started my energie shows. My passion for music started
- 52:08Speaker 3: doing the like you know, even though I was still
- 52:11Speaker 3: putting out music, I wasn't as like it was like
- 52:13Speaker 3: autopilot for me. It was like I'm doing this because
- 52:16Speaker 3: of the job, not because I love it.
- 52:18Speaker 1: Yeah, I was gonna say, I was curious to see
- 52:20Speaker 1: if you ended up being like, for lack of a
- 52:22Speaker 1: better word, like two personalities because you have this superstardom
- 52:25Speaker 1: and then you have Mario that's coming from Baltimore that's
- 52:28Speaker 1: dealing with like say family issues or you know, personal
- 52:33Speaker 1: definitely trying to deal with that.
- 52:35Speaker 2: I would say one hundred percent, one hundred percent right.
- 52:37Speaker 1: And are you writing music at the time, like throughout
- 52:40Speaker 1: your car or you just singing or not just singing,
- 52:42Speaker 1: but like are you because it's to me, it sounds
- 52:45Speaker 1: like when you say you went numb, Like, are is
- 52:47Speaker 1: there an outlet for you to express your feelings?
- 52:50Speaker 3: Because I was in a major label system and it
- 52:53Speaker 3: was more just about fighting that next hit.
- 52:55Speaker 2: I didn't have a voice really, and so it was like.
- 52:59Speaker 3: Any record it I was writing, whatever I was doing
- 53:01Speaker 3: that was making me feel it was always like, ah,
- 53:04Speaker 3: that's not it okay, and then oh, go work with
- 53:06Speaker 3: this writer.
- 53:07Speaker 2: It's just like it made me start hating the industry.
- 53:10Speaker 1: I kind of like, I was like, it's actually kind
- 53:13Speaker 1: of cool to hear you say that, only because you
- 53:15Speaker 1: can actually see like your environment still peeking through. Even
- 53:19Speaker 1: though like even.
- 53:20Speaker 3: Just like I was like Bottimore, just like I was
- 53:23Speaker 3: like this like R and B pop kid to everybody,
- 53:27Speaker 3: but my real life it was like.
- 53:29Speaker 2: Like you're like streets.
- 53:31Speaker 3: It was like I was seeing so much crazy shit
- 53:33Speaker 3: and it's like but I never really talked about it.
- 53:35Speaker 3: I just knew I should because when I first got signed,
- 53:38Speaker 3: it's like I got signed by like like the biggest
- 53:41Speaker 3: execs to ever live, and so like I learned through
- 53:45Speaker 3: artist development how to be perfect, yeah, how to say
- 53:49Speaker 3: the right shit interviews, how to be I never really
- 53:52Speaker 3: talked about my real life, No one never really knew
- 53:54Speaker 3: my real life, you know what I'm saying.
- 53:56Speaker 1: So I know as a fan, and you literally look
- 53:58Speaker 1: like the perfect cookie cutter, like you know, like you
- 54:03Speaker 1: came from this little Cosby household and this.
- 54:06Speaker 3: And the and it's crazy because it's like the soul
- 54:10Speaker 3: in my voice told a different story. Yeah, but my
- 54:12Speaker 3: image was like and it was like when I started
- 54:15Speaker 3: to want to be more memes, like, it was always
- 54:18Speaker 3: like no, no, And so I just stopped.
- 54:22Speaker 2: I just stopped.
- 54:22Speaker 3: At a certain point, I just I stopped. I just
- 54:25Speaker 3: wanted to live life and be away from everything. And
- 54:28Speaker 3: so that's when I'm I moved to Bottomore and that
- 54:31Speaker 3: probably the stopping part probably happened between like the ages
- 54:35Speaker 3: like twenty three and twenty seven. So I moved to
- 54:39Speaker 3: LA and I started a whole other spiritual journey. I
- 54:44Speaker 3: went through something that in Baltimore. I went to it
- 54:46Speaker 3: through a situation with my mom and it was it
- 54:49Speaker 3: came out news but it was obviously it was fixed
- 54:51Speaker 3: and all of that stuff, like.
- 54:53Speaker 2: And after that, I was like, I'm not letting, I'm not.
- 54:56Speaker 3: It was like I would come home and like at
- 54:59Speaker 3: the time she had a spot and spot on the
- 55:02Speaker 3: spot and I would go over.
- 55:04Speaker 2: There sometimes and then be like random niggas and I
- 55:06Speaker 2: was like she being in the bathroom doing what she do,
- 55:09Speaker 2: Like you know what I'm saying.
- 55:10Speaker 3: It got to the point where I started becoming her
- 55:13Speaker 3: protector and I was put my life in danger.
- 55:16Speaker 2: And it's a lot.
- 55:17Speaker 3: It was just it was a lot of things. It
- 55:18Speaker 3: was the people I was saying, it was a lot,
- 55:20Speaker 3: and I just saw I won't say the devil because
- 55:23Speaker 3: I don't believe in that. I believe in causing effect,
- 55:27Speaker 3: and I believe in the proximity and circumstances. But these
- 55:30Speaker 3: circumstances were causing the frequencies that I was attracting to
- 55:34Speaker 3: get closer and closer and closer to the point where
- 55:37Speaker 3: I found myself in situations that I couldn't get out
- 55:41Speaker 3: of and I was like, I got to get out
- 55:42Speaker 3: of here or else I'm not going.
- 55:43Speaker 2: To make it. I can't. I had to leave Baltimore. Yeah,
- 55:47Speaker 2: But it was everything. Everything.
- 55:50Speaker 3: It was my comfort zone because it's what I knew
- 55:54Speaker 3: is where I felt comfortable, and.
- 55:57Speaker 1: It was kind of like a place where you could
- 55:58Speaker 1: kind of be yourself right without that.
- 56:03Speaker 3: But it was also it also hurt me in my
- 56:06Speaker 3: career at that time, because I wasn't moving around with
- 56:09Speaker 3: other artists and my peers and doing certain days because.
- 56:11Speaker 2: I just I just didn't. I felt I just felt
- 56:15Speaker 2: that felt like it wasn't real. It wasn't for me.
- 56:17Speaker 1: So how are you surviving financially?
- 56:19Speaker 2: Though?
- 56:20Speaker 1: Are you like living off?
- 56:23Speaker 2: The money was good?
- 56:24Speaker 1: Okay?
- 56:24Speaker 3: Like I was doing shows, I was still you feel
- 56:27Speaker 3: me like the money was good.
- 56:29Speaker 1: So you decide to up and leave too, and you
- 56:32Speaker 1: choose of all places, you choose l A. Yeah, okay,
- 56:36Speaker 1: I have one in LA when I came.
- 56:38Speaker 2: Yeah, l A. The weather. No, it's not even that,
- 56:43Speaker 2: It's like, it's about what you built for. I really
- 56:46Speaker 2: believe that.
- 56:47Speaker 3: It's like if you if you understand no better, nowhere
- 56:51Speaker 3: in the world is safe from your r dements. You
- 56:54Speaker 3: can go to Bali or go somewhere. You still got
- 56:56Speaker 3: to face your ship, you can't.
- 56:58Speaker 2: You know.
- 56:59Speaker 3: And I think like places you go which just highlight
- 57:02Speaker 3: things even more, yeah, and hwh like and make you
- 57:06Speaker 3: become more of a alchemist in your own life. And
- 57:09Speaker 3: for me, because I had practiced so much in Baltimore,
- 57:13Speaker 3: moving to LA wasn't enoughing I'm moving to LA at
- 57:15Speaker 3: twenty four, and I'm.
- 57:16Speaker 2: Like, oh no, bro, I'm good. I don't want no coke.
- 57:20Speaker 3: Oh no, I don't do that type of show. I
- 57:21Speaker 3: see this shit, giring got everything. I already seen this shit.
- 57:24Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, that fact. I might be able to make
- 57:26Speaker 3: some money off here, Like, but I ain't go ahead,
- 57:28Speaker 3: like you feel me?
- 57:29Speaker 2: But I didn't go that, Yeah, like I ain't you
- 57:31Speaker 2: feel me?
- 57:32Speaker 1: So so now you're in LA. You're you're in LA.
- 57:35Speaker 1: Are you signed to a label? You're doing independent? What
- 57:38Speaker 1: are you doing?
- 57:39Speaker 2: I'm still sign? No, I'm still signed at this time.
- 57:42Speaker 2: I'm still sign.
- 57:43Speaker 3: But I just wasn't actively going to the studio and
- 57:47Speaker 3: I just was living my life doing whatever I wanted.
- 57:49Speaker 3: I was on another jerny. I was on I was
- 57:52Speaker 3: in a whole other space, you understand. Like I'm seeing
- 57:54Speaker 3: a different side of life than anybody news.
- 57:56Speaker 2: I'm like all.
- 57:58Speaker 3: The people that in my life. My I got friends
- 58:01Speaker 3: coming in and out of jail. I'm feeling exited. I'm
- 58:03Speaker 3: putting like it's like it's a lot going on, like
- 58:06Speaker 3: other family rbers around me like it was. But I'm
- 58:09Speaker 3: also seeing like the music side of things. So it's
- 58:12Speaker 3: like I'm in the middle somewhere like who am I?
- 58:15Speaker 2: Yeah? Who are you?
- 58:17Speaker 1: Well, I think because you're on two different extremes, you
- 58:19Speaker 1: have two completely different extremes of life kind of pulling
- 58:23Speaker 1: at you right exactly so. But the one that looks
- 58:25Speaker 1: good is telling you to kind of be fake.
- 58:27Speaker 3: And then the one, that one that is beneficial for
- 58:31Speaker 3: my finances and for maybe my opportunities in life, is
- 58:35Speaker 3: telling me You're gonna have to you know, you have
- 58:40Speaker 3: to to not be fakers there, but but be but
- 58:43Speaker 3: sacrifice your your truth.
- 58:46Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I would say that, And I'm gonna be
- 58:47Speaker 2: honest with you.
- 58:48Speaker 1: Sometimes your fucking truth is not pretty, yeah, And sometimes
- 58:51Speaker 1: you gotta face your truth in.
- 58:53Speaker 3: Order to get to your destiny and your higher self.
- 58:56Speaker 3: And that's what I had. And so when I when
- 58:58Speaker 3: I'm facing my truth, was also me not staying in
- 59:02Speaker 3: a place where I felt like, though I'm comfortable hearing
- 59:05Speaker 3: my family artists, it's taken from me. It's going to
- 59:09Speaker 3: destroy me, it's going to kill me. Yeah, I had
- 59:12Speaker 3: to leave. And so when I made that decision to leave,
- 59:16Speaker 3: it was final. It was no like hesitance. It was
- 59:19Speaker 3: like I'm out on this date. I'm leaving and So
- 59:22Speaker 3: when I left, moved to La and you know, I
- 59:28Speaker 3: had a new team and management and all that stuff,
- 59:30Speaker 3: but I was still finding myself. I was still fighting
- 59:32Speaker 3: min and I did like I did a couple of
- 59:34Speaker 3: movies and then I started, I start, I became a mystic.
- 59:41Speaker 3: So I started practicing, Like what's a mystic?
- 59:44Speaker 2: So during that time.
- 59:45Speaker 3: Of between fourteen and eighteen, I practiced Islam because it's
- 59:47Speaker 3: the family move was Muslim. So I practiced Islam for
- 59:50Speaker 3: four years, four and a half years, sooni, And after
- 59:54Speaker 3: that I started studying just different religions. I grew up
- 59:56Speaker 3: in a very Christian household, you know, Pentecostal was like,
- 1:00:01Speaker 3: you know, all of that soul.
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: But because I started seeing.
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: So much, I wanted to understand why people chose trauma
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: and why people chose to torture themselves, you know, because
- 1:00:17Speaker 3: that's what I saw growing up, Like why why?
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: And what is the other side look like? What does
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: death look like? What is death? What is the devil?
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: What is what is evil? What's like? What's what is
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: this ship?
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: Yeah, And so I started diving in.
- 1:00:31Speaker 3: I would go to this I would go to this
- 1:00:34Speaker 3: library called the melly Phall Philosophical Research Center.
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: And he had all types of book Melly P. Hall
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: it was.
- 1:00:40Speaker 3: He was a he was amazing, but he was also
- 1:00:43Speaker 3: a really good show and someone who shared a lot
- 1:00:46Speaker 3: of knowledge before he died on all types of things
- 1:00:48Speaker 3: in life.
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: And you know, I'm not one of those people who
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: are big.
- 1:00:52Speaker 3: Onto cult, but I do study the knowledge and study
- 1:00:56Speaker 3: things to understand where it had come from. A lot
- 1:00:58Speaker 3: of our a lot of these calls come from ancient
- 1:01:03Speaker 3: Egypt and all these other places that were way before
- 1:01:07Speaker 3: the relations that were created to control humanity or created right.
- 1:01:10Speaker 3: So in understanding that, I became a mystic right like
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: the likes of Prince and so we study everything to
- 1:01:19Speaker 3: understand that it's all one right.
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: So once I did that, it just.
- 1:01:24Speaker 3: Gave me a certain level of liberation and freedom that
- 1:01:27Speaker 3: I never felt in my life because I had something
- 1:01:29Speaker 3: that I understood why humans were imperfect, and I understood
- 1:01:34Speaker 3: why the journey is yours to take and why your
- 1:01:39Speaker 3: decisions and the proximity to your three sixty is so
- 1:01:43Speaker 3: important to what's going to happen in your life immediately
- 1:01:48Speaker 3: based upon also the decisions you make. And so when
- 1:01:50Speaker 3: I started practicing these things and then also taking detoxes
- 1:01:55Speaker 3: and like really practicing alchemy within myself. It immediately changed
- 1:02:01Speaker 3: my mindset and I was able to start being happier, right,
- 1:02:05Speaker 3: And I used to be very miserable and depressed and
- 1:02:09Speaker 3: I didn't understand a lot of things.
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: Can you just give me a definition of alchemy? I'm sorry,
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: said it like three times online.
- 1:02:16Speaker 2: In my opinion, I don't.
- 1:02:18Speaker 3: In my opinion, alchemy is a practice of putting different resources.
- 1:02:32Speaker 3: You can use alchemy in anything. Everything is alchomy. Food
- 1:02:34Speaker 3: is alchemy because you're taking different minerals and i'm sorry,
- 1:02:37Speaker 3: different ingredients and putting together to create something cause and effect.
- 1:02:42Speaker 3: So alchemy is causing effect of movement and physics and
- 1:02:49Speaker 3: all these different things into one.
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: Right, and then we are alchemy. Right.
- 1:02:53Speaker 3: The relationships is alchemy, Like how does the alchemy of
- 1:02:55Speaker 3: your relationship work? You can also change it at any moment,
- 1:02:58Speaker 3: So it is your will of intention that creates the
- 1:03:02Speaker 3: actual outcome, right, based upon a course of decisions and actions, search,
- 1:03:08Speaker 3: so forth, and so on.
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: I'm just curious, like whenever I see someone I guess
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: seek truth, I have to wonder, like there had to
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: have been some some for lack of better word tipping point.
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: That's not the words a lot of points that I
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: there was something that had you literally take a deep
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: dive though there had to been something that it was
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: just like a culmination, like.
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: A combination of everything.
- 1:03:32Speaker 3: And I mean all of this happened before my mom
- 1:03:34Speaker 3: even passed, Like I became an alcoeme a mystic way
- 1:03:37Speaker 3: before my mom passed. But like I would say, seeing
- 1:03:41Speaker 3: her on her deathbed and having an overdose, you know
- 1:03:44Speaker 3: what I'm saying. When I was seventeen years old, I
- 1:03:47Speaker 3: was in Europe performance away and I came back to
- 1:03:49Speaker 3: this and they asked me.
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: To do I want to pull the plug? And I
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: told her and she was in a vestable for two months. Wow.
- 1:03:56Speaker 3: Seeing my grandmother pass away, seeing one of my friends
- 1:03:59Speaker 3: get killed, seeing other friends get life in jail for
- 1:04:01Speaker 3: killing people, like just so many things that being in
- 1:04:04Speaker 3: the music industry and all of the ups and downs
- 1:04:06Speaker 3: of it, and like understanding all of that, Like all
- 1:04:10Speaker 3: of these things made me dive deeper and to also
- 1:04:13Speaker 3: get to know different types of people.
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: When I moved to LA, I met a lot of.
- 1:04:15Speaker 3: Different people, like people in the industry. I knew people
- 1:04:18Speaker 3: with the spiritual communities. I knew people that were healers,
- 1:04:20Speaker 3: I knew people that work. There's a melting pot out here,
- 1:04:23Speaker 3: you know, how it is, right, And I think this
- 1:04:25Speaker 3: is a space because of where it lays. You know,
- 1:04:28Speaker 3: it's also a testing ground. It's a space where both
- 1:04:32Speaker 3: light and dark meets and you will find what you
- 1:04:37Speaker 3: need to work on and work through, you know, here
- 1:04:41Speaker 3: in a lot of ways, because there's a lot of
- 1:04:43Speaker 3: open It's a lot of open minds here, and sometimes
- 1:04:47Speaker 3: open minds don't have limits, and so you can literally.
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: Dive into whatever frequency you want to dive into.
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: So now with your career, the way, where where can
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: we Where are you taking us?
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: Real man? That's that's where are you taking us? Jude?
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: I have a feeling that if you're doing press and
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: you're doing you're definitely taking us something.
- 1:05:11Speaker 3: Right now, I'm really just trying to tap people into
- 1:05:14Speaker 3: my frequency, like like you know, I don't like doing
- 1:05:17Speaker 3: interviews within just anybody, you know, Yeah, you know, But
- 1:05:25Speaker 3: I would say in my in my personal I'll say
- 1:05:27Speaker 3: that my life is like multi dimensional, most of all
- 1:05:33Speaker 3: lives are. But I'm saying speaking for myself, and so
- 1:05:36Speaker 3: now where I'm taking myself.
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: Is I've been focusing more on business.
- 1:05:39Speaker 3: I've been focusing more on, uh, being more social in
- 1:05:44Speaker 3: my business relationships and like pulling things together and just
- 1:05:47Speaker 3: being a boss and also being a creative but mixing
- 1:05:51Speaker 3: those two together and finding the stride like like you know,
- 1:05:55Speaker 3: long distance runners, like finding a marathon where you're like
- 1:05:57Speaker 3: in a stride and things are going in.
- 1:06:01Speaker 2: The direction of your will intentions.
- 1:06:03Speaker 3: So that's what I've been focusing on in that part
- 1:06:05Speaker 3: of my life, bringing the right you know, people together,
- 1:06:08Speaker 3: reaching out, working with more of my peers, and just
- 1:06:10Speaker 3: like opening up more in that way.
- 1:06:11Speaker 2: Because for a minute, I.
- 1:06:12Speaker 3: Was just like I'm just doing everything in all hours
- 1:06:15Speaker 3: is but it's like nah, Like it's a blessing to
- 1:06:18Speaker 3: be able to work with other artists and do other things.
- 1:06:20Speaker 3: So like in that space where I feel like God
- 1:06:25Speaker 3: and Source wants me to go is really international affairs
- 1:06:33Speaker 3: that have to do with and working on a lot
- 1:06:35Speaker 3: of great then with the advancement of our community and
- 1:06:39Speaker 3: investment of us, but are really high levels. And I'm
- 1:06:45Speaker 3: a very creative person. I'm a generator, so I like
- 1:06:49Speaker 3: to generate ideas and actually see them manifests. So we
- 1:06:53Speaker 3: talk about museums, we talk about hotels, we talk about schools,
- 1:06:57Speaker 3: we talk about and all these different things.
- 1:06:59Speaker 2: You know that I'm working with a great group of.
- 1:07:03Speaker 3: People in Ghana and the Middle East, and you know,
- 1:07:08Speaker 3: all these things are gonna help where I'm from.
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: You know, as you know, we live in America.
- 1:07:12Speaker 3: So this system here is is it's kind of stuck
- 1:07:16Speaker 3: because we've already it could get better. However, there's just
- 1:07:24Speaker 3: there's just there's so many systems that would have to
- 1:07:29Speaker 3: be reset. We don't know exactly how it's want to
- 1:07:33Speaker 3: be reset, but I do think it is going to
- 1:07:34Speaker 3: be reset. But I just want to be in front
- 1:07:36Speaker 3: of it. And so it's like on a spiritual level,
- 1:07:38Speaker 3: I've been told to put certain things in place. So
- 1:07:41Speaker 3: that's where I'm going and it'll show. I'm gonna share
- 1:07:44Speaker 3: a lot about what I'm doing. But musically, that's a
- 1:07:46Speaker 3: passion of mine. I'll always do music, But my real
- 1:07:49Speaker 3: passion is, i would say biospiritual studies and spirit psychology.
- 1:08:06Speaker 2: I'm not a passions.
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: I'm super interested.
- 1:08:09Speaker 3: Yeah, So I'm dimin as a spaces to find out
- 1:08:12Speaker 3: how to kind of merge those into like music and
- 1:08:15Speaker 3: other experiences. That's where I'm and that I mean, I
- 1:08:18Speaker 3: think that a lot of people are reading more or
- 1:08:20Speaker 3: listen to podcasts more and like just really trying to
- 1:08:23Speaker 3: understand their purpose more.
- 1:08:24Speaker 2: And by me living my previous and.
- 1:08:28Speaker 3: Also share my story more, I feel like it's gonna
- 1:08:31Speaker 3: do what it needs to do if guy's gonna use me.
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: However, I feel like, yeah, I kind of used to
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: have the when I for me, I feel like I
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: kind of am a little different when it comes to
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: like I'm an entrepreneur by by nature, but I used
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: to always be the type that like to make other
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: field people feel comfortable. I put my light under the table,
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: and I remember even in scripture they say, like, you know,
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: put your light on top of the table. By you
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: doing that, you let other people and to be more
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: comfortable to let their life shine.
- 1:09:03Speaker 2: What do you feel like light is? My darkness is not?
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: No, that was real slick, That was like no.
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: Where light is like light is because it's like okay,
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: well you say push everything.
- 1:09:17Speaker 3: I feel like sometimes I feel like light is a
- 1:09:20Speaker 3: combination of everything because.
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: It's like in order for you to be the light,
- 1:09:28Speaker 2: you also have to be honest. You have to be
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: true to yourself. Right, So.
- 1:09:34Speaker 3: You don't always choose your experiences in life. You don't
- 1:09:36Speaker 3: choose Sometimes they say, oh, you choose your prayers. But
- 1:09:39Speaker 3: even with that being said, you still have to go
- 1:09:42Speaker 3: through the actual maze of healing and of going through
- 1:09:45Speaker 3: the drama and then healing whatever it is. So that darkness,
- 1:09:49Speaker 3: as you would call it, is really just contrast. It
- 1:09:51Speaker 3: might pain, yeah, it's contrast, right, And so all of
- 1:09:55Speaker 3: it kind of like, I'm not saying.
- 1:09:57Speaker 2: That there'sn't a difference between light and dark.
- 1:09:59Speaker 3: I'm just saying that it's kind of it's a combination
- 1:10:01Speaker 3: of both. And when you show up in your truth
- 1:10:05Speaker 3: without judgment, it then feels so much like love, because
- 1:10:10Speaker 3: non judgment towards yourself is love, right, And then that
- 1:10:12Speaker 3: in itself feels like light because it feels like welcoming.
- 1:10:16Speaker 3: It feels like the way yeah life feels like the way.
- 1:10:21Speaker 2: Yeah right, I agree.
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: I will say I mean we'll cut and probably have
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: to talk off book camera, but I will say this,
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: I think I'm getting old. I'm getting older, and I'm
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: starting to discover that finding your truth has got to
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: be one of the hardest things you can do. And
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: I say that because sometimes we believe our truths is
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: a some of our actions, and I believe that sometimes
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: some of your actions can be just a autopilot response
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: from our previous experiences.
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: So like you if you.
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: Oh you got it, Okay, I don't need know like
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: Rick's but yeah, that's how I honestly feel like the
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: more I get older, the more I'm like, what is
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: my truth truth? You know, because I'm a wild ball,
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: like a wild card. But at the same time, it's
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: like like when I look at other people, I'm like,
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: is that who you are?
- 1:11:09Speaker 2: Or is that just some of your experiences?
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: Like, you know, like real conversations and lo, I love
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: that because I'm all for this. Yeah, I love these
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: types of conversations.
- 1:11:21Speaker 2: I never to I never get to have these conversations.
- 1:11:24Speaker 3: By the way, this is amazing because it's important, and
- 1:11:26Speaker 3: I think it's really important for us to start having
- 1:11:28Speaker 3: you know, there's a lot of great people out here
- 1:11:30Speaker 3: like having, you know, high level conversations like nineteen Keys
- 1:11:34Speaker 3: who say, like, you know, and these it's the time
- 1:11:37Speaker 3: for that, right, It's the time for evolution. It's the
- 1:11:40Speaker 3: time for taking charge in your own life so that
- 1:11:43Speaker 3: those people that are supposed to be on that journey
- 1:11:45Speaker 3: with you. Y'all team up and y'all create, Like we're
- 1:11:48Speaker 3: all pro creating, whether good or bad whatever, you know
- 1:11:53Speaker 3: you we coexist in a world full of contrasts, and
- 1:11:56Speaker 3: so at the end of the day, we got to
- 1:11:58Speaker 3: find our tribe.
- 1:11:59Speaker 2: That's the main goal. Music is great, entertainment is great.
- 1:12:02Speaker 2: All of that shit is amazing. We love. It's magic, right,
- 1:12:05Speaker 2: because we come with ideas.
- 1:12:06Speaker 3: We're going to the studio. I was at a studio
- 1:12:08Speaker 3: to six in the morning. We go in here, we
- 1:12:10Speaker 3: create these ideas. Sometimes I create from spaces that are
- 1:12:14Speaker 3: very conscious and aware, and sometimes I just create from
- 1:12:16Speaker 3: whatever energy I'm feeling.
- 1:12:18Speaker 2: But when I listen back, I can tell which wit
- 1:12:20Speaker 2: is what?
- 1:12:20Speaker 3: Right, Yeah, And so that's don't don't fall in love
- 1:12:23Speaker 3: with your creation so much so that you feel like
- 1:12:26Speaker 3: that's who you are.
- 1:12:27Speaker 2: That's a fragment of who you are saying. And so
- 1:12:31Speaker 2: that's what I had to learn.
- 1:12:32Speaker 3: Also, it's like, I don't have to be attached to
- 1:12:34Speaker 3: what people feel like is rio, So if I stay attested,
- 1:12:37Speaker 3: it's probably gonna make me depressed because how can I
- 1:12:39Speaker 3: have a grow like that? Right Exactly, So, I even
- 1:12:42Speaker 3: in relationships or in friendships.
- 1:12:44Speaker 2: I try not to fall in love with my creations.
- 1:12:46Speaker 3: I try to experience it, try to perform it at
- 1:12:49Speaker 3: the highest level. I can understand why it's there, and
- 1:12:52Speaker 3: then from there I can decide, Okay, does this go
- 1:12:55Speaker 3: with me?
- 1:12:55Speaker 2: And how far?
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: I feel like we're a twin twin Solis in that
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: like I I feel like one hundred percent agree with you.
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: So family, So we're gonna have to close out this episode.
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: Is there where can people like keep up with you?
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: Catch you? Are you on Instagram? So we could catch
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: you at it at.
