- 0:47episode, please leave me a review. This is your
- 0:51weekly update segment of this episode where I
- 0:55catch you up on what's been going on in my life
- 0:58This week y 'all we me my roommate as in we we
- 1:02went out to Charlotte went to the mega Moroni
- 1:04concert and let me tell y 'all She was amazing
- 1:07life like absolutely amazing life a wonderful
- 1:11performer. I love every glittery outfit I would
- 1:14love to be mega Moroni when I grow up Literally
- 1:18was like, how can I become Megan Moroney the
- 1:20whole time I was there and every song hits it
- 1:23hits so hard I loved it Yeah Okay, um, if there's
- 1:28anything else I'm trying to think I don't think
- 1:30I have any other updates except for I went to
- 1:32Charlotte and now I'm exhausted Oh, we did stop
- 1:35at this little spot on the way home called peaches
- 1:37and cream and it's like a little tiny farmers
- 1:39market that's also an ice cream shop and It was
- 1:42amazing. It was delicious. Was it as good as
- 1:44my favorite little sunny skies? No, but it's
- 1:47definitely a close second. I really enjoyed it
- 1:50and I've been thinking about it ever since. And
- 1:52they had the cutest little spot to take pictures
- 1:54and you could tell it was definitely more like
- 1:56a locals joint, but such a vibe. So cute and
- 1:59all the grandparents were there with their grandkids
- 2:01and I just loved it. It was so freaking cute.
- 2:05Okay, what is in? gosh what's in is honestly
- 2:12i am very big on living real and authentically
- 2:17and i had some not great news shared with me
- 2:21and so it has disrupted how i've been living
- 2:25especially the last few days so what has been
- 2:28in is extra bible time and extra prayer time
- 2:31uh because it's not my life that was shared with
- 2:35me and I don't get to share talk about it right
- 2:39now and it's hard. It's weighing on me. So what's
- 2:42in is extra Jesus time. And what is out is uh
- 2:47honestly uh me minding my business. Apparently
- 2:50that's out. I asked too many questions and I
- 2:52got answers I was not wanting to was not looking
- 2:55for did not want. So what is out is me minding
- 2:59my business for now and yeah anyways That was
- 3:05really heavy all of a sudden. So sorry about
- 3:08that. But I don't really have anything else that's
- 3:10in or out for you. I did get some new dresses
- 3:12in and they're really cute on a positive note.
- 3:15I don't know. I don't have anything like super
- 3:18upbeat right now because this is life and this
- 3:20is what life looks like, right y 'all? So anyways,
- 3:24what is also in is calling your best friend and
- 3:26asking for advice. That's really big. And leaning
- 3:29on other girls who love Jesus. I really appreciate
- 3:31having women in my life who also love Jesus authentically.
- 3:34and not in a performative way um and yeah so
- 3:39being able to have real raw conversations with
- 3:43them especially when something this hard has
- 3:45hit into my life um and it's again business that
- 3:49i don't get to share because it's not my own
- 3:51anyways we're gonna go ahead and dive into today's
- 3:54episode All right, all right, all right. This
- 4:03week we are talking about boundaries with friends.
- 4:06Are you ready? Because I sure am. I know. So
- 4:09we did part one, which was boundaries and foundations.
- 4:13This week it's boundaries with friends. And then
- 4:16the next week we'll have a super fun conversation
- 4:18about boundaries with family. But let's talk
- 4:22about our friends. Setting boundaries with friends
- 4:24can be easy if you're at the beginning of a friendship.
- 4:27You both are feeling out the vibes and it's easier
- 4:30to say, I go to bed at 10pm so I don't respond
- 4:33to texts, sorry, or bringing up a conversation
- 4:36like, ugh, I hate it when people say x -y -z
- 4:38to me. But bro, it is hard to set boundaries
- 4:42in existing friendships. Like, it can hurt people's
- 4:45feelings or throw the vibes completely off. When
- 4:48you have a new friend, you can navigate the conversations
- 4:51you do or don't want to have. You get to let
- 4:54each other know what you do or don't like. If
- 4:57you're a caller, text person, a planner, or a
- 5:01last minute type of girl, sometimes there are
- 5:03things about our past that we would rather forget
- 5:05and since they don't know the lore, they don't
- 5:08even know to bring it up and it can be easier
- 5:10to share your hopes and dreams with a new friend.
- 5:13Pre -existing friendships are something else
- 5:15though. As we change and grow, they can struggle
- 5:17to accept it. Sometimes they meet you in a short
- 5:20phase and you've completely changed since then.
- 5:22Maybe you used to be a text all day kind of girl
- 5:24and now you're a phone call girly. Maybe they're
- 5:27used to their own world and never paid attention
- 5:30to you and your wants and your needs and you
- 5:32just learned to be okay with it. I have story
- 5:35after story of people struggling with my boundaries
- 5:37and you're about to hear some of them, so buckle
- 5:40up. In the previous episode, I told you about
- 5:43the running late roommate and how at the time,
- 5:46I was an on time type of girl. What I didn't
- 5:49tell you is eventually I got tired of waiting
- 5:52on her, especially when I made it clear my intentions
- 5:54were to leave at a certain time. And I did tell
- 5:57her I would leave without her. And you know what?
- 5:59One day, the clock struck 12 and I started to
- 6:02pull out of the driveway. She came running out
- 6:05of the house, down the driveway for me. I stopped
- 6:07the car, she jumped in and said, I didn't know
- 6:10you were serious. I said, now you do. Okay, so
- 6:13was I scared she'd be mad at me for leaving her
- 6:15if she hadn't come out on time? Um, yes. Definitely.
- 6:20But those are her emotions and feelings, not
- 6:22mine, and I'm not responsible for them. But I
- 6:25also had a right to be upset with her if she
- 6:27was late, but it was on me for waiting on her.
- 6:30Next story. I had a friend, now an ex -friend,
- 6:34who decided who I was. She'd announce it to anyone
- 6:37and everyone that I was a loud, fun party girl.
- 6:41That I knew how to get down and get messy. That
- 6:44every man wanted me. I was very far from this.
- 6:48But I allowed her to live in this world of who
- 6:50I was in her mind and never corrected her. Ugh,
- 6:53I wish I had. Yes, I was at the bars, having
- 6:57a drink and dancing, but I was never drunk. I
- 6:59wasn't making out with strangers. At that time.
- 7:03And the guys I was talking to were people I knew
- 7:07pretty well and they definitely were not into
- 7:09me. Things progressed with this friend. She'd
- 7:11stalk my location and show up at my dad's house,
- 7:14uninvited, at 2am when I'd just flown home from
- 7:16California. She'd hit on the guys I was interested
- 7:19in and continued to announce what a fun party
- 7:22girl I was. Meanwhile, I'm living the quiet life
- 7:25with my dog working at a non -profit and managing
- 7:27a lash studio. Y 'all, this girl got married
- 7:30and I was invited to the wedding. Leading up
- 7:32to this, time and time again, I tried to set
- 7:35boundaries and reset expectations, but she could
- 7:38not get on board. At her wedding, she continued
- 7:40to make a big deal of who she thought I was and
- 7:44was so upset I wouldn't show up as the fun party
- 7:46girl she thought I was and how she wanted me
- 7:49to be at her wedding. And she tried to set me
- 7:52up with a 50 year old man because quote unquote
- 7:55he has money. Uh, gross. And then after that,
- 7:59she threw man after man at me. And as I turned
- 8:02each one down, she got mad at me. Here's a little
- 8:05thing about me. When I've had an awkward night,
- 8:07especially with men, I love to put it on my private
- 8:10Snapchat story and tell my closest friends and
- 8:12family the horrors of my encounters. So that's
- 8:15exactly what I did. Well, guess what? She saw
- 8:18it. Why she was watching my Snapchat stories
- 8:20on her wedding night? I have no idea, but she
- 8:23sent me a text saying, glad to know you had such
- 8:25a terrible time at my wedding. And I said, I
- 8:28did, and it's because you had no respect for
- 8:30my boundaries. I was not about to let her make
- 8:33me feel bad about my boundaries being crossed,
- 8:36being made to look like something I'm not and
- 8:38my feelings being hurt. My feelings were valid.
- 8:41Did I have to remind myself that a couple hundred
- 8:43times? Yes, but they were valid nonetheless.
- 8:46Now, you might think she didn't know she was
- 8:49crossing boundaries, but y 'all, at one point
- 8:52in the night, she looked at me and said, I can
- 8:54see you're uncomfortable and I'm loving it. Yeah,
- 8:57that did it for me. I was just waiting to leave
- 8:59at that point. After all that and years and years
- 9:03of trying to quietly correct her and her opinion
- 9:05of who I am, I gave up. I unfollowed on social
- 9:08media and never talked to her again. Yes, we
- 9:11had years of friendship under our belt. But when
- 9:13you end a friendship like that, you're creating
- 9:15space for a healthy new one. Okay, next. I have
- 9:20a friend. We've only been friends for a couple
- 9:23years, and we've gotten to be pretty good friends.
- 9:26And just like most friendships, we go through
- 9:28phases where we spend a lot of time together
- 9:30and then no time together. One night, she called
- 9:34me out in front of a small group in a joking
- 9:36way. The joke made me sad and feel insecure,
- 9:39which is not how a friend should make you feel.
- 9:41So when the group ended and everyone left I sent
- 9:44her a text asking if she was open to feedback
- 9:46as a friend She said yes, and I let her know
- 9:49how the joke made me feel she apologized not
- 9:52right away But a day or two later and let me
- 9:55know she wouldn't do it again a few months later
- 9:57I said something that upset her and she shared
- 10:00the same feedback to me Because of this we're
- 10:04able to be friends and have a healthy friendship
- 10:06We know what the other one's expectations of
- 10:09us are, and we don't overstep each other's boundaries
- 10:12by our words. Did I feel weird and worried to
- 10:15reach out and share with her the joke had hurt
- 10:17my feelings? Yes, absolutely. But I could have
- 10:21not said anything and left space for her to keep
- 10:23saying it, or I could deal with it head on and
- 10:26let her decide what type of friend she wanted
- 10:28to be to me and vice versa. I also have a bestie
- 10:33here in Wilmington. She didn't know me before
- 10:35I moved here. And there are things I just never
- 10:38think to bring up about my past. I remember sitting
- 10:40in her apartment and something came up about
- 10:42an ex. I don't remember how it came up on my
- 10:45end, but she looked at me and said, yes, I've
- 10:48been waiting for you to bring this up. And I
- 10:50said, what, you knew? She said, yeah, your brother
- 10:53told me last time we were in Raleigh and I didn't
- 10:56want to overstep by asking, but WTF, you were
- 10:59engaged? I was like, yeah, lol, here's the tea.
- 11:04I appreciated that so much, she waited for me
- 11:07to bring it up, not making it a part of my identity.
- 11:10Having the conversation and then being done,
- 11:12not dwelling on it or making a huge deal out
- 11:15of it, because she could tell that I didn't want
- 11:17to and she respected that as my friend. So after
- 11:20all these stories and how I've had friends cross
- 11:23boundaries and respect boundaries, let's look
- 11:25at what the Bible says about friendships and
- 11:27what they should look like. Therefore, encourage
- 11:32one another and build up one another just as
- 11:35you are doing. Hang out with friends that encourage
- 11:38you and build you up. Don't hang out with people
- 11:40that tell anyone that will listen that you're
- 11:42a party girl if it's not true to your character
- 11:44just because it seems like an accomplishment
- 11:46to them. Romans 12, 10 says, love one another
- 11:50with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in
- 11:53showing honor. Have friends that respect the
- 11:56lines you put in place, that don't push them
- 11:58or question them, but accept them and that they
- 12:01are there. Colossians 3 .13 says, bear with each
- 12:04other and forgive one another if any of you have
- 12:07grievances against someone. Forgive as the Lord
- 12:10forgave you. To have a healthy boundary, you
- 12:12should be able to talk with each other about
- 12:14the things that offend or hurt you. Forgive and
- 12:17move on. It shouldn't be something that just
- 12:19has to be accepted and ignored. Ecclesiastes
- 12:234 10 says, If either of them falls down, one
- 12:26can help the other up, but pity anyone who falls
- 12:29and has no one to help them up. This goes back
- 12:32to having friends that want to see you grow and
- 12:34change for the better, will hold your hand and
- 12:36pull you up when needed. Proverbs 17 9 says,
- 12:40whoever would foster love covers over an offense,
- 12:42but whoever repeats the matter separates close
- 12:44friends. We're talking about those who don't
- 12:47respect your boundaries. The ones that say okay
- 12:50and act like they understood, but continue to
- 12:52try and push or cross those lines you've set.
- 12:55From this point, I'm going to cite Henry Cloud's
- 12:58book on boundaries. He talks about four different
- 13:00types of friends and the comments that cause
- 13:03the lack of boundaries in those friendships.
- 13:06We won't dive too deep into this book, but I
- 13:08100 % recommend reading it for yourself if you
- 13:12find you need more guidance on having healthy
- 13:14friendships. The first friendship he talks about
- 13:17is the complacent -complacent friendship. These
- 13:21are the friendships where you both don't get
- 13:22too deep in what you like or dislike, and you
- 13:25each just want to make the other happy. You both
- 13:27can find yourselves being too nice and not honest
- 13:30enough, so you end up often doing things you
- 13:32don't enjoy or eating places you don't like for
- 13:35the sake of thinking you're making the other
- 13:37happy. The second friendship is complacent -aggressive
- 13:41-controller. In this friendship, you see the
- 13:44aggressive controller being annoyed that the
- 13:46complacent friend can't seem to make any choices
- 13:48for themselves or find out that the complacent
- 13:51friend didn't love the choice that the aggressive
- 13:53controller made, but didn't want to make them
- 13:55stressed or mad in the moment so they never spoke
- 13:58up. Often the complacent friend doesn't speak
- 14:01up and hopes to make life easy and be go with
- 14:03the flow, but the aggressive controller tends
- 14:05to be frustrated by this. I personally often
- 14:08find myself in complacent aggressive controller
- 14:11friendships. Me being the aggressive controller.
- 14:14I end up with friends that want to just people
- 14:16please and make me happy and go with the flow
- 14:18and when I ask them a decision or give them choices
- 14:21they say I'll do whatever you want to do. Sometimes
- 14:23I make a million choices a day especially as
- 14:25a hairstylist with clients. Sometimes if I'm
- 14:28asking you a question of where you want to eat
- 14:30or what you want to do, I'm genuinely curious
- 14:32because I want to be go with the flow. I don't
- 14:35want to have to make choices for everybody all
- 14:37the time. Or sometimes I truly don't know if
- 14:39I want to eat Mexican or have pizza that night
- 14:41and I really want you to choose which one you're
- 14:43craving. And if we choose pizza and you never
- 14:46spoke up and you were really craving a taco,
- 14:48I feel like I let you down and I get frustrated.
- 14:50But at the same time, I've definitely been part
- 14:53of the complacent -complacent friendship where
- 14:55we're both just trying to people please and make
- 14:57each other happy. Okay, friendship number three,
- 15:00complacent -manipulative controller. Oh boy,
- 15:04I have had people try to be the manipulative
- 15:06controller with me. In this friendship, the manipulative
- 15:10controller preys on the feelings of the complacent
- 15:12and bets on the complacent not only just being
- 15:15a people pleaser, but also that they would want
- 15:19to make the manipulative controller happy. The
- 15:21manipulator will tell them how badly they've
- 15:24been hurt or need them and that life isn't fair
- 15:27unless the complacent does whatever the manipulator
- 15:31needs to restore the balance and make life good
- 15:34again, to keep life peaceful. And four, the complacent
- 15:39non -responsive. I also have been prone towards
- 15:43being a non -responsive. The complacent friend
- 15:45yearns for friendship and feels that they often
- 15:48have to do all the work to keep the friendship
- 15:50going. The non -responsive is just that. They
- 15:53don't plan, they don't call, and they rarely
- 15:56respond. The complacent feels depressed, anxious,
- 15:59unimportant. Meanwhile, the non -responsive may
- 16:02feel overwhelmed by their friend's needs. My
- 16:05attachment style is dismissive -avoidant, so
- 16:07I feel really overwhelmed by my friend's needs
- 16:09sometimes. So Dr. Henry Cloud says we need to
- 16:12ask these questions when deciding 1. Which side
- 16:15of the friendship we are on and 2. What those
- 16:19boundaries might be that need to be set or enforced.
- 16:23Okay, what are the symptoms? Do you feel like
- 16:25you allowed something you shouldn't have? Do
- 16:27you feel controlled and resent it or pretty happy
- 16:30about the outcome, but you hate being pestered
- 16:33to make choices? Does your friendship feel like
- 16:35it's being taken for granted? Maybe you feel
- 16:38depressed for being neglected or you feel overwhelmed.
- 16:41What is the boundary conflict? Did you allow
- 16:43something to keep the peace? Struggle to set
- 16:46clear limits? Or maybe you struggle to see your
- 16:49friend's passive, supposedly clear limits. Maybe
- 16:53you come running every time you feel needed or
- 16:56that you owe them for their friendship. Lastly,
- 16:59do you take too much responsibility for the friendship?
- 17:02Or maybe not enough. Based on those answers,
- 17:05what do you need? Maybe you need to not come
- 17:07running every time you're called. Let that friend
- 17:10know that you actually hate that restaurant they
- 17:12keep dragging you to. Or maybe that you've been
- 17:15misread and you have no desire to go camping.
- 17:18Question number four, who needs to take ownership?
- 17:21You can never make someone else take ownership
- 17:23who isn't open to it in the first place, but
- 17:25you can set clear boundaries so that they can
- 17:27be held accountable in the future. Number five,
- 17:31what does putting those boundaries into practice
- 17:33look like? We've already talked a little bit
- 17:35about this and it comes down to you doing the
- 17:38work. Boundaries look different for each person,
- 17:41and can change from friendship to friendship,
- 17:43or with time. You don't have to be clear with
- 17:46what all your boundaries are from the get -go.
- 17:49Just like most of us, you will learn new boundaries
- 17:51based off of experiences. Boundaries aren't selfish,
- 17:54they aren't mean, they aren't harmful to others.
- 17:57Boundaries allow you to live a clear life, a
- 18:00safer life, and feel respected. We can't make
- 18:03people like us, respect us, and they are not
- 18:06responsible for how we feel, but we can set boundaries.
- 18:11Boundaries allow us to see who is safe emotionally
- 18:13or physically. They allow us to see who our real
- 18:16friends are and who's just using you. Boundaries
- 18:19let you grow and accept emotional responsibility
- 18:22for yourself and no one else's. Boundaries take
- 18:25away the heavy weight and set you free from wanting
- 18:28to make everyone happy or having to make all
- 18:31the decisions. feeling emotionally controlled
- 18:33or overwhelmed. Imagine a life where you don't
- 18:37sit in your car frustrated while waiting on that
- 18:39one friend who is always late while you think
- 18:41of all the other things you could be doing or
- 18:44feeling that your time isn't respected. How you
- 18:47might feel not being so easily emotionally controlled
- 18:50by those you're supposed to trust because they're
- 18:53your friends and their opinion matters to you
- 18:55or they clearly want their opinion to matter.
- 18:58Think how it might feel to have friends that
- 19:01give you space and respect the things you want
- 19:03to keep private, that don't try to emotionally
- 19:06manipulate you, that you can openly tell them
- 19:09you aren't interested in an activity and you
- 19:12know they won't be upset with you, and that you'll
- 19:14do something else or hang out another time. How
- 19:17good might that feel? And might I say freeing?
- 19:22Okay, we're gonna pray, but if you wanna hear
- 19:24the tea going on behind all those stories with
- 19:27the boundaries, especially the wedding one, I
- 19:30will happily spill at the end of this episode.
- 19:33Let's pray. Dear Jesus, thank you for giving
- 19:36us your manual on boundaries. Thank you for the
- 19:40verses of wisdom that are spoken into us and
- 19:42what to look for in healthy friendships. As asked
- 19:45that you give us encouragement to set boundaries,
- 19:48that you'll give us strength to hold firm to
- 19:50those boundaries, and that you'll give us wisdom
- 19:52on what those boundaries should be, and how to
- 19:54make friends that will respect those boundaries.
- 19:57I thank you for this opportunity to have healthier
- 20:00friendships, and this opportunity to seek you
- 20:03through this, and that we can be set free from
- 20:06harmful friendships, from friends that speak
- 20:08negatively into our life, from friends who decide
- 20:11who we are, that we get to be set free from people
- 20:14who... who don't respect our time and we don't
- 20:17feel respected by, that we get to be set free
- 20:19from people who want to control us emotionally
- 20:21because it gives them a power. Thank you for
- 20:24giving us biblical boundaries to have set that
- 20:28you have set so that we can live more freely
- 20:31in the world that we are living in today. And
- 20:34in your name, Jesus' name, amen. Ok guys, so
- 20:47you're here for the tea sesh. Ok, I think I paused
- 20:52this. Hopefully you can hear me alright. So the
- 20:55girl who got married, there was a lot that led
- 20:57up to that wedding. First off, let me just tell
- 20:59you about the wedding. I let her pick out what
- 21:01I was going to wear. She put me in my black skims
- 21:04dress in like 6 inch heels and it was backless
- 21:07and I swear I looked like a hooker. Ok? First
- 21:10off. Secondly, she purposely told this old man
- 21:14about me and set him at the head table with us
- 21:17because I was part of the bridal group. And I
- 21:20had no idea who he was. He genuinely wouldn't
- 21:23leave me alone. He knew that we were being set
- 21:25up and I did not. Okay, so imagine you have a
- 21:30bubbly 27 year old right next to you who's a
- 21:33super extroverted girl, just chit chatting, and
- 21:36you've been told that you guys are being set
- 21:37up. So you probably assume she's been told. Well,
- 21:40guess what? She wasn't told. She was told nothing.
- 21:42So I understand why he thinks I was interested.
- 21:45But then later that night, another man comes
- 21:47up to me that was not my type. At all possibly
- 21:52ever and low -key wasn't that nice which personality
- 21:55has a lot to do with it, too And people were
- 21:58like, oh he's gay. Oh, he's gay And then somebody
- 22:00else came up to me and was like yo like watch
- 22:02your back watch your drinks Make sure he doesn't
- 22:03roof you and then he was telling everybody he
- 22:05was coming home with me that night like sir No,
- 22:08you're definitely not You're definitely not so
- 22:11yeah, I felt like I had a right to tell my story
- 22:13because I thought the whole event was funny um
- 22:17Also, I got her and the whole wedding party,
- 22:20and the whole wedding honestly after the reception,
- 22:23into my friend's bar for free, and most bars
- 22:26in Wilmington don't let you bring in your own
- 22:27photographer, and he allowed them to bring in
- 22:29their own photographer to take pictures of everybody
- 22:31there having a good time. So I did the hard,
- 22:34heavy work for that. Before that, before this
- 22:38wedding, before she met her husband, I had been
- 22:41seeing this guy super casually. That my brother
- 22:44actually asked me not to see and I was hanging
- 22:46out with him anyways, and she was like oh my
- 22:48gosh This guy's in love with you. Oh my gosh.
- 22:49This guy's in love with you, and I was like no
- 22:50He's really not I think we're just chillin blah
- 22:52blah blah blah blah well fast forward He's the
- 22:55last person I see before I move out of North
- 22:57Carolina. I moved to California a week later
- 23:00She calls me, and she's like hey. I have to tell
- 23:02you something. I was like what's up. She goes
- 23:04um Well, we were at the bar and we both were
- 23:07just so sad over you being gone and we got drunk
- 23:10and we ended up making out I was like Oh, the
- 23:14guy I just ended things with? Okay, alright.
- 23:18She said, are you mad? I was like, I guess I
- 23:20can't really be like, I'm across the country
- 23:21and I ended things. Well, fast forward, they
- 23:24end up hooking up. He tells her not to tell me.
- 23:26She tells me. Then they start dating. Then they
- 23:30break up and they both come to me for emotional
- 23:32support when they decided to date and then they
- 23:35decide to break up. Sorry, I'm not your emotional
- 23:38support. Before that, there was other guys that
- 23:41I'd be interested in. that i had also no business
- 23:43being interested in because i did not love jesus
- 23:46and she'd be like trying to hit on them the whole
- 23:48time in front of me like no that's not cool i
- 23:51don't know who would do that so That is just
- 23:55the tea on that. Like I really don't know why
- 23:57I was picking these friends at this time and
- 23:59now they're shocked when I don't want to be friends
- 24:02with them. You did not treat me well from the
- 24:04get -go. You over blew up who you thought I was
- 24:07in your mind. You wouldn't acknowledge me when
- 24:09I told you that's not who I am. You insisted
- 24:11on pretending I was somebody else and this is
- 24:15where we are. Like I would meet her friends and
- 24:17she'd be like, yeah, this is Hannah Liz. She's
- 24:18a party girl. She's this, she's that. No, I'm
- 24:20genuinely not. I'm a hand me my Kindle. Let me
- 24:23read my book. Maybe have a glass of wine lay
- 24:26out in the sunshine type of girl I am NOT a party
- 24:29girl. Why you keep telling everybody this? I
- 24:31don't know I've only made out with a few strangers
- 24:33and my whole life in the bars ever ever Just
- 24:36a handful and to be honest most of us have done
- 24:39that in our life. That's not a crazy thing Okay,
- 24:43so that's that The other friendships, I mean,
- 24:50there's plenty of friendships that I could spill
- 24:51tea on that did not respect my boundaries or
- 24:54hooked up with somebody I was gonna see or was
- 24:57talking to or whatever, but that's just the one
- 24:59being told in this story at this time. I will
- 25:03say actually, I'll save that for another podcast,
- 25:07another episode about being friends with bad
- 25:09people. We don't need to be friends with bad
- 25:11people. That's all I'm gonna say, but I will
- 25:13have more tea later. Anyways, choose your friends
- 25:16carefully. They don't respect your boundaries
- 25:18and you've set them time and time again. Don't
- 25:21be scared to make people mad because they clearly
- 25:23don't care about your feelings. And this isn't
- 25:26a they they're rude to me. I should be rude back.
- 25:28This is just saying if they don't respect your
- 25:30feelings, you need to move on. Do not worry about
- 25:34hurting their feelings by ending the friendship,
- 25:36especially if you've tried and tried and tried
- 25:38again. Okay, that's all I have to say. I hope
- 25:42you've enjoyed this podcast. I really hope you
- 25:44got something out of it and you feel encouraged
