- 0:02Speaker 1: This is an Unspoiled Network podcast. This is spoil Me,
- 0:09Speaker 1: covering one piece episodes seven forty four through seven forty
- 0:14Speaker 1: six No Way Out. Admiral Fujitra's ruthless pursuit Sun's cups,
- 0:21Speaker 1: the straw Hat Fleet is formed, and the numerous rivals
- 0:26Speaker 1: struggle amongst themselves the raging monsters of the New World.
- 0:32Speaker 1: In these episodes, Loofy is getting a fleet, whether he
- 0:36Speaker 1: likes it or not, apparently, and there is a power
- 0:41Speaker 1: vacuum that is resulting in some real future problems for
- 0:47Speaker 1: our gang. Welcome to spoil Me. Welcome to the show everyone.
- 1:10Speaker 1: I am Natasha. Thank you very much to Florian for
- 1:14Speaker 1: commissioning this episode, and thank you very much to Florian
- 1:17Speaker 1: for being flexible because I had to move the recording.
- 1:22Speaker 1: I won't even say at the last second, because I
- 1:24Speaker 1: did not have a chance to get in touch with
- 1:26Speaker 1: Florian until long after I should have recorded already to
- 1:30Speaker 1: let him know. So there's my bad. But appreciate you
- 1:35Speaker 1: a lot, definitely, So this trio of episodes, I actually
- 1:42Speaker 1: really really enjoyed you guys know how mad I was
- 1:46Speaker 1: in the last grouping because Fuji Toa just pissed me off.
- 1:49Speaker 1: And it's so funny because the first of these three episodes,
- 1:54Speaker 1: No Way Out Admiral Fujiitorro's ruthless pursuit, it basically just
- 1:59Speaker 1: cemented how I e about him, with him being about
- 2:01Speaker 1: to drop a bunch of rubble on the straw hats,
- 2:04Speaker 1: and then they get away due to the people in
- 2:08Speaker 1: the town basically conspiring to like cover for Lufy, and
- 2:13Speaker 1: this fucking dude backs off and is just like, I
- 2:18Speaker 1: bet you have such a kind heart, and I am
- 2:21Speaker 1: so sorry. I understand that not everybody agrees with me. Seraphm.
- 2:26Speaker 1: I get you, I get where you're coming from, But
- 2:30Speaker 1: when it comes down to it, I just I cannot
- 2:33Speaker 1: with a person who believes one thing and is about
- 2:36Speaker 1: to do the opposite of that thing, Like there's there
- 2:42Speaker 1: has got to be a reason that feels really ironclad
- 2:45Speaker 1: for me, and I just don't really feel it with him.
- 2:48Speaker 1: He's just not. Just for those who are not in
- 2:54Speaker 1: the discord and apology Seraphim, because you're not here, I'm
- 2:58Speaker 1: kind of making this argument on your behalf. But Seraphim's
- 3:01Speaker 1: argument in the discord is that Fujiitura was playing a
- 3:06Speaker 1: long game that he didn't want to step in against
- 3:09Speaker 1: Do Flamingo, because then the World government would be able
- 3:13Speaker 1: to take credit because Fujiitura is their guy. And that
- 3:18Speaker 1: also there is in a previous episode a mention of
- 3:23Speaker 1: the fact that Fujiita was conscripted, not a volunteer for
- 3:29Speaker 1: the Marines, So there's a possibility that, like he can't
- 3:33Speaker 1: even quit, that that's not an option for him. Now
- 3:38Speaker 1: as far as the long game thing, what I said
- 3:42Speaker 1: in the discord was like, I understand this, but I
- 3:45Speaker 1: also feel like he still could have helped against Do
- 3:48Speaker 1: Flamingo and then done that big public transmission with the
- 3:52Speaker 1: apology and made it clear that he was given the
- 3:56Speaker 1: opposite of the orders that he actually carried out, and
- 3:59Speaker 1: I think it's would have had the same effect. But
- 4:04Speaker 1: the idea that he was maybe conscripted and doesn't have
- 4:08Speaker 1: a choice about being in the Marines or not, I
- 4:11Speaker 1: find it a compelling argument, but I don't feel like
- 4:15Speaker 1: the show has done enough to make it clear if
- 4:18Speaker 1: that is the case. If it's the case, then yeah,
- 4:22Speaker 1: that's definitely like something to take into consideration with him
- 4:26Speaker 1: trying to work against the system because he is forced
- 4:30Speaker 1: to be in the system and doesn't want to be
- 4:33Speaker 1: and if that like in that sense, I would actually
- 4:39Speaker 1: really admire the attempt here, but the show just didn't
- 4:45Speaker 1: really illustrate that adequately for me. So it just comes
- 4:50Speaker 1: across as somebody who is part of the Marines knows
- 4:54Speaker 1: that they're up to no good is and is sort
- 4:57Speaker 1: of trying to have his cake and eat it too,
- 5:00Speaker 1: and like fight the Marines but not too hard, and like,
- 5:03Speaker 1: you know, I'm gonna try and do the right thing,
- 5:06Speaker 1: but like in such a way that it really doesn't
- 5:12Speaker 1: look like you're trying. And the whole thing with him
- 5:16Speaker 1: holding all of this rubble over their heads and saying,
- 5:18Speaker 1: you need to feel the weight of the destruction you wrought.
- 5:22Speaker 1: I will never recover from the fact that he says
- 5:25Speaker 1: that to them, after the damage that he inflicted on
- 5:28Speaker 1: dress Rosa himself, and the fact that these are the
- 5:31Speaker 1: people who saved dress Rosa. They had nothing to do
- 5:33Speaker 1: with this destruction. All of this was either do Flamingo
- 5:37Speaker 1: himself or his people that did this. So there's I
- 5:43Speaker 1: don't feel like really much to be said in his
- 5:45Speaker 1: defense regarding that particular accusation. So anyway, I can understand
- 5:54Speaker 1: where Seraphim is coming from, but none of that is
- 5:57Speaker 1: just it's inadequate for me, and I just find him
- 6:01Speaker 1: to be one of those people that's like, in a
- 6:04Speaker 1: way makes me more infuriated because he's straddling this line
- 6:08Speaker 1: and it feels like is unwilling to really commit one
- 6:11Speaker 1: way or the other, which is so accurate to how
- 6:17Speaker 1: real life is that seeing it in something like this
- 6:21Speaker 1: makes it feel all the more infuriating. I know I
- 6:25Speaker 1: keep using that word, but I'm sorry. There it is.
- 6:28Speaker 1: Florian says, I'm fifty to fifty with him. I can
- 6:30Speaker 1: take him or leave him, if that makes sense. I'm
- 6:31Speaker 1: also a Libra though, yeah, Libra vibes here also, Florian,
- 6:37Speaker 1: so I very much get you on that. So let's
- 6:42Speaker 1: start off with the Ruthless Pursuit, which there's a fun
- 6:48Speaker 1: visual here of everybody heading down this extremely long doc
- 6:57Speaker 1: I guess that is several miles long, with all of
- 7:02Speaker 1: these different ships set up next to it, and this
- 7:06Speaker 1: dude who he says that it's like his fleet and
- 7:10Speaker 1: that they made a doc or Lumbus is that how
- 7:13Speaker 1: you say his name? And he says they've extended ropes
- 7:17Speaker 1: to a bridge sturdy enough to support even our most
- 7:19Speaker 1: sizeable allies in their escape and it's a good thing
- 7:24Speaker 1: he says that, because then we see the giant heading
- 7:26Speaker 1: toward them and literally leaping onto it, and I was
- 7:29Speaker 1: just like, holy shit, this is a very fun bit,
- 7:35Speaker 1: and especially the giant is holding onto Loofy because Lufy
- 7:39Speaker 1: was trying to continue his fight with Fuji Tora, and
- 7:42Speaker 1: pretty much everybody is like, Lufy, Loofy, Loofy, Hey, hey
- 7:49Speaker 1: stop it, no, no, Loofy, do not do that. And
- 7:54Speaker 1: I found it genuinely amusing the fact that, like, this dude,
- 7:59Speaker 1: because the giant is holding Loofy in his fist the
- 8:03Speaker 1: way that he is. What it reminded me of is
- 8:06Speaker 1: when you're trying to get a cat to take a
- 8:10Speaker 1: pill and you have to burrito the cat and a
- 8:13Speaker 1: towel to keep its claws out of the way so
- 8:16Speaker 1: that you can shove its mouth open and just push
- 8:18Speaker 1: the pill down its throat. So it just kept like,
- 8:26Speaker 1: we just keep going back to this imagery of Loofy
- 8:28Speaker 1: in his fist, and it just made me think of
- 8:31Speaker 1: wrapping up a very disgruntled cat in a towel, and
- 8:35Speaker 1: that the fact that they have to do that to
- 8:38Speaker 1: Lufy feels actually really really appropriate and it takes a
- 8:43Speaker 1: while before Loofy is finally convinced that this fight isn't
- 8:48Speaker 1: going to occur and that it's not worthwhile to continue this,
- 8:53Speaker 1: you know. Meanwhile on land, Fujiitura is still standing there
- 9:00Speaker 1: in his uh swirling dust and debris, looking real fucking serious,
- 9:06Speaker 1: and he's thinking, if you think I'll simply let you escape,
- 9:10Speaker 1: you're mistaken, And he shoves his fist forward and this
- 9:14Speaker 1: massive cloud of broken masonry begins to float forward over
- 9:22Speaker 1: all of the ships. And at this point I was
- 9:27Speaker 1: so pissed at him. I was so angry. You do
- 9:31Speaker 1: not even understand. It's just like, no matter what front
- 9:36Speaker 1: you're keep, you're trying to keep up here the thing,
- 9:40Speaker 1: you know, Like, I'm so disgusted. So anyway, he like
- 9:48Speaker 1: the fact that he is about to be to either
- 9:51Speaker 1: willingly kill Loofy or to willingly put Loofy in impal Down,
- 10:00Speaker 1: which we know is a place with a lot of
- 10:03Speaker 1: torture in it. After everything that Loofy did for this community,
- 10:08Speaker 1: that he was about to like resort to this, I
- 10:13Speaker 1: will never forgive it. I won't be able to get
- 10:15Speaker 1: over it. I'm so sorry. And he begins to do
- 10:18Speaker 1: this thing where there. It's a weird thing with the
- 10:22Speaker 1: animation where you're seeing this like almost pulsing circle that's
- 10:28Speaker 1: like a dark It almost looks like in film when
- 10:35Speaker 1: they're when you have to change over the real when
- 10:37Speaker 1: you're watching a movie, like on an old fashioned film screen,
- 10:40Speaker 1: there's like a ring that will pop up a bright
- 10:45Speaker 1: light in the corner of the screen to signal to
- 10:47Speaker 1: the person who's working the projector that they have to
- 10:50Speaker 1: switch over the film. And it kind of looks like
- 10:53Speaker 1: that sort of ring, but dark instead of bright, and
- 10:56Speaker 1: it's like here and there and here and there. And
- 10:59Speaker 1: then when you start to see some of the bigger
- 11:03Speaker 1: chunks of debris beginning to like move together and clump,
- 11:09Speaker 1: and I think it was looking almost like there was
- 11:13Speaker 1: a sort of magnetized thing happening. I'm not really entirely
- 11:19Speaker 1: sure what this was meant to signify, because even if
- 11:26Speaker 1: you have all of these chunks like clinging to one another,
- 11:30Speaker 1: does that make it more devastating than just the cloud
- 11:34Speaker 1: of debris would have been to begin with? Anyway, I'm
- 11:38Speaker 1: not really sure if that makes it like more intimidating necessarily,
- 11:43Speaker 1: it just feels like it's pretty bad to begin with,
- 11:46Speaker 1: maybe this is supposed to be like what he's doing
- 11:49Speaker 1: to enable the cloud to move forward away from him
- 11:53Speaker 1: and still remain contained and in control. I don't know.
- 12:02Speaker 1: So everybody who is like on the land is watching this,
- 12:06Speaker 1: going what the hell is happening with this thing? Eventually
- 12:10Speaker 1: King Rico is like, why is he doing this? And
- 12:13Speaker 1: Viola has to be the one to say, like, he's
- 12:15Speaker 1: chasing straw Hat, it's following him. And you see Ricu
- 12:19Speaker 1: like start sweating because he's understandably, I owe straw Hat
- 12:24Speaker 1: so fucking much after everything, and this dude is about
- 12:28Speaker 1: to take him down with this? Are you serious? So
- 12:31Speaker 1: then we go to this speech that he has. I
- 12:33Speaker 1: know how you must feel right now, straw Hat. Although
- 12:37Speaker 1: I cannot see the havoc I have wrought, I know
- 12:40Speaker 1: it looms heavily before your eyes, a dark sky that
- 12:44Speaker 1: suffocates any hope for escape. The moment you try to
- 12:48Speaker 1: set sail, this rubbable fall like an endless rain, sinking
- 12:53Speaker 1: every ship into the abyss below. Surely you must know,
- 12:59Speaker 1: even if by some miracle you do escape me, the
- 13:03Speaker 1: four Emperors will hound your every step. By defeating Joker,
- 13:08Speaker 1: you've put a target on your back. Your life will
- 13:11Speaker 1: be a living hell until at last they claim your neck.
- 13:15Speaker 1: You took pity on me for my blindness, but the
- 13:19Speaker 1: truth is this was an injury that I brought upon myself.
- 13:25Speaker 1: These eyes were closed by my own actions because they
- 13:29Speaker 1: saw too many things that I didn't care for, things
- 13:33Speaker 1: that I wished they hadn't. And I thought for sure
- 13:40Speaker 1: when he said this, that we were going to get
- 13:43Speaker 1: a flashback at this moment, and that we were suddenly
- 13:46Speaker 1: going to see what awful thing he went through, and
- 13:50Speaker 1: the fact that he blinds himself. It was just such
- 13:52Speaker 1: a It just felt like such a perfect setup, you know.
- 13:57Speaker 1: And we don't get any further explanation. We just that's
- 14:03Speaker 1: the end of that speech. We have the cloud that's
- 14:06Speaker 1: like all formed over the ships, and eventually there's this
- 14:14Speaker 1: I'm trying to find the moment where that dark, sort
- 14:17Speaker 1: of pulsing black I don't even know what to call it.
- 14:23Speaker 1: I keep wanting to call it like a barcode, because
- 14:26Speaker 1: that's the weirdness of the He says, this is the
- 14:30Speaker 1: end of your story, and bits of the cloud begin
- 14:37Speaker 1: to rain. He doesn't drop everything all at once. There's
- 14:40Speaker 1: just like individual pieces as these pieces are beginning to fall.
- 14:48Speaker 1: We hear some yelling and some footsteps and somebody yells out,
- 14:57Speaker 1: where's Rebecca? Give her back to us, Loofy. Whatever you're planning,
- 15:03Speaker 1: we're gonna stop it. And you guys know, like last episode,
- 15:09Speaker 1: I was just sort of over the townspeople. I was
- 15:13Speaker 1: very much feeling like, these guys are fucking useless and
- 15:19Speaker 1: keep screwing things up for everybody, and I am sick
- 15:22Speaker 1: of it. And there was just a feeling for me
- 15:27Speaker 1: of like you could keep getting your ass saved so
- 15:29Speaker 1: many times that I don't feel like you deserve it anymore.
- 15:33Speaker 1: You're not even trying. And it was really fun actually
- 15:38Speaker 1: in this episode to have this thing happen that happens here.
- 15:42Speaker 1: They're rushing forward and it seems like they're doing the
- 15:46Speaker 1: thing that I was real pissed at them for doing
- 15:48Speaker 1: last episode, which is turning on Lufy yet again, even
- 15:52Speaker 1: though he's saved their asses. And then we have Fuji
- 15:58Speaker 1: Tora like he's at first just sort of guys, why
- 16:03Speaker 1: are you running this way? There's just pirates over there.
- 16:07Speaker 1: I have this under control, Stay out of it. He's
- 16:11Speaker 1: really baffled why so many people are getting involved. And
- 16:15Speaker 1: then he tunes in so to speak, because you know,
- 16:20Speaker 1: he has a heightened sense of hearing due to being blind,
- 16:24Speaker 1: and he hears people like one of the kids saying, wait,
- 16:28Speaker 1: I thought Lufy was our friend. Why are we doing
- 16:31Speaker 1: this again, and the kid's parents saying, just play along.
- 16:38Speaker 1: We're doing this because as long as we are in
- 16:41Speaker 1: the way of all of that rubble, Fujiita won't let
- 16:45Speaker 1: it drop. So by doing this, we're saving straw Hat's life.
- 16:52Speaker 1: And I'll tell you what, I loved this so much.
- 16:57Speaker 1: It made me so happy. It's about day time. This
- 17:02Speaker 1: crew of people is made to do something for Loofy
- 17:05Speaker 1: for a change. He's out here doing everything for them. Yes,
- 17:10Speaker 1: pay that shit back, thank you, appreciate it. And there
- 17:17Speaker 1: was just so much about this, Like there's also the
- 17:19Speaker 1: fact that they bring up how nobody ever talks about it,
- 17:24Speaker 1: but Rebecca's father is actually heros and they live in
- 17:31Speaker 1: that cottage out on the hillside, and they used to
- 17:37Speaker 1: be a family with Scarlet and all the adults in
- 17:42Speaker 1: the kingdom have known that for sixteen years now. Of
- 17:47Speaker 1: course we knew the truth about the fairies too, but
- 17:49Speaker 1: we kept the secret to protect them. So you guys,
- 17:57Speaker 1: the fact that everybody knew about this, You know what
- 18:01Speaker 1: I'm gonna say, Right then, why are we doing it?
- 18:06Speaker 1: And I think we're meant to be like, oh, okay,
- 18:10Speaker 1: we're not really doing it. Later on, because King Riku
- 18:15Speaker 1: says something about how Rebecca and Kiros are going to
- 18:18Speaker 1: be coming for dinner. They're not even coming for dinner,
- 18:22Speaker 1: I believe, Rebecca says no, Viola says Rebecca is coming
- 18:27Speaker 1: to cook us dinner, which I definitely had a moment
- 18:30Speaker 1: of like wow. But in the end, I still feel like,
- 18:40Speaker 1: if you guys are having her over, if the whole
- 18:44Speaker 1: town already knows, can we just like let go of
- 18:52Speaker 1: this weird story that we've set up about how she
- 18:57Speaker 1: has a prince for a father. Actually, like I I
- 19:05Speaker 1: don't know, I don't know anyway, it just seemed like
- 19:09Speaker 1: we're trying to sort of resolve that story be but
- 19:14Speaker 1: not in a way that feels like we're dealing with
- 19:17Speaker 1: it head on. It feels like very passive aggressive in
- 19:21Speaker 1: a way which anybody who has been listening to my
- 19:25Speaker 1: show for any amount of time understands how deeply contemptuous,
- 19:31Speaker 1: contemptuous I am of passive aggressive, Like handling of situations.
- 19:39Speaker 1: From what I understand of Japanese culture, it's like quite
- 19:45Speaker 1: a thing, you know. It's sort of in the same
- 19:48Speaker 1: vein that I think of waspy families, where it's much
- 19:52Speaker 1: more about appearances and reputation and keeping face. And so
- 20:01Speaker 1: I think that I'm just destined to be unsatisfied by
- 20:04Speaker 1: this plotline. I think, like ultimately, guys, where I stand
- 20:10Speaker 1: on this is that I am the most disappointed by
- 20:14Speaker 1: the fact that we went through that whole Heros and
- 20:18Speaker 1: Rebecca storyline and never actually got a resolution where they
- 20:23Speaker 1: get to like be publicly together in a way that
- 20:28Speaker 1: makes them happy. So it feels like, well, why did
- 20:34Speaker 1: we go through all of that if we weren't even
- 20:36Speaker 1: going to get like an it's a happy ending and
- 20:40Speaker 1: that they get to be together. And I don't think
- 20:42Speaker 1: she really cares about being a princess. So it's not
- 20:45Speaker 1: exactly that I think she's unhappy. It's just that it
- 20:50Speaker 1: feels like there's a larger issue here that we haven't
- 20:54Speaker 1: dealt with, which is that these people who loved each
- 20:58Speaker 1: other had to like go and hide in such a way,
- 21:03Speaker 1: and maybe the way things shook out wouldn't have happened
- 21:06Speaker 1: this way if they hadn't been set apart from the
- 21:11Speaker 1: rest of their family. You know, but I think it's
- 21:15Speaker 1: like supposed to be just the admirable story be of
- 21:22Speaker 1: her giving up being a princess so that she can
- 21:25Speaker 1: be with her father and the selflessness of that, and
- 21:29Speaker 1: how that's supposed to prove something about her, And you know,
- 21:33Speaker 1: I guess, I guess it's just really not what I
- 21:36Speaker 1: was hoping for, and after everything, it was a little
- 21:40Speaker 1: bit flat for me, But you know, it is what
- 21:44Speaker 1: it is, so we get Kiros. This is when he's
- 21:50Speaker 1: like wondering what Lufy actually looks like, and he's thinking,
- 21:55Speaker 1: you know, what is a shit your eyes? And what
- 22:02Speaker 1: does your smile look like? It's a shame. Wish I
- 22:05Speaker 1: could use these eyes for one last time to see
- 22:08Speaker 1: the face of a man like you. I'm sure it's
- 22:11Speaker 1: filled to the brim with kindness. This is what he
- 22:18Speaker 1: is saying about a man that he was about to
- 22:22Speaker 1: not only kill, but also kill like hundreds of other
- 22:28Speaker 1: people in order to kill. And now he's just like,
- 22:33Speaker 1: I wish I could set eyes on your cute old face,
- 22:36Speaker 1: because I bet you're real nice. If you don't get
- 22:40Speaker 1: the fuck out of my face with this bullshit. I
- 22:43Speaker 1: am never going to recover. This is such garbage. Oh
- 22:48Speaker 1: my god, And I know it's like supposed to be. Oh,
- 22:52Speaker 1: I'm so glad I don't have to try and kill
- 22:54Speaker 1: you now, because I didn't want to do it in
- 22:56Speaker 1: the first place. I'm sorry, it's just not working. It's
- 23:00Speaker 1: not working for me. So we get everybody boarding the
- 23:08Speaker 1: ships and that one dude I can't remember his name,
- 23:13Speaker 1: he says something about the l Fhab Pirates I think
- 23:16Speaker 1: is the name of them, but he says like they've
- 23:19Speaker 1: got something like seventy something ships, and he says that
- 23:25Speaker 1: they are at Lufy's disposal, and a bunch of other
- 23:31Speaker 1: dudes all throw in here as well. Now, this was
- 23:38Speaker 1: something that I felt like really did pay off in
- 23:40Speaker 1: a way that I wasn't expecting, because you guys know
- 23:43Speaker 1: that like a lot of the dudes here who wind
- 23:46Speaker 1: up throwing in are ones who were in the arena.
- 23:49Speaker 1: They were part of that fight. And I was really
- 23:52Speaker 1: at the beginning of the dress Rosa arc just like
- 23:56Speaker 1: there are too many people to keep track of, friends.
- 23:58Speaker 1: I don't know what I'm supposed to do with all
- 23:59Speaker 1: these these guys. Now, I still stand by that. I
- 24:03Speaker 1: definitely feel like there's too many people, But now that
- 24:10Speaker 1: we get to see them all becoming like kind of
- 24:14Speaker 1: extensions of Lufy's crew, at least, it feels like I
- 24:21Speaker 1: understand spending. I don't want to say as much time
- 24:25Speaker 1: with them as we did, but it makes it feel
- 24:29Speaker 1: a little bit like it was not such a waste
- 24:32Speaker 1: of time. And I know that doesn't sound like me
- 24:35Speaker 1: being like generous exactly, but you know what I'm saying,
- 24:38Speaker 1: Like it just did seem at the beginning of the arc,
- 24:42Speaker 1: like I don't really get why I even want to
- 24:44Speaker 1: keep all these guys in my head. It's the waste
- 24:47Speaker 1: of real estate in there, and I have got to
- 24:50Speaker 1: use it for better things. And I don't necessarily feel
- 24:53Speaker 1: like I need to memorize all of their names or
- 24:54Speaker 1: anything at this point, but they all now whole slightly
- 25:00Speaker 1: more significance. So it's definitely feeling like, yeah, exactly. Sorry.
- 25:08Speaker 1: Florian's in the chat and says I did not expect this.
- 25:12Speaker 1: I felt the same way you do. This kind of
- 25:13Speaker 1: makes sense looking back again, rewatching it is way more
- 25:17Speaker 1: interesting because of this, And yeah, that's what I was
- 25:20Speaker 1: going to say was like, I feel like we're not
- 25:24Speaker 1: for this. On a rewatch, I would definitely be sort
- 25:28Speaker 1: of like okay, okay, I get it, I get it,
- 25:30Speaker 1: I get it. But because we wind up here, I
- 25:37Speaker 1: feel like it would make the rewatch a lot more
- 25:39Speaker 1: fun and it would feel a lot more rich because
- 25:43Speaker 1: it's like, you know something that maybe this information winds
- 25:49Speaker 1: up being, if not necessarily useful, at least kind of
- 25:53Speaker 1: a fun detail, you know, something a little bit juicy,
- 25:57Speaker 1: And I like that aspect of it. So the way
- 26:03Speaker 1: that this works out this is so funny because I'm
- 26:08Speaker 1: trying to get to the part where, oh my god,
- 26:10Speaker 1: I forgot Cavendish, being like if I team up with you,
- 26:14Speaker 1: I'm sure to be the popular one, and Lufy's like, well,
- 26:17Speaker 1: I'm not asking for help. I don't know what you
- 26:21Speaker 1: guys are even talking about. You can do whatever it
- 26:23Speaker 1: is you want. And then we've got the introduction with
- 26:30Speaker 1: each of their names and a little like it's Suliman
- 26:34Speaker 1: and Cavendish, the Beautiful Pirates with seventy five members. I
- 26:42Speaker 1: just love that they're called the Beautiful Pirates because Bruh
- 26:45Speaker 1: Suliman no offense. But and then the Bartow Club with
- 26:52Speaker 1: fifty six members. I love you so much, Bartolomeo, I
- 26:57Speaker 1: love you so so much. I can't get enough of
- 27:01Speaker 1: this fucking guy. Then the Hapusi Hapo Sui Army Haposue.
- 27:09Speaker 1: Their leader is their thirteenth leader is Don Side. Of course,
- 27:13Speaker 1: we have off to the side Baby five being like
- 27:16Speaker 1: looking good, honey, Oh my god, I love her so much.
- 27:21Speaker 1: Then Triple X Gym Fighting Alliance with four members. They're
- 27:27Speaker 1: led by Destruction Canon Dao IDEO's that guy with the
- 27:32Speaker 1: fucking shoulder pads. Tantakor with two hundred members. Their leader
- 27:39Speaker 1: is Leo the Warrior, and uh, let's see. Then we
- 27:46Speaker 1: have the soon to be Giant Pirates five members and growing.
- 27:52Speaker 1: Their captain is Hajrudin, and Hazrudin later on talks about
- 27:57Speaker 1: that he is going to be going around and getting
- 27:59Speaker 1: more of them together. And then Commodore of the yont
- 28:04Speaker 1: Maria Fleet with forty three hundred members. Forty three hundred
- 28:12Speaker 1: members or Lumbus, that's his name, what a what a
- 28:19Speaker 1: fucking name. So Bartolomeo comes forward and niels and is like,
- 28:25Speaker 1: we have fifty six hundred people total, and we want
- 28:30Speaker 1: to drink sake with you and do this ritual so
- 28:34Speaker 1: that you will be our leader, he says, so that
- 28:38Speaker 1: we can drink sake like father and son, which I
- 28:43Speaker 1: don't know if this is like a translation issue, but
- 28:48Speaker 1: you know, when he follows up, we humbly ask you
- 28:51Speaker 1: to take us under your wing. I'm sort of assuming
- 28:54Speaker 1: that the father something is just like mentor and mentee
- 28:57Speaker 1: or leader and you know, subjects sort of situation. And
- 29:05Speaker 1: so Bartolomeo asks Loofy this and we get like the
- 29:09Speaker 1: pan across to everybody else's reactions, and the episode ends,
- 29:15Speaker 1: and then we go into the next one and Lufy says,
- 29:20Speaker 1: no thanks, I'll pass. It's very funny because they fill
- 29:25Speaker 1: up a huge bowl with sake for him, and all
- 29:29Speaker 1: I could think was if he's meant to take a
- 29:31Speaker 1: drink every time one of them takes a drink, This
- 29:32Speaker 1: dude is about to get fucked up. But yeah, they're already,
- 29:37Speaker 1: they've poured the sake and it's not until they have
- 29:40Speaker 1: like finished setting all of this up. Loufy, by the way,
- 29:43Speaker 1: is scowling throughout this whole thing, and by like once
- 29:49Speaker 1: he actually rejects them. I'm sorry, but there's just not
- 29:54Speaker 1: another way to say this the all the straw Hats
- 30:03Speaker 1: are sort of grinning and like, yeah, of course this
- 30:07Speaker 1: is how he's responding to this, whereas all of the
- 30:11Speaker 1: pirates who had been trying to sign up with him
- 30:17Speaker 1: are looking really sad. And at one point Bartolomeo was like,
- 30:22Speaker 1: are we not good enough? What's the problem here, you guys?
- 30:29Speaker 1: I felt so sad because, like I'm I'm to let
- 30:33Speaker 1: you in on my headspace here. I do not believe
- 30:40Speaker 1: that this would have been the way to go for
- 30:43Speaker 1: Louviy to like be in charge of all of these people.
- 30:46Speaker 1: Luviy can barely handle being in charge of the straw Hats.
- 30:50Speaker 1: I've argued many times that he really isn't even the leader. Really,
- 30:54Speaker 1: he's like the charismatic face of the straw Hats, but
- 30:58Speaker 1: like he's not in charge, you know, you know, he's
- 31:04Speaker 1: he has everybody in a choke hold because he just
- 31:09Speaker 1: decides to jump into stuff and they kind of have
- 31:12Speaker 1: to do whatever he has determined in order to keep
- 31:16Speaker 1: him from getting killed, which I'm not sure actually translates
- 31:20Speaker 1: to him being the leader. Just to be clear on
- 31:24Speaker 1: what I mean when I'm saying all of this, there
- 31:27Speaker 1: is no need for Loofy to actually be in charge
- 31:31Speaker 1: in any real way, and I like as much as
- 31:39Speaker 1: a part of me did want this because it felt
- 31:43Speaker 1: like we were potentially turning a corner in the overall
- 31:49Speaker 1: story and that he was going to need more backup
- 31:53Speaker 1: because we are obviously with the whole like power vacuum
- 31:57Speaker 1: thing that gets talked about later. Yeah, there are going
- 32:00Speaker 1: to be a lot more people after Lufy and after
- 32:04Speaker 1: his friends specifically. I definitely agree with that. I believe that,
- 32:09Speaker 1: but I also didn't see that this was going to
- 32:13Speaker 1: be the way to handle it. And if anything, it
- 32:16Speaker 1: might put more of a target on Lufy's back because
- 32:20Speaker 1: he's now the one in charge of this big fleet
- 32:24Speaker 1: after defeating Do Flamingo this way, maybe people would who
- 32:30Speaker 1: would have left him alone are now going to take
- 32:32Speaker 1: a second look at him because he's suddenly in charge
- 32:34Speaker 1: of all of these people. I had very mixed feelings.
- 32:38Speaker 1: I really went back and forth on whether I liked
- 32:41Speaker 1: this or not. It just like the recording that I
- 32:44Speaker 1: did with Florian, I said something about how it really
- 32:48Speaker 1: seems like this is a turning point, and I wondered
- 32:54Speaker 1: as I was watching this, I was like, is this
- 32:56Speaker 1: what I was sensing that the turning point is suddenly
- 32:59Speaker 1: the strong get like huge and there's thousands of them,
- 33:04Speaker 1: and even thinking it, I was just like, no, they
- 33:07Speaker 1: wouldn't be the straw hats. It wouldn't That's not who
- 33:11Speaker 1: I would call. They can't all be straw hats. That's
- 33:14Speaker 1: the in group, that's the originals. There would have to
- 33:18Speaker 1: be some other name for them. And honestly, I couldn't
- 33:21Speaker 1: even think of something that I liked. I was just
- 33:23Speaker 1: like the Loofy pirates, like what is you know, like
- 33:26Speaker 1: wh So anyway, once he declines and says no, and
- 33:35Speaker 1: there's you know, just everybody sort of being like, I
- 33:40Speaker 1: feel like you're rejecting us. Here, Loofy says, guys, we
- 33:48Speaker 1: don't need to do all of it this way, like
- 33:54Speaker 1: we're all friends. We went through this together. If I'm
- 33:59Speaker 1: ever in trouble, I'll call you for help because I
- 34:03Speaker 1: know that you'll have my back. I don't need to
- 34:06Speaker 1: be a big shot or have a whole fleet for that.
- 34:10Speaker 1: And if you ever need help, let us know and
- 34:14Speaker 1: we will definitely step up and be there for you. That's,
- 34:19Speaker 1: you know, that's the most important thing. But and he
- 34:23Speaker 1: says at one point I don't need to be a
- 34:26Speaker 1: big shot. I just want to be King of the Pirates. Honestly,
- 34:33Speaker 1: I really really loved that moment. There's like, you know,
- 34:36Speaker 1: they do that boy oil sound where they anytime somebody
- 34:42Speaker 1: does something particularly stupid, and there's like a pause where
- 34:46Speaker 1: everybody is looking at each other. That's the music that plays.
- 34:51Speaker 1: I couldn't help but understand what he meant by that.
- 34:55Speaker 1: Though he wants to be the best and on top
- 34:59Speaker 1: and find the one piece and all of that, but
- 35:02Speaker 1: in terms of like actually being in charge, that is
- 35:07Speaker 1: super not what's important to him, And I could see
- 35:11Speaker 1: why other people wouldn't understand what he means by that.
- 35:16Speaker 1: But I also feel like that kind of tracks Weirdly,
- 35:25Speaker 1: there was a part of me that felt like I
- 35:27Speaker 1: understood what he meant by it, even though it sounds
- 35:30Speaker 1: like a contradiction. So oh, Florian says, this is what
- 35:37Speaker 1: white Beard and his kids had, and kids is in
- 35:41Speaker 1: quotation marks Oh. I see. So they're trying to sort
- 35:46Speaker 1: of set him up to be like the new white
- 35:48Speaker 1: Beard because Whitebeard's dead. Now I see, okay, this makes sense,
- 35:56Speaker 1: thank you, Florian. White Beard is dead, right, I didn't
- 36:01Speaker 1: make that up him and acetied shit guys, the way
- 36:07Speaker 1: that my brain has lost track of so much it's
- 36:10Speaker 1: not awesome. So this like the whole uh bit here
- 36:20Speaker 1: with them deciding, you know what, fuck you, We're gonna
- 36:27Speaker 1: do it anyway. I cannot tell you how delighted I
- 36:31Speaker 1: found this. The whole way that this worked, I because
- 36:40Speaker 1: Loofy tells them explicitly, you guys can do what you want,
- 36:44Speaker 1: and so they do and he's like, no, not like that.
- 36:48Speaker 1: And I just couldn't stop laughing because this is what
- 36:53Speaker 1: you said, and everybody really believes in you, and I
- 36:59Speaker 1: get that you like didn't ask. But that's part of
- 37:02Speaker 1: the thing about being a leader is that you wind
- 37:06Speaker 1: up in that position, like despite yourself. I don't feel
- 37:13Speaker 1: like that's the right way to say it, but it's
- 37:15Speaker 1: just the sort of thing that, like when you exhibit
- 37:19Speaker 1: real leadership skills and other people recognize that in you,
- 37:24Speaker 1: even if you try and put somebody else as the leader,
- 37:28Speaker 1: they're instinctively going to do what you tell them over
- 37:31Speaker 1: what that person tells them, just because they see you
- 37:35Speaker 1: as being in charge. And there's something about that that
- 37:39Speaker 1: is difficult to undo, you know, Like, even when you
- 37:42Speaker 1: try and be like, don't ask me. I'm not in
- 37:44Speaker 1: charge here. If people think you are and they came
- 37:47Speaker 1: to you automatically, then it's gonna be some work to
- 37:52Speaker 1: convince them to go to this other person, and that's
- 37:55Speaker 1: gonna be like ongoing, you know. So Anyway, at this point,
- 38:02Speaker 1: like Lufy gets real mad and tries to yell at
- 38:05Speaker 1: all of them for this, but I was just like, eh,
- 38:08Speaker 1: it's great. And Bartolomeo is the one who gets it.
- 38:12Speaker 1: It's not about being big but being free. Of course
- 38:16Speaker 1: Bartolomeo gets it. They are interrupted here by cannon fire,
- 38:23Speaker 1: and Leo is like, what the fuck? I sewed all
- 38:26Speaker 1: their ships together. Who the fuck is messing with us
- 38:29Speaker 1: right now? And we look out there and we see
- 38:34Speaker 1: all of these pirates that were I am assuming with
- 38:41Speaker 1: do Flamingo attacking, And we also see that pile of
- 38:47Speaker 1: rubble is still fucking hovering. And I was sitting there
- 38:53Speaker 1: like which chore? I thought we I thought we were done.
- 38:57Speaker 1: I thought we were done with this. I'm surprised it's
- 39:00Speaker 1: all still in the air. Well. It turns out to
- 39:03Speaker 1: be very convenient because soon chunks of this all begin
- 39:08Speaker 1: falling on the enemy ships, including the bottom half of
- 39:12Speaker 1: the like statue of Pika that he had been using,
- 39:15Speaker 1: which is the size of like half the island. And
- 39:21Speaker 1: this is when Fuji Toura says, that's my parting gift
- 39:25Speaker 1: straw hat I will give Fujiitura credit for this. It's
- 39:33Speaker 1: the one like fighting action that he has taken that
- 39:39Speaker 1: feels like, okay, at least she did something, you know.
- 39:45Speaker 1: So it's kind of funny because it's set up like
- 39:48Speaker 1: it's going to be this whole thing with fighting against
- 39:50Speaker 1: these pirates, and then it's sort of a wrap really
- 39:53Speaker 1: really quickly, and then we get the organization of everybody
- 40:02Speaker 1: onto the ship that Bartolomeo made and all of the
- 40:07Speaker 1: partying and all of that. I'm trying to find the spot.
- 40:11Speaker 1: There's a bunch of like flashback stuff in here that
- 40:14Speaker 1: I'm trying to really quickly blow past because we don't
- 40:18Speaker 1: need any of this, and so much of it is
- 40:21Speaker 1: about uh Kiros and Rebecca again, and I'm just like,
- 40:24Speaker 1: uh whatever, oh okay. So the ship that Bartolomeo brings
- 40:29Speaker 1: them onto isn't until the third episode the numerous rivals struggle,
- 40:33Speaker 1: so we'll go to that one. The ship that Bartolomeo
- 40:39Speaker 1: has waiting for them, you guys, Oh my god, it's
- 40:43Speaker 1: so it's it's it's a fandom ship. It is like
- 40:51Speaker 1: a few days ago, Florian sent me the like promo
- 40:57Speaker 1: trailer for the Lego that they're making for One Piece,
- 41:02Speaker 1: and it kind of felt like if Lego had decided
- 41:05Speaker 1: not to stick to doing things exactly according to the show,
- 41:11Speaker 1: then maybe they would have made something like this. It's
- 41:15Speaker 1: first of all, got a huge sale that's like lime
- 41:18Speaker 1: green with maybe blue polka dots all over it that
- 41:22Speaker 1: vaguely resemble gunshot holes. But I don't think it's supposed to.
- 41:26Speaker 1: It's just what I thought of because in the middle
- 41:29Speaker 1: there's one of those like comic book they're sort of
- 41:33Speaker 1: like starbursts that usually is used along with a sound effect.
- 41:38Speaker 1: So it's like you've got all of these polka dots
- 41:40Speaker 1: and then that starburst over it, and it looks like
- 41:44Speaker 1: an action moment in a comic where something's getting shot at,
- 41:48Speaker 1: you know. Over that it says Bartow Club in huge
- 41:52Speaker 1: red letters. And then we've got the figurehead is Loofy
- 42:01Speaker 1: in his straw hat with his long, bendy, stretchy arms
- 42:07Speaker 1: moving backward along the sides of the ship. In the
- 42:12Speaker 1: middle is that Ram's head from the Going Mary, and
- 42:18Speaker 1: at the back is Chopper's head with his antlers and
- 42:24Speaker 1: his hat, and then there's of course the orange no
- 42:28Speaker 1: tangerine trees, So sorry that are paying respect to Nami.
- 42:34Speaker 1: I kind of thought we were going to get like
- 42:37Speaker 1: one thing for every member of the Straw Hats that
- 42:40Speaker 1: was included on this ship, and they don't do that,
- 42:43Speaker 1: but I was fine with it. You know, it might
- 42:46Speaker 1: be that we get reveals of other things later on
- 42:49Speaker 1: as things continue as well. But just how excited Bartolomeo
- 42:54Speaker 1: is to show this off, how much work he put
- 42:57Speaker 1: into it, Like he's talking about all of these mastership
- 43:00Speaker 1: rights that he got in touch with and the people
- 43:02Speaker 1: that he consulted with to make things, and it is
- 43:07Speaker 1: just so delightful. I just every bit of this was
- 43:13Speaker 1: exactly what I wanted. It was just great. So, yeah,
- 43:21Speaker 1: they're the ones that are going to be uh Bartow's
- 43:26Speaker 1: ship is going to be the one that gets them
- 43:28Speaker 1: where they're going next. Really quickly. I'm trying to back
- 43:32Speaker 1: up here because there's a conversation between some people we have,
- 43:36Speaker 1: like the the opening of the episode is law and
- 43:43Speaker 1: he's like staring out at the water broodingly as he does,
- 43:47Speaker 1: and there's this sort of a weird moment here in
- 43:50Speaker 1: my mind. I'm interested in either how you guys interpreted
- 43:57Speaker 1: this or if there is maybe like a translation thing. Oh,
- 44:00Speaker 1: I should bring that up as well. Sarahim was, you know,
- 44:03Speaker 1: in Defensive Fujiitra. In the discord, Saraphim said something about
- 44:07Speaker 1: how it must be a translation issue because the word
- 44:12Speaker 1: whimsical isn't at all in the subversion. It's it's you know,
- 44:20Speaker 1: definitely in the dub, but that they clearly didn't mean
- 44:25Speaker 1: it the way that it came across in the dub.
- 44:28Speaker 1: So I don't know what. Like the speech that he
- 44:34Speaker 1: gives in the sub the Saraphim posted, like, I think
- 44:41Speaker 1: all of the text of it in the discord, and
- 44:45Speaker 1: it bears like this, it's like the same general idea
- 44:50Speaker 1: as the speech in the dub, but it has a
- 44:54Speaker 1: real different Like there's enough of a difference to me
- 45:00Speaker 1: that I do feel like they fucked up the translation
- 45:03Speaker 1: a little bit. I don't know, it's hard to you
- 45:09Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, Like, I just would I wonder
- 45:17Speaker 1: why they chose the word whimsical. I wonder what came
- 45:22Speaker 1: into their head to do that, because frankly, nothing in
- 45:26Speaker 1: the speech that Saraphim shared seems to really justify the
- 45:30Speaker 1: use of that word specifically. But anyway, the thing with
- 45:42Speaker 1: Trafalgar Law looking out and being moody, the reason that
- 45:47Speaker 1: I'm talking about, like maybe there's another translation issue or something,
- 45:50Speaker 1: is just because Robin comes up and asks, she stands
- 45:55Speaker 1: next to him and is just like, what is it
- 45:56Speaker 1: that you're thinking about? And long story short, he basically
- 46:02Speaker 1: just tells her leave me alone, which is fine. But
- 46:07Speaker 1: after he says leave me alone and walks away, she
- 46:11Speaker 1: sort of gazes after him and then sort of goes
- 46:14Speaker 1: hm and smiles in a way that felt to me
- 46:20Speaker 1: like it was wholly inappropriate for somebody who seemed to
- 46:25Speaker 1: be sad and emotional looking off into the distance telling
- 46:29Speaker 1: you they want you to back off and leave them alone,
- 46:33Speaker 1: to sort of like grin and seem vaguely amused by it.
- 46:39Speaker 1: I just didn't really understand that moment at all, and
- 46:44Speaker 1: I feel like I'm missing something. And I know that
- 46:46Speaker 1: you guys have said a few times that the way
- 46:52Speaker 1: that Robin is portrayed in the sub just gives her
- 46:56Speaker 1: a whole different vibe to the way that she is
- 46:59Speaker 1: in the dub So I'm wondering is it her? Did
- 47:03Speaker 1: they translate Trafalgar weirdly? You know, like what was going
- 47:08Speaker 1: on there? Because it was a moment that just doesn't
- 47:11Speaker 1: really go anywhere and I couldn't understand the point of it.
- 47:16Speaker 1: But anyway, so this is when we go to the
- 47:23Speaker 1: Royal Palace and they're talking about when I say the
- 47:27Speaker 1: Royal Palace, I want to read exactly how this is
- 47:35Speaker 1: describe here. Let's see, No, it just says the Royal Palace.
- 47:38Speaker 1: I'm assuming that this is with the other celestial dragons.
- 47:42Speaker 1: There's a when you say royal palace, is that Riku's palace?
- 47:54Speaker 1: I don't understand who that? It can't be right, I'm
- 48:00Speaker 1: trying to see. There's also the mention of Lucci talking.
- 48:05Speaker 1: Is Lucie the one that we met? Did we meet
- 48:09Speaker 1: this guy before? Is this the dude who was one
- 48:13Speaker 1: of the I can't remember the name of that other
- 48:18Speaker 1: group that eventually a guy has a zebra power and whatnot.
- 48:22Speaker 1: I feel like I'm getting some people mixed up here.
- 48:26Speaker 1: But apparently, let's see Cipher Pole agis zero. That's the
- 48:33Speaker 1: name of the guy who's talking here, and he has
- 48:35Speaker 1: a real weird sort of beard with like a puffball
- 48:38Speaker 1: on the end, and he is accompanied by a dude
- 48:44Speaker 1: with a weird series of like what looks like pieces
- 48:49Speaker 1: of metal or leather as a mask, but the way
- 48:52Speaker 1: it's sitting on his face, it almost looks like they're
- 48:54Speaker 1: actually directly fastened to his face. This dude is reporting
- 49:04Speaker 1: that all of these weapons that were on Dress Rosa
- 49:07Speaker 1: and being stored there have apparently disappeared, and they have
- 49:14Speaker 1: decided that the way all of this was done, so
- 49:20Speaker 1: many weapons carried out in such a short time, it
- 49:24Speaker 1: had to be a group that was pretty large and
- 49:27Speaker 1: pretty organized, and so they are going with the revolutionaries,
- 49:34Speaker 1: which is as we know correct. So this is the
- 49:43Speaker 1: fact that the revolutionaries have managed to get so many weapons. Awesome.
- 49:47Speaker 1: I'm delighted by that. But uh oh, Florian says CP nine.
- 49:53Speaker 1: That's how big and im and that's how I took it.
- 49:55Speaker 1: He has a pigeon, Okay. If there's something about him
- 49:58Speaker 1: that looks different, and I don't don't know if it's
- 50:00Speaker 1: on purpose or if he just changed up his designer,
- 50:04Speaker 1: if I'm remembering wrong, I don't know. So then we
- 50:09Speaker 1: have this like little sort of intermittent moment of viola
- 50:16Speaker 1: dancing flamenco and the narrator talking about how they're drowning
- 50:21Speaker 1: out their sorrows with the sound of music, and King
- 50:26Speaker 1: Rico like being amongst the people announcing that he is
- 50:30Speaker 1: coming back to the king, the king of the or
- 50:34Speaker 1: the chieftain of the Tantata, introducing himself and his daughter
- 50:39Speaker 1: and the Tantata are working on this huge statue memorial
- 50:43Speaker 1: to the people who helped save their kingdom. And then
- 50:49Speaker 1: eventually we go back to Fujiitura and Sengoku, and fujiitur
- 50:59Speaker 1: is saying like, I'm gonna head on out because until
- 51:03Speaker 1: I get law and straw hat, I'm really not going
- 51:06Speaker 1: to be able to show my face anywhere, and Sengoku
- 51:10Speaker 1: is like, all you need to do is apologize and
- 51:14Speaker 1: then Sakazuki can save face, and he says, I don't
- 51:19Speaker 1: want to. I want to save face too, and I
- 51:26Speaker 1: just like, at least he admits it's that petty. I guess.
- 51:30Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know, I don't see it
- 51:33Speaker 1: for this guy. I will say though, that the scene
- 51:35Speaker 1: made me deeply want noodles like very very badly. So
- 51:40Speaker 1: it's got that going for it, and then we've got
- 51:48Speaker 1: do Flamingo talking to Suru. This was because, like when
- 51:55Speaker 1: Rebecca says earlier to Law, what's the matter do Flamingo
- 52:01Speaker 1: is nothing but a bad memory. I had a moment
- 52:03Speaker 1: of like, wait, what is he dead? I didn't think
- 52:06Speaker 1: he was dead. I thought, wait, what you know. I
- 52:10Speaker 1: definitely had a moment of like, did I misunderstand? And
- 52:17Speaker 1: then I realized, like, thinking back, I genuinely don't know
- 52:21Speaker 1: what happened to him, you know. So when we come
- 52:25Speaker 1: here and we actually get to see him chatting with Suru,
- 52:29Speaker 1: I was like, oh, okay, thank god we are checking
- 52:31Speaker 1: in on this, because all of a sudden, I started
- 52:33Speaker 1: doubting a lot of what I had assumed was going
- 52:37Speaker 1: on with him, because I really thought he was left
- 52:40Speaker 1: alive and just taken prisoner, and so to actually get
- 52:43Speaker 1: to see him reassured me a little bit. Don't get
- 52:48Speaker 1: me wrong, by the way, personally, i'd rather he was
- 52:54Speaker 1: dead for the sake of simplicity, for the sake of
- 52:58Speaker 1: this story, though I will acknowledge it's better that he
- 53:03Speaker 1: still be here. And I also just like the way
- 53:09Speaker 1: that he's talking to her. I was so frustrated with
- 53:11Speaker 1: him because he's just the I really appreciated that once
- 53:18Speaker 1: he comes to the end of what he's saying, Suru
- 53:22Speaker 1: just says, do you really believe the garbage that pours
- 53:26Speaker 1: out of your mouth? Which honestly had me cracking up
- 53:29Speaker 1: a little bit. I thought that was really funny. What
- 53:36Speaker 1: he is saying, which is not, to be clear, technically incorrect,
- 53:43Speaker 1: is just that all of this, like if Fujiitura had
- 53:49Speaker 1: wanted to throw in with me, none of this would
- 53:52Speaker 1: have happened. I was holding the reins on all of
- 53:56Speaker 1: the monsters that are out there. They were on me,
- 54:01Speaker 1: and now that you've taken me out of the equation,
- 54:06Speaker 1: they're going to be out here running amok because you
- 54:09Speaker 1: don't have the knowledge or the power over them that
- 54:14Speaker 1: I had. So you guys are about to really really
- 54:19Speaker 1: regret the fact that you decided to let me get
- 54:23Speaker 1: taken out by straw hat. And when he says this,
- 54:28Speaker 1: not only does suwerus say, so you really believe all
- 54:31Speaker 1: this bullshit? She also is just like you lost get
- 54:38Speaker 1: over it, which I have to say that cracked me
- 54:42Speaker 1: up a little bit, just like the suck it up cupcake,
- 54:46Speaker 1: you know that kind of vibe. And also we get
- 54:50Speaker 1: to look at there's like a slow pan over all
- 54:57Speaker 1: of Do Flamingo's restraints because he's chained up, and there's
- 55:02Speaker 1: like a I found it kind of funny. There's chains
- 55:06Speaker 1: of like different sizes wrapped around him, as if to
- 55:09Speaker 1: really emphasize that, like they went and found all the
- 55:13Speaker 1: chains they could find. They went and just like emptied
- 55:17Speaker 1: out the chain warehouse and were like all of them
- 55:23Speaker 1: wrap this man in all of the things that we've got.
- 55:26Speaker 1: So that aspect of it, because you know, I'm just
- 55:30Speaker 1: assuming that at some point he's either going to escape
- 55:34Speaker 1: or somebody will break him out, or he will you know,
- 55:39Speaker 1: he's gonna get put back in power maybe, but yeah,
- 55:43Speaker 1: he's pulling at his restraints really hard enough that a
- 55:47Speaker 1: bunch of the Marines are come running to help Tzuru
- 55:53Speaker 1: and they all have their guns out and everything, and
- 55:56Speaker 1: Dol Flamingo says, I want you to send a message
- 56:00Speaker 1: to the celestial dragons in Mariegeois. Tell me they will
- 56:07Speaker 1: be dragged from their gilded halls. It's been twenty five
- 56:11Speaker 1: years since gold Roger conquered the Grand Line, and no
- 56:14Speaker 1: one's done it. Since his rival white Beard stood before
- 56:18Speaker 1: the throne but met his end having never sat upon it.
- 56:22Speaker 1: So what happens now? Do you think there are more
- 56:25Speaker 1: pirates running wild out there than ever before? But there's
- 56:29Speaker 1: just one empty seat? You get it now? And I
- 56:36Speaker 1: think that, like this is kind of what Lufy's friends
- 56:41Speaker 1: were trying to make happen for him to give him
- 56:44Speaker 1: that seat, and Lufy just doesn't really want it. Now.
- 56:49Speaker 1: I would argue, maybe if you want to be King
- 56:52Speaker 1: of the Pirates, you have to take it whether you
- 56:54Speaker 1: like it or not. But I, like I said, I
- 57:00Speaker 1: do think I understand where Lufi is coming from in
- 57:04Speaker 1: not equating these things to each other, and I think
- 57:08Speaker 1: he's ultimately right, And I am glad that he isn't
- 57:15Speaker 1: going because it's the kind of a shortcut, you know,
- 57:18Speaker 1: in a way. And as he's saying like all of this,
- 57:21Speaker 1: Suru isn't arguing. It seems like she knows he's right
- 57:26Speaker 1: at least about some of this, but she just doesn't
- 57:29Speaker 1: want to give him the satisfaction of, Yeah, if we
- 57:31Speaker 1: had just done what you said and sided with you,
- 57:35Speaker 1: everything would be fine, right. So I'm just going to
- 57:41Speaker 1: jump to the end of the episode because I already
- 57:43Speaker 1: talked about them getting introduced to Bartolomeo's ship and just
- 57:46Speaker 1: talk really quickly about Bartolomeo having all of their autographs
- 57:51Speaker 1: and their wanted posters framed, and it's like the new
- 57:54Speaker 1: wanted posters, by the way, it's not the old ones.
- 57:56Speaker 1: So he went and found updated ones and got them
- 57:59Speaker 1: framed and is presenting each of them with their new bounties.
- 58:06Speaker 1: Lufy's at five hundred million berries, so he is the highest. Frankie, wait, no,
- 58:13Speaker 1: who's Robin? Zoro's three hundred and twenty million. The picture
- 58:17Speaker 1: they have of Zoro is very funny too. He's just
- 58:22Speaker 1: got this expression like somebody's spit in his face. Robin
- 58:25Speaker 1: is one hundred and thirty million, Frankie is ninety four million,
- 58:32Speaker 1: and how much is sorry, I'm trying to find the
- 58:39Speaker 1: spot where they because Oosups is like wildly higher than
- 58:44Speaker 1: two hundred million, that's right, and he's like really upset
- 58:48Speaker 1: because of the picture that they're using, but also the
- 58:51Speaker 1: high height of the bounty is very complimentary. Frankie himself
- 58:56Speaker 1: is very annoyed because he doesn't think us Up deserves
- 58:59Speaker 1: to have a higher back teeth than him, and he
- 59:00Speaker 1: is correct. Sangie's is one hundred and seventy seven million berries,
- 59:05Speaker 1: and they actually have a proper photo of him this time,
- 59:09Speaker 1: but he still looks like an idiot because he's got
- 59:11Speaker 1: his heart eyes thing going on. And then Nanny is
- 59:15Speaker 1: at sixty six million, but she posed for hers, which
- 59:21Speaker 1: she's got her hair up in this like sexy but
- 59:24Speaker 1: very very fun. And then once again Chopper eating cotton
- 59:29Speaker 1: candy with a total of one hundred berries, which is
- 59:34Speaker 1: the most insulting shit puts some respect on my boy's name.
- 59:41Speaker 1: I am disgusted. I hate it so much. And then
- 59:45Speaker 1: soul King Brook eighty three million berries, and they use
- 59:49Speaker 1: a poster from his tour. I have to mention it's
- 59:53Speaker 1: very poorly designed because it says dead or alive, but
- 59:57Speaker 1: the ore is squeezed in after dead, and it's just
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: like it's not it's not well designed, That's all I'm saying.
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: But yeah, so we get like a sort of reset
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: of everybody figuring out like what place they hold in
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: the world government size. And then we have the last
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: scene of the episode, which is a dude who honestly
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: in profile, looks almost identical to do Flamingo, but obviously isn't,
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: and he's got almost what looks to be like a
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: bunch of dice in his hand. He eats something and
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: then he begins to sort of like steam and turn red.
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: It's giving like when Lufy does third gear and there's
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: a guy standing out in front of him, I'm assuming
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: who is like one of his guards. And it was
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: so weird because this guy is standing in a very
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: bow legged, hunched fashion, and that for a moment made
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: me think that he was like nailed to a post
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: behind him and was dead. But I think he's just
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: got rocket launchers on his back. I don't know what's
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: going on with either of these guys, and we don't
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: get any explanation. We just see them and then end
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: of episode. So yeah, I uh oh, oh, yes, thank you.
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: Florian points out Sanji's poster also says only alive, not
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: dead or alive like everybody else's does, which they find
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: a little puzzling. And I also, I don't have any
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: theories about that, to be honest, I don't think I
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: like it, but I don't have theories. But yeah, so
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: that is the end of this arc. I'm guessing like
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: this is it, and I enjoyed it overall. It went
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: on too long for sure. There were definitely a lot
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: of things that I was crazy about, but like for
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: the most part, I actually really liked this one, so
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: I had a good time looking forward to seeing where
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: we go next. So thank you guys so much for listening,
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: Thank you Florian for hanging out today, and appreciate you
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: being here and again working with me when I had
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: to change the date. I hope you guys are enjoying
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: the coverage and until next time to Loo motherfuckers. That
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: was an unspoiled Network podcast.
