Transcript
- 0:02Victor Nieves: The Planned Parenthood folks, they lied to you.
- 0:05Victor Nieves: They say a nine-week baby does not look like a baby.
- 0:08Victor Nieves: I would encourage anybody who's curious, Google it.
- 0:11Victor Nieves: A two-second Google search and tell me if you think a nine-week old baby looks like just a blob, or do you think that that looks like a little human?
- 0:17Victor Nieves: And so the abortion industry, very tellingly, to me, they immediately lie.
- 0:20Victor Nieves: Like they take you in this moment where you're terrified.
- 0:22Victor Nieves: You're scared.
- 0:23Victor Nieves: That's like their whole business model is to take women who are terrified and they're scared and then to lie to them.
- 0:45Victor Nieves: Chemical abortion is arguably the most dangerous thing that an unborn baby in the womb faces in America today.
- 0:52Victor Nieves: Last year we had about 1.1 million abortions in this country, and studies show somewhere around 70% of all of those abortions were from a chemical abortion pill.
- 1:03Victor Nieves: Now a large and growing percentage of those are actually just being distributed by mail, meaning there's no in-person requirement, there's no oversight.
- 1:10Victor Nieves: It's incredibly dangerous, obviously, for the baby.
- 1:13Victor Nieves: It's also very dangerous in many cases for the mother.
- 1:16Victor Nieves: Welcome to Life Defenders.
- 1:17Victor Nieves: I'm Victor Nieves, president of Life Issues Institute.
- 1:20Victor Nieves: Today we have the privilege of being joined by Sierra McLeod.
- 1:23Victor Nieves: She is a pro-life speaker, she's a pro-life advocate, and she has an incredible story, firsthand experience with chemical abortion.
- 1:29Victor Nieves: And thank the Lord, abortion pill reversal.
- 1:32Victor Nieves: Sierra, welcome to the show.
- 1:33SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 1:34Victor Nieves: I think the best place for us to start, because like I said, you really do have an incredible, it's a very moving testimony and story.
- 1:41Victor Nieves: Tell us about your experience, your story as somebody who has lived through this.
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: So I was one of those women who couldn't understand how a woman could ever have an abortion.
- 1:51SPEAKER_00: I definitely never thought that I would even question having an abortion until I found myself in a really difficult situation.
- 1:58SPEAKER_00: I was in the middle of a divorce.
- 1:59SPEAKER_00: I already had four children, and I found myself pregnant.
- 2:03SPEAKER_00: Um, fear was the only emotion that I could feel at the time.
- 2:09SPEAKER_00: And I called Planned Parenthood.
- 2:11SPEAKER_00: I ended up scheduling an appointment and went there.
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: Whenever I walked in, it was the worst feeling that you could ever feel.
- 2:19SPEAKER_00: Um, it felt comparable to a funeral.
- 2:21SPEAKER_00: There was probably 20 to 30 other women in there for the exact same thing I was.
- 2:25SPEAKER_00: And um, I found out I was nine weeks, three days pregnant.
- 2:29SPEAKER_00: They told me I would take the first pill and it would stop the baby's heartbeat.
- 2:33SPEAKER_00: And then 24 hours later, I would take the second pill and I would basically have what they considered a heavy period.
- 2:40SPEAKER_00: Um, I remember asking them, so once I take this first pill, it'll stop the baby's heartbeat.
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: And they said yes on two different occasions.
- 2:47SPEAKER_00: And then uh I also asked them if it would look like a baby, and they told me no, it would not look like a baby.
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: So I had to wait 24 hours at that time to come back.
- 2:58SPEAKER_00: So, you know, all night long I wrestled with it.
- 3:00SPEAKER_00: I kept praying to God for a sign, anything God, just someone to text, someone to call, a sign on the side of the road, a song, anything that would, you know, tell me I didn't have to do this.
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: And there was nothing.
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: So the next morning it was a two-hour drive.
- 3:15SPEAKER_00: And again, just praying the whole time, like, what do I do, God?
- 3:18SPEAKER_00: What do I do?
- 3:19SPEAKER_00: And I just that fear was suffocating me.
- 3:22SPEAKER_00: So I ended up taking the first pill and immediately that fear shifted to shame and a different kind of fear of what did I just do?
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: Like, how can I fix this?
- 3:32SPEAKER_00: Like, is there any way to fix this?
- 3:34SPEAKER_00: Um, and I left the clinic completely distraught.
- 3:39SPEAKER_00: As I was pulling out of the parking lot, there was a sign in the grass and it said, if you took the first pill, it's not too late.
- 3:44SPEAKER_00: And there was my sign.
- 3:46SPEAKER_00: So I immediately Googled that phrase and the abortion pill reversal rescue network hotline came up and I called them and I said, Listen, I'm nine weeks, three days pregnant.
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: I just took the first pill.
- 3:57SPEAKER_00: Like, please don't give me the song a dance.
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: Like, what does this mean?
- 4:01SPEAKER_00: And the lady on the phone was so kind and so sweet.
- 4:05SPEAKER_00: And she's like, No matter what, you're going to be okay.
- 4:07SPEAKER_00: She explained that, you know, they would connect me with the doctor and I would start progesterone.
- 4:11SPEAKER_00: They would get me connected to the nearest woman's center, and they would make sure my baby still had a heartbeat.
- 4:17SPEAKER_00: So I talked to the physician.
- 4:19SPEAKER_00: He was also incredible.
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: I even asked him if I was his daughter, if he felt it like it was safe enough for me to go through with this.
- 4:27SPEAKER_00: And he said, absolutely.
- 4:28SPEAKER_00: My fear was like, you know, did I cause harm to my baby?
- 4:32SPEAKER_00: So um I started the progesterone and the next morning I went to a woman center.
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: And again, they were just so kind.
- 4:40SPEAKER_00: There was no shame, there was no judgment.
- 4:42SPEAKER_00: They just wanted to make sure that I was okay first.
- 4:44SPEAKER_00: And then obviously that my baby was okay.
- 4:47SPEAKER_00: Um, she put the probe on my belly and said there was a heartbeat.
- 4:50SPEAKER_00: Finally, that fear lifted and that shame, and just I couldn't help but thank Jesus in that moment, knowing it was all him.
- 4:58SPEAKER_00: So yeah, I gave birth to my little girl on October 14th, 2023.
- 5:04SPEAKER_00: So she'll be three years old in October.
- 5:06SPEAKER_00: Her name is Sawyer, and she's incredible.
- 5:09Victor Nieves: Well, that's amazing.
- 5:10Victor Nieves: Sierra, first of all, I want to say thank you for sharing your story.
- 5:13Victor Nieves: There are many, many women who do share your story, but for whatever reason, I understand why, but they don't speak out on it.
- 5:19Victor Nieves: I want you to just to know your story saves lives.
- 5:21Victor Nieves: There are other women who will hear your story and they will maybe they'll hear of abortion pill reversal in that moment where they're looking for that sign.
- 5:28Victor Nieves: Maybe it's not a physical sign on the road, but maybe it's your voice right now on a podcast or on a radio.
- 5:34Victor Nieves: So please keep sharing your story.
- 5:36Victor Nieves: It's incredibly important.
- 5:37Victor Nieves: As you did, there's a few things that stood out that I just kind of want to highlight, one of which is the difference.
- 5:42Victor Nieves: It's like a tale of two cities.
- 5:44Victor Nieves: So when you were talking to the Planned Parenthood folks, they lied to you.
- 5:47Victor Nieves: I mean, they straight up lied to you.
- 5:49Victor Nieves: They they say this a nine-week baby, they say does not look like a baby.
- 5:53Victor Nieves: I would encourage anybody who's curious, Google it.
- 5:56Victor Nieves: A two-second Google search and tell me if you think a nine-week-old baby looks like uh just a blob, or do you think that that looks like a little human?
- 6:03Victor Nieves: And of course, women who have unfortunately not got abortion pill reversal and they did deliver their dead baby, they can say firsthand that that is not just a heavy period.
- 6:11Victor Nieves: That's a baby, and you see it.
- 6:12Victor Nieves: You come face to face with it.
- 6:14Victor Nieves: And so the abortion industry, very tellingly to me, they immediately lie.
- 6:17Victor Nieves: Like they take you in this moment where you're terrified, you're scared.
- 6:20Victor Nieves: That's like their whole business model is to take women who are terrified and they're scared and then to lie to them.
- 6:25Victor Nieves: Yeah.
- 6:26Victor Nieves: Talk about doing a great disservice.
- 6:28Victor Nieves: So we contrast that.
- 6:29Victor Nieves: They're building all of their business on lies.
- 6:32Victor Nieves: Contrast that with the folks you got in touch with, with the abortion pill reversal hotline, with, you know, the different centers that came and wrapped around you, told you the truth for one thing.
- 6:42Victor Nieves: They didn't give you, you know, uh, smoke and mirrors.
- 6:44Victor Nieves: They told you the truth.
- 6:45Victor Nieves: They were there for you.
- 6:46Victor Nieves: They were there for your baby.
- 6:48Victor Nieves: As somebody who's lived through this, it's kind of a redundant question, I suppose.
- 6:52Victor Nieves: But did you see, I mean, did you see that difference?
- 6:54Victor Nieves: And what does that say to you about the pro-life folks versus planned parenthood and just the contrast there?
- 7:01SPEAKER_00: Oh, it was night and day.
- 7:02SPEAKER_00: Um, I think before I kind of misjudged pro-life.
- 7:07SPEAKER_00: I thought like they were like the judgmental ones and the ones that were like hard on women and whatnot, but it was actually the opposite.
- 7:15SPEAKER_00: And even more so now that I'm sharing my story, I've never had a pro-life person like put any judgment or shame on me.
- 7:22SPEAKER_00: They just are like so kind and gracious and understanding.
- 7:27SPEAKER_00: But on the flip side, pro-choice, even though I chose to reverse my abortion, which is a choice, I have so much hate from them, like just so much backlash because I didn't choose the choice that they wanted me to choose.
- 7:39SPEAKER_00: And when I was leaving the Planned Parenthood, they saw how distraught I was.
- 7:44SPEAKER_00: Like I was hysterical.
- 7:46SPEAKER_00: And there was no one there, no one to hug me, no one to, you know, say, hey, here's a card with the phone number if you need somebody.
- 7:53SPEAKER_00: Nothing.
- 7:54SPEAKER_00: Um, no one even checked on me, you know, 24 hours later when I was supposed to take the second pill.
- 7:59SPEAKER_00: No one called.
- 8:00SPEAKER_00: But at the Women's Center and Heartbeat International, it was endless.
- 8:04SPEAKER_00: I mean, it was endless, endless texts, endless calls.
- 8:07SPEAKER_00: What can we do?
- 8:07SPEAKER_00: How can we help?
- 8:09SPEAKER_00: They prayed with me before they even knew my baby still had a heartbeat.
- 8:13SPEAKER_00: They prayed after.
- 8:14SPEAKER_00: I'm super close to several of the women that I encountered during that season of my life.
- 8:20SPEAKER_00: They're just truly good people that genuinely care.
- 8:23SPEAKER_00: And I feel like even if my daughter wouldn't have had a heartbeat, they still would have been there for me.
- 8:28SPEAKER_00: They still would have been there to help me get through what I had just done.
- 8:32Victor Nieves: They absolutely would.
- 8:32Victor Nieves: I I know so many of them who do it, and I promise that they would.
- 8:36Victor Nieves: Talk to us a little bit more.
- 8:37Victor Nieves: I can only imagine if I try and put myself in your shoes, the fear, the confusion, there's so much going on.
- 8:42Victor Nieves: I mean, your head's got to be spinning.
- 8:44Victor Nieves: You find out that there's hope, abortion pill reversal, but you're not sure.
- 8:47Victor Nieves: I mean, this is how could you really have hope in that situation?
- 8:51Victor Nieves: As soon as you find out that there is that heartbeat, what does that do?
- 8:54Victor Nieves: What happens in your head?
- 8:56SPEAKER_00: If honestly felt like a miracle, the amount of peace that came over me.
- 9:00SPEAKER_00: Obviously, there was still a little bit of fear of like, what if I hurt my baby?
- 9:04SPEAKER_00: But I kept remembering what the physician had told me that there's no link to birth defects or anything like that, that the baby will be completely healthy.
- 9:13SPEAKER_00: So I kept holding on to that.
- 9:14SPEAKER_00: And then obviously just knowing that God spared my baby, you know, his mercy was so good.
- 9:19SPEAKER_00: And so yeah, that fear that consumed me quickly changed to just hope and trust in God.
- 9:25SPEAKER_00: I knew like the situation that I was in in the middle of my divorce and what that was going to look like.
- 9:30SPEAKER_00: I just knew he was in control.
- 9:31Victor Nieves: So, Sierra, and this is kind of hard for many people to understand.
- 9:34Victor Nieves: You mentioned that because you changed your mind, the abortion advocates hate you, which by their own framing would seem inconsistent, right?
- 9:43Victor Nieves: They always act like they care about choice.
- 9:44Victor Nieves: They act like they care about women.
- 9:46Victor Nieves: Well, you made a choice.
- 9:47Victor Nieves: You made a choice to change your mind.
- 9:49Victor Nieves: And we've seen that the abortion industry hates that almost more than anything else.
- 9:53Victor Nieves: They hate whenever a woman changes her mind.
- 9:55Victor Nieves: They they hate abortion pill reversal, which for the record, I'm not a doc.
- 9:59Victor Nieves: We've had great doctors on the program before, but they will all explain.
- 10:02Victor Nieves: Very safe.
- 10:03Victor Nieves: Uh, this is supplemental progesterone.
- 10:04Victor Nieves: Progesterone has been used in pregnancy for many, many years.
- 10:07Victor Nieves: Um, like they told you, there is no connection to any birth defect.
- 10:10Victor Nieves: There is no harm that we know, again, not as a doctor, but just as those who have explained it to us, this is extremely safe, supplemental progesterone.
- 10:17Victor Nieves: So it's not that the abortion industry hates it because it's dangerous.
- 10:21Victor Nieves: It's not that they hate it for any, you know, there's no nice reason that they could hate it.
- 10:25Victor Nieves: They only hate it for some sick, malicious reason.
- 10:29Victor Nieves: So tell us about that.
- 10:30Victor Nieves: I mean, it's almost even surprising for me, despite the fact that I should expect this.
- 10:34Victor Nieves: They went after you.
- 10:35Victor Nieves: What did that look like?
- 10:37SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so I um had the opportunity to share at the Walk for Life um last year um in Columbus.
- 10:45SPEAKER_00: Got to share like three minutes of my story.
- 10:47SPEAKER_00: So you can imagine how difficult that was.
- 10:49SPEAKER_00: But um I ended up taking that clip and posting it on TikTok several months later, probably about six months later, just again because I was afraid of the backlash that would come, especially on social media, especially TikTok.
- 11:00SPEAKER_00: And I posted it and it went viral, thousands and thousands of views within a couple of days.
- 11:07SPEAKER_00: And there was thousands of support comments from people that were pro-life, and they were thanking me for sharing my story and advocating and whatnot.
- 11:16SPEAKER_00: But there was a lot of comments as well from pro-choice who were like, This is dangerous, like, how can you share this?
- 11:23SPEAKER_00: Like all of these things.
- 11:25SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, based on what, you know, there's nothing dangerous about what I did, or saying it doesn't work.
- 11:30SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, well, here's my proof that it does work, my daughter, you know, and there's 8,000 more that have been born that are documented.
- 11:38SPEAKER_00: And so my stance is kind of neat because I originally was choosing to have an abortion and then I chose to reverse it so I can see both sides.
- 11:46SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, I'm not saying that, you know, my choice was the only choice or whatever.
- 11:52SPEAKER_00: I'm saying I got to choose.
- 11:53SPEAKER_00: So I should be accepted by pro-choice and pro-life, but I'm only accepted by pro-life.
- 11:58SPEAKER_00: Pro choice doesn't want to hear what I have to say.
- 12:00SPEAKER_00: And that speaks for itself.
- 12:02Victor Nieves: Yeah, it does.
- 12:03Victor Nieves: So when they got mad about that, I mean, uh, you know, I we've we've had experience with this as well, where we post something and and it gets the attention of the wrong side.
- 12:11Victor Nieves: The wrong side of town shows up.
- 12:13Victor Nieves: They were upset, but they're upset and they're incorrect.
- 12:16Victor Nieves: I mean, and that kind of goes to the point, like they're talking about this is dangerous.
- 12:19Victor Nieves: How could you tell people as though you are doing something wrong by sharing what saved your baby?
- 12:25Victor Nieves: I mean, I hope we all see the irony in this situation.
- 12:28Victor Nieves: They're not upset about the pill, which would have killed your child.
- 12:30Victor Nieves: They're upset about the thing that saved it.
- 12:32Victor Nieves: The thing that saves children, as you mentioned, thousands and thousands and thousands of babies have been saved.
- 12:38Victor Nieves: Thousands of mothers have found out about APR and been able to save their child.
- 12:42Victor Nieves: I mean, what a blessing that is.
- 12:44Victor Nieves: They're mad about that and not the thing that would otherwise be killing their children.
- 12:49Victor Nieves: If there's something, I mean, this just kind of paints the picture of how much misinformation there is about this.
- 12:54Victor Nieves: If there was something that you wish everyone knew about abortion pill reversal, as somebody who's done it, who saved your baby through it, what would you like everyone to know?
- 13:03SPEAKER_00: Um, that it's a second chance.
- 13:05SPEAKER_00: It's literally God's mercy in your life.
- 13:08SPEAKER_00: It's completely safe.
- 13:09SPEAKER_00: It's literally the best decision I ever made.
- 13:12SPEAKER_00: It's a miracle, like truly.
- 13:14Victor Nieves: Sierra, as you travel, because you're a speaker, you're an advocate for life, as you travel around and you talk to different groups of people, what's the reception been for you?
- 13:21SPEAKER_00: It's incredible.
- 13:22SPEAKER_00: The best thing that I could ever be a part of outside of being a mother, obviously that's the highest calling in the world.
- 13:28SPEAKER_00: But just how many people are truly like good people to their core and care about women and babies, especially men.
- 13:36SPEAKER_00: There are so many men involved in the pro-life movement that genuinely care about women and children.
- 13:43SPEAKER_00: And um, I think that's also where pro-choice tells women that men shouldn't have a say and men don't know what they're talking about and all these things, like anti-men.
- 13:53SPEAKER_00: And it's just been so beautiful to see so many like good men still standing up for what's right and what's wrong.
- 13:59SPEAKER_00: It's just been incredible.
- 14:00SPEAKER_00: It strengthened my relationship with God and how I feel about Christianity and the church and women actually like sticking together and women empowerment.
- 14:10SPEAKER_00: I know that's like a whole like left thing, but truly in the pro life, it's a bunch of women supporting other women, making sure that they're okay.
- 14:18SPEAKER_00: And it's it's such an incredible opportunity.
- 14:22SPEAKER_00: It's it's so cool to be a part of just such a strong group of people that truly care about other people.
- 14:28Victor Nieves: Have you been able to uh to meet any of the other women?
- 14:31Victor Nieves: I mean, now that there's so many thousands of women who have just like you saved their baby's life through APR.
- 14:36Victor Nieves: Is there a community of any kind?
- 14:37Victor Nieves: Have you ever had the chance to meet any of them?
- 14:39SPEAKER_00: So um unfortunately, a lot of the women stay silent, you know, I'm sure because of shame and fear and whatnot.
- 14:47SPEAKER_00: But because I shared my story on TikTok, I've had women reach out to me on TikTok um through private message, and I've been able to help them reverse their abortions.
- 14:57SPEAKER_00: And the first woman I ever helped, she just delivered her baby two weeks ago.
- 15:02SPEAKER_00: Her son is completely healthy and perfect, and I get to meet him in October.
- 15:07Victor Nieves: That's amazing.
- 15:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 15:10Victor Nieves: That's got to be like the greatest feeling in the world.
- 15:12Victor Nieves: So you've now had, you said multiple times you've had the opportunity to tell people about APR.
- 15:17Victor Nieves: So they don't know anything about it.
- 15:18Victor Nieves: They come to you because they hear your story.
- 15:19Victor Nieves: It's incredible.
- 15:20SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 15:21SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 15:21SPEAKER_00: It's it's huge.
- 15:22SPEAKER_00: I kept having this, you know, gut feeling that I needed to share my story.
- 15:26SPEAKER_00: I needed to share my story.
- 15:26SPEAKER_00: And obviously, there was a lot of fear there, just shame and judgment and fear of what people will think.
- 15:32SPEAKER_00: But that feeling just wouldn't quit.
- 15:34SPEAKER_00: So I ended up sharing and um then posting it on TikTok.
- 15:39SPEAKER_00: And everyone kept saying, you know, it's you're gonna help save babies, you're gonna help save moms.
- 15:43SPEAKER_00: But I never thought like I would actually know them personally, like like tangibly see it.
- 15:49SPEAKER_00: And I think I'm at 21 women now that are pregnant.
- 15:53SPEAKER_00: Well, one just gave birth.
- 15:54SPEAKER_00: So 20 women now that um I've helped direct them to um abortion pill reversal network and get them connected and reverse their abortion.
- 16:03SPEAKER_00: So it's it's such an awful lot.
- 16:06Victor Nieves: Yeah.
- 16:06Victor Nieves: That's so incredible.
- 16:07Victor Nieves: And you know, it's one of those things.
- 16:09Victor Nieves: So you've mentioned, and I totally understand why, that there are a lot of people who have abortion in their past and they're afraid to speak out on it.
- 16:16Victor Nieves: And you get it, you totally understand.
- 16:18Victor Nieves: I'm so appreciative though.
- 16:20Victor Nieves: We've had so many friends on the show who are former abortionists who have done thousands of abortions themselves with their own hands.
- 16:26Victor Nieves: We've had so many women who have had multiple abortions, then they changed their mind, worked for planned parenthood, changed their mind.
- 16:32Victor Nieves: You know, women who have saved their babies.
- 16:34Victor Nieves: We've spoken to it to a handful now through abortion pill reversal.
- 16:37Victor Nieves: And it's always a common theme.
- 16:39Victor Nieves: People are afraid to share their testimony.
- 16:41Victor Nieves: They're afraid to share their story.
- 16:42Victor Nieves: And you totally understand why.
- 16:44Victor Nieves: But I just encourage everyone to keep doing it because it is so, it's so tremendously powerful.
- 16:49Victor Nieves: And as a country, we we sometimes forget just how many people have been impacted by abortion.
- 16:55Victor Nieves: If we look at the statistics, it's a shocking percentage.
- 16:58Victor Nieves: In some cases, people say as much as one in three people have either had an abortion themselves, uh, men who have paid for an abortion, who have told someone else to go get an abortion, men who put a woman in a position where she felt like she needed to go and have an abortion.
- 17:12Victor Nieves: So this is something that's weighing on the national conscience.
- 17:15Victor Nieves: And it's so important to have people who have been there, who have stood in those shoes, who can relate to it, who can understand it.
- 17:20Victor Nieves: And just because people, you know, we all screw up, we all make mistakes, just because somebody did something wrong in the past doesn't mean that they have to just hide that.
- 17:29Victor Nieves: I mean, you can use your testimony.
- 17:31Victor Nieves: We see this as believers, we see this all throughout the scripture.
- 17:33Victor Nieves: People who have crazy testimonies, who were doing just the worst stuff.
- 17:37Victor Nieves: I mean, you know, we we look at uh the road to Damascus, and it's like, I mean, we all have something where we can talk about the mistakes that we've made.
- 17:46Victor Nieves: And if you can use those mistakes to save other people's lives, oh my goodness, do it.
- 17:52Victor Nieves: Oh my goodness, that is one of the most amazing things that we could do.
- 17:55Victor Nieves: And so if you have a testimony, everybody listening as some sort of a testimony, share it.
- 17:59Victor Nieves: Because we have a nation that's been so thoroughly saturated by the impact of abortion.
- 18:05Victor Nieves: Arguably one of the best things that we could do to change the culture is to have people who have been in those shoes, who have walked through exactly what you have walked through, because you can communicate it in a way that I can't.
- 18:16Victor Nieves: You can talk to those people in a way that I simply can't.
- 18:19Victor Nieves: So you mentioned on that note, you mentioned the fear that you were experiencing.
- 18:23Victor Nieves: You mentioned the chaos that was in your life at that time.
- 18:26Victor Nieves: And it seemed like abortion was the only answer.
- 18:29Victor Nieves: And as someone who would have never even considered it, and I believe you, you would have never even considered it had it not been for all of that.
- 18:35Victor Nieves: There are potentially, potentially, there's a woman right now listening to this show who's in that exact same position.
- 18:40Victor Nieves: What would you say to her?
- 18:41SPEAKER_00: Fear is a liar.
- 18:43SPEAKER_00: Um, you can do this.
- 18:45SPEAKER_00: Uh the shame and heartbreak and whatnot that would come after choosing an abortion certainly can't be better than, you know, following through with his pregnancy.
- 18:57SPEAKER_00: There's a very famous quote from a slavery abolitionist, Frederick Douglas.
- 18:57SPEAKER_00: He said that he would work with anyone to do good and he would work with no one to do evil. There's so much help, so much support.
- 18:59SPEAKER_00: You're definitely not alone.
- 19:01SPEAKER_00: Again, like fear is just such a liar.
- 19:03SPEAKER_00: All the things that I was afraid of didn't come to pass.
- 19:07SPEAKER_00: I was in the middle of a divorce and a custody battle and finances and all the things that I justified why I couldn't have another baby.
- 19:15SPEAKER_00: None of it came to pass.
- 19:17SPEAKER_00: God is a good God and somehow he always makes a way.
- 19:21Victor Nieves: He does.
- 19:22Victor Nieves: So, Sierra, I appreciate you know that insight on it.
- 19:25Victor Nieves: I'm curious.
- 19:26Victor Nieves: The abortion industry, when they lie, and you know, it's it's one of the most disgusting things that they possibly do.
- 19:33Victor Nieves: When they lie, they often do it by omission.
- 19:36Victor Nieves: Sometimes they won't tell you stuff, right?
- 19:38Victor Nieves: They pretend that when you go to an abortion facility, they're gonna give you all of the information that you need to know.
- 19:44Victor Nieves: They're gonna share with you.
- 19:45Victor Nieves: Did they tell you about abortion pill reversal?
- 19:48Victor Nieves: Did they mention that?
- 19:49SPEAKER_00: No.
- 19:49SPEAKER_00: No.
- 19:50SPEAKER_00: No.
- 19:50SPEAKER_00: I had no idea it was even a thing until I saw that sign.
- 19:54Victor Nieves: So what do you think would happen?
- 19:55Victor Nieves: Now, this is kind of, I guess, just speculation.
- 19:57Victor Nieves: Maybe we know the answer.
- 19:59Victor Nieves: What do you think would happen if the abortion industry told women when they went in there and, you know, they were afraid and all that kind of stuff?
- 20:04Victor Nieves: What if they just had the decency to say, hey, by the way, you know, should you change your mind?
- 20:08Victor Nieves: You walk out the door in 10 minutes, you change your mind.
- 20:11Victor Nieves: Call us.
- 20:11Victor Nieves: We have a pretty good chance of reversing this.
- 20:14Victor Nieves: Um, what do you think would happen?
- 20:15SPEAKER_00: Well, it would be an astronomical change.
- 20:17SPEAKER_00: I mean, I think a majority of the women would change their mind.
- 20:21SPEAKER_00: It's like this mask is in front of your face.
- 20:23SPEAKER_00: Like that fear is so loud and like you're not even yourself.
- 20:27SPEAKER_00: It's you're almost numb.
- 20:28SPEAKER_00: And then I think after you take the pill, it's like, whoa, like you come back to like real life and you're like, what did I do?
- 20:37SPEAKER_00: And I've talked to so many women that have felt the exact same thing.
- 20:40SPEAKER_00: So in that moment, if they knew, like you can reverse what you just did.
- 20:44SPEAKER_00: Like, here's like almost a, you know, a miracle in a bottle.
- 20:48SPEAKER_00: Like, I think a majority of women would choose that because they would be like, wait, I don't have to do this.
- 20:54Victor Nieves: Why do you think Planned Parenthood doesn't?
- 20:56Victor Nieves: If you had to speculate, ha having having interacted with them and seeing the way that they lie to you and they misrepresent, let's suppose that they were decent people who actually cared about women.
- 21:04Victor Nieves: I know that's not the truth, but if they were decent people, why would they not tell you about that?
- 21:09SPEAKER_00: I've questioned the same thing.
- 21:10SPEAKER_00: I've wondered the same thing.
- 21:11SPEAKER_00: I don't know if it's a money thing.
- 21:14SPEAKER_00: I don't know if it's just this mindset of like, we can do this, so we're going to do this.
- 21:20SPEAKER_00: Like, no one's gonna take this from us.
- 21:22SPEAKER_00: This is, you know, our right to choose.
- 21:25SPEAKER_00: And it's like that weird drive in some of those women there that like it's like a power trip almost, I feel like.
- 21:33Victor Nieves: Sierra, you you mentioned all of the things, the fear, the factors, maybe it was the economic situation.
- 21:39Victor Nieves: You you mentioned you were going through a tumultuous time in your family.
- 21:43Victor Nieves: When you decided to keep your daughter, and thank God, I'm sure she's been such an amazing blessing in your life.
- 21:49Victor Nieves: Looking back, now that she's here and now that you get to, you know, spend time with her and love on her, what do you make of those fears that were in your head, those concerns, those uh, you know, were they legitimate?
- 21:59Victor Nieves: I mean, do you look back and go, oh boy, I was right.
- 22:01Victor Nieves: I was I was really right about all that.
- 22:04SPEAKER_00: Um, I think in the moment it felt very real.
- 22:07SPEAKER_00: It felt very tangible, like it had convinced me that that was truth, but it absolutely wasn't.
- 22:13SPEAKER_00: Um, I can't imagine my life without her now.
- 22:16Victor Nieves: So an abortion pill reversal gave you that chance.
- 22:19Victor Nieves: Well, Sierra, thank you so much for everything that you do.
- 22:21Victor Nieves: Thank you for sharing your story.
- 22:22Victor Nieves: I hope and I pray that you'll continue to do so.
- 22:24Victor Nieves: There are so many people I can only imagine the influence, and you'll never know this side of heaven, but someday, someday you'll hear all of the people who literally saved their baby because you continued to share your story.
- 22:34Victor Nieves: I hope it's an encouragement, by the way, to all of our listeners to do the same thing, to gain courage from you, share your story, share their story uh prospectively.
- 22:42Victor Nieves: Um, Sierra, thank you so much.
- 22:44Victor Nieves: We I appreciate that.
- 22:45SPEAKER_00: Thank you so much.
