- 16:17Speaker 1: big fans of that.
- 16:19Speaker 3: And the third just in case because we're doing this
- 16:22Speaker 3: that and the third because you know it's always a third.
- 16:25Speaker 4: It's three.
- 16:32Speaker 2: That's good all right man? Yeah, all right? Next up?
- 16:38Speaker 2: Top ten Spike lead movies. This is tough. I think
- 16:44Speaker 2: you're first on this one. Oh where are you?
- 16:48Speaker 4: Yeah, because I didn't do the measurement first, top ten
- 16:52Speaker 4: Spike lead first.
- 16:53Speaker 2: So just go ahead, and I might not Okay, go ahead,
- 16:56Speaker 2: I might not.
- 16:57Speaker 4: All right, do the right thing you did. I know
- 17:01Speaker 4: what you're going with.
- 17:03Speaker 3: Do the right thing, because I feel like do the
- 17:05Speaker 3: right thing was he had arrived before then, but I
- 17:09Speaker 3: feel like do the right thing is the one that
- 17:12Speaker 3: really shifted things for his career in terms of impact effect.
- 17:19Speaker 3: It was just like it was just a movement, and
- 17:22Speaker 3: you know, it resonated so hard outside of the black
- 17:26Speaker 3: community because it was looking racism square in the face. Yeah,
- 17:30Speaker 3: because as before, he had school days and we talked
- 17:32Speaker 3: about the conflict between light skinned dark skin, talking about that,
- 17:37Speaker 3: but that's still very like yeah, yeah in the white side,
- 17:40Speaker 3: they're still not looking over there and watch out and
- 17:43Speaker 3: she's got to have It was about you.
- 17:45Speaker 4: Know, female empowerment, owning her sexuality. But do the right thing.
- 17:49Speaker 4: That's when it's like, look, you can argue that.
- 17:52Speaker 1: I think you can make a good argument that that's
- 17:54Speaker 1: his magnum opus, because it is. It's probably to me
- 17:57Speaker 1: the most quintessential Spike Lee movies. Yeah, Like if I
- 18:00Speaker 1: was like, somebody's like, who's Spike Lee? That that is
- 18:05Speaker 1: Spike Lee. That is I mean everything else is obviously
- 18:09Speaker 1: Spike Lee. But like this is like he was a
- 18:12Speaker 1: not a rivet but uh, going away from it. But
- 18:15Speaker 1: do the Right Thing is the most it's original.
- 18:18Speaker 3: It's like you know what I'm saying, Malcolm, Yeah, for sure,
- 18:22Speaker 3: exactly has to be because Malcolm X was based on
- 18:24Speaker 3: somebody else's life, based on the book about somebody.
- 18:28Speaker 4: But do the right thing. That is.
- 18:32Speaker 1: Almost an tours approach to filmmaking, Like no other director
- 18:36Speaker 1: can make do the right things. Only somebody else could
- 18:39Speaker 1: make Malcolm X. Yeah, right, but nobody can make do
- 18:43Speaker 1: the right thing. People's got Malcolm X. Probably still a
- 18:46Speaker 1: good movie, but he do do the right thing. You be, like,
- 18:49Speaker 1: I don't know why he might not.
- 18:52Speaker 2: I'm saying so yeah, speaking of Malcolm X, it was
- 18:56Speaker 2: gonna be one of those two pig.
- 18:59Speaker 4: Is fine.
- 19:00Speaker 1: I go back and forth with Malcolm X and ray
- 19:03Speaker 1: as the best biopick I've ever seen. Uh, And I
- 19:10Speaker 1: read with Malcolm X's biography out of Biography, and it
- 19:16Speaker 1: was amazing how much of it is in the movie,
- 19:19Speaker 1: you know, but it's also so culturally like get your
- 19:21Speaker 1: hand out of my pocket.
- 19:22Speaker 2: We still say that.
- 19:24Speaker 4: To me.
- 19:25Speaker 1: It's one of Denzel's top five performances. As he was,
- 19:30Speaker 1: he was the introduction of Malcolm X to a lot
- 19:33Speaker 1: of us, for sure. That's the first thing I knew
- 19:36Speaker 1: about him, actually, I believe, not even for sure.
- 19:40Speaker 4: And he made Malcolm X so relevant again to like
- 19:44Speaker 4: people that might not have known.
- 19:45Speaker 3: It was just like it was it was a wave.
- 19:47Speaker 3: Everybody had the X hats all of this and like,
- 19:50Speaker 3: this is a real person. Was going crazy crazy looking
- 19:55Speaker 3: out the window with the assault rifle and Malcolm Malcolm
- 19:59Speaker 3: is one of my people to yeah, the actual Malcolm X,
- 20:04Speaker 3: because I feel like he just represented a human being
- 20:09Speaker 3: that stood, that stood for something much larger than himself.
- 20:13Speaker 3: But he was he was flawed, he had he had
- 20:15Speaker 3: to shaky pass. He reformed himself Detroit read he reformed himself.
- 20:21Speaker 3: And then even on the you know, reformation, and then
- 20:24Speaker 3: he's in the Nation of Islam and then you know,
- 20:27Speaker 3: even within that he has another transformation and it was
- 20:30Speaker 3: just like to see all of that human being, it
- 20:33Speaker 3: was just like, Yo, this dude is human like changing,
- 20:36Speaker 3: changing his way of thinking, changing his philosophy, not not
- 20:39Speaker 3: once but numerous times, growing, evolving, and it was just
- 20:43Speaker 3: like that man right there.
- 20:46Speaker 4: He was only thirty nine years man, young man.
- 20:49Speaker 2: Like sometimes when you look at Malcolm X and Martin, Martin.
- 20:52Speaker 4: Laurs, Martin Steve Harvey, dal Hughley, you look.
- 20:58Speaker 1: At Malcolm X, Martin King and how young they were
- 21:02Speaker 1: when they died, I'd be like, I didn't.
- 21:03Speaker 2: I haven't done.
- 21:04Speaker 1: No, I ain't done ship many they have done stuff.
- 21:08Speaker 1: They are relevant today, will always be relevant always.
- 21:11Speaker 2: And I'm going to Jersey Mikes. You going to Jersey Mikes.
- 21:14Speaker 2: That's it, man.
- 21:15Speaker 1: We never we never gonna measure up to I made
- 21:17Speaker 1: some videos and some stuff and these people are like
- 21:21Speaker 1: they are ingrave. No, but everybody has their part of
- 21:23Speaker 1: the story. But you know what I'm saying, Martin Llowynce,
- 21:25Speaker 1: he made a great show.
- 21:27Speaker 3: And you feel you feel Malcolm because you know, as
- 21:30Speaker 3: much as we honor Martin Luther King and his approach
- 21:33Speaker 3: to civil rights and you know the movement. And I
- 21:36Speaker 3: never considered Martin Luther King solved by any means, but
- 21:41Speaker 3: Malcolm X was that side of the coin.
- 21:43Speaker 4: That's in a lot of us like now, man, fuck.
- 21:45Speaker 2: That, yeah, fuck you, fuck that. He also to think
- 21:51Speaker 2: about Malcolm X that I like in other stuff. I
- 21:56Speaker 2: love him, like the movie One Night in Miami.
- 22:01Speaker 3: He was so good for the Harlem get out of
- 22:04Speaker 3: my mind every time, every time, fantastic.
- 22:08Speaker 2: God Father Harlem.
- 22:09Speaker 3: I love the dude that play. He's great there, he
- 22:12Speaker 3: is amazing and d When Mario van Peebles was Malcolm
- 22:18Speaker 3: that little relationship right there, I was. I was fully
- 22:21Speaker 3: invested every Timelcolm every time. I love Malcolm and his
- 22:26Speaker 3: memory and his legacy.
- 22:27Speaker 2: Absolutely, yeah, hell yeah, all right, you're up.
- 22:33Speaker 4: All right.

- 24:48Speaker 1: the show.
- 24:48Speaker 3: Fike Lee Movies hands down, if not my favorite, I
- 24:51Speaker 3: haven't seen that. Clockers is is based on the novel
- 24:55Speaker 3: by Richard Price, but it's about a murder and the
- 24:59Speaker 3: suspect is is this drug dealing kid and the cops
- 25:03Speaker 3: is on his neck and so everything unravels from there.
- 25:08Speaker 3: They're in the projects in Brooklyn and Clockers to me
- 25:12Speaker 3: is just a fire movie topped the bottom. It's stressful,
- 25:15Speaker 3: it's a lot going on, it's colorful. I like the
- 25:17Speaker 3: way it looks. I like the cinematography on it, and
- 25:22Speaker 3: I was just compelled all the way throughout the movie.
- 25:24Speaker 3: He's got a nice little twist on it. And that
- 25:27Speaker 3: was my introduction to Makai Pfeiffer. Isaiah Washington was fantastica
- 25:31Speaker 3: and Keith David is in it, John Taturo and Harvey
- 25:35Speaker 3: cottail delivered. They gonna deliver, and it was just like,
- 25:40Speaker 3: I don't know, it just felt real and it just
- 25:42Speaker 3: felt like, Yo, this is this is dope. And that
- 25:44Speaker 3: was that was really when Delroy Lindo registered for me,
- 25:49Speaker 3: even though he was in he was in Crookland, but
- 25:52Speaker 3: his role and uh in Clockers, it was just like
- 25:57Speaker 3: he was scary but he was warm at the same Yeah. Yeah,
- 26:00Speaker 3: lay So clack Is is definitely one of my favorite
- 26:03Speaker 3: Spike Lee joints.
- 26:04Speaker 4: Got it.
- 26:04Speaker 2: I'm gonna go now. Let me qualify this with saying
- 26:07Speaker 2: one of the performances is the worst performance and I
- 26:09Speaker 2: hate it. He got game. Oh, I love the movie.
- 26:14Speaker 1: Ray Allen Godo dog man God, that's what makes it
- 26:19Speaker 1: even better. He is, but Spike that in the movie
- 26:25Speaker 1: for ray Allen to miss a shot, he would have
- 26:27Speaker 1: to tell him to miss.
- 26:27Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 26:28Speaker 1: He was like, if he shot, it's going in. But
- 26:31Speaker 1: Denzel big big state. Yeah great you but Na Denzel,
- 26:41Speaker 1: he hit that dude.
- 26:43Speaker 3: He hit him in the throat with the first Yeah,
- 26:47Speaker 3: why he choked down and then he finished them off.
- 26:50Speaker 2: I loved him. But Denzel was so good in that movie.
- 26:53Speaker 1: And I just I was playing a lot of basketball
- 26:55Speaker 1: at that time, and I wanted to get recruited, and
- 26:57Speaker 1: I wanted some of the things that happened to me
- 26:58Speaker 1: that happened to Ray Allen. But that didn't happen at
- 27:02Speaker 1: you know, Pine Valley College.
- 27:04Speaker 2: Division four.
- 27:06Speaker 1: That's when I was getting cooked by that white dude.
- 27:08Speaker 1: He crossed me so bad. Told I remember on time
- 27:10Speaker 1: of Williams, I got dunked on. Big white dude dunked
- 27:15Speaker 1: on me over and over. I said, let me guard
- 27:17Speaker 1: the guard. This white boy was cooked.
- 27:22Speaker 2: I'm over here, he I said, man and missus Division three.
- 27:28Speaker 1: The band came out of the bed. Was like, this
- 27:32Speaker 1: came out and the boys was going to town. I
- 27:34Speaker 1: said this same for me.
- 27:36Speaker 4: You realize this other avenue, you.
- 27:38Speaker 2: Know what I am funny, I should do that.
- 27:43Speaker 1: And then I went to college and Nate Robinson and
- 27:45Speaker 1: Will Conroy and Brandon Royan played for the team.
- 27:48Speaker 2: I would have tried out for Oh wow, nigga, that's
- 27:51Speaker 2: not me.
- 27:52Speaker 5: Brandon Roy, Nate Robinson, Real Conroy, Trey Simmons, and regular
- 27:59Speaker 5: white dude cooks me at Pine Valley College Community.
- 28:03Speaker 2: Nate Robinson would have broke my arm. Don't ball with
- 28:07Speaker 2: it and broke my arm. Brandon roy might have be
- 28:11Speaker 2: in a Hall of Famer if he didn't get hurt.
- 28:12Speaker 2: For sure, he was that good.
- 28:14Speaker 4: Had the intention for sure.
- 28:16Speaker 2: Bro Kobe and playing he played against Kobe Bryant. What
- 28:19Speaker 2: you want me to do? Trying to play center? Move boy.
- 28:25Speaker 2: There's levels to it, Chris.
- 28:28Speaker 4: Levels, for sure.
- 28:30Speaker 3: I'm gonna go school days, school days. When I first saw,
- 28:35Speaker 3: you know, I was a kids.
- 28:36Speaker 4: College. What are they talking about?
- 28:39Speaker 3: As I got older and you know, went to college
- 28:42Speaker 3: and stuff like that, and you know, dealt more in
- 28:44Speaker 3: depth with you know, did that kind of be within
- 28:47Speaker 3: the black community?
- 28:48Speaker 4: Light skinned? Dark Skin?
- 28:50Speaker 3: I was just like, this movie is tremendous and they
- 28:52Speaker 3: had great songs, great great cast. That movie is fantastic, man,
- 28:57Speaker 3: And I feel like the movie is it's still relevant,
- 29:01Speaker 3: It's still dope, great message, great delivery.
- 29:05Speaker 4: It's fantastic.
- 29:08Speaker 1: I'm gonna go inside Man. This is the most right
- 29:14Speaker 1: movie to me, but it's still I mean, he did
- 29:17Speaker 1: you give you the shot, He gives you the visuals
- 29:19Speaker 1: of Spiken, give you the visuals, the story material, and
- 29:23Speaker 1: the approach was like, yeah, I feel like Spike, Spike.
- 29:28Speaker 2: Was doing over here.
- 29:29Speaker 3: Here's what I noticed that was very Spike within the movie.
- 29:32Speaker 3: His visual his usual tracking shot. He gonna give you that.
- 29:37Speaker 3: He used the same cinematographer that he had been using
- 29:40Speaker 3: in previous films, and he I could tell Spike Lee
- 29:46Speaker 3: made sure this film felt very New York.
- 29:50Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 29:50Speaker 3: Yeah, from how the people were talking, like when they
- 29:53Speaker 3: were interrogating people, I was like, Yo, this feels mad
- 29:56Speaker 3: New York. And so Spike Lee has always had the
- 29:59Speaker 3: gift of making New York feel like a character in
- 30:02Speaker 3: his movies. So those are the elements where you you
- 30:06Speaker 3: could be you could watch that going in not knowing
- 30:08Speaker 3: who directed it and be like, is this a Spike
- 30:12Speaker 3: Lee Joe? Once you see that shot, that shot don't
- 30:14Speaker 3: come in until later on. Once you see the shot, that's.
- 30:22Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 30:22Speaker 4: Inside Man is dope, dope. I love it. I'm gonna
- 30:26Speaker 4: go crookling.
- 30:27Speaker 3: Yeah, Crookland was a good time, shows us a family
- 30:31Speaker 3: in Brooklyn, New York. I'm invested in the whole dynamics.
- 30:34Speaker 3: I be liking like family dynamics like that when that
- 30:37Speaker 3: dog popped about that and god damn couch bed situation
- 30:43Speaker 3: when Queeny was dead, My god, and that lady carried
- 30:48Speaker 3: on like that.
- 30:50Speaker 2: I saw that one way late, but I liked it.
- 30:52Speaker 2: Alfred Wood, yeah.
- 30:54Speaker 4: Delroy Lindo. Yeah, and that movie Man Brooklyn is a
- 31:00Speaker 4: good time.
- 31:01Speaker 2: Yeah, I like that joint. All right, I'm gonna go
- 31:03Speaker 2: Jungle Fever okay, Yeah, good movie and also like kind
- 31:10Speaker 2: of like do the right thing.
- 31:11Speaker 1: I don't remember, I'm not a matter of fact, almost certain,
- 31:13Speaker 1: but no movie I had watched had touched on that
- 31:17Speaker 1: subject before like that like that, like because it was raw,
- 31:22Speaker 1: big raw, It.
- 31:23Speaker 2: Was raw, And I feel like people still say Jungle
- 31:26Speaker 2: Fever to this day.
- 31:27Speaker 4: We hear did that come out two ninety one one? Oh? Yeah?
- 31:31Speaker 2: See I was eight. Yeah that really should probably should
- 31:33Speaker 2: have been watching, you know what I'm saying.
- 31:36Speaker 3: Yeah, it was ninety one, summer ninety one that came
- 31:39Speaker 3: out and it did well at the box office.
- 31:42Speaker 2: Is one of his more successful killing Sam Jackson in there.
- 31:47Speaker 4: Sam Jackson, halle Berry's intro Asie Davis and Ruby d
- 31:52Speaker 4: You know he always gonna use them.
- 31:53Speaker 1: He's gonna put him in. Yeah, man, he gonna put
- 31:55Speaker 1: him in. But no, I really enjoyed that movie. I
- 31:59Speaker 1: feel like, yeah, that was to me, Spikes. I don't
- 32:02Speaker 1: want to say, heyday, but he's made up. He's made
- 32:06Speaker 1: a good movie every decade, Like the nineties was he
- 32:09Speaker 1: like stamped that forty acres and the mule was.
- 32:12Speaker 2: Oh man, because it was cement here.
- 32:14Speaker 4: Because he did school days in eighty eight do the
- 32:17Speaker 4: right thing.
- 32:18Speaker 3: In eighty nine he comes around the corner, he does uh,
- 32:22Speaker 3: he does Mobeta Blues and ninety Jungle Fever, next one
- 32:27Speaker 3: Jungle Fever.
- 32:27Speaker 4: Yeah, Malcolm X. Yeah, I mean bruh. He was.
- 32:33Speaker 1: That's why he can go to all the Knicks games now. Yeah,
- 32:35Speaker 1: because he did his homework.
- 32:36Speaker 3: He was killing though that little that little run right there,
- 32:41Speaker 3: Jungle Fever. Jungle Fever was so unsettling on the interracial
- 32:47Speaker 3: dating front and the family drug addiction front.
- 32:49Speaker 2: Yeah, it was unserd like you this is raw. Yeah.
- 32:53Speaker 3: You got the racist Italians in New York and then
- 32:56Speaker 3: the black folks are racist as well. Yeah, it was
- 33:00Speaker 3: just everything that was going on. It was just like damn,
- 33:03Speaker 3: and then you got a father killing his own son.
- 33:07Speaker 2: It was very heavy.
- 33:08Speaker 4: It was heavy.
- 33:09Speaker 1: Dog.
- 33:10Speaker 4: I was like, God, damn, man, very heavy. Give us
- 33:13Speaker 4: a chance.
- 33:17Speaker 2: You're up.
- 33:18Speaker 4: I should steal your next pick.
- 33:19Speaker 2: Don't you dare do it? Don't you dare? Let you
- 33:23Speaker 2: have it because you gotta I know, you gotta listen.
- 33:25Speaker 4: I'm gonna go twenty fifth hour with Edward Norton.
- 33:28Speaker 2: That's I don't think I saw that one. That's departure
- 33:32Speaker 2: that clocks.
- 33:34Speaker 4: It's it came out like I want to say, two
- 33:36Speaker 4: thousand and three or four.
- 33:39Speaker 2: I didn't see that one.
- 33:40Speaker 3: Sorry.
- 33:41Speaker 4: It's a good, well made film about uh.
- 33:44Speaker 3: Edward Norton's like, you know, he's in the life of crime,
- 33:46Speaker 3: but he's trying to get out and this is his final.
- 33:48Speaker 4: Day or whatever.
- 33:49Speaker 3: But it's a good story. It's a kind of departure
- 33:52Speaker 3: from the usual Spikey vibe.
- 33:55Speaker 4: But it's dope though.
- 33:56Speaker 1: Yeah, No Better Blues is the one Tony was trying
- 33:59Speaker 1: to steal. Part of this for me, first of all,
- 34:02Speaker 1: was seven when this came out. This is one of
- 34:04Speaker 1: the movies my aunt had in her collection and I
- 34:07Speaker 1: just watched it all the time, and I remember that
- 34:10Speaker 1: probably is my first Nzel movie, yeah, because it was
- 34:14Speaker 1: what ninety that was ninety ninety.
- 34:17Speaker 2: So when did Glory come out?
- 34:19Speaker 4: Eighty nine?
- 34:20Speaker 1: Okay, I definitely saw My Better Blues first, I know,
- 34:22Speaker 1: I saw Glory later. Saw Glory in school actually, which I.
- 34:26Speaker 4: Think we watched in school.
- 34:28Speaker 2: Yeah, uncut, Like I didn't see it in theaters.
- 34:32Speaker 4: I saw it in school.
- 34:32Speaker 2: Yeah, I saw it in school. I remember being like, dang,
- 34:35Speaker 2: this is crazy. Yeah, they were showing that to children.
- 34:39Speaker 3: Man.
- 34:40Speaker 2: But My Better Blues I remember, I just thought it
- 34:42Speaker 2: was so cool and live. He dntel gots lit busted
- 34:44Speaker 2: and I was like, he can't play that, he can't
- 34:46Speaker 2: play the Wong with that. He couldn't do it.
- 34:51Speaker 4: You just realized, damn.
- 34:52Speaker 3: And it introduced you into a world that you wasn't
- 34:55Speaker 3: privy to, like jazz musicians be doing it.
- 34:58Speaker 1: And the movie had the blue hughey a lot of times,
- 35:01Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. I ain't know about no
- 35:03Speaker 1: color correction at that time, but I remember thinking like, oh,
- 35:05Speaker 1: this is no Better and Blue.
- 35:08Speaker 2: I can see it. But no, I love that movie.
- 35:11Speaker 2: I love the performance from from Denzel.
- 35:12Speaker 1: And also Spike's a solid actor in those little movies,
- 35:15Speaker 1: that little roles.
- 35:17Speaker 4: He's like a quirky type of actor, but he'd be
- 35:19Speaker 4: pulling it off. He pulled it off. And Milcolm, he
- 35:22Speaker 4: pulled it off a little bit of blues. He pulled
- 35:24Speaker 4: it off and do the right thing.
- 35:25Speaker 2: And all the commercials. Michael Jordan mars Black.
- 35:28Speaker 3: And he's always so weird in himself, but it's just
- 35:31Speaker 3: like he serves the roles he's playing the character.
- 35:36Speaker 1: Yeah, he's just But even when you see him on
- 35:38Speaker 1: the side at the I mean the courtside of its games,
- 35:41Speaker 1: he'd be having like orange glasses.
- 35:43Speaker 2: So it don't seem that far from possibility that, yeah.
- 35:48Speaker 4: This is who he is everything. So that's ten. That
- 35:51Speaker 4: should be ten.
- 35:51Speaker 2: That is ten.
- 35:52Speaker 1: I'm just gonna say, girl six trash No No, I
- 35:56Speaker 1: mean as a film, yes, as a child.
- 35:59Speaker 4: Oh yeah, I was like the beginning, I know exactly
- 36:02Speaker 4: what you're talking about.
- 36:04Speaker 3: Why did my aunt have I know exactly what you're
- 36:06Speaker 3: talking I was like, mana ha killed it on the soundtrack,
- 36:10Speaker 3: but Teresa around them beginning, I was not expecting that.
- 36:17Speaker 4: I was not ready for that moment. In Time, The Cups,
- 36:22Speaker 4: The Cups.
- 36:24Speaker 2: I was not.
- 36:26Speaker 3: It, but I got the same. I hated that movie
- 36:29Speaker 3: as a child, I said, I hated that Moviemen. Spike
- 36:34Speaker 3: me got some stinkers.
- 36:35Speaker 1: But but you know what he absolutely does and I
- 36:40Speaker 1: want to do this to him on this episode. But boy,
- 36:43Speaker 1: I hated Red Hook Summer.
- 36:45Speaker 4: Oh Man.
- 36:45Speaker 1: I ordered something else on red Box, and Red Hook
- 36:49Speaker 1: Summer came. I was like, oh, this is Spike Lee movie.
- 36:53Speaker 2: Boy. I didn't go back to red Box for four
- 36:57Speaker 2: months because I was like, this happened again.
- 36:59Speaker 4: I'm lose my mind.
- 37:01Speaker 2: I want to say I like Miracle. Say that because
- 37:03Speaker 2: I like war movie. When the levees broke.
- 37:07Speaker 4: Oh, we're talking documentaries. I ain't even know. I'm not
- 37:10Speaker 4: I just want to saystic.
- 37:12Speaker 1: I cried so hard. I learned so much about Hurricane
- 37:16Speaker 1: Contria from that document.
- 37:18Speaker 3: Him is a documentary filmmaker for Little Girls When the
- 37:21Speaker 3: levees broke, He's fantastic.
- 37:23Speaker 2: I cried.
- 37:25Speaker 1: I didn't realize as a person who's not from New Orleans,
- 37:29Speaker 1: I just thought it was like a natural disaster, which
- 37:31Speaker 1: it was, but there was so much more to it
- 37:35Speaker 1: than that that could have prevented it. That made the
- 37:39Speaker 1: rescue efforts worse. I learned so much from that, the
- 37:42Speaker 1: way black people were, why they didn't leave, Like it
- 37:45Speaker 1: ain't just we don't want to leave, you know, if
- 37:48Speaker 1: he watched the news, it's just we don't want to leave.
- 37:50Speaker 2: And the levees broke. We don't even know what that.
- 37:53Speaker 2: But he was like Noah, Army Corps, engineers and all that.
- 37:57Speaker 2: I was like them.
- 37:58Speaker 1: People ain't stand no chance. I got this placed from
- 38:01Speaker 1: New Orleans. Rebecca was from New Orleans, born, raised.
- 38:05Speaker 4: The same hand with the head girls.
- 38:06Speaker 1: Who made no different. God that made the food. Even
- 38:11Speaker 1: though she lives in she lived. She moved to Houston
- 38:15Speaker 1: for a while, and she moved past we're.
- 38:17Speaker 4: Going when we're going to visit because that food.
- 38:19Speaker 1: Was Bob Brothers fane just so please. She been right
- 38:23Speaker 1: that high of you loving that food when I mean
- 38:28Speaker 1: and what.
- 38:28Speaker 4: He said, that food was so good. Everything she made good,
- 38:32Speaker 4: I couldn't stop. Oh.
- 38:35Speaker 1: She made vegan versions of all the She made a
- 38:38Speaker 1: vegan regular dressing, vegan dressing for toe regularness, vegan version
- 38:43Speaker 1: of toe.
- 38:44Speaker 2: Putting the puting toes. Look, this is for me. She
- 38:48Speaker 2: had all set to the side. For him.
- 38:50Speaker 4: It was dirty, right, So I was in heaven that day.
- 38:54Speaker 4: I was I ain't never gonna forget this.
- 38:56Speaker 2: You know what else? She said to go to Dressey Minx,
- 38:59Speaker 2: Man watch you.
- 39:00Speaker 3: I want to do an honorable mention on Spike Lee,
- 39:02Speaker 3: though I could low key replaced Twenty fifth Hour with this,
- 39:05Speaker 3: but since you know, he directed Original Kings of Comedy,
- 39:10Speaker 3: so I feel like he forgot that he did even
- 39:16Speaker 3: though it's not technically a Spike Lee joint. Nah, he directed,
- 39:21Speaker 3: I didn't need I knew that for a moment. I
- 39:23Speaker 3: remember seeing it be like, that's a Spike Lee joint,
- 39:27Speaker 3: kind of the sort. The shot ain't there, though, the
- 39:30Speaker 3: shot is not there, so that's why I'm leaving it
- 39:33Speaker 3: like in the it could very well be.
- 39:35Speaker 4: Up in here.
- 39:35Speaker 2: I remember seeing the VCR case Spike all right, man bye,
