- 0:01Speaker 1: Now seven wor presents no Mark Simon Shaw. Well, well
- 0:08Speaker 1: we'll get to the super Bowl. We'll get to the
- 0:10Speaker 1: Guthrie kidnapping, bring all the latest, We'll get the Washington Post,
- 0:13Speaker 1: We'll get the voter ID, We'll get to the crazy Mayor.
- 0:16Speaker 1: We'll get to Gallain. Maxwell testifying today, lots to talk about,
- 0:21Speaker 1: Like you, I probably I don't feel so great. Stomach full,
- 0:24Speaker 1: stomach ache from last eating too much. Super Bowl party,
- 0:27Speaker 1: you know, yesterday, of course super Bowl Sunday. Today they
- 0:31Speaker 1: call it miswork Monday. A lot of people call in
- 0:35Speaker 1: sick today or plan ahead and take the day off
- 0:37Speaker 1: because of the super Bowl party. So twenty six million,
- 0:41Speaker 1: twenty six million people have taken the day off today.
- 0:47Speaker 1: Maybe I should have too, but no, no, it's better
- 0:50Speaker 1: to work. Super Bowl was possibly the most boring Super
- 0:56Speaker 1: Bowl game ever. It was just a total mis match.
- 1:01Speaker 1: The season, it was a very weird season. Scheduling was
- 1:06Speaker 1: bad because the Patriots, they called it a soft schedule.
- 1:11Speaker 1: They didn't get any really tough games. They got really
- 1:13Speaker 1: easy teams to play, got them to seventeen and three,
- 1:16Speaker 1: which they probably didn't deserve. Then some weird things happen
- 1:20Speaker 1: in the playoffs where the teams that should have gone
- 1:22Speaker 1: to the super Bowl, Denver, the Bills, the Ramp the
- 1:25Speaker 1: teams that should have gone because just the way the
- 1:27Speaker 1: playoffs worked out, they somehow accidentally got eliminated. So you
- 1:31Speaker 1: had the Patriots, who weren't really ready for a super
- 1:34Speaker 1: Bowl against Seattle. So the Patriots not enough offense against
- 1:38Speaker 1: the best defense in the world, and it was a
- 1:41Speaker 1: kind of a dull game. Patriots are going to be great.
- 1:44Speaker 1: They were in the Super Bowl a couple of years
- 1:46Speaker 1: too early. Otherwise it went pretty well. You know, the
- 1:51Speaker 1: commercials were great, they were really well done, but they
- 1:55Speaker 1: didn't have the impact they usually have. A lot of
- 1:58Speaker 1: people not that thrilled with the commercials. I think the
- 2:02Speaker 1: reason is those commercials on the Super Bowl really dazzled you.
- 2:06Speaker 1: But now in the world of AI and Instagram and TikTok,
- 2:11Speaker 1: you see so many unbelievable videos AI videos, so many
- 2:15Speaker 1: unbelievable videos every second, all day long, every day that
- 2:20Speaker 1: by the time you get the Super Bowl, it's nothing
- 2:21Speaker 1: I've seen better than that on TikTok all all week.
- 2:24Speaker 1: So that's going to be a problem. I'm I'm gonna
- 2:27Speaker 1: deal with that because those commercials are important. Bad Bunny,
- 2:31Speaker 1: it was pretty good. He was nothing offensive. Look great,
- 2:35Speaker 1: move great. Then I don't know what the ally's singing.
- 2:37Speaker 1: It's certainly a snappy, bouncy Now you see a guy
- 2:42Speaker 1: like that can't really be offensive. Nobody knows what the
- 2:45Speaker 1: hell he's saying. What the hell is this guy talking about?
- 2:47Speaker 1: Nobody knows. Well, if you speak Spanish, I guess you
- 2:49Speaker 1: know what the hell he's saying, but most of us don't.
- 2:51Speaker 1: We don't know what the hell he said, but I
- 2:53Speaker 1: don't know. Look, hey, you listen. Musically, it's it's not
- 2:58Speaker 1: Carnegie Hall, it's the super Bowl. That's good enough for
- 3:00Speaker 1: the super Bowl. You know. The problem is, we'll talk
- 3:03Speaker 1: about this later. It used to be a mainstream artist
- 3:07Speaker 1: who everybody knew would perform at the super Bowl. It'd
- 3:10Speaker 1: be Billy Joel, it'd be the Rolling Stones, it'd be
- 3:14Speaker 1: the most mainstream. Everybody every age knew them, loved them.
- 3:18Speaker 1: You can't do that anymore. We'll talk about this a
- 3:20Speaker 1: little later. You can't come up with any artist that
- 3:22Speaker 1: everybody would like or everybody would know. It's also splintered nowadays.
- 3:30Speaker 1: Nancy Guthrie, the kidnapping, the deadline is today at five
- 3:34Speaker 1: o'clock for six million dollars to be delivered in bitcoin.
- 3:39Speaker 1: I don't know what's going to happen at five o'clock today.
- 3:41Speaker 1: I'll just give you all the latest on it over
- 3:44Speaker 1: the weekend. And one reason you're not hearing much. You
- 3:46Speaker 1: noticed the first couple of days you heard a lot
- 3:48Speaker 1: and that goofy local sheriff was having a press conference
- 3:52Speaker 1: every hour, every two hours, there were these press conferences,
- 3:54Speaker 1: the statements that were revealing stuff. All of a sudden,
- 3:57Speaker 1: it went quiet the last four or five days. That's
- 4:00Speaker 1: because the FEDS took over the FBI, and the FEDS
- 4:03Speaker 1: took over and the FBI. Feds are very quiet. They
- 4:07Speaker 1: don't reveal things, they keep it, they keep a lid
- 4:09Speaker 1: on everything. So that's what's been going on for the
- 4:12Speaker 1: last few days. What we can piece together is they believe,
- 4:18Speaker 1: they have reason to believe the kidnappers were in the
- 4:20Speaker 1: house a long time, over a half hour. That's unusual. Now,
- 4:25Speaker 1: a woman in that age who's not mobile, who can't
- 4:28Speaker 1: walk without a cane, it's very hard to move her,
- 4:31Speaker 1: and that might have taken a while. But they believe
- 4:33Speaker 1: they were in the house doing something, and that's why
- 4:36Speaker 1: they've been back in the house all weekend. They've been
- 4:39Speaker 1: seen coming in removing suitcases and bags full of stuff,
- 4:44Speaker 1: some sort of evidence. They've even gone through the septic
- 4:47Speaker 1: tank of the house. They believe that while the kidnappers
- 4:51Speaker 1: are there, they might have disposed of evidence, flushed it
- 4:53Speaker 1: down the toilet. That's what they were looking for. They've
- 4:56Speaker 1: been back in the house looking for DNA. They don't
- 4:58Speaker 1: believe that it's possible for kidnappers to be in the
- 5:02Speaker 1: house for over a half hour and not leave something,
- 5:05Speaker 1: if not fingerprints, DNA, something some kind of clues. They've
- 5:09Speaker 1: been up on the roof. It's believed there might have
- 5:12Speaker 1: been another camera up on the roof. But the other
- 5:14Speaker 1: reason they were on the roof is if you're seeing
- 5:17Speaker 1: the video where it shows the roof, it's bright white.
- 5:19Speaker 1: It's really clean white the roof, and neighbors have pointed
- 5:24Speaker 1: out that when you live in that area, your roof
- 5:26Speaker 1: gets very dirty, it gets grimy, it gets gray from
- 5:29Speaker 1: the elements, and that because it was so white, it
- 5:34Speaker 1: was so new looking. They believe that she recently had
- 5:36Speaker 1: a roof redone and they're looking at that right now.
- 5:40Speaker 1: They believe, for various reasons, that the kidnappers were familiar
- 5:45Speaker 1: with this woman, familiar with the house, and that could
- 5:50Speaker 1: indicate friends, relatives, but more likely it could indicate workers,
- 5:53Speaker 1: people that were recently in the house doing work. If
- 5:56Speaker 1: there's any kind of servants there, a housekeeper, an aid
- 6:01Speaker 1: or something like that, obviously they've talked to them. But
- 6:05Speaker 1: if she recently had her roof redone, they'll be talking
- 6:07Speaker 1: to those workers, anybody it's been in the house or
- 6:10Speaker 1: familiar with the situation. So five o'clock today is the deadline.
- 6:14Speaker 1: They want six million dollars in bitcoin. You've seen the
- 6:17Speaker 1: video where Savannah Guthrie and the family say we just
- 6:22Speaker 1: want our mother back, we want to celebrate with her.
- 6:25Speaker 1: We'll pay. And that's a very very very carefully scripted
- 6:31Speaker 1: statement that she made. The FBI has hostage negotiators, experts
- 6:35Speaker 1: at how to talk to kidnappers, and they've worded that
- 6:38Speaker 1: thing very carefully with keywords, trigger words, things that appeal
- 6:43Speaker 1: in the right way to kidnappers. So that's why it
- 6:45Speaker 1: was so carefully read. Other than that, we'll just see,
- 6:50Speaker 1: we'll see. It turns out, we find out now when
- 6:54Speaker 1: her mother went missing and she wanted to go to
- 6:57Speaker 1: the police. Savannah Guthrie first called Senator Mark Kelly, the
- 7:01Speaker 1: Arizona Senator spoke to him first and asked him to
- 7:06Speaker 1: call the police. Asked he's the senator from Arizona. Asked
- 7:09Speaker 1: him to call the authorities and get them going. So
- 7:14Speaker 1: that's how it all started. FBI believes this is some
- 7:20Speaker 1: it's not. In other words, they've said it's not a
- 7:22Speaker 1: traditional kidnapping. Something's not traditional here. A they were in
- 7:26Speaker 1: the house way too long. Also, ransom notes go to
- 7:30Speaker 1: the family. In this case, they're sending the ransom notes
- 7:34Speaker 1: to the media. They're sending it to local TV stations.
- 7:38Speaker 1: That's very unusual. That's extremely unusual. They don't quite know
- 7:42Speaker 1: what that means. It might just mean they want it
- 7:45Speaker 1: to go very public for some reason. Otherwise, why wouldn't
- 7:48Speaker 1: you just send it to a family. Usually when a
- 7:50Speaker 1: kidnapping happens, nobody hears about it until it's over, because
- 7:53Speaker 1: it's right to the family and they keep it quiet.
- 7:56Speaker 1: But the ransom notes are going to the media, extremely unusual,
- 8:02Speaker 1: so not traditional. Also, they were in the house a
- 8:05Speaker 1: very long time. The neighborhood where she lives, very very
- 8:09Speaker 1: close to the Mexican border. It's just a few miles away.
- 8:12Speaker 1: So they're also thinking that these kidnappers could have come
- 8:15Speaker 1: from Mexico or they could have gone to Mexico. In
- 8:18Speaker 1: one of the ransom demands, it said USD US dollars
- 8:24Speaker 1: instead of just six million dollars six million USD usd.
- 8:29Speaker 1: It's usually a phrase, a term used by foreigners. Americans
- 8:33Speaker 1: don't usually use it. That's another reason they suspect Mexico. So, hey,
- 8:40Speaker 1: Gallaine Maxwell testifies today. She's going to do it from jail,
- 8:45Speaker 1: by zoom. It's in front of the Congressional Committee. She's
- 8:48Speaker 1: going to testify in the Epstein stuff. She has already
- 8:53Speaker 1: said she'll take the Fifth Amendment. Now her conviction, she's
- 8:57Speaker 1: gotten appeal coming up. She goes back into a court
- 8:59Speaker 1: to appeal her conviction, so that would justify the Fifth Amendment.
- 9:03Speaker 1: You don't want to do anything to screw up her
- 9:05Speaker 1: upcoming appeal, so you won't hear much of anything. You'll
- 9:08Speaker 1: get to look at her, but don't expect much to
- 9:12Speaker 1: come out of that. I've been reading through the Epstein
- 9:13Speaker 1: files all weekend. It's fascinating. You just google, just google
- 9:20Speaker 1: Epstein files. It'll take you to the Department of Justice
- 9:23Speaker 1: website where they have it's called they call it the
- 9:25Speaker 1: Epstein Library. It has a search bar, so in there
- 9:30Speaker 1: you type whatever name you want. It'll bring you all
- 9:33Speaker 1: the things that are in the Epstein files. Just for
- 9:35Speaker 1: the hell of it. I typed my name. I came
- 9:37Speaker 1: up six times. Nothing bad, nothing bad, all harmless, innocent stuff.
- 9:42Speaker 1: I always kept my distance from Epstein, but he was
- 9:47Speaker 1: going to come to a luncheon where I was the MC.
- 9:50Speaker 1: So that's how one thing got in there. He was
- 9:53Speaker 1: friends with Jackie Martlin, Jackie the joke Man, emailing back
- 9:56Speaker 1: and forth of them, so I got mentioned in one
- 9:58Speaker 1: of those emails. Nothing is totally harmless, innocent stuff, that
- 10:02Speaker 1: kind of stuff. Who else is all through it? But
- 10:05Speaker 1: Woody Allen is all through it now. Woody Allen continued,
- 10:10Speaker 1: You know, after Hollywood got done with him, he continued
- 10:12Speaker 1: to make movies. But to make those movies and there
- 10:15Speaker 1: were low budget movies. All the Woody Allen films, good films,
- 10:17Speaker 1: but low budget. He had to go find wealthy people
- 10:21Speaker 1: to finance the movies outside of Hollywood, so Epstein was
- 10:24Speaker 1: one of them. He got Epstein to finance the movies,
- 10:27Speaker 1: and Epstein would pay for his movies. Now, in exchange
- 10:30Speaker 1: for that, Woody Allan has to keep showing up at
- 10:32Speaker 1: Epstein's house whenever Epstein tells him, please come to my
- 10:35Speaker 1: dinner party. Please come to this party. I'm having lunch
- 10:38Speaker 1: with these people. Please come. So whenever Epstein had a
- 10:41Speaker 1: bunch of CEOs or whoever he was trying to impress,
- 10:44Speaker 1: he'd have Woody Allen come and sit with them at dinner.
- 10:47Speaker 1: That was the price for the financing this films. Dick
- 10:50Speaker 1: Cavett shows up in the Epstein files. I guess Woody
- 10:55Speaker 1: Allen's very close to Dick Cavett. Woody Allen must have
- 10:57Speaker 1: dragged him into this. Cabot not as much as what
- 11:01Speaker 1: he owaned, but he wanted some financing. He was looking
- 11:04Speaker 1: to do a PBS special. You know when you see
- 11:07Speaker 1: those big PBS specials, somebody has to pay for them.
- 11:11Speaker 1: PBS very rarely pays for him. Somebody has to finance them.
- 11:15Speaker 1: So there was going to be an American Master's Profile
- 11:18Speaker 1: atic Cabot. But Cabot had to get the financing, so
- 11:22Speaker 1: Epstein volunteered to pay it. It was four hundred and
- 11:25Speaker 1: eighty thousand dollars now in exchange for that. You'll see
- 11:28Speaker 1: in the emails. He wants Cavet to show up at
- 11:30Speaker 1: this lunch with a bunch of his friends. He wants
- 11:33Speaker 1: Cabot to come to this party he's having. He wants
- 11:35Speaker 1: Cabot to come to this dinner he's having. So that's
- 11:38Speaker 1: the price you pay. The most embarrassing one of these
- 11:41Speaker 1: college presidents. Epstein would make big donations to the colleges,
- 11:47Speaker 1: but some of the I don't want to mention names
- 11:48Speaker 1: because some of them I know. But these college presidents,
- 11:51Speaker 1: they would be at his house every week and constantly
- 11:55Speaker 1: calling him and coming to his house every which way.
- 11:59Speaker 1: Then yeah, some Steve Tish is in there. It doesn't
- 12:02Speaker 1: look so good, Steve Tish. They're always talking about women.
- 12:04Speaker 1: And there's one email exchange he's trying to there's some
- 12:08Speaker 1: young woman, not underage, but a younger woman, let's say,
- 12:12Speaker 1: in her twenties. Tish is trying to invite her to
- 12:16Speaker 1: Boston for the weekend. And she said, you know, I'm
- 12:18Speaker 1: in school, I go to college. I can't come. So
- 12:22Speaker 1: but I don't think it's not a problem for Steve Tish.
- 12:25Speaker 1: Remember Bob Kraft with the with that little strip mall
- 12:31Speaker 1: massage parlor whatever. I mean. If that didn't get them
- 12:34Speaker 1: in trouble with the NFL, the Steve Tish thing won't.
- 12:37Speaker 1: Otherwise it's pretty harmless. Hey, we have a new cardinal
- 12:42Speaker 1: began this weekend. His first service was this Sunday Friday.
- 12:46Speaker 1: There was the big luncheon, you know, to welcome the
- 12:48Speaker 1: new cardinal. I noticed it was not like the other cardinals.
- 12:54Speaker 1: It was not like Dolner O'Connor. I noticed the governor
- 12:57Speaker 1: didn't come, the mayor didn't come. A lot of people
- 12:59Speaker 1: didn't come for the new cardinal, and a lot of
- 13:02Speaker 1: people not crazy about this new cardinal. He's sort of
- 13:05Speaker 1: a left wing, woke cardinal. He doesn't sound great, you know, Dolan,
- 13:11Speaker 1: besides being the most magnificent, wonderful guy you could ever know,
- 13:14Speaker 1: and a great leader, very inspirational. This guy Dolan incredible speaker,
- 13:21Speaker 1: makes amazing speeches. This guy doesn't sound so great. He's
- 13:25Speaker 1: not the great speaker here he is.
- 13:27Speaker 2: Some folks like to get away, take a holiday from
- 13:31Speaker 2: the neighborhood. I'm in a New York state of mind,
- 13:37Speaker 2: concrete jungles where dreams are made of There's nothing you
- 13:41Speaker 2: can't do now you're in New York.
- 13:45Speaker 1: Uh, all right again, not the most impressive speaker in
- 13:49Speaker 1: the world. But he's the new Cardinal. Ronald Hicks is
- 13:51Speaker 1: his name. Maybe he'll get better, Maybe he'll get better.
- 13:56Speaker 1: But you know, we keep saying that about mom Donnie,
- 13:58Speaker 1: but it's I don't know. And we'll get to my Donnie,
- 14:00Speaker 1: and why the snow didn't get picked up so fast?
- 14:03Speaker 1: And got a whole lot more to get to. We'll
- 14:05Speaker 1: get to voter id, we'll get to the Washington Post.
- 14:10Speaker 1: Big mess over there. Everybody, you're getting laid off. The
- 14:13Speaker 1: CEO quit resigned. He didn't resign, he got fired. I'll
- 14:20Speaker 1: tell you why later. But he got fired. You know,
- 14:22Speaker 1: he pretended. They allowed him to pretend to quit, and
- 14:26Speaker 1: he put out one of those statements, I well, I
- 14:27Speaker 1: like to spend more time with this. I want to
- 14:29Speaker 1: spend more time with my family. Have you seen his family?
- 14:33Speaker 1: Nobody wants to spend more time with them. They always
- 14:36Speaker 1: give you that same crazy excuse. But wait, we got
- 14:40Speaker 1: a lot to get to, So we'll get back. When
- 14:41Speaker 1: we'll get to the super Bowl, we'll go over bad
- 14:43Speaker 1: Bunny and more. In a few minutes, we'll take some calls.
- 14:46Speaker 1: Next eight hundred three to two one zero seven ten
- 14:50Speaker 1: is the number eight hundred three two one zero seven
- 14:54Speaker 1: to ten
