- 0:00Speaker 1: Come on. Uh huh, I sure will. Good morning everybody.
- 0:06Speaker 1: You are listening to the voice, Come on now, dig
- 0:10Speaker 1: me one and only Steve Harvey Man got a radio show.
- 0:14Speaker 1: What God doing, y'all? Huh? What he doing? What he
- 0:18Speaker 1: doing in your life? He doing something? He moving, he working.
- 0:22Speaker 1: Don't lose your patience though, see I did that before.
- 0:26Speaker 1: Don't lose your patience. Don't get so sick of waiting
- 0:31Speaker 1: that you take matters into your own hands. Don't do that. Boy,
- 0:35Speaker 1: you blowing it. Listen to me. You're listening to somebody
- 0:39Speaker 1: who's done it that way. I had a dream, I
- 0:42Speaker 1: had a vision. I had some hope, I have some faith,
- 0:46Speaker 1: I have some aspirations. But I got a little impatient
- 0:50Speaker 1: waiting on it. So I tried a couple other things
- 0:52Speaker 1: move it along. But I can't tell you how I
- 0:55Speaker 1: messed it up. Then I messed it up. Then, because
- 0:57Speaker 1: God gave me the power of decision. What I had
- 1:00Speaker 1: to do was then after I took matters into my
- 1:02Speaker 1: own hand, messed it up. Now I guess what, he
- 1:06Speaker 1: still got something fummy. But nah, I gotta fix all
- 1:09Speaker 1: the mistakes now, I gotta straighten them out. Gotta, I
- 1:12Speaker 1: gotta suffer some consequences. I gotta pay for my transgressions,
- 1:16Speaker 1: all of that, all of that, it's gotta go down.
- 1:19Speaker 1: You can't do something wrong and not pay for it.
- 1:23Speaker 1: It's just you call it, calma, call it whatever you
- 1:26Speaker 1: want to call it. Every action has an equal and
- 1:30Speaker 1: opposite reaction every action. If it just stays sunny all
- 1:35Speaker 1: the time, you might think it's cool, but there's gonna
- 1:38Speaker 1: be a reaction to it. Ain't no dark, ain't no shade,
- 1:40Speaker 1: ain't no break, ain't no rain. Gonna be hard if
- 1:44Speaker 1: it's just sunny all the time, vice versa. So you
- 1:48Speaker 1: need you need the opposite. You need the darkness so
- 1:52Speaker 1: you can get your break from that sun. You need
- 1:54Speaker 1: the rain so you can nourish the roots so that
- 1:57Speaker 1: sun can it can soak up to sun and get
- 2:00Speaker 1: the benefit of the sun. If you don't get the opposite,
- 2:03Speaker 1: you got a problem, man. And it happens throughout nature,
- 2:06Speaker 1: it happens throughout your life. Don't think that you can
- 2:09Speaker 1: do wrong and not have to pay for that. You
- 2:14Speaker 1: think this is man. We think man because we'd have
- 2:17Speaker 1: made a decision that we think is best for us,
- 2:20Speaker 1: and no matter how to affect nobody else we got
- 2:22Speaker 1: the right to make that call. No you don't. Whoever
- 2:25Speaker 1: is telling you that, whoever's misguiding you into the gang life,
- 2:29Speaker 1: telling you, yeah, man, you need to be this way
- 2:31Speaker 1: to be down with us. I'll tell you what. Get
- 2:33Speaker 1: yourself stuck on chuck with that gang. See how many
- 2:35Speaker 1: them be there for you. Oh they'll go around the
- 2:38Speaker 1: corner with you and start shooting. But look, okay, when
- 2:41Speaker 1: it's time to do some time and they can lessen
- 2:44Speaker 1: they sentence, you gonna get that time. They gonna point
- 2:46Speaker 1: their finger dead at you. I watched for eight hours
- 2:49Speaker 1: all the time, man, I watch Lock Up Raw all
- 2:51Speaker 1: the time. All the time, man, all the time. Ain't
- 2:55Speaker 1: no real cold dudes out there, just holding to the
- 2:57Speaker 1: mantra and sticking to it. Even the mob turned state
- 3:01Speaker 1: side evidence go fed all that. Now we in now
- 3:05Speaker 1: the hood. We didne created this ignorant mess called no snitching.
- 3:08Speaker 1: With that ignorant mess, you don't even understand. No snitching
- 3:11Speaker 1: was created by criminals as a cold of honor. If
- 3:14Speaker 1: you do dirt and you get busted doing the dirt,
- 3:16Speaker 1: don't bring my name up. If I was with you,
- 3:19Speaker 1: that's a colde of honor. Amongst the thieves. Now, so
- 3:21Speaker 1: many code of honor thieves that then came out of prison.
- 3:24Speaker 1: They ain't gotten honor. They done brought that stuff back
- 3:26Speaker 1: to the street. Now, that's all in the neighborhood. No snitching.
- 3:29Speaker 1: No snitching, you got to be crazy. That's for people
- 3:33Speaker 1: who disobey the law. That's who people have made a
- 3:36Speaker 1: cold of honor amongst themselves as thieves. Hey, man, if
- 3:38Speaker 1: you get busted, don't drag me down what you just
- 3:41Speaker 1: do your time. Oh man, you can't bring that stuff
- 3:44Speaker 1: out here to me. I'm a law abiding citizen. Dog.
- 3:47Speaker 1: I'm trying to live right over here. Man. I don't
- 3:49Speaker 1: want no crack house up street from my mama's house.
- 3:52Speaker 1: I'm trying to do right out here. Man, you can't
- 3:54Speaker 1: do wrong and expect wrong not to come to you.
- 3:57Speaker 1: You got to make a decision every day to do right.
- 4:00Speaker 1: That God ain't got no protection you on dirt. You
- 4:02Speaker 1: got what you got coming. You made a decision. You
- 4:07Speaker 1: go down there to get some you might get got See,
- 4:11Speaker 1: we got to come on. I'm talking to so many
- 4:14Speaker 1: men out here right now. I should have said that
- 4:16Speaker 1: in beginning, but a conversation that kind of got away
- 4:18Speaker 1: from me. I was gonna talk to you about something
- 4:20Speaker 1: else this morning. But they're just only man because our communities. Man,
- 4:24Speaker 1: it's just going to the pot man, because it ain't
- 4:26Speaker 1: nobody can about nobody else. Don't nobody care when they
- 4:31Speaker 1: see the young dude over there doing wrong. Look at
- 4:33Speaker 1: them foods over there. Man, go over there and talk
- 4:35Speaker 1: to one of them. Pull them to the side. Man.
- 4:38Speaker 1: You might not be able to approach the group, but
- 4:40Speaker 1: you can approach an individual. Come in, young man, Let
- 4:43Speaker 1: me talk to you. I saw you the other day. Man.
- 4:44Speaker 1: You look like you got something going on in your life.
- 4:46Speaker 1: What's happening with you? Let me talk to you, man,
- 4:49Speaker 1: Let me share something I learned. I was doing what
- 4:51Speaker 1: you was doing. You know. It's like Tommy did a
- 4:54Speaker 1: prank phone call one time as a limo driver, and
- 4:58Speaker 1: the dude the prank was call this limo company to
- 5:01Speaker 1: ask this limo driver to take him to this location
- 5:06Speaker 1: late at night, and the limo driver got a young
- 5:09Speaker 1: business He going, yeah, okay, I got you. I don't
- 5:11Speaker 1: normally work like that. But how long you need it?
- 5:13Speaker 1: He say? For just about an hour? He said, Well,
- 5:15Speaker 1: I'm gonna have to charge you for the full three though,
- 5:17Speaker 1: because a three hour minimum. Tommy told him, now, I
- 5:20Speaker 1: just need it for one hours. He said, okay, I'll
- 5:22Speaker 1: give you a break. Young man. You're trying to do something.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Where you want to go? He gave an address. The
- 5:26Speaker 1: man stopped writing. He said, that's a bank. He said, yeah.
- 5:31Speaker 1: He said, you want to go to the bank at
- 5:33Speaker 1: twelve thirty at night. He said, yeah, And I'm gonna
- 5:36Speaker 1: be in for a few minutes. And when I come
- 5:38Speaker 1: out that bank, I need for you to flow it.
- 5:42Speaker 1: That to do with the limo. He stopped writing. He said, ho,
- 5:45Speaker 1: hold on, hold on, man, you want me to take
- 5:49Speaker 1: you to a bank twelve thirty at night. You gonna
- 5:52Speaker 1: be in there for a few minutes and you gonna
- 5:54Speaker 1: come out, and you want me to flow it. He said, sir,
- 5:58Speaker 1: I don't do stuff like that. He said, you got
- 5:59Speaker 1: the company. He said, what made you call here? He said, hey, man,
- 6:02Speaker 1: don't worry about that. You a limo company. You just drive.
- 6:05Speaker 1: He stopped and took the time out. He said, young man,
- 6:08Speaker 1: let me tell you something. He said. I've been down before,
- 6:12Speaker 1: I've been locked up before. It ain't pretty. He said,
- 6:15Speaker 1: that's what's wrong with you young people. Today instead of
- 6:18Speaker 1: going to get a job trying to work your way,
- 6:19Speaker 1: you're always looking for some fast money. He said, I'm
- 6:22Speaker 1: gonna tell you what I already know. Don't go down
- 6:24Speaker 1: there messing with them people's money like that because they
- 6:26Speaker 1: love that money way more than they love you, and
- 6:28Speaker 1: they gonna do something to you down there. Now, you
- 6:30Speaker 1: stop this foolishness. And I'm not caring you know where,
- 6:34Speaker 1: but I'm gonna take a little bit of time out
- 6:36Speaker 1: to tell you something. Don't go down here with messing
- 6:39Speaker 1: with these people's money because it ain't gonna go good.
- 6:41Speaker 1: They gonna take care of their business when they come
- 6:43Speaker 1: to that money. Tommy kept insisting to this man to
- 6:46Speaker 1: pick him up in the limo. It was a plank
- 6:47Speaker 1: phone call. But the point I'm making is the man
- 6:50Speaker 1: took our time. He could have just hung the phone up.
- 6:53Speaker 1: But you know what he said. He said, hold up,
- 6:55Speaker 1: young man, let me hip you to something. Because the
- 6:57Speaker 1: brother had been locked up before. He said, no, no, no,
- 7:00Speaker 1: see I've done that when I was young. Now I'm
- 7:01Speaker 1: gonna stop it. I'm gonna take some moment out to
- 7:03Speaker 1: tell you I'm up here, working man trying to earn
- 7:05Speaker 1: an honest living. I ain't going back down there because
- 7:08Speaker 1: I don't. They make you eat what they want you
- 7:10Speaker 1: to eat. You don't want the food. You got to
- 7:12Speaker 1: get up when they say get up. You gotta stay
- 7:14Speaker 1: where they say stay, live with who they say live.
- 7:16Speaker 1: He said, man, you don't want that, and he just
- 7:18Speaker 1: tried to talk the young man out of me. You
- 7:21Speaker 1: can change a young man's mind with a conversation. A
- 7:24Speaker 1: conversation can change a young man's mind. Most of these
- 7:27Speaker 1: young men that are misguided ain't having conversations with real men.
- 7:31Speaker 1: They just not having them. And it's up to us
- 7:34Speaker 1: who know what manhood iss, to start delivering the message
- 7:38Speaker 1: the problem that we have in our communities. We can
- 7:40Speaker 1: solve ourselves and to escalate it to a point because
- 7:43Speaker 1: we who are men, won't stop on our corporate climb
- 7:47Speaker 1: and our day to day making money and trying to
- 7:49Speaker 1: ball out. We won't stop and grab some of these
- 7:52Speaker 1: young soldiers and tell them the truth about manhood. That's
- 7:55Speaker 1: the real deal. Okay, sah, I went there. I don't
- 7:57Speaker 1: know where they came from. You listening to the Steve
- 8:00Speaker 1: Harvey Morning Show
