- 0:14Speaker 3: Welcome to Patriots Unfiltered.
- 0:18Speaker 4: Talking about the Miami Dolphins and this is a guaranteed
- 0:21Speaker 4: win for the New Land Patriots. I mean, I remember
- 0:25Speaker 4: when my son was a little kid, he saw Carell
- 0:28Speaker 4: Davis on Sesame Street and he became a Broncos fan.
- 0:31Speaker 5: Was it because of your Randy gratishark? No?
- 0:33Speaker 4: No, the flat brin caps, And I said, people who
- 0:36Speaker 4: wear those now, twenty years from now are going to
- 0:38Speaker 4: be like what was?
- 0:38Speaker 6: I think every single athlete wears flat froom hats now.
- 0:41Speaker 7: So I guess I've been a live long enough now
- 0:44Speaker 7: though to realize that, like jeans are just it's on
- 0:46Speaker 7: a cycle.
- 0:47Speaker 1: I got my skinny jeans. Those will come back in
- 0:48Speaker 1: about ten years.
- 0:49Speaker 7: And then you know, now where everybody's got the wide
- 0:51Speaker 7: legs straight down to the jeans that were in high.
- 0:53Speaker 4: School, flex that she's still in shape.
- 0:58Speaker 7: That was now then they say, Will Kimpbell very serious,
- 1:04Speaker 7: just locked in and love it.
- 1:06Speaker 3: I love him.
- 1:07Speaker 4: He's quickly becoming my favorite player, just like I can't
- 1:11Speaker 4: have a favorite player.
- 1:12Speaker 5: No, I just think it's I think you're you're cute.
- 1:14Speaker 4: This is Patriots Unfiltered, presented by Toyota's official website.

- 1:23Speaker 4: All right, welcome to Patriots Unfiltered. It is Tuesday here
- 1:27Speaker 4: at the Lette Stadium, and it's a happy Tuesday.
- 1:29Speaker 5: Look at that face.
- 1:30Speaker 1: It's a happy Tuesday because.
- 1:32Speaker 5: The face of a guy who guarantees.
- 1:35Speaker 4: Well, listen, you know it's the feeld. You gotta have
- 1:38Speaker 4: the field, you gotta have that.
- 1:39Speaker 5: Hats off to Freddy the leader. That's what leaders. Leaders lead.
- 1:44Speaker 5: When Freddie Kirsh.
- 1:45Speaker 1: Came through but inspired the team a little.
- 1:48Speaker 6: Bit, did you like, give a pep talk or something
- 1:51Speaker 6: I guarantee we got.
- 1:54Speaker 3: I might have. I might have, but all kidding aside.
- 1:58Speaker 5: I wasn't kidding, Yeah you will there, It was no
- 2:01Speaker 5: why not.
- 2:02Speaker 4: You know we talked about we had our we have
- 2:05Speaker 4: a ten o'clock meeting every Tuesday with our whole department,
- 2:08Speaker 4: and you know, for the young'ins, I wanted to let
- 2:11Speaker 4: them know that even during the Brady years peak dynasty,
- 2:17Speaker 4: you'd go down to Miami and anything could happen.
- 2:20Speaker 3: You know, we lost to.
- 2:23Speaker 5: Two and thirteen Dolphins team once down there.
- 2:26Speaker 3: Yeah, and with the Patriots, you know, riding high.
- 2:29Speaker 4: So when you can go to Miami in September, especially
- 2:33Speaker 4: when it's the hottest, and get yourself a win and
- 2:36Speaker 4: you're a Patriots team, yeah, I'm beaming. I'm beaming. Let's go,
- 2:42Speaker 4: let's go. So yeah, I was, Yes, I was.
- 2:47Speaker 3: You know, a lot to clean up. It was a
- 2:49Speaker 3: sloppy game by both teams.
- 2:51Speaker 5: That's not for this week.
- 2:52Speaker 4: Right, Thank god Miami did what they did. But Miami,
- 2:56Speaker 4: I mean, the Patriots did what they had to do
- 3:00Speaker 4: and you come out of there with a win.
- 3:01Speaker 3: Big one.
- 3:02Speaker 5: I'm through wildly entertaining one too. And it was probably
- 3:05Speaker 5: not for the coaches and stuff, but just watching it.
- 3:07Speaker 3: Listen, turn in any game that makes it exciting, and
- 3:13Speaker 3: Mike and I was.
- 3:14Speaker 5: Just like laughing at some point, like like almost like delirious.
- 3:17Speaker 1: Home game, you're drunk, That's what I felt like.
- 3:21Speaker 4: So we're gonna break it down and uh, as much
- 3:25Speaker 4: as we can. Tomorrow will turn the page and we'll
- 3:27Speaker 4: look toward the Pittsburgh Steelers. But today it's all about
- 3:31Speaker 4: reveling in a Miami win.
- 3:34Speaker 1: For sure.
- 3:34Speaker 7: I think what most surprising to me is I felt like,
- 3:37Speaker 7: and I can let Evan dive into it a little bit,
- 3:40Speaker 7: but it just felt like they really changed things up
- 3:42Speaker 7: a little bit game plan wise on both sides of
- 3:43Speaker 7: the ball, you know, speaking just from the defensive side
- 3:47Speaker 7: of the ball. Seemed like they completely went away from
- 3:50Speaker 7: what they did last week against the Raiders and look
- 3:53Speaker 7: mixed results.
- 3:54Speaker 1: I mean, maybe mixed results is a little.
- 3:56Speaker 7: Bit generous down to the end, but uh, I just
- 3:59Speaker 7: think it's a huge win for the organization and for
- 4:02Speaker 7: Mike Frabel. And that's what I was wondering, like, is
- 4:03Speaker 7: this a bigger win for Mike Frabel or Drake May
- 4:05Speaker 7: And I kind of think it's a bigger win for
- 4:07Speaker 7: Mike Frabel and you know, buying some confidence in the program,
- 4:10Speaker 7: getting some buy in from the players.
- 4:11Speaker 5: And great debate.
- 4:14Speaker 3: He just was it a bigger win for debate.
- 4:16Speaker 5: We'll get to that later, should Yeah.
- 4:20Speaker 1: I like it.
- 4:20Speaker 5: Thought that's a good debate.
- 4:22Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm very pleased with the offense, very pleased. It
- 4:26Speaker 6: should be a great performance from the offense.
- 4:29Speaker 3: It was a fairly clean game.
- 4:31Speaker 4: You know, there's some penalties a botch snack, yeah, I mean,
- 4:35Speaker 4: but execution wise, it was fairly clean.
- 4:38Speaker 6: Even more so than that, I would call the scheme
- 4:41Speaker 6: in this game dynamic. They really did some things in
- 4:45Speaker 6: this game that I was hoping to see last week,
- 4:47Speaker 6: And I was so frustrated last week because it felt
- 4:51Speaker 6: so vanilla like. It felt like they called the game
- 4:53Speaker 6: like it was an extension of the preseason, and I
- 4:56Speaker 6: was so disappointed that they didn't do some of the
- 4:59Speaker 6: things that we were seeing in training camp and some
- 5:01Speaker 6: of the more schematic elements, you know, motion, moving pockets,
- 5:06Speaker 6: getting Drake out on the bootlegs, trying to hit shot
- 5:10Speaker 6: plays early in the game down the field, to get
- 5:13Speaker 6: him into the game, and to get him in a rhythm.
- 5:16Speaker 6: And they did all that and more in week two
- 5:19Speaker 6: and just completely flip the script from what they did
- 5:22Speaker 6: in the opening week. Their motion rate increased by over
- 5:25Speaker 6: fifty percent, their under center rate increased by double They
- 5:29Speaker 6: moved the pocket five six times in this game for
- 5:32Speaker 6: Drake May getting him out on those bootlegs and making
- 5:35Speaker 6: him just read half the field and his ability with
- 5:39Speaker 6: his arm and his legs on those boots is dynamic.
- 5:42Speaker 6: And this was the offense that I was hoping we
- 5:44Speaker 6: were going to see last week.
- 5:46Speaker 4: It sounds like you gave somebody a pep talk about
- 5:49Speaker 4: how to run an offense.
- 5:50Speaker 6: I'm not saying that. I'm not taking any victory lapse
- 5:53Speaker 6: on that, but it was it was really exciting to
- 5:57Speaker 6: see them execute on offense like that, Probably the best
- 6:01Speaker 6: offensive performance they've had in three years.
- 6:03Speaker 4: I mean, honestly, during the game, I was thinking, Drake
- 6:08Speaker 4: looks calm. He looks more relaxed than I've seen him
- 6:11Speaker 4: in pretty much any game.
- 6:13Speaker 3: And I don't know the reason for that.
- 6:15Speaker 4: Maybe it's because of the plays they were calling, confidence
- 6:18Speaker 4: in the O line, trust that the Miami secondary was
- 6:23Speaker 4: in shambles.
- 6:24Speaker 1: Whatever it was, he looked more relaxed to me.
- 6:28Speaker 6: The boots early on. I mean, well, I'd say, really
- 6:31Speaker 6: the play to me that settled him down was the
- 6:33Speaker 6: fourth down conversion to Diggs. I think when they hit that,
- 6:36Speaker 6: you could kind of see a sigh of relief, like,
- 6:38Speaker 6: all right, we're not gonna go three and out on
- 6:40Speaker 6: the opening drive again, and we're moving the ball and
- 6:43Speaker 6: we pick up a big fourth down to the big
- 6:46Speaker 6: money receiver. And I know there's conversations about Digs and
- 6:50Speaker 6: the fact that his yardage hasn't been great in the
- 6:53Speaker 6: first two weeks. But those plays, man, are so huge.
- 6:57Speaker 6: To have a guy like that that's just open and
- 6:59Speaker 6: a veil quickly to the quarterback. It just takes so
- 7:02Speaker 6: much pressure off of the quarterback to have a receiver
- 7:05Speaker 6: like that. And then they started to scheme up some
- 7:08Speaker 6: of the deep shots down the field using those moving pockets,
- 7:11Speaker 6: and that's when I think it really started to open
- 7:14Speaker 6: up for Drake and he started to really feel comfortable
- 7:17Speaker 6: and like he was into the game. So I just
- 7:20Speaker 6: love the game plan, I love the scheme. I hope
- 7:23Speaker 6: that that's what they're going to do moving forward. It
- 7:25Speaker 6: was just much much better.
- 7:26Speaker 4: Okay, I do too, But do you think that the
- 7:29Speaker 4: way they call that game had anything to do with
- 7:32Speaker 4: the state of the Miami defense.
- 7:36Speaker 6: Sure, and I mean, Daniel Jones looked awesome in week one,
- 7:40Speaker 6: and you have to put that caveat in there. But
- 7:42Speaker 6: at the same time, you know, this is my other
- 7:44Speaker 6: big kind of takeaway from the game in general. When
- 7:48Speaker 6: Rabel got hired, he said, the first step is taking
- 7:50Speaker 6: advantage of bad football. The Dolphins played a lot of
- 7:53Speaker 6: bad football and the Patriots for the first time.
- 7:55Speaker 5: That was my big takeaway in a while.
- 7:58Speaker 6: We're able to take advantage of it. So we can
- 7:59Speaker 6: see here and say that the defense of the Dolphins
- 8:03Speaker 6: is in shambles, which it is, and it wasn't good
- 8:05Speaker 6: two weeks in a row. They're the worst defense in
- 8:07Speaker 6: the league by a lot of different metrics. But at
- 8:10Speaker 6: the same time, I don't know if the offense last
- 8:13Speaker 6: year takes advantage of it. I don't know if the
- 8:15Speaker 6: offense two years ago.
- 8:16Speaker 5: I don't know if the offense last week would have
- 8:19Speaker 5: taken advantage of the opportunities they got on both sides
- 8:22Speaker 5: of the ball. Everything Evan said I wholeheartedly agree with. Offensively,
- 8:26Speaker 5: it was Drake May's best game as a pro, and
- 8:29Speaker 5: I don't really think this is a close second. There
- 8:31Speaker 5: was nothing resembling a turnover from the quarterback in this game.
- 8:35Speaker 5: To your point, Freddy about the overall execution, I know
- 8:37Speaker 5: that we're a lot of penalties and there's things to
- 8:39Speaker 5: clean up, but like I joked, like that's really two
- 8:42Speaker 5: or three weeks from now. They needed to find a
- 8:44Speaker 5: way to go down and win a football game and
- 8:46Speaker 5: a place where they haven't really been able to do it.
- 8:51Speaker 5: I just I thought everything that May did looked comfortable
- 8:56Speaker 5: and all the stuff about under center motion, all the
- 9:01Speaker 5: x'es and o's that Evan's given you really good in
- 9:04Speaker 5: depth insight into. To me, it's just very simple. Instead
- 9:08Speaker 5: of throwing forty six times, you threw it twenty three times.
- 9:11Speaker 5: And it's amazing how your two rookie offensive linemen looked
- 9:15Speaker 5: awesome only throwing the ball twenty three times as opposed
- 9:18Speaker 5: to having him drop back fifty whatever times in the opener.
- 9:21Speaker 5: There was such a better performance by the guys up front.
- 9:25Speaker 5: Everybody looked better, everybody looked better offensively, and they moved
- 9:29Speaker 5: the ball but the length of the field twice in
- 9:33Speaker 5: the first half, three times in the first half. Yeah,
- 9:37Speaker 5: Mike and I talked a little bit on the postgame show,
- 9:39Speaker 5: would like to have seen a continuation in the third quarter,
- 9:42Speaker 5: but even better when you kind of take a hit
- 9:46Speaker 5: a punch back. They responded with, what I think is
- 9:50Speaker 5: the play of the game, and maybe the best player
- 9:52Speaker 5: that Drake may has had in his career is the
- 9:54Speaker 5: fifty five yard at o Vermandre Stevenson, which completely flipped
- 9:57Speaker 5: the game because they were teetering there for a second. Yeah,
- 10:00Speaker 5: and that play wasn't just about well, we know he
- 10:02Speaker 5: has the arm talent. It was everything that went before
- 10:05Speaker 5: the arm talent that impressed me. Jalen Phillips comes in,
- 10:09Speaker 5: he kind of sees him, shrugs him off, slides, moves
- 10:12Speaker 5: up and then puts it right on the hands of
- 10:15Speaker 5: a receiver who's not used to being that far downfield
- 10:18Speaker 5: making those kinds.
- 10:19Speaker 4: And that was a great catch, great throw, great catch,
- 10:21Speaker 4: you know, because he great run after catches. His arms
- 10:24Speaker 4: are fully extended, just like focus offensive way.
- 10:26Speaker 5: I'm with Evan. I mean, that's as good a performance
- 10:28Speaker 5: as we've seen you in the Drake May area.
- 10:30Speaker 7: And so I highlight all of Ramandra's game too. I mean,
- 10:33Speaker 7: that's a throwback on the field. I had to write
- 10:35Speaker 7: about him yesterday just that was the player we saw
- 10:37Speaker 7: back in twenty twenty two that can do it always.
- 10:39Speaker 7: They can break tackles. Just a really impressive game from him,
- 10:43Speaker 7: and then that was really the cherry on top of
- 10:45Speaker 7: just a great day for him. So that's a great
- 10:46Speaker 7: sign for him. I said on the show, I love
- 10:49Speaker 7: that balance when Rimander is able to do that, and
- 10:51Speaker 7: then they can start to get Travon Henderson going a
- 10:53Speaker 7: little bit and you know, not really need to make
- 10:55Speaker 7: him such a focal point, but to slip him in there,
- 10:57Speaker 7: and you know, when they have an opportunity to the
- 11:00Speaker 7: defense might not be expecting.
- 11:01Speaker 1: And I think that's what they're gonna be it.
- 11:03Speaker 5: And then you see, like we talked so much about, well,
- 11:04Speaker 5: Drake missed so many of those easy throws against the Raiders. Again,
- 11:08Speaker 5: you know, maybe if they had to throw at fifty
- 11:11Speaker 5: times he would have he would have mixed a handful. Again,
- 11:13Speaker 5: you know, I didn't really see a lot of misses
- 11:16Speaker 5: in this game. I think there might have been one
- 11:18Speaker 5: that he pointed to himself. I actually think he was
- 11:22Speaker 5: right on Diggs. I think if he had thrown it
- 11:24Speaker 5: where Diggs was, I think he you know, potentially would
- 11:27Speaker 5: have led him into a pretty pretty big hit. I
- 11:30Speaker 5: didn't see a lot of inaccurate passes in this game.
- 11:32Speaker 5: I'm not only forwarding complete passes the whole game, but
- 11:35Speaker 5: even the completions I thought were all where he wanted
- 11:37Speaker 5: them to be for the most part, maybe just you know, nitpicking.
- 11:41Speaker 5: The one to Hooper I think might have been a
- 11:43Speaker 5: touchdown if he had delivered maybe a better ball, but
- 11:47Speaker 5: you know, big, I mean big time throw to Booty
- 11:50Speaker 5: for the touchdown. Big time throw to Stevenson and a
- 11:53Speaker 5: lot of very underrated plays in this game when they
- 11:56Speaker 5: did get behind the chains, the little like dumps over
- 11:59Speaker 5: the middle for like seven yards to Hunter Henry, eight
- 12:02Speaker 5: yards to Remondre Stevens in the setup, very manageable third downs.
- 12:06Speaker 6: Yeah, there was a sequence to that point where he
- 12:10Speaker 6: hit digs over the over the ball and on the
- 12:12Speaker 6: juke and then hit Trevon Henderson on the wheel route
- 12:16Speaker 6: on third down on the next play.
- 12:18Speaker 5: Vintage Josh McDaniels, by the way.
- 12:20Speaker 6: That yeah, And that was like that. I was like,
- 12:24Speaker 6: that's a real offense. Like they got into second fifteen
- 12:26Speaker 6: and didn't have.
- 12:27Speaker 5: To bund That was one of the sequences I was talking.
- 12:30Speaker 6: I was like, this is unbelievable. And when we were
- 12:31Speaker 6: in Minnesota, Uh, they they practiced those exact situations with
- 12:36Speaker 6: the vikings, and it's a big thing for Kevin O'Connell,
- 12:38Speaker 6: like if you get off schedule, getting yourself back on
- 12:41Speaker 6: schedule and then converting on third down. And so they
- 12:44Speaker 6: practiced that exact sequence and hit it basically the exact
- 12:47Speaker 6: same way in those joint practices And I was like,
- 12:51Speaker 6: that is good offense, Like that's not you can find
- 12:55Speaker 6: plays here or there. Any offense, we'll find that in
- 12:57Speaker 6: the NFL. But the ability to get out of second
- 12:59Speaker 6: fifteen and then turn that into a first down and
- 13:02Speaker 6: stay on the field was really just it was awesome
- 13:05Speaker 6: to see that. I don't think I've seen them do
- 13:07Speaker 6: that in a while, you know, you mentioned the the
- 13:11Speaker 6: throw to Remandre was just I mean, it's a franchise
- 13:15Speaker 6: quarterback type play, like you dip the ball with two
- 13:17Speaker 6: hands on it because Phillips is coming in to swipe
- 13:20Speaker 6: at it for the strip sack, so he dips the
- 13:22Speaker 6: ball and I think the part that's the best part
- 13:24Speaker 6: of it is he like settles his feet back down,
- 13:27Speaker 6: you know with Drake like sometimes once he moves off
- 13:29Speaker 6: his spot, his platform gets all out of whack and
- 13:32Speaker 6: he's throwing from a bad throwing platform. So he gets
- 13:35Speaker 6: back his feet back underneath him and then he throws
- 13:38Speaker 6: the ball to Remandre and then that's why the accuracy
- 13:41Speaker 6: was good on that play as well. So it was
- 13:45Speaker 6: to see him make a play like that, Like you said,
- 13:47Speaker 6: they go down five, they're kind of you know, getting
- 13:51Speaker 6: the momentum, Like you could feel it in the stadium
- 13:53Speaker 6: that the momentum was flipping back to the Dolphins, and
- 13:56Speaker 6: then Drake May just literally puts the team on his
- 13:59Speaker 6: back and goes two plays into the end zone, the
- 14:02Speaker 6: fifty five yard at or Remandre and then the scramble touchdown.
- 14:06Speaker 6: He's got Jude On unblocked running, you know, off the edge,
- 14:09Speaker 6: their free runner, and he just he just scrambles out
- 14:12Speaker 6: the back and Waltz is in for a touchdown. Just
- 14:16Speaker 6: did it himself. Just did it himself.
- 14:18Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 14:18Speaker 4: On the other side of the ball, Patriots had their
- 14:21Speaker 4: problems with Tua.
- 14:23Speaker 3: You know, for a while he was on a roll.
- 14:25Speaker 3: Did it seem to you, guys?
- 14:27Speaker 4: Toward the end the Patriots kind of picked up the
- 14:29Speaker 4: pressure a little bit and started not allowing him to
- 14:33Speaker 4: get to his first read, which was kind.
- 14:35Speaker 3: Of the key to the game with him. But they
- 14:39Speaker 3: increased the pressure toward the end to allow that.
- 14:42Speaker 1: Did it see that to you? I don't know if
- 14:43Speaker 1: they increased the pressure.
- 14:44Speaker 7: I think the coverage was probably a little bit better
- 14:46Speaker 7: and bought them a little bit more time to get there.
- 14:49Speaker 7: I mean, I think that last play was a little
- 14:51Speaker 7: bit more of a physical effort.
- 14:52Speaker 1: But you know, just to talk about.
- 14:54Speaker 7: Their plan a little bit, I mean, after playing a
- 14:55Speaker 7: good chunk of man last week. They did with what
- 14:57Speaker 7: the Colts did. They played a bunch of zone. They
- 14:59Speaker 7: played a lot of too high safeties trying to take
- 15:02Speaker 7: away the big plays, and they were eating apart in
- 15:05Speaker 7: the middle of the field pretty much the whole game,
- 15:07Speaker 7: you know, based on linebacker coverage. And you know, I
- 15:10Speaker 7: think don't think Alex Austin had a particularly great game,
- 15:12Speaker 7: but you know, that's the thing. It's like you can
- 15:14Speaker 7: get It was like three or four pressures for the
- 15:16Speaker 7: first three quarters, and then like in the fourth quarter,
- 15:18Speaker 7: they're like twelve pressures. So you know, it's a little
- 15:22Speaker 7: bit like, well, you'd love to get consistent pressure, but
- 15:25Speaker 7: if you got to close the game out at the end,
- 15:26Speaker 7: I guess you.
- 15:27Speaker 1: Did it at the right time.
- 15:28Speaker 7: I still think they've got a long ways to go,
- 15:30Speaker 7: and I'm sure we'll get into the nitty gritty of
- 15:33Speaker 7: the defense, which which I think everybody's kind of talking about.
- 15:36Speaker 1: A little bit.
- 15:36Speaker 5: Another example where I would say what Evan made the
- 15:40Speaker 5: point about Vrabel's comment about taking advantage of bad football.
- 15:44Speaker 5: I don't think they had a tremendous amount of pressure
- 15:46Speaker 5: for the vast majority of this game, and They got
- 15:48Speaker 5: it by taking advantage of bad football. So the last
- 15:52Speaker 5: two drives that Miami has the ball, they pulled the
- 15:55Speaker 5: you know, the double dip, which you don't really see
- 15:58Speaker 5: very often. The second last possession, they're moving the ball
- 16:01Speaker 5: a little bit. Then they get a delay a game,
- 16:04Speaker 5: followed by two overthrowing an absolutely wide open Tyreek Hill,
- 16:08Speaker 5: followed by a false start. So now you getting it.
- 16:12Speaker 5: End up getting off the field with a Harold Landry sack,
- 16:14Speaker 5: and then it's a desperation fourth down that MAPU picks off.
- 16:17Speaker 5: So take it. They gave you an opportunity. Don't let
- 16:20Speaker 5: them out of the grave. They want to bury themselves
- 16:23Speaker 5: with stupid back to back penalties. Make sure that hurts.
- 16:27Speaker 5: Last drive they take over on their own forty they
- 16:30Speaker 5: go right down the field. Fortunately h again bad football
- 16:34Speaker 5: steps out of bounds for no reason, and you don't
- 16:37Speaker 5: get a touchdown out of it. Okay, you got a reprieve.
- 16:40Speaker 5: What are we gonna do with it? Oh, Miami is
- 16:42Speaker 5: gonna double down. They're gonna get another false start and
- 16:45Speaker 5: delay a game back to back. Now you got them
- 16:47Speaker 5: backed up. You can't let them score now, And Milton
- 16:50Speaker 5: Williams said, no, you ain't scoring. Milton Williams took over
- 16:53Speaker 5: the game, you know when he had to that. When
- 16:56Speaker 5: you go and invest in a guy, you're investing in
- 16:59Speaker 5: in a skill set, right. Yeah, you know we used
- 17:02Speaker 5: to call some of those designady pass rushers, like von
- 17:05Speaker 5: Miller later in his career with the Rams, when he
- 17:07Speaker 5: went to the Super Bowl with their ears on you like,
- 17:09Speaker 5: you have a closer? What buffalo you're You know, we're
- 17:12Speaker 5: not asking you to get twenty sacks anymore, but we're
- 17:14Speaker 5: asking you when the games on the line show up.
- 17:17Speaker 5: Milton Williams completely dominated that last play and ends any
- 17:22Speaker 5: chance take advantage of bad football. That's what they couldn't do.
- 17:25Speaker 5: The Raiders try to give you those opportunities in the opener,
- 17:28Speaker 5: and they couldn't take advantage just one week the progression
- 17:31Speaker 5: to me and Evan pointed it out. They put themselves
- 17:33Speaker 5: in position to take advantage of the other team's mistakes
- 17:36Speaker 5: so much better in this game.
- 17:37Speaker 3: I mean a game like that.
- 17:38Speaker 4: If you know, if you're home and you have people
- 17:40Speaker 4: over having a barbecue, it just makes the food taste
- 17:43Speaker 4: that much better. And nothing says football season like firing
- 17:46Speaker 4: up the grill in the backyard. And having a cookout,
- 17:49Speaker 4: and the best cookouts have the best looking lawns, the
- 17:53Speaker 4: lawns that are cut with an Aaron's mower. Aaron's, the
- 17:56Speaker 4: official lawnmower of the New England Patriots, is proud to
- 17:58Speaker 4: help Patriots fans get back to football. Visit www. Dot
- 18:03Speaker 4: Aarons dot com. Define your errands. I have an aaron snowblower.
- 18:09Speaker 4: I don't have an Aaron's lawnmower.
- 18:12Speaker 1: I don't either.
- 18:13Speaker 3: Hint, hint.
- 18:14Speaker 6: I'm glad we're talking about Duce's defense because as happy
- 18:17Speaker 6: as I was watching the offense tape yesterday, the defense
- 18:21Speaker 6: has a long way to go, and they I think
- 18:24Speaker 6: the biggest thing with the defense right now is the coverage.
- 18:26Speaker 6: They're just not covering tight enough. I think the defensive
- 18:29Speaker 6: line is going to eat once they have the coverage
- 18:32Speaker 6: figured out, I really do. I think Williams Landry Barmore
- 18:37Speaker 6: even Chase On a little bit more in this game
- 18:38Speaker 6: than I thought week one. They can get after it.
- 18:41Speaker 6: I mean, William's been awesome, He's been great, but the
- 18:44Speaker 6: coverage has not been good enough, and they gave up
- 18:48Speaker 6: a lot of space in those corner hole shots three
- 18:52Speaker 6: times three explosives, touchdown to Jalen Waddle, same thing, and
- 18:59Speaker 6: to to his credit, you know, Rabel said it after
- 19:01Speaker 6: the game, we were gonna give him the corners and
- 19:04Speaker 6: to a hit him. And so then they they're kind
- 19:07Speaker 6: of in this cover two defense, and two was hitting
- 19:09Speaker 6: the honey hole there. He's hitting this hole shots and
- 19:12Speaker 6: so then the obvious pivot would be the man, but
- 19:15Speaker 6: they don't have Christian Gonzales, so then they try to
- 19:18Speaker 6: pivot to man and then they're getting torched in man,
- 19:21Speaker 6: and so it just left them without a lot of
- 19:23Speaker 6: great answers.
- 19:23Speaker 5: It's like the last drive of the first half they
- 19:25Speaker 5: had man, yeah, yeah.
- 19:27Speaker 6: You know, splay and that's when Splaine gets on a
- 19:29Speaker 6: chin and touchdown, right. So it just it didn't feel
- 19:33Speaker 6: like they had a lot of answers. But you know,
- 19:36Speaker 6: to their credit, Zach Kerr I thought saved some of
- 19:39Speaker 6: his best play calls coverage wise for the end of
- 19:42Speaker 6: the game. And they actually changed up their coverage a
- 19:44Speaker 6: couple of times in the fourth corner and played some
- 19:47Speaker 6: different zones and didn't just stick in the Cover two
- 19:51Speaker 6: and on Landry's sack for example, you know, they ended
- 19:54Speaker 6: up playing Cover six or quarter quarter half and they
- 19:57Speaker 6: had a cover two beater to that side of the
- 20:00Speaker 6: field and to what was lost. Yeah, he had to
- 20:02Speaker 6: hold on the ball and Landry ends up getting home.
- 20:05Speaker 6: So they had some really nice calls late in this
- 20:07Speaker 6: game that they kind of kept in their back pocket
- 20:09Speaker 6: for a big, a big spot, big moment in the game,
- 20:13Speaker 6: but for three quarters that to it kind of did whatever.
- 20:15Speaker 3: I have a question about Zach Kerr.
- 20:16Speaker 4: I'll ask in a second, But before I asked that,
- 20:19Speaker 4: I felt, to me like conditioning for the defense was
- 20:22Speaker 4: pretty good, maybe because Miami had didn't have the ball
- 20:26Speaker 4: that much in the first half, but like, I mean,
- 20:29Speaker 4: they were rotating, but at the end of the game,
- 20:32Speaker 4: the defense looked pretty fresh.
- 20:33Speaker 7: I was just sitting here waiting to like just chime
- 20:35Speaker 7: in with that because it's something I haven't pointed out.
- 20:37Speaker 1: No, no, there's no way you could have known, Fred,
- 20:39Speaker 1: But it was just something.
- 20:40Speaker 5: We didn't highlight, and I think you had the answer.
- 20:42Speaker 7: Tough place, tough place to play, though, and I just
- 20:44Speaker 7: think that's something where down the end, those guys can
- 20:47Speaker 7: be gassed. I mean, I think at a certain point,
- 20:49Speaker 7: like late in the game, they started just playing Williams
- 20:51Speaker 7: like on third downs to give them a little bit
- 20:53Speaker 7: of a blow. But you know, just to be able
- 20:54Speaker 7: to make those plays at the end, you've got to
- 20:56Speaker 7: be in decent condition. In Miami Week two, it's you know,
- 20:59Speaker 7: it's not the whole world, and they didn't play a
- 21:01Speaker 7: lot in the first half, but still you get down
- 21:03Speaker 7: the second half. Rabel said in the locker room, I
- 21:05Speaker 7: know you guys are exhausted. So I just that's that's
- 21:07Speaker 7: that's a good little piece of it. I think that
- 21:09Speaker 7: was good.
- 21:10Speaker 4: My question on Zach KERRK because I was listening to
- 21:12Speaker 4: one of Paul's shows yesterday. They questioned whether or not
- 21:16Speaker 4: he was calling the plays. They they said that they
- 21:18Speaker 4: didn't notice him by calling them.
- 21:20Speaker 6: Yeah, he was calling the plays. I checked it a
- 21:22Speaker 6: couple of times, and he had the play sheet up
- 21:24Speaker 6: on it.
- 21:25Speaker 3: But did he have a headset? Yeah, so he was calling.
- 21:27Speaker 5: So what are they talking about? I don't know.
- 21:29Speaker 6: I I double checked like three or four times in
- 21:31Speaker 6: the first quarter because I thought there was a chance
- 21:34Speaker 6: that Rabel might call it himself, so I wanted to
- 21:36Speaker 6: make sure, and I had the binoculars on the sideline,
- 21:39Speaker 6: and he was absolutely he got a game ball at
- 21:41Speaker 6: the end so yeah, yeah, he was calling the defense.
- 21:43Speaker 4: So what do you have to say about your shows?
- 21:45Speaker 5: I just would wonder if you're not there, how would
- 21:50Speaker 5: you identify who the play caller is A b who
- 21:54Speaker 5: really cares well?
- 21:55Speaker 4: I think it's important to know. But they were saying
- 21:58Speaker 4: they didn't see his they didn't see him talking.
- 22:00Speaker 5: Do you do you do you have a problem with
- 22:03Speaker 5: the play calls? No, because I understand if you have
- 22:05Speaker 5: a problem or you thought it was great, if you
- 22:08Speaker 5: want to credit or blame somebody other than that. Like like,
- 22:11Speaker 5: as a Patriots fan, the team that I'm rooting for
- 22:16Speaker 5: made plays at the end of the game and ended
- 22:17Speaker 5: up winning the game. I don't care if Zach Corr
- 22:20Speaker 5: called it or if Mike Rabel called I don't. I
- 22:22Speaker 5: just I don't know why that is. I mean, like,
- 22:24Speaker 5: do we just have to find something? I know I'm
- 22:27Speaker 5: not hypocritical, but I'm looking forward to tomorrow when I
- 22:31Speaker 5: find out that evidently JJ McCarty isn't going to revolutionize
- 22:35Speaker 5: young quarterbacks like I was last week. But if you
- 22:38Speaker 5: had to redraft it now, Paul, I still take McCarty
- 22:42Speaker 5: Like these guys like if everything is a referendum one
- 22:44Speaker 5: week I love it and I hate it at the
- 22:46Speaker 5: same time. I know it's a one week but I'm
- 22:48Speaker 5: on everything.
- 22:49Speaker 4: I think just from a curiosity standpoint. I you know,
- 22:52Speaker 4: I always like to know who's calling the play's offense defense.
- 22:56Speaker 4: So you're saying that you think he was.
- 22:59Speaker 6: Saying he was, And I've checked it on Sunday a
- 23:03Speaker 6: couple of times just to make sure, and he was
- 23:06Speaker 6: definitely calling the plays. And like I said, you know,
- 23:08Speaker 6: early on in this game, too, had a feel for
- 23:11Speaker 6: the cover two like they're expecting it. That's all they
- 23:13Speaker 6: see all the time is those two high safeties with
- 23:15Speaker 6: the Wattle and Hill. And then eventually the Patriots did
- 23:19Speaker 6: have some tricks up their sleeve coverage wise late in
- 23:21Speaker 6: this game that worked and led to pressure and led
- 23:25Speaker 6: to sacks and things like that that were big plays
- 23:28Speaker 6: in the game. So kudos to them, I guess, for
- 23:30Speaker 6: figuring it out by the time the game was really
- 23:33Speaker 6: decided in the fourth quarter. But statistically, the pass defense
- 23:38Speaker 6: is in a bad spot. They're giving up the most.
- 23:40Speaker 5: Yards in the league.
- 23:41Speaker 6: They're six hundred and seventy seven yards through two weeks.
- 23:45Speaker 6: They are, you know, thirty first and passer rating twenty
- 23:48Speaker 6: ninth and drop back EPA. I mean they're they're not
- 23:51Speaker 6: good there, and.
- 23:53Speaker 3: Jill get a reprieve this week.
- 23:54Speaker 5: Well and just as a again, I kind of wanted
- 23:59Speaker 5: to do this a couple of weeks because I don't
- 24:01Speaker 5: think this is really the time. Like Mike and I,
- 24:03Speaker 5: you know, we kind of had a like we did
- 24:05Speaker 5: a little finger wagging Freddy in the postgame show that
- 24:08Speaker 5: we had like an hour of like just pure excitement
- 24:11Speaker 5: and enthusiasm, and then all of a sudden we started
- 24:14Speaker 5: getting a handful of calls like did you guys watch
- 24:17Speaker 5: the same game? I mean, you know, did you miss
- 24:19Speaker 5: all No, we didn't miss all the things that were wrong.
- 24:22Speaker 5: It's just not the time, right, we won eight games
- 24:25Speaker 5: the last two years they went down to Miami and won.
- 24:28Speaker 5: This isn't the time to nitpick every single bad thing.
- 24:31Speaker 5: We'll have time for that, right, So when a nitpick.
- 24:37Speaker 5: They played two offenses in the in those two games
- 24:40Speaker 5: that when they when those two teams play other teams,
- 24:42Speaker 5: they couldn't move the ball at all. The Raiders were
- 24:45Speaker 5: nothing last night offensively, and Miami was nothing offensively against
- 24:48Speaker 5: Indianapolis in the first game. Right, and the Dvoa I
- 24:53Speaker 5: believe might be thirty two.
- 24:54Speaker 6: So they're twenty ninth and drop back EPA, they're thirty
- 24:58Speaker 6: first and passer rating if you want, you know what
- 25:00Speaker 6: the old stats all right, they're thirty first and passer
- 25:03Speaker 6: rating allowed. Uh, they just had their pass defense right
- 25:06Speaker 6: now is not good Now they don't have Christian Zalees.
- 25:08Speaker 5: Best player not playing right, not insignificant.
- 25:11Speaker 6: I keep going back to the quote in March when
- 25:14Speaker 6: they signed Carlton Davis and Ray Abel had the funny
- 25:17Speaker 6: line about cat coverage. You got this cat, I got
- 25:19Speaker 6: that cat.
- 25:20Speaker 8: Yep.
- 25:20Speaker 6: They can't play cat coverage without Christian Zalees. So they're
- 25:23Speaker 6: they're having to play a lot of zone. They're having to, uh,
- 25:27Speaker 6: you know, rely on guys like Alex Austen and uh,
- 25:30Speaker 6: you know rookie safety and Craig Woodson. You know the
- 25:33Speaker 6: guys that are are still learning on the fly how
- 25:36Speaker 6: to play against two of the best receivers in the
- 25:38Speaker 6: league and Waddle and Hill. It's a it's not an
- 25:42Speaker 6: easy task. It's not an easy task.
- 25:44Speaker 3: And you know, McDaniel is coaching for his job.
- 25:47Speaker 5: And he's he's a good offensive coach.
- 25:49Speaker 4: I won't have surprised that they had to bounce back
- 25:51Speaker 4: offensively from their for you know, week one performance. Uh
- 25:56Speaker 4: but now you know, the Patriots are given the blueprint
- 25:58Speaker 4: to the Bills, and so.
- 26:00Speaker 3: You know, we could be seeing McDaniel being given the
- 26:02Speaker 3: door turn around for them.
- 26:04Speaker 5: Huh yeah.
- 26:04Speaker 6: I just you know, you I worry about the linebackers
- 26:08Speaker 6: and safeties. You know, I think Gonzo will settle down
- 26:12Speaker 6: the stuff on the outside when he comes back, and
- 26:15Speaker 6: I have I'm really excited to watch Davis and Gonzo
- 26:19Speaker 6: play together because Davis was really good in this game
- 26:21Speaker 6: and did his job just fine. They're just attacking everybody
- 26:25Speaker 6: else right now. But still, you know, Hawkins, Woodson, Splaine, Ellis,
- 26:31Speaker 6: are those guys going to be able to hold up
- 26:33Speaker 6: in coverage in the middle of the field.
- 26:34Speaker 1: That's the four guys that I think leads the league
- 26:38Speaker 1: in mistach So.
- 26:39Speaker 7: I mean, I'm just I'm absolutely lost with that. With that,
- 26:42Speaker 7: I can't understand it. I mean, he's got more mistackles
- 26:44Speaker 7: than actual tackles. This is a guy who had over
- 26:46Speaker 7: three hundred tackles the last two years. I don't understand it.
- 26:50Speaker 7: I noticed in the video we put out of Rabel
- 26:53Speaker 7: walking in giving everybody handshakes. He gave Roberts Spaaine the handshake,
- 26:56Speaker 7: and Roberts Blayne did the old nope, nope, it wasn't
- 26:59Speaker 7: a good game.
- 27:00Speaker 1: Like he was shaking his head. You could tell he
- 27:02Speaker 1: was not happy at all.
- 27:04Speaker 7: You know, I kind of anticipated that Christianellis would be
- 27:07Speaker 7: a little bit of the weak link. I didn't think,
- 27:08Speaker 7: you know, he was a special teamer last year who
- 27:10Speaker 7: got thrust into a role. I assume that Robert Splaine,
- 27:13Speaker 7: his experience in this defense, would be kind of the
- 27:17Speaker 7: catalyst in the middle and be able to maybe offset
- 27:20Speaker 7: some of the weaknesses that they might have with Ellis
- 27:22Speaker 7: with a rookie safety, with Jalen Hawkins who's a similar
- 27:25Speaker 7: guy to Christianellis, and that he was a special teamer
- 27:27Speaker 7: last year and has now been elevated into a safety hole.
- 27:30Speaker 1: But I just I can't quite understand it.
- 27:33Speaker 7: He's trying to make plays, he's trying to you know,
- 27:35Speaker 7: hit the ball out and then missing the tackle.
- 27:38Speaker 1: And I just for a guy who is takes so
- 27:41Speaker 1: much pride.
- 27:41Speaker 7: In what he does and you can tell he's super
- 27:43Speaker 7: intense about it, to have these two kind of games,
- 27:45Speaker 7: it's just I can't quite figure it out.
- 27:47Speaker 3: His nose for the ball is good. He's there, he's.
- 27:50Speaker 1: Around it, but he's not getting he's not finishing.
- 27:52Speaker 5: You know, I'm not as worried about the mistackles because
- 27:55Speaker 5: I agree. I mean, his his resume would suggest that
- 27:58Speaker 5: he's a good tackler. We've seen him miss on tackles.
- 28:02Speaker 5: I going back to training camp, I think he chases
- 28:05Speaker 5: a lot in coverage. I thought he was gonna be
- 28:07Speaker 5: like I'm used to watching Juwan Bentley, who is a
- 28:10Speaker 5: bigger guy, but not really a three down guy because
- 28:13Speaker 5: he's not fast enough. And I thought maybe this would
- 28:15Speaker 5: be a step in the direction of improvement in that area.
- 28:19Speaker 5: I don't think he's an improvement in that area. I
- 28:21Speaker 5: don't think he's He's great in space in the past game,
- 28:24Speaker 5: but the mistackles have been glaring. I think that will improve.
- 28:29Speaker 5: I think he's a better tach.
- 28:30Speaker 4: I mean, this's a tough team to like improve your
- 28:32Speaker 4: mistackle stat.
- 28:33Speaker 7: Especially well, just like I asked you about, like the
- 28:36Speaker 7: eight Chan touchdown. You know where he like Splain is
- 28:40Speaker 7: way over wide, and I mean eight Chan just kind
- 28:42Speaker 7: of cuts in in the middle of the field, is
- 28:44Speaker 7: wide open. All we talked about last week was middle
- 28:46Speaker 7: of field, middle of the field, Middle of the field.
- 28:47Speaker 1: And it wasn't just that play.
- 28:49Speaker 7: It was a couple of times where you know, why
- 28:51Speaker 7: is he taking outside leverage on that He's got nobody inside?
- 28:53Speaker 7: And that was you know why I was gone, don't
- 28:55Speaker 7: I just I don't know if it's communication on the
- 28:58Speaker 7: back end and that they're all trying to figure out out.
- 29:00Speaker 7: But you know, again, a lot of these guys that
- 29:01Speaker 7: were brought in were in this defense before, so you.
- 29:03Speaker 1: Would expect that they would at least have a you.
- 29:05Speaker 7: Know, fundamental understanding and there wouldn't be these kind of
- 29:08Speaker 7: critical plays like that.
- 29:09Speaker 1: One, which was just you know, an absolute debacle.
- 29:12Speaker 6: Yeah, they got caught in two man. You know they're
- 29:14Speaker 6: they're in cover two man, so two deep safeties with
- 29:17Speaker 6: man coverage underneath it, and splained with just had a
- 29:20Speaker 6: chan and in that coverage. If you know that those
- 29:23Speaker 6: split safeties are over the top of the vertical routes
- 29:25Speaker 6: on the outside, it's just going to open up the
- 29:27Speaker 6: middle of the field. That was really there wasn't a
- 29:29Speaker 6: ton of time where I thought that they got beat
- 29:33Speaker 6: into in the true middle of the field. That was
- 29:35Speaker 6: a backbreaker, but it was to me, it was really
- 29:39Speaker 6: more those honey hole shots, like the corner routes, three
- 29:43Speaker 6: of them, just three explosives right on those plays alone.
- 29:47Speaker 6: But the coverage by the linebackers and the safeties, it's
- 29:52Speaker 6: it's a work in progress. And if you're going to
- 29:55Speaker 6: play three corner nickel, like someone's going to be on
- 29:58Speaker 6: the back and someone's going to be on the tight
- 30:00Speaker 6: end out of that group, like there's no there's no
- 30:03Speaker 6: way to avoid, you know, explain being in coverage sometimes,
- 30:07Speaker 6: or Hawkins or Woodson being in man coverage sometimes, Like
- 30:10Speaker 6: that's just that's how it's going to be. And those
- 30:12Speaker 6: are the matchups that like why would you throw at
- 30:14Speaker 6: Carlton Davis if you could, if you could throw at
- 30:17Speaker 6: the linebackers in safeties. It just it's just common sense.
- 30:20Speaker 7: Just one more thing, sorry, Fred, I just would say
- 30:23Speaker 7: Woodson to me, seems like he is in the vicinity
- 30:25Speaker 7: and he's seeing it right, but he's just learning how
- 30:28Speaker 7: much the NFL is a game of inches now.
- 30:31Speaker 1: Whereas a cal it was, you know, he had a
- 30:32Speaker 1: little more. I just I think I like what I
- 30:34Speaker 1: see just as a rookie.
- 30:36Speaker 7: I know it wasn't perfect, and he got picked on
- 30:38Speaker 7: a lot, but I feel like he at least showed
- 30:41Speaker 7: some promise to me.
- 30:42Speaker 1: And I might be reading too much between the lines
- 30:44Speaker 1: on that, but.
- 30:44Speaker 6: Yeah, I would like to think that, you know, some
- 30:48Speaker 6: of these I kind of think like he was just thinking,
- 30:50Speaker 6: like I'm just not going to get beat over the
- 30:52Speaker 6: top here, and so he was giving a lot of
- 30:55Speaker 6: cushion to those corner routes. And so it's like, all right, Like,
- 30:58Speaker 6: if you want to give up a twenty yard instead
- 31:00Speaker 6: of a sixty yard completion, then I can understand where
- 31:03Speaker 6: you're coming from. At I think this is a great
- 31:06Speaker 6: like teach tape for Craig Woodson, Yeah, because those are
- 31:08Speaker 6: two of the fastest guys that he's going to see
- 31:11Speaker 6: in the NFL, and so to get a feel for
- 31:13Speaker 6: that kind of speed and how difficult those types of
- 31:17Speaker 6: players are to cover, Like, he'll learn from that and
- 31:19Speaker 6: he'll grow from that now moving forward that he's seen
- 31:22Speaker 6: Hill and Wattle once, like, he'll get a good better
- 31:25Speaker 6: feel for how do I squeeze these throwing windows when
- 31:29Speaker 6: this guy is running a vertical stem right at me
- 31:32Speaker 6: and he's at twenty miles an hour, and then he
- 31:34Speaker 6: slams on the brakes and he breaks out like how
- 31:36Speaker 6: am I supposed to stop this? And I think that
- 31:39Speaker 6: will be a really good, like learning teach tape type
- 31:42Speaker 6: of thing, for.
- 31:42Speaker 4: There's so much to talk about with this game, and
- 31:44Speaker 4: we're going to open it up to our listeners and
- 31:47Speaker 4: viewers and see what they have to say. But you
- 31:49Speaker 4: know one thing that I want to add. I knew
- 31:52Speaker 4: I knew it was going to be a close game
- 31:55Speaker 4: when Barrales missed those two expo boy, It's like, boy,
- 31:58Speaker 4: even though we had the first two scores and we
- 32:01Speaker 4: stopped them, I said, those two extra points, I know
- 32:04Speaker 4: it's gonna you know, cost us, and it almost did.
- 32:08Speaker 4: But you know, miss you know, missing those two extra
- 32:11Speaker 4: points really gave me that early bad feeling that uh oh.
- 32:14Speaker 3: How did you we're in Miami.
- 32:16Speaker 1: How did you guys react when they went for the
- 32:18Speaker 1: field goal with him later in the game.
- 32:20Speaker 3: Held my breath, I held my breath. I mean, I'm
- 32:24Speaker 3: good for Vrabel, but like I was like, I don't
- 32:26Speaker 3: know if I want to do it?
- 32:28Speaker 4: No, no, yeah, yeah.
- 32:29Speaker 7: But in the kickoff too, it's just I mean, I
- 32:31Speaker 7: said to Paul, I mean, what's frustrating is just you know,
- 32:35Speaker 7: Parker Romo goes and has a pretty nice night, hits
- 32:37Speaker 7: five field goals for Atlanta. But I mean, I think
- 32:39Speaker 7: anybody who watched training camp practices this year probably gave
- 32:44Speaker 7: him the edge. Romo the edge, and you know, to
- 32:46Speaker 7: see the inconsistencies now magnified on real games with Borgalis,
- 32:52Speaker 7: it's uh, you know, I just Rabel seems like he's
- 32:55Speaker 7: outwardly showing a very patient face and a supportive face
- 32:58Speaker 7: to him, But you gotta start making kicks like this
- 33:02Speaker 7: isn't gonna last forever.
- 33:02Speaker 1: He's not going to we analyze those extras.
- 33:04Speaker 7: I mean it was the laces he said, like they
- 33:06Speaker 7: said that he was hitting the ball wrong, Like he said,
- 33:08Speaker 7: he mishit that, Yeah, mis hitting. And he said they
- 33:12Speaker 7: sit on the sideline, which I'm just like, you know,
- 33:15Speaker 7: you guys talk about like a golf swing, like, I mean,
- 33:17Speaker 7: you spend all your time working on mechanics, like how
- 33:19Speaker 7: do you think get off that much?
- 33:20Speaker 1: And then you go to a sideline and you're able
- 33:21Speaker 1: to fix it?
- 33:22Speaker 5: I interest, I mean I don't. I'm not a kicker.
- 33:24Speaker 5: So but he said he mishit them, you know, you know,
- 33:27Speaker 5: So I mean I can take him at his word.
- 33:30Speaker 5: I think it's a mental thing, and you know Mike's
- 33:34Speaker 5: thing to me, Mike. Mike had a little bit of
- 33:37Speaker 5: a pouting episode after during the game, you know, after
- 33:40Speaker 5: the second one, He's like, you know, Romo was better
- 33:43Speaker 5: in the summer, just had this like a bit. We're
- 33:46Speaker 5: all doing that, so you know, I guess you show
- 33:51Speaker 5: some patience, but I don't know how much. I don't
- 33:55Speaker 5: know how much. I mean, you saw it Atlanta, only
- 33:57Speaker 5: you know, gave it a week and they made a change.
- 34:00Speaker 5: You know who's still there, and I know his struggles
- 34:04Speaker 5: went back to last year, so it's a little different.
- 34:06Speaker 5: This guy's just trying. But you know, the last draft
- 34:09Speaker 5: pick that they had that didn't have a good year
- 34:11Speaker 5: was Chad Ryland and he's been pretty good since he left.
- 34:15Speaker 4: Right a lot of these kickers, but this is a
- 34:17Speaker 4: new place and all of a sudden they find it.
- 34:19Speaker 5: But it's it's it's it's not even and it might
- 34:22Speaker 5: be as simple as that a new place. But I
- 34:23Speaker 5: just feel like all the kickers, I say this all
- 34:27Speaker 5: the time, they're virtually the same, and every once in
- 34:30Speaker 5: a while they go through little slumps. And I think
- 34:32Speaker 5: he's probably.
- 34:33Speaker 6: I think Borer Gilis was probably gonna him.
- 34:36Speaker 5: Of course it does, Yeah, of course it does.
- 34:38Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean I'm I mean mentally, yeah, yeah, I'm.
- 34:41Speaker 6: Less worried about the kicker and more worried about the
- 34:43Speaker 6: punt return, Like you just can't give up that punt return.
- 34:46Speaker 5: No, I'm worried about a lot of things. Special teams wise,
- 34:49Speaker 5: they can't seem to get through, like and again, to
- 34:52Speaker 5: have its point the flag, the kicker not making it
- 34:54Speaker 5: isn't really to me special teams. That's that's the specialists.
- 34:58Speaker 6: And it's also the.
- 34:58Speaker 5: Kicker, Like the kicker didn't make the kicker didn't kick
- 35:01Speaker 5: it into the landing zone. You know, that's the kicker. Yeah.
- 35:04Speaker 5: The special teams penalties which happened both games, now four
- 35:07Speaker 5: of them allowing you know, a punt return for a touchdown. Yes,
- 35:11Speaker 5: you had a kick return for a touchdown. But we're
- 35:13Speaker 5: not we're not looking to like even things off here.
- 35:16Speaker 5: We want special teams to be a strength.
- 35:18Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 35:18Speaker 5: Not. We don't want to tread.
- 35:19Speaker 7: Work at the very least, I mean, just don't hurt us,
- 35:22Speaker 7: you know, yet.
- 35:24Speaker 6: A punt return touchdown in that spot, like and it
- 35:28Speaker 6: was a combination like they all got bottled up and
- 35:31Speaker 6: they had left nobody. The widest guy, I think it
- 35:35Speaker 6: was Jack Gibbons. I'm not a punt coverage like expert,
- 35:39Speaker 6: but it seemed like it was Jack Gibbons, but the
- 35:41Speaker 6: widest guy on the outside, Like you have to have
- 35:43Speaker 6: the cutback, Like you can't just get yourself sucked into
- 35:47Speaker 6: the pile, into the sideline, because then if he does
- 35:49Speaker 6: get out, it's exactly what happened is going to happen.
- 35:52Speaker 6: And you know, I thought, do you bring Matthew Slater
- 35:55Speaker 6: in just to help coach? I mean, they have two
- 35:58Speaker 6: really good special teams coaches, and Springer and Tom Quinn
- 36:02Speaker 6: like those guys.
- 36:03Speaker 4: I'm just talking about the outside guys in particular.
- 36:06Speaker 6: Yeah, maybe, I mean I thought Schooler it wasn't a
- 36:11Speaker 6: block in the back. It was it was kind of
- 36:13Speaker 6: a weird player, Like Schooler was down there.
- 36:16Speaker 3: What happened They were talking about that on the broadcast.
- 36:19Speaker 6: Yeah, he kind of the defender or the block or
- 36:21Speaker 6: the jammer. He kind of like fell backwards into Schooler
- 36:25Speaker 6: and like knocked Schooler off balance. And so I think
- 36:28Speaker 6: because he didn't actually apply force to Schooler, it's technically
- 36:32Speaker 6: not a block in the back. But it was just
- 36:35Speaker 6: an awkward kind of chain reaction that the guy the
- 36:38Speaker 6: jammer fell backwards into school er. Schooler misses the tackle
- 36:42Speaker 6: as a result of that, and now all of a sudden,
- 36:44Speaker 6: all hell breaks close from there. But that, like Paul said,
- 36:48Speaker 6: like special teams needs to be a strength. They had
- 36:51Speaker 6: four penalties and a punt return touchdown and we missed
- 36:54Speaker 6: two extra points.
- 36:54Speaker 5: And we talked about it last week with doesn't see
- 37:00Speaker 5: like that big a deal. But the Marcellus dial like
- 37:02Speaker 5: they've been searching for the guy on the other side.
- 37:05Speaker 5: Schoolers down there every time, right, we know schoolers going
- 37:08Speaker 5: to be in position more often than not, he's going
- 37:10Speaker 5: to make the play. He didn't on this one, But
- 37:13Speaker 5: they're still trying to figure out who's going to be
- 37:15Speaker 5: the guy on a game to game basis.
- 37:18Speaker 4: On the other side, well, listen, after you've mowed your
- 37:21Speaker 4: lawn with your Aaron's lawnmower, and before you give the
- 37:25Speaker 4: entree from your barbecue, you probably want something to just keep.
- 37:29Speaker 3: Give him something, a nibble appetizer.
- 37:31Speaker 4: You know, football fans know that traditions matter, and turning
- 37:33Speaker 4: moments together into something truly epic. There would inspire us
- 37:37Speaker 4: to make our masa in tostitos their traditional way, perfect
- 37:40Speaker 4: thing to serve people, starting with whole corn kernels, no
- 37:45Speaker 4: artifical official flavors, colors or preservatives, all to give you
- 37:48Speaker 4: that perfect crunch. Discover your next tradition this football season.
- 37:53Speaker 4: Head to the store, grab your Tostito's team bag and
- 37:56Speaker 4: scan the code for a chance to score an epic
- 37:58Speaker 4: experience with the Patriot. It's tostitos traditions matter. Could use
- 38:04Speaker 4: some tostitos right now now. Probably loud, yeah, not good
- 38:08Speaker 4: for radio.
- 38:09Speaker 5: Probably not. Probably not.
- 38:10Speaker 3: I'd probably make a mess.
- 38:11Speaker 4: All right, let's get to some of our callers, some
- 38:15Speaker 4: of our emails. They're coming in fast and furious. The
- 38:19Speaker 4: lines are full. So we'll start with Cam in North Carolina.
- 38:25Speaker 4: What's up, Cam?
- 38:28Speaker 9: It's Sam in North Carolina.
- 38:30Speaker 6: I'm about to ask you if that is Cam?
- 38:33Speaker 9: Ok? Yeah, but I mean coming into the season, they're
- 38:39Speaker 9: pretty much doing well. All I asked, you know, be
- 38:42Speaker 9: competitive in the games, Drake, show a little progress. I'm
- 38:46Speaker 9: sure everybody picked this big the Raiders and lose down
- 38:49Speaker 9: in Miami. We just splipped it. I mean, and you
- 38:51Speaker 9: can't ask so much more, uh I mean, the guy's
- 38:56Speaker 9: name was automatic Andy in college. I mean, got to
- 39:00Speaker 9: give him a little shot. He did make the sixty
- 39:02Speaker 9: three yard or the two extra point hurt. I mean,
- 39:05Speaker 9: but the at least is short, that's for short. At
- 39:07Speaker 9: least has got to be short. I hope that the
- 39:09Speaker 9: game ball gave confidence breaks, but I mean, let's go
- 39:14Speaker 9: with wins. Got to be better to talk about in
- 39:16Speaker 9: the lass, especially if you don't coach the number one peak.
- 39:19Speaker 3: Let's go okay, thanks, thanks Sam.
- 39:22Speaker 4: Does it help that the two extra points are more
- 39:25Speaker 4: makeable than the fifty three and if you're going to
- 39:28Speaker 4: fix something, that's easier to fix that than missing a
- 39:30Speaker 4: fifty three.
- 39:31Speaker 5: I mean, I have a little bit of a different
- 39:33Speaker 5: take on it, I think there. I mean, I know
- 39:34Speaker 5: that he's probably not thinking of it this way, but like,
- 39:37Speaker 5: once you miss two extra points, no one's expecting you
- 39:39Speaker 5: to make the.
- 39:40Speaker 3: Fifty three outer, so less pressure.
- 39:42Speaker 5: So you just go out there and you make it.
- 39:43Speaker 5: You know.
- 39:44Speaker 4: Yeah, But if you're in, if you have that mental
- 39:46Speaker 4: thing going, everything collect.
- 39:48Speaker 5: We can wait till we get through the callers. Maybe
- 39:50Speaker 5: the second half. I want to talk a little bit
- 39:52Speaker 5: about the game situation there at the end but we'll
- 39:56Speaker 5: we'll get back to that later.
- 39:57Speaker 4: Paul's school of football situation.
- 40:01Speaker 5: I think there's a lot of I think there's a
- 40:03Speaker 5: lot of ways to go there.
- 40:04Speaker 6: Okay, I did a double take.
- 40:05Speaker 1: I was sitting next.
- 40:09Speaker 6: To me and I'm listening to and all of a sudden,
- 40:13Speaker 6: all of a sudden, Paul voice asking a question at
- 40:16Speaker 6: a press conference. I was like, is that that was?
- 40:18Speaker 6: Is that Paul?
- 40:18Speaker 3: The boycott is over?
- 40:20Speaker 5: Boy?
- 40:21Speaker 8: Jump?
- 40:22Speaker 3: I don't boy, that's my question to you, said, you're
- 40:25Speaker 3: you're done with that?
- 40:26Speaker 5: I never said that. I tried to leave. First of all,
- 40:29Speaker 5: it was a very small crew yesterday media, so you
- 40:31Speaker 5: felt I try to allow the people that need the
- 40:33Speaker 5: day to day stuff to ask their questions. I don't
- 40:36Speaker 5: write day to day. I thought I'm trying to be cordial.
- 40:38Speaker 5: I thought there was no boycott.
- 40:40Speaker 4: I thought there was ad' angelo's sub that's ridiculous going it.
- 40:45Speaker 1: Was situational football. His eyes lit up, he was he
- 40:47Speaker 1: was on the edge of his seat.
- 40:48Speaker 5: But do you sand what I'm saying, Like, these guys
- 40:50Speaker 5: are here every day and they're covering the beat on
- 40:53Speaker 5: a daily basis, they're writing this. It'sous just trying to
- 40:58Speaker 5: I'm just trying to stay out of the way. The
- 41:00Speaker 5: questions that don't get asked are not necessarily questions that
- 41:03Speaker 5: I should be the one asking, right, That's true, Okay,
- 41:06Speaker 5: I want to be doing that. So that's first and foremost.
- 41:15Speaker 5: Let's go to Brian and Lowell.
- 41:16Speaker 3: What's up, Brian, Brian, Brian.
- 41:22Speaker 9: What's up?
- 41:22Speaker 10: Hey?
- 41:23Speaker 11: Hey, hey, what's going on? We gotta think about the.
- 41:26Speaker 1: Wind on Sunday.
- 41:31Speaker 11: Yeah, hey, hey, I call you guys every week and
- 41:33Speaker 11: then you know, okay, so you know what we think
- 41:35Speaker 11: guys on radio. But that that game was that can't
- 41:39Speaker 11: have me nerve racking on Asmai goal Kickerganas. So I
- 41:46Speaker 11: was about to lose.
- 41:46Speaker 5: Man, I was racking nerves literally, man.
- 41:50Speaker 12: But we pulled.
- 41:51Speaker 11: We pulled out the end though. That's all matters.
- 41:53Speaker 9: You pull the god the dubs.
- 41:54Speaker 11: So it finally beat Miami. So Miami, Miami finally is exposed,
- 42:00Speaker 11: tours exposed to thank God. So now I call that
- 42:04Speaker 11: Milton Williams do not playing a sack. Oh man, that
- 42:07Speaker 11: was nasty.
- 42:08Speaker 1: Loved it, loved it.
- 42:10Speaker 5: Oh my gosh, that was great.
- 42:12Speaker 11: I was like, oh, I was like that was that
- 42:15Speaker 11: was like a relief.
- 42:16Speaker 5: It sure was I felt really, Oh my.
- 42:20Speaker 11: God, I know Down and Tours is trying to do
- 42:23Speaker 11: too much and uh Iron and got him by the U.
- 42:27Speaker 4: Yeah great when great when thanks Brian, appreciate the call.
- 42:31Speaker 3: I got a Chris Farley call.
- 42:34Speaker 6: I'm brought up Milton Williams though we talked about him briefly,
- 42:37Speaker 6: Like that guy is an animal like that. I love
- 42:40Speaker 6: watching that guy play. His motor runs hot. Uh, he's
- 42:44Speaker 6: got a lot more in his bag than what he
- 42:45Speaker 6: showed in training camp. I mean he's been as advertising then,
- 42:50Speaker 6: so I think he's been better, honestly than I expected
- 42:52Speaker 6: him to be. I expected him to be pretty good,
- 42:55Speaker 6: but it's early. I think the one thing that I
- 42:57Speaker 6: I was texting Barth about yesterday was like, I don't
- 42:59Speaker 6: want like he's been playing with his hair on fire
- 43:03Speaker 6: so much. It's like it's a long season Millon, like
- 43:06Speaker 6: it's you know, like I remember Judon was like this
- 43:09Speaker 6: out of the gate too, and he would just be,
- 43:12Speaker 6: you know, a menace for like the first eight, nine,
- 43:14Speaker 6: ten weeks, and then that second half would hit and
- 43:16Speaker 6: he would decline.
- 43:17Speaker 4: I think one of the things, whether it was conditioning
- 43:20Speaker 4: or whatever, one of the things that were going against Judon.
- 43:23Speaker 4: In those diss PA didn't really have that much else
- 43:26Speaker 4: that teams had to worry about. This here you got
- 43:30Speaker 4: barn War, you got Chase On. You know, you've got
- 43:34Speaker 4: some other things that an offense has to worry about
- 43:37Speaker 4: besides Williams, and that might help him a little bit.
- 43:40Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean on the saka at the end of
- 43:43Speaker 6: the game, he beats a three man slide. They slide
- 43:46Speaker 6: the line to his side. They run a little stunt
- 43:48Speaker 6: with him and Landry and he splits the double team
- 43:51Speaker 6: and just goes right to the quarterback and takes them
- 43:53Speaker 6: down like that.
- 43:55Speaker 5: That is it.
- 43:55Speaker 1: Time play.
- 43:56Speaker 6: Yeah, it's just an incredible play. I mean, it just
- 43:58Speaker 6: really he's just it has been so good. I just
- 44:01Speaker 6: hope that it can he can keep it up because
- 44:03Speaker 6: he's just been playing with all out effort and that's
- 44:06Speaker 6: hard to do for seventeen weeks.
- 44:07Speaker 4: Anthony's in Seattle.
- 44:09Speaker 3: What's up?
- 44:09Speaker 4: Anthony?
- 44:11Speaker 13: The double return game rolls right off the tongue. I
- 44:14Speaker 13: could hear I got a picture. You know, guys, in
- 44:17Speaker 13: a handful of years, you guys are talking, you know,
- 44:19Speaker 13: talking about oh, you know, uh, May's first thing that
- 44:22Speaker 13: you win that was down in Miami. The double return game.
- 44:24Speaker 14: Oh yeah, that's it.
- 44:25Speaker 13: You know, so I think I have the what do
- 44:27Speaker 13: you guys think for the for that for a name.
- 44:29Speaker 5: I would go with the Rabel kickoff return game.
- 44:31Speaker 4: The Rabel kickoff return game.
- 44:33Speaker 5: It's a mouthful return.
- 44:35Speaker 1: David Silm about David Silverman game.
- 44:37Speaker 13: Yeah, that was That was my way of fishing for
- 44:39Speaker 13: a PUS shirt because I know how smart.
- 44:41Speaker 1: Place there you go, you'll get.
- 44:42Speaker 13: I got three things. I'm gonna talk to that just
- 44:45Speaker 13: so I can get them out. One, I'm flying to
- 44:48Speaker 13: Boston on Friday. My first trip to Boston is in
- 44:51Speaker 13: my first Patriots home game. I'm excited. I'm not rich,
- 44:54Speaker 13: so I can coordinate with the team. Uh two things.
- 44:57Speaker 13: One small criticism for Paul and uh A Flowers produced. Paul,
- 45:01Speaker 13: somebody on the postgame show mentioned that we scored thirty points.
- 45:06Speaker 13: You push back because of the return. But if we're
- 45:08Speaker 13: going to be consistent, which you normally are, you know
- 45:10Speaker 13: when the Patriots fans do that, you know because of
- 45:12Speaker 13: a defensive score.
- 45:13Speaker 5: Whatever you say, how many points did the Dolphins score
- 45:15Speaker 5: in the game twenty? They scored twenty, which is what
- 45:20Speaker 5: everybody said that in the postgame show, they held another
- 45:23Speaker 5: team to twenty. That's what that was. That was the mentality.
- 45:27Speaker 13: That's one lesson.
- 45:28Speaker 5: And I also would take away the last field goal
- 45:30Speaker 5: that you took over and went four plays three yards
- 45:33Speaker 5: to kicked the field goal. They had twenty they and
- 45:36Speaker 5: I actually gave them three. Gave him credit for more
- 45:39Speaker 5: points because I'm giving them credit for the extra points
- 45:41Speaker 5: that they missed. The offense actually should have put seven
- 45:45Speaker 5: on the board twice and they only put six on
- 45:48Speaker 5: the board. I give them, I'm fair. I give them
- 45:50Speaker 5: points that they didn't actually record twenty four.
- 45:53Speaker 4: They had thirty five.
- 45:54Speaker 5: To me, this was a twenty four point performance by
- 45:56Speaker 5: the offense, all right. The offense was responsible for twenty
- 45:59Speaker 5: four points. Best true, best offensive game that they've had
- 46:02Speaker 5: in a long time, a long time. And I think
- 46:05Speaker 5: I said it earlier in the show. I felt Drake
- 46:07Speaker 5: May's best game by a long wide margin. Stats.
- 46:12Speaker 4: Thanks Anthony and Anthony, I know you're still listening. You
- 46:16Speaker 4: picked a good game to come to because this weekend
- 46:19Speaker 4: is the induction of Julian Edelman and Bill Parcells into
- 46:24Speaker 4: the Patriots.
- 46:24Speaker 3: Hall of Fame. On Saturday.
- 46:26Speaker 4: Saturday, they'll have the event it's free of charge, so
- 46:29Speaker 4: I don't know where you're staying, but I would get
- 46:32Speaker 4: down here on Saturday check that out. And then you've
- 46:35Speaker 4: got the game on Sunday with Julian Edelman being honored
- 46:40Speaker 4: at halftime of the game. So a good weekend to
- 46:44Speaker 4: be here for Anthony and anyone else that's in the vicinity.
- 46:48Speaker 4: Come down a Patriot Place on Saturday and watch the induction.
- 46:52Speaker 4: That should be really cool seeing Parcels back here, and
- 46:56Speaker 4: I'm sure Julian Edelman will have some funny things to say,
- 47:00Speaker 4: so that'll be a good event.
- 47:01Speaker 7: I'm really interested to see Bill Parcels come back here
- 47:04Speaker 7: and just see that happen. And we've talked about it
- 47:06Speaker 7: for so long whether or not he was going to
- 47:08Speaker 7: get in. How are the fans going to respond? I mean,
- 47:11Speaker 7: I'm sure they'll be gracious and excited for him, but
- 47:13Speaker 7: you know, it's just a chapter of pat Patriots history
- 47:16Speaker 7: that I remember very clearly, and now to kind of
- 47:19Speaker 7: have that come full circle, I think it'll be pretty
- 47:21Speaker 7: cool to see.
- 47:21Speaker 4: Yeah, so that's happening this Saturday here at Patriot Place.
- 47:26Speaker 3: Let's go to New Jersey. Dan's there, what's up?
- 47:29Speaker 10: Dan?
- 47:31Speaker 4: Hey?
- 47:31Speaker 15: Guys torn between a couple of points. So I'm just
- 47:35Speaker 15: gonna mention this because the previous color mentioned the double return.
- 47:40Speaker 15: It's exceedingly rare. I don't know if you guys are aware.
- 47:43Speaker 15: It only happened one other time that I that AI
- 47:48Speaker 15: told me about. Careful there was a game between I
- 47:54Speaker 15: guess Washington and Atlanta. Desmond Howard returned to punts and
- 47:59Speaker 15: then on the immediate you know, the next play, Dion standards.
- 48:04Speaker 5: Yes, I don't know.
- 48:06Speaker 15: I don't know if anyone pointed that out.
- 48:09Speaker 4: I think it was pointed out on well maybe not
- 48:12Speaker 4: on the broadcast, but since then we get like these
- 48:14Speaker 4: research notes from the league, and that night it was
- 48:18Speaker 4: pointed out.
- 48:19Speaker 3: And even in my mind, I was thinking, when was the.
- 48:21Speaker 4: Last time they went back to back and I knew
- 48:23Speaker 4: that Dion Sanders was involved, Uh so I didn't.
- 48:27Speaker 5: I just thought I was just thinking off the top
- 48:29Speaker 5: of my head returns. But if it's a punt.
- 48:32Speaker 3: It's back to bad.
- 48:33Speaker 5: But it can only right, well, it can be kickoffs,
- 48:35Speaker 5: two kickoffs, right, and that I can think of many
- 48:38Speaker 5: times where that's happened. But if it's a punt followed
- 48:40Speaker 5: by a kick, I don't know two, all right, thanks
- 48:45Speaker 5: Dan for the I mean they were back to back kickoff.
- 48:49Speaker 1: Returns, yep.
- 48:50Speaker 3: And I think was involved in those two.
- 48:52Speaker 5: In a Super Bowl. Yeah, that happened, right, the Giants
- 48:55Speaker 5: Raven Super Bowl. It happened in a Patriots game. And
- 49:00Speaker 5: I forget, I forget the details, but I remember Ellis
- 49:05Speaker 5: Hobbs was the returner for the Was.
- 49:08Speaker 4: That the ninety eight yard one? I mean not one
- 49:11Speaker 4: hundred and five yard one?
- 49:12Speaker 1: Jets, right, I guess the Jets.
- 49:14Speaker 5: Yeah. I forget the details of the game. But I
- 49:17Speaker 5: was just doing some research on this for some of
- 49:20Speaker 5: the we were looking for the old photos for you know,
- 49:23Speaker 5: the games for the Game Day magazine, and I was like, oh,
- 49:26Speaker 5: I don't even remember this. I was going back researching.
- 49:29Speaker 5: I was like, they returned a kick for a touchdown
- 49:31Speaker 5: and then Ellis Hobbs returned the kick right back for
- 49:33Speaker 5: a touchdown.
- 49:36Speaker 3: Yep.
- 49:36Speaker 5: But if it's a punt followed by a kick, I
- 49:38Speaker 5: don't that one I remember? Is Lucky?
- 49:41Speaker 3: So Connecticut? What's up? Lucky Lucky?
- 49:45Speaker 8: Going on? Fred? How you doing?
- 49:46Speaker 12: How you've been?
- 49:47Speaker 3: I'm doing good?
- 49:48Speaker 10: Oh?
- 49:49Speaker 1: Is this lucky?
- 49:50Speaker 5: Yes? It's lucky? It says it right, there, remember Lucky, Yeah,
- 49:54Speaker 5: we used to always play the Napoleon Dynamite Lucky. Where
- 49:56Speaker 5: you've been, Matt Mattison and you.
- 50:00Speaker 8: Know the military. That's all I.
- 50:01Speaker 4: Do is work, Okay, thank you for your service.
- 50:05Speaker 8: I mean, I don't listen, but I'm happy because you know,
- 50:10Speaker 8: this is my birthday. We actually today's my birthday and
- 50:12Speaker 8: the Patriots gave me a great gift because happy birthday.
- 50:15Speaker 8: Thank you. I appreciate it. You have to deal with
- 50:19Speaker 8: a Patriots loss, so I'm ecstatic about that. What do
- 50:24Speaker 8: you think is uh for the next outcome of the
- 50:28Speaker 8: next couple of games? What do you think the record
- 50:30Speaker 8: is going to be for the next four games?
- 50:34Speaker 4: The Patriots have a three game road trip right after
- 50:38Speaker 4: this Pittsburgh game, right, I have that right correct?
- 50:43Speaker 3: To get the Buffalo Sunday night game. That's gonna be tough.
- 50:46Speaker 5: What's after Buffalo?
- 50:48Speaker 6: I can't remember.
- 50:49Speaker 5: Carolina is one of them.
- 50:52Speaker 16: I can't remember Carolina, Buffalo, Tennesseeis Pittsburgh, Carolina, Buffalo, nor
- 51:04Speaker 16: Tennessee Cleveland in those four games.
- 51:07Speaker 5: I like to be Carolina and Tennessee.
- 51:09Speaker 7: Yeah, I think Pittsburgh for me is a little bit
- 51:11Speaker 7: of a wild card. I'd make that one a little
- 51:12Speaker 7: bit more possible to lose to that one. But I
- 51:15Speaker 7: could see three in one of.
- 51:16Speaker 3: These games, in my view, will still be US two
- 51:18Speaker 3: and two.
- 51:19Speaker 5: In my view, all.
- 51:19Speaker 6: These games are They're just they're like toss ups. I
- 51:22Speaker 6: could see. I can make an argument.
- 51:24Speaker 5: Strongly either way. They can win. They can absolutely be Pittsburgh.
- 51:29Speaker 5: They can absolutely win this game, especially if the Steelers
- 51:31Speaker 5: defense continues to sort of struggle like it has out
- 51:34Speaker 5: of the gate.
- 51:34Speaker 4: Crazy, Lucky, It's good to hear from you.
- 51:38Speaker 8: Yes, good, good to hear from you guys, And you
- 51:41Speaker 8: guys take care all right. Hopefully we have a great
- 51:44Speaker 8: Patriots season. I'm not looking for you know, the playoffs whatever,
- 51:48Speaker 8: I'm just looking for improvement for this year and then
- 51:50Speaker 8: next year we'll talk about going all the way.
- 51:53Speaker 5: Yeah, gotcha, all right.
- 51:54Speaker 3: Enjoy your birthday, Lucky, Thank you, Lucky, Lucky.
- 51:57Speaker 5: Yeah, thank you man. Was that so hard? Thank you?
- 52:02Speaker 6: Looky, Steelers defense might be the only defense it's been
- 52:04Speaker 6: worse than the Patriots in Miami. They they've given up
- 52:08Speaker 6: big plays at a crazy raid. They're five Pro Bowlers
- 52:11Speaker 6: on that defense and they can't get stop. Yeah, it's crazy.
- 52:15Speaker 1: Hopefully not to get right weekend for them.
- 52:17Speaker 7: I also say, though, like even though I think we
- 52:18Speaker 7: all would give Buffalo the edge in a couple of weeks,
- 52:21Speaker 7: just to see them go up there again on the
- 52:22Speaker 7: heels of going down to Miami.
- 52:24Speaker 1: You know, what does it look like up there?
- 52:25Speaker 7: How are they able to go on to another really
- 52:28Speaker 7: tough place, tough divisional road game, and what do they
- 52:31Speaker 7: got to throw at Josh Allen?
- 52:32Speaker 6: It would be pretty cool if I mean getting ahead
- 52:35Speaker 6: of ourselves. But I think Pittsburgh and Carolina are a
- 52:37Speaker 6: winnable game. And if you if you take care of
- 52:41Speaker 6: business and you go to Buffalo three and one, and
- 52:43Speaker 6: that's like an actual game.
- 52:44Speaker 5: And the game for the a f C weeks, you
- 52:50Speaker 5: should be looking at those terms. Yeah, that should be
- 52:53Speaker 5: what what you're thinking. Not you know, Oh, if everything
- 52:57Speaker 5: goes hopefully, when you start with three home games in
- 52:59Speaker 5: the first four weeks, you should get off to a
- 53:01Speaker 5: good start.
- 53:01Speaker 1: Be great for the NFL.
- 53:02Speaker 7: I mean, then how to market that Buffalo everywhere in
- 53:04Speaker 7: their rivalry uniforms.
- 53:05Speaker 3: It'll be lots.
- 53:06Speaker 6: I'm not a big fan of the whole Well, everybody
- 53:08Speaker 6: thought they were going to beat the Raiders and one
- 53:10Speaker 6: what well, did everybody know in Miami was gonna look
- 53:12Speaker 6: like this before the season started?
- 53:15Speaker 5: Like this bad? Yeah, I don't think. I don't think
- 53:19Speaker 5: everybody thought it was going to be like they're gonna
- 53:22Speaker 5: be the worst team in football in the first two
- 53:23Speaker 5: weeks of the season, and that's what they've been.
- 53:26Speaker 4: Elfram Wisconsin says, Fred yelled at me last week. But
- 53:30Speaker 4: that's what I get for channeling my inner Andy and
- 53:33Speaker 4: taking Fred's argument to the theater of the absurd. Now
- 53:36Speaker 4: allow me to steal another Andy take. It's Chise time.
- 53:40Speaker 4: I think I'm all set on the pop Douglas run and.
- 53:42Speaker 6: Didn't play It's pit fifteen snaps.
- 53:46Speaker 5: So this is another one. Mike and I want to
- 53:48Speaker 5: credit our great listeners on Sundays, you guys missed out
- 53:51Speaker 5: on a lot of insightful stuff and pre and post game.
- 53:53Speaker 6: Show actually covering the game.
- 53:55Speaker 5: I'm I'm just kidding, no, but someone someone wrote in
- 53:59Speaker 5: and suggested that maybe we see a slight change and
- 54:03Speaker 5: lean more toward Hollins than Douglas. And you know, initially
- 54:08Speaker 5: you're like, well that doesn't really make sense, but I did,
- 54:11Speaker 5: you know, give the guy his props by you know,
- 54:14Speaker 5: like they used Hollands a lot in the slot. He's
- 54:17Speaker 5: a versatile guy, even though he doesn't look like a
- 54:19Speaker 5: slot receiver because he's so big. They wanted to run
- 54:22Speaker 5: the ball at the beginning of the game. Hollins gives
- 54:24Speaker 5: them obviously another blocker. Have you liked that stuff? You're
- 54:27Speaker 5: a ball mower. I'll get to receivers receivers as blockers.
- 54:31Speaker 5: And just how they said how they were able to
- 54:33Speaker 5: use Hollands in the run game, kind of motioning out
- 54:37Speaker 5: from the outside, coming out slamming on a run. It
- 54:39Speaker 5: perfectly sets up the first touchdown, like you just same
- 54:42Speaker 5: look you come down and all of a sudden, it
- 54:45Speaker 5: makes it look like he's kind of come down to
- 54:46Speaker 5: block again and he's wide open coming out. So the
- 54:50Speaker 5: emailer suggested that slight change. And then you look at
- 54:53Speaker 5: the end of the game, Douglas really wasn't a factor.
- 54:56Speaker 5: He only played what was it, fifteen snaps. He barely played.
- 55:00Speaker 5: I don't think Douglas did anything wrong in the game,
- 55:03Speaker 5: but he wasn't Obviously a big part of the game plan.
- 55:06Speaker 6: Hollins was very good. Yeah, so they've been using Hollins.
- 55:11Speaker 5: Just so you know, Mike and I got this off
- 55:12Speaker 5: of the television.
- 55:13Speaker 6: Okay, So they've been using Hollins as a sniffer in
- 55:18Speaker 6: the sniffer role, So right in the sea gap, right behind.
- 55:22Speaker 17: How sniff right right off, right off the hip of
- 55:29Speaker 17: Eric was a k sniffer, right off the hip of
- 55:32Speaker 17: the tackle.
- 55:32Speaker 6: I'm just going to keep right right off the hip
- 55:35Speaker 6: of the tackle. And what they've been doing is they
- 55:38Speaker 6: have been inserting him up to the second level on duo,
- 55:42Speaker 6: so they had the double teams on the inside. He's
- 55:44Speaker 6: been kicking out the linebacker up on the second level.
- 55:47Speaker 6: And so to Paul's point, on the touchdown play, they
- 55:50Speaker 6: have him sniff, you have him go up like he's
- 55:53Speaker 6: going to block, and then they boot, and then they
- 55:56Speaker 6: sneak him out on the corner and the whole defense
- 56:00Speaker 6: is reacting like it's a run play and they all
- 56:02Speaker 6: get sucked in by the sniffer and then Holland sneaks
- 56:06Speaker 6: out on the corner and is, you know, wide open
- 56:08Speaker 6: for the touchdown. So that's that's an in vogue thing
- 56:13Speaker 6: I would say in the NFL. I probably give the
- 56:16Speaker 6: credit to Sean McVay. He's kind of the first guy
- 56:18Speaker 6: that started doing that with Cooper Cup and Pooka. They
- 56:21Speaker 6: do that a ton. But now all of these teams
- 56:24Speaker 6: that are are majoring in outside zone and duo are
- 56:27Speaker 6: using the receivers like that as you know, inserts to
- 56:31Speaker 6: the to the second level in the blocking scheme. So
- 56:34Speaker 6: it's a big part of it. And then you can
- 56:35Speaker 6: sell it, you sell play action And I was actually
- 56:38Speaker 6: talking to Julian Edelman about this, like you can actually
- 56:42Speaker 6: set up the pass with the run blocking as the
- 56:46Speaker 6: receiver too, because if you come hard out of the
- 56:48Speaker 6: gate on the blocks and then you do that every
- 56:52Speaker 6: single time, well now they don't know if it's a
- 56:54Speaker 6: runner or a pass, and so when it ends up
- 56:57Speaker 6: being play action pass, like they're a false stepping up
- 56:59Speaker 6: toward is the line of scrimmage thinking it's run, and
- 57:01Speaker 6: then you can use the same sort of formation, same alignment,
- 57:05Speaker 6: and you know, same you know, a couple of initial
- 57:08Speaker 6: movements to get open. So they've been doing that a
- 57:12Speaker 6: lot more with Hollins, and I would fully expect that
- 57:15Speaker 6: to continue. I mean, it's been pretty useful for them.
- 57:18Speaker 4: All right, Collins in Kansas City, Fred missed you at
- 57:21Speaker 4: the start Sunday, first win in Miami since twenty nineteen.
- 57:25Speaker 4: We finally broke the schnide vers Tua. Not perfect, sure,
- 57:28Speaker 4: but when it's third and twenty four and the third
- 57:30Speaker 4: and Drake Evate's pressure to drop a fifty five yard
- 57:33Speaker 4: dime to Stevenson, that's a pulse.
- 57:35Speaker 5: That's hope. Then third and what I don't think it
- 57:39Speaker 5: was third? Four?
- 57:41Speaker 6: Third and fourth?
- 57:41Speaker 5: Yeah, then in the a little bit of a difference, yeah,
- 57:44Speaker 5: a little bit.
- 57:45Speaker 4: Then in the fourth we get a kick return touchdown,
- 57:48Speaker 4: a pick and a sack, exactly the kind of place
- 57:51Speaker 4: we've been begging for. What do Pauline induce? Do toss
- 57:55Speaker 4: the wet blanket on the whole thing? Fellas, come on,
- 57:58Speaker 4: we get it. Improvements needed, bah blah blah, but we won.
- 58:01Speaker 5: That's ridiculous reading because that I'm angry that that's this
- 58:06Speaker 5: email is angering me. I know that's that didn't happen.
- 58:10Speaker 5: It's the absolute opposite. We were actually chastising the listeners
- 58:14Speaker 5: who are calling in with that kind of talk, and
- 58:17Speaker 5: we were saying, today is not the day for that. Okay,
- 58:20Speaker 5: So if you can't listen, that's a problem. Problem, he says, Dude,
- 58:24Speaker 5: I'm not here to talk about anything negative about that game,
- 58:27Speaker 5: not this week.
- 58:28Speaker 3: Dude, is embrace your fan side for once.
- 58:30Speaker 5: I'm believable.
- 58:31Speaker 6: It's got to be if we're telling Duce to embrace
- 58:34Speaker 6: his fans side, then.
- 58:35Speaker 3: Also receipts check.
- 58:37Speaker 4: Fred guaranteed the win and only one to nail thirty points, Paul. Meanwhile,
- 58:42Speaker 4: if they score thirty, it's a blowout. No way, it's close.
- 58:45Speaker 4: Uh nailed that one. Maybe slam a couple celsius next.
- 58:49Speaker 3: Time and leave the e or act at home.
- 58:51Speaker 5: Wow?
- 58:53Speaker 3: Was that the calling in Kansas City.
- 58:55Speaker 5: The only thing that was true about that is I
- 58:56Speaker 5: thought that the Patriots are win by two scores instead
- 58:59Speaker 5: of one. It's the only true part of that that
- 59:02Speaker 5: that happened. Everything else is exactly the opposite of what
- 59:05Speaker 5: the postgame show was. Mike and I were like pants
- 59:07Speaker 5: off for like the first hour of the show, like
- 59:09Speaker 5: they finally won down in Miami. They finally did all
- 59:13Speaker 5: the things that he just explained, although he just created
- 59:15Speaker 5: a third and twenty four that didn't exist. All the
- 59:18Speaker 5: things to win the game at the end of the game,
- 59:21Speaker 5: all the plays that the Patriots made, that's what we accentuated,
- 59:25Speaker 5: not the mistakes that they made during the game. We
- 59:27Speaker 5: accentuated Milton Williams coming up with a huge sack at
- 59:30Speaker 5: the end of the game, Mike talking about the differences
- 59:34Speaker 5: offensively in the second half, and they were able to
- 59:37Speaker 5: get up off the mat and make that play to
- 59:39Speaker 5: Vermarder Stevens because you were a little bit concerned. Remember
- 59:41Speaker 5: when they come out three and out the first drive
- 59:43Speaker 5: of the second half, and they were basically at play
- 59:46Speaker 5: from doing it again, or at least having a punt
- 59:49Speaker 5: if they had gotten a first down before that. So
- 59:53Speaker 5: I can't help you if you can't listen incomprehend The
- 59:55Speaker 5: only thing I thought. I thought that if the Patriots
- 59:58Speaker 5: scored thirty points would be a two score game. I
- 1:00:02Speaker 5: didn't really score thirty points, but I thought it would
- 1:00:05Speaker 5: be a two score game.
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: I was wrong.
- 1:00:06Speaker 4: Uh, Costello says, not you guys, But I've heard many
- 1:00:10Speaker 4: complaints about the win. Even during the Empire, going to
- 1:00:13Speaker 4: Miami was hard and weird. They got out with a win.
- 1:00:16Speaker 4: This team doesn't win anymore. Please be happy or don't whatever.
- 1:00:20Speaker 5: I agree with that. There were a lot of people
- 1:00:22Speaker 5: calling in, especially in the second hour of the postgame show,
- 1:00:26Speaker 5: talking about all the things that went wrong, and I
- 1:00:28Speaker 5: think Mike and I were telling people. I mean, Mike
- 1:00:31Speaker 5: jump in here. No, you're right, I mean like I'm
- 1:00:34Speaker 5: just being overly defensive.
- 1:00:35Speaker 7: No, And I just I found this energizing and like
- 1:00:39Speaker 7: I have to be happy.
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: Like, look, I'm going to react the way I want
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: to react.
- 1:00:43Speaker 7: And I know I'm a fan guy, but like to me,
- 1:00:46Speaker 7: when I was excited to see this game, I went
- 1:00:48Speaker 7: back yesterday. I was energized to go back and look
- 1:00:50Speaker 7: at what was wrong because it feels like it's worth
- 1:00:52Speaker 7: it to try to fix it, and to look at
- 1:00:54Speaker 7: the things and say, there's something here. What are the
- 1:00:57Speaker 7: things we need to correct instead of just sitting there
- 1:01:00Speaker 7: saying over and over how great Drake May was great.
- 1:01:02Speaker 7: Drake May was great, he was his best game. What
- 1:01:04Speaker 7: are we going to say for the next two and
- 1:01:06Speaker 7: a half hours of the show.
- 1:01:07Speaker 5: So if I was going to like fast forward to
- 1:01:09Speaker 5: like a month from now, if we're still playing the
- 1:01:11Speaker 5: same kinds of games, I would say, let's count up
- 1:01:14Speaker 5: all the things that we thought were great. Okay, Drake
- 1:01:18Speaker 5: May will start. Evan spent ten minutes talking about the
- 1:01:22Speaker 5: different things that Josh McDaniels did in Week two over
- 1:01:24Speaker 5: Week one, monre Right, Ramandre Stevenson was a man possessed.
- 1:01:28Speaker 5: Milton Williams has been almost unblockable at times, especially with
- 1:01:32Speaker 5: the game on the line. Harold Landry has three and
- 1:01:34Speaker 5: a half sacks. Patriots have nine sacks, leading the league
- 1:01:37Speaker 5: through two weeks. And they won because the guy stepped
- 1:01:40Speaker 5: out of bounds with a minute left. So if you
- 1:01:45Speaker 5: want to get negative, you could do that. You needed
- 1:01:47Speaker 5: all these great things to happen, and you still were
- 1:01:50Speaker 5: blade of grass away from losing. So that, I guess,
- 1:01:55Speaker 5: is what you're looking for. The fans that are saying
- 1:01:57Speaker 5: that we're ignoring the bad stuff, I'm not ignoring them
- 1:02:00Speaker 5: that stuff. Twelve penalties is entirely too many, too many
- 1:02:03Speaker 5: penalties most of the league, right, But they're protecting the
- 1:02:06Speaker 5: football and they took advantage of the other team's mistakes
- 1:02:10Speaker 5: to make the plays when the game was on the line.
- 1:02:13Speaker 5: I'm going to treat that as enormous progress. From week one,
- 1:02:16Speaker 5: forget about the last two years.
- 1:02:18Speaker 6: From week one, the Raiders did a million things wrong
- 1:02:22Speaker 6: to sabotage themselves in the game, and the Patriots couldn't
- 1:02:24Speaker 6: take advantage of it.
- 1:02:25Speaker 5: This week they did.
- 1:02:27Speaker 6: I just wonder, like just watching teams and games around
- 1:02:31Speaker 6: the league. I get that we've seen kind of two
- 1:02:33Speaker 6: different games, either rock fights where the Patriots win thirteen
- 1:02:37Speaker 6: to six or blowouts where the Patriots lose.
- 1:02:39Speaker 5: Like that, that's a good point.
- 1:02:41Speaker 6: Those are the two types of game games that we see.
- 1:02:43Speaker 6: But most of the rest of the league plays games
- 1:02:46Speaker 6: like we saw on Sunday, where it's back and forth
- 1:02:49Speaker 6: in the fourth quarter and the end of the game
- 1:02:51Speaker 6: kind of decides.
- 1:02:52Speaker 5: You went, like the Broncos and Colts, you watch any
- 1:02:54Speaker 5: of that, A little talk about a roller cards you
- 1:02:56Speaker 5: were traveling, Yeah, talk about the roller coaster.
- 1:02:59Speaker 6: Right, these those types of games, this is the type
- 1:03:02Speaker 6: of game that teams usually play. So yeah, like in
- 1:03:04Speaker 6: those types of games, there's gonna be mistakes and then
- 1:03:07Speaker 6: there's gonna be good things. And we talked a lot
- 1:03:09Speaker 6: about the defense, which I think has a lot of
- 1:03:12Speaker 6: concerns right now about the past defense. But at the
- 1:03:14Speaker 6: same time, like you could say, you know that about
- 1:03:17Speaker 6: a lot of games this week that teams gave up
- 1:03:19Speaker 6: a lot of yards and then clamp down in the
- 1:03:21Speaker 6: fourth quarter and ended up winning games. So this is
- 1:03:24Speaker 6: what it looks like when you actually like get into
- 1:03:27Speaker 6: a fight with somebody and you punch back and there's
- 1:03:30Speaker 6: a back and forth throughout the course of the game.
- 1:03:32Speaker 5: That's it. To me, It's like it wasn't perfect, but
- 1:03:36Speaker 5: for once you punched back and you punched last, you know,
- 1:03:41Speaker 5: And that's to me what that was my big takeaway
- 1:03:43Speaker 5: from the game on Sunday. That's why I get kind
- 1:03:46Speaker 5: of annoyed. I get that a lot, Like the whole
- 1:03:48Speaker 5: EA thing. I get it, Like, my job isn't to
- 1:03:51Speaker 5: do you what you're doing. My job isn't to be
- 1:03:53Speaker 5: a fan. My job is to analyze the game. But
- 1:03:56Speaker 5: on Sunday, Mike and I were really upbeat because for
- 1:04:00Speaker 5: once the narrative changed and to be like characterized like
- 1:04:05Speaker 5: we were dumping all over the wind like we were
- 1:04:07Speaker 5: Mike and Tony, it's just not It's just really not
- 1:04:09Speaker 5: what happened.
- 1:04:10Speaker 4: Uh, Mark and Shadow says cat Coverage. Nope, I know
- 1:04:14Speaker 4: Evan is a ball noer, and I am most certainly not.
- 1:04:16Speaker 4: I also learn a lot from Evan on how plays
- 1:04:18Speaker 4: are built and what they're trying to do. However, however,
- 1:04:21Speaker 4: Cat Coverage, every time he uses the phrase, I hear
- 1:04:24Speaker 4: Andy Hart in my head going hard.
- 1:04:26Speaker 3: Oh just call it, man to man.
- 1:04:29Speaker 6: I'm just quoting the head coach.
- 1:04:30Speaker 5: So that yeah, that's that's Mike Rados quote from his
- 1:04:33Speaker 5: introductory Prescott quick over under game based on the.
- 1:04:37Speaker 4: Performance so far for the season, Landry sacks thirty four,
- 1:04:42Speaker 4: here's three and a half sacks under under Stevenson, rushing
- 1:04:46Speaker 4: yards five hundred and eighty six point five.
- 1:04:48Speaker 3: He's being funny.
- 1:04:49Speaker 6: Here is this the same guy that's made front of
- 1:04:51Speaker 6: me for palling your cat coverage?
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: Good email?
- 1:04:53Speaker 3: And he goes on like this, Paul's correct, pats picks zero.
- 1:04:57Speaker 5: H that is true. I had the Patriots beating the Raiders.
- 1:05:00Speaker 3: What about Patriots wins eight and a half over?
- 1:05:04Speaker 5: I would say, under stand on nine.
- 1:05:06Speaker 3: And Douglas receiving yard's fifty one.
- 1:05:09Speaker 5: Yeah, he's right about my picks, though my picks around it.
- 1:05:12Speaker 5: It's not just reserved for the Patriots.
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: Man lost a little bit.
- 1:05:15Speaker 5: I guess I've lost it, you know what I am?
- 1:05:18Speaker 5: Overall through two weeks seventeen and fifteen, I stink. See
- 1:05:25Speaker 5: it's not that hard. When you make mistakes, you admit
- 1:05:28Speaker 5: you made mistakes. I can't pick a game to save
- 1:05:30Speaker 5: my life right now.
- 1:05:32Speaker 3: Can we talk about pop for a second. Yeah, they're
- 1:05:34Speaker 3: talking about Pop.
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: I mean, can were talking about Pop? Now?
- 1:05:37Speaker 3: Talking about Pop?
- 1:05:37Speaker 6: Now, what's going on there? I have decided, because I've
- 1:05:43Speaker 6: thought a lot about this, of course, I've decided that
- 1:05:47Speaker 6: this might be a man versus zone situation. So to
- 1:05:52Speaker 6: the first two weeks, the Patriots have seen zone coverage
- 1:05:54Speaker 6: almost eighty four percent of the time. Teams are just
- 1:05:57Speaker 6: not playing man to man against them. And we know
- 1:06:00Speaker 6: that Pop not exactly the best guy to settle in
- 1:06:04Speaker 6: the zone and he just I well, first of all,
- 1:06:08Speaker 6: he's five foot eight, so like that doesn't help.
- 1:06:10Speaker 3: But what does that have to do with settling in
- 1:06:11Speaker 3: the zone.
- 1:06:12Speaker 6: Because it's a small target. You're trying to hit it.
- 1:06:14Speaker 3: I know, but like if you find that space then
- 1:06:17Speaker 3: you know.
- 1:06:18Speaker 6: Right, but you're trying to hit like a small window
- 1:06:21Speaker 6: in between two zone defenders. And he doesn't have much
- 1:06:24Speaker 6: of a catch radius or much of an ability to
- 1:06:27Speaker 6: win the ball at the catch point. I don't think
- 1:06:29Speaker 6: that that's your ideal receiver to cover, you know, to
- 1:06:33Speaker 6: target in those situations down the field. If teams start
- 1:06:37Speaker 6: playing more man to man against the Patriots, then I
- 1:06:40Speaker 6: think we'll see a lot more effectiveness from Pop Douglas.
- 1:06:43Speaker 3: How do you get him to do that.
- 1:06:45Speaker 5: Well, do you think that they'll continue to play zone
- 1:06:47Speaker 5: because of Drake made his legs.
- 1:06:49Speaker 6: That's sort of what I'm assuming is happening, is that
- 1:06:53Speaker 6: they want to keep eyes on Drake and then keep
- 1:06:55Speaker 6: them in the pocket and like week one, let make
- 1:06:58Speaker 6: them dice you up right like that, that's the the
- 1:07:00Speaker 6: game plan that teams are using. But in this game,
- 1:07:04Speaker 6: they kind of anticipated that from Miami, and Josh McDaniels
- 1:07:07Speaker 6: had a lot of really good zone beating concepts ready
- 1:07:11Speaker 6: for that, and all the moving pockets and all that
- 1:07:13Speaker 6: stuff help with that too. And so now if that's
- 1:07:16Speaker 6: the way the Patriots are gonna pivot, you know, the
- 1:07:18Speaker 6: defenses then pivot back and that would start playing more
- 1:07:21Speaker 6: man to man. So I wonder how much of it,
- 1:07:24Speaker 6: you know. I think the run game stuff is a big,
- 1:07:26Speaker 6: big part of it as well. I'd say that's probably
- 1:07:28Speaker 6: seventy five percent of it. Is Hollins is just a
- 1:07:31Speaker 6: better run blocker, and they need is run blocking to
- 1:07:34Speaker 6: get some of these runs going. But I also think
- 1:07:37Speaker 6: that teams are going to play zone against the Patriots.
- 1:07:40Speaker 6: I just don't know if if Pop Douglas is the
- 1:07:43Speaker 6: answer for that versus.
- 1:07:44Speaker 4: While we're talking about Douglas. What about Kyle Williams.
- 1:07:47Speaker 5: I know what you're doing over there. What did I do?
- 1:07:49Speaker 5: I let it go? What did I do? I let
- 1:07:51Speaker 5: it go?
- 1:07:51Speaker 6: What about Kyle willast put your thoughts on pot was
- 1:07:55Speaker 6: asking that's what it's time for a change.
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: No, I'm not having Katie for the CHI if that's
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: what you're implying.
- 1:08:02Speaker 6: I just don't know what chis solves. Like I understand
- 1:08:07Speaker 6: that people are disappointed production, but I just don't know,
- 1:08:11Speaker 6: Like chisshm skill set, I don't know if it's necessarily better.
- 1:08:15Speaker 5: And I would just say through two games, and it's
- 1:08:17Speaker 5: a small sample, it's only two games, they've really only
- 1:08:21Speaker 5: generally used three receivers that have been a part of
- 1:08:23Speaker 5: the plan. There's been two active receivers both weeks that
- 1:08:27Speaker 5: really were very bit, very much big players at most.
- 1:08:31Speaker 5: I mean Kyle Williams hasn't really been involved either week right,
- 1:08:34Speaker 5: And I would say Mac Collins wasn't really involved in
- 1:08:36Speaker 5: week one, and Douglas wasn't really involved in Week two.
- 1:08:39Speaker 5: They played some snacks, but they really weren't involved the
- 1:08:42Speaker 5: way it looked, wasn't really involved in this game. No
- 1:08:45Speaker 5: early had the touchdown. Yeah, it was, I mean great.
- 1:08:48Speaker 4: The way it started out, it looked like vintage Brady
- 1:08:51Speaker 4: game where everybody was going to get touches.
- 1:08:54Speaker 3: You know, they were distributing.
- 1:08:55Speaker 5: It all over. Had one, you know, one big play
- 1:08:57Speaker 5: to Hooper, one big play to Booty, a big four
- 1:08:59Speaker 5: thound digs don't touching the boat, the running backs were involved.
- 1:09:03Speaker 5: You had the wheel route down the sideline to Henderson.
- 1:09:05Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean, I guess my follow up to Evans
- 1:09:07Speaker 7: thing was just be if Drake continues to demonstrate high
- 1:09:11Speaker 7: efficiency hitting plays, hitting downfield plays, does that eventually forced
- 1:09:15Speaker 7: teams to get out of that a little bit and say,
- 1:09:17Speaker 7: you know, look, we're gonna have to man some of
- 1:09:18Speaker 7: these guys up. And I think it's force him to
- 1:09:20Speaker 7: make some throws.
- 1:09:22Speaker 6: The zone coverage to me, like the boots are the
- 1:09:25Speaker 6: kryptonite because when you change the boots get you have
- 1:09:28Speaker 6: eyes right like your eyes are in the backfield, so
- 1:09:31Speaker 6: then when you're booting like they have to be able
- 1:09:34Speaker 6: to react to the zone coverage. Like the zones it's
- 1:09:38Speaker 6: pulling the guys out of their areas of the zone.
- 1:09:40Speaker 6: Then you change the point of attack on them, so
- 1:09:42Speaker 6: that ability to boot I think is a big part
- 1:09:45Speaker 6: of attacking some of those you know, zone structures, and
- 1:09:48Speaker 6: then you can get the deep part of the field flooded.
- 1:09:51Speaker 6: Uh It just I just don't look at Pop Douglas
- 1:09:54Speaker 6: as the type of guy that is built for that
- 1:09:57Speaker 6: kind of offense. Like you look at like the receiver
- 1:10:00Speaker 6: is that the Packers and the Niners and the Rams,
- 1:10:02Speaker 6: like they're all like Pukin Nikua's They're all six one six',
- 1:10:06Speaker 6: two good, size, physical can run block. Like they're all
- 1:10:11Speaker 6: kind of that package of, receiver and he's just not.
- 1:10:14Speaker 6: That so like when they get into third down and
- 1:10:17Speaker 6: when they get into teams that play more man, Like
- 1:10:19Speaker 6: pittsburgh plays a lot more man, LIKE i think you'll
- 1:10:22Speaker 6: see More. Pop but until, THEN i don't know if you.
- 1:10:24Speaker 4: Will Uh ted And vegas says The. Patriots he has
- 1:10:27Speaker 4: a slight correction For. Paul The patriots went for two
- 1:10:31Speaker 4: points after the third touchdown only because they missed the
- 1:10:35Speaker 4: first two extra.
- 1:10:36Speaker 5: Points.
- 1:10:36Speaker 4: Correct if you give The patriots those first two extra,
- 1:10:39Speaker 4: points then you can only give them one.
- 1:10:41Speaker 5: Point that's WHY i said twenty four points instead of twenty,
- 1:10:44Speaker 5: three LIKE i. DID i, right they got one of
- 1:10:47Speaker 5: them back for the two point. Conversion, YEAH i would
- 1:10:51Speaker 5: say they wouldn't have gone for two had they made two.
- 1:10:53Speaker 5: Kicks that's WHY i said twenty, four, Right, DENNISON i
- 1:10:56Speaker 5: mean it's it's not really worth getting.
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: Into Its.
- 1:11:04Speaker 4: Travis And West virginia, says was that the first time
- 1:11:07Speaker 4: in the history of mankind that a coach ran down the?
- 1:11:10Speaker 4: Sideline or is everyone just over hyping?
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: It that's pretty. GOOD i think it was more of the.
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: Picture this is the.
- 1:11:15Speaker 4: Picture, yeah by the, way Was David silverman or one
- 1:11:20Speaker 4: of our team photographers.
- 1:11:22Speaker 5: That Like John harbaugh doesn't, matter or Say Mike, Tomlin Mike.
- 1:11:28Speaker 6: Tomlin would stick his Leg.
- 1:11:31Speaker 5: Campbell did, that AND i wonder how we would have.
- 1:11:33Speaker 7: Reacted it was funny that that coach THAT i know
- 1:11:36Speaker 7: that lives in, town he he sent me that picture
- 1:11:38Speaker 7: and he broke down Like rabels knee rays and, said
- 1:11:41Speaker 7: like he still got, it knock a little power in
- 1:11:43Speaker 7: his butt probably, now but that he's still got the
- 1:11:45Speaker 7: explode like he you, know broke all his like running
- 1:11:47Speaker 7: technique down for.
- 1:11:48Speaker 10: Me so.
- 1:11:52Speaker 3: Back back to the calls in a.
- 1:11:53Speaker 4: Second, daniel, though Says raiders game was an absurd amount
- 1:11:56Speaker 4: of blitzing And dolphins game seemed like zero, blitzing just
- 1:12:00Speaker 4: straight four man. RUSHES i haven't looked at any numbers
- 1:12:03Speaker 4: to back that, up but it seems like there needs
- 1:12:05Speaker 4: to be some kind of deception or disguise with these pass.
- 1:12:09Speaker 4: Rushes Lucky milton could just take over on a one on.
- 1:12:12Speaker 6: One they only blitzed TO a, once AND i would
- 1:12:15Speaker 6: not blitz to, It, LIKE i don't understand why you,
- 1:12:18Speaker 6: would like his release is so. Quick they have just
- 1:12:22Speaker 6: incredibly good, Playmakers LIKE i don't, know you're playing with
- 1:12:26Speaker 6: fire if you start blitzing a guy like TO. A
- 1:12:29Speaker 6: it's not WHAT i would. Advise SO i totally understand
- 1:12:32Speaker 6: why they didn't blitz them and they backed.
- 1:12:34Speaker 7: Off so that's what's kind of remarkable to me is
- 1:12:36Speaker 7: we didn't know what this defense was going to.
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: Be we asked these guys a lot about what their scheme.
- 1:12:40Speaker 7: Is we're used To Bill belichick and Jirob meo kind
- 1:12:42Speaker 7: of being game plan, defenses and you, know as we've,
- 1:12:46Speaker 7: seen you're starting to get some data for the sample
- 1:12:48Speaker 7: size to see exactly what these guys are going to.
- 1:12:51Speaker 7: Do AND i, mean the coverage was totally flipped from
- 1:12:55Speaker 7: week one to week two AND i think that this
- 1:12:57Speaker 7: team is going to be a little bit more game
- 1:12:59Speaker 7: planning then maybe we expect.
- 1:13:01Speaker 5: That, YEAH i figured they would be game planning because That's.
- 1:13:05Speaker 5: VRABEL i would think he would go to his roots
- 1:13:08Speaker 5: and what he's sort of comfortable. With BUT i understand
- 1:13:11Speaker 5: What evan's, saying AND i agree with, him, like you
- 1:13:13Speaker 5: don't want to make a, living you, know recklessly Blitzing.
- 1:13:18Speaker 5: Miami BUT i don't necessarily think it has to be
- 1:13:21Speaker 5: an all or nothing. THING i thought they let him
- 1:13:23Speaker 5: get too comfortable there and that portion of the, game
- 1:13:26Speaker 5: and Fortunately miami kept shooting itself in the foot in
- 1:13:28Speaker 5: the second. Half they would move the ball into scoring
- 1:13:31Speaker 5: position and get stupid, penalties and they got down inside the,
- 1:13:34Speaker 5: ten they got a call back for a, hold they
- 1:13:36Speaker 5: got to like one of those illegal shifts that everyone
- 1:13:38Speaker 5: always talks about with the guys going toward the line of,
- 1:13:41Speaker 5: scrimmage negated another. Play THOUGH i talked about the last
- 1:13:44Speaker 5: two drives where they got the back to back fall
- 1:13:46Speaker 5: start delay a, game you, know. Penalties, OTHERWISE i think
- 1:13:52Speaker 5: you would have been hard pressed to come up with.
- 1:13:53Speaker 5: STOPS i think you needed to do something different to
- 1:13:56Speaker 5: get him. Uncomfortable he went Throw when we talked About
- 1:13:59Speaker 5: drake may with were in completions, too only had Six,
- 1:14:02Speaker 5: WELL i mean.
- 1:14:03Speaker 6: Yeah they they threw him off with the coverage a
- 1:14:05Speaker 6: couple of times late in the. Game BUT i just
- 1:14:08Speaker 6: with his release and how fast they're playmakers are doing
- 1:14:12Speaker 6: a Lot like if you blitz him and he Hits
- 1:14:15Speaker 6: Waddler hill on the, move was, like.
- 1:14:17Speaker 5: What are you doing?
- 1:14:17Speaker 6: Right it's a seventy five yard touchdown real. Quick SO
- 1:14:21Speaker 6: i would you just got to be really careful with.
- 1:14:23Speaker 4: THAT i, mean despite what's going on In miami right,
- 1:14:25Speaker 4: now that offense has shown in the past to be
- 1:14:29Speaker 4: as explosive as any in THE nfl when they're, Right
- 1:14:33Speaker 4: so you have to be.
- 1:14:34Speaker 5: Careful you, KNOW i would not. Advocate i'm not arguing
- 1:14:37Speaker 5: With evan at. All Believe evan's. RIGHT i would not.
- 1:14:39Speaker 5: Advocate you, know sixty percent blitz rate On. TUA i
- 1:14:44Speaker 5: don't think you'd live to tell about.
- 1:14:45Speaker 3: That zach's In.
- 1:14:47Speaker 4: Utah, Hey, Zach, Hey, hello is that we're?
- 1:14:54Speaker 9: Doing?
- 1:14:55Speaker 14: OKAY i was just calling Because i'm excited for the
- 1:15:00Speaker 14: it's nineteen and one season to.
- 1:15:01Speaker 18: Have and ALSO i just want to have a.
- 1:15:05Speaker 14: Question why do you think we uh ran or ran
- 1:15:09Speaker 14: two passes during that like the second to last pride
- 1:15:14Speaker 14: we had instead of just running it three.
- 1:15:17Speaker 5: Times, YEAH i, mean it's the simple answer is they're
- 1:15:24Speaker 5: trying to get to end the. Game they're trying to
- 1:15:25Speaker 5: get a first down to end the, game and the
- 1:15:27Speaker 5: best way to get a first down in that situation
- 1:15:29Speaker 5: is to throw the. Ball AND i have no problem
- 1:15:32Speaker 5: whatsoever with the. DECISION i do, think you, know the
- 1:15:37Speaker 5: run on first down got them. Nothing so IT'S i
- 1:15:40Speaker 5: think it was second and eight when they when they
- 1:15:43Speaker 5: decided to throw. IT i do, Think and this is
- 1:15:46Speaker 5: WHAT i Asked mike about, yesterday is there a conversation
- 1:15:50Speaker 5: With joshua Or mike with With drake May you you're
- 1:15:54Speaker 5: obviously looking to have a little bit of a play
- 1:15:56Speaker 5: action and pop someone open real quick and, easy throw
- 1:15:59Speaker 5: a safe throw that you're expecting to catch The dolphins by.
- 1:16:04Speaker 5: Surprise it was kind of a similar kind of thing
- 1:16:09Speaker 5: as what we were talking about WITH. Matc, collins you,
- 1:16:11Speaker 5: know coming in and then you, know sort of breaking.
- 1:16:14Speaker 5: Out they had, NOTICED i Think vrabel said to me
- 1:16:16Speaker 5: yesterday that he noticed the corners were slamming down on
- 1:16:20Speaker 5: the run and they were hoping to get them in
- 1:16:22Speaker 5: that kind of a. Look Jack, jones to his, credit
- 1:16:26Speaker 5: played it a little bit, better may have gotten away
- 1:16:27Speaker 5: with a little tug and was in good, position so
- 1:16:32Speaker 5: there was no real window for him to complete the
- 1:16:34Speaker 5: pass rather than throw it out in front of him
- 1:16:38Speaker 5: for an incomplete. Pass i'm just wondering if maybe there's
- 1:16:40Speaker 5: a conversation. There don't throw it away either, run try
- 1:16:45Speaker 5: to make a play with your, legs or take a,
- 1:16:47Speaker 5: sack which is going to Force miami to use that
- 1:16:51Speaker 5: timeout that they ended up. Saving BUT i don't have
- 1:16:54Speaker 5: any problem with throwing the. Ball then they throw it
- 1:16:56Speaker 5: on third. Down now third and, eight you have to throw.
- 1:16:58Speaker 5: It so they threw it on third and. Eight another
- 1:17:02Speaker 5: safe pass picks up six yards fourth and. Two no
- 1:17:04Speaker 5: doubt in my mind they were going for, it. RIGHT i,
- 1:17:07Speaker 5: MEAN i don't think you guys think they were just
- 1:17:08Speaker 5: trying to draw them off side When Morgan moses committed
- 1:17:11Speaker 5: the false. Start so here's WHAT i want to ask you.
- 1:17:14Speaker 5: Guys so now it's fourth and, seven after the false,
- 1:17:17Speaker 5: start they chose to kick the fifty three yard field.
- 1:17:21Speaker 5: GOAL i would have gone for. IT i felt like
- 1:17:25Speaker 5: the risk reward, there the risk of him missing the
- 1:17:28Speaker 5: field goal was far greater to me than the reward
- 1:17:32Speaker 5: of him making the field, goal which didn't, really in my,
- 1:17:36Speaker 5: view impact the game all that. Much, now the touchdown beat. You,
- 1:17:41Speaker 5: now the other team's got four downs to get the.
- 1:17:44Speaker 5: Touchdown they're not playing for the field goal to tie.
- 1:17:47Speaker 5: It as it turned, out they went right down the.
- 1:17:51Speaker 5: Field time was not a factor at. All they had
- 1:17:52Speaker 5: plenty of. Time thank god he stepped out of, bound.
- 1:17:54Speaker 5: RIGHT i, understand and AS i said in the post game,
- 1:17:59Speaker 5: show understand that they got down or whatever it, was
- 1:18:02Speaker 5: the twenty six yard. LINE i think so in, retrospect
- 1:18:06Speaker 5: good thing you kicked the field, goal because they would
- 1:18:08Speaker 5: have kicked the field goal on fourth down and tied the. Game. Right,
- 1:18:13Speaker 5: HOWEVER i think that the risk of losing the game
- 1:18:15Speaker 5: was far greater by kicking the field, goal and if
- 1:18:21Speaker 5: it were, ME i would have gone for fourth and
- 1:18:22Speaker 5: seven to try to end the. Game right, there you
- 1:18:24Speaker 5: were too close to, punt, Right you're not really you're
- 1:18:27Speaker 5: not really gaining that much to. PUNT i don't think
- 1:18:31Speaker 5: it was a bad move to kick a field, goal
- 1:18:33Speaker 5: a fifty three yard field. Goal you need to be
- 1:18:35Speaker 5: able to attempt you can't, say, OH i can't do
- 1:18:37Speaker 5: this with my. Kicker you, know now we got a
- 1:18:40Speaker 5: we got a bigger. Issue BUT i don't know how you,
- 1:18:42Speaker 5: guys but would anybody have gone forward on fourth and? Seven, No,
- 1:18:45Speaker 5: No i'm the only ONE i.
- 1:18:46Speaker 6: Think kicking the field goal? There and he said said it.
- 1:18:50Speaker 6: YESTERDAY i mean there's a big difference between needing seven
- 1:18:53Speaker 6: there on the final drive and needing three to.
- 1:18:55Speaker 5: Three, YEAH i, know that's that's why.
- 1:18:59Speaker 3: Then giving them that field.
- 1:19:01Speaker 5: Position, no ultimately ended up giving them the field position,
- 1:19:03Speaker 5: ANYWAY i, know but that's Not mike's. Faltz that's not
- 1:19:06Speaker 5: part of that's not part of the. DECISION i just.
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: Feel like.
- 1:19:12Speaker 6: All you got to do is keep them out of
- 1:19:13Speaker 6: the end zone at that, point AND i think that
- 1:19:15Speaker 6: that that is much.
- 1:19:17Speaker 5: Easier don't think THAT'S i don't. Like, look the same
- 1:19:20Speaker 5: thing happened To tampa last. Night like they went right
- 1:19:22Speaker 5: down on all they had to do is keep them
- 1:19:24Speaker 5: out of the end, zone but they. Didn't of, course
- 1:19:26Speaker 5: your Guy Baker, bacon.

- 1:23:15Speaker 21: we always have.
- 1:23:16Speaker 10: Been but thank you for asking.
- 1:23:18Speaker 22: Everything go with the operation, defensively you And zach working together, Yesterday.
- 1:23:23Speaker 10: YEAH i mean.
- 1:23:24Speaker 21: GOOD i mean we didn't have any you, know when
- 1:23:27Speaker 21: we subbed and we got into our, calls and again
- 1:23:30Speaker 21: there's no talked about this.
- 1:23:32Speaker 10: Before the best call is a decisive.
- 1:23:34Speaker 21: One that the players know and believe in and that
- 1:23:36Speaker 21: they can they have confidence that they can execute their.
- 1:23:41Speaker 21: Job and so when we when we needed to get
- 1:23:44Speaker 21: the drive, stop we got the drive. Stopped you, know
- 1:23:48Speaker 21: had a plan to play these guys and then how
- 1:23:49Speaker 21: we wanted to play.
- 1:23:50Speaker 23: Them some of the situational coaching calls love to just
- 1:23:57Speaker 23: get your mindset on the fourth quarter turned To andy
- 1:24:00Speaker 23: for that fifty three yard was after the false.
- 1:24:03Speaker 10: STUFF i was.
- 1:24:05Speaker 23: Thinking when it, happened like a field goal or.
- 1:24:07Speaker 7: Goal for, It but THEN i was thinking with a
- 1:24:10Speaker 7: punt even a consideration?
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: There what was a tough? Process.
- 1:24:13Speaker 21: OH i think maybe had the game been, down.
- 1:24:22Speaker 10: The time would have been.
- 1:24:23Speaker 21: LESS i think maybe you could could have discussed a
- 1:24:26Speaker 21: punt in that. Situation but with as much, time you,
- 1:24:31Speaker 21: KNOW i don't know if putting them on the fifteen yard,
- 1:24:33Speaker 21: lines you, know twelve yard line is going to really
- 1:24:35Speaker 21: matter for those guys that just felt like either we
- 1:24:38Speaker 21: were going to win it or we were going to
- 1:24:39Speaker 21: force them to to have to score a touchdown and
- 1:24:43Speaker 21: really big kick in a really big, moment you, know making,
- 1:24:47Speaker 21: them THEN i have to. SCORE a touchdown is a
- 1:24:50Speaker 21: heck of a lot different than a field. GOAL i
- 1:24:53Speaker 21: think you guys can, see we all see around the,
- 1:24:54Speaker 21: league the impact that the kickers have at the end
- 1:24:59Speaker 21: of the.
- 1:24:59Speaker 10: Game the.
- 1:25:00Speaker 21: Distance you, know you really don't have much to. Defend,
- 1:25:04Speaker 21: nowadays it used to, be you, know it's thirty, two
- 1:25:08Speaker 21: thirty five yard. Line now it's you, know some of
- 1:25:11Speaker 21: these cross midfield are close to.
- 1:25:13Speaker 22: It just kind of on loop along the same, lines
- 1:25:17Speaker 22: like because we're kind of getting a feel for how
- 1:25:18Speaker 22: you go through.
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: Some of these decisions starting the.
- 1:25:21Speaker 22: Game it doesn't feel like it's black or white for,
- 1:25:23Speaker 22: you like aggressive versus not, aggressive like you go for
- 1:25:28Speaker 22: the fourth down. EARLY i was wondering fourth and four
- 1:25:33Speaker 22: late in the second quarter to think at all about.
- 1:25:36Speaker 10: It and going. ON i just wanted to get some points.
- 1:25:38Speaker 21: There just felt like points was was important there and
- 1:25:42Speaker 21: coming away with.
- 1:25:43Speaker 10: That had it been, closer, probably but you, KNOW i
- 1:25:48Speaker 10: think it was it was.
- 1:25:48Speaker 21: TWOFOLD i felt, like you, know let's Get andy one
- 1:25:51Speaker 21: through and through and again get him jump, started knowing
- 1:25:54Speaker 21: that we're going to need, him uh in this. Game but,
- 1:25:57Speaker 21: also you, know fourth and four on the four gets
- 1:26:00Speaker 21: to be a little, dicey you. KNOW i mean it's
- 1:26:02Speaker 21: not really a fifty to fifty proposition, There so.
- 1:26:07Speaker 10: Love the execution on a two point.
- 1:26:09Speaker 21: Conversion love the you, know wanted to be decisive and,
- 1:26:12Speaker 21: aggressive AND i felt like we were early. On you
- 1:26:16Speaker 21: could see how we played in short yardage, situationally you
- 1:26:19Speaker 21: could see the ball coming out on fourth and three And,
- 1:26:23Speaker 21: digsie you, know being able to snap, down get it
- 1:26:27Speaker 21: whatever the situation called. For so there's a lot of
- 1:26:30Speaker 21: really good examples of us doing.
- 1:26:32Speaker 24: That Coach, Hunter henry is outfit all the, time as
- 1:26:37Speaker 24: he did For Its edge with the.
- 1:26:39Speaker 10: Franchise just what does he mat to this? TEAM i
- 1:26:41Speaker 10: over talked.
- 1:26:42Speaker 13: A lot about, him but to do that in.
- 1:26:45Speaker 12: A short amount of time here for the most, part
- 1:26:47Speaker 12: check to chuck.
- 1:26:48Speaker 10: Out. Well Think hunter just, reliable is.
- 1:26:51Speaker 21: Consistent you can always any adjustments or tweaks that you
- 1:26:56Speaker 21: may have with a game plan or a, Scheme he's
- 1:26:59Speaker 21: able to. HANDLE i think you see those things and
- 1:27:02Speaker 21: that's WHAT i appreciate it about him as his ability
- 1:27:05Speaker 21: to not only be, productive but also adjust to things
- 1:27:10Speaker 21: as you make changes or hey this is what we
- 1:27:12Speaker 21: need or this is the and the coverage and you,
- 1:27:15Speaker 21: KNOW i Thought drake might have had.
- 1:27:17Speaker 10: Him you, know the ball was tipped down there in
- 1:27:18Speaker 10: the end zone or down to the red.
- 1:27:19Speaker 21: Zone so again he provides leadership and there's a very
- 1:27:23Speaker 21: consistent presence to.
- 1:27:25Speaker 17: Him, Right you've had tackling issues the first two couple of,
- 1:27:30Speaker 17: games and those physical mental are both.
- 1:27:36Speaker 21: WELL i don't think we tackled terribly u in the
- 1:27:41Speaker 21: in the first. Week yesterday was it was a tough, task,
- 1:27:44Speaker 21: Right we we missed far too many. Tackles so debate
- 1:27:48Speaker 21: whether we tackled well the first week or.
- 1:27:50Speaker 10: Not it IS.
- 1:27:56Speaker 21: I, mean it's it's always you, know PHYSICAL i think
- 1:27:59Speaker 21: mentally it puts you in a right, position put you
- 1:28:01Speaker 21: in the right frame of mind of what what we're
- 1:28:03Speaker 21: asking out of each?
- 1:28:04Speaker 10: Tackle? Right and where are? You are you in space
- 1:28:06Speaker 10: and we need to come to.
- 1:28:07Speaker 21: Balance are we in close quarters where you know we
- 1:28:10Speaker 21: can run through somebody and run our feet on contact.
- 1:28:14Speaker 10: And be able to to. Wrap are we using the? Sidelines?
- 1:28:19Speaker 21: RIGHT a lot of things that we want to avoid
- 1:28:21Speaker 21: and make sure that we practice and continue to. PRACTICE
- 1:28:24Speaker 21: i mean we have we well need to do more
- 1:28:27Speaker 21: of it this. Week and they put you into a space.
- 1:28:31Speaker 21: GAME a team Like miami puts you into a space,
- 1:28:33Speaker 21: game and you know they don't have any you, know
- 1:28:36Speaker 21: there's no shortage of skilled players that are good with
- 1:28:40Speaker 21: the ball in their. Hands so we'll have to be
- 1:28:42Speaker 21: better and be able to use the right technique and
- 1:28:46Speaker 21: the right, mentality and then also having you, know everybody
- 1:28:50Speaker 21: else coming full tilt to the tackle to again sometimes
- 1:28:54Speaker 21: make up and a tone for for some of those misses.
- 1:28:59Speaker 5: And now great moments in.
- 1:29:03Speaker 3: History, PAUL i have something to take up with you.
- 1:29:06Speaker 4: Though You you just came out with your all time
- 1:29:09Speaker 4: numberless for The, patriots AND i think fun, list it's all.
- 1:29:14Speaker 3: In, FUN i know.
- 1:29:15Speaker 4: That but you've got the number, one and you've Got
- 1:29:19Speaker 4: Cam newton as the person who wore it, best and
- 1:29:22Speaker 4: like he hasn't even already, yet how.
- 1:29:25Speaker 5: Can you put you already want it? BEST i, mean
- 1:29:27Speaker 5: Put tony anybody else wearing?
- 1:29:29Speaker 9: It what he?
- 1:29:31Speaker 5: Is he's already wont it? Best David silverman shot of
- 1:29:34Speaker 5: him wearing the number? One anybody?
- 1:29:37Speaker 4: Else there should have been a rule that you have
- 1:29:39Speaker 4: to have appeared in at least one game to be
- 1:29:41Speaker 4: able to be on your.
- 1:29:42Speaker 5: List do you have any sense of? Humor at. All,
- 1:29:45Speaker 5: FRED i, mean it's just come, on come, on come,
- 1:29:49Speaker 5: on what About Tony?
- 1:29:51Speaker 4: Frankly Maybe Denis stubblefield should be in there, somewhere you.
- 1:29:55Speaker 5: Know my? Favorite he was, RIGHT i was he ninety?
- 1:30:01Speaker 3: TWO i don't.
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: Know that's another great moment from.
- 1:30:06Speaker 8: All.
- 1:30:07Speaker 5: Right you KNOW i wanted to get To Mike ye
- 1:30:09Speaker 5: who was forty.
- 1:30:10Speaker 1: THREE i don't. KNOW i don't know WHAT i. Had
- 1:30:11Speaker 1: don't know WHAT i had in. THERE i don't know
- 1:30:13Speaker 1: who you came up with that might have been. It
- 1:30:14Speaker 1: MAYBE i don't. KNOW i hadn't heard of the.
- 1:30:16Speaker 7: Person by the, Way, uh another number one got traded
- 1:30:19Speaker 7: over the last week or.
- 1:30:21Speaker 1: So we don't think we everyone talked about. It did
- 1:30:23Speaker 1: it really?
- 1:30:24Speaker 7: Happened we don't need to talk about. It and it
- 1:30:26Speaker 7: wasn't like a PLAYER i had a lot invested in
- 1:30:27Speaker 7: or anything injured. Reserve, WELL i just quick question for
- 1:30:31Speaker 7: the group. THOUGH i Asked paul, this how often do
- 1:30:34Speaker 7: you see a player ON iar get? TRADED i DON'T
- 1:30:36Speaker 7: i don't remember ever seeing.
- 1:30:37Speaker 6: That, yeah it's actually. Wasn't it wasn't allowed for a
- 1:30:41Speaker 6: period of. Time so that.
- 1:30:43Speaker 4: Let's that tell you Ev and how often does the
- 1:30:46Speaker 4: second round pick get traded for a seventh.
- 1:30:49Speaker 1: Day three with the seventh twenty twenty. Seven, yeah a
- 1:30:52Speaker 1: day three picks one two years from.
- 1:30:54Speaker 4: Now yeah not, Great, Bob, Yeah geene And, Ottawa canada
- 1:30:59Speaker 4: says it feels like this is the pick On paul.
- 1:31:01Speaker 3: Show paul is the most genuine guy.
- 1:31:04Speaker 5: Around we love.
- 1:31:05Speaker 4: You don't let these wannabes drag you. Down And fred
- 1:31:08Speaker 4: please bring back three points By parlos film those in
- 1:31:14Speaker 4: the stands sometimes.
- 1:31:15Speaker 5: THREE i had all kinds of see you you. Two
- 1:31:18Speaker 5: you don't, know you know, someday Someday i'll tell you
- 1:31:21Speaker 5: how IMPORTANT i used to be back in the early
- 1:31:24Speaker 5: video days of The.
- 1:31:24Speaker 1: Internet it's like in the at Old Foxborough. Stadium you
- 1:31:27Speaker 1: were on the benches started it.
- 1:31:29Speaker 6: Started did you sit on the benches in the old
- 1:31:31Speaker 6: started with five?
- 1:31:32Speaker 5: Points real money. Points budget cuts me to.
- 1:31:35Speaker 1: Three now you just get one point if you're.
- 1:31:37Speaker 5: Lucky now we don't make any. Points back to the.
- 1:31:40Speaker 4: Phones eight five, five pass five. Hundred let's go To
- 1:31:43Speaker 4: eldred In North. Carolina, Hey, eldred blow the.
- 1:31:48Speaker 8: Horn But i'm standing in the docks and everybody.
- 1:31:50Speaker 5: Look at me Like i'm.
- 1:31:51Speaker 4: Great, yeah don't don't we don't want you to do.
- 1:31:53Speaker 4: That you're crazy anyway.
- 1:31:57Speaker 2: Around, yeah good to, win even though it looks looks
- 1:32:03Speaker 2: WELL i supposed to look. ANYWAY i think everybody come.
- 1:32:06Speaker 8: Together my question is the. SECONDARY i know we got
- 1:32:11Speaker 8: rid OF Dj.
- 1:32:11Speaker 13: James any possibility to try to get somebody.
- 1:32:15Speaker 8: Else back often got beat like a.
- 1:32:17Speaker 4: Drune, WELL i think, if, if and When gonzo comes,
- 1:32:21Speaker 4: back that's going to Help.
- 1:32:22Speaker 3: AUSTIN i, mean let's face, it, right everything trickle.
- 1:32:26Speaker 5: Slats everybody down on that. Notch but you, know this
- 1:32:28Speaker 5: is one of, them a rarity where we kind of
- 1:32:31Speaker 5: talked back To wummer and you, know we talked about
- 1:32:34Speaker 5: the lack of, depth, right and we would use individual
- 1:32:38Speaker 5: guys like you, know if they were to, lose Like
- 1:32:40Speaker 5: gonzo Or Carlton, davis that would make an. Impact that
- 1:32:42Speaker 5: would be and we've seen. It one guy has really you,
- 1:32:48Speaker 5: know hurt the.
- 1:32:48Speaker 6: Secondary, YEAH i thought That gonzo is frankly costing himself
- 1:32:53Speaker 6: money by not playing because durability has been the only.
- 1:32:57Speaker 6: Question now you come full.
- 1:32:58Speaker 4: Circle, NOW i think it might.
- 1:32:59Speaker 6: Be the thing because, yeah he might legitimately be proving
- 1:33:05Speaker 6: that he's like a Defensive player of The year candidate
- 1:33:07Speaker 6: like he comes.
- 1:33:08Speaker 5: Back and they hasn't played. One the defense just.
- 1:33:11Speaker 6: Goes from like not being able to stop a single
- 1:33:14Speaker 6: pass to being a very good pass defense. Overnight Because
- 1:33:18Speaker 6: gonzo comes back and all of a, sudden you're going
- 1:33:20Speaker 6: to be, saying, well this guy is one of the
- 1:33:22Speaker 6: most valuable defensive players in THE.
- 1:33:24Speaker 5: Nfl it'll be funny if it's like If, gonzo if
- 1:33:28Speaker 5: this would be like a like A Bill belichick, thing
- 1:33:30Speaker 5: Like gonzo will come back against Like Bryce young and
- 1:33:33Speaker 5: The panthers who are obviously, struggling you, know against, everybody
- 1:33:37Speaker 5: and oh even he locked it, down you, know shut
- 1:33:41Speaker 5: down zaviol. Again let's go take.
- 1:33:44Speaker 6: Accent he's gonna brag, actually because his receivers are going.
- 1:33:50Speaker 6: Nuts Quinton johnson last.
- 1:33:52Speaker 5: Night with the big.
- 1:33:52Speaker 6: Touchdown dante king k is coming to town this. Week
- 1:33:55Speaker 6: Dante thornton looks great with The. Raiders caught a touchdown.
- 1:33:59Speaker 6: Guy his guys are popping, Off.
- 1:34:02Speaker 5: Taye Kwand thornton looks quasi functional. Functional, yeah, yeah like
- 1:34:10Speaker 5: they're able.
- 1:34:11Speaker 4: To use his.
- 1:34:11Speaker 6: Talents philip dor, said why weren't they able to use
- 1:34:15Speaker 6: his talents?
- 1:34:16Speaker 5: Here oh you tell. ME i don't have the answer to.
- 1:34:19Speaker 5: That Pa. Shooter, Well paul three. Touchdowns let's go To
- 1:34:25Speaker 5: sean And.
- 1:34:25Speaker 4: Virginia what's Up Sean.
- 1:34:27Speaker 5: Kyle he actually didn't play that coach is pretty.
- 1:34:30Speaker 12: Good can you got hear?
- 1:34:32Speaker 1: Me?
- 1:34:32Speaker 10: Yeah, okay?
- 1:34:34Speaker 12: Cool. Yeah they don't want to touch on too as.
- 1:34:37Speaker 12: Well when it comes to the, DEFENSE i found it
- 1:34:39Speaker 12: funny that most people make excuses about one man miss
- 1:34:42Speaker 12: is from the, defense which Is, gonzald which is very,
- 1:34:44Speaker 12: SIGNIFICANT i, understand but there are other teams across the
- 1:34:47Speaker 12: league THAT i thought that miss you, know, uh three
- 1:34:50Speaker 12: or four thirds he, there and they're still able to
- 1:34:52Speaker 12: reform pretty. WELL i mean The buck four are problems
- 1:34:54Speaker 12: there for all that miss like four starts last night
- 1:34:56Speaker 12: and the defense still playing played pretty, well SO i
- 1:34:58Speaker 12: mean they also you're talking about THE i, mean did
- 1:35:01Speaker 12: you see The chargers last? NIGHT i LIKE i, said
- 1:35:03Speaker 12: like THEY i can play about what The pacers. Is,
- 1:35:06Speaker 12: yeah they lead the league in, sex but they get
- 1:35:08Speaker 12: close to the quarterback like like the prop leaty trying
- 1:35:11Speaker 12: to take a, picture but they won't really touch the
- 1:35:14Speaker 12: quarter but they don't really give it out of the brown
- 1:35:15Speaker 12: or move the. Spot and then on the other, HAND
- 1:35:18Speaker 12: i think he used to Play kyle Wins moore because
- 1:35:20Speaker 12: if you look at that play With, Hooper hooper was
- 1:35:22Speaker 12: open like that Because ky went totally cleared out the
- 1:35:25Speaker 12: safety in the. Corner they followed. Him SO i think
- 1:35:27Speaker 12: used to be on the field. More that's my.
- 1:35:30Speaker 4: Take, okay, Yeah Kyle williams on the field.
- 1:35:33Speaker 6: MORE i Think Kyle williams is doing his. Job Like
- 1:35:35Speaker 6: Kyle williams cleared out coverage a handful of times in this.
- 1:35:39Speaker 6: Game he's, right The hooper players was him on the
- 1:35:41Speaker 6: post to clear out the sideline For. HOOPER i think
- 1:35:45Speaker 6: what we're seeing and the rookie lineman, notwithstanding because those,
- 1:35:48Speaker 6: guys we were pretty good at both of them in this.
- 1:35:52Speaker 6: Game but like everyone's clamoring to see More Travon. Henderson
- 1:35:55Speaker 6: then he gets out in the, game they play him
- 1:35:58Speaker 6: and he gives up two sacks and gets called for
- 1:36:00Speaker 6: a hold in past. Protection now everybody's clamoring for Where
- 1:36:03Speaker 6: Kyle williams like their, rookies, like let let's let them ease,
- 1:36:08Speaker 6: In let's let, them you, know, Learn let's let them
- 1:36:11Speaker 6: get coached. Up Like i'm not saying don't play, them
- 1:36:13Speaker 6: BUT i it's just do you want to rush them
- 1:36:17Speaker 6: into things a little bit too. QUICKLY i think sometimes.
- 1:36:19Speaker 4: Everybody wants to open all Their christmas presents all at,
- 1:36:22Speaker 4: once and sometimes you have to wait a little.
- 1:36:24Speaker 1: Bit, right we usually wait for breakfast and for.
- 1:36:27Speaker 7: Stockings, curiously on the, penalties did you guys get a
- 1:36:30Speaker 7: sense in the stadium did it feel like the rest
- 1:36:32Speaker 7: were calling a little bit ticky tak with some of that?
- 1:36:34Speaker 5: Stuff they?
- 1:36:35Speaker 4: Were AND i guess THIS refu was an umpire last,
- 1:36:41Speaker 4: year first, time first time as a, ref and they
- 1:36:44Speaker 4: thought he might have been trying to prove himself a little.
- 1:36:47Speaker 1: Bit, OKAY i don't.
- 1:36:48Speaker 5: KNOW i didn't see.
- 1:36:49Speaker 1: It there wasn't a lot THAT i saw.
- 1:36:50Speaker 4: That oh that's a bad carrable kind of alluded to
- 1:36:53Speaker 4: it a little.
- 1:36:53Speaker 5: Bit he said That Will campbell didn't move on that
- 1:36:56Speaker 5: false start he. Did, WELL i don't.
- 1:36:58Speaker 4: KNOW i just heard him say that this ref may
- 1:37:01Speaker 4: have wanted some calls.
- 1:37:02Speaker 5: Back so, well maybe that could be. True but SO
- 1:37:07Speaker 5: i heard a lot of that like with the, crew you,
- 1:37:10Speaker 5: know me with the, REFS i, HATE i hate them,
- 1:37:13Speaker 5: all but hate if it's a new. Ref, Right so
- 1:37:19Speaker 5: he was an uppire last. Year he might have wanted
- 1:37:21Speaker 5: to be like he doesn't make every call, Right like
- 1:37:24Speaker 5: there were a lot of penalties in the. Game is
- 1:37:25Speaker 5: it all because it was the first time? Ref did
- 1:37:28Speaker 5: he tell, Everybody, hey this is my second game ever
- 1:37:30Speaker 5: as a. REEF i want you guys thrown a lot of.
- 1:37:32Speaker 5: FLAG i. DON'T i don't know if.
- 1:37:34Speaker 1: It was like a new crew around him maybe in
- 1:37:36Speaker 1: that and you.
- 1:37:36Speaker 8: Know how that.
- 1:37:37Speaker 6: MANIFESTS i think the one thing That i've just noticed
- 1:37:41Speaker 6: that some of the, calls like it's so, borderline like
- 1:37:48Speaker 6: we're right on the, edge and it's, like is this
- 1:37:51Speaker 6: really making these games more? Enjoyable like it's at the
- 1:37:54Speaker 6: end of the, day good, day it's an entertainment, product,
- 1:37:57Speaker 6: Right like we're all watching it to be all these
- 1:38:00Speaker 6: flags for like these illegal motions and the shifts.
- 1:38:04Speaker 1: And the confused on like he looked, like, well.
- 1:38:08Speaker 6: You, Know Hunter henry like kind of just repositioned himself
- 1:38:12Speaker 6: and they called that that he was in.
- 1:38:13Speaker 5: Motion, YEAH i DON'T i didn't understand that. CALL i
- 1:38:16Speaker 5: didn't like the one it was It Malik washington For
- 1:38:20Speaker 5: miami is just like running in maybe by the letter
- 1:38:23Speaker 5: of the. Law they was like slightly turned his shoulders
- 1:38:27Speaker 5: side to turn up. Field the play goes the other.
- 1:38:29Speaker 5: Way LIKE i like last night in That Houston tampa,
- 1:38:34Speaker 5: Game houston comes up with a big punt return at
- 1:38:37Speaker 5: the end which set up there go ahead. Touchdown and
- 1:38:40Speaker 5: there were, yeah and there were a couple of you,
- 1:38:44Speaker 5: know there was one in particular that could have been
- 1:38:46Speaker 5: one of those tiki tak blocking the, backs but like
- 1:38:49Speaker 5: they were on the side of caution on those and
- 1:38:51Speaker 5: let them let the players make some, plays you, Know
- 1:38:55Speaker 5: AND i DON'T i don't. Think i'm not suggesting you
- 1:38:58Speaker 5: should let a blatant block in the back. Go that's
- 1:39:00Speaker 5: springs the because it's more exciting to have a big.
- 1:39:02Speaker 5: Return BUT i didn't think it was a block in the.
- 1:39:05Speaker 5: Back and they kind they threw the, flag they talked about,
- 1:39:08Speaker 5: it and they picked it. Up i'm more talking about.
- 1:39:10Speaker 6: The pre snap, stuff like all these procedural penalties where
- 1:39:13Speaker 6: it's like an alignment issue or you, know a motion
- 1:39:17Speaker 6: issue or. Whatever and then you chaseam was called for
- 1:39:21Speaker 6: two off sides on, this and you.
- 1:39:23Speaker 5: Know they that's one That mike talked. About the coach's.
- 1:39:25Speaker 6: Tape is hard to tell because it's not right down the,
- 1:39:28Speaker 6: line but the line of scrimmage was the thirty and
- 1:39:32Speaker 6: his hand is not over the Third like he's just
- 1:39:35Speaker 6: not lined up in the neutral?
- 1:39:37Speaker 5: Zone does bug me? Too if the guy doesn't jump
- 1:39:39Speaker 5: unless he's blatantly on the other side of the, line
- 1:39:42Speaker 5: can we give a little? Leeway that's What mike talked
- 1:39:44Speaker 5: about that if he, was.
- 1:39:45Speaker 6: It was an, inch you, know like and then that
- 1:39:48Speaker 6: wipes out an interception that you know would have been
- 1:39:52Speaker 6: a huge.
- 1:39:52Speaker 5: Play because that was offsetting, penalties, Right so like it JUST.
- 1:39:57Speaker 6: I stared at that for like a good five, minute
- 1:40:00Speaker 6: AND i was, like they call this a neutral zone,
- 1:40:03Speaker 6: Infraction like he's the finest scrimmage is the. Thirties i'll give.
- 1:40:06Speaker 5: You one that happened in The sunday night. Game you
- 1:40:08Speaker 5: talk about these different things the way they're calling. Them
- 1:40:11Speaker 5: The Atlanta minnesota, game guy From minnesota just. JUMPS i
- 1:40:17Speaker 5: think it Was hunter just jumps the snapcount he was blatantly.
- 1:40:20Speaker 5: Offside well they let the play. Run the left tackle
- 1:40:25Speaker 5: For atlanta kind of reached out and grabbed his, arm
- 1:40:29Speaker 5: offsetting penalties offside in a. Hold, well the hole doesn't,
- 1:40:34Speaker 5: happen but they was going to kill the quarterback like
- 1:40:37Speaker 5: that's supposed to. Be like that whole unabated to the
- 1:40:39Speaker 5: quarterback thing, like AND i know that you want to
- 1:40:41Speaker 5: let the play go because it's a free, play but
- 1:40:43Speaker 5: you got to let the holds. Go in that, situation
- 1:40:47Speaker 5: he literally Saved Michael pennix from a big hit by
- 1:40:51Speaker 5: just sort of nudging him out of the way the last.
- 1:40:54Speaker 5: SECOND i don't think that should be offsetting. PENALTIES i don't.
- 1:40:57Speaker 4: Know All christians IN.
- 1:40:58Speaker 5: La what do you?
- 1:40:59Speaker 9: Think hey you, Guys Happy tuesday to you.
- 1:41:04Speaker 2: Again great, win three quick, Things, PAUL i think he
- 1:41:07Speaker 2: misunderstood me the other day WHEN i, asked does the
- 1:41:10Speaker 2: kind of wind matter when you're trying to get the
- 1:41:12Speaker 2: monkey off your back with a team that you haven't
- 1:41:15Speaker 2: been able to beat for a long. Time do you
- 1:41:17Speaker 2: need to beat them convincingly or is just any kind of?
- 1:41:21Speaker 13: Win you, know.
- 1:41:23Speaker 2: Does that get the monkey off your? Back that's that's one.
- 1:41:25Speaker 3: Question, no when's a.
- 1:41:26Speaker 5: Win that's HOW i understood. It AND i, said, no
- 1:41:29Speaker 5: it doesn't. Matter you needed to go down there and
- 1:41:31Speaker 5: win whatever way you. Could i'm With, Fred, yeah.
- 1:41:35Speaker 2: Okay well you, know in my humble, opinion it feels
- 1:41:38Speaker 2: like that kind of gets you. Passed but to actually
- 1:41:41Speaker 2: get the monkey off your back to feel like we're
- 1:41:43Speaker 2: over the hump with this. Team it feel like you
- 1:41:45Speaker 2: need to beat them at least.
- 1:41:46Speaker 5: Once, well you're, wrong But i'm not really concerned about
- 1:41:49Speaker 5: the next TIME i go To miami right right, Now
- 1:41:52Speaker 5: i'm only concerned with the team right, Now.
- 1:41:54Speaker 3: Paul AND i, disagree you're.
- 1:41:55Speaker 5: Wrong, YEAH i.
- 1:41:57Speaker 12: Get, you guys are. Right i'm agreed to who's.
- 1:42:00Speaker 3: Rawn that's.
- 1:42:01Speaker 2: Right, second, really the second, thing really quickly is it
- 1:42:06Speaker 2: really did feel like we had a team cohesion. Moment
- 1:42:09Speaker 2: LIKE i know if you guys watched The canelo Versus crawford,
- 1:42:11Speaker 2: fight but every Time canelo Hit, Crawford crawford would hit
- 1:42:15Speaker 2: him back. Twice and that's what it felt like with this,
- 1:42:18Speaker 2: team AND i haven't seen that in a long time
- 1:42:20Speaker 2: from this from this. Team it really felt like they
- 1:42:25Speaker 2: started to believe in. Themselves and the last POINT i
- 1:42:28Speaker 2: make is WHAT i think most. Happened the most significant
- 1:42:31Speaker 2: THING i been happened this week for the team was
- 1:42:34Speaker 2: that they begin to buy Into vrabel and his way
- 1:42:36Speaker 2: of doing. Things like off season for, months record all
- 1:42:39Speaker 2: that kind of stuff, matters but when it comes to the,
- 1:42:42Speaker 2: season until you put the wins in the, column you
- 1:42:44Speaker 2: don't know if you've got the locker room, yet you
- 1:42:46Speaker 2: don't know if guys are buying in, Yet and it
- 1:42:48Speaker 2: seemed like that kind of win can really get guys
- 1:42:51Speaker 2: to buy.
- 1:42:51Speaker 1: In, yeah it can.
- 1:42:53Speaker 4: Help thanks for the. Call it can, help but you
- 1:42:56Speaker 4: need you need. More it can turn, Quickly, yeah you
- 1:42:59Speaker 4: can turn. QUICKLY i totally agree with.
- 1:43:02Speaker 5: The mindset and the confidence that gets built and all that,
- 1:43:05Speaker 5: stuff but they're gonna need To, YEAH i think about.
- 1:43:07Speaker 6: IT i think the thing that makes you so encouraged,
- 1:43:09Speaker 6: though from that standpoint is you see week to week. Improvement.
- 1:43:13Speaker 6: Yeah like AND i don't think we always saw that
- 1:43:15Speaker 6: over the last couple of. Years but if you're a
- 1:43:17Speaker 6: player and you can tell Like i'm getting, Better like
- 1:43:20Speaker 6: they're coaching me hard and they're giving me good, corrections
- 1:43:24Speaker 6: AND i can understand the coaching and you, know understand
- 1:43:27Speaker 6: what they're asking me to. Do and then each, week
- 1:43:29Speaker 6: Like Jared wilson like goes from five pressures allowed in
- 1:43:32Speaker 6: week one to zero yesterday Or, Sunday, like that's that's, improvement.
- 1:43:36Speaker 3: Right you know what we need? Now a home? Win,
- 1:43:40Speaker 3: oh we need a home.
- 1:43:41Speaker 7: Win about a home win in some Throwback jersey, yeah
- 1:43:43Speaker 7: let's get a home.
- 1:43:44Speaker 6: Win, well they're Facing Aaron rodgers who can still sling,
- 1:43:48Speaker 6: it but like he's like immobile at this.
- 1:43:51Speaker 5: Point you should be able to rack up. MOST i,
- 1:43:53Speaker 5: mean you have nine sacks leading the. League that number
- 1:43:56Speaker 5: should Should it was.
- 1:43:58Speaker 6: Pretty crazive how his arm has not the client at,
- 1:44:00Speaker 6: All like he can still you can still, throw but he.
- 1:44:02Speaker 6: CAN'T i don't, KNOW i can't move or it just
- 1:44:05Speaker 6: refuses to and it like sees, ghosts like afraid of.
- 1:44:08Speaker 6: Pressure it's pressure to sacrates very very.
- 1:44:12Speaker 1: High he blits. Them he try to get four.
- 1:44:17Speaker 6: Man coverage has been like the. Kryptonite but if they
- 1:44:20Speaker 6: don't Have, GONZO i don't know if you're.
- 1:44:21Speaker 5: Playing that was The STEELERS o.
- 1:44:23Speaker 3: Line they've been.
- 1:44:24Speaker 5: Bad, david it's PRETTY i think it's pretty. GOOD i
- 1:44:28Speaker 5: think It's. Rogers, yeah he's you just someone just had
- 1:44:31Speaker 5: the sack to the pressure to. Sack, yeah it means
- 1:44:35Speaker 5: every time that they get, pressure he just goes. Down,
- 1:44:37Speaker 5: yeah so he's, uh he's been.
- 1:44:38Speaker 6: Sacked his pressure to sacrate is over thirty percent to
- 1:44:42Speaker 6: fifth highest in the. League and typically when you see
- 1:44:44Speaker 6: really high pressure to sack rates like, that it's either
- 1:44:47Speaker 6: like a statue, quarterback or it's a young quarterback that
- 1:44:49Speaker 6: just is running around and doing dumb. Stuff rogers just
- 1:44:53Speaker 6: he had a third down play last week where he
- 1:44:56Speaker 6: tried to take off and run for the first.
- 1:44:57Speaker 5: Down he got.
- 1:44:59Speaker 6: Tag, yeah he got killed like he was like four
- 1:45:01Speaker 6: or five yard shore and he just doesn't have his
- 1:45:04Speaker 6: legs are just.
- 1:45:04Speaker 3: Gone let's get a home.
- 1:45:05Speaker 4: Win let's go To lucas And. May what's Up, Lucas?
- 1:45:10Speaker 8: Lucas, Hey, YEAH i have a couple of.
- 1:45:11Speaker 25: Questions one For, eden how does you feel About Marte
- 1:45:16Speaker 25: maphu as more of a coverage linebacker where he has
- 1:45:18Speaker 25: a safety. Background that's really interested in seeing him in that?
- 1:45:21Speaker 25: Position and one more, question why didn't you see more
- 1:45:25Speaker 25: Of Stefan. DIGGS i haven't watched the tape, over BUT
- 1:45:30Speaker 25: i just didn't see a lot of him out of this,
- 1:45:31Speaker 25: game AND i was aspecting just a little bit. More,
- 1:45:33Speaker 25: Yeah i'll hang up and.
- 1:45:33Speaker 4: Listen, okay Thanks mapu And.
- 1:45:35Speaker 6: Diggs, Yeah, MAPOO i mean the interception was thrown right to,
- 1:45:39Speaker 6: him So i'm not gonna give him too much credit
- 1:45:42Speaker 6: for literally having the ball thrown right to, him but you,
- 1:45:45Speaker 6: know caught the ball right, right like. That that's the
- 1:45:49Speaker 6: part of. It he didn't play it on on defense
- 1:45:51Speaker 6: in this. GAME i know you Know ellis had specific.
- 1:45:54Speaker 4: Question is what do you think of him as a coverage. Linebacker,
- 1:45:56Speaker 4: YEAH i love the idea and.
- 1:45:58Speaker 6: THEORY i have the.
- 1:45:59Speaker 5: IDEA i didn't love the. Performance, yeah BUT i.
- 1:46:01Speaker 6: Think with the issues with him has always been eye
- 1:46:03Speaker 6: discipline and reading through plays and understanding you, know pass versus,
- 1:46:08Speaker 6: run you, know tells and things like. That so if
- 1:46:11Speaker 6: he can do, that LIKE i have to see, it
- 1:46:13Speaker 6: like he has to play.
- 1:46:13Speaker 5: More i'd love to see him get more opportunities if
- 1:46:17Speaker 5: it looks different Than.
- 1:46:18Speaker 1: Elis you gotta talk about the. Whiff, YEAH i.
- 1:46:20Speaker 5: Mean we'd be talking about this play a lot if
- 1:46:24Speaker 5: A chan didn't step out of.
- 1:46:25Speaker 10: It.
- 1:46:25Speaker 5: Right it Was mapu had on the, sideline had him
- 1:46:28Speaker 5: on the, sideline had the sideline as an extra, defender,
- 1:46:30Speaker 5: RIGHT i don't think he even got a hand on.
- 1:46:32Speaker 6: Him, YEAH i, mean not to be fair.
- 1:46:35Speaker 5: Dynamic.
- 1:46:36Speaker 4: Something, yeah you're gonna have if you're gonna have somebody
- 1:46:38Speaker 4: make you look, bad he's the guy to do.
- 1:46:41Speaker 8: It.
- 1:46:41Speaker 7: YEAH i think To evan's point, though like, then theory
- 1:46:43Speaker 7: part of, it you have concerned about the linebacker play right,
- 1:46:45Speaker 7: Now when Does Jelani tavai come, Back, like does he
- 1:46:49Speaker 7: does he offer anything? There you, know Does maphu with
- 1:46:52Speaker 7: a little more playing time potentially push for more playing?
- 1:46:56Speaker 7: TIME i JUST i really wonder IF i was, in you,
- 1:46:59Speaker 7: Know zach kor the inside.
- 1:47:00Speaker 1: Linebackers coach of what are the?
- 1:47:01Speaker 7: Fixses what are you saying to these, Guys like how
- 1:47:03Speaker 7: do you think THEY'RE i, MEAN i think they're both
- 1:47:05Speaker 7: better players than they, are and Especially, SPOLENE i think
- 1:47:07Speaker 7: he's better than he's shown.
- 1:47:09Speaker 1: And how do you get that out of? Him that's
- 1:47:11Speaker 1: a great coaching question right now for.
- 1:47:12Speaker 4: Me then the other question About, Diggs SO i, mean
- 1:47:16Speaker 4: should we and will we start seeing more out of.
- 1:47:19Speaker 6: Him i'm gonna be a little defensive Of diggs BECAUSE
- 1:47:22Speaker 6: i think he's been. GREAT i think he's been exactly
- 1:47:24Speaker 6: what they needed when it's been a high leverage, situation third,
- 1:47:28Speaker 6: down fourth. Down they've gone to him twice now in
- 1:47:32Speaker 6: the first two, games and he's converted on both. Plays,
- 1:47:34Speaker 6: yeah AND i understand that the volume isn't, there and
- 1:47:38Speaker 6: maybe that is somewhat, concerning BUT i just look at
- 1:47:42Speaker 6: it as he is a professional receiver who runs professional
- 1:47:46Speaker 6: routes and is available to the quarterback quickly on those big.
- 1:47:50Speaker 6: Plays and you, KNOW i Remember brady used to talk
- 1:47:53Speaker 6: about this With edelman And welker and those. Guys like
- 1:47:55Speaker 6: having that guy that when it's third and sixth that
- 1:47:59Speaker 6: you just know is going to get to the sticks
- 1:48:00Speaker 6: and and get you that first down is just it's.
- 1:48:03Speaker 6: Calming it's like a relaxing.
- 1:48:05Speaker 1: It, is you.
- 1:48:06Speaker 4: Know you, see you Know diggs From buffalo was one
- 1:48:11Speaker 4: player and then he became more of a volume guy
- 1:48:13Speaker 4: before he got hurt last year because you, know they
- 1:48:17Speaker 4: had that big play guy and now it's you're, saying
- 1:48:22Speaker 4: it's just that situational when.
- 1:48:24Speaker 3: You got to have it type.
- 1:48:25Speaker 6: Play, WELL i think that he was In houston.
- 1:48:27Speaker 3: Well but he had a. Volume he was on his
- 1:48:29Speaker 3: way to ono thousand.
- 1:48:30Speaker 5: YARDS i, MEAN i don't think the volume has been that.
- 1:48:33Speaker 4: Bad always got but the yards per catch is going
- 1:48:39Speaker 4: down even.
- 1:48:40Speaker 5: Further but this is a six year.
- 1:48:41Speaker 4: TREND i, know that's What i'm, saying starting a whittle
- 1:48:45Speaker 4: down and it's.
- 1:48:45Speaker 5: Not but like you, said, VOLUME i think the volume is.
- 1:48:48Speaker 5: Similar his yards per game have gone down every year
- 1:48:53Speaker 5: for like the last they had the graphic during the
- 1:48:54Speaker 5: game ON. CBS i think people are still thinking of
- 1:48:59Speaker 5: him as like the fifteen hundred yard dynamic receiver who
- 1:49:03Speaker 5: first got To. Buffalo he wasn't that when he Left. Buffalo,
- 1:49:06Speaker 5: YEAH i still certainly wasn't that In. HOUSTON i agree.
- 1:49:09Speaker 4: Everything you're, saying BUT i do think THAT i think
- 1:49:12Speaker 4: his production should go up.
- 1:49:15Speaker 5: With i'm With. EVAN i think he's been. TERRIFIC i
- 1:49:17Speaker 5: think every time that they've asked him to do, something
- 1:49:19Speaker 5: he's done. It, Yeah i'm talking about on the. Field
- 1:49:21Speaker 5: i'm not talking about off the. Field i'm saying when
- 1:49:25Speaker 5: they've called on his, efficiency you, know when targeted and
- 1:49:29Speaker 5: catch it like it's it's really.
- 1:49:31Speaker 4: Hot i'd like to see him featured a little bit.
- 1:49:33Speaker 6: Again they only threw the ball twenty three times in
- 1:49:36Speaker 6: THIS i, KNOW i, KNOW i do think that he you,
- 1:49:38Speaker 6: know the play late in the. GAME i thought That
- 1:49:41Speaker 6: drake was right where he threw the ball and they
- 1:49:43Speaker 6: should have settled that that route There and Did drake,
- 1:49:46Speaker 6: though say.
- 1:49:47Speaker 5: That's on, me, yes WHICH i think is a really good.
- 1:49:49Speaker 6: Move but either, way like, those it doesn't matter who it's. On,
- 1:49:53Speaker 6: ULTIMATELY i like that's that's reps like that's.
- 1:49:57Speaker 5: That's kind of What i'm talking.
- 1:49:58Speaker 4: ABOUT i think as you get more of, THAT i
- 1:50:00Speaker 4: think we're gonna see his production go.
- 1:50:02Speaker 8: Up.
- 1:50:03Speaker 5: YEAH i wouldn't be a.
- 1:50:04Speaker 6: Surprised and To paul's.
- 1:50:05Speaker 7: POINT i don't know if it's ever gonna go back
- 1:50:06Speaker 7: to what it once. Was BUT i agree with, You,
- 1:50:07Speaker 7: FRED i, think, look guy's coming off IN. Acl this
- 1:50:10Speaker 7: is traditionally an injury takes a little.
- 1:50:12Speaker 3: Tis.
- 1:50:13Speaker 5: No, no, WAIT i didn't say he's never going to
- 1:50:15Speaker 5: have a good get like a big, Game no, No
- 1:50:17Speaker 5: But i'm just saying he's never going to be that.
- 1:50:18Speaker 1: Receiver he's never going to be.
- 1:50:20Speaker 5: Over ten yards of catch like for for another. Season
- 1:50:23Speaker 5: like that's he's trending the other, Way like it's gone
- 1:50:26Speaker 5: from like fourteen yards of catch to like nine yards a.
- 1:50:29Speaker 5: Catch he's not going to just spike back up to
- 1:50:31Speaker 5: thirteen yards of. Catch will he have a game that
- 1:50:33Speaker 5: he gets like eight for one hundred and, Ten, yeah,
- 1:50:35Speaker 5: Probably BUT i don't think he's going to be that
- 1:50:38Speaker 5: guy for the rest of the. SEASON i. AGREE i
- 1:50:40Speaker 5: just don't NEED i Think. FRED i Think fred thinks
- 1:50:42Speaker 5: that's going to.
- 1:50:43Speaker 6: HAPPEN i just don't need him to be LIKE i
- 1:50:45Speaker 6: think why they signed him was when it's third and
- 1:50:49Speaker 6: got to have, it let's have a got to have it,
- 1:50:51Speaker 6: Receiver and so FAR i think he's stepped up in
- 1:50:54Speaker 6: those situations like that fourth down, play got the whole
- 1:50:56Speaker 6: game going for the. Offense, Yep.
- 1:50:59Speaker 4: Let's go To chris And. Orlando Hey, Chris.
- 1:51:03Speaker 24: Hey, guys what's going? ON i missed the post game,
- 1:51:06Speaker 24: show SO i had to make up board on the
- 1:51:08Speaker 24: on the on the, show HERE.
- 1:51:11Speaker 12: I.
- 1:51:11Speaker 13: GOT i got one.
- 1:51:12Speaker 24: Thing me And paul were talking about the safety play
- 1:51:14Speaker 24: out Of. Hawkins two. Things, actually the safety play out
- 1:51:17Speaker 24: Of HAWKINS i thought was. Better he was he looked
- 1:51:19Speaker 24: not as positioning as, much had an interception taken away
- 1:51:23Speaker 24: on a, penalty and then wanted to talk extras and
- 1:51:26Speaker 24: nose With. Eavan SO i saw a video breakdown of
- 1:51:30Speaker 24: The jets and The seahawks both exploiting their man coverage.
- 1:51:33Speaker 24: Shed The steelers come out WITH i don't know if
- 1:51:35Speaker 24: you've seen, this the condensed. Set they came out single
- 1:51:38Speaker 24: or two, wings two off set receivers in the slot
- 1:51:41Speaker 24: and opposite, side and ran crossing routes to attack like
- 1:51:44Speaker 24: the single height.
- 1:51:45Speaker 13: Safety did they run a.
- 1:51:46Speaker 24: Lot they both ended up scoring touchdowns on. That you
- 1:51:49Speaker 24: should take a look at that and see if The
- 1:51:51Speaker 24: patriots piggyback on that try to exploit a lot of
- 1:51:53Speaker 24: the single phi man.
- 1:51:54Speaker 6: Coverage, yeah so The jets and The, Steelers jets and The.
- 1:51:58Speaker 6: Seahawks excuse, me he's talking about This, delers. Right The
- 1:52:01Speaker 6: jets and The seahawks scored the same touchdown on the
- 1:52:03Speaker 6: same play in weeks, one week. Two yankee. Concepts so
- 1:52:06Speaker 6: you have the deep over with the post intersecting and
- 1:52:10Speaker 6: it would just like you, said single high safety in
- 1:52:12Speaker 6: the deep part of the. Field The, JETS i think
- 1:52:15Speaker 6: it was like a thirty ish yard, touchdown and then
- 1:52:17Speaker 6: The STEELERS i think was a twenty one yard touchdown
- 1:52:20Speaker 6: on literally the exact same play called The yankee. Concept
- 1:52:25Speaker 6: that what it's, CALLED i couldn't tell, you but.
- 1:52:28Speaker 5: We need to know the.
- 1:52:29Speaker 3: Entomology, Okay i'll look it.
- 1:52:31Speaker 6: Up i'll tell you. Tomorrow all, Right, yeah but that
- 1:52:34Speaker 6: same exact.
- 1:52:35Speaker 4: Thing we can just throw it, out but we need
- 1:52:37Speaker 4: to know why it's Called yankee.
- 1:52:38Speaker 3: Concept you, CAN'T i. CAN'T i.
- 1:52:40Speaker 5: CAN'T i don't throw it, out but you said anybody
- 1:52:43Speaker 5: can throw it.
- 1:52:44Speaker 4: Out that's, right BUT i.
- 1:52:45Speaker 5: Can't, Yeah i'm. Somebody, yeah it was the same play at. Homology, please,
- 1:52:52Speaker 5: good good?
- 1:52:52Speaker 3: Word DID i get that? RIGHT i don't.
- 1:52:56Speaker 5: Know i'm going to give you.
- 1:52:57Speaker 1: Credit that's straation.
- 1:52:58Speaker 7: Right last WEEK i had to google sistration and results
- 1:53:01Speaker 7: and reference to a muscle on this.
- 1:53:03Speaker 3: Correct.
- 1:53:03Speaker 8: Correct.
- 1:53:05Speaker 3: Good colin's In, Virginia Hey, Colin, Hey.
- 1:53:12Speaker 18: Uh missed the earlier part of the, Show So i'm
- 1:53:16Speaker 18: not really sure if you guys covered it, already.
- 1:53:18Speaker 2: But how we did a quick little question About.
- 1:53:21Speaker 18: Henderson possibly you guys cover a lot in a quick Stand,
- 1:53:25Speaker 18: uh but what? What what were you guys' thoughts on
- 1:53:30Speaker 18: all the holding penalties From? Henderson it seemed kind of
- 1:53:34Speaker 18: unluck him and were it was it just him getting
- 1:53:38Speaker 18: blown by a little bit quicker than he, thought or
- 1:53:40Speaker 18: if it seemed like just maybe some.
- 1:53:42Speaker 8: Nerves it's a good.
- 1:53:44Speaker 4: Question it's a good question because that you, know he's
- 1:53:48Speaker 4: known for his. Blocking do you think that they saw
- 1:53:51Speaker 4: a weakness in him and they were exploiting it a
- 1:53:54Speaker 4: little bit and he had to Reach.
- 1:53:55Speaker 6: Uh, NO i don't know if it was like exploiting a,
- 1:53:57Speaker 6: Weakness But i've just noticed that he's been really over,
- 1:54:01Speaker 6: aggressive and you, know he's been kind of just getting.
- 1:54:05Speaker 6: Overextended and then one of the holes that write up
- 1:54:08Speaker 6: THE a, gap he just tackled the guy in the
- 1:54:10Speaker 6: in THE a, gap so that was a blatant. Hold
- 1:54:13Speaker 6: and then he gave up a sack where he actually
- 1:54:15Speaker 6: picked up the guy but just got Beat and then
- 1:54:18Speaker 6: there was another play where they gave up a sack
- 1:54:20Speaker 6: where it kind of looked like he was supposed to
- 1:54:21Speaker 6: block the guy and he didn't block the. Guy so right,
- 1:54:24Speaker 6: NOW i think it's probably, mental like there's, something you,
- 1:54:27Speaker 6: know he's still trying to learn to learn the. SYSTEM
- 1:54:30Speaker 6: i don't know for a, fact AND i know we
- 1:54:32Speaker 6: only have five minutes, ago So i'm not going to
- 1:54:34Speaker 6: get two in the. Weeds BUT i don't know for
- 1:54:36Speaker 6: a fact if they still dual. Read but typically In
- 1:54:39Speaker 6: josh mcdaniels's, offense the backs are dual, reading so they
- 1:54:42Speaker 6: are reading off of two different guys and then they
- 1:54:44Speaker 6: take the closest threat to the quarterback off the dual.
- 1:54:47Speaker 6: Read so that's extremely, Complex like that's a high degree
- 1:54:52Speaker 6: difficulty in terms of the, processing and my guess is
- 1:54:56Speaker 6: that that's what's leading to the technique. Breakdowns is because
- 1:54:59Speaker 6: of the mental St.
- 1:55:00Speaker 3: Okay matthew And arizona in the Post brady.
- 1:55:02Speaker 4: Era the offensive adjustment Between week one against The raiders
- 1:55:06Speaker 4: In week two against The dolphins is the Best i've
- 1:55:08Speaker 4: seen since he's been, Here Since brady's been. Here other,
- 1:55:12Speaker 4: times this dramatic shift wasn't possible due to lack of
- 1:55:15Speaker 4: talent with THE qb or offensive coordinator to make such.
- 1:55:19Speaker 4: Adjustments patrician AND avp lacked the. EXPERIENCE i would argue
- 1:55:23Speaker 4: that if McDaniels had, Stayed jones would have still hit
- 1:55:26Speaker 4: his ceiling and gutten happy. FEET i don't know how
- 1:55:31Speaker 4: those twos things relate to each, other but, Anyway.
- 1:55:34Speaker 5: Jones did hit his. Ceiling you think he did. HERE
- 1:55:38Speaker 5: i don't think he's that, Good, OKAY i think he
- 1:55:41Speaker 5: hit his. CEILING i think he's getting everything he has
- 1:55:44Speaker 5: out of the ability that he. HAS i don't think
- 1:55:46Speaker 5: it's like all about the. COACHING i Think josh McDaniel's
- 1:55:50Speaker 5: got everything you could get out Of Mac, Jones.
- 1:55:54Speaker 1: Rookie Mcjew i'm just.
- 1:55:56Speaker 6: Interested IS i think that's his? Ceiling if they stick with,
- 1:55:58Speaker 6: this what we saw On sunday is that like now
- 1:56:01Speaker 6: their base, offense or next, week are they gonna, say,
- 1:56:04Speaker 6: well we're playing The steelers this week and we're just
- 1:56:07Speaker 6: something totally, different BECAUSE i just don't know if they're
- 1:56:09Speaker 6: ready for that, Yet like they might need to be
- 1:56:11Speaker 6: able to execute like a base before we start to
- 1:56:16Speaker 6: go game plan morphing week to.
- 1:56:17Speaker 5: Week and we'll, definitely like you just said this four
- 1:56:20Speaker 5: minutes left in the, Show now we'll get To. Pittsburgh
- 1:56:23Speaker 5: you know, that we'll turn the page. Tomorrow but the thing.
- 1:56:25Speaker 6: Is LIKE.
- 1:56:27Speaker 5: I love everything that they did offensively in this. Game
- 1:56:30Speaker 5: it's one of the best offensive games they've had in
- 1:56:32Speaker 5: a long. Time can you play like that all the?
- 1:56:37Speaker 5: Time can you run the? Ball and we're just gonna
- 1:56:39Speaker 5: come out run the ball the first three plays of the.
- 1:56:41Speaker 5: Game we're gonna get a first. Down you're not going
- 1:56:42Speaker 5: to stop. Us and then we're, gonna you, know start
- 1:56:45Speaker 5: doing some under, center you, know stretch play action boots
- 1:56:49Speaker 5: and we're gonna do everything that we want to. Do
- 1:56:51Speaker 5: or is someone going to stop you from doing some
- 1:56:53Speaker 5: of those? Things? Right? Like are we gonna be able
- 1:56:55Speaker 5: to throw the ball twenty three times and score twenty
- 1:56:57Speaker 5: four points every? Week maybe? Not you, know was the
- 1:57:01Speaker 5: quarterback going to complete ninety percent of his throwers every.
- 1:57:04Speaker 5: Game probably not like these are things that we're going
- 1:57:07Speaker 5: to find out as they game plan for other. Times
- 1:57:10Speaker 5: so what the other teams take?
- 1:57:11Speaker 4: Away, Sure joe writes in and he SAYS i wrote
- 1:57:14Speaker 4: last week asking if we could save the sky is
- 1:57:17Speaker 4: falling talk For. October that was a genuine, request not
- 1:57:21Speaker 4: a critique of the. Show, Still fred's prediction felt a
- 1:57:24Speaker 4: little break glass in case of, emergency and After tuesday's,
- 1:57:28Speaker 4: EPISODE i was left wondering If atlas was Okay based
- 1:57:32Speaker 4: on How evan sounded as a seventeen year, LISTENER i
- 1:57:35Speaker 4: ended up feeling pretty. Validated not only Did paul tear
- 1:57:39Speaker 4: my take to, shreds fred jumped in.
- 1:57:41Speaker 5: Two it was.
- 1:57:42Speaker 4: Glorious the only way it could have been better is
- 1:57:44Speaker 4: If freddy had taken a shot at my flat brim.
- 1:57:47Speaker 4: Cap by the, way flat brims aren't going. Away they've
- 1:57:50Speaker 4: been popular for like thirty.
- 1:57:51Speaker 6: Years so the sky is following. Thing this is going.
- 1:57:55Speaker 6: Up grinding my gears a little bit BECAUSE i WAS
- 1:57:57Speaker 6: i was in a dark place last. WEEK i could
- 1:58:02Speaker 6: not have anticipated they were going to completely change the
- 1:58:04Speaker 6: offense overnight like they ran one offense in week one
- 1:58:08Speaker 6: that they couldn't move the, ball and then they came
- 1:58:11Speaker 6: out in week two with a completely different plan and
- 1:58:13Speaker 6: they moved the. Ball like if they if that's how
- 1:58:16Speaker 6: they're going to play offense now Is i'm not talking
- 1:58:19Speaker 6: necessarily about the, production but just the style of, offense
- 1:58:22Speaker 6: Then i'm on. Board, Like i'm fully on. Board that
- 1:58:25Speaker 6: wasn't what they were doing last. Week and all we
- 1:58:27Speaker 6: have is reacting to what we saw in the. Game
- 1:58:30Speaker 6: so if they kept playing the offense's style in which
- 1:58:33Speaker 6: they were playing against The, RAIDERS i would have been,
- 1:58:36Speaker 6: concerned just AS i was last. Week so, LIKE i
- 1:58:38Speaker 6: don't think it's fair to, say, like, see like you
- 1:58:41Speaker 6: should have been, patient you should have no like last
- 1:58:43Speaker 6: week that offense wasn't good. Enough it wasn't good, enough
- 1:58:46Speaker 6: and now this week they fixed. It so there you.
- 1:58:48Speaker 3: Go all, right, listen we've said a. Lot been a good,
