- 0:01I want to close out the 98. I think this point is very
- 0:05important and I will go on to orange and that is that he's
- 0:12constantly trusting the point and if a person loves something
- 0:19or someone to sunglass idea, I'll be downstairs, I'll be
- 0:23there. But anyway, person loves
- 0:25something or someone, then they defended and they protect.
- 0:28So we gave an example. He gives an example.
- 0:30If someone were to yell at your child while you're right there,
- 0:35right for no good reason, even though you can handle anything
- 0:39and you, you don't really care what they say to you.
- 0:42Yeah, thicker skin than that. But your child, they get you
- 0:45upset, you protect. You protect them, you defend
- 0:47them. Why?
- 0:49Because who was so and so talk to my child that way.
- 0:51I don't want my child to be hurt.
- 0:53It bothers me when they're hurt. If you go a little deeper, your
- 0:56child is your extension and you're a sensitive extension, so
- 1:00you really don't want them to have that feeling.
- 1:03And it gives you a bad feeling when your child's in a bad mood,
- 1:06but especially when someone hurts them and you defend them.
- 1:09That's a structure the same light.
- 1:12Our mindset should be the exact same way.
- 1:15Along those lines for God, if someone does something publicly
- 1:20blatantly anti Hashem, whether it is their views, their
- 1:25opinions, the things that they say the way they talk, whatever,
- 1:29maybe some action they did. That seems to be a clear very
- 1:33big knock on God. We should feel bad about it and
- 1:38should bother us. That's considered an indication
- 1:41of how much we love him. That's the idea.
- 1:43He's isn't to go on in the community and he'd say that
- 1:45thing that party that move what someone said is a hula Hashem.
- 1:50It's I the eye should bother us. It shouldn't simply be I have a
- 1:57rule of of of values and doesn't go against my value.
- 2:00It's, you know, anti the right values more than that.
- 2:03I feel bad on that happens because I like God and God not
- 2:08had right now and his honor is being disgraced and we said
- 2:11yesterday and this is the point of a week.
- 2:13The idea of the Hanukkah store actually boils down to that the
- 2:17people who piped up to fight was simply because it did not like
- 2:22the lack of cavocha mine. The reason man is on this earth
- 2:27that I'm Bond says is mainly to bring out more honor.
- 2:31Honor to whom? Honor to God.
- 2:33God created a world with the intention of men, bringing more
- 2:38cavoid to God's existence. It's a big part of the intention
- 2:41of the world. So we don't really care about
- 2:43God's honor. They were, you know, in this
- 2:45sense, being weak and we're indicating a lack of real
- 2:50connection to Hashem. That's how far he says means if
- 2:53you care, if it bothers you, you'll say something that simple
- 2:56as that. When you see someone doing
- 2:59something wrong and it bothers you, if something goes wrong
- 3:01with the community, it's against your value system, right?
- 3:04You may have no opinion in that matter.
- 3:07You may have actually no role in that institution.
- 3:09It gets you nervous. You've seen institution and
- 3:11community being run their own way.
- 3:13Is it bodily? Of course it bothers you.
- 3:15Listen, there's nothing to me. I'm not involved, I'm not on the
- 3:18board, I'm not the rabbi. There as no connection to me.
- 3:21But it bothers me because it's wrong, right?
- 3:24The same idea you can to a further extent, is if you see
- 3:27something be done against Hashem's way, it bothers you
- 3:31because it's wrong, and it bothers you because God's honor
- 3:34is being disgraced. That's his thing.
- 3:37Good. So that's the last point of an
- 3:39indication of actual love. How do I show my love to Hashem?
- 3:44How is it proven? It's proven by how much I care
- 3:48about something going wrong. That's the idea.
- 3:50Next step when it comes to love is now on page 399 and it is
- 3:56fundamental. It is your covenant, your intent
- 4:00covenant. I do not mean how much
- 4:02concentration you have by praying.
- 4:03Intent means what's your motives whenever you do something now
- 4:08good, What are your motives are your motives for God, All your
- 4:13motors to do the right thing, all your immortals ulterior and
- 4:17that's right there. The answer to that question is
- 4:21an indication again how much we love Hashem.
- 4:25Coin being like fellow love about Hashem is a lofty word,
- 4:28right Love of God translate that to me in tangible way.
- 4:31You can't. How about love Hashem doesn't
- 4:34mean love Hashem, but in the in the practical form, love about
- 4:38Hashem is display on display. Based on these examples, how
- 4:42much are you bothered when God's honor is but to the mud?
- 4:47How much does it make you, how bad does it make you feel when
- 4:50someone does something publicly as blatantly against Kabul
- 4:55Shamaya? Do we know of such examples?
- 4:57By the way, in our mind, you know such examples when someone
- 5:00does anything blatantly against Kabul Shamaya.
- 5:03Let's take you take a person who is a very prominent person who
- 5:08does something such a shimmy inappropriate, right, that's
- 5:12considered a major disgrace to come out your mind.
- 5:15Why? Because his prominence,
- 5:17especially if it's a Jewish prominence, is representation.
- 5:21Prominence automatically becomes representation.
- 5:24He becomes an ambassador of God, whether he knew it or not,
- 5:27president of a school, of a shul, a member of a board, a
- 5:31famous name. His name is on buildings, a
- 5:33person that's involved organizations, wherever it may
- 5:36be. All those people, whether they
- 5:38realize they're not, they are ambassadors of God as they are
- 5:42because they're Jewish. They're involved in Jewish
- 5:45institutions and Jewish organizations.
- 5:47They're famous and people connect them to God's
- 5:50institutions. Then they go ahead and do
- 5:53something that's IE blamely well known, IE, that's now considered
- 5:57at the ambassador. The representative messed up,
- 6:02which therefore means that God's portion of God's existence was
- 6:08hurt in this world. That's how far it goes.
- 6:11The great person does something wrong, The difference begin him
- 6:16doing something wrong and someone who's not so famous does
- 6:20in the wrong is night and day. The other guy does something
- 6:23wrong, it's bad for him. The first person, the great
- 6:25person does something wrong and it's bad literally for Hashem.
- 6:29How much cavores did Hashem have in this world?
- 6:31It all depends on how much His people represent him properly
- 6:37and if one of his main prominent people represent him the wrong
- 6:39way. The cowboy goes down
- 6:41significantly. That's the point.
- 6:44And that is a lack of, a lack of.
- 6:47We see that. Can we speak out?
- 6:49You have to speak out. What about all these people in
- 6:51the community that voted for Mandani?
- 6:53Isn't he first of all? First of all, that could be on
- 6:59the recording. That's fine.
- 7:00A couple of points. Political thing that he says, it
- 7:04doesn't make sense. Political opinion, as crazy as
- 7:06it may be, it does not play into fully into this.
- 7:10We put them into power, we'd win and enter gold.
- 7:13That doesn't play into this directly because they might have
- 7:16thought that they're being super smart.
- 7:18They might have thought that they're you know, they they're
- 7:20seeing, you know, if he leaves, you know it's coming.
- 7:23You know it's and they want to get their hand in there.
- 7:25Not saying it's the right thing at all, but I'm saying it's not
- 7:28at all comparable to scenarios where someone does something
- 7:33extremely inappropriate and they're a public name or they're
- 7:36a public person. They are an ambassador of God
- 7:39because of their name, because of their position, because of
- 7:42what they've done so far in their life.
- 7:44Sometimes a person is better off not having been a rabbi, not
- 7:49having been a a a famous leader. If they were just a regular guy,
- 7:53they would have messed up short, but it would have been limited
- 7:55to them. Now that they're a famous
- 7:57person, they mess up, impacts and implicates God.
- 8:01That's how bad it is. And the cavoid Shamaya calls all
- 8:05the way down. Let me give you the positive and
- 8:07then the negative. The positive is, is that God's
- 8:10cavoid is built up by people who represent his name.
- 8:14It's that simple. If a tree would fall in a
- 8:17forest, no one would hear it, right?
- 8:19It's like it never happened. If God would live in a world, be
- 8:22in a world that there were no, none of us, then God's cavoid
- 8:25would be very limited. Shocking point, God's cavoi
- 8:29would be very limited if there was no Jewish people.
- 8:31If there was no people who knew his name, then the cavoi shamim
- 8:35goes way down. It's like it doesn't exist.
- 8:37Before Abraham Abin who existed in the world, Hashem's cavoi
- 8:41that the years were called nothingness.
- 8:43The world was considered nothing because nobody here, there were
- 8:46people here, many people lived in the world.
- 8:48But if nobody recognized God's existence and it's almost as if
- 8:55God to the world didn't exist. That's how far you go and the
- 8:59prominence and the significance and the importance of God was
- 9:03weighed down. Then you're bringing Abraham
- 9:05vino his family. What do they do?
- 9:08They recognize God. What does that do that makes God
- 9:11exist in the world toward people and that's a whole different
- 9:14existence and such a greater form of Hashem through his
- 9:20cover. Now if Khalid Shalom and
- 9:22Abraham, who was the representation, who is a
- 9:25recognition of God, if he would have messed up, then what would
- 9:28have happened? Again, caval of Hashem would go
- 9:31way down because God's representative.
- 9:34The only man who knows about God is not really recognizing him or
- 9:39not properly representing him. Go way down.
- 9:43Translate to the modern day. If you have a Jewish person, we
- 9:46have thousands of them. Thank God many of them recognize
- 9:49Hashem. But if you have a prominent one,
- 9:52one who is a representative who does something publicly plainly
- 9:56wrong they are doing is taking down couple of your mind, you
- 10:01really have to. Be prominent, I would argue,
- 10:03because a lot of times you hear these stories.
- 10:05Like I say, I remember as a kid on the plane there was a guy
- 10:08dressed up, you know because he's Hasid, but he was finished
- 10:12to a lady and it all fuss and me the newspaper and whenever
- 10:15housing this guy's necessarily be a rabbi.
- 10:18He just was. You know, you're right.
- 10:21Rest you weren't religious so prominence not really
- 10:24necessarily true public is also a thing you just like the hate
- 10:28and they and they see the guy if he was not religious in the 1st
- 10:31place. So no one knows no one cares but
- 10:33if he was religious right and he messes up and it's a
- 10:37responsibility. I remember I was a kid going on
- 10:40the bus from Guild to Lakewood every day and I remember they
- 10:43always they always they drilled into us to little kids school
- 10:48drilled into us all the time. Everyone drilled in, you guys
- 10:51have to realize Khul Hashem is the worst thing.
- 10:55Khul Hashem is the best thing. And they drilled into us over
- 10:59and over and over again. If you yell on the bus, it's
- 11:01Khul Hashem. If you yell at the windows, Khul
- 11:03Hashem. If you make the bus, shot a man.
- 11:05I remember all these examples to my head.
- 11:07And right, you go to the park. If you go on a trip and you
- 11:10make, you know, you do something, I Khul Hashem, you
- 11:13have to drill it in. You're right, the more orthodox
- 11:16the president looks, the more he is responsible to do the right
- 11:20thing. I think everyone does yourself
- 11:22in the right way. Exactly because he's an
- 11:23ambassador, he's representative, and he has the key ability of
- 11:28bringing out great Kapoor shaman and also has the ability of
- 11:33bringing out terrible Khalil Hashem.
- 11:35And we've seen them both sadly and to recognize this concept as
- 11:39real. But this is all true because
- 11:42God's Kapoor is dependent on us. His existence toward the world
- 11:48is through US. We're not just people who know
- 11:51about God. We are people who deliver God's
- 11:54existence to the world. The God of our Muhammad
- 11:57Takanakov is delivered to the world through our recognition of
- 12:02him, and through the world seeing our recognition of him.
- 12:05That's how it goes. So you're out of a very
- 12:08important position in life. You walk out with a kippah.
- 12:12You're doing a great thing. The state of Israel, like one
- 12:15day there, that's why they have such a spotlight.
- 12:19If they are defined, which they are defined as representing the
- 12:22Jewish people, and then they do something and the world gets
- 12:25angry at it. They are playing around with,
- 12:27they're on the pedestal of dealing with Kovochamaya,
- 12:31Thousand said. And it's important to know, to
- 12:34your point, it doesn't make a difference our religious they
- 12:36are, it doesn't make a difference what they represent,
- 12:39really. The world sees you as
- 12:41representative of God. You therefore are a
- 12:44representative of God. None.
- 12:46Doesn't matter what your political opinion is, doesn't
- 12:48matter how religious you are, right?
- 12:51Here's how it plays out. And because of this, if a person
- 12:54makes a mistake, it's a very big deal.
- 12:57A president does something good, it's also a very big deal.
- 13:00Cardboard shaman is in your hands.
- 13:02The next step is, is that if you witness such an individual doing
- 13:09something that's a lack of about shaman, it should bother you.
- 13:13It should bother you because you care about God and if you care
- 13:16about Hashem, you care about his cavaltes, same as you were when
- 13:20it comes to your child. If someone were to insult your
- 13:23child, you'd get furious. Someone says anybody, your wife,
- 13:27you get mad myself, whatever, but my family, you say that by
- 13:31my family and you'll attack. You're not an attacking type of
- 13:35person but you'll talk. Why?
- 13:36Because it hurts you. The same should be true when it
- 13:40comes to Hashem. That's an indication of how your
- 13:43love of God became real. And when someone says something
- 13:49now let's say he's blamely anti God.
- 13:52A law, a rule, an opinion, a lack of faith, something I
- 13:57understand sometimes you say let them have their opinions, who
- 13:59cares? But sometimes if a sudden that
- 14:02bothers you, it should make you burn inside and make you
- 14:05absolutely mad. And the only time you're allowed
- 14:07to be at least angry or angry shouldn't be the word hate is
- 14:11the word is for those who don't like God and those who create a
- 14:17Hulu Arsha is the idea. It's a key idea.
- 14:20It's a fundamental idea as an indication of how much you love
- 14:25people like to say, what do I care?
- 14:27Let them say what they want. Why does it matter to me?
- 14:30Let that organization until I had a conversation with someone
- 14:33last night about something that happened in a community
- 14:36organization. All right.
- 14:37I heard about it recently and they came home and I was
- 14:40furious. And I don't really get furious
- 14:42at all of it. I came home, I was very upset
- 14:44and my wife was telling me, why do you care so much?
- 14:47I said I understand this is a community organization, puts it
- 14:50there too, It's a significant place and they do something
- 14:53wrong. Got to bother me.
- 14:56If it doesn't bother me, then I have no values, right?
- 14:59If I have no, I have no position in the organization.
- 15:02I don't play a role at all. I'm not going to play a role.
- 15:04But the Jewish organization, it's something that they're
- 15:06doing, they're doing. You're wrong.
- 15:07It bothers me and it bothers me immensely.
- 15:10I have no opinion. And in the real sense, my vote
- 15:13does not matter. My opinion does not matter.
- 15:15What I say plays no role in their world.
- 15:18But it bothers me and it's supposed to bother you.
- 15:21Important thing to know, as soft and passive and nice as we're
- 15:26supposed to become, we are supposed to be bothered by
- 15:29things that are wrong. And you should have your own
- 15:31antenna. It's very significant in life to
- 15:34have your own antenna that says I don't like God, I don't
- 15:37approve of that, I don't agree with that.
- 15:40Does it make a difference? Maybe not, but it bothers you.
- 15:43And that's an indication of how much love you have of Hashem.
- 15:47Actually, when you see a representative of God saying
- 15:51something wrong, doing something wrong, being hype, it's supposed
- 15:55to get you nervous. And if it doesn't get you
- 15:57nervous, it's not because you're a nice guy and it's because you
- 16:01didn't make the connection of how much that is a weakening of
- 16:06God's existence. And it's a real, real thing.
- 16:09And we should have our opinions and we actually should be.
- 16:13People have to say why he's so opinionated.
- 16:15Who cares why? Doesn't matter.
- 16:17You shouldn't be a highly opinionated person in my humble
- 16:21opinion. Don't be a person who just lets
- 16:24everything go. Don't be a person who just says
- 16:26whatever they say. Why does it matter?
- 16:29Let them do what they want. Who cares?
- 16:31I'm not going to make a fuss. Maybe I'll make a fuss.
- 16:33That part true. But you have an opinion.
- 16:36Your family knows your opinion, your wife knows your opinion.
- 16:39You work on your opinion, you develop it, you work at it.
- 16:43Not the always rights, and not that you have a right to judge
- 16:46in a destructive manner, but you have the right and the
- 16:50obligations in it. Huh.
- 16:52Be a little bit of of a cynic. To be at least a critic and at
- 16:56times to be someone is not gullible.
- 16:58One of the worst existences in my humble opinion are the
- 17:02gullible people. I have an opinion out there that
- 17:05I sometimes voice, which is the most destructive.
- 17:09People in all communities are the nicest people out there to
- 17:13me, to the sheep. The sheep are those who just see
- 17:18something that's rah rah. I'll give you a classic example.
- 17:21OK, No, names are not indicating anything at all.
- 17:25But a lot of the times, all right, a lot of times when there
- 17:28are movements, often times in any community, when there's a
- 17:32positive movement, it's important to know that somebody
- 17:37majored is being sidelined to be that movement.
- 17:41When one thing goes up, something else goes down.
- 17:43Life is like a seesaw and all communities and all
- 17:46organizations, there are seesaws.
- 17:48When one thing rises, somebody, a nice, simple, good, less
- 17:52shamayan person can very well be sidelined.
- 17:56Have you ever seen that in your life, seen that a good person be
- 18:00sidelined? I'm trying to think of an
- 18:02example. An example can be, I don't want
- 18:05to give you even a type because I'm going to go down the road.
- 18:07People are going to how things in their mind.
- 18:09Imagine a heads organization that takes care of widows.
- 18:14OK, it's something we don't know of.
- 18:16Some of them take care of widows.
- 18:17If a new one pipes up and it's brand new, you never heard of it
- 18:20before, chances are that there's another one.
- 18:23An old one or some person round things out of their basement or
- 18:27taking care of widows is being sidelined and they no longer
- 18:30exists. I know of a classic example of a
- 18:33gamache that gives out certain items for people to borrow.
- 18:37OK and they've been running for sham Shamaya for years and
- 18:42somebody showed up doing imagine stress it bigger, better, nicer
- 18:49the whole bit OK and other people than it anymore don't
- 18:53have anyone coming to the house today.
- 18:55All right, but and. You know honestly what's wrong
- 18:57with that? OK, that's my point.
- 18:59A person has to be very careful. You're right, We have to be very
- 19:02careful when you know when you do that.
- 19:06Am I doing it for the right reason?
- 19:08Am I when once you realize that someone being silent, you have
- 19:11to ask yourself the question. I just once, 100 times, Am I
- 19:14doing a little shame Shamaya, or am I doing it just because I
- 19:17want to be prominent? Am I opening a gamache because I
- 19:19need to keep myself busy to feel good about myself?
- 19:22Or am I doing it because I really feel there's a service
- 19:25that the other people aren't providing?
- 19:26And I've seen both types. OK, Now my point is when it
- 19:31comes to the sheep, what's wrong with that is, by the way, is
- 19:34that someone's being sidelined and you have to always be
- 19:37careful of sidelining a person if you don't have a good reason
- 19:40to do so. That doesn't mean you don't do
- 19:42anything positive in this community or in the world, but
- 19:44it does mean you think about the guy who was doing it before and
- 19:48make sure he's not being hurt for zero reason.
- 19:51That's what I mean. Now, what's my point?
- 19:54Sheep is sheep are the people, the do gooders.
- 20:00The people who just go along and they get all excited about the
- 20:03new initiative and they have no clue about the fact.
- 20:07And I can tell you this, I'm from the other side.
- 20:09It doesn't relate to me at all. I'm not in that position, thank
- 20:11God. But it in the rabbi family type
- 20:15position, you see this kind of concept constantly.
- 20:18Concept goes to constantly, which is you have a very good do
- 20:22gooder who's behind the new movement, who is a wonderful
- 20:26person, who's the sham shamayam the whole bit.
- 20:30But what they're fueling is somebody who is something
- 20:34somewhat destructive. Why are they destructed?
- 20:37Because by this rising, the other thing is falling.
- 20:40That's just the way the nature of the business.
- 20:41So a person has to be kept by some point.
- 20:44You have to be sensitive to the sham shamayam aspect.
- 20:47You have to be very sensitive to change my mind.
- 20:49So if this is for God, great. If it's not for God or it
- 20:55doesn't seem fully for God, I want to check again and make
- 20:58sure it's being done the right way.
- 20:59And like I said, you have to have an opinion.
