- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up everyone and welcome to another episode of the
- 0:03Speaker 1: Epstein Chronicles. In this episode we're going to pick up
- 0:06Speaker 1: where we left off with the Hillary Clinton transcript from
- 0:09Speaker 1: her trip to Congress. So they had their big fight,
- 0:14Speaker 1: Clinton walked out, but she comes back. We'll go back
- 0:18Speaker 1: on the record. The majority's time had approximately five minutes
- 0:21Speaker 1: left and then I believe that the witness or her
- 0:23Speaker 1: counsel would like to make a quick statement. Lawyer for Clinton,
- 0:27Speaker 1: thank you so much. We've just used the break because
- 0:30Speaker 1: we learned during the process of this hearing that the
- 0:32Speaker 1: committee was violating its own rules. And members, tweeting and
- 0:36Speaker 1: sharing pictures of what is going on inside this closed hearing,
- 0:39Speaker 1: the hearing that we've asked repeatedly to be open to
- 0:41Speaker 1: the public. Chairman Comer was gracious enough to engage with
- 0:45Speaker 1: me on this matter. We asked specifically to invite the
- 0:48Speaker 1: press in since the committee has already made the decision
- 0:51Speaker 1: on its own unilaterally to release pictures and other things
- 0:54Speaker 1: that are going on in the room. He indicated that
- 0:57Speaker 1: he wanted to speak to that himself directly. I'd like
- 1:01Speaker 1: just to say for the record, we find it unacceptable,
- 1:03Speaker 1: we find it unprofessional, and we find it unfair. We're
- 1:06Speaker 1: looking forward to this being conducted under the rules and
- 1:09Speaker 1: being conducted consistent with the expectations of how these members
- 1:12Speaker 1: of Congress, I know, take this matter so seriously and
- 1:16Speaker 1: do it in that vein. We would also like to
- 1:19Speaker 1: indicate as a practical reality that we are here in
- 1:21Speaker 1: good faith. We're counting on the good faith of all
- 1:24Speaker 1: the members. Thank you, Chairman Comer. Chairman Comer, yeah, I'd
- 1:29Speaker 1: like to stay for the record. I've advised my members
- 1:31Speaker 1: that no photos or videos during the deposition can be released.
- 1:35Speaker 1: I understand the posted photo was taken before the deposition started.
- 1:39Speaker 1: That will not happen again, and we will look forward
- 1:41Speaker 1: to continuing with the deposition. Clinton's lawyer again. I'd just
- 1:45Speaker 1: like to make the clarification, Mr. Chairman. It was taken
- 1:48Speaker 1: in this room after the witness sat down. It's not basis.
- 1:52Speaker 1: that because she had not started speaking, that it would
- 1:54Speaker 1: be appropriate for there to have been a release of
- 1:57Speaker 1: anything that was occurring in this room. Comer, and we
- 2:00Speaker 1: made clear that it's not allowed. And I will also say,
- 2:04Speaker 1: we were disappointed that the secretary's opening statement was leaked
- 2:07Speaker 1: to the press before she even gave her opening statement.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Lawyer for Clinton, so the secretary's statement was not leaked
- 2:13Speaker 1: to the press. It was provided, as with other witnesses,
- 2:17Speaker 1: including Mr. Wexner, who provided his before giving, hers was
- 2:20Speaker 1: given simultaneously. And so what we don't want is the
- 2:24Speaker 1: secretary to be treated any differently than other witnesses. That
- 2:27Speaker 1: seems to be a consistent pattern, and we would love
- 2:30Speaker 1: that pattern not to continue. Oh, please, her and Bill
- 2:33Speaker 1: Clinton were white-gloved. And that's not me telling you that.
- 2:38Speaker 1: If you look at all of the depositions we've been through,
- 2:40Speaker 1: that's very obvious. Comer. We've gone through great lengths to
- 2:46Speaker 1: make all the accommodations that you've requested, so we will again,
- 2:49Speaker 1: the members, have been advised that's unacceptable. We look forward
- 2:53Speaker 1: to continuing the deposition. Thank you very much, Chairman. I
- 2:57Speaker 1: appreciate you addressing it. Now it's Robert Garcia. Thank you. No,
- 3:01Speaker 1: I just want to add, it's completely unacceptable that Oversight Republicans,
- 3:05Speaker 1: and its members in this moment, chose to violate both
- 3:08Speaker 1: committee rules and the agreement that they negotiated directly with
- 3:11Speaker 1: Secretary Clinton. Now the Clintons requested a public hearing specifically
- 3:15Speaker 1: to avoid this exact situation. Now Secretary Clinton is offered
- 3:20Speaker 1: to continue speaking throughout this deposition. If we also allow
- 3:23Speaker 1: the press to come in, on the record. Now the
- 3:26Speaker 1: majority has continued to refuse this. I want to make
- 3:28Speaker 1: very clear for the record, oversight Democrats agree today. They
- 3:32Speaker 1: should be allowed here in the deposition. That's been our
- 3:35Speaker 1: position from day one. Thank you. Yo, your position has
- 3:38Speaker 1: been to protect the Clintons. That's what's going on. Has
- 3:43Speaker 1: anybody ever really dug deep here? They just take their
- 3:46Speaker 1: answers for what they are? Okay, I guess. And with that,
- 3:51Speaker 1: the majority will conclude its first hour. We'll go off
- 3:53Speaker 1: the record. So they come back on the record, and
- 3:56Speaker 1: the lawyer for Clinton once again jumps in. Yes, I would.
- 4:00Speaker 1: First of all, I'd like to say I appreciate everyone
- 4:02Speaker 1: being here today. But I want to start with, we've
- 4:04Speaker 1: just learned that there has been a second violation of
- 4:06Speaker 1: the promise that the chairman made with respect to no
- 4:09Speaker 1: photos being taken in this room during the hearing. As
- 4:12Speaker 1: you know, we've asked for and did ask Mr. Comer
- 4:15Speaker 1: for the press to be invited in. They are sitting
- 4:17Speaker 1: right outside. Literally. He's been speaking with them, and we've
- 4:21Speaker 1: been asked that they be invited in at the last
- 4:23Speaker 1: break because we learned that there was a member who
- 4:26Speaker 1: was sharing photos from inside this room in violation of
- 4:28Speaker 1: this committee's own rules. We have now been presented with
- 4:31Speaker 1: a second photo of the witness, Secretary Clinton, while she's
- 4:34Speaker 1: been testifying in this room. What should do about nothing? God,
- 4:38Speaker 1: such a waste of time and taxpayer dollars. That is
- 4:42Speaker 1: completely inconsistent with the rules. It's completely in violation. And
- 4:46Speaker 1: it's also in violation of the promise that Mr. Comer
- 4:48Speaker 1: just made with respect to it would not happen again.
- 4:50Speaker 1: And indeed it did. And so I would like to
- 4:53Speaker 1: ensure that when we go back on the record, and
- 4:56Speaker 1: when Mr. Comer elects to rejoin the room, I note
- 4:59Speaker 1: he has left for the record, I would like to
- 5:01Speaker 1: be able to ensure that we address that. Or sorry,
- 5:04Speaker 1: he has not left, he's down at the end. There's
- 5:06Speaker 1: been a second violation, Mr. Chairman. So now, I do
- 5:09Speaker 1: really feel that it would be appropriate for the press
- 5:12Speaker 1: to be invited in, because someone has already violated the
- 5:15Speaker 1: commitment and promise you made that there would not be
- 5:17Speaker 1: any further violations. Well, here's the thing. The press should
- 5:21Speaker 1: have been there, and Clinton should have been in D.C.
- 5:25Speaker 1: They shouldn't have went to her house, just like they
- 5:27Speaker 1: shouldn't have went to Les Wexner's house. Bring your bitch
- 5:30Speaker 1: ass to D.C. Question, do you have a copy of
- 5:34Speaker 1: the picture? Answer, I'm confident that the one individual here
- 5:37Speaker 1: can share with you a copy of the picture, and
- 5:39Speaker 1: I'd rather that at this point we invite the press in. Comer,
- 5:43Speaker 1: we don't know who's in that picture. Question, we're going
- 5:45Speaker 1: to show the photo. Comer, it's from who? Answer, I
- 5:49Speaker 1: believe it's the same influencer, Emily, go with Andrew, to
- 5:52Speaker 1: make sure we have the same. Another stupid fucking influencer. Question, Mr. Chairman,
- 5:57Speaker 1: will you allow the press in at this time? Since
- 6:00Speaker 1: there has been a second violation of your clear guidance,
- 6:02Speaker 1: that no further pictures... We'll go off the record. So
- 6:06Speaker 1: they go off the record, now they're back on. Lawyer
- 6:09Speaker 1: for Clinton speaking again. Thank you very much. We've examined
- 6:12Speaker 1: the second photo that was taken inside the room in
- 6:14Speaker 1: violation of the committee's rules, Mr. Chairman. You've indicated that
- 6:17Speaker 1: you will assure that it will not happen again. Mr. Chairman,
- 6:21Speaker 1: we continue to believe that the remedy for this is
- 6:23Speaker 1: to invite the press in. At this juncture, we believe
- 6:27Speaker 1: that there is no reason not to do so. We
- 6:29Speaker 1: recognize that you continue to resist having the press join,
- 6:32Speaker 1: but if you would like, we would welcome that. Otherwise,
- 6:35Speaker 1: we would welcome no further violations. Comer, what was that
- 6:40Speaker 1: last part? You would welcome? Answer, I know it's hard
- 6:42Speaker 1: to hear without amplification. Comer, no further violation. No further violations.
- 6:48Speaker 1: But I would like to note one thing, if I may.
- 6:50Speaker 1: A New York Times reporter tweeted that her damn member
- 6:53Speaker 1: in the room, and then she said that Maxwell was
- 6:55Speaker 1: at Chelsea's wedding because she was dating a friend who
- 6:58Speaker 1: brought her on as a plus one. So there's a
- 7:01Speaker 1: Democrat member leaking to the press that's going on here,
- 7:03Speaker 1: according to Annie Carney. Do you guys see what the
- 7:07Speaker 1: problem is here? These motherfuckers can't do the job. All
- 7:10Speaker 1: these people that you love to fight about, these elected officials,
- 7:13Speaker 1: they're all garbage. Do better. At some point, we, the voters,
- 7:18Speaker 1: have to look in the mirror because we keep sending
- 7:20Speaker 1: the same morons back to D.C. and we keep getting
- 7:23Speaker 1: the same results. Clinton's lawyer. So, Mr. Chairman, thank you
- 7:27Speaker 1: so much. I know part of this is always about
- 7:30Speaker 1: the tit for tat, and I think that's what we're
- 7:32Speaker 1: trying to address. We're here, and we're speaking with respect
- 7:35Speaker 1: to the witness, and what has been a violation of
- 7:38Speaker 1: a photo of her inside this room. I'm not trying
- 7:40Speaker 1: to get anybody else's First Amendment rights. When it comes
- 7:43Speaker 1: to the photo, please instruct your member to take it
- 7:45Speaker 1: down into laughter. Comer, I have. Answer, thank you so much.
- 7:51Speaker 1: Nothing further. Now we have the next person asking questions.
- 7:56Speaker 1: Thank you. Good afternoon. Clinton, good afternoon. Question, my name is, redacted,
- 8:02Speaker 1: I'll be doing most of the questioning for the minority today. First,
- 8:05Speaker 1: I want to thank you for your long and distinguished
- 8:07Speaker 1: service to this country. Here comes the glazing. Answer, thank you. Question,
- 8:14Speaker 1: I also want to thank you for your time today.
- 8:16Speaker 1: We appreciate it. Answer, thank you. Question, before we get
- 8:19Speaker 1: to questions, I'd like to take a few minutes and
- 8:21Speaker 1: highlight some context that we think is relevant for today's conversation.
- 8:26Speaker 1: To be candid with you, it's not clear to us
- 8:28Speaker 1: that you have much information to share with this committee
- 8:30Speaker 1: that would be relevant to our investigation of Jeffrey Epstein.
- 8:34Speaker 1: For example, I would like to introduce as Minority Exhibit
- 8:37Speaker 1: A this excerpt from Glenn Maxwell's interview with Deputy Attorney
- 8:40Speaker 1: General Todd Blanch. I'll read out loud the relevant excerpt
- 8:43Speaker 1: for you. You can see that Ms. Maxwell was asked, quote,
- 8:46Speaker 1: Do you know whether Mr. Epstein had, knew, or had
- 8:49Speaker 1: any sort of visit, dealings, or associated with Hillary Clinton?
- 8:53Speaker 1: And Ms. Maxwell said, quote, I would say no. So Ms.
- 8:55Speaker 1: Maxwell is your witness? That's your testimony? That's who you're
- 8:59Speaker 1: basing this on? Okay, cool. Ms. Maxwell was asked, quote,
- 9:03Speaker 1: did you ever see them together? Ms. Maxwell said no.
- 9:07Speaker 1: So there are some events we're aware of where you
- 9:09Speaker 1: might have been in the same place as Mr. Epstein
- 9:11Speaker 1: or Ms. Maxwell at the same time. We'll ask about those.
- 9:14Speaker 1: But we're a little confused about why we're even here.
- 9:16Speaker 1: And there it is. There it is, folks, in plain English.
- 9:19Speaker 1: We're confused why we're here? No, we're not. What I'm
- 9:21Speaker 1: confused about is why you're not asking her why she
- 9:24Speaker 1: gave Glenn Maxwell's nephew a job at the State Department.
- 9:28Speaker 1: Maybe we should ask her about that. And save the
- 9:30Speaker 1: whole Ted weight and Glenn Maxwell being his plus one
- 9:34Speaker 1: for somebody else. Total bullshit. I imagine you might have
- 9:41Speaker 1: your own perspective on this. You shared a little bit
- 9:43Speaker 1: of that earlier. Is there anything more you'd like to
- 9:45Speaker 1: share from your point of view on today's conversation before
- 9:47Speaker 1: we get started? Clinton, thank you very much, counsel. I
- 9:51Speaker 1: appreciate your recognition of the context. Thank you. I understand
- 10:01Speaker 1: that that was a decision made to subpoena me, and
- 10:03Speaker 1: I thought I would have been more appropriate to treat
- 10:05Speaker 1: me in the context in which you have just placed me.
- 10:08Speaker 1: That's why I offered a sworn statement. outlining my lack
- 10:11Speaker 1: of knowledge with respect to either Epstein or Maxwell and
- 10:13Speaker 1: the crimes that were committed. But the majority of the committee,
- 10:16Speaker 1: and then the entire committee, determined that they wished to
- 10:19Speaker 1: talk to me. Well, because you've lied time and time again.
- 10:22Speaker 1: Were you or were you not at Zorro Ranch? And
- 10:24Speaker 1: if you say no, you're committing perjury, okay? Multiple witnesses,
- 10:29Speaker 1: including Virginia. And it's still somewhat of a puzzle for
- 10:32Speaker 1: me to be here and trying to answer your questions
- 10:35Speaker 1: to the best of my ability because I don't think
- 10:37Speaker 1: it's a good use of the committee's time. The matters
- 10:39Speaker 1: that are included with the broad scope of the investigation
- 10:42Speaker 1: as described by the chairman are ones that I take
- 10:44Speaker 1: very seriously, and I would personally like to see the
- 10:47Speaker 1: committee pay attention to those who have information that could
- 10:50Speaker 1: be responsive. Question? Thank you. I appreciate it. I'd like
- 10:54Speaker 1: to start our conversation with a few foundational questions so
- 10:57Speaker 1: we can get a clear record from the very beginning.
- 11:00Speaker 1: And you've covered some of this earlier, but I want
- 11:02Speaker 1: to be really clear for the transcript. Before his crimes
- 11:05Speaker 1: became public... Did you have any knowledge of the sexual
- 11:08Speaker 1: abuse that Jeffrey Epstein was committing against young girls or women? Answer, no.
- 11:12Speaker 1: All right, folks, we're going to wrap up right here.
- 11:15Speaker 1: And in the next episode, we're going to pick up
- 11:17Speaker 1: where we left off. All the information that goes with
- 11:20Speaker 1: this episode can be found in the description box.
