- 0:08Speaker 1: Now back to the Mark Simone show on woor Hey,
- 0:13Speaker 1: let's take some calls. Let's go to John and Danberry, Connecticut. John,
- 0:16Speaker 1: how you doing.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Very well, mister Simone. I've been listening to you since
- 0:21Speaker 2: the report on the overturned Chinese food delivery.
- 0:24Speaker 1: Oh yeah, Chinese detractor trailer overturned and put Chinese food
- 0:31Speaker 1: all over the highway. I gotta find that clip and
- 0:33Speaker 1: play it. It's pretty funny.
- 0:34Speaker 2: It's a great clip. Now, my question to you is
- 0:37Speaker 2: that you are the cars in the radio. So do
- 0:40Speaker 2: you ever see a time where you might pen all
- 0:42Speaker 2: your memoirs for all of us?
- 0:44Speaker 1: Well, I've had about six or seven book deals through
- 0:47Speaker 1: the years, and I keep trying. I can't sit there
- 0:50Speaker 1: and write. I thought, it's very tough to do. I
- 0:52Speaker 1: just don't have the discipline. But I've been trying. I've
- 0:54Speaker 1: been making notes. But you got to sit there for
- 0:56Speaker 1: like four hours a day typing.
- 0:58Speaker 2: You have to do it.
- 0:59Speaker 1: That's tough to do. All right, I'll get it done.
- 1:02Speaker 1: I'll get it done. A lot of stories to tell
- 1:03Speaker 1: about a lot of people. All right, John, great call,
- 1:05Speaker 1: thanks for calling. Let's go to Lou and Union, New Jersey. Lou,
- 1:09Speaker 1: how you doing, Come on, hold it down. People are
- 1:14Speaker 1: sleeping here. Go ahead, go ahead about Colbert.
- 1:20Speaker 3: Isn't there an exemption to the to the rule that
- 1:24Speaker 3: that's put on two people?
- 1:27Speaker 1: Well, yeah, there is an exemption if you're a news program.
- 1:30Speaker 1: You could put on a political candidate if you're a
- 1:32Speaker 1: news show. But the FCC has made it clear they
- 1:36Speaker 1: do not consider Colbert a news show. You know, The
- 1:39Speaker 1: View is under investigation for violating this equal time thing.
- 1:43Speaker 1: The View tried to claim they're a news show because
- 1:46Speaker 1: they do talk about stuff in the news, but you'll
- 1:49Speaker 1: never get away with it. The FCC does not believe
- 1:52Speaker 1: they're a news show because you got an actress, you
- 1:54Speaker 1: got a comedian. There's nobody there that's a newsperson, and
- 1:58Speaker 1: there are a bunch of goofy you know yent to.
- 2:00Speaker 1: There's a bunch of clucking hens. I don't think you'll
- 2:03Speaker 1: ever ever be able to come in, Zimbate. It's a
- 2:05Speaker 1: news show. Let's go to Vincent and Brooklyn. Vincent, how you.
- 2:09Speaker 3: Doing, Good morning, Mark? Mark, I'm okay, Mark, I don't
- 2:13Speaker 3: want your audience to think I'm some shylock who was
- 2:16Speaker 3: just interested in squeezing juice side of people. I want
- 2:20Speaker 3: to clarify something I said yesterday. This proposed nine percent
- 2:25Speaker 3: property tax that Mundamie's proposing is above the ten percent
- 2:31Speaker 3: property tax notice that I already received at the end
- 2:35Speaker 3: of January. And what most people don't know this goes
- 2:40Speaker 3: through everything. The power companies get a property tax increase,
- 2:45Speaker 3: and sometimes they're increased at fifteen percent or more because
- 2:50Speaker 3: when they send me the rate increases, they send Also
- 2:55Speaker 3: what building classification you are? Commercial? This, that, and the other.
- 3:00Speaker 3: The absolute worst with the property tax increases was billed
- 3:07Speaker 3: the Blasio. There were times when the homeowners in the
- 3:12Speaker 3: city would get fifty percent property tax increases. I got
- 3:17Speaker 3: one from him. Now, Adams, this slash property tax increase
- 3:22Speaker 3: I got in January. That was left over from the
- 3:26Speaker 3: Atoms administration and the whole day dug with all the illegal.
- 3:31Speaker 1: Yeah, Vincent, before we runt of time, you're an expert
- 3:34Speaker 1: on this because your own buildings, your own apartment plants.
- 3:37Speaker 3: Your landlord, my family, and I.
- 3:39Speaker 1: Yeah, I know you're an expert. Just explain to everybody
- 3:44Speaker 1: when you get a property tax increase, you have to
- 3:46Speaker 1: raise the rent, right, you got to pass it along.
- 3:48Speaker 3: You have to because also what people don't understand. Your
- 3:53Speaker 3: electric rates are going to go up, your fuel is
- 3:56Speaker 3: going to go up. Because the con edison owns property,
- 4:00Speaker 3: the gas company owns property, your local oil delivery man
- 4:06Speaker 3: owns property, or woman they own property. All the goods
- 4:10Speaker 3: and services go up. Even as I told Chris that
- 4:14Speaker 3: cup of coffee from the corner bodega yes to go up.
- 4:18Speaker 1: So the bottom line is when men Donnie does something
- 4:21Speaker 1: like this, increases the rent of everybody, middle income, lower
- 4:24Speaker 1: income rent increase Bock.
- 4:27Speaker 3: Yesterday there was a female black politician from Southeast Queens
- 4:32Speaker 3: saying that this is killing black and Hispanic single home
- 4:38Speaker 3: ownership in the outer Bury's. Donald Trump said that these
- 4:42Speaker 3: property taxes in these blue states is equivalent to pay
- 4:46Speaker 3: in the mortgage. So seniors they're finished paying their mortgage
- 4:50Speaker 3: off in their golden years, they're still paying the mortgage.
- 4:54Speaker 1: It comes back in the form of property ex vincent.
- 4:55Speaker 1: We got to go for the news, but excellent call.
- 4:57Speaker 1: Thanks for calling. Will continue this topic others in a
- 5:01Speaker 1: moment because Jimmy Fayla will be with us Next. Jimmy
- 5:04Speaker 1: Fayla coming up right after the news on seven to
- 5:06Speaker 1: ten wor
