- 0:01Speaker 1: With Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Okay, here we go.
- 0:04Speaker 1: Where the plays get broken down and science gets denied.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Dude, they said I gotta come off the bench.
- 0:09Speaker 1: Hour two of Off the Bench, live from the Raising
- 0:12Speaker 1: Cane Studio.
- 0:40Speaker 3: All right, welcome back in. OTB here live from the
- 0:43Speaker 3: Razor Cane Studio. And again, every Wednesday show brought to
- 0:46Speaker 3: you by our friends over at Poncho. Go to ponchooutdoors.com
- 0:50Speaker 3: slash offthebench.
- 0:53Speaker 2: Also, Wednesdays, Dr.
- 0:55Speaker 3: Steven Nathridge joins us every single Wednesday at 8 a.m.
- 0:59Speaker 2: Doc, how we doing? How we living? Doing great. Doc,
- 1:01Speaker 2: we got to get you a poncho. Yeah, we do
- 1:02Speaker 2: hate you a bunch.
- 1:03Speaker 4: I mean, I'm not going to object. I think you
- 1:05Speaker 4: did offer, actually, a while back. Yeah, and I was like, hey,
- 1:08Speaker 4: send me the sizes. Yeah, I never got around to it.
- 1:10Speaker 4: The photo was on me, so I'm not. I got sidetracked.
- 1:14Speaker 4: You did offer, so the offer was extended.
- 1:16Speaker 2: I did offer. I do appreciate it. I just never
- 1:18Speaker 2: got around to it. Hey, how about this? I got
- 1:20Speaker 2: a marker. What size shirt do you wear? I'm a large.
- 1:23Speaker 5: All right.
- 1:24Speaker 2: There we go. We got it.
- 1:25Speaker 3: We go large regular or large slim because there's two
- 1:27Speaker 3: different options.
- 1:28Speaker 2: You got so many options. Probably regular. Yeah.
- 1:31Speaker 4: I haven't been doing quite as good on my diet.
- 1:33Speaker 4: Slim might be a little too slim.
- 1:35Speaker 2: This is an XL slim. Yeah. I'm an XL slim guy.
- 1:40Speaker 2: It's more like the sleeves are a little.
- 1:42Speaker 6: Bit more tapered.
- 1:46Speaker 2: You know, sometimes it's sometimes better. So yeah. Yeah. That
- 1:50Speaker 2: is true though too.
- 1:50Speaker 6: I got faith in you doc.
- 1:51Speaker 2: You can go slim. I'll go slim. Yeah. We'll see. Um,
- 1:55Speaker 2: all right.
- 1:56Speaker 3: So week one, the NFL going to get to some
- 1:58Speaker 3: of those injuries. We'll get to some stuff in college. Uh,
- 2:01Speaker 3: I text you, uh, I want to talk about meniscus
- 2:05Speaker 3: because so Brock Bowers for the Vegas Raiders, like he's
- 2:09Speaker 3: got a meniscus and I think that is an injury
- 2:13Speaker 3: that can come with so many different variations and, and
- 2:16Speaker 3: he's getting a trim, and he's supposed to be back
- 2:18Speaker 3: in two weeks.
- 2:20Speaker 6: Me and Matt have talked about it before.
- 2:21Speaker 3: I got a trim eight days before the Sugar Bowl
- 2:24Speaker 3: and played in the game, and there's some that you
- 2:26Speaker 3: get repaired, and you're not playing in eight days, right,
- 2:28Speaker 3: if they have to totally repair it. Like, how many
- 2:31Speaker 3: different variations of a meniscus injury can there be?
- 2:35Speaker 2: And because.
- 2:36Speaker 6: Correct me if I'm wrong. You don't grow more, correct?
- 2:39Speaker 2: Correct.
- 2:39Speaker 6: And so like once it's gone, it's gone.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Once it's gone, it's gone. Yeah.
- 2:43Speaker 3: Okay.
- 2:43Speaker 2: You don't grow more.
- 2:44Speaker 4: And outside of like a really exceedingly small percentage of these,
- 2:48Speaker 4: they don't heal either.
- 2:49Speaker 2: So once it's torn, it's torn.
- 2:51Speaker 4: There's a couple of cases if you tear it in
- 2:53Speaker 4: the perfect location, somebody who's young, they might get some
- 2:56Speaker 4: recovery of that. But typically if we see a meniscus tear,
- 2:58Speaker 4: it's a meniscus tear and it's going to be, and
- 3:00Speaker 4: it doesn't grow back. So you have to decide first
- 3:03Speaker 4: and foremost, is it going to be where you just
- 3:04Speaker 4: go in and shave it down? Or are you going
- 3:07Speaker 4: to go in and try and actually repair the meniscus?
- 3:09Speaker 4: And some of that depends.
- 3:10Speaker 2: There's a lot of variables.
- 3:12Speaker 4: Where in the meniscus is the tear? So the meniscus
- 3:15Speaker 4: is a little cup of cartilage. You have one on
- 3:17Speaker 4: the inside, one on the outside. So you have a
- 3:18Speaker 4: medial and lateral meniscus. And as you get further away
- 3:22Speaker 4: from where it attaches around the periphery and get more
- 3:24Speaker 4: towards the central portion of it, it becomes less and
- 3:27Speaker 4: less vascular.
- 3:27Speaker 2: So it has less blood flow.
- 3:29Speaker 4: And so those are tears when it's really further from
- 3:31Speaker 4: the attachment sites, further from the good circulation. those are
- 3:34Speaker 4: typically ones you're probably going to shave out. You know,
- 3:36Speaker 4: it's not always quite that simple. There's always, there's a
- 3:38Speaker 4: lot of variability. It can be quite complex, but typically
- 3:41Speaker 4: you're not going to try and fix one.
- 3:42Speaker 2: If it's an area that has a bad blood supply for.
- 3:44Speaker 4: The most part, there's some newer procedures and techniques that might,
- 3:47Speaker 4: you know, might allow you to do that on occasion.
- 3:50Speaker 4: And then some of it, look, sometimes you talk to
- 3:51Speaker 4: the individual and, and, you know, look, you got a
- 3:53Speaker 4: guy like, like, you know, Brock Bowers and, you know,
- 3:55Speaker 4: he wants to be on that field. He doesn't want
- 3:56Speaker 4: to be missing time. And, uh, because if you had
- 3:58Speaker 4: a repair, you're out for, for usually a few months,
- 4:01Speaker 4: you know, that's, that's a longer recovery. You know, if
- 4:03Speaker 4: you get that repair, Versus the meniscectomy where you're shaving
- 4:06Speaker 4: it down.
- 4:06Speaker 2: Well, those, those guys, yeah.
- 4:07Speaker 4: Like your point, you know, eight days, a few weeks,
- 4:10Speaker 4: as long as there's not a lot else going on.
- 4:12Speaker 4: And that's not, that's not unreasonable.
- 4:14Speaker 3: Now I did after my rookie year, I came back
- 4:17Speaker 3: to Baton Rouge and cause I had always had, I
- 4:20Speaker 3: had like, I think two surgeries before for meniscus at LSU.
- 4:23Speaker 3: So just always something that was chronic for me. And
- 4:26Speaker 3: I came back after my rookie year and I remember
- 4:30Speaker 3: they said, Hey, like whatever you do, don't micro fracture.
- 4:34Speaker 3: And then I went under and they.
- 4:36Speaker 2: Were like, we had to.
- 4:38Speaker 3: It's something we had to do because I remember waking
- 4:40Speaker 3: up and the first thing, he's like, well, we had
- 4:42Speaker 3: to microfracture.
- 4:42Speaker 2: I was like, wait, hold up.
- 4:44Speaker 6: They said, whatever you do, don't do that. Why do
- 4:46Speaker 6: you have to do that? And what is that procedure?
- 4:48Speaker 6: And what does that do?
- 4:49Speaker 4: So microfracture is actually not for the meniscus, but it's
- 4:52Speaker 4: for the cartilage. So if you think about the knee,
- 4:55Speaker 4: you have two bones that come together, the femur and
- 4:57Speaker 4: the tibia. Each of those bones has a layer of
- 4:59Speaker 4: cartilage that's on the bone. And that's kind of what
- 5:01Speaker 4: we call chondral cartilage. So that's cartilage that's basically right
- 5:04Speaker 4: on top of the bone. And then the meniscus is
- 5:06Speaker 4: sort of... So that's almost like the bread of the sandwich.
- 5:09Speaker 4: And then the meniscus is sort of the meat in
- 5:10Speaker 4: the sandwich, so in between. And so if you have
- 5:13Speaker 4: damage to the cartilage that's on the bone, the contral cartilage,
- 5:17Speaker 4: then there are different procedures. That's not a meniscus repair.
- 5:20Speaker 4: And a lot of times the two will happen together.
- 5:21Speaker 4: A lot of times you'll see some... And I think
- 5:24Speaker 4: we had talked about this several weeks back. What are
- 5:26Speaker 4: some of those injuries that are the most difficult to
- 5:28Speaker 4: know what to do with? Cartilage injuries are hard. Cartilage injuries...
- 5:32Speaker 4: You've got microfractures, you've got other procedures where you can
- 5:34Speaker 4: put a little, you know, allograft to bring a little, little, little,
- 5:37Speaker 4: you know, segment of cartilage in and try and get
- 5:38Speaker 4: it to grow. You can do all kinds of things,
- 5:40Speaker 4: but none of the treatments are great. It took me
- 5:42Speaker 4: a while to come back and it's a longer recovery.
- 5:44Speaker 2: So, so why is that? Why is it tough? Is
- 5:46Speaker 2: it less blood flow?
- 5:47Speaker 6: Is that what you're trying to do with micro fracture?
- 5:50Speaker 5: Yes.
- 5:50Speaker 2: Micro fracture. You're literally drilling holes into the bone. Yeah.
- 5:53Speaker 4: So, so micro fracturing, you're drilling small little holes, trying
- 5:56Speaker 4: to stimulate some bleeding from the bone.
- 5:58Speaker 2: Even some of the bone marrow potentially.
- 5:59Speaker 4: And the hope is that that will stimulate the cartilage
- 6:01Speaker 4: that you have to maybe get a little healthier.
- 6:03Speaker 5: Right.
- 6:03Speaker 2: Maybe you'll get a little bit of.
- 6:04Speaker 4: Growth of, of more of a Highland cartilage, which isn't
- 6:07Speaker 4: quite as robust and thick. So it doesn't always work
- 6:09Speaker 4: as well, but you know, it does. And it is
- 6:11Speaker 4: a longer recovery. You know, every, every time you add
- 6:13Speaker 4: a complexity, you're, you're adding time.
- 6:15Speaker 2: Yeah. So go farther into the, the Highland cartilage Highland.
- 6:19Speaker 2: So you have chondro cartilage, Highland cartilage.
- 6:22Speaker 4: When you have a perfectly healthy joint, you have this
- 6:24Speaker 4: really thick kind of, you know, cushioning cartilage.
- 6:26Speaker 2: It looks great. It's, it's, Beautiful. Yeah, it's beautiful. The
- 6:30Speaker 2: hyaline cartilage is more almost like scarring.
- 6:33Speaker 4: So it's better than nothing probably, but it's not as
- 6:36Speaker 4: good as what God gave you. And that's a lot
- 6:40Speaker 4: of times what we're stimulating.
- 6:41Speaker 2: Right.
- 6:41Speaker 4: With a lot of the treatments that we do, you know,
- 6:44Speaker 4: sometimes that's the best you can get.
- 6:45Speaker 2: Right, right.
- 6:46Speaker 6: And so.
- 6:47Speaker 7: So there was a week one kind of injury, but
- 6:50Speaker 7: a lingering. Miles Garrett, I mean, probably the biggest. trade
- 6:54Speaker 7: in the history of professional sports or one of the
- 6:56Speaker 7: biggest trades in the history of professional sports, Myles Garrett
- 6:59Speaker 7: to the Rams. He is being placed on IR right
- 7:01Speaker 7: now for a handful of weeks and he is going
- 7:04Speaker 7: to have arthroscopic knee surgery. Now the injury isn't real
- 7:09Speaker 7: specific about what is actually hurt in his knee, but
- 7:12Speaker 7: there was fluid, some swelling and some pain. Like what
- 7:16Speaker 7: can you like narrow down what it could be? Arthroscopic
- 7:20Speaker 7: surgery is like will use for these couple of different things.
- 7:23Speaker 2: Can you share that? Yeah.
- 7:24Speaker 4: I think there's things, you know, that it definitely isn't,
- 7:26Speaker 4: you know, when you're talking about surgery, if it's a
- 7:27Speaker 4: big ligament injury, you know, an ACL or something like that,
- 7:29Speaker 4: you know, that's going to be a much longer recovery. Um,
- 7:32Speaker 4: if it's a meniscus injury, you know, could he have
- 7:33Speaker 4: had some type of meniscus pathology?
- 7:36Speaker 2: Uh, maybe, maybe his is a little bit more in.
- 7:38Speaker 4: Depth than the one that Brock Bowers had, maybe because
- 7:40Speaker 4: it was more chronic, maybe it's going to take a
- 7:41Speaker 4: little more clean out.
- 7:42Speaker 2: Maybe there's more irritation.
- 7:43Speaker 4: So not all meniscus surgeries when you're doing a meniscectomy are,
- 7:47Speaker 4: you know, that one to two to three week variety.
- 7:48Speaker 4: A lot depends on what else is going on. Could
- 7:51Speaker 4: there be a little bit of cartilage that's just kind
- 7:52Speaker 4: of flapping around, free bodies, other things? So it's probably
- 7:56Speaker 4: something in the meniscus sort of cartilage, you know, kind
- 7:58Speaker 4: of clean-out type realm. But not knowing more, it's hard
- 8:02Speaker 4: to know exactly.
- 8:04Speaker 2: So a scope is arthroscopic surgery, right?
- 8:07Speaker 6: Right.
- 8:07Speaker 7: And I know you kind of talked about the details
- 8:10Speaker 7: of that, but you hear about, like, guys, you know,
- 8:13Speaker 7: getting– something shaved down or something like that. Is it
- 8:15Speaker 7: like literally, I think about like shaving a callus on
- 8:18Speaker 7: your foot down. Is it literally kind of like that?
- 8:20Speaker 2: Pretty similar. Yeah. Pretty similar. Yes. Simple as that. It's it's.
- 8:24Speaker 2: And again, obviously it's, it's going to be a little
- 8:25Speaker 2: more complex for sure.
- 8:27Speaker 4: You have to, but, but for the guys that do
- 8:28Speaker 4: a lot of these surgeries, you know, they understand that
- 8:30Speaker 4: in the anatomy. So for them, it probably isn't much
- 8:32Speaker 4: more complex than shaving down a callus. When you look
- 8:34Speaker 4: at somebody who does this every day, day in, day out,
- 8:37Speaker 4: but you have to be mindful of where you're going.
- 8:38Speaker 4: You don't want to shave too much down because again,
- 8:41Speaker 4: to Jace, one of your shape, the meniscus doesn't come back.
- 8:43Speaker 4: So if we shave too much of your meniscus, now
- 8:45Speaker 4: we're leaving you with less meniscus. And, look, you're designed
- 8:48Speaker 4: to have a meniscus for a reason. So the more
- 8:51Speaker 4: of it we take out, the more problems you may
- 8:53Speaker 4: have down the road. You might feel great right now,
- 8:55Speaker 4: but you have that much less support. So, again, with everything,
- 8:58Speaker 4: there's a little give and take. So it's not quite
- 9:00Speaker 4: as simple. But, yeah, from the procedure itself, it's not
- 9:04Speaker 4: that different.
- 9:05Speaker 2: Catching up with our guy, Dr.
- 9:06Speaker 6: Stephen Etheridge, here in studio on OTB.
- 9:10Speaker 3: Doc, one of the things I want to ask you about,
- 9:11Speaker 3: and I know we don't talk specific injuries, obviously, with LSU,
- 9:14Speaker 3: but injury reports. Those are now new in college football,
- 9:18Speaker 3: and they have to be released. What is the time
- 9:21Speaker 3: they have to be released? And I guess maybe what
- 9:24Speaker 3: are some of the guidelines that have to be followed?
- 9:26Speaker 3: Is it a guy didn't practice, or if a guy
- 9:28Speaker 3: has anything, if he comes into the training room for
- 9:30Speaker 3: any kind of treatment, he has to be put on there?
- 9:32Speaker 6: Because I believe that's more of the NFL model.
- 9:35Speaker 3: If you're getting treatment on something, they have to disclose it.
- 9:39Speaker 4: Yeah, and so the injury reports go through the athletic trainer,
- 9:42Speaker 4: so I might be a little bit inaccurate, full disclosure,
- 9:44Speaker 4: because this is new for us. We help with it,
- 9:46Speaker 4: but they are the ones that present it.
- 9:48Speaker 2: Typically, it is, yes, what.
- 9:49Speaker 4: Is the likelihood they're going to play? That's really a
- 9:51Speaker 4: guy who's missing practice, a guy who might not play.
- 9:53Speaker 4: right and but you do have to put them on
- 9:55Speaker 4: there there is a requirement you know it does follow
- 9:58Speaker 4: a similar model to the nfl where you know it's
- 10:00Speaker 4: probable questionable doubtful and out right so i mean if
- 10:03Speaker 4: a guy's got you know i think i think he's
- 10:05Speaker 4: got you know less than a 20 chance or something
- 10:07Speaker 4: like that i'm missing um then he's probably probable if
- 10:10Speaker 4: it's if it's 50 he's doubtful uh or greater than
- 10:13Speaker 4: 50 it's doubtful so There's some variables there. We do
- 10:16Speaker 4: have to get them in early in the week. I
- 10:18Speaker 4: believe the last one comes in the day of, but
- 10:20Speaker 4: you have to update it a couple times throughout the week.
- 10:24Speaker 4: It's definitely not as regimented and fine-tuned as the NFL model,
- 10:30Speaker 4: but they want to know. They want that information. If
- 10:32Speaker 4: they find out that we had a guy that wasn't
- 10:34Speaker 4: practicing all week, we'll get in trouble. You know, we
- 10:37Speaker 4: can get some fines for that or penalties for that.
- 10:39Speaker 2: Or maybe kick you out of the SEC. Or kicks
- 10:40Speaker 2: out of the SEC.
- 10:41Speaker 6: I've heard that's a thing. Apparently.
- 10:43Speaker 2: I'd love to threaten that.
- 10:44Speaker 4: So, yeah, that has changed a lot of the complexity.
- 10:46Speaker 4: To be honest, we're still kind of learning this. This
- 10:49Speaker 4: is only a few years in. And so, like I said,
- 10:51Speaker 4: I don't want to butcher it too much, but it
- 10:53Speaker 4: is a new thing. And I know the trainers, because
- 10:56Speaker 4: they've already got enough on their plates, too. You know,
- 10:58Speaker 4: they're working really hard just to do their jobs, and
- 11:00Speaker 4: then you give them another task. So we're trying to
- 11:03Speaker 4: figure out how to make that work for everybody.
- 11:05Speaker 7: Doc, there's a really good question in the chat that
- 11:07Speaker 7: I'm really interested in because I don't know.
- 11:09Speaker 2: The rules here.
- 11:10Speaker 7: Now, I know you all do a lot with injections,
- 11:12Speaker 7: the stem cells, the PRP.
- 11:14Speaker 2: What kind of injections?
- 11:16Speaker 4: Yeah, they call them biologics, regenerative medicine. There's a few
- 11:19Speaker 4: different terminologies.
- 11:20Speaker 7: So that's all meant to put good cells back into you,
- 11:23Speaker 7: stimulate cellular growth. But the question I heard are there's–
- 11:29Speaker 7: Are peptides legal for the college level for the athletes
- 11:33Speaker 7: to take to stimulate healing and help the healing process?
- 11:37Speaker 4: So peptides are becoming a big topic. They're becoming very
- 11:42Speaker 4: widely used. And there are a lot of organizations that
- 11:45Speaker 4: are starting to ban them. They are banned from, I
- 11:49Speaker 4: believe the NFL has officially banned them. In collegiate sports,
- 11:52Speaker 4: there are certain peptides that are banned and In a
- 11:55Speaker 4: lot of professional leagues, they are banned. And if they
- 11:57Speaker 4: aren't banned, they're probably heading that direction. So we have
- 12:00Speaker 4: to be really careful with the recommendations we make. Now,
- 12:02Speaker 4: the testing for them is also not great. This is
- 12:05Speaker 4: not me condoning Tago taking because of this because there
- 12:07Speaker 4: are some ways they can test for some of them.
- 12:10Speaker 4: But so right now, it's not like when we get
- 12:13Speaker 4: the NCAA, they'll say, hey, we got these guys random
- 12:15Speaker 4: drug tests. Peptides are not something they're typically testing for.
- 12:18Speaker 4: I think they'd have to have a motivation to do
- 12:19Speaker 4: so because it is not a standard test.
- 12:23Speaker 2: So it's still sort of an unknown.
- 12:25Speaker 4: I typically tell my guys you probably should stay away
- 12:27Speaker 4: from them, not because I think they're dangerous, not because
- 12:29Speaker 4: I think they don't work, but the rules are not
- 12:32Speaker 4: 100% clear.
- 12:33Speaker 7: Yeah, just the governing body of that sport because I
- 12:37Speaker 7: think they're, usually if they are banned or something, it's
- 12:40Speaker 7: because they work.
- 12:42Speaker 2: Right, number one.
- 12:43Speaker 4: Typically, and that's what I tell people, at the very minimum,
- 12:46Speaker 4: you know, there's a peptides, there's a big debate out there.
- 12:48Speaker 2: At the very minimum, there are.
- 12:49Speaker 4: People out there who believe they give a benefit Or
- 12:53Speaker 4: else they wouldn't be on that list. So there are
- 12:54Speaker 4: people in high positions whose job it is to know
- 12:57Speaker 4: what's out there who are either wrong in that assumption
- 13:00Speaker 4: or truly believe that they are. And look, I do
- 13:03Speaker 4: think there's something to the peptide market. There's too many
- 13:04Speaker 4: people that have had good success with it. But to
- 13:07Speaker 4: be fair, there's a lot we still don't know. So
- 13:08Speaker 4: it's a little bit gray. But look, I tell patients
- 13:10Speaker 4: all the time, it's kind of a, if I had
- 13:13Speaker 4: an injury, I'd probably take them. But at the same time,
- 13:16Speaker 4: I don't really tell my patients to do so because
- 13:18Speaker 4: we just don't know all the details yet.
- 13:19Speaker 2: All right. There he is, Dr. Steven Etheridge.
- 13:23Speaker 3: Good enough to join us every single Wednesday morning at
- 13:25Speaker 3: 8 a.m. Doc, we appreciate the time. Thanks for coming in.
- 13:28Speaker 2: Always a pleasure. Real quick, forgot.
- 13:30Speaker 6: You looking forward to the trip this week?
- 13:33Speaker 4: I'm looking forward to it. I might have to get
- 13:35Speaker 4: fitted for some Kevlar and other stuff. I'm a little
- 13:36Speaker 4: nervous for how the reception is going to be when
- 13:39Speaker 4: we get there.
- 13:40Speaker 2: I'm probably trying to avoid staying too close to coach.
- 13:42Speaker 4: Or projectiles that might be flying through the air. I
- 13:45Speaker 4: would not be shocked to see a few of those.
- 13:47Speaker 6: I'm actually really excited. I'm looking forward to it.
- 13:49Speaker 7: That does bring up a good question, and I know
- 13:51Speaker 7: you're not at all the meetings and everything throughout the week.
- 13:53Speaker 7: You only have certain days and hours, but I wonder
- 13:56Speaker 7: if there's been extra communication to the team about, I
- 14:01Speaker 7: don't know, security or just extra protocols for this game
- 14:06Speaker 7: that they might not get for other games.
- 14:07Speaker 2: Yeah, I think there has been. I've kind of been.
- 14:12Speaker 2: I think they've been talking to him a little bit.
- 14:14Speaker 2: I think everybody's just aware. They should.
- 14:15Speaker 4: Yeah, this is going to be a different game. We
- 14:18Speaker 4: played at Alabama in 2019 when.
- 14:21Speaker 2: Trump was there.
- 14:22Speaker 4: We all talked about it beforehand that there's going to
- 14:24Speaker 4: be a lot more security coming in.
- 14:25Speaker 2: Because there was.
- 14:26Speaker 4: It was more getting in the stadium. We had secret
- 14:28Speaker 4: service at the hotel checking our bags. Once we got
- 14:30Speaker 4: on the bus, we could not get off the bus
- 14:32Speaker 4: or go get our bag. Or if we did, we
- 14:33Speaker 4: had to go back through the security line. So it
- 14:34Speaker 4: was a different protocol than what we normally went through.
- 14:36Speaker 4: I don't think it would be quite that extreme. But
- 14:39Speaker 4: we're anticipating a little bit more security at this one.
- 14:41Speaker 2: It's going to be something. Actually, the National Guard.
- 14:44Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 14:44Speaker 2: Dr.
- 14:45Speaker 6: Steven Edwards, good enough to join us here.
- 14:47Speaker 2: We'll take a break.
- 14:47Speaker 3: More OTB when we come back here live from the

- 15:41Speaker 7: put your feet on the ground and say, hey, I'm
- 15:42Speaker 7: going to get injured.
- 15:43Speaker 2: That doesn't happen. These are accidents.
- 15:45Speaker 7: And if they happen, a lot of times you won't

- 17:22Speaker 3: little bit of everything. Got the hoodie Matt's wearing. Got
- 17:24Speaker 3: the LSU pearl snap that I'm wearing.
- 17:26Speaker 6: I call it performance hoodie. Yeah, but you don't perform
- 17:30Speaker 6: very often, so.
- 17:37Speaker 2: I don't like that.
- 17:41Speaker 6: Sorry.
- 17:41Speaker 2: I mean, you set me up.
- 17:43Speaker 6: You put on, you had to at least take a swing.
- 17:45Speaker 2: Oh, you see, I got some dance moves here in
- 17:47Speaker 2: the studio.
- 17:48Speaker 6: I break.
- 17:52Speaker 3: On that note, to pivot quickly to the New Orleans Saints,
- 17:58Speaker 3: they got another tough one there, Bill.
- 18:00Speaker 6: They got to go to Baltimore, take on the Ravens.
- 18:03Speaker 6: And we talked about this.
- 18:04Speaker 3: Whenever the schedule was released, you knew it was going
- 18:07Speaker 3: to be a tough first two games, certainly for the
- 18:09Speaker 3: New Orleans Saints. And, again, I had no issue with
- 18:13Speaker 3: them going for two. There's so many people that caught
- 18:15Speaker 3: into the NFL show yesterday that were like, yeah, but
- 18:18Speaker 3: if you look at the history, if you have a
- 18:19Speaker 3: tie– In your division rankings, and it oftentimes ends up
- 18:27Speaker 3: where you make the postseason because that time they cited
- 18:29Speaker 3: Green Bay a year ago and some other teams for sure.
- 18:32Speaker 2: But I'm like, yeah, loser mentality.
- 18:35Speaker 11: First week of the season. It also doesn't matter. Everybody
- 18:38Speaker 11: in your division lost this weekend.
- 18:40Speaker 2: Every team. Right.
- 18:42Speaker 6: And that was another one of their points. They're like,
- 18:44Speaker 6: you'd be up in the division. Okay. You were not
- 18:47Speaker 6: guaranteed to tie that game.
- 18:49Speaker 9: Right.
- 18:49Speaker 2: 90% chance they win.
- 18:50Speaker 3: There's a minute and a half left with a great kicker,
- 18:54Speaker 3: and they just went through you like a hot knife
- 18:56Speaker 3: through butter. You weren't stopping them. They weren't going to
- 18:59Speaker 3: stop you either.
- 19:00Speaker 2: Could you imagine if you go for the tie, and
- 19:03Speaker 2: you lose? Then you lose.
- 19:04Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 19:05Speaker 2: No. I got no issue. I don't think so. No issue, but.
- 19:08Speaker 7: I haven't really heard anybody that has an issue with it.
- 19:12Speaker 2: I know the national people probably have talked about maybe.
- 19:15Speaker 2: I don't think anybody around here. No, I don't think
- 19:17Speaker 2: so either. You should.
- 19:18Speaker 11: Because again, like, I think everybody losing in your division
- 19:22Speaker 11: means you should go for it because at worst, you're
- 19:25Speaker 11: tied in your division. At best, you're a game up
- 19:27Speaker 11: on everybody already.
- 19:29Speaker 2: You're fine.
- 19:29Speaker 7: If Kellen Moore kicks it and they go down the
- 19:32Speaker 7: field and kick a 60-yarder to win it.
- 19:34Speaker 2: Which Jake Bates can do. Kellen Moore is getting drug
- 19:39Speaker 2: this week. Here for sure. My guy, he is getting
- 19:42Speaker 2: absolute like, hmm, did the right thing. But now you've
- 19:47Speaker 2: got to go to Baltimore. Speed of regulation.
- 19:50Speaker 3: Record be damned. 0-1, 1-0, 0-0-1. It's still the Baltimore Ravens.
- 19:56Speaker 3: Lamar Jackson looked really good. I don't know how good
- 19:59Speaker 3: the Colts are defensively. I think they've got some issues
- 20:02Speaker 3: for sure. But Baltimore went on the road, and that
- 20:06Speaker 3: game wasn't really close. So you've got some challenges. And
- 20:10Speaker 3: you got some challenges in Lamar Jackson, but you've really
- 20:15Speaker 3: got some challenges in Derrick Henry.
- 20:18Speaker 11: You struggled with Gibbs this week, and you're rewarded now
- 20:21Speaker 11: with Derrick Henry.
- 20:22Speaker 6: They're different running backs. I get that.
- 20:25Speaker 3: But Derrick Henry last week just shows you that he
- 20:27Speaker 3: doesn't age. And I don't know if y'all know his
- 20:30Speaker 3: regimen in the offseason. Everything he does is to get
- 20:33Speaker 3: ready for the season, the way he eats, the way
- 20:35Speaker 3: he trains, the way he sleeps. He broke it down
- 20:38Speaker 3: for us in August. It is, Matt, it is as
- 20:43Speaker 3: tight to, like, his schedule. Like, it's as tight to
- 20:48Speaker 3: perfect sleep, perfect balance in meals, workout times, recovery. Like,
- 20:54Speaker 3: you know, a lot of times we'll have stuff like that.
- 20:56Speaker 3: You know, 80% follow it. Or 85% if we're doing
- 20:59Speaker 3: really well. He is, like, 99.99999% following his regimen.
- 21:01Speaker 2: And you see it. That's why, like, he's over 30.
- 21:02Speaker 8: No, you don't.
- 21:07Speaker 3: He's over 30, and he can still be who he
- 21:10Speaker 3: is and still thrive, when most of the time, 30
- 21:14Speaker 3: is a graveyard for running backs.
- 21:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, he's got to be doing that.
- 21:19Speaker 7: I mean, that size, too, for what he's able to do,
- 21:24Speaker 7: it makes it even more impressive. For whatever reason, you
- 21:27Speaker 7: think of people that make it a long time like
- 21:30Speaker 7: that with their body, maybe a little bit shorter, maybe
- 21:32Speaker 7: a little bit more compact, and he is the absolute
- 21:35Speaker 7: opposite of that. So what he's able to do, and,
- 21:38Speaker 7: you know, I'll get him in fantasy too.
- 21:42Speaker 2: It helped.
- 21:43Speaker 6: Not like Kenneth Walker helped you.
- 21:45Speaker 2: Jeez, I'm sorry about it. I told you. Kenneth Walker's
- 21:49Speaker 2: going to go off.
- 21:52Speaker 7: But what Derrick Henry does, he has these games every
- 21:56Speaker 7: single season, and he's going to have a handful of
- 21:58Speaker 7: games where he's going to score three touchdowns.
- 22:00Speaker 2: It's just his game, right?
- 22:02Speaker 7: And then all of a sudden he's going to have
- 22:03Speaker 7: these games where, they got a good scheme where they
- 22:05Speaker 7: play some really good linebackers or get like, they just,
- 22:08Speaker 7: that it's not, it's going to have to be a
- 22:10Speaker 7: little bit more Lamar Jackson. And, uh, but the combination
- 22:14Speaker 7: of Lamar Jackson, Derek Henry is a flowers plan.
- 22:18Speaker 2: Uh, like it's, it's been impressive.
- 22:20Speaker 7: And Lamar Jackson, you were, he's go, he's, it seems
- 22:24Speaker 7: like Vegas knew what was going to happen.
- 22:25Speaker 2: What they went seven games last year. And that wouldn't,
- 22:28Speaker 2: wouldn't that way.
- 22:28Speaker 11: And then they were basically favored in like every game,
- 22:31Speaker 11: but like two this year.
- 22:32Speaker 7: Yeah, they had, I think, for a while, the highest
- 22:38Speaker 7: over-under season win total. I think it was like at 12.5
- 22:41Speaker 7: until the Rams traded for Miles Garrett.
- 22:43Speaker 2: Then they became the favorite. Last in their division, by
- 22:46Speaker 2: the way.
- 22:47Speaker 7: Yeah, seven wins to the Vegas betting highest winning over-under
- 22:54Speaker 7: season win total until the Rams traded for Miles. So
- 22:58Speaker 7: they know something. They knew something was going to happen.
- 23:02Speaker 7: Lamar goes 17-25, 324 yards and a touchdown. That's seven
- 23:06Speaker 7: rushing attempts, 40 yards and a touchdown. And then you
- 23:09Speaker 7: put that on top of what Derrick Henry did.
- 23:11Speaker 6: And what Zay Flowers did in the first half before
- 23:13Speaker 6: he went out with a hammy.
- 23:15Speaker 2: Yeah, is he out? Questionable. Questionable. He did pretty good.
- 23:19Speaker 2: He is questionable for the game. He's pretty dangerous.
- 23:21Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 23:21Speaker 7: So you just got to hope that Lamar has one
- 23:23Speaker 7: of those games where Lamar looks bad. And he has
- 23:26Speaker 7: those games. Contain Derrick Henry. And then Tyler Shuck threw
- 23:33Speaker 7: for 400 yards in both halves this time.
- 23:35Speaker 2: That would be an NFL record.
- 23:39Speaker 3: I don't worry about the Saints being able to move
- 23:42Speaker 3: the football through the air in this game, but I
- 23:44Speaker 3: do worry about if you can't stop Derrick Henry, how
- 23:48Speaker 3: many possessions are you truly going to get? That's the
- 23:51Speaker 3: thing that you worry about when you face a team
- 23:53Speaker 3: like this where The running back can keep the clock going,
- 23:56Speaker 3: and they can keep possession, and they can win the
- 23:58Speaker 3: clock in the time of possession battle.
- 24:00Speaker 6: But also, like, on third and seven, when you've.
- 24:03Speaker 3: Got it bottled up, and then here goes Lamar around
- 24:05Speaker 3: the corner for nine, that breaks your back and pisses you.
- 24:09Speaker 7: Off more than anything. But you do, like, they aren't superheroes. Like,
- 24:14Speaker 7: they're really good. But, again, the same team lost seven
- 24:17Speaker 7: games last year, right? So there's ways to– There's ways
- 24:22Speaker 7: to take advantage of it. If I'm the saints this year,
- 24:24Speaker 7: I'm working a punch drill because Derek Henry, if there's
- 24:27Speaker 7: one thing he can fumble the ball.
- 24:28Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 24:28Speaker 7: Lamar Jackson runs high. He runs high. Lamar Jackson can
- 24:32Speaker 7: fumble the ball. He can make, he can make bad
- 24:35Speaker 7: decisions as a passer can not say he always does.
- 24:38Speaker 7: He's one of the top quarterbacks in the league and
- 24:40Speaker 7: has been for a long time. He's two time MVP
- 24:42Speaker 7: for a reason. He's 29 still.
- 24:44Speaker 2: Oh my God.
- 24:46Speaker 5: Jeez.
- 24:47Speaker 7: He's been in the league for three decades and he's 29. Um, So, yes,
- 24:52Speaker 7: I'm working on the punch drill, and I'm not shocked
- 24:58Speaker 7: if I watch the Ravens and you see a Derrick Henry.
- 25:00Speaker 7: You just have to take advantage of him. You have
- 25:01Speaker 7: to be the one that falls on the ball. Because
- 25:03Speaker 7: if they give you just like a sliver of hope,
- 25:06Speaker 7: you've got to take advantage of it and take advantage
- 25:08Speaker 7: of any mistake. Because they didn't make a lot of
- 25:11Speaker 7: mistakes in week one. They are a better team than you,
- 25:14Speaker 7: but that doesn't mean that they're going to win every time.
- 25:16Speaker 7: So you just have to take advantage of any mistake
- 25:19Speaker 7: they make.
- 25:21Speaker 2: I'm calling it now.
- 25:21Speaker 6: Caden Ellis, forced fumble.
- 25:24Speaker 2: Book it.
- 25:25Speaker 6: On Derek?
- 25:26Speaker 2: No, just anybody.
- 25:28Speaker 6: Calling it right now. Caden Ellis, forced fumble.
- 25:30Speaker 2: Okay.
- 25:31Speaker 6: Can we get a prop on that? Yep.
- 25:33Speaker 2: Those odds would be pretty good.
- 25:35Speaker 11: This is the same guy that hit on Caden's second
- 25:39Speaker 11: touchdown score.
- 25:40Speaker 2: That's right.
- 25:40Speaker 11: A few years ago, so I'm going to back Jake
- 25:43Speaker 11: on this one.
- 25:44Speaker 2: You with me?
- 25:45Speaker 9: I'm in.
- 25:46Speaker 2: Kool-Aid. With a little. A peanut punch? A little peanut punch.
- 25:53Speaker 2: Pat Tillman?
- 25:54Speaker 7: He's going to come in and hammer fist the ball.
- 26:01Speaker 7: Derrick Henry won't see it coming. He's going to have
- 26:03Speaker 7: the worst game of his career this week. He's going
- 26:07Speaker 7: to be reading the press clip and thinking about how
- 26:09Speaker 7: good he is. He hadn't been there before. He's not
- 26:14Speaker 7: experienced enough.
- 26:16Speaker 3: Saints fans, this is going to be an uphill battle.
- 26:19Speaker 3: There's no doubt about it. Baltimore's a good team. But
- 26:22Speaker 3: if you play like you did in the second half,
- 26:27Speaker 3: against this team, I was just about to say, it
- 26:30Speaker 3: doesn't matter who you're playing, you're good. Doesn't matter who
- 26:34Speaker 3: you're playing. If you play like you did in the
- 26:36Speaker 3: second half, you'll be in every game you play this year.
- 26:39Speaker 3: You can't get behind the eight ball like you did
- 26:41Speaker 3: in the first half.
- 26:41Speaker 2: That's the issue.
- 26:43Speaker 6: A good team like Detroit, and they are going to
- 26:44Speaker 6: be a good team.
- 26:46Speaker 2: You can't spot them three touchdowns. That can't happen.
- 26:50Speaker 3: So you clean that up, and the Saints are going
- 26:54Speaker 3: to be able to compete with the Ravens, the Raiders,
- 26:56Speaker 3: the Falcons, the Vikings, the Giants, all these teams on
- 26:58Speaker 3: their schedule. And if you find a way to win
- 27:01Speaker 3: this game, just find a way. You've got the Raiders
- 27:06Speaker 3: and Falcons at home. Now, I do think Minnesota is
- 27:09Speaker 3: going to be actually a pretty good team. Then you
- 27:11Speaker 3: go on the road to the Giants. Those are winnable games.
- 27:16Speaker 3: I know the Giants look good against the Cowboys. I
- 27:18Speaker 3: think that had a lot to do with how bad
- 27:19Speaker 3: the Cowboys looked as well. If you can find your
- 27:23Speaker 3: way to go to Paris against the Steelers and only
- 27:27Speaker 3: have two losses, potentially, now I don't know where they come,
- 27:30Speaker 3: but if you only have two losses and you're heading
- 27:32Speaker 3: to that game, I think you have done exactly what
- 27:35Speaker 3: you need to do on your schedule. Because remember, we
- 27:38Speaker 3: talked about the Saints in the back end of their
- 27:40Speaker 3: schedule and what it looks like.
- 27:42Speaker 2: The last five weeks of the.
- 27:44Speaker 3: Season at Carolina, at Tampa Bay, the Cardinals at home,
- 27:49Speaker 3: at Atlanta, Tampa Bay at home. Four out of your
- 27:51Speaker 3: five games are NFC South games. So, if you just
- 27:56Speaker 3: hold the water, if you just don't fall off a cliff,
- 27:59Speaker 3: you're going to have a chance at the end of
- 28:01Speaker 3: the season. You'll control your own destiny to make it
- 28:04Speaker 3: to the postseason.
- 28:08Speaker 7: They're not going to fall off unless it's because of injuries.
- 28:11Speaker 7: They're good enough to sustain, and they're good enough to
- 28:14Speaker 7: win games. They're dangerous enough. They They have a heavy
- 28:17Speaker 7: enough punch on offense to be able to win plenty
- 28:20Speaker 7: of games, bar an injury. So they just got to
- 28:24Speaker 7: stay healthy, and then they'll be fine this year.
- 28:31Speaker 6: Anybody want to predict right now? Do they get it
- 28:34Speaker 6: done against Baltimore?
- 28:35Speaker 2: I'll say no. Oh, yeah. They're going to win. Alondra?
- 28:41Speaker 10: Is Zay Flowers going to be out?
- 28:43Speaker 2: It's questionable. If he's out, look out.
- 28:46Speaker 10: If he's out.
- 28:47Speaker 6: Right now, seven and a half is the line.
- 28:50Speaker 2: I was watching yesterday. He's trending towards not playing. The
- 28:54Speaker 2: Cardinals beat the Chargers. It doesn't mean he will. The
- 28:58Speaker 2: Cardinals beat the Chargers and beat them up. Anything can happen.
- 29:02Speaker 6: The Cardinals won by 12, and they were nine and
- 29:03Speaker 6: a half point dogs.
- 29:05Speaker 2: So, yeah. Imagine if you had to alternate line that.
- 29:08Speaker 7: Chuck just threw for 400 plus yards and played terrible
- 29:13Speaker 7: in the first half.
- 29:13Speaker 10: Give me the Saints. Who dat?
- 29:16Speaker 2: Who dat? Let's go.
- 29:18Speaker 3: Again, like you did in the second half, you can
- 29:20Speaker 3: beat anybody in the National Football League. All right, we
- 29:22Speaker 3: will step away. More OTB when we come back here
- 29:25Speaker 3: live from the Raising Cane Studio.
- 29:27Speaker 11: Off the bench.
- 29:28Speaker 3: All right, if your bathroom is starting to feel a

- 30:31Speaker 2: This is what you do.
- 30:34Speaker 10: This is what you do.
- 30:36Speaker 2: This is what you do.
- 30:40Speaker 6: This is what you do.
- 30:42Speaker 10: We want to be the one with you.
- 30:44Speaker 8: So we do a relationship with you.
- 30:47Speaker 10: Welcome back to Off The Bench.
- 30:49Speaker 1: Wednesday's show is brought.
- 30:51Speaker 3: To you by Poncho.
- 31:12Speaker 6: All right, welcome back in.
- 31:13Speaker 9: OTB here live from the Raising Cane Studio. Alondra, we
- 31:15Speaker 9: have some news that, well, typically I'd be like, what
- 31:19Speaker 9: are you?
- 31:19Speaker 3: What?
- 31:20Speaker 7: But this is like 20, this is 2026.
- 31:21Speaker 6: College football at its peak.
- 31:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 31:39Speaker 5: As the SEC world turns, we're just going to like
- 31:42Speaker 5: telenovela it up. So Princewell, Umami, Ellen, and if you
- 31:47Speaker 5: remember back in the summer, Devin Harper were both Going
- 31:52Speaker 5: to Devin, right? I always mix him and Dylan Harper.
- 31:54Speaker 5: I think about the Spurs as Devin.
- 31:55Speaker 10: Devin Harper.
- 31:56Speaker 6: Look, if you say it wrong, I know why. Everybody
- 31:59Speaker 6: knows why.
- 31:59Speaker 2: It's too close.
- 32:00Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 32:00Speaker 5: So Prince Will and Mommy Ellen and Devin Harper were
- 32:04Speaker 5: being sued by Ole Miss because they had signed a
- 32:08Speaker 5: contract to stay there and then turned around and left
- 32:11Speaker 5: and came to LSU. So being sued yesterday in the
- 32:16Speaker 5: LSU football ops parking lot over on Skip Burtman Drive.
- 32:21Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 32:21Speaker 10: Prince Umami Ellen was served court papers.
- 32:25Speaker 2: Oh, stop it.
- 32:25Speaker 10: Outside.
- 32:29Speaker 6: So the papers were served by them in the LSU
- 32:34Speaker 6: parking lot.
- 32:34Speaker 10: Correct.
- 32:35Speaker 6: The week of the LSU Ole Miss game.
- 32:38Speaker 10: Correct.
- 32:39Speaker 5: The article says, this is from the article, the timing
- 32:43Speaker 5: of the actual gesture certainly stands out.
- 32:48Speaker 2: You don't say. Interesting.
- 32:52Speaker 10: So that's what's going on. Umami Ellen, I guess maybe
- 32:56Speaker 10: they couldn't find Harper.
- 32:57Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 32:59Speaker 6: He said, y'all ain't getting me.
- 33:02Speaker 2: He saw Prince Will outside.
- 33:04Speaker 3: And was like, hmm. Harper's from Shreveport. He's from the
- 33:08Speaker 3: Ratchet City. He's about this life.
- 33:10Speaker 5: He saw Prince Will being served some papers, and he's
- 33:13Speaker 5: just like the Simpsons meme where he.
- 33:15Speaker 6: Backed into the bush. Hey, us from Shreveport, we know
- 33:18Speaker 6: how to work the system. We got it.
- 33:20Speaker 2: He slipped out the back.
- 33:21Speaker 10: You know how to escape a warrant.
- 33:22Speaker 2: That's on Prince.
- 33:23Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 33:24Speaker 2: Which, honestly.
- 33:25Speaker 10: Yeah, why were you out in the parking lot?
- 33:27Speaker 2: They probably had to wait for our guy.
- 33:29Speaker 11: We had Prince Will and Player interviews yesterday, so he
- 33:32Speaker 11: came out late.
- 33:33Speaker 2: So they had to wait for him. It's y'all's fault.
- 33:36Speaker 2: It is y'all's fault. Yeah. Y'all told everybody where he was. Yeah.
- 33:40Speaker 11: LSU was live streaming it, and Ole Miss was like,
- 33:43Speaker 11: we know he's in the building.
- 33:44Speaker 2: Got him. He's right there.
- 33:45Speaker 7: We've all seen the movies and the TV shows where
- 33:48Speaker 7: people have to dress up and disguise and distract people
- 33:52Speaker 7: in order to serve them court papers.
- 33:54Speaker 2: I wonder what it was yesterday. Like a fan? Like, hey, Prince,
- 33:57Speaker 2: can I get a big fan? Can I get your autograph? Yeah,
- 34:00Speaker 2: I wonder how they did that. Thank you, you've been served.
- 34:02Speaker 2: I don't know if that's how it works in the
- 34:03Speaker 2: real world. I feel like legally, just go get a baby.
- 34:05Speaker 7: I just see it on movies. See it on movies
- 34:07Speaker 7: and TV shows. I wonder if that's how it played
- 34:08Speaker 7: out yesterday.
- 34:09Speaker 10: Do you think they say, you've been served?
- 34:11Speaker 6: You've been served. Or like the movie, You Got Served.
- 34:15Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 34:18Speaker 6: Do a little dance when you do it.
- 34:19Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 34:21Speaker 5: Both players' agreements with the Rebels included penalties for breaking
- 34:24Speaker 5: the contract within a 90-day window. So Harper and Umami
- 34:29Speaker 5: Yellen on 16th and 22nd respectively.
- 34:32Speaker 9: Oh, wait.
- 34:32Speaker 10: They requested payment from them. They never got it. Remember
- 34:36Speaker 10: that was the thing? People were like, oh, LSU's not
- 34:38Speaker 10: going to pay for them to.
- 34:41Speaker 2: Right. This is his court appearance on the 19th? It'd
- 34:47Speaker 2: be convenient. We're actually going to have court on a Saturday. Yeah,
- 34:49Speaker 2: we're all coming in. We're all coming in.
- 34:51Speaker 5: Sources previously told ESPN that the lawsuit is more about
- 34:54Speaker 5: Ole Miss forcing LSU to account for the $ 900, 000 on
- 34:58Speaker 5: their revenue sharing cap rather than recouping the money from
- 35:01Speaker 5: its former players.
- 35:02Speaker 2: I'll tell you what. Why would Ole Miss be mad
- 35:04Speaker 2: at LSU? Did something happen between the two?
- 35:07Speaker 7: LSU's just be like, let's just take this contract. We'll
- 35:10Speaker 7: just go double or nothing. Saturday night.
- 35:13Speaker 10: Wait, this comment in the chat made me laugh.
- 35:15Speaker 5: Alvo said, it was a judge crying while serving the
- 35:17Speaker 5: paper saying, how could you?
- 35:19Speaker 2: Yes. What did we say at the break? How could
- 35:21Speaker 2: they go to the parking lot and serve these kids?
- 35:24Speaker 2: These kids.
- 35:26Speaker 10: You're going to go and make.
- 35:27Speaker 6: I didn't know what they were signing.
- 35:29Speaker 8: Coerce.
- 35:29Speaker 2: Yeah, these are children.
- 35:30Speaker 5: Coerce this child into going to court.
- 35:34Speaker 10: Disgusting.
- 35:35Speaker 2: He was just a kid. I bet he didn't even
- 35:37Speaker 2: have a legal right to sign that contract. He's just
- 35:39Speaker 2: a child. Basically a baby.
- 35:41Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 35:43Speaker 2: Wow. Can't sign anything.
- 35:44Speaker 10: Didn't know Ole Miss didn't respect children, but here we are.
- 35:47Speaker 2: Ole Miss hates children. Didn't know that. Now we do.
- 35:52Speaker 6: That's a deep cut if you weren't listening from earlier,
- 35:54Speaker 6: by the way.
- 35:54Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. That's what we call a callback. I mean,
- 36:00Speaker 2: good God. Like, let's just play this game. Let's just
- 36:03Speaker 2: get it over.
- 36:04Speaker 3: Just go there, win the game, get back on the plane,
- 36:08Speaker 3: and then get about our season.
- 36:10Speaker 2: Then go to the next game.
- 36:11Speaker 6: Yeah, against Texas A & M, a really good football team.
- 36:15Speaker 2: Oof.
- 36:20Speaker 3: I think I know how it's going to play out. Games,
- 36:24Speaker 3: we all know. Again, the Cardinals beat the Chargers.
- 36:27Speaker 2: It's football. We get that.
- 36:30Speaker 3: But if Ole Miss doesn't win this game, I wonder
- 36:35Speaker 3: what that looks like for them over the next couple
- 36:37Speaker 3: of weeks. Because I feel like they have put so
- 36:42Speaker 3: much into this one singular game. And I'm not going
- 36:45Speaker 3: to sit up here and act like LSU doesn't care
- 36:46Speaker 3: about this game. They probably care more about this Ole
- 36:49Speaker 3: Miss game than they've cared about Ole Miss in a
- 36:51Speaker 3: very long time.
- 36:54Speaker 2: Right?
- 36:54Speaker 3: When we played Ole Miss when we were in school,
- 36:56Speaker 3: it was a long time ago.
- 36:56Speaker 6: I get that. It was two decades ago. We didn't
- 36:58Speaker 6: care about Ole Miss. The only thing I cared about
- 37:02Speaker 6: really was where's Patrick Willis.
- 37:03Speaker 2: That was about it. All right?
- 37:05Speaker 3: There's been a long time where this, like it just,
- 37:08Speaker 3: it didn't, It didn't move the needle. It moves the
- 37:10Speaker 3: needle for LSU now more than maybe it ever has, right?
- 37:13Speaker 3: Maybe you go back to, like, Billy Cannon days.
- 37:16Speaker 2: I wasn't alive.
- 37:16Speaker 6: I don't know that.
- 37:17Speaker 2: But I get that.
- 37:18Speaker 6: I'm not saying it doesn't mean anything to LSU.
- 37:20Speaker 3: But Ole Miss is pushing everything they have into this game,
- 37:26Speaker 3: it feels like. And if they don't find a way
- 37:28Speaker 3: to win this game, what that looks like for the
- 37:31Speaker 3: next couple of weeks after that, that could be– It'd
- 37:35Speaker 3: be a.
- 37:35Speaker 2: Slippery slope for them. They're finally relevant, right?
- 37:37Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 37:38Speaker 2: They're finally relevant.
- 37:40Speaker 7: And they are the ones that tell you that they're
- 37:43Speaker 7: finally relevant for the first time. They put playoff appearance
- 37:47Speaker 7: on their stadium. They tattooed it.
- 37:49Speaker 2: On their stadium.
- 37:49Speaker 7: They put SEC West champions from 20 years ago. They
- 37:54Speaker 7: know that they're not relevant, and now they are. And
- 37:58Speaker 7: they were hurt.
- 37:59Speaker 2: I get it.
- 38:00Speaker 7: I understand the feelings, and they rightfully feel upset. LSU
- 38:04Speaker 7: would feel upset if the same thing happened to them
- 38:06Speaker 7: and their coach.
- 38:07Speaker 10: I don't know if I'd take it as far as
- 38:08Speaker 10: they're taking it.
- 38:10Speaker 6: Coach Saban, I know he didn't directly, but it was
- 38:12Speaker 6: not that likely.
- 38:13Speaker 2: If Saban would have directly gone to Alabama, 100%.
- 38:15Speaker 3: It wouldn't be like this. It would not be to
- 38:17Speaker 3: this extent. It just would not be. At least for me,
- 38:20Speaker 3: from my perspective.
- 38:21Speaker 2: I think you're lying to yourself.
- 38:23Speaker 6: You think so?
- 38:24Speaker 2: Yeah. I don't. I mean, he was there two years later.
- 38:27Speaker 2: We played against him. Yeah, but.
- 38:30Speaker 6: A short stop. A very short stop in the NFL.
- 38:32Speaker 2: Two seasons.
- 38:33Speaker 7: If Lane had gone to the Arizona Cardinals for two
- 38:36Speaker 7: years and then come to LSU two years from now,
- 38:38Speaker 7: they would not feel this way.
- 38:39Speaker 3: Matt, he hadn't been at Tennessee since Moby Dick was
- 38:41Speaker 3: a minnow and they were throwing golf balls and mustard
- 38:43Speaker 3: at him.
- 38:45Speaker 2: He was only there a year.
- 38:46Speaker 3: He has some uniqueness to the level in which people
- 38:50Speaker 3: don't like him right now.
- 38:52Speaker 2: I get that. And he hadn't been at Tennessee in
- 38:54Speaker 2: a long time. I'm just talking about the butt-heartedness.
- 38:57Speaker 6: I mean, look. I'm not telling you how to feel.
- 39:00Speaker 6: I'm just telling you how I think I would have felt.
- 39:02Speaker 3: I mean, it probably would have been more to your
- 39:06Speaker 3: point because you feel like, why would you leave here
- 39:08Speaker 3: to go there?
- 39:08Speaker 2: I get that.
- 39:10Speaker 11: That's the part that I don't get. So many people
- 39:12Speaker 11: are like, why would you leave Ole Miss? Guys, Alabama
- 39:15Speaker 11: OC to Florida Atlantic to Ole Miss to LSU. It
- 39:18Speaker 11: seems like a logical stepping stone jobs at this point. Like,
- 39:21Speaker 11: who out there would not leave Ole Miss and take
- 39:24Speaker 11: the LSU job?
- 39:24Speaker 2: If you say you're if you say no you're.
- 39:26Speaker 7: Lying again they put college playoff appearance on their stadium
- 39:30Speaker 7: and not just a banner we won't even put a
- 39:33Speaker 7: Heisman winner up there can't either one of them neither
- 39:39Speaker 7: one we won't even put a Heisman winner on the
- 39:41Speaker 7: stadium they put playoff.
- 39:42Speaker 2: Appearance appearance That's actually a really good point. Yeah, that
- 39:46Speaker 2: is right there. That's a step up.
- 39:48Speaker 3: They would have already had both Heisman winners, number retired,
- 39:51Speaker 3: up in the stadium.
- 39:52Speaker 7: They would have had a jersey, maybe on the side. No,
- 39:55Speaker 7: they would have had a statue 30 foot tall.
- 39:58Speaker 10: They're going to retire Trinidad's number next year.
- 40:01Speaker 2: Maybe. He might be playing for them now. He's not
- 40:05Speaker 2: on the team. He might be.
- 40:07Speaker 10: That's fair.
- 40:07Speaker 7: No one's going to wear that jersey number next year
- 40:09Speaker 7: because he'll be wearing it. I hate CNFL. I mean,
- 40:14Speaker 7: my God, he's ever hated it more. Anyway, you suck almost.
- 40:26Speaker 2: Yeah, you're good, but like you suck, right?
- 40:29Speaker 3: All right, let's take a break. We'll come back as
- 40:31Speaker 3: the world turns. That's exactly right here on OTB.

- 42:31Speaker 2: There we go. There we go. Got SPFs in this thing.
- 42:36Speaker 10: How many? How many SPFs?
- 42:38Speaker 2: Couple.
- 42:39Speaker 6: All of them.
- 42:40Speaker 2: Enough. Proof that, son.
- 42:43Speaker 10: I like this comment, too, and this idea.
- 42:44Speaker 5: Do we get the Prince Will money sign celebration after
- 42:47Speaker 5: the first sack?
- 42:48Speaker 6: I would love that.
- 42:49Speaker 10: That or like this.
- 42:52Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 42:52Speaker 2: Which one do we want?
- 42:54Speaker 6: Either or.
- 42:54Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 42:55Speaker 10: I like this better.
- 42:56Speaker 6: Make it rain.
- 42:56Speaker 2: Yeah, me too.
- 42:57Speaker 10: I like the make it rain better. Like if he
- 42:59Speaker 10: gets a stack, stands up, makes it rain.
- 43:01Speaker 6: Like Kenny Powers in Eastbound and Down.
- 43:03Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 43:04Speaker 2: Dollar bills. I want him to do it slow, though.
- 43:06Speaker 6: Yeah. Just like Kenny Powers.
- 43:09Speaker 2: You know what celebration I really like, and I don't
- 43:12Speaker 2: see it very often?
- 43:13Speaker 5: What?
- 43:13Speaker 2: Any type of bow. A bow is good. Just like
- 43:16Speaker 2: a bow? Or like sometimes they do like the karate bow.
- 43:21Speaker 10: I do like that.
- 43:22Speaker 2: I don't see it very often. I wonder how St.
- 43:23Speaker 2: Brown does that one. The bows are really good, though.
- 43:26Speaker 2: They don't show themselves very often, but when they do.
- 43:28Speaker 2: You know what I hate? Every DB celebration. Oh, my God.
- 43:32Speaker 2: They're awful. Seatbelts.
- 43:36Speaker 11: It's like, bud, you got burned by 10 yards. You
- 43:38Speaker 11: happened to drop the ball. The quarterback overthrows the ball.
- 43:41Speaker 2: He's square. Thumbs down. Not over here.
- 43:47Speaker 3: There was a Louisiana Tech defender that did the seatbelt
- 43:50Speaker 3: when they were down by four touchdowns.
- 43:52Speaker 2: I'm like, DBs? I got my guy.
- 43:54Speaker 3: And it's not Louisiana Tech's fault. LSU probably does it too.
- 43:57Speaker 3: Everybody does it. DBs, doesn't matter what the score is,
- 44:01Speaker 3: how many times they got burned, if they win a rep,
- 44:04Speaker 3: and I'm air quoting win a rep, Seat belt's coming out.
- 44:08Speaker 2: No doubt.
- 44:09Speaker 5: Mm-hmm.
- 44:11Speaker 2: DBs.
- 44:14Speaker 10: I do like when they do the arrow. I like
- 44:16Speaker 10: the arrow.
- 44:17Speaker 2: DBs do it?
- 44:19Speaker 7: Is there something that, is there a way to mime
- 44:25Speaker 7: getting served papers? That would be in a way like, hello,
- 44:28Speaker 7: here you go, sir. How do you do that?
- 44:30Speaker 2: That should be a celebration. You know how you lick
- 44:32Speaker 2: your finger and you go through it?
- 44:34Speaker 6: Mm-mm-mm-mm.
- 44:36Speaker 2: And serve them. That's what it is.
- 44:38Speaker 10: What if he just says, you've been served.
- 44:40Speaker 2: Because you've been served.
- 44:42Speaker 10: The little hop you did with him.
- 44:48Speaker 2: That'd be so great. If he could figure out how
- 44:50Speaker 2: to celebrate getting served papers.
- 44:54Speaker 6: I think I'd do it.
- 44:54Speaker 2: Maybe he runs over to the sideline.
- 44:56Speaker 6: You lick your finger, you sort through papers, and then
- 44:59Speaker 6: you hand them over.
- 45:00Speaker 10: Maybe put fake glasses on.
- 45:01Speaker 2: And then you go, the DB thing. Double thumbs down.
- 45:07Speaker 11: That'll show. The double thumbs down is going to put
- 45:10Speaker 11: them over the top.
- 45:10Speaker 2: It means business. Just don't put your fist up after
- 45:14Speaker 2: one's third down. Don't do that. Or when they get
- 45:17Speaker 2: the first down.
- 45:17Speaker 6: Or when you get the turnover on downs. It's actually
- 45:20Speaker 6: first down your way.
- 45:21Speaker 2: It's your ball.
- 45:23Speaker 3: I tell you what, though. I don't mind celebrating. I
- 45:26Speaker 3: actually kind of enjoy some of it.
- 45:28Speaker 2: I do love the celebration.
- 45:29Speaker 10: I love the celebration.
- 45:29Speaker 3: But I actually do love the discipline that it takes
- 45:32Speaker 3: in the offense this year.
- 45:33Speaker 6: Where they're like, you don't celebrate a first down. You
- 45:36Speaker 6: celebrate when you get into the end zone. That's the
- 45:39Speaker 6: rules on this team.
- 45:40Speaker 3: You don't have time. Get the ball. Get it to
- 45:42Speaker 3: the official. I don't want to see the first down stuff.
- 45:45Speaker 3: And then when you score, you can celebrate, and hell,
- 45:47Speaker 3: you can dunk a basketball when you get to the sideline.
- 45:50Speaker 2: I like it.
- 45:51Speaker 11: I got to tell you, we need some better basketball
- 45:52Speaker 11: players on the football team, too. I've seen at least
- 45:55Speaker 11: two guys.
- 45:55Speaker 2: Miss the dunk. Yeah.
- 45:57Speaker 6: Trades did go between the legs.
- 45:59Speaker 2: And basketball.
- 46:00Speaker 6: Landon Clark tried, and he almost got there.
- 46:02Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 46:03Speaker 10: Landon's was a little gingerly, too.
- 46:05Speaker 3: Pretty fly for a white guy, but you have to remember.
- 46:08Speaker 10: He looks a little ambiguous, actually.
- 46:10Speaker 2: White, but you're also white. Jordan Ross missed his first one.
- 46:13Speaker 2: You're a fly for a white guy. Yeah.
- 46:16Speaker 3: I mean, you know, you'll see John Stockton up there dunking.
- 46:20Speaker 2: You know what I mean? I made a whole movie
- 46:21Speaker 2: about it. Yeah. Shout out Woody Harrelson. Yeah, shout.
- 46:28Speaker 6: Out.
- 46:28Speaker 2: This is going to be so fun. They got quarterback
- 46:30Speaker 2: rankings later.
- 46:31Speaker 5: NFL.
- 46:31Speaker 2: You want to do them when we come back? We can.
- 46:34Speaker 6: Matt Flynn's top 10 NFL quarterbacks here on OTV.
- 46:38Speaker 10: Off the bench.
