- 0:27Polly Mertens: Hey superstars, welcome back.
- 0:28Polly Mertens: Polly here.
- 0:29Samantha Pruitt: And Sam Pruitt.
- 0:31Samantha Pruitt: What's up, beautiful humans?
- 0:32Samantha Pruitt: Let's go.
- 0:33Samantha Pruitt: Let's go.
- 0:35Samantha Pruitt: Okay, so we gotta bring the energy.
- 0:37Samantha Pruitt: Today is a oh dude.
- 0:38Samantha Pruitt: We are dropping the energy into the earbuds of said human.
- 0:43Samantha Pruitt: Hello, beautiful human.
- 0:44Samantha Pruitt: Welcome to this episode on energy medicine, which we are not experts at.
- 0:48Samantha Pruitt: So there's none of this, like you're hearing from two experts, but you're hearing from two people who are fascinated.
- 0:53Samantha Pruitt: And you've been students of, dude.
- 0:55Samantha Pruitt: And by the way, all of humanity is, but we are like the per we're the perfect pupils.
- 1:01Samantha Pruitt: And you know, we love sharing things on this podcast that either we're experiencing, like we talked about before we went on air.
- 1:07Samantha Pruitt: It's like, you know, we look at the ways that people aren't meeting their potential emotionally or physically or spiritually, right?
- 1:14Samantha Pruitt: And so this is an area that we continue to study to help people reach their potential, you know, to have awesome days, awesome life, right?
- 1:21Samantha Pruitt: And so you're like, what are we gonna, you know, I was like, what are we gonna talk about?
- 1:25Samantha Pruitt: And it's like energy medicine.
- 1:26Samantha Pruitt: You got a new book.
- 1:27Samantha Pruitt: So why are we why are we talking about this?
- 1:29Samantha Pruitt: What is this?
- 1:30Samantha Pruitt: Energy medicine by Jill Blakeway.
- 1:33Samantha Pruitt: Blakeway, okay, all right.
- 1:36Samantha Pruitt: So good, so good.
- 1:37Samantha Pruitt: Okay, well, first before we get into what the hell is energy medicine, because somebody might just go click, gotta go buy.
- 1:43Samantha Pruitt: Hopefully that's okay.
- 1:46Samantha Pruitt: So hold person, but you and I have our own experience finding energy medicine.
- 1:53Samantha Pruitt: I would say for me, it started probably in my late 20s.
- 1:59Samantha Pruitt: So that's a long time ago because I'd be 57 now.
- 2:03Samantha Pruitt: I'll just confess that on air.
- 2:05Samantha Pruitt: And it was through my own journey of illness, disease state, physical, mental breakdown, and then trying to heal the body.
- 2:15Samantha Pruitt: So looking at other non-Western ways for me to figure out a what was going wrong, why were things breaking down?
- 2:24Samantha Pruitt: And then what could I do about it?
- 2:26Samantha Pruitt: You know, and so I think a lot of people experience that over their lifetime.
- 2:30Samantha Pruitt: Well, we all will in some way, shape, or form, hopefully not in their 20s.
- 2:34Samantha Pruitt: But anyway, in part of my journey, I actually ended up not finding solutions in Western medicine, like I said.
- 2:41Samantha Pruitt: So going back to school and studying holistic health.
- 2:44Samantha Pruitt: So I went to the actual in San Diego, there's a c an institute, there's many of them around the US and globe for holistic health studies.
- 2:52Samantha Pruitt: So that's where I discovered other modalities, including energy medicine.
- 2:57Samantha Pruitt: And there's things that fall within that bucket, but for me, it was like, wait, what?
- 3:03Samantha Pruitt: So I learned about the body and how the body works, I all the systems of the body, and not just the physical systems within the body's structure, which is also freaking fascinating.
- 3:17Samantha Pruitt: And obviously, I'm obsessed with that shit, but also the emotional body and the spiritual body, right?
- 3:22Samantha Pruitt: The psychological body.
- 3:23Samantha Pruitt: So the different aspects of the thing called human and how they work together.
- 3:28Samantha Pruitt: And so this idea of the body being made of energy and being an energetic functioning, you know, multisystem thing in the universe, and then, of course, external energy around us, in our environments, in our society, in the globe, in nature, all of that kind of stuff, and how it all works together to create either harmon harmony, which is harmonious, you know, function, homeostasis is what we call it in the body, or dysfunction and disease.
- 4:02Samantha Pruitt: So I've been playing with it for a long time and practicing different modalities, and so have you.
- 4:07Samantha Pruitt: Recently, I kind of rediscovered it as I was doing more research for friends and family who have cancer diagnosis, and what could be some ways for them to navigate through the pain besides the drugs that are handed out, like candy, or even the, and I don't mean just the physical pain, the emotional pain too, and the spiritual pain of the process of dealing with the disease state.
- 4:32Samantha Pruitt: So that's kind of how I stumbled back into it.
- 4:36Samantha Pruitt: Well, and so you listen to this pod, and this gal lights you up.
- 4:38Samantha Pruitt: Like you just pick up books like they're candy, you know, and speaking of that, and so this got turned on.
- 4:43Samantha Pruitt: So, what how do we define energy medicine?
- 4:46Samantha Pruitt: Just so we can set a little bit of stage of what, you know, we can talk about energy like lighting up light bulbs or thunder or you know, EKGs and you know, places that you can sort of see it or experience it.
- 4:58Samantha Pruitt: But what is energy medicine?
- 4:59Samantha Pruitt: Mm-hmm.
- 5:00Samantha Pruitt: Mm-hmm.
- 5:01Samantha Pruitt: I mean, so energy management, let me give you kind of some examples that way people will be like, oh yeah, yeah, I know what they're talking about.
- 5:07Samantha Pruitt: So acupuncture, you know, which is a licensed practice, like it's you know, highly educated licensed practice.
- 5:14Samantha Pruitt: Regulated, woo-woo at all, very regulated.
- 5:17Samantha Pruitt: Pull that license, yeah.
- 5:18Samantha Pruitt: Yeah, a rekey, which is a type of energy work, even qigong, a lot of people are familiar with that.
- 5:24Samantha Pruitt: Those are certifications.
- 5:25Samantha Pruitt: So again, it's not somebody just you know magically pretending they know what they're doing.
- 5:29Samantha Pruitt: These are modalities that are, you know, educational, highly educated people doing these practices.
- 5:37Samantha Pruitt: Energy, what is energy and how does it relate to the body in terms of medicine?
- 5:42Samantha Pruitt: Well, it's all of the things that need to be understood, and we'll just call them managed, if you will, in the body that are non-bone, non-tissue, non-organs of the body and brain.
- 5:56Samantha Pruitt: So it's everything else, which is really the systems that allow those things to actually even exist and function.
- 6:04Samantha Pruitt: You know, it's so primal.
- 6:06Samantha Pruitt: So it's the cellular intelligence, communication, and feedback pathway inside the human body.
- 6:14Samantha Pruitt: Well, and I would say I don't subscribe to it, it's only inside the human body either.
- 6:19Samantha Pruitt: Well, it I say it interacts with the energy field outside, also.
- 6:24Samantha Pruitt: So, but we're talking today about energy medicine.
- 6:28Samantha Pruitt: Yeah.
- 6:28Samantha Pruitt: So it would be how the human could get a better functioning vehicle.
- 6:33Samantha Pruitt: You know, we're just all like being transported in this vehicle.
- 6:36Samantha Pruitt: We we got dropped into this by, you know, however you, whatever your belief system is, and now we're just moving around in space in this thing.
- 6:45Samantha Pruitt: We're not machines, though, right?
- 6:48Samantha Pruitt: The body is made up of cells, of neurons, of mitochondria, a circulatory system, a respir, respiratory system, all of these cellular and circulatory and breath systems of the body that are at play.
- 7:01Samantha Pruitt: And what allows those things to be at play and thrive ideally is energy.
- 7:08Samantha Pruitt: It's kind of wild and super freaking cool.
- 7:13Samantha Pruitt: Anyway, that was a long answer to your question.
- 7:15Samantha Pruitt: Yeah, and I I think I want to add to that one of the pods that I was listening to with a fascinating guy who's like Mr.
- 7:21Samantha Pruitt: Mitochondria is how he described it was like, you know, it's it's not the body, because if you think of a cadaver or a dead body, right?
- 7:30Samantha Pruitt: Like it's got all that stuff, like right when it dies.
- 7:33Samantha Pruitt: Like the cells are there, the flesh is there, the organs are right there, like all that stuff is right there, but yet there's no life, right?
- 7:41Samantha Pruitt: And so energy is what gives that body, those cells, all of it, life.
- 7:46Samantha Pruitt: And I like that.
- 7:47Samantha Pruitt: I was like, oh, I it's like this new dimension of medicine, this you know, almost like the unseen, you know, you can measure it at times, and sometimes you can't measure it, right?
- 7:57Samantha Pruitt: But it's what's sort of adding to what you can see as well.
- 8:02Samantha Pruitt: And like you said, you don't know what mitochondria is.
- 8:06Samantha Pruitt: Yeah, oh yeah, well, that's a whole unpack that for a minute.
- 8:10Samantha Pruitt: Yeah, just learn what the mitochondria is.
- 8:13Samantha Pruitt: Okay, just start at that's a whole episode, right?
- 8:16Samantha Pruitt: Well, tell them just like a little bit, just like yeah, yeah, super snapshot just to get people maybe interested if they're having heard of the term, right?
- 8:23Samantha Pruitt: Is like oh it's hard to give a snapshot, but basically what what we used to learn in biology class or whatever, physical science, depending on what you took in school and at whatever level, but at the most rudimentary level, what we would learn is that it was the energy cell within the body.
- 8:42Samantha Pruitt: So it inside this little mitochondria is where energy or ATP would be generated and that would serve as an energy source to make the body work to keep us alive and moving.
- 8:56Samantha Pruitt: Now we know that it does much more than that, and it actually is really root, root, root, root cause of like disease and dysfunction within the body.
- 9:09Samantha Pruitt: If we don't have enough mitochondria, if we have damaged mitochondria, if we have dysfunctional mitochondria, literally it creates disease within the body.
- 9:22Samantha Pruitt: Things just start breaking down, then they break down relatively quickly.
- 9:25Samantha Pruitt: But what people tend to think back in the old science was like, well, if I'm an athlete or I'm trying to do an activity or an exercise, I need to have ATP.
- 9:36Samantha Pruitt: So I need to have my mitochondria fed, watered, and functioning.
- 9:41Samantha Pruitt: But it was like, okay, well, they're in the body and you get what you get, and you know, you need to feed and water them.
- 9:47Samantha Pruitt: That's BS.
- 9:48Samantha Pruitt: It's like having all tomatoes in your tomato garden, you know, and whatever you got from the seeds is all you're ever going to get.
- 9:56Polly Mertens: Wow.
- 9:57Samantha Pruitt: They you can generate more, they can die.
- 9:59Samantha Pruitt: Like I said, they can become damaged.
- 10:01Samantha Pruitt: So it's much more complex than that.
- 10:02Samantha Pruitt: But they're at the root or their dysfunction is the root of most disease states.
- 10:08Samantha Pruitt: Yeah, it's attributable, they say, to even like mental disease, like Alzheimer's, Alzheimer's, yeah, stuff like that.
- 10:13Samantha Pruitt: I just wanted to say one thing that I picked up on that other pod was they said that they're so important that, you know, when you think about like FBI agents or CIA, you know, and they're in the field or spies and like to die and not get kidnapped or something like that, they take cyanide.
- 10:29Samantha Pruitt: Well, what cyanide is it's toxicity to mitochondria.
- 10:32Samantha Pruitt: Like it kills the mitochondria and you're dead within seconds.
- 10:35Samantha Pruitt: Like that's how critical this stuff is.
- 10:37Samantha Pruitt: So, okay.
- 10:39Samantha Pruitt: Well, and the good news, not to depress people about mitochondria, is that you can through exercise, nutrition, and lifestyle choices, which are all available to any and all of us, you can generate more, you can generate more health within them, you can get higher functioning.
- 10:57Samantha Pruitt: Like it's totally very reasonable to turn around the state of your mitochondria relatively quickly.
- 11:02Samantha Pruitt: So, anyway, I wanted to just leave them on a positive note when you drop the cyanide bomb.
- 11:07Samantha Pruitt: Well, I just want to, I was just giving a whoa-pam, you know, like how important they are.
- 11:12Samantha Pruitt: They're pretty damn important, life or death.
- 11:14Samantha Pruitt: Yeah, but right, right.
- 11:15Samantha Pruitt: Okay.
- 11:15Samantha Pruitt: Another thing about energy medicine is like for decades and decades, the these things have been studied in you know, major institutions of learning and also medical facilities all around the globe.
- 11:30Samantha Pruitt: Yeah, I was gonna say, and it goes way back before there were even medical institutions, you know.
- 11:34Samantha Pruitt: I mean, well, I mean the study of it, like the study itself.
- 11:37Samantha Pruitt: We'll talk about the different practices.
- 11:39Samantha Pruitt: I have a whole list of them from different histories and cultures, but like it's cool shit.
- 11:45Samantha Pruitt: People who are like higher education interested, like this is a whole path of study, and it's been going on for a long time.
- 11:52Samantha Pruitt: If you're interested in this kind of stuff, like you can get behind this work, and lots and lots and lots of people are because we're looking for other non-traditional old school solutions to the exploding you know health crisis.
- 12:06Samantha Pruitt: Yeah, yeah.
- 12:07Samantha Pruitt: We have epidemic after epidemic after epidemic of health crisis globally, and so thank God people and institutions are looking for solutions beyond more pharmaceuticals.
- 12:20Samantha Pruitt: Yep.
- 12:21Samantha Pruitt: All right, so tell us some of those.
- 12:22Samantha Pruitt: What have what we have?
- 12:23Samantha Pruitt: Oh my god.
- 12:24Samantha Pruitt: So wait, let's talk about the history, yeah, cultural history of energy medicine.
- 12:28Samantha Pruitt: So qi is the term in China for energy.
- 12:33Samantha Pruitt: So acupuncture, Tai Chi, q qigong, those are all forms that have been practiced in China for thousands.
- 12:41Samantha Pruitt: Literally, yeah.
- 12:42Samantha Pruitt: I mean, come on, beyond thousands of years.
- 12:45Samantha Pruitt: Like this has just been at the core of how they practice life, right?
- 12:50Samantha Pruitt: Um in India, it's Ayurvedic medicine or Ayurveda, which is pranic, pranic breath and sound healing.
- 12:57Samantha Pruitt: They've been practicing that again since the beginning of time.
- 13:00Samantha Pruitt: Actually, even in Christianity, they call it the breath of life.
- 13:04Samantha Pruitt: So I'm not an expert in Christianity, but lots of people are, and they'll know about hands-on healing and breath work in Christianity.
- 13:13Samantha Pruitt: In Japan, it's a reike jin shin jitsu.
- 13:19Samantha Pruitt: I have had that work and that shit blew my mind.
- 13:26Samantha Pruitt: I was like, what in the hell?
- 13:28Samantha Pruitt: And this is many, many years ago now, but that was one that was new to me.
- 13:32Samantha Pruitt: And I found a practitioner actually, not far from where you live, that is incredibly talented in this area.
- 13:39Samantha Pruitt: I just loved that work.
- 13:41Samantha Pruitt: Wow.
- 13:41Samantha Pruitt: Is it handwork?
- 13:42Samantha Pruitt: Like, is it like like massage or what is that like?
- 13:50Samantha Pruitt: And there's a whole protocol.
- 13:51Samantha Pruitt: I mean, each session would be like two hours, and that's not normally, you know.
- 13:55Samantha Pruitt: I've had acupuncture.
- 13:56Samantha Pruitt: I pretty much have had most of these at some point, not necessarily all of them, especially in their native experience, but you know, you can find them in the US now.
- 14:06Samantha Pruitt: I would love to go to other countries and try some of this stuff, but I've practiced Ayurveda.
- 14:10Samantha Pruitt: I actually studied that for a while.
- 14:12Samantha Pruitt: Yeah, I mean, this is just cool stuff.
- 14:15Samantha Pruitt: Okay, this other one's really interesting.
- 14:17Samantha Pruitt: It's called the pneumonia theory.
- 14:18Samantha Pruitt: So this is from Greece, and it is an energy practice around breath and the spirit or the life force in the body.
- 14:27Samantha Pruitt: And they believe that pneumonia, which is so interesting because now we think of pneumonia as a disease of the lungs, was actually the life force within the body.
- 14:36Samantha Pruitt: So that's where that word comes from.
- 14:38Samantha Pruitt: We took it and we westernized it and made it a disease state of the lungs.
- 14:42Samantha Pruitt: Don't ask me how that happened because I didn't have time to research that.
- 14:46Samantha Pruitt: But they saw that as the life force or the energy force of the body.
- 14:50Samantha Pruitt: In Egypt, this is a new one I wasn't familiar with it, but it is hands-on healing, and it's called Sekham, S-E-K-H-E-M.
- 14:58Samantha Pruitt: Again, they've been doing it since the beginning of mankind civilization in Egypt, hands-on healing.
- 15:04Samantha Pruitt: And then, of course, Native American, you know, we are all familiar with like, or I hope we are, the fact they use nature, prayer, chanting, and song.
- 15:13Samantha Pruitt: But additionally, the Cherokees had a body work or still have a body of work that involves rocking, sweeping, and massage to again clear the negative or the problematic, you know, spirit out of the body and bring about healing.
- 15:31Samantha Pruitt: I'm sure there are many, many others.
- 15:34Samantha Pruitt: That's just like high-level kind of what has historically happened, but this is not a new thing to mankind.
- 15:42Samantha Pruitt: It's new in the Western world, and that's why we create these ridiculous labels like woo-woo, whatever.
- 15:49Samantha Pruitt: There's nothing woo-woo about it.
- 15:50Samantha Pruitt: Well, and sometimes, you know, the way to look at it is like, is it really new to the Western world?
- 15:54Samantha Pruitt: Probably not.
- 15:55Samantha Pruitt: It's just we're like things can be going on and you we're just not aware of it, right?
- 16:01Samantha Pruitt: So, like, you know, that's like when I wake up to Buddhism's been practiced in the United States for a long time, you know, but it's like, oh, I just feel like it's come.
- 16:09Samantha Pruitt: I'm like, oh, Buddhism's on a rise.
- 16:11Samantha Pruitt: It's like, uh, no, sorry, you're just waking up to, you know, or like qi gong or whatever, you know, it's like, nope, they haven't, you know, because I remember when I was in San Francisco as a young girl and seeing qigong being done in San Francisco parks, you know, like Golden Gate Park and stuff like that.
- 16:27Samantha Pruitt: And I was just like, oh, that's cool, different, whatever.
- 16:30Samantha Pruitt: Those people had been doing, they look like they had been doing that for all their life, you know, like you talked about Chinese masters and stuff like that.
- 16:37Samantha Pruitt: So, you know, just because it hasn't hit my radar, our radar, doesn't mean, like you said, it's it's been around.
- 16:43Samantha Pruitt: We're just, you know, getting more conscious, I would say.
- 16:46Samantha Pruitt: So yeah.
- 16:47Samantha Pruitt: And in the Western sort of traditional way that we look at the body and disease and healing and all of that kind of stuff.
- 16:54Samantha Pruitt: Luckily, we have incorporated some, I don't really want to call them practices.
- 16:59Samantha Pruitt: It's more like utilizing devices, because we love our devices, to take these, take the scientific evidence of, oh, the body is energy.
- 17:10Samantha Pruitt: And so therefore, if something needs to be healing or is diseased or dysfunctioned, we should change the energy.
- 17:17Samantha Pruitt: So, ways that people might already be experiencing this is through light therapy, right?
- 17:22Samantha Pruitt: That's pretty common practice now, electrical stimulus therapy.
- 17:25Samantha Pruitt: So anyone who has had or and laser therapy, um injuries of the bone of the soft tissue, we're using laser therapy all the time to treat these in PT.
- 17:35Samantha Pruitt: I was gonna say, like last night I had patch, I had electromagnetic on my back, you know, working on a muscle.
- 17:41Samantha Pruitt: And then you remind me, my favorite thing when I go to my PT is he has oh what he has ultrasound.
- 17:47Samantha Pruitt: So, like to break up tissue and stuff like that, he just rubs this little wand, and and I'm like, I don't even know what's doing.
- 17:53Samantha Pruitt: Gets a little warm here, you know, so it moves around or whatever.
- 17:55Samantha Pruitt: But boy, does it feel better, you know?
- 17:58Samantha Pruitt: It's like, yes, sir.
- 17:59Samantha Pruitt: So exactly, dude.
- 18:01Samantha Pruitt: Ultrasound, radiation therapy, red light therapy.
- 18:04Samantha Pruitt: One of my favorites that has blown me away as an athletic person, you know, since I was whatever, late 20s, 30, is when I found acupuncture, and then I found a really good one, and she did electrical stimulus acupuncture.
- 18:17Samantha Pruitt: And I can't tell you how many injuries, because I was so injury prone for the first like 10 years, I was just busting everything in my trathlon days, were healed from this.
- 18:30Samantha Pruitt: I didn't I did nothing else.
- 18:32Samantha Pruitt: So I I know that that's what it was, right?
- 18:35Samantha Pruitt: Besides rest, recovery, nutrition, right?
- 18:37Samantha Pruitt: But it's where the electrical stimulus was attached to the needles and then a pulse was sent through those meridians, through those needles into the muscle belly itself.
- 18:47Samantha Pruitt: If you have never had that, that is mind-blowing.
- 18:51Samantha Pruitt: And I mean it's it's remarkable.
- 18:55Samantha Pruitt: Yeah.
- 18:56Samantha Pruitt: So there it's it is being used.
- 18:58Samantha Pruitt: I mean, we're acting like it's some, you know, thing that nobody, but yeah, it's out there.
- 19:03Samantha Pruitt: Y'all using it, you just didn't know it was energy work.
- 19:07Samantha Pruitt: And I think, you know, even I was listening, like I said, I keep referring to this one podcast because I was just so fascinated by these two Western seeming, you know, one was functional medicine, so not Western, but you know, a doctor, and you'd classically see him as a doctor, if you will.
- 19:22Samantha Pruitt: And this superagent guy on mitochondria.
- 19:25Samantha Pruitt: And it was like they're both so feel like they're on the cutting edge.
- 19:29Samantha Pruitt: Like this whole area is just expanding, not exploding, but is, you know, it's like the awakening of, I think, our greater consciousness as a human spirit, if you will.
- 19:40Samantha Pruitt: And then that's we're turning that energy towards well, this body is not what we thought it was, you know, or before and before.
- 19:47Samantha Pruitt: So what we're talking about here is like you said, like we know a little bit of it, we're using it maybe on an injury or whatever, but like as we, I think over the next 20 years or plus, the things that we are going to discover and connect, you know, like there's knowing, like it was interesting.
- 20:03Samantha Pruitt: The functional medicine doctor, he said he wrote a book and it was like mind energy healing or something.
- 20:08Samantha Pruitt: And he's like, the things he was talking about, this new doctor who was newer that he had on his pod about mitochondria, was doing the research that he 30 years ago knew in his body.
- 20:20Samantha Pruitt: Like he was like, I saw it in my patients, I knew it was there, I knew there was something to this, but he just didn't have the, you know, the the the funding or whatever, the research.
- 20:29Samantha Pruitt: And now it's emerging.
- 20:31Samantha Pruitt: Like it's how he's like, I'm you're confirming things that I knew.
- 20:34Samantha Pruitt: And I'm sure that's a lot of practitioners over the years, if they're intuitive and paying attention, right?
- 20:39Samantha Pruitt: Have totally attest to.
- 20:42Samantha Pruitt: Totally.
- 20:42Samantha Pruitt: And in Jill's book, she talks specifically.
- 20:46Samantha Pruitt: Well, initially she works with people in hospice and the whole end of life, and then she works with birthing women in hospital setting, and then with cancer patients, and has not only her own experiments, but like there's large-scale experiments happening in all of these fields now, but in particular, cancer I was interested in because I have loved ones, you know, in this battle up to their ass and alligators with this.
- 21:13Samantha Pruitt: And the science, the research that's coming out of just cancer alone is mind-blowing.
- 21:22Samantha Pruitt: So, just to give some examples without going into the depth, but there's so many studies, just Google this stuff.
- 21:28Samantha Pruitt: They're taking, well, they of course in a lap setting generally they're using mice and rats, right?
- 21:34Samantha Pruitt: So they do experiments with that quite a bit initially.
- 21:37Samantha Pruitt: And they show giving energetic treatments, they put cancer into the rats, I'm sorry, in the mice, right?
- 21:45Samantha Pruitt: In some and then not in others, and in varying degrees and all that stuff.
- 21:49Samantha Pruitt: But they do treatment, energy treatments in one set of the rats and animals, right?
- 21:55Samantha Pruitt: And not in the others.
- 21:57Samantha Pruitt: And literally the numbers, I mean, it's like 80 to 90 percent of the mice, rats that were treated with energy, the actual cancer goes into remission.
- 22:07Samantha Pruitt: And then of course, in the non in the other group, nothing happens.
- 22:11Samantha Pruitt: And then they do all different versions of this type of research and study and ex and experiment, and then they do the Same thing with cells.
- 22:20Samantha Pruitt: Just you petri dishes, just putting cells in there, you know, cancero cells, all these different types of cells, and they experiment and they see, literally watch the cells change.
- 22:30Samantha Pruitt: I mean, before their freaking eyes, right?
- 22:32Samantha Pruitt: And then monitor the energy coming off the cells to see how that changes.
- 22:37Samantha Pruitt: It's at the basic, basic level, like this is all being proven out.
- 22:43Samantha Pruitt: What people for years speculated may or may not be a thing.
- 22:47Samantha Pruitt: So if you know that you have the power to change the cells in your body, and ultimately that's what we're going to talk about today, change your own energy, why would you not be doing that?
- 22:56Samantha Pruitt: You don't need the hands of a practitioner.
- 22:59Samantha Pruitt: Yes, you can find these people, and we're talking about all these different modalities that exist and are available, but you can also turn upon yourself and your own body's wisdom to change yourself on a cellular level.
- 23:12Samantha Pruitt: So giving you the power back, you know, and when I was listening to the case, when I was listening to the podcast that you shared with me, the gal was like, Yeah, anybody can learn this.
- 23:20Samantha Pruitt: She's like, Yeah, you just you learn how to do this.
- 23:22Samantha Pruitt: And it's not like a device that you have to like buy or, you know, some big machine that only some certified whatever guru has.
- 23:31Samantha Pruitt: It's like, no, it's, and I haven't learned the techniques or whatever, but I have a feeling a little bit like Reiki and a little bit like the healing modalities that I've ever heard of.
- 23:40Samantha Pruitt: You know, it's using your mind, your intention to, you know, Qigong is like working with the energy in the body, not only through the movement, but also the sort of like the intuitive movement of it, right?
- 23:51Samantha Pruitt: So it's like putting your attention and your focus, you know, like these people were like, they put their hands one on top of another, and it's one person would say, like, put energy out from one hand, and the other person would let them know when they received it, you know, just like that, like yeah, there was no machine there, right?
- 24:09Samantha Pruitt: And so these mice, like you're talking about, these graduate students who were doing these tests were doing energy work like intention and that type of thought work, not like they grabbed a machine and radiated or something like that.
- 24:22Samantha Pruitt: Quite the opposite, right?
- 24:24Samantha Pruitt: And I just wanted to add to what you said, because I this was like fucking cool for me, that those experiences that you're talking about.
- 24:30Samantha Pruitt: It's like, and by the way, those poor little mice that you know had the treatment and didn't, you know, the cancer didn't progress and develop, they were immune to it.
- 24:40Samantha Pruitt: Like it, they couldn't get it again.
- 24:43Samantha Pruitt: It was like, oh dang.
- 24:44Samantha Pruitt: And I don't, you know, I don't know.
- 24:46Samantha Pruitt: Some people, I'm I checked in with my intuition and I would never do chemotherapy.
- 24:50Samantha Pruitt: That's what my body's telling me.
- 24:52Samantha Pruitt: And I heard them say that if you do chemotherapy, it makes the some of these treatments not work.
- 24:59Samantha Pruitt: Like it does, it doesn't, the body, once it's had chemotherapy, it doesn't respond.
- 25:03Samantha Pruitt: In this particular one example that she was giving.
- 25:06Samantha Pruitt: So just sharing that.
- 25:08Samantha Pruitt: Yeah, there's different opinions about that based on lots of other things.
- 25:12Samantha Pruitt: But this one primary practitioner who started this whole thing, and I forgot his name off the top of my head, but he was anti-chemo.
- 25:20Samantha Pruitt: I mean, we don't want to put that out there to people.
- 25:22Samantha Pruitt: People can make their own choices, but there's lots of ways to okay, think about it.
- 25:27Samantha Pruitt: The food that you put into your body, the oxygen that you put into your body, those are the two primary ways we think of fueling the body energetically, right?
- 25:37Samantha Pruitt: So there's an energy coming into the body that would then create a healthy cell that could function and allow us to do all the things, including like create an organ, rebuild the muscle in the tissue, make the brain function.
- 25:54Samantha Pruitt: So why would it be any different that another type of energy input or a regulation in the body as a type of blocked or dysfunctional energy or flowing energy would be an energy source?
- 26:10Samantha Pruitt: It just makes sense.
- 26:11Samantha Pruitt: Like it's not, doesn't seem all that complicated that we have no one would resist this idea.
- 26:20Samantha Pruitt: Yeah.
- 26:20Samantha Pruitt: I want to add something here because it helped me visually see this because we're talking about this energy thing, and it's like, oh, this field, or like, what are we talking about?
- 26:28Samantha Pruitt: When they described it a little bit, and this is rudimentary, but like this one gal said, like you have you know, you talked about meridians, right?
- 26:37Samantha Pruitt: And you have channels in the body.
- 26:39Samantha Pruitt: And I think the way she described it was like, like, think of like piping, right?
- 26:43Samantha Pruitt: So if you have like a gas pipe, right?
- 26:45Samantha Pruitt: And if it gets plugged or an electric, you know, current, whatever, a wire, your router, whatever, if if it gets plugged or stopped up or crimped or something, then it stops flowing.
- 26:58Samantha Pruitt: Things energy gets backed up, if you will.
- 27:00Samantha Pruitt: And then so you have a little bit of like backup of energy on one side of the crimp, and then like a desert.
- 27:05Samantha Pruitt: So, like, you know, like if it was water flowing through, there'd be a flood or a dam here, and the other side would be like an oasis, and that's where the energy isn't equally getting to all the parts.
- 27:15Samantha Pruitt: And so energy medicine is to unblock those natural flowing mitochondria, nervous system, you know, everything moving within the body.
- 27:24Samantha Pruitt: And that just really helped me see.
- 27:26Samantha Pruitt: Ah, and I, you know, I don't have to see the pipes or where they are or whatever, but you know, and we talk nobody can see their circulatory blood system, nobody can see any of the other the lymphatic system, any of the other pathways in the body.
- 27:40Samantha Pruitt: We can't see that shit, but we trust that it's there and it serves to allow full function of the body.
- 27:46Samantha Pruitt: This is no different.
- 27:49Samantha Pruitt: Exactly.
- 27:49Samantha Pruitt: Exactly.
- 27:51Samantha Pruitt: Crazy, huh?
- 27:51Samantha Pruitt: How does it work?
- 27:53Samantha Pruitt: I have no idea.
- 27:54Samantha Pruitt: What are you talking about?
- 27:55Samantha Pruitt: You don't have the answers here.
- 27:57Samantha Pruitt: Oh my god.
- 27:58Samantha Pruitt: So Jill Blake Wade describes some things around she's an acupuncturist, so it, you know, that is qi energy in the body.
- 28:07Samantha Pruitt: This is uh traditional Chinese medicine, which is freaking ancient.
- 28:11Samantha Pruitt: And she talks specifically about the brain-heart coherence as a frequency and resonance, so an energy matching, if you will.
- 28:20Samantha Pruitt: So the practitioner or the wherever the energy is coming from.
- 28:24Samantha Pruitt: Um, in this case, I'm talking about practitioners, but I'll talk about a few other ways you can get energy recalibrated in your body.
- 28:31Samantha Pruitt: Her heart and cardiovascular system, so the beating of her heart, the rhythm of her body, if you will, being a frequency of energy, and then syncing that with the patient, the person that she's working with.
- 28:46Samantha Pruitt: That is resonance, or you know, she calls it specifically brainheart coherence, right?
- 28:53Samantha Pruitt: So creating a shared energy and then recalibrating the energy within the other person.
- 28:59Samantha Pruitt: Now, we do this all the freaking time.
- 29:03Samantha Pruitt: You and I are doing it right now, even though we're not in the same room.
- 29:06Samantha Pruitt: We are matching energy through our own conversation and interaction with each other in completely different places.
- 29:15Samantha Pruitt: You know, you're hundreds of miles away from me.
- 29:17Samantha Pruitt: But people can think about this, you know, when the cat comes into the room and like sits on your lap, and all of a sudden you have created a resonance with the cat.
- 29:26Samantha Pruitt: Like you and the cat are purring, and your heart rate is now the same, and you're breathing the same, and you're getting in sync with your animal.
- 29:34Samantha Pruitt: Lots of people do this.
- 29:35Samantha Pruitt: That's why animals are so freaking healing.
- 29:37Samantha Pruitt: You can do that with another person, you can do that with nature.
- 29:41Samantha Pruitt: I just experienced this on the John Muir Trail for 20 freaking days.
- 29:45Samantha Pruitt: Okay.
- 29:45Samantha Pruitt: I got so connected and integrated into the rhythm and the energy of the land, of the trees, of the animals, of the sun and the oxygen.
- 29:58Samantha Pruitt: Like I was in full resonance, is what the term is called with nature.
- 30:04Samantha Pruitt: And that's why I came out a completely different person.
- 30:08Samantha Pruitt: But we all have this like available to us, and that alone, because of that's free, as long as you have awareness and you're going after residence or an energy that's healing, it's free, it's available to all of us.
- 30:23Samantha Pruitt: So I want to just point out the obvious like go get the cat and start like you know, making it happen with the cat, whatever.
- 30:31Samantha Pruitt: Nature.
- 30:32Samantha Pruitt: What do you think about that?
- 30:34Samantha Pruitt: Well, I'll just double-click on that because the work that you're talking about, where you mentioned this gal referred to, I heard her in that podcast, is something I've been studying for years.
- 30:41Samantha Pruitt: So Joe Dispenza and Greg Braden are part of the Heart Math Institute, right?
- 30:46Samantha Pruitt: And so they teach that heart brain coherence.
- 30:48Samantha Pruitt: They've been teaching that, and that's what I've been doing in my morning meditations for many, many years, right?
- 30:54Samantha Pruitt: And so it's so what you know, and I forgot, I get them backwards, like which is the magnet, which but EEG and EKG, you know, your heart and your brain.
- 31:03Samantha Pruitt: And they show, like you can see if you study this heart brain coherence, and there's great, you know, pictures of this when your brain and heart, so your heart, like think of like a rhythm of a heart, like like you know, you think of some person in the hospital, it's like beep, beep, beep, beep, right?
- 31:17Samantha Pruitt: Like, so that's you know, and that can go different.
- 31:19Samantha Pruitt: You start hiking up a hill, the beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, you know, or death is like beep.
- 31:24Samantha Pruitt: So that's where we can measure that.
- 31:27Samantha Pruitt: Well, you can also measure the brain waves, right?
- 31:29Samantha Pruitt: And so your brain on kitty time is very beep, beep, beep, beep, you know, it's like or meditation time.
- 31:37Samantha Pruitt: Yeah, trance-like, you know, chilling out, you know, whatever.
- 31:40Samantha Pruitt: Or if you're in peak go mode or I'm late for the plane, or you know, think of your favorite stress moment.
- 31:48Samantha Pruitt: That frequency in the brain when you measure is right.
- 31:52Samantha Pruitt: And so when the brain and the heart are not in coherence, they're not talking to each other, that's creates that friction.
- 31:58Samantha Pruitt: I think that's, if you ask me, is what creates this kind of stress state in the body, right?
- 32:04Samantha Pruitt: And so they teach you, and there's wonderful, you know, when I was learning hypnotherapy, there's biofeedback, right?
- 32:10Samantha Pruitt: You can teach yourself how to get those beeps, like literally, there's machines that can watch your brain and heart, and you can get them in trance together, right?
- 32:19Samantha Pruitt: Like you talk about like a metronome, whatever.
- 32:21Samantha Pruitt: It's your heart and brain.
- 32:23Samantha Pruitt: Doesn't take very long, by the way.
- 32:24Samantha Pruitt: Like I do this every morning.
- 32:26Samantha Pruitt: It's, you know, it's basically get into gratitude.
- 32:29Samantha Pruitt: That's how we do it.
- 32:29Samantha Pruitt: And I love what you were talking about with the kitty cat because I think about this.
- 32:32Samantha Pruitt: I'm like, yeah, I intentionally, like I was just sitting with my kitty this morning, and I could tell he's he's kind of anxious, he's got hyperthyroidism right now, so he's just amped up most of the time, and he tends to be a nervous kitty to begin with.
- 32:46Samantha Pruitt: So I'll just hold him, you know, for his sake and for mine, and we get into a coherence, you know.
- 32:52Samantha Pruitt: And anyway, so right on with you with all of that.
- 32:56Samantha Pruitt: And what I don't know, like I've never practiced this with another person, like in the world of Reiki or been a practitioner.
- 33:03Samantha Pruitt: I do know, I'll tell you this, when I was a hypnotherapist, one thing that I noticed, because I didn't do it for like 20 years or something, but over time I actually started to notice because I'm watching people's breath as I'm taking them under, you know, as they're going into so I'm watching their their whole everything, you know, like like to see trance-like state come about.
- 33:25Samantha Pruitt: And I would notice, I would get in rhythm with them, and it's almost like we would both be in hypnosis.
- 33:33Samantha Pruitt: I would be grinding it, right?
- 33:34Samantha Pruitt: But it was amazing how I would find myself, it's it's hard to describe.
- 33:40Samantha Pruitt: It's like because I did a lot of visioning hypnosis as well.
- 33:42Samantha Pruitt: Like I would take people on little journeys with their healing as because I knew how their brain would react to that and stuff.
- 33:49Samantha Pruitt: And so I would be like in this imagination world with them.
- 33:53Samantha Pruitt: We both have our eyes closed at times.
- 33:56Samantha Pruitt: I mean, I was watching them, but and then I would take them on this journey and like we'd be in this heart coherence, and I could move them through states of taking them from fear into well-being and and whatnot.
- 34:07Samantha Pruitt: And we would definitely be, like you said, like our hearts.
- 34:11Samantha Pruitt: I would I wouldn't be right on top of them.
- 34:12Samantha Pruitt: You know, I was sitting in a chair and they weren't sitting theres, but we would go into that state, like you're talking about.
- 34:17Samantha Pruitt: So it's a form of which is a shared vibration, right?
- 34:21Samantha Pruitt: If you think of energy as a vibrational, you know, yeah thing, that's kind of how a lot of people relate to energy.
- 34:29Samantha Pruitt: Outside of the body, that's why I was shared talking about is like, you know, and you know, this whole I mean co-location, I mean, you know, two things, the same thing, two cells can be in totally different parts of the world and they can talk to each other and all that stuff.
- 34:42Samantha Pruitt: It's like, yeah, we think that like you and I and you know, different parts of California, like that's so far.
- 34:48Samantha Pruitt: It's nothing for frequency, right?
- 34:51Samantha Pruitt: Nothing.
- 34:52Samantha Pruitt: It's nothing, and that's such a cool description that you were giving about hypnosis.
- 34:58Samantha Pruitt: And Jill talks about it in relationship to acupuncture in her own practice, and she really just didn't believe forever.
- 35:05Samantha Pruitt: That's why she researched this.
- 35:06Samantha Pruitt: Like, I don't understand what's happening, right?
- 35:08Samantha Pruitt: And she basically describes for herself that she has to kind of remove herself, like any ego or ideas or anything she has.
- 35:17Samantha Pruitt: She empties herself, she said.
- 35:18Samantha Pruitt: Yeah, right.
- 35:19Samantha Pruitt: So she becomes this empty vessel.
- 35:21Samantha Pruitt: Like you're kind of describing the same thing, and then the energy takes the space, and then you have this shared energy.
- 35:29Samantha Pruitt: Well, that does happen all the time between human beings.
- 35:32Samantha Pruitt: You and I coach humans, right?
- 35:34Samantha Pruitt: So we don't come into a space, we create a space with intention, but we don't come into a space with some chaotic, strange, egotistical energy around what the hell is going to happen in this session, right?
- 35:47Samantha Pruitt: Like that would be the completely counter energy to any sort of progress or healing for the other person.
- 35:53Samantha Pruitt: A, we have to meet them where they're at, and then we have to try and create an energy that is safe and feels rhythmic or has this coherence so people can then open themselves to the possibility of something new, healing or change or whatever it is they're there to resolve, right?
- 36:11Samantha Pruitt: We do this all the time with our children, with our spouses.
- 36:15Samantha Pruitt: I mean, think about people that pick up a baby.
- 36:18Samantha Pruitt: Okay, the baby's crying, the parent isn't crying, the parent is calm, they know the baby's safe, whatever, all right.
- 36:25Samantha Pruitt: So that energetic exchange just from the holding of the cat or the baby or whatever.
- 36:31Samantha Pruitt: That's what this is.
- 36:32Samantha Pruitt: What do we think?
- 36:34Samantha Pruitt: The kid understands us when we say, Hey, quiet down, Sally.
- 36:38Samantha Pruitt: The kid doesn't know what the hell have language, yeah.
- 36:40Samantha Pruitt: They don't have exactly there's no language, hasn't developed yet.
- 36:42Samantha Pruitt: No, totally, yeah, it's pure energy.
- 36:46Samantha Pruitt: Yeah, so good, dude.
- 36:48Samantha Pruitt: So good.
- 36:48Samantha Pruitt: Oh my god.
- 36:49Samantha Pruitt: You know, I just got a hit.
- 36:50Samantha Pruitt: I just want to share this.
- 36:51Samantha Pruitt: Uh a little bit left field, but it just was like, oh, that reminds me.
- 36:55Samantha Pruitt: You do not have anything coming from left field.
- 36:57Samantha Pruitt: Just because just because I'm in the space of, you know, I'm well, A, last year I was in that communication work with Landmark, which was called team management and leadership.
- 37:07Samantha Pruitt: So, like leadership, and one of the things that they talked about, and I didn't do the two-year program.
- 37:12Samantha Pruitt: The second year you go into what they call causing leadership.
- 37:15Samantha Pruitt: So the first year was more about like like creating teamwork, right?
- 37:19Samantha Pruitt: And the second year was causing leadership.
- 37:21Samantha Pruitt: And I just got to hit like how I mean, I it's like, duh, but like causing leadership.
- 37:28Samantha Pruitt: Yes, holding the space.
- 37:30Samantha Pruitt: Yes.
- 37:31Samantha Pruitt: And I've been thinking about this with some coachy client, like I have clients that are coming to me that want to go from either operator to owner or operator to CEO, that that that jump and whatnot.
- 37:41Samantha Pruitt: And it's very much an energetic leadership space.
- 37:44Samantha Pruitt: And I have been pulling, I've been like, where do I like I know it, but I'm like, how do I convey it?
- 37:51Samantha Pruitt: And so this conversation is helping me see it's a it's a place to come from.
- 37:56Samantha Pruitt: It's like a way of being.
- 37:57Samantha Pruitt: Like you, you and I talk about the capacity and the container, right?
- 38:00Samantha Pruitt: Like a like a bowl, right?
- 38:01Samantha Pruitt: Like you said, totally the bowl of something to sit in, right?
- 38:05Samantha Pruitt: Like, so if you're holding a team meeting, you create this bowl around your team and you are causing leadership.
- 38:11Samantha Pruitt: You're causing just from an energetic state of like, y'all are amazing.
- 38:16Samantha Pruitt: Like, we're gonna crush this.
- 38:18Samantha Pruitt: This there are no problems that we can't solve together, or whatever the space that you create is causing that leadership.
- 38:26Samantha Pruitt: So thank you for just letting me share that.
- 38:28Samantha Pruitt: That's a little tangent, but it's energy, right?
- 38:31Samantha Pruitt: It's well, and that's a great like workspace, you know, example.
- 38:36Samantha Pruitt: But again, it can be in the home space, it can be in the friend space.
- 38:39Samantha Pruitt: If you're in the health field professionally at whatever on whatever level, literally, I went to give blood the other day, you know, my exchange with that human who's literally poking a needle into my vein and drawing blood from my vein.
- 38:56Samantha Pruitt: Okay.
- 38:57Samantha Pruitt: Or when I have the back surgery and the doctor who's about to cut my back open.
- 39:03Samantha Pruitt: Okay, you think about these things like this is really going in there with the right space, intention, and energy.
- 39:10Samantha Pruitt: I I can't think of anything more important, but somehow we gloss over these things, or we don't think that that creating of the right energy and space with intention is that important, or we're so frenzied in our own head and body and nervous system, you know, dysregulated that we don't pause and take time to make those things happen.
- 39:33Samantha Pruitt: I think that's a big mistake, right?
- 39:36Samantha Pruitt: Because we're having then the downfall of that would be an energy exchange that is not helpful to say the least, and possibly not healthy.
- 39:46Samantha Pruitt: There might be a negative health outcome, definitely for our nervous system and our psychology and emotional state, but energetically, physically, right?
- 39:57Samantha Pruitt: So if we're receiving a treatment or we're having some kind of physical experience between us and another person around our health and wellness, it's so imperative that that energy is properly calibrated and we're having a good experience.
- 40:13Samantha Pruitt: And I do counsel people around going to see doctors a lot and going to see other health practitioners, whether it's for fitness or otherwise.
- 40:22Samantha Pruitt: Number one is the energy match and the coherence around that relationship.
- 40:27Samantha Pruitt: You call it other things, trust, relationship, connection, da-da-da.
- 40:31Samantha Pruitt: But I'm talking about energy.
- 40:33Samantha Pruitt: Yeah.
- 40:34Samantha Pruitt: And I, you know, I just wanted to add to that, and I think you might be going there, but when we one of the questions that I heard is like, well, how do you choose a good energy healer?
- 40:42Samantha Pruitt: You know, or like who who is your energy medicine person kind of thing?
- 40:46Samantha Pruitt: And it's all about experimenting, right?
- 40:50Samantha Pruitt: It's it's experiencing and experimenting with that person that these particular people were talking about, like body work and you know, hands-on touch or light touch.
- 40:58Samantha Pruitt: You know, it could be in a more reiki where it's not in a massage touch, if you will.
- 41:02Samantha Pruitt: And they said, you know, you'll know in the first session, like that did you feel something or did you have healing, or did it not go well, you know?
- 41:12Samantha Pruitt: So that's and asking other people, not to say that you just want to blindly like, oh, let me try a 10 and see which one, you know, like find your way.
- 41:19Samantha Pruitt: And they were saying that if somebody's been doing this for three years or more, they've gotten to a certain level of you know, capacity and expertise.
- 41:27Samantha Pruitt: And then if they're at 10, they've just had more time with it.
- 41:31Samantha Pruitt: So if you can find a practitioner that's been doing something in that area that you're studying and energy work for yourself, 10 or more years, probably doing something right, you know.
- 41:42Samantha Pruitt: Right.
- 41:43Samantha Pruitt: I mean, you think about when you go to get a massage, okay.
- 41:46Samantha Pruitt: I've literally had hundreds of massages.
- 41:48Samantha Pruitt: Okay.
- 41:48Samantha Pruitt: Part of my holistic health practitioner education was massage.
- 41:52Samantha Pruitt: It was like a whole fank class, and I was like, I'm not going to become a massage therapist, but it was part of understanding the anatomy and all the things, you know.
- 42:00Samantha Pruitt: So we've all had a really good massage, and we've all had a really bad one.
- 42:07Samantha Pruitt: Okay.
- 42:07Samantha Pruitt: And that's not just about the touch or the lack of knowledge or expertise or you know, experience of the practitioner.
- 42:14Samantha Pruitt: It's also the energy.
- 42:16Samantha Pruitt: I mean, the amount of energy exchange that's going on in that hands-on touch experience is next level and like not having the right energy there.
- 42:27Samantha Pruitt: I mean, you should just get up and leave almost like not to be an asshole, but like it can be that intrusive and that disruptive to your energy, receiving that in an unhealthy way, whatever that might look like.
- 42:41Samantha Pruitt: And then also if it's not hands-on touch, but just how many times have you walked into a medical facility?
- 42:49Samantha Pruitt: Not that I'm gonna, you know, make bad on Western Medical, but I've again had no shortage of those, hundreds and hundreds, where just going into the space, I haven't even walked into the patient room yet, where they're gonna close the door behind me and let me sit there in 30 minutes and wait for this expert to talk to me, right?
- 43:08Samantha Pruitt: That's a whole other thing.
- 43:10Samantha Pruitt: And I already am not feeling it.
- 43:13Samantha Pruitt: And what I mean by that is my energy doesn't feel good in here.
- 43:17Samantha Pruitt: There's already something going on that I'm experiencing.
- 43:21Samantha Pruitt: It could feel subtle, it could be dramatic and honoring and listening to that, right?
- 43:28Samantha Pruitt: And then, of course, you have the conversation with whoever the person is.
- 43:32Samantha Pruitt: And again, if that's not in resonance, if it's not reciprocal, if you don't be feel seen, heard, respected, whatever, if how you're being touched, like if these things don't feel good in your physical body or your emotional body, it's a no.
- 43:48Samantha Pruitt: That is entering your energy field and ultimately will have a negative repercussion.
- 43:53Samantha Pruitt: That's my belief and experience.
- 43:55Samantha Pruitt: First of all, that's your body, it's your energy field telling you this is a no.
- 43:59Samantha Pruitt: Yeah, I get it.
- 44:00Samantha Pruitt: For sure.
- 44:00Samantha Pruitt: For sure.
- 44:01Samantha Pruitt: How do you find a good one?
- 44:02Samantha Pruitt: Yeah, you can, like you just said, you know, see if they have experience that would be ideal, get a referral.
- 44:07Samantha Pruitt: That's great.
- 44:08Samantha Pruitt: They need to be licensed, like acupuncturists need to be licensed.
- 44:12Samantha Pruitt: You know, Rey K workers have a certification, qigong experts, like there are certifications to these things.
- 44:18Samantha Pruitt: It's not like they're just But yeah.
- 44:20Samantha Pruitt: Not all of them, but you know, you don't just sort of hang up a shingle and start doing things.
- 44:24Samantha Pruitt: Um, things to avoid are cults of one, right?
- 44:28Samantha Pruitt: So anybody who's decided they're the guru and they've created this sort of cult-like environment in this space, money being asked for outside of the treatment fee, total red flag, exploitation in any, any, any way, right?
- 44:42Samantha Pruitt: Verified reviews, obviously, word of mouth.
- 44:45Samantha Pruitt: But for me, the bottom line in all of this is like people learning to be their own healer and to manage their own energy.
- 44:54Samantha Pruitt: I just can't say enough about that.
- 44:56Samantha Pruitt: And for me, that is not only proven to change my entire physical body, my brain, everything, how my body works, but also my life and my life trajectory is like really me getting more and more and more in tune with that over time.
- 45:13Samantha Pruitt: And to me, that is where all the power lies in us just really being able not just heal, but to really change our life trajectory, ourselves, and then how we influence the world around us and the people that we love.
- 45:27Samantha Pruitt: Yeah, and I think the thing that I want people to, you know, we've talked on other episodes about taking your power back, right?
- 45:34Samantha Pruitt: Especially when it comes to physical well-being, especially because you have so much knowledge and whether you're working with a practitioner, if you have something critical, yes, I think Western Medicine, you know, sure, following both paths.
- 45:50Samantha Pruitt: I think you and I are just super fans of keep the keep the curiosity open, keep the door open to what else, right?
- 45:58Samantha Pruitt: Like don't just let a person in a white lab coat with a pencil, you know, be the director of your future, right?
- 46:04Samantha Pruitt: Like you and I were talking when you had your diagnosis, when I had my uh thyroid back in the 90s.
- 46:10Samantha Pruitt: It's like I had that was my only source.
- 46:13Samantha Pruitt: It was like, okay, whatever you say, these are the three options, okay.
- 46:17Samantha Pruitt: You know, it wasn't like there was the internet.
- 46:20Samantha Pruitt: There was, you know, any other, I was in a healthcare system.
- 46:22Samantha Pruitt: I was going to Kaiser.
- 46:23Samantha Pruitt: It was like, okay, you're my doctor, right?
- 46:26Samantha Pruitt: So today you have a lot more choices in freedom.
- 46:29Samantha Pruitt: And I want people to just be exercising that freedom.
- 46:32Samantha Pruitt: And I don't know, I'm a big fan of like if there's a roadblock, it's like, oh, there's a there's ways to go around it, go over it, go under it, go through it, whatever, you know.
- 46:43Samantha Pruitt: Like, don't let a seeming roadblock diagnosis lab report, whatever, just be like, well, that's how it is, you know.
- 46:50Samantha Pruitt: So totally, dude.
- 46:52Samantha Pruitt: I mean, in the 80s and 90s, we didn't even know what autoimmune disease was.
- 46:55Samantha Pruitt: What the hell?
- 46:56Samantha Pruitt: It's only 2026.
- 46:59Samantha Pruitt: No, right?
- 47:00Samantha Pruitt: So we've come leaps and bounds, and even as a precursor to what you're saying, before you end up feeling ill and being ill and getting diagnosis and then ultimately a treatment, whatever your pathway looks like for you, energetically, you know, you can feel if you are paying attention and you are awake that something isn't right.
- 47:24Samantha Pruitt: Right.
- 47:24Samantha Pruitt: So being able that nuanced, hmm, we call it gut intuition, we call it feeling, it could show up as fatigue, it could show up as brain fog, it could show up as a thousand things.
- 47:36Samantha Pruitt: Okay.
- 47:36Samantha Pruitt: Paying attention to the little things is the big things because that's how you understand how your body functions, ideally, and then can find some resolution before illness sets in, before disease state, before catastrophic treatments or diagnosis of the end is on your plate.
- 48:03Samantha Pruitt: Like, let's be proactive.
- 48:05Samantha Pruitt: And I what I often say is like just having the expectation of well-being in your mental body, physical body, spiritual body.
- 48:12Samantha Pruitt: And when it's not in well-being, and whatever that looks like physically for you is your usual norm in a good state, not like, oh, you've lowered your standard.
- 48:21Samantha Pruitt: I mean, but you know, so like what is optimal health for you?
- 48:25Samantha Pruitt: And when you, like you said, those little fine-tunings.
- 48:28Samantha Pruitt: Like I've got a little something going on in my back right now, and I'm not just like, yeah, well, I just won't pay attention to that.
- 48:33Samantha Pruitt: Like, I'm like, what's going on there?
- 48:35Samantha Pruitt: You know, or you know, had a little blood work that came back with low specific vitamins and stuff.
- 48:41Samantha Pruitt: Like, oh, what's that about, you know?
- 48:44Samantha Pruitt: And so, not just going, well, doc, you tell me what to do.
- 48:48Samantha Pruitt: So, catching these things, adjusting, tweaking, asking questions, staying curious, investigating.
- 48:54Samantha Pruitt: You're like Miss Investigator.
- 48:55Samantha Pruitt: I mean, you're like, hey, you got this time of the day.
- 48:58Samantha Pruitt: You need all these things.
- 48:59Samantha Pruitt: Here, here, check these things out.
- 49:01Samantha Pruitt: Like I told you, a friend of mine's having some heart, you know, blockage or whatever.
- 49:05Samantha Pruitt: You're like, I got this book and this book, you know, just like there's there's answers out there, so stay curious.
- 49:10Samantha Pruitt: Oh, there's so many resources.
- 49:12Samantha Pruitt: It's yeah, I don't, there's not enough time in the day or enough years left in my life for all of it.
- 49:17Samantha Pruitt: Like I just love it.
- 49:19Samantha Pruitt: But for the average person who maybe doesn't have the same curiosity I do or bandwidth or whatever it is in this area, there's still plenty of ways to find the resources and the knowledge and ultimately the solutions.
- 49:32Samantha Pruitt: So I would just say, you know, the kind of as we were preparing for this, and not like we had, you know, five years of preparation.
- 49:39Samantha Pruitt: So we've got just like boxes of information to share, I think there's more to this.
- 49:44Samantha Pruitt: I think there's more that's being discovered.
- 49:46Samantha Pruitt: Like, you know, A, it's hit my awareness more so.
- 49:49Samantha Pruitt: We talked a little bit about some of the modalities we have used.
- 49:52Samantha Pruitt: We didn't talk even about like what these things, you know, so pain is like the number one.
- 49:56Samantha Pruitt: So if you have pains in the body anywhere, healing modalities are great for that.
- 50:00Samantha Pruitt: What are some of the other like common things that people let's say heal themselves, if you will, with energy work?
- 50:08Samantha Pruitt: Do you what do you what have you?
- 50:09Samantha Pruitt: Well, so the energy work in as we've discussed, it would be unblocking a blocked energy or creating more flow around a healthy energy, right?
- 50:22Samantha Pruitt: So that can definitely show up in your brain.
- 50:25Samantha Pruitt: Okay, organs.
- 50:26Samantha Pruitt: Yeah, your brain isn't functioning the way it used to, you can't think clearly, you're getting headache, headaches, you're getting dizziness, things of that nature, right?
- 50:35Samantha Pruitt: Ultimately, that can lead, that blockage up there can lead, of course, to dementia, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and all the things.
- 50:43Samantha Pruitt: We're talking about brain proactive.
- 50:44Samantha Pruitt: So if you're noticing something there, that's not to be ignored, right?
- 50:49Samantha Pruitt: Um, also energy level.
- 50:51Samantha Pruitt: For a lot of people, it just feels like low energy, or it can feel like really high and really low energy, right?
- 50:58Samantha Pruitt: Like that spiking, that undulation that just doesn't feel good, you know.
- 51:02Samantha Pruitt: Or they have to do something to get the energy up, you know.
- 51:04Samantha Pruitt: It's like, oh, they or flushes of energy they stimulate, or they, you know.
- 51:09Samantha Pruitt: For women, it's off flashes, it feels like a flush of energy, but people will get that in other ways.
- 51:13Samantha Pruitt: When I was younger, I used to get it and I used to think it was just like caffeine or blood sugar or whatever, but it can be showing up in different ways.
- 51:20Samantha Pruitt: So an energy cycle that just doesn't feel good or smooth, right?
- 51:25Samantha Pruitt: That's definitely obviously constipation, so diarrhea or constipation.
- 51:30Samantha Pruitt: So things that are not working in that space, that's huge red flag.
- 51:34Samantha Pruitt: Some organ is not in cooperation with your digestive system, which ultimately is going to affect everything, right?
- 51:41Samantha Pruitt: There's so many, if you think about just not feeling good, and that is a million things, at the root of that could be there, could already be disease, disease state.
- 51:55Samantha Pruitt: But if we can catch it early enough, there could be something very simple that can be dealt with through a energy healing modality.
- 52:03Samantha Pruitt: Yeah.
- 52:04Samantha Pruitt: So looking at, you know, we talked earlier that mitochondria is in every like it's attributable, uh weakened or broken or not broken, whatever they call it, damaged mitochondria or too few is the root of pretty much all disease.
- 52:16Samantha Pruitt: It's like, okay, so if there's anything that is starting to percolate in your body, doesn't seem well, slowness, sluggishness, whatever, pain, there's so many things that energy healing can help with.
- 52:30Samantha Pruitt: So just be curious.
- 52:31Samantha Pruitt: Like, we we hope this was like an opening to oh, something shows up or you've already got something.
- 52:37Samantha Pruitt: Like, just be curious about it.
- 52:38Samantha Pruitt: Like, could energy healing be a part of that and could help it?
- 52:41Samantha Pruitt: So, and there will be more of these because there's so much that I'm now fascinated with that you've like been sent me down this road of like all right.
- 52:50Samantha Pruitt: So, so stay tuned for more of that.
- 52:52Samantha Pruitt: Any last minute thoughts, my dear?
- 52:54Samantha Pruitt: On uh, I'm gonna read this meditation exercise real quick.
- 52:57Samantha Pruitt: Now you meditate.
- 52:58Samantha Pruitt: I don't actively meditate, I do what I call moving meditation, but it's me being out in nature moving my body or moving my body in other ways.
- 53:06Samantha Pruitt: But here's just I'm just gonna read it through real quick.
- 53:09Samantha Pruitt: It is so one of the cool things about this book is at the end of every chapter, she actually gives you something to do.
- 53:19Samantha Pruitt: So it's not just, you know, here are the ideas and concepts, but like here's something you could actually do in real life practice, right?
- 53:26Samantha Pruitt: So this in particular is a meditation, okay, and it's around self-healing.
- 53:30Samantha Pruitt: So I'm just gonna read it, and people can sort of think about this before we close up here.
- 53:34Samantha Pruitt: Or take this on.
- 53:36Samantha Pruitt: Or they can take this on.
- 53:38Samantha Pruitt: Okay, you can practice this exercise lying down or sitting comfortably with a straight spine.
- 53:44Samantha Pruitt: Start your meditation by opening to the universal energy field, using the ground and opening exercise from chapter three.
- 53:54Samantha Pruitt: So, again, referencing this book.
- 53:56Samantha Pruitt: Visualize a laser from your lower spine sinking deep into the earth.
- 54:02Samantha Pruitt: Allow yourself to feel heavier.
- 54:06Samantha Pruitt: Then imagine a ball of light, your own spiritual light, entering your body at the top of your head and flowing through you.
- 54:14Samantha Pruitt: Some people know these as chakras, right?
- 54:17Samantha Pruitt: To put your body in a receptive state, spend a few minutes practicing the resonant breathing in chapter two, by gently breathing in for a count of six, and then breathing out for a count of six.
- 54:34Samantha Pruitt: Slow, deep breathing.
- 54:38Samantha Pruitt: As your mind relaxes, feel your body's vitality by using the experience energy exercise in chapter one.
- 54:47Samantha Pruitt: At this point, I'm gonna give you a choice.
- 54:50Samantha Pruitt: Over the course of the book, we've learned a number of different techniques to help your body reorganize.
- 54:56Samantha Pruitt: I call it recalibration, recalibration.
- 54:59Samantha Pruitt: She calls it reorganization.
- 55:00Samantha Pruitt: Pick the one that feels appropriate and spend 10 minutes doing it.
- 55:05Samantha Pruitt: To get out of your own way, let your body access the information it needs using rapid image cycling.
- 55:13Samantha Pruitt: That's what she talks about in the book.
- 55:15Samantha Pruitt: So it's clearing your brain of anything attached to anything or the ego, if you will.
- 55:21Samantha Pruitt: For specific symptoms and to affect the energy channels, use acupuncture exercises.
- 55:27Samantha Pruitt: So acupuncture is one of the things I talked about earlier where it is a hands-on technique on the meridians versus acupuncture, which is the needle going into the case.
- 55:36Samantha Pruitt: Or acupressure, maybe acupuncture.
- 55:38Samantha Pruitt: Acupressure is the hands-on versus acupuncture.
- 55:42Samantha Pruitt: Okay.
- 55:43Samantha Pruitt: For a general tune-up, use chakra meditation.
- 55:46Samantha Pruitt: So you're super familiar with those.
- 55:48Samantha Pruitt: To deepen your intuition, expand your consciousness, use the circulatory breathing exercises and find areas of dense energy and dissipate them by using the body scanning exercises.
- 56:02Samantha Pruitt: So what you can see is there's all these different ways, free ways, for you to get more connected to the flow of energy in your body, these meridians or this qi, or depending on your spiritual, religious, or cultural beliefs, call it whatever you want, but like connecting to that inside your body, and then through quiet meditation and breathing exercises, allowing those to open, reorganize, recalibrate, and flow.
- 56:36Samantha Pruitt: You don't have to go to a practitioner, you can completely do this on your own accord, whenever, wherever.
- 56:43Samantha Pruitt: Practicing it, you know, I think the key is like learning a technique or learning a process and then doing it.
- 56:47Samantha Pruitt: And when you're consistently, when you're talking about that, or once, like you could, you know, have a blockage and you just open it, right?
- 56:53Samantha Pruitt: So, you know, it's amazing that people, a, we're not more connected when we close our eyes to what's going on in our body.
- 57:01Samantha Pruitt: You know, we can stay up in this thing called our head and our brain and you know, all the thoughts.
- 57:06Samantha Pruitt: Amazing, like she you mentioned the word body scan, right?
- 57:09Samantha Pruitt: I'm not even sure people know what a body scan is.
- 57:11Samantha Pruitt: So check that out.
- 57:12Samantha Pruitt: Those are great.
- 57:13Samantha Pruitt: You know, it's it's almost like a just sending your attention, your awareness throughout your body, and where there might be a constriction or a constraint or something talking to you or a message.
- 57:24Samantha Pruitt: Like I love people who say, like, you know, like they get messages from parts of their body, you know, like like the signals are trying to come up to the brain, right?
- 57:31Samantha Pruitt: If we're aware and tuned in.
- 57:33Samantha Pruitt: So yeah, your body is sending signals, trying to talk to you if you're receptive to it.
- 57:39Samantha Pruitt: So there's so much that we can unpack in that.
- 57:42Samantha Pruitt: Like that could be a whole other session, is like the wisdom of the body and being a somatic healing and stuff like that.
- 57:48Samantha Pruitt: So more to unpack, more to play with.
- 57:51Samantha Pruitt: Oh, yeah, it's it's a lot.
- 57:53Samantha Pruitt: This was basically super high-level one-on-one, like, hey, it's a thing.
- 57:57Samantha Pruitt: Have you heard of it?
- 57:58Samantha Pruitt: Do you have an interest in it?
- 58:00Samantha Pruitt: Ideally, you know, taking some power back in your own body and starting to listen to it and then play with it.
- 58:08Samantha Pruitt: So if you've had like a like a hit as you've listened to this or an intuitive, like, that's curious, or I wonder if that could help me with it.
- 58:15Samantha Pruitt: Yep, go down that road.
- 58:17Samantha Pruitt: Something is talking to you, you know.
- 58:19Samantha Pruitt: So, so take that on.
- 58:21Samantha Pruitt: So, well, thank you for bringing this topic.
- 58:23Samantha Pruitt: And I'm studying yet another thing that's really exciting.
- 58:27Samantha Pruitt: And I know we're gonna talk more about this.
- 58:29Samantha Pruitt: We're not gonna talk about it for a while because energy medicine, Joel Blakeway, that's the book.
- 58:34Samantha Pruitt: We are gonna next time we're gonna talk about where Polly's gonna be going for a little while.
- 58:39Samantha Pruitt: You just came back from your adventure, and I've got a couple of weeks on my mountain adventure coming up.
- 58:45Samantha Pruitt: Going to do the Tour de Mont Blanc here soon.
- 58:47Samantha Pruitt: So, talk about an energy recalibration.
- 58:51Samantha Pruitt: Why won't be in an isolated wilderness like you were, but I will definitely use it as some time with myself, you know.
- 59:00Samantha Pruitt: But those mountains, yeah.
- 59:02Samantha Pruitt: I mean, come on, it's one of the most beautiful places in the world.
- 59:05Samantha Pruitt: The energy that's gonna be there in the natural space for you is unreal.
- 59:11Samantha Pruitt: Yeah, next slide.
- 59:12Samantha Pruitt: So good.
- 59:13Samantha Pruitt: So good.
- 59:13Samantha Pruitt: Stay tuned for that episode.
- 59:15Samantha Pruitt: Well, thank you for the sharing the book and what you're getting out of that.
- 59:18Samantha Pruitt: And hope you guys have gotten something out of this and go go further.
- 59:21Samantha Pruitt: You know, like we're opening this doorway for ourselves to get wider and wider.
- 59:25Samantha Pruitt: So come with us, you know, like see what you can find out.
- 59:29Samantha Pruitt: Bring something, chat with us, you know, give us a comment, like tell us something that more you want to know about this, or you know about this.
- 59:34Samantha Pruitt: You might be a healer already, so share about it.
- 59:37Samantha Pruitt: And so we'd love, love, love to have you on or hear more about this.
- 59:41Samantha Pruitt: So all right, my dear.
- 59:42Samantha Pruitt: Or come practice on us.
- 59:43Samantha Pruitt: We're we're willing to be guinea pigs.
- 59:46Samantha Pruitt: We'll take it, we'll take it.
- 59:47Samantha Pruitt: All right, let's wrap it up.
- 59:50Samantha Pruitt: Let's remind them.
- 59:51Samantha Pruitt: Let's uh how your life feels is more important than how it looks.
- 59:54Samantha Pruitt: Yeah, it is, and every day is your opportunity to find your awesome.
- 59:58Samantha Pruitt: See you next week.
- 59:59Samantha Pruitt: Love you guys.
