  SPEAKER_00: Do you spend much time thinking about heaven?

  SPEAKER_00: Well, Philippians 3.20 tells us that our citizenship isn't here.

  SPEAKER_00: It's actually in heaven.

  SPEAKER_00: I know I think about it a lot.
• 0:33
  SPEAKER_00: You know, a lot of people say a lot of different things about heaven.
• 0:36
  SPEAKER_00: I've heard some people even say they think heaven's going to be boring.

  SPEAKER_00: Can you believe that?
• 0:42
  SPEAKER_00: Well,
• 0:42
  SPEAKER_00: God put some things in the Bible so we could have a glimpse of what's waiting for us,

  SPEAKER_00: and none of it sounds boring.

  SPEAKER_00: He puts things in the Bible to encourage us because,

  SPEAKER_00: frankly,
• 0:53
  SPEAKER_00: this life can get pretty bad,
• 0:54
  SPEAKER_00: and it'd be even worse if we thought this was all there was.

  SPEAKER_00: He told us to comfort each other with the words about the end times and heaven.

  SPEAKER_00: Now, since this is only a five minute podcast, there's no way I can cover everything.

  SPEAKER_00: But I just want to point out three interesting things about heaven to uplift us and

  SPEAKER_00: get us excited about it.

  SPEAKER_00: Number one, the sounds of praise.
• 1:18
  SPEAKER_00: Now,
• 1:18
  SPEAKER_00: according to the Bible,
• 1:20
  SPEAKER_00: the number of angels,
• 1:21
  SPEAKER_00: living creatures and elders who are praising God can't even be numbered.

  SPEAKER_00: And I find that in Revelation 511.
• 1:28
  SPEAKER_00: I'm going to read out of the New King James Version.
• 1:31
  SPEAKER_00: Then I looked and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne,

  SPEAKER_00: the living creatures and the elders.
• 1:37
  SPEAKER_00: And the number of them was 10,000 times 10,000 and thousands of thousands.

  SPEAKER_00: We can't begin to understand how it's going to sound,
• 1:48
  SPEAKER_00: but it's going to be such a joyful and amazing experience.

  SPEAKER_00: Okay, number two.

  SPEAKER_00: Another interesting thing about heaven is its sheer beauty.

  SPEAKER_00: Nothing on earth can compare to it.

  SPEAKER_00: And I'm sure we don't even have words to describe how beautiful it is.

  SPEAKER_00: Well, Revelation gives us glimpses into a few things.

  SPEAKER_00: Like for instance, there's going to be 12 gates and each gate is made up of one pearl.

  SPEAKER_00: That sounds pretty amazing.

  SPEAKER_00: Also, the city is made of pure gold, like clear glass.

  SPEAKER_00: How cool is that?
• 2:28
  SPEAKER_00: And the foundations of the city wall are adorned with precious stones like jaspers,

  SPEAKER_00: sapphires,
• 2:35
  SPEAKER_00: emeralds,
• 2:36
  SPEAKER_00: and I know there's lots of others.
• 2:39
  SPEAKER_00: And number three, another interesting thing about heaven will be the people.

  SPEAKER_00: Have you ever thought about that?
• 2:45
  SPEAKER_00: Not just the loved ones that we want to see, but just
• 2:49
  SPEAKER_00: The people as a whole.
• 2:51
  SPEAKER_00: If we think about how many people have lived on the earth since Adam and Eve,
• 2:55
  SPEAKER_00: well,
• 2:55
  SPEAKER_00: and then currently there's approximately 8 billion people on the planet.

  SPEAKER_00: Heaven will include hundreds,
• 3:02
  SPEAKER_00: if not thousands of unique people groups from every tribe,
• 3:06
  SPEAKER_00: nation,
• 3:07
  SPEAKER_00: and every part of the world going clear back to creation.

  SPEAKER_00: Now, of course, not everyone goes to heaven, but the point is to think about just how many
• 3:17
  SPEAKER_00: will actually be there.
• 3:18
  SPEAKER_00: I mean,
• 3:18
  SPEAKER_00: it's exciting to think all believers from way back to present day will join
• 3:26
  SPEAKER_00: together in the privilege of praising our Savior forever.
• 3:31
  SPEAKER_00: So there you go.

  SPEAKER_00: There are just a few of the many wonderful and spectacular things the Bible reveals about heaven.

  SPEAKER_00: And Luke 21, 28 reminds us to look up because our redemption draws near.

  SPEAKER_00: So if this world has got you discouraged, look up, my friend, because we're going to be there soon.

  SPEAKER_00: Are you ready?

  SPEAKER_00: Do you know where you'll spend eternity?
• 3:56
  SPEAKER_00: Because it's only one of two places.
• 3:58
  SPEAKER_00: It's either heaven or hell.

  SPEAKER_00: If you can't answer yes, it's time to get right with God.

  SPEAKER_00: Don't put it off.
