Transcript
- 0:04[SPEAKER_02]: for breakfast.
- 0:05[SPEAKER_03]: Happy victory Monday.
- 0:06[SPEAKER_03]: I am Nick Kendall.
- 0:08[SPEAKER_03]: I am in the same location.
- 0:09[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not being held hostage in a weird room as just we got the move coming up here and about 10 days, something like that.
- 0:16[SPEAKER_03]: So just trying to get as much cleaned up and get to go as possible.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, no, Eric, how are you doing?
- 0:24[SPEAKER_03]: I know it wasn't ugly when, but if you remember, as we closed out, Wednesdays show, I didn't want people to overreact too much, too and ugly when, because it's the freaking NFL.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_03]: And sometimes, I mean, how many games last season did the chiefs win ugly?
- 0:39[SPEAKER_03]: And they did that all the way until getting there, you know, you know, what's waxed in the Super Bowl, but still.
- 0:45[SPEAKER_03]: A win as a win as a win will nitpick now, but overall,
- 0:53[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, we talked about it last week.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_01]: I talked about it on Friday night that last year, they handled business.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_01]: They beat the teams that they needed to beat.
- 0:59[SPEAKER_01]: This was a team they needed to beat, that they were expected to beat.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_01]: They handled business.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_01]: Wasn't great.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_01]: Wasn't pretty.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_01]: We're gonna nitpick it.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_01]: We're gonna break down the ugly stuff of it.
- 1:09[SPEAKER_01]: We're gonna break down the good stuff from it.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_01]: And it's just one of those things that by the time the season ends, everyone will have forgotten how they beat the Titans, they'll just be remembered that they did beat the Titans.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_03]: didn't leave us feeling overly excited.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_03]: I think it would come back to I think I talked about it Wednesday as well.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_03]: That 2015, 2013 game versus the Jags were Denver was only up like 10 and a half time or something and they were literally getting boot.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_03]: And I know that Denver is like one of the biggest spreads we've seen in a decade.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_03]: It was a horrible Jags team and that Broncos team was just beating the you know what out of everybody.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_03]: But
- 1:48[SPEAKER_03]: This isn't college football, you know, Denver is not going to move down the playoff rankings because the committee thinks, oh, they should have beaten the Titans by more.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_03]: It's going to show one to zero in the column.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_03]: Now at the end of the year, you know, the, well, it hurt some of the advanced stats stuff, like last season, Denver,
- 2:07[SPEAKER_03]: really beat up on the teams, they were supposed to beat often, and that's why they're record in one score games was so good, not one score games, record in a multi score game was so good, and that's often an indicator of a team that's like pretty darn good overall.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_03]: That's not, this is going to be a one score game.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_03]: They went in 20 to 12, 20 to 13, excuse me.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_03]: Was it 20 to 12?
- 2:29[SPEAKER_03]: Is that wrong?
- 2:30[SPEAKER_03]: I think it was 20 to 12.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know, I digress.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, I was looking at like, I don't think it was 20 to 13, but either way, one score game and don't feel the best about it, but what I do feel good about is everybody in the chat coming in saying good morning, hello to everybody who got David young kid in the house great to have a dominant defense six acts 150 on Russian yards, questionable play, calling it over Subtupable, it's right.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_03]: uh... super already a smoking crack you never know man uh... it is just one game i got a lot to work on was it the best performance from shan paten bonix and the offense absolutely not uh... but Denver did get the win and a win inches you that much closer uh... so we'll find out it's just one game but it's a game that as you said or Denver needed to win
- 3:21[SPEAKER_03]: Hey, a staple on the path, if you will, gatorate gaming, good morning, Nick and Eric.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_03]: What's good, Broncos country?
- 3:26[SPEAKER_03]: What'd be good if you joined us in the membership here.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_03]: Make sure you guys have come in at Mile High, little member on the YouTube side of things.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_03]: We don't really do appreciate that.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_03]: Had to give you a hard time gatorate gaming.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_03]: Good to see you.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_03]: Hope you're doing well.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_03]: Appreciate you, Kanga.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_03]: Anyone want to reverse their win-loss predictions after yesterday's performance?
- 3:43[SPEAKER_03]: I had I'm at I think 11 and seven.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_03]: That's too many games 11 and six to start with the season.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_03]: I'm gonna keep it 11 and six, but I definitely feel like maybe that's on the the high end of it.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_03]: I was like if I saw that again, I'd be like, oh, maybe 10 and seven, but I want to stick to 11 and six still.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_03]: Again, one game, if they, you know, go to Indy and struggle or if they get blown out by the Eagles, maybe.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_03]: But I'm gonna hold my stick to my guns for now with 11 wins.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm second with 13 and four.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_01]: It's, I mean, that was the higher end.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_01]: I believe I talked on one of the shows about 11 to 6 to 13 and four.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_01]: But last year, they started 0 and 2.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_01]: Like, it's all, sometimes you don't get the full picture in the first week or two, especially now, after teams are with the one-less preseason game.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_01]: a lot of people don't realize that the best offense after week one last year was a Saints and then that being one of the worst teams in the NFL last year and one of the worst offenses looking for a quarterback.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_01]: But they started off on.
- 4:46[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm second with it.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_01]: I think that you know, some of the issues that we'll talk about with this game.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure a good portion of them will get figured out and get handled or covered up or, you know, had that mandate put on it.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_01]: But whatever the case,
- 5:01[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think we see as ugly of a performance as we did against a Titans, you know, in week 10, week 12.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_01]: And so I think that things again, things will get worked out.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not changing it.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_01]: If they show against the courts, maybe, but, you know, in the courts, they absolutely whipped on the Miami Dolphin.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_01]: So maybe they're a little bit of a better team than we think.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, well, a little time to talk about that as well.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_03]: I am always a little bit skeptical of the one game sample size, right?
- 5:30[SPEAKER_03]: Like some days are just like they didn't show up and they
- 5:33[SPEAKER_03]: didn't earn it.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_03]: So we will see.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_03]: We will see for sure.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_03]: Jason comes in and says, both seem to be pressing too much.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_03]: Trying to carry the load, especially in the first half game, the run game going earlier will help a lot.
- 5:44[SPEAKER_03]: Confident Bow will play better next week.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_03]: It's going to be hard for him to play worse.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_03]: This was a that was a really ugly performance from Bonix.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_03]: Now, he did have some good throws in there, but I agree with Jason.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_03]: It did feel like he was
- 5:58[SPEAKER_03]: pressing.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_03]: It's one of the big complaints I had about bonus coming out of college and I don't know, you do love to have the off platform trick shots in your back pocket, but it's no basis for your entire arsenal of quarterback plane.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_03]: It just felt like if you have to put it in that moment, the off platform throwing an opposite shoulder flipping around every once in a while, that's great.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_03]: But it felt like way too often he was muddying his platform, the shoulders off kilter when it was unnecessary.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_03]: Like I always hate the guy, I hate the guy, but I respect the heck out of him.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_03]: Tom Brady, and it's not fair to compare anybody to Tom Brady, but no matter how much chaos was in the pocket, Tom Brady was square and his feet were quiet and he was always in that repeatable delivery.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_03]: He was accurate and he was on time.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_03]: And again, that's beyond like a PhD level.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_03]: Like that's the guy who wrote the book essentially, Hamon Payton, I'm not asking for that.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_03]: Yet, that shouldn't be the goal.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_03]: But right now, there's just way too much unforced pushing the ball, some of the decisions too in this one.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_03]: That's not, I'm not even talking about that decision, but it's just the mechanics that they're, they're sloppy and it's good to have that everyone's in love.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_03]: You wanna have that in your back pocket, but it cannot be,
- 7:22[SPEAKER_03]: 50% of your throws you needed to be like 10 to 20 and I felt like it was just way way too often in the accuracy struggled the some of the ball place the Velocity and like the toss it up lobbing it up struggle them is just wasn't good enough and forcing so just back to basics didn't feel like a Robot like when you watch Breeze or Brady operate, which is what you want the flare, but you also need the consistency
- 7:49[SPEAKER_01]: it was like he tried to force improvement over last year a little bit too much and then especially when areas where he did well last year took a step back because he's trying to force to improve in other areas and it just didn't work out.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't pretty.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_01]: He had two interceptions that probably should have had two or three more just with some of the decision making head.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_01]: His placement was all of the place and it all stems from the base.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_01]: are a good friend when he I've had him on devalued at Ivers.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_01]: He Lou Polgoyce.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_01]: He's always talked about midfoot force about making sure you're you know having that proper base and you know your lower half is pointed correctly and set because of how much that can not only help you drive the ball and add velocity to it but how it helps your placement and that was all over the place with next he he he may have
- 8:38[SPEAKER_01]: Let's see.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_01]: He threw the ball 37, 38 times.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_01]: We probably had less than 10 less than 10 of those plays where he actually had a good base, good mechanics, good and just good set and or being set well and it really showed this play and it's one of those things where, all right, Davis web, Sean Peyton, you need to pull him aside and be like,
- 9:01[SPEAKER_01]: relax a little bit, calm down in the pocket, his pressure gauge was off as well.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_01]: So maybe you know, have a little bit of a conversation with him about that, but it's definitely a step of if this is the, I'm not saying we will get this bonus for the rest of the season.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_01]: I do expect him to, you know, correct some of this.
- 9:20[SPEAKER_01]: At the very least, but if this is the bonus we get, then maybe I'm not feeling too confident about 13 and 4 because this isn't a that isn't the court level quarterback play you need to get to that kind of record.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_03]: looked like a rookie in that one as we won.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_03]: Again, we saw a lot of good stuff from him last season.
- 9:37[SPEAKER_03]: So don't take it as us saying Bonyx is not good.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_03]: This is exactly who he's going to be.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_03]: But we can be real with the performance against Titans.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_03]: It was not very good.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_03]: Now the Titans, they were one of the best.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_03]: defenses in yards last season, but they were freaking horrible in points.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_03]: And you know how it's really good to be good in yards when your quarterback is confident of the football on the other team doesn't only have to go 30 yards.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_03]: So like I think that's a mirage statistic.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_03]: They were still in like 26th in DVOA and 24th in EPA.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_03]: It's not a great defense.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_03]: Now, two good defensive tackles.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_03]: Jeffrey Simmons had a very good game.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_03]: sweat as well on that fourth down.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_03]: stuff.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, that's that's a good run stuffing defensive line, maybe not so much the line backers, Cody Barton.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_03]: Good to see out there.
- 10:25[SPEAKER_03]: But we got Michael coming in saying good morning Nick and Eric on Broncos for breakfast, gobo, Broncos great to see Michael happy victory Monday to you as well.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_03]: Want to know, baby.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_03]: There was a time when Denver, we were talking about Denver winning, you know, three to five games and number one overall picked not too long ago.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_03]: So,
- 10:43[SPEAKER_03]: Now we can't be, it's in a much better spot and it's good to be critical and have expectations.
- 10:49[SPEAKER_03]: We got Troy coming to say sample of class of one.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_03]: Glad could be okay.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_03]: We got the kinks out and game one or it could be that it often is bad.
- 10:57[SPEAKER_03]: I'm assuming the first, hey looks like we got our puncher.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you for bringing that up.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_03]: We have definitely, I was railing against Krosha, cause I mean, if we had, if you had a bad pun in this game, it could have been over.
- 11:08[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, cause we were playing with fire a lot, defense build us out, but Krosha, Lutz, and the defense, they all get game balls from you.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not sure I give it to anybody on offense right now.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_03]: I'd have to go back and watch the individual offensive line plays.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_03]: It felt like bulls had a good game, but I'd have to go back and watch.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_03]: hard to do that in the moment and really focus on an offensive lime and Gary fire, great to see you again.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_03]: We got quitting in the house.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_03]: Good morning everyone.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_03]: First of all, we can be one.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_03]: Just be happy about that.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_03]: I'm happy.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_03]: I'm happy string guy.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_03]: Remember how diverse our last season and how they finished.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_03]: Definitely, definitely matters.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you so much.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_03]: Appreciate you coming in and saying a little rock bucks bomb in the house.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_03]: Good to see you.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_03]: Can't stay but glad football's back.
- 11:50[SPEAKER_03]: What a glad you're here.
- 11:52[SPEAKER_03]: And JR said, I guess, class like Ingram is out for a while.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_03]: Have you heard any updates on that?
- 11:56[SPEAKER_03]: I've heard the expectation is he's going to be out week two.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_03]: But I haven't heard anything beyond that.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I haven't heard anything beyond, you know, that he most likely won't be playing next week.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_01]: But I believe I saw somebody say that the expectation is formed to be back in week three.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, it stinks, especially when your options are cruel and troutmen at tight end, but maybe you see Harvey a little bit more involved in the past game because then maybe you see Pat Bryant involved.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_03]: So we'll see things that things will change.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_03]: Joshua, good to see a safety and secondary leading the way and tackles as a problem.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I don't know.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_03]: I feel like it is on the surface, but I felt like the defense played really pretty well overall.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_03]: I don't have many complaints.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, is there a few times the defense attackals, you know, got pushed back?
- 12:45[SPEAKER_03]: I felt like they really flexed in the second half overall as a unit.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_03]: I think Uwa was a Rika had a solid game in the second half.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_03]: I thought Eric, um, considering, you know.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_03]: fifth, six defensive tackle.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_03]: And the edges were awesome as Alhafanga was incredible.
- 13:01[SPEAKER_03]: They even throw the ball up at Brian.
- 13:03[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think or Calvin really didn't even catch anything.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you alligator arms really horrible.
- 13:07[SPEAKER_03]: I feel bad for cam where I thought it was a dad watching it a little bit just like, oh my god, these past passages are freaking horrible.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_03]: But overall,
- 13:16[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know man, I am pretty happy with the defense.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, it's hard not to be.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_03]: Am I ready to, you know, crown them as the 2015 defense?
- 13:24[SPEAKER_03]: No, Titans were horrible last season.
- 13:26[SPEAKER_03]: Offensive line was dreadful.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_03]: Camor is first game on the road.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_03]: I think Camor is legit.
- 13:32[SPEAKER_03]: He looked like he belonged.
- 13:33[SPEAKER_03]: I know the stat lines, not good.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_03]: People on Twitter were like, Nick, what are you talking about?
- 13:36[SPEAKER_03]: He's horrible.
- 13:37[SPEAKER_03]: I'm like, I test said he looked like he frickin' belong.
- 13:39[SPEAKER_03]: He made some pretty good plays.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_03]: It's not his fault that Calvin Ridley
- 13:45[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know, stumps for hands, but I thought he looked pretty good with a defense.
- 13:50[SPEAKER_03]: That's off, man.
- 13:50[SPEAKER_03]: They win the game because of them.
- 13:52[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, on cam board, it's not helped when you have, I think, five or six drops by my count watching it live from your receivers and like three or four of them from Calvin Ridley alone.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_01]: There's some things that cam board has to work on, obviously, some of those seam shots were a little bit too much on it, but he does look legit and, obviously, we'll see what he goes from here.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_01]: I think in, there was a lot of questionable personnel packages.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_01]: I would say with the defensive front in particular, it's typically never a good idea to have none of your, you know, top four defensive linemen defensive front guys out there on the field at the same time.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_01]: And in the first half, Van shows have had a lot of that.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_01]: It was DJ Jones, Jordan Jackson, who was a reggae,
- 14:45[SPEAKER_01]: They were kind of moving the ball and that was the defensive line.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_01]: It was Jones who was a Riki and Jackson and they just could not do anything to stop the rum.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_01]: They could do anything to get out for the quarterback.
- 14:54[SPEAKER_01]: They just weren't doing anything.
- 14:56[SPEAKER_01]: And then Zach Allig comes in.
- 14:57[SPEAKER_01]: John Frederick and Myers come in.
- 14:58[SPEAKER_01]: They hold up the offensive line at the point of attack.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_01]: They stalled Tony Polard and who finally comes down hill for us in the Fumble and Brian and Johnson and Femberset.
- 15:06[SPEAKER_01]: You typically want one of those guys out there and rotate one at a time, not both, especially if you're doing the same thing with their edges.
- 15:13[SPEAKER_01]: At least with the edges though, you can overcome it because Joan Alice was phenomenal.
- 15:17[SPEAKER_01]: Against the Titans, he's really carrying over the great preseason he had into the regular season.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_01]: And so defensively overall, it was a great game overall from the defense, especially with the secondary.
- 15:30[SPEAKER_01]: linebackers, Alex Eagle's in particular was rough.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_01]: Still fine, but as against the run between the tackles, but outside of that, it's a little bit rough.
- 15:38[SPEAKER_01]: Justin Chinard had an absolute monster of a game as well, going to go very under the radar without good he had.
- 15:44[SPEAKER_01]: Game of it, he had.
- 15:45[SPEAKER_01]: But, if I'm going to nitpick anything with this defense and really point out something, it's going to be the personal groupings and how the members of those personal groupings played.
- 15:53[SPEAKER_01]: Who was Ricky had a couple plays in the second half, but overall it wasn't a good game.
- 15:58[SPEAKER_01]: DJ Jones made a couple plays here and there throughout the game, but it wasn't great.
- 16:04[SPEAKER_01]: And Jordan Jackson.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_01]: Man, he looks worse than Jonathan Harris ever did.
- 16:10[SPEAKER_01]: Like, Jonathan Harris was like 100 times upgrading both of you and I have railed on Jonathan Harris in the past.
- 16:16[SPEAKER_01]: So, good game defense.
- 16:17[SPEAKER_01]: They saved the day.
- 16:18[SPEAKER_01]: We win because of it, offense managed to make just enough plays to pull it out, but special teams and defense, certain members on defense get the game ball for sure.
- 16:30[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, maybe not Marvin Mims, God, Muff Punt, but couldn't believe when that happened.
- 16:34[SPEAKER_03]: Jake good to see a Christian James says I feel like Peyton was trying to make his proclamation of bobe in a top five quarterback come true, like this was a showcase instead of actual executing.
- 16:43[SPEAKER_03]: I think it was a lot of respect for Tevandre sweat and Jeffrey Simmons and the mass that the Titans have on the defensive front and not a lot of respect for the back seven and think and they could pepper the ball down the field and
- 16:58[SPEAKER_03]: In theory, I mean, that's what we talked about on Wednesday thinking that they would try to do.
- 17:01[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think it was anything of trying to make Bonax look great.
- 17:04[SPEAKER_03]: Also, it could have been a little bit of the defenses playing so good.
- 17:08[SPEAKER_03]: We really need to work on a lot of things.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_03]: These weapons and Bonax can get him confident for the rest of the season.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_03]: So let's ramp him up a bit.
- 17:16[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know as much about him trying to show that Bonax been a top five quarterback.
- 17:20[SPEAKER_03]: I think we can put that conversation to bed at least after a week one, because that was not close to a top five quarterback performance.
- 17:28[SPEAKER_03]: That was the 22nd and the league kind of quarterback play, which not good enough, and again, one game.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_03]: It'll fluctuate.
- 17:37[SPEAKER_03]: You don't want to be, you want to think about the trend and that takes multiple data points to think about the trend, but also, I don't know if you watched the game last night, Eric.
- 17:46[SPEAKER_03]: It's not against not necessarily fair to compare Bonix to the Marjax and Josh Allen, but at the same time, if we're talking Super Bowl is expectation, you are comparing him to those guys, right?
- 18:01[SPEAKER_03]: And as good as I like the defense.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_03]: Ravens have a good defense that gave up.
- 18:06[SPEAKER_03]: What was it?
- 18:06[SPEAKER_03]: 41 points, right?
- 18:08[SPEAKER_03]: Like you're going to have to be able to put it points and go toe to toe with some of these core Justin Herbert.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, God, that Friday night game.
- 18:15[SPEAKER_03]: He was freaking awesome.
- 18:18[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know if we're there yet.
- 18:19[SPEAKER_03]: So it's again, we come back to get up to stay healthy.
- 18:22[SPEAKER_03]: Quarterback has to take us to step forward.
- 18:25[SPEAKER_03]: Bonix is good enough as a rookie rookie contract quarterback.
- 18:29[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know if the team itself around him is laden with superstars
- 18:34[SPEAKER_03]: that kind of quarterback can get it done to win the Super Bowl.
- 18:37[SPEAKER_03]: But again, one game, what we saw for the Titans, not good enough, not who I expect Bonax to be the entire season.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and I'm not saying it was Sean Payton trying to show off and prove himself right with Bonax.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_01]: But the play calling suggests that was the case.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, when you start the game, the way they did.
- 18:57[SPEAKER_01]: And like, I mean, you talked about it last week, the issues with the run game, the rushing defense, and especially in the defense of front.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_01]: with Swet Simmons and the very underrated Sebastian Joseph Day against the run, who he had some really great plays for them as well.
- 19:13[SPEAKER_01]: Like it's understandable, but it still doesn't excuse calling, you know, 15 passes to three runs in your first 18 plays.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_01]: Or I think it was 22 passes to four runs.
- 19:25[SPEAKER_01]: They didn't try to get a run game going until late.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_01]: They just completely ignored it.
- 19:30[SPEAKER_01]: And that's an issue that I have with Sean Payne as a play caller.
- 19:33[SPEAKER_01]: Do I really think that was him trying to showcase Bownex?
- 19:35[SPEAKER_01]: Not really.
- 19:38[SPEAKER_01]: I think it was him understanding that they have some concerns about the run game and the Titans defense of front and they just didn't want to expose it.
- 19:45[SPEAKER_01]: Whereas I was feeling last week that Sean Payton would take this game and basically to the opposite try to get the run game going and get the weaknesses ironed out and then target the secondary, the weak secondary and the weak coverage at the Titans have and do that to make sure they can walk out with the win.
- 20:02[SPEAKER_01]: Kind of the opposite of what they actually did.
- 20:04[SPEAKER_01]: So, don't think it was Sean Payton trying to showcase, you know, Bonix and prove himself right there, but the play calling can definitely suggest that it was.
- 20:13[SPEAKER_03]: Crazy.
- 20:14[SPEAKER_03]: Well, it'll be curious to see what Denver does next week against the Indianapolis Colts, and I'm, I don't know the spread is yet, but I wonder if some people think Denver is an underdog in this upcoming game, consider it on the road and how they looked offensively.
- 20:28[SPEAKER_03]: But we do love an underdog Eric, not this week, maybe because Denver was the biggest favorite in the league and they didn't cover, but we do love ourselves in underdog.
- 20:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, speaking of underdog football is back.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_01]: And underdog is the best place to make picks and win money all season long, playing underdog is easy.
- 20:43[SPEAKER_01]: Just pick whether your favorite players will go higher or lower on stats like touchdowns, receiving arts, interceptions, and so much more.

- 21:06[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I have so much fun playing underdog and winning money.

- 21:56[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, make sure you guys are following them.
- 21:57[SPEAKER_03]: We got the great one coming in 499 saying 40 passes is ridiculous Sean is trying to pad both stats and it made things 10 times harder than it should have been Run the ball.
- 22:08[SPEAKER_03]: I can't tell if Eric's frozen or if that's just how his face looks You there Eric.
- 22:12[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, there he is.
- 22:12[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 22:13[SPEAKER_03]: I could do you were often space it looked like to me, but then
- 22:17[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I think this is a difference between an offensive coach and a defensive coach somewhat.
- 22:22[SPEAKER_03]: You have Sean Payton being the aggressor and really trying to take advantage of the Titans and where they're weak and avoid where the Broncos are weak right now.
- 22:32[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, we've sent it all season.
- 22:33[SPEAKER_03]: It was pretty obvious in this game, left garden center, not very good, specifically in run blocking.
- 22:39[SPEAKER_03]: The Titans strength of the defense, they're defensive tackles.
- 22:43[SPEAKER_03]: So if you're running the football, you're almost
- 22:46[SPEAKER_03]: I know you have to keep a balance, but I wanted to Sean Payton, it almost feels like you're seceding a down, right?
- 22:52[SPEAKER_03]: You're just doing it to your- you're burning it down.
- 22:54[SPEAKER_03]: You're wasting it because right, what inburg powers, not doing very good against Jeffrey Simmons and Devondrey Sweat, and obviously late enough you have to keep a balance, hopefully, Sean, I'll do that a little bit more, maybe some trickery, getting Mims involved in the run game, some sweeps, I don't know, but really heavy on the RPOs and this one.
- 23:14[SPEAKER_03]: I'm just, maybe I'm giving Sean a little bit too much credit.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_03]: I just, I feel like it's so important to win football games and the NFL.
- 23:21[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think Sean's going to do something detrimental or something as silly as simply trying to pad stats, but you never know.
- 23:29[SPEAKER_03]: The,
- 23:30[SPEAKER_03]: Colts, run defense, defensive tackles, not going to be as good as what we saw in this this game.
- 23:37[SPEAKER_03]: So Denver hopefully will run the ball a little bit more and great to see RJ Harvey with an explosive run.
- 23:41[SPEAKER_03]: Haven't seen many of those around these parts in a long time.
- 23:44[SPEAKER_03]: So that was awesome to see.
- 23:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it was the longest run by a Broncos in November of 2022.
- 23:50[SPEAKER_01]: his fifth year run for that and with the run game like it's it's tough because all three of the anterior you guys really sunk this game even when minors was bad he was struggling and that kind of speaks to the strength of the titans you know defensive run Sebastian Joseph day he whipped Quinn minors Jeffrey Simmons whipped Quinn minors to find this what and it's it's just tough when the running back that you used to pound the ball even more is very clearly shot in the
- 24:20[SPEAKER_01]: JK Dobbins, yeah, he had that big touchdown run.
- 24:23[SPEAKER_01]: It was a simple call.
- 24:24[SPEAKER_01]: It was a simple run.
- 24:26[SPEAKER_01]: And the Broncos ever since Sean Payton's come in here, they've always done the simple runs extremely well.
- 24:32[SPEAKER_01]: And then whenever that he gets a little bit creative with the run call, they fall flat on their face.
- 24:37[SPEAKER_01]: And JK Dobbins, there was another run where they tried to run them outside and he took him forever to get outside and even get back to line of scrimmage.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_01]: It was just rough.
- 24:47[SPEAKER_01]: Really been a fit.
- 24:48[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he's one of those guys that you know, you have to have the blocking up front.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_01]: Now he can't create for himself.
- 24:53[SPEAKER_01]: Whereas with RJ Harvey, you have that little bit more that explosive speed ring came from for himself.
- 24:58[SPEAKER_01]: And he was kind of able to do that.
- 24:59[SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't as cleanly blocked up front and Harvey was able to explode through and you know pick up the 50 yard chunk and even on the next play.
- 25:07[SPEAKER_01]: He still was a muddied front.
- 25:09[SPEAKER_01]: He didn't make pick up as many arms, but he still picked up a five yard gain on that.
- 25:13[SPEAKER_01]: 55 yards on two runs like all right, and like that's a pretty good sign.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_01]: He ended the day with only six runs and it's just questionable about how much especially and this is going back to last year to it's questionable how much Sean Peyton
- 25:27[SPEAKER_01]: Just pounce a rock with these running backs that clearly can't run the ball as well anymore did it last year with Javante Williams and when you have other guys who are doing a little bit more doing doing better than they are and you're sticking with these guys because they can block yet they're not being kept into block a whole lot on first and second down but you're still using them on first and second down.
- 25:49[SPEAKER_01]: It just goes back to some of those, you know, questionable things that Sean Peyton does and some of those kinks that you got to iron out with this offense because you can't if you're going to keep running, you know, JK Dobbins, who honest 16 runs, I think 13 of them went for one yard gain or less, like you just can't do that.
- 26:09[SPEAKER_01]: You want to talk about a wasted run.
- 26:10[SPEAKER_01]: There you go.
- 26:11[SPEAKER_01]: That's a that's a wasted down right there.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_03]: Well, it's not a waste as my given's coming in support in the show 1999.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you so much, Mike.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_03]: Hope you're doing well.
- 26:19[SPEAKER_03]: Happy victory Monday to you.
- 26:21[SPEAKER_03]: Appreciate the heck out of you.
- 26:23[SPEAKER_03]: Always coming in and supporting the show.
- 26:25[SPEAKER_03]: Zach Phillips, good to see you morning.
- 26:27[SPEAKER_03]: It's a W. Absolutely.
- 26:28[SPEAKER_03]: I did see Peter Middleton's in here.
- 26:30[SPEAKER_03]: Good to see you Peter.
- 26:31[SPEAKER_03]: Cam will be decent.
- 26:32[SPEAKER_03]: This will be a decent win at the end of the season.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know if it'll be decent.
- 26:35[SPEAKER_03]: I think the weaponry and the infrastructure in Tennessee is still not very good.
- 26:39[SPEAKER_03]: But again, the win is a win.
- 26:40[SPEAKER_03]: Will it be one of the Denver's top three wins this season?
- 26:43[SPEAKER_03]: God, I hope not.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_03]: But you know, you take it and you move on.
- 26:47[SPEAKER_03]: There's never apologize for winning in the league.
- 26:51[SPEAKER_03]: That's for damn sure.
- 26:53[SPEAKER_03]: of some positive there and we kind of talked about bonus just didn't leave me feeling very confident about bonus in this game.
- 27:00[SPEAKER_03]: But what I did one thing I think we will disagree on.
- 27:03[SPEAKER_03]: I thought Coral and Sutton had a pretty decent game.
- 27:05[SPEAKER_03]: Now I'm putting that
- 27:08[SPEAKER_03]: first bonus interception and people are going with me on Twitter too.
- 27:11[SPEAKER_03]: I think we have like some really strong bonus apologists to the point where it's extreme bias.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_03]: Could Sutton have attacked that football a little bit more?
- 27:19[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that player pulled off their zone and attacked with a lot of new things.
- 27:23[SPEAKER_03]: New they were there.
- 27:24[SPEAKER_03]: It wasn't like a man go moss that guy situation.
- 27:27[SPEAKER_03]: So I put that one 70% on bonus.
- 27:30[SPEAKER_03]: What are you doing?
- 27:31[SPEAKER_03]: Throwing that football.
- 27:32[SPEAKER_03]: in that situation.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_03]: In 30% in court, I'm like, go up stronger.
- 27:35[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
- 27:36[SPEAKER_03]: But I put that most down, but I thought, something that's pretty tough to catch is in this game.
- 27:40[SPEAKER_03]: I can't remember, he had a really tough, like second and third effort.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_03]: It might have come up just short for first down.
- 27:47[SPEAKER_03]: But one where it was like two yards short and he busted through a few people.
- 27:51[SPEAKER_03]: And I'll either got the first, almost got the first, uh,
- 27:54[SPEAKER_03]: Outside of again, going back to the offensive line, maybe it is Gary Bowles, but I thought Sutton was the best player that Broncos had on offense in this game, and what a beautiful touchdown, also from Bowenix, Portland, Son of a, I'd love to see somewhere that this season.
- 28:08[SPEAKER_01]: yeah, something was fine.
- 28:11[SPEAKER_01]: There were some issues on the edge blocking.
- 28:13[SPEAKER_01]: There was a couple routes where he seemed to kind of have asset a little bit, which when you are very clearly the favorite guy for your quarterback, you can't exactly do you?
- 28:23[SPEAKER_01]: On the intersection, I have a hard time seeing a tack the ball more just because the way his body was moving the momentum that he had and was carrying when he jumped up to get it, makes it a little bit difficult.
- 28:33[SPEAKER_01]: It was a little bit of a floater and I think he was expecting it to get their quicker.
- 28:37[SPEAKER_01]: and, you know, Roger McCurry just came in and pulled off his own and, you know, cut it short and undercut the route just ever so slightly to make the play great play by the defender.
- 28:47[SPEAKER_01]: And so, I don't know, it's tough on that intersection because in this is a conversation that I've had before with multiple people, um, with it is when your body's moving one way, it's hard to sit there in midair and jump as your body's still continuing to try to go forward to attack the ball a little bit more.
- 29:05[SPEAKER_01]: And that's one of those things where it's it's just it's just tough to do.
- 29:10[SPEAKER_01]: So overall he had a fine game that touch on was phenomenal, you know, just want to see that effort there every single snap from him, which has been it can's been an issue with them, you know, this whole career.
- 29:20[SPEAKER_01]: It's not something that I don't think is ever going to change you've used as a few reps every now and then as a little bit of a breather.
- 29:25[SPEAKER_01]: Um, which not ideal, but, you know, every receiver does it, I guess, but he was fine.
- 29:32[SPEAKER_01]: I would say Adam Trottman actually ended up having a pretty solid game.
- 29:35[SPEAKER_01]: He did pretty well as a blocker, a little really surprising.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_01]: Lucas Cole actually had did well as well.
- 29:40[SPEAKER_01]: Um, I would say Garrett Bulls was the best offense of Lyman at the very least.
- 29:44[SPEAKER_01]: Um, probably one of the better offensive players in general.
- 29:48[SPEAKER_01]: And so just a, on the offense, just a few guys that were, you know, good or finer decent or whatever, and it is a
- 29:59[SPEAKER_01]: not ideal when you only have you know three four guys that you can talk about in the positive note for the offense but you know we said it before when it's when it was the first game things were a little bit slow things were a little bit slow for quite a few teams in the NFL so I'm dude's got off to a hard start and it just seems to be the way of life still in the NFL as seems to figure out how to do it deal bigger things out with one less preseason game yeah air fishery this one
- 30:29[SPEAKER_01]: It's good to see you back in here.
- 30:30[SPEAKER_01]: It's been a long time since I've seen you in on one of the shows.
- 30:34[SPEAKER_01]: Glad to have you eclipse.
- 30:36[SPEAKER_03]: And Jeremy Sean's in here too.
- 30:37[SPEAKER_03]: Just wanted to stop in and say good morning to the boys.
- 30:39[SPEAKER_03]: Good to see you Jeremy.
- 30:40[SPEAKER_03]: Hope you're doing well.
- 30:41[SPEAKER_03]: I was appreciate you excited to see everybody at the meet and greet.
- 30:44[SPEAKER_03]: We got coach Chris coming and says our offensive line was horrible.
- 30:46[SPEAKER_03]: Then powers with the hell.
- 30:47[SPEAKER_03]: Bo needs to settle down.
- 30:48[SPEAKER_03]: I can count on one hand how many throws he actually set his feet.
- 30:52[SPEAKER_03]: Man, me too.
- 30:53[SPEAKER_03]: I think the team went into the game over the confident and fell flat wake up call.
- 30:56[SPEAKER_03]: I hope so I put it on Twitter, but they look like a team that was too busy sniffing their own hearts over the off season and they showed up
- 31:04[SPEAKER_03]: Expecting.
- 31:06[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, we just showed up.
- 31:07[SPEAKER_03]: So we should win not have a league works, man.
- 31:09[SPEAKER_03]: Not have a league works.
- 31:10[SPEAKER_03]: So from the offense.
- 31:11[SPEAKER_03]: So very bummed in the Offensive line didn't play great.
- 31:15[SPEAKER_03]: Bonix.
- 31:16[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know if you've seen it so far.
- 31:17[SPEAKER_03]: Eric again.
- 31:17[SPEAKER_03]: So one game sample size.
- 31:19[SPEAKER_03]: So it's not always the most indicative.
- 31:20[SPEAKER_03]: But he has the third worst EPA per play of any quarterback that's played so far.
- 31:25[SPEAKER_03]: So 28 out of 30.
- 31:27[SPEAKER_03]: The only quarterbacks who were worse are a Bryce Young and came word.
- 31:32[SPEAKER_03]: So
- 31:33[SPEAKER_03]: You know, Broncos defense happened.
- 31:34[SPEAKER_03]: Denver's defense on the EPA to play and Nick throws up on us.
- 31:44[SPEAKER_01]: Not sure what he's going to say about the defensive EPA.
- 31:46[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure was great and talking about some positive on the defense.
- 31:50[SPEAKER_01]: Nick Benito absolutely earned his contract.
- 31:53[SPEAKER_01]: So in 2024, the highest single game count owned pressures was six.
- 31:59[SPEAKER_01]: I'm back.
- 32:00[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_01]: Nick Benito had nine partners three more pressures in the league lead.
- 32:05[SPEAKER_01]: And I think we'll get much here.
- 32:09[SPEAKER_03]: I did see that pressure at Doran's Armstrong also had nine this week and Jeffrey Simmons had eight yesterday, somebody sure, I think Ryan Fowler shared it on Twitter, so not great from the interior offensive line for the Broncos on that one, when 40 past stamps though, I mean, not just in terms of one, Simmons also beat Mike McClunchy for a pressure as well.
- 32:27[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, he did.
- 32:28[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, he did.
- 32:29[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, good to see you coach Chris.
- 32:30[SPEAKER_03]: I appreciate you so much.
- 32:32[SPEAKER_03]: I did want to get in some positives in the last, you know, 5 10 minutes that we're in here.
- 32:35[SPEAKER_03]: You've been you already mentioned it.
- 32:36[SPEAKER_03]: Nick Benito, what a game I know that you and I have always we've been.
- 32:40[SPEAKER_03]: Critical Nick Benito being a complete player, but if Denver's offense can put a little bit more pressure on early, and we can be in a situation where it's an obvious dropback past situation from the opposing offenses.
- 32:54[SPEAKER_03]: Nick Benito could lead lead lead in sex.
- 32:57[SPEAKER_03]: I think pretty easily.
- 32:58[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, the nine pressures he looked so fast out of his stance in this one, just blowing by Dan Mordin, we're didn't have a chance in a lot of it.
- 33:07[SPEAKER_03]: Shout out the nickname Cooper also had an awesome game and Ellis.
- 33:10[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, one of our preseason predictions was we're not going to know who edge one is and man, they were They were all awesome in this game.
- 33:21[SPEAKER_03]: So really happy about the addressers.
- 33:23[SPEAKER_03]: Next guy want to shout out because I know that he's Maybe it maybe it's one of my guys because I feel like I see way too much slander on Twitter and it's just like
- 33:31[SPEAKER_03]: get educated.
- 33:31[SPEAKER_03]: It was like Riley Moss in this one.
- 33:34[SPEAKER_03]: He had a heck of a game.
- 33:36[SPEAKER_03]: He's going to get targeted and there's going to be some times this season where he's going to give a big pass or a pass in appearance because teams are specifically going to scheme to target him down the field because they're going to be avoiding PS2 and it's just the ball's got to go somewhere.
- 33:51[SPEAKER_03]: Moss had an unbelievable game.
- 33:54[SPEAKER_03]: In phase plays on the football.
- 33:56[SPEAKER_03]: I know there's going to be some I'm already
- 34:00[SPEAKER_03]: He's going to get some players or some penalties further on in the season, but what a game from Riley Moss, looking healthy, playing great, he's a heck of a corner back to and happy that Denver has him and we need to, you know, stand up for him.
- 34:16[SPEAKER_03]: Because again, it's ball's going to go his way when you play an opposite PS2.
- 34:19[SPEAKER_03]: It's just going to happen.
- 34:21[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, when you have PS2 lock and down the top receiver, I mean, he didn't allow a single catch and he was on Calvin really for 27 of the 32 routes, Calvin really ran.
- 34:32[SPEAKER_01]: So when you're playing opposite that, yeah, you're going to get targeted.
- 34:36[SPEAKER_01]: I don't care how good of a corner you are.
- 34:39[SPEAKER_01]: If you get targeted almost 100 times, like Riley Moss was, but by sure, I think he was talking almost 90 times.
- 34:46[SPEAKER_01]: You're gonna give up catch.
- 34:47[SPEAKER_01]: You're gonna give up place.
- 34:48[SPEAKER_01]: It's gonna happen.
- 34:49[SPEAKER_01]: You're gonna get called for penalties.
- 34:51[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to happen.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, Moss allowed some, but he made up for it.
- 34:56[SPEAKER_01]: He had some really big place.
- 34:57[SPEAKER_01]: He had one absolutely phenomenal play, working downhill as a run defender.
- 35:01[SPEAKER_01]: Um, that, you know, stop the bleeding from some bad stuff up front and made a big play.
- 35:07[SPEAKER_01]: He just had a really great game and he was a guy, one of those guys who definitely stood out.
- 35:12[SPEAKER_01]: And I would say he'd probably be like third or fourth best if I had to, you know, rank them in terms of how well they did third or fourth best defender.
- 35:22[SPEAKER_01]: Only once I would very clearly say we're bigger and more impactful, we're Nick Benito and Justin Strenaud.
- 35:28[SPEAKER_01]: And on Nick Benito, the one big area that you and I have both hammered on is run defense and developing more as a password, sure, with more variety doesn't look like he's had a whole lot of variety to his game, but what he did was make sure that his speed has burst and his ability to predict the snap count improved even more.
- 35:46[SPEAKER_01]: He predictably had a huge game against the Morgionier who is a terrible obstacle, despite the amount of money that the Titans paid him, Drew multiple whole things, and there are multiple other, other plays where he very easily could have gotten hit for holding.
- 36:00[SPEAKER_01]: Nick Manido and Jonas, John Ellis, both gave him issues.
- 36:04[SPEAKER_01]: And as a run defender, I would say that one, he did show a little bit of improvement here.
- 36:08[SPEAKER_01]: He did, I'm not sure what it's called by the Broncos, but I know Bill Kohler, the shoulder check, where he sits there and he drives his inside shoulder into the defender to keep them off, so he can go and make a play if they running back, cut it out.
- 36:20[SPEAKER_01]: He did that multiple times, had two plays against the run.
- 36:23[SPEAKER_01]: But it was him cut Jason down from the backside, wearing he's using his speed and explosiveness.
- 36:27[SPEAKER_01]: That's going to be his biggest impact as a run defender is that, but seeing him shoulder check to sit there and keep himself in positioning and keep himself the offensive lineman off him.
- 36:35[SPEAKER_01]: That was nice, because that was a missing element.
- 36:37[SPEAKER_01]: And when you're as explosive as he is, that is a good way to, you know, set an edge.
- 36:42[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, no doubt.
- 36:45[SPEAKER_03]: Some final takeaways here, Eric.
- 36:47[SPEAKER_03]: The Broncos,
- 36:49[SPEAKER_03]: really should have beaten the Titans pretty good.
- 36:51[SPEAKER_03]: This and that's, I don't think, I disagree with the chat.
- 36:53[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think that's a good team across the way and have Denver win a football game despite being negative two in the turnover differential and turning it over the ball four times and especially with where they were turning the football over to.
- 37:07[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, that was some should have been some points.
- 37:09[SPEAKER_03]: Obviously, the yet points come off the bonix at first interception.
- 37:14[SPEAKER_03]: I can't believe he didn't have points off the Marvin Mim's muff pun.
- 37:17[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, they had the ball at the 30 or something to the 20.
- 37:20[SPEAKER_03]: And then he hit those back to back massive sacks to push him back.
- 37:25[SPEAKER_03]: But Denver got kind of lucky in this one.
- 37:28[SPEAKER_03]: Because like down to down, they dominated the Titans.
- 37:31[SPEAKER_03]: But when you have the turnovers, like Denver did heck.
- 37:35[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, can we even throw in the fourth downs as turnovers two over two?
- 37:38[SPEAKER_03]: On fourth down, I believe off the top of my head.
- 37:41[SPEAKER_03]: I can't remember two.
- 37:41[SPEAKER_03]: I can't remember them converting to fourth down.
- 37:45[SPEAKER_03]: they lost a lot of areas that against a much more even opponent puts the in trouble.
- 37:52[SPEAKER_03]: And this one shouldn't have been a one score game.
- 37:54[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I think I saw Sam Hoppen on Twitter releases this every week, the success rate, the net success rate of each team, and Denver had the largest margin.
- 38:04[SPEAKER_03]: So that's the shout out to the defense.
- 38:05[SPEAKER_03]: They did not give up down to down.
- 38:07[SPEAKER_03]: They were pretty dominant against a overwhelmed Titan's team, but to
- 38:12[SPEAKER_03]: Denver played with their food to some extent, and it was good enough to win this week.
- 38:18[SPEAKER_03]: There's probably only four other opponents in the league that Denver could play as sloppy as they did in offense, and still come away with a comfortable win.
- 38:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and do you know what the great equalizer is when you lose the turnover battle penalties and then doesn't matter how many how many turn well I shouldn't say it doesn't matter how many turnovers you have but when you have 13 penalties called against you for 100 and 30 somebody yards 140 somebody odds
- 38:49[SPEAKER_01]: that kind of balances out with it with it and it kept a some Broncos drives alive.
- 38:55[SPEAKER_01]: Some were good call, some were bad calls and the Broncos, same, it goes both ways.
- 39:00[SPEAKER_01]: The Broncos had some good calls and they had some bad ones.
- 39:03[SPEAKER_01]: Sure field second holding call was not holding and I'm so tired of announcers and reps constantly, you know, protruding misinformation about what is holding, but that's beside the point.
- 39:13[SPEAKER_01]: So penalties were a big deal with it.
- 39:14[SPEAKER_01]: This was an area where last year the Broncos struggled with.
- 39:17[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, in all but two of their losses last year, the Broncos were penalized far more than the other team and they had almost 200 yards more in those losses and penalties than, you know, they're opponents did.
- 39:28[SPEAKER_01]: combined.
- 39:29[SPEAKER_01]: So it's rough to overcome penalties, and so penalties can balance out those.
- 39:34[SPEAKER_01]: With the fourth downplays, they're 0 and 2.
- 39:37[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously that hurts.
- 39:38[SPEAKER_01]: You mentioned it earlier, the one where to bond race what absolutely blew it up in the middle on a bonus sneak.
- 39:44[SPEAKER_01]: And that leads two things I wanted to add about that earlier.
- 39:47[SPEAKER_01]: One.
- 39:48[SPEAKER_01]: What a great call by the Titans.
- 39:51[SPEAKER_01]: They were actually set in the spread alignment where sweat was actually lined up against Quinn Miners.
- 39:56[SPEAKER_01]: I believe on the outside shoulder, outside shade of Miners, in fact.
- 40:01[SPEAKER_01]: And you hear Bonix, he else kill, kill, kill, kill, kill.
- 40:05[SPEAKER_01]: and he starts his hot one hot two and on hot two, they close the gap.
- 40:09[SPEAKER_01]: They instead of being spread, they're now pinched.
- 40:12[SPEAKER_01]: So they really, they know what's coming and they did their film work on it and they absolutely baited Bonix and to call in call on that.
- 40:19[SPEAKER_01]: So I would offer because of that, I would like to see, you know, a fake sneak toss thrown in, just something
- 40:28[SPEAKER_01]: and you know give yourself give your offense another option for it.
- 40:32[SPEAKER_01]: If they're going to sit there and set up for a bonus sneak on fork down because Denver did that bonus sneak like four times up to that point already.
- 40:40[SPEAKER_01]: Throw on another element off of that to keep defenses honest.
- 40:44[SPEAKER_03]: I'm sure we will see a wrinkle like that at some point.
- 40:46[SPEAKER_03]: It could even be on that toss.
- 40:48[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe it's mums on a jet sweep or kind of just net motion.
- 40:52[SPEAKER_03]: We'll see, but that was a good job by the
- 40:58[SPEAKER_03]: We hearted about the defense, maybe being regressed in regression candidates.
- 41:02[SPEAKER_03]: And then I feel like at some point, maybe it was August, we're like, oh, maybe the offensive line.
- 41:07[SPEAKER_03]: You know, or maybe it's some of the system and Bonix and Sean Peyton helping them out.
- 41:12[SPEAKER_03]: The not great game from the offensive line.
- 41:14[SPEAKER_03]: Mike Munglitchy has said so as much.
- 41:16[SPEAKER_03]: Also, he had had the credit to the defense and said that the offense was way too sloppy.
- 41:21[SPEAKER_03]: Turned them all over too many times.
- 41:22[SPEAKER_03]: Too many laws didn't convert enough on third-downs.
- 41:24[SPEAKER_03]: All above, we've got to get better.
- 41:26[SPEAKER_03]: Offensive offensive line in general.
- 41:27[SPEAKER_03]: very true.
- 41:28[SPEAKER_03]: So with Denver's defense playing like I did, if we get this version of Jeremy Krasha, Denver's going to be in every game unless they are turning the ball over four times.
- 41:39[SPEAKER_03]: And I do, I did appreciate Bonix.
- 41:42[SPEAKER_03]: He was calm, you know, in his press conference, everything like that.
- 41:44[SPEAKER_03]: He did.
- 41:46[SPEAKER_03]: take some blame, though, for the strip sack.
- 41:50[SPEAKER_03]: Said I got to add two hands on the football.
- 41:52[SPEAKER_03]: It's been a long time since these had a strip sack.
- 41:54[SPEAKER_03]: So that's something he'd been pretty good at, not taking sacks and not coughing up the football.
- 41:58[SPEAKER_03]: Didn't that case, not good, not great from the Broncos offense.
- 42:01[SPEAKER_03]: Too many turnovers, too sloppy, but luckily the defense special teams doesn't have to be a very overwhelmed Titans overall team in this one.
- 42:10[SPEAKER_03]: So, again,
- 42:13[SPEAKER_03]: Well, is it the most dominating game or we, you know, given a plus as every single player across the board?
- 42:17[SPEAKER_03]: No, it does seem like Denver avoided major injury.
- 42:20[SPEAKER_03]: We'll find out about Evan Engerms calf.
- 42:22[SPEAKER_03]: That'll be a bummer if he's out there for a bit, especially that that'll be two or your three major off scene season signings already missing chunks of time, which is not what you want.
- 42:33[SPEAKER_03]: And it kind of talked about that this off season also like.
- 42:37[SPEAKER_03]: You know, the, what is it not immovable force versus a unstoppable object with the signings they had in the injuries they had versus how good the Broncos have been with the keeping players off the injury report since Sean Peyton got here.
- 42:50[SPEAKER_03]: We'll see.
- 42:51[SPEAKER_03]: But overall just happy to have the win and ready to move on to Indianapolis, which should be a pretty good game.
- 42:58[SPEAKER_03]: We'll talk a lot about that on Wednesday.
- 43:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 43:01[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's, I watched a little bit of that game.
- 43:05[SPEAKER_01]: They
- 43:07[SPEAKER_01]: surprisingly good.
- 43:08[SPEAKER_01]: I think everybody was expecting a mess after the quarterback battle that was going on.
- 43:12[SPEAKER_01]: One thing I would say though is that those white receivers, their body language, their behavior on the field, vastly different from when Richard Sidwanzen and
- 43:24[SPEAKER_01]: That's that's helping a lot.
- 43:25[SPEAKER_01]: They're given more effort with Daniel Jones in somebody who can, you know, reliably throw the ball and you know, reliably let them to try to go and make plays more instead of Richardson who knows what kind of thought you're going to get your way.
- 43:40[SPEAKER_01]: So can't wait to dig into that and break it down.
- 43:42[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to go over that game a little bit later today for breaking it down.
- 43:46[SPEAKER_01]: But as for the Broncos, again, we've said it multiple times.
- 43:50[SPEAKER_01]: They won.
- 43:51[SPEAKER_01]: That's where we stand.
- 43:52[SPEAKER_01]: They had some good joys on defense.
- 43:56[SPEAKER_01]: And particularly some things to still clean up.
- 43:57[SPEAKER_01]: Wasn't all perfect watching some of those rotations.
- 44:03[SPEAKER_01]: I wonder, though, how
- 44:06[SPEAKER_01]: the difference of line personal groupings.
- 44:08[SPEAKER_01]: I wonder how much of that change and was an issue that popped up because of the late injury to Malcolm Roach.
- 44:14[SPEAKER_01]: And then being put on injury reserve and now that they're, you know, past that they can sit there and change things up and correct it with a little bit more time for the cold.
- 44:24[SPEAKER_01]: There's something that's complaining to offensively a lot to work on, Ben Powers was awful, Luke Wattonberg was awful, the miners wasn't much better.
- 44:31[SPEAKER_01]: Mike Mulganthey was, you know, overall he was decent, had some really bad moments.
- 44:35[SPEAKER_01]: Got to get improvement from this offensive line, I think Luke Wattonberg and Ben Powers are definitely on borrowed time.
- 44:41[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's inevitable that they're both
- 44:44[SPEAKER_01]: gone after this season at this point and you know, gotta find some of those guys to step up, but some guys on offense who I wasn't expecting good to game from stepped up, Adam Trottman, Lucas Crowle got to get more out of the running game, but it was week one again with the one last preseason game.
- 45:02[SPEAKER_01]: We've seen a lot of teams start that season a little bit uglier.
- 45:06[SPEAKER_01]: Show a lot of those wrinkles that need to be ironed out and
- 45:10[SPEAKER_01]: You know, despite my issues with Sean Peyton with his play calling and some of the decision making, he's a good coach.
- 45:16[SPEAKER_01]: He's a great coach and I would expect a lot of these wrinkles to get earned out and or at least bandits put on and a better showing going forward from his Broncos offense.
- 45:27[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, we're out there yet, but I am curious if they'll be calls for Forsyth and Palchetsky at some
- 45:36[SPEAKER_03]: uh... but i didn't want to say a little Patrick aloha great to see a Patrick good to see a near i also saw our guy keep brugman uh... low half of the cup of coconut roast from line coffee appreciate your key and we're going to get on out of here shout out to our super chat folks in this one that come in after that bronco's done my caron kio try poor of course we got to the great one might give us coach Chris you guys are all awesome uh... thank you so much for your contributions and if you can't do that make sure you become a member

- 46:34[SPEAKER_03]: We we spoke our piece.
- 46:36[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know Not the best game from Bonyx not the best game from the offensive line
- 46:41[SPEAKER_03]: Denver won this one.
- 46:42[SPEAKER_03]: It was not as close as the score indicates defense looks awesome.
- 46:47[SPEAKER_03]: Got time to figure some stuff out and to win a game with a negative two turnover margin is an indicative of a team that has a lot of a group for growth to be much better still.
- 46:58[SPEAKER_03]: So excited for the season still all the same.
- 47:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah and you know not to harp on them too much more but Sean Payton get those plays in a little bit faster, man.
- 47:07[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you are really, it didn't come into a, uh, wasn't an issue, but having to waste that time out early on because they, they didn't break the Huddle to less than 10 seconds left.
- 47:18[SPEAKER_01]: And Bonax wasn't able to make adjustments.
- 47:20[SPEAKER_01]: They won't able to get lined up.
- 47:22[SPEAKER_01]: That's not great.
- 47:23[SPEAKER_01]: It ended up not mattering because of how badly the Titans, but churned the end of hat first half play calling.
- 47:30[SPEAKER_01]: But it could have really came back to bite them in the butt and against teams like the Eagles, the Chiefs, the commanders, the Texans, the Chargers, the Bengals, you can't have those kinds of issues.
- 47:41[SPEAKER_01]: You've got to be able to give bonus time to read the defense and make adjustments without having to rush through it.
- 47:47[SPEAKER_01]: And basically, you've got to be breaking the huddle with pretty quickly.
- 47:50[SPEAKER_01]: So Sean Paine's got to get that play calling in a little bit quicker.
- 47:54[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 47:56[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, man.
- 47:59[SPEAKER_03]: Overall, it's good to get the dub.
- 48:00[SPEAKER_03]: Appreciate everyone.

- 48:15[SPEAKER_03]: And we'll start talking about Indy on Wednesday.
- 48:19[SPEAKER_03]: But have a great one.
