Transcript
- 0:02Welcome to Bible Chat, where we have devotional conversations
- 0:06rooted in Scripture and relevant for today, April 10th.
- 0:11The right path matters. A wrong turn can happen so
- 0:15easily. Sometimes in travel, sometimes
- 0:18in relationships, sometimes in the hidden direction of your
- 0:21heart. You think you are fine, and then
- 0:24suddenly you realize you are farther from where you were
- 0:27meant to be than you expected. Proverbs chapter 14 verse 8 says
- 0:32the wisdom of the prudent is to discern his way.
- 0:35Psalm chapter 41 verse 4 says, O Lord, be gracious to me, heal
- 0:39me, for I have sinned against you.
- 0:42And in Mark chapter 10 verse 52, Jesus tells the blind man, go
- 0:46your way. Your faith has made you well.
- 0:50And immediately the man receives sight and follows him on the
- 0:53way. That is such a powerful picture.
- 0:56He was not only healed, he was redirected.
- 0:59His eyes were opened, and he began to follow Jesus.
- 1:02That is what God's wisdom does. It does not just help you avoid
- 1:06disaster. It opens your eyes so you can
- 1:09walk in the right direction. There are times when we need
- 1:12clarity because we truly do not know what to do.
- 1:16But there are also times when we need honesty because deep down
- 1:19we already know we have been ignoring God's direction.
- 1:23David's prayer in Psalm chapter 41 is so important because he
- 1:27does not pretend. He admits his need for mercy and
- 1:31healing. And that is often where
- 1:33discernment begins, with honesty before God.
- 1:36The right path matters because direction shapes destination.
- 1:39Small choices matter. Quiet compromises matter.
- 1:44Repeated habits matter. But so does faith.
- 1:47The blind man trusted Jesus before he could see, and then
- 1:50his sight led him into a new way of living.
- 1:53Today, ask God not just to bless your path, but to reveal it.
- 1:57Ask Him to show you where you are drifting, where you need
- 2:00healing, and where you need courage to obey.
- 2:03He does not only want to rescue you when you are lost, He wants
- 2:06to teach you how to walk closely with Him.
- 2:08Let's pray. Heavenly Father, thank You that
- 2:11you see the whole path even when I cannot give me wisdom to
- 2:15discern what is right, humility to admit where I need healing,
- 2:19and faith to follow You with confidence.
- 2:22Open my eyes to anything that is leading me away from You and
- 2:26guide my steps into truth, peace, and purpose.
- 2:29Help me stay close to You and walk the way You desire for me
- 2:32in Jesus name, Amen. What if you could rise up and
- 2:39declare with full spiritual authority, I shall not die, but

- 3:36Now I invite you to spend time with God in today's three-year
- 3:39Bible reading plan. Proverbs chapter 14 verses 8 to
- 3:449 World English Bible The wisdom of the prudent is to think about
- 3:48his way. But the folly of fools is
- 3:50deceit. Fools mock at making atonement
- 3:53for sins, but among the upright there is goodwill.
- 3:56Psalm chapter 41 World English Bible for the chief musician A
- 4:01Psalm by David. Blessed is he who considers the
- 4:05poor. Yahweh will deliver him in the
- 4:07day of evil. Yahweh will preserve him and
- 4:10keep him alive. He shall be blessed on the earth
- 4:14and He will not surrender him to the will of His enemies.
- 4:17Yahweh will sustain him on His sick bed and restore him from
- 4:20His bed of illness. I said Yahweh, have mercy on me,
- 4:24heal me, for I have sinned against you.
- 4:26My enemies speak evil against me.
- 4:28When will He die and His name perish?
- 4:31If He comes to see me? He speaks falsehood.
- 4:34His heart gathers iniquity to itself.
- 4:36When He goes abroad, He tells it All who hate me whisper together
- 4:40against me. They imagine the worst for me.
- 4:43An evil disease they say, has afflicted him.
- 4:46Now that he lies, he shall rise up no more.
- 4:49Yes, my own familiar friend in whom I trusted, who ate bread
- 4:53with me, has lifted up his heel against me.
- 4:56But you, Yahweh, have mercy on me and raise me up that I may
- 5:00repay them. By this.
- 5:01I know that you delighted me because my enemy doesn't triumph
- 5:05over me. As for me, you uphold me in my
- 5:08integrity and set me in your presence forever.
- 5:11Blessed be Yahweh, the God of Israel, from everlasting and to
- 5:14everlasting, Amen and Amen. Mark chapter 10 World English
- 5:20Bible. He arose from there and came
- 5:22into the borders of Judea and beyond the Jordan.
- 5:25Multitudes came together to him again, as he usually did.
- 5:28He was again teaching them. Pharisees came to him, testing
- 5:32him, and asked him, Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?
- 5:36He answered, What did Moses command you?
- 5:39They said Moses allowed a certificate of divorce to be
- 5:43written and to divorce her. But Jesus said to them, For your
- 5:47hardness of heart, he wrote you this commandment.
- 5:50But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and
- 5:53female. For this cause a man will leave
- 5:56his father and mother and will join to his wife, and the two
- 6:00will become one flesh, so that they are no longer 2, but one
- 6:03flesh. What therefore God has joined
- 6:06together? Let no man separate in the
- 6:09house. His disciples asked Him again
- 6:11about the same matter. He said to them, Whoever
- 6:15divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against
- 6:18her. If a woman herself divorces her
- 6:21husband and marries another, she commits adultery.
- 6:25They were bringing to him little children, that he should touch
- 6:28them, But the disciples rebuked those who are bringing them.
- 6:33But when Jesus saw it, he was moved with indignation and said
- 6:36to them, Allow the little children to come to me, don't
- 6:39forbid them, for God's Kingdom belongs to such as these.
- 6:44Most certainly I tell you, whoever will not receive God's
- 6:47Kingdom like a little child, he will in no way enter into it.
- 6:51He took them in his arms and blessed them, laying his hands
- 6:54on them. As he was going out into the
- 6:56way, one ran to him, knelt before him, and asked him, Good
- 7:00teacher, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?
- 7:04Jesus said to him, Why do you call me good?
- 7:07No one is good except one God. You know the commandments, do
- 7:12not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not
- 7:15give false testimony, do not defraud, honor your father and
- 7:18mother. He said to him, Teacher, I have
- 7:22observed all these things from my youth.
- 7:24Jesus looking at him, loved him and said to him, One thing you
- 7:28lack, Go sell whatever you have, and give to the poor, and you
- 7:32will have treasure in heaven, and come follow me taking up the
- 7:35cross. But his face fell at that
- 7:38saying, and he went away sorrowful, for he was one who
- 7:41had great possessions. Jesus looked around and said to
- 7:45his disciples, How difficult it is for those who have riches to
- 7:49enter into God's Kingdom. The disciples were amazed at his
- 7:53words, but Jesus answered again, Children, how hard it is for
- 7:58those who trust in riches to enter into God's Kingdom.
- 8:02It is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye than for
- 8:05a rich man to enter into God's Kingdom.
- 8:07They were exceedingly astonished, saying to him, Then
- 8:10Who can be saved? Jesus, looking at them, said,
- 8:15With men it is impossible, but not with God, for all things are
- 8:18possible with God. Peter began to tell him, Behold,
- 8:21we have left all and have followed you.
- 8:24Jesus said, most certainly. I tell you there is no one who
- 8:28has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or
- 8:31wife or children or land, for my sake and for the sake of the
- 8:35good news. But he will receive 100 times
- 8:39more. Now in this time houses,
- 8:41brothers, sisters, mothers, children and land with
- 8:44persecutions and in the age to come eternal life.
- 8:49But many who are first will be last, and the last first.
- 8:52They were on the way, going up to Jerusalem, and Jesus was
- 8:55going in front of them, and they were amazed.
- 8:58And those who followed were afraid.
- 9:00He again took the 12 and began to tell them the things that
- 9:04were going to happen to him. Behold, we are going up to
- 9:07Jerusalem. The Son of Man will be delivered
- 9:10to the chief priests and the scribes.
- 9:13They will condemn him to death and will deliver him to the
- 9:15Gentiles. They will mock him, spit on him,
- 9:18scourge him, and kill him. On the third day he will rise
- 9:22again. James and John, the sons of
- 9:25Zebedee, came near to him saying, Teacher, we want you to
- 9:28do for us whatever we will ask. He said to them, What do you
- 9:32want me to do for you? They said to him, Grant to us
- 9:35that we may sit one at your right hand and one at your left
- 9:38hand in your glory. But Jesus said to them, You
- 9:42don't know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup
- 9:45that I drink, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am
- 9:48baptized with? They said to him, We are able.
- 9:52Jesus said to them, You shall indeed drink the cup that I
- 9:56drink, and you shall be baptized with the baptism that I am
- 9:59baptized with. But to sit at my right hand and
- 10:02at my left hand is not mine to give, but for whom it has been
- 10:06prepared. When the 10 heard it, they began
- 10:09to be indignant toward James and John.
- 10:12Jesus summoned them and said to them, You know that they who are
- 10:16recognized as rulers over the nation's, lorded over them, and
- 10:19they're great ones, exercise authority over them.
- 10:23But it shall not be so among you.
- 10:25But whoever wants to become great among you shall be your
- 10:28servant. Whoever of you wants to become
- 10:30first among you shall be bond servant of all.
- 10:33For the Son of Man also came not to be served, but to serve and
- 10:37to give his life as a ransom for many.
- 10:40They came to Jericho. As he went out from Jericho with
- 10:43his disciples and a great multitude, the son of Timius
- 10:47Bartimaeus, a blind beggar, was sitting by the road.
- 10:51When he heard that it was Jesus the Nazarene.
- 10:53He began to cry out and say, Jesus, you son of David, have
- 10:57mercy on me. Many rebuked him that he should
- 11:00be quiet, but he cried out much more.
- 11:03You son of David, have mercy on me.
- 11:05Jesus stood still and said, Call him.
- 11:07They called the blind man saying to him, Cheer up, get up, he is
- 11:12calling you. He casting away his cloak,
- 11:14sprang up and came to Jesus. Jesus asked him, what do you
- 11:18want me to do for you? The blind man said to him,
- 11:21Rabboni, that I may see again. Jesus said to him, go your way,
- 11:26your faith has made you well. Immediately he received his
- 11:29sight and followed Jesus on the way.
