- speaker-0: Show us your tips, Daggy and Beaver, with you for a weekend preview. Hey traveling beaver. speaker-1: Yeah, travelling well. Thanks, Daggy. Looking forward to the ⁓ weekend. I'm hoping ⁓ the weather doesn't look good ⁓ at both venues potentially. So ⁓ fingers crossed that it holds up and we get some good racing. speaker-0: Yeah, ⁓ Flemington I think is in a bit of trouble to be honest, but we'll save that for second. ⁓ they're gonna make a a call in the morning. It's been how much rain they get as to whether that meeting actually goes ahead or not. So ⁓ a very wet track there. They've copped some rain and we've got rain coming in Sydney ⁓ this afternoon, I believe. speaker-1: Yeah, it says there's rain hitting this afternoon and ⁓ potentially tomorrow. chance of up to twenty mils, so ⁓ that doesn't look all that great. speaker-0: No. ⁓ we will as I just look now, yeah. ⁓ not as bad as it was before, but rain tomorrow. But ⁓ I've worked on a rain affected track at Roundwick anyway. Don't think gets too heavy unless we get rain through in the afternoon. We'll start there 'cause it is Epsom date is one of the better racing days on the calendar, to be honest. So hopefully we do get to go ahead. Rail goes into the True and as I said, probably looking at the soft seven borderline heavy if the rain does come in the afternoon. I suggest you'd probably well, typical rail mic, last man standing sort of thing if it's wet and come down the outside not with not too many issues. ⁓ we kick off with a midway over eighteen hundred metres. And what are we doing in the first? speaker-1: Yeah. Yeah, an interesting way to start the day here in the midway. I'm going to stick with Columbus. It's a horse that I have been ⁓ kind of following this preparation and bounced back to a really nice win, got the right run at Ramwick class start over the 1800. Probably in a fairly similar field to this. It's drawn well enough. I think if it can pose it up, ⁓ J Mac can probably ⁓ steer this one home. ⁓ I think the main danger is the second favourite, ⁓ and that's Dorados. It's flying this preparation. It was again another horse at Canterbury. ⁓ Again, probably a bit more midweek company. But that was impressive enough in the benchmark 72. So it stays at a benchmark 72 here. It's on pace and might prove hard to run down with the services of Nash. speaker-0: ⁓ yeah, I put it on top, Doradas. Just 'cause I think it's the sole leader. I I think it leads and then Northern Ice tries to keep up, but that horse hasn't been with us for a while. ⁓ so with Nash getting control we don't have good ease there. ⁓ and the run even the run behind Proximina Dia, either s inside the ⁓ in between the two Canterbury winds was quite good, so I liked that. ⁓ Scared of Columbus and I thought are they your favourite colours, those Columbus colours? You love those colours. The speaker-1: ⁓ they're not bad. speaker-0: Harrowfield. Anyway, ⁓ I thought All-Star was good last time behind Baron Gary. Next best. The second is the Breeders Plate. The two-year-olds step out for the first time. ⁓ and the weather makes it interesting. The Breeders Plate is the boys version, comes up first. I think this is a good little race here. I I've end with Nonu on top. And Off the nice trails. Trailed wheel. Should find the fence from gate three or close enough to it, which always helps. And if it does rain, they're out of animo. ⁓ he handled the weather right, so I'm hoping that's a positive as well. ⁓ Proverbs been scratched, Fiji's been scratched, so I can't mention them. Proverb if it goes to Melbourne or run well when we get there. ⁓ I'll leave it there. I think there's some other good trailers here. What do you like? speaker-1: Yeah, I thought Nanu's trial was pretty good as well. from the Baker stable here, you're right, it's ⁓ got the breeding of animo and Asafar was a fairly decent horse itself. this wasn't this wasn't a cheap yearling, so expecting it to have a bit of ability and by ⁓ if it reproduces what it did in the trial, it's gonna be super hard to beat. speaker-0: The third is the Phillies edition, it's the Gym Crack Steaks. What do we like here? speaker-1: Yeah, this this was this was really hard to line up here. Yep. wasn't sure which way to go here. I've landed on Schrader from the Friedman stable, out of the Ollie Kirk spicy form. ⁓ again, I thought its trial was quite nice, wasn't hard asked to do a lot, ⁓ and run fairly comfortably. so I'm I think it can run really well again. Again, you're not sure about who's gonna handle what in the going and if there's any bias here in the track. ⁓ I had cheeser blaze ⁓ the from the Snowden stable. I thought that was a very nice trial as well as the main danger. speaker-0: Yeah, I ⁓ I like She's a Blaze trial and I thought I'd have a small bet on She's Supreme gate one. I thought the trial was good. And should just tuck in straight behind the leader, I hope. So I I can't imagine I'd be being too big in any of these races, but the two I had ⁓ that gave me the most interest were She's Supreme and She's a Blaze. ⁓ obviously we'll learn more as they get out onto the racetrack. The third is the listed Dulcifier over sixteen hundred meters. Fourth it is, in fact. That comes after three. ⁓ the I've just had to put end to having to put Genesis runner on top favourite. ⁓ this is essentially a benchmark sixty-six. ⁓ yeah, and it's on set weights with the rest of ⁓ the run was was fine last start in a stronger race, but I think that's probably enough for this. and I thought the one that The other interesting runner coming off a win out wide was ⁓ Hazumi. But that was a nice win. I think a mile's gonna suit it. I know it started hundreds against a couple of these a few starts back, but that was a warm-up run. ⁓ so I just had an eye on it, but now I've just noticed Jennison running his odds on and probably fair enough. What do you think? speaker-1: Yeah, a few scratchings here that has brought it into odds on. It does look this the clear standout pick in this race. given its previous runs. There was nothing wrong with the fourth last start. it's had the one win ⁓ on the for one start on the heavy going, and prior to that at Rose Hill, pretty good behind a fairly decent horse in plagiarism, I think. and won comfortably in on the heavy at Newcastle over the thirteen hundred. I think the sixteen hundred now ⁓ is perfect and definitely the horse to beat. ⁓ Close eye on Monka ⁓ stepped up to the 1550 ⁓ last start, albeit in a maiden, but it beat unhinged and hinged one very nicely yesterday. ⁓ So that form has been franked. ⁓ So suspect it's got a bit of ability, goes to the heavy going for the first time. So yeah interesting how it'll run but I thought those two were the key to the race. speaker-0: Fifth is a mile, benchmark ninety four. What do you like here? speaker-1: Yeah, look, the money's come for unleashing. ⁓ and it's third up here, had the the two plays second seconds ⁓ in its only two starts this preparation. Again, I think the sixteen hundred step up here is perfect. I think it'll ⁓ definitely handle the the going. It's one the one out of one on the heavy ⁓ and second on the soft. ⁓ out to the sixteen hundred now. I think it looks to be in this field one of the better bets on the card. main danger. And Germona Lisa just keeps winning and popping up in all the races it runs in and yeah, it's had the had around a second on on a heavy going. So I think it can be hardest to beat around tens. speaker-0: ⁓ I'm in the win on top for me. I've liked both its runs back. I like the fact it's gonna cross and take up a position. Have we lost a jockey? Is there a jockey on this last night or I'm going mad? ⁓ and it's thirteen bucks if it runs here, but given there's no booking engagement, I'll just keep an eye on that. ⁓ but I'm gonna take thirty dollars here. I'm gonna take ten dollars Mona Lisa each way. ⁓ and I think you get a sight. A nice sight. They'll both handle the conditions. Mona Lisa's absolutely flying. That was a nice win again last time out. ⁓ so I'm gonna play around with them. I think unleashing just might get in an awkward spot. It doesn't show a lot of early pace. So it felt a bit short, but if you like it and you want to agree with the beaver, that's fine as well. As a FOD goes into the any first fours at fifties. ⁓ I think the market's missed that slightly. But I'm fairly keen if I'm into win runs, it's gonna give you a nice sight here. ⁓ the six is the first of the group ones. It is ⁓ the mile flight stakes for the three year old Phillies. ⁓ and I think I've just decided I think she's an Alaby get the job done here. For J Mac. ⁓ this would have been the goal all along. It's now third up. Striking Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. The si yeah. Caesar. She's a would win this, but I'll ⁓ But I don't think it's a two sixty. No. Take the two sixty for striking instead. ⁓ I think this is a grand obviously it is a grand final, it's a group one. First two runs were fine. Didn't get the clearest of air last time out, and I think J Mac will just camp straight on whatever pace is even here. speaker-1: Alibi, you mean? Well it would differ. speaker-0: Probably Bangkok Hoddy, maybe DeAmus goes forward. ⁓ and I think she'll win. ⁓ if Bangkok Hoddy does lead, obviously it's gonna be hard to get past again. But ⁓ look a little tricky, but we'll go after favourite. Beaver, what are you doing? speaker-1: A little tricky, the you know, the the first, second, third from last week look to to have the hold on this race, but I've gone the same way as you. I've got striking alibi to turn the tables. ⁓ I think now it'll be cherry ripe to go. It was a little bit of a tricky spot last start and I think the step up in two hundred ⁓ to the sixteen hundred ⁓ suits it better than the others. ⁓ I think it gets the job done and wins here. speaker-0: The seventh kicks off the quarty. It is the 2400 Metropolitan, which is now group two level. And ⁓ an interesting race. Are you interested in taking five to four Athelwolf if this gets to a heavy track? speaker-1: Probably The five to four is a little bit skinny, but when I go through the field, I'm trying to find what's gonna beat it. And you know, outside of the second favourite, Euphrates, ⁓ it's hard to find something else. It's had it goes around the heavy going, so there's probably gonna be a bit of money for it ⁓ if the track does start to get into the heavy range. ⁓ and then some of the others I think at the moment are just just plotters. ⁓ so it's really hard to get a feel for for what could knock it off. I think you know outside of it you could go for for anything or everything. You know, ⁓ pin hole was was solid enough last start. Soul of Spain was okay but it you know it was probably in a position to win last start ⁓ and just just plotted but again probably fitter and the extra 400 suits speaker-0: Yeah, I wish I'd stuck with it. speaker-1: So you've got the horse that's fit up and running against a couple that are probably just now getting to their top. You know, got to give it a little bit of weight. I I think you probably get six to four and I think that's probably an okay bet in something like this. speaker-0: If if it's a soft six, I think I'll back it. Atherwolf. I think it'll win. If I think if if the track's okay. Any heavier it did get beaten at Newcastle on a heavy track, which is the concern. Obviously probably going to be better now than then. ⁓ it might not matter. I thought Euphrates. I think Euphrates runs well, ⁓ in or handle the conditions and the budgie smuggler will now it's had the twenty four hundred meter run is the absolute wet tracker here. speaker-1: That was fourteen hundred. speaker-0: 2500 meter run back to the trials. and I know it was slightly disappointing there last time, but now it's had that run fitter and on a wet track. ⁓ will be the one at 20s that I'll at least throw in the cordy when we get there. But if it is, like I said, ⁓ dead track or better, I'll just be back in the favourite. ⁓ the feature is one of my favourite races on the calendar, the Epsom handicap over the mile at group one level. ⁓ and I'm pretty keen here. I think I think we've got a moral. I think I think we'll write and we're just pissing. Just gonna camp there. I ⁓ I'm not enamoured with Alden Boy. I hate gate one. And this is a proper horse and any rain ⁓ is fine. She she can get through it fine. She has in New Zealand, obviously, unbeaten. Four out of four on the side. Four out of four. This is a good a good, good feeling. I think she gets the job done. ⁓ and the only danger, if there is one, is Chaywolf. Wet track suits now hard fit and you're f it's fourteen bucks. Only horses you need to worry about. What do you think? speaker-1: Thought the same as you. You've summed up what I was going to say. pretty much spot on. I think well written is going to be super hard to beat, gets the draw. I think the soft track obviously appears to ⁓ be all in its favour. Quite surprised that it's ⁓ drifted slightly and Autumn Boys come into favourite. ⁓ but but you know that makes me kind of pleased as well. so I'm happy you can run well. Chowwolf was the same. I thought it was okay last start. I've liked it's two back when it ran second, and then it was stuck a bit wide and sort of dragged everything into the race last start chasing autumn glow. and only probably just faded a bit ⁓ on the line. I think it'll be fully fit and ready to go here, and this thing out of the ground doesn't doesn't hurt. I'm I think. I was bit disappointed with something like Mr. Miller last start. I thought it should have won, but I think maybe the the softer going might help here. ⁓ so maybe maybe some improvement there. And I think Lady Shenandoah can improve as well. Yeah. probably just ⁓ a bit flat footed last start and lost it to Zing, but now third up. speaker-0: Outside gates, heaps betaphora here. speaker-1: Outside gate, I think it could probably approve and you know around the $13 you probably don't want to let it get under your guard. But some probably a little bit of lacking a bit of depth here for at Epsom, but ⁓ hopefully we see a good one. speaker-0: Absolutely. ⁓ yeah, I'm I'm keen to I think it's still a good price and hopefully they want to pile into Autumn Boy because I'll be in the Kiwi. ⁓ the ninth is the Premier Stakes, it's twelve hundred meters group two, I guess the last stop before the Everest in a couple of weeks. Tempted dollar sixty, does that interest ya? speaker-1: It's put in takeout, I reckon. ⁓ can't see anything here. ⁓ probably beating it. Gate eleven's okay, can just hook to the outside, hit the go button whenever they want, and ⁓ probably takes care of all of these quite comfortably. Main danger is head wall for sure. you know that's the that's the Nella. It loves this thing out of the ground. wasn't that bad last start. ⁓ again had to sort of do all the chasing. it was solid enough in a in a race like this. It could be hard to beat. And why not Mazu to be setting the pace and hard to run down on a wet truck? So I think it can run well. speaker-0: Yeah, yep, yep, yep. ⁓ I'm the same. She'll get the job done. I think Marzu's gonna be bobbing away up there and and run well again in the wet suits and is a reasonable place bet. and I guess we'll just put in Cabalus and Ninja for the next couple. ⁓ the wet will suit both of them, but I think she ⁓ she will get the job done and set up to start in the market in the Everest. ⁓ the tenth and last on the card is a twelve hundred meter benchmark ninety-four. And we've lost Jimmy to Melbourne. ⁓ so what I'm gonna say here, ⁓ I'm gonna have a bet on ⁓ Estremo, Gelded. First up off a prep in Queensland, you're getting ⁓ what price are we getting here? Nine bucks. Sixteen bucks. With Nash on in the last ⁓ in a race I didn't really like. ⁓ I think the blade has everything covered out of last start, so I was just looking for something a bit fresh. And I thought it at sixteen bucks was worth some thought and Jimmy Ricard has trailed quite well, but ⁓ I assume he's gone to Melbourne or he might not even get a start. ⁓ anything else caught your eye? Yeah, no, that's that's right. Yeah. what do you like? speaker-1: Scratch, gone to Melbourne. Yeah, tricky race. I was I liked Nepo Baby, ⁓ but I was a bit unsure in the softer going and gate one. ⁓ but I'll stick with it. I mean this is a super open race here. anything can anything can show up here. Obviously the blade you know was pretty good first up. ⁓ there was a lot to like about that run. ⁓ won quite comfortably, it's gonna be on the pace, gonna be hard to run down. ⁓ so you know, just depending on the track plays, but ⁓ it's in the f in the in the money and two others that I thought were worth ⁓ an interest as well was Surfs Up, resuming here, Freshened Up, back for this, and Platinum Panther. I thought it could run well as well. They'd be ones I'd be throwing into my exotics. speaker-0: Cool. ⁓ speaking of exotics, we'll do the quaddy where we'll go a little bit wider in a couple of these legs. ⁓ first leg we'll go one the Euphrates, two Soul of Spain, seven Ather Wolf, eight, the Budgy Smuggler, and twelve Pinhole. If it's a decent track, you know, take the favourite one out. Fair play. Second leg, one Chawolf, five Lady Shandel, six well-written Wait a minute. 12. Nah, ⁓ yeah. I thought about throwing the perfumist in leading, but ⁓ I don't think I will. Third leg is one Marzu, two cabalus, and ten tempted. And we'll come home with ⁓ five, which is Captain Furi, six a stremo, thirteen the blade, fourteen Napo Baby, and eighteen surfs up. 100 bucks gets you a ⁓ just over a third of that. I'll make my best. ⁓ we'll make it nepsom. Well written, race eight number six and my value race five number two. I'm in to win. on a good little a good interesting betting day anyway. What are you doing? speaker-1: Yeah, I'm making my best bet. Race four, number one, Genesis runner. I think it'll be hard to beat. And my value is race ten, number fourteen, Neppo Baby. speaker-0: Beauty. We head to Flemington where it is underwater at the moment. The rail goes at nine meters and all eyes will be on the sky to see if we do run here, as I said earlier. ⁓ so we'll run through and see this. ⁓ I did this second and Fuck there's lot of horses in on this card. This was ⁓ interesting to get through, but I think it's a day we can play a couple in in all of these races and hopefully get something out of it. Now we kick off with the Babies in Melbourne, which is the Marabedong trial plate, a thousand metres up the straight. And what do you like here? speaker-1: Yeah, usually a race that produces a fairly decent horse this one. And so quite surprised the small numbers for the race. ⁓ small number of knobs leading into the spring and yeah, really Really surprised by this. Usually it's a normally a fairly decent sized field from memory, but ⁓ an open race ⁓ and again with the heavy track, hard to know. I'm going for proverb proverb because I love the trial. ⁓ and it has been saved for this, so I've got it on top, and definitely ⁓ the trial of solar intent. There was a lot to like about that as well. ⁓ so that was sort of the way I was playing here, three to big four. speaker-0: I'm the same. ⁓ the f the rail helps number four, silent intent. But Proverb, I think just sort of bottling up the straight with the big sprint it showed in a trial, and Michael Freeman tends to get it right when he brings him down, so it is on top for me. And probably a reasonable bet if it handles the track. The two race two is 1200 meter benchmark 78. Again, ⁓ we'll kick off the first to the big field. I was gonna spec one here at 20s, and that's ⁓ Cassine. I thought its last two wins were good. I thought its trails in the heavy, it has lost on a heavy track, but it's trailed in the wet since and went got through it quite quite well. ⁓ and is worth a throw at stumps from the Belmont Gangster. You get in H way Price, it is a wet tracker. ⁓ did some good stuff last. prep trial last trial was good again ⁓ and is for me the main danger what else did i say the kiwi trial draw down the bottom here ankey alpha just searched just saw that ⁓ there the three for me ⁓ I I did have a few looks at Rudoy Real but might need to run. What are you thinking? speaker-1: It's in favorite. Yeah, like ⁓ interesting the the Kiwi first starter from the Alderson camp. That's only one two out of eleven there. So kind of a bit of a question mark there. I've gone for thirteen as Mahali. ⁓ I think you can run well. It's got one of the outside gates that can come down the outside fence there, sit sit middle of the field and I thought over a thousand first up was pretty good behind Cabrielli only just got beaten. has one on a heavy track in Sydney ⁓ before and also a soft track in Melbourne. so it looks to be able to handle this thing out of the ground. ⁓ around the six dollar fifty mark now I think that's not a bad not a bad price. speaker-0: Duty. The ⁓ three is the superimposed stakes, and I guess the ⁓ next stop on the way to the derby for the three year olds. What do you like? speaker-1: Yeah, keen on one here. I'm keen on Lapolo from the Mac and West table. Two starts, two wins. ⁓ Yeah, that they've been very easy wins. A lot to like about them. And was good last start. ⁓ beating it, beating them comfortably. ⁓ gets back, has a good finish. The further they go, the more I'll be suited. I think this is a genuine good stayer here and ⁓ keen to take this price. speaker-0: Best of the day for me, Lapolo. Won't add much more. I think ⁓ I really like that win. ⁓ Icy Yule improved. Didn't get the best of luck last time out in that race. And a bit more seasoning on it. we'll make it the danger. Yeah, yeah, really keen as well. The fourth is Edward Manifold for the three-old Phillies. It is over the mile. And look, if Profligate's ever going to do the job for us, it's now a mile at Flemington. It's run on its last two. I think it's a right setup now. Should handle the conditions okay. Being Kiwi Bred. Could all be just the eternal run-on horse. But I've got it on top. Hoping Talaga Bay can improve after being disappointed last time out, back on a softer track. And I'm gonna have something. if it runs here on beautiful U. Sydney well Sydney provincial form usually stacks up pretty well for Melbourne Grip Racing so the fact it's here, the fact it's gonna be on pace probably puts it in a decent spot. ⁓ what are you thinking? speaker-1: Yeah. ⁓ no. same same. Profligate's gonna win. It's gonna be here. ⁓ packed it first last two starts. the further they go again I think there's g it's going to improve. If it handles the track, I think this is its best test. It's gotta be beating this field if it's gonna be any good, otherwise it's probably gotta put a pen through it. Main danger stipulation. Broke its maiden last start and beat him fairly comfortably there. That was a nice little win. I think it can run well and there's ⁓ room for improvement there. One down the bottom that could run well is the number 12, Nikitria. ⁓ again, first up, only at Seymour, but that was a that was a nice enough win. ⁓ probably some scope for improvement there by the Autumn Sun, so ⁓ getting out to 1600 won't hurt it. speaker-0: Beauty. Up next is the Rosa Kingston stakes here, fifteen fourteen hundred meter group two for the ⁓ the older mares. What are you doing? speaker-1: Yeah, I think ⁓ Gold Coast Bill. I think I think you can get the job done here. Second up syndrome, last start, ⁓ sitting shot, had the lead. yeah, probably speaker-0: Still would've liked to see a bit more, I thought. But yeah. speaker-1: Me to, ⁓ but I think that might have just been second up syndrome. Has great wet track form. so I think it'll handle the going. Hopefully, yeah, maybe just take the sit in behind these ones here. ⁓ and I think it might be better suited ⁓ under those conditions. I was really struggling ⁓ outside of that. I'm willing to let Tennessee bound go. And then yeah, it was just kind of trying to find the main dangers. Stylish I think can run well and I think you can see some improvement from gold medalist who has some good wet track form. speaker-0: ⁓ I've actually gone with Tennessee band. I think the last two runs were good. ⁓ I think the wet's good. And ⁓ I just was a I said a bit bem ⁓ bemused by Gold Coast Bells last run. ⁓ wouldn't she's the main danger. But I've just flipped him. ⁓ and I'm watching Fireball Miss. Won the Oaks up in Queensland and was good up there. And just resumes here. Probably a warm-up run, but sometimes they can come back, especially off those Queensland campaigns and run quite well fresh. So that'll be the next one I I mentioned and we'll move on there. The six is the Danehill. The group two for the three year olds. ⁓ up the straight eleven hundred meters and I I have gone with natural fling on top. I thought it was quite good in the Moya. Had to sit outside lead there. ⁓ and battled on pretty well. Gets control here which was suited a bit better. ⁓ put her on top. I'm terrified of next episode obviously. Could blow him away. ⁓ could not start, I don't know, but that it is a horse with ability. ⁓ and I thought pocket full of cash trolled really well alongside natural fling, kept up down the straight with her and yeah, he's one to think about 23 bucks. Go nearly quarty anyway. what are you doing here? speaker-1: I'm gone the next episode. I think, you know, resuming here, if it's put pay to natural fling, start dollar seventy, ⁓ last start against natural fling and and beat it and beat it comfortably up at the Gold Coast. so ⁓ kind of yeah, unless they're they're suggesting that natural fling has improved considerably more than than next episode. this gonna be a great shootout and I just think the 320 over the 230 is is better odds for a horse that some has beaten the other one at their last start. that can't fault natural thing. ⁓ it was great first up and you know it wasn't disgraceful ⁓ second up, ran a really nice race. I think they fight it out. it may be just which horse handles the straight track better. speaker-0: Cool. The ⁓ the quarty kicks off with ⁓ this awful, awful Bark Cummings race. Twenty twenty five hundred metres. It is a tick into the Melbourne Cup but Buck this was torture doing this. ⁓ can you give us a tip? speaker-1: It was torture. So therefore I didn't spend too much time on it. I've gone for number seventeen, Think Giant. it's been working up its fitness. This is its fifth start in. ⁓ I think it ⁓ hit the line quite nicely against Chocolate's ⁓ last start. I think chocolates would be a good thing if it started in this. ⁓ so hopefully now it's fully fit, ready to go. I think the you know, if it can handle the truck, it can be hard to beat. Main Danger, the Martrain Jenny. can can run well. I think it's ⁓ again nearing its peak fitness. And I thought piggyback coming from Sydney. ⁓ can go quite well as well. you know, again, it's hard to line up some of this form because they're now just getting out to distances and heavy track and twenty five hundred, who knows. speaker-0: Yeah, I d I put Wooten Verney on top because I think it will go close to leading and I think I think the Zaren race was stronger ⁓ a than ⁓ chocolates race, so I was going that way with zero confidence. ⁓ I have vi I had visions of Berkeley Square like ploughing through the mud and running well here. might have dreamt about it, but ⁓ just one of those horses that does pop up on these ⁓ in these shitty conditions and and run a decent race here and there. ⁓ Mr. Monaco comes down from Sydney as well. I'll mention it third pick, but I don't I have very little confidence here. I can't see the Melbourne Cup winner coming out of this this race. but we've on to one which might have the Melbourne Cup win out, which is the Turnbull. Group one, two thousand metres. And ⁓ I am sticking with Sedelius. I think it gets control, I think goes forward, gets through the wet okay, and I think we'll get the job done hard fit now and ready to go. And by this stage I think some of them will be going up and down to one spot. I'm waiting for half yours to do something. It was okay first up, but I think it needs a jockey change to do something. I'll just leave it at that. ⁓ I think St. George runs well again here at a price. What are you doing? speaker-1: Yeah, really interesting race ⁓ here. There's some some good horses in this race. I'm gonna switch them, I'm going Aliana. ⁓ loved the last start the way it hit the line. So Dearlis is going to be super hard to beat and is an outstanding outstanding animal. But ⁓ I'm just gonna go Aliada here just to to upset the favourites. but yeah that this this is looks like it's gonna be an outstanding race and I'm watching a couple of other ⁓ cups chances and George is a horse I'm following. I thought his run last start was outstanding as well as Zarain. I think it was pretty good. There'll be two. I've got my eye on for the cup to see how they line up. speaker-0: You can negotiate the coal field cut? speaker-1: Probably. I think I'll probably go Caulfield Melbourne. speaker-0: But that'll be the two chances. I think they're the only two chances in the Caulfield Cup. Sorry to cut you off. Kick gun. I'm just thinking. speaker-1: No, well half yours. I think how it runs on the weekend's gonna be determined what they do with it. ⁓ it'll need to put in a good run to go for the go to the Caulfield Cup ⁓ as well. But yeah, I'm I'm really keen to watch those two 'cause they might ⁓ play a big role in what I'm looking at for for the cups. But I'm gonna get Aliana just to upset Sir Delius here. speaker-0: Cool. I assume Alliana's go to the Melbourne Cup. Well I'll target that. ⁓ anyway, the ninth is the Gilguide 1200 metres and we've got a favourite here that hasn't won in over 18 months. ⁓ do you like it? speaker-1: come back it. Yeah, I was I was not going that way. I was just yeah again this bit unsure ⁓ about this race and how they kind of lined up. ⁓ I've gone I've actually gone for Arkansas Kid. speaker-0: No, neither I'm speaker-1: here. I think ⁓ gate eleven's okay, goes okay track and distance and I think the heavy and soft going is right up its alley. ⁓ it's when it runs its best races. so again I just was really f trying to find some some things to pick here. I think Jimmy Ricard can go well first up. it goes well on the soft going. ⁓ around 20 to 1. I think certainly have it in a couple of my wider bets. And then you can't le you can't leave out a horse like De Bergerac. ⁓ as well with flies up the straight ⁓ doesn't mind the bit of sting out of the ground. ⁓ I would have even put King's F ring but I'm just not sure it'll even run in the soft and heavy going. speaker-0: Yeah. ⁓ I thought hedged was sorta b bomb proof here. just we'll bob away, we'll be on pace and ran well last time out. ⁓ it will go okay in the conditions. I really like Jimmy Ricardo's trials, I like the horse. I was ke I was actually quite keen on it had it been in Sydney. ⁓ so I don't know if it prefers the wet. ⁓ I had a look at Winner's Edge, I had a look at Arkansas Kidd, and I sort of more I looked I more I got confused, I'll go wide in the quarty and I think I'll probably just back the ⁓ Jimmy Ricard and and hedged. ⁓ Jamie Mellon, two winners from a last fifty rides. That was my concern with Arkansas. speaker-1: Right. Murphy's law has got to write another winner soon, surely. speaker-0: She got a couple beat last week. Anyway, the last is ⁓ did you like a ride on Lioncroix? That was clever. ⁓ 1400 meter Paris Lane Stakes. What are we doing in the last? speaker-1: Yeah. Yeah, look, I'm pretty keen on the favorite here, Ten Commandments. ⁓ I think the four dollars twenty is a pretty decent price here. It's outstanding wet track form, two out of two on the heavy, seven out of seventeen in the soft. ⁓ it's wet it's good forms, not that great. One out of fourteen, so it seems to do its best work on the and that was last last start, so hadn't one in thirteen attempts and only ran one placing on good tracks. ⁓ prior to that it was all done on the soft tracks. two back went forth behind only a couple of lengths behind evaporates ⁓ and then ⁓ had won some nice starts prior to that it was pretty good last start I think Chuck gate three suits can jump Pozi up ⁓ and be hardest to beat. Main danger number 16 just party I think it can run ⁓ extremely well in a race like this be hard to beat and ⁓ close lines to party resume. speaker-0: ⁓ the only bet I've already had is Jess Folk. it's tw I took nineteen. it's flying. They've been waiting for a wet track or prep. ⁓ you're getting Blake Shin on the leader in the last. And I'm very keen. So it's on top. ⁓ think that Ten Commandments is the only danger. That's it. I'm keen to bet. I'll cover cover the stake and see what we get ⁓ tomorrow. and there could be a few deductions more anything about this. ⁓ just party will go into Quaddy as you said. ⁓ what are you doing for you, Quaddy? speaker-1: Yes, ⁓ a bit of a tricky quaddy coming up here. So ⁓ let's see how I can go in this ⁓ in no particular order, race seven, first leg, I'm going 11, let's deal. on top. I'm going number 14, number 17 I think giant, number 10, piggyback, and number two, Berkeley Square. In the second leg, I'm going to go number two, Sedelius, number five, Aliana, number 13, St. George, and number seven, Zarain. In the third leg, I'm going number four, hedged, number three, Arkansas Kid, number ten, De Bergerac, and number eight, Jimmy Ricard. And to finish the day, I'm going number 11, Ten Commandments, number 16, Just Party, number three, Staparty, and number one, Just Folk. speaker-0: Beautiful, your best in value. speaker-1: My my value bet comes up in race nine, number three, Arkansas Kidd, and my best bets similar to you was race three number two Lapolla. speaker-0: Beautiful. Yep. ⁓ Race three number two Lapolo is my best. And race ten number one just folk is my value. What's happening in Queensland? Let's see Graham's going around again. speaker-1: Yeah, look, interesting foods up there ⁓ Brizi. ⁓ I'm going race three, number one, Global Eclipse. I think it can get the job for us done for us. ⁓ I'm going race five number three Strata Varina. I think it can bounce back into the winner's circle and then later in the day, ⁓ let me just check. It was in race ten. Number nine, Isha. I think you can ⁓ win again. speaker-0: Beauty just won in Queen in Adelaide. Shadavar's gone over there. I think to get the job done, race seven. A bounce back from last time out. ⁓ that is ⁓ Murray is it Murray Bridge? Yeah, wherever it is in Adelaide. ⁓ Yeah, it it should ⁓ should lead them and and win. Or sit off so now and and win. I hope. ⁓ beautiful. Good punting this weekend. Who you tipping into footy? speaker-1: Two dollars thirty five, not bad. Mate, I'm h I just I I think you gotta go for the roosters on paper. ⁓ but ⁓ I'll be chewing on the knights and I'm just hoping ⁓ it's a good close game. And yeah, ⁓ probably just a slightly need to roosters to win, but hopefully Newcastle can ⁓ get the trunkies. speaker-0: ⁓ yeah, but I think you gotta mark the roosters a dollar twenty. But I'll like everyone else in Sydney I'll be cheering on the nights. So ⁓ looking forward to it. Should be it should be an entertaining game if nothing else. ⁓ on an entertaining weekend. So good punning whenever the races take place in Melbourne. ⁓ enjoy the Epsom, some F1 on this harbour. It's all happening again, Beaver. You take care. You too. And ⁓ we'll do all again soon. Catch you guys. speaker-1: Cheers, but
