- 0:18doubt, hope, grace, and what it truly means to follow Christ,
- 0:23not just on Sundays, but every single day.
- 0:27Half Faith, Let It Begin starts right now.
- 0:35Welcome to Half Faith, Let It Begin. This is Ariel Santana.
- 0:39Can you believe I'm seven years old already? I'm old enough now to introduce my dad.
- 0:45Ladies and gentlemen, your host, my dad, Angel Santana.
- 0:522000 came and the spark was lit.
- 0:54The testimony raw, it wouldn't quit His mother's voice, a guiding thread.
- 1:26Good morning, everyone, and welcome back to Have Faith, Let It Begin.
- 1:29I am Angel Santana, and let's get started with episode number 8 of 10 on this series.
- 1:36Have you ever noticed how the people you spend the most time with begin to shape the way you think?
- 1:43They influence your conversations, your priorities, your outlook on life, even your faith.
- 1:52That's why today's question is so important.
- 1:55Who are you walking through life with?
- 1:58Because while no friendship is perfect, the right friendships can encourage
- 2:03us, challenge us, and remind us to keep following Jesus.
- 2:08Think about the people you talk to,
- 2:11Well, talk with most of your time during the week. Think about the people that
- 2:16you talk the most during the week as well.
- 2:21The ones who encourage your faith, who remind you to pray, who points back at
- 2:26you to Jesus when life gets difficult.
- 2:28Now, ask yourself another question.
- 2:30Am I that kind of friend to somebody else?
- 2:33Sometimes we're so focused on finding good friends that we forget God is also calling us to be one.
- 2:41So let's talk about that. Following Jesus was never meant to be solo journey.
- 2:46You know, throughout the Bible, we see many believers encouraging one another,
- 2:50praying together to serve together and carrying one another's burdens.
- 2:55Now, God created us for community.
- 2:58Not because we always agree. Not because we never disappoint one another.
- 3:04But because we grow stronger when we walk together.
- 3:07Healthy friendships don't simply make life more enjoyable. They make faith more resilient.
- 3:13They remind us that we're never alone.
- 3:16Let me give you a biblical perspective. Throughout scripture,
- 3:19we see examples of faithful friendships.
- 3:21David and Jonathan demonstrated loyalty and encouragement.
- 3:26Paul traveled with companies and companions, I should say, who served alongside
- 3:32him and strengthened the early church. Yeah.
- 3:36That's the kind of company he had even jesus surrounded himself with disciples
- 3:40teaching them correcting them and walking with them daily these relationships
- 3:45remind us that god often works through people to encourage,
- 3:50and challenge and strengthen,
- 3:53especially strengthen our faith you know as.
- 3:57People of faith, and our friendship is more than companionship.
- 4:03As myself, a Christian man, Christian friendship is more than companionship.
- 4:08It's discipleship lived out together.
- 4:11Here's a personal perspective for you. One of the greatest blessings in my life
- 4:15has been people God has placed along my journey.
- 4:19Some have encouraged me when I wanted to give up. Some have challenged me to grow.
- 4:25And some have prayed for me when I didn't even know what to pray myself.
- 4:31But looking back, I realized that many of God's answers came through faithful
- 4:36friends who simply showed up.
- 4:38They reminded me to ask myself, am I being the kind of friend to others?
- 4:44So how do we live this out? Maybe today God is inviting you to strengthen a friendship.
- 4:50Maybe he's calling you to reach out to someone you've lost touch with.
- 4:53And maybe he's promoting you to encourage someone else or someone who's quietly struggling.
- 4:59Or perhaps he's reminding you that it's okay to ask for support when you need it.
- 5:05Following Jesus doesn't mean carrying every burden by yourself.
- 5:09Sometimes faith looks like allowing someone else to walk beside you.
- 5:14So here's your faith challenge this week.
- 5:17This week, intentionally encourage someone. Send a text. Make a phone call. Pray with them.
- 5:24Write them a note. Tell them how much they mean to you.
- 5:28And if there's someone who's been encouraging your faith for years, thank them.
- 5:33Don't assume they already know. Let them hear it.
- 5:39In the Christian life, in many lives, in many of our different denominations,
- 5:47but I'll speak from the Christian life, it's not a race.
- 5:52We're called to run alone, right? It's not a race to call and be alone on.
- 5:58That's what I meant to say.
- 6:00It's a journey we travel together. God often places people in our lives to remind
- 6:05us of his presence, his love and his faithfulness.
- 6:10Treasure those friendships. That's the key. And invest in them.
- 6:14And be kind to one another and be that kind of friend who helps someone else
- 6:20walk a little closer to Christ.
- 6:23Let's pray about that. Heavenly Father, thank you for the gift of friendship,
- 6:27of spiritual friendship.
- 6:28Thank you for the people you've placed in our lives who encourage us,
- 6:33challenge us, and remind us of your love.
- 6:36Help us become faithful friends who listen well. Love generously.
- 6:41Forgive quickly. And point others toward Christ.
- 6:45Teach us to walk together with humility, kindness, and grace.
- 6:50And may our relationships reflect your love in everything we do.
- 6:55In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
- 6:57Here's today's takeaway. The best friendships don't simply walk beside you.
- 7:02They help you walk closer to Christ.
- 7:05Thank you for joining me for episode 8 of 10 of Following Jesus in Real Life.
- 7:10Remember, faith grows stronger when we encourage one another.
- 7:14We walk together, we pray together, we grow together, and we never forget.
- 7:21Our next episode will be episode nine. What is God preparing for you?
- 7:26Trusting that every single day has a purpose.
- 7:31And the question will come up. Have you ever felt that you're in that month
- 7:37or that year of waiting, wondering if anything meaningful is happening in our lives?
- 7:44But in our next episode, we'll explore how God often prepares us long before
- 7:48he calls us and why the ordinary months or years or days or hours of our life
- 7:55may be shaping us for extraordinary purposes.
- 7:58So until next time, may God be with you and never forget, have faith,
- 8:04let it begin. Take care. Welcome to.
