- 0:01Speaker 1: Bass player and a vocalist of Heaven, the band Heaven.
- 0:08Speaker 2: Yeah, fire away, mate, fantastic LOI, thanks for joining us today.
- 0:13Speaker 1: You're welcome mate, Thanks for having me on.
- 0:15Speaker 2: Oh pleasure. So Heaven have announced a return to the
- 0:17Speaker 2: stage for a couple of shows this year in Sydney,
- 0:20Speaker 2: So firstly, welcome back.
- 0:23Speaker 1: Yeah mate, thank you very much. It's been spent a
- 0:25Speaker 1: long time coming. Yeah. I mean, we just we were
- 0:31Speaker 1: starting to get things rolling again in twenty twelve. We
- 0:36Speaker 1: did a tour here that was pretty successful, and then
- 0:41Speaker 1: we were going to go ahead and do some stuff
- 0:43Speaker 1: and like we had Sweden Rock lined up, but Alan,
- 0:46Speaker 1: our singer, got sick and consequently died of cancer, so
- 0:52Speaker 1: that sort of put a spinner in the works. Otherwise
- 0:56Speaker 1: we'd have been sort of up and running around probably,
- 0:59Speaker 1: you know, twenty fifteen, twenty sixteen.
- 1:02Speaker 2: All right, before we get into the shows, let's explore
- 1:06Speaker 2: the band a bit more. In cases people out there
- 1:08Speaker 2: that don't quite know too much about you guys, but
- 1:10Speaker 2: you've found it back in nineteen eighty So what was
- 1:13Speaker 2: the meres your climate like back then that gave birth
- 1:15Speaker 2: to Heaven and where did you fit in in those days?
- 1:19Speaker 1: Yeah? Nineteen eight.
- 1:20Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:20Speaker 1: Yeah, So what happened was that I left Adelaide where
- 1:26Speaker 1: I immigrated from London out to South Australia to Adelaide
- 1:31Speaker 1: with my family, and you know, I've been a musician
- 1:35Speaker 1: around Adelaide for a number of years and decided that
- 1:39Speaker 1: it was, you know, if I was going to get
- 1:41Speaker 1: anywhere move forward with things, I had to move to
- 1:45Speaker 1: somewhere like Melbourne or Sydney. So I picked Sydney. And
- 1:49Speaker 1: when I got here, but I just started looking around
- 1:52Speaker 1: for players and one guy that I lived around the
- 1:59Speaker 1: corner from him, actually I used to go and see
- 2:00Speaker 1: the band playing. That was a band called Swanye, which
- 2:03Speaker 1: was Jimmy Barnes's brother, and I struck up a friendship
- 2:08Speaker 1: with the guitar player, Kelly, and I used to take
- 2:10Speaker 1: because I had a carr and he didn't. I used
- 2:12Speaker 1: to take him to gigs and you know, we just
- 2:16Speaker 1: sort of started talking about things and I said and
- 2:19Speaker 1: he said he was that he wasn't sort of happy
- 2:22Speaker 1: staying with what he was doing and he wanted to
- 2:23Speaker 1: move into something different. And I said, well, mate, what's
- 2:28Speaker 1: your interests? And he said, well, I love this band
- 2:31Speaker 1: Van Halen. That's just hit the scene in the last
- 2:33Speaker 1: couple of years, and I went right, I said, so
- 2:35Speaker 1: do I, And I said, why don't you come and
- 2:38Speaker 1: join me and we'll put a band together. So that
- 2:43Speaker 1: was that was the first step in the evolution of Heaven.
- 2:48Speaker 1: And then when he joined, we were discussing about who
- 2:53Speaker 1: we're going to get as a singer, and I said, well,
- 2:55Speaker 1: I'd been working in Adelaide with a singer called on Friar.
- 3:01Speaker 1: He was in a band called Fat Lip, and I said,
- 3:04Speaker 1: I was actually in a band before that called Heroes
- 3:07Speaker 1: with him. I said, he's pretty good. Here he goes?
- 3:09Speaker 1: Is that that Scott's bloke in Adelaide that always hassles
- 3:12Speaker 1: me every time I'm in Adelaide? I said, yeah, that's him.
- 3:16Speaker 1: So yeah, So so we rang Alan and and Alan
- 3:21Speaker 1: had always loved Kelly's playing and that, so Alan said
- 3:25Speaker 1: all right, well I'll come up to Sydney over the
- 3:30Speaker 1: next weekend and we'll we'll we'll have a jam. So
- 3:33Speaker 1: we did that. We got another guy in playing drums
- 3:40Speaker 1: for it that that we didn't end up using, but
- 3:44Speaker 1: Alan liked what was going on with it, and we're
- 3:48Speaker 1: just you know, doing you know, a few covers at
- 3:50Speaker 1: that point, and he went back to Adelaide on the
- 3:56Speaker 1: Monday and basically packed up his house and moved to Sydney.
- 4:02Speaker 1: In the meantime, while he was packing up, he asked me,
- 4:05Speaker 1: He said, well, are you going to get playing drums
- 4:08Speaker 1: and second guitar? And I said well, I said, what
- 4:13Speaker 1: about the boys that we used to play within Heroes?
- 4:15Speaker 1: And he goes, oh, yeah, Don clap Roth and Robbie
- 4:19Speaker 1: Hannah And I said yeah, yeah, I said, you know.
- 4:21Speaker 1: He goes, yeahh I'll call him. So he called Robbie
- 4:25Speaker 1: Hannah and Don clap Roth and they came up and
- 4:32Speaker 1: same thing. They just shut shop in Adelaide and came
- 4:36Speaker 1: up to Sydney and and joined the band and we
- 4:40Speaker 1: started doing gigs around the traps. Alan had already he'd
- 4:45Speaker 1: finished up with a band called Fat Lip that basically
- 4:50Speaker 1: that they'd done some shows in Sydney, and they also
- 4:52Speaker 1: had that they had shows left to do, but the
- 4:55Speaker 1: band sort of split, so Alan said, well, why don't
- 4:58Speaker 1: we call it fat Lip and we can do those shows.
- 5:02Speaker 1: So we did that. So we we we went under
- 5:05Speaker 1: the name fat Lip at first, and we we finished
- 5:09Speaker 1: these shows that Alan had been contracted for and yeah,
- 5:17Speaker 1: and so we just started doing that. But also I
- 5:20Speaker 1: must add that Alan had done some auditions for ac DC.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Oh wow, he'd be He'd been to Albert Studios and
- 5:34Speaker 1: with with George and Harry and they took out Bond's
- 5:41Speaker 1: vocals and put Alan's in and he did a pretty
- 5:44Speaker 1: good job, I might say, But Malcolm and Angus already
- 5:48Speaker 1: had their sights on Brian Johnson and Brian got the gig.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Obviously Alan didn't, but it was close there. But from
- 5:57Speaker 1: what I can tell, yeh. So so he just come
- 6:02Speaker 1: through all that and a bit disappointed that he hadn't
- 6:04Speaker 1: got that. So he had a fire in his belly
- 6:06Speaker 1: to get fat Lip up and running, you know. And
- 6:11Speaker 1: at that stage the agency was it was a smaller agency.
- 6:17Speaker 1: I think it was called Sphere. I can't remember exactly,
- 6:20Speaker 1: but at that same point we'd only been going a
- 6:24Speaker 1: couple of months, a few months, and we got contacted
- 6:29Speaker 1: by a CD's old manager, Michael Browning. Now Michael had
- 6:35Speaker 1: been after after him and a CDC did a split.
- 6:41Speaker 1: He was looking for another rock band, and Lobby Lloyd
- 6:46Speaker 1: from Lobby Lloyd in the Colored Balls was actually doing
- 6:49Speaker 1: agency work for Harbor Agency in Sydney, and Michael said,
- 6:55Speaker 1: do you know of any good solid rock bands out there?
- 6:59Speaker 1: He goes, yeah, yeah, he said, saw this band the
- 7:01Speaker 1: other week bank called Fat Lip. You know great, mate,
- 7:05Speaker 1: they're great, And he told Michael about how he knew
- 7:08Speaker 1: Alan had gone for the job with a CDC. So
- 7:12Speaker 1: Michael came out and saw us out of the back
- 7:15Speaker 1: of Blacktown somewhere I can't remember exactly, and you know,
- 7:19Speaker 1: we were sort of waiting for this bloke to walk in,
- 7:23Speaker 1: this millionaire bloke and a suit and tie and and
- 7:26Speaker 1: all that, and it's just bloke walks in T shirts,
- 7:29Speaker 1: stubbies and thongs and and yeah, yeah, we were sort
- 7:38Speaker 1: of shocked. But yeah, we got talking to him and
- 7:42Speaker 1: you know, he wanted to sign the band up, so
- 7:45Speaker 1: we we ended up signing with Michael, but he didn't
- 7:50Speaker 1: like the name fat Lip. He thought that the name
- 7:56Speaker 1: wasn't good enough to sort of get it on the
- 7:58Speaker 1: international market. So you know, over the coming weeks there
- 8:05Speaker 1: was you know, names were getting bandied around and stuff,
- 8:07Speaker 1: and I don't know who it was exactly, but somebody
- 8:11Speaker 1: come up with Heaven Sent and I think that it
- 8:17Speaker 1: might have been Michael's wife, Julie, that might have come
- 8:19Speaker 1: up with that, and it got cut down to Heaven
- 8:23Speaker 1: and we all liked it. We were right, okay, so
- 8:26Speaker 1: we'll go with that, and that's how the name sort
- 8:30Speaker 1: of came about. Yeah, and Michael because of the ac
- 8:37Speaker 1: DC contact. I me, Michael had a lot of people
- 8:41Speaker 1: in the industry that he knew got to signed up
- 8:45Speaker 1: to URCA Records here in Australia and what was called
- 8:50Speaker 1: CBS then back then, which is now Sony. I think
- 8:54Speaker 1: Sony took it over in America and most territories of
- 9:00Speaker 1: the world were under CBS Records. We put out the
- 9:05Speaker 1: first album did all right. It was it was a
- 9:10Speaker 1: low budget album. I mean, you know, I didn't have
- 9:14Speaker 1: a lot of money to play with, but it came
- 9:16Speaker 1: out okay, and it was enough to get us sort
- 9:19Speaker 1: of notice a bit overseas, and then Michael started working
- 9:26Speaker 1: on I mean we were we were during Australia. It
- 9:30Speaker 1: was crazy. Yeah, basically I think one year we did
- 9:37Speaker 1: three hundred and something not gigs in a year. We
- 9:41Speaker 1: were doing there were doubles and triples. Every weekend, like
- 9:46Speaker 1: a Friday and the Saturday night we're doing triple, triple, gigs.
- 9:50Speaker 1: So we'd start over at north Shore the Royal Antler
- 9:54Speaker 1: at Aravine and that would be the early spot, and
- 9:58Speaker 1: then our road crew would take the gear down the
- 10:01Speaker 1: raid about twenty minutes to to monav Oile Hotel where
- 10:09Speaker 1: we do a middle spot there. And then whilst that
- 10:11Speaker 1: was going on, there was a second lot of gear
- 10:14Speaker 1: would be going to Savania Pub, which is the other
- 10:17Speaker 1: side of town, and basically we'd finished the middle spot
- 10:23Speaker 1: and we'd shoot over to Sylvania to do a late
- 10:27Speaker 1: spot there.
- 10:30Speaker 3: Yeah, you would have been, oh yeah, yeah, so but
- 10:37Speaker 3: I mean, you know, we were in our twenties, you know,
- 10:39Speaker 3: like physically pretty fit and all that.
- 10:43Speaker 1: For us, it was just great fun and then you
- 10:46Speaker 1: know we'd leave, we'd leave the gig, you know, finish
- 10:50Speaker 1: the gig at two o'clock in the morning, probably drive
- 10:52Speaker 1: to Melbourne or something like that, to Brisbane or something
- 10:56Speaker 1: to do get ready for the week shows up there.
- 11:00Speaker 1: So it was there, it was it was pretty full Longe.
- 11:04Speaker 2: That sounds, yeah, and like you pretty much you struck
- 11:08Speaker 2: a wing formula like with a nice blend of pub
- 11:11Speaker 2: rock with some metal undertones. But was that sound by
- 11:14Speaker 2: design or was it something you just sort of stumbled across.
- 11:16Speaker 1: No, that that that was. It just came about. There
- 11:22Speaker 1: was there was there was no formula for what we did.
- 11:26Speaker 1: It was we just got into rehears and when we
- 11:30Speaker 1: realized that to get ahead we had to write songs,
- 11:34Speaker 1: and none of us had written before except for Kelly.
- 11:38Speaker 1: Actually Kelly did a little bit of writing with Swanny.
- 11:41Speaker 1: But yeah, it was just what came out. It had
- 11:49Speaker 1: a sort of a certain sort of magic to it.
- 11:51Speaker 1: But probably Kelly, Kelly was like a Van Halen head.
- 11:57Speaker 1: But I always saw them more into probably Judas Priest
- 12:03Speaker 1: and stuff like that. Sabbath maybe a bit at that time,
- 12:08Speaker 1: and of course we're all into a c DC. So uh,
- 12:14Speaker 1: it just that's just the formula that came out.
- 12:16Speaker 2: Really. All right, You've mentioned being signed to a US label,
- 12:21Speaker 2: So after you released your debut here, you went over
- 12:24Speaker 2: to the US and you tried with people like Judas Priest,
- 12:26Speaker 2: Motley who Black Sabbath. It's like, what was that period
- 12:30Speaker 2: like for the band? It would have been would have
- 12:31Speaker 2: been great times.
- 12:33Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, Well what happened there was after CBS
- 12:37Speaker 1: signed us, and we obviously with a large company like that,
- 12:42Speaker 1: and they want you to tour the album and stuff,
- 12:44Speaker 1: so they give you tour support money to go and
- 12:48Speaker 1: don't go and tour somewhere. Originally we were going to
- 12:51Speaker 1: go to England and Europe and tour with Saxon.
- 12:55Speaker 2: Okay, but.
- 12:58Speaker 1: What happened there that Saxon were charging their bands ten
- 13:04Speaker 1: thousand pound what they call buy on, So you pay
- 13:09Speaker 1: them ten thousand pound and they'd let you in two.
- 13:13Speaker 2: That's a shipload.
- 13:14Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, well, especially back then, you know, that's probably like,
- 13:18Speaker 1: you know, thirty or forty thousand these days. So Michael
- 13:24Speaker 1: and his wisdom and we'd already supported quite a lot
- 13:27Speaker 1: of international acts here in Australia. We'd already did Australia
- 13:33Speaker 1: with Motorhead, we did Ian Gillen's own Van Gillen and
- 13:43Speaker 1: in nineteen eighty two we actually did the Number of
- 13:46Speaker 1: the Beast Australian to Iron Maiden. And what happened was
- 13:53Speaker 1: that Michael and his wisdom sort of said, no, we're
- 13:57Speaker 1: not going to blow all our money on given it
- 14:00Speaker 1: to Saxa for that tour. So he went shopping around
- 14:03Speaker 1: and he was able to get us judas Priest in America.
- 14:07Speaker 2: Wow.
- 14:09Speaker 1: So we'd been through CBS records. We'd been signed to
- 14:18Speaker 1: a sort of sister company called Brighton Records, and the
- 14:22Speaker 1: guy called what was his name, Michael Klefner, who was
- 14:27Speaker 1: instrumental in getting a CDC into America and he loved
- 14:35Speaker 1: the band and he he helped get us into onto
- 14:41Speaker 1: the Judas Priests and also with a c I the agency,
- 14:45Speaker 1: the big New York agency, and we had Bill Elson
- 14:49Speaker 1: who was I think I think he might have been
- 14:52Speaker 1: kiss his agent, and I think he was actually was
- 14:55Speaker 1: Judis prest agent as well. It was this big time
- 15:00Speaker 1: agent back in the day. So we in eighty two,
- 15:04Speaker 1: we I think it was October November, we finished the
- 15:10Speaker 1: number of the Beast Tour which that went down a
- 15:14Speaker 1: store and we had a ball with the Maiden Boys,
- 15:16Speaker 1: so the Great Lads, and we got treated really well
- 15:21Speaker 1: and we were received very very well with the Australian audiences,
- 15:28Speaker 1: which was great. And yeah, we chroofed off to la
- 15:33Speaker 1: and we had a couple of weeks in La. Alan
- 15:38Speaker 1: arrived there about a week before us to do some
- 15:42Speaker 1: interviews and stuff like that before we got there, a
- 15:46Speaker 1: couple of weeks it might have been. And yeah, then
- 15:50Speaker 1: we embarked on the Screaming for Vengeance tour. It started
- 15:56Speaker 1: off in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and I can't remember exactly
- 16:01Speaker 1: how long it went for. I think it was a
- 16:02Speaker 1: few months. And there was a lot of mayhem on
- 16:08Speaker 1: that tour.
- 16:08Speaker 2: Mate, it was your best told story from that one.
- 16:12Speaker 1: Oh mate, A lot of stories I can't tell you.
- 16:16Speaker 1: But we had a ball mate and like we were
- 16:20Speaker 1: doing like ten and fifteen thousand seedars, yeah, right up
- 16:26Speaker 1: to twenty thousand and yeah. Once again, the Priest Boys
- 16:32Speaker 1: were fantastic that we got treated really well. We started
- 16:38Speaker 1: we started to get the ball rolling really well there.
- 16:41Speaker 1: I mean, people really liked the band. Of course, being Australian,
- 16:46Speaker 1: it was you know, it was one of those things
- 16:49Speaker 1: that it was a new sort of new thing because
- 16:52Speaker 1: I mean a did this, he had gone through and
- 16:55Speaker 1: and you know they've been a big hit there and
- 16:57Speaker 1: Roast Tattoo were actually going through at that time too,
- 17:02Speaker 1: through there and they were doing really well. So it
- 17:05Speaker 1: was the Australian flavor it was. It was really good.
- 17:08Speaker 1: As soon as you started talking, people wanted to yeah,
- 17:13Speaker 1: the accent and that. So yeah, so we did the
- 17:18Speaker 1: Screaming for Vengeance tour and yeah, it was fantastic and
- 17:23Speaker 1: then we got back to l A and we went
- 17:26Speaker 1: into pre production and writing for the second album, or
- 17:31Speaker 1: Angels Fear To Tread m.
- 17:34Speaker 2: That Want To ended up having Ronnie James do O
- 17:36Speaker 2: Leader Ford and Glenn Hughes guest on that back then.
- 17:39Speaker 2: These days it's common for that to happen. But back then,
- 17:43Speaker 2: guess spots an a big thing. So you obviously had
- 17:45Speaker 2: a bit of respect.
- 17:47Speaker 1: Well, yeah we did. We Yeah, we commanded a fair
- 17:51Speaker 1: bit of respect lot for what we were doing. But
- 17:54Speaker 1: also that was Alan, our singer, because our was he
- 18:01Speaker 1: was like the how can I put it? Put it nicely?
- 18:06Speaker 1: He was like the class clown, right. He was a
- 18:11Speaker 1: funny guy and everyone loved him and he used to
- 18:17Speaker 1: strike up friendships with just about everyone, and he used
- 18:21Speaker 1: to play tricks on people all the time. And you know,
- 18:24Speaker 1: he was just a good bloke to you know, to
- 18:27Speaker 1: be around a lot of the time. And so he'd
- 18:30Speaker 1: go out drinking and he liked to drink, did big
- 18:34Speaker 1: al And he used to go down to the Rainbow
- 18:39Speaker 1: Room like after recording. So we do it, We do
- 18:44Speaker 1: a full day of recording and then we don't knack
- 18:46Speaker 1: and we go somewhere and just have a drink. Alan
- 18:49Speaker 1: would go down the Rainbow Room where all the rock
- 18:51Speaker 1: star people used to hang out, and he'd be drinking
- 18:56Speaker 1: with him and say, come back to the studio, come
- 18:58Speaker 1: back with me. We'll put something down, and they go,
- 19:01Speaker 1: come on, hell no, we're just drinking. No, no, come back,
- 19:03Speaker 1: come back. Put something on the album for us. Yeah,
- 19:07Speaker 1: so they would, they would, Yeah, so so Ronnie do.
- 19:13Speaker 1: He put down some backing vocals in Rangel's Fear of Tread.
- 19:19Speaker 1: He he's under the name Evil Eyes on the album.
- 19:23Speaker 1: If you look at the album cover, it just says
- 19:25Speaker 1: evil Eyes. He didn't want it down as Ronnie Dio.
- 19:27Speaker 1: He just said evil Eyes. But you can tell, you
- 19:29Speaker 1: can tell straight off it's Ronnie that voice, you know. Lea.
- 19:35Speaker 1: She did some backing vocals on a song called Madness.
- 19:40Speaker 1: That's there's a bit of a breakdown in the middle
- 19:44Speaker 1: of the song, and there's like a nurse talking to
- 19:49Speaker 1: a psycho patient and and and she's she's talked to
- 19:55Speaker 1: him and and he's answering. She did that. Glenn Hughes,
- 20:01Speaker 1: he sang on a song called Stormer Heart and you
- 20:07Speaker 1: can't miss his voice, mate. I mean, the guy is
- 20:09Speaker 1: just a freak and you know, thanks Glenn, because I've
- 20:13Speaker 1: got to do those parts now reasonably high voice, but god,
- 20:20Speaker 1: that guy's voice, it's just incredible.
- 20:24Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 20:25Speaker 1: But yeah, and that's sort of how things came about.
- 20:30Speaker 1: There was also Alan got drunk with a guy that
- 20:35Speaker 1: was the sax player for Rod Stewart's band, a guy
- 20:40Speaker 1: caromed Jimmy Zavala, and so of course what happened. We've
- 20:47Speaker 1: got this song rock School, which which was sort of
- 20:50Speaker 1: I didn't have anything to do with writing that song
- 20:52Speaker 1: that It was Kellyen Allen sort of getting like a
- 20:56Speaker 1: back then you had to have a song the appeal
- 21:00Speaker 1: to radio.
- 21:01Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 21:01Speaker 1: Yeah, so that was the sort of song and Michael
- 21:05Speaker 1: Brown used to push for us to try and write
- 21:07Speaker 1: a radio song. So that was the idea of rock School.
- 21:13Speaker 1: So he got Jimmy along and just threw some sacks down.
- 21:17Speaker 1: Although Jimmy's name got spelled wrongly on the album. It
- 21:19Speaker 1: was his name is Savala, but they put it down
- 21:21Speaker 1: in Zazzla.
- 21:22Speaker 2: Or something hard to spell. It sounds pretty hard to spell.
- 21:29Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, So that's how all those people came about.
- 21:34Speaker 1: Chris and we're just al and going out and get
- 21:36Speaker 1: pissed with them.
- 21:38Speaker 2: So they may or may not have been slightly pissed
- 21:40Speaker 2: when they recorded their parts.
- 21:44Speaker 1: Yeah, good, good, Yeah, quite possibly, mate.
- 21:51Speaker 2: Moving on, if I've done my research right here, Like
- 21:55Speaker 2: after Knocking on Heaven's Door came out in ninety eighty five,
- 21:58Speaker 2: the band went through a period of inactivity. You got
- 22:00Speaker 2: a few reunions, but they never really got off the
- 22:02Speaker 2: ground before You're officially reformed around twenty twenty two. So
- 22:06Speaker 2: what had changed to make you decide to have a
- 22:08Speaker 2: proper red hot break again?
- 22:10Speaker 1: Okay, So once we'd finished after doing that We're Angels
- 22:17Speaker 1: Feit the Tread album, we went out on tour with
- 22:20Speaker 1: Motley Cruell. Right, I'll give you a bit of the
- 22:24Speaker 1: story leading up to eighty five. So we went out
- 22:30Speaker 1: with Motley crue Shouted the Devil Tour and we spent
- 22:35Speaker 1: six or eight weeks with Motley crue And of course,
- 22:38Speaker 1: you know, they they thought they were big drinkers and
- 22:41Speaker 1: party animals at the time, and they learned a lesson
- 22:45Speaker 1: when they come out with us. And yeah, we had
- 22:51Speaker 1: lots of fun on the tour. And the beginning of
- 22:54Speaker 1: the tour, it started in Denver and we were snowed in.
- 23:00Speaker 1: There were blizzards and we were snowed in for I
- 23:04Speaker 1: know about a week, I guess something like that. We
- 23:08Speaker 1: couldn't really go anywhere there. We could go across the
- 23:12Speaker 1: road to a bark called Donnie's Bar and drink there
- 23:15Speaker 1: for a couple a few nights, and then snowplows came
- 23:18Speaker 1: in and we were able to get over to Motley
- 23:20Speaker 1: Cruz Hotel and hung out with them and created mayhem
- 23:23Speaker 1: in the hotel and all the guests were arking up
- 23:26Speaker 1: and complained a lot of older people complaining about, you know,
- 23:30Speaker 1: our antics and stuff like that. And then after that
- 23:35Speaker 1: we went on to do the Kids tour and we
- 23:43Speaker 1: we spent it was Animalyzed tour. I think from memory
- 23:47Speaker 1: they had licked up that song licked up on it,
- 23:49Speaker 1: I think, and that was that was excellent. Gene and
- 23:55Speaker 1: Paul really liked the band, and Gene actually at one
- 23:59Speaker 1: point it was interested in managing us. Oh wow, and
- 24:06Speaker 1: because he had his company man of a thousand faces,
- 24:10Speaker 1: and he actually sent us letters and we had phone calls,
- 24:14Speaker 1: but we were there was a tight contract with Michael
- 24:22Speaker 1: at that point with management and recording and all that
- 24:27Speaker 1: sort of stuff. So yeah, so we did that and
- 24:32Speaker 1: that was all over the Midwest of America. Then after
- 24:38Speaker 1: that we came back to Australia. We did one tour
- 24:42Speaker 1: in nineteen eighty four. We did all the TV shows
- 24:47Speaker 1: Countdown and Sounds and everything else that was going on. Oh,
- 24:55Speaker 1: what was that Donnie Sutherland show.
- 25:00Speaker 2: Called he Can't be too memorable If you can't remember.
- 25:03Speaker 1: It, Donny Sutherland Sounds. That's right. We did all those
- 25:10Speaker 1: sorts of shows we did. We did a full tour
- 25:13Speaker 1: of Australia and we came back to Sydney and there
- 25:17Speaker 1: was a bit of unrest between Alan and the rest
- 25:20Speaker 1: of the band and basically we split up. We were
- 25:27Speaker 1: looking for a new singer. Alan went back to America
- 25:30Speaker 1: because he was going to get married. He went back
- 25:33Speaker 1: there and the we were finding it hard to replace
- 25:40Speaker 1: Allan with anyone, and he sort of went over there
- 25:44Speaker 1: and he talked to another management company about Heaven, but
- 25:50Speaker 1: he didn't tell them that it wasn't the same members. Yeah,
- 25:56Speaker 1: and then he threw together a band with with some
- 26:00Speaker 1: name players from New York and from Los Angeles and
- 26:07Speaker 1: they signed themselves. They got signed up as Heaven. Meanwhile,
- 26:11Speaker 1: we're back in Australia, we're trying to put something together,
- 26:15Speaker 1: but Michael Browning sold the name to It was either
- 26:21Speaker 1: Allen or the management company because Michael actually he'd owned
- 26:26Speaker 1: the name at that point, and so that was the
- 26:30Speaker 1: end of the Australian version of Heaven. For a hour,
- 26:36Speaker 1: the American band did an album that only did one album,
- 26:42Speaker 1: did a bit of touring, but within I think eighteen months,
- 26:45Speaker 1: it was dead. Nobody really the American version of it
- 26:51Speaker 1: didn't really take off. So from about eighty six to
- 27:01Speaker 1: ninety two there was nothing happening, not with anyone. Allan
- 27:08Speaker 1: was just doing some local gigs around where he lived
- 27:13Speaker 1: in Dallas Fort Worth, using local players and if you
- 27:19Speaker 1: have a look on Wikipedia, there's a conger line of
- 27:23Speaker 1: all these guys that did one gig with him or
- 27:26Speaker 1: two gigs with him, and they're also with Heaven, you know.
- 27:31Speaker 1: But yeah, yeah, So he did that till nineteen ninety two,
- 27:35Speaker 1: when I can't remember, he came back here for a
- 27:39Speaker 1: holiday and he contacted I think it was myself and
- 27:44Speaker 1: said he wanted to do a couple of gigs with us.
- 27:47Speaker 1: So we got the dates of when he was going
- 27:51Speaker 1: to be in Sydney because he went to Adelaide to
- 27:53Speaker 1: see the family, and then he came up to Sydney
- 27:55Speaker 1: and we got a show the Collector Tavern in Paramatter
- 28:03Speaker 1: I don't think it's there anymore, and the Bridge Hotel
- 28:08Speaker 1: in Balmain. We did two shows and packed house both nights.
- 28:16Speaker 1: So Alan went back to America and we kept in
- 28:20Speaker 1: contact and stuff, and about nineteen ninety six he came
- 28:27Speaker 1: back out again and we did another couple of shows,
- 28:34Speaker 1: and we just did this every few years, you know,
- 28:38Speaker 1: just it's a bit of fun. And then it was
- 28:42Speaker 1: two thousand and one. I was talking to a guy
- 28:49Speaker 1: that had like a management company and he also worked
- 28:53Speaker 1: for for an international promoter, and he said, did you
- 29:00Speaker 1: hear Judas Priests are coming out? And I said no,
- 29:05Speaker 1: didn't know. He goes, yeah, he said they're coming out as.
- 29:08Speaker 1: The tour is going to be called Demolition to it
- 29:10Speaker 1: because there are album is called the Demolition And I wait, right,
- 29:14Speaker 1: I said, who's doing the support? He goes, well, no
- 29:16Speaker 1: one yet, and I think it was Kevin Jacobs that
- 29:19Speaker 1: he was working for. And I said, mate, any chance
- 29:23Speaker 1: that we could get on that tour and he goes,
- 29:25Speaker 1: I'm sure you can. He said, your toured with them
- 29:27Speaker 1: in the Saints and you know, I said absolutely we did.
- 29:31Speaker 1: So he got onto Priest's management and I got onto
- 29:39Speaker 1: Alan and I said, look, we've got a chance of
- 29:41Speaker 1: doing the Demolition tour with Priest. Do you want to
- 29:44Speaker 1: do it? And he goes absolutely. So it all got
- 29:50Speaker 1: lined up and yeah, we did the tour and Alan
- 29:55Speaker 1: came out and we rehearsed the band up and that
- 29:59Speaker 1: period two we also wrote some new songs and we
- 30:05Speaker 1: went on tour with Presently. It was yeah, it was
- 30:08Speaker 1: like old times, you know, we had a ball with
- 30:13Speaker 1: all great guys and yeah. So that was for about
- 30:19Speaker 1: three weeks. They were here in Australia and they did Adelaide, Melbourne,
- 30:27Speaker 1: Sydney and Brisbane and yeah, at the end of that tour,
- 30:35Speaker 1: we basically went into the studio and we just threw
- 30:40Speaker 1: down a demo of these new songs that we'd written.
- 30:46Speaker 1: And it was Alan had contacted somebody he knew in Dallas,
- 30:53Speaker 1: a record company called Pulse Records, so the demo was
- 30:57Speaker 1: paid for by them. We did the demo, but they
- 31:04Speaker 1: just said on the album they never released it. Yeah, right,
- 31:08Speaker 1: So I mean to this day, if they're still around,
- 31:11Speaker 1: they still got it. And then nothing happened till two
- 31:20Speaker 1: thousand and twelve. We kept I kept in contact with
- 31:26Speaker 1: all over the years and stuff, but you know, it
- 31:28Speaker 1: was we all had other things that we were doing.
- 31:32Speaker 1: Twenty twelve, Alim was coming over for another holiday. I
- 31:35Speaker 1: sees family, He said, right, he said, line up a tour.
- 31:38Speaker 1: He said, I'll come out and bring the family out
- 31:42Speaker 1: and they can see the Friar family in Adelaide and that,
- 31:45Speaker 1: and we'll do some shows. So I contacted our agent, Harbor,
- 31:53Speaker 1: and they got on the case and they put together
- 31:58Speaker 1: a run of shows right through Australia and Alan arrived
- 32:03Speaker 1: here and at that point too, Kelly wasn't involved with it,
- 32:10Speaker 1: but we had Rowan Robertson from DIO. Yeah, he came
- 32:15Speaker 1: out because originally it was supposed to be Mitch Perry
- 32:18Speaker 1: from the American lineup of Heaven. I was going to
- 32:22Speaker 1: do it because Alan and Mitch were very close. And
- 32:28Speaker 1: Alan said to me, he said, well, he said, if
- 32:30Speaker 1: we do this too, I want Mitch to do it.
- 32:31Speaker 1: I said, yeah, no worries, all good, you know that's
- 32:35Speaker 1: if you know, it's fine whatever you want to do.
- 32:39Speaker 1: And Kelly sort of lost the interest in the Heaven thing.
- 32:42Speaker 1: At that point. So we got John Hayes in second guitar,
- 32:51Speaker 1: and we just we got Rowan Robertson him because Mitch
- 32:56Speaker 1: said yes to it. But all of a sudden, Leader
- 33:02Speaker 1: fought who he was, her permanent guitar player, right rang
- 33:07Speaker 1: him and said, well, no, you can't go to Australia.
- 33:09Speaker 1: I've got a tour here. So he rang al and
- 33:15Speaker 1: he rang me and basically said, look, I can't do it.
- 33:17Speaker 1: Leader's going out on the road, he said, but I've
- 33:21Speaker 1: got a friend who would love to do it. His
- 33:24Speaker 1: name is Rowan Robertson. He was the guitar player on
- 33:27Speaker 1: Lock Up the Wolves album of Ronnie James Dow And
- 33:32Speaker 1: we were, oh, fuck you, yeah, we've heard he's playing. Thought, yeah, awesome.
- 33:37Speaker 1: You know, so Rowan flew out. We flew him out.
- 33:44Speaker 1: We had something like four weeks rehearsals, did a couple
- 33:48Speaker 1: of quiet shows on the side, just to you know,
- 33:53Speaker 1: out in the country, just to yeah, just just to
- 33:57Speaker 1: iron all the bugs out, and then we started to
- 34:02Speaker 1: Australia has packed houses every night except for one night Geelong.
- 34:08Speaker 1: Geelong was a bit of a fizzle because there's a
- 34:11Speaker 1: massive storm came in and I've never seen rain like it.
- 34:18Speaker 1: The rain was just going sideways, heavy winds and stuff,
- 34:22Speaker 1: and so that that that night was was not the greatest,
- 34:26Speaker 1: but it was all right because it was you know,
- 34:28Speaker 1: it was just sort of we use it as sort
- 34:32Speaker 1: of like a paid rehearsal. Yeah, so we did. We
- 34:39Speaker 1: did Geelong, we did Adelaide, we did Geelong, we did Melbourne,
- 34:47Speaker 1: Sydney and a few shows in Brisbane and it went
- 34:53Speaker 1: really well and it was great having rowing Roans a
- 34:57Speaker 1: lovely blake. He he's he's a real sweethearts from Cambridge
- 35:02Speaker 1: in UK.
- 35:06Speaker 2: Mate.
- 35:07Speaker 1: If you're not familiar with what he does, look him up, mate.
- 35:12Speaker 1: Sensational player. Absolutely. I really took him on when he
- 35:17Speaker 1: was like seventeen.
- 35:19Speaker 2: Yeah, sorry, what an apprenticeship?
- 35:23Speaker 1: Oh yeah, absolutely, yeah. Yeah. So, and he's worked with
- 35:28Speaker 1: a lot of people over the years, you know, like
- 35:33Speaker 1: throughout the States and stuff like that. He lives over
- 35:36Speaker 1: there now in the States, and he does a lot
- 35:38Speaker 1: of work with you know, the singer of Rough Cup,
- 35:41Speaker 1: Paul Shaw, Tino and and Mitch Perry and doug Aldrich
- 35:47Speaker 1: from White Snake and all those sorts of guys. He's
- 35:50Speaker 1: he's in well with them and they've got a lot
- 35:52Speaker 1: of residency one of those casinos that they do, so yeah,
- 35:58Speaker 1: so look him up, mate, he says. And then twenty
- 36:03Speaker 1: twelve went by and Alan was discussing about doing more
- 36:13Speaker 1: stuff and we said yeah, and you know, like what
- 36:18Speaker 1: what what did you have in mind? Alan? He said, well,
- 36:20Speaker 1: I'd like to do Sweden Rock. So he said, yeah,
- 36:24Speaker 1: well that'd be great. So anyway, time went past, and
- 36:27Speaker 1: it was about I think it might have been about
- 36:30Speaker 1: twenty late twenty thirteen or twenty fourteen he got diagnosed
- 36:36Speaker 1: with cancer and it was cancer in his spine from memory,
- 36:45Speaker 1: but he rang me and he goes, look, he said,
- 36:47Speaker 1: I'll be right. He said, you know, like Sweden Rock
- 36:50Speaker 1: has sent me through notification that they want us on
- 36:54Speaker 1: and I've got contracts here. I've just got to sign them.
- 36:57Speaker 1: And he said, I just want to make sure that
- 36:59Speaker 1: my doctor says I'm okay to travel. Blah blah blah
- 37:01Speaker 1: blah blah. Anyway, he just went downhill very quickly, and
- 37:07Speaker 1: then twenty fifteen, June twenty fifteen. I think we were
- 37:09Speaker 1: supposed to be in Sweden You're Rock twenty fifteen, but
- 37:14Speaker 1: he couldn't travel. He was so sick and then he
- 37:17Speaker 1: passed away June twenty fifteen. Yeah, and then the band
- 37:25Speaker 1: sad Idol for the next four and a half years.
- 37:32Speaker 1: We were also waiting on our drama Joe, but Joe
- 37:38Speaker 1: kept on putting up barriers and all sorts of things.
- 37:40Speaker 1: We were like, every time we wanted to do something,
- 37:44Speaker 1: he couldn't do it, and you know, it was just like, well,
- 37:47Speaker 1: you're either do it or you're not into it. So
- 37:49Speaker 1: we end up having to replace him.
- 37:51Speaker 2: And it's not a bad replacement. Mick O Jane's not
- 37:55Speaker 2: a bad replacement.
- 37:56Speaker 1: Yeah, well that's right, yeah, absolutely so yeah. So so
- 38:02Speaker 1: we got Mick in and we just started getting the
- 38:06Speaker 1: ball rolling and everything was sounding great. And I got
- 38:12Speaker 1: because John Hayes, one of the early guitar players, was
- 38:15Speaker 1: in the band as well, and I got in a
- 38:19Speaker 1: friend of mine, Steve Down. We called him Stab because
- 38:25Speaker 1: we worked together for years and there were two bet
- 38:28Speaker 1: Steve's in the other band that we're in, So one
- 38:31Speaker 1: was Steven, one was Stab because stav Ross is Greek
- 38:33Speaker 1: for Steve. So Stevie Down joined the band and we
- 38:41Speaker 1: got a friend of mine in to replace Alan. I
- 38:45Speaker 1: must say that I talked to the Friar family first,
- 38:48Speaker 1: before we went ahead with this, I wanted them have
- 38:51Speaker 1: their blessing, you know, you know, before I went ahead
- 38:55Speaker 1: and did it, and they loved the idea. And Alan
- 38:59Speaker 1: had said to me before her He actually said to
- 39:01Speaker 1: me lots. You know, if anything happens and I don't
- 39:07Speaker 1: pull through, I want you to keep it going.
- 39:10Speaker 2: That's super hell.
- 39:11Speaker 1: So yeah, so that's what I'm doing. And so yeah,
- 39:18Speaker 1: we replaced out with a guy called Pete Millwood. Now
- 39:24Speaker 1: Pete hasn't done a lot of band work, but he's
- 39:26Speaker 1: done a lot of session work, and there's a lot
- 39:32Speaker 1: of stuff you would hear on radio that's him. You
- 39:36Speaker 1: wouldn't even know it. Sensational voice. He can sound like
- 39:44Speaker 1: Halford Rob Halford. But then again he can sound like
- 39:48Speaker 1: David Coverdall, or he can sound like John Farnham, or
- 39:51Speaker 1: he could sound like Angry Anderson, the Guy, the Guy,
- 39:57Speaker 1: the Guy. It's just he can mold his voice, and
- 40:01Speaker 1: that's what they used to use him through Sony Records
- 40:05Speaker 1: and doing doing session work and also for commercials and
- 40:11Speaker 1: stuff because he can emulate anything. So and he'd been
- 40:18Speaker 1: made of mind for many years and he's a great
- 40:21Speaker 1: blake so I got him involved. But then as soon
- 40:26Speaker 1: as we basically we'd had like a month's rehearsal, and
- 40:32Speaker 1: then bloody COVID hit, didn't it. I haven't killed everything.
- 40:37Speaker 1: That absolutely killed everything. We couldn't We couldn't go out
- 40:41Speaker 1: to rehearse, we couldn't do gigs. Luckily, the boys were
- 40:47Speaker 1: all sort of you know, strong members, and they all
- 40:52Speaker 1: held in there. And it wasn't until like twenty twenty
- 40:58Speaker 1: two when I think that's I think that's when sort
- 41:03Speaker 1: of COVID was sort of passed and where we could
- 41:06Speaker 1: get on with our lives. We could start rehearsing and
- 41:12Speaker 1: doing a few shows. But I guess it's the same
- 41:16Speaker 1: all over the world. But there was a flick, a
- 41:19Speaker 1: switch that had been flicked in the music industry, and
- 41:22Speaker 1: everything had changed. People were more interested in seeing cover
- 41:27Speaker 1: bands than they were original bands. There were pubs and
- 41:34Speaker 1: clubs that instead of paying you to playing bands to play, right,
- 41:41Speaker 1: paying bands to play, you had to pay them to
- 41:45Speaker 1: use the room. And it was just like what what
- 41:49Speaker 1: what the fuck is going on here? You know? But anyway,
- 41:52Speaker 1: so these days it's a lot harder to get shows
- 41:58Speaker 1: unless you're a cover band. I mean, and good luck
- 42:00Speaker 1: to the cover bands. I'm not knocking them that they're
- 42:04Speaker 1: out there doing it and making money and that's I
- 42:07Speaker 1: don't have a problem with that. But for us original bands, yeah,
- 42:14Speaker 1: the industry had just been killed by COVID. So these days,
- 42:18Speaker 1: when you do a show, and this it's out in
- 42:22Speaker 1: the country, most of the city shows, you actually have
- 42:26Speaker 1: to hire the room, then hire the production people, the
- 42:32Speaker 1: sound guy, lighting, go whatever you need, and then you
- 42:37Speaker 1: have to pay the venue a portion of the door money.
- 42:43Speaker 2: Are they're taking no risk at all? Sorry, they're taking
- 42:46Speaker 2: no risk at all?
- 42:47Speaker 1: Basically, No, no, no, they're not. They're making money off you. Yeah.
- 42:51Speaker 1: And it's also in some cases they actually ask you
- 42:58Speaker 1: for ten percent of your merch money.
- 43:00Speaker 2: Yes, I've heard that that's criminal. That should not be allowed.
- 43:03Speaker 1: No, it shouldn't be. But this is what they're doing.
- 43:06Speaker 1: They're saying, well, if you're going to sell T shirts
- 43:08Speaker 1: and stuff on our premises, we want ten percent of it.
- 43:12Speaker 1: You know, and you might have put out ten grand
- 43:14Speaker 1: on T shirts and stuff yourself, your bands pay for it,
- 43:20Speaker 1: right and you expect to get that money back, but
- 43:22Speaker 1: these people want ten percent of it. It's like, no,
- 43:25Speaker 1: that can't happen. But that's the way it is these days,
- 43:29Speaker 1: and you know, unfortunately for us, we just have to
- 43:34Speaker 1: have to roll with it. So it becomes extremely hard
- 43:38Speaker 1: because to put on a show.
- 43:39Speaker 2: It's actually cost you, like for us.
- 43:43Speaker 1: To walk into a show, it generally costs us twelve
- 43:47Speaker 1: hundred bucks fifteen hundred bucks straight up out of our
- 43:50Speaker 1: pocket to put the show on, and then we sell tickets.
- 43:55Speaker 1: We have to sell tickets to make that money back.
- 43:57Speaker 1: So yeah, but that don't give us ten percent of
- 44:01Speaker 1: the bar taking.
- 44:01Speaker 2: To that dreads these days made because it's licensing to
- 44:09Speaker 2: your next show. Actually, you've got a show coming up
- 44:13Speaker 2: Rocker Room in Sydney on November seventh with Department of Gloom,
- 44:16Speaker 2: No Ball and Stone Rising.
- 44:18Speaker 1: That's correct, Yeah, yeah, looking forward to that. Yeah, it's
- 44:20Speaker 1: going to be great. Stone Rising and have worked with
- 44:23Speaker 1: us many times. The great little band, the full on
- 44:30Speaker 1: hard rock chick singer and she's got she's got fucking attitude.
- 44:36Speaker 1: Let me tell you, great close friends of mine, and
- 44:39Speaker 1: she she really she really gives it her all when
- 44:43Speaker 1: she gets out and sings Department of Gloom Lino Lino
- 44:48Speaker 1: d has been a friend of mine, probably close to
- 44:52Speaker 1: forty years I'd say, from when he was in Candy Harlot's. Yeah, yeah,
- 44:58Speaker 1: back in those days. And uh no, bo, Well, this
- 45:04Speaker 1: is a young guy that's coming up through the ranks.
- 45:06Speaker 1: He's I think it was his name, James van Hest.
- 45:10Speaker 1: I've heard good reports about him. Hard working boy. I'm
- 45:17Speaker 1: really looking forward to checking out this set that night.
- 45:23Speaker 1: But yeah, maybe it's going to be a great show. Yeah,
- 45:27Speaker 1: like you said, November seventh, the Bootleggers in Newtown, Sydney.
- 45:31Speaker 2: Nice and you got another one to Bridge Hotel on Friday,
- 45:34Speaker 2: December thirtih with a salute we do.
- 45:38Speaker 1: I don't have the name of the support band for
- 45:40Speaker 1: that yet. We're still sort of sussing out who we're
- 45:43Speaker 1: going to use for it. But that's that's going to
- 45:46Speaker 1: be a bit of a special show because we've been
- 45:51Speaker 1: asked to do a a salute to Black Sabbath. So
- 46:03Speaker 1: because the fact we toured with Black Sabbath on the
- 46:05Speaker 1: board again tour in America, there's a bit of a
- 46:10Speaker 1: connection there and when we were approached about it, we
- 46:16Speaker 1: sort of thought, well, look, we're not a cover band,
- 46:20Speaker 1: but to honor some people that been a big part
- 46:27Speaker 1: of metal the real godfathers of metal and h and
- 46:36Speaker 1: because the fact we toured with him for I think
- 46:37Speaker 1: it was three months, we decided, yeah, we will do
- 46:44Speaker 1: a set like a sixth song salute to Black Sabbath awesome.
- 46:55Speaker 1: So so it's just something that we feel that we'd
- 47:00Speaker 1: like to do. So it's only going to be for
- 47:02Speaker 1: one night. Yeah, if it goes well, we might do
- 47:05Speaker 1: it another another night, So the December the seventh, that's
- 47:13Speaker 1: the December thirteenth at the Bridge, and that'll have the
- 47:18Speaker 1: the Sabbath set in there as well.
- 47:21Speaker 2: Very nice. Now I've running out of time because I've
- 47:22Speaker 2: got another inny of you Shorly, But I've got to
- 47:24Speaker 2: ask is is this just the live libry unions for
- 47:27Speaker 2: the band or your plan on writing and recording as well?
- 47:30Speaker 1: Oh, I know we've got songs ready. We're going to
- 47:33Speaker 1: be recording next year.
- 47:35Speaker 2: Very nice.
- 47:36Speaker 1: Yeah, Yeah, it's going to be.
- 47:37Speaker 2: The same sort of stuff, probably going to bring it
- 47:39Speaker 2: back a bit modern.
- 47:43Speaker 1: The stuff that we're writing. The way I see it,
- 47:48Speaker 1: it's going to be probably a little heavier than what
- 47:51Speaker 1: we used to be. Nice because i mean, like you know,
- 47:56Speaker 1: being an eighties band they called us Metal Book. We're
- 48:00Speaker 1: nowhere near as heavy as the modern day bands metal
- 48:04Speaker 1: bands that you know. We're back in sort of like
- 48:11Speaker 1: the the the old British metal type what do they
- 48:16Speaker 1: call it, Yeah, you era of heavy metal or something
- 48:23Speaker 1: like that back in the day, So we're we're more
- 48:27Speaker 1: like that. So we don't there's no scream over us
- 48:32Speaker 1: or any hardcore or anything like that, but it will
- 48:34Speaker 1: be tougher. Y.
- 48:36Speaker 2: I think there'll be more live shows coming up. I'm assumming.
- 48:39Speaker 1: Oh absolutely. We've got a tour in Japan around the
- 48:43Speaker 1: end of April beginning of May.
- 48:45Speaker 2: Yep uh.
- 48:47Speaker 1: We've got some dates in Melbourne, tentative dates for March. Queensland,
- 48:56Speaker 1: we've got some of them around Arch April, and as
- 49:04Speaker 1: far as I know, that's that. So we've got so
- 49:08Speaker 1: far up to sort of June. Of course there'll be
- 49:11Speaker 1: Sydney dates in that as well, which I mean they
- 49:15Speaker 1: usually books about three months out, so we're having a
- 49:18Speaker 1: little highatus over from from December the thirteenth. We're going
- 49:22Speaker 1: to have a couple of months off just to solidify
- 49:25Speaker 1: the new songs, get them ready for recording, and then
- 49:29Speaker 1: we'll just go out. We'll go out and hit the pubs,
- 49:31Speaker 1: and clubs and have a bit of a tour in Japan.
