- 0:32Speaker 4: Hi, I'm Cortland Hull.
- 0:33Speaker 5: Of the Witches Dungeon Classic Movie Museum in Bristol, Connecticut.
- 0:36Speaker 3: And this is Movie Meltdown.
- 0:46Speaker 4: It's time for Sofa Theater. Need any help down there?
- 0:57Speaker 6: No, Clara, thanks.
- 0:58Speaker 7: It's time.
- 0:59Speaker 4: Last minute straightening up down here. God, I think I
- 1:01Speaker 4: worked so hard in my life. You sure you don't
- 1:06Speaker 4: want me to stay?
- 1:07Speaker 8: There's gonna be nobody around here to help till the
- 1:10Speaker 8: first ferry back Monday, you know.
- 1:12Speaker 9: No, Clara, you're a peach.
- 1:14Speaker 1: This one's mine.
- 1:15Speaker 4: I told my father I'd do it, and I will,
- 1:17Speaker 4: my way. We don't want him to have any excuses.
- 1:21Speaker 3: All right, then.
- 1:23Speaker 4: Have a nice party. Nice... He's got to be better
- 1:29Speaker 4: than nice.
- 1:31Speaker 1: He's got to be bloody unforgettable.
- 1:34Speaker 10: Good luck.
- 1:35Speaker 11: Burning hot like an April Fool. Won't you be my
- 1:44Speaker 11: fashion victim? Come on, I'm an April Fool. I'm a
- 1:53Speaker 11: bitch with a snowball. Jokes on you.
- 1:57Speaker 3: I'm an April.
- 2:04Speaker 4: Welcome to Movie Meltdown Sofa Theater. Once again, I am Brian.
- 2:08Speaker 4: That's Roger.
- 2:08Speaker 1: I am Misty.
- 2:09Speaker 4: And Marlene has gotten lost since the last time. She
- 2:12Speaker 4: went to go hang out with dinosaurs. She gets easily distracted.
- 2:17Speaker 1: There were shiny things. She went shopping without me.
- 2:20Speaker 4: Probably. All right, so this week's Silver Theater feature is
- 2:26Speaker 4: April Fool's Day, and I am nominating it as one
- 2:29Speaker 4: of the video boxes that warped my brain. Yeah, definitely.
- 2:32Speaker 4: It is one of the best visual concepts for a box,
- 2:36Speaker 4: and most people that saw it probably saw it on VHS.
- 2:40Speaker 4: I can't think of anybody I knew at the time
- 2:43Speaker 4: who actually went to the theater and saw this movie,
- 2:45Speaker 4: so it's It's probably one you picked up on VHS,
- 2:48Speaker 4: and more than likely it's because the box art was
- 2:50Speaker 4: just so, I don't know. What the hell? Yeah, it
- 2:54Speaker 4: just sucks you in. You have to know.
- 2:55Speaker 1: I don't know that I ever saw the box art.
- 2:58Speaker 4: It was on the menu page. It's them all sitting
- 3:01Speaker 4: at the table, and she's standing, her standing in front
- 3:04Speaker 4: of them, and yeah, the back of her hair is
- 3:06Speaker 4: braided like a noose. Oh, yeah. She's on the knife-y.
- 3:09Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:10Speaker 4: It's pretty awesome. So, yep, it's very simple and perfect.
- 3:14Speaker 4: Horror movie kind of, it suckers you in. This movie does. So,
- 3:19Speaker 4: the year is 1986. Director Fred Walton and, I guess, plot.
- 3:24Speaker 4: Let's see. We'll go with the, there was a pretty
- 3:26Speaker 4: simple IMDb plot here. Let's see. A group of nine
- 3:29Speaker 4: college students staying at a friend's remote island mansion begin
- 3:32Speaker 4: to fall victim to an unseen murder over April Fool's
- 3:35Speaker 4: Day weekend. We'll leave it at that. And then we
- 3:38Speaker 4: will throw out a huge spoiler alert.
- 3:40Speaker 5: It's hard to talk about this movie without letting it
- 3:44Speaker 5: out of the bag.
- 3:46Speaker 4: And it's one of those, you know, you can only
- 3:48Speaker 4: see it that first time once. So, you know, go
- 3:50Speaker 4: and watch it before you listen to us totally go
- 3:53Speaker 4: to town on it. You have been warned. Moving on. So,
- 3:57Speaker 4: all right, Misty.
- 3:58Speaker 1: I hated this movie.
- 3:59Speaker 8: For the love of fucking Christ, every character in this
- 4:02Speaker 8: movie could not die fast enough.
- 4:04Speaker 5: And then at the end, it was just a big disappointment.
- 4:06Speaker 5: They were super disappointed because none of them actually died
- 4:09Speaker 5: at all.
- 4:09Speaker 1: I know. I was so pissed.
- 4:10Speaker 8: I was like, oh, my God, are you serious? I
- 4:12Speaker 8: was so excited that I actually thought these fuckers were
- 4:14Speaker 8: going to die.
- 4:16Speaker 4: Fucking movie.
- 4:19Speaker 1: I hated this movie. I hated everything about it.
- 4:20Speaker 12: It was a good time. How could you hate it?
- 4:23Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying.
- 4:24Speaker 12: Do you like slasher movies at all?
- 4:26Speaker 1: I do. I love slasher movies. That's why I.
- 4:27Speaker 5: Don't understand how you can hate this movie. Because slasher
- 4:30Speaker 5: movies notoriously have bad characters you want to die.
- 4:33Speaker 1: But at least they usually die.
- 4:35Speaker 12: Yeah, but that's the good twist.
- 4:37Speaker 4: On the end.
- 4:38Speaker 1: No, I wanted them dead. That's the thing.
- 4:40Speaker 12: I wanted them dead.
- 4:42Speaker 5: So I guess basically if we turn it off at
- 4:44Speaker 5: a certain point, then you would have been like, that
- 4:46Speaker 5: was good.
- 4:47Speaker 8: I watched it and it wouldn't go that far. The
- 4:50Speaker 8: only redeemable quality for this movie was the song at
- 4:52Speaker 8: the end.
- 4:53Speaker 4: The song is awesome. It's a great song. We're definitely
- 4:55Speaker 4: going out on that song.
- 4:56Speaker 12: Oh, fuck yeah. It makes so much sense.
- 4:59Speaker 1: I hated this movie. I hated everything. I hated everything. Everything.
- 5:05Speaker 4: See, I don't understand that. Everything.
- 5:08Speaker 3: Everything.
- 5:09Speaker 4: Because this is, 90% of it is just a traditional
- 5:12Speaker 4: slasher movie.
- 5:13Speaker 5: Which I liked, you know, because I kind of like
- 5:15Speaker 5: how it started out. I mean, I remember the first
- 5:18Speaker 5: time I ever saw it, you know, when it was
- 5:20Speaker 5: on VHS. And, of course, somebody rented it. Somebody's parents
- 5:24Speaker 5: rented it for us for some reason because we were
- 5:26Speaker 5: too young to watch or supposed to be watching these
- 5:28Speaker 5: types of movies.
- 5:29Speaker 4: Of course.
- 5:29Speaker 5: And I just remember the guy getting his face crushed
- 5:34Speaker 5: by the.
- 5:34Speaker 12: Boat or whatever the hell happened when he was down there.
- 5:37Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:37Speaker 5: I remember that really freaked me out because, you know,
- 5:41Speaker 5: I kind of thought, like, God, what if I was
- 5:42Speaker 5: out having fun with my friends? And then something horribly
- 5:45Speaker 5: terrible happened like that.
- 5:47Speaker 1: A boat hit you in the face.
- 5:49Speaker 12: A lot of people wish a boat would hit me
- 5:50Speaker 12: in the face.
- 5:51Speaker 4: All of a sudden your friend's eyeball was hanging out. Well, especially, yeah,
- 5:54Speaker 4: the whole eyeball hanging out.
- 5:55Speaker 12: I was like, oh, my God, please get him to
- 5:56Speaker 12: a doctor as fast as possible. But, you know, that
- 5:59Speaker 12: kind of freaked me out.
- 6:00Speaker 5: And so, I don't know, I probably like this movie
- 6:03Speaker 5: because I've had, you know, a longer standing history of, Yeah.
- 6:06Speaker 12: You know, I remember way back when, and I liked
- 6:08Speaker 12: it back then.
- 6:09Speaker 5: Especially the whole payoff at the end I thought was
- 6:11Speaker 5: good because I liked how they were all just sitting around, like,
- 6:15Speaker 5: playing chess or building card houses or whatever, and the
- 6:18Speaker 5: one dude just standing against the wall drinking by himself, like.
- 6:22Speaker 4: What? It's almost like surreal at that moment.
- 6:26Speaker 1: Yeah, totally.
- 6:26Speaker 12: Because she's screaming like nuts.
- 6:28Speaker 4: They're going through the motions of like talking, but they're not.
- 6:30Speaker 4: Not talking, yeah. It's like this little dream that she's
- 6:33Speaker 4: in the middle of all of a sudden.
- 6:34Speaker 12: Which you get caught up in because you yourself are like,
- 6:36Speaker 12: what the.
- 6:37Speaker 4: Fuck is going on? Yeah, what the hell happened?
- 6:38Speaker 5: Yeah. And I like that, you know, because not many
- 6:41Speaker 5: movies can take you there like, I mean, you know,
- 6:44Speaker 5: that whole twist at the end, you know.
- 6:47Speaker 4: See, this was the twist at the end before it
- 6:48Speaker 4: was fashionable to have a twist at the end. This
- 6:50Speaker 4: was a twist at the end when they didn't have
- 6:52Speaker 4: one before, really, and there was not another one like
- 6:55Speaker 4: this for another, like, 20 years, really. It's like they didn't,
- 6:58Speaker 4: it wasn't the stupid thing to do, really, was to
- 7:01Speaker 4: have that kind of massive twist at the end.
- 7:03Speaker 1: Yeah, but even with the twist, I just didn't care.
- 7:05Speaker 1: I was just like, ugh.
- 7:07Speaker 8: I was aggravated at the movie. Because unlike most slashers,
- 7:10Speaker 8: you don't see anybody die at any point.
- 7:13Speaker 4: But now it makes sense. Because I remember watching it
- 7:15Speaker 4: this past time, looking at it, and like, well, it
- 7:18Speaker 4: is different from most lectures because they don't, you get
- 7:21Speaker 4: the gore, but it's all after the fact. And then
- 7:23Speaker 4: it makes sense by the end of the movie. There's
- 7:25Speaker 4: a reason you don't see them die. Fuckers. Yeah.
- 7:30Speaker 1: I'm mad at this movie. Stupid, stupid movie.
- 7:35Speaker 4: See, I wondered if it was just seeing it now.
- 7:38Speaker 4: Because that's the thing, Marlena seemed kind of annoyed at
- 7:40Speaker 4: this movie too. And you two had never seen it before.
- 7:43Speaker 4: Roger and I have both seen it.
- 7:45Speaker 5: Because, I mean, movies that have come out now and
- 7:47Speaker 5: how movies are now, I mean, definitely the whole twist
- 7:49Speaker 5: thing is done to death. And so, yeah, like way
- 7:52Speaker 5: back in the day, like this was like awesome.
- 7:55Speaker 4: This was groundbreaking. Yeah, really.
- 7:57Speaker 5: Especially because it was a slasher flick that wasn't a
- 7:59Speaker 5: slasher flick. And, you know, thinking back now, like seeing,
- 8:03Speaker 5: I can't remember her name. The chick that was from
- 8:06Speaker 5: Friday the 13th Part II.
- 8:08Speaker 4: Oh yeah, Part II.
- 8:08Speaker 5: You know, and she was like a big scream queen
- 8:11Speaker 5: or whatever back then.
- 8:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:13Speaker 12: I was glad to see that she was in it.
- 8:15Speaker 4: Well, this is like a whole cast of, oh, it's
- 8:17Speaker 4: that person.
- 8:18Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:18Speaker 4: Because you've got like the.
- 8:19Speaker 12: Biff from Back to the Future.
- 8:21Speaker 4: Yeah, you've got Biff, who, we'll go into him in
- 8:24Speaker 4: a minute. You've got Debra Foreman's your valet girl. So
- 8:26Speaker 4: if Jay was here, he could once again talk about
- 8:28Speaker 4: valet girl.
- 8:30Speaker 3: Oh.
- 8:31Speaker 4: The guy's like, oh, it's that guy from summer school. Oh,
- 8:34Speaker 4: it's that girl from Friday the 13th too. It's like
- 8:36Speaker 4: a whole collection of these people that were like. in
- 8:38Speaker 4: the movie that was popular last year. They took everybody
- 8:41Speaker 4: that was sort of a side character. None of these
- 8:44Speaker 4: were real stars. Their performance kind of the closest thing,
- 8:46Speaker 4: and she disappeared at this point. This was kind of
- 8:49Speaker 4: the end of it. She was big for a two,
- 8:52Speaker 4: three year span, and then disappeared again.
- 8:54Speaker 12: I think she just got sick of it. Literally, it
- 8:56Speaker 12: was like, I'm done.
- 8:58Speaker 1: Did you ever watch the remake of this movie? Did
- 9:00Speaker 1: it have the same twist?
- 9:02Speaker 12: Well, I don't want to watch it.
- 9:04Speaker 4: Do we want to go ahead and go into that
- 9:06Speaker 4: one now? Yeah, let's just attack that.
- 9:07Speaker 5: We'll come back to the other version here.
- 9:11Speaker 4: But yeah, so just this week, that was one of the,
- 9:13Speaker 4: I said there were a couple of things I watched
- 9:15Speaker 4: that I was going to wait and go into, one
- 9:16Speaker 4: of which was the new version, the, what was it,
- 9:22Speaker 4: 2007 or 8? It was in the past couple of
- 9:23Speaker 4: years they did the new version of April Fool's Day. Wow.
- 9:29Speaker 4: I was given fair warning in the last week or
- 9:31Speaker 4: two when I mentioned it. I think Barb and Eskimo
- 9:35Speaker 4: got a hold of me on Twitter and were like, dude,
- 9:37Speaker 4: really don't watch that. Seriously, save yourself.
- 9:40Speaker 1: So, of course, you dove right in.
- 9:42Speaker 4: For the sake of the show, I will take one
- 9:44Speaker 4: for the team, damn it. I wasn't going to make
- 9:46Speaker 4: you guys suffer, but I will take one for the team.
- 9:49Speaker 4: So I went ahead to watch it just to be
- 9:51Speaker 4: able to discuss it and, you know, reflecting upon this movie.
- 9:56Speaker 13: Wow.
- 9:56Speaker 4: They were not kidding. If you think you hate these characters,
- 10:00Speaker 4: holy shit, you need to watch the remake. They are,
- 10:04Speaker 4: at least these characters are like, the 80s version is
- 10:07Speaker 4: like this conglomeration of like every little... caricature 80s person.
- 10:12Speaker 4: The jock. Yeah, you got the jock, you got the
- 10:14Speaker 4: guy with the camera. All of a sudden, every movie
- 10:16Speaker 4: had to have a guy with a camera in it
- 10:17Speaker 4: in the 80s. You've got the slutty girl, you've got the...
- 10:21Speaker 4: The prankster or whatever. Yeah, the couple. So it's like
- 10:25Speaker 4: everybody is represented in that one, but it's all kind
- 10:27Speaker 4: of normal. I didn't go out of my way to
- 10:29Speaker 4: hate any of them. They were all douchebags, but I
- 10:31Speaker 4: didn't like... These kids in the new one are like.
- 10:34Speaker 12: Over the top type?
- 10:35Speaker 4: No, it's an entirely different setup. The new one is
- 10:38Speaker 4: all super... high society. Like, everybody is super upscale.
- 10:44Speaker 3: Oh, no.
- 10:44Speaker 4: It's like the whole cast of, like, fucking Gossip Girl, basically.
- 10:48Speaker 3: It's not.
- 10:49Speaker 4: I mean, it's not any of these people, but that's
- 10:50Speaker 4: what it is. It's all these little WB kind of
- 10:53Speaker 4: pretty people.
- 10:53Speaker 3: Oh, wow.
- 10:54Speaker 4: And every one of them is, like, fucking rich. Like,
- 10:58Speaker 4: way more rich. You know, they be... heirs to the
- 11:01Speaker 4: entire company kind of rich, and each one of these
- 11:03Speaker 4: kids falls into that category, and they all drive their
- 11:06Speaker 4: fancy cars, and it starts off at the debutante ball
- 11:10Speaker 4: for one of them, and it's, yeah, I mean, the
- 11:12Speaker 4: entire thing exists in this world, so you already don't
- 11:16Speaker 4: like these characters, and then You spend all this time
- 11:19Speaker 4: in their little fancy world, and you're just like, oh, God,
- 11:23Speaker 4: fucking die.
- 11:24Speaker 12: Yeah, please die. For real, die.
- 11:26Speaker 4: Yeah, so there's no comparing the two. If you want
- 11:30Speaker 4: to hate some people, watch that remake. Jesus, they're annoying.
- 11:33Speaker 4: You think you hate them now? And they don't even...
- 11:35Speaker 4: And once again, I get pissed off when they make
- 11:37Speaker 4: remakes because I don't like either extreme. I don't like
- 11:41Speaker 4: when you do a straight shot-for-shot remake because it's boring.
- 11:44Speaker 4: I don't like when they don't... All you need to
- 11:46Speaker 4: do with a remake is take the good idea, the
- 11:48Speaker 4: basic element... Get what you need to get out of it,
- 11:52Speaker 4: but then go your own way with it. Don't just
- 11:55Speaker 4: rip off the name. Because that's basically what they do.
- 11:58Speaker 4: The name and that's about it. Maybe later there comes
- 12:01Speaker 4: a little bit in. But for the most part, it
- 12:04Speaker 4: starts off and they're really kind of ripping off, actually
- 12:08Speaker 4: more of like I Know What You Did Last Summer.
- 12:09Speaker 1: Oh, that movie was awesome though.
- 12:10Speaker 4: Yeah, well, this is No I Know What You Did
- 12:12Speaker 4: Last Summer, let me tell you. That's a cheesy movie.
- 12:14Speaker 4: I like that one. This is No I Know What
- 12:16Speaker 4: You Did Last Summer. So, yeah, they're tapping into that
- 12:19Speaker 4: stuff really heavy. And then as the killing starts, it's
- 12:23Speaker 4: almost got little moments of final destination. Like there's one
- 12:29Speaker 4: or two kills that just feel like you're watching final
- 12:31Speaker 4: destination like cut out scenes. It's like, yeah, it's such
- 12:35Speaker 4: a weird grouping. And then the only name even in
- 12:40Speaker 4: it is freaking Halloween girl. What's her name? Scout. Yeah, Scout. Scout.
- 12:45Speaker 4: Which Scout, I was never big on Scout anyway. I
- 12:47Speaker 4: said that in Halloween movies. But like, something, she might
- 12:50Speaker 4: have had like the same thing going on with, what's
- 12:53Speaker 4: your boy from the sci-fi movies now?
- 12:55Speaker 1: Sean Patrick Flynn?
- 12:56Speaker 4: Yeah, she might have the same thing. She's got this
- 12:58Speaker 4: weird puffy face thing going on.
- 13:01Speaker 12: She's allergic to air.
- 13:02Speaker 4: I guess. It was just, her face looks weird in
- 13:05Speaker 4: that whole movie. She just like, I'm like, I don't
- 13:07Speaker 4: remember her looking like that in Halloween. What the hell
- 13:09Speaker 4: happened during this shoot? But she looks weird. And there's
- 13:12Speaker 4: a whole bunch of nobodies. So it's just a big mess. Yeah,
- 13:16Speaker 4: it's just not fun in any way, shape, or form.
- 13:20Speaker 4: There's one little moment in the middle where it's almost
- 13:23Speaker 4: a clever scene where they think they know who the
- 13:25Speaker 4: killer is and then it takes this weird little turn.
- 13:28Speaker 4: There's one part that's almost like, wow, that would be
- 13:30Speaker 4: cool in a better movie. I hope they tackled it right. Yeah,
- 13:35Speaker 4: so if you get midway in and you see that scene,
- 13:38Speaker 4: that's it. It's all downhill from there.
- 13:40Speaker 1: So how did they end the remake?
- 13:42Speaker 4: Okay, double spoiler alert. We'll throw that out too. It's
- 13:46Speaker 4: not really, again, it's not the same way they do here.
- 13:49Speaker 3: They.
- 13:50Speaker 4: go through this whole thing, they've got all their tracking,
- 13:53Speaker 4: they try to pull this version, but they do it
- 13:54Speaker 4: a different way, it's like they're, there's somebody trying to
- 13:57Speaker 4: kill them all, because they, they kill some girl in
- 14:00Speaker 4: an accident in the beginning, and then a year later, they.
- 14:04Speaker 14: Start getting notes, that's what I'm saying, it's exactly, a
- 14:08Speaker 14: year later, they start getting these notes, just like, and
- 14:11Speaker 14: I know what you did last summer, that are like, blah, blah,
- 14:13Speaker 14: I don't know, then they have to meet at.
- 14:14Speaker 4: The cemetery, and then, There's this whole convoluted bunch of
- 14:17Speaker 4: shit that goes on. They're following somebody around the whole time,
- 14:21Speaker 4: and they think they know who it is. I saw
- 14:22Speaker 4: what happened last year. Yeah, it's retarded. So by the end,
- 14:28Speaker 4: they get to where they get the main girl who
- 14:31Speaker 4: kind of looks like Tiffany Amber Thiessen, but not so trashy.
- 14:35Speaker 4: She's sort of attractive, but it doesn't save her because
- 14:37Speaker 4: she's horrible in this movie. But they've got her, and
- 14:40Speaker 4: she's tied up, and she finally confesses to what she
- 14:43Speaker 4: did that screwed everything up. And then they're all, ha ha,
- 14:46Speaker 4: it was a joke. And then everybody who got killed
- 14:48Speaker 4: wasn't killed. But then in the end, they actually killed her. Oh, God.
- 14:52Speaker 4: And one kid did it to inherit money or something.
- 14:55Speaker 4: So yeah, if I get there, it's spoiled.
- 14:56Speaker 3: Who cares?
- 14:57Speaker 4: It's retarded. I'm spoiled. But it's not this thing. It's
- 15:02Speaker 4: not what they did in this movie. So it really
- 15:04Speaker 4: is just like, again, now it makes no sense. Now
- 15:07Speaker 4: it's just another stupid twist because we've seen.
- 15:09Speaker 13: A hundred of them since then.
- 15:11Speaker 4: But what they did in this movie and in the
- 15:14Speaker 4: 86 version is a very different thing. In my mind,
- 15:17Speaker 4: it's a very different thing.
- 15:20Speaker 1: I still hated it.
- 15:23Speaker 4: We can go through a few of the specifics along
- 15:25Speaker 4: the way. We get this sort of, again, every kid
- 15:28Speaker 4: has a video camera in the movies now. So you almost,
- 15:31Speaker 4: this is sort of the birth of that video verite section.
- 15:34Speaker 4: We get the opening scene where they've got him on camera.
- 15:38Speaker 4: And yeah, we just start to see the infancy of
- 15:41Speaker 4: what that will become in the next 10 years.
- 15:43Speaker 8: But it still just seems so pointless in this movie
- 15:44Speaker 8: because usually later on when they use it, somebody finds
- 15:47Speaker 8: the camera and they see footage on there.
- 15:49Speaker 4: Yeah, it was just not for that purpose. At this point,
- 15:52Speaker 4: it was just like the novelty of, oh my God,
- 15:54Speaker 4: you can hold your own camera.
- 15:55Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 15:56Speaker 3: I mean.
- 15:56Speaker 4: Nobody could do that except for cheesy super eights, you know?
- 15:59Speaker 4: So this was sort of that.
- 16:01Speaker 3: It was.
- 16:01Speaker 4: It was like the 80s novelty of, hey, this kid's
- 16:03Speaker 4: got a movie camera.
- 16:05Speaker 1: And I hate it.
- 16:09Speaker 4: Oh, let's see. What else? I don't know. It does
- 16:12Speaker 4: a lot of good setup, though. I mean, I think
- 16:15Speaker 4: just that whole little creepy jack-in-the-box scene at the beginning. Yeah, oh, definitely.
- 16:19Speaker 4: It almost is like sucking you in right off the bat.
- 16:21Speaker 4: It's like it's got the cheesy flashback you know filter
- 16:26Speaker 4: on the camera and you've got the lullaby music going
- 16:29Speaker 4: and it's all fairy tale like and then you've got
- 16:31Speaker 4: this monster popped out of your face so like right
- 16:34Speaker 4: off the bat they're sort of setting it up like
- 16:36Speaker 4: okay you know what we're gonna dupe you it's like
- 16:38Speaker 4: we're gonna present you with one thing and give you
- 16:40Speaker 4: something else and i i like that they set it
- 16:43Speaker 4: up that way and it's one of these movies that
- 16:45Speaker 4: and i don't know if you'll ever want to do
- 16:47Speaker 4: this again but going back and watching it again it
- 16:49Speaker 4: becomes a very different movie it's like watching it this
- 16:52Speaker 4: time you see a whole lot of other stuff going
- 16:56Speaker 4: on that you never really, I mean, you don't know
- 16:58Speaker 4: to catch the first time around, but there's a lot
- 17:00Speaker 4: of setup. Again, I think it's pieced together really well,
- 17:03Speaker 4: the way they do this, because there's a lot of
- 17:04Speaker 4: stuff that's put into play in the beginning that does
- 17:07Speaker 4: come full circle.
- 17:09Speaker 5: It feels smarter than something that just was hodgepodge together, like, okay,
- 17:14Speaker 5: this is our idea, and we don't have a lot
- 17:16Speaker 5: of money, and blah, blah, blah, and they just throw
- 17:18Speaker 5: it out there, like throwing a bucket of painted canvas
- 17:20Speaker 5: and just seeing what sticks. It seemed like that The flow,
- 17:23Speaker 5: I remember, of the movie is really good. Yeah, I
- 17:26Speaker 5: was never led on to the fact that This could
- 17:30Speaker 5: be fake or blah, blah, blah. You know, I was
- 17:32Speaker 5: buying into it as much as the people going along were.
- 17:34Speaker 4: That's one of the, it does so because they, they
- 17:36Speaker 4: throw in all these pranks at the beginning. So you'd
- 17:39Speaker 4: think they're almost like letting you know, Hey, this is all,
- 17:41Speaker 4: you know, but midway in, they kind of sucker you in.
- 17:45Speaker 4: And I think it's just because you're so used to
- 17:47Speaker 4: seeing slasher movies. Like you're so used to falling into
- 17:50Speaker 4: that mode of, Oh shit, they're going to get killed now.
- 17:52Speaker 4: So you, that kind of snaps in you and you're like,
- 17:54Speaker 4: all right, you move into that kind of movie and,
- 17:57Speaker 4: Without even realizing that, you know, they're leading you down
- 17:59Speaker 4: that path. Oh, man, what else? You gotta be kidding.
- 18:07Speaker 4: Unless Muffy knows something about us, we don't.
- 18:12Speaker 13: Hold me, big fella.
- 18:13Speaker 3: Hold me!
- 18:14Speaker 4: Just holster it, cowboy. Let's play hide the sausage.
- 18:18Speaker 7: Mickey, help!
- 18:19Speaker 6: Stop!
- 18:20Speaker 4: I only recommend can hold another man. Misty, you and
- 18:26Speaker 4: Marlena were thrilled at all the weird gay innuendo.
- 18:30Speaker 1: Lord, that was the gayest damn movie I've ever seen.
- 18:33Speaker 4: It's not even innuendo.
- 18:34Speaker 12: A lot of bromance going on.
- 18:35Speaker 4: Yeah, it was blatantly like, you guys are just one
- 18:39Speaker 4: shade away from doing it.
- 18:40Speaker 12: Just cock grabbing.
- 18:41Speaker 4: Go ahead. At this point, get it over with. Just, yeah.
- 18:45Speaker 4: Which is actually kind of weird because it's actually for
- 18:48Speaker 4: the time period.
- 18:48Speaker 7: At that point.
- 18:49Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 18:49Speaker 4: It's like, you really didn't have, I mean, now you
- 18:51Speaker 4: can get away with a lot and that's, you know, fine, whatever.
- 18:55Speaker 4: I mean, they, they show plenty of stuff on movies
- 18:57Speaker 4: and TV and everywhere at this point, but, For 86,
- 19:00Speaker 4: this was sort of like a lot of random gay activity.
- 19:04Speaker 4: Especially since nobody in this is technically gay, but come on, Biff,
- 19:08Speaker 4: I mean... Biff is gay. Biff might as well... I mean,
- 19:12Speaker 4: he's got the classic scenario of he's doing all these
- 19:14Speaker 4: things that are obviously gay to everyone else, but then he's,
- 19:18Speaker 4: you know... continually looking for chicks and talking about how
- 19:22Speaker 4: he's gonna.
- 19:23Speaker 5: The dark guy very alpha male whatever trying.
- 19:26Speaker 4: To see how many girls he can nail you know
- 19:28Speaker 4: i'm just like yeah cover up god get it over
- 19:32Speaker 4: with you got a boner for a boner he's not
- 19:35Speaker 4: really bad yeah he's just back to the future back
- 19:38Speaker 4: to the future but yeah you might as well be
- 19:41Speaker 4: sure Oh man, what else? Once again, this was just
- 19:46Speaker 4: another example that it sort of proved our point that
- 19:49Speaker 4: we brought up. a long time ago of they once
- 19:52Speaker 4: again throw out a line that's like these kids are
- 19:54Speaker 4: all sitting there and they don't know what to do
- 19:55Speaker 4: with their lives and they're like, Why bother figuring out
- 19:59Speaker 4: what to do with our lives when somebody can push
- 20:02Speaker 4: a button and nuke us all? Yeah, really. And it
- 20:04Speaker 4: is one of those that whole, like, you know, slacker.
- 20:07Speaker 5: Slacker, end of the Cold War kind of era type
- 20:10Speaker 5: deals where.
- 20:11Speaker 4: That bred that entire Generation X of slackers that, like,
- 20:15Speaker 4: had nothing to do with their lives because.
- 20:16Speaker 12: Because we're going to be nuked tomorrow anyway, so it
- 20:19Speaker 12: doesn't matter.
- 20:19Speaker 4: What's the point? Yeah. So this doesn't really delve into that,
- 20:23Speaker 4: but I like... It was so, like... constant in the
- 20:26Speaker 4: 80s that every movie there's like somebody's got some sort
- 20:28Speaker 4: of line because we all just became so used to
- 20:31Speaker 4: it at this point. It just became like everyday life.
- 20:33Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 20:34Speaker 4: Well, uh, Harv's got his job interview all figured out.
- 20:40Speaker 4: What about the rest of us? Does anyone know what
- 20:42Speaker 4: they're going to be doing after graduation?
- 20:46Speaker 1: Good choice, Ash.
- 20:50Speaker 4: This is incredible.
- 20:51Speaker 13: Here we are, privileged independent, the hope for the future
- 20:56Speaker 13: right at this table.
- 20:57Speaker 4: Not one of us knows what we're going to do
- 20:59Speaker 4: with the rest of our lives.
- 21:01Speaker 1: Cholera.
- 21:01Speaker 4: You got your cholera?
- 21:02Speaker 1: Oh God, I hate it back there.
- 21:06Speaker 4: Everybody there was a lot of collar popping in this
- 21:08Speaker 4: movie oh god I didn't even realize nice he would
- 21:11Speaker 4: like specifically do it like that was they would make
- 21:14Speaker 4: the joke of you know he's got two modes collar
- 21:16Speaker 4: up and collar down.
- 21:17Speaker 12: Oh jesus once again this.
- 21:20Speaker 4: Is an era that is long gone and probably best.
- 21:23Speaker 5: For a good reason definitely no the pop collar is
- 21:26Speaker 5: still around well.
- 21:26Speaker 4: It's come back around though it disappeared for quite a
- 21:29Speaker 4: while in the last like five years.
- 21:31Speaker 5: Or so the douche bags have resurfaced oh my god yikes.
- 21:37Speaker 4: Oh lord I don't know but it's got I mean
- 21:39Speaker 4: this movie sets up so many very specific and kind
- 21:43Speaker 4: of cliched horror moments but it's sort of playing on
- 21:46Speaker 4: them all you've got your classic cat scare and you've
- 21:49Speaker 4: got the you know even the cheesy picture with the eyes.
- 21:52Speaker 5: Cut out the eyes behind it it's old school it's
- 21:54Speaker 5: like god damn black and white.
- 21:56Speaker 8: Almost yeah I want that clock though that clock was
- 21:59Speaker 8: friggin awesome.
- 21:59Speaker 4: That clock was pretty damn cool the lighted cat.
- 22:02Speaker 1: Clock with the eyes fuck yeah I want.
- 22:04Speaker 4: That But it even plays into the grand play-upon scheme,
- 22:08Speaker 4: which is the evil twin scenario.
- 22:10Speaker 7: Yep, yep, yep, yep.
- 22:10Speaker 1: I was pretty sure the evil twin was coming to
- 22:12Speaker 1: get him.
- 22:13Speaker 4: Don't that chick look crazy? I mean, I'll say that.
- 22:15Speaker 4: She looked crazy as hell.
- 22:16Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 22:16Speaker 4: Especially at the end. It's like, oh, wow. Well, she
- 22:20Speaker 4: does have that changeover. You have to... Again, it's like they,
- 22:24Speaker 4: watching it this time, I mean, there is that next day,
- 22:27Speaker 4: she becomes a different person. You're like, why the hell
- 22:29Speaker 4: is she so different? Because all of a sudden now,
- 22:31Speaker 4: she's an entirely different character. Yeah, she's supposed to be
- 22:33Speaker 4: a different character. It's one of those, yeah, you guys
- 22:36Speaker 4: seem kind of thrown off by that the first time around.
- 22:39Speaker 4: The things were happening.
- 22:40Speaker 1: From having good hair to bad hair.
- 22:42Speaker 4: Seriously. Different character. Yeah, different hair. And had fancy clothes,
- 22:45Speaker 4: and then she was wearing that. Shabby shab, like, yeah, whatever.
- 22:48Speaker 4: Fucking thrift store.
- 22:49Speaker 12: Homely, yeah, huh.
- 22:51Speaker 4: Nurse shoes, as the girl put it.
- 22:55Speaker 5: But I like that the movie just plays upon what you,
- 22:57Speaker 5: your expectations of what you're seeing and what you're going
- 23:01Speaker 5: in for. And so it's kind of like, you know,
- 23:03Speaker 5: the movie does play a trick on you, the audience,
- 23:06Speaker 5: the viewer, to a certain extent.
- 23:08Speaker 13: Do what?
- 23:09Speaker 1: I don't like being tricked.
- 23:10Speaker 4: You don't like anything.
- 23:11Speaker 1: I like something.
- 23:12Speaker 4: Star Trek. I do. And Butterscotch. I do like Butterscotch.
- 23:17Speaker 1: That's good. And caramel.
- 23:19Speaker 4: Caramel. Rainbows.
- 23:20Speaker 1: I'm going to say the ice cream sundae.
- 23:22Speaker 10: It was good.
- 23:24Speaker 8: I actually didn't know from the beginning of this movie
- 23:25Speaker 8: that I wasn't going to like it because I fucking
- 23:27Speaker 8: hate jack-in-the-boxes.
- 23:28Speaker 1: I hate anything that makes sudden sounds.
- 23:30Speaker 4: I can't.
- 23:31Speaker 8: Like, whenever Jay opens biscuits, I have to hide because
- 23:34Speaker 8: they make a sudden popping sound, and I don't like
- 23:36Speaker 8: being startled.
- 23:36Speaker 1: I just don't.
- 23:37Speaker 4: You don't like the freshness cap of the Snapple, you mean?
- 23:39Speaker 1: I don't like it. That one I can at least control, but, like, biscuits,
- 23:43Speaker 1: you never know when they're going to pop.
- 23:44Speaker 4: You never know when they're going.
- 23:45Speaker 1: To start pulling. You never know when it's going to come.
- 23:48Speaker 4: I don't trust that shit.
- 23:52Speaker 8: I never liked Jack in the Box because I don't
- 23:54Speaker 8: like the whole anticipation of.
- 23:56Speaker 5: I like Jack in the Box because they freak me out.
- 23:58Speaker 5: There's something eerie about them. There's always been something eerie
- 24:00Speaker 5: about them. Probably because of the freaking movies. Like Funhaus.
- 24:03Speaker 12: That's another movie that warped my brain.
- 24:05Speaker 5: The Funhaus movie where it's like a Jack in the
- 24:08Speaker 5: Box crazy clown.
- 24:09Speaker 12: Does he have an axe or something?
- 24:10Speaker 4: He's coming out of the box.
- 24:11Speaker 3: I don't know. It's like.
- 24:14Speaker 4: It's, but it's, yeah, it's creepy and it's, here's my
- 24:17Speaker 4: thing for real world wise, like, I never understood the whole, like,
- 24:21Speaker 4: cranking the jack-in-the-box. Like, it's got a latch right on it. Yeah.
- 24:24Speaker 4: You don't have to go through all the suspense of it,
- 24:26Speaker 4: just flip the latch and it pops right down.
- 24:28Speaker 5: It's, you get, you get one, you know one thing
- 24:31Speaker 5: from it just yeah it's not like it's good it's
- 24:33Speaker 5: ever good enough to do it again like oh this
- 24:36Speaker 5: is so fun put it back down again look what
- 24:42Speaker 5: happened this time yeah comes out smoking a cigar you're
- 24:45Speaker 5: like wait what.
- 24:47Speaker 4: But yeah, just the real world version of me is like,
- 24:50Speaker 4: just flip it open. Who cares about the damn song? Yeah, seriously.
- 24:53Speaker 4: If you think something's going to kill you in there,
- 24:55Speaker 4: just find out now. Go play in that song.
- 24:56Speaker 5: But was there a movie or am I thinking, there
- 24:58Speaker 5: was like a Jack in the Box that when you
- 25:00Speaker 5: did it, it came out with a knife and cut
- 25:02Speaker 5: your throat or something like that?
- 25:03Speaker 12: There has to be probably multiple. That seems like it'd
- 25:06Speaker 12: be awesome.
- 25:07Speaker 4: I'm sure it's out there.
- 25:08Speaker 5: Of course, the person would have to hold it up
- 25:10Speaker 5: close to their face or close to their throat for
- 25:12Speaker 5: some reason.
- 25:13Speaker 4: Put that on the top. Please hold it close to
- 25:15Speaker 4: your throat. Yeah.
- 25:18Speaker 5: For best results hold up to your face and it
- 25:22Speaker 5: just pops out of the cheese grater.
- 25:26Speaker 4: Oh lord it's one of those to me it's really
- 25:29Speaker 4: for me it enters into a very specific area just
- 25:32Speaker 4: as far as horror movies in general it's kind of
- 25:35Speaker 4: like the quintessential horror movie specifically slasher movie For people
- 25:40Speaker 4: who have seen all the other slasher movies, especially at
- 25:44Speaker 4: that point, now I think it's harder to do. Now
- 25:46Speaker 4: I think it enters into a whole new... version of
- 25:50Speaker 4: that a whole new generation of kids that are like
- 25:52Speaker 4: looking at stuff from a very different point but at
- 25:55Speaker 4: that point in time it's like this really only worked
- 25:58Speaker 4: well if.
- 25:58Speaker 15: You'd been if you'd seen Slash if you'd been watching
- 26:01Speaker 15: them for the last decade you know if the last
- 26:03Speaker 15: you know good portion of your life you were watching
- 26:06Speaker 15: all these movies and then it built up all these
- 26:08Speaker 15: rules and all these ways that everything worked and then
- 26:12Speaker 15: just sort of like totally monkey wrenches the whole.
- 26:14Speaker 5: Thing so you gotta be familiar with at least the
- 26:17Speaker 5: design going into it to get anything out.
- 26:20Speaker 4: I mean, it's years before Scream came along, but it's
- 26:24Speaker 4: a self-aware horror movie. It's sort of, you know, looking
- 26:27Speaker 4: at it in a very different way, but without being...
- 26:30Speaker 4: I mean, it's cheesy in its own 80s horror movie way,
- 26:32Speaker 4: but it's not cheesy in the self-awareness of it. It's
- 26:35Speaker 4: not near as blatant and obvious as they take it
- 26:38Speaker 4: with Scream, where they're just like, it's like a horror movie.
- 26:41Speaker 4: Like this, they really are buying it the whole way along.
- 26:44Speaker 4: It's certainly cheesy in many other aspects, but not from
- 26:47Speaker 4: that angle. It actually... takes it very seriously, but it's, yeah,
- 26:51Speaker 4: the makers are making this very self-aware horror movie and
- 26:54Speaker 4: playing on the preconceived notions that you have watching it. Exactly.
- 26:59Speaker 5: And I don't think it's been done since. Like, you know,
- 27:03Speaker 5: there was that gap where April Fool's Day came out
- 27:06Speaker 5: and then Scream was the only next one that was as,
- 27:09Speaker 5: you know, self-aware playing on itself. Like any other one
- 27:11Speaker 5: was just, you get another... Sleepy camp, whatever, campfire slasher bullshit.
- 27:19Speaker 4: See, it's funny that you say that because I kind
- 27:20Speaker 4: of have a reasoning for that. And I think it's arguable,
- 27:25Speaker 4: I suppose. But I would almost venture to say that
- 27:28Speaker 4: April Fool's Day is like the jump the shark moment
- 27:31Speaker 4: of slasher movies. it kind of hit that point of, like,
- 27:34Speaker 4: we had the buildup of all the big, you know,
- 27:37Speaker 4: you had the burning, and you had the Friday the 13th,
- 27:40Speaker 4: and you have, you know, Michael Myers at this point.
- 27:42Speaker 4: So you go through all the basics, you build up
- 27:44Speaker 4: all the rules, and you get to the point where there's,
- 27:46Speaker 4: the market is kind of saturated with them at that point.
- 27:49Speaker 4: And then you get to this one where.
- 27:50Speaker 5: It's just like, oh, just go for whatever.
- 27:53Speaker 4: Well, you sucker in all these people, and they're like,
- 27:56Speaker 4: all right, one more horror movie. Come on, let's go.
- 27:58Speaker 4: And then they get there, and they're like, what the fuck?
- 27:59Speaker 4: This is not, like, I think it really did kind of, like...
- 28:03Speaker 4: Just twist the knob. And they were just like, all right,
- 28:05Speaker 4: let's do something else now.
- 28:06Speaker 5: Well, I think it definitely was, like we said, the
- 28:09Speaker 5: perfect time for that to come out because, you know, yeah,
- 28:12Speaker 5: going into it, we're going to watch it because, you know,
- 28:14Speaker 5: I like slasher movies.
- 28:15Speaker 12: I'm a sucker for them. But I know what's going
- 28:17Speaker 12: to happen.
- 28:18Speaker 5: And totally you get something different out of it because,
- 28:21Speaker 5: you know, yeah, you're just kind of.
- 28:23Speaker 4: Played with a little bit. I think so, but I
- 28:25Speaker 4: can see how it probably, like, would piss people off
- 28:27Speaker 4: at the time.
- 28:28Speaker 12: Well, that too, probably.
- 28:29Speaker 1: It pissed me off right now.
- 28:30Speaker 4: Yeah, I know. But for different reasons, I think. It
- 28:33Speaker 4: transcends time. But I think it, yeah, it's one of
- 28:36Speaker 4: those that I think you, because you do go in
- 28:38Speaker 4: expecting one thing, and it sort of pulls the rug
- 28:40Speaker 4: out from under you, and you're like, well, what the hell?
- 28:43Speaker 4: But I think it almost, like, in a grander sense, like,
- 28:45Speaker 4: it may not have specifically been this one movie, but
- 28:48Speaker 4: it was that time period, because... Were there any big
- 28:51Speaker 4: slasher movies after 1986? There were a lot more sequels
- 28:55Speaker 4: that were kind of crap and going downhill. There were
- 28:57Speaker 4: no new ones. Yeah, I mean, there might have been
- 29:00Speaker 4: one or two random smaller ones that weren't successful, but
- 29:02Speaker 4: I cannot think of any other big ones that came
- 29:05Speaker 4: after this. This was kind of like the turning point
- 29:08Speaker 4: in slasher movies to where it just dropped off. And
- 29:12Speaker 4: there weren't any until Scream came back around and sort
- 29:14Speaker 4: of revitalized the whole market again and changed the way
- 29:19Speaker 4: that they did slasher movies again you know it sort
- 29:22Speaker 4: of reformed them but yeah I don't know I think
- 29:25Speaker 4: it's just so influential in that way that you know
- 29:28Speaker 4: and again I can see there's a lot of people
- 29:30Speaker 4: I've heard that don't like this one and maybe for
- 29:32Speaker 4: that very reason outside of.
- 29:34Speaker 1: Misty hated it fuckers but i don't.
- 29:40Speaker 4: Know i mean the late 70s to mid 80s was
- 29:42Speaker 4: like this like amazing period for horror movies it's like
- 29:46Speaker 4: it's something you can't go back to even now it's
- 29:48Speaker 4: like they try to recreate them and they try to
- 29:50Speaker 4: even get the mood of like those 70s and 80s
- 29:53Speaker 4: horror movies and they get close but it's like it's
- 29:55Speaker 4: just a period you'll never have again you can't make
- 29:59Speaker 4: movies like that again the world isn't the same as those,
- 30:02Speaker 4: you know, the time period we were dealing with. And
- 30:05Speaker 4: then the audiences are totally different. So it's like, it's,
- 30:07Speaker 4: it's kind of the little self-contained universe of horror movies
- 30:11Speaker 4: that these were the rules and this is how it operated.
- 30:14Speaker 4: And like, this was the, the cap on it. This
- 30:16Speaker 4: was like, okay, and now we're going to, we're going
- 30:18Speaker 4: to fuck it all up and tell you, this is
- 30:20Speaker 4: all bullshit. Yeah. And I think that was kind of
- 30:22Speaker 4: the breaking point. All those people were like, well, you
- 30:24Speaker 4: know what? It's bullshit. Why are we going to these movies?
- 30:26Speaker 4: And they started going to like romantic comedies, you know,
- 30:29Speaker 4: it's like it, It turned the whole audience almost. Again,
- 30:33Speaker 4: not maybe necessarily this movie, but just that point in general.
- 30:36Speaker 4: I think audiences had hit that era where they were like,
- 30:39Speaker 4: you know what? They were done. We're done with these
- 30:40Speaker 4: slasher movies. We're going to do something else now. Well,
- 30:42Speaker 4: that was the time of romantic comedy. It might have
- 30:45Speaker 4: bred one to the other. Look, we're going to dates.
- 30:48Speaker 4: That's a natural step. Yeah, because it used to be
- 30:50Speaker 4: the date movie was a horror movie, and then the
- 30:52Speaker 4: romantic comedy came along.
- 30:54Speaker 1: Ah, fuck the romantic comedy.
- 30:55Speaker 4: I feel that. God, they suck. That's it.
- 30:58Speaker 12: Hugh Grant made his debut.
- 31:01Speaker 4: Well, they left this, and they went to see When
- 31:03Speaker 4: Harry Met Sally, and the world was a much safer
- 31:07Speaker 4: place for everyone.
- 31:08Speaker 13: Changed forever.
- 31:08Speaker 12: I mean, it was a good, like, you know, what
- 31:12Speaker 12: I always like to say, it was a good time.
- 31:13Speaker 5: Definitely, I think it was a good time, but I
- 31:15Speaker 5: only say that because I was there when it came
- 31:18Speaker 5: out originally.
- 31:19Speaker 4: So, you know. Yeah, I mean.
- 31:22Speaker 12: I can understand your hatred, Missy.
- 31:24Speaker 7: I mean, definitely.
- 31:24Speaker 4: Definitely. In a way, but in another, it's weird because
- 31:29Speaker 4: it's still a conventional slasher movie. To me, it almost
- 31:32Speaker 4: works as a slasher movie all the way up for
- 31:34Speaker 4: 75% of it until it hits that point. I don't know.
- 31:41Speaker 1: Didn't like it.
- 31:44Speaker 8: What I like about slasher movies is that there's at
- 31:47Speaker 8: least a little bit of tension, a little bit of build-up.
- 31:51Speaker 8: You get that kind of fear and you're like, something's
- 31:53Speaker 8: going to happen, what's going to happen? This one, I'm
- 31:55Speaker 8: just like, there was no real, like, oh, look, something happened.
- 31:59Speaker 1: There it is.
- 31:59Speaker 4: Well, they don't, and even that one, that was like a...
- 32:04Speaker 4: Sort of an oversight... On their part... Because they... A
- 32:06Speaker 4: few of them... They... Like the first couple... They do
- 32:08Speaker 4: a pretty good set up of.
- 32:09Speaker 3: Oh.
- 32:09Speaker 4: And they get grabbed... And then it disappears... And you
- 32:11Speaker 4: don't really see... What happens to them... But that third chick...
- 32:14Speaker 4: That random girl... That's just outside crying... And then she just...
- 32:17Speaker 4: Turns up in a well... And I had the same reaction...
- 32:19Speaker 4: I was like... Wait.
- 32:20Speaker 1: Who is that?
- 32:21Speaker 4: Yeah... Who the fuck.
- 32:22Speaker 12: And you guys both said that.
- 32:23Speaker 4: You were like... Who is that chick?
- 32:25Speaker 3: And.
- 32:25Speaker 4: So I mean... They really... And as it goes on later...
- 32:28Speaker 4: It's like... They kind of continue on... But it's almost
- 32:29Speaker 4: past that point... It's like... They almost needed to have...
- 32:32Speaker 4: A little more tension... Going into each one and give you,
- 32:35Speaker 4: maybe even give you like a fake, you know, blood kill.
- 32:38Speaker 4: And so, you know, do the fake knife or something.
- 32:41Speaker 4: So we see it. But then like a second later,
- 32:43Speaker 4: the person realizes, oh, okay, you know, it's fake. I'm just,
- 32:47Speaker 4: you know, kind of getting roped into this.
- 32:48Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 32:49Speaker 4: But still kind of cut it right before that so
- 32:51Speaker 4: that you're still stringing the audience along. You've still got,
- 32:54Speaker 4: you know, the blood. Cause that's the other thing. There's
- 32:55Speaker 4: really not a whole lot of gore as it happens
- 32:58Speaker 4: at all. And they said, yeah. And they said it's,
- 33:02Speaker 4: it actually, because of that ended up getting a lot
- 33:04Speaker 4: of play on TV because they didn't, which to me,
- 33:06Speaker 4: there's a lot of weird perverse stuff going on outside
- 33:09Speaker 4: of the blood. Like there's still tons of sex and like,
- 33:11Speaker 4: In your window.
- 33:14Speaker 1: In your window.
- 33:16Speaker 4: Oh, nice. Once again, what they said was not in
- 33:19Speaker 4: your window. Let's hide the sausage. It's not really. That's
- 33:23Speaker 4: pretty blatant. Who says that? Biff.
- 33:26Speaker 12: Biff says that. Biff wants that.
- 33:28Speaker 4: Yes, he does. I believe he does. So, yeah, I
- 33:31Speaker 4: don't know. I can see it definitely could have done
- 33:34Speaker 4: a little more with building the tension along the way,
- 33:36Speaker 4: but I think structure-wise it's still set up pretty good.
- 33:39Speaker 4: I think the whole... As you get in there, again,
- 33:42Speaker 4: you don't like these characters, but to me, that's pretty standard.
- 33:45Speaker 4: It would almost be like a tip-off if you had
- 33:47Speaker 4: real characters. Since they're sort of duping you the whole
- 33:50Speaker 4: way through, it's like they almost have to follow the
- 33:52Speaker 4: rules of the standard slasher movie, which is annoying kids
- 33:56Speaker 4: you want to see die.
- 33:57Speaker 5: Having sex especially if they are wealthier you know which
- 34:00Speaker 5: these kids definitely seemed from the wealthier side yeah.
- 34:03Speaker 4: They were all i mean she was going to vassar
- 34:05Speaker 4: you saw her house yeah these were not poor.
- 34:08Speaker 8: Kids and i can even deal with not liking the
- 34:10Speaker 8: characters if there was some tension or some build-up or
- 34:13Speaker 8: something or just something to hold my interest it's just
- 34:16Speaker 8: There was nothing, and I hated it. I wanted them
- 34:18Speaker 8: all to die, but it was happening in a very
- 34:21Speaker 8: lackluster way.
- 34:22Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, you didn't get to see it. If
- 34:26Speaker 4: you legitimately don't like the character, yeah, you're kind of
- 34:29Speaker 4: being robbed of what you want out of this movie.
- 34:30Speaker 4: It's like you don't get to see him get killed.
- 34:33Speaker 4: You just see a body pop up later. So I
- 34:35Speaker 4: can see from that angle it would kind of be annoying.
- 34:38Speaker 4: If all you're waiting for is to watch these kids
- 34:39Speaker 4: die and then you don't get to see it, they
- 34:41Speaker 4: keep cutting away.
- 34:42Speaker 8: My major thing was just the lack of tension. That's
- 34:43Speaker 8: what I love about slasher movies. I like the, you know,
- 34:46Speaker 8: people being chased or like the jump scares. I like,
- 34:48Speaker 8: you know, a little bit of that anxiety as to
- 34:50Speaker 8: what's happening. And that just, it wasn't there for me.
- 34:52Speaker 4: You had a cat. A cat flew at his face.
- 34:55Speaker 1: It was dark. You could barely see it. He pretty
- 34:57Speaker 1: knifed the cat. I don't know what happened.
- 34:59Speaker 4: It did look like he should have knifed the cat.
- 35:03Speaker 4: I'm not sure why he didn't knife the cat.
- 35:06Speaker 1: Don't knife the kitty.
- 35:08Speaker 4: Yes.
- 35:09Speaker 1: I didn't hate the kitty. Knife one of the other people. Repeatedly.
- 35:13Speaker 3: Oh, Lord.
- 35:15Speaker 4: So, I don't know. I think that's... For me, it
- 35:17Speaker 4: is a very influential movie. It was one of those
- 35:20Speaker 4: that sort of... It sure changed the way I looked
- 35:23Speaker 4: at movies at that point, because I was still kind
- 35:25Speaker 4: of a kid seeing it that first time on VHS,
- 35:27Speaker 4: and it was one of those you're totally strung along,
- 35:30Speaker 4: and then all of a sudden they're like, nope, here's
- 35:31Speaker 4: what really happened. But it probably is one of those
- 35:34Speaker 4: that made me a little more leery of movies going
- 35:38Speaker 4: in after that. It's like, wait, what's really going on here?
- 35:41Speaker 4: Is this another one where they're tricking me?
- 35:44Speaker 1: Shenanigans.
- 35:45Speaker 4: Years before that M. Night Shyamalan came out. The dupas
- 35:49Speaker 4: time and again.
- 35:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 35:51Speaker 4: Until the wind took his career away.
- 35:57Speaker 3: All right.
- 35:57Speaker 4: Is there anything else we have on this one? I
- 35:59Speaker 4: think that's it. Definitely, you know. Round it out with
- 36:02Speaker 4: a fuck this. Round it out with a fuck this.
- 36:05Speaker 4: Thumbs down. Oh, I still like it. I still like it.
- 36:09Speaker 4: I'm thoroughly entertained with it. As am I.
- 36:13Speaker 1: Not entertained.
- 36:15Speaker 4: But, hey, that is how we roll. To each their own.
- 36:18Speaker 4: We're all allowed our very specific and separate opinions on things.
- 36:23Speaker 4: I'm serious.
- 36:23Speaker 1: Who wants to drink the water out of that well?
- 36:25Speaker 1: That was some nasty-ass looking water in that well. Aside
- 36:28Speaker 1: from the heads.
- 36:29Speaker 4: Rolling around in it. I mean, seriously.
- 36:31Speaker 8: It was like brown and shit. Go drink the lake water.
- 36:34Speaker 8: Don't drink that well water.
- 36:35Speaker 1: It's gross.
- 36:37Speaker 4: Sorry.
- 36:37Speaker 12: Listen up, kids.
- 36:38Speaker 4: This is a public service announcement. Don't drink the water.
- 36:41Speaker 4: Don't drink the water.
- 36:43Speaker 1: Oh, it's in the water.
- 36:44Speaker 12: Oh, it's in the water.
- 36:45Speaker 4: Oh, it's in the water.
- 36:46Speaker 1: Oh, it's in the water.
- 36:48Speaker 4: Oh, wow.
- 36:49Speaker 1: Why don't we just watch that movie instead? We can
- 36:52Speaker 1: go back in time.
- 36:53Speaker 4: Have an awesome fever.
- 36:54Speaker 1: I fucking love that movie. Let's talk about that movie instead.
- 36:58Speaker 4: Okay.
- 36:59Speaker 1: I'm going to go shoot squirrels. Because they're fucking gay.
- 37:03Speaker 4: They're pretty gay. You better hit Biff while you're out there.
- 37:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 37:07Speaker 4: Dude needs a wrecking.
- 37:08Speaker 10: All right.
- 37:09Speaker 4: I think that will round out the... weekly review here,
- 37:12Speaker 4: so we'll take a break and be back with the
- 37:14Speaker 4: rest of the show. Okay, you relax. Oh, great. Three
- 37:18Speaker 4: people are dead and you are telling me to relax. Nikki,
- 37:21Speaker 4: just wait a minute, okay? Nikki, look at me. Nikki,
- 37:24Speaker 4: look at me! Okay, I know you've been through a lot.
- 37:28Speaker 4: We have all been through a lot. Am I nervous? Yes.
- 37:32Speaker 4: Am I a little bit scared? Yes. But am I
- 37:34Speaker 4: running around like a chicken with its head cut off?
- 37:37Speaker 7: Oh, nice image.
- 37:38Speaker 3: No!
- 37:40Speaker 4: I mean, You gotta just lighten up a little bit.

- 38:50Speaker 2: A girl whose extracurricular activities were more daring than most.
- 38:55Speaker 3: A girl who could turn her fantasies into reality.
- 39:00Speaker 1: One more sling won't set us back, Annie.
- 39:02Speaker 2: Then again, Pi Theta was different from other sororities.

- 39:09Speaker 3: Because in this sorority, nothing is off limits. As long
- 39:14Speaker 3: as it's fun for the girls. So when it.

- 39:21Speaker 2: They decided to make real sure that no one would
- 39:26Speaker 2: ever forget the girls.

- 40:38Speaker 10: out there all right we're back and we've got feedback
- 40:59Speaker 10: feedback yes feedback always good so this time we hear
- 41:02Speaker 10: from demise and demise.
- 41:05Speaker 12: Yay demise feedback.
- 41:09Speaker 4: All right, first up, we have her on The Wraith.
- 41:11Speaker 7: Hi, Mike.
- 41:12Speaker 6: So just calling in real quick.
- 41:13Speaker 16: I'm catching up again, and I was just listening to
- 41:15Speaker 16: the Wraith episode, and I'm really glad you guys reviewed it.
- 41:18Speaker 16: It's definitely a favorite of my childhood, and I think
- 41:20Speaker 16: the only thing I was really going to share about
- 41:21Speaker 16: it was that I was going through a time when
- 41:24Speaker 16: my daughters were younger, and I was sharing different movies
- 41:26Speaker 16: with them that I'd seen, like Ferris Bueller's Day Off
- 41:28Speaker 16: and My Science Project and some of those, and I thought.
- 41:31Speaker 6: Oh, The Wraith. Oh, we totally got to watch The Wraith. Well,
- 41:33Speaker 6: they were still a little young for that one.
- 41:35Speaker 3: I had completely.
- 41:36Speaker 6: from the level of violence and inappropriate stuff that.
- 41:39Speaker 3: Was in that one.
- 41:40Speaker 6: So that was a bit of a shocker. But anyways,
- 41:42Speaker 6: it's definitely one of my absolute favorites, and I really
- 41:46Speaker 6: enjoyed listening to your guys' take on it.
- 41:48Speaker 4: Thanks, bye. And it probably encouraged them to, like, shove
- 41:52Speaker 4: household spray nozzles up their face. Yeah, or drink. Start
- 41:57Speaker 4: huffing the oven cleaner.
- 41:58Speaker 12: Hydraulic cleaner or whatever, yeah.
- 42:00Speaker 4: Hydraulic cleaner. Yeah, it's probably not really a good thing
- 42:05Speaker 4: to show children.
- 42:05Speaker 5: Especially if your children are mental and will just try
- 42:10Speaker 5: anything they see on the idea box.
- 42:12Speaker 4: So hopefully, yeah, they do better. Hopefully they're better than that.
- 42:17Speaker 4: All right, and next up, hopefully at this point, I
- 42:20Speaker 4: guess we'll round out and maybe this will be the
- 42:22Speaker 4: last because I don't think anybody else here cares. So
- 42:25Speaker 4: maybe this will be the last of our feedback on Glee. Oh, Jesus.
- 42:29Speaker 16: Heistomize.
- 42:30Speaker 6: I totally forgot that I did that big call-in about Glee,
- 42:33Speaker 6: and all I'm going to say is after the hiatus,
- 42:36Speaker 6: I really am surprised at how little I'm enjoying the
- 42:39Speaker 6: show now. It's kind of funny, the contrast, because I
- 42:41Speaker 6: loved it in the beginning, but I actually fast-forwarded through
- 42:44Speaker 6: a couple of the songs in the last episode that
- 42:46Speaker 6: I watched, and I haven't watched another one yet. I'll
- 42:49Speaker 6: probably finish out the season. But I haven't seen a
- 42:52Speaker 6: show drop off this bad since the season finale of
- 42:55Speaker 6: Season 1, so... Anyhow, some of you aren't missing anything.
- 43:00Speaker 6: It really started out good songs, good stories, and it's
- 43:03Speaker 6: just not holding up. I guess we'll see how it
- 43:05Speaker 6: does down the road.
- 43:08Speaker 4: Take it off the air.
- 43:09Speaker 12: It sucks balls.
- 43:10Speaker 8: I actually broke down and watched a couple episodes of Glee,
- 43:13Speaker 8: and I didn't.
- 43:14Speaker 4: Care at all.
- 43:16Speaker 12: Yeah, it's just terrible.
- 43:18Speaker 1: The Glee teacher was hot. That was the extent of it.
- 43:21Speaker 4: That's bringing you.
- 43:22Speaker 1: I don't know his name.
- 43:23Speaker 12: I didn't care enough to actually watch.
- 43:25Speaker 5: My stance is it's ridiculous to have a kid in
- 43:27Speaker 5: a wheelchair be in some.
- 43:31Speaker 12: They'd be dancing.
- 43:32Speaker 4: Like, no.
- 43:33Speaker 12: Give me a friggin' break.
- 43:35Speaker 14: God.
- 43:36Speaker 4: I mean, ugh. You're just dead.
- 43:39Speaker 12: I'm done talking about it.
- 43:40Speaker 4: No, Warkley. All I have to say is they did
- 43:44Speaker 4: have this weird changeover. I've only seen a few of
- 43:47Speaker 4: them since the new season, but I think it's one
- 43:50Speaker 4: of those that the hype of it and then probably
- 43:53Speaker 4: the network influence kind of kicked in because now all
- 43:56Speaker 4: of a sudden it seems like they're way bigger productions.
- 43:59Speaker 4: They have tons more money thrown at the production to
- 44:02Speaker 4: turn it into a big stage show or a music
- 44:05Speaker 4: video or, you know, now they're bringing in all these
- 44:07Speaker 4: tie-ins with specific artists.
- 44:09Speaker 3: Oh, wow.
- 44:09Speaker 4: And it's totally, like, all of a sudden, like, the
- 44:11Speaker 4: character development is gone. Like, you really don't care about
- 44:14Speaker 4: any of the story anymore, if they even bother with story.
- 44:17Speaker 12: He's a jock, but he can sing.
- 44:19Speaker 4: It's just all about the whatever numbers they're doing that week, which,
- 44:22Speaker 4: I mean, granted, that's kind of what they built the
- 44:24Speaker 4: show on. I mean, when you put a show like
- 44:26Speaker 4: that on after American Idol, you kind of know, I mean,
- 44:28Speaker 4: you're building it on that novelty. That fan base. But...
- 44:32Speaker 4: It's still, yeah. Even what little I paid attention to it,
- 44:35Speaker 4: it did take a big turn right there when you
- 44:37Speaker 4: hit that new season. All right. We will wrap up
- 44:42Speaker 4: the glee talk. Yes, please.
- 44:43Speaker 1: I'll be glee-less from now on.
- 44:46Speaker 4: No, unfortunately.
- 44:47Speaker 11: I don't care about no wheelchair.
- 44:52Speaker 4: I got so much left to do with my life.
- 44:55Speaker 3: Don't.
- 45:03Speaker 13: Don't be shy. We'd like to hear from you. So
- 45:05Speaker 13: give us a call at 502-365-5565. Or you can email

- 45:33Speaker 4: Okay, kids, get out your Dakota pins.
- 45:34Speaker 1: Oh, my God. I'm so tired.
- 45:47Speaker 4: Oh, wow.
- 45:48Speaker 3: Oh, Lord.
- 45:49Speaker 4: It is time for the movie meltdown secret circle reveal
- 45:51Speaker 4: of the next two features. Two weeks. Two whole weeks, folks.
- 45:54Speaker 3: For you members of the secret circle.
- 45:57Speaker 1: I have a mustache.
- 46:00Speaker 4: Oh, my God. Misty's playing with her hair now.
- 46:02Speaker 12: Freaking losing it.
- 46:03Speaker 4: She's lost it. Next week's feature is going to be
- 46:07Speaker 4: an odd tie-in. I may even wait until next week
- 46:11Speaker 4: to give everybody the full tie-in, because it's so ridiculous, that's.
- 46:14Speaker 13: Why I'm going with it.
- 46:15Speaker 4: Yes. But we will be watching 1978's Terror. Yes. It
- 46:22Speaker 4: is out there on DVD. I don't know if it's
- 46:24Speaker 4: something you can get from Netflix, because the only way
- 46:27Speaker 4: I've come across it is part of those... compilation kind
- 46:31Speaker 4: of deal four for one or whatever this one's like
- 46:33Speaker 4: a 10 one it's like a oh.
- 46:34Speaker 12: 50 like horror movies it's.
- 46:36Speaker 4: Like 10 it was like great horror hits and it's
- 46:39Speaker 4: like 10 or 12 of them in one so yeah
- 46:41Speaker 4: it's cheesy um non-remastered non-redone you know no special buy
- 46:46Speaker 4: 10 for 10 bucks kind of a deal that was
- 46:48Speaker 4: five dollars it probably was five dollars so Go.
- 46:51Speaker 8: To Walmart and buy it, and then you can watch
- 46:53Speaker 8: it and comment on it.
- 46:56Speaker 4: Yep, so go get yourself a copy of Terror from 1978.
- 47:03Speaker 4: I'm going so far to get this specific tie-in, and
- 47:06Speaker 4: that's kind of why I want to do it, because
- 47:08Speaker 4: it's so ridiculous nobody else would do it. That's what
- 47:11Speaker 4: we're here for. We push the envelope of ridiculousness. For you. So,
- 47:17Speaker 4: speaking of which, let's talk about the following week. The
- 47:20Speaker 4: following week, we're going to watch another one of those
- 47:22Speaker 4: movies that I... I remember this movie. I remember it
- 47:25Speaker 4: on cable as a kid, and it was so weird.
- 47:30Speaker 4: It almost didn't process, and it didn't make sense, but
- 47:32Speaker 4: it was sort of fascinating. It sucked you in. The
- 47:35Speaker 4: visuals were kind of weird and cool at the same time,
- 47:38Speaker 4: and probably cheesy now, but... I don't know. I wanted
- 47:42Speaker 4: to go back. Again, it's another one of those I
- 47:44Speaker 4: had in my head. I'm like, man, we need to
- 47:45Speaker 4: dig that up and watch it.
- 47:47Speaker 12: I bet a lot of people will be like, ooh, yeah,
- 47:48Speaker 12: that one.
- 47:50Speaker 4: And then I ran into a copy of it on
- 47:51Speaker 4: DVD the other day for cheap. And I was like, well,
- 47:53Speaker 4: that does it. That's usually what pushes it over the
- 47:55Speaker 4: edge for us. Once I happened to run across one
- 47:58Speaker 4: of those on the mental list, I'm like, ah, shit,
- 48:00Speaker 4: now we're watching it. Yeah, we're going to watch Heart Beeps.
- 48:04Speaker 12: Heart Beeps.
- 48:05Speaker 4: Heart Beeps. About the robot family thing. Robots in love. Yeah.
- 48:09Speaker 13: Whatever that.
- 48:09Speaker 4: That baby robot they have.
- 48:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 48:12Speaker 8: Yeah, you will be misty-less that day.
- 48:14Speaker 4: Yeah, because you're afraid of Andy Kaufman.
- 48:16Speaker 8: Yes.
- 48:17Speaker 1: I am.
- 48:18Speaker 4: That's kind of what I want.
- 48:18Speaker 12: Andy Kaufman robot.
- 48:20Speaker 4: And Bernadette Peters. Yeah. She's a fine singer. Anyway. So, yeah.
- 48:27Speaker 1: Heart Beeps.
- 48:28Speaker 4: I don't know what anybody's going to think of that one.
- 48:30Speaker 1: I'm fine with that one.
- 48:31Speaker 3: Sure.
- 48:33Speaker 4: Ain't no batteries not included, that's for sure.
- 48:34Speaker 1: I don't know what I think.
- 48:36Speaker 4: That movie fucking sucks.
- 48:38Speaker 1: That movie was awesome when I was a kid, dude.
- 48:40Speaker 4: Stupid. Just had a bunch of old people on it. Exactly.
- 48:43Speaker 5: It's like Cocoon, but with robot flying saucers.
- 48:46Speaker 4: Yeah, with less story and aliens.
- 48:49Speaker 5: Yeah, it's really always a bad idea to go with
- 48:51Speaker 5: the old people card.
- 48:52Speaker 4: Yeah, I'll take Cocoon anyway. Cocoon's pretty damn entertaining for
- 48:56Speaker 4: old people.
- 48:57Speaker 1: I don't like old people.
- 48:58Speaker 4: Batteries not included.
- 48:59Speaker 3: Okay.
- 48:59Speaker 4: Oh man you would have not been happy yesterday as
- 49:01Speaker 4: i sat there watching that movie i had actually it
- 49:04Speaker 4: was okay i had i had like buffer seats on
- 49:06Speaker 4: either side which i don't normally worry about in the
- 49:08Speaker 4: regular theater but this was like one of those weird
- 49:10Speaker 4: settings with all the geeks i was like if i
- 49:12Speaker 4: can find an open area i'd probably another rather not
- 49:14Speaker 4: sit by these people yeah there's probably a stench involved
- 49:17Speaker 4: i don't know yeah so i sat down and i
- 49:18Speaker 4: had a whole little area because i just showed up
- 49:20Speaker 4: at the back and sat down and then midway into
- 49:23Speaker 4: the movie this guy comes in and sits next to
- 49:25Speaker 4: me and i realize he's a crazy old dude oh
- 49:29Speaker 4: so i'm like whatever there's plenty of old dudes at
- 49:31Speaker 4: this weekend it's no big deal once he starts talking
- 49:33Speaker 4: to you about he no he doesn't even talk to
- 49:35Speaker 4: me he just starts talking he's just like yeah Frank
- 49:39Speaker 4: is done.
- 49:40Speaker 17: Oh Jesus and he's gonna watch the screen some more
- 49:43Speaker 17: and be like oh that was good look at that
- 49:45Speaker 17: that's good oh Jesus and I think he had what
- 49:49Speaker 17: I'm assuming was his wife with him so I guess
- 49:50Speaker 17: he was saying it.
- 49:51Speaker 4: Out loud to her like I guess he does this
- 49:53Speaker 4: at home.
- 49:54Speaker 12: Watching TV or something or he could have been saying
- 49:55Speaker 12: it to you.
- 49:56Speaker 4: But he was just well he was just like naming
- 49:57Speaker 4: things that were on screen oh he was stating the
- 50:00Speaker 4: obvious he was like yeah thanks Captain Obvious Dracula I
- 50:04Speaker 4: know thanks dude Or just like, oh, that looks good.
- 50:08Speaker 4: They'd show like a makeup job. They'd be like, oh,
- 50:10Speaker 4: that looks good. I'd have freaking moved. I'd have moved.
- 50:12Speaker 4: They were running out of seats, so yeah. I'd have
- 50:15Speaker 4: been rude and got up, looked down at him, and
- 50:19Speaker 4: then moved.
- 50:19Speaker 1: And scoffed.
- 50:20Speaker 4: And scoffed. But the thing is, he's old, so he
- 50:23Speaker 4: wouldn't have heard you. He'd just be like, where'd that
- 50:25Speaker 4: dude go?
- 50:26Speaker 12: His scoffing would drown yours out.
- 50:29Speaker 4: Eventually, I don't know what his reasoning was. He wandered
- 50:32Speaker 4: off to another seat. Oh, Jesus. Further over. But without
- 50:35Speaker 4: his wife. Oh, Jesus. He kept trying to, like, wave
- 50:39Speaker 4: her over, and she was like, I don't want to
- 50:40Speaker 4: fuck you up. Yeah, she's like, fuck no. She's like,
- 50:42Speaker 4: I don't want to sit by you either. This is
- 50:43Speaker 4: my chance to lose you forever.
- 50:45Speaker 8: Yep. Wow.
- 50:46Speaker 4: Old people. Oh, man. So, with that, I guess we've
- 50:52Speaker 4: wrapped up this show. We've wrapped it up as best
- 50:54Speaker 4: we could, gift-wrapped it, packaged it. So I think it's
- 50:58Speaker 4: time to kick off the amazingly awesome closing theme to
- 51:02Speaker 4: April Fool's Day. The best part of the whole fucking movie.
- 51:06Speaker 10: It is awesome.
- 51:06Speaker 4: And it explains basically the show in a whole. Yeah,
- 51:10Speaker 4: kind of. It's very fitting of us. Otherwise, that about
- 51:13Speaker 4: does it. We will return next week. Same geek time,
- 51:15Speaker 4: same geek feed. Thanks for listening.
- 51:18Speaker 3: Later. Thank you.
- 51:20Speaker 7: Peace.
- 51:21Speaker 4: Word. Or whatever.
- 51:25Speaker 12: God, it's going to stop fucking raining.
- 51:27Speaker 4: I know. It's going to be weird.
- 51:30Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 51:30Speaker 18: Too bad you're crazy. Too bad you're loony as hell.
- 51:36Speaker 18: So long, it could have been swell together. Too bad
- 51:42Speaker 18: you're wacko.
- 51:44Speaker 11: Wacko.
- 51:44Speaker 4: How sad your marbles are gone. All gone.
- 51:47Speaker 18: We could be dancing till dawn, but you're too weird
- 51:51Speaker 18: for words.
- 51:52Speaker 3: Oh.
- 51:53Speaker 7: How did you get so strange?
- 51:55Speaker 4: You were such a beautiful kid.
- 51:57Speaker 3: Oh.
- 51:59Speaker 4: Now you are so deranged. Was it mom and daddy?
- 52:02Speaker 4: Something I did? Too bad you're no-no. Too bad. You
- 52:07Speaker 4: should be locked in a cell.
- 52:09Speaker 18: Ha, sad, you're great, but hey, what the hell, you're crazy.
- 52:16Speaker 4: You're off the deep end.
- 52:17Speaker 9: On my eyes.
- 52:18Speaker 7: Your life's a practical joke. Killed homage. I'd bail you out,
- 52:23Speaker 7: but I'm broke. Your brain's completely fried. Life's just a
- 52:28Speaker 7: party trick to you. Clown jokes and lots of booty do.
- 52:33Speaker 7: It's time to put that on the shelf.
- 52:42Speaker 1: I'm a little bit crazy myself.
- 54:09Speaker 4: And what am I supposed to do? Just throw off
- 54:12Speaker 4: my clothes and jump on top of you?
