  It's a Wednesday, and for some of us, it's payday. And that's really what's

  funny about this topic this morning. We get closer to the holidays.

  And I guess the number one topic is, have you finished your Christmas shopping?

  Are you the type of person that is constantly waiting till the last second?

  Are you a procrastinator? Are you a person that says, hmm, I'll get all my Christmas

  shopping done just in the nick of time?

  Yeah you know for me i try

  my very best especially now that i have children to get
• 1:55
  all that out of the way but it's never ever easy right we always find ourselves

  in a predicament where we're just saying ourselves hey you know what it's a

  last minute thing there's nothing we can do about it but you know i also find

  out i find that the deals kind of get better as you get closer and closer,

  to Christmas, right?

  I mean, obviously, the deal is also getting really good the day after Christmas.

  I find it in just in like, I don't know, as you get closer, like right now,

  the deals are starting to get a little bit juicier. So here's the question.

  How long do you wait? Do you wait till Christmas Eve to do that shopping?

  Do you say to yourself, all right, I can make it. I can do it.

  Cause you know, everything is closed on Christmas day, right?

  Everything is closed. So there's nothing you can do.

  The best thing you could do is buy something from a gas station at that point.

  Or maybe like a Stewart's or a little small bodega that's open.

  That's when people know you waited till the last second to buy a gift.

  So I just wanted to ask all of you one last question.

  What if you woke up and you realized that you ran out of time and you didn't

  have that opportunity to get the gift or gifts for someone.

  Does that really spoil Christmas? Does that spoil Christmas for those that didn't get a gift?

  Is it really about the gift? Is it really about trying to outdo one another?

  Or are you just trying to make sure that you do something for others because

  you know they're gonna do something for you?

  Hmm, what if we eliminated all the gifts and just made it so that by Christmas,

  you are supposed to do something good.

  No buying gifts, but you have to do something good for someone else.

  And in return, they do the same.

  Hmm, wouldn't that be interesting if we can just do that every day without having to wait for a holiday?

  Just coming together and allowing ourselves the opportunity to do what's best for one another.

  I know the one thing you can do year in, year out, every single day,

  you can pray for someone.

  It's the greatest gift ever, the gift of prayer.

  Think about that today. Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.

  Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

  Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors.

  Lead us not into temptation. Deliver us from evil.
