- 0:00Sean McAllister: It's episode 89 of Vegas Revealed.
- 0:03Dayna Roselli: The best new gaming tech on display here in Las Vegas.
- 0:07Sean McAllister: And the future of the palms is becoming a bit more clear.
- 0:10Dayna Roselli: And I get my super frico on at the Cosmopolitan will explain.
- 0:15Sean McAllister: Wow.
- 0:16Sean McAllister: Plus, a multimillion dollar attraction is set to add some swing to the strat.
- 0:21Dayna Roselli: And why Martha Stewart will become a fixture on the strip.
- 0:25Sean McAllister: Let's spin that wheel and get her going.
- 0:38Dayna Roselli: Welcome to episode 89 of Vegas Revealed.
- 0:41Dayna Roselli: Dana Roselli and Sean McAllister here.
- 0:44Dayna Roselli: It's been a beautiful weather week in Las Vegas.
- 0:47Sean McAllister: I'm telling you, you listened back a couple episodes, and we talked about how perfect the weather in Las Vegas is once we get into fall.
- 0:56Dayna Roselli: It really is.
- 0:57Sean McAllister: And it has just been picture perfect.
- 1:01Dayna Roselli: And a perfect week to welcome all these visitors in town for the Global Gaming Expo.
- 1:06Dayna Roselli: You may know it as G2E.
- 1:09Dayna Roselli: That took place this week over at the Venetian Expo.
- 1:12Dayna Roselli: And it was great to see, you know, another convention type event happening here in Las Vegas.
- 1:18Sean McAllister: Yeah, and this is uh the time of year when we see the latest and greatest in gaming technology on display, from table games to slot machines.
- 1:28Sean McAllister: There's uh like the the experience-based, uh skill-based gaming that's been big over the past few years where that kind of uh it's kind of like a video game that you bet on, and uh that's been kind of popular with a younger generation of gamblers.
- 1:47Dayna Roselli: Oh, that makes sense for sure.
- 1:48Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and I was looking online and I saw a couple videos of like these slot machine tunnels too, which there was like all video in this tunnel, and then you sit at the seat and you play.
- 1:57Dayna Roselli: I don't know exactly how it works, but some cool stuff coming out of the expo for sure.
- 2:01Sean McAllister: Yeah, there's always curved screen displays, bigger and better, just transforming the way that the the gaming floor looks at casinos, not only up and down the strip, but really all over the world.
- 2:12Sean McAllister: Uh another thing that was uh brought out at the Global Gaming Expo this year were advocates who were urging for more smoke-free casinos.
- 2:23Sean McAllister: Interesting.
- 2:24Sean McAllister: Started to see that as casinos opened up after the pandemic, but um uh park MGM notably is is one of the properties that went smoke-free.
- 2:34Sean McAllister: But there's advocates urging for more of that.
- 2:36Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and I know a lot of people wondered when Park MGM did that if a lot of other casinos would follow suit, but so far they haven't on the strip anyway.
- 2:44Sean McAllister: Yeah, yeah.
- 2:45Sean McAllister: It it is nice though to walk through park and not come out smelling like an ashtray.
- 2:51Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I know.
- 2:51Dayna Roselli: And I haven't actually been to Park in a long time, so I don't think since pre-COVID have I been there.
- 2:57Dayna Roselli: So I know you have, but you said it was a big, big difference.
- 3:00Dayna Roselli: So interesting.
- 3:00Sean McAllister: It really is, and it's nice.
- 3:02Dayna Roselli: Speaking of hotel casinos, let's talk about the palms, because that's the one hotel casino that has not reopened since it closed.
- 3:11Dayna Roselli: And it's very popular not only among tourists, but locals love the palms.
- 3:17Dayna Roselli: It's cool, it's hip, it's got great restaurants, it's got cool bars, and you know, they have great concert venues, and everyone's kind of been like, well, when is it going to reopen?
- 3:28Dayna Roselli: And I think we talked in the past that you know it is going to reopen.
- 3:33Dayna Roselli: We just don't know when, but now a big development came out um just a couple weeks ago that we forgot to mention is that they named a new general manager.
- 3:41Sean McAllister: That's right.
- 3:42Sean McAllister: Uh San Manuel Gaming is going to be taking over the Palms from uh Red Rock Resorts, which is kind of the parent company of station casinos, which are, you know, we mention a lot.
- 3:54Sean McAllister: They're the off-strip local casinos here across the Las Vegas Valley.
- 3:58Sean McAllister: Um, they had owned the Palms and done a multi-million dollar renovation of the property, but now San Manuel Gaming is going to be taking over, and they've named Cynthia Kaiser Murphy as the general manager of the property, and she has a long history here in Las Vegas, very well known and respected.
- 4:19Dayna Roselli: Very.
- 4:20Dayna Roselli: And she really had a long stint working as the president and chief operating officer of New York, New York Hotel Casino here.
- 4:28Dayna Roselli: She started way back in 2008, all the way up until 2020.
- 4:32Dayna Roselli: So she has experience.
- 4:34Dayna Roselli: We know her, we've seen her, we've worked with her on many occasions.
- 4:37Dayna Roselli: I think it's gonna be, you know, great for the Palms to have her as general manager.
- 4:40Sean McAllister: Yeah, and I think it'll be exciting to see uh what kind of changes that she, along with San Manuel Gaming, uh, bring to the property because we all know it.
- 4:50Sean McAllister: So the Palms really became a pop culture icon, thanks in part to the real world, the original Real World Las Vegas that was set at the Palms.
- 5:02Dayna Roselli: And didn't that really like even kick off reality shows to begin with?
- 5:06Dayna Roselli: Like, I feel like the real world is when reality shows started to really become popular, and they were like one of the first.
- 5:13Dayna Roselli: And yeah, that real world suite, they they worked up there at Ghost Bar, I think is their side job.
- 5:18Dayna Roselli: Remember?
- 5:19Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and I mean, gosh, the stories could go on and on.
- 5:22Dayna Roselli: Maybe we just need to do a palm story episode because you and I talk about it all the time.
- 5:27Dayna Roselli: So many interesting things have happened at the Palms involving celebrities and events, and it just it really was the place to be for visitors and locals, like I mentioned.
- 5:38Sean McAllister: And and we've been waiting for word on when the palms was going to reopen because there are so many memories attached to it, and people have been waiting to get back inside.
- 5:48Sean McAllister: Not only does it have the casino, but there's, you know, two towers of hotel rooms, there's several uh casual and fine dining restaurant spaces, there's uh uh a theater, an incredible theater.
- 6:01Sean McAllister: There's a recording studio over there.
- 6:04Sean McAllister: So it's a place that really deserves to have a lot of good attention paid to it, so that it can welcome back guests again who have been waiting to get back inside.
- 6:16Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and the good thing is through all this, they have not shut the light.
- 6:19Dayna Roselli: So, like, as far as seeing the outer because they have that huge LED sign.
- 6:22Dayna Roselli: It's huge when they did the revamp, you know.
- 6:24Dayna Roselli: I live pretty far from it in a high rise, and literally, if I sit on my patio, it's all the way across the way, but I can see when the image changes because the color changes, it's that bright.
- 6:34Sean McAllister: Yeah, and it's an LED screen that goes all the way up the side of the original Palms Tower, and it is, it's very eye-catching.
- 6:43Sean McAllister: Um, so we are waiting for a final word on when uh the Palms is going to reopen, but we do know that Cynthia Kaiser Murphy is going to be the general manager of the property.
- 6:55Sean McAllister: Can't wait for that.
- 6:56Dayna Roselli: I know, and we just put in a request to try and interview her here on the podcast, so hopefully that'll work out sometime soon.
- 7:02Sean McAllister: Let's uh talk some shows, Dana.
- 7:04Sean McAllister: And I know I feel like you're gonna pull out a hat and a giant pin to put on your jean jacket for this one.
- 7:12Dayna Roselli: It's the right stuff.
- 7:13Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 7:14Dayna Roselli: Well, New Kids on the Block, stopping back at Mandalay Bay.
- 7:17Dayna Roselli: They announced their mixtape tour for 2022.
- 7:20Dayna Roselli: They're coming here on May 29th.
- 7:23Dayna Roselli: So doing a big tour, but one of the stops will be here in Las Vegas.
- 7:27Dayna Roselli: And I was a New Kids fan growing up.
- 7:29Dayna Roselli: So some people were Backstreet Boys.
- 7:31Dayna Roselli: I like Backstreet Boys too, but New Kids was my thing.
- 7:34Dayna Roselli: And recently we went to Debbie Gibson's show and we met Joey McIntyre backstage.
- 7:39Dayna Roselli: Um, he's been doing a bunch of they've all been doing their own kind of solo thing, but they come together and I love it, and they do these New Kids on the Block tours.
- 7:46Dayna Roselli: And the great thing is, is like they know the fans want it and they have fun doing it.
- 7:51Dayna Roselli: So they just keep going, you know, they just keep doing it.
- 7:55Dayna Roselli: And this tour I went to last time it was here, and I want to say it was 2019, and it's so much fun.
- 8:02Dayna Roselli: Like, it just can't explain.
- 8:03Dayna Roselli: They just have a blast.
- 8:04Dayna Roselli: So they have they call it like uh they invite their friends, right?
- 8:08Dayna Roselli: So a lot of like legendary groups and solo artists to join them, and that's why they call it the mixtape tour.
- 8:13Dayna Roselli: So it's new kids on the block, kind of like the headline.
- 8:16Dayna Roselli: But this year they announced uh Salt and Peppa are returning back with them.
- 8:20Dayna Roselli: They were with them last time, they're fabulous.
- 8:22Dayna Roselli: And then now they've added N Vogue and Rick Astley.
- 8:26Sean McAllister: Wow.
- 8:27Dayna Roselli: Yeah, never gonna give you up.
- 8:29Sean McAllister: And Rick Astley uh was just prominently featured on an episode of Ted Lasso.
- 8:36Dayna Roselli: Oh, I know, and that was great, right?
- 8:37Dayna Roselli: And everyone, and there was so many funny, so many of the comments that everyone's always been thinking about that song.
- 8:44Dayna Roselli: You know, they call it a one-hit wonder, but Rick is still thriving and doing really well, especially overseas.
- 8:49Sean McAllister: Yeah, he is.
- 8:50Dayna Roselli: And so uh Rick's added to the tour here in America, and I think it's really cool.
- 8:54Dayna Roselli: People love him, and and I think it's gonna be fabulous.
- 8:57Dayna Roselli: So what a lineup.
- 8:58Dayna Roselli: And last time uh Debbie was on the tour with them in the mixtape tour, so we went backstage and got to see her.
- 9:05Dayna Roselli: And you know, it just like I said, the new kids, they're you know they all do, you know, Donnie's on, Blue Bloods, you know, they all have their own thing.
- 9:12Dayna Roselli: Yep, you know, and they have a blast doing it, and it was great to see.
- 9:16Dayna Roselli: They did like a big prayer circle before they went out for the show, and you just tell they're just a close bunch of performers that have stayed close through the years, they enjoy what they do, and they really bring that on stage.
- 9:28Dayna Roselli: It's great.
- 9:29Sean McAllister: And and now they're able to go out there, th they they all know themselves and know each other as a group now, and they can just go out and enjoy it.
- 9:38Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 9:38Sean McAllister: Like it they don't have to be like the manufactured boy band anymore.
- 9:41Sean McAllister: They all they know their groove, they just go out there, have fun, have a blast, and I think everybody who's on the lineup of the mixtape tour is the same way.
- 9:51Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I I think so too.
- 9:52Dayna Roselli: Why not, right?
- 9:53Dayna Roselli: That'll be fun.
- 9:54Dayna Roselli: So we look forward to seeing them May 29th at Mandalay Bay.
- 9:58Sean McAllister: And another group uh that we have gotten to know very well here in Las Vegas are Human Nature.
- 10:04Sean McAllister: They've done a Motown show for years over at the Venetian and a few other properties.
- 10:10Sean McAllister: Um, but they're coming back to town.
- 10:11Sean McAllister: And by the way, Dana, did you know that human nature started out as a boy band in Australia?
- 10:16Dayna Roselli: Well, I was just gonna say, should we call them a boy band?
- 10:18Dayna Roselli: Not really anymore, because they're boy men.
- 10:20Dayna Roselli: But you know, New Kids on the Block was a boy band.
- 10:22Dayna Roselli: We still call them that.
- 10:23Dayna Roselli: So yeah, I know they did start out as a boy band.
- 10:25Dayna Roselli: They did like a lot of touring, even with Michael Jackson at one point, didn't they say they opened for him in Australia or something?
- 10:30Sean McAllister: I think so.
- 10:31Sean McAllister: And if you look up uh human nature on YouTube, you'll see some of their some of their boy band videos, which are phenomenal.
- 10:39Sean McAllister: I love bringing that up to the guys.
- 10:40Sean McAllister: Uh but they're coming back to Las Vegas, they've been back home in Australia, but they're coming back for the holidays.
- 10:46Dayna Roselli: Yeah, they announced that they're doing shows December 17th, 18th, and 19th.
- 10:50Dayna Roselli: This time they're gonna be at the South Point Casino.
- 10:53Dayna Roselli: Tickets on sale October 12th.
- 10:55Dayna Roselli: So they're gonna do a bunch of holiday shows.
- 10:58Dayna Roselli: I'm excited for them because I know they had started doing a little bit of a tour in Australia that then obviously got put on hold once again.
- 11:04Dayna Roselli: And so it was frustrating to them, but I know it was in their best interest and the community's best interest that they they stopped doing those shows.
- 11:12Dayna Roselli: So I'm glad that they'll be able to come back here to Vegas and do some holiday shows for us.
- 11:16Sean McAllister: Yeah, and uh, we talked with human nature way back on uh one of the early episodes of Vegas Revealed in season one, um, before the whole shutdown happened, they were doing a series of shows at the Venetian to benefit the the wildfires that were happening over in Australia.
- 11:34Sean McAllister: So it's gonna be great to see those guys back stateside here.
- 11:38Sean McAllister: Again, they're gonna be here uh the 17th, 18th, 19th of December for their holiday shows.
- 11:44Dayna Roselli: All right, and so last week we talked about all the live nation shows coming to Las Vegas, and now Sean's gonna go through the list of A.E.G.
- 11:52Dayna Roselli: shows that have been added.
- 11:53Dayna Roselli: But while he gets that ready, I wanted to mention a couple notes.
- 11:56Dayna Roselli: Carlos Santana has extended his shows into 2022 at the House of Blues, so we're glad to see Carlos will be sticking around.
- 12:05Dayna Roselli: If you want to hear our interview with Carlos Santana, you can go back a few podcasts where we interviewed him one-on-one.
- 12:10Dayna Roselli: Also, Usher has added two new December dates at the Coliseum.
- 12:14Dayna Roselli: He was already doing a couple in December, he's doing New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, I think, and then now he has added two extras.
- 12:21Dayna Roselli: So go to Caesar's website and you'll find the dates there.
- 12:25Sean McAllister: And uh, Dana, the the list of entertainment, the shows that are coming here, uh it's just nonstop.
- 12:32Sean McAllister: Every day we're getting new releases and new information.
- 12:36Sean McAllister: Um, so starting, I'm just gonna go through the next month of shows.
- 12:40Sean McAllister: And these are shows from A.E.G.
- 12:43Sean McAllister: uh.
- 12:43Sean McAllister: Machine Gun Kelly is going to be at the Virgin Hotel, at the theater at Virgin Hotels.
- 12:49Sean McAllister: Uh that's October 16th.
- 12:51Sean McAllister: October 24th, Primus is going to also be at Virgin Hotel.
- 12:56Sean McAllister: Celine Dion begins her brand new residency at the Theater at Resorts World starting November 5th.
- 13:04Sean McAllister: The Rolling Stones are coming to Allegiant Stadium on November 6th.
- 13:09Sean McAllister: November 10th, Brian Adams starts a string of shows at Wynn Las Vegas.
- 13:15Sean McAllister: And November 13th, Brett Eldridge brings his tour to the theater at Virgin Hotels.
- 13:21Sean McAllister: And that's just the next month.
- 13:23Dayna Roselli: Crazy.
- 13:24Dayna Roselli: I saw A.E.G.
- 13:25Dayna Roselli: also announced that 311 is coming to the park theater.
- 13:29Dayna Roselli: And I'm super I was a huge 311 fan, still am back in college.
- 13:33Dayna Roselli: 311 and 11.
- 13:35Dayna Roselli: It was a jam, right?
- 13:36Dayna Roselli: Well, they're coming on March 11th, because it's 311 day, and all the fans worldwide celebrate them.
- 13:43Dayna Roselli: So they're doing two nights over at Park.
- 13:45Dayna Roselli: I think that's gonna be awesome.
- 13:46Dayna Roselli: So if you love 311, um AEG putting that on too over at Park MGM.
- 13:51Sean McAllister: That'll be that'll be such a fun show.
- 13:53Dayna Roselli: And our favorites are putting on a free show this weekend.
- 13:57Dayna Roselli: When the podcast comes out, it'll have passed.
- 13:59Dayna Roselli: You and I are going out of town this weekend.
- 14:00Dayna Roselli: We're so bummed because bare naked ladies are gonna be performing on Fremont Street.
- 14:04Sean McAllister: I mean, this is a band that I have seen, I don't even know how many times I've seen bare naked ladies, but growing I think they're from Canada, aren't they?
- 14:14Sean McAllister: Yes, and so they would always make the the very short trip over to Western New York, where Dana and I both grew up, and they would always play shows at Darien Lake and at the Lilac Festival Highland Bowl at Lilac Festival in Rochester, New York.
- 14:32Dayna Roselli: And small theaters too.
- 14:33Dayna Roselli: I remember I we in college drove from Fredonia, New York to Jamestown, New York to see them perform in a little theater.
- 14:39Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 14:39Dayna Roselli: In fact.
- 14:40Dayna Roselli: But yeah, when I think about Fremont Street and all those people, I'm like, oh, there's oh, I think I even saw them at Finger Lakes, too.
- 14:45Dayna Roselli: Um but I think about like all those people, and I'm like, I don't know, I'm used to being so up front and close to watch bare naked ladies.
- 14:52Dayna Roselli: I don't know if I could do Fremont Street with the masses.
- 14:54Sean McAllister: And what I always love is during if I had a million dollars, people will bring uh the packets of cheese.
- 15:02Sean McAllister: The craft macaroni.
- 15:04Sean McAllister: From when they mention the craft macaroni and cheese in the song, people rip open those packets and the cheese dust just flies through the air, and you're always sweaty.
- 15:16Sean McAllister: It's always late in the show when they play that.
- 15:19Sean McAllister: And I remember one show in particular where that cheese dust just settled on people's sweat and they just had orange like goo running down their faces.
- 15:30Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 15:31Sean McAllister: And I'm sure that's probably not good stuff to inhale, but I don't know how much of that I inhaled.
- 15:37Sean McAllister: A lot.
- 15:37Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 15:38Dayna Roselli: I mean, and you're right, they would always do it toward the end.
- 15:40Dayna Roselli: Everyone would wait for it because, you know, that way you weren't covered in cheese the whole show.
- 15:43Sean McAllister: Yeah, exactly.
- 15:45Sean McAllister: You just left.
- 15:46Sean McAllister: I know.
- 15:46Sean McAllister: Covered in cheese.
- 15:47Dayna Roselli: And we were speaking about, you know, Rick Astley and Ted Lasso the other day, and he sent out a tweet.
- 15:52Dayna Roselli: I say he, the show, Ted Lasso, sent out a tweet this week talking about bare naked ladies.
- 15:56Dayna Roselli: So I thought that was fun.
- 15:57Dayna Roselli: They said, you know, when the Facebook and Instagram thing, everything went down, um, Ted Lasso tweeted, When I'm down, I like to unplug and think about all of the cultural references in one week by Bare Naked Ladies.
- 16:07Sean McAllister: That is true.
- 16:08Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 16:08Dayna Roselli: And so I actually downloaded the I have most of their albums, but I don't know, I didn't have that particular song on my iPhone, so I just downloaded it and I was like, yeah, it's a c has they're great.
- 16:17Dayna Roselli: I love that.
- 16:18Sean McAllister: I definitely don't have them on my iPhone.
- 16:20Sean McAllister: I do have them in my uh book of CDs.
- 16:24Sean McAllister: Oh, yeah.
- 16:24Sean McAllister: But I still have you the zipper case that has all the CD sleeves inside.
- 16:28Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 16:29Dayna Roselli: Just to prove it.
- 16:31Sean McAllister: It's been oh, there it is.
- 16:36Dayna Roselli: Yep, I did that one.
- 16:38Dayna Roselli: Anyway, little plug for Bare Naked Lady.
- 16:40Sean McAllister: So, Bare Naked Ladies, we're sad we're gonna miss that concert down on Fremont Street this weekend.
- 16:44Sean McAllister: Uh Dana, at the top of the show, you said you got your super freak on at the Cosmopolitan.
- 16:50Sean McAllister: My super freak O.
- 16:51Sean McAllister: Super Freak O.
- 16:52Sean McAllister: Explain, please.
- 16:53Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 16:54Dayna Roselli: Well, there's a new, I don't know if you want to call it a supper club, but there's a new restaurant slash supper club-ish kind of vibe over at the Cosmopolitan, and it is in the place of where Rose Rabbit La used to be.
- 17:07Sean McAllister: Okay.
- 17:08Dayna Roselli: Remember, we talked about that shutdown kind of like mid-pandemic.
- 17:11Dayna Roselli: They decided to close down.
- 17:13Dayna Roselli: So Spiegelworld took it over, and now Spiegel World is the company in charge of Absinthe and Atomic Saloon and Opium the show.
- 17:23Dayna Roselli: And they're wild and crazy with really talented acts in their show.
- 17:30Dayna Roselli: One of the best shows.
- 17:31Dayna Roselli: Absinthe is always named one of the best shows.
- 17:33Dayna Roselli: It came here for a short stint, ended up staying years and years and years, and is still here in front of Caesars Palace.
- 17:38Dayna Roselli: So Super Frico is their new restaurant concept, and it's right next to where they perform opium.
- 17:44Dayna Roselli: So we walked in, and it's cool.
- 17:46Dayna Roselli: You enter this kind of like blue-lit area, and you walk in, and there's a bar area where you can see the stage for opium, and then kind of entices you to want to go to the show.
- 17:57Dayna Roselli: But then you walk into the restaurant, and what it is is basically really cool kind of like uh Italian flair kind of food and all sorts of appetizers and great cocktail menu, but then there's like little things happening around you.
- 18:12Dayna Roselli: So, and when I say little things, I mean like, you know, jugglers or a saxophone player will come out and like jump up on, you know, through this window, and then there's like little kind of skits happening around you as well.
- 18:25Dayna Roselli: There may have been like clothes that came off and uh quick change things that were happening.
- 18:33Dayna Roselli: One time there was this guy next to me and he was like, Can I borrow your chair?
- 18:37Dayna Roselli: And um they were trying to like they were being kind of annoying and disruptive.
- 18:41Dayna Roselli: They were trying to like add a chair to this table, but then I realized it was all part of the act.
- 18:45Dayna Roselli: So it kind of kicked off this.
- 18:47Dayna Roselli: So little things happen around you in very spiegel world style, let's put it that way, you know?
- 18:52Dayna Roselli: And so that's really fun, makes you laugh.
- 18:54Dayna Roselli: They've got some cool different art and and lights on the wall, and it's just a fun Vegas experience.
- 19:01Dayna Roselli: Uh, the food was really good, the pasta was great, they had a great uh calamari and salad dishes.
- 19:09Dayna Roselli: I had a couple martinis.
- 19:10Dayna Roselli: Then we went over to Opium, and that show just came back from an 18-month hiatus, and they just celebrated 1,001 shows.
- 19:19Dayna Roselli: That's what it said on the press release, because you know, Spiegel World always has to do everything different.
- 19:23Dayna Roselli: It can't be 1,000 shows, gotta be 1,001.
- 19:25Dayna Roselli: But um, they're back with a kind of a whole new concept, you kind of blast off to space, all sorts of stuff happens.
- 19:32Dayna Roselli: Raunchy stuff, funny stuff.
- 19:34Sean McAllister: Oh, I bet.
- 19:34Dayna Roselli: Yeah, they pick on the audience.
- 19:36Dayna Roselli: So if you want to go have like a fun, outlandish kind of experience, go to opium.
- 19:42Dayna Roselli: You'll get a kick out of it.
- 19:43Dayna Roselli: But again, really talented acts throughout.
- 19:46Dayna Roselli: They had this guy with making these bubbles, and he would like kind of like blow like smoke into them and stack them up and it would float away.
- 19:54Dayna Roselli: And it sounds weird, but it's like, how did you do that?
- 19:57Dayna Roselli: And then they had some acrobats in there, really good show.
- 19:59Sean McAllister: Again, uh, Super Frico and Opium are inside the cosmopolitan, kind of up uh by where the Wicked Spoon Buffet is.
- 20:08Sean McAllister: They're all kind of in the same area if you follow the signs.
- 20:12Dayna Roselli: Ballrooms, kinda, yeah.
- 20:14Sean McAllister: Uh, and speaking of Spiegel World, I recently went to see Atomic Saloon over at the Venetian.
- 20:21Sean McAllister: And let me tell you, like you said, uh Spiegel World shows are just a brand of their own.
- 20:30Sean McAllister: You have to experience it.
- 20:32Dayna Roselli: It's like an uncomfortable funny.
- 20:34Sean McAllister: It is.
- 20:34Sean McAllister: Right?
- 20:35Dayna Roselli: Like you're uncomfortable at first until the room starts to loosen up and just accept it, and then you're like, okay, I can laugh at that.
- 20:41Sean McAllister: And kind of overall, Atomic Saloon has uh kind of a wild west kind of theme running through it.
- 20:51Sean McAllister: Um like you said, there are people in in various stages of undress.
- 20:56Sean McAllister: There are uh various acts that get up and you know, whether it's dancing, whether it's acrobatics, juggling, um, there was uh a pet, uh an animal that was involved in one of the acts.
- 21:11Sean McAllister: And then there are these nuns.
- 21:15Sean McAllister: They're funny.
- 21:17Sean McAllister: And I'm not going to tell you what the nuns do because you have to go and see the show.
- 21:24Sean McAllister: But your jaw will likely be on the ground when you see these nuns performing their act.
- 21:36Sean McAllister: And it is not an act that normal nuns from the nunnery would do.
- 21:43Dayna Roselli: It's not like sister act.
- 21:44Sean McAllister: It is not.
- 21:45Sean McAllister: No.
- 21:46Dayna Roselli: A little bit, but a little bit edgier.
- 21:48Sean McAllister: I don't know where these nuns are going in their afterlife, but it's probably not up.
- 21:53Dayna Roselli: It was fun.
- 21:53Dayna Roselli: It you're right.
- 21:54Dayna Roselli: It's you know, at first I I'll admit when I went to see that show way back, I was like, uh Uh and then I'm just like, this is just funny.
- 22:03Dayna Roselli: It's just good.
- 22:04Dayna Roselli: It's yeah, full of talent.
- 22:06Dayna Roselli: Uh they they know what they're doing, they have the way that they do things, and people keep returning, which proves it's an enjoyable, fun night out.
- 22:15Sean McAllister: It is.
- 22:16Sean McAllister: Go have some drinks, go see Atomic Saloon over at the Venetian.
- 22:21Dayna Roselli: Okay, something that's also back in town is the World Series of Poker.
- 22:26Dayna Roselli: I feel like every time it ends, it's back again a few months later, but you know, the World Series of Poker.
- 22:31Sean McAllister: It's kind of like hockey season.
- 22:32Dayna Roselli: It is, you're right.
- 22:33Dayna Roselli: It's just like a little break, right?
- 22:35Dayna Roselli: But they're back at the Rio, so we're glad to see them back.
- 22:39Dayna Roselli: It's the 52nd annual World Series of Poker.
- 22:42Dayna Roselli: And, you know, it's a poker tournament series, if you don't know what it is, and people compete from all over the world, and boy, the prize is big.
- 22:51Dayna Roselli: And this is great.
- 22:51Dayna Roselli: If you're interested, you can tune in on their YouTube channel.
- 22:54Dayna Roselli: It's backslash WSOP.
- 22:56Dayna Roselli: They have live updates, chip counts, results, real-time stories, all that good stuff.
- 23:01Dayna Roselli: You can also go to WSOP.com.
- 23:04Dayna Roselli: So follow along again, 52nd annual World Series of Poker back at the Rio.
- 23:09Sean McAllister: And as always, Dana, Las Vegas is evolving and growing and adding new attractions and new restaurants.
- 23:16Sean McAllister: And one of the new restaurants we're about to see is from the one and only Martha Stewart.
- 23:21Dayna Roselli: Yeah, she's going to debut her first restaurant on the Las Vegas Strip, and it's going to be at Paris, Las Vegas.
- 23:27Dayna Roselli: Apparently, it's coming sometime in 2022.
- 23:30Dayna Roselli: So kind of exciting.
- 23:32Dayna Roselli: It seems right for Martha to have a restaurant on the strip.
- 23:35Dayna Roselli: And so finally that's going to happen.
- 23:37Dayna Roselli: And this is in addition to, we had mentioned that Lisa Vanderpump is opening her cocktail garden in in addition to the one that she has at Caesars Palace already at the Paris as well.
- 23:47Dayna Roselli: So it sounds like the Paris is really kind of gearing up for 2022, adding some new kinds of concepts over there.
- 23:56Sean McAllister: Yeah, that's right.
- 23:56Sean McAllister: And Martha Stewart's restaurant is going to take over the space where uh Martorano's used to be.
- 24:02Sean McAllister: That's an Italian restaurant.
- 24:04Sean McAllister: It was it's a huge space just off of the casino floor, kind of as you go through the the Parisian shop area of uh Paris, Las Vegas.
- 24:15Sean McAllister: Uh that space is going to be taken over uh by Martha Stewart over 5,000 square feet, so plenty of room in there for all of the Martha Stewart fans.
- 24:25Sean McAllister: And no doubt that food is gonna be delicious.
- 24:28Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I mean, she knows what she's doing, and so you're right.
- 24:31Dayna Roselli: Like it's gonna be a good restaurant, that's for sure.
- 24:33Dayna Roselli: And that's a great space.
- 24:34Dayna Roselli: I loved the old restaurant that you were talking about, Mordoranos, and I'm disappointed that it closed.
- 24:39Dayna Roselli: But I think this will be a good thing to fill that space.
- 24:43Sean McAllister: It'll bring people in, and there's a lot of foot traffic that goes by there as well.
- 24:46Sean McAllister: Uh another attraction that we're looking forward to is this multi-million dollar four-story golf attraction that's coming to the strat on the north end of the strip.
- 25:01Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's$70 million for this attraction.
- 25:04Dayna Roselli: It's called Atomic Range, and apparently it's actually gonna be on this seven-acre site next to the strat, right there on Las Vegas Boulevard.
- 25:12Dayna Roselli: So if you ever drive by there and you see that empty area, that's where it's gonna be.
- 25:17Dayna Roselli: It sounds like it's gonna be really cool.
- 25:19Dayna Roselli: It's like 92,000 square feet, and they announced that it's like you said, four stories.
- 25:26Dayna Roselli: It's gonna feature 103 hitting bays and all this cutting edge stuff.
- 25:31Dayna Roselli: So, you know, Topgolf opened years ago, and that has been popular ever since it opened.
- 25:37Dayna Roselli: It's always it's hard to get in there.
- 25:39Sean McAllister: It is.
- 25:40Sean McAllister: That's right behind uh MGM Grand.
- 25:42Sean McAllister: And every single time I've uh tried to either call or make a reservation online at Top Golf, they've been booked.
- 25:52Sean McAllister: It's been absolutely full.
- 25:54Sean McAllister: And I'm not talking about like a day of or next day reservation.
- 25:58Sean McAllister: I've tried to book out, right?
- 26:00Sean McAllister: And it is super hard to get in there, but it's a great place if you can get in there.
- 26:05Sean McAllister: So obviously, there is demand for this type of attraction, and it's nice that there's going to be a new space to accommodate that demand.
- 26:15Dayna Roselli: Definitely.
- 26:15Dayna Roselli: And it'll be, you know, a different section of the strip, so that's cool.
- 26:18Dayna Roselli: And top golf isn't right on the strip, it's actually just set back like just one or two blocks.
- 26:24Dayna Roselli: But the cool thing is, is when you're playing there, you can see the strip while you're, you know, like, you know, shooting golf balls, so it's kind of cool.
- 26:31Dayna Roselli: Um, this is also gonna be uh bringing in about 500 new jobs.
- 26:34Dayna Roselli: We love that, and it's expected to be finished by the end of 2023, so it's gonna take some time to construct this.
- 26:41Sean McAllister: But that'll be a really cool new attraction at the north end of the Las Vegas strip.
- 26:46Sean McAllister: Again, it is Atomic Range coming to the strat in 2023.
- 26:53Sean McAllister: And uh, we have a big red carpet gala coming up uh mid-October on the 16th.
- 27:00Sean McAllister: It's an annual event that brings out the biggest names in entertainment and in philanthropy.
- 27:08Dayna Roselli: Yeah, we featured this on our podcast, like you mentioned about something else that we did in season one, way back.
- 27:15Dayna Roselli: Um, we had them on to talk about this event because it is a A-list event.
- 27:20Dayna Roselli: I'm c talking the stars of the stars come to the Keep Memory Alive fundraiser.
- 27:26Dayna Roselli: It's a huge event that raises tons of money for the Lou Ruvo Center in downtown Las Vegas.
- 27:33Sean McAllister: Yeah, this is a Cleveland Clinic uh Center for Brain Health that is just world-renowned.
- 27:38Sean McAllister: We've had some amazing, some of the world's top doctors have come to Las Vegas and really done some groundbreaking research and come up with some incredible therapies to help with Alzheimer's and other uh brain diseases.
- 27:56Sean McAllister: And also they put a big emphasis on helping family members who care for people with brain diseases.
- 28:04Sean McAllister: So every year we I mean, Andrea Bocelli, Celine Dion, these are the caliber of entertainers who we've seen at this gala, and the gala always raises a ton of money for the organization.
- 28:16Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and like you mentioned, they're they're growing all the time.
- 28:19Dayna Roselli: There's such a demand that they need to expand.
- 28:22Dayna Roselli: We talked to Camille Ruvo about that on the podcast, and you know, that's why they need to raise all this money.
- 28:27Dayna Roselli: So this year's red carpet is again star-studded, and Sean, you're gonna be on the red carpet.
- 28:33Dayna Roselli: So I was looking at the list and I was like, is Sean gonna get to interview Bruno Mars?
- 28:37Dayna Roselli: So we hope so.
- 28:38Dayna Roselli: He's expected to be there in one of the big headliners.
- 28:41Sean McAllister: He is, and Bruno is just one of the huge names that uh that will be there.
- 28:47Sean McAllister: And yeah, as you mentioned, Dana, I'm gonna be there to, you know, do interviews and talk with the stars as they arrive.
- 28:54Sean McAllister: We're talking Bruno Mars, Smokey Robinson, Kenny Babyface Edmonds, uh Anthony Anderson, Tori Kelly, Kenny Loggins, Wanye Morris, and Sean Stockman from Boys to Men, uh, Charlie Wilson, Wolfgang Puck, Bobby Flay.
- 29:11Sean McAllister: I mean, this is the the kind of entertainment that is kind of showstopping.
- 29:18Sean McAllister: And all these entertainers are going to be in one place at the same time for a great cause.
- 29:23Dayna Roselli: So we look forward to talking to you about what that event is like and who uh you talk to and all that kind of thing in future podcasts.
- 29:31Dayna Roselli: Probably, let's see, not next week, but the week after we'll have that in there.
- 29:34Dayna Roselli: And this weekend, I'm going up to Seattle for the first time ever.
- 29:38Dayna Roselli: I've never been to Seattle to visit a girlfriend of mine.
- 29:41Dayna Roselli: Looking forward to that.
- 29:42Dayna Roselli: I know you're heading off to New York City.
- 29:44Dayna Roselli: We talked about that in a past episode to see a bunch of Broadway shows.
- 29:48Dayna Roselli: So we'll have a lot to talk about in upcoming podcasts.
- 29:53Sean McAllister: All right, Dana, let's do some tips.
- 29:56Sean McAllister: And let's start off the strip at Green Valley Ranch Hotel and Casino.
- 30:01Sean McAllister: Uh, this is one of the station casino properties.
- 30:04Sean McAllister: We mentioned station casinos earlier in the podcast.
- 30:07Sean McAllister: Uh, this is in the the southeast part of the Las Vegas Valley.
- 30:11Sean McAllister: It's a great resort, uh, and they're doing some great pop-up spaces for fall.
- 30:19Dayna Roselli: It's called Terrace at Sundown, and you know, people love to take their really cool fall pictures for Instagram, and this is the place to do it.
- 30:26Dayna Roselli: It's a vibrant pop-up experience.
- 30:28Dayna Roselli: It's gonna feature all sorts of fall photo moments.
- 30:31Dayna Roselli: They have a cocktail, craft cocktail menu, they have a vineyard and a sandy beach and tons of greenery and lights, and just sounds like a great experience.
- 30:41Dayna Roselli: I know they have all sorts of little snacks and different kinds of sweets, and so lots of things that we'll probably see all over Instagram.
- 30:48Dayna Roselli: But if you want to go for kind of like a fall-feeling uh cocktail out on the terrace, Green Valley Ranch is having this pop up, and it sounds spectacular.
- 30:57Dayna Roselli: I know we need to get over there.
- 30:58Dayna Roselli: It's called the Terrace at Sundown.
- 31:00Sean McAllister: And uh speaking of you know, fall-themed events and the holiday of this time of year that everybody looks forward to is Halloween.
- 31:11Sean McAllister: And uh one of the the favorite charities here in Las Vegas is Opportunity Village.
- 31:17Sean McAllister: It's an organization that does a lot to help people with intellectual disabilities, and they have uh this attraction called the Magical Forest.
- 31:26Sean McAllister: It's if you're you know looking to go, it's at Oakie Boulevard and Torrey Pines Drive.
- 31:32Sean McAllister: It's kind of on the west side of Las Vegas.
- 31:35Sean McAllister: Well, every year, this time of year, they turn the magical forest into Halloween.
- 31:43Sean McAllister: And it is a spooky magical forest that you go to, and a lot of businesses have uh made donations and they have these Halloween trees that have been decorated.
- 31:55Sean McAllister: And we stopped over there uh for a client that uh was decorating one of these trees, and we took some video, and it it's really a very spirited place to go this time of year.
- 32:08Dayna Roselli: It is, and it's great.
- 32:09Dayna Roselli: The families love it, the kids love it, so it's a great attraction for Halloween, uh for sure, and for a great cause.
- 32:16Sean McAllister: So there's food vendors out there, so you can go and make an evening of it.
- 32:20Sean McAllister: Uh that is the Opportunity Village Magical Forest celebrating Halloween through the month of October.
- 32:28Dayna Roselli: And you know what?
- 32:28Dayna Roselli: Here's a tip.
- 32:29Dayna Roselli: Just got some breaking news into our email about a new station casino's coming and basically getting approved by the Clark County Commission.
- 32:39Dayna Roselli: And gosh, this is over in an area in the southwest part of town, and it's gonna be the Durango Casino.
- 32:48Dayna Roselli: So, station casinos, we had just mentioned Green Valley Ranch, and then we mentioned Red Rock all the time.
- 32:55Dayna Roselli: And this is gonna be in addition to those, it's gonna be right at the 215 Beltway and Durango.
- 33:01Dayna Roselli: And, you know, they're known for their locals' casinos.
- 33:03Dayna Roselli: Yeah, they have people come in from all over, but the locals they really, really cater to, and they always have great properties.
- 33:12Dayna Roselli: So excited that apparently this just got approved.
- 33:16Sean McAllister: And there has been talk about this uh Durango station for years and years and years.
- 33:23Sean McAllister: There's been this plot of land, and uh Dana and I are actually just looking at the the first renderings that have been made public, and I mean this resort is going to be a spectacular addition to the west side of Las Vegas, just off the uh 215 freeway that does a big loop around the Las Vegas Valley.
- 33:44Sean McAllister: Um, it'll be a high-rise uh casino, probably the hotel portion of the casino will be a high-rise tower with the hotel rooms, and this kind of reminds me the styling of it is kind of like a uh almost a Palm Springs kind of vibe.
- 34:00Dayna Roselli: Like that.
- 34:01Dayna Roselli: Isn't it?
- 34:01Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I like that a lot.
- 34:03Dayna Roselli: That is cool.
- 34:04Dayna Roselli: I'm gonna read off some of the stats.
- 34:05Dayna Roselli: 83,000 square feet of casino space, blending indoor and outdoor socializing spaces, so that's cool.
- 34:12Dayna Roselli: Also, the hotel tower is gonna have 200 plus beautiful guest rooms and suites, four signature food and beverage outlets, they're gonna have a food hall, state-of-the-art race and sports book.
- 34:24Dayna Roselli: So you name it.
- 34:25Dayna Roselli: They've got a resort pool planned, private cabanas, an event lawn, 20,000 square feet of meeting and convention space, and 40 electric vehicle charging stations.
- 34:34Sean McAllister: Wow, and this is gonna be right pretty much adjacent to the big uncommons project that is going in on the west side of Las Vegas, also, which is a mixed use.
- 34:48Sean McAllister: Uh it's gonna be retail, office space, residential living.
- 34:52Sean McAllister: So having that adjacent to a brand new casino property is going to make it's really going to add such a variety of entertainment options to the west side of town.
- 35:08Dayna Roselli: Really looking forward to this one.
- 35:10Dayna Roselli: The project expected to break ground in the first quarter of 2022.
- 35:14Dayna Roselli: Okay, so lots of tips today and some breaking news.
- 35:17Dayna Roselli: How about that for episode 89?
- 35:19Dayna Roselli: Uh, quick shout out to Matt Goss, who's been on our podcast before.
- 35:24Dayna Roselli: We also produce a podcast for him.
- 35:25Dayna Roselli: He's a dear, dear friend of mine.
- 35:27Dayna Roselli: He's been in the UK.
- 35:29Dayna Roselli: He also had a show here at Caesars Palace in the Mirage for over 10 years.
- 35:32Dayna Roselli: He's in the UK right now doing some promotion for his new album, but he's been releasing uh singles, and his new single is out called Better With You, available on Apple and Spotify October 8th.
- 35:44Dayna Roselli: And I just want to say, you and I got a preview of the album.
- 35:47Dayna Roselli: The album's spectacular, but this is literally like my favorite song, so I'm really excited for this one.
- 35:53Dayna Roselli: It's uplifting, it's fun.
- 35:55Dayna Roselli: If you get a chance, anyone, please stream the song, uh, download it.
- 35:59Dayna Roselli: It's Better With You by Matt Goss, and it's his second single that he just released within the last couple months.
- 36:05Sean McAllister: I mean, it's just got such a great vibe.
- 36:08Sean McAllister: It's a happy song.
- 36:09Sean McAllister: It I uh especially right now when, you know, finally we're able to get out and have connection with people who we've not seen in the last year and a half because of global circumstances.
- 36:24Sean McAllister: Uh, this song is just perfect for the times that we're in.
- 36:27Sean McAllister: Congratulations to Matt on the new single.
- 36:29Dayna Roselli: Yeah, Better With You, it's called.
- 36:31Dayna Roselli: So if you get a chance, please listen to it.
- 36:33Dayna Roselli: It's a good one.
- 36:35Sean McAllister: And a reminder uh fall is a great time of year to enhance your wardrobe and get some cozy things.
- 36:41Sean McAllister: If you go to uh the link to our Vegas Revealed merchandise store down in our show notes, uh we have hoodies, we have crew neck sweatshirts, we have long sleeve t-shirts, we have hats, we have I'm sure there's gloves in there too.
- 36:57Sean McAllister: Anything you need to keep warm and cozy for fall?
- 37:00Sean McAllister: Coffee cups.
- 37:01Sean McAllister: Coffee cups, yes, you can put any variety of beverages in those.
- 37:04Sean McAllister: Uh just click the link down there, go to our merch store, and you'll find some great deals.
- 37:09Sean McAllister: I believe they're we're running a sale right now, too.
- 37:12Dayna Roselli: Great stuff, Sean.
- 37:13Dayna Roselli: You wore your hood hoodie the other day.
- 37:14Dayna Roselli: We had a morning shoot and it was a chilly 75 degrees, and it was perfect.
- 37:19Sean McAllister: Well, and I'll tell you, the hoodies come in varying degrees of of weight.
- 37:24Sean McAllister: So you can get a really thick hoodie if you live in a part of uh the country or the world where it gets really cold, or if you're here in Las Vegas and you just need something for when the the evenings cool down a little bit, there's really lightweight ones.
- 37:37Sean McAllister: And uh how about this for a tip?
- 37:40Sean McAllister: Order a size or two up when you're buying, because they do tend to run a little bit small.
- 37:46Sean McAllister: So order up so that you have lots of room to be cozy.
- 37:50Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 37:51Dayna Roselli: For example, I usually take a small, but I ordered a large, and it's roomy, you know.
- 37:56Dayna Roselli: So if like you wanted to put a shirt underneath it or anything like that, and it's comfortable and cozy.
- 38:01Dayna Roselli: So um, before we go, one last thing.
- 38:04Dayna Roselli: You and I are going to the Circus Circus steakhouse tonight.
- 38:06Dayna Roselli: Your mom's in town.
- 38:07Dayna Roselli: I'm excited.
- 38:08Dayna Roselli: Priscilla is here.
- 38:08Dayna Roselli: She's in the house, literally, as we were recording this podcast.
- 38:12Dayna Roselli: And you, me, your husband, Priscilla, we're all going to Circus Circus tonight to hit up the steakhouse.
- 38:18Dayna Roselli: You know I love it, and you promised uh when my birthday was back on September 13th that we would all go.
- 38:24Dayna Roselli: And so tonight's the night.
- 38:26Dayna Roselli: We'll talk about that on next week's podcast number 90.
- 38:30Sean McAllister: I I hope you've uh foregone breakfast and lunch because you're in for a big dinner, Roselli.
- 38:35Dayna Roselli: My stomach's growling.
- 38:36Dayna Roselli: It's 1.01 p.m.
- 38:37Dayna Roselli: and I've got to wait till 6 30.
- 38:39Sean McAllister: We'll be back next week with 90.
- 38:42Dayna Roselli: Woo!
- 38:43Sean McAllister: Getting up there.
- 38:44Dayna Roselli: Yeah, the gray hairs are coming in finally.
- 38:46Dayna Roselli: Have a great week, everyone.
- 38:48unknown: Let's go.
- 38:50SPEAKER_00: Let's go to bed.
- 38:54SPEAKER_00: Let's go to bed, baby.
- 38:56SPEAKER_00: Let's go to bed.
