- 0:46Welcome back to the boundary Corner podcast.
- 0:51I'm Curtis Wilson. I'm Brian seagull.
- 0:53How you doing, buddy? You got some Thursday Night
- 0:55Football. Here you are a jack down
- 0:58Thursday night. Your Colts playing.
- 1:00Yeah, we're down for right now. Phillips, trying to go for it on
- 1:05fourth down here. We'll see what happens.
- 1:09You're right, try to go for it on fourth down, looks like the
- 1:12own Richmond, not Richmond product, the VCU product, no
- 1:15Ali's getting involved in some of these.
- 1:17Yes sir, yes, sir. I took off today.
- 1:21For the Masters. Hey you hit me up a little while
- 1:25ago and said you had triple screens while you were working
- 1:28watching everything, you could Masters wise, which the I had, I
- 1:31had a man Corner pulled up. I had the featured group and
- 1:34then I had four five, six, you are doing it, man.
- 1:38You are, you are amarnath. Are, I went with broadcast on
- 1:42the TV and then watched going back and forth the my group
- 1:46thing. Did you see that boy?
- 1:49Oh, no, I haven't, I didn't Try that.
- 1:51It's awesome. Like literally you go.
- 1:53You choose the guys you want and you go into that thing and it
- 1:56just starts showing you the most recent shots, from whatever guy
- 1:59you have selected or like the leaders or some amazing job.
- 2:03Okay. Okay.
- 2:04Now there is no commentary which, you know, for some
- 2:09people. They like, it's like I don't
- 2:10want to hear by talking just want to see the golf shots.
- 2:12It's essentially a choose your own whip around, its it, and
- 2:15it's awesome. So it's pretty sweet there, man.
- 2:19And like Your codes are getting closer and closer and closer to
- 2:24the end zone. Let Me Take the Lead here, give
- 2:27it to Jonathan Taylor. I have them in a fantasy league.
- 2:29Please, please, please, although, he's weirdest case
- 2:32scenario. We could go another 3 here and I
- 2:33at least get some more fantasy points for from Rodrigo and we
- 2:38go man. Awesome.
- 2:41Well folks It's Thursday, it's time to know your enemy, which
- 2:47we do every week, win, or lose the prior week.
- 2:51We're going to still be here. I hope you guys enjoyed Saturday
- 2:55night. That was uncut.
- 2:56That was raw, that was me and Brian.
- 3:00Quite a few beers deep given are true.
- 3:03Emotions of how we feel about the program right now, and but
- 3:07right now we're going to know your enemy.
- 3:08We are going to look at the Miami Hurricanes.
- 3:12The number 19 The country rolling into Blacksburg for the
- 3:16high noon kickoff, that has been moved to ESPN due to all the SEC
- 3:21basically, becoming a petri dish for the coronavirus.
- 3:23This it has, man. Yes, it is.
- 3:26Miami six in one. The one loss is to number one
- 3:30Clemson in Death Valley, so definitely a good team.
- 3:34And the second year with Manny Diaz With The Changes he made,
- 3:37and let's just start straight up with it, Brian.
- 3:40Let's look at their offense and let's talk about the
- 3:42quarterback. Derek.
- 3:44In the Houston transfer, who is just seamlessly?
- 3:47Transition into Miami, likely, a lot of that has to do with the
- 3:52new offensive coordinator, retinol.
- 3:53Ashley in the Airaid system, you know, with especially with deer
- 4:01coming from the holgersson system, you know, last year and
- 4:05then before that Major Applewhite, he's always been
- 4:08some sort of that concept. And man, he's lighting it up 8.
- 4:131828 yards, passing 16 touchdowns for pics, leading the
- 4:18team in rushing to another mobile quarterback unfortunately
- 4:22or hundred yards in two additional touchdowns.
- 4:26They're completing 63 percent of his passes 13th in the country,
- 4:31in passing yards, 11th and passing touchdowns, he has the
- 4:35fifth most rushing yards for quarterback and Brian will just
- 4:40happened. Touchdown Jet Sweep.
- 4:44Oh God. Are you kidding again with the
- 4:52quarterback? We definitely have to be worried
- 4:53about last week now Brian. Do the numbers are they telling
- 4:58the truth about what dear King are they telling lies from the
- 5:01tape says they're telling a pretty good amount of Truth,
- 5:05man, this guy's going to be a big big handful for our defense
- 5:09this week. As you said it's an air raid
- 5:13type system but it's more it's based in that are po.
- 5:17So it's very similar to kind of what we saw UNC running to a
- 5:22point but the little bit more of the quick passing game versus
- 5:25shots down the field. Old.
- 5:27But King does a really good job of getting the ball out of his
- 5:29hands quick. But he'll take a shot against
- 5:33mismatches or off that play action.
- 5:35Really love targeting his tight ends, swing it out to the
- 5:39running backs in space and taking kind of shots up the seam
- 5:44with that. With that play action, to either
- 5:46the slaughter, the tight end. And you know, you said it with
- 5:50the rush of he can absolutely burn you with his legs as well.
- 5:54A lot of design kind of quarterbacks Weeps not as much
- 5:58up the Middle with any sort of like leads or Powers mostly on
- 6:02the edge but he's really good at the scramble drill will take off
- 6:07and really really burn things. If you're in like band coverage
- 6:11or anything like that where he has space to operate so want to
- 6:15definitely keep him in the pocket as much as possible and
- 6:19hit him as much as possible. We're going to be having our
- 6:24hands full all day man. Because Is he can really hurt a
- 6:28defense with his arm and with his legs.
- 6:32Yeah, absolutely. Obviously the Russian numbers
- 6:34are there and then when you kind of look across the board, I mean
- 6:37he spread the wealth through his receiving.
- 6:39You talk about those short passes and stuff and other ways
- 6:42that here, he's hitting his receivers.
- 6:44I mean, they have five players with over 200 yards and seven
- 6:47games, that's pretty good. That tells me there might
- 6:50there's a couple guys leading the card here, but at any point
- 6:53in time, he can choose someone in go to that person.
- 6:57Now nobody has more than four touchdowns.
- 7:00What you can. You start getting?
- 7:02Down inside the 30 and 20 can, you can't keep which the way our
- 7:08defense has been playing. Lately, makes me worry even
- 7:11more, but I will look at two guys to specifically a, you kind
- 7:14of mentioned, one of them. He loves to go to his tight end
- 7:17and that's brother. Jordan 632 45.
- 7:21One of the best tight ends in his class when he came out in
- 7:242018, and looks like he is going to return this weekend.
- 7:29Been out the previous three games, of course he comes.
- 7:32This weekend my and kind of look at some of his draft
- 7:36projections, I mean he's looking at probably being a second-round
- 7:41guy and you know one of those top seven, two five, five to
- 7:45seven tight ends in next year's draft.
- 7:48Now in only four games this season, you know, 18 receptions,
- 7:53243 yards and you know, but when you hear 63 you here to 45, you
- 7:59hear about some of the brawn stuff already.
- 8:02Chin, just, you know, offhand about what king likes to do.
- 8:06He's going to get into a little bit more on.
- 8:08Look at two other things Braun, here.
- 8:10I want to look at Harley only my Carly, the 5-11 185-pound wide
- 8:16out of Fort Lauderdale. Sure who of the five or season.
- 8:20Option is clearly King's favorite at this point in time.
- 8:24He's really excelled in this new system compared to last year's.
- 8:27You know, thirty five receptions for her 97 yards, receiving
- 8:32Being, he's already surpassed his totals he's yards total for
- 8:35last year, for touchdowns averaging 41 14.2 per reception.
- 8:42So clearly probably taking some shots, probably some of those
- 8:45wide receiver stings. You talked about now.
- 8:48Brian, there is one piece that I've got to tell you about the,
- 8:53which I don't think she kind of shocked anybody, but in case,
- 8:56you didn't know, they're still one of the worst teams in the
- 9:00country at protecting the quarterback.
- 9:03Giving up almost three sacks of game, which you feel like that
- 9:06hasn't changed last year. Although, to me, I feel like
- 9:08they were given up more last year, but they weren't they
- 9:12were. Yeah, that's neither here nor
- 9:14there. So, Brian.
- 9:15How do you think the Airaid concept or not only the, not
- 9:19only helping the receiving core out but also helping the
- 9:23offensive line out. So yeah I'll start with Brevin
- 9:26Jordan. How the system is really led to
- 9:29him? Flourish you go with that.
- 9:32Type of athleticism and that size getting him out in the flat
- 9:37and getting him up. The seam, you're really gives
- 9:40him room to operate and take advantage of mismatches in the
- 9:44in the secondary there. He's a big-time Red Zone threat
- 9:48and honestly an underrated blocker.
- 9:50He does some good things for them in the Run game as well.
- 9:53So he's a guy that we're going to need to account for every
- 9:57play. But as you said the guy that
- 10:00they really like to hit from a wide receiver, Our perspective
- 10:02is Mike, Harley you plays primarily in the slot and that's
- 10:06the guy that King really targets when he needs to move, the
- 10:10sticks is the tight ends and the slot receiver.
- 10:12My Carly, he'll take kind of swings screens.
- 10:17I saw him take a slant against NC State to the house.
- 10:22So he's a guy that can take some of those short routes and make
- 10:24big plays out of them has really good Vision.
- 10:30Once he has the ball in his hands, And you can outrun most
- 10:33anybody on the field as well. So we're gonna have to account
- 10:37for him every down as well and you talked about the offensive
- 10:41line, man, they're not a great offensive line, they're probably
- 10:44just above average and run blocking even though the middle
- 10:47of that line is a little suspect but they're still pretty bad,
- 10:52been passed Pro. But with the RPO concepts with
- 10:57the Zone reads, with the play action with the ball, Getting
- 11:02out of Kings hands a lot faster, they're not giving up the sacks.
- 11:07They were last year because the balls out of Kings hand and just
- 11:11his athleticism, if they don't have a great play, they don't
- 11:15block it well. But all of a sudden came can
- 11:17make something out of nothing and turn it into a positive gain
- 11:20there. So, you know, that unit has had
- 11:23a lot taken off of their plate just by the insertion of dear
- 11:27King into this lineup. Brian did you have like memories
- 11:32of some of the tie rod beer and Marcus Vick years when the lines
- 11:37weren't? So, great at Virginia Tech.
- 11:38Whether those guys couldn't make, you know, make just
- 11:44everything out of absolutely garbage.
- 11:47Oh, yeah, absolutely, absolutely.
- 11:48You look at it, it's like, well, it's like Well, Kings, goodnight
- 11:52up and all of a sudden, he kind of gets outside and it's a, you
- 11:55know, a ten yard gain on. What should have been an 8-yard
- 11:58sack? I mean, We see that a lot with
- 12:00this team, it's going to be something that we're going to
- 12:03need to focus on. Like I said, I want to keep him
- 12:08in the pocket working that leverage and make sure that if
- 12:12he's stepping up, he's stepping up into the heart of the defense
- 12:15and not getting to the age where he can hurt us.
- 12:18Real bad. Other names to know what the
- 12:21wide receivers. Mark Pope D Wiggins and will
- 12:24Mallory all three over two hundred yards.
- 12:28All three averaging over 12. George perception.
- 12:30So again, they got numerous weapons.
- 12:34So the two days we really focused on if you hear the other
- 12:37names being called, don't be shocked this week.
- 12:41Now, for on. Well we saved essentially the
- 12:44worst for last. Well, the worst when it concerns
- 12:48how our defense has been looking for the past few weeks.
- 12:54You know, we're going to look at the running backs, you know, we
- 12:57know King running the ball and this might be an are a type
- 13:00system. But this is again one of my de
- 13:02Faria, Dairy type system for the running backs are going to get
- 13:05the ball. Some they're going to get their
- 13:07voices and really there's two guys who have significantly
- 13:12stood out. The first is Cameron Harris, the
- 13:15510 210-pound running back out of Miami.
- 13:20So a HomeTown kid down there, he's a truly, your more
- 13:23traditional style running back getting 396 yards about 4.9 of
- 13:27Kerry also. Additional 87, receiving yards
- 13:31with six total touchdowns and the other guy will look at to me
- 13:36this is as a true freshman and it makes sense after they
- 13:39actually came in last year. He is the more are a type of
- 13:43running back Jaylyn. Nitin 510 195 pounds.
- 13:48He was literally one of the top all-purpose backs coming out of
- 13:51last year's class. We say, we want to say, we make
- 13:54fun of how they recruit. They still can get talented guys
- 13:58in night and definitely One of them 171 yards on the ground
- 14:03hundred thirty-five. Receiving yards also does some
- 14:06kickoff returns gotta like athene seven or five or seven
- 14:09returns has gotten 100 yards in that along with two touchdowns
- 14:14Braun after last week. And then after the way it game,
- 14:19and you know, after part to Louisville game, we know the
- 14:24problems we have on the Rushdie. What does this team do that?
- 14:29Could expose it even more with King in these two guys.
- 14:33Well, what scares me is kind of the same thing that scared me
- 14:37against Louisville and they really didn't take advantage of
- 14:39it against us. But, you know, having running
- 14:42backs in a quarterback that can Rush against you at an elite
- 14:46level. In this case, Harris is more of
- 14:50the kind of stick moving one, cut tight back.
- 14:54He's also really good blocker, so you'll see him.
- 14:57Leading out for for King on some of those design quarterback
- 15:01sweeps, things like that. So he's the guy that's going to
- 15:05be probably getting the most snaps the most reps there on the
- 15:10offense. But you'll see Jalen night and
- 15:13work in quite a bit. He is much better on the edge in
- 15:18terms of The Rush game. They also use him as a receiving
- 15:23thread as you were noting. They're very much a duel Threat
- 15:27type running back there and he has really good speed and breaks
- 15:31tackles. So that's why he's kind of a
- 15:32threat on the Special Teams as well.
- 15:34So we got to keep an eye out for him and the other guy that will
- 15:38mix in there. Occasionally, is Don Chaney jr.
- 15:43He's kind of a little bit of a mix of both of those guys.
- 15:46Got some, someone cut can break some good tackles, but they have
- 15:50used them in the run in the passing game as well.
- 15:52So keep an eye out for him. He's kind of the third down.
- 15:56Almost like a spell type guy that can really come in there
- 16:00and take carries that would either go to Harris or night,
- 16:03and just because he's a little bit more versatile.
- 16:07Nice, one. One thing I do want, everybody
- 16:11knows this team's only had eight turnovers in 27 games so they
- 16:14don't hammers the ball a lot. They do for a pretty.
- 16:17Well three of those came against Clemson going.
- 16:20The other six game, they're averaging less than 1 turnover,
- 16:23per game. Solid conversion.
- 16:26A third down. Rated 43.9 worries me.
- 16:29Since Iris has significantly just keeps going upward 41.2 and
- 16:33stopping the rush. That's only 68 best in the
- 16:36country. So on the bottom side below
- 16:38average, in another thing I noticed and it goes back.
- 16:43When I hear you talk about the short passes, the quick
- 16:46scrambles, they are getting a ton of first downs a game.
- 16:50They are the 19. Essentially best team in the
- 16:53country. It getting first downs per game.
- 16:55So, you know, you talk about, they can hit the home runs but
- 17:00they're not afraid to get in the car.
- 17:01Take a Sunday drive on you and say, okay, you want 12 plays.
- 17:04Let's do it. We can do it this way.
- 17:07So Bryan, we sit here and I made the joke earlier as we were
- 17:12getting all this stuff coming up.
- 17:15I was like, Brian. Have you really went to the
- 17:18depths of the despair that you're you don't even want to
- 17:20ride in the house? I want to get the ball out of
- 17:40Kings hands as much as possible. I want when we're talking about
- 17:46playing on defensive line, if they're in that zone reading
- 17:51that RPO. I want to attack the mesh and
- 17:57make the quarterback either get rid of the ball fast or give it
- 18:01to the running back. I don't want the ball in Kings
- 18:05hands for very long because the longer It's in his hands.
- 18:09The worst things happen. I think it happened to the
- 18:13defense, getting the ball in his hands like with they squeezing
- 18:17that mesh point in the RPO. And in the zone read it's going
- 18:21to create more predictable outcomes in the running game.
- 18:25If we know, we can force the ball into the running backs
- 18:29hands. That means if our linebackers
- 18:32are where they need to be, if our defensive tackles are
- 18:34holding their ground, then we should be there to make the
- 18:37play. So I'm trying to create
- 18:40predictable more predictable outcomes here so that's what
- 18:43that would do. I'd have some Defender.
- 18:46Probably Chase Jordan, pretty much wherever he goes.
- 18:52He's going to be a guy that they're going to try to get the
- 18:54ball out too quick and he's also going to be able to attack up
- 18:57the seam. I'd like to take away those type
- 19:00of plays as much as possible because that's going to be those
- 19:02little stick movers that end up kind of frustrating and tiring
- 19:06out the defense I knew this kind of goes some with what I've
- 19:11already talked about, but we need to set the edge.
- 19:16Motherfucker, please, please. Don't give up outside leverage
- 19:24to this team, because they will eat your lunch all day and the
- 19:28game starts at 12, so there's going to be lunch available.
- 19:36And last man, if you can do those things you still need to
- 19:39tackle, tackle tackle. If we will not been doing a lot
- 19:44of no we haven't. But that includes Jordan, that
- 19:48includes night and that includes Harris that includes Harley in
- 19:52those passing game, includes King out on the edge or when he
- 19:57scrambles out of the pocket, there's going to be a lot of
- 20:01opportunities for us to make plays, but we have to make them
- 20:04in order to make a play. Defense, you have to tackle.
- 20:08That's a prerequisite. It's the truth man.
- 20:12In the last few weeks, it's been a struggle for us.
- 20:15So, you know, hope that something is clicking, you know,
- 20:21as Dax hollifield said at the podium, that feels like they
- 20:24were getting closer and closer, and it's about to click
- 20:27something needs to click, you know, if Something's Gotta click
- 20:30because the defense is had a pretty I'd say, I'm not going to
- 20:37say a bad run, but the last four games, haven't been great.
- 20:41No. And two of them have been pretty
- 20:45bad about as, and I honestly Liberty was about as bad as they
- 20:49can get. It's very true, very true.
- 20:53So let's hope something clicks there and maybe it's the last
- 20:56week was the darkness before the dawn.
- 20:59Now, Brian, let's flip to the other side because, you know,
- 21:04the strength of our team Right now is the offense and let's
- 21:06take a look at Miami. Yeah, let's total Total Defense
- 21:10wise given up 393 game. Good for 50 s.
- 21:15So about middle-of-the-road, not great, not awful.
- 21:19I'm giving up 148 on the ground, which is fifty third in the
- 21:22nation 245 passing, which is 75th.
- 21:25So, you know, of their defense, obviously, the running game is
- 21:31showing us the strength, but a couple of their games, they've
- 21:34gotten the head and teams have been Forced to pass though.
- 21:36Sometimes those skew the results but either way you look at it
- 21:39you kind of feel this is strength on strength for us,
- 21:43middle of the road cycling, the quarterbacks little lunch less
- 21:46than two and a half in game you know, 47th in the country.
- 21:50They have forced him to turn overs so definitely you know,
- 21:55five of each. So NADA not picking the ball
- 21:59off. Not punching the ball out but
- 22:01just kind of steady and believe it or not.
- 22:03It's one of those things where For what this offense does, they
- 22:10didn't need a super dominant defense.
- 22:11They just needed a defense is doing what they're doing, which
- 22:14is playing very steady, you know, not doing anything
- 22:17spectacular. So with the so why is it with a
- 22:22lot of talent? They're just kind of there, not
- 22:25blah, they're not. Hey there more, okay?
- 22:33I mean, to me some of it has to do with the fact that when
- 22:35you've got a fast-paced offense, a lot of times other teams kind
- 22:40of match that Tempo, and that can put your defense On their
- 22:45own, they're on their heels a little bit.
- 22:49So sometimes you see that with, with, with offenses, that kind
- 22:53of play that more up-tempo game but we for look at this defense
- 22:57let's get into some of the minutiae of what they do and how
- 23:00they do it. So they're kind of a multiple
- 23:03front defense. They usually have a base to 45
- 23:06nickel type defense. They're very similar To UNC in
- 23:14terms of alignment, but they deploy their positions a lot
- 23:17differently. They've got a what they call a
- 23:22striker which is kind of similar to like our whip position kind
- 23:28of an oversized safety with good coverage skills, ability to come
- 23:34up and play the run as well. You'll see them often cover the
- 23:40tight ends and guys in the slot. Depending on the, the Personnel
- 23:44that the offense deploys, the player to watch there is Gilbert
- 23:48Frierson. He's the guy that is out there.
- 23:50The most at that position, key Entre Smith will work in there
- 23:54as well. But fear seems probably one of
- 23:57the better players on the defense just because of his
- 23:59versatility and ability to really run with guys but also
- 24:03make some plays in their running game.
- 24:07We've got the other position that we're going to talk about
- 24:09here is Viper. These are kind of your these are
- 24:13your stand-up Edge rushers. Think about what Trayvon Hill,
- 24:19did a lot last year. Think about what you've seen,
- 24:23Quincy Roche, do so far for them.
- 24:26Jalen Phillips is another guy that will work in that type of
- 24:29position, primarily Edge rushers, and guys that are going
- 24:33to feel they'll slip out in the flat, but they usually don't
- 24:36have any strong coverage responsibilities and As I've
- 24:42looked I mean they will show various front so a lot of times
- 24:46they'll have that kind of that 245 look with those.
- 24:50Those Viper type players standing up sometimes they'll
- 24:54just have one standing up. Sometimes they will have a
- 24:58single D tackle in both of them standing up.
- 25:00Sometimes they will have almost like a 3/4 looks so they they
- 25:07deploy. These guys are really
- 25:10differently. Depending on the The opponent
- 25:13and the personnel and formation that the offense comes out.
- 25:16And Yeah, Braun. You mentioned there.
- 25:20You know, obviously Roche, hokey Miss.
- 25:27I don't know if we missed bag for Roche. 31, tackles ten
- 25:34tackles for loss? He's tied for the team lead with
- 25:38Jalen Phillips at two-and-a-half another guy.
- 25:42You have not mentioned, it kind of caught my eye was Bubba.
- 25:45Bolden the six foot three. Pound USC transfer who is
- 25:52leading the team in tackles also has an interception also forced
- 25:58to bunch of fumbles. So, you know, you've kind of set
- 26:03that up. What is what is Bolton doing on
- 26:05this team and why are his numbers sticking out so much
- 26:09kind of across the board? You have a, he's kind of the
- 26:13other standout player in the secondary, you know, I kind of
- 26:16mentioned the guy that's playing.
- 26:18Striker, he's more, more of a linebacker that that can cover
- 26:24bubble boldin's. The true secondary player that
- 26:28standing out here, very instinctive player.
- 26:31He has great speed and he's not afraid to hit, he'll Dil Laya
- 26:35pop on guys in the in the running game.
- 26:38And guys going across the middle of the defense, but he also
- 26:41plays the Deep have really well really well.
- 26:44So you'll see him get some Make some plays in the secondary with
- 26:51with some tip balls, some interceptions.
- 26:54But you'll see him come up and cover the run just just as well
- 26:56as you would see a linebacker. So really really versatile
- 27:02player there. The rest of the back end though
- 27:05is kind of susceptible to be enthroned on.
- 27:07So I think we might have some opportunities there and on third
- 27:14down, they like to bring pressure they don't have great
- 27:16sack number so they're not getting home a lot with it but
- 27:20they are doing a good job of making quarterbacks throw before
- 27:23they're ready and that's created some of those turnovers we've
- 27:25talked about so they mix up their fronts a lot so we don't
- 27:30really know what level and who's coming pre-snap.
- 27:34So they do a good job with kind of disguising.
- 27:36Those blitzes. Oh yeah.
- 27:38Well, you know you mentioned bobbin essentially all the stuff
- 27:42he does. Well and I mean bone was a top
- 27:45hundred guy coming out he an elite Prospect and it's no doubt
- 27:50why you transfer from USC to Miami you know whether similar
- 27:56you know, schools are similar. So I guess in Southern
- 28:02California felt like you needed to go a lot more humidity.
- 28:10Before you get into kind of breaking down, what we need to
- 28:14do on offense. If you think Rousseau was
- 28:17playing, do you think they would be a top 15 top 20 defense?
- 28:23You know, they'd be in that ballpark, you know, right now
- 28:27probably an elite level Roche and Phillips are are doing a
- 28:32damn good job but if you throw in another, you know, almost see
- 28:37caliber player potential All-American caliber player to
- 28:41be the focal point of that. I mean the sky would be the
- 28:45limit for them getting pressure on the quarterback.
- 28:47So that that would definitely, you know, I think at least Them
- 28:53up, probably in the, the top 25 range, or maybe top 30, you
- 28:58know, they're definitely missing his presence because you after
- 29:01Roche and Phillips, there's not a whole lot of great play.
- 29:05There's some good play, but, you know, Quincy Roche at the Viper
- 29:10and Phillips playing both a traditional DNN that Viper role.
- 29:15You know, they've had some success with that.
- 29:17So, you know, not a big jump in the top end, but being able to
- 29:22rotate, Tate it, an additional elite-level, pass rusher into
- 29:26that, that mix would definitely help them out.
- 29:30Like so what are we going to do to attack and what do we need to
- 29:33do with that one? Well if there's a weakness of
- 29:36the defense it's kind of in the middle so I think we're going to
- 29:40see a lot of inside Zone. I would like to even though we
- 29:47saw too much of it last week, I would like to see us run some of
- 29:50the QB lead. And the QB powers to hopefully,
- 29:56get some gash plays up the middle there, but we need to get
- 30:00the ball out of hookers hands from time to time and let the
- 30:04running backs, make some plays. So it bothers me.
- 30:07The potentially Khalil Herbert could be out again.
- 30:10We need to find another guy that can work between the tackles
- 30:15other than Herbert. I love black sheer but I think
- 30:19we are misusing him. As just ARB to spell back there.
- 30:27We need to use him in more versatile ways.
- 30:30And so I'm thinking maybe some other guys are going to need to
- 30:34step up to be that between the tackle type running back.
- 30:39If we got situation where Herbert needs a blow or in some
- 30:42case like this where potentially Herbert's going to miss the
- 30:44game. So that's the big thing.
- 30:48I think this team is also susceptible to the screen game
- 30:51just because of how aggressive, they Play at the d-line and
- 30:54linebacker level. So that's where Blackshear can
- 30:58come into play. That's where you know Gallo or
- 31:01Mitchell if he's healthy can come into play.
- 31:03So hopefully we can see some more of the tight end and
- 31:06running back screens that will take advantage of some of their
- 31:09aggression. And honestly we're going to need
- 31:12to attack them in the passing game because they're going to
- 31:15stack the Box regardless of whether Herbert's in there or
- 31:17not. Yep.
- 31:19Because they know we're going to still try to use our offensive
- 31:22line. To assert a strong running game,
- 31:24whether the ball is going to one of the other running backs,
- 31:29like, I hope it will or whether it's going to be Hendon hooker
- 31:32running a ton of quarterback leading a ton of quarterback
- 31:36power or quarterback sweep. So yeah, I really hope that
- 31:41we're able to find another option and also keep them honest
- 31:45with the consistent and efficient passing game, So that
- 31:50we can really still run our Playbook the way, we'd like to
- 31:54be driven on something that, you know, when they said what are
- 31:59weak was guys? Like ties Gary.
- 32:02And Mark, only are they just they just aren't quite ready,
- 32:05you know what, man, we know how those practices looking.
- 32:09Oh, this guy's looking better. We've know that you failed on
- 32:12that occasion. We could quarterbacks.
- 32:16Could you be failing with running backs as well?
- 32:17Potentially. Yes.
- 32:19And so maybe you just need to give those guys the opportunity
- 32:22on the field and just broke practice down the drain.
- 32:25Because in the situation you've got to find a second running
- 32:29back. I think black shoes Okay as a
- 32:31spell back to where we're going to give him a couple clothes
- 32:34that fun they have underutilized him.
- 32:38I love Taylor Robinson to death but why Rahim has not been on
- 32:43punt returns baffles. Is crap out of me.
- 32:46Probably the one glaring thing shy.
- 32:49Best has not done good. This year is not given that were
- 32:53in the opportunity to actually return punts.
- 32:57One thing Brian I think could be key in this game potentially to
- 32:59help the Hokies is we've got to take advantage of all the
- 33:04penalties that they do. They're averaging 75 penalty
- 33:08yards a game. They are literally one of the
- 33:10worst football teams in the country.
- 33:12You think about that? Potentially you?
- 33:15Think 75 yards. You think that's an extra?
- 33:19Touchdown. In the way, we played the last
- 33:22few weeks and extra touch down in one game.
- 33:25One us an extra touch down one game lost us and actually if you
- 33:29go back even to the weight force game extra touchdown lost us the
- 33:34game. We need to take advantage of
- 33:36that run. Absolutely.
- 33:38And I mean, we saw just watching the tape man, some of it is, you
- 33:44know, procedure sites type stuff, but some of its just
- 33:46being undisciplined and getting you know, Personal fouls.
- 33:49So yeah, this is still a Miami Team, guys.
- 33:54They're still gonna have some undisciplined play and gift you
- 34:00a first down here. There honestly, some some tight
- 34:04calls in the NC State game and UVA game, probably ended up
- 34:10losing both of those teams, a potential shots and knock off
- 34:13Miami. So, Hopefully, we can take
- 34:17advantage of them where some some of those other teams failed
- 34:21to do. So, Look.
- 34:23Local can man you know what? Let's turn now to the pivotal
- 34:29players. And today it's kind of funny.
- 34:32It's going to be pivotal people. We had to go a little different
- 34:37here this week. I want to start with offense and
- 34:40it's not even a doubt. Who number one is, it's in the
- 34:43hooker this week, if hidden hooker doesn't play well, we
- 34:46have no shot in this game. Yes, especially if we got guys
- 34:50like Mitchell and Herbert potentially not being good
- 34:55enough to go, a lots going to fall on hookers, shoulders just
- 34:58as it did last week and he answered the Bell last week
- 35:04despite not getting the win, but he's going to have to do it
- 35:08again. If we're gonna have a chance to
- 35:09win this one, needs to play a turnover, free game, be
- 35:12efficient in the passing game and do everything he's been
- 35:16doing in the running. Game when his numbers called,
- 35:19it's true, it's true. The second one is the running
- 35:23back unit in whole, we've already kind of went in depth a
- 35:26couple times what that I'm sorry I want on my tangent a few
- 35:29minutes ago but that's going to happen when we're playing the
- 35:32way we're playing and Brian's already set it as well.
- 35:37It can't just be juice if juices bang there's got to be somebody
- 35:41else like the out there runs are pretty said it numerous times
- 35:46black. Cheers, not That guy to be on
- 35:48the inside. Is he an okay spell yeah right.
- 35:51What is it? You want to give you three or
- 35:53four you know 45 inside. Cool.
- 35:56He's got to be used elsewhere. I don't care if it's Jalen
- 35:58Holsten. Marco Ali ties Gary.
- 36:01Anybody else? You want a name?
- 36:05We got to go ahead and try and you had a free year.
- 36:11What the hell is it going to hurt to give one of these guys,
- 36:14a chance to go out there? Even if you don't feel, they're
- 36:16ready in practice? Yeah, I agree with you, man.
- 36:21You know, I said it a little bit, we were breaking down, you
- 36:24know, what we need to do, and I'll say it again.
- 36:26We need somebody in that running back room to step up.
- 36:29We talked about all offseason, you know, we bolster the running
- 36:33back room. We boast of the running back
- 36:34room and obviously Herbert, that's paid.
- 36:37Big dividends, you've missed used Blackshear a lot and then
- 36:40after that it's been kind of a question mark.
- 36:42Like okay, I mean we saw Holston get some some good runs Week 1.
- 36:49Against NC State and he had one or two early in the game against
- 36:57Liberty. And then once we realized that
- 37:00quarterback lead and quarterback power were working working, we
- 37:03just got lazy and just kept running that over and over and
- 37:08over. I and I get that you know, you
- 37:11can get 45 yards with that. Pretty much every time you call
- 37:17it, but at some point, you know, at what risk like, why are we
- 37:23just continually with this offensive line against a team
- 37:27like Liberty, just continually running our quarterback into the
- 37:30middle of that defense Trina? It's true.
- 37:34And the other pieces you talk about Jalen and it's the piece
- 37:38and it's why. Our number third person is our
- 37:41number third person. He had broken that 12-yard run
- 37:45to get it inside the five. And Brian, after I say that, if
- 37:53people listen last week, who's the number three, Brad core
- 37:59Nelson. Mr. Corn himself in Brahma.
- 38:03Let you go ahead and give a couple of your reasons and I'm
- 38:05going to give my reasons why he's number three on me.
- 38:07Go ahead and Lead sir. Well, I went in just now about
- 38:11let's not kill our quarterback just because it's the easy thing
- 38:14to do again. We were playing Liberty.
- 38:20We should not need an extra blocker and risk, our
- 38:23quarterbacks Health to get five yards of Pop.
- 38:28It's my opinion, y'all can disagree with me, but just
- 38:31because something working doesn't mean it's the best
- 38:33option. Number two, One of the biggest
- 38:39criticisms of always have is that he does a poor job of
- 38:43adjusting to get his offense comfortable when the initial
- 38:46game plan kind of goes out of the window and I never saw that.
- 38:55Adjustment. Again, he kind of took the easy
- 38:57route of just running hooker up the middle, the whole game
- 39:01instead of trying to get other guys, comfortable other guys
- 39:04involved. I honestly would prefer if we
- 39:08stop the the damn check with knees and just go tempo as often
- 39:12as possible because we went Tempo it clicked no matter who
- 39:18got the ball, it wasn't just about Hendon hooker.
- 39:21It was about getting the ball out whether it's in the Run game
- 39:24or the passing game, And doing what was most effective.
- 39:28So, that would be my suggestion in that.
- 39:31Hopefully is something that we see in this game.
- 39:33It's true. And, and what you said there is
- 39:36where I am at. It's the whole, the check with
- 39:39me and all that crap. I think it's got to stop.
- 39:43Go get the guys comfortable, when I don't want to see this
- 39:45week, is us being primed situations.
- 39:51To score touchdowns or to game first downs and then the
- 39:57boneheaded calls come out. If he comes out here and he
- 40:01calls You know, if he calls the whole game like he does 80% of
- 40:09the game, can we win this game yet?
- 40:11Could we win this game by more than one or two points?
- 40:14Yeah, we could but it was out there and it in its back to it
- 40:20again. Your yard line, you can take a
- 40:2410 point lead and a half. You have a timeout in your
- 40:26pocket and you run with you ran or let's go back to you and see
- 40:31Brian. Essentially, I still feel the
- 40:33drive that swung that game in their favor with the plus.
- 40:37What? 42?
- 40:39Yep. Third and four.
- 40:42What sort of screen short side two yards behind essentially six
- 40:47yards where you need to, go to Tavian Robinson and then run a
- 40:50slant. Those are the ones that anger me
- 40:53the for him. That's dude, call the right
- 40:57game. Know your strengths, don't get
- 40:58your quarterback killed. Get people comfortable.
- 41:01And you know what go Tempo? And if the coach comes in, as
- 41:05head coach comes screen. Hey, you can't keep doing that.
- 41:07Say listen, this is the only way I can get us going without
- 41:10screwing the pooch. Don't also, don't get a puckered
- 41:13asshole in the Red Zone, run Tempo, the whole field.
- 41:17All of a sudden, get in the Red Zone, you get a puckered asshole
- 41:19and start the overthinking things.
- 41:21You're still killing drives. He just said puckered asshole,
- 41:25folks. All right, well let's look at
- 41:29male Brown. Look.
- 41:29Well over to the defense and I feel like the first two are just
- 41:34becoming the constants. And it's not a shock, the first
- 41:39ones, a defensive line. And obviously with what they do,
- 41:44if we, especially on the interior mind, if we play, like
- 41:49we've been playing the last few weeks, again, if we continue
- 41:53with the similar combinations. Yep, I'll be a little different.
- 41:57Maybe we're Pollard this week because they do like to pass and
- 41:59he can shoot up real quick, but if you're going to roll Pollard
- 42:05out, there you You can't roll Hewitt out there at the same
- 42:08time for significant snaps in a row.
- 42:11That's that's my opinion. Y'all can like it dislike it
- 42:15whatever you want to do with it. But that's that's what I'm
- 42:17saying. Tackles are going to have to
- 42:20hold their own hold their gaps, defensive ends are going to have
- 42:24a much tougher game. They're going to need to force
- 42:28the action at the mesh point and make King give the ball to the
- 42:34running backs. And if he doesn't Of the ball to
- 42:37the running backs. You need to make him pay for
- 42:38that. So are you saying in this case,
- 42:42Brian, like with their owner read, it's just like, don't
- 42:45care. Don't even read it.
- 42:46Just go right after him. The read man needs to attack the
- 42:50mesh point with outside. Leverage you doing meaning that?
- 42:56Yeah, I don't think we're not flying up feel, we're flying at
- 43:01the mesh Point, okay? And in doing that, you should.
- 43:06Could force more often than not. King to give the ball to the
- 43:12running back. And if we can do that, I like
- 43:16our chances, a whole lot better than having to essentially
- 43:20account for both the quarterback and the running backs at the
- 43:24linebacker position, which we're about to get to the soccer
- 43:29linebacker positions. Number two, obviously last week
- 43:32we lost you know Ruck for the majority of that game and and
- 43:38they took it full advantage of that.
- 43:40It appears he should be back. But it's the same way we talked
- 43:45about it earlier. You said it.
- 43:47You said it 17 times tackle, tackle tackle tackle.
- 43:52Yep, I'll all I want to see from the linebackers is good run fits
- 43:56in tackles being made. If that's all I get.
- 43:59That's all I want. So if we can do that, we can
- 44:06worry about the other stuff at a later time.
- 44:09Let's handle the basics of linebacker play.
- 44:12And to me, that's what needs to get done here.
- 44:16All right, holy shit. He's is he gonna score?
- 44:19No, okay, sorry guys. Holds about to go up big 17
- 44:25here, right? Bronze going to have a few
- 44:28celebratory beers after we're done recording.
- 44:31And after maybe his Colts, close it out, the Colts have left, a
- 44:34lot of points on the field to. So it's a 27, the factory at 27
- 44:40with probably easily 10 points left on the field, I'll take
- 44:44that all day. Frank Reich, some credit here.
- 44:48By the way, Frank Wright running those Jet Sweep.
- 44:51Running this pot passes, he's essentially running away from
- 44:54the strength even though that one Clowney play that you
- 44:57mentioned was just horrible, but he's not letting them do
- 45:02essentially what they do up front.
- 45:04Hey Brad. I hope you're watching this.
- 45:06See, look. All right.
- 45:10Last one cuz The defense don't get out of this anyway.
- 45:16This is the big one. Yep.
- 45:20Third down crops is a defense and Brawn.
- 45:24I put it on here. You didn't change it and I think
- 45:26you agree with me and this is as a whole the defensive
- 45:30coordinator Justin. Hamilton call the right plays
- 45:33coaches. I hope you're coaching.
- 45:35The guys up the things that we're seeing this week, that if
- 45:38we do, we're going to do it and the player.
- 45:42Keep your responsibility make the tackle because if third down
- 45:48happens this week like it did last week we offer them by 3.
- 45:54It's going to be a lot more. Yeah, absolutely.
- 45:57And you know, taking it a step further, defensive coaches
- 46:02players on the sideline, keep that team hype on third down to
- 46:06where they're playing with energy, and not looking
- 46:09lethargic. It's like we get to third down
- 46:14and we're like, patting ourselves on the back and were
- 46:16like, forgetting. Oh, yeah.
- 46:17We still got to stop them one more time.
- 46:19Or we, at least need to stop them from gaining enough yards,
- 46:21where they can roll the dice on fourth down and Miami is a team
- 46:25that will roll the dice on fourth down ladies and
- 46:27gentlemen. So, if it's third, fourth, and
- 46:32three or less look for them to go forward, if they're not deep
- 46:35in their own end. It's very true man.
- 46:38It's very true. So those are the pivotal people
- 46:42not little people and it might be more of this as we go along
- 46:47with these last four games of the season right here.
- 46:50Yep. All right.
- 46:51Brian solid. Today he would gets to 25
- 46:57Hopefully it means his plays look better in practice, because
- 47:02it's not been great lately. We know he's the Heart of a
- 47:05Lion, great leader. But you know, we need to see the
- 47:09both on the field and I hope we're on that number, takes them
- 47:12up a little bit. I mean, in some ways, it's
- 47:14almost like he's playing bad, but he's being put in positions
- 47:17to play bad. He's so, I mean, you know, I'm
- 47:25not saying he was the best player on the field.
- 47:27On the defensive line or anything like that, but you
- 47:30know, he plays hard and again, he hasn't been put in the
- 47:33greatest positions to succeed. Hopefully, they do better with
- 47:36that this week with him. Wearing 25, he wore 25 last year
- 47:40when we beat Miami. So hopefully that has some good
- 47:43connotations carrying over into this year.
- 47:45We'll see. Well, see uniforms look like
- 47:48this week. I did not see the reveal.
- 47:50Did we do a reveal? There was not so much of a
- 47:55reveal. It was a little photo.
- 47:56Drop that. You have any you know no video
- 48:01cut nothing like that. We just all right it's fucking
- 48:05maroon Hellman's is fucking maroon Jersey.
- 48:07Fucking white pants fucking white.
- 48:09Cleats you done. Get out of here.
- 48:11I have they have players have been told you playing like,
- 48:15crap, we're losing games, nobody's allowed to go film
- 48:18something. Cool during the day, you don't,
- 48:21you don't get to take, you know, whatever half hour out of your
- 48:25day to throw one a Nice fit and get shot by by Zach and that
- 48:32team. So yeah I kind of like the idea
- 48:38they're just, you know, throwing it out there and being done with
- 48:41it. I mean you don't you don't get
- 48:43to do cool shit. When you play a game like you
- 48:44did against Liberty maybe that's just the way it goes.
- 48:49All right Brian it's prediction time.
- 48:53And I fell flat on my face last week so I get to Let you leave
- 48:58this week. All right man.
- 49:00Well I like this to be a tight game but I don't like us to win
- 49:05it, all right. That's not saying we can't
- 49:10that's saying I don't think we will.
- 49:13I think we definitely have the ability to stay in this game
- 49:16especially if we can find some of the answers that I talked to,
- 49:20but it's going to be tight. And I think it's going to be a
- 49:244138 Miami victory. I'm with you I'm a little bit
- 49:33bigger of a number than you are because I think it's going to be
- 49:38very similar that we're going to have a couple times where
- 49:42instead of scoring touchdowns we score field goals I think it's
- 49:46going to be a good game. I think we're going to show
- 49:48pretty well. I think there probably will be
- 49:49some fire but the way I defensive played really You
- 49:56know, the last three weeks. I can't see us win this game.
- 50:02I'm going to go 49-38 Miami as well.
- 50:07You know, it's one of those things.
- 50:10It's just you want to be a fan and we want.
- 50:13But when you know again rooting for them, you know, basically
- 50:18pretty much our whole adult lives, and a lot of our
- 50:20adolescent years, we want to be real.
- 50:24We don't want to be the That is always Hoagies are going to win.
- 50:28I don't want to become. What's the guy that was in d.c.
- 50:33for all those years? Larry Michaels?
- 50:36Winds were the most Dreadful team.
- 50:40I'm going to save our skins one. This 120 120 and it's like Dude,
- 50:45they're playing the Packers who were like, not in one who are
- 50:48scored. 46 points a game. You guys can't do anything.
- 50:52So, you know, that's just me, man.
- 50:55And I think that's you, as well across the aisle are.
- 50:58Yeah, I mean, honestly, talent-wise other than Clemson
- 51:04and this year, Notre Dame. I think we can compete with
- 51:07pretty much any team in the ACC but we've just been so
- 51:10inconsistent and we got a couple guys like key guys, that might
- 51:13be out of this game just I just don't see it happening, man.
- 51:17Absolutely. All right.
- 51:18Well folks, we're going to roll on five games this week for ACC1
- 51:22out of conference. Because as I said earlier, the
- 51:25SEC is benchley petri dish for covid and nobody's playing.
- 51:28As is the Big Ten is becoming and they're having to just
- 51:31officially fully cancelled games.
- 51:33So, let's look at these four games, four, or five games run.
- 51:37Let's start with wake you and see you and see laying 13 and a
- 51:41half. Brian you let our game.
- 51:45So I'm going to leave this game. I mean, I like you and see and I
- 51:49think they're a good team, but I've seen Wait playing wake is
- 51:53very Scrappy and I feel like giving them almost to touch down
- 51:58is way too much. I think they will put up some
- 52:01points against you and see. I think I'll lose but I think
- 52:05it'll be a lot closer than what the experts think.
- 52:10Yeah, that's a one score game. Give me wake in the points.
- 52:14All right, so we got an agreement here on this one and
- 52:18Chuck. Not that shocked.
- 52:20Yeah, I'm not shocked at all. Louisville UVA game got
- 52:25canceled. Last week, due to some issues
- 52:28down in Louisville. Can't blame us.
- 52:32Everybody's had it on our team, they can.
- 52:33Have it a second time and give it to you anything.
- 52:36Laying three and a half, a two and 14 playing three and a half.
- 52:41Where you think? Hollow Man.
- 52:46UVA is one of those teams that's burn me a couple times and
- 52:49helped me a couple times. Man, give me.
- 53:00Give me Louisville. All right, Louisville for Brian.
- 53:06I'm going to go opposite on this one.
- 53:07I'm going to pick the lawyers here I just because when you
- 53:13hear team lost that much with covid, you know there are some
- 53:16guys out for my a game probably people not getting full weeks of
- 53:20practice and even like this I think UVA of scrap it together
- 53:28in some way, shape or form and beat them.
- 53:29So, I'll tell you what, I'll tell you the reason that I'm
- 53:33going Louisville's, just because that UVA secondary has been
- 53:37suspect and I think, I think they had some big plays down the
- 53:41field against this team. All right.
- 53:45The next one Brian and I'll lead this one.
- 53:49He's going to BBC Notre Dame. Notre, Dame coming off that.
- 53:53Unbelievable when Saturday. Night over Clemson in touchdown,
- 54:00in the shadow of touchdown, Jesus, they are laying 13 and a
- 54:04half to be see, Brian, do you know the last time Notre Dame be
- 54:10the number one team prior to parity night I do not.
- 54:15It was 1993. It was a good vacuum is one of
- 54:19those first college football memories, they beat Charlie,
- 54:22Ward and FSU Essentially Ward's. Last second touchdown pass to
- 54:28the end zone. Fell flat, Irish wind flood the
- 54:31field like Saturday night. Going to many people.
- 54:33Do you know who they played the next week?
- 54:35Who's up? He played BC?
- 54:37Do you know what happened the next week?
- 54:41What happened next week lost? Okay, getting themselves out of
- 54:45the national championship game. Okay, so everything wins this
- 54:52but I'm gonna lay the Thirteen and a half.
- 54:55There's no way you're going to say they're going to cover
- 54:58almost two scores coming off, that kind of emotional victory.
- 55:03So, give me BC, give me the Thirteen and a half points.
- 55:09I'm right there with you actually.
- 55:12We saw BC hang in there against Clemson.
- 55:16I think it's a similar type deal here especially with Notre Dame
- 55:21coming off a big victory. Probably feel really good about
- 55:25themselves right now. Oh yeah.
- 55:27And I think BC you know, Notre Dame, does a really good job of
- 55:31taking away. The Run they say, do BC.
- 55:36Don't really run the ball man or yeah, we've talked about one of
- 55:40the worst running teams in it. So, you know, I think BC still
- 55:45moves the ball because they're not relying upon gaining, a
- 55:48bunch of yards on the ground. So I think BC is able to keep it
- 55:52close. Absolutely.
- 55:54All right, this is an interesting brine because the
- 55:56way everything's look down in Tallahassee, we think it's bad
- 56:00here and we've seen people take points like Listen, we're at
- 56:05least 4 and 3/4 to and Conference.
- 56:10Fsu's Alex, what one in? Five, two and five, one and five
- 56:14in conference, right? Am I, yeah, I think Marvin
- 56:23Wilson and several other guys opted out this week.
- 56:27One of their wide receivers is transfer an Indiana.
- 56:30So what do you think? Brian on the FSU, NC State game.
- 56:36This would have been a bad line before the mass Exodus.
- 56:41Give me n c-- State, man. I'm gonna go right with you
- 56:47Brian because it's a mass Exodus.
- 56:51You know. Yeah, they got their quarterback
- 56:53but you saw, you saw them just Hemorrhage points to pit and pit
- 57:01held them. But I think what it is, is the
- 57:03quarterback who did have those success for a few weeks, the
- 57:06tapes, getting out there. It's like, this is what we can
- 57:08do to take it away. So I'm going to take it with
- 57:11you, all right. We're go out of conference for
- 57:14the big one Saturday night. Night.
- 57:16Michigan at Wisconsin, Wisconsin, who has been coded
- 57:21riddle? For multiple weeks is land, 4
- 57:23and a half. And I'm trying to figure out,
- 57:29you know, I know, Michigan's lost two in a row, you know,
- 57:32after the opening week, win against Minnesota, losing the
- 57:35Michigan State losing last weekend, Indiana, but you're
- 57:40talking about was Constantine that hasn't played in three
- 57:42weeks. You also don't know when that
- 57:45was Constantine is going to be how fully engaged.
- 57:49They're going to be with all their players.
- 57:51I don't know if Michigan's going to win this game or not, but if
- 57:54you're giving me points in the way, I'm smelling things.
- 57:57I'll take Michigan over Khan. Yeah, this this one's kind of an
- 58:03interesting one because you got two scenarios that are working
- 58:06against each other. You've got Wisconsin, that
- 58:11probably is the better team if nothing you know everything all
- 58:16the other factors taken out Wisconsin's the better team, but
- 58:21they're coming off multiple weeks of dealing with covid.
- 58:23You don't know how many of their players are going to be 100%.
- 58:29How many of their players have gotten significant amount of
- 58:31practice on the other side, you've got Michigan, that has
- 58:37not played well, the last two weeks.
- 58:39But you've got hard ball, that's probably coaching for his job at
- 58:44this point. You know what?
- 58:50Give me the badgers. Oh, okay.
- 58:55Brian goes with the Badgers. And we actually picked, let's
- 59:04see here. We actually disagreed on two
- 59:07things this week. So, yeah, it's like, it's like a
- 59:09record, especially for the smaller sample size.
- 59:31Throwing a Boston butt on the smoker going carolina-style,
- 59:35okay? Yes, sir.
- 59:37What's, what? Some sort of a few must-haves
- 59:40when you do a Carolina style sauce.
- 59:44So I usually go with with vinegar and some Texas P,
- 59:47throwing a little brown sugar and some some pepper flakes
- 59:51that's in my Essentially use that as a mop sauce, and then I
- 59:56dress it at the end after I pulled it as far as actually
- 1:00:00rubbing the but itself, when I go carolina-style, I just go
- 1:00:05kosher salt. Hell yeah.
- 1:00:09I left, I left the mop sauce. Flavor, everything, and just let
- 1:00:12the salt do the talking as far as the rub?
- 1:00:14Nice, man. Anything breaking other than
- 1:00:18your team is up 17 with the ball. 650.
- 1:00:23We run out the clock. Now, this is a Kill Shot here.
- 1:00:27Nothing else, man. I haven't seen anything come
- 1:00:29across my board also. Well, that's going to wrap up
- 1:00:33this episode of The Boundary Corner podcast.
- 1:00:36I'm Curtis Wilson. I'm Brian Sigler.
