Kentucky Joins Federal Education Tax Credit | Lexington News
Kentucky just jumped into a big federal tax credit program that lets families donate to scholarship funds and get a tax break—up to $1,700 per person or $3,400 for couples. After overriding Governor Beshear’s veto, the Republican-led legislature made it official for the 2027 tax year, despite concerns it could hurt public schools. Scholarships cover private school, tutoring, books, and even internet for kids from families earning up to 300% of their area’s median income.
