- 2:22Speaker 2: at 5 and then reset, so Beaver can get out
- 2:25Speaker 2: of here and then Bill can, Bill does those games,
- 2:27Speaker 2: doesn't he? Yeah. Or do you do those games? I
- 2:30Speaker 2: can't remember. And then Friday we'll be in Tupelo, Tupelo
- 2:33Speaker 2: for Brandon and Tupelo. So today I'm going to a
- 2:38Speaker 2: junior high football game for my middle kid. And he's
- 2:41Speaker 2: back in football for first time in two years. And
- 2:44Speaker 2: do you know what this knucklehead had the audacity to
- 2:47Speaker 2: ask me last night? He showed me something on the
- 2:51Speaker 2: Instagram that, And it was some football team walkout. Could
- 2:57Speaker 2: his team walk out like this, some jazzed up walkout song.
- 3:01Speaker 2: And he's more enamored with the walkout song. And I said, dude,
- 3:06Speaker 2: you're going to get, you better get your mind right.
- 3:08Speaker 2: Like you're going to get decleted out there. You know,
- 3:10Speaker 2: you're going to get your head taken off. I'm very
- 3:12Speaker 2: disappointed that these young kids are all about this, this
- 3:14Speaker 2: walkout song tonight.
- 3:16Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:16Speaker 1: How old is he?
- 3:17Speaker 3: 13, 13.
- 3:18Speaker 1: I couldn't remember. I thought 14, 13. Yeah, that's, That's
- 3:22Speaker 1: how it goes these days. We always talk about the youths.
- 3:27Speaker 1: It's more about the present. Oh, we go back to,
- 3:31Speaker 1: and I can't remember his name, but it was like eight,
- 3:35Speaker 1: nine years ago now, he was the coach of Coastal
- 3:39Speaker 1: Carolina's football team. And he went on that rant about
- 3:44Speaker 1: be a dog.
- 3:45Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 3:46Speaker 1: He started telling this story. There's a cat that broke
- 3:49Speaker 1: in the house. Cat in the house. Meow. And I
- 3:51Speaker 1: was telling my kids, my football players, I said, y'all
- 3:55Speaker 1: concerned with the wrong thing. You're all concerned with do.
- 3:58Speaker 2: I look good?
- 3:59Speaker 1: Do I have extra bands on? Be a dog.
- 4:01Speaker 2: Be a dog.
- 4:02Speaker 1: We already got a bunch of cats. Be a dog. Yeah.
- 4:05Speaker 1: And that's it. Your kid is now concerned with do
- 4:09Speaker 1: I have extra bands on? Yeah. Do I look good?
- 4:12Speaker 1: What's the walkout music?
- 4:14Speaker 2: I mean, I really hate to say this. I hope
- 4:18Speaker 2: he gets smoked tonight. I'm serious. Let's bring the look.
- 4:23Speaker 2: I'm an equal opportunity kind of person. Bring the kid
- 4:26Speaker 2: back to reality. Boom. And then all of a sudden
- 4:30Speaker 2: you get hit and you don't know where you're at.
- 4:31Speaker 2: You're like, oh, my gosh. Now, how do you want
- 4:33Speaker 2: your walkout song now? How about your walkout song now
- 4:37Speaker 2: while you're laying on the ground? How about your walkout
- 4:38Speaker 2: song now when you don't know where you are? I
- 4:40Speaker 2: can't stand that stuff. By the way, did you see
- 4:42Speaker 2: the NFL is cracking down on taunting? There's a report out. Yeah,
- 4:47Speaker 2: we'll get to that. Mississippi State fans should have some
- 4:52Speaker 2: hope today. ResDogs should have some hope today. Did you
- 4:55Speaker 2: see what State did today? State is officially bringing back.
- 5:00Speaker 2: They did a great video. I shared it on X
- 5:04Speaker 2: at Hell State Football titled Leave Your Legacy. And Wayne Madkin,
- 5:09Speaker 2: former Mississippi State quarterback, is the centerpiece of this video.
- 5:14Speaker 2: And it's very, very nostalgic. It takes you back. Madkin's
- 5:17Speaker 2: looking through a lot of the old clippings when he
- 5:19Speaker 2: played at Mississippi State under Jackie Sherrill, when they played
- 5:22Speaker 2: in the Snow Bowl. And then Joe's favorite quarterback at
- 5:27Speaker 2: Mississippi State ever. Do you know who that is?
- 5:29Speaker 1: Camario Taylor.
- 5:30Speaker 2: Camario Taylor is at the end of it. And it's
- 5:33Speaker 2: Leave Your Legacy. They're bringing officially back for good the M...
- 5:37Speaker 2: SU locking logo it's back they're getting rid of the
- 5:42Speaker 2: other crap that's up there I never liked it when
- 5:45Speaker 2: they got rid of the MSU logo the real football
- 5:50Speaker 2: logo and went to the hell state all you know
- 5:53Speaker 2: M state all this other whatever that they did they're
- 5:57Speaker 2: getting rid of that and they're bringing the old football
- 5:59Speaker 2: logo back and back and passes it off and says
- 6:02Speaker 2: now it's yours live your legacy I thought it was
- 6:05Speaker 2: very very good very well done Should we give Zach
- 6:10Speaker 2: Selman a raise for bringing the old logo back?
- 6:15Speaker 1: You know, I think it's good that they finally did it.
- 6:19Speaker 1: It seems like this talk has been going on for
- 6:22Speaker 1: at least that I can remember about at least three
- 6:26Speaker 1: years now, people talking about, why not bring that back?
- 6:29Speaker 1: Mississippi State fans, that is. Why not bring that back?
- 6:31Speaker 1: Bring that back. And they finally did it. So I
- 6:33Speaker 1: don't know if he deserves a raise for it, but.
- 6:37Speaker 2: It's good.
- 6:38Speaker 1: It's going to lead to merchandising sales. Now, here's the thing.
- 6:43Speaker 1: They're going to go out and buy those. But if
- 6:46Speaker 1: they have another terrible season, the people that went and
- 6:49Speaker 1: bought it are immediately going to burn it. So I
- 6:53Speaker 1: don't know. Joe also is a big fan of Zach Selman,
- 6:56Speaker 1: as you know.
- 6:57Speaker 2: He is.
- 6:57Speaker 1: So I think Selman and Taylor are like a package
- 7:00Speaker 1: deal for Joe.
- 7:01Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. So maybe Joe will donate to the Camario
- 7:04Speaker 2: Taylor NIL fund and the Zach Selman raise fund. So
- 7:09Speaker 2: I'm glad they're bringing it back. I never liked. Look,
- 7:13Speaker 2: there are certain things you don't touch. And I get it.
- 7:15Speaker 2: State's football program will never be, you know, confused for Alabama.
- 7:19Speaker 2: It'll never be confused for Georgia. But that logo is
- 7:24Speaker 2: is state football, just like the baseball logo is state's
- 7:28Speaker 2: baseball logo. You know, you don't see Ole Miss. They've
- 7:32Speaker 2: changed uniform colors, but they've never changed the script. It's
- 7:36Speaker 2: Ole Miss. You don't see Bama changing the script day.
- 7:40Speaker 2: You don't see Georgia changing. But State, somebody got cute
- 7:46Speaker 2: 15 years ago and decided, or whenever it was, that
- 7:48Speaker 2: they needed to do away with the MSU football logo.
- 7:53Speaker 2: And I wasn't happy then, and now I'm very happy
- 7:55Speaker 2: they're bringing it back. It's just like Southern Miss. It's
- 7:59Speaker 2: the Southern Miss. Now, yes, they've changed the eagle, and
- 8:01Speaker 2: it looks good. Jackson State doesn't change it. Why did
- 8:04Speaker 2: State ever feel like they needed to change the STEM logo?
- 8:08Speaker 3: Why?
- 8:09Speaker 2: What was the purpose? So I'm glad they're bringing it back.
- 8:12Speaker 2: I really am. I think that could could that be
- 8:14Speaker 2: two more wins?
- 8:17Speaker 1: Well, well, slow down on that one, one baby step
- 8:21Speaker 1: at a time.
- 8:22Speaker 2: It's good.
- 8:22Speaker 1: It's good. You know what? It's good news for now.
- 8:25Speaker 1: So just stick on that. Just focus on that news
- 8:29Speaker 1: for a few weeks. Don't don't already decide, you know,
- 8:33Speaker 1: don't don't think about the games. Just think about this
- 8:36Speaker 1: news for now.
- 8:38Speaker 2: There's a lot of news to get to. The Big
- 8:40Speaker 2: Ten is now passing a rule where they will not
- 8:45Speaker 2: allow pro players from the NFL to return to Big
- 8:48Speaker 2: Ten schools. This is fantastic news. The SEC is meeting today.
- 8:53Speaker 2: We've got an excerpt from last night. They're fixing to
- 8:56Speaker 2: do the same thing. The Big 12 and the ACC
- 9:00Speaker 2: is discussing doing the same thing. Do you know the
- 9:02Speaker 2: one person who's hot as a hornet today? And he's
- 9:04Speaker 2: publicly hot about it? Lane Kiffin. Lane Kiffin is not happy.
- 9:10Speaker 2: He is not happy. Will he go down as the
- 9:13Speaker 2: biggest villain maybe ever in college football? I think he's
- 9:17Speaker 2: well on that.
- 9:18Speaker 1: He's on the path.
- 9:19Speaker 2: He's on the path, and he's on the train. Let
- 9:20Speaker 2: me get a couple texts real quick before we have
- 9:22Speaker 2: to take a break here. We've got Bill Bender coming
- 9:24Speaker 2: in at 440, so it's going to be a lot
- 9:25Speaker 2: of you guys and us today, which we're here for that.
- 9:28Speaker 2: White Denzel, love that speech by Coach David Bennett. Also,
- 9:31Speaker 2: rest in peace, Dolly Parton. Yes, we're going to dedicate
- 9:34Speaker 2: the show to Dolly Parton. She passes away today at 80,
- 9:38Speaker 2: I believe. Where do you put her iconic wise? Like
- 9:44Speaker 2: if you if you and I know there's so many people,
- 9:46Speaker 2: but are we putting her up there with the Michael
- 9:50Speaker 2: Jackson's the Elvis? I mean, are we putting her there?
- 9:58Speaker 1: I suppose so.
- 9:59Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 10:00Speaker 1: World of country music. I never celebrated her catalog, but. Yeah,
- 10:07Speaker 1: she's she's definitely up there.
- 10:09Speaker 2: Way up there. She has a theme park. Does that matter? Dollywood.
- 10:14Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 10:15Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:15Speaker 2: You've been to Dollywood.
- 10:16Speaker 1: I haven't.
- 10:17Speaker 2: See, you need to take the missus and the pig.
- 10:19Speaker 2: And head to Dollywood.
- 10:21Speaker 1: I have heard it's pretty neat. It is.
- 10:23Speaker 3: It is.
- 10:23Speaker 2: It really is. You've never been to a Dixie Stampede,
- 10:26Speaker 2: have you? No. No, it's a rodeo where you go
- 10:28Speaker 2: in and sit down. One big old arena. They bring
- 10:31Speaker 2: the food to you and you eat it with your hands. Chicken, potatoes,
- 10:36Speaker 2: you just eat it with your hands.
- 10:38Speaker 1: What is this, at Dollywood? Yeah.
- 10:40Speaker 2: Yeah, Dixie Stampede. Check it out. Rest in peace, Dolly Parton.
- 10:43Speaker 2: We're brought to you by BCI, that's Business Communications Incorporated.

- 11:36Speaker 2: And where?
- 11:37Speaker 3: And now.
- 11:37Speaker 1: We're back.
- 11:38Speaker 2: To Jake Wiberly with the afternoon drop on ESPN 105.9
- 11:40Speaker 2: The Zone and online at TheZone1059. com. Tuesday edition of your
- 11:57Speaker 2: radio show brought to you by Corbin Greer Construction. Let
- 12:00Speaker 2: them help you with all your roofing needs. Commercial residential
- 12:03Speaker 2: roofing from TPO Rubber, architectural shingles, metal roofing solutions, hardy siding,
- 12:08Speaker 2: seamless gutters, paint interior or exterior. They can help you
- 12:11Speaker 2: do it all.
- 12:12Speaker 3: 662-792-4201.
- 12:12Speaker 2: That's 662-792-4201. We'll have bill Bender, uh, right at the
- 12:20Speaker 2: close of the show, four 42 hours today as a
- 12:23Speaker 2: two news notes, a lot of news, but the biggest, uh,
- 12:26Speaker 2: Dolly Parton passes away today. Rest in peace to her, uh,
- 12:29Speaker 2: iconic figure country music and Mississippi state is officially bringing
- 12:34Speaker 2: back the very popular interlocking MSU logo. Uh, that's from
- 12:39Speaker 2: the 96 roughly to 2003 era. Obviously they had versions
- 12:43Speaker 2: of that prior to, um, and this is, this is
- 12:47Speaker 2: a great move. I'm, I'm glad the adults are back
- 12:49Speaker 2: in the room. Is that fair? I'm glad the adults
- 12:52Speaker 2: are back in the room in Starkville to bring back
- 12:55Speaker 2: the interlocking Mississippi State logo, MSU. It's what needs to
- 12:59Speaker 2: be on the helmet. And look, I know in the
- 13:02Speaker 2: grand scheme of things, uniforms aren't everything. But that logo,
- 13:06Speaker 2: when you go back and look at some of the
- 13:08Speaker 2: other logos, I never was a fan of those logos. Again,
- 13:12Speaker 2: try ripping the state off the front of that baseball
- 13:15Speaker 2: jersey and changing that. Do you think fans would accept that? No.
- 13:20Speaker 2: Not happening. Not happening. Drug dog. We will take any
- 13:23Speaker 2: good news about our football program now. Absolutely. So is
- 13:28Speaker 2: it two more wins? You ready to go eight and four?
- 13:32Speaker 2: With the logo back?
- 13:33Speaker 1: DX has upped it.
- 13:35Speaker 2: Has he? Let's see. DX on the Cowboy Maloney's text line.
- 13:39Speaker 2: He says at least this is good for three more wins.
- 13:43Speaker 2: What do you think? They're going to bring the Dog
- 13:44Speaker 2: Pound Rock back too?
- 13:46Speaker 1: No, let's not get crazy now. Let's not mess around
- 13:51Speaker 1: with all that, and they're going to end up winning
- 13:52Speaker 1: 10 games.
- 13:55Speaker 2: Right? Yeah. You remember those days?
- 13:58Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 13:59Speaker 2: That was very, very fun times. That Mississippi State team,
- 14:07Speaker 2: that year, those two or three years, were they arrogant?
- 14:14Speaker 2: Or were they just confident?
- 14:17Speaker 1: I guess it was a lot of confidence, but a
- 14:22Speaker 1: lot of times that much confidence is going to sound
- 14:24Speaker 1: like arrogance.
- 14:25Speaker 2: Yeah. They were very tough. Those were very, very tough
- 14:29Speaker 2: football teams. Very physical football teams. Defensive first football teams
- 14:34Speaker 2: run the football, obviously a different era. It's hard to
- 14:36Speaker 2: believe that's a different era, but that was definitely a
- 14:38Speaker 2: different era. When you start talking about the run game
- 14:41Speaker 2: with Kiefer McGee, rest in peace, J.J. Johnson, and then
- 14:45Speaker 2: Descenzo Miller. You kind of go up Dante Walker, you know,
- 14:49Speaker 2: all those backs that came through back then. That was
- 14:51Speaker 2: a different deal for Mississippi State. But they're bringing back
- 14:54Speaker 2: the logo. Let's see. Possum Neck Joe. Let's see. He says,
- 15:01Speaker 2: after this coming weekend, it's going to be a free-for-all
- 15:04Speaker 2: of guys who don't make the cut in the NFL
- 15:08Speaker 2: flocking back to college. He says, well, just y'all say
- 15:12Speaker 2: some conferences are now going to not allow it.
- 15:15Speaker 3: Great.
- 15:16Speaker 2: Yeah, let me get into that real quickly. The Big
- 15:19Speaker 2: Ten has passed a rule to where NFL players cannot
- 15:22Speaker 2: come back to school and play in the Big Ten.
- 15:24Speaker 2: The SEC is set their meeting tonight and tomorrow. As
- 15:29Speaker 2: Ross Dellinger reported this morning, SEC presidents are expected to
- 15:32Speaker 2: direct athletic directors against accepting pro players under threat of penalty.
- 15:38Speaker 2: Per bylaws, Greg Sankey and or presidents hold authority to
- 15:41Speaker 2: deem a player ineligible, fine, suspend coaches, etc., It says,
- 15:45Speaker 2: will they, quote, this is Sankey's Sorsby moment, one person says.
- 15:49Speaker 2: Talking about Brandon Sorsby. Is it a Brandon Sorsby moment?
- 15:52Speaker 1: Yeah, it is because Texas Tech came out.
- 15:55Speaker 2: Or Brennan, Brennan Sorsby.
- 15:56Speaker 1: Yeah, they were talking about, they were all behind Sorsby
- 16:02Speaker 1: until the league came out and came, you know, they said, okay, well,
- 16:07Speaker 1: we might have to enforce some penalties. So if the
- 16:11Speaker 1: league's going to come out, it's a very similar situation.
- 16:14Speaker 1: Not just designed at one player, but it's very similar.
- 16:19Speaker 1: It makes me think of that, yeah. No, I totally
- 16:23Speaker 1: agree with that. Also, let's see here.
- 16:26Speaker 2: The Big 12 is also considering, and you don't have
- 16:28Speaker 2: these things to go, it's a domino effect. The Big
- 16:30Speaker 2: 12 is considering a league-wide policy banning pro players returning
- 16:33Speaker 2: to the conference, meaning that all four power leagues, because
- 16:37Speaker 2: the ACC, believe it or not, And Jim Phillips, they're
- 16:41Speaker 2: on board with this too. Thankfully, he's got a little
- 16:43Speaker 2: bit of common sense. All four power leagues are set
- 16:46Speaker 2: to consider such a rule, courtesy of Yahoo Sports, as
- 16:51Speaker 2: the college sports eligibility crisis is, quote, sprawling well beyond
- 16:55Speaker 2: LSU football and basketball. Also, how about this? A little
- 17:02Speaker 2: pivot here. KFC is, did you see this? They're releasing
- 17:07Speaker 2: an Oreo chicken burger. The collab features cookie-style buns, mashed
- 17:14Speaker 2: potatoes covered in crushed Oreo pieces, a fried chicken filet,
- 17:18Speaker 2: and launches in China on August 28th, which means it'll
- 17:21Speaker 2: be over here. An Oreo chicken sandwich.
- 17:31Speaker 1: That sounds and looks terrible.
- 17:34Speaker 2: It does, doesn't it? It is a god-awful look. I mean,
- 17:37Speaker 2: some things just aren't meant to go together, are they?
- 17:40Speaker 2: And this seems to be one of them. It absolutely
- 17:42Speaker 2: seems to be one of them. Let's see. Jason and Flagstaff.
- 17:46Speaker 2: I love Dolly's music, to be clear, but how she
- 17:49Speaker 2: lived her life, her charitable and. Is that philanthropic? Philanthropic
- 17:57Speaker 2: contributions specifically known and unknown far exceeds her music success.
- 18:02Speaker 2: Woman was a patron saint of hillbillies. I like the
- 18:05Speaker 2: way you put that. And Scott in Philly. Scott from Philly.
- 18:08Speaker 2: This is Scott from Philly. Let's see. State is going 8-4.
- 18:11Speaker 2: What do you think about that? You think State's going 8-4?
- 18:15Speaker 1: I don't know about all that. That reminds me of Andre, though.
- 18:21Speaker 1: Andre said they're going 8-4, but he also at the
- 18:23Speaker 1: same time said that Levy's going to get fired by October.
- 18:27Speaker 1: So I don't know how those two would go together.
- 18:30Speaker 2: That would be the weirdest of weird things, right? State
- 18:33Speaker 2: goes 8-4, Levy's out. Midseason. Miko, talk about having a
- 18:38Speaker 2: big back closed KFC. He's wanting to close the whole establishment.
- 18:48Speaker 2: How far, let me ask you this, or has it,
- 18:50Speaker 2: with all of the chicken places out there, and you
- 18:53Speaker 2: know Chicken Alley over there in North Brandon, 047, how
- 18:58Speaker 2: far down the chicken ring has KFC fallen? It was
- 19:02Speaker 2: the champ for decades. It was the king of chicken.
- 19:06Speaker 2: And then it got Competitors like Popeyes, churches, but then others.
- 19:11Speaker 2: Is it how far down the list is it?
- 19:14Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, I could I'd have to think about
- 19:17Speaker 1: all the chicken places because there's so many now. But
- 19:21Speaker 1: without giving a specific ranking, I will tell you way
- 19:24Speaker 1: far down. They have fallen so far down the list,
- 19:28Speaker 1: which is insanity, because like you said, they used to
- 19:31Speaker 1: be the king. Kentucky Fried Chicken. The Colonel. That's all.
- 19:36Speaker 1: That's all you had to say. The Colonel. They were
- 19:38Speaker 1: just known as the Colonel. They had that sweet mascot. Yeah.
- 19:41Speaker 1: And they are just last time I had them. That
- 19:45Speaker 1: was it's just disgusting how far they've fallen.
- 19:49Speaker 2: Yeah. the the service is typically not real good um
- 19:53Speaker 2: the chicken is very average are they nebraska football yeah
- 20:00Speaker 2: i think kfc is the nebraska football yes.
- 20:03Speaker 1: You know what kfc they they were They were that
- 20:08Speaker 1: Tommy Frazier, Lawrence Phillips, Nebraska.
- 20:10Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 20:11Speaker 1: And now they are, what's that punk's name? They are
- 20:16Speaker 1: the Dylan Raiola, Nebraska.
- 20:18Speaker 2: Yeah. Who is now at Oregon, by the way.
- 20:20Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 20:21Speaker 2: But he was still, he was the face of that
- 20:23Speaker 2: whole deal. We're going to get into the biggest, heaviest
- 20:26Speaker 2: football teams in college football. Also, a lot of other
- 20:29Speaker 2: good stuff out there. And I've got to always give
- 20:31Speaker 2: him credit for this. Bunky Perkins, a tradition like none other.
- 20:34Speaker 2: The Ole Miss Sigma New Pledge List is out. We've
- 20:38Speaker 2: got a new list of pledges at Ole Miss. These
- 20:41Speaker 2: names will tickle you. They'll make you cry. We'll talk
- 20:43Speaker 2: about that and more. We're brought to you by Maristar Casino.
- 20:46Speaker 2: Get out and play. Don't forget about four great restaurants
- 20:48Speaker 2: that are on that property Thursday through Sunday. You can
- 20:50Speaker 2: get Bella's every day of the week, pizzas, wings, and more.
- 20:53Speaker 2: More coming your way on a Tuesday. Back in a moment.
- 20:55Speaker 2: And action! We got that. And a whole lot more
- 20:58Speaker 2: around here. It's the Afternoon Drive with Jake Wimberly.
- 21:01Speaker 4: What's the score?
- 21:02Speaker 2: He's got that.
- 21:02Speaker 1: Along with the hottest sports stories of the day. On
- 21:04Speaker 1: ESPN 105.9 The Zone and online at thezone1059.
- 21:06Speaker 2: Com. the big 10 has now come out and said
- 21:26Speaker 2: schools that violate the big 10s NFL rule, which means
- 21:28Speaker 2: no players from the NFL to the big 10 will
- 21:30Speaker 2: result in a coach suspension of 50% of contest and
- 21:35Speaker 2: an institutional fine courtesy of Pete Naco. So the big 10, uh,
- 21:40Speaker 2: they're leading on this. They are late. Now the sec
- 21:42Speaker 2: is meeting on this and the big 12 and the
- 21:45Speaker 2: ACC have, uh, said that they will likely implement something
- 21:49Speaker 2: very similar. Let's see. Uh, Jason Flagstaff says that, uh,
- 21:54Speaker 2: KFC ranks from first to 93rd, depending on where I'm at.
- 22:00Speaker 2: There's one about an hour from here that's still like
- 22:03Speaker 2: they all were back in the old days, and I
- 22:05Speaker 2: stop every time in there. Everywhere else, they absolutely suck.
- 22:09Speaker 2: PT for MSU is a big fan of Bunky Perkins
- 22:12Speaker 2: on X, says he's one of the best as far
- 22:15Speaker 2: as SEC and Mississippi humor, and that he is. Unnamed
- 22:17Speaker 2: texter Lane Kiffin is a mad genius to take the
- 22:19Speaker 2: talk away from the No. 5 jersey. Well, I don't
- 22:22Speaker 2: know if... be meant to do it that way. But yeah,
- 22:25Speaker 2: whatever happened, I guess nothing's going to happen with Jane Danielson.
- 22:27Speaker 2: The number five, nothing's going to happen with that. All right.
- 22:32Speaker 2: Let's see here. Who's got the biggest and heaviest teams
- 22:35Speaker 2: in college football this year based on average roster weight,
- 22:40Speaker 2: roster weight, Wisconsin leads the country, the heaviest football teams
- 22:45Speaker 2: in the country based on total roster weight, one end
- 22:48Speaker 2: of the other, the average weight, of a Wisconsin football
- 22:52Speaker 2: player's 242.2 pounds. The question is, can they run? Virginia Tech, 242.1 pounds. Texas, 240.8.
- 22:56Speaker 2: South Carolina, 240.6. Notre Dame, the same. Oklahoma, a tenth
- 22:59Speaker 2: under it, 240.5. Washington, 240.2. Illinois, 240.1. Mississippi State checks
- 23:01Speaker 2: in at 239.9. Mississippi State's heavy. They got their logo back.
- 23:22Speaker 2: They're one of the heaviest teams in the country. Maybe
- 23:25Speaker 2: we're underselling this football team. Florida, 239.3 as far as
- 23:31Speaker 2: weight is concerned. All right, so Bunky Perkins, who is
- 23:34Speaker 2: on X, he has been doing this a long time.
- 23:37Speaker 2: He typically just interjects a lot of humor. He has
- 23:41Speaker 2: this tradition every year where he lists the Ole Miss
- 23:44Speaker 2: Sigma Nu pledge list, the fraternity to Ole Miss, and
- 23:47Speaker 2: it always has some unbelievable names. Peter Burns jumped on this.
- 23:52Speaker 2: There's a guy on here. He said, put some respect
- 23:54Speaker 2: on Cannon Calloway's name and Thatcher Kenyon Sr. Would you
- 24:01Speaker 2: name your kid Thatcher? Let me just give you some
- 24:04Speaker 2: of these. These are pledges at Ole Miss in this fraternity.
- 24:09Speaker 2: Max Manchester. Jay James Markentel. Let's see. William McKenzie V.
- 24:22Speaker 2: Maximilian Morton. These are real people. They call him Max.
- 24:26Speaker 2: Would you name your kid Maximilian? Let's see. Noah Randolph.
- 24:31Speaker 2: That seems common. Wyatt Shoner. Charles Schrader. Let's see. Walker Slattery.
- 24:42Speaker 2: That doesn't sound like anybody you want your daughter to date.
- 24:46Speaker 2: Walker Slattery. Also, Aiden Spear. And let me go over
- 24:53Speaker 2: to the other page. These are just some highlights. Of course,
- 24:55Speaker 2: it's a lot of them. John Foster Dale. If you
- 25:02Speaker 2: had a double name, what would it be? Like John
- 25:07Speaker 2: David Baker, John Foster Dale. What would your double name be?
- 25:15Speaker 1: Like the whole two first names?
- 25:17Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 25:18Speaker 1: I don't like to think about that because I can't
- 25:20Speaker 1: stand that crap. Hey, here's Stephanie Allison. When you started this,
- 25:27Speaker 1: I thought these names were going to be funny, by
- 25:29Speaker 1: the way. This is a really big letdown so far.
- 25:31Speaker 1: There's this Bunky Perkins character.
- 25:33Speaker 2: We have to fight him on X. I do like
- 25:36Speaker 2: Michael Cannon Calloway, but they got Cannon in quotes. Do
- 25:40Speaker 2: you think they just call him Cannon? There's a lot
- 25:43Speaker 2: of Eastons and Maddoxes on this list. So go figure that.
- 25:48Speaker 2: So that list is out there if you want to
- 25:50Speaker 2: see it. All right. Cody Carpenter, who covers college football
- 25:57Speaker 2: and also the NFL draft, high school recruiting analyst, he
- 26:03Speaker 2: went through all 192 games in the SEC football slate,
- 26:08Speaker 2: and here is how he has the SEC. Now, this
- 26:11Speaker 2: seems a little bit more realistic. Maybe not everybody, but
- 26:16Speaker 2: the way he's got the five, nine, and three teams,
- 26:18Speaker 2: and I think that's very possible. He has Texas finishing 11-1.
- 26:23Speaker 2: 8-1 in the conference. He has LSU and Georgia tied
- 26:28Speaker 2: at second, finishing 10-2 and 7-2. Texas A & M, Oklahoma,
- 26:35Speaker 2: South Carolina, Alabama, and Ole Miss finishing 9-3, 6-3. Tennessee
- 26:37Speaker 2: finishing 8-4, 5-4. And he has Mississippi State finishing 8-4, 5-4. Florida, 7-5, 4-5. Kentucky, 4-8, 2-7. Auburn, 5-7, 2-7. Missouri, 4-8, 1-8.
- 26:59Speaker 2: And look, a lot of people talk about this. Missouri,
- 27:02Speaker 2: they've lived around 7-8-9. They'll get a 10th win every
- 27:06Speaker 2: now and then. Missouri very well could slide back. Vanderbilt, 4-8, 1-8.
- 27:11Speaker 2: And Arkansas, 2-10, 0-9. Planet Pearl says, Billy Bob Beaver.
- 27:18Speaker 2: What do you think about that?
- 27:20Speaker 1: I like that.
- 27:20Speaker 2: Did you go with Billy Bob?
- 27:21Speaker 1: Billy Bob.
- 27:23Speaker 2: And unnamed texter Beaver goes by Beaver and doesn't know
- 27:26Speaker 2: who Bunky Perkins is. His view on double names is
- 27:29Speaker 2: completely irrelevant. So you don't care. Right?
- 27:32Speaker 1: Neat.
- 27:33Speaker 2: What do you think about this guy saying State 8-4?
- 27:37Speaker 2: It's a positive Mississippi State news today. What do you think?
- 27:41Speaker 1: 8-4 everywhere.
- 27:42Speaker 2: 8-4 everywhere with a new logo back. All right. Cousin Shane,
- 27:47Speaker 2: who is on... with Michael Bratton, that SEC podcast, he
- 27:51Speaker 2: just put an infograph out that says hype versus reality.
- 27:55Speaker 2: So Texas, hype or reality? Reality meaning they are who
- 28:00Speaker 2: we think they are, like they are what the media
- 28:03Speaker 2: perceives them to be. National championship contender, Arch Manning Heisman.
- 28:08Speaker 2: I saw something on one NFL team last night, the
- 28:11Speaker 2: March for Arch, number one pick.
- 28:16Speaker 1: You know, the one thing, it doesn't seem like, and
- 28:18Speaker 1: this is crazy, it doesn't seem like there's as much,
- 28:23Speaker 1: don't get me wrong, there's still a ton of hype
- 28:26Speaker 1: on Arch Manning, but it's his second year starting, it
- 28:31Speaker 1: doesn't seem like there's as much hype as last year,
- 28:34Speaker 1: which should not have been from the beginning anyway. So,
- 28:39Speaker 1: I want to say it's closer to reality, because this
- 28:42Speaker 1: is going to be a good team, but When you
- 28:45Speaker 1: still factor that in, when you're still putting all the
- 28:47Speaker 1: hype on Arch Manning, though. I don't know. But overall,
- 28:52Speaker 1: I still think they're closer to reality. But that makes
- 28:54Speaker 1: it so tough. The expectations, because all the Arch Manning hoopla.
- 29:00Speaker 2: Georgia, hyperreality.
- 29:04Speaker 1: Reality?
- 29:04Speaker 2: Yeah, I think so. LSU.
- 29:08Speaker 1: I think it's closer to reality.
- 29:10Speaker 2: Ole Miss, hyperreality. I'm not asking J.C., i know what
- 29:14Speaker 2: he would.
- 29:14Speaker 1: Say uh closer to hype i'll say.
- 29:21Speaker 2: This one's for joe camario taylor hype or reality.
- 29:27Speaker 1: I'll go closer to hype.
- 29:31Speaker 2: What about uh oh south carolina is definitely hype right
- 29:35Speaker 2: yeah auburn hype you were quick on that one.
- 29:39Speaker 1: Constantly. And has there even been hype on Auburn?
- 29:43Speaker 2: I think there's optimism. You know, every time you churn
- 29:47Speaker 2: a new coach, there's a percentage of optimism. You know,
- 29:53Speaker 2: I think when you went from Sylvester Croom to Dan Mullen,
- 29:57Speaker 2: the optimism was pretty darn high, right? Joe Moorhead, the
- 30:02Speaker 2: hype was there because of the, quote, offensive prowess coming
- 30:08Speaker 2: from Penn State, size your ring up, all that stuff.
- 30:10Speaker 2: But that's all it was, was hype. You know, and
- 30:14Speaker 2: Ole Miss hired Lane Kiffin. That was a hype, but
- 30:17Speaker 2: then there was reality that came with it. All right.
- 30:21Speaker 2: Mississippi State and Louisiana Tech have agreed on a matchup
- 30:24Speaker 2: in Starkville for the 2028 football season. This game is
- 30:27Speaker 2: set for September 16, 2028, replaces a previously scheduled road
- 30:31Speaker 2: matchup for Mississippi State against Memphis. That's reported on by
- 30:35Speaker 2: Robbie Falk with State 1878. Also, Pete Nacos lists college
- 30:41Speaker 2: football's highest paid quarterbacks. We'll get into that list, what
- 30:44Speaker 2: these numbers look like. At least 13 starting quarterbacks will
- 30:48Speaker 2: make upwards of $ 3 million this season in college football. Also,
- 30:55Speaker 2: Blaine Crane, Blaine Crane, with on three, has released his
- 30:59Speaker 2: SEC regular season predictions. He has Georgia and Texas at
- 31:03Speaker 2: the top. Well, actually, Georgia at 11-1. Texas, LSU, Ole Miss,
- 31:07Speaker 2: and Texas A & M at 10-2. That seems like
- 31:10Speaker 2: way too many 10-win teams. Oklahoma, Alabama, 9-3. Tennessee, 8-4. Auburn,
- 31:16Speaker 2: South Carolina, 2-7 in five teams. Missouri, Florida, 2-6 in six.
- 31:20Speaker 2: Mississippi State at 5-7. Kentucky, Vanderbilt, 4-8. And Arkansas at 2-10.
- 31:24Speaker 2: The one thing is pretty constant amongst everybody's predictions, Arkansas
- 31:29Speaker 2: at 2-10, Georgia anywhere from 11-1 to 10-2. We're brought
- 31:33Speaker 2: to you by Cowboy Maloney's 30 Minutes or Less professional

- 33:34Speaker 2: degrees on its axis. A little wopsided for a while.
- 33:39Speaker 2: Jake's back and Beaver is involved in the dialogue. Nice.
- 33:42Speaker 2: We are always involved in the dialogue. Aren't you?
- 33:48Speaker 1: Yeah, but sometimes it's a little too much. It's very
- 33:52Speaker 1: noticeable today. I can figure out these hosts. And I
- 33:55Speaker 1: say these hosts. And that means, you know, when the
- 33:58Speaker 1: midday guy actually decides to show up and do a show.
- 34:03Speaker 1: I mean, come on. Do a show. Kind of the
- 34:07Speaker 1: point of a radio station. But you can tell when
- 34:12Speaker 1: they bring me in this much. You maybe don't have,
- 34:15Speaker 1: you know, maybe don't have a lot.
- 34:17Speaker 2: Well, there's a whole lot.
- 34:17Speaker 1: And that's what's been going on today here, Jake.
- 34:20Speaker 2: So you think I don't have a lot.
- 34:21Speaker 1: Yeah. It's the feeling I'm getting today.
- 34:24Speaker 2: What I've got.
- 34:25Speaker 1: Asking me about double names. And then, you know, Joe blow.
- 34:29Speaker 1: Jabron over here is like, Oh, this, this, this is irrelevant.
- 34:33Speaker 1: And all that business going on today.
- 34:36Speaker 2: I just like to get your opinion. I value your opinion.
- 34:40Speaker 2: It doesn't mean that I don't have stuff to talk about.
- 34:42Speaker 2: So you have the microphone. I have, We share the platform, right?
- 34:46Speaker 2: You don't want to share the platform, though. See, I
- 34:48Speaker 2: try to feed you chicken, and you don't want chicken.
- 34:51Speaker 2: How about that? Is it fresh chicken, or is it
- 34:54Speaker 2: out of the garbage? Well, I'm not going to Chris
- 34:57Speaker 2: Brooks you. I'm not going to do that. Let's see.
- 34:58Speaker 2: Jason in Flagstaff. William Henry McKenzie IV. That kid's birthright
- 35:04Speaker 2: just has to be beheading folks at 25 miles per
- 35:07Speaker 2: hour from the back of a running horse. Probably so.
- 35:11Speaker 2: All right, the SEC, people are waiting to see what
- 35:14Speaker 2: comes out of these SEC meetings today and tomorrow. The
- 35:17Speaker 2: Big Ten has already stepped up and said, hey, we're
- 35:19Speaker 2: not allowing NFL players to come back, and there will
- 35:23Speaker 2: be a suspension for coaches, and there will be a
- 35:27Speaker 2: fine on the universities. The SEC presidents did put a
- 35:31Speaker 2: statement out last night that said after a Monday evening
- 35:35Speaker 2: video conference, the presidents and chancellors of the Southeastern Conference
- 35:38Speaker 2: said The conference is issuing the following statement. College athletics
- 35:41Speaker 2: and college athletes, not former professional athletes, have been the
- 35:45Speaker 2: heart of the Southeastern Conference. Individuals who choose to leave
- 35:48Speaker 2: college athletics, sign professional playing contracts, and compete professionally should
- 35:54Speaker 2: not then be permitted to return to college competition. Allowing
- 35:58Speaker 2: that to occur will blur the lines between college and
- 36:00Speaker 2: professional sports, creating significant competitive equity concerns. and reduce opportunities
- 36:07Speaker 2: for high school and current college athletes. College sports are
- 36:11Speaker 2: for college athletes. The current confusion around national eligibility standards
- 36:16Speaker 2: emphasizes the need to advance the Protect College Sports Act. Now,
- 36:21Speaker 2: everything in here was right, except the SEC now all
- 36:23Speaker 2: of a sudden toting the line for this College Sports Act,
- 36:26Speaker 2: which is not going to happen. But the SEC, I
- 36:29Speaker 2: would assume they're going to come out with a statement
- 36:31Speaker 2: after reading that, and they will have a strong stance
- 36:34Speaker 2: on this. Ross Dellinger reporting one track star now needs $ 30, 000
- 36:38Speaker 2: in a loan. A football's a footballers SEC roster spot
- 36:42Speaker 2: was yanked. A soccer athlete is searching for a pro
- 36:45Speaker 2: bono lawyer. The eligibility fiasco has thrust lives into upheaval
- 36:51Speaker 2: and is pitting a league against its own school. It's
- 36:53Speaker 2: a mess. So, uh, this is, uh, we'll get into
- 36:56Speaker 2: this courtesy of Ross Dellinger and Dellinger talking about the
- 36:59Speaker 2: big 12, who was also considering a league wide policy
- 37:03Speaker 2: ban on pro players. Uh, returning to the conference, meaning
- 37:07Speaker 2: that all four power leagues are now set to consider
- 37:09Speaker 2: such a rule as we get ready to kick off
- 37:12Speaker 2: this season. It says, important to note that league-wide rules
- 37:16Speaker 2: do not absolve a conference from legal challenges. In fact,
- 37:20Speaker 2: conferences will likely now be sued by athletes as defendants
- 37:25Speaker 2: in separate lawsuits or added as defendants in existing lawsuits
- 37:29Speaker 2: many times in front of the same judges. So yes,
- 37:33Speaker 2: these conferences probably already know this. They put these laws
- 37:36Speaker 2: in place. They're likely going to get sued as well.
- 37:39Speaker 2: Dellinger also adds, if and when this happens, the conferences
- 37:42Speaker 2: are enjoined from enforcing their league-wide policies. The conference commissioners
- 37:47Speaker 2: and or their presidents will then need to determine how
- 37:52Speaker 2: aggressive they will be on sanctioning schools directly for playing
- 37:57Speaker 2: an ineligible athlete. And again, the ACC is also considering
- 38:03Speaker 2: a pro-player ban policy. Soon. It just says soon. NFL news.
- 38:10Speaker 2: Jamar Chase landed awkwardly today on a deep out, a
- 38:15Speaker 2: deep route, out route, and comes up grabbing his knee.
- 38:18Speaker 2: I don't know how bad it is. Nobody knows, but
- 38:20Speaker 2: he looks like he's in pretty bad pain. So hopefully
- 38:23Speaker 2: he is not out for the Bengals. And the Arizona
- 38:26Speaker 2: Cardinals and their center, Jolte Froholt, agreed to a two-year
- 38:33Speaker 2: $ 20 million contract extension, keeping him in the fall through 2028.
- 38:37Speaker 2: So more contracts are coming in in the NFL. And
- 38:40Speaker 2: Lane Kiffin has spoken. LSU's Lane Kiffin said that conferences
- 38:46Speaker 2: can't pick and choose the court orders they want to
- 38:48Speaker 2: follow after discussing banning NFL players. Quote, doesn't work like that.
- 38:53Speaker 2: You can't decide. Hey, I like the injunction. Hey, I
- 38:57Speaker 2: don't like that one. That play, I kind of like.
- 39:00Speaker 2: And I like the way they got him eligible. So
- 39:02Speaker 2: we're going to follow those rules, not these. It doesn't work,
- 39:06Speaker 2: he says on Pat McAfee. So Kiffin is visibly angry,
- 39:12Speaker 2: it sounds like, about these rules coming down on pro players.
- 39:15Speaker 2: And again, I'm going to tell you, a combination of coaches,
- 39:19Speaker 2: Will Wade, Lane Kiffin, Kim Mulkey at LSU.
- 39:23Speaker 4: I don't know that.
- 39:24Speaker 2: You could get any weirder than those those guys and
- 39:28Speaker 2: girls but that is a weird weird deal there but
- 39:31Speaker 2: lane kiffin uh not happy with the sec uh also
- 39:35Speaker 2: sec leaders are meeting as lsu's push to add former
- 39:40Speaker 2: nfl players divides the league Big Ten bans returns on these,
- 39:45Speaker 2: as does the ACC meets tomorrow. One SEC athletics director
- 39:50Speaker 2: said LSU should face disqualifications or a $ 1 million fine
- 39:54Speaker 2: if either of these players, if any of these players
- 39:58Speaker 2: play for LSU, something has to be done. This is
- 40:00Speaker 2: the worst that I've ever seen. So you've got people
- 40:03Speaker 2: in the SEC already calling for LSU, if they do this,
- 40:07Speaker 2: to be disqualified from playoff or conference runs and to
- 40:11Speaker 2: be fined. Hour 2, brought to you by Maristar Casino,
