- 0:19It's time for the truth be told with Booker Scott.
- 0:22When you look at the numbers, it's not even close.
- 0:26The vast majority of Americans want you to prove who you are before you vote in a federal election.
- 0:33It's common sense.
- 0:35You should be a citizen of the United States before you get to vote.
- 0:39But for whatever reason, the Save Act has not passed for nearly two years in the House and Senate of the United States of America.
- 0:48I'm Booker Scott, and this is the truth be told on America Outloud Talk Radio.
- 0:53Thank you for joining us here.
- 0:54We have made it to the end of another week.
- 0:57And don't forget to take us along with you all weekend long.
- 1:00Brand new programs are available here at America Out Loud Talk Radio all weekend long, Saturday and Sunday.
- 1:06So make sure you take us along with you.
- 1:08Let's get into the Save Act, because everybody has been talking about it for eight months.
- 1:14Eight months, it's been strong on social media.
- 1:18People have gone after members of Congress in the House and in the Senate.
- 1:23It passed this week in the House of Representatives barely by one vote.
- 1:27It passed there.
- 1:28And now it moves on to the Senate.
- 1:30It has passed in the House several times.
- 1:32It has never been brought for a vote in the Senate.
- 1:35It would take 60 votes to pass.
- 1:37There's been much conversation about nuking the filibuster, which I think would be the worst decision ever in American political history.
- 1:45I don't want to see it go away.
- 1:47But a lot of people want this SAVE Act.
- 1:49What does the SAVE Act do?
- 1:51Well, it would require people to provide proof of citizenship in person when they register to vote in federal elections.
- 2:00It also adds additional requirement that voters should show uh approved form of photo identification when they go vote.
- 2:10When you layer state laws for getting a driver's license and state laws for elections, most states already require these things.
- 2:20I think there's 36 in total.
- 2:23About 19 states this would affect the Save Act would affect.
- 2:28And in most of those 19 states, it is by far a Democrat blue state.
- 2:33It's two to one in registrations, a ratio of two to one in registration, Democrat to Republican.
- 2:40You're talking about states like California, Illinois, New York, those types of states do not have the requirements that the SAVE Act is going to provide if it passes the Senate.
- 2:51That has been the problem.
- 2:53It passed in 2024 in the House, and it sat there in the Senate.
- 2:58It passed again, and it sat there in the Senate.
- 3:02They found that there were some things missing with mail in voting, and there's some additional requirements in the newest Save Act that was passed that would secure mail and voting.
- 3:13And I think that's a good thing.
- 3:15Had they passed it by nuking the filibuster just two months ago, we would have gotten a bill that was not really good enough.
- 3:24So I'm glad the filibuster was not nuked for a bill, the save act previously.
- 3:29Well, the Republicans have argued the legislation is needed to safeguard elections and prevent non-citizens from voting.
- 3:37Something data shows is very rare, is what they say.
- 3:42I don't know how rare it would be in the future when you have 15 million illegals here in this country.
- 3:47I posed a question on social media yesterday, and it was just a question.
- 3:52Have you ever considered if every illegal was deported, would we still need the Save Act?
- 3:59And a lot of people didn't understand the question.
- 4:01I'm just asking you to consider that thought.
- 4:09Some people responded, Well, yes, of course, because it also cleans up voter roles in states, and that's an important part of it.
- 4:16But I still just pose the question.
- 4:18Would we even be having the discussion had laws not been broken to allow 15 million people into this country?
- 4:25So the solution for this is to add another law and hope that somewhere along the way somebody may start enforcing the laws that are created.
- 4:3618 USC 611.
- 4:38It is a law that is on the books that prevents illegals from voting.
- 4:43If you vote in an election and you are illegal, and I'm talking about federal elections because local state elections, some of those allow illegals to vote.
- 4:52But when it comes to a member of the House, a Senate member, or a presidential election, illegals cannot vote.
- 5:00That's really the only thing that Congress can get involved with because of the elections clause in the Constitution.
- 5:07Election laws are left to the states because of that.
- 5:10But 18 USC 611, it has been, it has been enforced and prosecuted 35 people over the last 21 years.
- 5:21That's the law for uh uh illegals and voting.
- 5:25It's there.
- 5:26It's yeah, you go to prison if you vote in an election and you are an illegal thirty-five times in twenty-one years.
- 5:34That is a law that they made.
- 5:36It's not being enforced.
- 5:38I think we can all agree that more than 35 illegals.
- 5:42I think we all can agree that more than 35 illegals have voted in an election for uh a federal office, whether it be the Senate, the House of Representatives, or the President, in 21 years.
- 5:55But we've only enforced it 35.
- 5:57So I guess the answer to this is another law.
- 5:59The new law is the Save Act.
- 6:01Let me get back on track here with the Save Act.
- 6:03And by the way, I support the Save Act.
- 6:06I think it's a great idea.
- 6:07I hope that it passes.
- 6:09We need it.
- 6:10Let me say that, because some people think that I'm against it.
- 6:13I am not against it.
- 6:15The poll numbers clearly show that Americans want this.
- 6:19It clearly shows that Americans 75-80%, regardless of sex, gender, race, any of those things.
- 6:28People want you to prove who you are before you vote.
- 6:31The Democrats are going to try to hold this up.
- 6:33And in fact, we can't even get John Thune, the leader of the Senate, to agree to bring this for a vote, but it's getting closer.
- 6:41It's getting closer and closer.
- 6:43Senator Mike Lee from Utah, he put this out on Thursday.
- 6:47He says that the number now is up to about 48, maybe 49 U.S.
- 6:53Senators that would vote for the Save Act.
- 6:56You would have to have 50 plus J.D.
- 6:59Vance.
- 6:59There are a few Republican holdouts still.
- 7:03You still have to get to 51.
- 7:05This vote would take 60 unless you nuke the filibuster.
- 7:09And again, I will say it.
- 7:11I am against nuking the filibuster at all costs.
- 7:15But there is a way to do this without nuking the filibuster.
- 7:19And that's what I want to talk about here.
- 7:21Because a lot of people don't understand how the Senate works, and there's a lot of frustration around it.
- 7:29They just want John Thune to bring it for a vote.
- 7:32Well, if he did, and if he did at any time over the last year and a half, or Mitch McConnell before him, it would have failed in the Senate.
- 7:40It wouldn't have been close.
- 7:41But now we are close, as Senator Mike Lee said.
- 7:44We have 48, maybe 49 Republican senators that would support the new Save Act.
- 7:51So how do you do it without nuking the filibuster?
- 7:55What about a talking filibuster?
- 7:57That's the way things used to be done.
- 8:00You used to have to stand up and talk for hours and hours.
- 8:04And that's what they're talking about doing.
- 8:06A talking filibuster is the original and historical way of ending debate in the Senate.
- 8:12The Senate operates on the foundation of unlimited debate, meaning there is no way to prevent senators from debating a bill until they are satisfied with every part of it.
- 8:23And then they put it to a vote.
- 8:25Debate in the Senate only ends when there is unanimous agreement that everyone, every senator, 100 of them, has had his or her say.
- 8:36That's the rules.
- 8:37There are 44 rules in the Senate, and then there's something called precedent.
- 8:42Precedent changes the rules, and I'll get into that in just a few minutes.
- 8:47But because everybody can speak until they've had their say, a senator or group of senators could theoretically hold the floor and talk indefinitely to prevent debate from ending, and moving on to a vote eventually.
- 9:03Well, from 1806 to 1917, the only way to end debate in the Senate was for senators just to shut up.
- 9:12When was the last time you ever saw a senator shut up?
- 9:15That doesn't happen.
- 9:17Well, they use something called cloture.
- 9:20That's a mechanism.
- 9:21You probably have heard that.
- 9:23In 1917, the Senate adopted a new rule that added cloture as two-thirds majority.
- 9:30That was changed in 1975 down to 60, which is where it is now.
- 9:35That's 60 number.
- 9:36And it's important to note that the addition of clotter did not eliminate the traditional or original practice of limitless debate.
- 9:46They never shut up, which could result in a talking filibuster.
- 9:50The ability to filibuster by endlessly talking on the Senate floor is still a part of the Senate rules.
- 9:58It's never been changed.
- 9:59But it
- 10:00Is currently not used because of the cloture mechanism.
- 10:05Clouter can end debate on a matter and move toward a final vote, most notably to overcome that filibuster.
- 10:14Clouter limits debate.
- 10:15It ends it.
- 10:16It just stops it.
- 10:17When a bill or another measure is being considered in the Senate, a senator by tradition and practice, the majority leader or maybe the bill's author.
- 10:26They file a cloture petition, and it must be signed by at least sixteen senators.
- 10:32Once the petition is filed, the Senate cannot vote on the cloture petition until two calendar days have passed.
- 10:40For most bills in the Senate, Clooter requires 60 votes to be invoked.
- 10:45Exceptions include reconciliation bills like the big beautiful bill.
- 10:48That's an that's one of those.
- 10:50Recision is another one, only 51 votes.
- 10:53After cloture is invoked, there are additional 30 hours of debate on the bill, and each senator can speak for up to one hour during uh the time, and and he can add amendments and as long as they are related to that bill.
- 11:09Once all post-cloudure debate time has expired, the final vote on the bill takes place at a simple majority of 51.
- 11:17That is with that cloture.
- 11:19Now you may ask, well, is a talking filibuster the nuclear option?
- 11:23Well, it's not.
- 11:24The talking filibuster is already allowed under the Senate rules, and it has been since 1806.
- 11:31The rule that allows cloture was not added to the Senate rules until 1917.
- 11:37And the modern version of cloture wasn't part of the Senate rules, and as I mentioned, uh it was put into place in 1975.
- 11:45The nuclear option is the Senate deciding to operate in opposition to or contravention of the standing rules of the Senate.
- 11:55This is done by the Senate agreeing to set new precedent by which it operates, and that would be nuking the filibuster.
- 12:03It has happened.
- 12:04Harry Reid and the Democrats did it in 2013.
- 12:07They did it for the purpose of lower federal court judges, and they did it for confirmations for appointments to the cabinet.
- 12:15In 2017, Mitch McConnell, he nuked the filibuster for Supreme Court justices.
- 12:22And now it only takes 51 to have a Supreme Court justice.
- 12:26The result of that would be uh Katanji Jackson Brown is a Supreme Court justice because the Democrats held power when she came before them for confirmation, and it only took 51 to get her in.
- 12:40Now, how does this talking filibuster work and what would happen?
- 12:45Because this is a way the Republicans can pass the Save Act with only 51.
- 12:50The current Senate majority could pass the Save Act without ending filibuster doing this.
- 12:56The majority leader would make the Save Act the pending business before the Senate.
- 13:01He would not file a cloture petition as he normally would.
- 13:05Once the Save Act is pending business of the Senate, debate can begin immediately.
- 13:12However, however, per standing Senate rule, Senators are limited to two speeches per legislative day on the same question during the debate on that bill.
- 13:23A legislative day is not a calendar day.
- 13:26It's not a period beginning when the Senate convenes or ends or adjourns.
- 13:31Legislative days do not align with the calendar.
- 13:34This is something to understand.
- 13:36This could take a while.
- 13:37A single legislative day can last several days, weeks, or even months.
- 13:43In this scenario, the legislative day would last as long as debate continues on the Save Act and through a vote on the bill.
- 13:52So once they start a talking filibuster, that is the day that the bill was introduced, and it does not stop until they shut up.
- 14:01Senators don't shut up.
- 14:03Remember, everyone can have their say.
- 14:07This becomes a weared down session.
- 14:10Can the Democrats continue to talk and talk and talk for days and weeks and months?
- 14:17That would be the debate.
- 14:18That is how this would happen.
- 14:20This means that all 47, 48 Democrat senators in the minority, should they oppose this bill, John Fetterman of Pennsylvania does not.
- 14:29They would have two definite times to speak on the Save Act.
- 14:34And each time period could last several days, weeks, or months, depending on the Senator's stamina.
- 14:41However, the Senator cannot eat, cannot drink other than water in the rules.
- 14:48However, there is precedent that has been set that you can drink milk.
- 14:52That's it.
- 14:52They can't go to the bathroom.
- 14:54They have to stand and continue to talk.
- 14:57And they can do that for as long as they want to.
- 15:00And 47 Democrat members, they can do that.
- 15:03So this could take a while.
- 15:05And throughout this filibuster, senators opposed to the bill would they would try several different tactics to derail the bill.
- 15:12And it includes calling on votes and motions to adjourn, requesting votes on amendments, and conducting a quorum call.
- 15:20And this was an interesting one.
- 15:22This forces all senators to the Senate floor to be counted as present.
- 15:28So if you can imagine at two o'clock in the morning, Corey Booker's up there talking and he calls for a quorum call.
- 15:35That means all the Republicans, they have to be handy.
- 15:38They have to be in the building.
- 15:39They have to come and they have to be present.
- 15:43Republican senators in the majority must stay or or be near the Senate floor to be present as long as this lasts.
- 15:51Ultimately, the talking filibuster on the Save Act would end with either all of the opposing Democrat senators using up their two speeches or one side giving up due to exhaustion.
- 16:05If the Republican majority can outlast the Democrat minority, which could take weeks, by the way, or can exhaust enough Democrat senators to the point of signing a cloture petition to end debate.
- 16:18Well, then that would also take 60 votes, but then you have the other Democrats coming on to help the Republicans.
- 16:27And that's how it all may work, to pass the Save Act in the Senate.
- 16:32This is all up to John Thune and how he does this.
- 16:36If he presents the bill and he doesn't present cloture, this is what's going to happen.
- 16:42It's going to be a long process.
- 17:18Now let's look at what happens when the Save Act passes.
- 17:23Because I believe that you're going to have 19 states lined up to sue.
- 17:27I believe the expectation of a lot of people is this may help in the midterm in 2026, and it will not, because those states will sue under the elections clause that says, well, you know, it's up to the states to determine how elections are run.
- 17:43And it's going to meander through court.
- 17:45Eventually it will end up in the Supreme Court of the United States.
- 17:49Maybe they will have oral arguments in 2027.
- 17:54Maybe they'll come to a decision before the 28 election for the President of the United States.
- 18:00Maybe by 28, but probably by 30.
- 18:04That's what we can expect from the Save Act.
- 18:07Should it pass in the Senate?
- 18:08It's going to take some time to get through the courts.
- 18:11So for people that have an expectation that this Save Act is going to do something to prevent illegals from voting in the upcoming midterm election, it's just not just not the fact.
- 18:23And as I mentioned, when you layer state laws with election laws, most of the states that the Save Act would really help, they are heavily Democrat states.
- 18:34It's two to one.
- 18:36Cleaning up the voter rolls, I think it's important.
- 18:39We don't want dead people voting.
- 18:41We don't want hundreds of people that uh say their addresses in a gas station voting either.
- 18:46Those things have to be cleaned up.
- 18:48The Save Act would do that.
- 18:49Let's keep an eye on it.
- 18:51This is going to be really, really interesting.
- 18:53I I can't wait to watch how John Thune and the Senate do it if they think they have enough votes at 50 to get the help of J.D.
- 19:02Vance to pass the Save Act with 51.

- 23:15You're in the black community, the Hispanic community.
- 23:19There is no American community.
- 23:22What's wrong with being an American first?
- 23:26Oh, you can't say that, can you?
- 23:28I recently came across a post by Laverne Spicer.
- 23:32You may recognize her name.
- 23:33She's a big social media influencer.
- 23:35She's also run for Congress and is running right now in the 24th Congressional District in Miami.
- 23:42She's not affiliated with any party this time.
- 23:45But she is running against Frederica Wilson down in South Florida.
- 23:50I'm gonna play her post for you.
- 23:52Some of it may be offensive to you, but I think her message is very important.
- 23:59We're gonna have a conversation with her in just a minute.
- 24:01But first, here is her social media post.
- 24:05Hi, I'm Laverne Spicer.
- 24:07And I read a post yesterday on X where someone was talking about it's okay to start calling black people niggas.
- 24:17People don't do that.
- 24:19That's just so disrespectful.
- 24:22It's like you walk around and you see a white person, you're gonna call them a cracker.
- 24:27Or if you see a Hispanic person, you're gonna call them a wet bag.
- 24:31Uh and you're gonna go walk up to black people that you don't know and call them a nigger.
- 24:36Oh, I would I really wouldn't advise anybody to do that, not less you really want to get up on the bullshit and tilt.
- 24:44Don't do it.
- 24:45Do not do it.
- 24:46We have come so far as people.
- 24:49I mean, for the first time in history, we have black people that are out here that are representing the GOP, and we are doing positive things in our community to uplift each other.
- 25:03So let's not go as bat was by doing dumb shit like that.
- 25:07That's uncalled for and really unnecessary.
- 25:10Because what you're gonna do, you're gonna drive that wedge in against that vote votive base.
- 25:17So do not do that.
- 25:18Do not do it.
- 25:19You know, we've come so far as people, just don't do that.
- 25:23So I'm saying this to say, let's have some R E S P E C T, y'all.
- 25:30Let's get this shit together and let's do better as people.
- 25:34We got a f country to say.
- 25:37It's no longer whites against black and all that bullshit that used to go down like that.
- 25:41It's no longer that kind of shit.
- 25:43Because we got a whole influx of illegals that are here that are gonna take over this country while we still on the elementary level doing dumb shit.
- 25:55So let's get past the dumb shit and let's get Trump elected.
- 25:59Let's get him in office so we can restore this country back to the way it needs to be.
- 26:05And let and remember, risk let's respect each other, let's respect each other.
- 26:10Don't let people talk y'all into doing dumb shit that's gonna get your that's gonna get a foot stuff straight up your ass.
- 26:17Don't do it.
- 26:18Take it from me, Laverne Spicer.
- 26:20I know my shit.
- 26:22So there you have Laverne Spicer sharing some real feelings on a social media post on X.
- 26:27And we have her now here with us as a guest.
- 26:30Laverne, welcome to the program.
- 26:33Thank you so much for inviting me on.
- 26:36Well, that was quite spirited, but I think it and actually I don't even think.
- 26:41I know that it comes from your heart, and there is a good reason that you did that.
- 26:46Can you can you tell us what what motivated you to make the post?
- 26:51What was it that you saw?
- 26:52What was that social media post that you said, okay, this is ridiculous.
- 26:56We're not gonna have this.
- 26:57Well, someone brought it to my attention that um the Hajj twins had did a um podcast, and they were saying to people it's okay for people to call black people the N-word.
- 27:12Yeah.
- 27:13And um, you know, and when they said it to me, it just didn't set well with me in my spirit.
- 27:20Yeah, it's not okay.
- 27:22Why why is that okay?
- 27:23Why does anybody think that's okay now?
- 27:25It's not okay.
- 27:26And then on top of that, um, someone that I had worked with last year when I was running for Congress.
- 27:34I also saw this person on Facebook.
- 27:38Uh not Facebook on X, teaching their baby, uh baby.
- 27:44That's about seven seven and eight months.
- 27:47How to say the N-word.
- 27:50And of all people, I was like, okay, why would she do that?
- 27:55You know, why?
- 27:56What's the purpose?
- 27:58How why would you raise kids and teach them to hate someone based on their color of their skin?
- 28:08Yeah.
- 28:08So you know, every they just push a great divide these days.
- 28:14And I I didn't like it.
- 28:16So I said, okay, I got to do something about this.
- 28:20Yeah.
- 28:20And they are.
- 28:21That's what this is all about.
- 28:22And I think you made some great points.
- 28:25We gotta we have to quit doing what we're doing because we are playing right into their playbook.
- 28:30They want us divided, whether it's race and gender, transgender, LGBTQ community.
- 28:36They want all these little communities that feel like they are oppressed instead of having us united.
- 28:43Because if we are united, they can't stop us, and they know that.
- 28:48But we are stopping ourselves because we are allowing ourselves to be divided over stupid things.
- 28:54Right, exactly.
- 28:56And we all know that the Democratic Party has used the race card for years, especially, you know, with the black community, um, so far as relating to the GOPO, they are racist, all of them are racist, and that's the car that they use because um, they know they're not doing nothing for the black community at all.
- 29:17So they use that to try to make up and cover the fact that you know, once you vote for them, and once they're elected, doesn't matter.
- 29:25They don't be a bad, they don't help.
- 29:27They do nothing, they do absolutely nothing.
- 29:30So that's why they use the race car all the time, and they're using that to divide us, and we can't allow that to happen.
- 29:38I feel like we've come too far as people, and with everything that's taking place in this country right about now, it's just uh distraction.
- 29:48And you bring up the illegal immigrants that have come across the southern border, and uh you're you're bringing attention to the fact that we need to see them maybe not as an enemy but as
- 30:00A threat to our way of life and the American way of life, the American dream, and it's affecting all of us, regardless of whether you're Hispanic, you're black or you're white, whatever it is, it is having uh an effect on all of us.
- 30:14And I think that was something else that you said too, wasn't it?
- 30:17Yes, I did say that because the Biden administration is putting those illegals first.
- 30:22I mean, if they're in Chicago, they're giving them 10,000 a month, a place to stay, a car, and all everything else.
- 30:30And the same thing with New York, they're giving them $5,000 a month, a place to stay, a car.
- 30:35They're helping these people get on their feet while we still have veterans that are homeless, staying in the streets.
- 30:44We got the seniors that have worked all of their life and still can't find a place to stay that are staying in the streets.
- 30:52You know, we should take care of America to come first.
- 30:57The people in this country that have worked and pay their dues into society should be the ones that come first and not these illegals that are just leaving their countries, and then you see them all the time on social media, they get them a place to stay, and they are complaining about it.
- 31:13Yeah, they're not happy with that.
- 31:16So if they're not happy with that, why come here in the first place to try to oppress us?
- 31:22Yeah, go back to where you came from.
- 31:24Yeah, yeah.
- 31:24Go back to where you came from.
- 31:26You already sucking the life out of our subsidies and not our system.
- 31:30I mean, the healthcare system and every other system, they getting everything when the people that have worked and paid away can't even get it.
- 31:38Yeah, I think you bring up a great.
- 31:48And the Biden administration and Bidenomics has made that even harder on especially the people you're talking about.
- 31:54When you're talking about low-income or fixed income people, it's killed them.
- 31:58It's crushed them.
- 31:59And yeah, the middle class is shrinking, but the people that need the most help are hurting the most, aren't they?
- 32:06And really, that's what we need to focus our attention on.
- 32:09It's it's not the names that we call each other.
- 32:12It's not the division that they are trying to put on us.
- 32:16It's us coming together to overwhelm the ballot box on November 5th.
- 32:21That's that's what it's all about, so that we can get this country back on track.
- 32:24And I think you made a brilliant point in your post.
- 32:28Oh, thank you so much.
- 32:29And that's absolutely true, because you know, the Biden administration has basically destroyed everything that was going well in this country.
- 32:38We have gases at an all-time high, uh, food, yeah, food almost like triple up, you know, so people can't even afford to buy food out of the grocery store.
- 32:48A lot of people can't afford to eat, don't even know how they're gonna eat while we giving everything to these people that are coming here, just crossing the border.
- 32:57So the Biden administration has like just put this country in total turmoil, and that's why it's so important come November that everybody show up to the polls and just don't come by yourself, bring other people with you.
- 33:13We all need to make sure that we vote, you know.
- 33:15We can't just sit back and say, well, so and Trump is gonna win.
- 33:19No, we can't, we can't do that.
- 33:21We got to come out and record numbers and make sure that we vote them out.
- 33:27That's the only way.
- 33:29We know it's no way that 81 million people voted for him.
- 33:32How do we get the happening?
- 33:34Laverne, how do we get the message out to the people uh that are undecided?
- 33:40How to how do we make that message about Donald Trump and not just Donald Trump, but a conservative way of doing things that is better than what we are living in right now?
- 33:50How does that message go out to those people to make them come vote and vote for Donald Trump on November 5th?
- 33:57Have you given that any thought?
- 33:59Well, one thing that I see taking place now is uh, you know, people that were really passive about their thoughts and and and about voting in the first place are really getting involved in politics right about now.
- 34:14You know, everybody is watching.
- 34:15I don't I don't know who could just sit back and agree with what they see taking place in this country right about now.
- 34:22I mean, we got so many issues.
- 34:24Look at the trans issue.
- 34:25Look at the books that they putting in the library uh for these uh elementary kids uh to read.
- 34:33It it it is it's a total disaster.
- 34:36I mean, who would even support something like that?
- 34:38And uh, let alone the sex change um thing that they're trying to uh put in schools, you know, so far as giving kids the right to make that type of decision when you have to be 18 to buy cigarettes, you gotta be 21 to buy alcohol, but they want to give a kid that's five years old the right to make a gender change uh on their body.
- 35:07So we got, you know, we got people trying to take away our rights, our freedom of speech, the second amendment rights.
- 35:14We got all types of things that uh are taking place in this country.
- 35:19So now it's not the time to just sit back, you know.
- 35:23You got we need everybody need to be taking a stand.
- 35:26Yeah, yeah.
- 35:27Everybody needs to be standing up right about now.
- 35:30And you need to get loud too.
- 35:32People I think they have been too quiet over the last three or four or five years.
- 35:36And maybe they haven't been awake, but or maybe there's been a fear to say anything because they didn't want to ruffle anyone's feathers.
- 35:43Well, it's time to ruffle feathers, I believe, before it's too late.
- 35:46And you know, you and I are about the same age, and I have never really in my life seen systemic racism, but that's another thing that the Democrats throw out all the time.
- 35:57Systemic racism.
- 35:59And I I just don't see evidence of it.
- 36:01In fact, I put a post out this week that said there are now 62 members of Congress that are black from the black community.
- 36:09That is a record.
- 36:11It is, and it's only a record because of black people representing majority white districts.
- 36:18If it was a systemic racist country, that would not be the case.
- 36:2362 members of Congress are now black.
- 36:27That says a lot.
- 36:28It doesn't match with the story that the Democrats try to say when it's they say it's systemic racism.
- 36:35And I know through my life at 58 years old, it's just not what I saw.
- 36:39And we're about the same age, we're both Gen Xers.
- 36:42And I don't think you saw that either, did you, Laverne?
- 36:45Well, one thing that I did see is uh for the politicians that are black and pushing their race narrative.
- 36:52The strangest thing is that all of them are married to white people, Mala Harris, married to a white man.
- 36:58Um, the same one, Miss Beetlejuice that was the uh mayor in Chicago, married to a white woman, Beetlejuice, Lightfoot, mayor Lightfoot.
- 37:07Yeah, you got it, bingo.
- 37:10So all of them, all of them that are pushing that narrative are married to white people.
- 37:16Yeah, that's strange.
- 37:19You know, doing the same thing, all of them, all of them.
- 37:22They say one thing with their mouth, but of course, we that read and we that are on point with everything, we know what is going on out here.
- 37:32So we see the handwriting on the wall.
- 37:35So they saying one thing, but they're doing another.
- 37:38Laverne, do you sense a pendulum is changing?
- 37:41Is it swinging back toward the conservative side right now?
- 37:44Can you feel that momentum?
- 37:46Uh, the momentum is is oh, it's moving.
- 37:49It is here, people.
- 37:51It is moving, and I can tell you that because the first time I ran for Congress in 2020 as a conservative on my ex-platform.
- 38:01Um, people were always in my inbox, calling me all type of names.
- 38:05How could you do that?
- 38:06How could you lead the Democratic Party?
- 38:09You are Sambo and you are this and you are that.
- 38:13Now, every platform that I'm on.
- 38:16I hear so many people say, Yes, I'm supporting the Republican Party.
- 38:21I am a conservative, and these are black people.
- 38:25These are black people that I'm seeing expressing themselves that way.
- 38:30And that's because so many of us came forward and we said, listen, it's time out for believing the Democrats' lies.
- 38:38We have been lied to as people for years.
- 38:41You know, it started with that project system with Lyndon B.
- 38:45Johnson when they started those projects that destroyed the black community, took the fathers out of the home.
- 38:52And then we got a career politician, Joe Biden that's been in office for 47 years, and him and Clinton, they did the one, two, three strikes, you're out.
- 39:03Yeah, uh, the crime bill, they helped the incarcerate so many black people, and we could go on and on with this, you know.
- 39:10Yeah, so all of this is contributing to the fact that black people are finally waking up because one thing Trump let us know that the news media was reporting so many, so much uh fake news.
- 39:27And they were showing us what they wanted us to believe.
- 39:30Yeah, they was telling us things the way they wanted us to see it.
- 39:34So we had basically been hoodwinked and bamboozled.
- 39:37So right about now, people are opening up their eyes, they're doing their due diligence, they're searching for knowledge, wisdom, and understanding.
- 39:48So hopefully, hopefully they will continue to do so.
- 39:53And we, because as a conservative, we all be we believe in God.
- 39:57We believe in God, putting God first.
- 39:59We believe.
- 40:00Families, you know, we'd be gr leaving generational creating generational wealth and everything else.
- 40:07So, you know, how can you not want to be a conservative at the end of the day?
- 40:13Yeah.
- 40:14Laverne, thank you for the conversation.
- 40:16It's been wonderful.
- 40:17And I think you just said it perfectly.
- 40:20And I'm not going to add anything to it because I will ruin what you just said.
- 40:24But in your video, you said uh respect, and you spelled it out, R E S P E C T.
- 40:30Yeah.
- 40:31And there is time for some respect for the American people.
- 40:35Not people in boxes, not in that box, this box, all of us together.
- 40:40It's time to unite, come together and make a difference in this country.
- 40:45And you know, when I when I saw that video, I heard you say that.
- 40:48It reminded me of Aretha Franklin's respect.
- 40:52So I'm going to go into this commercial break with Aretha Franklin because of you.
- 40:57What about that?
- 40:59Okay, that's wonderful.
- 41:01Thank you, Laverne.
- 41:02I appreciate you coming on.
- 41:03Thank you.
- 41:04Thank you so much for inviting me.
- 41:08What you want?
- 41:09Hey.
- 41:12What you need!
- 41:16Oh, respect for the castle!
- 41:21Hey, man, just land it!

- 43:45America Out Loud Doc News is that place to awaken your heart, soul, and mind to the Altbow.
- 44:04I'm originally from Nashville, Tennessee.
- 44:06I've mentioned that a couple of times.
- 44:08When I was a young child, I was in Nashville and in Brentwood, just south of Nashville.
- 44:13And my dad, for whatever reason, I still to this day don't know, probably will never find out.
- 44:18He's been dead for six years now.
- 44:21So I won't be able to ask him at this time anyway.
- 44:25Maybe one day, maybe, maybe one day.
- 44:27But I never found out why exactly he wanted to farm because he is from Chicago.
- 44:32He was from Chicago, Illinois, had no experience on a farm, but that's what we did.
- 44:36We bought 11 acres, and it was in a bedroom community called Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
- 44:41It's about 25 miles southeast on the way to Chattanooga from Nashville, and that's where I finished growing up.
- 44:48Elementary school, middle school, high school, even went to college there.
- 44:52Back then it was a university town, Middle Tennessee State University is there.
- 44:56It was a sleepy little town, really.
- 44:58It was a small community.
- 45:00It was a great place to grow up.
- 45:01I loved it.
- 45:02And I still have a lot of friends there.
- 45:04I still follow them on Facebook.
- 45:07And I also follow the local radio station.
- 45:09And that's where I'm going to go with this segment because of the program that was on Sunday night that caught my attention.
- 45:16Have you heard about uh 287G?
- 45:19Do you know what that is?
- 45:20Section 287G of the U.S.
- 45:22Immigration and Nationality Act.
- 45:25Well, it authorizes the Department of Homeland Security to deputize selected state and local law enforcement officers to enforce federal immigration law.
- 45:37So in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, which is Rutherford County, which by the way, it has grown a lot since I grew up there.
- 45:44We moved there in 1976, I believe.
- 45:47And it like I said, it was a sleepy little town.
- 45:50A nice little country town is what it was.
- 45:53Now it's huge.
- 45:54It is exploded.
- 45:55Nashville has exploded, and so has Murfreesboro and Rutherford County.
- 46:00It is now the third largest county in the state of Tennessee.
- 46:03You have Memphis, Shelby County, Nashville, Davidson County.
- 46:07They're one and two, and then you have Rutherford County.
- 46:09Murfreesboro is number three, actually larger than Chattanooga and larger than Knoxville, a couple of other big cities there in the state of Tennessee.
- 46:18The Rutherford County Sheriff is Mike Fitchw, and he has said that he would never use his deputies to go after illegal immigrants.
- 46:26That's what he said.
- 46:27But then there was a little change in the last couple of weeks there in Rutherford County in Murfreesboro with this section 287G.
- 46:35Sheriff Fitch you has agreed to this 287 G, which would allow when they arrest an illegal immigrant, and there is a detainer for them by ice that they will hold the illegal immigrant.
- 46:49To me, it's a no-brainer.
- 46:51It makes perfect sense.
- 46:52Why would you not be for that?
- 46:54If this were a regular criminal, let's say that it was someone that had committed murder in Montana, would Sheriff Fitch you and his deputies not hold that person for extradition to Montana?
- 47:08Of course they would.
- 47:10So if you have an illegal immigrant that is a criminal, which at this point, that's really all Donald Trump and the DHS and ICE are rounding up.
- 47:19They're not rounding up children in schools.
- 47:21That's not what they're doing.
- 47:23They're not rounding up just illegal immigrants at this point.
- 47:27They're rounding up the criminals, the ones that have murdered, the ones that have raped.
- 47:32That's who they're trying to get off the street.
- 47:34For the life of me, I can't understand why anyone wouldn't want that.
- 47:38Just because they're illegal immigrants, for some reason they want to give these people a pass.
- 47:43That's what the left is saying.
- 47:45And when I went to Facebook and I came across this story, it was a live radio program in my former hometown of Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
- 47:54And Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Rutherford County, voted heavily for Donald Trump in the 2024 election.
- 48:01It was 6040, 60% Donald Trump, 40% for Kamala Harris.
- 48:06Close to it.
- 48:07It was a blowout.
- 48:09There's no doubt that Rutherford County, Tennessee is a red county.
- 48:13It is also Donald Trump County.
- 48:16It is a MAGA county.
- 48:17That's really what it is.
- 48:19So when I came across this story and this show, I was shocked at what I heard.
- 48:25I'm going to play some of this for you because I think it's important for us to understand the other perspective and what the other side is saying.
- 48:33Because what they are saying is nothing like I'm saying.
- 48:36I say this all the time about illegal immigrants.
- 48:39It's time for them to go.
- 48:41We need to get these criminals out of here.
- 48:43And it needs to be done now.
- 48:46So when people start talking the way these guys did, and what really what they're doing is calling Sheriff FitzU onto the carpet for making an agreement with the Homeland Security in this 287 G.
- 48:59They don't want their deputies to hold criminal illegal aliens in their jail.
- 49:05But I was shocked at what I heard on this local small radio station in Murfreesboro, Tennessee from Ed Raymer is the guy's name who does the show on Sunday night.
- 49:17Along with him was the Democrat National Committee chairman for Rutherford County.
- 49:22His name is Matt Fee.
- 49:25And here he is talking about what happened two weeks ago when Fitchw said, we're not going to do this.
- 49:31We're not going to have our deputies going after illegal immigrants.
- 49:35And then the activism that they created to get people to show up to a council meeting, county government meeting to try to make their voices heard so that the sheriff would not do this agreement.
- 49:49Here is the DNC chairman in the county of Rutherford County, Tennessee.
- 49:53His name is Matt Fee.
- 49:55I think I noticed a social media post from someone that said, hey, Rutherford.
- 50:00Rutherford County is now pending a 287G agreement with ICE.
- 50:05Right.
- 50:05Um, so just so everybody knows a 287G is basically like uh it it gives local police uh ability to do uh work for ice in you know, either as themselves or in the jail or whatever.
- 50:24Um you know, so having noticed that, you know, that was the first time it had come up.
- 50:30I don't know how long it had been pending, but basically you can go to ICE's website and you can see all of the you know law enforcement agencies that are pending any kind of agreement with ICE or all the ones that are actually active.
- 50:43And it was nose.
- 50:44Excuse me.
- 50:45You know, Rutherford County is now showing pending for a warrant service officer.
- 50:49Okay.
- 50:50Um so I mentioned, hey, you know, if you want to say something about it, there's a public safety meeting coming up on Monday.
- 50:58You know, let's go there and say you want to talk about the sheriff's report.
- 51:02Sure.
- 51:03And so that's how we got there.
- 51:05Um, there was multiple groups involved, um, especially uh remix remix TN, they're like an immigrant um you know, the advocacy.
- 51:16Um, and they did a lot of work with coordinating and getting people to sign up for public comment at that meeting.
- 51:23So they go to the public meeting and they make comments.
- 51:26Everybody that spoke was against this two eighty-seven G.
- 51:30If you go to ICE.gov slash identify and arrest.
- 51:36If you go to that website, you will see every state and county and city that is involved with ICE and the 287G agreement.
- 51:46I can tell you this.
- 51:48I'm looking at the map now.
- 51:49California, Oregon, Washington, and Illinois.
- 51:54Those are four states that have no agreement with ICE.
- 51:58That is not surprising.
- 51:59You also have a little bit of Delaware, a little bit of Vermont, the entire state of Connecticut, the entire state of New Jersey.
- 52:07All of those states have no agreement with ICE, which means these illegal immigrants that are committing crimes and have committed crimes where they came from, are running free in these states, and these states are doing nothing to help Donald Trump and ICE get these people out of here.
- 52:24But I want to go back to the radio show on 1450 WGNS in Murfreesboro.
- 52:29Listen to the comments now from Ed Raymer as they continue the conversation.
- 52:35Here's here's the rub.
- 52:37At the public safety meeting, as we mentioned, everyone, though those that spoke all against this.
- 52:43Now, what we're talking about with ICE, we're talking about the guys that are coming in with the mask.
- 52:47And they don't have to have they don't have to have a reason to my knowledge.
- 52:51They can come in and just pick you up and take you off and I guess do what they want.
- 52:57Okay, that's a lie.
- 52:58That's not true, and I don't even know why Ed Raymer on this radio show is saying that.
- 53:03He doesn't know what he's talking about, and he probably shouldn't be talking about it.
- 53:07Both of these guys are leftists, they're Democrats, again, in a city and a county that was heavily favoring Donald Trump in the 2024 election.
- 53:17The things that he says are important to understand from the perspective of the left and what they are saying against Donald Trump and the things that his administration is doing.
- 53:28You hear him say that these ICE people are wearing the masks.
- 53:32You know, it's obvious that they watch MSNBC because that's the narrative that they are teaching people over there.
- 53:39Well, they're wearing masks.
- 53:40I've covered it on the show before, so that they are not killed.
- 53:44It's for their protection, is what it's for.
- 53:47Let's go back to Ed Raymer.
- 53:48He is the host of the show.
- 53:50Let's let him run his mouth a little bit more.
- 53:52Trump has given them where to do this.
- 53:55Somebody they're going to fool around, someone's gonna get hurt.
- 53:57Yeah.
- 53:57Okay.
- 53:58Um basically we don't know who these people are.
- 54:03Right.
- 54:04We're to my knowledge, they're a bunch of thugs.
- 54:06He's talking about ice there.
- 54:08We don't know who these people are.
- 54:10Well, let me tell you who they are, Ed Raymer and WGNS.
- 54:15They are federal law enforcement officers.
- 54:19They have gone through training, they have gone through background checks, they are wearing masks so that other people don't try to hurt them because leftist liberal, stupid democrats in some of these cities have tried to hurt them.
- 54:32They have doxxed them.
- 54:34Politicians have doxxed them.
- 54:36So why wouldn't they wear a mask?
- 54:38They are not thugs, they are federal law enforcement officials, and what you're talking about, Ed Raymer and WGNS is dangerous.
- 54:48You are dangerous, not Donald Trump and not ICE.
- 54:52So here so here's the thing, right?
- 54:53And we were talking about this a little bit earlier before we came on the air.
- 54:58And listen how much Matt Fee uses the word right.
- 55:02I talked about it last week about a linguistic tie-down.
- 55:05When someone isn't confident in what they're saying, or they're trying to sell you something, they will use right in a rhetorical way.
- 55:13This guy has a real problem with it.
- 55:15He can't say two sentences without saying right, which is a tie-down to further the conversation on something that you don't know what you're really talking about, and you're just trying to sell something to someone.
- 55:26Here he goes.
- 55:34To my knowledge, what that means is that if someone is brought into the Rutherford County jail and ICE has a civil warrant against that person, then Rutherford County Sheriff's deputies can serve that warrant on that person in the jail.
- 55:50Right.
- 55:51Whereas before, ICE would have to come and do that themselves.
- 55:54Okay.
- 55:55Okay.
- 55:55So even though it may be let's call it the least of the bad options in these two eighty-seven G agreements with ICE.
- 56:04To me, the fact of the matter is that Rutherford County is entering into an agreement with ICE.
- 56:10I don't care what model it is.
- 56:13I don't care that you're, you know, whether it's the one that sends deputies out into the community to do, you know, task force work.
- 56:21Right.
- 56:22I don't want that one.
- 56:23I don't want them doing anything on ICE behalf.
- 56:26Why not?
- 56:26Why wouldn't you want your local police officials working with ICE to get those criminals out of your community?
- 56:34It makes no sense.
- 56:35We see that Minnesota now is working with ICE.
- 56:38Tom Holman mentioned Thursday that they are bringing ICE out.
- 56:42The surge is over in Minneapolis.
- 56:45They have surged in Los Angeles, in Memphis, in Washington, D.C., Portland, Oregon, and where they have crime has come down.
- 56:532025 was the lowest crime year in American history.
- 56:58It's working.
- 56:59So why not work with them?
- 57:01I don't understand it.
- 57:02Thank you for joining us tonight and every night.
- 57:05Have yourself a great weekend.
- 57:06Don't forget to take us along with you over the weekend.

- 57:23And salt without flavor, it has no value.
- 57:25So whatever you do, keep being salty.
- 57:28Have a great night.
- 57:31You've been listening to The Truth Be Told with Booker Scott on America Out Loud.
