- 0:33Hello, and welcome to bfy tw's first episode of Pole Position. This
- 0:41is a game show that we have devised that's all about having the right answer
- 0:46when you're in the right place at the right time, and the game starts
- 0:51right now. Aggie. What spirit combines with raisins to make a traditional ice
- 0:58cream flavor? Vodka rum rum? Stevie? How many US states have Dakota
- 1:07in their name? Two? That's correct, Lauren. If you end a
- 1:11feud, you are said to do what with the hatchet? Barry it?
- 1:17That's correct. Russ Motown Records took its name from motor Town, the nickname
- 1:23for what US city. That is correct, Aggie. In China, what
- 1:30mode of transport is a junk boat? That's correct, Stevie. Garter stitch
- 1:38and stocking stitch are two forms of what handicraft? Crostitgen incorrect? Knitting damn?
- 1:46Lauren? In Diy what material is normally used to fill and seal the
- 1:51gap between wall tiles? Colk no grout? Russ? What Sports Where?
- 2:00Company was formed in the nineteen forties by Adolph Addie Dassler incorrect, Adidas Damn
- 2:10it Aggie, who composed the stage musical Cats Dog Andrew Lloyd Webber Stevie.
- 2:19In two thousand and five, David Furnish entered into a civil partnership with what
- 2:23singer at Elton John Damn Lauren. In fairy tales, what animal is often
- 2:29described as big and bad A wolf? Correct russ? During photosynthesis? What
- 2:36gas is converted into oxygen and sugars? I totally do. That's at one
- 2:42point in life time the answer would have been carbon dioxide. All right,
- 2:52That is the end of our qualifying round. So stressful. Why would you
- 2:58start an episode like that because I could? So. Basically, our players
- 3:04have just determined in what order they're going to be able to pick their position
- 3:08for the first round of our game, and position is really important. Only
- 3:13the player in pole position gets to answer questions, and the player who gives
- 3:17me the fourth correct answer of this round is going to go through to the
- 3:22final round where they can win up to one hundred dollars for their charity.
- 3:27But if the player in poll position gets a question wrong, they go to
- 3:30the back of the line and everybody else moves forward. So where you start
- 3:36this round is really important, and the qualifying round just determines who gets to
- 3:40pick. When Lauren, you had two right more than anybody else, so
- 3:45you get to pick your position first. Would you like to start in pole
- 3:49position? Or would you like to start in second? Third? Or at
- 3:52the back? I would like to start at number two. Lauren starts in
- 3:57the second position, so the rest of you all got one correct. So
- 4:00I'm just gonna go in the random ortar that was selected at the beginning of
- 4:04the show. So Aggie, you would be next up in that case,
- 4:08Where would you like to start pole position? Third or at the back?
- 4:11I'll go to the back. Aggie goes directly to the back. Yesh,
- 4:15Stevie? Or next? Would you like to take pole position or third?
- 4:18Stevie wants the pole, He gets the pole and Russ. That means,
- 4:21by a process of elimination, you are stuck in third position, but that
- 4:26might be the place to be. We'll find out. Let's get started,
- 4:30shall we. We're gonna do four, at least four questions. I'm looking
- 4:33for the fourth correct answer. That's the one that counts. Stevie. We're
- 4:38gonna start with you, and here's your question, Stevie, where are fine
- 4:45cracks known as kraka lure most likely to be seen crack a lure spelled cr
- 4:50a que lu r e on paintings, on roof tiles, on windshield on
- 5:00X rays. I am going to say, I have no freaking idea.
- 5:08This is hard. Um. Crack a lure. Crack a lure sounds so
- 5:13made up. Um. My first instinct was, actually, there's something I
- 5:17had to do, volcanic or something with the Earth. That's the first thing
- 5:19that came to my mind. And then after that was a krackings. But
- 5:24um, so I think I'm got to go in between the two of them,
- 5:28between the Earth and a crackings. But yeah, okay, I forgot
- 5:31what the answers were on paintings, on roof tiles, on windshields, on
- 5:39X rays. I'm gonna go with the paintings. You're gonna go with painting,
- 5:42correct sir? All right? What does everybody think? I see Russ
- 5:46nodding. Yeah, I mean, I don't have any idea. But when
- 5:48I first got instinct was paintings. All right, well, let's find out.
- 5:53Is on paintings the right answer? Yeah, yeah, absolutely right,
- 6:06that is fair. It's correct answer number one. Well, done. All
- 6:12right, nobody switches positions. Everybody stays right where they are. Here is
- 6:15your next question in world geography? Oh god, what is Italy's second largest
- 6:24island after Sicily? Is it Capri, Sardinia, Hanza or Stromboli. I
- 6:35wish it was Stromboli, My whole country of strombolism man growing up in Sicily,
- 6:43and I'm a Stromboli right next door. Um, I'm gonna go with
- 6:47oh Man, that is difficult. What was the first one? You said?
- 6:49Kart Capri? Capri? Capri sounds right, they do a lot of
- 6:55wine in there, so I'm gonna go with Capri. You're locking in capric
- 6:59Yeah, that's all right? Okay, Yeah, does anybody else have any
- 7:01opinions? Mine, I guess would have been Sardinia. Okay, well let's
- 7:08see. Is Capri the correct answer? No? Sorry it Well done Lauren
- 7:27forgetting that right. But as it happens, you have to leave pole position
- 7:30and head to the back. So we've had one correct answer. We're looking
- 7:34for three more, and Lauren has joined us in pole position. Hi Lauren,
- 7:39Hello, how are you doing today? Welcome? Lauren is the host
- 7:43of the beard Al Podcast, a fantastic weird El podcast that I absolutely one
- 7:46thousand percent recommend listening to. It is just a lot of fun and I'm
- 7:50so glad you're here to be here. And you know I'm half Polish,
- 7:54so I'm comfortable being in the pole position. All right, perfect, Well,
- 8:00are you ready for your first question? Hi? Sure, Hoaxel,
- 8:03Let's do it. Here is your question in Shakespeare? Which Shakespearean character says,
- 8:09the better part of valor is discretion? Falstaff, Hamlet, Mercutio or
- 8:18Shylock. The better part of valor is discretion? Um, I don't think
- 8:30it's Shylock. Um, so what we had Falstaff, Falstack, Hamlet,
- 8:35Mercutio and Shylock. I'm gonna go I'm unlock in Falstaff. Falstaff? All
- 8:41right, Falstaff is locked in. Stevie's nodding his head. I thought it
- 8:46was Marcuccio, a right, Romeo Julie, because he was always trying to
- 8:48keep him his cousin safe and shit. And I think his whole point was
- 8:52the well, we'll find out is the correct answer? Falstaff? Yep,
- 9:05absolutely right. Two correct answers down. We are just two away from locking
- 9:13someone into the final round. Lauren, you just need two more correct.
- 9:16Let's go y. Here is your next question. In words, someone described
- 9:24as chipper is what angry? Happy, hungry or lazy? Happy? You
- 9:33did sound pretty comfortable with that. A lot of lights people are really happy
- 9:37with themselves. Stevie just quietly raising, which doesn't work on a podcast.
- 9:50Yeah, I'm happy you're locking in happy. Okay, I think that's a
- 9:54wise decision. Let's see is happy the correct answer? Yeah, of course,
- 10:07well done. This is it. There's been three correct answers. We
- 10:13just need a fourth. So, Lauren, you could be going straight into
- 10:16the final round if you can get this right. Here is your next question.
- 10:24In books, the best selling self help book What Color is Your Parachute
- 10:31is a guide for people hoping to do what find love, get a job,
- 10:39jump out of planes, lose weight. Okay, it's obviously not to
- 10:52jump out of planes because that's a little too on the nose. There,
- 10:56Fine, love, get a job, or lose weight? You know what?
- 11:00I Oh god, I haven't read this. I'm not a self help
- 11:03book person. I am just rambling now, I really am just rambling.
- 11:09What color is your enjoying it? We're all enjoying it, and so like,
- 11:16okay, like what color is your parachute. That's kind of like,
- 11:18okay, what is your backup plan? Like, what are you going to
- 11:22what are you going to do? I'm going to go get a job,
- 11:24get a job. Okay, yeah, do you want to lock that in?
- 11:28I sure, yeah, I got nothing better. Okay. If this
- 11:33is correct, you are going straight through to be our first finalist and have
- 11:39a shot at winning the jackpot for your charity. If not, to the
- 11:41back of the line with you, I have a I have a quick question
- 11:46recording. So what kind of companion program do you? Guys? Offered life
- 11:50for spouses? So, like, let's say Lauren does go. This is
- 11:54hypothetical, but if she wanted to bring a spouse, you would have to
- 12:00pass the qualification process saying that she would. So I'm afraid she can't just
- 12:05grandfather you in. Yeah that's my plan for Roggy. Come on, man,
- 12:09get me in there, all right? Sorry? Good word for me?
- 12:15Is the correct answer? Get a job? Yep? Just like that?
- 12:30Hello done? Wow, Just like that, Lauren is straight into the
- 12:35final round. She is going to have a shot at winning the jackpot for
- 12:39her charity. The rest of you guys are going to have to work a
- 12:41little bit harder, but we'll see how you do right after this. Hey
- 12:56you there, We've got a question for you. Are you tired of clickbait
- 13:00stories and the loudest voices driving discussions and culture and entertainment. If so,

- 14:09Welcome back. It's our first episode in pole position. I'd say things are
- 14:13going pretty smoothingly. Lauren got through our first round, and he's great into
- 14:18the final. We have three players left, so we're going to play our
- 14:22second round. The third correct answer of this round sends the player in pole
- 14:28position straight to the final round and gets them in. Everybody else is going
- 14:33to have to battle it out for one more round. So let's see.
- 14:37The first thing we have to do is pick your positions. You're going to
- 14:39get to choose based on how the last round ended. So when the last
- 14:43round ended, Russ, you were in second position, Aggie was in third
- 14:46and Stevie was at the back. So Russ, you get to choose where
- 14:50would you like to sit? Would you like to be in pole position,
- 14:52second position or at the back. I'm gonna go with number two again.
- 14:56Go with number two? All right? Worked word for long? Yeah,
- 15:03fair enough, Aggie. Where would you like to position yourself? Pole position
- 15:07or at the back? I'll go at the back again. Aggie goes to
- 15:13the back. It puts Stevie in the pole position again. Yes, in
- 15:18correct answers, All right, Stevie, we'll see, we'll see. Let's
- 15:22move on. It's time for another regular question, Stevie. In words,
- 15:28a key pal is a person with whom one becomes friendly by exchanging what emails,
- 15:37home addresses, keys, or phone numbers. I swear to God if
- 15:43I choose keys and it's not keys, I'm gonna be extremely upset with you.
- 15:48It was key right in the first word, The word is a key
- 15:52pal. Key pal is a person with whom one becomes friendly by exchanging What
- 15:58is this? Simple? Guys, If a might just an idiot, I
- 16:02really want to choose key. Before he started reading the choices, I was
- 16:07like, key, right, It's like this is a It's either key or
- 16:19The options are emails, home addresses, keys, or phone numbers. It's
- 16:27gotta be address. Right. He's fucking with me, all right, But
- 16:36if I'm wrong, I don't get me mad because I should about kid.
- 16:37I'm just like, like an idiot. So I'm gonna have to go with
- 16:40key because if the worst comes, the worst, Aaron's the assid and I'm
- 16:42just choosing what normal people would use. I appreciate your attempt at deflection.
- 16:48Thank you didn't work. So are you locking that in? Yeah? All
- 16:52right, We're going with key is the correct answer keys? Uh? Does
- 17:07anybody have any idea what the correct answer is? Emails? It was emails,
- 17:11yeah, because because it comes from pen Pal, and people use pens
- 17:15to write letters. You use the keys on a keyboard to write emails.
- 17:19An idiot and they need to be shamed horrible. Well, in any event,
- 17:26that is another question we can throw away. We're still looking for three
- 17:29correct answers, and Russ comes to the pole position. Hi, Russ,
- 17:33are doing man, welcome aint except for trick questions. Well, we'll see
- 17:42if you're smarter than Stevie. Uh. Russ is a host of the h
- 17:52Wow that my brain just completely quit on me. Wow fu you and your
- 17:56music apparently something something group. I can't remember what infectious group. Thank you
- 18:00brain. I knew I could get there. I knew it was an eye
- 18:04word and I knew it was like ten letters long. I just couldn't remember
- 18:07what word it was. I was like impressive group. Sorry, Russ,
- 18:15you can go ahead whatever you want to fix it all good. You want
- 18:17to go back and do it, do you No, I'm just gonna allot
- 18:19him. I'm gonna live with the shame. I'm gonna live with this editing
- 18:22it. I know, Russ. Just tell our listeners at home what you're
- 18:26all about. I know, or at least I believe you said you were
- 18:29transitioning more to YouTube kind of thing. Yeah, we're doing a lot more
- 18:32YouTube content. So if you go to YouTube and look for infectious group of
- 18:34music, you'll find it over there. And the extremely short pitch on our
- 18:37show is there are enough hot takes and negativity being spread around the world to
- 18:42everything we do is all positive. That means there's plenty of music out there
- 18:45we don't like. There's plenty of artists we don't like, but we don't
- 18:48feel the need to talk about it. So we just talked about artists and
- 18:52songs and albums that we like. And if you han't like those two,
- 18:55awesome and if you don't, then you know, do the same thing we
- 18:56do. Just skip over it and check the next episode or video or music
- 19:00on YouTube is your best bet. Go subscribe. It's genius. Uh and
- 19:06I have, believe it or not, listened to many episodes and watch many
- 19:10of your videos, especially the ones where you two come together, and your
- 19:14music choices are just like like, I just get introduced to so much that
- 19:18I've never even heard of. Awesome And by the way, Lauren has a
- 19:23video coming for you within the next couple of weeks where she did the first
- 19:27five songs she would tell someone to listen to by Rush that nice. Oh,
- 19:34Lauren, you're gonna win this game. I'm just telling you right now,
- 19:41in any of it, you can't win this round. Uh So we're
- 19:44going to carry on, Russ. We're still looking for three correct answers.
- 19:48Let's see you can give me all three. We're gonna start with your first
- 19:51question. In famous families, what relation is Jane Fonda to Bridget Fonda aunt?
- 20:02Grandmother, mother, or sister? Yeah? No, I don't know
- 20:11if anybody else. I guess I think she's hurt yet. I think I'm
- 20:15going I'm getting the most shocking look of I have no idea in my life
- 20:22makes me out to me for help. So I'm gonna say, I think
- 20:26it's Aunt. You're locking in Aunt. D okay, CB has no idea?
- 20:33Also found it for no one who remembers was a She was a thing
- 20:40for a very short period of time in the nineteen nineties. I personally thought
- 20:45she deserved better, But I agree, I'm saying that's who she was.
- 20:49Like, do you have all right? So is aunt correct? Yep?
- 21:03On the money? Exactly right? Well done, very nice? All right,
- 21:08that's one correct answer, down, two to go. Here is your
- 21:11next question, Russ. In words in a common phrase, what is separated
- 21:22from the chaff, barley, hops, oats or wheat? I have a
- 21:32beer expert in the ring. I'm married too. She is saying she's not
- 21:37supposed to be helping you. But I guess I didn't stop it. I
- 21:42didn't say at the start of the show you weren't allowed to say that.
- 21:45I wasn't gonna say I did it, said the sacred word, and I
- 21:52get up on the stage. The words come to life because because of Tod
- 22:00Grayson over here, I will say wheat locking it in? Yes, okay,
- 22:04uh, Steve yogie, any idea or you agree, I will agree.
- 22:10I'm pretty sure I've heard some art too. Yeah. Yeah, So
- 22:11is wheat the correct answer? Yep? Absolutely right? Oh thank god.
- 22:25Here that's from the babble that is two down, one to go. I
- 22:30don't think that's where I heard it from. If you get this next question
- 22:33right, you are straight into the final round with Lauren Russ. And here
- 22:37is your question. In world geography, which which of these is an Australian
- 22:45mining city situated on one of the world's richest deposits of silver, lead and
- 22:52zinc, broken height, broken hill, broken hole, or broken can hump.
- 23:04Everybody everybody started laughing, starts. I'm gonna say two things. One,
- 23:11I have no idea what the answer is. Number Two, just for
- 23:15the lulls, I broken hole. You're locking in broken hole, just immediately,
- 23:22I am locking in a broken hole. Okay, reparation. It does
- 23:27feel good on the hole, all right? To get into the final round?
- 23:36Is it broken hole? No, I'm sorry it was a broken hole.
- 23:48It was it was broken hill. That's too obvious. Well, broken
- 23:57hole. I genuinely wish it had been broken hump. But in any event,
- 24:02Russ, I'm afraid since you got that wrong, you are going to
- 24:04the back of the line, which means, for the first time all game,
- 24:07it's Aggie's turn in pole position. How did I get here? Trying
- 24:15to avoid this the entire time. You literally could jump straight to the final
- 24:18round on one question. My god, but that's the whole point in the
- 24:22game. You just got to be in the right place at the right time.
- 24:25Soggy, do you want to do you want to say anything before we
- 24:29get started. I'm sorry it's about to happen. Um so you're big into
- 24:37D and D. Yeah, and you know, aside from the usual things
- 24:40on the channel. Um, so I guess I would ask like, is
- 24:42there a cool D and D thing that you've done lately? No, No,
- 24:48not at all, because here's a there's a thing about a D and
- 24:49D. It requires friends to have like availability. He's just going to stop
- 24:57it. Friends friends is step one. That friends with availability is step two.
- 25:03All right, fair enough, fair enough. I was just trying to
- 25:07do some kind of introsection for you. But that's okay, we'll just we'll
- 25:10just I thought I was gonna be at the back of line all day.
- 25:11In fact, that was almost were you almost were. Um in any event,
- 25:17Okay, so Augie two, just squeeze into the final round. Here
- 25:22is your question, and you're gonna love this category in sports, Which of
- 25:30these sports was invented first? Basketball, football, hockey, or volleyball?
- 25:42That was it football as in soccer or American from americanay or the other three?
- 25:52Basketball, football, hockey, volleyball. I think it's volleyball. Yeah,
- 26:00I'm pretty sure it's volleyball. I'm happy with that. Yeah, I'm
- 26:03good. I'm a lock into volleyball. Okay, he's locked it in,
- 26:07he cannot change it. Does anyone have any other ideas? I think basketball
- 26:12was invented in eighteen ninety four. Mm, that doesn't happen at all.
- 26:19Help because I don't know at the y MCA with like the America's first basketball
- 26:25team and it'said like eighteen ninety four sound familiar, StEB, you had a
- 26:30look on your fast like you wanted to say something. Yeah, I did.
- 26:33I don't anymore? All right, thanks for thanks for no podcast content.
- 26:41I really appreciate to say something, but I don't feel like enough.
- 26:42It wouldn't have been as funny as that one. It's not like we haven't
- 26:45been doing this for one hundred and eighty some un episodes. But you know,
- 26:48teach their own I guess, so, Aggy, let's find out is
- 26:56volleyball correct or no? No? I'm sorry. UM, I can actually
- 27:08give you the years. It's hockey. Hockey was invented in eighteen seventy five.
- 27:15What is known as American football slash rugby was invented between eighteen seventy six
- 27:21and eighteen eighty one. Basketball was eighteen ninety one, so really really really
- 27:26really close, and volleyball was the last to be advented eighteen ninety five after
- 27:33remember they invented to hockey right after they invented ice. Yeah, I was
- 27:36going completely by like concept of the sport, and I felt like volleyball was
- 27:40just like an early iteration of all just throwing ball over at age. I
- 27:47mean, I get, I get why you went with it, but sadly
- 27:48it was wrong. So you are moving to the back of the line and
- 27:52welcome back to pole positions. Stevie, Hey where you started, back to
- 27:57this day. Yeah, let the wed kind of fall. We just need
- 28:00one more correct answer, So let's do this, Stevie. Us is your
- 28:07question? In cars? Oh god, what's the highest selling car model of
- 28:15all time? Time? Ford? F Series, Honda Civic, Toyota,
- 28:22Corolla, Volkswagen Golf. He's thinking, oh, because the steam coming out,
- 28:36isn't I got warm? Real quick? What are you thinking? It's
- 28:40It's hard because I can't remember what the F series actually is for the Forward.
- 28:45I don't know if that's a Mustang or the True Oh, just all
- 28:48of the trucks. They just put it under one thing, the F Series.
- 28:51Holy shit, So that's a giant like range versus what was the third
- 28:56one. Toyota Corolla was the third one. Oh so that was a civil.
- 29:00I'm gonna go with the Ford F series because that's a whole series of
- 29:03different types of trucks versus like a civic. You have civics and then classes
- 29:07of civics and stuff. Okay, so just based on math, okay,
- 29:12which has always been your strong suit. Yes, adding is good. Are
- 29:15you are you locking in four D F series. I'm gonna lock in the
- 29:18four defth series. All right, it's locked in. Anyone else have any
- 29:22other ideas? That was my guest just because of commercial vehicles, Like there's
- 29:27so many commercial vehicles that are furd F series, and so that's what's a
- 29:32guest. I think it's the Civic. I don't know why that was the
- 29:36second one because that was like the while, but it's also like the most
- 29:40stolen car in America too, is the Civic because you get modded easy.
- 29:45All right, Well, let's see. Is Ford F series the right answer?
- 29:57Damn, nope, Sorry, it was the Toyota Corolla. Really call.
- 30:04The Corolla has sold over fifty million units since it's section. Wow.
- 30:11Yeah, okay, I was not expecting that at all. It is wild
- 30:15all right. Well, uh, we're cycling through again. Stevie to the
- 30:19back with you. Russ moves up to pull position, Aggie in the middle
- 30:22of Stevie in the back and Russ. Uh, it feels right that you
- 30:26should be allowed to go through because you got the first two right. We
- 30:30just need to get a third one. So let's see if you knock this
- 30:33one out of the park. Russ. Here is your question in food in
- 30:41Russian cuisine, Smetana is sour? What candy? Cream, fruit or juice?
- 30:55I don't know. I've gotta lock in candy for no reason whatsoever.
- 31:03Well, that was quick. He's locked in candy. I'm not going to
- 31:07talk my way through a better answer, you know what I mean? All
- 31:11right? Nah, and nobody appears to have any idea. All right,
- 31:15well let's see correct answer candy. Nope, sorry, the correct answer is
- 31:32cream. It's sour candy? Wow? Something? All right? Well,
- 31:38the cycle continues. Rust goes to Baggie comes up front, and Stevie moves
- 31:42to the middle, getting away with it. Oggy, this is your second
- 31:47attempt. He just won this one question. This has done like four wrong
- 31:52in a row. We need one correct answer. You can do it.
- 31:55You can do it. I got faith in you. Ready, gotta hit
- 31:56it right eventually? Right, all right, here is your question in biology.
- 32:04Which of these is not one of the five basic tastes? Spicy,
- 32:12sour? Sweet? Ou mommy, I'm pretty sure it's o, mommy,
- 32:25because it's taste, right. Yeah, I'm pretty sure. The incorrect one
- 32:30is, mommy, are you going to lock that in? Yeah? I
- 32:34think so. Okay, Russ is shaking his head. No, no,
- 32:40then I have no idea, no idea. You can taste sweets? And
- 32:46what was the other one? Sour? Yeah? The first one was what
- 32:51spicy? Yes, okay, Mommy's it's it's literally flavorless. All right,
- 33:02let's see is the correct answer? Ummmy, No, I'm sorry, what
- 33:17what's what was? Mommy's like the center of your tongue and I can't describe
- 33:23the taste, but I think you're right. It is mostly just like texture.
- 33:28But the others are sour, sweet, bitter, and I can't remember
- 33:31the last one, but it's not spicy, spicies the spicies the correct answer
- 33:36here, that's not one of the five basic tastes? Yeah, wow,
- 33:42wow, I thought that one was gonna be a gimme and I was wrong,
- 33:45so Stobe was up. The cycle continues. Come on, Stobee,
- 33:54we need somebody to join. Lauren. Here is your question in time?
- 34:00Oh god, an equinox takes place twice in what time period? A day,
- 34:08a month, a season, or a year. It's a seasons quarterly
- 34:20I'm assuming right, So that's coming on? Yeah, okay, what were
- 34:27the guests again? A day, a month, a season, or a
- 34:31year. I'm gonna go with season. You're gonna go with season. Correct,
- 34:37you're locking in a season? Yeah, okay, Russ, Laurence,
- 34:46Auggie, anybody any ideas? Yeah? Do you? I think it's actually
- 34:53a year? Aggie says a year, Laurence equinox, didn't you? Yeah,
- 35:00equinox like summer and winter equinoxes within the same year. Yes, yeah,
- 35:05so seasons. He literally named them both. Then there's more than one?
- 35:14Is the correct answer? Is the correct answer? A season? Are
- 35:29in there, Ladies and gentlemen, I have inadvertently put myself into hell.
- 35:36Yes, the question was an equinox happens twice in what period of time?
- 35:42Yeah, it happens twice in a year. You named them the summer and
- 35:45winter equinox. You're right, actually, always thinking what they were the spring,
- 35:52autumnal and vernal equinox. Yeah, that's that's more accurate. But it
- 35:58was funny that you named two of them and then was like there must be
- 36:01two a season, and I was like, yeah, what, no,
- 36:07no, And the cycle continues yet again. Come on, rush, you
- 36:13got us. We gotta get you through. We gotta get through. Hopefully.
- 36:20Yeah, I'm running out of questions. Hopefully this is something you'll know
- 36:22something about. Here is your question, Russ. In movies before digital recording,
- 36:30what was the standard width of film used in the movie industry eight millimeter,
- 36:37sixteen millimeter, twenty four millimeter or thirty five millimeter? Thirty five?
- 36:46Yeah, I'm going thirty five. All the reason why I'm saying thirty five,
- 36:52and I assume I'm right at this. I went to see Purple Rain
- 36:55in the theater once today were heavily advertising that it was an original thirty five
- 37:00to print, So right, maybe just Poople Rain was shot out thirty five
- 37:04millimeter, But that's what Do you want to lock that in? Do you
- 37:07want to lock that in? Okay, it's locked in, cannot be changed.
- 37:10Anyone have any other ideas? I know eight millimeters to handicam ones.
- 37:15But that's all I really remember. Okay, so probably not a standard for
- 37:20the industry. I didn't think so. All right, Well, nobody else
- 37:23appears to have much of a clue, so let's just go on to end
- 37:29this round and put Russ into the final round. Is the correct answer thirty
- 37:34five millimeter? Yes? Oh my god, yes, well, thank god
- 37:46for us? Is through? Very nice? Oh, absolutely right, fantastic
- 37:52job for us. You are through to the final round and you're going to
- 37:54have a shot at the jackpot. Well done, sir, So you did
- 37:59kind of getran fathered in a little for it, all right, So you
- 38:05will join Lauren in the final round to try and win as much money as
- 38:08you can for your charity. And the meanwhile, it's down to the dream
- 38:13Team. We're still here. There's just the two of you left and one
- 38:16place in the final round, so you're gonna have to fight for it for
- 38:22this round. The second correct answer goes through, I'm really tempted to make
- 38:28it the first. I'm gonna I'm gonna stick with it. I'm gonna stick
- 38:36with it. This was my dumbass idea and I'm just gonna roll with its.
- 38:39Three hours long. The second the second correct answer goes through. Augie,
- 38:45you were at the head of the line when Russ went through, so
- 38:46you get to pick your position first. Would you like to be pole positioned
- 38:50or at the back? And please remember that for this round, whoever's in
- 38:53back gets to choose the category of the question that the player in front is
- 38:58going to face. Yeah, you know, I think I'll stay up front
- 39:02this time. Yeah. Right. Aggie goes straight to pull position and Stevie
- 39:07takes the back. So, Stevie, you're gonna choose. Is Aggie going
- 39:10to face a question on plants or animals? Animals? Animals? It is
- 39:15all right, So Aggie, here is your first question in animals preying on
- 39:24insects, lizards, and snakes. What is the only entirely carnivorous primate baboon,
- 39:35chimpanzee, gorilla, tarsier trying to remember what the rules are, so
- 39:50I'm gonna say gorillas. You want to lock that in? Yeah, lock
- 39:53and girls. Okay, Stevie Sugars had a little bit on that one.
- 40:00I don't remember, but I thought, I don't know, I don't know
- 40:02anything. No, I know the correct answer, but I'm saying gorillas.
- 40:05Oh okay, you're deliberately getting it wrong. Yeah, isn't the second one
- 40:07who gets it right? Is the one? Yeah, but you need to
- 40:10get to two correct answers. I need the first one first, correct the
- 40:14first correct answer to get the second one. But if he if I get
- 40:16home, I guess you're right. All right, I mean it's locked in.
- 40:22You can't change it here. I thought I knew the rules. As
- 40:24it turns out, I really he just extended the game even further. If
- 40:29it's wrong, we'll see it could be right. Is the correct answer?
- 40:32The correct answer? Golla, I was trying to help you. I I
- 40:43got by the rules. There are days when I just really don't know.
- 40:52I can't finish that sentence literally pencil Saron starts his own and just gonna skip
- 41:00to the final round. Lauren and Rust the only ones who make it through.
- 41:07All right, Uh, Aggie, you're in the back, so you
- 41:08get to choose what category Stevie is gonna face. And here are your choices,
- 41:13Girl groups or public services. Jesus doesn't matter. Girl groups, girl
- 41:22groups? It is all right, And Stevie, here's your question. Uh.
- 41:27In girl groups, which of the Spice girls is the oldest baby spice,
- 41:35Ginger spice, Posh spice, or scary spice. I think I'm gonna
- 41:44go just based on Posh being all the makeup eating, heidy tidy, So
- 41:47she's gonna be the one trying to make herself look better than the other ones.
- 41:51So I'm gonna go with that one. Okay, you want to lock
- 41:54in posh spice, Sure, I know absolutely nothing about the spice girls.
- 41:59It's lock d anyone have another answer? Rust and here did here into his
- 42:08answer? Yes, I was going to recommend that he'd not do that.
- 42:13So that's my comment. Okay, Well, well let's see you said posh
- 42:23spice is the correct answer. Posh spice. No, we're gonna be here
- 42:36all day. Yeah, no, kid, that's his fault. Uh sorry,
- 42:39Lauren, what did you say? Is it ginger? It is ginger?
- 42:43Ginger is the oldest first choice. I totally get uh Stevie's reasoning,
- 42:47though, like like that she's like the one that's saying to all the cosmetics
- 42:51and everything. It's kind of like I'm trying to look young, you know,
- 42:52Like you almost sold me on it, and I knew that was a
- 42:55wrong answer. I almosto somebody else who doesn't give points away fucking baby?
- 43:05All right? Uh? Okay, so um we switchas agasition. I've mentally
- 43:14checked out already, Stan, would you like to explain the roles again to
- 43:21Augie world? Okay, the player who gives me the second correct answer goes
- 43:25through. So you want to be in pole position and hold it so that
- 43:29when you get to the second question, you get it right. You go
- 43:31through it. Got it, got it. But there has to be a
- 43:34first correct answer for us to get to the second one. So deliberately throwing
- 43:38away things that you know the works against the whole thing. I'm enjoying my
- 43:45complete mental breakdown, Stevie. The categories you can give to Augie or plants
- 43:50or movies? Plants, plants, it is Aggie. Here is your question.
- 43:54In plants, ecatia belongs to what family of plants? Daisy, lily,
- 44:05orchid or rose? Shit? Uh, this one, I actually know.
- 44:15I'm gonna go for lily. I think I think lily, all right?
- 44:22Locking that in, nobody looks super certain. Everyone kind of has a
- 44:25look of fuddlement. I don't like hunga are the powerhouses of the cell plants
- 44:32aren't? But inject something streak. We need to inject some intelligence into the
- 44:40show quick. Um, so you locked in, Lily? Is the correct
- 44:46answer? Lily, that one isn't my fault. I actually try that.
- 44:59That was that was That was genuinely one of the tougher questions in its back.
- 45:01The correct answer was, actually, Daisy, I have If you're not
- 45:07really familiar with that, Kasia, you're not going to get that. It
- 45:09sounds like a skin issue. Do you guys want to feel a little bit
- 45:15better? Here's a throwback. Um, you get a broken hole from a
- 45:19broken hump. There you go, There you go, Augie, you are
- 45:23going to the back, Stevie, you are jumping up front, Aggie.
- 45:28The categories you can give Stevie are movies in public services, movies, movies.
- 45:31It is, Uh, Stevie, here's your question. In movies.
- 45:37What nineteen thirty nine film had the tagline Garbo laughs, Anna Karenina Grand Hotel,
- 45:49Ninotchka, the Old Maid, the Grand Hotel. You said it was
- 45:57the third one. Uh, it's Anna Karenina, Uh, Grand Hotel,
- 46:01Ninatchka, the Old Maid. Yeah, hotels at home, and I've heard
- 46:07of and I don't know thirty nine. Yeah, I'm right, when color
- 46:12came out. So yeah, I'll go Grand Hotel. That sounds about right,
- 46:16Okay, Lauren gives a little nod, hopeful, hopeful, because we're
- 46:23still not off the ground here. We need a first correct answer interjected based
- 46:30on what you just said when he said color came out. So when I
- 46:34was a little kid, I thought that color was invented as a thing at
- 46:37one point. So I thought, like, the world wasn't black and white
- 46:40until color was invented. So when you watch movies and black and white TV
- 46:45shows, I thought the world used to be in black and white. And
- 46:47then some I genuinely thought the same thing. I think everybody did at some
- 46:52point. Yeah, it's never admitted it to me before. So you guys,
- 46:55are we done making you better? Now? Now we can let's see,
- 47:06Stevie, you said Grand Hotel and you locked it in right, all
- 47:08right? Is Grand Hotel the correct answer? Come on? Please? Please
- 47:14please? I really thought it was. It's like you have a one in
- 47:23four chance. You just keep hitting every other quadry. It's impressive, really
- 47:29well in the nineteen thirty nine, I think these were all nineteen The movie
- 47:35that had the techline gurl Garbo laughs is ninaka. I don't even know what
- 47:38that is. I mean know what that means? That was? That was
- 47:42another tough one in English. So we'll swap you one more time and Auggie
- 47:50and Stebe Stevie. The categories for Augie are public services and sports Public services
- 47:57Public services. Okay, Aggie, here's your question, Come on, man,
- 48:01in public services? What colors are fire trucks in Australia? Red and
- 48:12white? God damn it, red and yellow, red and blue or red
- 48:21and black? Broken hole is burning? Yeah, when broken hole is burning,
- 48:28what's gonna come rescue the red and white? Red and yellow, red
- 48:31and blue or red and black? Oh? Man? I feel like red
- 48:35and yellow makes sense because yellows caution, But I don't fucking know if they
- 48:38use yellow for a caution down there? Do you want to lock it in?
- 48:45Yeah? I lock it in. He's locking it in red and yellow.
- 48:50Some well, no facial expression at all from Russell Lawren So I have
- 48:53no idea, aside and no idea, no idea. We're all just kind
- 48:59of dead. Yeah, we want to move on. Let's move on.
- 49:01Please. Is red and yellow the correct answer? Yes? Yes? Yes,
- 49:15yes, yes, yes, absolutely right and good reasoning. Yes,
- 49:20of course it's red and yellow. Yeah, of course, absolutely brilliantly well
- 49:27done. All right, so here we go. This is it? One
- 49:30more correct answer and you go through. Yeah, just one more, just
- 49:36one more. You gotta do it, you gotta do it, You gotta
- 49:37do it, and you gotta do it quickly, because I'm losing my mind,
- 49:40Stevie. The categories are sports and exploration Jesus Christ, exploration, exploration
- 49:47it is, yeah, go ahead, here's your question and exploration? What
- 49:52nationality was the explorer Vasco de Gama? Is he a Spanish, Portuguese,
- 50:00French or Italian? What was his name again? Vasco da Gama Spanish,
- 50:13Portuguese, French, Italian? Might be Portuguese, I think in Portuguese.
- 50:23Do you want to lock that in? Yeah, Portuguese is locked in.
- 50:29Stevie's nodding his head. Yes, Yeah, that's what I thought too,
- 50:31but I have no memory of history class. So all right, yeah,
- 50:36because this is right, you will have finally gone two straight correct answers and
- 50:42into the final round. If you're wrong, this continues, you'renna think of
- 50:45a feat nob of w member his media? Is it Portuguese? Please?
- 50:52Just for the round y, Yes, absolutely right, very well done.
- 51:07Oh my god, Oh thank god I had extras on The public services question
- 51:15was the last one, man, I had to pull these out of the
- 51:19quick fire questions. I just laid up the three other things. I was
- 51:22like, I'm just gonna make up the options, which means Aggie is the
- 51:27third and final competitive to go through for the right final round and have a
- 51:30chance at the jackpot. Stevie, I'm sorry you are eliminated from the game,
- 51:35sir. That's quite all right. It was really fun to play and
- 51:37get one answer correct throughout the entire episode. Feel free to stick around and
- 51:40commentate. You cannot help anybody with the questions. I can't. I wouldn't
- 51:44be a help anyway, sir. Sole Me. I guess. In any
- 51:49event, Lauren, Russ and Aggie are through to the final round. They're
- 51:52gonna have a chance to win up to one hundred dollars for their chosen charity.
- 51:54To do that, they're gonna have to win the final round, be
- 51:58in the pole position at the right place the right time. Which one of
- 52:00them is going to take that jackpot home? And how much are they gonna
- 52:04win? Find out right after this. Hey, I'm Lauren and I'm John
- 52:22and we host the beard All Podcast, the podcast where we talk about two
- 52:27of the greatest things in the world, beer and weird Al and a lot
- 52:30of other things. We're funny. Yeah, that's basically what I told him
- 52:35to say. Good job with listen, yay, but no, seriously,
- 52:39we try and pare a beer with weird Al song and talk about both things
- 52:44and go through the conversation takes us. It's fun. I promise you'll like
- 52:49it. Yeah, I mean if you like talking about random things as well
- 52:53as you know, fine craft beers and some wonderful craft music. Hey,
- 53:15welcome back. We've got three contestants into the final round and ready to play
- 53:22for the big money. Jack Potts starts at one hundred dollars and I'll explain
- 53:27as we go along. But before we get into the actual gameplay the final
- 53:30round, I just wanted to go over what charities everybody was going to be
- 53:36playing for. Prompted by Russ, I was kind enough to ask if that
- 53:38was what we're going to be doing. And let's start with you, Russ,
- 53:43who are you playing for? N why an organization called Music Cares and
- 53:49grant surprise, the guy from Infectious group wants to talk about music based charity,
- 53:52but it's when you think of the many ways that artists who provide so
- 53:59much to our lives are mistreated and have been over the years. One thing
- 54:04that many people don't think of is there is absolutely no healthcare system in place
- 54:07for any of the artists who you love. Whether it's financial assistance, mental
- 54:13healthcare, physical health, any of those things, there's nothing in place for
- 54:15any of those artists. And that's where Music Cares steps in. If our
- 54:19artists are going through a housing crisis, of mental health issue, anything from
- 54:23substance abuse to it's sometimes issues created by their own art that they create for
- 54:30us, the things they go through to create that art, and so on,
- 54:34music Care steps in and helps out those those folks. And the reason
- 54:37why it's very important to me personally is I didn't even know that it existed
- 54:43until two very good friends of mine within the music industry are I'm excited to
- 54:47say, are still alive today because of Music Care stepping in them out with
- 54:52more than a few issues that I don't believe they would have been able to
- 54:55overcome on their own. So I would love to see them get some more
- 54:58funding. Wow, that's uh, that's pretty incredible. Um, Lauren,
- 55:02who are you playing for? And why I am playing for. It's a
- 55:07charity based out of Florida here it's called Dobe Ranch Rescue and they are a
- 55:12dedicated rescue for Doberman pinchers in the state of Florida. And this is a
- 55:17breed that is kind of being bred to death by backyard breeders, um,
- 55:22just kind of breeding them and selling them. And um, what this charity,
- 55:28with this rescue does is tries to get the Doberman's out of these situations
- 55:32either um, you know, into foster homes and ultimately into you know,
- 55:37their their forever homes. And man, they're they're doing some good work.
- 55:40It is. It is absolutely selfless work. And they're my favorite breed,
- 55:46so I'd love to see them do the work they're doing. Wow, it's
- 55:50very cool. Yeah, I know. That is a fantastic charity. And
- 55:57uh, lastly, Augie, what charity are you playing for? I'm gonna
- 56:00be playing for Saint Jude's Children's Research Hospital. Very cool. Yeah, no,
- 56:05I completely understand respect that. Um. We help some families not you
- 56:09know, be dragged down by medical bills and housing and food law expenses allows
- 56:15them to be there to take care of their kids and not have to have
- 56:19a hefty bill over their heads. Yeah, very cool man. You've played
- 56:22for them before? Oh yeah, I played with them a few times.
- 56:25Actually, fair enough, fair enough, very good. And see, I
- 56:29know you're out of the game, but your your charity is going to get
- 56:30a token five dollars donation just for participating. What charity is that, Oh
- 56:36the vfw VFL Veterans Foreign Wars. Yeah, definitely. They helped take care
- 56:39of a lot of US veterans who've been you know, in that ship.
- 56:45So pretty cool. They're pretty awesome. They're gonna get a five dollar donation
- 56:49in your name. Awesome, Thank you very much for playing. Uh And
- 56:52like I said, you can sit around, you can commentate, you're just
- 56:53not allowed to help. As we go into the final round. The final
- 56:57round is gonna work a little bit differently, and the previous rounds have all
- 57:00worked. The player in front and pole position is still the only one answering
- 57:05the questions, but in the player in back is picking the category for each
- 57:09individual question. They are going to be exactly seven questions in this final round,
- 57:15and the player who gives me a correct answer on the seventh and final
- 57:20question will win the game and win whatever's left in the pot. At that
- 57:24point. Jack Potts starts at one hundred dollars. It goes down by ten
- 57:30dollars every time somebody gets a question wrong. So it's it's actually in everybody's
- 57:36interest to collaborate, to work together to try and get get the player in
- 57:42front to get the question right, so you keep that pot nice and high.
- 57:45However, as we get down to the fifth or sixth questions, the
- 57:50players and back are gonna want to start moving up, so they're probably going
- 57:53to be a little less helpful at that point, but we'll see how it
- 57:58all plays out. So, uh, Lauren, you got into the final
- 58:04round first, so you have your pick. Would you like to sit in
- 58:07pole position, in the middle or at the back straight position? Backing herself?
- 58:17I gotta dig that Russ. You were second to get in. Would
- 58:21you like to sit in the middle or would you like to sit in the
- 58:22back. I've been sitting in the middle of this whole trip. I'm sitting
- 58:25in the middle. One will again, then the order does not change.
- 58:30I'll you go straight to the back where you belong like a good little dirty
- 58:34boy. So after the show. Yeah, all right, So for our
- 58:42first question for the for the category that Lauren is going to face, and
- 58:45you may want to consider whether you would be good at these categories too,
- 58:49so you can help her. Um, would you like to give Lauren a
- 58:52question on tennis or comic books? Comic books? Comic books? It is
- 58:59all right, so Lauren, here is the first of seven questions. Okay,
- 59:06in comic books, which comic book series has sold the most individual comics?
- 59:15Batman, spider Man, Superman, X Men, Oh boy, and
- 59:22you can you can ask the other players for help. I can ask the
- 59:28other players for help. So my gut for some reason, says spider Man.
- 59:34But I don't have anything other than the fact that that felt correct.
- 59:42Spider Man is my gut as well. And the only reason why is because
- 59:45most of the time, whenever like there's been a resurgence of comic book stuff,
- 59:49like spider Man's the guy you hear about first. Yeah, the Superman
- 59:52is t arguably a bigger part of pop culture now my opinion, but it's
- 59:57like its more like TV and movies, Aggie. Do you have any thoughts
- 1:00:01on this? So, unfortunately, I kind of missed out on the whole
- 1:00:05comic book scene growing up. So but I have to agree that, Yeah,
- 1:00:09it seems that Spider Man is the forerunner or the front runner when it
- 1:00:14comes to anything, so I feel like he probably has the most out there.
- 1:00:20Yeah, okay, I mean, I'm I'm not gonna like try and
- 1:00:24dig myself into a into a hole. I'm I feel like we're all kind
- 1:00:29of there. We're gonna go with spider Man in locking in the spider Man.
- 1:00:32We're going with Dave spider Man home Man, Okay, to stay in
- 1:00:38pole position and keep the jackpot at one hundred dollars? Is spider Man the
- 1:00:45correct answer? Oh? I'm sorry, Lauren Stevie. Stevie has hand ray?
- 1:01:00Was it the X Men's Here's the thing, Superman is a lot older
- 1:01:08than spider Man. Spider Man came out in the sixties. Superman came out
- 1:01:13in the thirties. Yeah, and Superman has sold approximately six hundred million comics.
- 1:01:21Second place is Batman with four hundred and eighty four million, then Spider
- 1:01:25Man with three hundred and eighty seven million, and finally X Men at two
- 1:01:29hundred and sixty million. God, that's all right, So sadly, Lauren,
- 1:01:35you go to the back of the pack, Russ and Aggie move up,
- 1:01:38and the jackpot now drops to ninety dollars I never had, but that's
- 1:01:44okay, that's okay. It's still a lot of money. And Russ you're
- 1:01:50up for your question, and Lauren, you get to choose what category you
- 1:01:53give him, and I wonder what you're gonna pick, because his categories are
- 1:01:58the Internet or music, the music music, So that was an easy choice.
- 1:02:08I feel like music it is. Russ. Here is your question on
- 1:02:14music in music? Which of these musicians has won the most Grammy Awards Beyonce,
- 1:02:24John Williams, Quincy Jones, Stevie Wonder. Oh my god. Wow,
- 1:02:36that's okay, dude, that's a good question, because damn question,
- 1:02:40because oh Williams is one of those cats that like, if he puts out
- 1:02:47anything, he's gonna win. It's like weird Out with the Comedy, right,
- 1:02:52Yeah, John Williams is going to win the soundtrack Like yeah, written,
- 1:02:54I know you don't like John Williams. Then like thee is a track
- 1:03:00answer, right, because she's so new, Like how could she rack up
- 1:03:02that much? But they give out Grammies to everybody for no reason now,
- 1:03:06so son of a bitch? What were the last two? Again? Quincy
- 1:03:10is the goddamn man, And you have to wonder because like Michael swept at
- 1:03:16the Grammys twice and Quincy was produceable. Just get god damn it beside like
- 1:03:25Quincy's Quincy too though, like I don't need it, just be like ah
- 1:03:29because of Mica, Like you know what I mean, like he fucking ironsides
- 1:03:31and all have worked without Pacy and all that chin son of a bitch.
- 1:03:38God damn never heard Russ curse so much living with the guy. You can
- 1:03:52help. If it were me, I feel like Beyonce definitely know. Um,
- 1:04:00John Williams, how many soundtracks are there? Really? Right, he's
- 1:04:05only gone if he does a score. It's if he does anything. He
- 1:04:09puts out a record of re recordings of his own hit, it's gonna get
- 1:04:14a grant. But well, what were your thoughts on Quinine route the others?
- 1:04:18I feel like if it were me and I had no help at all,
- 1:04:25I would say Quincy Jones, um, because I feel like he's had
- 1:04:29a hand in so many things, but on his own end. But I
- 1:04:33don't know, all right, I haveing to go Quincy Jones and help for
- 1:04:38the best. Okay, you're gonna lock in Quincy Jones. Yeah, all
- 1:04:43right, it's locked in, cannot be changed to stay in pull position and
- 1:04:48keep the jackpott at ninety dollars. Is Quincy Jones the correct answer, No,
- 1:05:03I'm sorry, Uh, you threw it out immediately. But the correct
- 1:05:09answers Beyonce. God damn it. They give out Grammys like they're fucking water
- 1:05:13now and they don't need anything. I don't know. Here's another grammy.
- 1:05:20Beyonce has won thirty two grammys. Quincy Quincy was second with twenty eighth,
- 1:05:28and John Williams and Ctebee Wonder both have twenty five. You might have been,
- 1:05:31well, she might have won him, but did she earn him?
- 1:05:35Well, as far as this game goes, unfortunately, Russ. That means
- 1:05:40you're going to the back of the pack. Aggie and Lauren move on up,
- 1:05:44and the jackpot drops to eighty dollars, still a nice chunk of change.
- 1:05:48So let's see if Aggie can start winning it, or at least keep
- 1:05:53it at eighty dollars. Um So, Russ, the categories that you can
- 1:05:56give Aggie are movies or presidents movies movies. It is all right, okay,
- 1:06:04Aggie, to keep the jackpot where it is and to stay in pole
- 1:06:09position. Here is question number three on movies. Which movie sold the most
- 1:06:16tickets worldwide? Et the Extraterrestrial, Gone with the Wind? The Sound of
- 1:06:26Music? Star Wars episode for a new hope you can ask Russ or Lauren
- 1:06:36for help. I'm actually leaning towards the last two. Either Sound of Music,
- 1:06:45right, that was the one you said, Et the Extra Terrestrial,
- 1:06:48Gone with the Wind, the Sound of Music, Star Wars episode four.
- 1:06:53It's gotta be that either the Sound of Music or Star Wars. Clarifying question,
- 1:06:58yes Now sold the most tickets worldwide in like ever? Yes Now updated
- 1:07:09as of yesterday. With the Wind came out in nineteen thirty. Fine,
- 1:07:16and people love that movie. It's had a bunch of like, you know,
- 1:07:23re releases and stuff along those line. So that is just a thing
- 1:07:26to consider. I wouldn't immediate I'm not saying that's the answer, but I
- 1:07:29wouldn't immediately throw it away. Okay, they wouldn't have been a world what
- 1:07:38personally I think it's et It might be that would be funny world like I
- 1:07:45know I'm older and all, but like ET was like the thing. It
- 1:07:49was like fever Pitch worldwide when it came out, like a month at the
- 1:07:54bottom office, and it wasn't like like Universal Studios doesn't have many rides or
- 1:08:00at every single park. Et is still at her Japanese park, even though
- 1:08:02it's not anywhere else. Really is where else? I just wrote ET last
- 1:08:06time I was at Universal, which was probably was Yeah, okay, remember
- 1:08:15writing. Yeah. Also, if you guys want to look into our new
- 1:08:19adult film, Ogie, it is your choice, sir man, I like
- 1:08:28how I chose too, they chose the other two, so um which we
- 1:08:33made it a first Yeah. I don't think ET. I think was there,
- 1:08:41but I'm gonna change. I think Gone with the Wind. You want
- 1:08:47to go with Gone with the Wind? Yeah, you're gonna lock that in.
- 1:08:50Yeah, as well? He locks it in all right, to keep
- 1:08:55the jackpot at eighty dollars and to keep Aggie at the front of the pack
- 1:08:59in pole position, is Gone with the Wind the correct answer? Yes,
- 1:09:12absolutely right. I've never been happy to be extremely well reasoned. Lauren.
- 1:09:16Gone with the Wind sold over two hundred and two million tickets Star Wars came
- 1:09:23in second with one hundred and seventy eight. I don't have the numbers for
- 1:09:27the other two, but they were less. Wells was out there. Yeah,
- 1:09:32yeah, well, Augie stays in position, which means the the the
- 1:09:36jackpot stays at eighty dollars. And here is the possible categories for question number
- 1:09:42four. Russ, again, you make the choice, would you like the
- 1:09:45question to be about American Awards or health? Instantly lean toward American Awards except
- 1:09:54for the farst that are the Grammys. Thinking like health, between all of
- 1:10:00us, we can come up with a good answer for health. Yeah,
- 1:10:01sure, healthy health. It is all right, health, Aggie. Here
- 1:10:06is question number four on health. What is the most common surgical procedure performed
- 1:10:15in the US? C section, cataract removal, circumcision or joint replacements?
- 1:10:26Oh my god, that's difficult. It's either c section or drawing replacement.
- 1:10:31No, no, you don't think so, I don't think circumcision. I'm
- 1:10:40gonna grab a couple of Shut the fuck up, y'all. Talk about that
- 1:10:45has been circumcised. How many of them have had their cataracts removed by a
- 1:10:49joint replacement? Certain, that's the question, um, oh my goodness.
- 1:11:02Hey, So no, no, no, all this to say, like
- 1:11:08what, uh, what percentage of male baby's born in the US are circumcised?
- 1:11:19Okay? Right, you got to think about it. Right, So
- 1:11:23that's like approximately fifty percent of the population. And if this is a thing
- 1:11:27that's being done to even half of them, that's twenty five percent of people
- 1:11:30in America have that procedure done. Do twenty five percent of people in America
- 1:11:35have cataracts removed? Do twenty five percent of people in America have joint replacement?
- 1:11:42Do twenty five Okay? And so like only fifty percent of people in
- 1:11:45America could possibly have had a c section. Granted they could have had it
- 1:11:48done more than once, but I don't know. I don't know. Yeah,
- 1:11:55you really can't do a circumcision twice. No, you can't. I
- 1:11:58mean, they don't even I gotta the first time he's cut once, you
- 1:12:05know a little I think I would go with our ns are I think circumcision?
- 1:12:12You want? Do you want to lock that in? Sure? Yeah,
- 1:12:15let's lock that circumcision. It's locked in. To keep the jackpot at
- 1:12:18eighty dollars and to keep auging in pole position, is the correct answer circumcision.
- 1:12:32No, I'm sorry. Believe it or not, it's cataract removal.
- 1:12:39It really is. Three million people have cataract surgery in the US every year.
- 1:12:44Next is c section at one point three million, joint replacement at one
- 1:12:48point oh five million, and circumcision only happens about one million times a year.
- 1:12:54Wow. Okay, okay, people aren't doing it as much as they
- 1:12:58used to do. Times have change. Yes. In any event, Aggie
- 1:13:03moves to the back of the pack and Lauren is back in pole position for
- 1:13:08the best as we go to question number five. Now, Aggie, the
- 1:13:13categories you can give Lauren are This is an interesting pairing. I did shuffle
- 1:13:17these video games or game shows? Can Can I help him pick the category?
- 1:13:29You can say whatever you want. It's choice on game shows. I
- 1:13:33just want to throw that out there. She wrote her college thesis on game
- 1:13:36shows game shows. It is right, and you're going with game shows to
- 1:13:40help her? All right? Fair enough? Love letter to Richard Dawson in
- 1:13:44it. If you want to read it, she'll send it to you.
- 1:13:45It's hilarious and wartwarming at the same time. You can you can send it
- 1:13:49to me anytime you want. You know, I'm going to read that all
- 1:13:54right, Yeah, okay, So Lauren, here is question number five on
- 1:14:00game shows? Which game show has produced the most episodes? Jeopardy, The
- 1:14:10Price is Right, Pyramid, Wheel of Fortune. Okay, So we're talking
- 1:14:16all versions of all of these shows, right, okay, because we had
- 1:14:20the art fleming Jeopardy and like the current iteration of the wheel used to be
- 1:14:26on in the day and in the evening. Um okay, So the current
- 1:14:30iteration of Wheel of Fortune has been on um for forty years forty one years
- 1:14:38there and yeah, and in Jeopardy and you're behind that, and then they
- 1:14:43had stuff before that, and so then the Price is Right just been on
- 1:14:46fit. But there was prices right before the Price is Right, as we
- 1:14:50know as well. So that also existed. That goes back to the sixties
- 1:14:57we did yeah, um okay, Well was the last one than Pyramid,
- 1:15:01right, I don't think it's pyramid. Pyramid me on five days a week
- 1:15:06though, And it was also like we all where it was every time of
- 1:15:10the evening. Okay. But the thing I think that's the thing of wheel
- 1:15:14is wheel. There was a whole stretch people forget about where Na we're at
- 1:15:17with it was a different episode in the daytime than it was at night.
- 1:15:20Okay, okay, and that's sir. Um Fortune feels like the strongest answer.
- 1:15:28Um, I feel like they take feel like they take a shorter break
- 1:15:33than Prices Right does. But over the summer season, you know, I
- 1:15:41feel like we'll we'll might take like six or eight weeks off. I feel
- 1:15:45like Prices Right does, like summer vacation, like the whole you know,
- 1:15:49the whole thing. Um, Will of Fortune feel right? The only reason
- 1:15:57I'm pushing you in that direction is because they am at PM. Well know
- 1:15:59that? And then that also that also tracks And then there was the Chuck
- 1:16:01Woolery hosted before Pat Manno for you, Lauren, what do you want to
- 1:16:13do? I'm gonna lock in with Wheel of Fortune. Just lock Wheel of
- 1:16:17Fortune. Okay. I'm bearing in mind your other competitors may not want you
- 1:16:23to keep getting questions right. There's only this one and then two more and
- 1:16:26then we're done. So whoever gets that last question right is gonna win,
- 1:16:30and they need to be in full position to do it. But let's see,
- 1:16:34you said Wheel of Fortune. Which game show has produced the most episodes?
- 1:16:38Is it? Wheel of Fortune? No, Lauren, I'm sorry.
- 1:16:49The Price is Right has produced over nine thousand, six hundred episodes across fifty
- 1:16:55seasons, and they're the current record holder. Yeah, Prices Right is the
- 1:17:01oldest of these. I don't know if they ever did a stint where there
- 1:17:04were two episodes on, although there was a time when they were doing the
- 1:17:06regular daytime episodes and also million dollars spectaculars for a bit and there. No,
- 1:17:12there was a nighttime Prices Right. I think it was hosted by someone
- 1:17:15else though, Yeah, they did do that. It was did like evening
- 1:17:19Jack Kennedy. I watched the daytime one. It was it was Jack Nars's
- 1:17:25brother. I can't remember Tom Kennedy. I think what did the nighttime Prices
- 1:17:28Right? I don't remember. In any event, it doesn't matter, Prices
- 1:17:31Right was the correct answer. I'm afraid so, Lauren, you are taking
- 1:17:34a step back. You watch so much Prices Right to the back. There
- 1:17:40are two questions left. There is sixty dollars remaining in the jackpot and Russ
- 1:17:48question number six Augie actually or sorry, Lauren gets to choose the category for
- 1:17:54Russ to face, and considering that you need to be in position to win
- 1:17:58the game, and there are just two questions left, Lauren, do you
- 1:18:01want to give him boy bands or online shopping? I have a query.
- 1:18:08What if seventh question gets answered incorrectly, then I don't give away the correct
- 1:18:14answer. The next person in line will choose from the remaining three possibilities,
- 1:18:18and then if they get it wrong, the last person in line gets to
- 1:18:21choose from the remaining two possibilities. Okay, okay, but someone has to
- 1:18:27get that seventh question correct to win the game. If nobody gets it right,
- 1:18:31everybody gets a token donation. Nobody went so. Knowing all that,
- 1:18:40Lauren, what do you want to do? Go with boy bands? Boy
- 1:18:44bands? It is all right? So question number six on boy bands russ
- 1:18:51which boy band has sold the most records? Backstreet Boys, be TS,
- 1:19:00one Direction or in Sync? Oh my dear, h this is worldwide by
- 1:19:09the way, Yeah, yeah, you're a sneaky host. I don't know
- 1:19:16if you included the worldwide reminder because of BTS or one direction. One direction
- 1:19:29was short enough to where like they all went their separate ways, so like
- 1:19:33Zane and Neil and whatever, Harry, like all their stuff would come together,
- 1:19:39you know what I mean? Where's BTS is like still BATS. Also,
- 1:19:45I wasn't just naming off people who are in UH in one direction.
- 1:19:48I just want to clear you hear that I don't know one direction is or
- 1:19:55just BTS is the Korean BTS is a the Korean UH one direction was born
- 1:20:01originally of the British version of America. Scott talent like the Britain. Yeah,
- 1:20:08they were like thrown together, but they actually like are talented guys,
- 1:20:13which is why they went solow you know what I mean, They're like,
- 1:20:15yeah, we're not doing this, We're gonna damn. I feel like BTS
- 1:20:20has gotta be I mean, those people are insane. Their fans are insane.
- 1:20:26Yeah, I mean that I think. I like, I mean,
- 1:20:29I don't know circumcisions so well, I know there's I mean, I could
- 1:20:34sit here ridiculous about the you know, uh the numbers that UH in Sync
- 1:20:43put up and all that. But I just feel like PTS has gotta be
- 1:20:47right. Their fans are absolutely insane, Like they buy like ten copies of
- 1:20:53everything, like you know what I mean, for collecting shit I got.
- 1:20:58I'm gonna sit here continuing, I gonna say, I'm going to push you
- 1:21:00to lock something in. That's my dad. Uh, BTS, BTS is
- 1:21:04locked in. Okay, let's see. Uh. If you are correct,
- 1:21:10the jackpot stays at sixty dollars and you will be in pole position for the
- 1:21:15final question, which is huge. If not, you're gonna move to the
- 1:21:18back and Augie's gonna be in whole position for the final question. Is BTS
- 1:21:27the right answer? No, Russ, I'm sorry. I don't know if
- 1:21:40you'll kick yourself or not. It's the Backstreet Boys. The Backstreet Boys have
- 1:21:45sold over one hundred and thirty million records worldwide. Them. Oh, though
- 1:21:51they're the worst thing. They might have a better marketing department. I don't
- 1:22:00know. Maybe they're just really popular in India. I couldn't tell you.
- 1:22:04All I could tell you is these are the figures I got. You know,
- 1:22:08who bought their records. People who weren't smart enough to buy InSync record.
- 1:22:11No, everyone, I'm a firm stance on InSync being far better.
- 1:22:21Are they sexual? Yeah? Okay, so here we are, Aggie.
- 1:22:32Oh no, you have found yourself in pole position for this the final question.
- 1:22:41This is it. Somebody has to get this right to win money,
- 1:22:45and you're going to get the first shot at it. Oh No. However,
- 1:22:49to determine what the question's going to be about, I have to ask
- 1:22:54the person who's in the back russ. It is your choice what category the
- 1:22:59final question will be on. You may want to pick something that you think
- 1:23:01Aggie's going to be bad at. You may want to pick something you think
- 1:23:03you're going to be good at. But here are the categories you can choose,
- 1:23:08from space exploration or anniversaries. Full disclosure. I was going to be
- 1:23:19like, Okay, well, whatever I think he'll get, I want him
- 1:23:23because I like, I want some charity to get the highest amount of money,
- 1:23:26you know. And then well, shit, I don't know anybody it's
- 1:23:30good to either of those things, space exploration or anniversaries. I guess let's
- 1:23:35do anything anniversaries. Okay, I can't tell you it's the most it's the
- 1:23:40more interesting question, but let's see how it goes. So this is it.
- 1:23:45This is the final question, and Aggie, here is the question on
- 1:23:50anniversaries. Twenty twenty one was the fifty year and of versary of what technological
- 1:24:02breakthrough first legal online transaction, first illegal online transaction, computer mouse invented,
- 1:24:17answering machine invented now you could ask Lauren and Rust for help. I don't
- 1:24:26know how helpful they're going to be. Well shit, But if you get
- 1:24:32this right, you will win fifty dollars for Saint Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
- 1:24:41If you get it wrong, you lose one of these. Is the right
- 1:24:50one that is correct? Yes, that's how this works. Yeah, I
- 1:24:57got it right, But which one is it? I honestly think let's sayre
- 1:25:02fifty years ago, what was invented to years ago? I think I might
- 1:25:09have been the mouse? Okay, okay, hmm, do you want to
- 1:25:19lock that in? I mean, yeah, I can't really justify saying anything
- 1:25:26else other than I don't know, but as I'll go with the mouse because
- 1:25:30I know I think I don't think the mouse was invented. But at the
- 1:25:33same time, computer or Okay, so you have locked in computer mouse.
- 1:25:42This is to win fifty dollars for the Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital or you
- 1:25:47are out of the game. Is it computer mouse? No? I'm sorry
- 1:26:09that is incorrect. You're the Saint jew Charity will receive a five dollar donation.
- 1:26:17So well done, But I'm afraid to say you have lost the game
- 1:26:21and you are out of pole position. Well it's not that one, guys,
- 1:26:26which means Lauren and Russ both move up. Lauren, you get the
- 1:26:30second crack at this The jackpot is now forty dollars. But you just have
- 1:26:34a one in three and go ahead. And remember that the question was twenty
- 1:26:42twenty one was the fifty year anniversary of what technological breakthrough and the remaining answers
- 1:26:47are first legal online transaction, first illegal online transaction, or answering machine invented.
- 1:27:00I'm gonna go with the answering machine. Answering machine. You want to
- 1:27:06lock that in? I will be doing that. Yes, okay, it
- 1:27:11is locked in for forty dollars for your charity. The Adobe Rescue is answering
- 1:27:23machine. Correct, No, Laura, I'm sorry, Eagle, or it
- 1:27:45is down to Lauren is out of the game. The Adobe Rescue will receive
- 1:27:50a five dollars donation in your name. Thank you so much for playing.
- 1:27:54I hope you've had a good time, Russ. And this is it.
- 1:27:57This is it. There's no more after this. You have to at this
- 1:28:00right. It is thirty dollars or it is five bucks. And it all
- 1:28:04depends on whether you can tell me whether twenty twenty one was the fifty year
- 1:28:11anniversary of the first legal online transaction or the first illegal online transaction. Okay,
- 1:28:20so here's the thing, as we say, as we say back home
- 1:28:25in Detroit, see what had happened was when I started, my initial guess
- 1:28:30was that it was legal or illegal, like before any guests happened. And
- 1:28:36my thought from the beginning has been there wouldn't have been any legislation yet about
- 1:28:44a computer transaction, so like, I don't think a transaction could be illegal,
- 1:28:49right, that's my thought so far. Right, I've been wrestling with
- 1:28:57this in my mind for I don't know the last ten minutes, Okay,
- 1:29:00but I feel like there wouldn't have been any law to say that the transaction
- 1:29:03would be legal or illegal. And it's for those reasons that I'm sure hoping
- 1:29:10to give thirty dollars to me to care by saying legal transaction. Okay,
- 1:29:20this is it. Either it's thirty dollars for music cares or it's five dollars,
- 1:29:30and this has all been and we just kind of just kind of we
- 1:29:34just kind of care. Is first legal online transaction the final right answer for
- 1:29:58us? I'm sorry, students at Stanford and MIT struck a deal to buy
- 1:30:03weed via Arpanett in nineteen seventy one. It is the first illegal online transaction,
- 1:30:13and what's really funny is the first legal transaction didn't take place until nineteen
- 1:30:18ninety four. The mouse was invented in nineteen forty eight, and the answering
- 1:30:24machine was invented in nineteen thirty five. So once again, Stoner's ruined it
- 1:30:29for everybody. How you psych yourself out like it's literally you don't see the
- 1:30:34forest for the trees like I was so yeah, you were like, there's
- 1:30:38no way the transaction online could be illegal, And I'm sitting here going yes,
- 1:30:41but what they're purchasing could very well be illegal. Literally the trees,
- 1:30:46like literally, it was like the transaction itself, not what they could have
- 1:30:50been buying gotten damn it. Yeah, So sorry, Russ, I was
- 1:30:55willing you on. I wanted you to win that money. Oh yeah,
- 1:30:58yeah, yeah, yeah, I know. I wanted our first episode to
- 1:31:00go what disappointing. But you know what I've had. I've had a really
- 1:31:06good time, and I genuinely hope everybody else has as well. That is,
- 1:31:12that is the whole point of doing any of this is to have fun.
- 1:31:14Uh So, I genuinely hope everybody enjoyed themselves. Uh so, everybody's
- 1:31:18going to get a five dollars donations charity. Uh so, you know,
- 1:31:23everybody makes out even we're just kind of nice. But I guess we're just
- 1:31:27gonna have to invite you back and do this again just because we got it.
- 1:31:30We gotta get a winner. We got on Twitter recently after our last
- 1:31:35appearance on your show. I was like, hey, how soon is too
- 1:31:39soon to ask on your show? And as as you do, I use
- 1:31:44the Dave Chappelle itching are welcome on here anytime y'all want us on this.
- 1:31:51So that's like the least amount of work that for like us, that podcasting
- 1:31:57ever is we just I want to is when this started and all of us
- 1:32:01talked about the charities right like Saint Jews and Music Cares and THEBI Rescuing,
- 1:32:05I was literally thinking to myself like, well, there's really no way charities
- 1:32:10lose here right like this, Like who would like one of these charities?
- 1:32:17Like I mean, yeah, it would be great. And it literally we
- 1:32:19all worked real hard to get They're all listen, they're they're all getting something
- 1:32:27that they weren't getting until we did this, so you know, um,
- 1:32:32technically it's still win, right, I got ahold hope. Hey listeners,
- 1:32:36UM, if you think you could do better, please come and beyond the
- 1:32:41show. I'm happy to have anyone on, but I take so much joy
