- 0:05Welcome to The Hypnotist, the show that gives you inside
- 0:09access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing
- 0:12genuine. Issues.
- 0:13Brought to you by The Hypnotherapist, demanded by
- 0:16celebrities, CEOs and even royalty, Adam Cox.
- 0:20These recordings took place live from Evans Clinic in London's
- 0:24world famous Harley Street. So get yourself comfortable and
- 0:31enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:38Hi Adam here. And you're about to listen to a
- 0:42hypnosis session. All about two key things.
- 0:45And 1 is about releasing. Suppressed or trapped?
- 0:49Emotions and the second is about creating a morning ritual that
- 0:55would actually give you long term health and Wellness
- 0:59benefits. I was working with a client that
- 1:03was very successful in the process of selling their
- 1:05business, but had found themselves focused too much on
- 1:11health issues and then catastrophizing as to.
- 1:14Whether or not they. Would get worse whether or not
- 1:16things would improve. Going through the rabbit hole of
- 1:19researching symptoms and just creating more and more stress.
- 1:23That was this vicious cycle. And actually what they wanted is
- 1:27to reverse that cycle, to feel that they were making progress,
- 1:32improvements, more positive, felt they could do more and have
- 1:36more options rather than feel more restricted.
- 1:40So this starts with a metaphor of releasing.
- 1:44Suppressed or trapped? Emotions, but then introduces
- 1:47this idea of establishing a simple half an hour ritual in
- 1:52the morning of some activity, having a cold shower, and then
- 1:58doing something that links to mindfulness like sketching.
- 2:02Now all of these things are linked to positive
- 2:06neurotransmitters. So activity, for example, like
- 2:10this, particularly physical activity can link to endorphins
- 2:14and having a cold shower and feeling accomplished and
- 2:18regenerated and rejuvenated from that can link to dopamine.
- 2:23And doing something that links to mindfulness can actually link
- 2:27to things like serotonin and oxytocin because it can be
- 2:31perceived to be an. Act of self love.
- 2:34Now, these three things were relevant to the client that I
- 2:38was working with, but you might create a ritual which is linked
- 2:42to reading or a gratitude journal or doing something like
- 2:48having a healthy breakfast or something else.
- 2:52It's not important what the ritual is.
- 2:54It's important to think of if you were to do one thing every
- 2:58morning for the next year to radically improve your health
- 3:01and well-being, what three things that would take less than
- 3:04half an hour could they be? And that will probably give you
- 3:07a clue as to what your ritual could be.
- 3:11Now, this session was created for an individual.
- 3:13Some of the suggestions were highly relevant for them and
- 3:17will will not be relevant for you, so just ignore any
- 3:19suggestions that aren't quite right.
- 3:21But if you like the idea, particularly at this time of
- 3:24year in general, a lot of. People are.
- 3:27Planning on making changes, establishing new habits,
- 3:30improving the quality of their life, or making a change.
- 3:33So if any of those things resonate and you want to explore
- 3:37working with me directly, there will be a link in the
- 3:40description of. This episode.
- 3:43Or you can check out my website, adamcox.co.uk and on there
- 3:47you're going to find a link to schedule a completely free
- 3:50consultation call over Zoom. We'll have a chat and who knows,
- 3:53it might be that I'm your hypnotherapist.
- 3:55Rather than just. A guy you listen to.
- 3:58On a podcast. If that's of interest, check
- 4:00that out. But for now, find a quiet,
- 4:03comfortable place. The kind of place where you
- 4:05won't be. Distracted or disturbed?
- 4:07Relax and enjoy the session. Take a deep breath in, and as
- 4:49you breathe in, breathe in that resourceful feeling of calm and
- 4:55relaxation. And as you exhale, that's in
- 5:03release all that tension in your eyelids.
- 5:06Feel that release in your outward breath and just allow
- 5:11each breath to take you deeper and deeper.
- 5:19Relaxed now. That's it.
- 5:26The deeper you breathe, the more relaxed you feel.
- 5:32And the more relaxed you feel, the deeper you breathe, each
- 5:39breath taking you to that place of enhanced neural plasticity
- 5:49kind of place where wonderful changes start to take place all
- 5:56by themselves. So just take a moment now and
- 6:16really connect with your body, with your breath, any
- 6:22sensations, the weight of your arms or your legs, just connect.
- 6:31Allow your body to find that rhythm, a rhythm of relaxation
- 6:43and right here, right now. There is, absolutely.
- 6:49Nothing that you have to do or need to do.
- 6:56Nothing you need to fix. No problem you need to solve.
- 7:05And as you breathe in and breathe out, just notice.
- 7:13Notice what you notice that you are here breathing that way.
- 7:19Breathing in resourceful relaxation and exhaling tension,
- 7:26each breath taking you deeper and deeper.
- 7:33Relax now, breathing in slowly through the nose and exhaling
- 7:45through the nose or the mouth, whatever feels more natural, and
- 7:53you may begin to sense that your nervous system already knows how
- 8:01to stand down. This time of hyper vigilance.
- 8:09Being on guard isn't required here.
- 8:16So with each breath out, imagine that hyper vigilant mind
- 8:22loosening its grip, thoughts drifting, effort dissolving as
- 8:34the body remembers how to rest without collapsing.
- 8:45I want you to think of a staircase from your childhood,
- 8:49at a time when you felt safe and relaxed.
- 8:53And imagine yourself at the top of that staircase, with the
- 8:58belief that each step down the staircase.
- 9:02Will lead you. Deeper into a place of calm
- 9:07awareness. As I countdown from 12:50.
- 9:14Each step down, your body becomes more relaxed and
- 9:19heavier, and your mind becomes more connected.
- 9:27To wonderful. Changes.
- 9:29That's it. Taking that first step, 10
- 9:36feeling more relaxed, 9 deeper now, 8 calmer, and seven, a long
- 9:46outward breath. Feel that release and six,
- 9:52you're breathing steady and natural. 5 halfway down now.
- 10:02That's it. 4 Just loosening any tension in your jaw. 3 Almost
- 10:12there. Two and one.
- 10:15But instead of getting to the bottom of that staircase, I want
- 10:19you to imagine arriving in a space that feels safe, grounded,
- 10:26and private. A place where honesty is
- 10:31possible, when nothing needs to be hidden.
- 10:38That's it. And in this space, imagine your
- 10:45body as an intelligent container.
- 10:51Not broken, not failing, simply holding experiences that were
- 10:58never given permission to leave. Scan your body as some emotions
- 11:06may have been suppressed, some trapped, some quietly hiding
- 11:19emotions that may link to resentment, frustration, a sense
- 11:27of injustice or lack of fairness.
- 11:33And this in that moment. You don't need to name them, you
- 11:42don't need to analyse them or know where they came from.
- 11:48Just notice where your body feels heavier or more tense than
- 11:54it needs to be, and maybe that's in the chest, the throat, the
- 12:03stomach, or the shoulders, or maybe there down in the gut.
- 12:11And I wonder if you could imagine those emotions as dense
- 12:16energy that are old, stale, and no longer useful.
- 12:26With each exhale, imagine that energy dissipating, diluting,
- 12:34melting. Perhaps you could imagine
- 12:41imagine it draining downward and out of your body, or being
- 12:45released in your outward breath. I want you to imagine this dense
- 12:51energy is being like toxins, but those toxins are leaving in your
- 12:58outward breath or through the skin, perhaps through gravity
- 13:04itself. Nothing traumatic, nothing
- 13:07forced. Consider this just a natural
- 13:13detox of emotion and your subconscious understands
- 13:21something that deep down you already know.
- 13:28There is no need for overthinking, dwelling,
- 13:33catastrophizing, or even unhealthy habits to numb what is
- 13:39absolutely fine to be released. That's it.
- 13:44I don't want you to think of some of those old patterns,
- 13:52spending too long scrolling and to that phone or that device or
- 13:58staying in bed too long. That is numbing rather than
- 14:04restoring. And they were never weaknesses,
- 14:09just attempts and relief. Distraction is a coping
- 14:17strategy. Avoidance is a coping strategy.
- 14:24But what if there are better strategies, as now your system
- 14:33is learning a better way, A way that restores energy instead of
- 14:41draining it. A way that creates momentum
- 14:48instead of stagnation. Your mind begins to associate
- 14:54stagnation with discomfort and movement with relief.
- 15:02And I want you to think of a morning, perhaps tomorrow
- 15:09morning. You wake up, get out of bed.
- 15:16Maybe because you need to not rush, not forced, but decisive.
- 15:25Imagine wearing the clothing that's appropriate so that you
- 15:30can move your body for that 20 minutes and maybe.
- 15:35That's a walk. A good stretch, maybe time on an
- 15:42exercise bike. And this isn't intense exercise.
- 15:50It's nothing extreme, just enough to wake the system.
- 15:59And as you move, your body releases endorphins, and those
- 16:07wash away emotional residue. And your brain is releasing
- 16:14serotonin, creating steadiness and optimism.
- 16:22And then just imagine, after that 20 minutes or so, you have
- 16:28a warm shower. But when the warm shower
- 16:32finishes, imagine setting it to the coldest setting.
- 16:39And imagine experiencing that cold shower.
- 16:43Just two minutes. Not punishment, not brutality,
- 16:50just a signal, a message to the nervous system that says I can
- 17:00do difficult things, I am safe inside discomfort, I am
- 17:07expanding my comfort zone. And with that cold water, you
- 17:17feel accomplished. And so your body releases
- 17:20dopamine, giving you motivation, Dr. clarity and resilience.
- 17:29And consider all of these a gift of self love, tough love, but
- 17:36self love and thereby releasing oxytocin, a deep sense of trust
- 17:45in yourself. And afterwards, when you're dry,
- 17:53invigorated, refreshed, imagine sketching for 5 minutes.
- 18:00No performance, no judgement, just lines, shapes and presents.
- 18:09A time when your mind becomes quiet, your mind becomes focused
- 18:19and exists only in the moment. And this small act trains your
- 18:27brain away from compulsive scrolling and to ward
- 18:32intentional attention. And you can feel centred,
- 18:38grounded and clear. With freedom comes
- 18:44responsibility, a responsibility to establish order and
- 18:51structure. And here is the deeper shift
- 18:56rippling to every cell in your body now.
- 19:02Each time you do something challenging or difficult by
- 19:06choice, your identity is adapting.
- 19:12You become someone who creates options, someone who expands
- 19:18rather than avoids. Every morning ritual becomes a
- 19:26healing session, a reset of your emotional chemistry, a vote for
- 19:35health and a release of old heavy emotions.
- 19:45And your subconscious learns that movement releases unwanted
- 19:53emotion, discomfort builds resilience, and action restores
- 20:01well-being. And I want you to imagine the
- 20:07days and weeks ahead. Doing something once will give
- 20:13some benefit. Doing something consistently
- 20:18compounds. Think of someone saving money.
- 20:25They save money once and one day and never again.
- 20:27Nothing much happens. But when someone saves a little
- 20:32every day, it grows and grows. Consider rituals and investment
- 20:39in your health. And as you imagine that future,
- 20:43see yourself with more energy, clearer thinking, less of that
- 20:49emotional heaviness, and fewer compulsive coping strategies.
- 20:56And it isn't because you force discipline, but because your
- 21:02body prefers how this feels. And what if healing is no longer
- 21:10something you wait for, but something you create, practice,
- 21:16and maintain? Imagine yourself a year from
- 21:21now. A year of less cortisol in your
- 21:26blood and more of those wonderful, happy hormones.
- 21:33See yourself a year from now with great digestion, a great
- 21:38social life, health, vitality, happiness, doing all the things
- 21:46you want to do, but at one point thought you couldn't.
- 21:52Consider this planting a seed of an idea deep in your
- 21:56subconscious mind, and you will establish a wonderful ritual as
- 22:08a foundation to build on even more wonderful changes.
- 22:16But imagine floating all the way back to the present now as you
- 22:19take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your
- 22:25nose. Very soon I will count from 1:00
- 22:29to 10:00 to awaken you. So wiggle your fingers, wiggle
- 22:33your toes, breathe in and out through that nose.
- 22:37That's it. As I now count from 1:00 to
- 22:4010:00 to awaken you starting to count 123 waking up 456, more
- 22:49alert 7-8. Open your eyes.
- 22:52Open your eyes, 910. Wide awake, wide awake, wide
- 22:59awake. Thank you so much for joining me
