- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:05Speaker 2: It's Almost Famous podcast. We are here. It's the off season.
- 0:08Speaker 3: It's a very short off season for the Almost Famous podcast.
- 0:11Speaker 3: We're going to be right back at it breaking down
- 0:13Speaker 3: the Golden Bachelorette, and one of our hopes and goals
- 0:16Speaker 3: and also one of our most earnest opinions, is that
- 0:20Speaker 3: we hope you are so excited for the Golden Bachelorette
- 0:22Speaker 3: and we want to get you excited for the Golden Bachelorettes.
- 0:25Speaker 3: So we're going to end this episode talking about the
- 0:28Speaker 3: Golden Bachelorette and its upcoming premiere on September eighteenth. We're punkier.
- 0:32Speaker 3: It's Almost Famous podcast keeps our off season shorter.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Which I like you do.
- 0:37Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, you know, I like off season, but
- 0:39Speaker 4: I also like in season.
- 0:41Speaker 3: It does make it easier to talk to this But
- 0:43Speaker 3: like when we had a longer off season, a deeper
- 0:47Speaker 3: off season, I like you we got some guests, Yeah,
- 0:49Speaker 3: we got some guests that like really pulled some some
- 0:53Speaker 3: good stuff out. So we kind of turned more into
- 0:56Speaker 3: just a breakdown podcast, which is fine.
- 0:59Speaker 5: Kah, because I like interview heavy as well.
- 1:02Speaker 4: Hey, guys, let us know what interviews you want us
- 1:04Speaker 4: to see, what interviews you want to hear.
- 1:08Speaker 5: Who we haven't had.
- 1:09Speaker 3: On a good point, who would you be most interested
- 1:12Speaker 3: in hearing from, even if we agree or disagree with
- 1:15Speaker 3: them as people on the show, it would help us
- 1:19Speaker 3: know who you're into.
- 1:21Speaker 4: Yeah, and also, well you should let them know that
- 1:24Speaker 4: a lot of the times we don't have control over
- 1:26Speaker 4: the guests, getting guests who are still under contract. So
- 1:29Speaker 4: if you're wondering, like why we haven't had you know,
- 1:32Speaker 4: let's just say Devin. Well, the show is in charge
- 1:38Speaker 4: about who Devin does and does not talk to, maybe
- 1:41Speaker 4: not does not talk to, but like they're very going
- 1:43Speaker 4: to be very picky, and they try to spread it
- 1:46Speaker 4: out as much as they can.
- 1:48Speaker 2: They're scared of us, actually that's what they are.
- 1:50Speaker 3: They're scared that we would get the truth out and
- 1:53Speaker 3: it would be too hard hitting, and so they're keeping
- 1:55Speaker 3: Devin far away from almost famous podcast.
- 1:58Speaker 4: Actually I'm going to be interest to see when they
- 2:01Speaker 4: do let Devin speak, and yes, it really is like that, guys,
- 2:04Speaker 4: when he is let to speak, sure he could get
- 2:08Speaker 4: on Instagram and say what things that you know he
- 2:13Speaker 4: wants to say but if it's anything about the show,
- 2:16Speaker 4: they're going to tell him to take that.
- 2:17Speaker 5: Down right away, right Yeah. And I don't know.
- 2:21Speaker 4: I don't even think he's gonna want He probably doesn't
- 2:24Speaker 4: want to talk. He probably doesn't want to do interviews
- 2:26Speaker 4: right now.
- 2:27Speaker 3: Well, I mean, I can't imagine any interview he's going
- 2:29Speaker 3: to do makes him feel like he's.
- 2:31Speaker 5: He's gonna look good.
- 2:34Speaker 4: I don't think he can really. Only he can only
- 2:36Speaker 4: go up. That's what I'm saying. He could only go.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Then you should come on here. Then. Actually, we had
- 2:43Speaker 2: a big weekend.
- 2:44Speaker 3: We were together this weekend for a very exciting celebration
- 2:49Speaker 3: of along Gale and his new wife, Molly. Alan was
- 2:53Speaker 3: the executive producer during our time on the show and
- 2:57Speaker 3: probably is the best known producer, I would say from
- 3:02Speaker 3: the show, just because he has a big character, and
- 3:04Speaker 3: he's gone on to do other projects post Bachelor World,
- 3:08Speaker 3: like f Boy Island and Island.
- 3:11Speaker 4: Yeah, there's like some he have some horror movies in
- 3:13Speaker 4: the works, And I think just because he is such
- 3:17Speaker 4: a character, he kind of garnered a following on social
- 3:21Speaker 4: media of his own.
- 3:23Speaker 5: It's the Year of Alan.
- 3:24Speaker 4: If you want to follow him on Instagram, and then
- 3:26Speaker 4: like he has the food of a lawn. So so
- 3:29Speaker 4: all of that just makes him he's just he is
- 3:32Speaker 4: the ultimate character and we love him just in so
- 3:38Speaker 4: many ways that we can't even describe.
- 3:41Speaker 3: Yeah, you love and hate the man when you're with
- 3:43Speaker 3: him working for him on the show, and then you
- 3:45Speaker 3: learn to love him a lot. So he was to
- 3:48Speaker 3: give some context for me. I think everybody that goes
- 3:50Speaker 3: on the show that's around long enough has a moment
- 3:54Speaker 3: with a lin that stands out.
- 3:55Speaker 2: That's kind of what his thing. For me.
- 3:58Speaker 3: He was the one that really, I don't want to
- 4:00Speaker 3: say got me to because it kind of sounds like forced.
- 4:03Speaker 3: He supported me in my kind of ability to admit, hey,
- 4:08Speaker 3: I feel unlikable or my self esteem is so low
- 4:11Speaker 3: on myself that I feel the more people get to
- 4:14Speaker 3: know me, the less they'll like me, which came out
- 4:16Speaker 3: on the show as I feel unlovable. That was a
- 4:19Speaker 3: four hour conversation with a lot that we had one
- 4:22Speaker 3: on one, and it was a beautiful conversation for me.
- 4:25Speaker 3: It was one of the moments that I would say,
- 4:28Speaker 3: you know, when you're on the show, you never know
- 4:30Speaker 3: if you can trust alone or not. I think was
- 4:32Speaker 3: kind of the the sentiment, unless.
- 4:34Speaker 4: You're us trust to put my life eat to your hands.
- 4:40Speaker 3: Such an interesting decision you make, considering now he does
- 4:43Speaker 3: horror films. But the uh, you know, I think that
- 4:50Speaker 3: was a conversation that I look back on today and
- 4:52Speaker 3: has a had a massive impact in my life in
- 4:55Speaker 3: the best of ways. And it was one of the
- 4:57Speaker 3: first times I felt like somebody sat down and tried
- 5:00Speaker 3: to get to know me, and then the more they
- 5:02Speaker 3: got to know me, the less they didn't judge me.
- 5:04Speaker 3: And he finally was like, you just feel lovable, and
- 5:07Speaker 3: I was like, I do change everything. So Alan Is
- 5:10Speaker 3: is a wise counsel, and he is missed on the show,
- 5:13Speaker 3: I think, and in so many ways.
- 5:15Speaker 4: Lots of people were dming me when they saw it
- 5:18Speaker 4: was a lawn dwedding that we were at, and they're like, oh,
- 5:20Speaker 4: the show hasn't been the same since he's left, Like
- 5:22Speaker 4: I think a lot of people are aware of, like
- 5:24Speaker 4: his tenor on the show a lawn to me, Yeah,
- 5:29Speaker 4: we just had I can't even say it was a
- 5:31Speaker 4: brother sister relationship.
- 5:34Speaker 5: It was a godfather.
- 5:36Speaker 4: And god daughters, a fairy god father, fair god father.
- 5:42Speaker 2: Yes, what about Alan made you trust truly.
- 5:48Speaker 4: Like giddy, like I would like just giggle and smile
- 5:50Speaker 4: around him.
- 5:51Speaker 5: And whenever he was not around for you know, say.
- 5:55Speaker 4: It was nighttime on the show and he hadn't made
- 5:57Speaker 4: his appearance yet, I'd be like.
- 6:00Speaker 5: There's a lot, where's a lot. I need a lot.
- 6:02Speaker 4: I need my heart and soul needs that man. And
- 6:04Speaker 4: then he'd walk in the room and I basically would
- 6:06Speaker 4: just like.
- 6:08Speaker 2: Tomple him feels unhealthy, and I'd.
- 6:11Speaker 4: Always like talk to him with my hands on his
- 6:13Speaker 4: beard and just like look in his eyes, and I
- 6:17Speaker 4: just fully put my trust in him. He always had
- 6:21Speaker 4: my best interests at heart at a macro level, I felt,
- 6:24Speaker 4: but he knew that he was going to have to
- 6:26Speaker 4: put me through some small, smaller situations that I may
- 6:33Speaker 4: not look good or I may have been really upset by.
- 6:38Speaker 4: But at the end of the day, he was always
- 6:40Speaker 4: telling me, even if this feels that's the best word
- 6:43Speaker 4: I can use, You're gonna turn out great in the end, okay.
- 6:48Speaker 4: And I think looking back on it, it was more
- 6:51Speaker 4: of like you need those moments where you look like
- 6:56Speaker 4: you don't know what you're doing, that you look really
- 6:58Speaker 4: dumb to be like almost related like these are true
- 7:01Speaker 4: to you. These characteristics are true to you, and it's
- 7:05Speaker 4: going to make you so much more human in the end,
- 7:07Speaker 4: and looking back on the experience so far removed, I
- 7:12Speaker 4: see exactly what he's talking about. Some of my worst
- 7:16Speaker 4: looking moments on the show. I think, like when you
- 7:18Speaker 4: add it with like all the moments.
- 7:20Speaker 5: Together, like just made me a better character.
- 7:24Speaker 4: And he was absolutely right in the sense that I
- 7:28Speaker 4: was really dumb at times, but then at the end
- 7:31Speaker 4: of the day, look go what my life turned into.
- 7:34Speaker 3: He gets to know the characters very well, which is
- 7:36Speaker 3: a testament to his job.
- 7:38Speaker 5: Yes, his storytelling is unbelievable.
- 7:42Speaker 2: You know.
- 7:42Speaker 3: He was the efficient at you and Jared's wedding. Yeah,
- 7:46Speaker 3: your wedding, which was really beautiful. So, yes, had a
- 7:50Speaker 3: huge impact in your life.
- 7:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:52Speaker 3: There are other Bachelor contestants, some of which weren't even there,
- 7:56Speaker 3: that he's had massive impacts in their lives. But the
- 7:58Speaker 3: ones that were there where Nick and Natalie, We had Aaron,
- 8:05Speaker 3: Adam and Raven, You and Jared. There was obviously Jessica
- 8:09Speaker 3: and myself, Ari and Lauren Lyon Thurston. Katie Thurston was there, JP,
- 8:17Speaker 3: Chris Harrison and his wife Lauren, who else, Scletar who
- 8:23Speaker 3: was a producer on the show back in the day, Bennett,
- 8:26Speaker 3: who was still on the.
- 8:27Speaker 2: Show as a producer, was there. A couple of other producers.
- 8:30Speaker 4: C Ohn know is Nicole's not there anymore? And then
- 8:33Speaker 4: Peter Guice who also is not there anymore. So I
- 8:37Speaker 4: think Bennett is the only one that was Oh Jana too.
- 8:40Speaker 3: There's a lot of people that are now working for
- 8:43Speaker 3: Alan that used to work on the Bachelor franchise. I
- 8:46Speaker 3: know we're forgetting somebody that was there from the Bachelor World.
- 8:51Speaker 3: Let me just review the picture real quick.
- 8:54Speaker 5: Caitlyn was supposed to be there, she couldn't.
- 8:56Speaker 2: I'm sure there was a lot that were supposed to
- 8:58Speaker 2: be there that weren't.
- 8:59Speaker 4: There too, which interesting. Caitlin and Tasha both the ones
- 9:03Speaker 4: that didn't show up, well, that.
- 9:04Speaker 2: Just feels sad that they weren't. But Oh Joe and
- 9:07Speaker 2: Serena were there. That's it.
- 9:10Speaker 3: We named them all, so we got through everybody there.
- 9:12Speaker 3: It was a beautiful wedding we thought it would be.
- 9:15Speaker 3: Jessica explained it last night at dinner. I think in
- 9:17Speaker 3: a really great way. I said, Jessica, what do you
- 9:19Speaker 3: think of the wedding? She's like, it was incredible, it
- 9:21Speaker 3: was beautiful, it was heart like felt, she was. I
- 9:24Speaker 3: was just surprised because I had prepared for it to
- 9:26Speaker 3: be a lot less wedding e than it was. It
- 9:29Speaker 3: was a wedding, I thought, and I agreed with her.
- 9:31Speaker 3: I thought it'd be a little more eccentric. I thought
- 9:33Speaker 3: they would find even weirder things to do. Yes, the
- 9:36Speaker 3: whole ceremony, there were plenty of weird things, sure, but
- 9:40Speaker 3: it was a very beautiful wedding. Like it was a
- 9:42Speaker 3: great celebration of the two of them, Molly and Alan.
- 9:45Speaker 3: Molly is a big time actress, has been in a
- 9:48Speaker 3: lot of.
- 9:48Speaker 5: Different things, most notably Castle.
- 9:51Speaker 3: Yeah, most notably Castle. Now the two of them are
- 9:53Speaker 3: working together on a few different projects and have kind
- 9:55Speaker 3: of gone to the development side of things together and
- 9:59Speaker 3: they've done some incredible will work within that realm. But
- 10:01Speaker 3: Molly is uh, well, looked stunning. Everybody I hear from
- 10:07Speaker 3: on Instagram or is telling me that Molly just looked beautiful,
- 10:10Speaker 3: and she did.
- 10:11Speaker 4: We don't have any pictures of her ethereal dress from
- 10:15Speaker 4: the ceremony. She decided not to wear white, which I
- 10:17Speaker 4: think made sense for her just to have an offbeat,
- 10:21Speaker 4: non traditional wedding dress.
- 10:23Speaker 5: Because we weren't allowed to take pictures during the ceremony.
- 10:25Speaker 4: I don't know if that there's any pictures out there
- 10:27Speaker 4: of that, but it was so pretty.
- 10:28Speaker 5: I'm sure they will be eventually. And then James Gunn
- 10:32Speaker 5: the show of DC Comics kind of that was the
- 10:36Speaker 5: head of Easy Comics.
- 10:37Speaker 4: Someone Is was the efficient and that's because they met
- 10:42Speaker 4: for the first time at his house.
- 10:44Speaker 3: Yeah, and he was also the producer director on Guardians
- 10:50Speaker 3: of the Galaxy. So James Gunn's a big name, kind
- 10:52Speaker 3: of a household name. He did do the ceremony. There
- 10:56Speaker 3: were other stars there, some of which I don't know.
- 10:59Speaker 2: The name of.
- 11:00Speaker 5: Beth Green, Matthew Lillard.
- 11:02Speaker 3: Nathan Fillion was there. Nathan Fillions, if you looked him up,
- 11:06Speaker 3: you would know him for so many things.
- 11:07Speaker 2: He was in.
- 11:08Speaker 3: Rookie and Castle, Firefly, the Suicide Squad. He's like one
- 11:13Speaker 3: of those actors that is in everything and you just
- 11:17Speaker 3: like don't.
- 11:17Speaker 2: Know his name.
- 11:18Speaker 4: Is he the one that was in the Dark Knight? Probably, Yeah,
- 11:20Speaker 4: there was in the Dark Knight. And then Chris Chris
- 11:23Speaker 4: Sullivan is the one from This Is Us. What else
- 11:25Speaker 4: did I want to mention from Oh yeah, the funny
- 11:28Speaker 4: part where a lawn had I think along wrote this
- 11:31Speaker 4: song about a boy in peanuts and going to hell.
- 11:36Speaker 2: There's a real Peanuts Golden Boy Peanuts.
- 11:38Speaker 5: Golden Boy Peanuts. Yeah, I mean it's a peanut brand.
- 11:42Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:43Speaker 4: Okay, So he like wrote a song and then they
- 11:45Speaker 4: gave us these pamphlets to not open until the song
- 11:49Speaker 4: was supposed to be performed. And guys, we all sang
- 11:52Speaker 4: a song that we had never heard before. So just
- 11:55Speaker 4: imagine people trying to come up with and like the
- 11:57Speaker 4: beat in the rhythm of a song that they've never heard,
- 12:02Speaker 4: we all saying the lyrics together.
- 12:04Speaker 5: It was the most alaw on moment ever.
- 12:06Speaker 2: Alan did not come up with that song.
- 12:08Speaker 5: Just let you know, Oh really, who did.
- 12:11Speaker 3: The Mountain Goats his favorite band from forever ago. It's
- 12:15Speaker 3: a Mountain Goats song, Golden Boy Peanuts, and it's probably
- 12:19Speaker 3: his favorite Mountain Goats song.
- 12:20Speaker 2: But it's it is. You can listen to it.
- 12:22Speaker 3: It's by the Mountain Goats called Golden Boy.
- 12:35Speaker 4: Well, anyway, you guys, it was a great wedding, and
- 12:38Speaker 4: it to us was a bachelor family wedding because to me,
- 12:41Speaker 4: Alan is the head wizard and always will be of
- 12:44Speaker 4: the Bachelor franchise. And he made that Golden era that
- 12:49Speaker 4: a lot of people refer to from like two thousand
- 12:52Speaker 4: and yeah, Like you know, he started, I want to
- 12:56Speaker 4: say he started with Emily Maner's season through he left
- 13:02Speaker 4: where about before Hannah season. Hannah season was the first
- 13:06Speaker 4: one with Alalon.
- 13:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:08Speaker 3: Final story from the wedding, A couple of things, just
- 13:10Speaker 3: a quick breakdown. People wondered and asked us whether what
- 13:14Speaker 3: is it like to get together again?
- 13:16Speaker 2: Is it awkward? Is it weird? Never weird? Never awkward.
- 13:18Speaker 3: I'm sure you know there's disagreements amongst the different some
- 13:22Speaker 3: of the different people. I don't know them necessarily, but
- 13:25Speaker 3: everybody gets along really well. It's really exciting to be
- 13:28Speaker 3: with this group. We get so excited and it's it's
- 13:32Speaker 3: interesting to me how you know. At first these were
- 13:35Speaker 3: big parties, big celebration. This was a big party in celebration.
- 13:39Speaker 3: But now a lot of the conversation aers found kids.
- 13:41Speaker 3: Things have taken a massive step into families and kind
- 13:45Speaker 3: of children. A lot of the people they're having children,
- 13:48Speaker 3: are getting married and you know, hoping to have a
- 13:50Speaker 3: family one day of some kind and so that was
- 13:52Speaker 3: a big conversation. For a lot of it is what
- 13:54Speaker 3: are you doing with your kids and how are your
- 13:56Speaker 3: kids doing? And then my favorite story from the whole
- 14:00Speaker 3: night is they served all different types of Asian cuisine
- 14:07Speaker 3: during this ceremony. One of it was rice noodles. Ashley
- 14:12Speaker 3: grabbed the bowl of rice noodles. You can check my
- 14:14Speaker 3: instagram right now for the exact picture. She went to
- 14:16Speaker 3: scoop out her rice noodles and they went all over
- 14:19Speaker 3: her chest. It was impressive just how much she just
- 14:23Speaker 3: got out of the bowl onto her body, and then
- 14:27Speaker 3: just in good old Ashley fashion.
- 14:29Speaker 2: She picks it off and throws it right back into
- 14:30Speaker 2: the shared bowl.
- 14:31Speaker 5: I know, I didn't even didn't even dawn on me.
- 14:34Speaker 4: It's actually I feel like, in Ashley fashion, it would
- 14:37Speaker 4: go right in my mouth.
- 14:38Speaker 5: But didn't do that either.
- 14:41Speaker 4: As far as the drama that happens at these things there,
- 14:45Speaker 4: this wasn't dramatic, but it was a tidbit. It was
- 14:47Speaker 4: the first time Raven and Nick had seen each other
- 14:49Speaker 4: since the ending of their season.
- 14:51Speaker 3: You know, I told Jessica that night, I said, you know,
- 14:54Speaker 3: Raven was number two on Nick season, and she goes
- 14:56Speaker 3: no way and say they make no sense, and she's like,
- 14:59Speaker 3: is that we weird for them? And I was like, no,
- 15:01Speaker 3: it'd be about as weird as me seeing Jojo, Like
- 15:03Speaker 3: now we're married and we're starting families, Like it would
- 15:06Speaker 3: not be weird I mean for me in that situation
- 15:09Speaker 3: at all. I don't know the dynamic necessarily with Nick
- 15:12Speaker 3: and Raven. I don't think it ended poorly necessarily.
- 15:16Speaker 5: No, it certainly didn't.
- 15:18Speaker 4: And it's not like Natalie is ever going to feel
- 15:20Speaker 4: weird about it, and Adam certainly is not going because
- 15:22Speaker 4: he's like part of the.
- 15:24Speaker 2: Yeah, Adam, Adam, I think could care less.
- 15:26Speaker 5: I don't even think Adam remembers.
- 15:29Speaker 3: Yeah. I don't think Adam has any idea how Raven
- 15:31Speaker 3: season on of The Bachelor ended, Like, I don't think
- 15:33Speaker 3: he thinks about it at all, or nor does he
- 15:36Speaker 3: lose sleep on it, because the two of them are happy.
- 15:38Speaker 3: Everybody's happy now and kind of off in your own lanes.
- 15:41Speaker 3: It's I would say, it's even. It would be less
- 15:43Speaker 3: awkward than even sitting in a room full of exes
- 15:47Speaker 3: like in real life. I mean, you can make that work,
- 15:50Speaker 3: right if you're.
- 15:50Speaker 5: Hundred percent if your real life exes.
- 15:53Speaker 4: That feels a lot weirder because at least with The Bachelor,
- 15:58Speaker 4: you know that they have only hung out like an
- 16:00Speaker 4: on camera situations and that their dates were really sure
- 16:06Speaker 4: that it was probably fleeting feeling. Well, I mean, you
- 16:09Speaker 4: know it's it's oftentimes not fleeting feelings. But in my
- 16:13Speaker 4: case with like crystals, it's like you're so in your
- 16:17Speaker 4: head about how much you like them, and then you
- 16:20Speaker 4: leave the show for a week and you're like, oh, okay,
- 16:22Speaker 4: so I was wrapped up in things.
- 16:24Speaker 5: So a lot of there's a lot of that.
- 16:26Speaker 4: And then before we move on from Alan's wedding, I
- 16:29Speaker 4: do want to say that, like, yeah, it's so exciting
- 16:31Speaker 4: to see each other, but we often don't know who's
- 16:34Speaker 4: going to attend these weddings because we don't ask ahead
- 16:37Speaker 4: of time because it's like, you don't want to be offensive.
- 16:40Speaker 4: So Ben obviously bent with a lot. Having officiated our wedding,
- 16:44Speaker 4: you could have assumed that, yes, we were gonna be there.
- 16:47Speaker 4: It'd be weird that somebody officiates someone's wedding and they
- 16:50Speaker 4: don't invite them to their own.
- 16:52Speaker 5: But like with you, was like do I ask him?
- 16:55Speaker 5: With the Raven, I was.
- 16:56Speaker 4: Like, do I ask her because there are all these
- 16:58Speaker 4: people like Joe, I wasn't one hundred percent I knew
- 17:02Speaker 4: Nick because you know, I know that Nick and Alon've
- 17:06Speaker 4: always been so close. But yeah, so the week of
- 17:10Speaker 4: or you're either finding out who's definitely going to come,
- 17:13Speaker 4: or you don't find out until you're walking into the
- 17:16Speaker 4: you know venue, and you're like, oh my.
- 17:18Speaker 5: God, Yeah, I'm so glad you're here. I'm so glad
- 17:20Speaker 5: you're here. And then the moment's gone too fast, and
- 17:22Speaker 5: then we wonder will we ever get these were unions again?
- 17:26Speaker 2: I hope so, I hope.
- 17:27Speaker 3: So they're They're meaningful to so many and I know
- 17:31Speaker 3: they're you know, they're meaningful for you, and it's always
- 17:34Speaker 3: something I look forward to. These are good people, well
- 17:36Speaker 3: speaking to good people. We do have headlines to get
- 17:37Speaker 3: to today. The big headline of the week obviously was
- 17:41Speaker 3: that so much a Bachelor nation got together for this
- 17:43Speaker 3: incredible ceremony of for Alan and Molly. It was a
- 17:46Speaker 3: great night. But also we had a big announcement last
- 17:49Speaker 3: week where Jin and Joey are both appearing on Dancing
- 17:53Speaker 3: with the Stars. It's a full slate now of dancers
- 17:57Speaker 3: and celebrities who are going to be on this season,
- 17:59Speaker 3: actually tell me if I'm wrong, because I don't know,
- 18:02Speaker 3: and you are a historian of the Bachelor franchise. Has
- 18:06Speaker 3: two Bachelor contestants ever been on the same season.
- 18:09Speaker 5: No, they have not been.
- 18:11Speaker 4: And we actually have stats about who is more likely
- 18:17Speaker 4: to be ahead in this competition, Joey or Jen, and
- 18:21Speaker 4: it's definitely Jen. So the women have one the show.
- 18:28Speaker 4: No male contestant from The Bachelor has one. Dancing with
- 18:33Speaker 4: the Stars, the current odds are that if we were
- 18:37Speaker 4: to place bats that Jen will rank second for the
- 18:42Speaker 4: mirror Ball Trophy with nine to two odds. And then
- 18:48Speaker 4: the person who's most notable, who's who Vegas has winning,
- 18:53Speaker 4: is the gymnast, Stephen Natrowski. I don't know how to
- 18:59Speaker 4: say that the gymnast Stephen, and then Joey is in
- 19:05Speaker 4: sixth place with the odds for this season nine to
- 19:08Speaker 4: one odds, but the averages that usually Bachelor Nation men
- 19:14Speaker 4: are doomed to finish somewhere in the middle of the pack.
- 19:18Speaker 4: We're thinking Chrys sols Nick and Joe.
- 19:23Speaker 5: Grocer show Joe from the past couple of years.
- 19:27Speaker 2: Matt James is on it as well right, oh yeah.
- 19:29Speaker 5: And Matt he ended up in twelve place.
- 19:33Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, so we're hoping for a good appearance out
- 19:37Speaker 3: of them both.
- 19:37Speaker 2: I'm not going to be surprised if Jim's really good
- 19:39Speaker 2: at this.
- 19:40Speaker 4: Me too.
- 19:40Speaker 5: I see like she's going to be really good.
- 19:42Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:43Speaker 3: It almost seems unfair every time they have like a
- 19:45Speaker 3: gymnast on and like, of course they're going to be
- 19:46Speaker 3: a good dancer. Yeah, they can hold themselves up by
- 19:49Speaker 3: their peinky toes. They can spin on their pinky toes too. Okay,
- 19:54Speaker 3: big headline here, Ashley, I want to hear how you
- 19:57Speaker 3: feel about it. Maria from Joey's season of The Bachelor
- 20:03Speaker 3: confirm she's not going on Bachelor in Paradise. This is
- 20:08Speaker 3: shocking to me, Ashley, and.
- 20:10Speaker 4: I don't believe it, Okay, Okay, well sometime I don't
- 20:13Speaker 4: believe it. I think that like she's probably thinking, I
- 20:15Speaker 4: don't want to go on Bachelor in Paradise, Like I can't.
- 20:16Speaker 4: I don't like dealing with this drama because she got
- 20:19Speaker 4: sucked into the drama of this week after it was
- 20:22Speaker 4: said on after the final Rows that she followed Devon
- 20:24Speaker 4: and then like some people were speculating that she was
- 20:26Speaker 4: the reason that Jen and Devon split and that's obviously
- 20:31Speaker 4: not the case. But I think she just doesn't like
- 20:32Speaker 4: getting caught up in this stuff. And she was controversial
- 20:36Speaker 4: during her season, but I think also beloved Money, yeah,
- 20:41Speaker 4: and mostly beloved, So.
- 20:44Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 20:45Speaker 4: I think that Money can talk, and if she doesn't
- 20:49Speaker 4: you Paradise, then it's like she just seems to have
- 20:52Speaker 4: the personality that is going to want to be on TV.
- 20:56Speaker 5: And if she.
- 20:57Speaker 4: Doesn't say it's to Paradise, she's kind of saying I
- 21:01Speaker 4: may never be on TV again. And because she was
- 21:04Speaker 4: mostly beloved, I just feel like.
- 21:06Speaker 5: Why would she not. I don't know, I don't, I
- 21:08Speaker 5: don't know. And money and Money talks well.
- 21:11Speaker 3: But Paradise is also I think, such a good environment
- 21:15Speaker 3: for her. It feels like Paradise fits her where you
- 21:19Speaker 3: do get not that she needs a redemption story, but
- 21:22Speaker 3: like she you to know her better. You'll get to
- 21:25Speaker 3: see her date and who she's actually into and kind
- 21:29Speaker 3: of what she's all about. And I thought she would
- 21:31Speaker 3: be kind of a hot commodity on the beach this year.
- 21:34Speaker 4: Well, it seems like the guys are definitely interested because
- 21:37Speaker 4: not only follow but we heard about the sam sam
- 21:43Speaker 4: n sam.
- 21:44Speaker 2: M sam m. What did he do? I don't know
- 21:47Speaker 2: if I know this.
- 21:47Speaker 4: He was the one who told Jen on that group
- 21:50Speaker 4: date that he was thinking that the bachelorette was.
- 21:52Speaker 5: Gonna be Maria and that's like why he signed up.
- 21:55Speaker 3: Uh yeah, that's right, goodness, gracious, well, shocking news that
- 22:01Speaker 3: she's saying she's not going on the beach, like you said,
- 22:04Speaker 3: you'll believe it when you see it.
- 22:05Speaker 4: There's a lot of time before they start really casting
- 22:10Speaker 4: and filming, Like we're talking if we're on the regular schedule,
- 22:13Speaker 4: if we're gonna get right back on the regular schedule
- 22:15Speaker 4: and film Paradise in June. Yeah, they have until she
- 22:20Speaker 4: has until May to think this, think about this, and
- 22:23Speaker 4: she also has until May to feel her fame died down.
- 22:26Speaker 4: And I'm not talking about her being a attention hood
- 22:29Speaker 4: like I would say the same thing about myself.
- 22:31Speaker 2: Back in the day.
- 22:32Speaker 3: I know many people who come off the show and
- 22:34Speaker 3: they're like, no, I'm good with where I'm at, like
- 22:36Speaker 3: it feels like things are clicking, and then four months,
- 22:38Speaker 3: five months later they're like, like we talked about with
- 22:40Speaker 3: Devin last week, like all of a sudden This kind
- 22:42Speaker 3: of like you close your eyes and you open it
- 22:44Speaker 3: and nobody's calling you. You're not getting ay deals, you're
- 22:47Speaker 3: not getting the free dinners like you were, Hotels aren't
- 22:49Speaker 3: hitting you up to stay there for free and travel
- 22:51Speaker 3: for them, and you're like, wait, I need to go
- 22:53Speaker 3: back on Paradise.
- 22:54Speaker 2: I mean I think we've seen many. I mean look at.
- 22:56Speaker 3: Dean, like, I think I was one of Deans when
- 22:59Speaker 3: he met his now wife, was I just wanted I
- 23:02Speaker 3: need to get back out there again.
- 23:04Speaker 5: Yeah, and he was like, oh, you know what, the
- 23:05Speaker 5: bank accounts a little low.
- 23:07Speaker 2: Yeah, so he just did it.
- 23:19Speaker 4: We have another headline about Jess how did you say
- 23:23Speaker 4: You're gor Rid? And then Kylie Russell, two girls that
- 23:26Speaker 4: after coming off Paradise last season, they were like absolutely
- 23:31Speaker 4: not doing it again. They had like a party that
- 23:34Speaker 4: they were that their finale had aired. And now if
- 23:37Speaker 4: when you read this interview, they say that they're both
- 23:40Speaker 4: pretty much down to do Paradise again.
- 23:42Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:42Speaker 3: The headline is this Jess and Kylie reveal if they
- 23:45Speaker 3: would go on Paradise again and also who they'd want
- 23:48Speaker 3: to see there. I always think that's a fun question
- 23:51Speaker 3: to ask, what kind of hints at who's been talking
- 23:54Speaker 3: to who.
- 23:54Speaker 4: They don't have any fun answer to that because they
- 23:57Speaker 4: say that because they went in to last season kind
- 24:01Speaker 4: of having blinders on and being very focused on the
- 24:06Speaker 4: guys that they ended up with. You know, Kylie was
- 24:10Speaker 4: engaged to Avan that they both want to go into
- 24:14Speaker 4: Paradise this time. If they are asked with a more
- 24:17Speaker 4: open mind, I.
- 24:18Speaker 2: Think it would be a great decision.
- 24:20Speaker 3: I think Paradise sounds like so much fun if you
- 24:22Speaker 3: are single and you're coming off the show and you've
- 24:24Speaker 3: given yourself a break from the cameras and you're living
- 24:27Speaker 3: your best life. I think Paradise is a great choice
- 24:30Speaker 3: for so many to go back on again, and even
- 24:33Speaker 3: those who had a rough go on the show. I
- 24:37Speaker 3: think in the samms, even like the people that really
- 24:40Speaker 3: like didn't have a great time on the big show,
- 24:44Speaker 3: typically they go on Paradise and there is a redemption
- 24:46Speaker 3: story for them, and that's always something that we like
- 24:49Speaker 3: to watch here, something to celebrate here. And oftentimes those
- 24:54Speaker 3: people who have the redemption story, you end up finding
- 24:56Speaker 3: somebody really great on during their time on the beach.
- 24:59Speaker 3: Now actually kind of close out this headlines, I don't
- 25:02Speaker 3: know if you know or not. No, I'm more curious myself.
- 25:05Speaker 3: Do you know where they're deciding to film Paradise, because
- 25:08Speaker 3: obviously it's not going to be at the same mansion of.
- 25:10Speaker 5: The I don't know, so hopefully we'll find that soon.
- 25:14Speaker 3: I'm sure you could start to text and find out
- 25:16Speaker 3: so that we can start getting people excited now. Actually,
- 25:19Speaker 3: final little segment of this show. Obviously we talked about
- 25:23Speaker 3: the Golden Bachelorette. It's airing September eighteenth. The guys I
- 25:28Speaker 3: continue to see on commercials. I continue to see their
- 25:31Speaker 3: bios come out. We continue to learn more about who
- 25:34Speaker 3: they are as people we see little clips of the show.
- 25:37Speaker 3: In general, I think this cast of men will make
- 25:42Speaker 3: GEN seasons cast of men look terrible, because not that
- 25:47Speaker 3: they need any help with that, but these dudes I
- 25:52Speaker 3: think are really well prepared for this experience. I was
- 25:56Speaker 3: nervous about the casting for The Golden Bachelorette, but it
- 25:59Speaker 3: feels like the department spent.
- 26:01Speaker 2: A little more time on.
- 26:03Speaker 3: These guys than they did for GEN season. I could
- 26:06Speaker 3: now be more excited to see Jones's journey unfold on
- 26:09Speaker 3: national television. I'll stop there because I have some closing thoughts.
- 26:14Speaker 4: Okay, well, so our friend Lindsay Lyles, who is also
- 26:17Speaker 4: a Bachelor producer, she got an Emmy nomination, didn't win,
- 26:23Speaker 4: but Emmy nomination for her casting of The Golden Bachelor.
- 26:27Speaker 5: So that was like the first.
- 26:28Speaker 4: Time that the show has gotten a nomination in that area,
- 26:32Speaker 4: or at least it has for a very long time.
- 26:35Speaker 4: So yes, maybe they are putting a little bit more
- 26:38Speaker 4: effort into the casting of Golden Hopefully this one will
- 26:41Speaker 4: be just as good. But I have to say the
- 26:44Speaker 4: casting for of Kelsey's dad, which I know I bring
- 26:48Speaker 4: up Kelsey's dad Mark a lot, but the way that
- 26:51Speaker 4: he was smiling in the audience of the finale last week,
- 26:55Speaker 4: and the way that Joan was smiling when they were
- 26:58Speaker 4: talking about him, maybe the best cast was the easiest cast. Yeah,
- 27:06Speaker 4: I think that they might be.
- 27:09Speaker 2: That'd be awesome, that would be so amazing.
- 27:13Speaker 3: I think the show is hitting a good stride when
- 27:15Speaker 3: it comes to the Golden Show.
- 27:17Speaker 2: Now.
- 27:18Speaker 3: My honest opinion is this, I had a lot of
- 27:20Speaker 3: high hopes. Obviously, it was a different time when The
- 27:23Speaker 3: Golden Bachelor was coming out, because I was like, I
- 27:25Speaker 3: want to be a part of it. I still do
- 27:27Speaker 3: love to be, but I've pretty much came to terms
- 27:30Speaker 3: that I will have no part of it ever, and
- 27:32Speaker 3: that's okay. I'll just talk about it on this show.
- 27:35Speaker 3: I wanted to be a big fan of the show.
- 27:36Speaker 3: I really loved watching The Golden Bachelor. I did think
- 27:40Speaker 3: the ending, especially of the show.
- 27:45Speaker 2: Kind of threw me off. It made me lose.
- 27:47Speaker 3: Trust in this Golden show. It made me confused at
- 27:51Speaker 3: the Golden Show. It made it almost feel like to me,
- 27:56Speaker 3: they were putting so much of their eggs in this
- 27:58Speaker 3: golden basket and it was such a success that the
- 28:01Speaker 3: show would find a way to ruin itself very quickly.
- 28:03Speaker 2: And I think they were close.
- 28:06Speaker 3: However, I want to and I'm asking all the almost
- 28:11Speaker 3: famous listeners too, to start over, because I think they
- 28:15Speaker 3: were getting their feet underneath them for the Golden Bachelor.
- 28:17Speaker 3: I think they were trying to understand how it would
- 28:19Speaker 3: look and how it would operate. I don't think it
- 28:22Speaker 3: was probably done perfectly, and I do think they're prepared
- 28:26Speaker 3: better for the Golden Bachelorette show, and I am excited
- 28:30Speaker 3: to watch it. I am just as excited to watch
- 28:33Speaker 3: Joan's journey because I think Joan is fantastic. I think
- 28:37Speaker 3: she is an incredible choice for the Golden Bachelorette. I've
- 28:40Speaker 3: gotten to know Joan, I've gotten a message with Joan.
- 28:43Speaker 3: She is sweet, she's encouraging, she is supportive, she's obviously
- 28:46Speaker 3: a family person. She's beautiful, and she's wonderful. And I
- 28:51Speaker 3: have high hopes that Joan is going to be kind
- 28:56Speaker 3: of the foundational piece to wear this Golden Show goes
- 29:01Speaker 3: from here on out. Not that Gary wasn't. I'm not
- 29:03Speaker 3: saying Gary wasn't, but I do think Gary's story now
- 29:07Speaker 3: is a little bit banished, tarnished based on all the
- 29:11Speaker 3: stuff that happened. Yeah, and I think Joan is a fresh, new,
- 29:15Speaker 3: good start for the show.
- 29:16Speaker 5: Okay, I totally agree.
- 29:17Speaker 4: There's like nothing about Joan that we know so far
- 29:19Speaker 4: that makes her at all unlikable.
- 29:22Speaker 2: She's just goodness, gracious nod.
- 29:24Speaker 5: She just seems like goodness. So I'm excited to see her.
- 29:27Speaker 2: She's going to be a star. She should be a star.
- 29:30Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 29:30Speaker 4: And guys, if you if you think that Ben's his
- 29:34Speaker 4: predictions about the guys are good, you know, his off
- 29:38Speaker 4: the cuff comments about judging them based on just their pictures.
- 29:42Speaker 5: If you think that's good. You know Jared Freed has
- 29:45Speaker 5: you be you know Jared Freed, Yeah, the comedian, comedian.
- 29:49Speaker 4: Yeah, he did this on his Instagram today. I think
- 29:54Speaker 4: this is his Yeah, his first impressions of these guys
- 29:59Speaker 4: absolutely hilarious.
- 30:00Speaker 5: You've got to go check it out.
- 30:02Speaker 2: Does he find them as attractive, like in good looking
- 30:04Speaker 2: as I did? Yeah? Yeah, they're like studs.
- 30:08Speaker 3: Like all these guys for some reason, took model pictures
- 30:11Speaker 3: where when they do the Bachelorette show, all the guys
- 30:14Speaker 3: look like they're telling taking their sixth grade elementary school
- 30:17Speaker 3: like picks. And it's ridiculous that they like they did
- 30:20Speaker 3: up these guys put them in the leather jackets. There's
- 30:22Speaker 3: no way that many loather jackets are owned by this
- 30:25Speaker 3: many men.
- 30:27Speaker 2: But yeah, go listen to Jared.
- 30:29Speaker 4: But it's just absolutely ridiculous how they made these men
- 30:34Speaker 4: the photo shoots, like the fashion and the background is
- 30:37Speaker 4: just so.
- 30:37Speaker 5: Much better than the big Ass and the regular Bachelorette.
- 30:40Speaker 3: It's a little offensive, quite honestly, I don't know where
- 30:43Speaker 3: I'm treating these elderly people so kindly.
- 30:47Speaker 2: Anyways, we're pumped for it. It's going to be a great.
- 30:50Speaker 3: Season and make sure you tune in as we get
- 30:52Speaker 3: closer and closer to a brand new season within the franchise.
- 30:56Speaker 3: The Golden Bachelorett air September eighteenth on ABC. But until
- 31:01Speaker 3: next time, where we talk more kind of off season
- 31:05Speaker 3: topics and hopefully have some really cool interviews and bring
- 31:08Speaker 3: some good content your way.
- 31:09Speaker 2: I've been Ben, I've been Ashley.
- 31:11Speaker 5: Love you Bye.
